Christian McCaffrey is coming off of a season in which he touched the ball 413 total times. He also has a reliance on receiving work. There is no denying that he is going to be the engine of Kyle Shanahan's offense. I'm not saying that that's not true. I am just saying I don't think he is going to, especially when you note the efficiency he managed as a rusher last season going to rebound.

At 30 years old coming off his heaviest workload ever, McCaffrey's efficiency as a rusher declined last season, and historical data shows that of 15 running backs over two decades who cleared 300 carries in back-to-back seasons, only six reached 1,000 rushing yards the next year. Loza concludes: "there's too much risk at his ADP given the touch and the workload."
