A.J. Brown

PositiveValue12:18

In a scenario where AJ Brown fell to the 2-3 turn alongside Pickens, Collins, and London, the source favors taking AJ Brown and London, indicating AJ Brown's upside is strong at that draft position.

Insight page
PositiveValue12:18

Wide receiver taken in late round two as part of a three-receiver league build; the source loves the stack of Drake May and AJ Brown together and describes it as a terrific start to the team.

Insight page
NegativeValue20:08

Unlikely to reach the 2-3 turn in drafts; source assesses that AJ Brown probably won't fall to that point, implying he'll be selected earlier.

Insight page

Adonai Mitchell

NegativeRole11:00

Adonai Mitchell has been getting buzz all camp long and is viewed as the Jets' number two wide receiver and probably their number two target in the offense. However, the limiting factor is that it's the Jets offense. As a late-round flyer, he ranks toward the bottom of the list compared to other late-round wide receiver options like Stribbling.

Insight page

Amon-Ra St. Brown

PositiveProjection45:15

Amon-Ra St. Brown is Team Seven's round-one receiver selection. The source describes Team Seven as 'a really good team' with strong quarterback value, and St. Brown anchors the receiving corps alongside Devontae Smith and Marvin Harrison Jr.

Insight page

Anthony Richardson

PositiveProjection7:27

Anthony Richardson showed improvement in preseason play and has been working on his mechanics; if he continues this trajectory, he could become a reclamation project elsewhere or compete for a starting job in the future.

Insight page
NegativeRole7:27

Anthony Richardson is the Indianapolis Colts backup quarterback, which is problematic for receivers like Zay Flowers given Richardson's poor passing mechanics and arm talent compared to a starting-caliber QB.

Insight page

Bijan Robinson

PositiveValue32:31

Running back selected as the hero RB in a build that waits on the position; the source notes that if Jamar Chase is taken at pick three instead, Bijon Robinson would still likely be available and would be the preferred RB selection, indicating strong value at that juncture.

Insight page

Breece Hall

NegativeValue43:00

Breece Hall was available in the third round but was not selected on Team 6; the source questions whether the team should have considered him instead of Zay Flowers to improve running back depth.

Insight page

Brian Thomas Jr.

NegativeProjection21:06

Source expresses concern about Brian Thomas Jr. as a third receiver in a three-receiver PPR league; indicates hesitation about his performance or role.

Insight page

Brock Bowers

PositiveValue20:34

Source prefers Bowers over Rice in rankings and would take him in a scenario where Nico Pickens and Olave are available; indicates Bowers is ranked higher and preferred as a value pick in early rounds.

Insight page
PositiveRole20:59

Source emphasizes the upside potential of Bowers as a tight end, noting he must be included in the conversation when evaluating receiver-heavy rosters; suggests his ceiling justifies early tight end selection.

Insight page

Brock Purdy

NegativeRole42:00

Brock Purdy was selected as bench depth on Team 6, providing backup quarterback coverage after Jalen Hurts.

Insight page

Bucky Irving

PositiveValue29:00

The source identifies Bucky Irving as one of two running backs he would have been comfortable taking in round four as an RB1, which would have changed his draft strategy away from taking Travis Etienne in round three; Irving went two picks before the source's round-four pick.

Insight page

Carnell Tate

NegativeValue21:19

Source has dropped Tate further in rankings since the draft; indicates declining confidence in his value and would prefer alternatives like Sutton.

Insight page

CeeDee Lamb

NegativeRole63:36

The speaker mentions Lamb as one of the Cowboys players he needs to draft more of, but notes that Lamb is going to be tough to acquire.

Insight page

Chase Brown

PositiveValue40:37

The source identifies Chase Brown as one of two favorite running backs in the draft (alongside Kenneth Walker), indicating strong approval of his draft capital and role.

Insight page

Chris Godwin

NegativeDepth Chart46:46

Chris Godwin is Team Eight's sixth-round pick, part of the team's receiving corps. The source mentions Godwin as part of the roster but does not provide specific analysis of his value or role.

Insight page
PositiveValue47:03

Godwin was drafted in round six and is cited as a strong value pick that allowed the drafter to skip the ick rounds at running back while maintaining receiver depth.

Insight page

Chris Olave

PositiveProjection21:06

Source loves Olave as a receiver in a three-receiver PPR league; indicates strong confidence in his performance and role.

Insight page

Christian McCaffrey

NegativeValue62:40

The speaker is not the biggest McCaffrey fan but took him in the first round of a Keeper League draft because there were many players off the board and it made the most sense as value; this is the second time the speaker has taken McCaffrey despite not being a fan, viewing it as good value.

Insight page

Christian Watson

NegativeProjection46:46

Christian Watson is Team Eight's fifth-round pick. The source includes him among the team's first five selections and notes that none of these players are 'catch standouts,' but specific analysis of Watson is not provided in the excerpt.

Insight page
PositiveValue47:03

Watson was drafted in round five and is highlighted as a strong value pick that helped cover receiver needs without taking a high-end WR2 early.

Insight page

Courtland Sutton

PositiveValue21:25

Source would have taken Sutton over Carnell Tate as a third receiver option; indicates preference for Sutton's value.

Insight page

D.J. Moore

NegativeValue31:27

Wide receiver taken ahead of Quinshawn Judkins in a three-receiver league build; the source expresses mild buyer's remorse over this selection, noting that in full PPR scoring by season's end the two players will likely be close in value, and the hesitation stems from the team's weak RB2 situation.

Insight page

D'Andre Swift

NegativeInjury0:41

Left practice with a cramp; no ranking changes warranted.

Insight page
PositiveValue29:00

The source identifies DeAndre Swift as one of two running backs he would have been comfortable taking in round four as an RB1, which would have changed his draft strategy away from taking Travis Etienne in round three; Swift went mid-round four in the draft discussed.

Insight page
PositiveValue43:15

DeAndre Swift fell in this draft to a value spot; the source states 'I take him in almost every draft' and prefers Swift over Judkins, noting that assuming he's healthy, Swift's draft position was a positive outcome that 'saved him' in the draft.

Insight page
PositiveValue43:46

DeAndre Swift's ADP has stabilized in the middle of round four across multiple sources; real-time Fantasy Pros ADP is 46, CBS ADP is 38, and in-house drafts show him going 38th to 45th. The source notes Swift 'fell a little bit' in their draft but attributes this to health concerns being priced in, which 'saved him' in their view. Swift is being selected ahead of Judkins and is viewed as preferable to Judkins by the source.

Insight page

Dak Prescott

NegativeValue46:21

Dak Prescott was selected 113th overall by Team Eight, significantly above his ADP of approximately 59. The source identifies this pick as 'ridiculous' and questions whether the team would be better served by Jared Goff at that draft position, suggesting Prescott was overvalued in this draft.

Insight page
PositiveValue48:21

Prescott was drafted at a spot where the source would have loved to take him, indicating strong value at his draft position.

Insight page
NegativeRole63:31

The speaker mentions needing to start drafting more Cowboys players including Dak, Lamb, or Pickens in his remaining three drafts.

Insight page

Dallas Goedert

NegativeDepth Chart44:45

Dallas Goedert is Team Four's tight end selection. The source compares Team Four's overall roster construction to Team Six, noting that while Team Four loses some value at tight end compared to Team Six's Sam Laporta, Team Four compensates with superior running back depth.

Insight page

Dalvin Cook

PositiveRole46:37

The source expects Cook to be more involved in his offense catching the ball this year than he was last year, signaling an uptick in pass-game role and receiving opportunities.

Insight page

Daniel Jones

NegativeInjury7:57

Daniel Jones has a history of injury issues in his career; in dynasty and superflex leagues, Anthony Richardson could be a relevant bench stash given Jones's durability concerns.

Insight page

David Montgomery

NegativeProjection8:47

David Montgomery is expected to be the lead back in Houston's offense and should exceed 600 total yards if healthy; he's positioned in round five but has a clear pathway to being a great pick, though also carries bust risk.

Insight page
PositiveValue40:11

The source describes David Montgomery at 81st overall as insane value, indicating he was acquired significantly below his expected draft position.

Insight page
PositiveValue49:56

Montgomery was drafted 81st overall and is cited as insane value, representing a significant bargain at running back.

Insight page

Deebo Samuel

PositiveUsage9:43

Debo Samuel looked good in preseason and the 49ers haven't been shy about giving him carries, indicating continued dual-threat usage.

Insight page

Derrick Henry

NegativeValue40:18

The source mentions Derrick Henry as a running back option that was passed over in round two in favor of Justin Jefferson, suggesting Henry was in consideration at that draft position.

Insight page

DeVonta Smith

NegativeValue43:00

DeVonta Smith was mentioned as a receiver the source would have preferred over Zay Flowers in round three of Team 6, suggesting better value at that draft position.

Insight page
PositiveProjection45:33

Devontae Smith is Team Seven's round-three receiver selection. The source compares two potential round-two/three combinations: Henry and Smith versus A.J. Brown and Javontae Williams. Both the source and co-the source prefer the Henry and Smith pairing, with explicit agreement that 'Henry and Smith is good.'

Insight page

DK Metcalf

NegativeRole42:00

D.K. Metcalf was available as a flex option on Team 6, part of the bench depth after the starting lineup of JSN, Pickens, Flowers, Swift, Brooks, and Dobbins.

Insight page

Drake London

PositiveRole61:08

Identified as a player Heath loves and will take early in drafts as part of his conviction-based strategy of targeting his preferred receivers.

Insight page

Drake Maye

PositiveValue30:20

Top-three quarterback taken in round six, described as going late relative to typical draft expectations; the source notes Drake May is unlikely to fall to round six in most drafts, making this a value opportunity if he does.

Insight page

Emanuel Wilson

NegativeRole0:25

Will be used to some degree in the Seahawks backfield until Zach Charbonnet returns from injury.

Insight page

Erick All

NegativeRole10:05

Eric All is a late-round name to know for tight end premium leagues with the Bengals, though the source can't imagine people will be drafting him in standard formats.

Insight page

Garrett Wilson

NegativeValue40:57

The source views Garrett Wilson's ADP as being in the appropriate range for his talent level; no upside or downside is implied.

Insight page
NegativeValue49:51

Wilson was selected in the running back-receiver-running back-receiver draft pattern as part of a balanced build.

Insight page

George Holani

NegativeRole0:09

Per Andrew Destin of The Athletic, will be the third-down back and also handle short-yardage and goal-line work early in the season; source has been drafting him late as a dart throw to monitor the Seahawks backfield situation, noting he remains a good late-round stash option, especially if you have an IR spot or a player you want to drop.

Insight page
NegativeRole3:14

Helani is widely available and can be stashed early in the season as the Seahawks backfield is in a discovery phase; however, his role is uncertain given the presence of Jadarian Price and Zach Charbonnet's eventual return.

Insight page

George Kittle

NegativeProjection10:30

George Kittle won't play his usual 95% of snaps in week one but could still play around 80% snap share, indicating a potential snap count management situation early in the season.

Insight page
PositiveValue46:09

George Kittle is Team Eight's tight end, selected in round eight. The source highlights Team Eight's roster construction, noting that the team features 'nothing but running backs and receivers in the first seven rounds' before pivoting to Kittle, suggesting strong positional value and a disciplined draft strategy.

Insight page

George Pickens

PositiveValue40:40

George Pickens paired with Jackson Smith-Njigba as the first two receivers in Team 6 is described as a great duo that no one will complain about; the source notes this is a strong foundation for a receiver-heavy build despite the running back depth concerns that follow.

Insight page
PositiveBreakout63:39

The speaker likes Pickens and really wants to draft him, but has never taken him in any league; he identifies Pickens as the Cowboys player he really needs to start drafting in his remaining three drafts.

Insight page

J.K. Dobbins

NegativeRole42:00

J.K. Dobbins was selected as one of three running backs on Team 6 (alongside DeAndre Swift and Jonathan Brooks), part of a receiver-heavy build that left the team with running back depth concerns.

Insight page

Ja'Marr Chase

NegativeValue22:48

Source took Chase instead of B.J. Robinson in round one; source notes that taking a running back like Robinson in round one is likely to feel more comfortable because running backs dry up quickly in the draft.

Insight page
PositiveRole24:12

Source selected Chase as a wide receiver in an early round (round two based on context), supporting a wide receiver-heavy build strategy. Source discusses Chase as part of a potential elite stud core alongside Rice and McBride.

