STACKED’s take
Burden's injury drop to pick 55 masks elite rookie metrics; ready for opener with volume upside.
Luther Burden III's ADP has dropped from the late 30s to pick 55 following an early August groin injury, but Bears head coach Ben Johnson stated he "looks 100% to me" and the rookie returned to practice a week prior to the opener. Despite the injury discount, Burden posted elite metrics as a target-earner: ranked 15th in targets per route run among receivers with 40+ receptions; averaged 2.6+ yards per route run on 60+ targets, joining an elite 10-year cohort including Julio Jones, A.J. Brown, Justin Jefferson, and Ja'Marr Chase; ranked sixth in EPA per route, 10th in DVOA per route, 12th in EPA per target, and had the highest separation rate at the position. With DJ Moore traded to Buffalo and only journeyman Kalif Raymond added, Burden should see significant volume in an offense projected to score the eighth-most points.
