Winston's poor play linked to unfocused offseason; Giants hedging with McCarthy.

Winston remains the Giants' starting quarterback, but the source suggests he may not be performing well due to an unfocused offseason. The source references reports that Roger Sherman joked Winston was 'gallivanting and traveling and drinking' during the offseason rather than taking it seriously, which the source believes contributes to why 'he doesn't really look that good.' This context frames the Giants' acquisition of J.J. McCarthy as a hedge against Winston's performance.
