0:00Welcome everyone to week four. This is Stats Versus Film, the flagship show where, as you know, we look at all 16
0:08games that just happened, all 32 teams, and compare what we saw on the tape to the spreadsheets, the underlying metrics, and the stats to help you win
0:18your fantasy matchups moving forward.
0:20You bully your friends, your league mates to continue on to 4-0 in your fantasy leagues. But just in case you're not, Hayden winks. Today it's a special
0:29day because you know after 3 weeks there's a decent sample size here. A number of snaps maybe over 130 140 for a
0:36lot of these players that I think it's time to already bring up players that are giving the people the biggest headaches out there. Aka the worst picks
0:45in certain rounds. I'm going to go through two through six when we talk about those teams individually and uh maybe see if there's any hope or if it's
0:52just time to cut bait and see what you can get in the trade market. How about that?
0:56>> Yeah. Uh, I posted a little fancy points over replacement um chart out there looking at the ADPs from the summer. And
1:03what this metric is is uh how many points you're scoring above the quarterback 12, above the running back 24, above the wide receiver 36, above
1:13the tight end 12, adjust for the flex position, and then you're seeing who's actually performing well across positions. So like right now JSN's
1:21number one in that category. Right next to him is Jamir Gibbs, of course. But you can really see how there's a couple
1:27awesome picks early on and then there's a huge dead zone. Uh even just beyond this, like round seven through eight and
1:35uh there's pretty much like no good picks. So it was we knew it was a bad spot.
1:39>> Yeah. Like from week or from round six to round eight, we knew it was bad. And guess what? It's been really really bad.
1:46>> Yes.
1:47Matt, any thoughts seeing this for the first time?
1:50>> Yeah, it's funny. We talked so much uh I know you guys did on your show obviously we did on the forecast anytime we
1:56collaborated we talked about this a lot that rounds like four to six wide receiver range man bunch of great picks there actually haven't been very many
2:05hits so far uh in that wide receiver grouping I mean you've got Garrett Wilson the guy that a lot of people
2:10didn't really want to click he's been solid here uh Devonte Adams is another guy that people didn't really want to click in that grouping he's been
2:16electric with Pukanua out Christian Watson is the one guy that people were excited about and has really delivered here. So, yeah, definitely um it's
2:25always topsyturvy at the wide receiver position especially. So, you know, what is down may come up at some point, but certainly it hasn't been a bunch of
2:32massive breakouts from that group so far.
2:35>> Okay, that's a bit of a tease. We'll go through each of these teams and definitely bring up the negatives. And
2:39again, I know that's where so much of your focus is of why these guys are only getting four or five points on my roster
2:45and not, you know, the 12 or 13 that I intended. Okay, how this show starts is we go through the 10 headline teams and
2:51then go through alphabetical order after that. And as always, we begin with the prime time games that we haven't talked about, at least on this channel. And so,
2:59let's talk about the Chicago Bears and the Philadelphia Eagles. First up, the winning team, the Case Keenum led Chicago Bears. Um, and Hayden, I'm going
3:07to start off negative. I'm going to continue this trend. Okay, there were a few bad picks in round four, but Colston
3:14Loveland is easily the worst. Okay, I know on this episode over the last two weeks we've talked about Khalif Raymond and his snap counts and his production
3:23versus the wide receivers in Luther Burton and Roma Dunce. Should the conversation actually be Khif Raymond is ripping away any hope that we have from
3:32Coulson Loveland?
3:35>> Well, the last four games last year, he had a 31% target share. In the three games here, we're talking about a 10%
3:40target share. He's still out there running a lot of routes. Uh I I will say it's a lot more like downfield routes
3:46and I think that's maybe to your point where uh the Khif Raymond obviously Luther Burden uh those type of players are gobbling up more of the easy looks.
3:54Coulson Level still getting like some routes in isolation. I wouldn't say that he's crushing it in those routes either.
4:00Just like watching the tape back from this last game, there's like a couple opportunities where like they could have got uh got him going. Uh and then also
4:06like just some bad luck. There's been some attempts like right at the goal line where he was not able to score a
4:09touchdown. So, I think this one will eventually get back to like where it it should be, but the gap between Trey
4:17McBride and Brock Bowers versus Coulson Lovelin, we are not going to close that gap. Like that gap is long gone. Now,
4:23it's like could we get back to Sam Leaporta, Tyler Warren, that type of type of range? And I think he will get
4:28there, but it has not been very promising.
4:32Ye. Yeah. I would just say real quick too about the Coulson Lin thing. It's he's at 29.7 routes per game. Um Trey
4:39McBride is at 36. Jawan Johnson, by the way, is at 36 uh as well. Brock Bower is in one game, 35 routes per game. So, um
4:48that that's that you're right, that gap is unless something really changes here, that's not going to close. And um I obviously was kind of ahead on all of
4:57these top three Bears pass catchers. It was pretty likely that one was not going to work out. Um right now, we've got two
5:04that aren't really working out, but the Loveland one is the one that stings here. And I really do think Khalif Raymond is a huge part of this, man. Um,
5:11I was watching this game back this morning, specifically charting Khalif Raymond, which is not a thing I thought I'd be saying uh in week three of the
5:18NFL season, but here we are.
5:22>> But here we are. And there's just so much that he's doing. You know, I wouldn't say it's like, oh my god, he's
5:26blowing me away, but he's just executing the assignments specifically like his and Ben Johnson was cooking in that game last night, too. specifically his
5:35touchdown, the the deep post route is so well designed. It's a great example of how everything works together. Luther Burden goes in motion and occupies two
5:44defenders on the right side of the field. Roma Dunce runs like a quick slant. He's open. It brings down Quinn Yan Mitchell there. So then the space is
5:51just cleared wide open in the middle of the field for Khif Raymond to run this post route. Again, completely wide open.
5:58He catches it. outruns Andrew Makuba who had a really tough night uh at the office in Monday Night Football and that
6:04was it. And he just is continuing to get these looks and I don't think like he's at this point he's a 32-y old player. It
6:10can just kind of fade at any point for a guy like this. But right now there's nothing that says this should change in
6:16terms of the distribution of snaps, routes, etc. Uh he really changes the picture for all of these guys.
6:22>> Yeah. You mentioned that Ben Johnson was cooking. He will never admit this and no offensive play caller will ever admit
6:29this, but I do wonder if those guys kind of love when these veterans for the last time get to get on the field and just
6:38let it rip and they get to showcase whatever cool stuff that they want to, you know, and then they get all the
6:44credit for it along with that guy maybe playing his last start in his last game, you know, and Ben Johnson was all over
6:48this >> and it it was just really fun to see. It was really fun to see. On top of this, I
6:53love seeing Luther Burton getting 11 targets. Now, if we look at target share ranks among NFL wide receivers, JJ Zachary posted this. Luther Burn right
7:01now is 15th. Khif Raymond is at 26th.
7:04Roma Dunce at 60th. We did see a slight change here for Lutherburn. I understand he's still not playing, you know, some
7:0912 personnel to wide receiver looks, but at the same time, we care most about route shares and drop backs and all that
7:15type of stuff. He was at 66% for the first two weeks. Now he's up to 77%.
7:22And Hayden, once again, if we think about what this Philadelphia Eagles defense does well in terms of protect down the field and then what, you know,
7:31Ben Johnson could dial up here for Case Keenum, it would make sense that Luther Burton and Khif Raymond would get the
7:37most opportunities in this game. But I'm so optimistic of Luther Burton way more than I am the other two names rest of
7:42season.
7:44>> 20.4 expected half PPR points was a careerhigh by 8.4. four. Um, previous to that, 26% target share was a team high
7:51for him. He's the wide receiver, 19 in targets per game. And, uh, I think that he's got like the easiest part of the
7:58offense right now. Obviously, you get that little underhand uh, play where he just I mean, what an awesome touchdown uh, by Luther Burton there. Um, so he's
8:07the one that feels the best. He's actually like the wide receiver 13 in usage across the season. That was a little bit surprising to me. Uh because
8:14the last two games they got them going a little bit more than in in that first one. And I I do think that the snaps are
8:21going to kind of consolidate around these players. Like we're not doing the Walker stuff anymore. Roma Dunce is a full-time player, but he's not getting
8:27any of the easy stuff. And then he's dropping the easiest targets of his life, which is super frustrating. So I think if you were going to rank them, it
8:33would be Luther Burden. I would say that he's an upside like wide receiver two three player. Uh and then everyone else
8:38is just kind of a wait and see.
8:41Yeah, I think that right. I think that's right. I mean, the average depth of target really tells the story here with
8:46these guys. Roma Dunes 17.8, Coulson Loveland 5.11, uh 7.2 for Luther Burton, and then 5.8 for Khalif Raymond.
8:56And the Roma Dunes 17 uh air yards per target. Yeah, the drop. I mean, Hayden, you and I talked about this on the recap
9:02show last night. It was it was so frustrating the moment. I actually woke up last night in the middle of the night
9:06to go to the bathroom and stayed awake for 20 minutes in the middle of the night thinking about it. No, like I
9:12couldn't get back to sleep because I was so bothered by it [laughter] and I didn't have like any fantas I didn't have any fantasy matchups riding
9:18on it. It just bothered me so much personally because it's so frustrating.
9:21Otherwise, he looks so good. He separates extremely well, but you can't you're not going to get a lot of opportunities in this offense. So, you
9:28can't drop the ones coming your way because it's too crowded. And you know, this is just a general theme right now
9:33in the receiver world is that if you are an ex receiver and you are not clearly the best wide receiver on your football
9:40team, >> you're going to be a really difficult player to predict on a week- toeek basis in fantasy. We can go down the list of
9:47teams that fall in that category, some of the ones we'll talk about today. So yeah, it's very much like Adun is going
9:53to have good games because he's a good player, but fantasy-wise, difficult to trust and definitely difficult to trust if you're going to drop the football
9:59wide open in the end zone.
10:01>> Matt, to close this one out quickly, uh there's no way Ben Johnson goes to Tyson Bent in week four against the Jets,
10:06right? It's Case Keenum back again.
10:09>> Oh, yeah. I mean, Case Keenan was great.
10:11He executed the assignment. I I I think to your point, Josh, I' I'd go one step further and say these offensive
10:17coordinators, play callers, head coaches, they relish the option of having their hand tied behind their back for a few weeks and having to try to
10:25figure it out. This is what this is what they live for. So, I think Ben Johnson will be living for it once again uh in
10:30week four, maybe week five as well.
10:32>> DeAndre Swift started uh seven of nine drives, which was a new kind of rotation with with the the running backs there.
10:39So, I'm not sure if like we have like a good theory on why that is, but right now do you understand the RB6 on RB7
10:43usage and I feel a lot more comfortable with Case Keenum rather than like the t the mystery box of uh uh Beijing.
10:51>> Uh I have a theory. Revenge game that simple. [laughter] Maybe it's a narrative, maybe it's not, but you know, revenge game to play more uh starting
10:58start those series than Kamangai. Okay, speaking of, let's go to the opposition here in the Philadelphia Eagles. And guys, um I'm going to be selfish here to
11:07open, okay? because boy did it look good for my Saquon Barkley thoughts and bags and feelings heading into the week. In
11:15the first half, 11 carries for 73 yards and then just four carries in the second half. So, while you know there's been
11:23some washed allegations for Saquon Barkley, I think at least to my eyeballs as an individual he did not look washed, especially when he was given the line of
11:31scrimmage. But Harmon, I am very concerned that this rushing environment is washed for, you know, four straight quarters. That the defense is not
11:41playing up to their standards for the first three weeks and then that the passing offense, if they get in trailing situations, can't keep up and that leads
11:48to them totally abandoning the run in the second half.
11:53>> I think all your concerns are valid and yeah, I don't really I mean, Saquon Barkley washed. I don't think he looks
11:58washed at I don't think he looked washed last year and so far this year it has looked totally fine with Saquon Barkley
12:04as an individual player, but the environment is significantly worse here.
12:08They're trying to run more outside zone.
12:11Uh their success rate is down from 10th on zones zone runs to 20th this year.
12:16That's [snorts] been actually one of the few one of the few changes they're trying to do that not really pushing the
12:20schematic advantages in the passing game as sure as I'm sure we'll talk about.
12:24But yeah, Barkley I think looks fine. I mean when you give him a lane he can explode. We saw some of that early on,
12:29but yeah, the the the way the offense is playing right now overall, the way the defense took has maybe taken a little
12:35step back. This is another thing, too, again, like leaguewide trends. You can have these great cornerbacks and great pass rush, defensive line, but if you've
12:41got safeties and linebackers and safeties is the main one for the Eagles last night. Ben Johnson toyed with those guys. If you don't have good play down
12:48the spine of the defense, especially at the second and third level, you're going to get picked on by these good coordinators right now. So maybe the
12:55Eagles are not a top three defense, but maybe more of six or seven. And there's usually a pretty big delta between the
13:01first and sixth best defense in the league, which is a problem for Saquon Barkley.
13:06>> They also can't block with their tight ends right now or their wide receivers, which is like hurt, you know, the Mai
13:10Lemon stuff and like that's forced some really bad like uh like third and longs and like some punts there. But for for
13:16Saquon Barkley, he's the RB 42 in receptions per game, you know, like you got and you also have to worry about the
13:22tush push. So, unless he's ripping off long touchdowns, it's just hard to make the math work. So, I think right now
13:27he's going to be outside my top 12 in in uh my running back rankings um until proven otherwise. I I think that that
13:34Stinger, they've not been playing him quite as much. They're doing a little bit more Will Shipley. Obviously, Tank Bixby gets involved a little bit as
13:41well. Um but like that little difference there on top of things makes it hard to make the math work.
13:46>> I don't know. The Will Shippy stuff to me is not much of a change because it's like the four-minute drills, the pure
13:50passing situations, and you know, Saquon's not going to get the ball in that environment either. Like again, they just don't dump it off. And
13:57actually, the one that he could have caught last week or excuse me, last night um that was underthrown, like there was a huge canyon of space in
14:05front of him there. So, it's just frustrating to watch. And again, they have the Rams and the Jaguars coming up these next two games. And I just wonder
14:12if this offense can like keep pace with all of that. We we don't have to reiterate this Jaylen Herz conversation again. I mean, everyone that's watched
14:20the channel for a long time kind of knows my feelings on it that when the team has an offensive play caller that
14:27can have Jaylen Herz feel comfortable, then they can maybe extract some plays and some passing concepts out of him that he typically doesn't feel
14:36uncomfortable or doesn't feel comfortable accessing. Um, that has been the Shane Syens, that has been the Kell Moors, right? Uh, and then if they can't
14:45do that, you get play callers that the fan base wants to fire after three games. And Shawn Manion is kind of on
14:52that trend so far a little bit here. So, it's it's I mean, they just have to completely Matt get rid of the Mai Lemon
14:58passes behind the line of scrimmage. Not one of those has worked. And then on top of it, like be consistent in your
15:04decision-m on fourth downs. Hayden and I talk about this all the time where you can be aggressive but you have to
15:11constantly be aggressive or if you constantly want to punt then you have to punt in every single one of those situations and the series first one
15:20fourth and one take the delay of game and the second series in the exact same spot go for it on fourth and six makes
15:25zero sense when you zoom out from this regard >> yeah I don't need to see another Mai Lemon plays the Jaden Reed role again in
15:36my life like those type of targets and like take those plays and throw them in the trash can. And to your point um just
15:42about the way the this Eagles offense feels right now, it feels exactly the same as it ever has. I mean, they're dead last in
15:48play action rate this year. They're down from 24% to 9% use of heavy personnel down. Of course, we know their injuries
15:55are a big part of it there. Um 26 and under center rate. They were 30th in motion last year. They're 30th this
16:00year. What's old is new again. Like this is the Jaylen Herz offense. And um honestly at this point I' I'd maybe just
16:06completely lean into that. Like again the the the some of the other things like the screens and stuff not really working. You have three talented
16:13receivers. I'd like to see Mai Lemon used in more of kind of the intermediate area. He's been just hit or miss to me.
16:20I don't think his film has been awesome but it hasn't been disgusting. So can you get him a little bit more ramped up
16:25in ways that make sense? Because at this point I think this is just what it's going to be. It's going to be uh kind of
16:31a spread and shred type of attack. And I think they have the three receivers to essentially get that done. And then
16:36again to your point about the decision-m too. What's old is new again. It's like what does Nick Serriani do here? Big Dom
16:42is trying to get himself on camera more and more. It's just again same old stuff for Philadelphia. Not a lot of changes
16:47here which is unfortunate. Maybe by the end of the season could be different but three games in uh three good matchups
16:52too. It's like I said just more the same.