Insight page
PositiveValue33:06

Wide receiver expected to be taken at pick three in most leagues; the source notes that in a scenario where Chase is taken at three instead of Bijon Robinson, the drafter would still take AJ Brown in late round two, indicating Chase's value and the flexibility of the build around him.

Insight page

Jadarian Price

PositiveRole0:22

Expected to get the majority of touches in the Seahawks backfield early in the season, though George Helani will handle some third-down, short-yardage, and goal-line work; source recommends drafting him as a low-end number two running back, potentially as early as round five.

Insight page
NegativeRole4:07

Price is a first-round pick with plenty of talent and upside but faces significant uncertainty: he has been a part-time running back who must prove himself; the Seahawks backfield has 400 vacated touches available, but Price's role is unclear given George Helani's presence and Zach Charbonnet's eventual return; there is bust potential if Charbonnet reclaims his prior goal-line and two-minute drill role, similar to how he limited Kenneth Walker's touchdown opportunities.

Insight page

Jalen Hurts

NegativeRole42:00

Jalen Hurts was selected as the quarterback on Team 6 in round eight, following a receiver-heavy build in the first three rounds.

Insight page

James Cook

PositiveProjection46:46

James Cook is Team Eight's first-round pick. The source notes that in a PPR league, Cook is among the team's first five selections (Cook, Barkley, Higgins, Kyron Williams, Watson) and points out that 'none of those guys are catch standouts.' However, the source expects Cook to be 'more involved in their offenses catching the ball this year than they were last year,' suggesting improved PPR value.

Insight page

Jared Goff

PositiveValue46:21

Jared Goff is mentioned as a potential alternative to Dak Prescott at the 113th overall pick for Team Eight. The source suggests Goff would have been a better selection at that draft position, implying superior value compared to Prescott.

Insight page

Javonte Williams

PositiveValue25:20

Source prefers Williams' value over Travis Etienne in round three, noting that Williams went after Etienne in ADP and represents a better running back selection.

Insight page
PositiveValue27:24

The source identifies Javante Williams as the running back he would have selected if committed to taking an RB in round two, indicating Williams is a preferred early-round running back option in draft strategy.

Insight page
PositiveValue40:51

The source rates Javante Williams as an early round three running back talent, and notes that his late round three ADP in this draft represents good value relative to his true tier.

Insight page
NegativeValue43:00

Javante Williams was available in the third round but was not selected on Team 6; the source questions whether the team should have considered him instead of Zay Flowers, noting he could have been paired with DeAndre Swift to improve running back depth.

Insight page
NegativeValue49:51

Williams was selected in the running back-receiver-running back-receiver draft pattern as part of a balanced build.

Insight page
NegativeDepth Chart63:54

Kept as a keeper by Spencer (Brett Frankel's 15-year-old son) in a keeper league draft.

Insight page

Jaylen Waddle

NegativeValue40:44

The source identifies Jaylen Waddle as a potential alternative receiver option at 34th overall instead of Luther Burden, suggesting he makes sense as a comparable pick.

Insight page

Jeremiyah Love

PositiveValue25:20

Source prefers Love's upside over Travis Etienne in round three, noting that Love went after Etienne in ADP and represents better value at the running back position.

Insight page
PositiveValue27:24

The source considers Jeremiah Love as a preferred running back option in early-round selections, suggesting he would have been the choice if committed to taking a running back in round two, positioning him as a value alternative to other early-round RB targets.

Insight page

Joe Burrow

PositiveValue40:21

The source calls Joe Burrow an absolute steal in round seven, indicating the quarterback was acquired well below his expected ADP and represents strong value.

Insight page
PositiveValue49:56

Burrow was drafted 81st overall and is cited as insane value, representing a significant bargain at quarterback.

Insight page

Jonathan Taylor

NegativeValue49:51

Taylor was selected first overall in a draft build, paired with Justin Jefferson in a running back-receiver-running back-receiver pattern.

Insight page
PositiveProjection50:18

The source believes Jonathan Taylor should go before ninth overall in drafts, indicating he is undervalued at his current ADP and represents strong value in the first round.

Insight page

Jonathon Brooks

NegativeRole42:00

Jonathan Brooks was selected as one of three running backs on Team 6 (alongside DeAndre Swift and J.K. Dobbins), part of a receiver-heavy build that left the team with running back depth concerns.

Insight page
NegativeDepth Chart44:45

Jonathan Brooks is Team Six's RB2, part of a roster that includes Sam Laporta at tight end. The source compares Team Six's running back depth unfavorably to Team Four's, which features Ramondre Stevenson as RB2.

Insight page

Josh Allen

NegativeValue43:15

Josh Allen was taken in round four of a draft, with the source noting he felt Allen 'fell too far' and was worth the early quarterback selection.

Insight page
PositiveValue45:05

Josh Allen was selected 42nd overall in round four by Team Seven (Jamie's team), which the source identifies as 'the only quarterback you would have taken there.' This represents strong value for a top-tier quarterback at that draft position.

Insight page
NegativeValue48:28

Allen was drafted early at quarterback, but the source expresses regret about the position selection timing rather than the player choice itself.

Insight page

Justin Jefferson

PositiveValue40:27

The source views Justin Jefferson as good value in the round-one-to-round-two range where he is currently being drafted; while acknowledging he has been seen as late round one or early round two, the source considers this range appropriate and a solid pick.

Insight page
NegativeValue50:03

Jefferson was selected second overall in a draft build, but the source questions whether he was the right pick over Barkley and Henry at that position.

Insight page

Juwan Johnson

NegativeDepth Chart46:09

Juwan Johnson is Team Eight's backup tight end, selected to support George Kittle. The source mentions Johnson as part of the team's tight end depth but does not provide specific analysis of his value or role.

Insight page

Kenneth Walker III

NegativeProjection3:37

Walker finished as RB 28 overall and RB 28 per game last season despite averaging 4.6 yards per carry over a full season; his limited touchdown share (only five) relative to Zach Charbonnet's dominance in the red zone explains his mid-tier finish despite solid efficiency.

Insight page
PositiveValue40:37

The source identifies Kenneth Walker as one of two favorite running backs in the draft (alongside Chase Brown), indicating strong approval of his draft capital and role.

Insight page

Kyle Pitts

NegativeRole61:45

Drafted by Heath in the IDP draft instead of Laporta, showing diversification in his tight end selection across multiple drafts.

Insight page

Kyren Williams

NegativeValue43:00

Kyren Williams was available in the third round but was not selected on Team 6; the source questions whether the team should have considered him instead of Zay Flowers to improve running back depth.

Insight page
NegativeProjection46:46

Kyron Williams is Team Eight's fourth-round pick. The source includes him among the team's first five selections (Cook, Barkley, Higgins, Kyron Williams, Watson) and notes that none of these players are 'catch standouts,' but the analysis is cut off before providing specific commentary on Williams.

Insight page
PositiveValue46:52

The source identifies Kyron Williams as amazing value in round four, with his fall to that spot representing a significant draft opportunity.

Insight page

Ladd McConkey

PositiveValue40:37

The source praises getting Lad McConkey in round four as amazing value, and notes he would have preferred McConkey over the receivers selected earlier in the draft.

Insight page

Luther Burden

NegativeValue40:44

The source notes that Luther Burden at 34th overall could have been replaced by alternative receivers like McMillan, Waddle, or McConkey, and that McConkey in round four would have been preferable; this suggests Burden may not be the optimal pick at that spot.

Insight page

MarShawn Lloyd

PositiveValue49:25

The source expresses strong preference for Marshawn Lloyd, stating he would have taken him even as a fourth running back in round six if he had made it back, indicating high conviction on his value.

Insight page

Marvin Harrison Jr.

PositiveProjection45:15

Marvin Harrison Jr. is Team Seven's third receiver, part of a balanced roster that the source describes as 'a really good team' with strong quarterback value and no issues with the early-round selections.

Insight page

Michael Wilson

PositiveValue10:41

Michael Wilson signed a three-year $70 million extension with $47 million guaranteed from the Cardinals. Wilson and Parker Washington had similar career arcs in their first 36-38 games (both did basically nothing early) before finishing with an absolute blitz of production, suggesting Wilson could be poised for a breakout.

Insight page

Mike Washington Jr.

PositiveBreakout6:27

Ian Rappaport has been steadily reporting that Mike Washington Jr. will be a significant contributor this year, suggesting emerging breakout potential.

Insight page
PositiveRole32:08

Running back drafted in round seven as a handcuff/backup option; the source notes that if Ashton Gentry does not play in week one, Mike Washington would become the team's RB2, indicating contingency value in the selection.

Insight page

Najee Harris

NegativeRole32:34

Running back drafted in round 13 as part of a late-round running back accumulation strategy; included in the source's plan to find depth at the position through volume late-round selections in a build that intentionally weakens the RB2 position early.

Insight page

Parker Washington

PositiveRole32:41

Wide receiver included in the starting lineup as part of a terrific trio of receivers (AJ Brown, DJ Moore, Parker Washington) in a three-receiver league build; the source describes this receiving corps as terrific.

Insight page

Quinshon Judkins

PositiveProjection22:29

Source drafted Judkins as a running back in a pick-by-pick team; part of a roster built around high-end potential at running back, tight end, and receiver positions.

Insight page
PositiveValue25:39

Source suggests Judkins as a late round four option in a zero RB approach, indicating he represents good value when running backs are hammered later in the draft after securing elite wide receivers and tight ends.

Insight page
NegativeValue29:00

The source explicitly states he did not want Quinchon Judkins to be his RB1, indicating a lack of confidence in Judkins as a primary running back option in his draft strategy.

Insight page
PositiveValue31:27

Running back passed over for DJ Moore in the draft but expected to be close in value by season's end in full PPR scoring; the source's hesitation to take Judkins was driven by the team's weak RB2 situation rather than a knock on Judkins' talent or projection.

Insight page

Rashee Rice

NegativeRole23:40

Rice is discussed as part of a team build alongside either Jamar Chase and Travis Etienne or B.J. Robinson and Devante Smith, indicating Rice as a consistent early-round wide receiver selection in the draft strategy being reviewed.

Insight page

Rhamondre Stevenson

NegativeRole5:20

Stevenson is now in the conversation with other uncertain mid-round running backs (rounds five through seven), but Trevion Henderson is still looming as a potential threat to his role.

Insight page
PositiveRole6:49

Travion Henderson was not seen at practice, which strengthens Ramondre Stevenson's lead-back role heading into week one against Seattle and New England—two of the NFL's best run defenses from last year.

Insight page
NegativeMatchup7:17

Stevenson has passed Travion Henderson in ADP; however, week one matchups against Seattle and New England—two of the NFL's best run defenses from last year—present a challenging early-season outlook.

Insight page
PositiveDepth Chart44:45

Ramondre Stevenson is Team Four's RB2, contributing to that team's superior running back depth compared to Team Six, which has Jonathan Brooks as RB2. The source notes that Team Four 'has better running back depth' overall despite other roster trade-offs.

Insight page

Rico Dowdle

NegativeRole22:32

Listed as flex option on source's roster; indicates depth chart position and potential playing time role.

Insight page

Sam LaPorta

NegativeRole42:00

Sam LaPorta was selected as the tight end on Team 6 in round seven, part of a receiver-heavy build that prioritized three receivers in the first three rounds.

Insight page
PositiveDepth Chart44:45

Sam Laporta is Team Six's tight end selection. The source indicates Laporta represents better tight end value than Team Four's Dallas Goedert, though Team Six sacrifices running back depth to achieve this.

Insight page

Saquon Barkley

NegativeValue40:18

The source mentions Saquon Barkley as a running back option that was passed over in round two in favor of Justin Jefferson, suggesting Barkley was in consideration at that draft position.

Insight page
PositiveRole46:37

The source expects Barkley to be more involved in his offense catching the ball this year than he was last year, indicating an expanded pass-game role.

Insight page
PositiveProjection46:46

Saquon Barkley is Team Eight's second-round pick. The source notes that in a PPR league, Barkley is among the team's first five selections and observes that none of the top five are 'catch standouts.' However, the source expects Barkley to be 'more involved in their offenses catching the ball this year than they were last year,' indicating improved PPR production potential.

Insight page
PositiveValue63:04

The speaker likes Barkley but has not taken him in any league because he usually ends up taking Walker and Hampton ahead of him; he was planning to draft Barkley in a recent draft but McCaffrey was the better value in the first round.

