Alec Pierce

NegativeValue26:15

Alec Pierce is identified as one of the wide receivers currently being drafted in round seven on Yahoo.

Insight page

Blake Corum

NegativeValue38:43

The source categorizes Blake Corum as a late-round contingent-based running back alternative to higher-drafted players.

Insight page

Breece Hall

PositiveValue11:26

The source expresses a preference for investing in the New York Jets' offense, specifically highlighting Breece Hall as a target over players on the Arizona Cardinals.

Insight page

Brian Thomas Jr.

NegativeValue7:35

Brian Thomas Jr. is identified as one of the wide receivers currently being drafted in round seven on Yahoo.

Insight page

Bucky Irving

NegativeBust30:31

Bucky Irving is a fade at his fifth-round ADP. He ranked 65th in rush yards over expected and 64th in EPA per carry last year. Concerns include his 195-pound frame, injury history, and competition for goal-line work from Sean Tucker and Rachaad White. He is also being squeezed for playing time by Kenneth Gainwell, and the team's projected scoring has dropped significantly.

Insight page

Chase Brown

PositiveValue3:36

Hayden Winks suggests pairing Chase Brown with Derrick Henry at the end of the first round as a unique alternative to drafting James Cook.

Insight page

Chris Godwin

NegativeBust30:45

Chris Godwin should be faded due to his decline into a 'slot-only' role and poor efficiency metrics, including a 6th percentile rating against zone and 16th percentile against man coverage per Reception Perception. Concerns regarding his age (30), injury history (ankle, ACL, and lingering turf toe), and inconsistent hands make him a difficult player to trust, with Emeka Egbuka potentially supplanting him.

Insight page

Chuba Hubbard

PositiveUsage27:44

The source highlights Chuba Hubbard's strong 2024 performance, noting he was the RB12, had RB7 usage, and ranked RB4 in rush yards over expected. The source believes the bar to surpass him in the Panthers' backfield is higher than commonly perceived.

Insight page

D'Andre Swift

PositiveValue22:36

D'Andre Swift is identified as a superior draft pick in round four compared to selecting a quarterback like Joe Burrow, who is labeled a 'statue quarterback'.

Insight page

David Montgomery

NegativeBust25:46

David Montgomery is a 'dead zone' profile to avoid in the fifth round. He is coming off his worst season in missed tackles per touch rate, and the Texans' offensive line is in flux with injuries and unproven starters. Additionally, long-term wear and tear concerns as a bellcow back and the emergence of Woody Marks threaten his volume, potentially shifting the backfield to a 60/40 or 55/45 split.

Insight page

De'Von Achane

PositiveValue3:34

Hayden Winks prefers drafting Devon Achane alongside Kenneth Walker III at the end of the first round as a unique roster construction alternative to drafting James Cook.

Insight page

Derrick Henry

PositiveValue3:36

Hayden Winks suggests pairing Derrick Henry with Chase Brown at the end of the first round as a unique alternative to drafting James Cook.

Insight page

DK Metcalf

NegativeValue

DK Metcalf is identified as one of the wide receivers currently being drafted in round seven on Yahoo.

Insight page

Emeka Egbuka

NegativeBreakout33:25

The source projects Emeka Egbuka to emerge as the primary underneath and middle-of-the-field target for his team, effectively transitioning into the role previously held by Chris Godwin. The source identifies Egbuka as a preferred target over Chris Godwin, noting that Egbuka can replicate much of what prime Chris Godwin offered, and has been loading up on him in drafts despite a potential toe injury concern.

Insight page

Garrett Wilson

PositiveValue11:26

The source expresses a preference for investing in the New York Jets' offense, specifically highlighting Garrett Wilson as a target over players on the Arizona Cardinals.

Insight page

George Kittle

NegativeBust30:11

The source fades George Kittle in round eight, citing his age (almost 33) and recovery from Achilles surgery on January 14th; expectations are for him to be eased into the season and potentially not a full-time player in week two. Despite these concerns, the source acknowledges his historical consistency as a top-five tight end in points per game for eight consecutive seasons.

Insight page

Ja'Marr Chase

NegativeValue22:13

Drafting Joe Burrow in the fifth round is only considered a viable strategy if the manager already has Ja'Marr Chase on their roster, specifically in half-PPR formats.

Insight page

Jahmyr Gibbs

NegativeValue9:08

The source identifies Jahmyr Gibbs as a fade at his current ADP, where he is being selected as the RB7 to RB9 (15th overall at worst). Given he finished as the RB17 last year, the source argues that expecting a jump to an overall 15th-round pick value is an overreaction to his potential improvement from 'awful to average'. The source further notes that Gibbs remains a 'terrifying' pick at the top of drafts.

Insight page

James Cook

PositiveBust2:06

Hayden Winks is fading James Cook in the first round; while Cook was the RB6 per game last year, his 16 half-PPR points per game trailed the top five RBs by two to five points. Winks argues Cook lacks the target volume to compete with elite RBs like Christian McCaffrey, Jonathan Taylor, Bijan Robinson, and Jahmyr Gibbs, and doubts his receiving role will expand given the health of Dalton Kincaid and the addition of Keon Coleman. The source prefers drafting Justin Jefferson over Cook, though notes taking two RBs at the turn is a viable alternative.

Insight page

Jaylen Warren

NegativeValue26:27

Jaylen Warren is noted as a round seven pick on Yahoo, with the source suggesting drafters must get past him to reach other targets like Parker Washington.

Insight page

Joe Burrow

NegativeValue21:58

The source labels Joe Burrow a 'statue quarterback' and advises against drafting him in round four, preferring to wait for later rounds to select quarterbacks. While acknowledging he has been a top-five fantasy quarterback since 2022, the source notes the top 20 quarterbacks are separated by only 3.5 points, making it more valuable to invest in other positions early. Drafting him in the fifth round is only considered viable if the manager already has Ja'Marr Chase in half-PPR formats.

Insight page

Jonathon Brooks

NegativeBust26:52

The source advises against drafting Jonathan Brooks in rounds six or seven, citing his history of multiple ACL tears, lack of NFL experience, and the uncertainty of the Panthers' backfield committee.

Insight page

Jordan Addison

PositiveValue58:52

The source prefers drafting Jordan Addison over Chris Godwin when both are available in the same range.

