52

Aaron Jones

NegativeProjection39:16

Ranked 35 in ECR as a flex RB3 option this week.

Insight page

Bam Knight

PositiveRole50:51

Has played well over the last two games and is expected to remain involved in the Cardinals offense even when Jeremiah Love returns. The team has an 'obsession' with using Knight on third downs, limiting Love's passing-game role.

Insight page

Blake Corum

NegativeRole0:46

Blake Corum is mentioned as a handcuff running back that fantasy managers should pseudo-consider rostering this season, part of the broader trend of needing to carry more handcuff running backs in 2024 than in previous years.

Insight page

Braelon Allen

PositiveRole33:30

Braylon Allen has played extremely well during Breece Hall's four-game quad injury absence. Against the Raiders' league-worst run defense, Allen should still get a decent chunk of touches even with Hall's return. The source notes that the Jets have talked about a 'hot hand' approach, meaning if Allen gets going early, they may continue to feature him. Both Hall and Allen have decent upside this week, though capped ceilings due to shared volume.

Insight page
NegativeProjection39:16

Ranked 25 in ECR as a flex RB3 option this week.

Insight page

Breece Hall

PositiveMatchup33:00

Breece Hall returns against the Las Vegas Raiders, who allow the most rushing yards per game to opposing running backs. Last week, both Blake Corum and Kyron Williams smashed against the Raiders. The source expects the Jets to feature both Hall and Braylon Allen given how well Allen has played, and both running backs should thrive in this matchup.

Insight page
PositiveRole33:30

The Jets have been adamant that Breece Hall is their workhorse bell cow starter returning from his quad injury. Coaches have explicitly stated Hall is their starter and Braylon Allen will get his touches, but Hall is the primary back. The source expects Hall to return to his incumbent starter role despite Allen's strong play during Hall's four-game absence.

Insight page

Brian Robinson

PositiveRole0:40

Robinson is identified as one of the few clean, essential handcuffs in the league; if the starter in front of him goes down, he will play approximately 80 percent of snaps and get most of the running back touches, making him hugely valuable and worth acquiring even before Thanksgiving.

Insight page
NegativeRole0:42

Brian Robinson is cited as an example of a handcuff running back that fantasy managers have needed to roster this season. The source suggests that 2024 has required more handcuff holdings than typical years, with Robinson being one of the key names in that category alongside Kalen Black and Blake Corum.

Insight page

Chase Brown

PositiveMatchup28:00

Chase Brown faces the Tennessee Titans defense, which has given up the seventh most rushing yards to running backs. The Bengals are a high-powered offense playing at home as a double-digit favorite. The Titans were just run over by the Cleveland Browns rushing attack, suggesting the matchup is favorable for Brown.

Insight page
PositiveUsage28:00

Chase Brown regained his typical snap share split after the bye week, returning to a 70-30 split with Samajie P. Ryan (compared to a 50-50 split the previous week). He out-touched P. Ryan 15-4 last week and remains involved as a receiver out of the backfield. The source notes that while Brown leads running backs in fantasy points scored under expectation through the first seven weeks, he also led that category last year through week seven and finished the season very strong.

Insight page
NegativeProjection30:00

Chase Brown is averaging 2.7 yards per carry over his last three games and has not gotten to 40 rushing yards in a game since week three. The source worries that Samajie P. Ryan will continue to horn in on Brown's territory because the Bengals like what P. Ryan gives them in the running game when they're in shotgun, and Joe Burrow prefers shotgun formation. The Bengals have scrapped their plans to be under center more because Burrow is more comfortable in shotgun.

Insight page

Chris Rodriguez

PositiveProjection52:00

Recommended as a deep play outside the top 36 of ECR against the Colts defense, which just traded away one defensive lineman and may trade away another. Rodriguez is coming off a season-high 55 rushing yards on 11 carries and 'looked pretty good' in his last appearance for the Jaguars. The Colts defense is not good, and Rodriguez could find his way into the end zone in short-yardage situations.

Insight page

Christian McCaffrey

NegativeInjury0:29

Christian McCaffrey is out this week due to injury (initially reported as thigh, now hamstring). The source expresses concern about his status post-bye week, noting that a Wednesday DNP designation would signal a problematic recovery timeline. McCaffrey owners should prioritize securing a handcuff like Kalen Black before waivers to mitigate risk.

Insight page

Chuba Hubbard

PositiveProjection9:21

Chuba Hubbard is ranked ninth in the week eight running back rankings on the FantasyPros consensus board.

Insight page
PositiveMatchup19:26

Hubbard is positioned for a bounce-back spot against Green Bay; Carolina is 7-0 against the spread on the road after a loss, and the Packers tend to be overrated at home when heavy favorites by more than a field goal. Hubbard has shown he's up for the task and continues to operate at a really high level as a full-blown bell cow, three-down skill set; he looks way more explosive than he did last year and has passed the eye test.

Insight page

Corey Kiner

NegativeRole0:43

Kiner is identified as a potential backup option who might see work if Ramondre Stevenson gets injured, meaning he is not a clean handcuff and would share carries with Trevion Henderson.

Insight page

Daniel Jones

NegativeRole10:54

The source characterizes Daniel Jones as playing 'the worst football of his career' and 'arguably the worst quarterback in the NFL right now' in terms of efficiency and performance under pressure, particularly following his Achilles injury recovery. This poor quarterback play negatively impacts Jonathan Taylor's fantasy outlook, as the Colts' offensive struggles limit run-game effectiveness.

Insight page

Emanuel Wilson

PositiveProjection39:48

Ranked 28 in ECR but the source has him at 24 (Fitzmaurice) and 22 (Erickson), viewing him as an RB2 this week. Despite averaging only 3.6 yards per carry this season, Wilson had 24 carries for 100 yards and a touchdown against the Chiefs last week and now faces a Bears run defense ranked 26th in DVOA. The source prefers to wait on Wilson in a Monday night game against a favorable matchup rather than start other flex options, citing his ability to get 20+ carries and his upside in the second half when the team 'rides him.'

Insight page

J.K. Dobbins

NegativeUsage45:20

Part of Denver's three-headed committee with Jonah Coleman and RJ Harvey. Last week, Dobbins had eight carries to Coleman's nine carries and did not touch the ball in the fourth quarter as the team wanted to see more of Coleman in cleanup duty. Averaging 3.4 yards per carry, Dobbins is less efficient than Coleman and is being phased out in favor of the younger back. Against Kansas City's strong run defense, Dobbins is viewed as a touchdown-dependent play with limited upside.

Insight page

Jadarian Price

NegativeRole40:51

Eligible to come off injured reserve this week for week eight. The Seahawks head coach Mike McDonald was coy about whether Price and Charbonnet could play, saying 'yes' to both possibilities but also 'yeah' to the scenario where neither plays. This uncertainty limits clarity on his role and fantasy relevance.

Insight page

Jalen Brooks

NegativeInjury49:18

Lost to a season-ending injury; was the number three receiver for the Cardinals. This loss reduces the passing game depth and may force the Cardinals to lean more on the run game, potentially benefiting Jeremiah Love.

Insight page

James Cook

PositiveProjection9:06

James Cook is ranked sixth in the week eight running back rankings on the FantasyPros consensus board, completing the top six tier.

Insight page

Javonte Williams

PositiveProjection9:21

Javante Williams is ranked seventh in the week eight running back rankings on the FantasyPros consensus board.

Insight page

Jaylen Waddle

NegativeInjury45:00

May not play for the Broncos; if he is out, targets from the offense would need to be distributed among other pass catchers like Cortland Sutton and Evan Ingram, or funneled to running back dump-offs for the trio of running backs (Jonah Coleman, J.K. Dobbins, RJ Harvey).

Insight page

Jaylen Warren

PositiveProjection9:21

Jalen Warren is ranked tenth in the week eight running back rankings on the FantasyPros consensus board.

Insight page

Jaylen Wright

NegativeBust0:31

Drafted as a handcuff with upside potential, Wright was the RB2 to start the season but got injured and lost the job to Ali Gordon; the investment in holding him has amounted to nothing.

Insight page

Jeremiyah Love

PositiveProjection49:18

Ranked 33 in ECR but Fitzmaurice has him as a top-20 RB (18th) this week against Dallas, assuming he is active. Love was the number three overall pick for a reason and is 'good at football.' The Cardinals are mid-pack in pass rate over expected (13th), and with the loss of Jalen Brooks to a season-ending injury, they may lean more on the run game. The Cowboys give up the eighth-most fantasy points per game to running backs and are 23rd in EPA per play against the run and 27th in DVOA against the run. Saquon Barkley had only 62 rushing yards on seven carries against Dallas last week.