Insight page

Stefon Diggs

NegativeValue40:51

The source mentions Stefon Diggs as a potential alternative receiver option in the draft, suggesting he was available and could have been selected instead of Luther Burden or other receivers.

Insight page

Ted Ginn Jr.

NegativeRole61:12

Drafted by Heath over some other receivers that might be considered better, as an example of Heath's conviction-based strategy of taking his guys.

Insight page

Tee Higgins

PositiveProjection46:44

If healthy, Higgins will offset some reception issues with his touchdown production, suggesting strong scoring upside when available.

Insight page

Terry McLaurin

PositiveProjection21:06

Source likes McLaurin as a receiver in a three-receiver PPR league; indicates confidence in his performance.

Insight page

Travis Etienne

NegativeValue24:24

Taken in round three ahead of ADP; source questions whether this was a mistake, noting that Jeremiah Love and Javante Williams both went after Etienne and represent better value. Source prefers Love's upside over Etienne despite acknowledging Etienne was a productive running back in Jacksonville last year and should be a feature back for the Saints.

Insight page
NegativeRole29:00

The source took Travis Etienne in round three but would not have done so if he felt confident that DeAndre Swift or Bucky Irving would be available in round four; the source believed those two RBs would be taken earlier than ADP suggested, forcing the round-three Etienne selection.

Insight page

Travis Kelce

NegativeValue23:09

Source took Kelce a little bit ahead of his ADP in the draft; indicates he was selected earlier than typical market expectations.

Insight page

Tre Tucker

NegativeRole42:00

Trey Tucker was selected as bench depth on Team 6, part of the overall roster construction.

Insight page

TreVeyon Henderson

NegativeRole5:20

Henderson is looming as a potential threat to Ramondre Stevenson's role in the Patriots backfield.

Insight page

Trevor Lawrence

NegativeProjection22:09

Source drafted Lawrence as quarterback in a pick-by-pick team; indicates his selection as the team's signal-caller.

Insight page

Trey McBride

PositiveProjection25:33

Source believes McBride is a difference-making tight end for fantasy, ranking him real close to or ahead of Bowers in full PPR scoring. Source suggests McBride should have been selected in round three instead of Travis Etienne, as part of a zero RB approach with elite wide receivers.

Insight page
PositiveValue25:39

Early round three tight end selection in a draft build that pairs an elite tight end with a top-three quarterback (Drake May) in the first six picks; the source notes this is a team construction that works but acknowledges a slight preference for waiting until round six or later before taking both a top-tier tight end and top-tier quarterback, as it provides more roster-building flexibility.

Insight page
PositiveValue28:00

The source would have selected Trey McBride at tight end in round two as a differentiator strategy, planning to find running back depth later in round four rather than taking an early-round RB, positioning McBride as a premium tight end target.

Insight page

Treylon Burks

NegativeRole

Treylon Burks is mentioned as a late-round flyer option, though the source doesn't provide specific details about his role or upside in this segment.

Insight page

Tucker Kraft

PositiveBreakout62:19

The source hated the Tucker Kraft pick from last year but it ended up being one of his best picks in a Super Flex League, illustrating how conviction picks can work out despite initial skepticism.

Insight page

Tyler Warren

PositiveValue49:54

The source highlights Tyler Warren as a 57th overall pick and describes it as really good value, indicating the tight end was acquired well below his expected ADP.

Insight page

Woody Marks

NegativeRole4:47

Marks could be in an even split with Montgomery in the backfield, creating uncertainty for both backs in that situation.

Insight page
NegativeRole8:47

Woody Marks will not have an even split with David Montgomery in carries; he's expected to operate primarily on passing downs and in no-huddle situations, with minimal goal-line usage. The source would be shocked to draft Marks unless in a very late round.

Insight page
NegativeRole42:00

Woody Marks was selected as bench depth on Team 6, part of the running back group after the receiver-heavy start.

Zach Charbonnet

NegativeInjury0:25

Expected to return to the Seahawks backfield at some point; currently out, with Jadarian Price, George Helani, and Emmanuel Wilson sharing duties in the interim.

NegativeBust3:37

If Helani is used early and Charbonnet returns to his prior role as the primary touchdown back and goal-line back (as he was last season), there is clear bust potential for Jadarian Price; Charbonnet's historical usage pattern (receiving most touchdowns while Walker had only five) suggests Price could face similar touchdown scarcity.

NegativeRole32:34

Running back drafted in round 10 as part of a late-round running back accumulation strategy in a build that intentionally weakens the RB2 position early; included in the source's plan to find depth at the position through volume late-round selections.

Zay Flowers

NegativeInjury7:17

Zay Flowers was seen practicing, indicating no current injury concerns heading into the season.

NegativeValue43:00

Zay Flowers was taken in round three of Team 6, but the source would have preferred a running back or a different receiver like DeVonta Smith or T. Higgins in that spot, suggesting Flowers was a reach given the team's later running back depth concerns.

PositiveValue61:01

Taken in the middle of round three, slightly early but ahead of other receivers expected to go before him in most drafts; the source notes this as an example of Heath's strategy of taking his guys early.

