0:00What's going on guys? It's Nick here back with another video. Today we're going over five wide receivers that I think could break fantasy this season
0:05given their ADPs. Uh we'll start off with one of my favorite players this season and that's Lad Mankey. I really want to just be investing in this
0:14Chargers offense this season and Lad is just the best wide receiver to do that with. I know the other ones go later and
0:22thus theoretically have more upside for the ADP, but I'm just so confident that Lad is gonna have an awesome season. And
0:29I think the other wide receivers could kind of form some sort of rotation there, but they're not going to rotate with Lad. He's an awesome wide receiver.
0:37He really fits Mike McDaniel's scheme the best. McDaniel loves speed. He drafted the fastest wide receiver in this year's class. He signed the fastest
0:47running back in free agency. They sign David Andoku who's a physical freak.
0:51Like he wants athleticism and he wants speed on the field at all times. That is what Lad brings while also having the
0:59ability to get open versus man end zone coverage. He's just like a player that it's so obvious McDaniel is going to
1:05scheme open on a ton of plays and he's going to be successful in doing that. Um definitely a disappointing season last
1:13year in fantasy for Lad, but it was more in fantasy, right? because originally for a while he was going in like the
1:20late second round uh on underdog at least um probably more the third round in reddraft. Then they had those injuries to the offensive lineman.
1:27Everyone realized, okay, the offense is not like the ceiling for the offense isn't there as much if we're getting all these injuries. And so his ADP went back
1:34a little bit, but still for what he produced last season, you were not pleased with the production. But you look at the underlying metrics, they
1:41were still really strong. He cleared the 88th percentile versus man zone and press which is incredible to do. Matt Harmon also charged him with an above
1:51average success rate on every single route he ran more than 3% of the time.
1:55So underlying metric there really really strong. He gets open verse man press and zone. When he runs routes that he typically runs he's getting open. He's a
2:05great wide receiver. The problem was, if you watch the Chargers offense, they would drop back and there's immediately pressure. That hurt them in sustaining
2:14drives. It hurt them in scoring a lot more touchdowns. It just hurts everything when Herbert is constantly under pressure, but Lad was still good.
2:24He was great as a rookie. He was great last season. You have to think, you have to hope that the offensive line is going
2:30to stay healthier this season. And so if you increase um the play calling efficiency, especially um moving I think a big thing also is moving towards what
2:40they're clearly going to do is heavier personnel. They're not going to run as many three body sets. They'll still run it plenty especially when they're down
2:47um and lad will still be successful in those. But it's very clear looking at the offseason moves that uh they've made
2:53that McDaniel wants to run more 12 personnel 21 personnel and that's only going to have two wide receivers on the field. You're going to hear this a lot
2:59this season. that can hurt slot wide receivers, but Lad is not a slot wide receiver. He will be playing on the
3:04outside in two wide receiver sets. And so when he's able to run a route against David and Jooku versus David versus um
3:11like Keenan Allen last season, he's going to be more successful and have a higher targets per route run against the tight end than someone like Keenan Allen
3:21who's just over the course of his career commanded targets. Keenan Allen gone, of course. So now it's going to be like
3:26Trey Harris as that third. But the point remains that it's good for the wide receivers who are on the field in those
3:33sets. So again, I just want to be investing in this offense because I think when you look at last season, not
3:39only will the scheme improve, but when you fix the offensive line, you just get it back to full health, it's going to be
3:46much much more successful. It's going to be day and night looking at this offense. We know Justin Herbert is amazing. We know Lad is amazing. We know
3:54that McDaniel can scheme players open.
3:56It's an offense you want to invest in and the easiest way to do that with the fewest question marks is with Lad. I
4:02think he can have like a top he could have a top five fantasy season for wide receivers. Um and I think the build is
4:09also really nice because um he goes in like the mid fourth round. You could start off with two running backs and
4:14take him as your second wide receiver.
