Purdy had a mixed performance in the 49ers' loss, hanging in with pressure to find McCaffrey for 24 yards, hitting Kittle for first downs, rolling out to hit tight ends for first downs, and firing deep passes to Watkins; however, he threw an interception on what was intended to be a throwaway to Jessie Bates, missed high on throws to Cooks and Black, threw it low and early to McCaffrey, and was sacked by Za'Darius Smith on fourth down to end a drive.PositiveProjectionOct 23, 2026
Brock Purdy is playing out of his mind with elite pressure management; his 54.3% completion percentage against pressure is the second-best mark in the NFL among starters, and he's one of only four qualifiers (out of 25 who've played at least 50% of snaps) who hasn't thrown an interception under pressure. He doesn't get the ball out quickly, but that's a function of better-than-expected line play and his feel for pressure allowing him to evade and keep plays alive. While he will hold on to the ball long enough to walk into sacks—Atlanta's best bet—his splits under pressure are much less sharp than most passers, making him a lesser but still dangerous quarterback when pressured.