16:56>> I got nothing to add.
16:57>> Anyone want to add Hen?
16:59>> No. Okay. Last thing I'll add is that last season they were the worst in terms of three and out rate across the NFL and
17:06this year they're 28th. So again, it's everything's the same. It just freaking sucks. And >> I I don't think that I overestimated
17:14Saquon Barkley's individual talent. I think that's out there. What I overestimated was their ability to have a stable rushing environment and getting
17:23back to a really good blocking offensive line. And that's just not there at this point. Maybe it gets to that point
17:27because the Eagles have been one of the best franchises in the NFL for let's say the last decade, but um it's not
17:32certainly not looking good right now.
17:34Okay, let's go to the Los Angeles Rams.
17:36I know you guys uh have both talked about this, but I want to bring up that the Rams in despite the Pukanua injury
17:47are still able to find specific targets and it is Hayden number one Devonte Adams and then number two whatever tight end is out there in a passcatching
17:58situation. So talk about Dvonte Adams Hayden and then also talk about who that tight end might be in week four for not
18:04just people's tight end spot but also flex possibilities.
18:08>> Well first of all on the Dvonte Adams front he looks awesome individually. He he roasted Patan for the entire game.
18:14Like there was a lot of one-on-one opportunities some off coverage some press coverage and was awesome on it. He also like split that safety on that like
18:22little choice route over the middle and that was like the fastest I can remember him running as a Los Angeles Rams. So
18:29like once again completely has it. Even if Puka Nakua is back in the lineup, I think he will still be a top 15 wide
18:36receiver. We don't know if Puka is going to be back. Uh there's that's still like a complete mystery to me. Which brings
18:41me to the the tight end room. Uh Tyler Higgby stepped right into the Terren Ferguson role after that ankle injury.
18:49And then Kobe Parkinson, he's going to be questionable this week with an AC joint and a knee injury. I'm gonna guess
18:54that both of those players miss. And then all of a sudden, like we were fired up to start Terence Ferguson, Kobe
19:00Parkinson was a top 15 tight end last year. Like to me, Tyler Higgby is the the name that has gone overlooked ahead
19:06of the waiverwire. If you are in tight end trouble right now, you can get Tyler Higgby probably for free on the waiver
19:12wire. And he's done this before and I thought that he had a couple nice plays on tape as well. Like there's only so
19:17many guys they can get the ball to. Like Bumfield, that's as much as they're going to get. Whittington's as much they're going to get. You can't get
19:22Davis Allen in there to too much either.
19:25Like to me it's going to be obviously Dvonte Adams then it's going to be Tyler Higgby assuming Pukinu is going to miss
19:30another one.
19:33>> You know he's been getting the football a lot in in the passing game is also Kairen Williams. Um I was kind of
19:38stunned to look at his receiving usage.
19:404.9 yards per target for Kairen Williams among running backs with double digit targets. That's easily number one.
19:46Number two is Devon Achan. Uh you know obviously no longer in our lives. 2.4.
19:51He's doubling up Devon Achan on his 12 targets in terms of the air yards. Only two of them have been checkdowns, too.
19:56So, that's like how Kairen Williams goes from a guy that's, you know, super consistent and we really like to really being another another level of weapon uh
20:04for your fantasy teams this year. Like, I was just talking about this with Ry on the the forecast for the data dump show.
20:11Would you rather have Kairen Williams or Ashton Genty in fantasy? I I think I said I said Kairen Williams. Like, would
20:16you rather have Saquon Barkley or K? I would go Kiran in that situation, especially with they need to find different answers. I think Tyler Higgby
20:23can be an answer, but you know, Kairen Williams as a receiver, this is a big part of it, too.
20:28>> Totally. Again, he either scores a touchdown when they, you know, post 26 points uh or if they're trailing or tied, he plays like 75% of the snaps
20:37like they like he did in this game. So, it's uh it's a sweet role that he has an offense that totally trusts him. Go
20:43ahead, Hayden.
20:44They had him in the slot a lot more uh in this last game, I think, because they're missing so many bodies out
20:49there. And earlier in the game, there was two uh quick outs from the slot that were both completed. And then on that
20:54pick six for Huanga, uh that was also a slot uh quick out and Huanga just ripped it. And uh he wasn't even supposed to be
21:03defending Kyron Williams for the pick six. And then of course later on in the game, uh the Rams look like they're
21:08going to do another uh quick out to Kyron Williams. He busted back inside for an angle route. a little cat and
21:12mouse going out there, but I think to your point, just he's like in the slot as like a first read target on on some
21:17of these passes as well. So, I think that he's a no doubt about it uh top 10 fantasy running back right now.
21:23>> Okay. To your point, hey, on Tyler Higgby, um we record the waiver show with Joel before the T Ferg news hit and
21:30obviously the Parkinson stuff. So, he definitely would have been a name that I was going to mention. So again, when we're getting to this point with flexes,
21:36never has it been a better position to consider, and I'll just use the word consider tight ends in your flex spot
21:43this year. I mean, outscoring the wide receiver 33 and like the running back 25 this year. So that's uh very notable.
21:49Matt, I want to send to you and Hayden, I want your answer to this question. A lot of people out there drafted Puka.
21:55What should they do? Should they trade him? Should they trade for him? And if you were to trade him away, name one
22:02player that you think is like fair value for him at this point.
22:07>> I mean, fair value for him. You're not gonna You're probably not going to get fair value for him. I feel like you just
22:11have >> You want me to throw some names at you?
22:13>> Yeah, throw some names at me. I mean, because there's a few I'd think like what's what's fair? What's relevant?
22:18>> Would Would you trade Puka Nakua straight up for Christian Watson?
22:25>> No.
22:27Hayden, >> I would take Puka, but that's close.
22:30>> Yeah.
22:30>> Okay. Well, I'm not gonna go any lower than that. Like the next one I I would have said yes. Like I I would rather
22:35have Christian Watson rest of the season, I think, than than Puka Nakua just because I am kind of terrified of of the injury stuff here with this. Um I
22:44mean, the next question I was going to ask is like Parker Washington, but that's, you know, wide receiver 10 at this point. So you you you guys are more
22:50optimistic than I am that Puk is going to come back and look extremely solid.
22:55um versus I think Christian Watson has obviously an injury history on top of it, but uh has this very stable position
23:03and production that we've seen so far with him too.
23:06>> Yeah, [clears throat] I would just be a little worried about like their the bottom falls out on the Packers completely, but you know, the Rams look
23:11a little shaky as well. So, we'll see.
23:15>> Chris Ave.
23:17>> Oh, yeah. Easily I would take a lot like I would take like the Olve Flowers types. I know Flowers is not like 100%
23:22healthy right now. I would take those guys for sure ahead of Puker right now, but I don't know if I'd go all the way
23:26down to the Christian Watson defense.
23:28>> Okay. I just I just wanted to gauge that. Okay, let's next take it to their opponents who came back and won. It is
23:34the Denver Broncos. Um Hayden, talk about Jaylen Wadd. Um we had week one, then we had week two, and now we have
23:43week three. What are your thoughts just overall of us hyping up Jaylen Waddle so much this summer and if that's going to
23:49hit for us on a weekly basis?
23:52The floor is definitely lower than I thought it was going to be. Just the whole connection between Nicks Waddle and then Davis Webb like has just not
23:59been all that clean. Uh just 7.5 yards per target is way below his career yards uh per target. He's had another drop
24:07here. There's been a couple I would say late throws from from Bo Knicks. And then I will say in that game I did think
24:13that there was some nice routes from from Waddle and like some good play designs and then just the Ram just had
24:17great coverage on it that either McDuffy or just the zone defense as well. Like that's just like the reality of it. It's
24:22kind of a boring answer, but there was a couple like near misses for like for a couple more extra plays there, but uh
24:28wide receiver 23 in targets per game. I I probably would have thought he's going to be higher than that. Um, they at
24:33least got him on that little end around for 14 yards, broke a tackle there. But yeah, it's been like maybe a half step
24:39worse than I thought it was going to be.
24:41>> I I feel pretty similar to how Hayden does where the floor is just a little lower than I wanted it to be. I do think
24:46that um Jaylen Wadd's got to be having a little bit of PTSD when it comes to the to how fast he would get that ball out
24:54and get to the checkown. Like Bon Knicks is so it's egregious sometimes. You got to let that play develop, man, before
25:00you get to the R.J. Harvey checkdown. I mean, Harvey's receiving usage is absurd, and I don't know that those plays are all that good for the offense.
25:07So, uh, that was something that Wadd experienced a lot, certainly uh, with the Miami Dolphins where the ball's out before the routes can even really
25:14develop. And, yeah, I think his route tree is a little bit more vertical than I would have thought. Um, you know, I
25:20thought there were going to be more kind of gimmies in here, but they've spread that thing out a little bit more than I
25:25would have thought. But still, at the same time, Ner's this week, Chargers, uh, the week after that. I mean, Wadd is
25:31going to be in my lineup every single week and you're just going to have to kind of live with some of the ups and
25:35downs.
25:36>> Yeah, we kind of have to ping pong it here a little bit where it's the 49ers, which might be a little bit rough this
25:41week. Then we get the Chargers. That's nice. Then it's Seattle, then it's Arizona, then it's the Chiefs, then it's the Panthers. So, it's almost like an
25:48off and on type thing. And rather than being once again this consistent top 12 potential wide receiver that was in the
25:55range of outcomes I thought uh he might kind of settle into, you know, the wide receiver 2/3 territory that we actually
26:02drafted him in. That's going to have some highs and some lows >> on on top of it. But guess what? That is
26:07what fantasy football is at this point.
26:09Hayden, anything you want to add about the the running back room without Jenna Coleman here?
26:13>> It was kind of the same thing with JK Dobbins getting the early down work, then R.J. Harvey is going to mix in for
26:19for some of the the checkdowns, but also some of like the manufactured touches in the red area. Dobbins has a 24% rushing
26:25success rate. Watching that game back, the center is really struggling. The tight ends are also struggling as well.
26:30I think JK Dobbins does not look quite as fast as like he uh used to, but I think a lot of these plays are kind of
26:36like dead on arrival at this point. We have not seen the goal line touchdowns for JK Dobbins. I think that will get
26:41better. And I think the schedule like was pretty uh rough to open up. you get Spags, the Jaguars, and the Rams there.
26:47Like those are probably three potential top 10 defenses this year to open up the schedule. So, I wouldn't be surprised like Dobbins kind of settles in as like
26:54a playable flex. I think R.J. Harvey's kind of right there uh as well. And then hopefully Waddle can kind of get things
27:01going, but I don't I don't really expect Harvey to eat into JK Doin's early down work uh for a little bit here.
27:08Yeah, I'll just maintain that this back really doesn't matter and the scene just kind of has to play better for
27:22any to matter of that. If I'm just a little nervous, Matt, that JK Dobbins is ever going to
27:34be fancy relevant for us this season.
27:37Yeah, and the run game just the way it has been right now from a success standpoint and the lack of it with JK
27:43Dobbins, I think it's also put the offense in bad down and distance situations too. So hopefully that can get corrected. And I think the the point
27:50is right here that there's a lot of things going on with I think JK Dobbins maybe look he's another year older a lot
27:56of injuries like you know that not a lot of tread on the tires but a lot of injuries uh on the car here and then
28:02also just run game schemes a little le just the Davis web part of it it still remains like what was what was the point
28:09of all this uh are we sure this was the best idea for the football team and certainly you feel that in both the run
28:14and the pass game. All right, we have a new start and quarterback to talk about.

29:08New starting quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. His name is Jaylen Daniels. A story we don't hear very often. Undrafted free agent quarterback
29:15earned the quarterback to job in training camp. That is quite uncommon.
29:19We know Baker Mayfield is out at least three weeks with a dislocated thumb. Uh Hayden Baker Mayfield has been one of
29:25the worst starting quarterbacks in the league. He is a magnet contact. His throwing stuff has been brutal on top of it. Could Jaylen Daniels actually be a
29:33positive when we look at a Mechuka's season for the next three or four games?
29:36I'm serious.
29:38>> Um, I'm not sure about that. We're talking about undrafted free agent. I will say this, I did go back and watch
29:43all of his preseason stuff and and then obviously there's like just Hail Mary attempts there. He wants to throw the ball deep. I think his arm is pretty
29:50live. He's not super mobile, but he can run a little bit. Um, and he's played a bunch of snaps. every single uh person
29:57that's really been around him has said he's really smart and then you know like Nate Ty was like saying hey this guy's
30:03kind of nice and then I was listening to Greg Coell talk about his favorite player in the draft was Jaylen Daniels
30:09like there's more to the story than other undrafted free agents uh but at the same time like you know what there's
30:16a one in 10 chance that he like has a little spark here um you know that's just like kind of the history of the
30:21being a rookie quarterback as an undrafted free agent I I mean, I'm open to anything, Josh, because this has been I think I I think
30:30this has been the most annoying team to watch uh or the most frustrating team to watch, which which is saying something
30:35through the first three weeks of the season cuz >> there's so much that looks good from a design standpoint. Um like Ted Hurst has
30:43given him a little something some. I think achuka has been like just wide open on so many plays and then him and I
30:49don't know if it's like Mayfield and him aren't on the same page which is bizarre because they played a whole season
30:53together last year and I love the way they're getting Ibuka in motion. He to me is a great I mean it's hard to say
30:59because I mean Mayfield's I guess tied to this team for the long term but Ibuka feels like a guy that in three weeks is
31:04going to be an awesome dynasty buy if Jaylen Daniels comes out and doesn't play well. Um but I'm open to anything
31:10because Baker has been that bad. like he truly has been the number one problem for this team. And he's not the only
31:16problem, though. I mean, Bucky Irving looks good, but Bucky Irving also, he'll have like three great plays and then a backbreaking mistake uh to go along with
31:24it, too. The offensive line is supposed to be one of the best units in the league. And I think it's probably more
31:28of a schematic or, you know, Baker Mayfield not identifying blitzes coming in because they're just getting smoked by these blitzes and the and the
31:36pressure looks from Flores in week three, which everybody does, but still like this is a veteran quarterback, veteran offensive line. It shouldn't be
31:42this bad, but my god, this team has been brutal, brutal to watch uh through three weeks.
31:48>> Yeah. The two things about the Bucks heading into the season was that their offensive line was supposed to be top
31:53three in the league. Uh, and then you know they were supposed to add a whole bunch of their pass rush with Ruben Bane
31:58and some other players and that just hasn't quite worked out as planned. And so if like the two gold star maybe
32:06focuses of your off seasonason uh aren't panning out then you're going to struggle and and their own three.
32:11Hayden, I went back and watched the same thing like with Jane Jaylen Daniels. He stands in the pocket. He's willing to
32:17stand and deliver there. He has a strong arm. He will work over the middle of the field, which is where a lot of the Mecca
32:22stuff is going to happen. Again, I don't want to shout from the rooftops. This guy's going to be, you know, the next
32:28XYZ quarterback that we've seen make this huge transition from undrafted free agent. However, again, it's been so brutal with Baker and they get the Green
32:36Bay Packers this week, albeit off a couple extra days rest, but they are struggling at every level of their defense, too. I'm slightly optimistic
32:44here that it might not, you know, reach the peaks of where we drafted mechuka, but at least like give some flow to this
32:52offense in a way that it just has felt disjointed and broken these last couple of weeks.
32:58>> He's still the wide receiver, 26 in usage. Like the underlying stats have been like totally fine. I I think that
33:03they're still like working to get him to like be the guy in the offense. Like you just see like the the motion snaps like
33:08he's moving across the formation. Um, and I I think he is getting pretty open as well, like Matt uh said there. Um,
33:15pivoting to the the running back situation. Fourth quarter was very interesting. Bucky Irving got absolutely truckstick in in pass protection. And I
33:22don't know if he had like a setback to his shoulder or if they just like outright benched him, but he did not
33:26play.
33:27>> They put ice on his should.
33:30>> Okay. So, his hip, not his shoulder.
33:32That I guess that's I guess that's fine.
33:33Um, but he got absolutely lit up there and he had a drop in this game. It's It's up and down with Bucky. He makes
33:38somebody miss in uh between the tackles and then I think kind of the rest of everything with Bucky Irving has not
33:44been like that clean as well.
33:46>> Matt, can I ask you one question? We have Jaylen McMillan who's hurt again for the next what six or eight or nine
33:51weeks. Um Ted Hurst has been playing a ton of snaps. Ted Hurst is the only player of his styling on this offense.
33:58Ted Hurst had a 40-yard touchdown down the scene that was quite nice. He has had a ton of high variance targets
34:05against the Cleveland Browns uh in pivotal situations. What have you seen from Ted Hurst coming out of Georgia State?