Insight page

Jordyn Tyson

NegativeValue26:33

Jordan Tyson is identified as one of the wide receivers currently being drafted in round seven on Yahoo.

Insight page

Josh Allen

NegativeValue8:29

The source fades Josh Allen in the second round on Yahoo due to pricing, preferring to draft him at the round three-four turn based on his historical fantasy points over replacement. While acknowledging his status as a fantasy rock star over the last four seasons, the source notes he has historically finished between 18th and 30th overall in half-PPR scoring, making a second-round pick risky. Additionally, the source notes that some critics label Brian Daboll as a 'Josh Allen merchant,' implying his coaching reputation is heavily tied to the quarterback's performance.

Insight page

Josh Downs

PositiveValue58:51

The source prefers drafting Josh Downs over Chris Godwin when both are available in the same range.

Insight page

Justin Jefferson

NegativeBust4:46

Hayden Winks has moved Justin Jefferson down to 15th or 16th overall, preferring to draft running backs at the turn. Winks expresses concern regarding the uncertainty of the Vikings' quarterback situation, noting that the lack of a clear, dominant starter has him spooked about how the offense will play out. Previously, the source noted Jefferson was WR3 in points per game with Sam Darnold and WR5 with Kirk Cousins and Nick Mullens, while maintaining high target and air yard shares.

Insight page

Kenneth Gainwell

NegativeUsage31:42

Kenneth Gainwell is viewed as a 'pro's pro' and a pass-catching threat who is squeezing Bucky Irving for playing time through the air, backed by a two-year, $14 million contract.

Insight page

Kenneth Walker III

PositiveValue3:34

Hayden Winks prefers drafting Kenneth Walker III alongside Devon Achane at the end of the first round as a unique roster construction alternative to drafting James Cook.

Insight page

Kyle Monangai

NegativeValue38:45

The source identifies Kyle Monangai as a late-round contingent-based running back alternative.

Insight page

Kyler Murray

NegativeProjection4:07

Kyler Murray is the source's most drafted quarterback. While Hayden Winks notes the offense will be significantly better than the previous year's performance, he expresses slight concern that Murray did not run away with the job early on.

Insight page

Kyren Williams

PositiveValue35:03

The source identifies Kyren Williams as a preferred running back target in the draft, favoring him over other players going in the same range.

Insight page

Malik Nabers

NegativeBust40:02

The source is avoiding Malik Nabers in drafts, citing concerns about the Giants' offensive line, quarterback play, and the team's 30th-ranked scoring offense; notes he is not at the elite prospect level of Ja'Marr Chase.

Insight page

Malik Washington

NegativeValue38:47

The source identifies Malik Washington as a late-round contingent-based running back alternative.

Insight page

Matthew Golden

PositiveValue58:53

The source prefers drafting Matthew Golden over Chris Godwin when both are available in the same range.

Insight page

Michael Wilson

NegativeUsage10:20

The source notes that Michael Wilson's high route volume last season was largely a product of the Cardinals playing in 'garbage time' throughout the year, which the source does not expect to repeat at the same level.

Insight page

Parker Washington

NegativeValue26:08

The source questions the value of wide receivers being drafted in round seven, specifically mentioning Parker Washington as a player whose ADP is being debated.

Insight page

Patrick Mahomes

NegativeProjection30:45

Drafting Patrick Mahomes at his current ADP is discouraged, as his career-high rushing production from last year is expected to decline due to injury history and the team's shift toward a more run-heavy approach with a reliable backfield.

Insight page

Puka Nacua

NegativeProjection25:18

Puka Nacua is grouped with other top-tier players that cause concern regarding early-round draft strategy.

Insight page

Rashee Rice

NegativeInjury12:12

The source advises against drafting Rashee Rice, citing his recovery from a knee cleanup procedure and off-field issues. The source notes that Chiefs reporter Nate Taylor believes 900 yards is an optimistic projection, and suggests that changes to the Chiefs' offense under Patrick Mahomes may diminish Rice's specific YAC-heavy role.

Insight page

Rhamondre Stevenson

PositiveUsage37:05

The source highlights Rhamondre Stevenson as an underrated asset who dominated goal-line work (12-to-4 carry split) and pass-protection duties over Tyjae Spears; also cites NextGen Stats ranking him with the best rush yards over expected in the NFL last year.

Insight page

Rico Dowdle

NegativeUsage27:08

Rico Dowdle is mentioned as a player who had a productive stretch in the middle of the season, though the source notes he is a 1% player in their current draft strategy.

Insight page

Tank Bigsby

NegativeValue38:46

The source identifies Tank Bigsby as a late-round contingent-based running back alternative.

Insight page

Travis Etienne

PositiveValue35:01

The source identifies Travis Etienne as a preferred running back target in the draft, favoring him over other players going in the same range.

Insight page

Travis Kelce

NegativeUsage29:42

Travis Kelce serves as the benchmark for target consistency at the tight end position, with the source noting his historical ability to reliably command nine targets per game.

Insight page

Trey McBride

NegativeValue9:43

The source advises caution drafting Trey McBride in the early third round, noting that while he was an exception last year, new variables make a repeat performance uncertain. The source prefers taking swings on running backs like Trey Benson or wide receivers like Nico Collins in that range, citing concerns about a more balanced Cardinals offense and the team's low projected points per game.

Insight page

Tyjae Spears

NegativeRole36:55

The source views Tyjae Spears as a contingent-based bet who lacks the goal-line and pass-protection role held by Rhamondre Stevenson; notes Spears averaged only 3.4 half-PPR points per game in the playoffs compared to Stevenson's 11.6.

Insight page

Woody Marks

PositiveBreakout27:20

Woody Marks is showing improvement as a rusher in his second season. He has demonstrated the ability to catch passes and pass protect, and he is making noise in training camp, which could lead to a significant role in the Texans' backfield, potentially creating a 60/40 or 62/38 split with David Montgomery.