Insight page
NegativeInjury50:18

Ankle injury is a concern; Deepak Chona indicated he did not expect Love to return until week nine. Even if suited up for week eight, his health status is uncertain. The team has been taking him out of games in the second half to monitor his ankle, and if the Cowboys get up big, Love may be rested. Additionally, the Cardinals do not use him in passing situations as much as they should, and Bam Knight has played well over the last two games, so Love's role may remain limited even upon return.

Insight page

Jonah Coleman

PositiveValue0:51

The source emphasizes aggressive waiver wire pursuit of Jonah Coleman despite a crowded backfield with multiple competing running backs. Coleman is characterized as the only immediately playable running back available on waivers this week and warrants priority acquisition given the scarcity of viable running back options outside the top 24.

Insight page
PositiveBreakout6:25

Jonah Coleman was expected preseason to become viable around week eight, and that projection proved absolutely correct; the source notes it took a couple turns and weaving before getting there, but the timeline and emergence materialized as anticipated.

Insight page
NegativeProjection43:45

Ranked 29 in ECR but the source has him at 27-28, viewing him as the lead back in Denver's committee. However, the matchup against Kansas City is poor; the Chiefs allow the second-fewest rushing yards per game to opposing running backs. Sean Payton said they need to 'get more touches for Jonah Coleman,' but the source is skeptical, comparing this to past instances where Payton made similar statements about other backs (Audrick Estime) that did not pan out. Coleman has been efficient (4.9 yards per carry, 52.7% rushing success rate, 23.5% of runs for 10+ yards), but in a three-headed committee with J.K. Dobbins and RJ Harvey, he may not return top-10 or top-20 production.

Insight page

Jonathan Taylor

NegativeProjection9:00

The source ranks Jonathan Taylor at ECR 8 (Fitzy at 7), but Erickson has him at RB16—a significant 9-spot drop that the source notes is unusually large for a top-10 ECR running back. The source describes this as 'not a great spot' with 'squirrely names' ranked ahead of him, indicating low confidence in Taylor's week-to-week production despite his RB1 status.

Insight page
NegativeProjection9:21

Jonathan Taylor is ranked eighth in the week eight running back rankings on the FantasyPros consensus board; the source notes this represents a significant difference from previous rankings and suggests there is a storyline to piece together regarding his ranking movement.

Insight page
NegativeRole10:00

The source expresses concern about Jonathan Taylor's role and offensive circumstances; the Colts' offensive line has deteriorated further after trading away Quentin Nelson, one of their best offensive guards. Additionally, the source notes uncertainty around Taylor's future with the team, citing trade rumors and the increased involvement of Seth McGowan, a 25-year-old rookie running back, in recent games. The source questions why McGowan would receive increased role opportunities if Taylor were not potentially being shopped, suggesting the timing of McGowan's elevated usage coincides with trade speculation.

Insight page
NegativeMatchup10:00

The source ranks Jonathan Taylor at RB16 this week due to a difficult matchup against Jacksonville, who rank #1 in the NFL allowing just 51.5 rushing yards per game; the next-closest team allows 73 yards. Over the last two seasons, only Jonathan Taylor has rushed for 70+ yards against Jacksonville. Last year in two matchups against the Jaguars' elite run defense, Taylor was RB12 and RB20, placing him in a tough spot despite his historical ability to produce against them.

Insight page

Jordan James

NegativeBust0:54

Drafted as the handcuff to McCaffrey with expected upside, Jordan James got injured and lost the job to Kalen Black, rendering the handcuff investment worthless.

Insight page

Jordan Mason

PositiveRole35:30

Jordan Mason is the RB1 in the Vikings offense. Aaron Jones has not played a full game this year without leaving with a knee injury, and the source questions why the Vikings continue to trot him out when he's not 100% healthy, especially with Mason back in the lineup. Last week, Mason drew the majority of opportunities with a 64% snap share and 65% of running back opportunities; he had 15 carries for 68 yards with two targets (though both were air-mailed by Kyler Murray).

Insight page
PositiveMatchup37:00

Jordan Mason faces the Detroit Lions, who are bottom-10 in EPA per rush defense. While the Lions have been better against running backs than pass catchers this season, that's because teams have elected to throw all over Detroit, not because their run defense is elite. The matchup is favorable for Mason's workload projection.

Insight page
NegativeRole37:00

Jordan Mason is non-existent as a pass catcher. Last week he received two targets but Kyler Murray missed him on both throws. Mason will not contribute in the passing game, which limits his ceiling in PPR formats.

Insight page
NegativeMatchup38:00

While the Lions' overall run defense ranks bottom-10 in EPA per rush, they are much better against the run at home, giving up only 69.7 rushing yards per game at home. This is a different beast than their road performance, which tempers the matchup quality for Mason.

Insight page

Josh Jacobs

PositiveProjection9:35

Josh Jacobs is ranked twelfth in the week eight running back rankings on the FantasyPros consensus board.

Insight page

Kenneth Walker III

PositiveProjection9:06

Kenneth Walker is ranked third in the week eight running back rankings on the FantasyPros consensus board.

Insight page

Kyren Williams

PositiveProjection9:06

Kyron Williams is ranked fourth in the week eight running back rankings on the FantasyPros consensus board, part of the top six tier.

Insight page

Mike Washington Jr.

PositiveProjection53:12

Recommended as a deep play for the Raiders if desperate. Washington has been effective with 4.9 yards per carry, whereas Ashton Gentry has not been effective as a runner. Gentry's ankle injury is clearly affecting him over the last three weeks, so the Raiders may start to get Washington more involved in the running game on early downs.

Insight page

Rhamondre Stevenson

NegativeRole0:43

Stevenson is the starter in a backfield where Trevion Henderson serves as the primary handcuff, though Corey Kiner might also see work if Stevenson were to get injured.

Insight page

Rico Dowdle

NegativeProjection43:45

Ranked in the flex RB3 range (27 in ECR). The source notes he is one spot ahead of Emmanuel Wilson but prefers to wait on Wilson for the Monday night game against the Bears rather than start Dowdle.

Insight page

RJ Harvey

NegativeRole45:00

Ranked 30 in ECR but the source views him as a manageable flex option, particularly if Jalen Waddle does not play for the Broncos. Harvey gets involved in the red zone and catches passes; if Denver is chasing points, he could see more involvement in the passing game. However, he is less efficient than Jonah Coleman (3.6 yards per carry) and is part of a three-headed committee.

Insight page

Saquon Barkley

NegativeInjury50:00

Not fully healthy; had only 62 rushing yards on seven carries against Dallas last week, indicating limited effectiveness and potential continued health concerns.

Insight page

Seth McGowan

PositiveUsage12:00

The source highlights Seth McGowan's increased role in recent games, particularly noting his most involved usage of the entire season in the game against the Vikings. The source speculates that McGowan's elevated role may be connected to trade rumors surrounding Jonathan Taylor, suggesting the Colts are testing McGowan's capabilities as a potential replacement or trade asset.

Insight page

TreVeyon Henderson

NegativeRole0:52

Henderson has transitioned from a starter role to a handcuff role; he is no longer a starter and should not be ranked as such unless buys are involved. If Ramondre Stevenson goes down, Henderson would be the primary backup, though Corey Kiner might also see work.

Insight page

Zach Charbonnet

NegativeRole38:40

Activated from IR last week but did not play, likely due to a three-week window requirement. Even if he plays this week, he is not expected to see significant snaps; the source notes he is nine months removed from a torn ACL and the team is 'spoon feeding him back into the lineup' rather than going 'full go.' This limits his fantasy upside against the Bears.