0:00This is Fantasy Football Today from CBS Sports. What a play!
0:03Can you believe this? He had no idea. It's time to dominate your fantasy league.
0:08Off to the races! And he stays on his feet!
0:11He's just gonna go the distance! Now here's some combination of Adam Azer, Dave Richard, Jamie Eisenberg, and Heath Cummings.
0:17Happy Friday everybody! Welcome to the show. The next time I say happy Friday to you, we'll be breaking down the NFC home games for week one.
0:25Dave and Jamie, we've pretty much made it. Kind of crazy, right?
0:29I mean, how many more drafts do you have left, Jamie?
0:33Oh boy, another guillotine draft tonight. I have one Sunday, no, two Sunday, one Monday, one Tuesday.
0:38So four or five left. Dave? Not nearly as many.
0:41I've got an auction draft this afternoon. I've got my Keeper League draft on the 7th.
0:46We have the FFT draft, if we're doing that league again, Jamie.
0:49We've got that at some point soon. Tuesday. That's it.
0:52I'm keeping my number low this year. My focus is on the job, not my team's.
0:57Yeah, fair enough. All right, well, it's a fun weekend for a lot of people.
1:02A lot of fantasy drafts going on. Obviously a holiday weekend.
1:05And we are maybe going to do a show Sunday night instead of Monday morning, but we will have a Labor Day show for you in some capacity.
1:14And I'll give you a programming update soon. Today on the show, we're going to review our pick-by-pick series.
1:20And I think that's better than a mock draft at this point because we can just give you some takeaways from what we've already done.
1:27And I asked on Twitter, what are some of the toughest calls that you've encountered during your drafts?
1:33I'll read some of those. Oh, nice. Yeah, and let's get into the news and notes, though.
1:38We had a little bit of a Bears scare yesterday.
1:41Romo Dunze and DeAndre Swift both left with injuries, but Swift, it was just a cramp, and Odunze is reportedly fine.
1:48Good. So we shouldn't care about the Bears scare?
1:50I think that's fair. All right. Are you a Care Bear?
1:54Oh, I used to love the Care Bears. Just to no one's surprise.
1:58Here we go. So anyway. Text Heath. What the hell was I saying?
2:02Did you guys change your rankings at all for Swift and Odunze?
2:05No. I used to love the Care Bears, in quotes.
2:09Andrew Destin of The Athletic thinks that George Helani will be the third down back, but also the short yardage and goal line back early in the season.
2:17Okay, Jamie, what's your reaction to that? Of George Helani potentially being the goal line back?
2:22Look, they weren't going to put everything on Jadarian Price's plate.
2:25They're going to use Helani and Emmanuel Wilson to some degree until Zach Charbonnet's back.
2:30The hope is that Price gets the majority of touches and is not a trap back.
2:35So I think you should still go into the draft process, or if you've already drafted, have Price as a low-end number two running back.
2:43I would take him as early as round five.
2:45You know I've been drafting a lot of George Helani late just to see what this would look like and how it all will play out.
2:53He's still a good dart throw late in your drafts.
2:56And probably by the time you're listening to this, you'll see the last ADP review for our CBS Sports data, along with
3:03an early look at the waiver wire. It's a combination of both.
3:07And Helani will be mentioned in there just as if you have an IR spot that you can use or if you
3:14just have someone that you hate and you want to drop.
3:17You can stash. You know, George Helani is among many players that you can stash that are widely available in our leagues.
3:24So I think it's just we're in a discovery phase early in the season with the Seahawks backfield.
3:29So that's a great way to put it. Okay, but if Helani is this is exactly what Zach Charbonnet was and Kenneth Walker was RB 28.
3:37He had a good year last year. He averaged 4.6 yards per carry.
3:41He played a full season. He was RB 22 overall.
3:44He was RB 28 per game in basically every format.
3:47And that's because he wasn't the third down back.
3:50He wasn't the two-minute drill back and he wasn't the goal line back.
3:54Zach Charbonnet got all the touchdowns basically not all the touchdowns, but only five for Walker.
3:59So if they use Helani and then eventually Charbonnet comes back the way Charbonnet was used last year, then you could clearly see bust potential.
4:07Am I overreacting here for Jadarian Price? I think a lot of people are going to be concerned about that.
4:13I mean there's obviously bust potential when you're talking about uncertainty for both sides of it.
4:18There's uncertainty in how good Price can be. There's uncertainty in how they're going to use everybody.
4:23There's uncertainty on the timeline for Zach Charbonnet. So the thing that you're kind of hanging your hat on is that George Helani has never really done anything.
4:32That Jadarian Price has been a part-time running back and has to prove himself, but it was also a first-round pick and has plenty of talent and upside.
4:40And then again, what version of Charbonnet are we going to see when he comes back, if he comes back early in the season?
4:47So it's just a lot of moving parts. I think when you start to compare him to those other guys in that
4:54range of Scadaboo, who could be in a timeshare, of Montgomery, who has, you know, if you're watching, you see the report
5:01that there could be an even split between him and Woody Marks with a questionable offensive line.
5:06That you have Basial Tootin, who could be in a timeshare and may not even be the better running back in the
5:13timeshare or could be similar to Price where he's losing touchdown opportunities.
5:17So it's that whole round five through round seven group of guys.
5:20Ramondre Stevenson is now in this conversation, but we know Trevion Henderson is still looming.
5:25So, I mean, it's just a matter of like when you want to, you know, dip your toe into this pool of
5:32backs, how confident and how comfortable you are with them as starters.
5:35Uh, I would just look at it as there's 400 vacated touches in the Seahawks backfield.
5:40If you like Jadarian Price and his situation, you should be overly excited about just that possibility alone.
5:46You could potentially be terrified about the possibility of everything else that's around surrounding him with Helani and Charbonnet.
5:52So if, if you don't want to draft any of those running backs, it's easy to pivot to wide receiver and then
5:58just kind of go back to the, go to the next group of guys, which might be in a similar situation.
6:05Jordan Mason, the commanders guys, the Steelers guys, you know, we talked about this a lot.
6:10Sure. And that's one of the tough calls that, uh, one of our listeners, let's see, uh, let's have some fun on
6:16Twitter said tough call is what to do in the mid with the mid round running back.
6:22Sometimes you have to take some, but starting at the middle of the fifth, I get nervous.
6:27And yeah, I think that's kind of what we're talking about.
6:30Understood. If, if you're too nervous, if you're identifying yourself as someone who hates that, then take too early, you know, and,
6:37and don't be so reliant on that group. Um, all right.
6:40Uh, Ian Rappaport thinks Mike Washington jr. Will be a thing this year.
6:44So that's kind of been a steady drum beat for a little while here.
6:49Yep. Travion Henderson was not seen at practice. It's obviously could make you feel pretty good about Ramondre early because they're a week away from, their first game.
6:57They play on Wednesday, but Seattle, Seattle, New England week one, those two run defenses were absolutely, uh, shut down, lockdown, arguably
7:04the best in the NFL last year. I don't know what we're going to get from the running backs in week one.
7:11Uh, we have finally seen Stevenson pass Henderson and ADP.
7:14Hey, how about that? Um, okay. Zay, Zay flowers practiced.
7:17Anthony Richardson is Indianapolis is backup, which man, I don't know from a receiver perspective, if you could have a much worse backup, you know, I don't know.
7:25He looked much better though in the preseason. Like I, I think you got to give him a little bit of credit
7:32for some of the work that he's put in.
7:35Okay. Okay. I mean, look, he's, he's never going to be, Oh, Hey, look, that's the guy I want to watch throw the football because it's pretty.
7:43But you know, if he continues to work on his mechanics and, and builds off of what they've tried to do with him, I would not be surprised.
7:52If he becomes a reclamation project someplace else, if given a chance to compete for a starting job.
7:57And look, Daniel Jones has had a rough time staying healthy in his career.
8:02So it could be something that is relevant for the Colts at some point this season also.
8:07So dynasty leagues super flex, mostly he still might be somebody you should keep on your bench.
8:12Yeah. That's kind of why I brought it up because Daniel Jones does have that injury history.
8:17Cam Scadaboo said he thought about retiring after his ankle injury last season.
8:21He said he told himself if he had a serious injury in the NFL, that'd be it.
8:27But it wasn't. Thankfully he's back. Dave Texans beat writer, Jonathan M.
8:30Alexander. Jamie just kind of mentioned this. He reported, he thinks that Dave Montgomery and Woody Marks will have a fairly even split.
8:37What do you think? I'd be surprised if they had an even split in terms of rushes.
8:42And I saw what you were talking about. He thinks they're both going to get 800 rushing yards this year.
8:49That would surprise me. If you were to tell me that they were each going to get, I don't even think 800 total yards is in play.
8:57Let's call it 600 total yards. I think Montgomery blows past that as long as he's healthy, but I think Montgomery can get there or I'm sorry.
9:05Marks can get there between just catches and playing on passing downs, no huddle offense, that type of role.
9:11I think that's his role. And I'd be shocked if they put him anywhere near the goal line, unless it was in
9:18a specific situation like the hurry up offense, maybe third down, third and goal, something like that.
9:23I think Montgomery is obviously still a decent pick, but he's in that round five blob of running backs that you look
9:30at and you go, okay, there's a pathway to them being great.
9:33And there's also a pathway to them being absolutely terrible.
9:36I'd be shocked. I really would be. And I don't like drafting marks unless it's with a very, very late round pick.
9:43Matt Barrows of the athletics says that the plan for Dijon Stribbling is for him to be the primary slot receiver and
9:50to be Mike Evans understudy as the X receiver.
9:53They want versatility in their receiving core. He also says that Debo Samuel.
9:57What's that? That's interesting because they could just as easily put Debo in the slot.
10:01Yeah, they're probably going to mix and match. If they put Stribbling in the slot heavily, that's a matchup problem.
10:07For smaller corners because Stribbling's a big dude. So I, and we've saw him run a bunch of horizontal routes in the preseason.
10:14I would imagine that they would ask him to do something like that.
10:18He's also an interesting late round pick, certainly more interesting than Woody Marks.
10:22The Cardinals signed Michael Wilson. Oh, he also said that Debo Samuel looked good and they haven't been shy to give him carries.
10:30He always looks good this time of year. And George Kittle won't play his usual 95% of the snaps in week one,
10:36but that doesn't mean he won't play 80%. Just he won't play a full snap share.
10:41The Cardinals signed Michael Wilson to a three-year $70 million extension with $47 million guaranteed.
10:46I'm not going to give the numbers because we're running out of time, but Michael Wilson and Parker Washington, same draft class, pretty similar career arc.
10:54Michael Wilson, first 38 games. Parker Washington, first 36.
10:57Basically did nothing and then finished with an absolute blitz.
11:00It was amazing. And a few late round players that have gotten some buzz that I basically never mentioned.
11:05Adonai Mitchell for the Jets. Rashid Shahid for the Seahawks.
11:08Eric all for the Bengals. I can't imagine people are going to be drafting Eric all, but a name to know maybe in tight end premium.
11:16And you guys like Adonai Mitchell or Rashid Shahid better as a late round flyer.
11:21Mitchell. Sheet. Mitchell's been getting buzz all camp long.
11:24And I think he's their number two wide receiver and probably their number two target in that offense.
11:29The problem is, is it's the Jets offense. But if you're just taking shots on wide receivers with late round picks, he's toward the bottom of the list.
11:38Like, stripling easy. You're taking him three rounds before you would even think about Adonai Mitchell.
11:43Yeah. The thing about Shahid is they didn't use him enough last year.
11:47You have Kupp at 33 and another injury for Torrey Horton.
11:50Yeah. You want to hear something gross? I like Kuppers.
11:53I think that is weird, not gross. I wouldn't be surprised if Cooper Cupp had a decent role and that could hurt the upside of Shahid.
12:01I thought you were going to say. Yeah. I mean, you can say the same thing about, you know, Sadiq in New
12:08York and Omar Cooper when those guys are finally up to speed.
12:12Right. When they're ready. They're not ready. Yeah. All right.
12:15So who are, what are some tough calls that the listeners had?
12:18John Seeley says, I had Pickens, Collins, London, and AJ Brown fall to me at the two, three turn.
12:24That's pretty cool. Maybe 10 team league Pickens, Collins, London, AJ Brown.
12:28I went London and AJ Brown, but that was a tough call.
12:32Did he get it right? One hundred percent got it right.
12:35I mean, it's it's tough call because they're all great players, but I think the upside favors the two that you took.
12:42OJ Weber and actually other people, too. But OJ Weber, who donated to St.
12:46Jude and will be co-managing the FFT team with Dan Schneier this year, which two wide receivers.
12:51Long time donator, too. Yeah. Yeah. Which two wide receivers should I draft at the three, four turn?
12:57Which two? Yeah. What's your ideal? Jamar Chase and Pukenikua.
13:00Yeah. I mean, ideally, Devontae Smith falls there. Sure.
13:03If possible. I love Lad McConkie there. How about Garrett Wilson?
13:06If he's there, Wilson would be behind those guys.
13:09But yeah, Wilson's in that conversation. Yep. DJ Moore, Jalen Waddell, you know, depending on how heavy wide receivers go.
13:15There's so many options there. So I'm looking at Fantasy Pros ADP.
13:19These are the wide receivers, 36 through 46. We've got Garrett Wilson, Ted Aroa, Zay, Burden T, Devontae McConkie.
13:24Those two are at the bottom? That's not hard.
13:27Devontae? No way. Devontae is 45th in ADP on Fantasy Pros right now.
13:31Well, in their real-time ADP, he's 30th. Yeah. That's weird.
13:34I think, okay, the real-time ADP is McConkie. Just use ours.
13:38Ours is very accurate. Okay. McConkie, Higgins, Flowers, Waddell, McMillan, Wilson.
13:41Abuka. All make sense. Yeah. My two would be of those.
13:44It would be the first two for me, McConkie and Higgins.
13:48Yeah. If Smith is there or Flowers is there, I think they're worth two.
13:52But any combination of those type of receivers, Ted Aroa, they're all great.
13:56And that's part of the reason why if you're picking late in round one, you shouldn't be afraid to go RBRB because
14:03these are the receivers that will make it back.
14:06You have to like these wide receivers in order to take them in rounds three and four.
14:11But if you're hearing these names and you're going, okay, these guys could be my wide receiver one, wide receiver two, yeah,
14:17this is the reason why starting RBRB does make sense.
14:21Or if you go and you just mix it up and you go Lamb or Jefferson with a running back in your
14:27first two picks, you still have one of these guys as your second receiver.
14:32And then you can still or take two and just go here RBRB.
14:36So you start Chase Brown, CeeDee Lamb, or probably you go Chase Brown, Jefferson in that regard, or Lamb, Hampton.
14:42You might get Lamb-Brown. You could get Lamb-Brown. And then you go two wide receivers, and so you just go with a here RBRB approach.
14:49Right. But then you're in late round five, and we're right back in that conversation we had six minutes ago.
14:56But your receivers are amazing. Yeah, the receivers are amazing.
14:59You can't do this in non-PPR, but in full PPR, that works.
15:02Well, Team 12 did this in the pick-by-pick that we're going to do.
15:06Team 12, do I have that up? Yeah, Team 12 went A-Chan.
15:10Oh, sort of. A-Chan, London, McMillan in round three, and Loveland in round four.
15:14But that could have been McConkie. And then got Scadaboo and Marshawn Lloyd at 60 and 61, which I just don't think,
15:21like Scadaboo at 60 was a real, like, wow, great pick.
15:24But that could have been Montgomery and Marshawn Lloyd, something like that.
15:28Okay. That's pretty – oh, one more tough call from Victor.
15:31Took Puka at seven, couldn't pass Bowers in round two.
15:34So I had a tough call with the running backs still available in a 12-team league.
15:39Yeah, I don't know. So the running backs versus Bowers?
15:42I wasn't sure if he meant the running backs in round three.
15:46That's what I – that's how I'm interpreting it.
15:49Yeah, like if you go the first two rounds without running backs and you have kind of a later pick, or I
15:56guess it doesn't really matter where you pick, which running backs would you like to come away with in rounds three and
16:02four, maybe just one of those two rounds? Three and four?
16:06I think you're looking at Javante. You're looking at Travis A.
16:09Chan, DeAndre Swift, Kyron Williams, Jeremiah Love. You know, that's the group of guys you're dealing with, either late round three or early round four.
16:17So, Breece is in that range too, isn't he?
16:20Breece as well, yeah. Okay, I've got some comments about me that – Of course you've got to read that.
16:26We'll see if – Oh, yeah, look, we're going to read this, sure.
16:30We can save it for the end. One of them is – Aren't you doing a solo show today?
16:36You can just talk about yourself? Yeah, there you go.
16:39It's well, at noon Eastern. Adam looks like he brings a clipboard to a cookout.
16:43What does that mean? I mean, you brought your laptop to a date on the beach.
16:48That's also – it was not a date. We will come back after this with our Pick by Pick series.
16:54Were you meeting a woman there? I was. I married her.
16:58Yes. That sounds like a date. I mean, listen, she loves your quirks.
17:02That's the most important thing. But you did bring a laptop to the beach, correct?
17:06I did because I was that dedicated of an employee.
17:09And I had – And you were wearing jeans correctly?
17:12No, I was not wearing jeans. That's why Nando's an idiot.
17:16I was not wearing jeans to the beach. Did you wear sneakers?
17:19Has Nando spoken to you yet? Are you guys still fighting?
17:23No. We're still – He's still mad at me for something.
17:26I have no freaking idea what he's mad at me about, but he's mad at me and I'm seeing him tomorrow.
17:33All right. We'll talk to you. We'll talk to you in two – we'll be back in two and two on Fantasy Football today.
17:40I'm going to talk to you right now about Omaha Steaks.
17:43And this is a perfect time for me to do it because just last night, I cooked four Omaha Steaks for my family.
17:50And they were awesome and we completely devoured them.
17:53And tonight, Omaha Steaks burgers and hot dogs for the family.
17:57They also have seafood and side dishes. They have so many things at Omaha Steaks.
18:01If you want affordable, easy-to-make, delicious food, Omaha Steaks is honestly a no-brainer.