34:12>> Yeah, Jaylen McMillan, it's unfortunate.
34:14He just I just don't think he can stay healthy. Uh it's like one thing after another with him. Uh which is
34:18unfortunate because he's flashed a little bit. Ted Hurst is some good, some bad is the way I would describe it. Um
34:24which is kind of the case honestly for all of these rookies. Some good, some bad. Um, you know, I think I need to see
34:30more to kind of consider him as a fantasy option or someone that should even be rostered. Uh, but certainly like he's out there for every single snap.
34:37He's going to pretty much be out there for every single snap because he's an ex- receiver. And I think he's had some
34:42impressive moments in isolated looks against press man coverage. But, you know, to Hayden's point, like you can tell when you watch a team who they're
34:49designing things around, and it's so clearly focused on like Kamecka Ibuka should be getting the ball 10 times a game. The fact that he doesn't is is
34:56pretty concerning. But I do like I think Ted Hurst is off to a nice start to his NFL career and I could see him being
35:01depending on what the hell this offense looks like. I could see him being a back half of the season type of player.
35:06>> And I say that because they live out of 11 personnel. You know, they they don't have multiple tight ends that they like
35:11to use as much. And so he's just going to play a ton of snaps from here on out.
35:14Um yeah, go ahead, Matt.
35:16>> I mentioned that all these tight end route stats earlier. Kate Hotton is up there with like 34 routes per game. It's
35:22just like not like nothing happens.
35:26win sprints, but like five yards down the football field. So, [laughter] >> yeah.
35:30>> Yeah. Chris Godwin right now is wide receiver 57 in points per game, 6.3, 7.3, and then four points this past
35:37week. Um, I will say an 85 yard touchdown called back. It was a correct call. I mean, it was a hold. Baker
35:42Mayfield would have gotten leveled, but it did show uh maybe the most juice that Chris Godwin has shown uh over the last
35:48two years. Okay, next team. Let's talk about the San Francisco 49ers. Uh Brock Pertie is just playing MVP level football right now. Uh I mean an easy
35:59question is you want to know one reason why Pertie is still thriving despite all of his wide receivers getting hurt? It's
36:05because the 49ers have only allowed 12 pressures in true pass sets all season long. So again, this is all connected
36:15and pretty in plays where he has to elongate them or he has to win against pressure, he's doing that. But so
36:21consistently uh he is giving a platform success and he is thriving.
36:26>> Yeah. Not to take anything away from Brock Pury who's hasn't made like a negative play yet, but the environment right now is lights out. They just
36:34became the 10th offense to not have a sack in the first three weeks ever. And like there's four Dan uh Dan Marino
36:40teams in there. A couple Payton Manning teams in there as well. And then on first read throws, EPA per dropback, 49ers are number one by a mile at almost
36:48a full point uh of e expected points added per uh drop back there. Uh by the way, the Patriots dead last are actually
36:55in the negative. So the first reads are open. They're wide open frequently like the George G stuff. Like so many of
37:00these targets are wide open down the football field. Then you throw in the little hook and ladders and stuff like everything is smooth right now. And the
37:07rest of the offensive line, aside from Trent Williams, is playing well. And it really helps that Brock Pertie is like making the quickest decisions ever out
37:13there. And he can scramble around, too.
37:15So, I'm not trying to take anything away from Brock Pur. He's been excellent, but the rest of the environment around him
37:20has been >> equally as good.
37:22>> Yeah. Also, I'm not taking anything away from Brock Party, too, but he's authored probably the two best quarterback games we've seen so far this year from an
37:29adjusted net yards p attempt perspective. E paper dropback. They did come against the Dolphins and the Cardinals. Schedule gets a little
37:35tougher here. Broncos this week. Uh Seahawks the week after that in Seattle.
37:39I will say Denver though, you can pick on the linebackers in coverage and that's pretty much what Kyle Shanahan lives for and they have a lot of players
37:46to do that. They don't necessarily have a lot of players uh at the wide receiver position. They're running Cadarl Hodgej out there. Um the lot of dudes I do not
37:53have in the reception perception database. I'll just say that.
37:57Well, Matt, I was going to ask you about the wide receivers because again, Mike Evans has had a very nice start to the
38:03season after his stop start preseason with the groin and the quad and all this type of stuff. Um, but now we have a rib
38:10on top of it and we haven't even got to the hamstrings yet. So, I'm not trying to be again negative Norris and talk
38:15about Mike Evans impending doom.
38:17However, the wide receiver room, let's say if he is banged up or a 50% or even a 30% snap player this week, uh it is
38:23Debo Samuel who had an 80 yard hook and lateral and didn't have a catch. No Demarcus Robinson. And so Joel Smith out
38:32of nowhere from the heavens brings up Jordan Watkins name on the Waverwire show with his two catches for 60 yards despite him only playing like 30% of
38:41snaps. And then other than that, it's like Christian Kirk might be coming back in week five. you you get uh Brandon
38:48Cooks maybe moving up and then yeah, Cado Hodgej running running a ton of win sprints. So, I guess my question is can
38:54any of these guys be relevant for us in an offense that we definitely want pieces of?
38:59>> I think God this is crazy, but I think Cooks could maybe give something if he gets to the active roster at some point
39:05because he's a really smart player. Kyle Shanahan is notoriously super demanding on these wide receivers and he did make some impact for the Buffalo Bills last
39:14year in an offense that's a lot more loosey goosey. So I think this is a situation where Cooks if he could get up
39:19there could actually maybe be in fantasy consideration. Other than that like I don't really know how to calibrate to the Watkins and the Hajins the Canad
39:28Hodge types of the world. So yeah I'll give a I'll give a quick little hat tip to Brandon Cooks if he can get to the
39:34roster.
39:35I will say Debo Samuels getting really close to being a top 20 wide receiver for me if Mike Evans is out. You know, I
39:41think that he he looks he looks really fast like that on that 80 yard. He had to he had to actually beat the safety up
39:49the sideline for that. He was able to do that and they're just still doing some backfield stuff some and you know like
39:54the typical Debo. Um so I think that's excellent. And then George KD is just keeps getting wide open. that that playa
40:01action um touchdown late in the game where they didn't even need it was like so hilarious that they got every linebacker to bite there and he just
40:09looks a little bit faster and he I think he slipped to the first game a couple times there but since then he hasn't
40:14slipped at all he's just running full speed and he looks awesome. Yeah, production has a great chart up here with the 49ers wide receiver finish
40:21usage 27th or 28th, excuse me, across the league. And so the answer to my question is probably not that uh it's
40:28just going to flow through KD and CMC and Debo Samuel and and that's it. Like we have seen this song and dance before
40:34with the 49ers and they're still going to put up you know 25 26 30 points doing that. Um, also CMC is only giving up
40:42touches if you know this team's up by 10 plus points. And so Kaylin Black like not getting anything here. Okay, let's
40:48move on. Let's talk about the Pittsburgh Steelers who are a roller coaster organization themselves, Hayden. Uh, but one of your favorite picks in all of
40:55fantasy football paid off in week three.
40:58Jaylen Warren had an awesome day as the only running back on this team. So I guess that leads me to this question.
41:05Will the role maintain what it was in week three if and when Rico data returns from this toe injury? Like did Jaylen
41:13Warren do enough for that or is it going to kind of go back to this split backfield stuff where he was averaging
41:19fewer than nine points per game?
41:22I thought in week one and week two Jaylen Warren was significantly better than Rico Dattle. I I would say in every
41:27phase as a receiver, pass protector, and rusher. And then this last game he was excellent. And then the in the interim
41:34and I think uh Rico D is still in a walking boot and they play on Thursday Night Football. So I think it's going to
41:39be Jaylen Warren again here on Thursday night. Since week two, Warren has played 106 of 114 snaps without Rico D. They do
41:47not use anybody else out there. Like when you get to 93% snaps, you are pretty much a low-end RB1 whether you
41:54want to accept it or not. They get the Browns here, the slight favorite. So I feel really strong about him. He had
42:0019.1 half PPPR points, RB14 usage, and that turf monster. That really was the reason why he wasn't like a top three,
42:07top four fantasy running back last week.
42:12>> Yeah, seven running backs this year have had a game where they've been over 90% of the team touches. They averaged 21.5
42:19points in those games. And for the most part, it's like two Jir Gibbs games, two Jonathan Taylor games, and an Han game,
42:25the only kind of down one. And then James Cook. So that's where that's where Jaylen Warren is going to rank as long
42:29as there's no Rico Dattled. It's it's a it's a pretty cut and dry case. I think he's good. I would like to see I would
42:35actually like to see more of Jaylen Warren on a routine basis.
42:39>> Yeah. Uh this passing attack, did it move you at all, Matt? Uh I mean it probably looked the best that it has all
42:44season long there.
42:47>> Not really. A lot of busted coverages from Cincinnati. A lot of miscommunications there. It was pretty much the same old stuff where Yeah. when
42:54>> the field for A-Rod. Look at that. I was going to say when it is a perfectly clean look and it's mostly like up the
42:59seam. It's not a lot of these in cut routes consistently. Um, you know, G getting Michael Pitman back that's that's nice. Although I don't know that
43:07they had the best connection in the world in week three. Uh, that's for sure. Roman Wilson showed a little something. And this is the thing with
43:13Roman Wilson is he's an explosive player. He I don't he's a he's a fast player. Like he can he can move and
43:20people mistake that a lot for good route running. I think he's not a good route runner whatsoever. He doesn't really know. This is one where, you know, Aaron
43:27Rogers throws guys under the bus. He's constantly mad at people for landmarks.
43:30This is one where I actually I'm kind of on Aaron's side when it comes to the Roman Wilson thing because he is a
43:36pretty he's pretty sloppy receiver overall. But when you are the slotbased player and you're running these routes where the the damn Bengals can't cover
43:46these players, it's going to happen sometimes for you. So, I I overall think this is kind of a oneame sample size for
43:52the team. Uh but you know it was good to see something interesting out of the Steelers offense because they were a
43:57tough watch the first two weeks.
43:59>> Yeah, Jack Miller pointed this out. The Roman Wilson after his drop turned into interception played 20 snaps. Then Jeremy Bernard only two and then
44:06afterwards looks like Aaron Rogers made the call that Jeremy Bernard then played 15 and Roman Wilson just five. Yeah, the passing chart for Aaron Rogers looks
44:14exactly like how you attack the Cincinnati Bengals. I mean it's exactly >> where Dalton Schultz caught 14 passes or whatever it was.
44:22over the middle of the field, linebackers, safeties, and I would expect every single offense to attack the Bengals. And we'll see if the
44:31Steelers can kind of carry this along.
44:33Uh Hayden, one final point. I don't know if you saw this from Joe Goodberry, who is excellent out there. Um we're going
44:38to talk offensive lineman here for a moment. Mason McCormack, who is the left guard for the Pittsburgh Steelers, was having an interesting and had an
44:44interesting technique. And I wish we could show it, but uh to let's say get Dexter Lawrence off his anchor. He basically was blocking at the waist and
44:54then attacking a single leg like it's amateur wrestling, lifting it up off the ground so he couldn't anchor and then moving him in that regard. And so
45:02basically forcing him off balance and he was doing it over and over and over again. And so good eyes for Joe for
45:08recognizing this. And I do wonder if this is something that maybe our buddy Ryan Paganetti might post out there and might get the league's attention a
45:15little bit more.
45:16>> That's a big leg to move around for for Dexter Lawrence. But I I understand making up moves there. I was say my
45:21offensive lineup for the Steelers. Ma Maxer uh a firstrounder for uh their right tackle.
45:28>> He is a freak athlete. They they gave him some pretty difficult assignments in the run game where he had to like really
45:33get over to uh like some like three techniques and he was excellent on those blocks. Like those are not easy blocks
45:39and I thought he handled himself very well and that was a boom bust prospect and uh he didn't throw a complete no no
45:45hitter but that was as promising of a right tackle uh debut as you could possibly imagine.
45:51Yeah, you you saw the two totally different performances against the Cincinnati Bengals defensive line with what the Steelers did compared to in
45:57week two what the Houston Texans did and it shows you the difference what that can do and if I mean this is a big if if
46:04Steelers pass catchers hit this year consistently like the offensive line has to be there. So this is I think a a
46:11pretty good outcome for us in that capacity so far through the first three weeks especially in Iatchers debut.
46:17Okay, let's talk about the New York Giants and Jameus Winston's re-entry as a starting quarterback on a full-time basis. Um, Matt, I'll send it to you
46:27first. Package Jameus Winston along with right now Malik Neighbors being the worst third round pick on the board. Is there any hope for our guy?
46:38>> No. Um, I don't think so. I think it's all right.
46:43>> I mean, neighbors will look better on tape than he does right now because I think it just doesn't I mean, I thought
46:50week three was not great for him uh a step back actually from where he maybe looked in week one. And this is how this
46:56comes this this is with guys when they're coming back from these serious injuries like they can go up and down.
47:02Um so not totally surprising there.
47:05Jamus looks brutal. And I mean, I think the weather played a role in week three, but he also didn't look great in week
47:11two. As I said to Hayden on the recap show, he looked like a guy who spent all summer being a content creator.
47:17>> But like, yeah, this is what it is.
47:18Like, they're it's the stuff downfield.
47:20He's not getting open. Winston is also not getting the ball to him, and it has to be all these quick designer passes.
47:28And by the way, this is going to be one of the most runheavy teams in the league. They have I didn't didn't they
47:31have 10 straight run plays in that game which I think culminated in a Cam Scataboo Wildcat formation that went abs I think it went I was going to say it
47:40went nowhere it went seven yards backwards. So uh not great uh for the New York Giants right now. I think I
47:45think this offense looks like it could just be over like it's over before it began for this offense. And I just to me
47:53ultimately Josh I just continue to be nervous that you know we'll get JJ McCarthy starting by week six and by week nine Malik Neighbors decides you
48:01know what I'm going to get shoulder surgery and get this thing fixed.
48:05>> There's no floor anymore Josh. You know that's the reality of it. It was a one yards down the field was his average
48:10depth of target there. And to Matt's point, the lowest neutral pass rate of the week at 29%. It really comes down to
48:18how much could we say that was just the rain because on tape that was maybe the worst arm strength I've seen from a
48:28quarterback the entire year. Uh, every single play that Jameus threw was short, it was flat, it had no zip. If you had
48:35to try to drive the ball over the middle, defenders were getting their hands on it. if he was trying to get the
48:39ball to the flat that was uh hitting the turf. He was if he was just trying to hit Isaiah likely on the most basic
48:45hitch route six yards in front of him, Isaiah likely just putting his hands out and like defending it himself. Uh so I'm
48:52not sure like you could read into it that they had to trade for JJ McCarthy because they watched the two games of
48:57Jameus Winston and were like his arm just might not be NFL caliber anymore.
49:02Um and I think that's my big concern here. And then once JJ McCarthy gets in there, like he's gonna have to learn a
49:08new offense and he's never been good in the NFL. Like like he's not going to save the situation either. So I'm
49:13extremely concerned for Neighbors and likely now.
49:16>> They just gave Winston a contract extension and then gave up a fifth round pick for a guy that they hope is their
49:22long-term backup behind Dart. Like yeah, I I think you're exactly right, Hayden.
49:26Like they watched the Jame they watched a guy who's been trying to be a meme for the last few years play like a meme and
49:31here like here we are. I I think this is pretty rough.
49:34>> And as Hayden knows, like there were even mentions of this from insiders ahead of the performance against the Tennessee Titans. So, I kind of wonder
49:42if the decision makers watch Jamus all through training camp and despite giving him an extra $2 and a half million dollars by the kindness of their heart
49:50as a glue guy, it's like, hey, the glue guy can't go in there and start for us the rest of the season because despite
49:55again losing Jackson Dart, despite losing Brian Burns, Harbaugh wants to in his first season not wave the white flag and instill this competitive nature, I
50:04guess, in the organization that he believes will trickle down into future seasons, which on some level is admirable. At the same time, Hayden, it
50:11is a fifth round pick. And right now, the Giants only have five remaining draft picks in the 2027 class, which was
50:18a draft class that no one wanted to trade any selections away in last year's and during last year's NFL draft. So,
50:25they have a first, second, third rounder, then two sixes, and that's it.
50:30That's it. So, >> JJ McCarthy is starting games this year.
50:33Yes, >> I think so. I'm looking at they have a week eight by week, the week seven's in Houston. I think that would be pretty
50:40rough to throw JJ McCarthy in there. So, I would say most likely scenario would be like week nine or beyond, unless it
50:46was just the rain, then that's what made Jameus Winston look so bad. But, I'm nervous.