0:00This is an iHeart Podcast. Guaranteed Human. What's up friends and welcome into Fantasy Pros.
0:04This is the Week 8 Running Back Ranks episode.
0:07I'm Chris Welsh. We've got Pat Fitzmaurice and Andrew Erickson here with us as we're going to be looking through the top
0:1336 running backs on Fantasy Pros ECR for the week.
0:16For better or for worse, sometimes we'll be looking through some different names, some deeper names where these guys differ, what ECR, what crazy stuff ECR is doing.
0:25And then we've got a series of these episodes that'll be popping up to a wide receiver one.
0:30Not here, of course. Quarterback and tight end. Week 8 is here almost at the halfway marker.
0:35Bye weeks, you know, kind of going crazy. Just everything in between.
0:38There's really nothing more to be said in that running back front than like anything outside the top 24 looks pretty scary.
0:45You gotta take some big shots. And you know, Fitzy, that's why I just wanted to get maybe a heat check back.
0:51That's why I think you were also so adamant in the waiver episode about why people needed to be aggressive on Jonah Coleman.
0:58Even though Jonah Coleman didn't like step into a job where it's just his and there's no other running backs, there's three
1:05other two other guys that he's fighting, but it's like the running back situation has been really tough.
1:10We've got to be really, really pinpoint sharp shooters on getting the right guys in.
1:14And Jonah Coleman was one of those players that's going to be in the fray of all this.
1:19And he's really the only one who was on waivers this week, who was immediately playable.
1:24And we're getting four buys every week. So it's kind of stretching people thin at running back.
1:29Christian McCaffrey is going to be out this week.
1:3249ers that are going to be on by after that embarrassing loss.
1:35Just this week, well, just, I mean, I saw someone blow their entire fab on Kalen Black really today.
1:41Cause dude, I wouldn't take any chances with this stuff, especially cause it was a thigh injury.
1:46And now it's actually a hamstring injury. Did, is anyone going to be surprised if he shows up after the Bible and be like, Oh, DNP, Christian McCaffrey.
1:54I mean, if we get a Wednesday DMP, it's not going to be good, but, but I mean, this has been the
2:01advice we've given the entire season long was like, if you have Christian McCaffrey and Kalen black was out there, what are we doing?
2:08But this, the problem with letting it and him sit out there for so long now was the fight, you know, the
2:14same thing, get Jonah Coleman before the waivers. Why is Kalen black?
2:18Why was the only 27% out there? Uh, because you want to kind of fight against that.
2:23It really weird space that we've had. Is there been more running backs?
2:26We've wanted to carry, um, that are like handcuffs.
2:29Like it's, it's like running back old school, but is, have there been more handcuff running backs?
2:34We wanted to roster this year than maybe in the last like five years.
2:38I don't know if you guys can retract that in your brains.
2:42Like it's been, you know, Kalen black and Brian Robinson has been in there.
2:46I get, you still got to kind of pseudo consider Blake Corum in there.
2:50Cause this is the, the old school approach was always key.
2:53Keep the, um, you know, keep the handcuff. But I feel like we were a little bit more handcuffed this year than in previous years.
3:00Erickson, any insight thinking through that? I don't think I felt the same way.
3:04No, I feel like it's usually been the same status quo with carrying your handcuff running backs.
3:09I think it's just always tough to sometimes identify which guys are actually worth holding onto where some of these backfields, the
3:16starter goes down and then it turns into a committee.
3:19You don't actually benefit from getting that specific handcuff.
3:22And that's always why it's when you're drafting best ball teams in may and June and July, it feels like, you know
3:28what the handcuff is or what that player is going to be.
3:31But imagine if you drafted all this Jalen Wright, knowing that, okay, well, a chance is going to go down or if he goes down, right.
3:39It's going to be the biggest benefactor. And he was the RB two to start the season.
3:44And then he gets hurt, loses the job to Ali Gordon.
3:47And now you're just sitting all these LJ writes chairs that are, that are just collecting dust because it has amounted to absolutely nothing.
3:54So the same thing with Jordan, Jordan James, right?
3:57I was going to say Jordan James would have been the one everyone was drafting back at that time.
4:03He was another guy that seemed like, oh, he's going to be the handcuff to McCaffrey.
4:07And then nope, because he got banged up. Kalen Black took the job and he now is the is the guy.
4:13So I think once we get more clarification about who these handcuffs are, they then become more attainable to want to keep
4:20on your roster because it's big time upside. And a lot of the times, especially in the way that your league is
4:26formatted, potentially, it doesn't do you a lot of good to have, oh, my sixth wide receiver that I'm never going to
4:33start unless I just really need the depth versus this high end handcuff running back where, yeah, I don't start him when the starter is obviously healthy.
4:41But if there is an injury, I know I can immediately play him as a top 24 option.
4:46I guess it just felt maybe a little bit loud, like a few of the names were like a tiny bit louder.
4:52Like Fitz, we talked about on the waiver show that Trevion Henderson is not a starter anymore and really shouldn't be ranked, obviously, unless buys are.
5:00But he's now turned into that role. He's gone from, you know, advocate to starting to, as I think you guys had
5:07put on the waiver show, he is a Kalen Black.
5:09Like if Ramondre were to go down, like Trevion would be the guy.
5:13I guess I just feel like, and again, maybe I'm just off on it, is the few of the guys that we're
5:20just gripping onto, those are guys that's just louder than in previous years.
5:24Like you got to own Kalen Black, you know, and then Brian Robinson and Bijan and they are not Trevion Henderson is in that.
5:31But, you know, again, maybe it's just a recency thing, too.
5:34Yeah, there are a few of those essential handcuffs, but I feel like there's still only a handful of like clean handcuffs
5:40and even Trevion Henderson, not a completely clean handcuff.
5:43Because if anything happened to Ramondre Stevenson, we'd probably see Corey Kiner get some work, too.
5:48So Brian Robinson, Kalen Black, those guys are obvious.
5:50If the starter in front of them goes down, those guys are hugely valuable.
5:54They're going to be playing like 80 percent of the snaps, getting most of the running back touches.
6:00But there aren't that many guys like that. The guys who are like that, very valuable, and you should probably be getting
6:06them, even if you generally like I don't believe in handcuffing until like Thanksgiving.
6:10Don't don't occupy two roster spots with one position on one team when you can be taking other chances.
6:16But those guys are so important if anything goes down, if the starter goes down, that I think it's maybe urgent to
6:22get them before Thanksgiving when I usually start handcuffing.
6:25That's a great piece of advice maybe to get ahead of here as we're about to step into November and into week
6:31eight is, you know, maybe you can be a little bit more aggressive on some of those handcuffs if you hadn't been before.
6:38All of this talk around, you know, like Kalen Black and he's not playing this week, but people fighting for him and dropping fab.
6:45And, you know, Jonah Coleman was also like a pseudo version of that where I think the assumption preseason was like, hey,
6:52Jonah Coleman's a guy around week eight is going to be viable.
6:55That ended up being absolutely correct. It just it took a couple, you know, turns and we weaved a few times before we got there.
7:02But as you can tell, Bob Al West with the running backs overall, we're going to get into the RB ranks here in just a second.
7:10But as we do here in Fantasy Pros, we look at the accuracy contest every single week.
7:15We are grading out the all the rankers and we've got, you know, the top list and we've also got like an overall for the season.
7:23But for each week, we like to give a little celebration and shout out the top three this week or previous week's week seven.
7:30And Jagger May with the top spot from Football Guys.
7:33Shout out to Jagger. Zach Grubel from Gridiron Experts was number two and Kyle Yates at number three.
7:38I believe Kyle had a three earlier in the seasons as well.
7:41As well. Those are the top three Jagger stand up dude.
7:45And that's a great finish at the top spot.
7:47Our shout outs. Now, these are going to be one.
7:50Fitzy doesn't want this shout out when he finished top 35.
7:53I think that's more than respectable. I would murder for a top 35 right now.
7:58So good on you. But what I want to give you a shout out for was you finished ninth and running back last week.
8:05So we're talking about all of this mess and all this disaster in the thick of the bye weeks.
8:10And you were a top 10 RV rank or Fitzy.
8:13So that's a solid. And then Boggs. Boggs actually finished higher than anybody at Fantasy Pros this week.
8:19And he had a he was 31 and he finished eighth at wide receiver.
8:23So an eighth spot at wide receiver is good.
8:25Ninth ninth at running back. Fitzy, you hold back your disdain and disgust for a not top 10 celebration here.
8:31But I just want to give you guys a shout out for that.
8:35If everybody wants to follow along with us, go to fantasypros.com slash rankings.
8:39Check out the rankings. Half PPR for the week.
8:42Week eight. That's what we're going to be talking about and referencing here.
8:45If you guys want to check it out through the week, you'll see all the updates as more rankers start submitting their ranks.
8:52So just know that some of the stuff that we're talking about will probably some of the numbers and stuff will change.
8:59And some of the players will move up and down.
9:01But let's not waste any more time. And let's talk and look at the big board for running backs.
9:07The top 12. We've got Jameer Gibbs at the top spot this week.
9:11Of course, P. John Robinson at two. Ken Walker at three.
9:14Kyron Williams, Derek Henry and James Cook. That's your top six.
9:17Followed by Javante Williams, Jonathan Taylor, Chuba Hubbard, Jalen Warren, Ashton Jente.
9:21And there's Josh Jacobs. He's in there. So let's talk about a few differences here.
9:25This is a big one. I think we could probably piece some of the storyline together.
9:30But Jonathan Taylor, usually we don't have like a ton of conversation to have around like RB1s, especially because who has the
9:36luxury to not be playing any of these guys?
9:39So just understand there's not necessarily like anyone sitting here.
9:42But this is a big difference. I'm not sure we've seen this big of a difference in a guy that is ECR top 10.
9:49One of you has him as a top 10 and the other has, you know, numerically double the jump as far as how down they go.
9:57But Jonathan Taylor comes in at ECR 8. Fitzy, you've got him at 7.
10:01But Erickson, you've got him at 16. Really bumped down.
10:04He's still going to be started, but your level of trust in him seems low.
10:08And I think that obviously speaks for the sell-off that the Colts are doing right now, trading Quentin Nelson.
10:14DeForest Buckner has gone out. So a little bit of defense, a little bit of offense.
10:18So talk to us about pushing Jonathan Taylor all the way down to 16.