18:35Terms apply. See site for details. Okay. Here we go with the pick-by-pick.
18:39And yeah, I have just a couple of questions because we'll never get to the whole show if we do our normal thing here.
18:46But all right, pick one was Jamie, right? Yes.
18:49Yes. All right. So you took Jameer Gibbs and then you took Brock Bowers and Chris Olave.
18:54Why did you decide that was the right time to take Brock Bowers?
18:58And which wide receivers would have had to have been on the board for you to not take Brock Bowers at the 2-3 turn?
19:05Oh, I would have been perfectly fine taking Olave and Neighbors or Olave and Devante Smith.
19:10So it really wasn't a question of which receivers were on the board because there was plenty of options for me.
19:17But to walk away with the number one running back and the number one tight end and the upside for both those players, it's hard to pass up.
19:25So that's the range that I like to consider Brock Bowers.
19:29I think you still can get good receivers, as you saw what was available to me in the 5-6, right?
19:35No, the 4-5 turn, excuse me. Terry McCorn was there.
19:38Parker Washington was there. Devante Williams was there. I'm fine with those guys as number two receivers, just knowing that Bowers has the upside that he has.
19:46And if we're being realistic here, the ADP suggests I probably have better options at receiver than those guys if I go that route also.
19:54So no real run on quarterbacks as we see here with Josh Allen not going to round four.
19:59There's probably three or four quarterbacks off the board by that point that pushes some receiver talent back to me or some running back talent back to me.
20:08So I really think Bowers is going to be an absolute monster this season.
20:12Yeah. My question, though, was like if Nico Pickens.
20:15Oh, I'm sorry. You're saying if it was the other way around.
20:19Yeah, yeah, yeah. I got you. If it was Nico, I'm just being realistic, I guess.
20:23Nico Pickens, probably. Rice? Yeah. Yeah, yeah. If like AJ Brown's probably not going to get to the 2-3 turn.
20:30But Nico Pickens, Rice, like two of those three could definitely get there.
20:34Correct. Would you have taken Bowers in that scenario or would you have gone Gibbs receiver receiver?
20:39I would have gone if it was Nico Pickens, Olave, I'd probably take two of those guys.
20:44If it was any of them or sorry, one of them and Rice like it was, I would probably go Bowers.
20:50So I think I have a Bowers-Rice in my rankings.
20:54So I prefer Bowers over Rice. Second question, Jamie, is this is a three receiver league PPR.
20:59So what we're looking at here is pick by pick where me, Dave, Jamie, Heath, Dan, and Jacob each had two picks.
21:06One pick in the first half, one pick in the second half of the round.
21:10So this is a PPR league with one quarterback, one tight end, two running backs, three receivers, and a flex.
21:16Do you like your receivers? Olave, McLaurin, Brian Thomas Jr.?
21:19Yes, but you have to throw Bowers in the conversation there just based on what the upside is.
21:25So I love Olave. I like McLaurin. A little concerned about Thomas.
21:29You know, so I don't remember who the fourth receiver is.
21:32I'm sorry. Carnell. Yeah. So it starts, you know, it's a very slippery slope as we get down there, you know, in
21:39terms of who the other players are. And since doing this draft, I've dropped Tate even further.
21:44So I would have taken Sutton. I think just, again, the idea would be is you have to understand when you take
21:51a tight end early or if you want to, you know, make it a quarterback early that you're going to be a little deficient someplace else.
21:59And so my hole in this roster is number three receiver.
22:02So the high end potential of this team, though, is number one running back, number one tight end, potential top five receiver.
22:09And then. And then decent number two receiver, decent number two running back, you know, but like this is I don't want
22:15to say it's like a studs and duds approach, but it's very high end in terms of if those guys hit to
22:22the potential that they're going to hit. Like, that's what you're looking at for those three guys to, you know, basically carry
22:29a lot of what my team is going to be.
22:32OK. And his quarterback is Trevor Lawrence. So team one team one is fun.
22:36I came up with a really fun team names for all these.
22:40One is fun as Trevor Lawrence, a quarterback. Brock Bowers at tight end.
22:44Jameer Gibbs, Quinshawn Judkins at running back. Olave McLaurin, Brian Thomas Jr.
22:48And the flex will be Rico Dowdle or Carnell Tate.
22:51OK, next team. Team two. Two. I have a question for you.
22:54Yeah. OK, so go ahead to set up your team.
22:57Two loves you is team two. And I took Jamar Chase instead of B.
23:02John Robinson. And I will tell you that if you have that decision, you're probably going to feel a lot more comfortable
23:09with your team if you take B. John Robinson around one, just because the things we've been talking about for the last
23:15eight years, those those running backs, they dry up pretty quickly.
23:19But what's your question? That was my question going to be.
23:22So knowing that you can get two receivers in rounds two and three, most likely.
23:27Now you took Travis H and a little bit ahead of his ADP.
23:31And I think a lot of people have him ranked.
23:34But if you look at the way that it would have played out.
23:38So B. John Rice, let's say you go neighbors.
23:40You like your start better? I like Devante Smith better than neighbors.
23:44So B. OK, so B. John, B. John Smith, B.
23:47John Rice Smith or Chase Rice A. Chan, Travis A.
23:50Chan. Yeah, so it's basically a team with Rasheed Rice and either Jamar Chase and Travis A.
23:55Chan or B. John Robinson, Devante Smith. I would go with B.
23:59John Robinson. So doing again, that's what you would do?
24:02Yeah, it's just like just have this thing where it's like I'd rather trust the Bengals offense than the Falcons offense.
24:09But I understand most people are going to take B.
24:12John, too. That's overwhelmingly the ADP. So, yeah, you're going to feel more comfortable.
24:16Now, right. The question for this team here is, yeah, if you I think this is really more for most people who are picking third.
24:24But for me, it's picking second because I did go Jamar Chase.
24:27And if you go wide receiver, wide receiver, what do you do in round three?
24:32You know, because whichever running back you take there, unless Gentry falls to you, is going to be a quote unquote reach based on average draft position.
24:40Did I take Travis A. Chan too early? I also could have taken Jeremiah Love, Javante Williams, Brees Hall, Kyron Williams, DeAndre Swift or something like that.
24:49Did I make a mistake, Dave, in taking Travis A.
24:52Chan? Because we just talked about all those running backs in round five.
24:56I don't want to be so reliant. I don't want to have two guys after the first four rounds.
25:01You know, so I'm OK with it, but don't love it.
25:05But did I make a mistake with A. Chan in round three?
25:08I think you made a mistake on two fronts.
25:11Number one, I would have taken Jeremiah Love and his upside over Travis A.
25:16Chan. I understand that A. Chan was a good running back last year in Jacksville.
25:20Really, he got a lot of work. He's in a good offense again this year.
25:25We think we are going to see good things from the Saints.
25:28And he should be a feature back there. I would rather have Jeremiah Love.
25:33I would rather have Javante Williams. Both of them went after A.
25:36Chan. So I think you took the wrong running back.
25:39The second one is you passed up Trey McBride, who I'm still believing in as a difference-making tight end for fantasy.
25:46Real close to Bowers, if not ahead of Bowers in full PPR.
25:50In my opinion, he is ahead of Bowers in full PPR.
25:53And if you had gone with that approach of Rice, Chase, and let's say not a running back, you could have just started hammering RBs in round four.
26:02It's kind of a zero RB approach. You could have had Quinshot Judkins in late round four.
26:07You could have had Ramondre or Jadarian Price in round five.
26:10It wouldn't be the best running backs for your team, but you just think about the studs that you would have with
26:17your first three picks, and you'd feel a lot better about it.
26:21I wouldn't feel better about those. Hold on a second.
26:24Hold on a second. We have somebody here joining us.
26:27Oh, come on. Hi, Nando. I don't want to do this.
26:30Hey, man. That's all you said. Call me. Yeah, Adam thinks you're mad at him.
26:35Why? We're probably skipping the party tomorrow because I don't want to hang out.
26:39No way. That can't be. No way. Do you hear him?
26:42Yeah, he'll see. I guess he'll see tomorrow. You don't skip the party.
26:46That's ridiculous. Why would you do that? Why would you punish yourself?
26:50I think you skipped the party. I'm in the same place as Amanda.
26:54What did I do? All right, we'll settle this afterwards.
26:57I don't know why you're mad at him, but we would.
27:00I did literally nothing to this man. You know why.
27:04No, I don't. I honestly don't. I have no idea.
27:07All right, I'll call you back. It's so weird.
27:09It's so weird. All right, bye. Did you tell everybody I'm hurt?
27:13No, bye. All right, all right. I'll talk to you later.
27:16Bye. It's so weird, man. I really like I did nothing.
27:20What did you do? I told him to not try to sell the posters of my brother photoshopped into movie posters or whatever.
27:27I was like, it's not me. It's my brother.
27:30You can't do that. And he got mad at me for that?
27:33I don't know. Anyway, all right. So that's just, you know, look, maybe I took the wrong running back according to Dave.
27:40All right. Let's just say hypothetically, Dave, I had taken Jeremiah Love there.
27:44Would you? Okay. Not Javante Williams. Williams would have been who I would have taken.
27:49If I was dead set on a running back.
27:51That's the one I would have taken. Okay, fine.
27:54Did you consider not taking a running back and just going either Smith or McBride?
27:59So this is, and I think this is a tough spot for people that are picking early in round one.
28:05It is a tough spot. This is tough. So I'm looking at my rankings.
28:09I would have taken McBride and I would have had the differentiator at tight end and then just tried to find some running back starting in round four.
28:18So let me tell you the two, the two guys that if they had made it back to me in round four,
28:25I would have been comfortable with going receiver, receiver, receiver, or receiver, receiver, tight end.
28:29But no, again, Jamie always says, no, you're drafting with.
28:32I didn't think they'd make it to me and they didn't.
28:36ADP says they have a better chance of making it to you at two.
28:40So you have the second pick or the third pick.
28:43You take Jamar Chase, you take a wide receiver.
28:46Then you take another wide receiver or a tight end, Trey McBride.
28:49And if Bucky Irving, not in that order, if DeAndre Swift or Bucky Irving had made it back to me in round
28:56four, if I had felt confident that they would be there, I would not have taken Travis HN in round three.
29:03But I didn't think they would because I know this group and I just felt like they go earlier and they did.
29:09Swift went mid round four. Bucky Irving went two picks before mine.
29:13So those were the two guys that I was thinking, okay, if I could get them as my RB1 in round four and ADP says you could.
29:21So maybe you don't have to, don't have to do what I did.
29:25I just didn't think they'd be there. I didn't want Quinchon Judkins to be my RB1.
29:30There's one other point if I may make it.
29:33Yeah. And then we'll move on to team three.
29:36HN is your guy. You believe in him. You like, you want him on your team.
29:41That might be the most important point we make here.
29:44When you're drafting this weekend, take your guys, get the guy you want.
29:48You don't have to follow ADP. We talk about it all the time.
29:52I think Jamie just mentioned it recently on one of our shows.
29:55It's just something huge. When you like somebody, don't worry about ADP.
29:59Get your guy. And if HN was your guy, then you shouldn't care that, oh, I like Javante better.
30:05You shouldn't care about that. Just get your guy.
30:08All right. Pick three. What is it? Oh, pick one is one is fun.
30:12Pick two is two loves you. Pick three. And three is the broken skull crushers.
30:16Three loves me. Broken skull crushers. B. John Robinson, AJ Brown.
30:20Terrific start. Trey McBride. Was this you, Dave? Yeah.
30:23Okay. Trey McBride. This is a team. Who else would take Trey McBride in early round three?
30:28A lot of people would. And Trey McBride. So this is a team that has an elite tight end and a top
30:35five, top three quarterback in Drake May with your first six picks here.
30:39So May went really late. I don't think you're going to expect him to go late in round six most drafts.
30:45But how do you like your build investing a lot in a tight end and a quarterback the first six rounds?
30:51I don't have a problem doing that in the first six rounds.
30:55This is going to sound nitpicky, though. I do have a problem.
30:59And I've found myself having problems when I take a top tier tight end and a top tier quarterback within my first five picks.
31:06There's something about that difference between the first five picks and the first six picks.
31:11You get just a little bit more breathing room to build your roster and your lineup the way that you want to
31:18when you're not taking the onesie positions a little bit too soon.
31:21So I made it a point round five. There wasn't a quarterback I would have taken in that spot anyway.
31:27So I knew that I was going to wait a while.
