0:35Training camp is underway. It is in full force.
0:38The storylines are unfolding, and we do want to remind you that if we go back to look, at least four new
0:45teams have made the playoffs for 36 straight games.
0:48That means there's hope in New York, in Cleveland, in Tennessee, in New Orleans, in some places that have been through some hard football times.
0:56In each of the last 36 NFL seasons, at least four new teams have made the playoffs.
1:02And each week there'll be storylines that tell you which teams are ascending, which teams are descending, and we're going to get into that.

1:28We did it. I mean, we talked about it last week.
1:32We had a couple teams reporting, and, you know, we knew, hey, it's right around the corner.
1:38And like you said, that's what today is, at least as a fan, I think, you know, for all the fans out there, hope springs eternal.
1:46Like you said, anyone could make the playoffs. You got multiple new players, new faces, or people who maybe didn't have the
1:54best year last year who you have high hopes and expectations for.
1:58So I'm thrilled, ecstatic, excited, whatever other superlative you can come up with, that the NFL season is, I'm going to call it, it's here.
2:06It is upon us. Well, and it's an amazing thing because it comes together quickly.
2:11Like we said, 26 teams reported on Tuesday. We mentioned, again, the hope that comes along with the stat that we trotted
2:18out there about there being at least four new teams.
2:22And each day, there will be different storylines that change the course of the season.
2:27There are coaches and general managers holding press conferences.
2:29There are events unfolding. I think of the fact yesterday, Monday morning, there were tragic stories unfolding that we'll get to on this podcast.
2:37There were new stories developing. And this is what happens in training camp.
2:42And Ty, from my standpoint, when every team is in training camp, it's all live.
2:47It's all possible. Like you're going to hear about changes on the depth chart.
2:51You're going to hear about injuries while at practice.
2:54Somebody's favorite player is going to get hurt. We're going to go down.
2:59We're going to be tracking that injury. There are going to be players who are unhappy with their current situations that now come to light.
3:07There'll be players, I believe, that will wind up holding in.
3:11They reported to training camp today or in recent days.
3:14And then, all of a sudden, they won't be practicing because they've got contractitis.
3:19That happens too, Ty. It's all underway right now with all 32 teams in camp.
3:24And now we can start, again, seeing what actually does.
3:27Let's go back to last summer for a moment, right?
3:30When everybody reported, everybody assumed that Micah Parsons just would be getting a new deal from the Dallas Cowboys.
3:37And I remember doing our weekly 6 a.m. get up production meeting call.
3:41And literally, there was a day in which the topic of the show we're going to leave with, okay, what it's going
3:48to be like when Dallas re-signs Micah Parsons. And I said, hold on.
3:53Why are we saying that they're re-signing him? They might not be re-signing him.
3:57He's not happy with the way things go. We don't know where this is going to go.
4:03And it was about this time last year that happened.
4:06My point to you is, I'll bet you there are more things that are going to unfold like that in the days to come.

5:08Okay, well with that in mind, Schefter, let's go to topic number one of the six-pack.
5:14You mentioned it. All 32 teams are in camp by the end of today.
5:18In terms of just kind of like a broad view, like what is your biggest takeaway from today?
5:24What are you looking for, whether it's today, this week?
5:28Like how do you want to frame this and how are you thinking about camps officially starting today?
5:34Well, again, I think it's a lot of things we just covered.
5:38It's the hope for the new teams. It's the start of a new season.
5:42It's the storylines that unfold. It's, from my standpoint, the babysitting that's done.
5:46Now we've got 32 teams, 32 kids to look in on to make sure that nothing's going wrong.
5:52Nobody's misbehaving. Nobody's getting in trouble. There aren't any incidents.
5:56Right? Like that's what it is. Ty, you got little kids, right?
6:00Yeah, I do. Yep. I get it. You're constantly babysitting, right?
6:03Yep, pretty much. My kids will grow, but I'm still babysitting.
