0:00Nationwide is so much more than a great insurance company.
0:03They're one of America's largest financial services companies, just like I'm so much more than quarterback Peyton Manning.
0:08I'm also Peyton Manning. Insurance and financial services together?

0:42And you certainly don't need to be telling some fake betting expert on social media.
0:47Go to my bookie and find the plays you already know you like and take a shot.
0:51That's what's cool about my bookie. You can find the action you want and bet it wherever you are when the game kicks off.

1:21You're welcome. What is going on, everyone? Welcome back to another episode of the Draft Capital Podcast.
1:26He's Steve Letizia. I'm TJ Wingard. And today we are jumping right back into the mock draft madness.
1:31We're right on the precipice of week one of the NFL season.
1:34As of recording, we're getting set for our Thursday night game on Netflix.
1:38We just had our Wednesday game. So Steve, we've officially made it to the NFL season, which really is going to set
1:44up our future mocks for a lot of fun possibilities because we'll have a better idea of like, hey, this team's linebacking
1:50or is really weak or this team needs receiver.
1:53Now that I've seen it actually, as opposed to what I think it is on paper.
1:57So kind of getting a little bit of early tape, but really moving forward, we're going to start having a lot of
2:03really informed analysis about team needs, at least a little bit more of analysis around team needs.
2:08Long tangent aside, Steve, how'd you doing? How are you doing, man?
2:11And I'm ready to jump into this mock draft with you.
2:14Absolutely. Yeah, I'm excited as well. Like you said, we're going to get more information on NFL teams.
2:19We're getting more information on college players as we go.
2:22So these are only going to become more better and better each one we do.
2:26But I'm excited to do another one and see kind of how it differs.
2:30I think there might be some guys who maybe sneak into the first round who we weren't really considering the last couple
2:36of times, or maybe there's a quarterback who we didn't draft in the top 10, who we might want to draft in the top 10 now.
2:44So I'm excited to get into it. No, I'm pumped up.
2:47And that's kind of the beauty of what we're doing with this being week by week.
2:51We're kind of charting the progress of the course of the season.
2:55So last time out, you had odds. I had events.
2:57We're going to flip back. I will have odds kick us off.
3:01I'll save us a lot of time here. Jumping right into it.
3:04Arch Manning, number one overall pick. Looks good. Looks the part against Texas State.
3:08We're off and running, but really the test comes this week with Texas-Ohio State.
3:12But Arch Manning's going to be the number one pick here yet again.
3:16Yeah. Yeah. And this one's interesting, the Texas-Ohio State game, because I mean, last year, everyone saw week one, Arch Manning did not play well against Ohio State.
3:23So now he gets his little redemption arc here.
3:26So hopefully it's a little bit better. I imagine it's going to be just because he has better weapons and better offensive lines.
3:32And at home, right? Pretty sure Texas is done.
3:35I don't know the answer to that. But yeah, that sounds right, because I think it was at OSU.
3:40It was at OSU last year. Yeah, this year it's at Texas.
3:43So being in Austin should help too. Yep. All right.
3:46So then the Dolphins are on the clock. We've gone back and forth on them, picking a quarterback or picking Jeremiah Smith.
3:52I still think it's kind of just a toss up, but I think I'm going to go with Dante Moore here.
3:58I think they are eventually going to go a quarterback, especially if the Dolphins are drafting second overall.
4:03Give them the quarterback. They have some intriguing day two wide receivers that they drafted.
4:07Get a good young guy in the board, in the door.
4:10You could still have Malik Willis next year. You don't have to really give up on him, but then you have kind
4:17of that bridge to Dante Moore for a year.
4:19So I like that pick. Yeah. I mean, I don't know if you got around to watching the Oregon all 22 or anything, but Dante Moore was good.
4:27Like that game was unnecessarily close, but a lot of that I put on the Oregon defense.
4:32I thought Dante Moore was pretty good. And honestly, I feel like his drive throws, there was a little bit more zip
4:38on the ball than there was last year. So that makes me kind of encouraged.
4:42I've always kind of had the CJ Stroud comp.
4:45I was listening to Daniel Jeremiah on Move the Sticks.
4:47He floated that exact same comp. So it's good to see there's some consensus around that.
4:52But I think that's even more live considering how the ball was coming out of his hand on Saturday.
4:57Who's the offensive coordinator for the Miami Dolphins right now?
5:00None other than Bobby Slowitt, the offensive coordinator for Houston Texans during Stroud's first few years.
5:04So it feels like I could see that guy being like, that's a play style I can work with.
5:10And also, I will say like, confit someone to CJ Stroud.
5:13We'll see how this year goes. That might not be such a good thing in a lot of fan bases' mind here in a few months.
5:20But okay, then that makes it tough here for the Jets because Dante Moore is the dream scenario.
5:25So let's shake it up. Let's go Leonard Moore here at number three.
5:29Honestly, Leonard Moore is the Jeremiah Smith of the defensive side of the ball.
5:32And they could go Jeremiah here. And I wouldn't hate it whatsoever.
5:36But we've had two months thus far where Jeremiah goes top three.
5:39Let's explore a possibility where he slips just a little bit more.
5:43And I don't think it's super likely. But is there a world where the Jets say, hey, we got two first-round receivers, two top 50 tight ends.
5:50We need a quarterback. But the top two guys are off the board.
5:54We could use a quarterback for the future because it's already a Thomas question marks there.
5:58And Nashawn Wright's a one-year contract. Brandon Stevens, I think that's a contract you'd like to get rid of.
6:03It'd probably be Jeremiah Smith. But just for a little bit of gamesmanship, exploring a little bit of a different possibility for
6:10a team with three first-round picks, might I add.
6:12What happens if we go Leonard Moore here at three?
6:15So let's explore that. I love it. I mean, Leonard Moore is in a vacuum.
6:19By himself, it's absolutely worth the third pick in the draft.
6:22So I like that pick. You mentioned they have two other first-round picks.
6:26This is a deeper receiver class than it is cornerback class.