31:31Plus, I wanted to get wide receivers. This is a three receiver league.
31:35I wasn't interested in taking a quarterback in rounds four and five when I knew I needed to target wide receivers.
31:41I loved the start. I've had maybe a little bit of buyer's remorse over DJ Moore ahead of Quinshawn Judkins.
31:47I would imagine that in a full PPR league, by the time we get to the end of the season, it'll be close between those two.
31:55And the reason why I was jittery is because my number two running back is Ja'Cory Krosky Merritt.
32:01And Jamie talked about you're going to have a weak spot on your team somewhere.
32:05I opted for my weak spot to be RB2.
32:08The way that I combat that is the thing that I do in every single draft I'm in.
32:14And that's just take a lot of running backs late and hope that one of them can be my RB2 to begin the season.
32:21Fingers crossed. It's Krosky Merritt. Next round after I got Merritt, I got Mike Washington Jr.
32:26If there's a world where Ashton Gentry doesn't play in week one, then obviously Washington Jr.
32:31would be my RB2. But I love the start.
32:34I love the stack of May and AJ Brown as well.
32:37And in a full PPR, I think this is a really, really good team.
32:41Don't know why you took chase over Bijon Robinson, Adam, but I'm grateful that you did.
32:46Yep. So team three, again, if you want to wait on running back, he takes Bijon Robinson as the hero RB, Ja'Cory
32:53Krosky Merritt and Mike Washington in rounds seven and eight, and Zach Charbonnet in round 10, Najee Harris in round 13.
32:59But it's the starting lineup is Drake May, Trey McBride, Bijon Robinson, Ja'Cory Krosky Merritt, and then a terrific trio of receivers,
33:06AJ Brown, DJ Moore, Parker Washington, and the flex is probably Korten Sutton.
33:10We should probably revisit this if you had taken Bijon two and I took chase at three, because that's going to be what happens in most leagues.
33:18Most people are going to get Jamar chase at three.
33:21If I take chase at three, do I still take AJ Brown in late round two?
33:26In this case, I believe I will. Yeah. And then in round three, do I take Trey McBride or do I take Javante Williams?
33:34It's a tough call between those two for me.
33:37Right. I think I'd still lean McBride over Javante, but then I would absolutely not take DJ Moore in round four.
33:43That would be Quinchon Juggins. And then Washington versus one of those running backs in that round five range, Price, Montgomery, Tootin, Ramondre.
33:50That's a tougher call for me. I'd probably take the running back there instead of Parker.
33:55Team four. Four scores more. This is one of the two teams that did a wide receiver, wide receiver, wide receiver build.
34:02And this is a three receiver league, but you could do this in a two receiver league as well.
34:08So team four went receiver, receiver, receiver, and then four straight running backs.
34:11And it's Puka Nakua, Nico Collins, Malik Neighbors, Bucky Irving, Ramondre Stevenson, still Jadarian Price, Bachel Tootin, Cam Scadaboo were on the
34:18board, but team four wanted Ramondre Stevenson. Jalen Warren and Jordan Mason.
34:22And then Stefan Diggs, Dijon Stribling. Like, my only beef with this team is like, I don't think you need to take
34:29six running backs or five wide receivers before you take your quarterback and your tight end.
34:34I don't think you have to have Kyler Murray and Dallas Goddard, Jamie.
34:38So I think I love the first seven picks.
34:40Puka, Nico, Neighbors, Bucky, Stevenson, Jalen Warren, Jordan Mason.
34:43And then after that, I mean, I feel like you could take, you could take a higher end tight end, like, well,
34:50Kelsey, Goddard, whatever, it's not a huge deal. But I'm looking at the quarterback.
34:54Like, could have taken Dak Prescott. Could have taken Trevor Lawrence.
34:58I don't know. I understand waiting on those positions, but I think this team waited too long.
35:03Well, potentially. I mean, you know, unless you just have that strong, I'm assuming it's Dan, so you probably have that strong feelings.
35:10No, I think it's Jacob. That was Jacob? Okay.
35:13I mean, they probably share a brain. They share a brain, yeah.
35:16Very long. You know, that Kyler is, you know, I know a favorite of Dan, so I'm assuming Jacob probably likes him also.
35:23So you're just getting the quarterback that you like.
35:26You know, so if that's the case and you have a grade on Kyler that's similar to some of those other guys,
35:33then you just wait it out as long as you want to.
35:36I love this build. You know, you got to get a little lucky, and I think you do here, by getting Irving, Stevenson, Warren, and Mason.
35:44Like, you could have four starting running backs there.
35:47Two that could still qualify as very good number two running backs, and Irving and Stevenson, two that could be high-end flexes
35:54or number two running backs in Warren and Mason.
35:57So it worked out well, assuming that the three receivers do what they're capable of doing.
36:02So if you're comfortable enough with this, you're going to feel queasy, but if you're comfortable enough with this, like, this is
36:08what you want to do at the three spot, at the four spot, at the five spot, potentially the six and seven
36:15spots, depending on, you know, where those, you know, picks go with, you know, JSN and Amara St.
36:21Brown and how the running backs fall to you.
36:23So you see it happen again two picks later with the JSN selection.
36:27So at six. So it can work out really well, but you got to get lucky with the running backs.
36:34I think, obviously, if you're watching this, it's easier to see than if you're just listening.
36:38It's easier to follow along. YouTube.com slash Fantasy Football Today.
36:42It's also on the site if you want to follow along while you're listening to it.
36:46Good. Thank you very much. Um, but yeah, team four went receiver, receiver, receiver.
36:51Team five went running back, running back, running back.
36:53And team six went receiver, receiver, receiver. So we'll see which builds we like better.
36:58We'll talk about team five. We're going to take a little break here and then we'll talk about team five, which is team number Johnny five.
37:06And there's no way Dan gets that reference. This is Dan's team.
37:10But yeah, I think we definitely think that this three receiver build works for you.
37:14Puka, Nico, neighbors, Bucky, Stevenson, Warren, Mason. Um, yeah, again, I think you can probably go a little earlier on quarterback and
37:21or tight end, but Dallas Goddard and Kyler, Kyler Murray, you could do worse.
37:25Um, all right, we'll be right back to talk about team five, which is running back, running back, running back, and the
37:32fatal flaw that this team might have. And, and a mistake, I don't want to call it a mistake, but something you
37:39might not want to do when we come back on Fantasy Football today.
37:43So we like the three receiver build, three receivers with your first three picks at pick four.
37:48Do we like three running backs with your first three picks at pick five?
37:52Dan picked Christian McCaffrey, Ashton Gentty, Jeremiah Love, and then a Mecca Abuka as his wide receiver one.
37:58And no risk. Yeah. We've got two ankles and a toe there and Christian McCaffrey.
38:03When Christian McCaffrey is the healthiest player on your team with the first four picks, that could be a little much.
38:09Um, but just the build of McCaffrey, Gentty, Love, Abuka, Jameson Williams, Quentin Johnston, Kyle Pitts, Justin Herbert, and then Flex.
38:15Oh no, we already have our Flex and Love.
38:18We are third. Yeah, that's it. That's your starting lineup.
38:21Uh, I, I like it, Dave. McCaffrey, Gentty, Love, Abuka, Jameson Williams, Quentin Johnston, Kyle Pitts, Justin Herbert.
38:27Dan's playing for first or last. He's not trying to take any safeguards.
38:31He's willing to take the chance on Christian McCaffrey.
38:33He's buying the dip on Ashton Gentty and Jeremiah Love.
38:37Answer this question. If Gentty had never been hurt, would he even be in this conversation in mid to late round two?
38:43If Jeremiah Love had ever been hurt, would he ever be in the conversation of early middle round three?
38:49Yes. Yes. But I don't think Gentty probably would have been around two, but I think Henry probably would have fallen close to that spot.
38:57Because Gentty was going in the first round. Maybe.
39:00But I think he's buying the dip on Gentty and Love by getting them in these spots.
39:05And Abuka, we should throw him in the mix too.
39:08Is he a late round four pick if he doesn't hurt?
39:11Yeah, Abuka fell. I don't think Love, this was kind of the range for him to begin with.
39:17And Gentty was anywhere from round one to this spot.
39:20So it's a little bit lower. I remember loves ADP being closer to the 2-3 turn.
39:25Maybe. It doesn't matter. I wouldn't constitute this as a dip.
39:28I think if you're getting him late round three or early round four, that's falling from where he was.
39:34The thing that I just don't love about this, no pun intended, is like you're passing.
39:39I would have taken receiver in round three, especially with Devontae Smith staring his face.
39:43So you go, those two running backs, they're great.
39:46You could have easily, to me, the lineup looks a lot better if it's McCaffrey, Gentty, Smith, Abuka, Jameson, and then if
39:53Quentin Johnson's your flexor, you want to go another running back there.
39:57I like that a lot better. You could have had Warren at running back or Pollard.
40:02But look, it could work. Definitely could work. Obviously, the round two pick has to be one of those top 12 running backs.
40:09If not, you're not taking them. And Gentty's probably going to be 12th at this point.
40:14But McCaffrey, Gentty, Jeremiah Love. Now, that could have been Javante Williams instead.
40:17Emeka Abuka, Jameson Williams, Quentin Johnston. You know, not bad.
40:21And then Herbert hits. All right, moving on. Let me just add, this wouldn't be my favorite way to build, but I
40:27don't hate the idea of I'm going to shoot for the moon and get as many high upside players as I can early.
40:34We always talk about getting high upside players late.
40:37Dan's applying that to literally every pick that he made.
40:40And Team 6, 6, go Knicks. Is Jeremiah, no, is Jackson Smith in Jigba?
40:44Shouldn't it be Knicks in 5? Oh, like for Team 5?
40:48But I love making a Johnny 5 reference, you know?
40:51Yeah. Why talk about a generational championship when you can refer to an average 1980s movie?
40:56Because I did it with Team 6. Team 6 is 6, go Knicks.
41:00Jeremiah, jeez, I did it again. Jackson Smith in Jigba.
41:03George Pickens, Zay Flower. So this is the other team that went receiver, receiver, receiver.
41:08This is Heath's team, I'm pretty sure. Yeah. Heath texted me during our IDP draft yesterday that I drafted four of his six most rostered players.
41:15Oh, that's tough. In your IDP league? In an IDP league.
41:19Because we were on opposite ends, I think. I think I had the second pick.
41:23I ended up with Pickens, Pitts. No. You didn't get Pitts.
41:27Oh, maybe you did. It was Pickens, Burden. I don't remember.
41:30But he was like, I said, maybe I'm using your rankings.
41:34Sounds like you two are going to make a trade down the line.
41:38All right. JSN, Pickens, and Flowers. So the difference between this team and Team 4.
41:42Team 4 went receiver, receiver, receiver. And then four running backs.
41:46Team 6 went receiver, receiver, receiver. And then running back, tight end, running back, running back.
41:50So three running backs with the next four picks.
41:53And, again, a quarterback in round eight. So another good build here.
41:57It's Jalen Hurts at quarterback. Sam Laporta at tight end.
42:00JSN, Pickens, and Flowers at receiver. DeAndre Swift, Jonathan Brooks, and J.K.
42:04Dobbins at running back. And maybe flex. Could also flex D.K.
42:07Metcalf in there. We have Woody Marks. We have Brock Purdy on the bench.
42:11Trey Tucker. So, yeah, another way you could build the team.
42:15It's pretty solid. But what do you think about going to war with DeAndre Swift, Jonathan Brooks, J.K.
42:20Dobbins, Woody Marks, and Dylan Sampson, Dave? I'd be nervous about going to war with them.
42:25But this is the price you pay for going receiver, receiver, receiver in the middle of the draft.
42:31So, round one, obviously, you're in the middle of every single round.
42:34And getting those first two receivers, this is almost the same thing of what Jamie talked about with Dan's team.
42:40When you start your team with JSN and Pickens, that's great.
42:44Like, no one's going to complain about that duo.
42:47But do you even look at Javante Williams, who was available there?
42:50Do you look at Brees Hall? Do you look at Kyron Williams?
42:54Because you might be able to get – you definitely could have been able to get one of those guys plus DeAndre Swift.
43:01Then you don't have Zay Flowers. He took Flowers in round three because that's one of his guys.
43:07And so I can't fault him for that. I would have taken a running back there.
43:11But if he had taken Devontae Smith instead of Zay Flowers, T.
43:15Higgins instead of Zay Flowers, I would have liked it a lot better.
43:19I wonder how he would have felt if – because I decided to take Josh Allen in round four.
43:25I felt he just fell too far. That would probably, in most cases, be DeAndre Swift for me because I take him in almost every draft.
43:33I'm guessing he would have gone Judkins. If what?
43:36He might have gone Allen. If I had taken Swift.
43:39Oh, oh. He might have gone Allen. That's true.
43:42But let's assume it's not a quarterback. So does it look as good as FitzJuckins?
43:46Over Swift? No. I mean, Swift looks – I'd rather Swift than Judkins.
43:50Yeah. I think Swift fell a little bit in this draft.
