Post-Achilles limitations restrict Cousins to shotgun, constraining Kubiak's scheme.

Cousins has not gone under center much since tearing his Achilles, severely limiting his ability to run Kubiak's efficient play-action offense which requires quarterback mobility and the ability to turn his back to the defense. Kubiak is constrained by having to keep Cousins in shotgun, unable to actually run an under-center offense, which may force the team to turn to Fernando Mendoza sooner than expected if Cousins proves too restrictive for the offensive scheme.