0:00the one thing you love about the show, positivity. You know, we always bring the optimism, right? Not today. Really not these next two shows over the next
0:08five days. Uh we're bringing the heat, we're bringing the pessimism, we're bringing the negativity here. And uh Hayden is on the hot seat with the what
0:17is it, 16 names you need to avoid before round 10.
0:20>> Yeah, I was writing this and one name per round wasn't enough. I I decided to throw in multiple fades uh for each
0:26round. And here's what I'll say. I looked at my exposures. I'm going to do like 200 drafts this year. These are the
0:30guys I'm taking like either literally 0% of the time or like under 3 4% of the time out there. So, we'll talk about
0:37this in the lens of Yahoo ADP, how I'm building teams. Uh, but just know if I'm wrong here, I'm paying for it.
0:44>> The hater rate is flowing over today.
0:46Uh, as you said, our two shows will be slightly different since they come out so close together. Yours is all in
0:51relation to Yahoo's ADP. Mine will be in relation to all homely ADPs kind of aggregated together, combined together.
0:59So, you get a different flavor from each of us. And in fact, I think we might only cross over about two or three names
1:03in our entire list. So, this is going to be a very, very good exercise. All right, we also have the inverse of this,
1:09by the way, where our favorite picks in every single round. So, you know, go watch that video after this round one.
1:16uh give us both names, but start with one of uh who you have the most hesitation of in the first 12 picks,
1:23even though we know the opening 12 picks, they're all pretty damn good at football.
1:26>> These guys are good. Uh James Cook, I've not been drafting all that much. He was the RB6 per game last year. He led the
1:32NFL in rush yards and carries per game.
1:35His 16 half PPR points per game, were two to five points behind the top five running back. So even though he was the
1:42RB6, there was a pretty substantial back uh or difference between CMC, Taylor, Bejan Gibbs, and Devon Adrian just because he didn't catch the ball enough.
1:50That could change.
1:52>> That seems like asking a lot to change when Don Concincaid's actually healthy and you just add DJ more like are you
1:57really going to throw the ball to your running back more uh in that scenario.
2:00He was the RB 39 receptions per game. So I just don't see like that crazy ceiling to compete with like the the top five,
2:07top six picks uh in the draft. So, I've been kind of like doing some funky things at the end of round one. I'll do
2:14Devon Aan with Kenneth Walker, Derk Henry, with Chase Brown. I'll get Unique at the end of the round. Uh, and I think
2:20James Cook will be a very, very strong RB1. I just don't see the pathway for him to like really be the guy that you
2:28needed this year.
2:28>> Yeah, I don't want to press you too much on round one guys because again, they're very good players and it's not like you
2:33dislike James Cook. you just simply tend to prefer some other names that are typically going after him and select him above. Um, which is totally fine. You
2:42know, >> you, me, 10 other people at Yahoo have, you know, an expert draft that is going to be streamed for like three hours next
2:50Tuesday. Uh, obviously you and I are selecting back toback. You had the ninth pick and I have the 10th pick. I'm kind
2:55of open to James Cook at the 10th overall pick. you know, he just did an interview with our buddy Matt Harmon,
3:00and Harmon directly asked him, >> "Hey, you're going to catch more passes this year. Is Joe Brady going to expand the passing offense?" And he basically
3:07refused to answer and said, "You just have to watch." And so, you know, James Cook's game has totally transformed over the last few years now that he owns the
3:13inside of the 10 yard line work. Uh he had eight in the rate of runs of 10 plus yards last year, we know, and then
3:18second in yards per rush and all that stuff. So, if he gets the passing volume on top of that, that's how this goes to
3:24the next level. But at the same time, if it's just the rushing aspect, um, you know, he can be a very solid pick for
3:30you in the back half.
3:31>> Yeah. There's some other weird parts about the the Buffalo Bills, like you have a first time head coach, you lost a
3:36veteran guard, like those type of little things. Just you just never know exactly. They might be pass more pass heavy, but not throw uh throw the ball
3:43to James Cook. So, we'll see. And then my other name real quick is Justin Jefferson.
3:48>> This one I have him like 15th 16th overall.
3:53>> What happened? You used to be with me in the top 12 and now you moved him down to 16.
3:57>> Uh I just like am really warming up to like those other running backs a lot more. I mean he was the wide receiver 31
4:02last year. It was nowhere near his fault. And it's not going to be nearly that bad with Kyler Murray. By the way,
4:07Kyler Murray is my most drafted uh player uh at quarterback. Um it's just to me I like my teams when I have the
4:14running backs over Justin Jefferson. And the fact that like Kyler Murray didn't like run away with this job so early on
4:20has me just a little bit spooked on how this thing could could play out. not to like completely fade Justin Jefferson. I
4:25draft him more than I do James Cook. But if you wanted to go two running backs at the turn instead of Jeff instead of
4:30Justin Jefferson, I think totally fine.
4:33>> I am winding up on an island with my Justin Jefferson take because now it's Hugh, it's Harmon, it's Boone, all
4:38having him outside the top 12 rankings.
4:41I I'm still in because, you know, you you go back to it. He was still, you know, wide receiver three in points per
4:47game with Darnold, wide receiver five with Cousins and Mullins. uh he still owned wide receiver four in terms of team targets across the league and wide
4:53receiver five in terms of air yards. So, you know, for me, if Kyler Murray was my number one drafted quarterback, then I
4:59would also be in on Justin Jefferson, too.
5:01>> Well, Jordan Addison happens to be my highest highest drafted wide receiver.
5:06>> Why not?
5:06>> Okay, this is going to get easier as we go through the board. So, let's now go to round two. Who's your number one fade
5:12in the second round?
5:13>> It's Ashton Genty. I think I've settled that he should be going like late round two, early round three, but I have been
5:21in a lot of drafts since the news and he goes just before that still. So, the ankle injury, it seems like it's not
5:27going to be that big of a deal. It's still pretty vague. Uh, we didn't get any analysis from Clint Goo. I think
5:32he's going to miss either zero games or the first four games, somewhere in that range. Uh, I just have concerns about
5:38the Raiders still. Like I still think their offensive line is pretty it's a work in progress up there. And then you
5:45have the quarterback situation. I think I like Fernando Mendoza, but we are talking about rookie quarterbacks. Those guys tend to struggle. And then the wide
5:52receivers are amongst the worst in the NFL. They're projected for 19 points per game. That's number 28 in the NFL. All