50:52>> But Matt, I I will say I am more confident about whatever is left in the tank for Malik Neighbors this season
50:59with JJ McCarthy than I am with what Jamus Winston just put out there. Like, Jameus is a totally different quarterback than the one that people
51:06fell in love with previously. as, you know, this quote unquote gunslinger.
51:09Like, he has a different style now. He doesn't have the arm, as you guys said.
51:13Yes. To two concerned defenses down the field. And so, everyone is just going to sit on everything and play aggressive in
51:21front and drive. And that means he also has to be great in the quick game. And I don't think that Jameus and the quick
51:28game has ever been used in the same sentence positively. So, uh, I need JJ McCarthy to be the starting quarterback for this team. And I wasn't going to say
51:37that ever with the Minnesota Vikings this year.
51:40>> Do you want to revisit the quick game tape with McCarthy uh last year for >> the Minnesota Vikings? I mean, throwing
51:46it as hard as you possibly can because you're late seeing it.
51:50>> I mean, I say is like, yeah, I agree with you. It's not it's not happening with Jamus, but I don't think the
51:55McCarthy stuff is is going to get any better.
51:58>> I was just going to say this all roads lead back to Cam Scataboo. Like, they want him to touch the ball a million
52:03times. They're going to have to. I saw some tweets like Naji Harris looks good.
52:07I don't know what they were watching. I thought Naji Harris looked terrible. He was slipping and sliding. There was some wide open holes for him that I did not
52:14think that he can hit. I can't get over the size difference between his left leg and his right leg. Uh Cam Scott was not
52:20the cleanest game from him, but he's still catching the ball. He still had goal line carries and they just need his
52:25energy and just like they need someone to absorb a bunch of touches and I think that's what he's going to do.
52:30>> Okay, I asked this question from Pukaku.
52:32We'll close with this with the Giants as well. What would you trade away? What would you trade Malik Neighbors for?
52:40Let's put it that way. And look, we are well beyond the T. Higgins Z Flowers territory. So Matt, would you trade you
52:49trade Malik Neighbors straight up for Michael Wilson?
52:53>> Wow. Um I mean I have going >> I'm asking because he's wide receiver 23 at this point in points per game.
53:00>> Yeah. Yeah. No, I mean I was going to say I have going into this week I have neighbors. It's very early, but wide
53:05receiver 21 and I have Michael Wilson at wide receiver 19. And Michael Wilson, we're going to talk about it, is actually good. So, um
53:13I don't know if I could live with the screenshot, but I might but I might want to live with the [laughter] points.
53:19>> Aiden, would you click accept or do you have another name that you would throw out there that people should pursue with
53:22their Malik Neighbors?
53:24>> Like Matthew Golden. I would rather have Matthew Golden than Malik Neighbors. I think Michael Wilson's a great call uh as well. Well, it's it's nobody in that
53:31round four, five, six price tag. You're not getting DJ Moore, I don't think.
53:35Like, you're not getting Parker Washington. You got >> Lad. Do you think Could you Could you get lad? I've maybe been slow.
53:41>> Is that the Spider-Man meme? [laughter] >> Uh, yeah. I mean, there Harry McLaren after. Let's go straight into that. Okay, let's talk about the
53:52Washington Commanders here. They're up next. Um, Hayden, what is real now for the Commanders that we have Marcus Mariota starting for at least the next,
54:01it seems like two to three weeks? I mean, Jaden Daniels needs to have surgery, but he doesn't want to have surgery now. He wants to return. But
54:09from what I saw in this massive upset for the Commanders against the Seahawks was David Blau, the play caller, showing awesome stuff. I mean, there were quick
54:18snaps early to prevent like this pre and postnap movement that confuses so many other quarterbacks. And also with the Seahawks having new safeties back there,
54:28they lack the communication and the stability to recognize that. So, they got Terry McLaren open on the third and 10 for a gain of 11, he also utilized a
54:35sweet Rashad White motion that in week one from one side of the field to the opposite into a trips bunch. Uh that was
54:43then thrown to Rashad White in week one.
54:45This time they kept Jaylen Lane at the end as the number three and then utilized a tunnel screen out of that to
54:51gain 30 plus yards. So David Blau was another one of these play callers as a first timer in his bag and along with
54:58Marcus Mario Hayden uh hanging the pocket against pressure and firing some dots. I like that David Blau returns early. They're doing some funky stuff
55:07but it like makes sense with the players that they have on the roster as well.
55:11And then Mariota like he's just in command like that that was a experienced player making all the right checks at the line of scrimmage doing some like
55:18dangerous things that had uh like real nice returns uh running the ball in like third and nines. Uh but since 2024
55:24Mariota is the quarterback 15 in EPA per drop back. Quarterback 10 success rate quarterback four in completion percentage over expected and the
55:31quarterback one in average depth of throw. And it's those two last stats completion percentage over expected and average depth of throw where he's both
55:38top five there. That's how Terry McLuren can can survive here. Like Marcus Mariota wants to throw the ball down the football field and like some of these
55:47like comeback routes against zone coverage where like some other quarterbacks don't feel comfortable.
55:50Like he's going to give Terry McLuren a chance there. Obviously had the double move against Josh Job as well. But uh I
55:55thought there was some awesome like deep route uh deep out routes on Terry McLuren's tape. Uh and Terry or and Marcus Mariotta like wants to throw him
56:04the football there. So, he is not a conservative backup, but he's an aggressive backup. And I think that's how both uh Terry McLuren and Steph
56:11Diggs can be in our starting fantasy lineup mostly as a wide receiver threes.
56:15Uh but you can get nervous with Terry McLuren with other backup quarterbacks, but Mariota is like pushing the ball down the field. I think that he's going
56:21to hold the line.
56:24>> Mariota should have gotten to free agency and should have been the Vikings starting quarterback. He would really have been a good fit uh in this offense,
56:30but you know, neither here nor there.
56:32Yeah, Terry McLaren, big game. uh that I hand up did not see coming against the Seattle Seahawks. I love your points.
56:39>> Yeah, of course. I I love your points about um David Blau in week three, Josh.
56:44I had a lot of the same things written down here because I think I said this to Nate on 301 that week one not a good
56:50debut for the hey, I was a backup quarterback yesterday crowd uh at the offensive coordinator position. But I mean, while while Davis Webb kind of
56:58stayed the same, Shawn Mania maybe has gotten worse through three weeks, David Blau's definitely gotten better each and every single week. And I the the the
57:05being able to defeat some of that disguise coverage was really good. And I mean Terry McLaren like getting him in the slot for a deep corner route, a deep
57:12outbreaker. Really good to see there.
57:14His slot rate is 20. Yeah. 21.6% which I know doesn't sound like a lot. It's is easily his highest rate since 2021 uh
57:22for Terry McLuren. So a lot of vertical routes, but also they'll throw him just these quick slants which that started in
57:28Dallas uh in week two, continues into week three. And the other interesting thing about the receiver usage that I noted, you know, Trayon Burks caught the
57:37touchdown that you know that's fine. He actually outed uh Antonio Williams in this game did Trayon Burks, but it's all space clearing sacrificial stuff. He's
57:46targeted on 10.5% of his routes. Antonio Williams 40%. Um I really like Antonio Williams and I think his film's been good. He's somebody that maybe could pop
57:54for them eventually, but having him play less and having Burks play more is good for Terry McLuren and Stefon Digs.
58:02Yeah, we're still getting 30% Dami Brown, too. So, uh, you know, David, you're doing great in some areas, but some of this wide receiver rotation
58:09stuff we can improve on. Yeah, I mean, arguably that is the most difficult matchup that the Commanders have on their schedule for at least the next two
58:19weeks. I mean, it's the Colts and the Giants over the next two weeks. Then you have a tough stretch from the 49ers, the
58:23Eagles, and the Rams, at least on paper.
58:26But we end this thing with like, you know, the Cardinals, the Titans, and the Falcons in some of those games. I mean,
58:32it's an up and down schedule that has some nice pockets. And I think we can kind of pick our spots that are the best
58:37weeks for for the Washington Commanders.
58:40And we have no idea when Jane Daniels comes back, but Hayden, we've talked about Marcus Mariota on this channel for like the last three plus years. and uh
58:48among backup quarterbacks that can keep this thing going and even thrive in certain matchups. He is up there near the top of the list and the Commanders,
58:56yes, they're only projected for 22 points this week. I expect them to maybe go over that.
59:01>> I think he's the best backup quarterback in the league and Steph Diggs is getting a lot of the manufacturer touches as
59:06well. I think that he still looks really explosive in this one as well. So, I will have both commanders wide receivers
59:11inside my top 30. I think both of them are playable. Uh, and then I think the fact that Mariota is keeping this thing
59:17afloat, it's like good news for the running back rotation. There was some news Rashad White uh had a little shoulder injury that he was playing
59:22through. Uh, they signed Eckler, but to me it was Jakori Kroski Merritt. Uh, I didn't know that he had a 48 yard
59:28touchdown called back by an illegal formation that had nothing to do with the play. Like that was that was a pretty awesome moment for for Bill
59:36there. Showed a little bit more speed uh on that play than anyone else in the back field. So, uh, 12 and a half
59:42expected half PPR points. Did not do anything in the box score, but the Seahawks don't give up 48 yard touchdowns. Like, I think that's a
59:49promising start for for Bill, uh, here.
59:51And I think that he's like slowly climbing up my running back rankings.
59:54And that running back threeland has like taken a beating the last couple weeks.
59:58And I think that Bill is actually the guy that I would probably be saying he's like a flex by low to me at this point.
60:04>> Yeah. like after Chuba Hubard when we're talking about running backs that you drafted, Bill might have like the best chance of being fantasy relevant among
60:11all those those ball carriers. Yeah, it is a true you had to watch the game type thing with Bill because Rashad White got
60:18the touchdown on the receiving end and then Bills kind of got wiped away. So, the box scores might avert your eyes in
60:24in that department. Okay, let's close out the top 10 Matt with the Arizona Cardinals here. Uh, I'll save the Jeremiah Love conversation for Hayden
60:33and for you, Matt. I need to bring up Michael Wilson. Uh, simple question. Why is he getting points and yards and
60:40production in this offense and Marvin Harrison Jr. isn't? What is it about him that is different?
60:46>> I mean, the roles are definitely very, very different, but Michael Wilson is good. I mean, Michael Wilson is this I
60:54had these guys ranked in the same tier and ADP wasn't even close. And obviously, you know, my ranking on Marv looks bad. Anybody's ranking on Marv
61:01looks bad right now because Marv is just not it's just not going to happen with this vertical exceiver role that he's
61:06playing in. But for Wilson, they designed [snorts] a ton of stuff for him. First read looks, get the ball out quick, you know, uh, seven catches
61:14against zone coverage, uh, in week three. But it's and it's not just all Mickey Mouse nonsense where there was a lot of just like quick pepper him, but a
61:23few explosive plays on out cuts. And you know that's something that Marv I assume Marv Michael Michael Wilson has done consistently since he's gotten like he's
61:32always been a good player. He was just underprioritized and which was really frustrating in the last offense. But you know good to see for Michael Wilson.
61:40He's he's a legitimately a really really good player. I I he ended up being my most drafted receiver this year because
61:46on just so many platforms even our platform his ADP was so low. um wasn't feeling that great about it necessarily in the first two weeks, but hope he can
61:53continue to get this uh usage. And I think there's more meat on the bone for this entire offense. Like at some point,
61:59Mike Laflur is gonna watch this thing and just see like Jacobe Reset can keep the ship afloat, but is never going to
62:05access any of the downfield throws for any of these guys. I don't know if Carson Beck will either, but at some
62:11point they're going to want to see some of these downfield throws activated.
62:13Michael Wilson, Marvin Harrison, all these guys.
62:17>> Michael Wilson's awesome, man. Like I I don't even know what I would say he's not good at. The breaking routes were
62:23excellent like throughout the game.
62:24There was a fourth and one slant win that they needed him. They can do some screens. I think they threw three of
62:29them there. His touchdown was a little first read target play action. 13 personnel where uh that used to be Marvin. Now it's Michael Wilson near the
62:36goal line on that route. Uh and then he nearly mossed that touchdown like through the defender shoulder pads out there. And then there's another play
62:43totapper uh that was nearly a touchdown as well. We have a diving catch. Like that was one of the best games that you
62:51can see at wide receivers. Like all levels of the field and all of a sudden he's the wide receiver seven in usage.
62:56And if you look back like the last eight games with Marvin Harrison, he's got a 22% target share. He's the wide receiver
63:0324 on wide receiver 18 usage. That removes like those crazy games where Marvin Harrison wasn't active. Like this is like the games where both these guys
63:10have been healthy and Michael Wilson's been like a fantasy starter. Like >> I'm I kind of just want to take this for
63:16like what it's worth and like Michael Wilson is an every week starter and I'm going to park him like probably at the
63:22>> wide receiver two three border. But there was a flash that he was the wide receiver one overall. Like there's a
63:28chance that we're like still like really discounting what Michael Wilson is doing just because the first game against the Chargers and the second game against the
63:35Seahawks were kind of duds. But the rest of the games for Michael Wilson have been like wide receiver one caliber.
63:41>> Yeah. the market just had it wrong this summer. Um yeah, >> I mean he was drafted after Marvin Harrison Jr. in every single draft. Uh
63:47despite all of us seeing him play better than Marvin Harrison Jr. ever has over an eightgame sample. So uh that's just
63:55something that I want to keep in mind uh moving forward. Um Hayden, let's talk about Jeremiah Love.
64:00>> Sorry. Sorry. I was just go for it. is the this is the problem with the targets are earned thing is that yeah like
64:08>> the the system dictated that Marv would get those looks when he was in there over Michael Wilson because he was the X
64:13and like that's just the way the progressions go in Drew Petting's offense whereas this it's going to be a little bit more equitable and Marv is in
64:21a role where at some point he will have games and moments when the defensive looks dictate that for the big play
64:29sacrificial ex receiver but Michael Wilson's a dog, dude. Like I mean he everything he checks so many boxes as a receiver and he really always had I
64:38would say the only thing that maybe he's not good at is like truly pulling away at the third level against zone
64:44coverage, but you can get 17 targets and not do that and you can clear space and be Marvin Harrison and do that uh
64:51theoretically. So yeah, I think I think this is real with Michael Wilson. I I would be buying it going forward.
64:57And speaking of not pulling away, I do want to bring up that the Cardinals defense is the worst in the NFL at
65:03stopping explosive plays. They're giving up the most in the NFL per percentage of of snaps. Uh and then their offense is
65:11the worst at generating them. They are 32nd across the board in terms of passing and rushing. Uh rushing 5.3% of
65:21those snaps and then passing just 1.7%.
65:24Uh, so Hayden, that leads me into the conversation here about Jeremiah Love.
65:29We discussed it all summer long that Michael Thor had rookie Bree Hall only gave him 12, eight, and 14 touches in
65:36the opening three games before making him the featured player and then it was wheels up for about five games until Bree got injured. Uh, Mike Lafroy did
65:43the same thing here with Jeremiah Love.
65:4513 and 12 touches before 26. I mean, look at this. 26 touches in week three.
65:51And uh, it was tough sledding. I mean, some great defensive line and especially linebacker work and uh Jeremiah Love, I would say, absorb the content quite well
66:00and try to generate like the hidden yards on top of it, too.
66:04>> I think Jeremiah Love is going to be a top 10 fantasy running back the rest of the way. I think I would have rather
66:08have him than players like Ashton Genty and Saquon Barkley. And I think, you know, if you got him like late in the
66:13round three range, like if you have Kenneth Walker and Jeremiah Level as your third round pick, you're feeling pretty good about your odds right now.
66:20Just they're not going to go back to Tyler Algier. just like simply not good enough. And Jeremiah Love uh is very
66:25comfortable as a receiver. We saw a couple of those opportunities in this one. Um and then as a rusher, I didn't
66:32think it was the best game from him. He feels like a little bit kind of jumpy antsy to me right now, but his spin
66:37move, his acceleration, like the traits that you're looking for are so evident.
66:42And I think it's a pretty well coached team. And I think that Jeremiah Love is going to like get his feet wet. And I
66:47think he's going to look really, really, really strong the rest of the way. I I think that Tyler Algier is so far away
66:53from the picture at this point that we should just be assuming that Jeremiah Love will have top five, top 10 usage
66:58the rest of the way. And I do think that he's going to be one of the best clicks uh in fantasy.
67:06>> Thoughts? Matt?
67:08>> Love it. I'd love to see more of him.