10:22That's not a great spot. You've probably got some squirrely names that are up in front of him.
10:28I mean, there's a lot of running backs I like this week.
10:31But when it comes to Jonathan Taylor, I have a very low level of trust with him in this particular matchup on
10:38the road against the Jacksonville Jaguars, who rank number one in the NFL in terms of fewest rushing yards allowed per game, 51.5.
10:44The next closest team is at 73 rushing yards allowed per game.
10:48Over the last two seasons, nobody has rushed for 70 or more rushing yards against them except Jonathan Taylor.
10:54So you may look at that as, okay, like he can be fine.
10:57And yeah, I think that he can still be an RB2.
11:01Last year in the two matchups against the Jaguars and their elite run defense, JT was RB12 and RB20.
11:06So that's why I have him kind of wedged in between at RB16 because the circumstances around his role in this offense,
11:13again, the offensive line is now even worse because they just traded away one of their best offensive guards.
11:18They're playing on the road behind arguably Daniel Jones, who's playing the worst football of his career right now.
11:24He is arguably the worst quarterback in the NFL right now in terms of how he's played, in terms of all of
11:30his efficiency, how he's performed under pressure. It's been an absolute disaster for Daniel Jones after coming off of the Achilles injury.
11:37And then you also consider the fact that is Jonathan Taylor going to be traded?
11:41I think that he's alive to end up becoming a New York giant.
11:45Do you really think they would move on? I mean, I know they did trade Buckner and Nelson, but those were more
11:51like caveat or those were guys that were like, you know, low contract stuff.
11:55I really have a hard time believing that Taylor's going to go.
11:59But then why show off Seth McGowan? Like why does Seth McGowan just randomly have this increased role?
12:04I know that some people talked about it as pass protection because it was the Vikings and they wanted more Seth McGowan.
12:11Is Seth McGowan's a better pass protector than Jonathan Taylor?
12:14His 25-year-old rookie running back, that's who they trust more against the Bulls.
12:17I just, for me, it's not a coincidence that Seth McGowan has his most involved role of the entire season when all
12:24these trade rumors are swirling about Jonathan Taylor getting dealt.
12:27Now, he still played and had a big role against the Vikings, ripped off that big touchdown run.
12:32But I just have concerns about is JT getting his normal workload?
12:36If it's a lot more like last week where it's more closer to like a 60-40 type of split and McGowan is
12:42getting significant snaps in the first half against this type of defense on the road, I just think this is a terrible
12:48spot for JT to have to overcome and be a fantasy RB1 when he barely kind of scratched the surface last week with it.
12:56Again, he had the big touchdown run that's always in his range of outcomes.
13:00I'm not saying bench Jonathan Taylor, but I don't think he's going to be a fantasy RB1 this week.
13:05McGowan, 7.9% rostered in Yahoo right now. Fitzy, by your token of starting to think about those handcuffs, do you think at all maybe Seth McGowan?
13:13I know he's not on the waiver show, but just as a side note, because I want to get your take on Taylor because you're higher than ECR.
13:21But also, do you think maybe people should get ahead of this?
13:25I don't know where you are on the Jonathan Taylor trade stuff, but should people be looking at picking up McGowan just
13:31in case Jonathan Taylor does get traded? He's under 10% right now.
13:35And he'd be at least flex-worthy, I guess, but the ceiling would probably be pretty limited behind a team for a team
13:41that is in full fire sale mode and is dealing off parts of its offensive line.
13:46But yeah, I think he might be. I know, I forget who had the report, but they said maybe Josh Downs was
13:52more likely to be traded than Jonathan Taylor at this point.
13:55Could see it. We'll see. I mean, Taylor could be the last guy left.
13:59He could be the John Travolta meme walking into the empty room.
14:03But yeah, so for me, I'm one spot above consensus on Taylor for this week.
14:07And maybe that's a mistake. I do think the floor is less certain, less safe than usual for all the reasons Erickson laid out.
14:14But Jonathan Taylor had a tough matchup last week, too, against the Vikings.
14:18Gets 95 yards and a touchdown. And yes, he had the big run that sort of made his day, but he's averaging
14:2520 carries a game and has had at least 15 carries in every game this year.
14:29Only Derrick Henry has more rushing attempts than Jonathan Taylor this season.
14:33And Taylor's also averaging better than two catches a game and he's had at least two receptions all but one game this season.
14:40So the workload has been pretty much everything his investors could have possibly hoped for.
14:44I did drop Taylor one spot. I actually had him up at RB6, but then the Colts traded Quentin Nelson and felt
14:51like I had to at least partially react to that.
14:53So this may be too high. Maybe I come down a spot or two, but I can't imagine benching Jonathan Taylor under
15:00any circumstances this year, even this week, even against a run defense as good as Jacksonville's.
15:05Yeah, none of these ranks that we're doing here really justify saying he's a, you know, he's a bench or anything like that.
15:11But, you know, if things have not caught up, if, you know, ECR is still top seven or eight and we think
15:18it's going to get, you know, the C's are about to get rough.
15:22Maybe Jonathan Taylor is a trade spot in the next couple of days before things start kicking off and you don't want to start dealing with it.
15:30Another running back, not as dire or anything like that, but you guys have a similar situation.
15:35It's just kind of flipped. Chuba Hubbard. Chuba Hubbard comes in at ECR nine.
15:39Erickson is the higher guy. And then Fitzy, you are lower.
15:42So Fitzy, I'm going to just jump back to you real quick.
15:45You still got him as an RB one. You're three spots lower than ECR.
15:49Chuba's going up against Green Bay. Again, nothing crazy here, but you guys have like a four or five spot difference between
15:56you, which is significant in the RB one territory.
15:59So what's up with Chuba for you? Chuba Hubbard has been really good this year.
16:03No question about it. I guess my lower ranking of Hubbard is mostly about the Panthers offensive line issues.
16:09So right tackle Taylor Moten broke his ankle last week.
16:11He's out for the year. The Panthers have to play rookie Monroe Freeling at right tackle.
16:16He's coming off a knee injury and was bad last week against the Buccaneers.
16:20Left guard Damian Lewis has a knee injury. He might not play against the Packers.
16:25And the Panthers have a Thursday night game up in Green Bay four days after getting completely shut down by the Buccaneers.
16:31The 266 yards of offense in that game. And I feel like the Packers might be especially fired up for this Thursday
16:38night home game after getting completely embarrassed by the Falcons in a Thursday night home game a few weeks ago.
16:43Plus, the Packers run defense has actually been pretty respectable.
16:46They are 10th in EPA per rush, 16th in DVOA.
16:49They keep losing key run defenders. Linebacker Edron Cooper tore his Achilles.
16:53Linebacker Zayer Franklin has a hairline fracture of his leg.
16:56And yet the Packers did a pretty good job against Jameer Gibbs last week.
17:00Gibbs had 116 rushing yards, but he needed 29 carries to get there.
17:04He averaged four yards per carry. Holding Gibbs to that in Detroit is pretty good.
17:08So I just wonder with the adverse conditions for Hubbard and the state of his offensive line, if he's going to be able to have another exceptional game.
17:16And he's been stringing together exceptional games up until he ran into the Buccaneers last week.
17:21Don't talk about Gibbs around Erickson. It's a very sensitive subject right now, so just don't do it.
17:26Real quick, Fitzy, Chuba or Josh Jacobs? Jacobs is ranked 12th on this list.
17:30I don't know where you have him, but... I've got Hubbard one spot ahead of Jacobs.
17:35Ooh, five-star matchup against the Panthers. Only Derek Henry and Josh Jacobs are the five-star.
17:39All right, Erickson, you are higher on Chuba. You've been very pro.
17:43Chuba, it's actually a four-star graded matchup, according to fantasy pros on the rank side here.
17:48Again, this isn't like one hates and one loves or anything like that, but you are one spot higher on Chuba and ECR Erickson.
17:55So talk us through the Chuba. He's still the full-blown bell cow for the Carolina Panthers.
17:59That didn't change last week, even though the Panthers offense laid an egg against Tampa Bay, which we acknowledge was a much
18:06tougher matchup for him versus some of the other matchups.
18:09And yeah, the Panther offensive line is banged up.
18:11I feel like it's kind of been banged up all year.
18:15If you look at how Hubbard's actually gotten a lot of his production, it's because he's creating yards on his own after contact.
18:21So he's been contacted at or behind the line of scrimmage on 46% of his carries, which is one of the highest rates in the NFL.
18:29But he has gained positive yardage on 80% of those carries, which ranks highest among all running backs with at least 40 carries.
18:36So Hubbard's doing it all his own. It's not the offensive line that is creating holes for him.
18:41It's Hubbard balling out, and despite the fact that the Panthers played so horribly last week on offense, through three quarters, because
18:48Chuba Hubbard basically didn't play in the fourth quarter.
18:50They took out the starters. He still had 11 touches for 60 total yards.
18:54Still caught four balls on five targets for 27.
18:57He still averaged 4.7 yards per carry. Seven rushes for 33 yards.
19:00The next week, one of his biggest runs got called back because of a penalty.
19:05So his true line was actually eight carries for 63 rushing yards against the Todd Bowles, really tough Buccaneers run defense.
19:11So I think Hubbard's going to continue to ball out here.
19:14Again, Green Bay, what they've been the worst against when it comes to rushing yards allowed is after contact.
19:2092% of the rushing yards Green Bay is allowed has come after contact, which is the highest rate in the NFL.
19:26So even though there is going to be some penetration with this defensive line against Carolina on the road, Hubbard has shown
19:32like, dude, he's up for the task. And I think that overall, this is a good bounce back spot for Carolina.
19:39If you look at them, and this comes from like the betting side of things, they're one of the best teams to cover the spread after they lose.
19:47And then they play on the road. 7-0 against the spread on the road after a loss.
19:52I know, shout out to Matt Peralt on the Daily Juice.
19:55He was all over the Buccaneers destroying the Carolina Panthers last week.
19:58And he used to tease the fact that when Carolina loses against Tampa Bay, we're going to be all over them covering
20:05the spread when they go to face the Packers on Thursday night football.
20:09Well, because the Packers are one of these teams that tends to be overrated when they play at home and when they're
20:15heavy favorites by more than a field goal. So I think this game is going to be closer.
20:20And I think that Chuba Hubbard just continued to be what he's been doing and operating at a really high level this
20:27year as a full-blown bell cow, three-down skill set.
20:30And he's passed the eye test for sure. He looks way more explosive than he did last year.