6:07Yeah. No, and you mentioned it, Shepty. Like we kind of, this happens every single year where we kind of have that
6:14lull or, you know, nothing is really said. We have that kind of two weeks where everyone's kind of on vacation.
6:21But then you come back and, you know, someone not being happy with their contract gets a little bit louder.
6:28We have the injury. I mean, and it happens instantaneously.
6:31We can act like, you know, hey, it's training camp.
6:35You know, we've been here before. We understand how this goes.
6:38But every year really does present new problems and new circumstances for every single team.
6:43So I can understand. I mean, this is, I don't know where this would rank in terms of your busiest times of year.
6:51But like you said, I mean, you're kind of in it now.
6:55And again, we're going to get to this in topic.

7:35Then you have the Kyle Shanahan car accident. Then on Sunday, I'm starting to get texts about a shooting at Eric Bien-Ami's house in Virginia.
7:43We got the commanders firing their tight ends coach, which happens as they're getting training camp underway.
7:49You never see teams fire coaches on the eve of training camp.
7:53There are all sorts of things going on, and I think we're just getting started here, Ty.
7:59It's going to be a long year. I think you're right.
8:02All right, Chet, you mentioned it there. Let's move into topic number two of this week's six-pack.
8:08The whole Eric Bien-Ami situation with his wife being shot, which then we found out that it was his son.
8:15And luckily, I believe, last I checked, she is in stable condition.
8:19But what more can you tell us about that whole situation and how the Chiefs are handling it and just kind of
8:26what to expect from that moving forward? This is a really troubling, disturbing story on so many different levels, right?
8:33You have the wife of the Chiefs offensive coordinator, Mia Bien-Ami, being shot multiple times in the chest and arms and her
8:40now being in the latest stable condition in the hospital.
8:43And obviously, thoughts and prayers are with her, and you really hope everything works out.
8:48The details come out that she shot, and I'll tell you a little bit about that in a moment.
8:55And then it emerges like an hour later that they have Eric Bien-Ami's son in custody, and he has been arrested in connection to that shooting.
9:03Now, again, I don't even know how you wrap your mind around something like that, and there is way more about this
9:10that we don't know right now than we actually do know.
9:14We know the macro details to this. We don't know the micro detail.
9:18What could lead a son to shoot his mother?
9:21And, I mean, we're not even going to venture there.
9:25But from a football standpoint, because training camps are underway today, the Chiefs went out and hired Eric Bien-Ami to revive their run game.
9:33Eric Bien-Ami was not at camp on Monday. He's gone.
9:36When is he going to be back? Is he going to be back?
9:40Right? Like, his wife is in stable condition. He has to take care of her.
9:45His son is in jail, or he's been arrested for allegedly being involved in this shooting.
9:51So how do you do that? Right? Like, there are so many elements to this that you don't know how that's going to impact him.
9:59So there are many unanswered questions. Now, I will say this.
10:03There's always some interest and curiosity about how these things come to light.
10:07On Sunday night, I was in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
10:10I was about to be a part of a charity fundraising golf tournament on Monday in Plymouth, Michigan for the University of Michigan.
10:18It's athletic program. And I started getting emails from a random viewer, reader, listener, whatever you want to call him.
10:24And he started texting me. And you get a lot of this sometimes about how there was a shooting at Eric Bien-Ami's house in Virginia.
10:33And at first, you don't know, like, is this guy crazy or not?
10:37So my attention was captured. My antenna was. I said, please keep me posted.
10:41Thank you. And then he sends along. He's listening to the police scanner.
10:46He sends me along more information. Then he sends me along three different emails filled with information.
10:51And by that point, it was about 10 o'clock at night, 1030 at night.
10:56I had to be very early the next morning.
10:59I took all the information. I sent it over to Nate Taylor, our fine chief's nation report.
11:05I said, Nate, it sounds like there was a shooting at Eric Bien-Ami's house in Virginia.
11:10I don't know who or what it involves. It doesn't sound great.