67:10There's there's still a lot of meat left on the bone for this offense. Like I said, both in the run game and the pass
67:15game. Um I watch this team back on film every single week. I think they do a lot of fun things. Um, you know, again,
67:22there's good down and you can almost kind of tell when you talk to, you know, you hear Mike Lafleur talk that he wants
67:28to see a little more from the pass game, but the run game is one where Jeremiah Love passes the eye test uh in both
67:35phases. I think he's going to end up being a really really good uh value.
67:39There's there's one team that I ended up taking both Ashton Genty and Jeremiah Love in a draft, like take the the ankle
67:46discounts on these guys. Um, I'm feeling I actually don't know which one I'm feeling better about right now. Um, yeah, I think it could be Jeremiah 11 in
67:54a few weeks. We'll see.
67:56>> All right, Matt. Appreciate you. I'll see you on the forecast uh on Thursday for the uh week four preview.
68:02>> Always a good time. Appreciate you guys for having me.
68:05>> Appreciate it, Matt. All right, Hayden, me and you the rest of the way. And we go alphabetical order. That kicks things
68:11off with the Atlanta Falcons. It's a whole new world for the Atlanta Falcons with uh Michael Penn in there, at least
68:18for Drake London. Um, okay, we need to talk about Cal Pitts because we already saw the Drake London, Michael Penn effect happen immediately once the
68:29quarterback reentered the starting lineup. However, Cal Pittz, in my mind, Hayden is still never going to hit this year, especially if he's only down to
68:3859% of snaps like he was in week three, like he's not a full-time player like he previously was. Uh about half of round
68:46six was bad in terms of selecting players this season, but he is one of, if not the worst pick in that round so
68:53far.
68:54>> Yeah, he's been brutal. uh he averaged 42 yards with uh Drake London in uh 2025 and obviously went crazy with without
69:03him there. So there's still hope that he can kind of be, you know, a 30 40 yards per game type of player with Michael
69:08Penn. Uh but the fact that he duded last week is not promising and the the snap rate coming down is is not going to get
69:14there. And uh Michael Penn just has the eyes right for Drake London and like he absolutely should. Drake London is excellent. So um yeah, he's just going
69:22to be way too volatile. I think that Kyle Pitts are going to have like some moments here and there because like the
69:26rest of the the receiving depth is so bad, but there's too many other good tight ends. Like we we're going to talk
69:31about, you know, 20 names that I think are very real candidates and correct. I think that Kyle Pittz every single week
69:35just follows back a couple spots. So I think he's droppable and then if Drake London gets injured, then he will be one
69:42of the best waiver wire additions there is because like there's not going to be another receiver that steps up beyond him.
69:47Yeah, I think people who drafted Cal Pittz or Tucker Craft or a few of these other names get really freaking frustrated with me that I'm bringing up
69:54it's the year of the tight end and like the one guy that they drafted in the top 10 or 12 at the position uh just has not
70:01panned out at all. So, uh I feel you guys. Yeah, I mean these next two weeks it's the Saints and the Ravens defenses.
70:07Um, I'm not sure how I would feel about even considering starting Calpits in your tight end and hopefully you've picked up someone else off the
70:14waiverwire instead. Uh, anything else you want to say about the Falcons?
70:18Should we just move on?
70:19>> They their neutral pass rate increased.
70:21It was a season high 47%. It was like really low there with Cooper Rush and like when they were dropping back it was
70:26all the the Bejon nonsense and like those were fun games for Bejon. You want the Falcons to be watchable. Like that's
70:32how you get actual explosives and not just like a million checks. Like we don't want PPR scam Bjon. We want Bejian
70:36Robinson. So, I think that's going to be promising. And then the splits with Drake London and Michael Penn. Uh, I mean, it's it's insane like how good he
70:44is. He's he's like a top three fantasy wide receiver with Michael Penn. I think it's going to be a pretty tough bar to
70:50clear uh once again. But that sample size is now 13 games with that. So, uh I think that he's climbing up rankings. I
70:57think that if we were reddrafting today now knowing that we're going to have Michael Penn for the rest of the season,
71:01like I think that he would be probably a top 15 pick for me.
71:05Okay, let's talk the Baltimore Ravens up next. Uh, starting off with Zay Flowers.
71:11I mean, on 29 routes this season, 29 routes, Z Flowers has 10 catches for 234 yards and a touchdown. Um, man, he is
71:22just incredible. He is so incredible.
71:24Here's my thing, Hayden. Let's just assume that the hamstring is fine for the rest of the season. We're drafting
71:32Zay Flowers as a top 10, nine, eight wide receiver the rest of the way. And that's exactly despite not having necessarily the red zone appeal that I
71:43was hoping for, the end zone appeal previously. Uh he is just such the factor in this Baltimore Ravens passing attack that it hasn't felt right at all
71:52with him out of it. but as soon as he comes in is a number three option, runs these routes over the middle of the
71:57field and has perfect timing and then after the catch creates some extra yards, too. He is the focal point of everything other than Derrick Henry in
72:04this offense >> for like this upcoming week. It he's my wide receiver five on initial look at it and you know it's it's really looking
72:11like the JSN stuff where the the yards per route numbers are so insane. It's going to be a very balanced offense.
72:16Obviously, when you have Derrick Henry, but whenever they drop back, it's going to be explosive because the quarterback wants to push the ball down the field.
72:22Like the offensive co coordinator obviously knows the only guy that they can trust in the pass game is A Flowers.
72:28And I think it's helping him that like Mark Andrews, I think, is just not going to return. Like that level player is
72:32just like not coming back. So, they really have like no choice. Um, and that's why they pushed him uh in in week
72:38three despite not playing or practicing that much and the turf was all messed up. And then when they needed him most
72:43in man coverage, I can't I still can't believe the Cowboys played man coverage on that last snap. Uh and Z Flowers just
72:49cooked him. So the Ravens are going to be top five in projected points every single week and he's going to have like
72:53a 35% target share. Like it's it's impossible for him to not get home at this point.
72:59>> Yeah, I I I totally agree. Um, that's exactly the theory and what we say is what wins fantasy leagues of when you
73:06draft, you know, the wide receiver 17 and becomes, you know, the wide receiver seven or the wide receiver five, like jumping up 10 spots in that area,
73:13meaning you jump up three or four rounds, uh, is significant. Um, and I really feel like if we get Z Flowers as
73:21a full-time player and healthy, uh, we will get that. We will get that this year. I have nothing else to say about
73:26the Ravens. They are so straightforward with Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson. Uh so let's just move on to the Buffalo Bills who are also a very
73:32straightforward team. Uh it was nice to see DJ Moore in the lineup go six for 67 off of that nasty AC joint hit that he
73:40took and as you outlined despite having you know five turnovers they come back and win this game and it was kind of
73:47vintage James Cook in a lot of ways where the first two weeks uh it wasn't all on his shoulders uh as much as it
73:54has been in previous years but here it's again 24 carries 154 yards and one touchdown. So to some degree, Hayden, I
74:01like that the Bills through three weeks have kind of shown you that they can win in two ways offensively.
74:07>> There are still just so many chunk plays when they want to run the ball. It obviously hurts when Josh Allen's going
74:11to steal some goal line carries, but you just have to live with it. I think like the one thing we've learned through
74:15three weeks. James Cook is the RB 33 in receptions per game, 1.3. So like it's going to be the same exact role for
74:22James Cook. And guess what? Like that was enough to be what, the RB5 or close to it last year. Um yeah, he's RB7 in
74:28carries. he's going to get goal line work even with Josh Allen stealing it because guess what looking ahead they're number one in projected points this week
74:36uh once again. So like I don't I don't have that much sympathy if you're worried about James Cook at 10th overall. I think that's probably where
74:42he would be drafted if we were doing it again today.
74:45>> Yeah. I mean they are number one in projected points against the New England Patriots defense and we've seen the Patriots defense uh have teams projected
74:53for around 22 21 points so far this season. Okay, let's talk the Carolina Panthers next. And I actually want to begin this conversation with Tedro
75:04McMillan, who basically as an isolated receiver for three quarters since Jaylen Coker left, uh, only managed two catches for 14 yards. Um, I'd love to get your
75:14take on it, but first I I thought that this was multi-level. He struggled to unglue himself from Denzel Ward in isolated coverage and individual
75:23coverage whether that be man or when kind of zone turns into man uh which happens second and I think most importantly the Panthers offensive line
75:33got run over by the Browns defensive line like so any second phase play or elongated uh slow play concept down the
75:42field um it was basically not possible at all and that's where a lot of the Ted McMillan stuff has happened over the
75:48first couple of weeks and go going back to last year. And then third, I actually thought like some of his routes could
75:53maybe have a bit more urgency and maybe he just got a bit tired as the game went along.
75:58>> He could have a huge bounce back, I think, this week against the Lions and their secondary, but I I really am
76:03fearful that the offensive line might be a problem here to uh get back to the big downfield patterns that we got that were
76:09so successful in the first two weeks.
76:11>> I think it's like two different discussions. I think for the Panthers, I think, you know, losing Damen Lewis and their secondaries now beat up and, you
76:18know, the edge rushers just have not really like proven to be that effective so far. So, I think the Panthers have
76:24some issues because of uh injuries. But for T-Mac, with Jaylen Coker out of there, like he's going to get spammed the ball. The the Panthers are now
76:32they're top four in wide receiver usage and it's only going to go to him. That that number is going to come down a
76:38little bit. Um >> but it didn't last week and that's why I wanted to bring this up.
76:42There's just Denzel Ward's still very good and the injuries like when you don't know you're going to have injuries on the uh on the offensive line like in
76:50the middle of the game that's going to be a little bit harder to kind of change things like T-Mac is like there's a
76:55couple little flaws to his game. I think overtime he's going to be totally fine there. I think there's the volume's going to be too much to ignore. Like
77:01already he's the wide receiver 10 in expected points. Like it has not been like the cleanest season for him. He's gone under his projection in in all
77:07three games here. But the volume is going to be way too hard to ignore. like they just have nobody else to get the
77:12ball to and I watched Garrett Wilson in isolation against the Lions defensive back just route them up the entire game.
77:17Uh so we're going to talk about the Jets, but I think that Tedo McMillan can't do that against way way worse
77:22competition than Denzel Ward.
77:25>> Yes. And they run a ton of zone coverage, which the vast majority of the NFL does, and we've seen the Panthers
77:30dissect zone coverage so far this season, especially in the opening two weeks. Uh I will say Bryce Young leads the NFL in passing yards. He also leads
77:39the NFL in pressure rate and intended air yards per attempt. So, it's like this >> I would say difficult package that Yeah,
77:47it's it's it's full send at this moment.
77:49And hey, I'm this isn't, you know, me just giving the shorter guy a pat on the back here, but I I do feel like that
77:56game against the Browns in the first three years of his career might have ended up one of the games that he throws
78:01for like 145 yards and he ended up throwing for 291 yards and like standing in the face of the pressure and figuring
78:09out what was there and elongating certain snaps that that he could had.
78:12So, I actually thought there was real growth in a performance like that where his offensive line just got >> demolished.
78:19Yeah, he's just seeing the field better.
78:20He's he's just making better plays. Uh and I I've always thought he's a very accurate quarterback and when he's like making decisive plays down the sideline,
78:28like that's the best of it. And I think that's where Tyrone McMillan's going to be very good this year. And I I do think
78:32that the the state of the Panthers defense with like the most recent injuries. They're going to have to pass the ball because I'm just not sure if
78:39they're going to get many stops on defense just given where where they're at right now.
78:43>> Yep. uh they have a week five buy. So I wouldn't be surprised if like Jaylen Coker sits out in week four with the
78:49hopes of him returning in in week five.
78:52And then his replacement on the outside, it was Bryson Tmaine who is mostly a special teamer but kind of always pops
78:58up and plays wide receiver because he's big and athletic. Uh and he led the team with six targets, four receptions, and
79:0583 yards. Wouldn't be totally surprised if it kind of goes to David Moore uh after, you know, a week of practice and
79:11all that type of stuff. but they are extremely thin. Uh, and this is what we talked about like the passing attack
79:17really got going last year when it was T-Mac and Coker. It really got going in the first two weeks when it was Team Mac
79:22and Coker. And then if you don't have one of those elite talents where the other one's kind of getting locked up or
79:27maybe getting some safety over the top help, the other guy can win for you in isolation. If you don't have that, then
79:33they kind of, I think, become a bit more solvable. Okay.
79:37>> Uh, let's talk Cincinnati Bengals.
79:40They're up next. Um, this team is very straightforward. Every single week we know about who the priority players are.
79:47I will say, and Good Barry posted about this, too, that they have just 83 yards off play action this season. They're
79:55near the bottom of the league in terms of rate of play action. Just 16 passing plays so far this season, Hayden, from
80:02under center compared to 43 runs. 31st in percentage of pass plays under center. So, this entire narrative that lasted all training camp, uh, they're
80:12about 27th or 28th in terms of that rate of usage, and they're kind of back to what Joe Burrow does best.
80:19>> They are changing up the offense though.
80:21They're a lot more two tight end sets.
80:23They are going under center more often.
80:25Yeah. And, uh, a couple weeks ago uh, on the Nate Ty recap show, Football 301 on Sunday nights, uh, >> I had the stat, I forget the exact
80:35numbers, but almost every single time they were in the gun, they passed it.
80:37almost every single time under center they ran it. This last week they actually did mix it up uh a couple times
80:43and Joe Burrow took a couple shots down the field. U it's you know it's a change up that that's all it is. Uh and I'm
80:49totally okay with it. I would say with with Chase Brown I think he's maybe the most uh interesting because he hasn't
80:54really got home yet. He's still the RB11 in expected points. He's the RB10 in receptions per game. RB13 in carries per
81:01game. So Majin's not going to mix in there. So it's been a brutal start. He's the RB20 on a per game basis so far.
81:07like this is like the most obvious by low. Like you get the passfunnel Bucks, then you get the Texans, and then you
81:11get the Steelers. And I think the Bengals offensive line against uh some pretty uh formidable defensive fronts there has like passed the test. Like
81:19Amarius Mims like he's on his way to becoming like a superstar right tackle.
81:23Um so I think like these little things I think Chase Brown's like a really quality by low. That said, Jacksonville is going to be another tough opponent uh
81:30this week, but I think that you know >> they're going to be totally fine. I think that the Bengals defense is not I
81:36don't think it's very good still. Like they're better than they were, but like for anyone thinking like the Bengals are not going to have like be in shootouts
81:42this season, I think like they've lost the plot. I think they're going to be in plenty of them.
81:46>> Yeah. Yeah, with the Malik Neighbor stuff that we talked about earlier. I know this talking about like a wide receiver for a running back, but I would
81:52almost try to go like two for one with neighbors and someone else and try to go get Chase Brown and fill in like that as
81:57your flex or your running back too and uh build and and uh improve off of that if if I had Neighbors. Um yeah, I mean
82:05the Bengals shockingly lead the NFL in rate of 12 personnel. Uh that's at 39%.
82:09They kind of use three names um in sample in Eric all and then Micah Siki is out there for about 50ish% of snaps.
82:19Uh I know that's not very much and I don't want to overhype someone who is 50-ish% of snaps, but when he's out
82:25there, he is their slot wide receiver.
82:27He is their wide receiver three basically and he's been the tight end four in week one and the Titan 11 in
82:33week three and he's still flying under the radar and they're like still recycling these, you know, wide receivers on the end. So they I'm not
82:40saying they're incorporating him more, but hey, you also have like I think the hidden upside with Mike Giki has always been if Jamar Chase or T. Higgins misses
82:48time, he then becomes like a de facto wide receiver too for the team. So um >> Gassiki is someone that no one's going
82:54to add on your roster at all. And if you're in one of the deepest leagues imaginable, uh Gassiki is somewhat on my
83:00radar here.
83:02>> I totally agree. He's he's the featured player when they need to go into like traditional like 11 personnel stuff where like he'll be like the de facto
83:09slot. Those other two those other two tight ends, they're quality blockers and I've noticed that on the Chase Brown runs like there are some times where
83:16Eric All and Drew Sample are like moving players and like that's like another reason like why the Bengals offense is like a little bit more stable uh now
83:25than it was previously.
83:27Okay, let's talk Cleveland Browns next.
83:29And we're going to go back to your fantasy points over replacement model and image here because Quinn Sean Judkins in the fifth round has been one
83:38of the worst selections in fantasy football. Obviously, they opened with the Jaguars and the Buccaneers, arguably the two defenses other than the
83:47Minnesota Vikings to run on. Um, but then here against the Panthers, there were some moments, but just overall in a game that they won, albeit tight, 18
83:57carries for 70 yards, 3.9 per clip. So, Hayden, is there any light for Quinnan Judkins for the rest of the season?