5:59of the running backs near him play in top 16 offenses aside from Devon Aan. I know that Devon Aan's a superstar. I'm
6:07waiting to see that from Ashton Genty.
6:09Uh I can't say that his rookie tape like completely wowed me. He's good on contact. I think it takes him a second
6:14to get through the hole. Maybe a little bit more indecisive than I was expecting him to be. And then the advanced metrics
6:20just show a player that really has to improve to get home. So he was the RB11 in usage last year because the Raiders
6:26were just not good enough to get him to the goal line. I think that Mike Washington's going to actually play a
6:31little bit more on the margins for Ashen Genty. There's too many things to get right when he was the RB16 in a per game
6:37basis last year.
6:38>> That crazy 5 hour window a couple days ago. I was expecting that to drop his ADP in his draft slot way more than it
6:46has. Like, you know, these Yahoo drafts are updating every 48 hours. He's still the first pick in the second round right
6:53now. If you look at baseball, you know, he's still the third pick in the second round. And again, those are updating
6:58constantly. And that's to me at best where he should have been going before this injury, right? When you're talking about the likes of Ken Walker III, Chase
7:08Brown, Devon Achan, heck, even Derrick Henry, and obviously Saquon Barkley ahead of him at this point. Um, I don't think they're adjusting enough. It It's
7:16not just the individual stuff that you're talking about with the offensive line. I also believe that even if Ashen Genty plays in week one, it won't be to
7:23the fullon scale. And I'm not a doctor.
7:25I'm just projecting here. And so if that's the case, then Mike Washington is able to get more work than maybe people
7:32expected him to two or three weeks ago.
7:35And I think Mike Washington Jr. is going to show some stuff when getting that work right. And then if that's the case,
7:39and he does show stuff, then the gap of 86% of the touches last year might drop down to 65% of the touches this year.
7:47And that's a drastic difference when we're talking about back to this one two turn.
7:50>> Yeah. To me, it's like really not even as much about the injury. obviously like he has a a higher injury risk than
7:55anybody else going around him because of just like the setback nature and still a vague injury. Um but I just think that
8:01Mike Washington is a whole lot better than freaking Rake Moster and Dylan Lowry from last year. So I would just be
8:06surprised if he got the exact same workload the year before. Basically the Raiders have to be pretty solid to like average, you know, the 20th best offense
8:15this year for Genty to like really get home. And I I think they're still like a year away. It does sound like the uh
8:21lowest of lowest of low sprain ankles based on insiders. Believe it.
8:26>> It keeps getting lower.
8:27>> It keeps getting lower. All right.
8:29>> Um, real quick, I got Josh Allen in uh round two as a fade. That's just a pricing issue on Yahoo. I draft him at
8:36the round three, four turn. Uh I I've done the number fantasy points over replacement per game using half PPR scoring. Over the last four seasons,
8:44he's been a rock star, but has finished between 18th and 30th overall in those seasons. in full PPR, it would even be a
8:51little bit lower than that. That's when he's been like an MVP player. That's when he's been a red zone or a goal line
8:57absolute warrior out there. So, you know, there's like too many things that can go wrong slightly for Josh Allen in round two. In round three, round four,
9:05knock yourself out. I'm not going to say anything else about it.
9:08>> Yeah. Just one final point on Ashen Genty. He's being selected as the running back seven or running back nine, depending on your platform. Uh that's
9:1515th overall at worst. Uh he finishes the running back 17 last year. You know, I think going from awful to average
9:25shouldn't have the running back 17 be the running just the overall 15th player. Like I thought I was doing a massive service going from the running
9:32back 17 to the 18th overall player, but I'm just not winding up with him at all in draft because people just are uh
9:39>> going extreme with with the draft slot.
9:41Okay.
9:41>> Yep.
9:42>> Round three. Give us a name.
9:43>> All right. Trey McBride at the very top of the round here. I think just recent history suggests that we have to be very
9:49careful drafting elite tight ends. Trey McBride was the exception. Last year I was in on Trey McBride that year.
9:55There's just too many new variables this year to feel confident that this is going to repeat. Obviously, I still have Trey McBride as a great pick. As you get
10:03to like the last part of round three, but early round three, I would just rather take my swings on the running
10:08backs. Uh like Jeremiah Love, for example, any of the wide receivers, like if Nico Collins is there, I just feel way better about that. McBride led the
10:16regular season in routes by 63. That's not tight ends. That's all players.
10:20Number two was Michael Wilson. That was because this team was in crazy garbage uh time the entire season. And then even
10:27when they weren't in garbage time, they were still number one in neutral pass rate. I just find that hard to believe
10:32happening again with the floor on the sticks. You add Jeremiah Love to the back field. I think it's going to be a
10:38more balanced offense. I don't think they're going to do the PPR scam here.
10:42And Arizona is still 31st in projected points per game. That feels a little bit light to me. They're only ahead of the
10:48New York Jets. But the difference between the Jets and the Cardinals is the Jets have one pass catcher drafted in the top 160 picks in fantasy. The
10:57Cardinals have three in the top 90. So the target competition versus the projected touchdowns. I think that that math's hard to kind of square away. Uh
11:05McBride's literally one of my favorite players in the entire NFL. If he falls to 34th somewhere over there, I'm gonna draft him for sure. The 25th overall
11:14ADP. I just I think that's, you know, buying the top.
11:16>> We all like to project which bottom offense by the markets is going to outperform that considerably. All the chips and all the draft picks are in the
11:26position of the Cardinals. I kind of want to be in the side of the New York Jets with uh Garrett Wilson and Bruce
11:31Hall of this versus everyone else on on the Cardinals. So, um maybe that's wrong, maybe it's right. We'll see.
11:37Yeah. I mean, you mentioned the next closest pass catcher was what, 63 routes. The next closest tight end for Tre McBry was 120 routes. That's three
11:44games, >> four games, >> you know. So, >> with with that said, >> if he would got 120 extra routes in
11:53comparison like that he did last year, that would be an end of the round one two turn player, you know? Uh, right now
11:59he's going in the two three turn. So, we're already getting somewhat of a discount on it, but I I I totally
12:04understand. And to me, it goes back to the Drew Pettingness of it all, too. Of focusing on tight ends as the primary