6:29The wide receiver you get at 13, 15, whatever pick they have, is better than the corner you're going to get.
6:35So I like that thought process. All right, Cleveland Browns.
6:37So this is, I mean, again, another team that just desperately needs a quarterback.
6:41I didn't expect Jeremiah Smith to be on the board.
6:44Yeah, right, right. And that's part of why also I did what I did.
6:48Because sometimes you just, I don't think the Giants have a plan on Orville Reese being there at five.
6:53But then sometimes, for lack of a better phrasing, shit happens.
6:56And you're like, uh-oh, I know we had a plan, but we might have to pivot here.
7:01And that, yeah, I think that's kind of what you got to do here.
7:05Well, I don't know. So they got Denzel Boston and Casey's Concepcion with their top two, or with two of their picks last year.
7:12Are they going to draft a third, not a third wide receiver?
7:15Obviously, he'd be their number one. But that's a lot of investment in the wide receiver position.
7:20And they desperately need a quarterback. And we have given a quarterback in our first two mocks.
7:25I think I'm going to actually pass on Jeremiah Smith here and give him Darren Mensah.
7:29But I think, look, he had a great week one.
7:32We talked about it on the podcast. It was Stanford.
7:35There's still a lot of question marks. But that was a high-profile game that everyone saw.
7:39And a national narrative like that can start to build.
7:42And, you know, he looked better than he did last year, especially under pressure and everything like that.
7:47There is a scenario where he has a big year, and he gets it in the top five.
7:52And, yes, they would love that Jeremiah Smith is a hell of a talent.
7:56And it's crazy that he's available at five, but they need a quarterback, and it's going to be hard to pass up on them.
8:03Nationwide is so much more than a great insurance company.
8:05They're one of America's largest financial services companies, just like I'm so much more than quarterback Peyton Manning.

8:35We're in on this Jets offense more than almost anybody.

9:20PLAYER to get that bet back bonus. Bet on anything, anytime, anywhere.
9:24You're welcome. I don't disagree. I don't know. I don't know.
9:27I don't know. I don't know. I don't know.
9:29I don't know. I don't know. San Diego Chargers, the same thing.
9:33Yep. Yep. All right, Titans. Who do we have?
9:35So we had the Titans going Trevor Goosby in our first one and then Jordan Seton in our second mock, which is a good pick.
9:42I might do the same thing. You'll have to see a trend develop.
9:46Yeah. I mean, they could go Cam Coleman. They could go either of the defensive linemen.
9:50They could go Cam Coleman. I mean, they drafted Cardinal Tate at five last year, but they need more weapons.
9:56And Cam Coleman gives them a little bit something different.
9:59I'm going to give them Jordan Seton, though. So I like the tackle pick for them.
10:03And Jordan Seton was just so good in week one against Clemson.
10:06I think he's going to be kind of the consensus offensive tackle one.
10:10And it just makes sense from a fit standpoint.
10:13Don't hate it whatsoever. Don't hate it at all.
10:15They're for the Houston Oilers, sticking with the bit.
10:18Atlanta, last time out we did Cam Coleman. Honestly, I think offensive tackle is a sneaky need for this team.
10:23Kind of taking a peek towards quarterback here. I don't know.
10:26CJ Carr was fine that first week against Wisconsin.
10:29But I don't know if it was good enough to go into top seven.
10:33But not a bad week. Sellers, I thought, was fine.
10:35But again, low level of comp. It's Kent State.
10:38It is what it is. But I do think he's still first-round type of talent.
10:42And then there's Trinidad Chambliss, which, spoiler alert, I'm probably going to get Trinidad somewhere here in the first round.
10:48But I don't know if I could pull the trigger on it here at seven.
10:52Yeah. But yeah, Atlanta's in a tough spot because the two-up Panix situation, the best-case scenario is Panix comes back healthy.
10:58And it's like, okay, cool. That's the guy we drafted at eight.
11:01That's how you get out of this purgatory. But otherwise, dude, I think, you know what?
11:06We've been kind of hating on Dylan Stewart. So just to mix it up, we've had Colin Simmons be the first edge in the last two mocks.
11:13Let's do Dylan Stewart here. And look, Jalen Walker, number six player on my board.
11:17I hope he comes back and it's 100%. I hope James Pierce gets his head screwed on right.
11:22Everyone phrased that. Imagine a pass rush where you could have all three of those guys on the field, especially with Jalen Walker, that on-ball, off-ball hybrid.
11:30You could do a whole lot of fun stuff.
11:32And Jeff Ulbrich has been a really creative schemer.
11:35And specifically, you look at what Caden Ellis is for that defense, specifically last year.
11:39Could that just become Jalen Walker? I don't know.
11:41I feel like Jeff Ulbrich, if there's a guy to make that three-headed monster work, it'd be Jeff Ulbrich.
11:47So just to mix it up here, let's have Stewart be edge one in this draft.
11:51And let's have him go to Atlanta here at seven.
11:54It's not crazy at all. I mean, you can never have too much pass rush.
11:58Dylan Stewart is a crazy athlete. And I will say, not that this is like the end-all, be-all for the pick, but
12:04specifically his athleticism, playing in a dome. Like I think about, who's the Colts' old GM?
12:09He wrote, Bill Pullian. Yeah, he used to talk about how he would want guys with like a sub-1-6 10-yard split.
12:15But he wanted Dwight for any types because we play in a dome.
12:18We're going to be up in the fourth quarter.
12:21I need you guys to tee off. Well, if the Falcons are playing with a lead, first step juice for Stewart is unmatched.
12:27Put him in a dome, could be a lot of fun.
12:30Absolutely. Absolutely. All right, Saints. I've said this like every time I've drafted for like the Saints and the Panthers.
12:36They're just going to take whoever is kind of the best prospect who fell to them.
12:40And I think we're just going to do the same thing.
12:43And Colin Simmons is just the best player available.
12:46Great player. Make it an easy pick. Love it.
12:48Yeah, and that's kind of where the advantage of the Saints right now.
12:52You're like a pretty good team. There's some young piece to be excited about.