4:16Or you could do a Bowowers build and go like two running backs with Bowowers in the first three rounds and then go lad
4:21as your one. I think he can still pay off in that scenario because again I think top five is possible. building top
4:26seven is maybe a little bit more realistic for him. Next up, uh Dvont Smith. He's coming off the board in the
4:32late third round, so at that like round three, four turn. I love taking him also in those builds where like you have a
4:37late first round pick. And so you're at a disadvantage, right? We know historically early first round picks um your team hits to the playoffs and
4:45championship at a higher rate than a late first round pick. Um you have this disadvantage, but this season you get to
4:51double dip if you want to at running back. There's going to be two running backs that are really solid with late
4:56first round pick. And if you do that, you can still grab Devontto Smith. Uh, heck, you probably can grab Devontto Smith and Lad with your next two picks.
5:04And I think because of how good the wide receivers are in that range, you do unlock a pretty unique ceiling where you
5:10could have two top five running backs and then also two top 10 wide receivers, uh, something that potentially you can't do from an early first round pick. still
5:18disadvantage having a late first round pick, but Dvont Smith is there and I think a lot of people should be drafting
5:22him in that kind of round three four turn. We know historically Dvont has not produced like a wide receiver one and so
5:27in your mind he's probably not someone you want in fantasy in that slot, but that's because he's been playing alongside AJ Brown, right? And I mean
5:36anyone playing alongside AJ Brown is not going to produce as a wide receiver one in fantasy. Uh since joining the Eagles
5:42four years ago, AJ Brown has produced a 17game pace of 143 targets, 93 receptions, nearly 1,400 yards, and nine
5:53touchdowns. Like, that is insane numbers on an offense that doesn't exactly like lean past heavy. They don't drop back every single play for pass attempts. Uh
6:02now, I know they added Mai Lemon. I know they added Sters. Neither of those two are going to replace AJ Brown, what he
6:08meant to this offense. even combined, they might not, you know, produce what he was able to do for this offense. Uh,
6:15AJ Brown was routinely the go-to option.
6:18The first read, he had a massive target share in this offense. And adding sters also indicates more two tight end sets,
6:26which again, like we just talked about for Lad, that's going to be a very good thing for Dvontto Smith. It also could
6:32open up early season, a really nice start to the year for you. Um, early season wins matter in fantasy. So if we
6:39know early in the year Devontto Smith is set up really nice for a schedule um also doesn't have to potentially deal
6:45with Sters and Mai Lemon as much he could just go nuclear to start the year and if you can rack up wins early on it
6:51can help you you know just kind of glide into the fantasy playoffs and we think about early for the Eagles Ster is
6:57probably going to be limited early on it's going to be purely on passing plays when they have those passing plays I
7:03don't know that Mai Lemon's gonna be out there in two receiver sets so there's going to be a lot where you have Um,
7:08Devont Smith is a clear one. You've got Dallas Goddard Sters as a rookie early in the season, probably not commanding much of a target share. And then
7:15Dantavian Wixs on the other side who's not very good. So, Dvont Smith is going to have an absolutely insane target share on those plays to start the year.
7:24And even when you mix in Mai Lemon into those two wide receiver sets, maybe into the season, it's still going to be two
7:31rookies on the field competing targets with Devont Smith, who's very obviously a very good wide receiver. uh very clear opportunity here especially in the first
7:40half of the season to have like a 30% target share for Dvont Smith. We also know in the three games AJ Brown did not
7:47play in the last two years. Dvont has had a 33% target share uh that resulted in about 10 targets per game. So the
7:54targets are going way up. There's going to be more plays designed to go to him.