12:09read. Anyone else from round three you want to bring up?
12:12>> Yeah, Rashi Rice still working his way back from a second surgery to his knee.
12:16I think that's like maybe kind of like we forgot about that because, you know, he was in jail for 30 days. But right
12:22before we learned that he was going to jail, we did learn that he had to have a cleanup procedure on that knee. And then
12:28I think since then, I haven't just like noticed that he's just like back to himself. Uh the Chiefs reporter Nate Taylor believes that even getting 900
12:35yards for a she rice is asking too much after watching him. Um and I just think that that role that he's had that little
12:42spread shotgun uh get the ball out quickly yards after the catch role. One, if he's not up to speed, there's no
12:49reason to be doing that. Number two, I don't think they're going to be doing that because Patrick Mahomes gonna be playing in a new offense because Kenneth
12:54Walker is gonna be doing a whole lot more under center. Plus, you have all the weirdness with Rashi Rice off the
13:00field. So, I never thought he was like some elite player. I think that he might be the worst real life wide receiver
13:05that gets drafted anywhere in this range. Um, not good against man coverage, really explosive uh in zone and in like the scramble drill. I'm not
13:14sure if we're going to get that styled offense as much this year.
13:17>> All right, take us to round four.
13:18>> This was a tough tough one for me. I have Joe Bros, the last pick on Yahoo um in round four. I didn't really have
13:26anything negative to say about this entire round. It feels like a really strong round this year. Uh you can draft Joe Burrow, I guess, in the fifth round
13:33if you have, you know, Jamar Chase, but that's like only in half PPR. And I think I would rather just wait. There's
13:40some of these like expert drafts, you know, and uh some of the higher stake stuff. Joe Burrow will go like round
13:46seven, round eight, round nine. And I think, you know, maybe we're overthinking that, like the quote unquote experts here, but I do think
13:53that there's still some wide receivers, uh, a Coulson Lovelin falling, taking a swing on like a DeAndre Swift at running back. All those guys are much better
14:01picks in round four than going with, uh, a statue quarterback. He's been the the um, quarterback five um, since 2022, but
14:10the entire top 20 at quarterback is within three and a half points from that. So, I would rather just do double
14:15up quarterbacks way later on and try to beat uh the rest of my league in the flex.
14:20>> The next wide receiver names that span across the entire fifth round after Joe Burrow are on Yahoo are Garrett Wilson,
14:26Terry McCorin, Devonte Adams, Luther Burton, and DJ Moore.
14:30>> Yeah, fun names.
14:31>> Yeah, fun. Very, very, very fun names.
14:34Um, yeah, there are certain rounds where I like every single pick >> and then there are other rounds where I want to completely abandon that and not
14:42take a single player. And yeah, round four, like going halfway through round three, too, to me is like the real sweet
14:48spot in this year.
14:49>> It's nice.
14:50>> Speaking of our our draft again on Tuesday, it's going to be a big deal.
14:52It's going to be streamed live, by the way, on the Yahoo Fantasy channel here on on YouTube. Um, are you happy with
14:58the 109? I'm I love the 110. Yeah, I'm gonna have to, you know, reach on one of the running backs in the first round.
15:04So, we'll see which one I'm going to do that with. Uh, but I do like how the board plays at the 34 turn and then I
15:10usually can get the wide rece a wide receiver that I like in round five to kind of fall to me. So, it's a good spot
15:15to to be in this year. Jir Gibbs is still terrifying to me and like Puka like these guys at the top like but the
15:22round two three turn is a lot hits a lot different than the the top, you know, the top 10 running backs at the one two
15:28turn. I mean, you know this. Uh, two of the running backs that you really want will will not be getting back to you at
15:33the 204.
15:34>> Well, maybe I take one that I want in front of you.
15:36>> I know. Well, I I'm I'm thrilled with this spot. Yeah, Joel Smith has the 101.
15:41Uh, so we'll see. All right. Join us for that. By the way, round five.
15:46>> All right. Two running backs here, David Montgomery and Bucky Irving. Uh, David Montgomery, I think you're first of all, have you you have to overcome like the
15:54wear and tear. I mean, he's been a bellcow for a very very long time. Uh, and he's kind of reaching like the the
16:01spot where we've seen other running backs kind of fall off a cliff. And I think as you look at the Texans since CJ
16:06Straans have been there, the Texans are 31st in EPA per carry, 22nd in rush yards per game. Uh, just not good
16:13enough. Uh, Joe Mixon was able to get home, but Joe Mixon was Joe Mixon before this. Like David Montgomery is just like
16:19not Joe Mixon. Uh and then also the Texans gave him a whole lot more money uh in that season rather than what
16:27they've done with the David Montgomery contract. If you look at it in the 2023 and 2025 seasons, the Texans did not
16:34have a running back inside the top 34 uh on a per game basis. Woody Marks is going to his second season. Seems like
16:41he's like improving as a rusher. I didn't like his tape as a rookie if I'm being completely honest, but he can
16:47catch passes. He can pass protect. He stood out in the preseason games. He seems to be making noise in training camp. It's not going to be a 5050
16:55backfield, but let's say it's a 6238 backfield. I'm not sure if I want the 62% uh of the Texans offensive line.
17:02They're starting an out of position rookie center. I think three potentially washed veterans. They keep changing the offensive line, but they don't actually
17:11like really invested uh into it in a way that makes me feel confident. Plus David Montgomery coming off uh one of his
17:17worst uh seasons in missed tackles per touch rate.
17:20>> We covered this in the 15 rankings changes we made after preseason week two that to me this Texans backfield is one
17:27of the most underdised storylines out there especially when you're talking about Dave Montgomery being a early and I mean the second pick of the fifth
17:34round uh selection and it's because this is the dead zone profile to a team that has bit us in past years. Um, Dave
17:43Montgomery was great with the Lions, but he's coming off technically his worst season with less volume. So, you're not drafting him because of age. You're not
17:51drafting him necessarily because of explosiveness. You're not drafting him because of the great offensive line that he's going behind. It might be good, but
17:57they're still shuffling. And in fact, one of their offensive line that paid a two-year $20 million contract to got card off of practice today,
18:03unfortunately. Uh, and then you're going with a play caller that we just don't know if he can install a running game
18:08successfully yet for this team. Plus, Woody Marks emerging, too. So, like you're saying, if it's 55 or 60% to 40 or 45%, that is a much different