12:56And every one of these mock drafts, it's just like there's a good enough player to fall to you at eight.
13:02You can just kind of stick and pick and you'll be happy with what you get.
13:06All right. Carolina Panthers. All right. This is a trickier team to draft for than I would have imagined.
13:12And nine specifically is the tough spot here. I think it's a little early to go corner.
13:16And that's the spot where I feel like they're getting a little old.
13:20So I could see them kind of going that way.
13:23I mean, did they just go Cam Coleman? I mean, Coleman with Tett McMillan.
13:27And Jalen Coker. And Coker's power slot. I mean, Xavier Gletta got, but he's just a guy.
13:31And they just drafted a tackle. And this has been a team that would have been nice if that edge rusher could have fallen to us.
13:39In some respect, it'd be kind of fun to go tight end here.
13:42But knowing Eric, you're a PFF background, they're not going to draft a tight end in the top 10.
13:48And also, you're not going to draft a tight end over Cam Coleman.
13:51But you know what? I think Taylor Motant. Isn't he hurt right now?
13:55Yeah, I think both their tackles are hurt, right?
13:57And then what's his contract? They did draft Freeling last year.
14:00And he's got flexibility on both sides of the line.
14:03Oh, okay. So yeah, I'm looking at Motant. Hold on.
14:06I'm trying to pull it up on SpotTrack. Not getting great details here.
14:10Okay, so he's under contract for a minute. Next year, if they cut him pre-June 1, they'd save $14 million for a 32-year-old tackle.
14:16I'm going to go Trevor Goosby here. Yeah. But Panthers fans, I apologize.
14:20Not a whole lot of super appealing options. I would have loved if one of the Leonard Moore fell to you, if
14:26one of the edge rushers fell to you. You could go Cam Coleman there.
14:30But I wonder if that's just a little redundant with how they're using Tet right now.
14:34And if you move Tet to power slot, where's Coker fit in the mix?
14:38So Goosby right now, he's played left and right tackle.
14:41I think you could feel pretty good about whether it's him, Freeling, no matter what.
14:45You're drafting a premium position inside the top 10.
14:48And you'll figure out who's playing which spot. But you have your tackle tandem set for the future.
14:53Kind of shades of what the Saints did two drafts ago and then three drafts ago with Banks and Fawaga.
14:58Yeah, I also think this draft is just the way it's shaping up is not the draft to get cute.
15:04Like take the blue chip talent. Take the blue chip talent that dropped to you.
15:08Figure out the rest later. And like you said, he's 32 years old.
15:12He's injured. You can get out of his contract.
15:14That seems to make sense. And secondly, and I'll let you make this pick here.
15:18The other thing, we're not doing two round mocks yet.
15:21So there's definitely a world where you get to the second round.
15:25And someone like Vicari Swain's one I really liked in the cornerback episode is available.
15:29Maybe it's DJ McKinney who continues to play well for Notre Dame.
15:32Maybe it's OJ Frederique or Sabian Brown or Kelly.
15:35You know, maybe someone's there top of the second round.
15:37All of a sudden it's like, oh, there's the corner.
15:40You know, so once we get deeper into the mock draft season and we start doing second and third rounds, you start
15:46to build an entire picture for what you're trying to do for a team.
15:50When you just do a first round, it's less picks, but sometimes it's harder because you're like narrowed into like just having one pick for a team.
15:58Anyways, I digress. For sure. No, that makes complete sense.
16:01All right, the Buccaneers. So the Buccaneers, I mean, Cam Coleman's still on the board.
16:05They do have a Mecca and Buka. Chris Godwin's getting older and hasn't been very effective, to be honest.
16:10Jay McMillan is fine. They did draft Ted Hurst last year.
16:13I don't know if I'm going to go Cam Coleman, but I think that would be in the – they'd be having that conversation for sure.
16:20If they didn't just draft Hurst, this would be a sprint to card and like we got our – Exactly.
16:26Yeah, I think Ted Hurst has looked pretty good in preseason and training camp, so they might want to see what they got.
16:32And Mike Baker now re-upped, so like that kind of takes the CJ Carr component, the Trinidad Chambliss component.
16:38Right, right. Yep, that is true. They just signed Vita Veya to an extension.
16:42We've been paying last year. Too early for a linebacker.
16:44This could be a corner for sure. Jacob Parrish, Zion McCollum, they have a corner.
16:49They did draft Benjamin Morrison. They have him in year two.
16:52Kante Scott in the slot. They're like just good enough to where like you look at the running and you're like not
16:58in glaring holes, but then you're like here at the 10th pick and you're like, fuck, like where's the right place to go?
17:04Yeah, I think last time we went tight – we had the same problem.
17:08We went with tight end. We wanted to trade as green, I remember.
17:12And they did sign – they do have Kade Onton who they just signed to an extension, right?
17:17But with the way – I don't know if the Buccaneers are going to be running like a lot of two tight ends.
17:23But that's kind of the way the NFL is going.
17:26So do you – Dude, do you just go guard and just like take your medicine here?
17:31Is this a Greg Johnson you plug him in at left guard and just say, hey, cool, now we're ready to roll.
17:37Or Anthony Knapp, is it Cade Pieper? Yeah, could be.
17:40The thing about – I mean, they do have a whole lot of – But taking Johnson over Coleman feels tough too.
17:46Yeah. I think this might just be a Cam Coleman spot and just be like, yeah, we got Ted Hurst.
17:51But he was also – was he a third-round pick?
17:54I don't know if that – Yeah. 83 overall.
17:57Unless he comes out this year and, you know, it looks amazing and, you know, catches 100 balls or whatever.
18:02But I would just – I'm just going to go Cam Coleman.
18:06Just get the best player available. And what I would say is Jason Light's already done something kind of like this before.
18:12Nobody in their right mind thought, make a book at 19 makes sense.
18:15That's the Bucs' next need. They need a fourth receiver.
18:18But lo and behold, just two years later, you're like, they got it, took a book out.
18:23What would that receiver room be without him? Right.
