Carnell Tate

NegativeBust0:04

Carnell Tate is viewed as overvalued at his 7th-round ADP compared to KC Concepcion. Cam Ward is bearish on the Tennessee offense under Brian Daboll and quarterback Cam Ward, noting that Tate will face difficult one-on-one matchups against number one cornerbacks as an outside receiver, which limits his fantasy upside relative to his draft cost.

KC Concepcion

Sam asserts that KC Concepcion should be the highest-drafted rookie wide receiver, despite currently being drafted in the 11th round compared to Carnell Tate's 7th-round ADP. While acknowledging the disparity in NFL draft capital (24th overall vs. 4th overall), Cam Ward argues Concepcion's archetype as a player who can be schemed touches makes him a superior PPR asset, even in a projected bottom-half scoring offense like the Browns.

0:00I think Casey Concepcion should be the
0:03highest drafted rookie wide receiver and
0:04I think he's going ahead of Carnell
0:06Tate. Uh looking at Yahoo ADP that is
0:10uh a bold take versus consensus. I think
0:12Concepcion's going in the 11th round and
0:13Carnell Tate is going in the 7th round.
0:16I think the biggest pushback to this
0:17point immediately would be looking at
0:19that NFL draft order and saying, "Hey
0:21Sam, did you see Carnell Tate went
0:23fourth overall and Concepcion went 24th
0:26overall?" And I totally understand that.
0:28I am firmly a believer in draft capital
0:31matters. I I trust NFL teams to evaluate
0:33players generally more than guys with
0:35spreadsheets. But I do think you have to
0:38consider the archetype of player that
0:40these two guys are. I think Carnell Tate
0:43in Tennessee, he's going to be lined up
0:45on the outside against number one
0:47corners having to win in one-on-one
0:49situations with Cam Ward as his
0:52quarterback. And after what I've seen, I
0:53am very bearish on this Brian Daboll Cam
0:57Ward offense in year two. And for
1:00Concepcion, you could say, "Hey, he's on
1:02the Browns. Are are things going to be
1:03much better at quarterback?" I would say
1:05probably not. But the thing about
1:06Concepcion is he's much better in terms
1:10of a guy that you can get schemed
1:11touches to. So he can be much more of
1:13that sort of PPR scam in a way that
1:16actually still pays off even in an
1:18offense that, you know, let's be honest,
1:19the Browns are going to be bottom half
1:21in scoring this year. I'm I'm conceding
1:23that. But I do think that sort of volume
1:25could be there for Concepcion.