43:53So assuming he's healthy. It just like – that kind of saved him, in my opinion.
43:58Okay. I agree. That helped him for sure. Well, let's see.
44:02I mean, I don't know that he fell. The real-time ADP for Fantasy Pros is 46 for DeAndre Swift.
44:08Well, I mean, we can't judge that because we're the quarterbacks are.
44:11I'm just saying. Are we using the real-time or not?
44:14Why wouldn't I use the real-time? No, I'm saying you can, but it's not realistic of what our drafts are representative.
44:21Our drafts. Our drafts, he's going 38th. NFC, he's going 45th over the last week.
44:25So I think it's pretty realistic that DeAndre Swift is there in the middle of round four.
44:31Yep. What's CBS ADP? 38? 38. Yeah. We should just hire there.
44:34I don't know what the reasoning for that is.
44:37But okay. All right. Team six. Oh, wait. Just to compare teams four and six, they both went receiver, receiver, receiver, then a running back.
44:45But team four has Ramondre Stevenson as RB2 and Dallas Goddard at tight end.
44:49Team six has Sam Laporta at tight end and Jonathan Brooks as RB2.
44:53Anyway. Team four has better running back depth, though.
44:56So for whatever he loses from Laporta to Goddard, his depth at running back is way better than what Heath has.
45:02All right. Pick seven here, which is seven minute abs.
45:05This was Jamie. He took Josh Allen in round four, 42nd overall.
45:09So that's the only quarterback you would have taken there, right?
45:12Oh, for sure. Okay. This is a pretty balanced team.
45:15Team seven here. We've got running back. We got receiver, running back, receiver, quarterback, running back, receiver.
45:21So you're starting Allen, likely, who you took 90th overall.
45:24Derek Henry and Jadarian Price. St. Brown, Devontae Smith, Marvin Harrison Jr.
45:27My question for you here, I guess, would have been, what do you think is a better start?
45:33Amon Ross St. Brown, Derek Henry, and Devontae Smith, which is what you did, or Amon Ross St.
45:38Brown, A.J. Brown, and Javontae Williams. So it's Henry and Devontae Smith in two and three, or A.J.
45:44Brown and Javontae Williams in rounds two and three.
45:47What's a better start for this team? The way I did it.
45:50I agree. Dave, Henry and Devontae Smith. I don't have a problem with the one bit.
45:55A.J. Brown and Javontae Williams. Which one would you prefer?
45:58Yeah. Henry and Smith is good. Okay. Yeah. It's a really good team.
46:02And the quarterback value just staring him in the face.
46:05Honestly, I don't think we have to talk about this team that much.
46:09Let's go to pick eight. Sorry, I wasn't trying to shortchange you, but nothing but running backs and receivers in the first seven rounds.
46:17And then George Kittle in round eight. Juwan Johnson to back up George Kittle.
46:21The pick on this team that's just kind of ridiculous is Dak Prescott, 113th overall.
46:26His ADP is like 59. Yeah. So you can look at this team and say, do I like this team if that
46:32pick is Jared Goff instead of Dak Prescott? But yeah, so it's Cook, Barkley, T.
46:37Higgins, Kyron Williams, Christian Watson, Chris Godwin. One thing I'd point out about this team is that it's a PPR league and
46:44we've got James Cook, Saquon Barkley, T. Higgins, Kyron Williams, Christian Watson with the first five picks.
46:49None of those guys are catch standouts. Does that matter?
46:52I think that's probably a little bit of a nitpick, but like the expectation is that Cook and Barkley should be more
46:59involved in their offenses catching the ball this year than they were last year.
47:03Higgins, if healthy, will offset some of the reception issues with his touchdowns.
47:07Kyron, I think, is just amazing value in round four.
47:10I think that's, you know, him falling that far as or falling to that spot is good.
47:15And then hopefully you get just healthy seasons from Watson and Godwin.
47:19Like you drafted very well here. You could probably say, okay, maybe you don't take Kyron since you went running back, running
47:26back, and you had the chance to take a Buka or DJ Moore, you know, as one of those, you know, I
47:33think high end, you know, wide receiver twos, especially if a Buka is healthy.
47:37But I think you covered yourself well, just how it fell with Watson in round five and Godwin in round six.
47:43So you did, you did really well here. I wouldn't worry about like, oh, I don't have a strictly pass catching running
47:50back as, as one of my two or three guys, or I don't have a high reception total guy as one of my top two receivers.
47:58I think Godwin could be that guy, but it's questionable.
48:01So I really think you did a great job here.
48:04Just capitalizing on some great value picks and guys that just, you know, give you such tremendous options.
48:10And just to compare the two teams in seven and eight, cause that was me and you, um, are you and me,
48:16excuse me, that, um, you waited on quarterback and ended up with just a steal.
48:21So to go back to knowing your, who you're drafting with, I, I, when the minute I took Josh Allen and I,
48:28and I didn't see any other quarterback go until Lamar Jack was like, oh man, I, I hate this.
48:34You know, like it had nothing to do with Josh Allen, just taking that position.
48:38And so then seeing you take Dak Prescott where you got him, like if I took Deandre Swift there, like I love
48:45that team even more knowing that I could have gotten, let's just say all the quarterbacks get pushed down.
48:51And I take somebody else where I took, let's say Marvin Harrison.
48:54Yeah. Last point I'll make about this team. If you're in a league that starts two flexes or three wide receivers or
49:01something, for me, the ones I feel the most comfortable with doesn't mean they're going to be the best, but the ones
49:08I leave them like, okay, I like this team is the ones where I pretty much wait on both quarterback and tight
49:15end and just load up on running back and receiver.
49:18And then drafting Kyron Williams, a cook Barkley Higgins, and then Kyron in round three, in round four, instead of a Buka
49:25or DJ Moore, that allowed me to skip rounds five and six at running back, which we talk about as the ick
49:31rounds and taking Christian Watson and Chris Godwin. And I just, I was really happy with those two picks, preferred them so much to add the running backs.
49:40I would have taken there. All right. Except I really do like Marshawn Lloyd.
49:44If he had made it back to me in round six, I would have had to have taken him even as a
49:51fourth running back, but that's just me. All right.
49:54Number nine, nine. Team nine. Torture demon hell ride.
49:56Or nine saw the sign. So Dave picked this one.
49:59Shout out Wesley Willis, RIP. You went running back receiver, running back receiver.
50:03Jonathan Taylor, Justin Jefferson, Javante Williams, and Garrett Wilson.
50:06In retrospect, and then you got Tyler Warren, 57th, which was really good value.
50:11And then David Montgomery and Joe Burrow, 81st, which is insane value.
50:14It's a great team, but was Justin Jefferson the right pick?
50:18You went Taylor one Jefferson over Barkley and Henry and Javante.
50:21Then Javante Williams and Garrett Wilson. Do you think in retrospect, Justin Jefferson was the right pick in round two?
50:27Not only do I think it was the right pick.
50:30I feel like I got good value on every single one of my first seven picks in this draft.
50:36I loved this team. I think Jonathan Taylor should go before ninth overall.
50:40I think Jefferson is, I mean, it's a little bit of a value for Jefferson.
50:45This is about the range that he's going to go in, but I've seen Jefferson late round one, early round two.
50:51Javante to me is an early round three running back.
50:54The fact that he went late round three is good value.
50:57Garrett Wilson. This is about the range for him.
51:00This is about the range for Tyler Warren. I thought Montgomery for, we talk about Montgomery in the round five.
51:06Ick. Well, he's around six stick. I don't know.
51:09I like, I sure as hell I'm going to take anybody that I'm nervous about taking around five, but I can get them in round six.
51:17That feels like a win. And then I practice what I preach.
51:21Joe Burrow felt like an absolute steal in round seven.
51:24Okay. Good pick here. Again, a very balanced team running back receiver, running back receiver.
51:28Now, as we get toward the one, two turn and we have picks 10, 11, 12, we've talked a lot about going RB, RB, wide receiver, wide receiver.
51:37If you're picking late and team 10 did exactly that team 10 wins again, chase Brown, Kenneth Walker, Luther Burden, lad McConkey.
51:44And you know, if you didn't love the Luther Burden pick at 34 overall, that could have been McMillan or Waddle or
51:51McConkey and maybe get Garrett Wilson or a Buka in the next round.
51:55But Jamie, we, we know we like running back, running back wide receiver, wide receiver.
51:59With pick 10, we have Bejal Tootin over Cam Scadaboo in round five.
52:03Do we think Scadaboo fell too far in this draft at 60th?
52:07We never saw Tootin go ahead of him. Do you think team 10 made the right call taking Tootin over Scadaboo?
52:13I have Tootin over Scadaboo. So yes, I, I co-sign that.
52:17I'm nervous about Scadaboo just with the committee and what this could be for him.
52:21So committee potentially in Jacksonville. I think the offense is better in Jacksonville.
52:25So despite maybe some schedule concerns, I would still take Tootin over Scadaboo right now, given the uncertainty for both.
52:31But yeah, I, I think this build is great.
52:34Brown and Walker are awesome. Two of my favorites.
52:37Like you said, I would have probably flip-flopped the receivers and just taken McConkey first, but to get McConkey in round four is amazing.
52:44And so, you know, if you don't love those two receivers could have had McConkey and Wilson could have had Wilson, you
52:51know, Wilson, McConkey, whatever, you know, Waddle or, or, or Tet, any of those guys, you know, make, make a ton of sense there.
52:58Even a Buka was, was available. So, um, I love, I love this build.
53:03I love this team. You know, if there is maybe a nitpick, it's, you know, did, did you take craft over maybe
53:09another wide receiver just because we start three receivers in this league and could you have come back and take another tight end the next round?
53:17But I think it just ended up in a really good spot.
53:21If there is a hole, it might be wide receiver three, but if you love downs and Pittman and that combination, just
53:28sort of mixing and matching it, you should be great.
53:31Yeah. That was actually my question for you, right?
53:34So, so this is a really good question at a tough call for teams picking late here.
53:39Chase Brown, Ken Walker at, at starting from the 10th pick, Chase Brown, Ken Walker, Luther Burden, Ladd McConkey, Bejal Tootin.
53:45Was Tucker craft the right pick at 63 overall could have taken, let's probably a wide receiver there to get your number three wide receiver.
53:53Mike Evans had just gone off the board, could have taken Chris Godwin, Marvin Harrison Jr., Quentin Johnston, Brian Thomas Jr.
53:59Those are probably the only wide receivers in play there.
54:02If this team, 10 wins again, had taken Chase Brown, Ken Walker, Luther Burden, Ladd McConkey, Bejal Tootin, Chris Godwin, you now have three running backs, three receivers.
54:11And in round seven, you could have taken maybe Harold Vanden Jr., but almost certainly George Kittle and Isaiah likely.
54:17In fact, ADP says you can get Isaiah likely in round nine or 10.
54:21Is that better than taking Tucker craft 63rd overall, Dave?
54:25I think it is by a little bit. I don't mind craft in early round six, one bit, because I think he
54:31can be, I think he can finish as a top three fantasy tight end if he can stay healthy and if the Packers run game can't get going.
54:40But those are ifs. And I think I would have preferred taking, like if you really value Evans and even if you
54:47don't, you could have taken Odunze where Jacob took Tootin.
54:50And then you could have gotten one of those settle for RB twos where he took craft or you could have just
54:56taken craft and hammered running backs in round seven, eight, nine.
55:00And remember, this is a three receiver league. If you're in a two receiver league, then it makes that craft pick, you know, you're more palatable, I suppose.
55:08All right. Team 11, team 11 and team 12, uh, both started similarly.
55:1211 went 11 is heaven. Went lamb and Hampton and 12 on the shelf.
55:17Couldn't really come up with anything. That's what everybody calls their team.
55:20Like 12 H and in London, but we'll look at 11 here.
55:24Lamb and Hampton, Jalen Waddle, Brees Hall, Romo Dunze, Mike Evans.
55:27So you've got your starting running backs and your three receivers and a flex in your first six picks.
55:33Lamb, Hampton, Waddle, Brees Hall, Romo Dunze, Mike Evans with, with your first six picks.
55:38Harold Fannin Jr. in round seven, Patrick Mahomes in round 11 and Malik Willis in round 13.
55:43Um, I guess Jamie, we could say maybe this team could have gone Kittle and likely over Fannin, but whatever.
55:49How about Patrick Mahomes and Malik Willis as your quarterback duo?
55:53Because other than that, I don't know how you can be upset with lamb Hampton Waddle.
55:57Maybe you don't like Waddle there, but if there's whatever, pick a wide receiver McConkie Brees Hall, Oh, Dunze, Evans, tight ends,
56:04Jordan Addison for depth, Chris Rodriguez, Emmett Johnson. I think it's really good, but my homes and Malik Willis.
56:10Did this team wait too long to get quarterback?
56:13I did. Did they take my homes over somebody better?
56:16Goff. Okay. So I would have preferred Goff. You tell me he's Goff Willis, then A++.