11:14Please check up on this and keep me posted.
11:17And lo and behold, the next morning, it comes out that his wife has been shot.
11:22That was a very strange thing to get all that information from somebody who just reached out blindly from the outside, who stumbled upon it.
11:31And like I always say, information comes from a lot of different places.
11:35But in this particular place, somebody was thought to share that information with me.
11:40And I thank that individual. And obviously, we would hope it was never true, that none of this ever happened.
11:46Tragic story. Obviously, our thoughts and prayers are with Mia Bien-Ami.
11:50We hope everything works out well with her. But boy, what a crazy, wild story to have training camp open with.
11:57Yeah, no kidding. And obviously, thank God she's up.

12:19All season long. Okay. Okay. But like you said, in terms of Eric Bien-Ami, like when do you go back?
12:26You know, I mean, that's, it's a little, you know, the family dynamic there is hard to grasp.
12:32It's hard to wrap your head around. I'm sure the Chiefs are, you know, take as much time as you need.
12:39But who knows? In a situation like that, maybe it is, you know, easier just going back to normalcy.
12:45But again, that's just, you can't even begin to try to think of what, how you respond to that.
12:51How, how you move on from that. But we did know, you know, from all the Chiefs players we had talked to
12:59this past season on Pat's show, like they were, they were ecstatic that Eric Bien-Ami was back.
13:04So he obviously has a lot of support from the team and from those guys, but just a, just a terrible, terrible situation all around.
13:13And thank God it's not worse than, you know, what, what it is.
13:17Correct. Correct. So we'll keep an eye on that and who knows what comes next.
13:22But, and like you said, kudos to that unnamed person for kind of getting ahead of that and getting you that information.
13:29Man, just, just tragic, just terrible. Tough to think about.
13:33All right, Shepty, let's move on to topic number three of this week's six pack.
13:38You mentioned it. Another kind of crazy situation. Kyle Shanahan gets in a car accident and I don't know if it wasn't
13:45reported or, you know, we didn't, we just didn't hear about it, but it comes out yesterday or a couple days ago
13:52that it was a very serious car accident. Yeah.
13:55But I think he had 40 stitches, multiple broken ribs, a broken hand.
13:59And he's going to be, I don't know, sidelines is the right word, but he's not going to be as involved in
14:07training camp as he would in the past. What can you tell us about that?
14:12Well, essentially he's in concussion protocol without being in concussion protocol.
14:15And just like players have to go through protocol and pass through various stages before doctors sign off on allowing them to return to practice.
14:24Really the same is true here for Kyle Shanahan.
14:27And they don't know how long he's going to be sidelined after what was a significant car accident.
14:33Now, Kyle Shanahan's good college friend, Chris Sims on NBC reported that Kyle Shanahan nearly lost his eye, which I just heard about recently in this particular accident.
14:42And we know some of the other injuries that we reported on Saturday about what happened.
14:47But this was a serious accident and it came at a very quiet time of the NFL year where most people are away.
14:55And thankfully, Kyle Shanahan is going to be okay.
14:58And thankfully, the other driver of the other vehicle also was not injured.
15:02Now, again, spoke to police and police said that alcohol and drugs were not a part of the accident, that nobody was cited.
15:10And again, we know the injuries that occurred. So this was one of those cases that could have been worse.
15:17Now we'll wait to see when Kyle Shanahan will be able to resume coaching.
15:21And again, John Lynch, the 49ers general manager, said that he believes Kyle should be ready to get on a plane to
15:29go to Melbourne, Australia for the Rams opening game against the Los Angeles Rams, which is how the 49ers opened the season
15:36with about as tough an assignment as you could have.
15:39But even he could not guarantee that that would happen because we don't know how people progress through concussion injuries and protocol like situations.
15:47So I think that they're hopeful that they'll ramp him back up and get involved.
15:52Well, they've appointed Chris Forrester as their basically acting head coach with more contributions from their coordinators.