18:25And they drafted Nick Millen the year before that.
18:28They just drafted – I mean, Jason Light's one of those GMs who are like, I'm going to take my shot at
18:34a weapon if I like the player and the value meets it.
18:37Sure. And Cam Coleman at 10, brother. Like, again, we'll see after the Ohio State game.
18:42But I feel like we'll leave this weekend being like, dude, if you get him at 10, fired up.
18:47All right. Giants here at 11. Another team that – a couple different ways we could go here.
18:52I'm going to probably stick IDL. That's been what we've been working with with this team.
18:57I didn't love Will Eccles tape a week one, but I'm kind of thinking that might be a, like, fun nose tackle option.
19:03Amory Washington, same kind of thing. Flashes. Ahmad Moten was both our D-tackle one.
19:07And, I mean, I will say, like, apparently the Darius Alexander thing isn't really working out.
19:11So you could replace one three-tech for another with David Stone.
19:14But otherwise, man, like, another one of these teams where the roster is just good enough, kind of across the board.
19:20They could use another receiver. And honestly, you know what?
19:23That being said, let me just pull up the Giants depth chart just to make sure I'm not forgetting about a receiver.
19:29Yeah. Dude. I'm going to go Charlie Becker. I'm going to go Charlie Becker.
19:33I don't really care. Okay. If – You don't think Odell is going to be playing in 2027?
19:38For all our audio-only listeners, that was the largest eye roll you could have ever visualized right there.
19:43That came for me. You know, one, because, again, I'm just trying to explore different possibilities here, and we've done the IDL thing.
19:50Becker brings the speed. I mean, Neighbors is a big play threat.
19:53But in a perfect world, if you could tell me there's a chance where Becker is more of a Z, because you
19:59can just stick Fields as, like, your, you know, sacrificial X, Neighbors moves back into the slot where he had a lot
20:05of college production, that's a really explosive receiver room.
20:08I'd be really interested to see where that goes.
20:10Also, they could just take the supercharged version of Malachi Fields in the form of Nick Marsh.
20:15I wouldn't hate that whatsoever. So either the Indiana receivers, just to mix it up here, more firepower for the Giants.
20:21All right. Commander's on the clock at 12. I am – who did we pick for them last time?
20:26We picked – Becker. Yep, sure. Charlie Becker and then Jamari Jansen the first time.
20:30So two weapons for Jaden Daniels. I'm also going to give Jaden Daniels a weapon, but maybe a different one than people are expecting.
20:37I'm going to give them Jane Ball. They need a running – I mean, Ja'Kory Krosky-Meritt is fine.
20:42You know, they have Rashad White. They drafted Catron Island of the sixth, but give them Jaden Ball with Jane Daniels in
20:48the backfield and just watch that offense kind of explode.
20:51Dude, and we hit it on in the running back episode, but some of the cuts he was just making this last week.
20:57That's a top 10 running back prospect. Yeah, 100%.
21:00He may not be blue chip like Dijon love right now, but like he's making a case to try to get right in that vicinity.
21:07All right. So then we get back to the Jets, and that's kind of – I'm gaming the system here.
21:12You know, we went Leonard Moore at three, so we passed up the quarterback.
21:16In a perfect world, this would have been a great spot for Darian Mensah.
21:20Like I feel – I mean, I'm still kind of questioning what the upside of Mensah's game is.
21:25So now we've got the ultimate kind of crapshoot.
21:28You could go with Lenora Sellers, go with the upside play.
21:31I don't know if that's totally a Frank Reich guy.
21:34Part of me is like, dude, Aaron Glenn, the 5'9 corner.
21:37He would love Trinidad Jambliss. He would love to have Trinidad.
21:40But I'm going to go chalk here, and I'm going to go CJ Carr.
21:44That to me is like Frank Reich, quarterback through and through, standing there, deliver a hit, reads the field well, strong enough arm.
21:50Not all-world arm, but like strong enough, accurate, plays with timing, anticipation.
21:53The Jim Furyk comp, which we had back in the quarterback episode.
21:57He's a little boring, but I think right now, frankly, if you're the Jets, that's boring but stable at quarterback, you'll take it.
22:03So let's go CJ Carr. I think he'll be more of a 28 guy, but we'll find out over the next couple
22:09of weeks because, honestly, Notre Dame's got some tough matchups coming up, and we'll find out sooner rather than later on Carr.
22:15Yeah, if you didn't take Carr there, I probably would have given him to the Steelers.
22:20Yeah. I don't know if there's going to be another quarterback.
22:23You're now wishing that you wouldn't have done it.
22:26Carr would have made it. Frankly, dude, if you did Trinidad, I wouldn't hate it.
22:30Or Lenoris. It's like either one. I think it's still valid here.
22:33I think it's a little too early for both of those guys.
22:36Well, maybe. I'm not going to rule it out, but I would honestly probably go Sellers, I think, is where I would
22:43go if I did pick a quarterback, just because that's the type of player who could rise and get into the top
22:4915, whereas Trinidad and Chambliss might go first round, but I'm thinking it'd be more like back end.
22:54His size limits how high you think he might go.
22:56Yeah, I hear you. I'm looking at the Steelers depth chart.
23:00I might need some help. Do you think guard could be in play for them?
23:04I got Mason McCormick. I don't know how good he's been.
23:07McCormick's been solid, but this is going to be a year where we see more of him, just given Isaac Samalu.
23:13He was our starting left guard. He's now in Arizona.
23:15Okay. He drafted Jennings Dunker. He has been playing guard, so that's a good thing.
23:20Right now, Spencer Anderson's our slotted right guard with Brock Hoffman backing him up, so guard away here if you want.
23:25Guard would be in play, you think? If that's the case, I'm going to go Greg Johnson.
23:30I think that's... And then, frankly, dude, Jennings, college right tackle, move him over to the right side again, play right guard.
23:36That would make a lot more sense to me in and of itself.
23:40Or before we go Greg Johnson, since you're the Steelers guy, do you think they'd be more interested in Johnson or Napp?