7:57If they go to more two tight end sets, his targets per run will also increase even further than naturally what they
8:03will with AJ Brown there. Uh, and this is all coming from a player who even playing alongside AJ Brown has consistently been, you know, around a
8:11thousand yard producer. He's missed only five games in five career seasons. The Eagles have the easiest passing schedule in the league this season. Like, I don't
8:21think people realize the ceiling that is here. If AJ Brown last season were like traded mid-season, people would be falling over themselves to be trading
8:30for Dvontto Smith as like a top seven wide receiver. But even though there's a full off season for the team to prep for
8:37this as you know Devon Smith being the alpha, you can get him as your top wide receiver after already securing two top
8:44seven or eight running backs and then you get to pick you know almost first again in round four. You can go with
8:50someone like Lad as well and now you have two players who could be wide receiver ones to pair with two top seven
8:54or eight running backs. It's a great start again for a consolation of unfortunately getting a late first round pick. Uh, next up we have easily the
9:01most obvious player in the world to make this list, and that is Mike Evans. We already talked about him last week, so I
9:06don't want to go like super in-depth here. I'll keep it a little bit more brief, but the name of the game here is
9:11touchdowns. I don't think Mike Evans is going to go out there and have a 100 receptions for,700 yards. Like, that's not going to happen. uh at this point of
9:20his career, he is not going to command that level of target share, but he doesn't need to because he's Mike Evans
9:27and he could have 15 to 17 touchdowns.
9:30It's not going to matter if he's only around 1,000 yards. And you say that, right? He is a like round five, six turn
9:36right now. He's like a six round pick in many drafts. A six round pick if you're like, "Oh, he's only going to be around
9:41a,000 yards." He only has 1,000 yards in 11 of 12 seasons. like absolutely insane that you could get someone who's probably going to have 1,000 yards,
9:51probably going to have 13 plus touchdowns in the sixth round as like your third wide receiver. It's just absolutely insane. Your your second wide
10:00receiver if you want to go with a Bowowers or an early quarterback or maybe like a Lovelin or something like that. Incredible. Um the man is either
10:10the most dominant or the second most dominant red zone weapon in the NFL.
10:14He's on the 49ers now. They're probably going to finish top five in scoring.
10:1749ers also a highly efficient offense.
10:20You know that they're going to scheme up specific plays to where even if the total volume isn't what it was in Tampa
10:28Bay, the efficiency is going to be much much higher. And you look again, I always go back to the touchdowns. Look
10:33at who he's competing with. KD's returning from a torn Achilles. And even without the torn Achilles, he maxed out at eight touchdowns over the last three
10:40years. And a tornillies is no joke. We don't know how much that's going to limit him. I still like KD, especially
10:45at his ADP at like what 120 right now, but we have to acknowledge that KD's probably not gonna have 12 touchdowns.
10:52Uh Ricky Pawol, three career touchdowns over two seasons. Uh Stribbling, their rookie this season, 6'2, 27 pounds, maxed out at six touchdowns over five
11:01career seasons in college.
11:03That that's nothing. Every time they get into the red zone, the ball's going to Mike Evans. He could push for 15, 17
11:08touchdowns if he stays healthy. Uh, and people are also questioning, can he stay healthy? I know he's a year older, but
11:15he's played at least 13 games in 11 straight seasons heading into last year.
11:20And then he had some freak injuries. So, he's got 15 touchdown upside. In 11 of 12 years, he's had at least 68
11:26receptions for at least 1,000 yards. And now he's on the 49ers, who are one of the most efficient offenses in the NFL.
11:31And he goes to the 56 turn. I mean, if if anyone could break fantasy football, it is this player. Next up, we have
11:37Travis Hunter. Now, I love Jacobe Myers as a player, but Myers is a player who is more likely to outperform his ADP by
11:44a little than someone who could break out, be a top 10 fantasy producer. I also think that Parker Washington is better than the general public thinks. I
11:52think he's a legit talent, but I don't think he's someone who's going to like shatter his ADP in round seven of
11:58reddraft leagues. Um, I also fully acknowledge that Brian Thomas Jr. does have an elite ceiling. We saw it as a rookie going at the 67 turn. He could
12:06definitely uh produce really well this season, have another breakout. Uh but what we saw last season was a little bit concerning unless you buy into the fact
12:14that he was much more injured than people knew. Uh I just keep going back to Travis Hunter after that and be like,
12:20"Okay, but you could take those guys in like the sixth, seventh, eighth round or you could take Travis Hunter in the 17th
12:26round in reddraft leagues." Uh and even if you say, "Well, that's unrealistic.