18:19conversation than uh for a guy that to me the crux of the conversation is all about the volume that he's going to have
18:26this season.
18:27>> Yeah, I didn't even see the Braden Smith. That's the right tackle. Um that that would be a big deal if if the cart
18:31means he's out for extended time. And then quickly on Bucky Irving, uh he was 65th in rush yards over expected, 64th
18:38in EPA per carry out of 66 qualifying running backs last year. He was playing through injury, but he also just did not
18:44seem like he was like quite as explosive. And you always just go back to that that rookie season that he had,
18:50but that was with Liam Cohen, who he knows awesome. And that Bucks offense was fourth in scoring at 29 points per
18:56game. Tampa Bay is 18th in projected points at 23. So, like a full touchdown is coming off the board and versus that
19:02season that he went crazy with. He's getting squeezed by Kenneth Gainwell through the air. That's a two-year $14 million contract. Kenny Gainwell's a
19:10pros pro. And then we'll see about the goal line touches after coming back from shoulder and foot injuries in week 13.
19:17Bucky Irving did not have a goal line carry. Shawn Tucker had six of them.
19:20Even Rashad White had one of them inside the 5 yard line there. We'll see if that sticks. The fact that I even have to
19:26mention that is a little bit scary for a fifth rounder. Tampa Bay's offensive line is good that rookie season that Bucky Irving was playing. He was very
19:34good. So, he is one of these guys like there is like theoretical upside here. I just think that we're trying to overcome
19:39a lot and we're also talking about 195 pound rusher who wants like finish on contact with a shoulder injury history.
19:46So, um I I'm there just too many red flags for me in this early.
19:50>> Can I admit something? I think Bucky Irving in my mind is one of the players that has risen up the most this month.
19:57Um, however, it is tough to move him up higher in rankings because I like Judarian Price, I like Bashel Tuton, and
20:05then it's, you know, in draft Montgomery and Quinch Jun drafted ahead of him along with Cam Scataboo. Um, >> yeah, >> I can see though how Bucky Irving, his
20:13running back 23 years, the seventh pick of the fifth round, has a great season.
20:18We're already kind of hearing some of that where Kenny Gainwell is just a pass catcher. You might hear about him in my
20:23episode and version of this. Um Sean Tucker has gotten some reports they might not make the roster and this offensive line is awesome. So like I can
20:33see a pathway as someone who really liked Bucky heading into the league, how this really pays off. Uh, but at the
20:40same time, because of all the wide receivers, not to mention some of the running backs I just mentioned, that might not reflect itself in the rankings
20:46or the drafting that I have this month.
20:49Does that make sense?
20:50>> No. Yeah, he's got there. I I see the pathway for upside. I just like the other players going around him more,
20:56particularly the wide receivers. Like I I would rather like, you know, continue to to go into the running backs with the
21:02Travis Hands and, you know, you like Kairen Williams. like I'm still like those three four uh running backs too where at a certain point I have to stop
21:10taking running backs and I do like a lot of those uh fifth round wide receivers.
21:14>> I've got some exciting news for you Bills fans or if you just live in the Buffalo area and watch our show. Yes,
21:22Yahoo Fantasy Draft Weekend presented by Ver is coming to Dicks House of Sport in the Buffalo area. That is this Saturday,
21:30August 29th, 3 to 7 p.m. I will be there. Justin Boone will be there and the wide receiver guru Matt Harmon will
21:38be there as well for a special live edition of the Yahoo fantasy forecast.
21:43We're going to break down everything that you need to know for your fantasy draft. We're going to answer your questions. And again, it's going to be a
21:48live show for you all to sit in and watch and listen to and contribute to.
21:52Plus, we'll give away some free things along the way. So, if you're getting ready for your draft, this is the place
21:58to be. Bring your league mates, bring your friends, your fiance, your dog, whatever. Come hang out with us. We'll see you in Amherst, New York this
22:06Saturday, August 29th at 3 p.m. Next up is round six. Uh you have one you have one name, a clear name for you here.
22:15>> One one name, Trayvon Henderson, uh drafted him only 2% of the time and I don't remember drafting those 2% of the
22:20time. That might have been, you know, a ghost picks there. Um when Raandre and Henderson were both healthy inside the 5
22:26yard yard line carries went 12 to4 obviously in favor of Raandre when they were both healthy in the four games in
22:32the NFL playoffs. Raandre 11.6 half PPR points. Tayvon 3.4 fantasy points per game. That's when they're trying to win a dang Super Bowl.
22:42So there's a huge gap that he has to overcome this off season. I haven't been reading anything very positive about Tayvon Henderson's off seasonason. I'm
22:50expecting him to get a little bit better. I'm not expecting him to be better than Raandre Stevenson, who's like 245 pounds at the goal line or in
22:57pass protection. Those are two pretty big areas because uh Raandre Stevenson would get there in like the two-minute drill uh and catch some passes. Beyond
23:05that, Raandre is like pretty underrated in general. Like for example, last year NextGen stats, their tracking data had Raandre with the best rush yards over
23:14expected in the NFL. So Trayvon could obviously be the guy that you needed if Randre goes down or fumbles multiple times, but I can say that about Blake
23:23Cororm, Kyle Manungai, Tank Bsby, Mike Washington. Those guys go five rounds later, you know? So I just don't want to take like a who I view kind of like a
23:32contingent-based uh bet in the sixth round. To me, I just I'm looking at other names and I can do that in round
23:38eight, nine, 10.
23:39>> Yeah. Just on Yahoo specifically, Trevan Henderson is the first pick of the sixth round and Randre Stevenson is the second
23:45pick of the seventh round. Uh let's just say I'll have more to say about this name too on my version of this episode
23:50on on Sunday.
23:51>> There we go.
23:52>> All right, round seven. Some interesting names here, Hayden. The first one all the way down at 1% of the time is, you
24:00know, just the fourth overall pick in the NFL draft.
24:02>> Yeah, I'm not drafting Carnell Tate. I looked at it. The Titans are the team I've drafted collectively the least. Uh,
24:09and I feel good about that. Uh, I liked Carnell Tate as a prospect, but I will admit, uh, he is not like the type of
24:16wide receiver that like typically goes like inside the top five. Like there's he is nowhere near like the Jamar Chase level guys. So, um, I think that he
24:24could be like a Calvin Ridley, DeAndre Hopkins if he like really continues to develop, Jeremy Mlin. Um, but we're talking about a 21-year-old early