23:46Because I could go either one. Who do you...
23:49Great question. For McCarthy, I would say... I mean, honestly, I think they'd love both of them.
23:53I'd probably go Johnson. I think they might prioritize the athleticism.
23:56Again, kind of Mason McCormick, his movement skills, even Maxie Inacho, how he moves for Pagotano.
24:01Feels like since Omar Khan's become our GM, we've prioritized athleticism and offensive linemen just a smidge more.
24:06And I think McCarthy will as well. So I would probably say Greg Johnson, just because I think he's a little more fleet of foot.
24:13But let's go with him. I think that means that's going to...
24:16If you put Greg Johnson on the right side, and you got Greg Johnson and Ian Asher next to him, and Zach
24:22Frazier at center, that's a nice one. Yeah. And they could go peeper, because again, the movement skills there, but Johnson's 325.
24:29So you get the movement skills without sacrificing the mauler.
24:31Yeah. That's a Steeler in the making. And frankly, I think the Steelers would have taken Vega Ioane if he had fallen into their lap.
24:38So this is almost like we're getting Vega. Not quite one-to-one comp there.
24:42But you could see where if they liked one guy, I could see them liking the other.
24:47For sure. All right. Minnesota Vikings. Screw it. I'm doing Trinidad Jambles.
24:50I mean, yeah. He can learn. He's a perfect quarterback to learn behind Kyler Murray.
24:54I think Kyler's going to end up being a one-year thing.
24:57I was just trying to make a short quarterback.
25:00In a situation where the Steelers just took a guard at 14, Kyler Murray might be in fucking Pittsburgh.
25:05For all I know, he might be in the South City.
25:08Very well. But frankly, I am kind of using this and we haven't seen how the Kyler experiment's gone with KOC.
25:14But he looked pretty good with Josh Dobbs. And Kyler should be a way more potent version of that.
25:19And frankly, Trinidad Jambles at this point, he has rised above every expectation and every shortcoming.
25:24Shortcoming. No pun intended. You would have for someone who's sub-six foot.
25:27He sees the middle of the field really well.
25:30He's got a stronger arm than you would think for someone who's at or below six foot.
25:34So I could see a world where KOC is like, yeah, he's a little short, but man, he's a playmaker.
25:40He's got the mobility. He's got the arm strength I'm looking for.
25:43We'll make it work. I don't know. Could be a gamble, though, because there's a lot of throws over the middle of the field.
25:50So it may look good in college. May turn into Bryce Young, where you don't really see a whole lot of that on Bryce Young's state right now.
25:58Yeah. At the NFL level, I should say. And with O'Connell, he's not going to want to draft a developmental prospect.
26:04Yeah, I think he's passed that at this point.
26:06So like him and sellers? I think he'd take change, let's be honest.
26:10Yeah, because he might not be able to actually see the fruits of his labor with a developmental prospect, even though I think he's a great coach.
26:17It's just kind of the situation we're in right now.
26:20And if there was a world 10 months from now where you're telling me, hey, they got Kyler to come back.
26:26They franchise tagged him. They learned from the Sam Darnold miss out.
26:29They tag him. Okay, then I could be into like, hey, let's.
26:33But that being said, you could also partner up another sub six foot quarterback with another, you know, like, yeah, either way,
26:39you could sell me on where that mentor mentee relationship makes sense.
26:42Sellers or Chambliss, but we'll see how it plays out with that quarterback room in Minnesota.
26:47But honestly, Chambliss is a gambler and his tape right now.
26:50He's going to keep moving up my board, man.
26:52Even with the size limitations. I just love the player.
26:55Absolutely. All right. Jaguars on the clock at 16.
26:57Office is looking pretty good. Even though, yeah, the offense is not looking too bad.
27:02I think it's a little, they could maybe go with a tackle, but it's a little too early for any of the tackles, I'd say.
27:09Nationwide is so much more than a great insurance company.
27:11They're one of America's largest financial services companies. Just like I'm so much more than quarterback Peyton Manning.
27:16I'm also Peyton Manning. Insurance and financial services together.
27:19It's a masterpiece. Peyton Manning does it again. For your insurance and financial needs, Nationwide is on your side.
27:24Nationwide Investment Services Corporation. Ember Finra, Columbus, Ohio. Football is back, baby.
27:28And whether you've been betting for years or you're just looking to put a little action on the games, my bookie needs
27:34to be added to your list of places to go line shopping.
27:37We've been talking about the teams we like and don't like for months.
27:41We're in on this Jets offense more than almost anybody.
27:43And we're terrified of this Falcons offense. Even though you got Bijan, you got Kyle Pitts, you got Drake London.
27:49But you got two bad left-handed quarterbacks. And you certainly don't need to be telling some fake betting expert on social media.
27:55Go to my bookie and find the plays you already know you like and take a shot.
28:00That's what's cool about my bookie. You can find the action you want and bet it wherever you are when the game kicks off.
28:07And if you're new to the club, the bet back bonus gives you protection on your first play.
28:12Sign up with promo code PLAYER to opt into the bet back bonus and take your first shot with a safety net.
28:18If your wager loses, you get it right back.
28:20No questions asked. Football is finally here. Get in now and cash in on the season with my bookie with promo code
28:26PLAYER to get that bet back bonus. Bet on anything, anytime, anywhere.
28:30You're welcome. Defense. They could go with defensive tackle.
28:32I think we did give them a defensive tackle at one point.
28:36Could definitely go linebacker. Honestly, this could be a situation where Chris Cole is a player that could end up being a top 16 pick.
28:43If I did go linebacker. I don't know if he necessarily fits exactly what the Jaguars defense want to do.
28:48I'm not going to pretend to be an expert on the Jaguars defense.
28:52But he'd be the type of linebacker that could go in the top 20.
28:56Totally. For sure. Maybe a corner. They have Hunter, obviously.
28:59But beyond that, Jordan Lewis is okay. I don't even know who Monteric Brown is.
29:03But that doesn't mean he's not good. He's coming off a solid year.