15:58Clay Kubiak on the offensive side of the football, Clint Kubiak's brother and Raheem Mars.
16:03Again, that turns out to be a big addition.
16:06Now, bringing him back to San Francisco because of his head coaching experience in Atlanta.
16:11He's the 49ers defensive coordinator. So they have reinforcements there.
16:14But there are people that obviously knew that if this were worse, they wondered, you know, what could have happened to Kyle
16:21if it would have taken away his appetite and desire to coach again.
16:26Like, it was a serious accident. And thankfully, the other passenger was OK.
16:30Kyle Shanahan, not as OK, but OK enough here that he could escape without major, major injuries.
16:36And now, again, in another crazy story where the Chiefs have new coaches on their offense now, the 49ers have like players
16:43and teams are going to camp today. And we all already have these different, tragic, unfortunate, wild situations unfolding across the league.
16:50Yeah. Like you mentioned, I mean, I would have to assume that if you lose your eye, I mean, I don't know how much coaching you can do.
17:00You know, I mean, he's calling plays. You have to be that definitely changes the way you see the game and all that kind of stuff.
17:08And I guess that's the other part of it is, you know, certain coaches in the NFL are kind of more of the CEOs.
17:16They're overseeing everything. You wonder they have a lot of new pieces on offense, too.
17:21And he obviously is very hands on, very involved.
17:24So no matter how much time he loses here, you know, that's maybe a little bit more impactful than some of these
17:31other teams whose head coach isn't their offensive play caller or defensive play caller.
17:36I mean, you know, it makes a big difference.
17:39And, yeah, I mean, I don't know. It almost – it's early.
17:43Thank God nothing worse happened. But it kind of just like, man, the 49ers just can't – they can't catch a break.
17:50They're just snake bit every which way. I got to tell you something, Ty.
17:55They caught a break with this. Well, yeah, I guess you're right.
17:59I guess you're right. So, yeah, that is a good point.

18:07Yeah, because it could have been much worse. Correct.

18:43San Francisco week one, as opposed to having to fly to Australia, you know, they kind of get dealt a bad hand there.
18:50But again, you know, considering what could have happened and what injuries he already did sustain from this accident, thank God he's okay.
18:58Thank God we will see him likely, you know, on the field, you know, sooner rather than later.

19:07That's a good way of putting it. All right, Chepty, let's move on to topic number four of this week's six-pack.
19:14I have a feeling this is kind of going to be a weekly thing here, weekly question, until we get some clarity on it.
19:22I asked you about it yesterday on Pat's show.
19:25Yeah. What do we have in terms of an Aaron Donald update?
19:29Well, here's the point I want to make today about the Aaron Donald situation.
19:33I think for the people who are waiting for a quick, immediate response and action where all of a sudden the Rams
19:41are in camp as they are now, and Aaron Donald is just going to show up and sign and be back on the field for practice.
19:49It's not going to unfold that way, I don't expect.
19:53And it's not going to unfold that way, I don't expect, because of this.
19:57People forget, Aaron Donald still is under contract to the Los Angeles Rams.
20:02He is under contract to the Rams for $30 million for this season.
20:06So if Aaron Donald does go through his training and does work himself back into football shape and does decide he wants
20:13to come back to play football and does sign off on the idea of coming back, it's not like he's going to
20:21say, OK, I'm ready, I'm back, and I'm walking out onto the field.
20:25Because there still is the unresolved contractual issue that both sides will have to address.
20:30Yes, because he's not going to walk out to the Rams and say, oh, you're back $30 million for a guy who hasn't played football in two years.
20:39Now, he may be a $30 million player, and he may think that he's a $30 million player, but it's not just
20:46going to be that he walks out onto the field and makes $30 million, Ty.
20:51There's going to be some discussions here about what he wants, what he's willing to play for, what the Rams are willing to pay him.
21:00So before we can even get to the point where he's back on the team side, if that's what he decides, they
21:07have to figure out a new contractual arrangement for him.