21:30Mike Tyson. Well, your mobile plan is punching you in the mouth with prices that can knock you out.
21:35But you can switch to boost with a plan that's $25 a month forever.
21:39Boost Mobile. What's your plan? Chuba. One more in this range is RB11.
21:43And it's Ashton Gentry. This is a spot Erickson's got him right at ECR.
21:47Fitzy, you're a little bit lower. You know, interestingly enough, it is gross as some of it's felt of a few of the games on Gentry.
21:55Gentry only has two spots where he hasn't been an RB2 this year.
21:59Um, he's still a flex option. Like he hasn't had, you know, like a five and then a 47 or anything like that.
22:05He's got back-to-back weeks and half PPR of being a top 10 RB despite really lacking in the rush department because he
22:12only has, he has 28 rush attempts over the last three games combined.
22:16Which is a rough number. And I think that's what kind of hurts in the rank department.
22:21But he has still been able to push up some of those higher performances because of the receiving game.
22:26And you've got him at 14, so you pushed him out of an RB2.
22:30Again, it's not like a range that you hate him, Fitzy.
22:34But just curious where you're at on Gentry. Two back-to-back top 10 half PPR finishes.
22:38But he is not getting the carries right now.
22:41Right. It helps that he's getting all this production in the passing game.
22:45He's on pace for 758 receiving yards this season.
22:47But he's outside of RB1 range and half point PPR points per game.
22:51RB13 among running backs who played more than one game.
22:54It's because he's just not doing anything on the ground.
22:57He is averaging 3.1 yards per carry this season.
22:592.3 yards per carry over his last three games.
23:02And he's had under 30 rushing yards in three straight games.
23:05He's had 10 or fewer carries in three straight games, as you know it well.
23:10Like the rushing volume has gone in the Jets defense.
23:13Pretty tough against the run. Eighth in EPA per rush.
23:16They've given up the seventh fewest receiving yards to running backs, too.
23:19So it's going to be maybe tough sledding for Ashton Gentry.
23:22And you wonder if he's totally right after that ankle injury scare we got right before the start of the regular season.
23:29It just seems like he has not been his usually explosive self.
23:32Erickson, where are you at on Gentry? You've got him, I think, right at ECR.
23:37But what's the vibe on Gentry for you? The vibe feels really bad for Ashton Gentry, just noting all of the lack of rushing efficiency.
23:44And Mike Washington has looked better as a ball carrier.
23:47But for the game that we play, fantasy football, I don't think it matters as much.
23:52When you look at the receiving that he's putting up, honestly, I didn't think it was this impressive.
23:57But you look at him compared to every other running back this year, third in routes, first in targets, 44.
24:03First in catches. He's tied with Cush McCaffrey for catches.
24:06I almost kind of fell out of my chair when I was looking.
24:10He has 34 catches this season. That's ridiculous. And you just talked about what he has, 28 carries.
24:15It's like, who cares? Yeah. Like, I don't play in these points for carry leagues.
24:19Like, there's going to be no points. So to me, again, there's no telling whether they're going to get this run game turned around.
24:26And again, going back to the receiving, also first in yards, 312 and third in target chair at 16.5%.
24:32So again, if you have to sacrifice one thing, would you rather him be more efficient as a rusher and not have
24:38a receiving role or have this role as a receiver and be like, screw running the ball.
24:43Like, well, let's just throw the ball with Kirk Cousins.
24:46Dump off galore to Ashton Gentty. And he's making plays with the ball in his hands in space.
24:52So I think that Gentty should be a top 12 running back.
24:55He's facing the New York Jets. Yes, they've been more of a middle of the road type of defense.
25:01But in fact, they just lost the Miami Dolphins offense looked good against the Jets defense last week.
25:06So clearly, Aaron Glenn and his defense has not necessarily hit the ground running in terms of year two turnarounds.
25:12And one thing to note, too, about the Jets run defense, Tavondre Sweat, their big nose tackle got hurt last week.
25:18And they signed a street free agent at defensive tackle.
25:21So that at least suggests to me that he may not play in this game.
25:25So look, I'm not going to be the one that projects this is the big game for Gentty as a rusher, because
25:32I don't know when that will happen. I think that I'll probably miss the boat on betting me over on his rushing yards.
25:38But I think it could come at some point.
25:41And in the meantime, you have the receiving floor to kind of keep you afloat.
25:45If anything, that's what's going to put Ashton Gentty back inside the top 10 against the defense that I think that the Raiders can score on.
25:53So that's why I have him, what, 12 or 11.
25:5611, yeah. It's funny you mentioned that, too, because two weeks ago, we probably had our worst betting show on BP.
26:02The worst show ever was at the week six show.
26:05Week seven, best show. We had the best combined record we could have had in touchdown calls.
26:10So what I'm saying is, please don't bet over rushing on Gentty this week, Erickson.
26:15Please don't put that on the card. We're coming off of our best show.
26:19So go and check that out on Betting Pros.
26:21All right. We're going to jump into the RB2s here in a second.
26:25But let's talk about our friends at Polymarket. Basketball season is here.