29:06But sometimes there's a little buyer beware there. They sign him back in free and see off for his best year in the league.
29:13It's like, I don't know. Also, I will say they run a lot of zone coverage.
29:17I feel like Ellis Robinson. I haven't thought about that, to be honest.
29:21But Ellis Robinson would be a solid scheme fit.
29:24All right. I'll go with Ellis Robinson then. Because cornerback, I feel like they can upgrade that.
29:28And now we're also getting to the point where we've kind of gone off the board a little bit.
29:34And some of these guys are falling. So you just got to take the best player available.
29:38Totally. Totally. And to that point, they have Travis Hunter on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball on the depth chart.
29:45So if they're going to keep trying to do that, it's probably good to have three corners, including Hunter, in and of itself.
29:52Yeah. All right. Looking at the Jets' offensive line here.
29:54Josh Myers at center is fine. Joe Tippman is coming off a good year at right guard.
29:59I'm a Dylan Parham guy. I'm a fan of his game.
30:02But I can see this team going Anthony Knapp in this spot.
30:05I can maybe see them. Maybe Cade Piper. But.
30:08Or Peeper. Whichever one. Whichever pronunciation you prefer. But Reich, I think, would lean towards Knapp.
30:12Another team that could go linebacker. And honestly, like Chris Cole.
30:16To learn from Demario Davis that they got him to come back.
30:19It'd be a lot of fun. And like elite outcome for Chris Cole, in my mind.
30:23And the depth behind him is pretty rough, too.
30:26So I'm kind of between Chris Cole and guard here.
30:29We also. We could just go fun and go super sane with this team.
30:33And go Nick Marsh. Have a true X receiver.
30:35Yeah, you know what? I'm going to go Marsh.
30:38Also, because we've done Marsh the Chiefs the last few times.
30:41I do want to mix up his landing spot.
30:43And Marsh, as advertised last week. You know, albeit against Ball State.
30:46But as advertised. Everything you would expect. And kind of what we hyped up.
30:50That's what we saw last Saturday. And if he's your X.
30:53You move on from the Adnay Mitchell experiment. It was kind of a free risk to take with the sauce trade.
30:59And then it's Cooper Jr., Garrett Wilson. Whoever's the Z.
31:02The other one's the slot. With Marsh. Your rookie quarterback at 13.
31:05I mean, two tight ends. Brees Hall plus Braylon Allen.
31:08I mean, that is a fun offense right there.
31:11Sands Frank Reich, to be honest. That's the one component that I don't love.
31:15And then I think in this world. Like, you'd be looking at some of these day two guard options.
31:20And hoping someone, I don't really know. I haven't dialed too deep into the guard class.
31:24But someone like Charles Jagu saw maybe. Someone on day two.
31:27So, I think you could wait on interoperative line.
31:30Let's be honest. That's a position you typically can't wait until day two and get a solid player at.
31:35Yeah. Much easier to find a guard on day two for sure.
31:39All right. Bears on the clock. We've given them a D-tackle both times, I believe.
31:43David Stone and Will Elkos we went with. So, I'm going to go a little bit different.
31:48Not too different. I'm still going to stick on the defensive line.
31:51We've typically not drafted a lot of edge rushers in our mocks.
31:54We would go Colin Simmons, Dylan Stewart in the top ten.
31:57And then we've kind of waited on edge rushers.
32:00Yeah. But I'm going to go with an edge rusher.
32:03But not... I'm going to go with Yonsei Pierre from Alabama.
32:06I think that's a guy who can get into this first-round range.
32:09He might not necessarily exactly fit what Dennis Allen likes, just from a size standpoint.
32:13Because Dennis Allen has crazy size thresholds. But from a skill set standpoint, I do think he fits what Dennis Allen wants.
32:19A guy who's stronger against the run. Long arms.
32:22And he has actually got some pass rush juice.
32:24And the Bears desperately need pass rush juice. So, I'm going to go with him.
32:29Just to do something a little different. Well, I'd like that.
32:32And I would love it for Dennis Allen. Because it makes me kind of think about when Nick Benito first broke out in Denver.
32:38He was like the antithesis of what Vance Joseph has typically liked in his edge rushers.
32:43Or at least liked them to look like. But then he was like so good.
32:47They couldn't take him off the field. Yeah. And it's almost been like one of those things where like if you have
32:53enough of what the DC wants, you can kind of get away.
32:56It's almost like the 80-20 eating rule. If you eat clean 80% of the time, you can get away with 20% of junk food.
33:03That's almost this. We're like we got pretty much a defense that looks like what Dennis Allen wants.
33:08And then if you get that one wild card.
33:11That one change up. And it was Yonsei Pierre.
33:13I think that could work. And I think if the Bears go this season and don't get any pressure on the quarterback
33:19again for a second straight year, I think Ben Johnson will pull Dennis out on the side and be like, we're going
33:25to draft a guy with some juice. You're going to make it work.
33:29So that's what's going to happen here. All right.
33:32That takes us to the Cincinnati Bengals. Offensive lines in play here.
33:35This could be an Anthony Knapp spot or a Kate Peeper.
33:38They did just draft Connor Liu. They also drafted the kid from Duke last year.
33:42Tackle converted into your offensive line. And Brian Park.
33:45Yeah. Brian Park the second. You know, they didn't do it last draft.
33:48And I really and a lot of people thought they might end up drafting one.
33:53So let's have this be our linebacker spot. And we'll plant our flag on because one Vila Amu also sounds like he'll
33:59be potentially back this week, if not this week, next week for Notre Dame.
34:03So and love that he's in here twice. He's just that good.
34:06He's got to be in the simulator twice. But Sammy Brown's a sick athlete, but I think it's still a work in
34:12progress from like a pure linebacker instincts. Chris Cole is the guy who's got like the size, the physicality, the athleticism.
34:18Like he's got close to the full package. So there's a linebacker to go top 20.
34:22I'm firm firmly thinking it's Chris Cole. And he's the kind of thumper.
34:26I like Demetrius Knight for the Bengals, but I think they can use a thumper next to him with his sideline to sideline speed.