21:10Unless the Rams are just going to say, OK, go take $30 million, which I would not guess ultimately would be the case.
21:18So we'll see how that plays out. But that will be your tip-off in terms of when the Aaron Donald situation would be heating up.
21:26Schefter, are you under the impression that they've already had these conversations in some part, correct?
21:32Like they're not – I'm sure they've had some conversations, but I don't think that they've intensified to where either side would know the outcome.
21:40Maybe they have. I haven't heard that. I haven't asked that.
21:44But like, again, no, I don't think they've resolved that.
21:47So I think that that would still be an unresolved situation that would command and demand both sides' attention before he actually
21:54did sign off and sign on the dotted line to play again this season.
21:59See, like that's an element that a lot of people haven't talked about.
22:03Right. No, and that would make sense because you wouldn't get into contract negotiations, discussions if you weren't – if he wasn't
22:10100% in like, hey, I'm going to – I will be there.
22:14I will be on the team this year. You're not going to waste time, you know, saying, OK, well, how does the money work out in this situation?
22:24But I would imagine – and again, I don't know.
22:27I would think that if he ends up getting to the point where he says, yes, I want to play this year,
22:34that maybe it would be a little bit easier of a – not necessarily an open-shut book kind of thing.
22:41But I think – I don't think he's going to agree to come back and then we're going to have this long, drawn-out contract negotiation.
22:49I could be wrong, but that would be my take is that maybe he already has a little bit of an idea.
22:57They already have a little bit of an idea and they kind of do just need to come together and really hammer it home.
23:05But I guess we'll find out. And like I said, we'll be talking about that probably every week until we have some

23:37Someone who is also an incredibly dominant defensive lineman.
23:40We've talked about Vita Vea all offseason wanting a new contract.
23:44And then lo and behold, I think it was yesterday, late afternoon.
23:48He wants to be traded. What more do you know about this situation?
23:52And how likely is it that Vita Vea is going to be on a new team come next year?
23:58Well, he wants to be traded because he doesn't have the new contract he wants.
24:03And the two sides have not made any progress.
24:06And I don't think the Bucs have made any meaningful offers to give Vita Vea the reason to not say, I want to be traded.
24:15When a player says, I want to be traded, it's because he usually doesn't have the type of contract that he wants.
24:22And whenever a player says, I want to get traded, that's always a sexy storyline.
24:27As much as training camp is opening. Like, literally, as we're doing this.
24:31One minute ago, my father, Jeff Schefter, just texted me.
24:35And I could just read this. I don't like boring you with nonsense, but I can't help it.
24:41Vita Vea would be a perfect fit for my New York Giants.
24:45Tip of the O plus draft capital. Don't know cap issues?
24:48Follow the Rams lead. One can only hope. So that's Jeff Schefter weighing in on the unresolved Vita Vea situation that I just got.
24:56And I'll have to call him when we're done with this podcast.
25:00Tell him to calm down and stop sending me fanboy texts like this while I'm on air.
25:06What the heck is going on with that, Papa?
25:09I mean, that's crazy. I mean, that makes sense, though.
25:12Because I think anytime you hear this, and it's a player like that, and that's part of the training camp excitement.
25:19Every single fan base has that exact same reaction.
25:22They're going through that exercise, right? What can we trade for Vita Vea?
25:26You know who's not going through that exercise right now?
25:30Who's that? The Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Yeah, right. Jeff Schefter is, but the Buccaneers are not.
25:35At least not to my knowledge. Now, we'll speak to them at some point in time.
25:40We'll speak to the Vita Vea people, and we'll see if they can figure out a resolution.
25:46But I don't think the Buccaneers are sitting there on the whiteboard this morning plotting certain packages that they can get from certain teams.
25:54I think they're trying to figure out how can we make our guy happy?
25:59How can we get him from saying, I want to trade to where he's happier about staying in Tampa?
26:05Now, maybe it's beyond the point of no return, and maybe Tampa has no intention of re-signing him, and maybe they will be open to trading him.
