nine targets, seven receptions, 142 yards, and a touchdown... Adnai Mitchell is like wide receiver 96...Adnai Mitchell does that at a very high level...Gino Smith throws that football to those sections of the field extremely well. As much of an Adnai Mitchell guy as I am, I would just rather bank on Antonio Williams running the most routes and being the second pass catcher on a much more condensed and straightforward passing game than what the New York Jets bring to the table.
STACKED’s take
Downfield specialist with hero-shot upside but unreliable volume in crowded Jets offense.
Posted 9 targets, 7 receptions, 142 yards, and a TD in week 8, but is difficult to rely on due to volume constraints; at 25.7% targets per route on the season (15th among NFL receivers) in a crowded Jets offense. With Garrett Wilson commanding the primary volume (6-12 targets per game), the Jets running 32 passing attempts with five different pass catchers (20 fewer dropbacks than league average), Mitchell can hit on hero shots downfield but lacks consistent volume. Is a downfield specialist excelling at deep routes and post patterns where Gino Smith throws well, but the offense is projected for only 23 points many weeks and Mitchell can score zero or two points any given week due to limited volume. Projects as wide receiver 96 in fantasy value. Against favorable matchups (Buffalo, Arizona, Miami), he's a flex fill-in option, though Bam Knight prefers Antonio Williams over Mitchell because Williams runs most routes and is second pass catcher on a much more condensed and straightforward Commanders passing game versus Jets' complexity.