84:05>> Just individually, I would say he's a step slower than he was last year where I thought there was like some like nice
84:11like turbo moments from him and he's a difficult tackle for how big he is. Um, I still think that the vision is fine
84:17and the the offensive line is going to be one that's never going to be good, but you hope that it kind of gels
84:21together as the season progresses. Like it's a lot of, you know, like you have a rookie left tackle, you have a bunch of
84:26new players that have never played together. You obviously have a new coach as well. There's a lot of moving parts.
84:32Like I'm not that surprised like the first part of the year has been as bad as it has been for for Quinn Judkins. I
84:38I can't say I'm optimistic, but like could he be a flex like for the next couple weeks? I still think that he
84:44could be a flex, but I think, you know, you know, you're trying to find like the RB2 in the fifth round. Like I think
84:49that's going to be a large swing in a miss here. Even with Dylan Samson being out there, he's catching a couple more
84:54passes this year than last year, which has helped him out, but it's not going to be like a schemed up thing for
84:59Quinchon because the rest of the skill group is just like they're too good.
85:03>> Yeah, Raheem Sanders gets in there to as like the pure receiver work on on top of it, too. It's just now I think at best
85:10he gives you 70 to 80 yards if they're in games that they're going to win. Uh and then you have to get a goal line
85:17touchdown for it to like really pay off to get into top 12 running back-ish status. And if not, you're going to
85:23hover around like 8 to nine points on on a weekly basis. So again, a lot of the running backs in that area where he was
85:30selected cuz it was after, you know, a tier below the uh DeAndre Swifts of the world. uh we're all just like kind of
85:37throwing darts here.
85:38>> The hope is this completely new offensive line gels as the season goes along. At the same time, I think Todd
85:46Monkin is an awesome coach and he's doing a fantastic job having this team at at two and one. And you know, they
85:51get the Steelers and the Jets over the next two games. Like those are winnable games for just about anyone, especially in a short week here against the
85:59Pittsburgh Steelers. I do want to bring up Casey Conpsion.
86:02>> He had nine targets in this game. I mean, some of the most vomit inducing, vile throws that you will ever ever see.
86:11Um, offtarget behind him, horrible timing, late on it. Like, I understand Deshun Watson had a decent fourth quarter against the Panthers, but right
86:21now the Browns are winning on the margins and they're not winning necessarily because their quarterback's playing good football for the entire
86:27four quarters. And unfortunately like Casey Conpsion is the negative beneficiary of uh these offtarget passes.
86:38Totally agree. They're they're winning some tight ball games. The like Mason Grahams have like kept these games uh uh close. It has not been a Deshawn Watson
86:47movement. I will say the the thing that Watson has improved on this year versus the previous Browns years is he's definitely more athletic to me. Like I
86:55noticed that in week one when like he looked like terrible in week one. He's looked a little bit better the last
86:59couple weeks. He's picking up some like key first downs and like those used to be punts and like that's how like you're
87:04getting at least a couple more plays per game because of this and then some of these obviously prairie yards eventually will get um get home. Uh and but
87:13you know Harold Fannon pops in here but Denzel Boston gets some looks. Casey Conpsion's going to get some looks. with all three of those guys factoring in
87:21like pretty evenly, it's like hard to like trust any of them in fantasy lineups. I think like you know next week
87:26we like Casey Conpsion for 80 yards and a touchdown. How awesome was that? But then the next week it'll be Fan and then
87:31the next week it'll be Boston. So like I don't know what we're supposed to do with either of these. These were better
87:35in baseball picks. Um and you know I just don't see that really changing this year.
87:41>> Yeah, we talked about Casey Conception being the easy button for this team and so that would give us maybe some floor
87:47in a weekly basis. Uh it's not an easy button when the pass is behind the line of scrimmage or the pass three yards
87:54down the field is just totally off frame and uncatchable. So it's not easy when like Deshun Watson's throwing that football. Dallas Cowboys are next. Um
88:04the worst pick in the second round, Hayden, according to your fantasy points over expected model and you know factoring in ones who
88:12aren't playing right now and AJ Brown and Devon Achan, it's actually George Pickkins. So what should those people do with George Pickkins that they drafted
88:23him?
88:24>> Nothing at all. Just wait for the good games. They are coming. He is the wide receiver 12 and expected points. He is a
88:30very good football player. Dak Prescott is very good and he's been, you know, right on this border. Uh wide receiver one, wide receiver two last year with CD
88:37Lamb. Like good days are coming for for George Pickkins. He's like drawing some defensive pass interferences down the field. Like those easily could have been
88:44touchdowns at times. Uh he hasn't had like the best season compared to last year as well. Um you know he's got
88:51another difficult match up against the Texans, but you know this is not a like sell low. Um I would think he's actually
88:57more of a buy low than a sell low.
89:00>> Would you trade Malik Neighbors straight up for George Pickkins rest season?
89:04>> I would trade Neighbors and many other players for George Pickkins. [laughter] >> Yeah. I mean, I'm only saying that because George Pickins is wide receiver
89:1336 right now, and that's a facicious question because I I've asked it about four times so far. Uh, yeah. I mean,
89:20again, I I I'll say this. He he was the 23rd pick in drafts and like T. Higgins was the 31st pick in drafts and it's a
89:26long season. You know, we have 14 more weeks in in the fantasy football year.
89:31And so he could easily still perform as that 23rd overall selection, but it it it also might get to the point where we
89:38should have just drafted him next to T, who was going like eightish picks later, but we'll see.
89:45>> Maybe. I don't know. I think George Pickkins is a total monster and he just has a little bit more yak ability and uh
89:52Dak Prescott looks amazing. Uh so I think they're going to figure this one out.
89:57>> Okay, I have nothing else to add about the Cowboys. Should we move on?
90:01>> Straightforward. Yep.
90:03>> Straightforward. Okay. Detroit Lions.
90:06Again, I'm trying to help you people out here because some of you unfortunately drafted Jameson Williams. He has been one of, if not the worst pick in the
90:18sixth round. Is there any hope they do face the Carolina Panthers and these corners in week four?
90:26I I I kind of find the Jambo conversation a little bit annoying. Um it's not worked yet and there will be
90:33games where I mean I'm just like looking at like last year, week 12 does absolutely nothing and then week 13 he's
90:39uh he scores 23 fantasy points and then the next week it's uh 14 and then the week after that it's 24 and then he does
90:46nothing for three straight weeks. It's like you know did you guys not understand what you signed up for? I will say this, I I think that the
90:52Leaporta, Aman Rodra, J Mo, uh, and Jir Gibbs aspect when all all those players are healthy, JMO is going to run a
91:00little bit more clear out routes. Like some of those connections down the field are a little bit harder to get to
91:05obviously, but I think Goff is playing well. I think the Lions defense is total trash in the secondary right now and
91:11they're going to be in shootouts and you know we're going to talk about his 75 yard touchdown at any moment especially
91:16when he's facing against uh you know the JC Hornless Panthers. So yeah, his target share is down. He's his ADOT is
91:23higher and we're not getting the layups and there's no weekly floor. Uh and then next week he'd be the wide receiver one.
91:28I don't know.
91:29>> Yep. Jared points out that his yard of the catch this year is just at point4.
91:34Uh that is because we're not getting the drags away and against the grain of the defense like what we got previously when
91:41Sam Laora missed this time, you know, for example. And underneath the >> I think I'm watching them >> like they're h they're happening. It's
91:48just like they haven't connected on them yet. I think they're I think they're in the playbook still.
91:51>> Yes.
91:52>> Um and well, that's what I mean. Like we we he hasn't caught them yet. They they haven't generated fantasy points for us
91:58yet. Um and you know, he had drops in the first two weeks of the season.
92:03Basically, my conclusion is every year a group might go into the season saying that Jameson Williams is finally a complete player. He has a floor on a
92:13weekly basis. And what we have learned so far is that he does not. And he still is this high variance roller coaster
92:20that he has been at every single point in his career so far. And it's just the same thing here despite a new play
92:25caller as a part of it. And I think it's exactly what you said. It is tough to have four players on an offense have a
92:32floor in fantasy football and that is rare if ever and so to me how it always was heading into the season Gibbs on Raw
92:40and Sam Laora and then Jameson Williams is forcement list and that's exactly what the production leads us to too.
92:46>> Yep, completely agree.
92:49>> Okay, I will say watch out for the double moves this week against Will Lee, this backup corner for the Panthers. He
92:54has bitten every single time in every single game on these double moves. We're gonna get one for a touchdown on the
92:58outside. I guarantee you it's gonna be a long one to Jameson Williams this week.
93:01Green Bay Packers are up next. It is a brutal cycle for Green Bay right now.
93:09First, it starts off with no run game.
93:12That brings us to second and third and long situations.
93:16That means this patchwork Packers offensive line, which they're bringing in two or three new players to try to fix on the fly in season. That's never a
93:24good thing. uh then gets pressure looks on top of it in those spots that are difficult to handle either games or
93:31twists or stunts up front and then Jordan Love is under duress in those moments. And then I'll say that there's times when everyone else does their job
93:40and Jordan Love is kind of missing some layup throws on top of it too. So again, >> among some disappointing offenses that
93:46we have seen in previous years, the number one thing attached to them is offensive line play and that's why they don't achieve it. And I think we're
93:54already seeing that for the Packers and Hayden, if we're already seeing it in week three and week four, typically that kind of sustains itself for the entire
94:01season.
94:03Completely agree. There's there's some reps where Jordan Love like is feeling pressure that's not there. And I I totally understand why. It's because the
94:10last five plays there there was pressure and he just can't trust it. Um, so the good news is the run game is so bad that
94:18they have no choice but to throw the ball all the time and they're only throwing it to two players right now.
94:24Like Tucker Craft is like maybe the most interesting one. Um, and that he's not getting the crazy yards after catch moments this year. He's still the tight
94:32end 12 and expected points. He's a full-time player and they they ramped him up like immediately after week one out of necessity once Jaden Reed went
94:40down. I think that Tucker Craft eventually will get home. I thought in the first week that he had a couple of
94:44explosives where I thought he like looked fine. Uh but he keeps dropping passes. He's been a total mess in the blocking department as well. Like his
94:51head has been out of it a lot more than his like physical traits. Uh which has been a big surprise to me there. Um but
94:58in the meantime, like you know, Christian Watson's a wide receiver four on wide receiver five usage and Matthew Golden is the wide receiver 14 on wide
95:05receiver six overall usage. like those are two awesome picks and I Matthew Golden could be frustrating at times and then he makes plays over his shoulder uh
95:14running way down the field at a really high clip and um I think he's going to have huge huge games. So I'm not sure if
95:21you've seen what I've been watching on the Tucker Craft film where it's like he's just been like so like uncharacteristically sloppy and that's
95:27that's hurt him in both phases >> 100%. and that can flip, you know, a switch week to week immediately and and
95:35hopefully that that just gets figured out. I'll say right now this Packers team, at least in the Falcons game on Thursday Night Football, you know, their
95:4310 play 76 yard touchdown drive was when they were down 27 to seven and true garbage time. But Jordan Love is a good
95:49enough quarterback and the wide receivers are good enough that I buy into the garbage time narrative for a team like this if they have to get into
95:58it because of their defense, because of a lack of running game where I wouldn't do that for bad teams out there. So, I
96:05am continuing and obviously at this point you all drafted Christian Watson and Matthew Golden because we told you to all summer long, but no matter if
96:12they are underdogs the rest of the way, I am starting those guys in every single matchup.
96:17And no questions about the Packers running backs, please. Like, we have to do better than starting these guys to have to.
96:24>> Yes. I mean, Marshon Lloyd was basically removed. Caleb Johnson saw more snaps than he did. At the same time, if you
96:32are trailing in a negative game script, that's when Chris Brooks pops in. So, it doesn't matter. Yeah.
96:37>> None of it matters. Yeah.
96:39>> Because they can't block either.
96:41>> Uh, they are the third fastest paced team in the NFL right now, which is very different than where they've been the
96:45last couple of years, too. So, this is notable. It's on our radar, that's for sure. Houston Texans, CJ Stout to his backup backup wide
96:54receivers has been bad. Now, there is some optimism that Nico Collins might return here in week four. Uh, but Reeves pointed this out that CJ Stout throwing
97:03to his wide receivers over the past two weeks when Nico has been out. He's 17 of 41, a 41.5% completion rate, six yards
97:12per attempt, and a 24.4% 4% inaccur rate, which is 29th. I will say in this game when I went back and watched, uh,
97:20there were some like threaded passes over the middle that his wide receivers early in that game should just come down with. And then again, we get in the
97:26cycle of when they don't make those catches early on, then maybe he has to press and throw some wavered passes later on. So, uh, again, it's all
97:34connected here.
97:36>> Totally connected. The offensive line's been a complete joke. Uh, interior pressure with a backup guard as well right now. Uh yeah, this team is so
97:45reliant on Nico Collins, like nothing else matters. Um I think for the running back rotation, it's like extremely straightforward. It is every other
97:52drive. It's as simple as that. Like Woody Marks gets a drive, David Montgomery gets a drive. So we are splitting up the running back usage into
97:59two pretty much like directly into two and that's how Woody Marks gets goal line opportunities that David Montgomery is not going to get. I don't think that
98:06either of the backs look that good to me. I would I would guess I would lean towards Woody Marks um if I had to pick
98:11who's kind of popped on film a little bit more. U but the state of the the backup wide receivers is so bad that
98:18it's like it's a non-negotiable. Um so if Nico Collins is not out there like this team is not they're not going to
98:24put up points. I don't care who the defense they're playing is.
98:27>> Yeah, I I agree on the wide receiver comment. Um, speaking of comments, I got one uh I think it was either I think it
98:34might have been the waiver show with Joel uh after I said that Dave Montgomery fell into the end zone three times that I need to be uh choose my
98:43words more wisely. Um I I think Dave Montgomery fell into the end zone three times in in week one. He had a nice, you
98:51know, eight yard run or whatever it was and had some catches and all that type of stuff. Ever since then, it's been
98:55exactly what my fear has been. You know, even including week one, three yards, 1.7, three yards per carry. On 37 attempts so far this year, Dave
99:04Montgomery has four carries that have gone over five yards. On 23 attempts, Woody Marks has six carries over five yards. Deont has the lowest percentage
99:12of his carries to go for five plus yards in the NFL at 18.9%.
99:19Um, I straight up trade David Montgomery for Bachel Tutin right now if someone would do it in my league easily.
99:24>> Oh yeah, for sure. I'm not sure if you'd be able to get that. Uh my my fancy boy Texan stat is they're number one in wide
99:30receiver contested targets and it's by eight. It's 24 to 16 is the is the difference there. And it is to me the
99:38slowest skill group between wide receiver, running back, tight end, and quarterback by a landslide in the NFL right now. U and you feel that.
99:49Look, don't get me wrong, like there are going to be weeks where Dave Montgomery pays off and falls into the end zone a
99:56couple times, and this one might be one, Hayden. It's against the Dallas Cowboys.
99:59They're actually projected for 25 points in this game, which is extremely notable to me, but this offensive line has not shown anything to me that it is taking
100:10its next step. Uh they've scored what 19 or 17 points, six points in the last two weeks. Uh but you do have the Cowboys
100:18and the Titans over the next two weeks.
100:20So again, this can be your moments other than Nico Collins that some of your Texans might pay off.
100:26>> Yeah. He's RB 21 in usage. Like I'm not saying like this is a five alarm fire here. It's just that you know like I
100:32don't see that I don't see an upside path for him.
100:35>> Yeah. Yep. Okay. Indianapolis Colts.
100:38Let's talk about them and their running game. Actually, uh, our buddy Ryan Heath noted that the Colts run game with Alec
100:45Pierce on and off the field, uh, has some stark splits. So, on the field, 4.75 yards per carry, 2.5 yards before
100:55contact per attempt, and then number one in EPA per rush. Off the field, it's bad. 30th in yards per carry, 1.38
101:05yards before contact, which is also 30th, but still fifth in EPA per rush.
101:09So again, we're kind of dealing with somewhat small samples here, but uh that is a big difference in John Taylor's week three than it was week one and week
101:19two.
101:20>> Might be the Texans defense. Um I I will say their right tackle was completely destroyed by Will Anderson and predictably so, but it was it was one of
101:30the worst right tackle performances I I've ever seen. Um, so yeah, that's not going to help the Jonathan Taylor aspect of it, but uh easier matchup uh this
101:38week as well. And he's still just getting crazy usage uh RB6 uh and usage here. Catching a couple more passes this
101:45year than he has uh previously. And then in the past game, it was good to see Tyler Warren couple like cover two hole
101:51shots. Uh nothing like crazy down the field, but it wasn't only manufactured touches. And I did like that Daniel Jones got outside of the pocket that one
102:00time and hit the truck stick out there.