26:14But there have been many players who have issued trade requests.
26:18By the way, the last one that did it was Dexter Lawrence.
26:22And Dexter Lawrence, as it turned out, wound up getting traded and getting a reworked deal, which has probably contributed to Vita
26:29Vea being in this spot anyway, because Vita Vea probably would want Dexter Lawrence money, like Dexter Lawrence was paid at the defensive tackle position.
26:37So we'll see how it all plays out. But here's one more storyline for us to track as all teams now are in training camp.
26:46Yeah, and I saw something to the effect that, and I might be misquoting him here a little bit, but Todd Bowles
26:53basically said, like, you know, Vita Vea is irreplaceable.
26:56So typically, you know, and again, anything can happen.
26:59Obviously, we've seen that. But typically, you don't have your head coach say that, and then a couple weeks later turn around and trade him.
27:07So I would agree. He's one of the best defensive players in the NFL.
27:12He is certainly a very hard piece to replace.
27:15And you would think that the Bucs are going to do whatever they can do to make sure they have him come the start of the season.
27:24So this will be, but again, you know, this is one of those things we'll keep an eye on, you know, with
27:31training camp and kind of as the next few weeks progress.
27:35And the Bucs have a lot of, you know, unresolved issues, whether it's him, Baker.
27:40Like, they have a lot of stuff they need to figure out over the course of the next few weeks here.
27:47We'll see what kind of information we do get from them.
27:50All right, Chepty, let's move on to the sixth and final topic of this week's six-pack.
27:56After, I guess I wouldn't say posturing, Jacoby Brissett was very upfront with, hey, I'm not going to show up if I don't have a new deal.
28:05I believe I outperformed the deal that I'm playing on last year.
28:09The stats certainly bear that out, whether or not they won a lot of games.
28:14And it's neither here nor there. He was a very serviceable quarterback for them.
28:18He did get a new deal. And he kind of said, you know, hey, everyone who doesn't understand why I did this
28:26for, you know, a team that wasn't any good, like, I don't care.
28:30I got paid. Had to do what I had to do.
28:33In your opinion, what is the most interesting thing about Jacoby Brissett's new deal?
28:38I'm going to tell you a couple of things that stood out to me.
28:43First of all, there are about five quarterback contractual issues that I think that are out there right now.
28:49One is Jacoby Brissett itself, the books. Lamar Jackson, the Ravens.
28:53Can they get something done at some point in time here?
28:56Baker Mayfield and the Bucks. We just talked about that.
29:00Do the Panthers even address Bryce Young or not?
29:03Do they leave it alone? And CJ Stratton, the Houston Texans, I would think at some point before the season, they get together.
29:10And of course, Jacoby Brissett was the one that got done.
29:14It was an obvious solution. They didn't add on any New Year's.
29:18They gave him $15.5 million, all guaranteed with upside to $21 million for a guy that you love to have on your
29:25roster, a respected veteran, popular among players, and played well for the Cardinals.
29:30But it was one thing that Jacoby Brissett said at his press conference after he signed that got my attention.
29:36And he said when they were talking about the Arizona Cardinals team that now includes, it's actually a pretty formidable, potent offensive attack.
29:44You've got Marvin Harrison, Michael Wilson, others at wide receiver, Trey McBride at tight end, Jeremiah Love, Tyler Algier, James Conner, Trey Benson at running back.
29:53They were talking to him about the team and he said something to the effect, and I'm not quoting him exactly, but I'm not far off.
30:01I see why we paid Jeremiah Love all the money we did.
30:05That, to me, told me a lot, Ty. We have a respected veteran, Jacoby Brissett, who's been around the league, who's seen
30:12a lot of star performers, and already he was ready to sign off on the Arizona Cardinals, making Jeremiah Love the number
30:20three overall pick at Notre Dame this year, one of the highest paid running backs in football, with more guaranteed money than even Jacoby Brissett is getting.