34:33Yeah, I like that. All right, Cowboys on the clock at 20.
34:36We've given them a de-tackle. We've given them a running back.
34:39But Jamie Ball is off the board. So don't think we're going to go that direction.
34:44Could still go de-tackle. Could still – what else we got?
34:47Could go with an edge as well. Could go IDL.
34:49Did we do that last time? Yeah, we did that.
34:52One of them we didn't. Could also go tight end.
34:55And, I mean, Jake Ferger – I mean, that – George Bick and CeeDee Lamb and then a really good tight end,
35:01that's going to be really hard to counter. And we haven't drafted a tight end yet.
35:06So at pick 20, you're – and I think there are two tight ends worth drafting in the first round.
35:11So at pick 20, you're getting a guy who probably should go higher.
35:15And you get your pick of them. It's not like you're getting your second choice either.
35:19So I'm going to go with tight end. I'm just deciding who I want to go with here.
35:24Jermire Johnson obviously is extremely talented. More of like an all-around, do-it-all tight end.
35:28And trade out of screen more of just like a receiver.
35:31I think I'm going to go Jermire Johnson, though, because I think they have pickings and lamb as receivers.
35:37So you want a guy who can be a receiving threat but also do other stuff as well.
35:42It just seems more like a Cowboys pick to go with Jermire Johnson.
35:45I like it. Jermire Johnson. And they've also – like they drafted Schoonmaker right after they drafted Ferguson.
35:50Like this is not a team that's been afraid to draft tight ends if they like the player.
35:55But they also can cut Ferguson next year. I was just looking at his contract, and they saved $7 million on a 28-year-old tight end.
36:02And I can see a world where they're ready to just make Schoonmaker and someone else the focal points.
36:08Or you draft Jermire Johnson and Ferguson becomes expendable that way.
36:11All right. The Detroit Lions. Has this been a team we've typically gone corner for?
36:15We've gone Ashton-Hapton both times for the Lions, which we said we really love that fit.
36:19So if you want to go for it again, I might have to go for it again.
36:24You're also right. We have kind of ignored edge in a lot of these mock drafts.
36:28And look, I like Derek Moore, but I don't know if him and DJ Wadham is totally answering that edge two question.
36:35And frankly, even if Derek Moore is really good, it doesn't hurt you to have a third one.
36:40Considering this is an explosive offense or me playing with a lead a lot.
36:43I don't hate the idea of a third guy.
36:46I just don't know who that third guy would be.
36:49To go with someone like a Derek Moore and an Aiden Hutchinson, like Mateo Uyanglile.
36:53He's not sexy, but he would fit as that third guy in that mix.
36:57Hard to be kind of like where they go Damon Wilson Jr.
37:00and just go for the upside. Or Jordan Ross, who had a big week, week one.
37:05Could be a guy who sneaks in their first round.
37:07I don't hate that. My only concern there is like Hutch, he's fine against the run.
37:12Ross still kind of filled out his frame. Let me look at their O-line too.
37:16Let me make sure I'm not forgetting a need there.
37:19Because this is another team too, like Christian Mahogany left guard, Miles Frazier, Brent Bartsch.
37:23Oh man, do they just go Anthony and Ab?
37:26I mean, they run a lot of zones, so that's like, and I think Napp would be fine.
37:31Well, they got, I mean, Mahogany and Ratlidge are pretty good, but they do have Juice Scruggs.
37:35This could be like a Piper situation because he could play center or guard.
37:39Didn't they sign Cade Mays? What happened to that?
37:42I'm looking at the depth chart. I'm looking at our lads and I don't see him.
37:46What happened? He's injured, it looks like. So, I don't know.
37:49I don't know how long he could, yeah, he could be back soon, but.
37:53Okay. Man, see, that's where injury is like, it's already kind of muddying the waters here.
37:58Yeah. Piper would be nice because it's like totally a zone fit, but guard center flexibility is kind of nice there.
38:04Mm-hmm. We'll come back to that. I don't think we've drafted a safety yet, honestly.
38:08Oh, no, never mind. Sorry. I'm looking at it and they injured guys.
38:11I forgot about Kirby Joseph and Brian Branch. They're probably not on safety.
38:15Never mind. I'll stick with the Ashton Hampton pick.
38:17I hate to do it three times in a row, but honestly, it's like a home run, like willing tackler, man press
38:24specialist if they want him to, but also really good athlete.
38:27Solid eyes. I think he could be just fine in a lot of zone if they ended up continuing that trend under Kelvin Shepard.
38:33So, I think he's fine either way. It's a little boring to do it three straight times.
38:38So, Lions fans, I apologize, but you're getting an awesome player in my CV too.
38:42We're going to be doing a lot of mocks.
38:45There'll be a different. Well, eventually, Ashton. And at least we talked about other positions.
38:49All right. Eagles on the clock. They desperately need a safety.
38:52So, it's just who is the Vic Fangio safety?
38:55Is it KJ Bolden or is it Tay Johnson?
38:57I think KJ Bolden does fit, but I'll go.
39:00Yeah, we'll just go. We'll go Bolden. That just seems like a Vic Fangio guy.
39:04It is. I mean, Tay Johnson's a good tackler.
39:06And it sounds like the injury is pretty minimal.
39:09It sounds like he'll be back sooner rather than later.
39:12But, like, KJ Bolden and his willingness to trigger downhill and tackle, to me, it's like another level.
39:17So, like, to me, he screams Vic Fangio. San Francisco 49ers.
39:20This could be the peeper spot. Carver Willis slated to play at left guard tonight.
39:24Okay. We will see how that goes. I did not like the tape, and I did not like him at the Senior
39:30Bowl, to be completely honest with you. But, Jared Patterson, actually, do you think, like, that's a solid buy low at center for them.
39:37Go Irish. And then Dominic Cooney's there at right guard.
39:39I think they're okay at receiver, assuming everything. Well, actually, I don't know.
39:43They could use one more guy, even with Stribbling.
