The source notes Downs had a couple of good catches outside the numbers and more downfield work than usual in Week 2. While the Colts historically avoid sending him into contested areas where Michael Pittman and Alec Pierce worked, Downs is clearly the best remaining receiver in the current incarnation of the Colts' wide receiver core. Pierce's injury probably increases Downs' opportunities in the shorter term.