26:53That's FPPOD to get $25 free after you deposit just $10.
26:56All right. The big board for RB2s coming in at 13.
26:59Bichel Tootin followed by Bucky Irving, Chase Brown, DeAndre Swift, Ramondre Stevenson at 17, Tony Pollard, and then our back half here.
27:06You've got Brees Hall, Ollie Gordon, Saquon Barkley, Quinchon Judkins, Jordan Mason, and Blake Corum.
27:10All right. Let's go take a look at Chase Brown.
27:13Chase Brown been a little bit dicey in some previous weeks.
27:16The snap shares really went back to Chase Brown this previous week.
27:20And you guys have got, this is another instance here.
27:23I mean, Chase Brown's name value is good. Though I will say he has definitely come up in a lot more questions.
27:29I don't know about you, Fitzy. I know you do a lot of the AMAs on Sunday and I do the show right before.
27:36We were doing TikTok stuff. A lot of Chase Brown in previous weeks.
27:40He got a big snap share. But you guys are kind of different on both of those.
27:45Fitzy's at 15 at ECR. But Erickson, you are jumping in against the Tennessee Titans.
27:50You've got him as a top 10 running back this week.
27:53So again, we're still towing the line of like, are any of these guys really not playable for people?
27:58But just we've been seeing those questions pop up.
28:01So Erickson, what's got Chase Brown for you as a top 10 running back this week?
28:06Well, it was reassuring that he got the snaps back from the previous week before the bye week when it looked like
28:12it was a 50-50 split with him and Samaj P.
28:15Ryan. It went back to the quintessential 70-30 type of split, which is typically what we've seen with Chase Brown and Samaj P.
28:22Ryan now. No, it was extremely tilting to see Samaj P.
28:25Ryan come in at the one-yard line and score the red zone touchdown.
28:29So again, like that's always in the range of outcomes.
28:32But it's not like Chase Brown hasn't seen goal line carries this season.
28:36Like he's had goal line carries the last two games that they have played, just has not found the end zone.
28:42So for me, it's buying into a high-powered offense, playing at home as a double-digit favorite against the Tennessee Titans defense.
28:48That just got run over by the Cleveland Browns rushing attack, which I don't think any of us were looking at as this extreme juggernaut.
28:55So that's the way I see it. He's still involved as a receiver out of the backfield.
29:00Again, out-touched P. Ryan 15-4 last week. So I get that he has been underwhelming.
29:05If you look at running backs in terms of fantasy points scored under expectation, Chase Brown leads that pack, unfortunately, here in 2026 through the first seven weeks.
29:13But you also, who led that category last year through the first seven weeks?
29:17It was Chase Brown. And he ended up finishing the season very, very strong on a high note.
29:22So I think that he'll be okay. Maybe if he's not top 10, I think he's still going to be a fantasy RB1 this week.
29:30Very funny. In baseball, there's very much a reality of first and second half players.
29:34You know, like you look like in fantasy, there are just guys.
29:37Julio Rodriguez would be, I know football people don't really care about it, but like Julio Rodriguez is a prime example of
29:44someone that struggles in the first half and then he just balls out in the second half.
29:49It's just funny hearing you say that because there's not like a really big track record in fantasy football of having guys
29:55that might be, you know, first or second half or, you know, their second quarter of the season type of things.
30:02But maybe there's something trending there a little bit.
30:04Fitzy, you can relate with the baseball, but more importantly, 15, you got him right at ECR.
30:09Is he just kind of mid for you? He's just fine.
30:12Like, there's no excitement or last week, you know, the up in touches over Samajie P.
30:17Ryan, they didn't do anything for you? I do understand Erickson's ranking.
30:21The Bengals offense is kind of humming along and Chase Brown is consistently playing about 70% of the offensive snaps.
30:26I guess my issue is that it seems like something is off with the running game, or at least in regards to Chase Brown.
30:34When they try to go under center, they're not running the ball well.
30:37And that's what they had kind of wanted to do more of this year.
30:41So Chase Brown is averaging 2.7 yards per carry over his last three games and has not gotten to 40 rushing yards in a game since week three.
30:50And Samajie P. Ryan is kind of a poacher on Chase Brown's land here.
30:54And maybe that changes this week because the Titans have given up the seventh most rushing yards to running backs.
31:00But the Bengals have said that they like what Samajie P.
31:03Ryan gives them in the running game when they're in shotgun.
31:06They think his downhill style is a good fit for them when they're in shotgun.
31:10And Joe Burrow likes being in shotgun. To some extent, they've kind of scrapped their plans to be under center more because
31:17Burrow is just more comfortable under when he's in shotgun formation.
31:20So that's kind of what I worry about, that we're going to still see P.
31:25Ryan sort of horn in on Brown's territory at times.
31:27Next running back, there's a big difference with you guys.
31:30It's Brees Hall. Brees Hall comes in at ECR 19.
31:33Erickson, you got him at 18. Fitz, you got him at 19.
31:37Before we get into the analysis, let me ask you both, Fitzy, real quick.
31:41Is there any hedge ranking with this whatsoever? Or is this like the new norm?
31:45Braylon Allen has looked good and he gets to kind of be a part of this.
31:50Is this like there's no hedgy stuff in this rank?
31:53So I've got I've got Allen 29 and Hall 19.
31:56And it's just we have to everyone who's ranking running backs has to figure out how to play this.
32:02And it's hard to tell how the work's going to be divided.
32:05Allen's been great during Hall's four game absence with a quad injury.
32:09So maybe it's something close to a 50 50 workload split.
32:12But I just I tend to think the Jets are going to favor the incumbent starter and the guy they gave a
32:18three year, 43 and a half million dollar contract extension in the offseason.
32:22Yeah, and I think that's fair. And that the question is going to lead to something else.
32:27And I'll actually start it with you then, Erickson.
32:30I was just curious if there was anything in the rank that was like, they're still a little bit banged up.
32:36And Allen, like, you know, you know, like how will sometimes hedge rank or something?
32:40If it's not what I'm curious about. And Erickson had made a comment as I was reading off the list is who do you like more this week?
32:48Brees Hall return going against Vegas or Ramondre Stevenson going up against Miami Erickson.
32:53I'll take Brees Hall. Well, this Raiders run defense has been terrible, allowing the most rushing yards per game to opposing running backs.
32:59Look, we saw two running backs last week, both smash between Blake Corman, Kyron Williams.
33:04So I don't see why the Jets wouldn't watch that game and think, oh, we're getting Brees Hall back.
33:09Oh, we have Braylon now who's been playing really well.
33:12Let's feature both guys. Who cares if it's a 50 50 split?
33:16But we've seen before when the matchup calls for it, you can see multiple running backs both thrive.
33:21And I think we're going to see a decent chunk of both players in this game just based on how well Braylon has played.
33:28I would agree with Fitz where I do think they go back to Brees Hall as the incumbent starter.
33:34They've been pretty adamant. I know last week leading up to the game, they talked about Brees Hall as the starter.
33:40Like he's going back to his role. Braylon Allen's going to get his touches.
33:44But Brees Hall is our workhorse, bell cow, to kind of quote the coaches there.
33:48So that's how I see it. I have them in a similar range.
33:52Brees Hall at 18 for me and then Braylon Allen at RB 26.
33:56So I don't think this is a scenario where you just flat out bench Braylon Allen.
34:01I think that given there's four teams on by, I think that he's still a legitimate flex play even with Brees Hall.
34:07Because there's always a chance that maybe Brees Hall doesn't come back and look 100%.
34:11Or Braylon Allen gets going. Because the other thing the Jets have talked about too is they like a hot hand approach.
34:18And against this defense, you could see, oh, Braylon Allen's just like ripping off big runs.
34:23Like let's just keep him going. Or Brees Hall starts out of the gates really, really hot.
34:28Okay, let's just featuring Brees Hall. So I think both guys have decent upside this week.
34:32Maybe there's obviously a capped ceiling just based on the sheer amount of volume that each player should get.
34:38But you should feel thrilled to start any running backs against the Las Vegas Raiders defense.
34:43So that's kind of the way I'm reading the situation.
34:45Fitz, just one more quick aside. Do you have Brees above Ramondre?
34:49The reason I'm bringing this up too is just Ramondre is higher than Brees Hall.
34:53That's why I was kind of like, do you think there's hedge betting going on or a ranking that's happening here?
35:00Who do you like more, Brees Hall or Ramondre?
35:02I have Ramondre ranked a little higher. Just feel better about the Patriots offense generally.
35:07Okay. All right, Ramondre at 17. Brees Hall at 19.
35:10Braylon Allen actually is going to show up in the next rank at 25.
35:14So pretty interesting list. Final one we'll talk about in this grouping.
35:17How about Jordan Mason? Jordan Mason returns, gets a workload.
35:20Obviously, Aaron Jones was a little bit banged up, but he's already jumped in as RB23.
35:25He's 23 up against the Lions. Five-star graded matchup here.
35:28ECR 23. You guys relatively agree. Erickson, why don't we start with you?
35:32You've got him at 23. Fitz, he's slightly... I mean, you guys do have the difference between an RB2 and a flex here.