56:21And Stafford too. Yeah. I would have taken either of those quarterbacks over my homes, but sure.
56:26But this is like any comments on this build that we like this team?
56:30Like this build a lot. Yeah. Again, you could swap out some of the players.
56:35So I don't mind Waddle in that range of receivers.
56:38I would have preferred McConkie. So you put McConkie there and then Brees Hall in round four is great.
56:44Oh, Dunze, you can clearly debate Oh, Dunze versus Evans.
56:47But I think Oh, Dunze is fine. If somebody is healthy, you swap out Fannin for Kittle or Lightley.
56:53That's great. Addison, that spot is perfect. So just keep going down.
56:56And the quarterback is probably just the biggest issue.
56:59What is better as a build for pick 11?
57:02What did I say? I said, oh, so this team took London and Hampton.
57:06Which team took London and Hampton? Sorry. Took Lamb and Hampton.
57:10Okay. Okay. Okay. I'm sorry. This team went Lamb, Hampton, Waddle, Hall.
57:13What's better that build or this team could have had a Chan, Hampton, Waddle, McConkie, you know, the running back, running back,
57:20receiver, receiver, or in this case, Lamb, Hampton, Waddle, Hall.
57:23So if both teams would have had Hampton and Waddle, but would you rather have Lamb and Brees Hall with Hampton and
57:30Waddle or a Chan and McConkie with Hampton and Waddle?
57:33I think this is evidence that Dan doesn't subscribe to the all or nothing kind of theory that he did with his earlier team.
57:40Remember, he's the one that took McCaffrey, Gentty, Love.
57:43He bought the dip on all those players that got some injury history going on right now.
57:48And there's huge upside with them. This feels a little bit safer.
57:52And I don't hate what he did. Knowing that when you take Lamb in round one, he's the last elite wide receiver.
57:59You can make the case for Jefferson, too, I guess, if you really like Kyler.
58:03I would have taken Lamb here, and then I probably would have hammered running back just as he did with Hampton in round two.
58:11And I don't mind his team. I would have taken McConkie over Waddle.
58:15The build, that's what you're asking about? I mean, look, you know, I have a better question.
58:20I think the build that he went with is fine.
58:23But if he were to really, like, lean into upside only, A-Chan would have been the pick in round one.
58:29Walker would have been the pick in round two.
58:32And then in rounds three and four, I probably would have taken Loveland in round three and then McConkie in round four.
58:39Okay. And Dan said on our mailbag, which you'll hear Saturday, that Hampton is his RB4.
58:43So he loves him. Right, right. Okay, let's look at Team 12.
58:47There's the difference of Team 12. We can compare these two teams, right?
58:51Lamb, Hampton. Team 11 was Lamb, Hampton, Waddle, Hall.
58:54And Team 12 was London, A-Chan, or A-Chan, London, McMillan.
58:57So we got receiver, running back, receiver for both teams.
59:00But Team 12 takes Colston Loveland. And Team 11 took Harold Fannin Jr.
59:04in round seven compared to round four for Loveland.
59:07So did Team 12 on the shelf do the right thing?
59:10A-Chan, London, McMillan, Colston Loveland. And then, I mean, I love Scadaboo Lloyd at 60-61.
59:15I don't know how you guys feel about that.
59:18Yeah, very good value. And then Jane Daniels at 84 is insane.
59:21The quarterback value in this draft was insane. So I think it worked out pretty well if you just look at those
59:28first six picks of taking London and still not really feeling all that weak at running back with A-Chan, Scadaboo Lloyd.
59:34But are you weak at receiver? London, McMillan, and then Alec Pierce, who by the way practiced in full, and Debo Samuel later in the draft.
59:42Jamie, what do you think about how the Loveland pick at the 3-4 turn changed this team?
59:48I love the build. I don't love the players in particular, but I love the build.
59:52So for me, if it was Walker instead of A-Chan, if it was A.J.
59:57Brown instead of London, if it was McConkie instead of McMillan, then the players, I think, separate it.
60:02But the build is great. You've got to get a little lucky here because while I'm concerned about Scadaboo, 60th overall is
60:09still great value, especially for somebody whose ADP was a week ago at 34.
60:13And Lloyd is all over the map in terms of where he'll go at this point.
60:18His ADP is still in the 90s, but we know that's not very realistic because he's just continuing to climb.
60:24So knowing your draft and knowing that quarterback's going to go late, you have a borderline top five quarterback.
60:30You have a top three tight end. You have, again, if you believe in A-Chan, still top ten running back no matter
60:37where you – I'm down on him, but I still consider him that.
60:41So the build is fine. It's just a matter of, again, where's your hole?
60:45So your hole could be RB2. Your hole could be wide receiver three.
60:49Your hole could be flex. But at the same time, you could have hit home runs at all of those spots.
60:56So I think the build is absolutely fine. Yeah.
60:58Nice work by Heath on the shelf. All right.
61:01We have a YouTube poll. Heath does a good job.
61:04So if you like following people that buy – you talked about this.
61:08I think Dave said about Travis A-Chan. You buy into taking your guys.
61:12I don't think there's anybody who does it better than Heath does because Zay Flowers, you see, middle of round three, probably
61:19a little bit early, but ahead of some other receivers that I think will go ahead of him in most drafts, he's going to get his guy.
61:27He's going to take Laporta. You see it. Heath talks about this a lot.
61:32You see here he loves Drake London. He loves Devon A-Chan.
61:35He's going to take those guys. He's going to take Ted Earl McMillan over some other receivers that might be better.
61:41So if you believe in that strategy and that theory – You should.
61:45Follow – well, I mean, again, you could get in trouble.
61:49You've got to have conviction with your picks. You've got to like the players you draft.
61:54Yeah, you could get in trouble. And I think one thing that Heath also does a good job of is when he
62:00does that to an extreme, then he starts to diversify a little bit.
62:04So like in the IDP draft, he didn't take Laporta, I'm sure, on purpose, and took Kyle Pitts.
62:10So good to have a little bit of diversification with your rosters if you do a lot of drafts.
62:16If you only do one draft, go get your guys.
62:19Yeah, that's the thing I was going to say.
62:22If you have a lot of drafts – There's just been too many times where I haven't gotten my guy or I've gotten someone I didn't like.
62:30And it ended up being a really good pick.
62:33I mentioned the Tucker Craft pick from last year.
62:35I hated that pick. It was one of my best picks in that Super Flex League.
62:40Adam, I got to run. Okay. I couldn't agree more in terms of trying to get players that you don't have enough of.
62:47So so far – and I do this with players that I don't like.
62:52So last night I had a draft where it was Keeper League draft, and I was not expecting to take McCaffrey.
62:58You know I'm not the biggest McCaffrey fan, but there are a lot of players off the board.
63:04It just made the most sense to take him in the first round where I took him.
63:09The second time that this happened to me where I took McCaffrey, just what I thought was good value.
63:15I don't have Devon Achan in any league yet.
63:17So I'm going to try and change that because I don't want to miss out if I'm wrong.
63:23And I like Barkley. I just have not taken Saquon Barkley at all because usually I end up taking Walker and Hampton ahead of them.
63:31So actually the player I was hoping to take instead of McCaffrey last night was Barkley.
63:36Like I was planning out the draft in my head.
63:39I'm like, oh, Barkley will be there. I finally get Barkley.
63:42I'll get that card. I'm like, oh. I'm not going to take Barkley over McCaffrey.
63:47I tell you, I've got three drafts left, I think, and I need to start drafting more Cowboys, be it Dak, Lamb, or Pickens.
63:54Lamb's going to be tough, but Pickens is the one I really have to start drafting.
63:59I do like him, and I never take him, and I really want to.
64:03I have a funny thing last night. So my friend, he'll appreciate the shout-out, my friend Brett Frankel, I was drafting at
64:10his house for the league that we're in together, and his son was there who's 15.
64:15He's named Spencer. And so he has as keepers Javante Williams and George Pickens.
64:19He drafted Dak Prescott, and he's a very animated guy.
64:22He's all in on the Cowboys. So then he takes Brandon Aubrey, and his son looks at him, 15 years old, keep that in mind.
64:30His son looks at him and goes, what are you doing?
64:33You're counteracting exactly what you want to happen. You want them to score touchdowns, and now you're banking on their kicker scoring
64:40field goals as good as he is. And I'm like, he gets it.
64:44I appreciate this. 15-year-old schooling his father, explaining exactly how it goes.
64:48That's funny. I should do some research on the best red zone teams.
64:52Do their kickers still do well, whatever is the highest.
64:55You get extra points. That counts. You do. You do.
64:58All right, the YouTube poll. Who was Adam's favorite Care Bear?
65:01Bedtime Bear, Grumpy Bear, or Oopsie Bear, or other?
65:04I don't remember a single Care Bear. You know, there was the Care Bear movie that I used to watch when I
65:11was like six or something like that. But I wasn't really that big of a Care Bear.
65:16I'm going to go with Oopsie Bear. I think we should call Nando back and settle this.
65:21What the hell? No. I don't get it, dude.
65:24I didn't do anything. He came on and humiliated me for an hour on the air.
65:29And I told him to take, you know, that I didn't want those posters online and instead of talking to me.
65:35No, this is crazy. No, we're calling him. Hold on.
65:38All right. Other stuff I wanted to tell you.
65:41I'll be live in 42 minutes for a little Q&A.
65:44Programming next week, we're going to start focusing a little bit on drafts, but also week one.
65:49We've got games on Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday, and Monday.
65:52We've got a YouTube live stream every Sunday morning from 11 a.m.
65:56Eastern until 1 p.m. Jamie, are you going to be?
65:59What's your Sunday looking like? I'll be on, I'm sure, for a good portion of it, but I don't know exactly yet.
66:06Okay. But I didn't know if you're doing HQ stuff or what.
66:09Yep. Okay. So you'll be doing that. Also, CBS Sports Network every week, Tuesdays and Thursdays at noon Eastern.
66:15Okay. Anything else here? Oh, why don't we do stupid comments about...
66:19Adam looks like he's a... Let's see. Adam looks like he has a Costco membership card on a lanyard.
66:25I go there for pitted cherries for my fruit salad.
66:28I go there for the hot dog only, the dollar hot dog only.
66:32I go there for bulk sanitizer, yes. I would never go anywhere other than like a really good deli or bagel place
66:38for lox and bagels, so you're wrong about that one.
66:41I go to Costco to people watch. Adam looks like he takes off his shoes at parties without asking.
66:47Yeah. Most people in my circle, we're all shoes off people.
66:51You come into my house, you take your damn shoes off.
66:54Oh, wait. Here we go. All right. Oh, all right.
66:57All right. We're at the end of the show.
67:00Let's settle this. Why are you mad at Adam?
67:03I know you're still on air, man. That's why you...
67:06I don't want to talk about it in front of all these people.
67:10There's no case. There's no case. Why are you...
67:12You're shy all of a sudden? Well, yeah. I mean, my kiddo, it's very personal stuff in there.
67:18It was not. I'm not allowed to talk about it.
67:21Yeah, personal for me. No, he's already brought it up.
67:24Personal for me. I don't know, man. I just feel like first and second year in a row, he tried to make me miss the show.
67:32That's not true. And then I spent all this money on posters and credits on perplexity to make these posters.
67:38Not even a thank you. Just you got to get rid of the stuff.
67:42Dave tries to auction the stuff off for charity.
67:45He's like, no, I don't like St. Jude. Oh, God.
67:48It was all just very rude. It was very, very rude.
67:52And then he never asked how I'm doing, Jamie.
67:54You and Dave ask all the time. He's just never like, hey, man, how you doing?
67:59So, you know. I hope that's not true. But if it's true, I'll do better.
68:04It's a one-way friendship. A one-way friendship with a guy who humiliates me every time he gets a chance.
68:10He just humiliates me. Tells stories about my family that I don't want.
68:14Tells stories about my wife that I don't want to be on the air.
68:18And it's a one-way friendship on my end. I'm sorry.
68:21I will do more of what – I will be more like you going forward.
68:26And I will start humiliating you and your family every time we speak.
68:30I can't hear anything you're saying. I just hear family over and over again.
68:34This sounds like a good way to make up with each other as you can – No, just so you let me know.
68:41The whole chat is saying Team Nando. I stand with Nando.
68:44Oh, thanks. They all love you. So does Scott Fish.
68:48Okay. All right. Well, that was really uncomfortable. Thank you, Jamie.
68:51All right. That's my job to make you phone calls.
68:54Nando, I love you, buddy. I hope you're doing okay.
68:57If something's got like that, I don't want to speak to you.
69:01I don't want to speak to you. It's the same reason, basically.
69:04Scott likes everybody. Love you, bud. I'll talk to you later.
69:08Bye, everybody. Have a great weekend, everybody. And good luck in your drafts.
69:12See you later. Podcasts.
