The Seattle Times Seahawks on Sam Darnold
From the article
Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold told reporters before Thursday's practice that he "is really striving" to play Sunday against the Washington Commanders. Proof that he might indeed make it back came a few hours later when he was listed as a full participant in Thursday's practice. That was an upgrade from Wednesday, when he was limited in practice, his first since suffering a glute injury in the season opener against the Patriots on Sept. 9.
STACKED’s take
Darnold progressing from glute injury; full practice participant, targeting Sunday return vs. Commanders
Darnold suffered a glute soft-tissue injury in the season opener against New England on Sept. 9 and was initially feared to have a broken or dislocated hip. He was taken from the field via ambulance and diagnosed with a soft-tissue glute injury after a CT scan ruled out fractures. As of Thursday practice, he was listed as a full participant after being limited Wednesday, his first practice since the injury. Darnold said he is "really striving" to play Sunday against Washington and planned to ramp up reps Thursday and Friday. Coach Mike Macdonald indicated a decision on Darnold's status would come Friday, with the injury on a "good track." If he plays Sunday, it will be 18 days after the injury.