24:33declare who's going to need some more development. And then the Cam Ward side of this stuff, it makes me really nervous. It might be the worst offensive
24:40line in the NFL. Cam Ward was not good behind it last year. Titans were 30th in scoring, 30th in pass yards per game.
24:46The preseason games have not been great for Cam Ward or anybody. Uh, you know, Carnell Tate's gone catchless on 25 routes, for example. Um, and then I look
24:56look at the tape and it just seems like they're going to do like the RPO quick game nonsense to Wel Robinson this
25:01entire season. So, it's just a lot to overcome. uh car I'll take Cam Ward could just be so good um and they reach
25:08their ceiling and I'll take the L here but it's it's a lot to get right and I just don't trust Dball with that
25:14offensive line.
25:14>> Could this be the end of the road for Brian Dball in the NFL? I mean we're saying that before week one even kicks
25:19off.
25:19>> Well, >> but it it really might be.
25:22>> Yeah. Some people say he's a a Josh Allen merchant.
25:25>> Oh, all right.
25:27>> Not me. I would never say that. You know, you would like to think that you can funnel targets and receptions in the
25:33direction of Carninal Tate, but if he's a pure outside wide receiver, that can be difficult from an offensive line blocking standpoint uh and maybe a
25:41quarterback who's basically in his rookie year all over again.
25:45>> Cardinal Tate's kind of like Marv in that he's going to be a good player, but he's going to be tasked with
25:53>> But those are fighting words coming from you. I mean, that is you buried him saying that. it it's he's gonna have to
25:59be in the most difficult position and I can't say that Carninal Tate is like >> absolutely with like rocket ships where
26:06you have to manufacture touches for him.
26:08>> My god, you loved Carninal Tate in the draft process and here we are >> on August 26th where the headline the
26:15quote is I mean we pull quotes from players and coaches all the time.
26:19>> Carell Tate is kind of like Marv period.
26:23>> I mean is that do you disagree?
26:27Um, other than Parker Washington, do you like any of the wide receivers going in round seven here for Onyahoo? It's Marv,
26:33it's Tate, it's Brian Thomas Jr., DK Metaf, and then it's Alec Pierce, Jordan Tyson after that.
26:41>> I don't like anybody in round seven. I I could >> Yeah, I've not seen a I've not been in a
26:46draft where Parker Washington goes in round seven in a long time, but uh I'm glad that you guys could could do that.
26:52Jaylen Warren is also a round seven pick on Yahoo. So, you have to get past him to get to Parker Washington. Let's put
26:57it that way.
26:58>> Uh, round eight. Oh, no. You have another name here in round seven.
27:01>> Yeah, Jonathan Brooks. I'm not doing the the round seven, round six Jonathan Brooks stuff. Uh, it's too much to overcome. Multiple ACL tears, almost
27:08zero NFL experience. You know, they're the price tag is now assuming he's going to be the Panthers starter. Uh, not even
27:15sure we want the Panthers starter if it's going to be a version of the committee. You know, they're projected for 20.8 points per game. that's 26. Uh
27:23they have like in theory they could have a good offensive line, but it's a lot of guys coming back from injuries and like
27:28new faces that that type of thing. Uh in the last playoff game, Chuba Hover scored two touchdowns on 17 touches.
27:34Like people kind of forget about that because Rico Dattle got hot in the middle of the season, but by the end of
27:38it, it was back to Chuba. And then in 2024, Chuba Huard was the RB12 and RB7 usage. He was RB4 and rush yards over
27:46expected. During that season, they signed him to a 4-year $33 million extension. He's been a team captain for games before. The the coaching staff
27:53does like him. I think that the bar to pass uh Chuba Hubard is higher than other people are leading on. And then in
28:00the preseason, this matters to me the least. I've not seen like, you know, the next coming of a great running back.
28:06He's missed some some pass protection stuff. I think that his cutting and and overall athleticism, it's not standing out to me. It's not like I'm writing him
28:14off. Uh but just too many things have to go right here to get the Panthers starting running back. Uh I'm fine
28:19missing out. Yeah, I that that's very fair that they want this backfield to be a split backfield basically. I >> agree. Um and you know, Rico went off
28:26for the 200 plus yard games when uh it wasn't a split backfield at all and Chuba Hopper was dealing with injuries.
28:31So yeah, I mean the only thing with this team is they run the football when they're good at it and they're bad at it
28:34and they might be bad at it for quite a bit at this point.
28:38>> Round eight, you have two names here.
28:40Give it to me.
28:40>> Yeah, Rico Doubt is a 1% player. I I've weirdly talked about, you know, Jaylen Warren 400 times, so I think I'll I'll
28:46I'll, you know, stop uh going into that.
28:49This is where I have George KD as as a fade in round eight. Now, if he goes later than than this, like I'm to
28:55totally open to this, especially when you have like your Jawan Johnson, Isaiah Likely, uh Daltton Schultz, like these type of guys kind of coming on where you
29:02could, you know, buy some time with George KD. I think if he you're getting into round eight, you're kind of expecting George KD to to matter early
29:09on. and you know he's almost 33 years old and he had his his Achilles surgery on July 14th of this year. Now he's been
29:17the outlier. He can do it again. Um but >> January 14th. You said July.
29:22>> Yeah. Yeah. That would be Now that would be that would be insane.
29:25>> That would be that would be quite the return. Uh January 14th. I think most likely he's out there in week two and
29:31he's not a full-time player and they're easing him into the season. And at some point we're going to have to, you know,
29:36uh say that the snap counts are high enough where we actually trust him. Uh, and he's been somebody that has not, you
29:42know, gotten home like Travis Kelce who were like, "All right, this is another nine target game." His comes in the variety of like, I'm getting six targets
29:48per game and I'm just the best player ever to do it. And if we don't get that exact level of explosiveness coming off
29:54an Achilles tear, then you start to worry about the volume and the numbers kind of mattering. So later on than this, totally fine with it. I'm not
30:02expecting him to be like a top 10 tight end uh until way later in the season.
30:06And you know, we're dealing with somebody coming back from a torn. You never know what happens after that.
30:11>> Yeah. If if tuned yesterday's episode, you know that hey and I disagree on George KD. Uh we won't rehash that here
30:17today. You can just go back and watch that episode. Uh it is the 10 players that we disagree on most in drafts this
30:22year. And I think that was a really quality discussion from start to finish last year. I know people are liking it.
30:27So go and watch that if you want more of the positive end of George KD. you know, a guy that's finished as top five tight