102:01it gave me like a little bit more uh optimism that like maybe he can offer a little bit more athletically as like the
102:07season progresses. So, it was kind of like exactly what I was expecting like Josh Downs like Pop Gun, you know, slot
102:12stuff. Keenan Allen, a trusted player, a little bit more Tyler Warren without Alec Pierce and then I think Jonathan Taylor and easier matchup's going to get
102:19help. So, I I didn't really learn that much with the Colts.
102:22>> No, no, not at all. Um, I will say this is my first year playing in a death league over on Yahoo and it has my brain
102:30in a pretzel. I previously already picked up Chris Olive instead of Pukanua. The person that got eliminated in week three had Jonathan Taylor, Puka,
102:39Trey McBride, Parker Washington, Malik Neighbors, and George KD on their team.
102:44And so it's make me wonder, I mean, you're in the league too, how much to invest and all that type of stuff.
102:50uh to show my hand here. I will see you in the Jonathan Taylor bidding because I am desperate for [laughter] a running
102:55back.
102:56I need one now.
102:59>> Yeah. Okay. I I kind of have to decide if like I want to overspend than you on Jonathan Taylor or and put him in my
103:06flex or keep like Ibuka in there for example. So my running backs are in much better spot than yours.
103:12>> You don't want Jonathan [laughter] Taylor. No, >> I'm I'm having a blast with this death league. Like I haven't cared more about
103:17waiverss >> ever before. So I want to do we should do multiple death leagues with uh viewers next year. We should definitely
103:26do that.
103:26>> On Yahoo, of course.
103:29>> Yes, on Yahoo. Of course. Jacksonville Jaguars. Let's talk about them. I mean Parker Washington stud Basel Tutin even in a game where he like didn't break a
103:39bunch of tackles it is so clear that they are trusting him in the backfield now grinding out three yard gains 5 yard
103:46gains 8 n yard gains and he still hasn't hit that like 30 plus yard explosive and it it might get there at some point but
103:54uh the big one and I I said it in the waiver show Brian Thomas Jr. is just completely droppable. He has transformed
104:00into just a role player on this team now playing only 35% 54% and 37% of snaps over the last three weeks.
104:09>> Yeah, I mean Jacobe Myers the wide receiver 66 in usage. He had a nice touchdown grab here and then Brian
104:14Thomas is wide receiver 79. So like this offense has really turned into you know it's all Parker Washington. Then you get, you know, a mixture of a little bit
104:23of Brennan Strange, a little bit of the wide receiver four, a little bit of uh Chris Rodriguez who had a goal line
104:30opportunity, but it's it's really just there's there's three fantasy starters.
104:33It's Trevor Lawrence, it's Basel Tutin, and it's Parker Washington. I think everyone else is all noise. This offense is so awesome and so well coached um
104:42that the rest of those guys are going to have big moments and you are not going to be able to predict them. Uh on Tuton,
104:48he is the wider or the running back 13 on running back 26 usage. So he's been one of the most efficient players
104:54according to my model. He's breaking a lot of tackles. He's not making nearly as many mistakes as he did the year
105:00prior, he looks like a totally fine pick. And uh even if Chris Rodriguez steals a couple goal line touchdowns, that's going to be totally fine here.
105:09>> Yeah, totally fine. If if we look at where Bashel Tutin was selected, the 11th pick of the fifth round, um
105:16obviously like Devonte Adams dominates that fifth round area right now, but a lot of other names we talked about QJ before and Quinchan Judkins. Uh Jaden
105:25Daniels was selected in that area.
105:27Jaylen Herz has not really panned out as a fantasy quarterback. Tucker Craft at the end. So uh yeah, I mean Bachel Tutin
105:35was awesome in comparison to a bunch of the wide receivers going in that area too among running backs as well. So,
105:40it's uh it's cool to see. It's cool to see with Pat. They're running back 13 right now in fantasy points. Next up is
105:47the Kansas City Chiefs where top three running back Kenwalker III resides. Uh I mean, it's a straightforward team as well, is it not? It's Kenwalker the
105:58third and it's Travis Kelce and then a whole bunch of hubhub with Patrick Mahomes looking back to his former self and looking unbelievable this year.
106:07>> Yeah, Mahomes is gonna be in the MVP race here. Um, I guess the player I'm, you know, trying to get the best read on
106:13is Rashi [clears throat] Rice. Uh, first two weeks pretty pretty mediocre. He obviously had like a little free play to kind of, you know, get him into the box
106:21score in in week two, but the first two weeks it was not encouraging usage. This week it was, I say, more signs of life
106:28here. Um, I thought that he got uh open a couple times, over the middle, a couple designed looks here. Uh, he's
106:34always going to be like somewhat u mixing in in the red area, though. uh we're seeing a lot more Kenneth Walker,
106:40like rightfully so. Um so I I think as Kenneth Walker's touches kind of come back to earth a little bit, I think
106:46that's how Rashi Rice kind of gets, you know, propelled back into like the wide receiver 2 conversation. Um we didn't know if the Chiefs were going to be an
106:54elite offense going into the year. And now I feel pretty comfortable that they will be like a fringe top five one. And
107:00I think that's going to keep Rashidi Rice kind of like he's not going to be a home run pick, but I think he's going to
107:06be a top 24 wide receiver. uh this season and I think last week was probably more of what we should expect.
107:12The big caveat being >> the Dolphins haven't covered anybody the entire year and there were some wide openen plays for Rashi Rice, but I
107:18thought the usage was like more what I'm kind of expecting for him.
107:22>> Yeah. And look, we we talked about this Chief's passing attack transforming and on some like kind of concepts and under
107:29center stuff and play action off of it, it it has to some degree, but in terms of the routes that are still winning and
107:35the players that are still winning, it has not transformed, right? It is Travis Kelce and Rushy Rice and every once in a
107:41while you have a gimmick play to Xavier Worthy and then a deep shot to Taekquin Thornton. Um Stephen Patton posted this
107:47chart on on Twitter where Patrick Mahomes uh is top four in passing yards, top five in passing yards across the league, but just 36% of those are air
107:57yards. Uh compared to like, you know, Bryce Young's at 60%, Tyler Shuck's at 53%, uh Matthew Savver's at 58%, Jordan Loves at 54%, and those are the like
108:07four guys ahead of him. So again, it goes back to this team is still kind of built on yards at the catch moments,
108:13which by the way, half of that has come from Travis Kelce so far this year, which is incredible stuff.
108:19>> Yeah, number one yards after the catch through three weeks is still Travis Kelce.
108:23>> Amazing. Let's talk to the Las Vegas Raiders, and there's only one name to lead with this. How did Clint Kubak
108:32utilize Brock Bowers, and is it the stuff of dreams?
108:36I mean, it's pretty close to the JSN role. Like, that's not even that much of an exaggeration. It's it's as close of a
108:44real wide receiver as a tight ended name since, you know, like Jimmy Graham or like I mean, this is like a version of
108:52Travis Kelce and I don't think this is going to slow down. He had 21.5 expected half PBR points. That was his third best
108:58usage in a game throughout his career.
109:00The second most by a tight end this season. and Clint Kubak is just going to dial things up down the football field
109:06over the middle and they're going to have corners on Brock Bowers.
109:10And I just think Brock Bowers is just going to win those matchups. Like the agent right now has to be contacting the Raiders and saying
109:18we're changing the label here. You are not going to pay him like the best tight end. You are going to pay him like an
109:23elite wide receiver because that's what he is. So my takeaway from this game is one glad that he's healthy. It's always
109:28going to be in the back of my mind just the way he plays and the injury history and the knees. But I think if we were
109:33drafting right now, I think I would take him in the first round of fantasy football.
109:38>> Yep. I cannot wait to see how Steve Spagnolo decides to try to cover Brock Bowers here in week four against the
109:45Chiefs because he'll have something planned up and we'll see if it works. Uh is it Kool-Aid McKinstry? Was that the corner number one on on the Saints? Um,
109:53Brock Bowers lined up, isolated him a number of times, uh, on the boundary as a wide receiver and got the better of
110:00him, like doing legit >> wide receiver stuff, speed outs, vertical patterns, kind of flood concepts, and he's the middle one. He
110:08was doing it all. And, you know, the Raiders immediately led the league in 12 personnel in week three. This is why the
110:15Raiders gave Michael Mayer a new contract in, you know, training camp.
110:20And on top of it, they also did a lot of 22 personnel stuff from what I saw with like Connor Hayward lined up there as a
110:25pseudo fullback, tight end. And that even force feeds Brock Bowers the football even more. This is why we talked about heavier personnel sets all
110:32summer long. And so Hayden, while it was extremely frustrating for the people that drafted him in round one uh and excuse me, round two in weeks one and
110:42two, uh that is so clear to me that if he stays healthy, this is going to be exactly the upside pick that could, you
110:50know, change the tight end landscape and give you like a three or four point advant advantage despite this being the year of the tight end over every other
110:58name not named Trey McBride this season.
111:00>> Yeah. The only negative I can think of is just that the rest of the tight end group is as deep as ever. So like Samy
111:06points over a placement comes down a little bit, but like that's it. This this is an elite wide receiver that you
111:12can play in at your tight end spot with a head coach who's been awesome and just has a history of funneling the ball to
111:19one player and one player only. Uh and I just think that he's going to do that again. And like the 12 personnel stuff,
111:25those aren't 12 personnel plays. Those are three wide receiver set plays and that just they have Brock Bowers at X wide receiver. Like that's all it is.
111:34>> Yeah. Uh the they're getting respect from the markets too. Um this game opened with a total of 43 and a half and
111:41it's already risen to 47 and a half. So uh that's notable to me. I get a sense from doing this show with you for a very
111:47long time when you're kind of lower than the public on a certain player. Talk to me about Ash and Genty because, you
111:53know, I don't consume as much fancy content as maybe I used to, but a lot of other shows might be saying that he's a
112:02locked in round one pick for the rest of the way. Where you at with Ashen Genty right now?
112:07>> I just think he's a little bit overrated as a pure talent. Um, I just think that he doesn't get to the corner fast enough
112:14and I think he shuffles his feet and he's hard to tackle, but I just don't see like a very explosive player and
112:23explosives are pretty key. So, I been a little bit underwhelmed. There's some data kind of back that up. There's 51 qualifying running backs. He's RB 40 in
112:30rush yards over expected, RB 43 in success rate, RB 45 in EPA per carry.
112:36Um, yeah, I just think it takes a little bit too long for him to get up to speed.
112:41And I think there's been some gaps where I think a faster running back hits that and and takes off. And none of this
112:47would matter at all if Mike Washington wasn't, you know, just kind of sitting behind him. And that 36 yard touchdown, like that's kind of the difference
112:55between Asha Genty and Mike Washington.
112:57Like those are going to be totally two different players and you're have different play designs for them. But, you know, I'm not sure if the RB3 in
113:04usage for for the first three weeks is gonna hold and he's been the RB8 in fantasy points. Uh, the offense is
113:10awesome. Ashen Gent is a capable C pass catcher. Mike Washington like it's going to be a slow ramp up for him, but
113:17>> I don't know, man. Mike Mike Washington looks really awesome. And, uh, I think that, you know, this gap, I think, is
113:23going to close kind of as the season progresses.
113:26Yeah, I don't want to get too negative on Ashen Jindy based on the opportunities he's getting right now.
113:32Um, I will say he's the running back eight in fantasy points per game at this moment despite having, you know, 29
113:42touches in week one, 25 touches in week two along with a couple drops and then 22 touches in week three. Like that's a
113:53whole lot of volume. And Brian points this out that he's been stuffed inside the 10 yard line uh on all seven I think
114:01of his carries or all six of them and six of them he's been hit in the back field. So it's um look that can change
114:08in an instant where there's better blocking and he falls into the end zone and all that changes. But I I agree with
114:13you like the 36 yard touchdown for Mike Washington is exactly what I kind of pictured with that styling of a player.
114:18Um I don't want to read into too much of Clint Kubak after the game saying hey we want to get Mike Washington more
114:23touches. Uh Clint Kubak's press conferences are very brief and he says about fiveword answers and uh I don't think he believes anything that he says
114:31there.
114:32>> No, he doesn't. You almost have to respect it, you know? Uh like it's to the point that he's taking it. Um by the
114:38way, just on stats or similarly on all our podcasts, not everything that I say has to be an exact fantasy take. Like I
114:45want to just mix in like what am I watching? Like I think that you know there's a there's an aspect that both of
114:49you we want to talk about that like both things can be true that Ash and Gent be a totally fine player in fantasy and
114:55that also I'm a little bit underwhelmed and like the reasons why I'm a little bit underwhelmed. Like I I think like
114:59that type of stuff I want to keep hitting on even if it's not like oh he's going to be better than that in fantasy.
115:04It's like okay we can grow beyond that.
115:08>> That's an fantastic point. Thank you for saying that. Let's talk about the Los Angeles Chargers next. So Amar Hampton, his role has declined significantly and
115:18that's a disaster situation for people that drafted him. So Katon Mitchell played 38% of the snaps in week three, Amar Hampton down to 42%
115:28and then Kamani Vidal jumped up to 25%.
115:31So it's not necessarily that Keaton Mitchell's role is necessarily growing here. It's that they're actually throwing in Kamani Vidal for certain
115:37situations. Um Justin Herbert has dropped back 69 times over the last two weeks. The routes from that department, Keat Mitchell 22, Kimani Vid Doll 18,
115:48Omar and Hampton just 15, and then Omar Hampton's targets just a 3.4% share. So it's very clear as you talked about on
115:57Sunday, Omar Hampton's runs are directly upfield. Keith Mitchell stuff is to the sideline and uh every once in a while some of that's working but it's not the
116:07full workload in a good rushing offense that gives these guys the line of scrimmage and that was the reason why I
116:14was willing to draft him in Hampton at the one-two turn.
116:17>> Yeah, I wasn't a big fan of Hampton watching him from the rookie season and I think a lot of that kind of just
116:22proved true. He's not reliable in pass protection and that's why they got Kamani Vidal for the first time out there is for the pass protection reps
116:29and like that doesn't matter that much but it matters on the margins. What happened last week was was fascinating just like more of a commitment to Katon
116:36Mitchell on on the ground and you know him getting that goal line carry. It wasn't not like a traditional goal line
116:41carry but like that does kind of suck on the margins for Omar and Hampton. And I think the bigger thing is just like
116:46another week of the Chargers offense looks like a bottom 10 one not a top 10 one. And they get the Seahawks this week
116:51as well. So Hampton's really falling in my running back rankings. Um he he's still fast enough that he's going to hit
116:58the hole a couple times and like really go crazy and he is still a difficult tackle, but there's more to running back
117:06than just like being a difficult tackle.
117:07>> That's kind of all he is.
117:09>> Yeah, it's all and that all the other stuff they're going to they like kind of just like segmented this backfield and
117:14like that was my concerns like Kamani Vid's not gonna be fantasy relevant. He could just get kind of be an an
117:20annoyance and I think we're like already at that stage in week three.
117:25>> Yeah, Hampton doesn't have any make you miss capabilities. Uh he has no lateral agility to his game and he's big and
117:32runs fast in a straight line and then he twists and turns on final contact and is kind of awkward in that area. And that's
117:38it. And we talked about it all summer long. This was one of those cases where I was kind of drafting situation over
117:44individual talent and I shouldn't have done that. I shouldn't have done that.
117:48It's really that simple because the situation is worse than I could have ever imagined. To the point, Hayden, they face the Seattle Seahawks this week
117:56on the road. I don't know if you've already seen it, but what do you think the projected team total is for the
118:01Chargers right now?
118:02>> Uh, I do see it, but tell the audience it is it's bad.
118:08>> It's 17 and three/4ers points. Um, that has already [clears throat] gone >> that's already gone down by a point and
118:14a half since the markets opened. So, yeah, that's horrific. I never thought we'd be there with the Chargers this season.
118:22Man, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I It's also on my radar that QJ had the drop last week. QJ has really done nothing in terms of like
118:31getting to the right spot at the right time that I could easily see in week four, week five. Trey Harris just coming
118:40in and taking over that wide receiver two spot.
118:43>> And if that's the case, I think Trey Harris is extremely relevant in your waiver wires out there even starting this week. And I'm not saying start him
118:51in week four, just because this team is going to have to drop back so often based on the status of this rushing game
118:57and the defense and how much they're just going to throw the football that Trey Harris just by virtue of being out
119:02there could end up as a wide receiver three.
119:06it was a season or a careerhigh in expected points for him last week and he he split a couple zone defenders and I
119:11was like, "Oh, there's a little bit more pop there." Um, so I agree with you. I can totally see it flipping.
