From the episode

he gets an insane amount of work in the in the past game...he had one hundred and twenty nine targets last year, which was almost 30, like basically almost 30 more than the next closest guy...Christian McCaffrey has 100 catches in a season three times. Yeah. Every other running back in NFL history has done that four times combined.

McCaffrey's 129 targets and dual-threat role justify first-round selection despite injury risk.

McCaffrey is less reliant on pure ground volume than other elite running backs; he had 129 targets last year, almost 30 more than the next closest running back (B. John with 100), and averaged three more touches per game than any other RB. He has 100 catches in a season three times; every other running back in NFL history has done that four times combined. With 102 catches last year (sixth in the NFL, right behind Amon Ross St. Brown), he functions essentially as a pass-catching receiver who also gets 300 carries. Despite high injury risk, his potential value is worth the risk because he could win your league; he's been a top-three running back by points per game every year he's played more than seven games.