12:30People take them earlier." Well, they're not right now. And also even on underdog, which is a three wide receiver best ball format, which means it's
12:36leaning towards wide receiver value, he goes in the 13th round. So in reddraft, it is unlikely he pushes past the 15th
12:42round right now, which for many of you is like the last pick in your draft.
12:45Definitely the last skill player you would take. So the market is completely out on Travis Hunter right now, which feels like a massive overreaction. He
12:54came into the NFL already as a complete wide receiver prospect. He was capable of playing three wide zero positions, all three positions. Um, he was capable
13:02of beating pressman coverage, capable of running a full route tree. And then in year one, he disappointed from a box score perspective, but he cleared the
13:1180th percentile versus man and press. He was highly successful among the routes he ran most often. The biggest issue for him was that he was still learning the
13:23offense. He was learning offense and defense. And that's very difficult for any rookie coming into the league. I mean, up to this point, they've all only
13:30learned one position, right? And for many of them, it was difficult to learn that one position. So, to ask him to
13:36learn all three wide receing a lot of him, it's why they kind of made him focus more on one of the wide rece.
13:45Um, but he still did well given all of that. uh he started to break out towards the end of the season, but then he has
13:52the season ending injury. I just don't want people to forget who we're talking about here. He is one of the most
13:59athletic players we have ever seen in the NFL. He's now had a full off season plus a full camp that's about to happen
14:07to actually learn all three positions to be utilized in that way in a Liam Cohen offense. Please remember he did not land
14:15on the Jets. he landed on a team with one of the best play callers in the NFL.
14:20There is a very real chance here that Travis Hunter ends up as the most valuable wide receiver on this team even
14:27without injuries. Even if none of these wide receivers get injured and even if he's going to play some on defense, he
14:34could be the most valuable wide receiver on this team because he probably is the most talented wide receiver on the team.
14:39And I understand that from a team perspective, they probably need him a little bit more at corner. And if he's going to play that much there, he he
14:47just can't play 90% of snaps, but he doesn't have to play 90% of snaps. He doesn't have to be out there when
14:53they're doing clear run plays. He doesn't have to be out there when they're running the ball out. He doesn't have to be out there when his play is
14:59clearly designed to be a screen pass to someone else, be down the field to Brian Thomas Jr. Like, he doesn't have to be
15:03out there for a lot of plays that are never going to get him the football.
15:07when he goes out there, his target per out run is going to be incredibly high.
15:11And if he actually is like I think the most talented wide receiver on this team, they're not going to throw him out
15:17there at corner every single play and be like, "Yep, you only get 10 routes this week." No, he's going to be running
15:22plenty of routes. He's going to be successful in those. He's going to develop as a player. And if he learns all three positions in the playbook,
15:29there's going to be fewer plays where like last season he kind of didn't know where to be. he wasn't necessarily on
15:35the same page as um Trevor Lawrence. And so even if like if you look at the route, it was a successful route run, he
15:42maybe ran it in the part that of the field where he wasn't supposed to be. Uh maybe he caused a false start or he
15:47caused something on offense where it was like he just didn't know when to go in motion, when to stop. Like he just
15:52didn't know everything. He's going to know all of that this season with a full off season to prepare. Now he's also
15:58fully healthy cuz like he the injury was not something we're concerned about right now. So fully healthy, highly athletic player, great wide receiver,
16:06going to play plenty for us in fantasy and he's free. I just we got to go back to that fact. Like if he was going in
16:12round six or round seven or round eight, there's an actual opportunity cost there. It's a great range for quarterback. There's a ton of great wide
16:20receivers, maybe the end of some running backs you trust. In round 17, your draft literally might not have 17 rounds in
16:27it. So, you can always get him as your last wide receiver in reddraft. If it truly doesn't work out, you drop him.