119:17Speaking of the waiver wire, let's talk about the Miami Dolphins.
119:21Uh, Ali Gordon versus Jaylen Wright versus Malik Washington versus Chris Bell.
119:29What do you want to do this week considering it's not just, you know, week four that we're talking about? But I do want to throw out that they have a
119:3613 and three/4ers team total at this point. [sighs and gasps] >> Look, that's the advantage of Ollie Gordon is that he's healthy right now
119:44over Jaylen Wright. You are not starting a running back projected for 14 points, you know, like against the Vikings. Like there's there's no way. Like if you
119:51think you're picking up Ollie Gordon and starting him this week, you you've lost the plot. And I think for that reason, I
119:57would rather take a swing on Jaylen Wright long term. Uh because I just think he's the better player. And guess what? I'm not gonna take that swing
120:04either. The swings I'm taking are at the wide receiver spot. Malik Washington got backfield work after the game. Uh Halfley was saying that he's crossrained
120:13to both positions. He looks like Devon Chan the most like by far like he looks like the player that they can replace
120:19him with. He also stacked Mansor Delane uh way down the football field. Malik Willis over overthrew him, but like he stacked a first round corner way down
120:28the football field. So, um yeah, it's it's not going to matter because it's the Dolphins, but if I had to take one,
120:34it would it would absolutely be Malik Washington. Um you cannot you cannot convince me on the running backs here.
120:39Look at the chart.
120:40>> The the projected team total is actually gone down during the show, Hayden. It's down to 13 and a half. And I'm not I'm
120:45not joking. I'm serious with that. Um that's brutal. That's brutal. Like so often when unfortunate injuries happen to running back spots, it turns into
120:55opportunity for someone else. However, Devon Achan was averaging what like 10, nine fantasy points per game owning this entire backfield basically uh in the
121:06first two healthy weeks. So then you're kind of splitting that in half between two running backs that are kind of very
121:11different stylings. So that's that's I I maybe I'm wrong in the in the long run because we have what 13 weeks 14 weeks left in the fantasy
121:21season. This is one of those few cases where I actually liked Ali Gordon heading into last year. I just feel so
121:27bad about this entire Dolphins operation at this point that I don't want to invest in him right now compared to I
121:34think what other people will spend on him.
121:36>> I It's not even the spending, it's the roster spot. I do not want a roster.
121:40Like, it's not even about fab, but I do not want the roster spot on the Dolphins backfield. Um, it's it's Malik
121:44Washington, by the way. He's a wide receiver 21 expected points, wide receiver 16 in targets per game, wide receiver 19 in air yards per game, wide
121:50receiver nine in target share right now.
121:52Uh, he needs all that work because it's not it's not going to be very efficient, but he's going to be a PPR scam this
121:57year. And then I also wanted to get your thoughts on Chris Bell. I thought there was a lot of like very interesting
122:01moments for him. uh he beat Mansour Delane a couple times on press man coverage uh on inbreakers and then also had a big uh inbreaker for an explosive
122:11as well. So like I that's a pretty promising >> that's pretty promising player to me.
122:16>> Yeah. And we packaged that with what I thought was pretty promising first two weeks for Caleb Douglas on top of it
122:22too.
122:22>> Yeah.
122:22>> Uh so again, I think that this is a wide receiver duo that they can build around and I'm just glad that they're getting
122:28reps out there and kind of learning learning on the job. I mean, everyone's learning on the job in that offense. I
122:33would even say that Kaden Proctor had a really good game at left guard. Um, it's weird. There's individuals that are there, but it's just like it's just not
122:41it's not cutting it right now. And the defense doesn't help at all because you're just going to be a negative game
122:45for the entire game.
122:46>> But Jacob Rodriguez, who their second round linebacker, he's been awesome.
122:50It's it's everyone else. I have a soft spot for this Dolphins team. I I want to watch them. I want to root for them.
122:56they there is a um an acceptance of what they are and they're still going for it.
123:01And I've liked Halfley like how honest he is out there. Same thing with Malik Willis. Like they've got some fun players. This team is terrible
123:08obviously, but they are like a you know like I I'm keeping my eye on them just because you know they're they're taking
123:13like an optimistic lens over it all.
123:17>> Anything you want to say about the Minnesota Vikings who are next, their opponent here in week four? Uh, we know
123:23Justin Jefferson actually came back with positive news on his ankle. He might even play here in week four, but Kyler Murray stepped in again. They were part
123:31of that atrocious third quarter where I think they and the Bucks combined for 27 total yards in that entire quarter. Um,
123:38but Jordan Addison got home with, you know, the two big explosives down the field.
123:43Yeah, Addison had a couple really bad moments in press man coverage, but at the same time when you have that speed
123:48and you like that kind of relentless just like downfield uh you know role like it's going to pop off. I thought
123:55Kyler Murray played panicked. I will say their right guard was that was one of the worst performances from Will Fry. Uh
124:02their center was getting walked back.
124:03like those two players. It wasn't the left guard, it wasn't really the tackle, is the center and right guard got completely walked back, which is
124:09concerning because you're talking about Kyler Murray as a short quarterback and interior pressure is always just going to uh kind of spook him. Uh yeah, it was
124:17a lot of downfield attempts not really going anywhere. So, if Addison or if Jefferson is out, I would absolutely play Jordan Addison as a top 25 fantasy
124:25wide receiver. Uh, but once Justin Jefferson's back there, like Addison can't be trusted until Kyler Murray like shows like a little bit more stability
124:34in this offense.
124:36Let's talk the New England Patriots. I am the sicko that in the experts league started Drake May in each of the last
124:45three weeks just hoping hoping it's going to get better. Um, oh yeah. Yeah.
124:49I mean, there's nothing. It was CJ Stout or Drake May and I was just like, why not? Let's just go with with Drake May.
124:55Um, since the start of the postseason last year, Drake May now has nine fumbles and 10 interceptions.
125:04Is there any hope? Can this turn around?
125:06Or is this just the sorry state of the Patriots offense? And Drake May's also just making complete boneheaded mistakes
125:16that he almost never did last year.
125:19>> He's playing awful. Um there was this I had a stat on the first read targets and they were dead last in that I think
125:26that's you know a scheme stat. I think that's just you know the personnel you're throwing to are they any good and
125:33they haven't been very good and then also the quarterback playing there but they're they're dead last in the NFL like they have a negative EPA per play
125:39when they're throwing the ball to the first read and obviously out of structure it's been a complete roller coaster as well. Um is there a fantasy
125:47starter period? you know, Trayvon Henderson and Raandre, it was a it was a, you know, the same old stuff with them where it was very even. Uh, it
125:55wasn't a good game from anybody in this offense. They're projected for 20 uh.75 points. Obviously, we have a running back ranking show tomorrow, but like
126:03that that's my question is Raandre got the goal line carry uh and then Trayvon got a lot of this work early on. Um, are
126:10they good enough to carry a like a a legitimate like split backfield like 50/50 here? And I'm not sure if the
126:16answer is yes. No, it it's to the point where you have to be they have to prove it to you to play anyone in the starting
126:24lineup right now in your fantasy line.
126:26That's fair. It it really is that simple. Um >> yeah, I've got no idea what I'm going to do with that quarterback spot. It I I
126:32don't even want to talk about it. Okay, next. Let's talk about the uh the New Orleans Saints. Um not too much to
126:39discuss with this team either, right?
126:41You have Chris Ave, you have Jawan Johnson who I believe is a tight end four on the season right now. just a
126:47heck of a pick. Heck of a pick. Along with George KD being the Titan three. Uh the running back room, nothing was
126:53solved with Travis Han leaving. It's still a threeperson committee. And then you have Devon popping up as a questionable flex week in and week out.
127:01Anything you want to add here?
127:03>> Uh this team's projected for a lot of points this week. This team is playing at the league's highest pace. They are
127:09Tyler Shuck is like dropping back like I think it's like close to 50 times per game right now. And when you drop back
127:1450 times per game, you can start everyone. And especially when you know they know what they have in Alvin Chimera, which is nothing. Same thing
127:20with Kendrick Miller, you know, CJ Donaldson. The same rotation there. This team just going to live and die by the Tyler Shuck drop backs. And you know,
127:27Joan Johnson's been highly uh interesting to watch after the catch. Um but I think Veillay is like a real starter this week. Um we'll get to that
127:36in our wide receiver rankings episode on Friday. Uh but he's the wide receiver 25 on wide receiver 22 usage this season. A
127:43lot of that was the the first game there, but his his uh week- toeek usage has stayed the exact same across and I
127:51don't know why that would change this week. So I I think that Ve is like kind of like getting like he's part of the
127:57trust trust right now.
127:59New York Jets, I talked a lot about Kenyan Sadik on the waiver show. I want your take on Kenyan Sadi who I believe
128:09is the tight end six already on the season points per game. Uh that's no tight tight end eight, excuse me. Uh
128:18following up a a 20point week here on week three >> tight and eight on tight end 21 usage.
128:24So he's getting home on explosives and some manufactured touches. Everything has worked to Sadiq. That's a win. He is still out there for 59% of the routes,
128:3358% of the snaps. So, we're still like overcoming this like part-time player.
128:37That said, like whenever he's on the field, they're going to get the ball to him. And that diving play, I mean, what
128:42an absolute missile that was from Gino Smith on that seam route. That was a not the first read in and the play. So,
128:48awesome play by Gino Smith. There's, you know, the attempted hurdle in the flat for Sadi. We've got an ender rounds for
128:54him as well. So, I agreed with you and Joel that he would be my second waiver wire addition. like you know I think
129:00Tyler Higgby this week could be really interesting but like longterm Sadi is like it's like getting too good to ignore on a team that's like largely
129:07going to be playing for the future. Um so as long as Mason Taylor is not out there I think that Sadi is interesting.
129:13>> Yeah I don't want to pour cold water on this. This is more of a football take than a fantasy take. I do want to note
129:19for people that I don't believe that Kanan Sadi is in the plans for this team to be like their isolated singular tight
129:26end in 11 personnel looks, you know. So maybe they'll just live out of 12 personnel when Mason Taylor comes back because Omar Cooper, you know, is banged
129:35up and they don't want to put Isaiah Williams out there and all that type of stuff. Yeah. But what Kunique was doing
129:41was kind of that secondary piece in 12 most of the time and was given free releases and as a movement player. I'm
129:48not saying that that that's a negative for fantasy football. Like that's good.
129:51We want the good athletic receiver to be utilized as an athletic receiver. Uh, I'm just saying overall I don't know if
130:00we're going to see a full-time tight end 80% snap player during a large portion of his rookie season, but maybe we do
130:06get there at some point because been very high and Mason Taylor has been playing well when on the field.
130:13>> Yeah, I think it's a short-term addition uh with the chance that he's just like too good to put back in the back. So, if
130:18Adai Mitchell and Mason Taylor out, then he's going to be a top 10 fantasy tight end for me. Um, and then
130:23>> and flex.
130:25>> Yes. Yeah, definitely Flex Possible.
130:27Garrett Wilson, that was unbelievable tape. I thought he had the Lions DBs spinning in circles um for a lot of that
130:35game. Like like legitimately spinning in circles. Like they were playing a a bunch of man coverage and they couldn't hang. So it was it was the highest we
130:42had ranked Garrett Wilson heading into the week and you know I'm probably going to double down on that. Gino Smith's playing good football. Uh 38% target
130:49share last week for Garrett Wilson with everyone else out of the lineup and it's a as good of a matchup against the
130:54Chicago Bears.
130:56100%. I think Gino looks awesome, too.
130:59It It's so cool to see him >> dig in his feet and then just re rip that seam pass or the double move to
131:05Garrett Wilson. He He's kind of back to his Seattle Seahawks ways a little bit.
131:10And you know, I think there's some offensive line problems when we can now talk about the running game. They're not creating a a bunch of holes there, but
131:17um they're giving Gino enough time and enough, I would say, comfort and confidence in them that he's willing to stick in there and fire these passes
131:26down the field. Do you agree with Joel and I that you would rather have Brilan Allen for two or three weeks than Ali
131:32Gordon or Jaylen Wright for 13 weeks?
131:37>> Yeah, I think so. Um you just never know about the quad injury. I think that Brilen Allen's like a totally fine bench
131:42stash like for the rest of the season.
131:43He's played 84 of 88 snaps without Bree Hall on the field this season. I mean, that's, you know, that's hard to find.
131:48Um, Isaiah Davis has been active in all those games. He just has not played an offensive snap yet. Uh, and the Jets are
131:5520 um.1 expected halftime guard points to the running back room through three weeks. So, if you give, you know, 80% of
132:01that to Brayen Allen, you have an RB2.
132:04>> Seattle Seahawks second to last team. We're going to stay in the running back room here. It's the only thing to talk about the Seahawks.
132:11Uh Jarian Price had a bad fumble kind of on like a second phase of being tackled.
132:17Uh it sucks because he opened with like a really nice 11yard run. They did bring him back out there just for a couple
132:23snaps and one of those was a wheel route that I swear Hayden if he was going up against anyone other than Sunny Styles
132:30it would have been a nice gain but Sunny Styles stayed stride for stride and tipped it away. A great PBU by him. But
132:37um like look, we talked about Bashel Tutin stacking strong performances and earning trust. It's kind of getting to this point where Jiren Price is doing a
132:46little bit of the opposite in a way where in week two it was the injury that sidelined him for the entire fourth
132:52quarter and especially here losing a fumble in a losing effort that doesn't generate more opportunities for you in terms of stacking games.
133:02>> I mean, no one's going to have a good read on this. Um I >> Wilson sucked in this game too by the
133:08way.
133:09>> I agree and but also got two different goal line opportunities on different drives. Hani got a goal line opportunity and then even without the fumbles like
133:18Emanuel Wilson was getting subbed in at goal line before the fumbles. He was closing out the game with a chest injury. You know like I'm going to
133:26listen to whatever they're say uh and like read up on the Seahawks reporters on what we're going to do here. But like
133:32my expectation is that Jadarian Price is going to be in a threeback committee until proven otherwise. And you know, Charban is not that far away from
133:41returning here. Um so like unfortunately like the the window is closing on Jadarian Price. Like we needed him to be balling out right now and has just not
133:49sees the opportunity. They don't trust him in pass protection at all. Uh and the fumbles aren't aren't helping. And then obviously you know Sunny Styles
133:56like both of those plays like the the punch out on Price and then also that coverage. That is what an allp pro
134:01linebacker looks like. And like he is he is massive. Uh so it's like so cool to watch him play.
134:06>> Yeah, I would have loved if they saved that wheel route for, you know, against a different linebacker not named >> not named Sunny Styles. Uh that would
134:13have been great. And maybe one of the Chargers linebackers this week, you know, that would have been cool. Like Deion Henley, throw it against him
134:18instead of Sunny Styles.
134:20>> Uh I don't think we need to throw out the dozen awesome JSN stats out there because, you know, JSN's like the best
134:25pick in Fantasy football at this moment.
134:28>> Yep. I agree.
134:29>> Okay, >> nice stardom.
134:31>> We'll close with the Tennessee Titans and maybe every week we should close with the Tennessee Titans. Uh just because there's like nothing left to add
134:37here. I mean truly nothing left. Uh unless you want to talk about like Alec Amanor, I understand Cardinal Tate got a
134:42little bit more involved here, >> but I mean the 30ish seconds left in the clock having two timeouts and throwing the
134:50interception in the red zone is just ridiculous stuff when you can at least send it into overtime.
134:57>> I didn't watch Zidens. They're in the rain. I've had enough of this offense.
135:00So, I didn't learn anything. They They were not on my to-do list. So, unless you have more notes than that. Uh,
135:06>> no, I don't. Um, they are projected for 16 and a quarter point. So, they should thank the Miami Dolphins for keeping
135:13them from the bottom of the barrel. And they face the Baltimore Ravens here in week four, Hayden. So, just just when
135:18you think.
135:19>> Yeah, >> just when you think. It can't get worse.
135:22It gets worse. Um, one note, Pard's the running back 28 and running back 25 usage. He's still just playing a lot more snaps than Spears,
135:30but like, you know, don't play him. [laughter] >> He's great for your bench, but don't play him.
135:36>> Yes. And in my market share of carries and and [laughter] snaps league, >> Tony Pard is is a fine flex option.
135:44>> He's a gonna do it for us. Thanks so much for tuning in. Uh, tomorrow it's Hayden I for running back rankings and then on
135:53Friday it's Hayden and I for wide receiver rankings. So, thank you for the support. Thank you for the comments.
135:58Thank you for watching. Thank you for subscribing and thank you for leaving thumbs up on the video. And thank you to
