Mahomes projected to underperform Walker in Week 1 due to ACL recovery.

The source projects Patrick Mahomes will be outscored by Kenneth Walker in Week 1. Mahomes is returning from a torn ACL and LCL suffered in December and is likely not yet 100% healthy. The Chiefs are expected to lean harder on the run game given Mahomes' injury recovery status and the Broncos' relative vulnerability against the run compared to their elite pass defense.
