The coaching staff identified Bowers as the clear difference-maker on a roster with a consensus 32nd-ranked receiver group, and Paganetti notes that Clint Kubiak, the new offensive coordinator, would logically funnel an "insanely high percentage" of the offense through Bowers again given the lack of viable receiving talent. Paganetti suggests Kubiak might employ a 12-personnel base with Bowers as the X receiver and Michael Mayer as the Y tight end, similar to how Trey McBride ran over 100 more routes than any other tight end in the NFL last year.