16:33But, I just don't see that happening.
16:35Like, it's he's one of the more screaming values in drafts right now. Uh definitely a great pick on underdog.
16:40I've been getting a ton of him. Uh it just makes all the sense in the world to take a shot on someone this talented. No
16:46one should debate how talented Travis Hunter is. You got to get players that talented onto your roster when they're free in drafts. Final today, easily the
16:56riskiest on this list. and the one that could literally do absolutely nothing this season, but is a 70th wide receiver off boards, never going to get drafted
17:03in reddraft, even deeper leagues, uh, Tanktail. Now, I know he's coming off just a terrifying knee injury, right? He tore his ACL, MCL, LCL, he dislocated
17:12his kneecap, he did other damage around that. I mean, this was one of the worst injuries you could possibly have, required multiple surgeries. Easily
17:20could just never come back to what he once was. Fully acknowledge that. But the injury did happen in December of 2024. So by week one he'll have had 21
17:28months to recover. He'll need that much time. Again, it was a horrible injury, but 21 months is a very long time to
17:34recover from any injury. Um he was there in the last day of OTAAS. He's expected to be good to go to start training camp.
17:41So he's good to go. He's got time. He wasn't out there, you know, fully in team drills. But by training camp, the
17:48expectation is that he's going to be out there uh and ramped up to be a full go to start the season. Again, obviously a
17:55very risky player. Um, obviously a low confidence bet. And obviously Nico's the alpha. I want to make that very clear.
18:01Nico Collins the best wide receiver in this team. He'll be the one. But I don't think Jaden Higgins proved to be like a
18:08clearly dominant number two last season.
18:10So it's not a guarantee he just completely shuts out Tankell for that role. I think they're probably going to mix in mix and match those two as the
18:18two um early in the season. And he's also just someone that like showed out in a rookie. Like he showed that like
18:25he's just good at football. Even if maybe he's a smaller wide receiver, maybe is much more prone to some of these injuries. The kid was on pace for
18:3280 receptions, 1,200 yards, and 12 touchdowns before getting hurt as a rookie. Someone capable of doing that should not be completely free. Even on
18:42underdog, he's free. The kid goes around pick like 200. You can take him as your last pick. like someone who's capable of doing that on
18:52an offense that has not been great recently because CJ Shout has kind of fallen back but clearly is capable of doing well. It's
19:00like there there's just the upside is there. He's capable of producing these sorts of numbers. Stout is capable of supporting this offense. Will it all
19:08come together? I don't know. But again, on pace for 80 receptions, 1200 yards, and 12 touchdowns as a rookie, I don't
19:15know. I mean, the upside's obviously there. Um, I think it's probably going to take an injury. I think it probably takes an injury to Nico Collins. I think
19:21Nico just commands too high of a target share and the team has good enough of a defense, um, has good enough a run game
19:27that, um, the likely outcome is that the volume just isn't there enough. But what happens if Nico gets hurt? What happens
19:33if the offense or the defense has a couple injuries, maybe isn't as good as we think, and the offense actually does
19:38have to lean past heavy and doesn't have Nico Collins? Like, these are outcomes that are possible. They could occur. And if that happens and he comes back
19:46healthy, it's tanked out. I mean, the wide receivers going around him in this range are pathetic, right? It's like Troy Franklin's of the world. Like
19:52there's no upside at all. And so there's no real risk in taking Tanked Dell. The worst case here is that he kind of mixes
19:59in in like a deep play role and you occasionally get some spiked tweaks on underdog or you draft your last pick in
20:04reddraft, he ends up doing nothing and you cut him. It's your last pick in reddraft league. It's not going to be a
20:09pick you're probably relying on anyways.
20:11So, why not take a player who's capable of that sort of production? Unlikely, sure, but impossible that he produces like that. Absolutely not. So, um, let