35:38But Erickson, talk to us about Jordan Mason and your comfortability of where he is back in that offense.
35:44I mean, he's the RB1, right? Is Aaron Jones going to play this week?
35:48Can they sit this guy down so he can get his knee healthy and right?
35:52I don't understand why they keep putting him out there when he's not healthy or good to go.
35:58He's... I don't think he's left... Or he hasn't played a full game this year where he has not left at some
36:04point with an injury to his knee. So I don't understand why the Vikings continue to trot him out there when he's not 100%.
36:11Especially when you have Jordan Mason back in the lineup.
36:14And that's what we saw last week. I think that Jones got the start, but Jordan Mason was heavily involved from the jump as well.
36:21And then obviously with Jones getting banged up, Mason drew the majority of opportunities out of the backfield.
36:2764% snap share, 65% of the running back opportunities.
36:29And I thought that he looked relatively good. Again, 15 carries for 68 yards.
36:33He had two targets. But Kyler Murray air-mailed him on both of them.
36:37So he didn't have any catches in the game.
36:40But still, I thought, again, he had four missed tackles.
36:43He had a higher success rate than Aaron Jones did.
36:46Again, 15 touches to 9 touches. 68 yards to 29 yards.
36:49So I think that we continue to see Jordan Mason as at least the 1A, depending on if Aaron Jones plays or not.
36:56If they would like to involve DeMond Claiborne or something along those lines.
37:00But there's also a chance that if Jordan Mason falls into that Aaron Jones role that we saw to start the year
37:06where he's seeing every single touch in the backfield, I think that at least gives him a TWOP 24 type of floor here.
37:13And the Lions matchup, they've been better against running backs than pass catchers, obviously, this season.
37:17But that's because teams have just elected to throw all over the Detroit Lions, not because their run defense is like this
37:24unit that you have to avoid at all costs.
37:27They're still bottom 10 EPA per rush face this season.
37:29So I like the workload projection with Mason. I generally like the matchup against the Detroit Lions.
37:34So I think that locks him in as a top 24 back.
37:38Fitzy, you got him at 25. You got him as a flex.
37:41Is this rank around maybe Aaron Jones still playing?
37:44Because I'm curious that like if there it does.
37:47Is this what it looks like if you think Aaron Jones doesn't play?
37:51And then if Aaron Jones actually doesn't play, what do you think that looks like if that's not the case?
37:56I think, well, this is definitely based on the assumption Aaron Jones plays.
38:00And I think earlier in the week, I want to say, or maybe it was right after Sunday or whatever.
38:06He was described as day to day. So which usually means to me that they're probably going to play the following week.
38:13Yeah. And that was Schefter, by the way. They said it's not considered to be significant at this time.
38:18And then a source had said day to day.
38:21That's like the latest thing. I'm searching it as we're going here.
38:24That's like kind of the latest thing I'm seeing.
38:27Yeah. And if he is, if Aaron Jones is out, I would probably have Jordan Mason more like RB19, RB20.
38:33And yeah, he was pretty good. I would take issue with like us having the Lions as a five-star matchup.
38:39They haven't been great. I know their run defense is like 22nd in DVOA.
38:43Erickson mentioned their bottom 10 in EPA per rush.
38:45But they've been much better against the run at home.
38:48They're only giving up 69.7 rushing yards per game at home.
38:52So I think they're kind of a different beast when they're in forward field.
38:56And you just, Mason's not going to give you anything as a pass catcher.
39:00That's the thing. And Erickson noted that he did get a couple of targets and Kyler Murray missed him on both of those throws.
39:07But for the most part, Mason is kind of non-existent as a pass catcher.
39:11All right. Let's go take a look at our flex RB3s, however you want to look at it.
39:1625 through 36. The aforementioned before, Braylon Allen comes in at 25.
39:20Rashada White is 26 this week. Rico Dattel, Emmanuel Wilson, Jonah Coleman coming in at 29.
39:24RJ Harvey at 30. Back half is Omerian Hampton, J.K.
39:27Dobbins, Jeremiah Love, Tyler Algier, Aaron Jones at 35.
39:30And Travion Henderson. Very funny. RB30 hits and it's just like, why would you want to start any of these guys?
39:36Like they are just the most non, it's the unstartables.
39:39You know what I mean? It's the absolute unstartables.
39:42We're not going to talk about those guys because that's an easy response.
39:46How about Emmanuel Wilson? Emmanuel Wilson comes in at 28.
39:48I think there's still a little bit of, I feel like we got the rug pulled a little bit.
39:54It felt like Charbonnet was lining up maybe this past week and then it was like, whoop, nope.
39:59So I do think that kind of aligns to this week feeling like maybe he could, but I don't know if the ranks represent that.
40:07This is graded out on Fantasy Pros as a five-star graded matchup.
40:10He comes in at ECR 28 and you both are quite a bit higher.
40:14So very curious, Fitzy. We could start with you.
40:17You've got him at 24. Erickson's got him at 22.
40:20Is this around you assuming Charbonnet is not going to play again?
40:23Are you starting not to care because of how Wilson plays?
40:27Talk to us through Emmanuel Wilson being an RB2 this week.
40:30I tentatively do have Charbonnet in the rankings, but it was pretty weird that they activated him from IR last week and didn't play him.
40:37Yeah. So, well, they were kind of forced to activate him, I believe, or else Charbonnet had to go to season ending IR.
40:44I think he was like right at the... I think it was like Thursday they had to activate him because of the
40:50three-week window, but they don't have to technically play him, of course.
40:54Right. So they activated him, but yet they deemed Charbonnet not yet ready to play.
40:58So I would have to imagine even if we see Charbonnet this week, he's probably not going to play a lot of snaps.
41:05And I know Emmanuel Wilson hasn't been great this season.
41:08He's averaging 3.6 yards per carry. But he did have 24 carries for 100 yards and a touchdown against a pretty good Chiefs run defense last week.
41:16And now he gets a home game against a Bears run defense that ranks 26th in DVOA.
41:21And they just added Quentin Nelson. So I'm feeling actually strangely okay about Emmanuel Wilson this week.
41:26Erickson, where are you at on Emmanuel Wilson? Same thing.
41:29You know, is Charbonnet pushing this down or up?
41:31I mean, I guess you're higher. You're 22. So I have to assume this is with you not really caring about the status of Charbonnet.
41:39Yeah, the Charbonnet thing has kind of been weird, right?
41:42It really seemed like he was going to play last week.
41:45And then when they asked Mike McDonald about whether he would play, whether Jadarian Price, who's also eligible to come off injured
41:51reserve this week for week eight, when Mike McDonald was asked if those guys could play, he's like, yes.
41:57But then they asked, but could neither play? He also said, well, yeah.
42:01So he's really being kind of coy about how this backfield is going to be deployed.
42:05The one thing I do know is that if Emmanuel Wilson is the healthiest guy, he's the one that has the most fantasy upside.
42:12We've seen this through multiple games where he's had 20 plus carries and the team has just rode him in the second halves of these games.
42:20So for me, the question really came to because this is a Monday night game.
42:25So this puts fantasy managers in tough spot because it's do I start X player on Sunday or do I wait for Emmanuel Wilson?
42:32Yeah. And I guess I'm more in the camp of I think I want to wait for Emmanuel Wilson because this is
42:38a really good matchup against the Chicago Bears. And even if Zach Charbonnet and slash Orjadarian Price are playing and active, what is their role going to be?
42:46How confident are they going to be coming off of the injury?
42:50I thought it was also important to note that McDonald talked about how they have a plan for Zach Charbonnet.
42:56So to me, again, he's nine months removed from this torn ACL injury.
42:59So for me, it really feels like they're playing the slow game with Zach Charbonnet, but really, really kind of like spoon
43:06feeding him back into the lineup versus, oh, he's full go.
43:09We're going to blast off because Emmanuel Wilson can, to his credit, again, the efficiency numbers aren't amazing, but when he's gotten
43:16the workload, he's got over 100 yards and a lot of different games so far this season.
43:21So against the Chicago Bears defense, like that's a top 20 type of upside play.
43:25So I think that I'm willing to wait on Wilson versus some of these other guys where I'm like, OK, like, yeah, Rico Dowdle is one spot ahead.
43:33Like, no, I would rather just wait for Wilson.
43:36And if I ultimately Charbonnet comes back and like Wally pips Emmanuel Wilson, like, so be it.
43:41But I think the process is right with trying to wait it out and chase that upside against this Bears defense.
43:47Jonah Coleman is an important one to talk about.
43:50He comes in at ECR 29. Here's the problem, though.
43:53It's this is hedge ranking. You can't have Jonah Coleman at 29, RJ Harvey at 30 and JK Dobbins at 32.
43:59Only one. I shouldn't say only one. Coleman and like Harvey is probably actually the guy that could be a little bit
44:05more fantasy relevant because of his receiving side. But but no, like that's just the answer.
44:10But no, you can't have all those guys there.
44:12Coleman does get the top spot. Problem is, is the the matchup really stinks.
44:17It's against Kansas City. You guys are both higher than ECR.
44:20Erickson, you're at 28. Fitz here at 27. Erickson, why don't you talk us real quick through Jonah Coleman?