30:29And he was saying, this guy looks like he's going to be worth it.
30:33That got my attention. Yeah, no, I agree. I mean, what limited camp highlights we're getting, you know, he looks like the same guy.
30:41We all saw him play at Notre Dame. And there's a reason that right after the draft and leading up to the
30:49draft, the majority of people who cover the draft and even people who just, you know, do kind of what we do
30:56or talk about the NFL every single day, like a lot of people believed he was the best player in the draft,
31:03you know, and I don't know if it was particularly close.
31:07And I'm excited to see what he can do because obviously we had a, I think he's probably a little bit more
31:14ready to go than Ashton Gentry was. I think his ceiling is, is higher, but we saw what happens if you don't really have a formidable line.
31:23Ashton Gentry kind of just got eaten up last year.
31:27And eventually, you know, he kind of came around a little bit and we'll see what he does with the improved line
31:34in, in Vegas, but hopefully they can open up some holes for him.
31:38But again, what he can do in the passing game, what he can do, just kind of creating for himself, like that,
31:46like you said, there's a reason they paid him the kind of money with guarantees and everything.
31:51There's a reason they took him number three overall when there could have been a lot of other holes that they maybe needed to fill.
31:59I'm very excited to see what Jeremiah Love does in Arizona this year.
32:04So we have all sorts of storylines unfolding. Everybody's now in camp.
32:08Obviously be an incredible summer with lots of things to follow.
32:11But I did want to point out before we signed up just about my dog, Ella.
32:17I, I, I always feel like it's appropriate and respectful to pay my respects to, to the dogs that my family has
32:24lost because they mean so much to our family.
32:27We did it for Benny in January of 2025.
32:30We did it for Bailey in March of 2026.
32:33Now we're doing it again for Ella, who was our oldest dog, who we got in January of 2007.
32:39She was almost 20 years old. I honestly, um, we had to let her go last Thursday.
32:45She had had a couple of seizures and breathing was becoming more labored and she was blind and she was deaf and she had doggy dementia.
32:54And you get to the point where as much as we loved having her, uh, probably wasn't fair in the end.
33:01And it was probably the right time. And even then, um, the day we made the decision, she was walking around in our backyard.
33:09She was having a great day, peaceful, breathing a little bit easier.
33:13And, um, we were really struggling that day. Like, wow, is this the time?
33:17Because you never know when it's the right time.
33:20And, and she was going to be 20 years old in November.
33:24And there was a part of me that part of us, my family, we, we wanted her to get to 20 years
33:31old and we wanted her to challenge for the world record for the world's largest or the world's oldest labradoodle.
33:38Like, like we thought Ella was superwoman and she can make it to, uh, I think we looked it up one time.
33:45We asked Siri, what was the world's largest, oldest labradoodle?
33:49And she said, 26 years old. And we're like, let's see if we could push Ella along for six more years.
33:56And we would have loved to have done that.
33:59And, um, it's devastating every time that you have to lose one of your dogs.
34:04And, and it's strange because 18 months ago, I knew all of our dogs were sick and all of them were struggling.
34:11And I remember laying in bed a few times thinking that we're going to lose all of our dogs within days or weeks of each other.
34:20It turned out to be 18 months. Every single one of them leaves you gutted every single one of them.
34:26And there were so many people that reached out.
34:29And I say to people, we are, we are the dog's world and they are our world.
34:35And, uh, we loved Ella. We're going to miss Ella.
34:38I've tried a lot for Ella the last four or five days.
34:42Uh, didn't know that I'd be able to talk through this as one of the rare times in my life that you
34:50have one of the saddest days of your life and, and you can talk about it without getting overly emotional, but, but
34:57our family has been gutted by what took place last Thursday.
35:01It's a day I'll never forget as long as I live.
35:04One of the all time saddest days we've had just wanted to pay, uh, our respects to Ella.
35:10Appreciate all the thoughts and wishes that people have sent to me and, uh, appreciate you listening to that today.