30:33end points per game over the last eight straight seasons.
30:36>> Uh, okay, round nine. Let's close it out. You still have two names here. Uh, and one of them might just be the best
30:43quarterback of his generation.
30:45>> I was speaking of players that just have been awesome forever. Uh, Chris Godwin and Patrick Mahomes. Um, let's start with uh Patrick Mahomes, get this one
30:54just kind of out of the way. He was the quarterback 10 from 2023 and 2024. that was with this exact uh flawed
31:01passcatching group that he still has. Uh it was not his fault, but he was only the quarterback 10. And then last year,
31:08he comes back and he scrambles his way to a careerhigh 30 rushing yards per game. The rest of the quarterback uh top
31:1510 list is on injured reserve. He has an actual quality season. That type of season, I don't think is on the table
31:22coming off a torn ACL, especially when you add Kenneth Walker. I would be surprised if his uh uh scramble yards are even like half of what they were
31:32last year. And I don't think we're going to go back to the Chiefs offense where they were leading the league in pass
31:37attempts. I just don't think that's exactly what they want to do. The interior offensive line is too powerful.
31:43Mahomes coming off this injury. They finally have a running back that Andy Reid could rely on. Uh, and then just you can never trust this receiving core.
31:52Like whatever we're calling Rashi Rice, Xavier Worthy, and Travis, uh, Kelsey at this age, it's just not good enough. So, uh, if I'm not drafting Rasheed Rice,
32:01I'm trying to stack my quarterbacks in this range. And for those kind of like, you know, pushing Mahomes up, I just
32:07think there's no reason to do that when, you know, Jared Goff, Malik Willis, Kyler Murray, all these guys, pick any of them. I don't even care which one. I
32:15just don't think there's a reason to be pushing Mahomes up the board.
32:18>> Yeah. Yeah, if you look at last season, all quarterbacks that started at least 10 games, Patrick Mahomes was fourth in
32:25rushing yards per game at 30.1. That's more than Lamar Jackson, Drake May, and Jaylen Herz had in rushing yards per game.
32:35>> And then if you go over to rushing touchdowns, like you said, uh he was fifth in total across the league. Uh,
32:42and that was only in 14 games played versus the guys ahead of him had 16, 17, 14, and 17 games played
32:48>> without the sneak. Like that's because he was scrambling. Like do you are you expecting to scramble and for touchdowns this year?
32:53>> No, no, no. That's what I'm saying. I'm accentuating your point here that exactly that type of ceiling because Patrick Mahomes in the passing, you
33:01know, is awesome always even if he doesn't have, you know, people around him. uh the ceiling then kind of gets unlocked for someone like him when you
33:09have the rushing aspect of it and uh I just don't expect that to continue this year at all.
33:14>> Yeah, agree with that. Uh and then last one, Chris Godwin, this is just watching Chris Godwin last year and then um watching Amecha Igbuka,
33:25I just think we're the the transition is here. Amecha is going to be the guy that they're going to uh center the pass game
33:31through underneath uh over the middle.
33:34Chris Godman's a slot only player to me at this point and he has to just be way better than what he was last year. Uh I
33:41thought he was dropping passes in contested catch situations, but it wasn't just that. Uh and I'll I'll go over to to Matt Harmon's reception
33:48perception right here.
33:50>> He had a sixth percentile rating against zone coverage last year, a 16th percentile rating against man coverage.
33:56Like that is nowhere near where Chris Godwin has typically been. And if you look at the success rate uh chart that
34:03he has, there's a lot more red than there is green and yellow there. Um so could he bounce back as a 30-year-old?
34:09It's possible, but that's a lot of injuries that he's had, the ankle, the ACL. Uh and I think a mechan can do a
34:16lot of the stuff that prime Chris Godwin was able to do. Um so I I've been fading him.
34:22>> Chris Godwin is one of those names that I have no idea what to do with this summer. Zero. Like on the positive end,
34:28I could say, "Hey, he was coming back after signing that big deal from a dislocated ankle and he just didn't heal
34:33correctly as we have seen with other people."
34:36>> Um, and most likely has a turf toe and that can linger on and on.
34:43>> Uh, and so could Chris Godwin like theoretically lead this team in receiving this year? I that is a small possibility, but I think it's a
34:50possibility.
34:51>> Yes. But on the opposite end, he looked like garbage last year, you know, like his hands weren't even close to as good
34:57and consistent as they were in in previous seasons along with everything that that you brought up. So like again, kind of comes to these veterans where
35:06we've seen the best from them, we've seen the worst from them, and our brains then don't know which side of that to
35:11choose. Even if like maybe there isn't a side to choose, and it's just right down the middle, we get a little bit of both
35:16all season long. So yeah, Chris Godwin again, when I go through all my rankings, I have no idea. My brain freezes if I know to move him up or if I
35:24move him down.
35:25>> I'm kind of he's he's in a range where like I could draft him just when whenever I'm on the clock, I I'll go
35:31Josh DS, I'll go Jordan, I go Matthew Golden over him. Um this also like a decent range to find quarterbacks instead of wide receivers. Like if I'm
35:40double clicking quarterbacks and advising everyone else to do that, like round 9, 10, 11 is like the range to be doing that. So, I'm usually saving a
35:48bullet or two for for other positions um as well. So, yeah, we'll see. It just was not the same player last year. If he
35:55comes back, awesome. Uh I've been loading up on Amecha Buuka a whole lot more. Um hopefully uh the toe injury doesn't bite me.
36:03>> All right, that does it. That's a lot of names in 35 minutes. Hopefully you enjoyed that episode. Uh tomorrow Hayden
36:10has some guests on some familiar faces and uh you know Sam Sherman who just won a whole big tournament in uh you know
36:17fantasy football history last year and Jacob Sanderson who's on this channel too. So uh both those guys are excellent. They've done great work for
36:24us in the past and they're going to join Hayden here on the channel tomorrow's episode and then uh on Sunday we'll have
36:30my fades of the season and then next week we kick things off with uh our final rankings for each position as we
36:37head into the biggest week of drafting out there for fantasy football.
36:42>> Speaking of rankings, I've got my kicker solo video dropping uh sometime this weekend. Uh I actually did some research. Uh you know, don't haze me.
36:50>> There he is. And again, keep in mind, Tuesday, an expert three-hour live draft. Uh, that's next Tuesday. And then, uh, I know the ad roll during this
36:59episode, but this Saturday, if you're in the Buffalo or Niagara area of, uh, let's say the world, uh, myself, Matt Harmon, and Justin Boon will be at