44:25And I hope you don't have a hedge ranking that looks similar to this.
44:29I think ideally the answer should be just like I'm only starting Jonah Coleman and I'm not starting the rest of these guys.
44:36I don't think that Harvey is the worst start, though.
44:39It's not the worst start. I do think he's manageable because he gets involved in the red zone.
44:44He catches passes. If the Broncos are catching or chasing points in this game, you could see more of Harvey in the
44:51passing game and Jalen Waddle might not play. So that's taking out targets from this offense that have to go to other pass catchers.
44:58Is it going to be funneled to Cortland Sutton, Evan Ingram?
45:01I probably not. It's probably going to be more running back dump offs to for bone next to these trio of running backs.
45:08So that's one thing I did want to note that I think that Harvey's still a flex viable option.
45:13Jonah Coleman's obviously the guy you want to play the most.
45:17Justin J.K. Dobbins, you're just hoping he scores a touchdown like he did last week on the lack of efficiency.
45:23So this one is interesting to me because when Sean Payton came out and said that we got to get more touches
45:29for Jonah Coleman, my mind immediately went to a conversation that I think it was us three two years ago when he
45:35was talking up Audrick Estime about getting more touches for his rookie running back.
45:40And Welsh was the only guy I pushed back.
45:42He's like, no, I'm not buying this crap because he does this all the time.
45:47And you bet the under on his rushing yards and it was a smash.
45:51It was an absolute smash. That was a fun one.
45:54I do remember doing that. So like that's something that I'm trying to make sure I consider with the risk here.
46:00I think that, again, given the matchup, Chiefs are allowing the second fewest fantasy points per game, I think is what it is.
46:07Or second fewest rushing yards per game to opposing running backs.
46:10It's not a good matchup for the Denver Broncos run game across the board.
46:14And if it is a three headed committee, even if Jonah Coleman is the one that's leading the way, I mean, look,
46:20if you include penalties from last week, JK Dobbins had eight carries to Jonah Coleman's nine carries and Dobbins didn't touch the
46:27ball in the fourth quarter because they wanted to see more Jonah Coleman and kind of like cleanup duty, which makes sense.
46:33Like you want to be the bruiser back. And that's obviously part of Jonah Coleman's long-term fantasy appeal.
46:39But is that a scenario that happens in this game against the Kansas City Chiefs defense in a game that is just going to be high scoring?
46:46Is the Broncos offense fixed because they beat up on the Arizona Cardinals defense that we talked about as the worst defense
46:53in or one of the worst defenses in the NFL last week?
46:56I'm a bit skeptical. So look, I still think that Coleman is the guy that you want to have in this backfield rest of the season.
47:04But it's also possible that may not return a top 10 or top 20 running back, right?
47:09If they decide to still use a committee with these three guys all involved.
47:13So that's kind of my spiel on it. And I just had to bring up the estimate point because I guess when
47:20Payton said that, it's immediately where my mind went.
47:22I'm like, is this just this again? Are we going to do this again?
47:26Are we going to get Wally pipped? Groundhog's day.
47:29You put your little hand on mine. Fitzy, where are you at?
47:32What do you want to hit on Jonah Coleman here?
47:35Yeah. So I've got Coleman 27, Harvey 32, Dobbins 35.
47:38I think it'll still be a committee. And I agree with Erickson.
47:42We should not listen to a word Sean Payton says.
47:45And it could actually be that the usage kind of pulls closer together this week.
47:49Wouldn't be surprising. Because last, I'm just following how he deploys these guys.
47:53And first came back from the high ankle sprain.
47:56Coleman had 30 snaps. Harvey 16. Dobbins 14. And Hobbins.
47:59Hobbins. Hobbins. He's become one player. So Coleman had nine carries, 54 yards rushing.
48:03Two catches, 15 yards. He led the Broncos backs in yardage, even though Harvey had a 52-yard gain on a screen pass.
48:09So Coleman's only played a couple of games, but he's been really good.
48:13He's averaging 4.9 yards per carry, whereas Dobbins is at 3.4 and Harvey is at 3.6.
48:18Coleman's rushing success rate is 52.7%, solidly above league average.
48:21And he has had 23.5% of his runs go for 10 or more yards.
48:25The league average is 10.2%. So he's giving them a bit of explosiveness in the rushing game that they were not getting from Dobbins and Harvey.
48:32I think Coleman's going to continue to lead the backfield in carries.
48:36I just don't think you're going to get rid of Dobbins and Harvey completely.
48:40Please get their names correctly. Dobbins. That's why we'll only refer to them as Hobbins.
48:44All I can think of is Sean Payton, too, as gone.
48:48And he's like, my precious. And it's just Hobbins.
48:50It's the little two running backs that he's trying to protect and trying to steal.
48:55So, all right. I mean, I'm going to jump over that, but please call them correctly.
48:59Hobbins moving forward. Jonah Coleman is the play. Let's do two quick hitters here as we've extended our RB episode.
49:05Cardinal situation. Jeremiah Love. RB 33. You guys are all over the board.
49:09Fitz, you got him as a top 20 RB.
49:12Erickson, you do not have him ranked on this.
49:14Algier comes in at 34 here. Fitzy, hit us real quick.
49:18You think, this is obviously assuming Jeremiah Love is active, that he's a top 20 back this week going up against Dallas.
49:24I guess he is ranked 33 on this, but going up against Dallas, he would be 18th for you.
49:30Three points. Love was the number three overall pick for a reason.
49:33He's good at football. We think of the Cardinals as being pass heavy.
49:37They're only like mid-pack and pass rate over expected 13th.
49:40And I don't know how pass heavy they can be.
49:43Now with Brissette averaging 5.7 yards per attempt, they just lost number three receiver Jalen Brooks to a season-ending injury.
49:49So they're down to like Michael Wilson, Kendrick Bourne, Devin Duvernay, Simi Fahoka, Reggie Virgil at wide receiver.
49:54And the Cowboys are giving up the eighth most fantasy points per game to running backs.
49:59They're 23rd in EPA per play against the run.
50:01He's 27th in DVOA against the run. I mean, Saquon Barkley not fully healthy at all.
50:06And he had 62 rushing yards against Dallas on seven carries last week.
50:10Erickson, quick hitter. Jeremiah Love, you do not have him ranked.
50:13If he were to be active, what would be your thoughts on him for the week?
50:18I think I'd probably put him where ACR has him in the mid-RB3 range.
50:22Worth noting, Deepak Chona, you know, a friend of the show, he talked about on J.J.
50:26Zacharyson's show that he didn't expect Love to come back into week nine.
50:30So I'm still under the impression that even if he is suited up in week eight, how 100% is he?
50:36Again, this is something, this ankle injury is something that I've been monitoring like so closely, like taking him out of the
50:43game in the second half because they have to make sure that his ankle's okay.
50:47So in this type of game script where if the Cowboys get up big here, is Jeremiah Love even in the game anymore?
50:54He's like, nah, he's like resting his ankle. They don't use him in passing situations nearly as much as they should be.
51:00They have this obsession with Tyler's year on third downs and Bam Knight has played well over the last two games.
51:06So even if Love comes back, LaFleur was talking about how Knight is going to remain involved in the offense.
51:12So I know we talked about the Denver Broncos being kind of this ugly three-man committee.
51:17Arizona might be like, hey, hold my beer. You want to see an uglier one?
51:21Like, come check us out. So that's why I'm concerned.
51:24I just, I see how this could go south very, very quickly.
51:28I see the upside, of course. So again, if you need a, just to take a shot here, we know the talent
51:34with Love and we know that the matchup is really good.
51:37So I get that from an upside perspective, but I think the floor is like ground zero.
51:42All right. The final ones here, deep play. Eric, so why don't you hit us with your, with your deep play for
51:49the week outside, outside of the top 36 of ECR, but you guys probably have your guys higher.
51:54Yeah. I'm going to go with Chris Rodriguez. Continue to play everybody against the Colts defense that just traded away one of
52:01their defensive linemen and that might trade away another defensive lineman by the time we actually get to week eight.
52:06Chris Rodriguez is coming off season high, 55 rushing yards with 11 carries.
52:10I thought he looked pretty good. The last time we saw him for the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Colts defense is not good.
52:17So Chris Rodriguez could find his way into the end zone, like using him in short yardage situations.
52:22So yeah. See you, Rod. Fitzy, deep play at RB for the week.
52:26If you're desperate, Mike Washington for the Raiders. I mean, we've talked about how Ashton Gentry has not been effective at all as a runner.
52:33Washington has been effective 4.9 yards per carry. Now Mike Washington is not a better runner than Ashton Gentry.
52:39I think Gentry's ankle injury clearly affecting him, but maybe the Raiders start to get Washington more involved in the running game
52:45on early down since Gentry just hasn't been right for the last three weeks.
52:50All right. If you guys want to follow along and you want to check out all the ranks that we've been talking
52:56about on these episodes, make sure to go to fantasypros.com slash rankings.

53:19That is it for the RB Ranks episode. Make sure to check out wide receiver and the quarterback and tight end.