39:46And then you got Mike Evans. They could definitely go wide receiver.
39:49For sure. I think we've given them wide receiver.
39:51Look, KJ Duff. Like, also, like, I don't think I'll do it because, like, I'm pretty sure the Mike Evans deal was a three-year contract.
39:58But if Mike Evans is a one-year deal, I'd be going KJ Duff here just to replace that.
40:03But, man, after what we saw from him week one, is this Deuce Alexander?
40:07Is this, like, the field-stretching speed guy? Stribbling is the boring slot.
40:11He ran a 4-3-6, but I don't think his usage is going to tie into that as much.
40:16And then Mike wins down the field, but in a different way.
40:19And, like, we've had a mock where they went Coleman-Williams, but, like, to be completely honest, I almost wonder if, like, Deuce
40:25ends up being who we've kind of described Coleman-Williams as.
40:28So it's been fun. Let's go Deuce Alexander there.
40:31If you didn't pick Deuce Alexander, I would have picked him at some point in these next couple picks.
40:36Maybe even for the Patriots, potentially. Call it a week one college overreaction in my draft, if you will.
40:41I love it. I love it. All right, the Patriots.
40:44So we got just a fresh look at the Patriots yesterday.
40:47Let me just get off my soapbox. Drake made it not lose the Patriots that game.
40:51Did he play perfect? No. Mario Dobbs is a killer drop.
40:55A couple other decisions and, like, play-calling things I would question.
40:58That game was not entirely on Drake made. I just had to get that off my soapbox.
41:02All the major networks were killing me today. No, you're wrong.
41:05Actually, Drake May is a bum. And it's probably going to be cut this offseason, I think, is going to be what happens.
41:12I will say, as much as I hate Twitter, some of the Twitter, like, Drake May when he's under pressure.
41:17Like, some of the work that I saw today on Twitter was like, I don't agree with you, but I got to give it up to you.
41:25That's hilarious. Yeah. That happens a lot where you're like, I don't like to take, but that is funny.
41:30That is funny. Objectively, that's funny. Yeah. All right.
41:33So, Patriots. So, what do they need? I mean, Romeo Dobbs, that's looking like a rough signing.
41:37I don't know if they can get out of that contract.
41:41So, if they did want it. But Matt Collins, I think, plays well.
41:44They have Kyle Williams. Jamiro Douglas is bad. AJ Brown's going to be there.
41:48I mean, he got a little banged up, but it sounds like he's going to be fine.
41:53So, probably not going to go wide receiver. Offensive line is good.
41:56I don't think we need that. Corner, someone opposite Christian Gonzalez.
41:59I mean, they have Carlton Davis. I don't know how long did they sign him for.
42:04I think they can get rid of him after this year.
42:07But also, it's just like, even with Davis, he's been injured a lot.
42:10I don't know. And their corner depth behind them is Channing Canada, Karan Prudy.
42:14Yeah. I'm kind of reaching a straws here. I can't act like I know who those people are.
42:19Yeah. Corner's looking like the play. I'm trying to think of a way.
42:23Yeah. Corner looks like it. Because I like their safety room a lot.
42:27Yeah. This would have been a fun Chris Cole landing spot, just for what it's worth.
42:31Him and Robert Splane just chopping it up in the middle of the field would be awesome.
42:36Just two hammers making everything look like a nail.
42:38Yeah. I think I'm going to go corner, though.
42:41Could be Kelly Jones. I think Kelly Jones across from Christian Gonzalez.
42:44It's pretty good. I'm trying to... These are the cornerbacks.
42:47I mean, I like Zabian Brown a lot. I don't know if he's a first-round corner.
42:51OJ got hurt for the season, I think. So he's probably not going to be in that conversation.
42:56Yeah. Let's go. Let's go Kelly Jones. Yeah. I think that's what we did last time.
43:01And I made this joke. But I'll say it again just in case.
43:04Kelly Jones and Christian Gonzalez. That is an insane tandem on the outside.
43:08I love it. I absolutely love it. And frankly, if they had Carlton Davis healthy and they could have all three of
43:14those guys on the field at the same time, let's go.
43:17That would be sick. All right. Chargers. Let's keep it a buck.
43:21Their inter-offensive line is still a mess right now.
43:23They could go Anthony Knapp. And that's kind of where this is honestly a little tough.
43:28Knapp would give them a little bit of tackle flexibility.
43:30Mm-hmm. Peeper gives them guard center flexibility. And they've had injuries at both of those spots.
43:35And they need to get better at both those spots.
43:38Hmm. I think I might go NAP just because I always saw Slaughter as a center.
43:42Like, when they announced that pick as a guard, I was like, is there a different Jake Slaughter I didn't watch or something?
43:49Yeah. Like, what am I missing here? So I think I'm going to go NAP.
43:53And frankly, at this point, I think NAP might be a smidge better than Piper.
43:57And I've been on Cade Piper for a couple years now.
44:00I'm a huge Cade Piper fan. But honestly, after what I saw last week, I think NAP is like, that guy looks like an NFL-ready tackle.
44:07They also had really good, or NFL-ready guard. They also had good success drafting off the Notre Dame offensive line last time around.
44:14So let's see history sort of repeat itself in the form of Anthony NAP.
44:18Yeah. I like that pick. And they might just have PTSD.
44:21Like, we can't have a situation where both of our tackles get hurt again.
44:25And we have absolutely no one. NAP could play there in a pinch.
44:28Right. And like, as much as guards have become, like, they're making 20-plus million dollars a year nowadays.
44:33Like, guards are valuable in and of themselves. At the same time, like, in a pinch, would you rather figure out left guard or left tackle?
44:40Like, oh, I don't love this option. Who would you rather be?
44:44Where would that person be? You'd rather that person be at left guard than left tackle.
44:48But yeah, problematic in and of itself, too. Chiefs fans will tell you that.
44:52All right. Houston Texans. So who do we got?
44:55Who did we go with them last time? We went with Jaden Ball, who's not available.
44:59And then the first time we went with Anthony NAP, who's also not available.
45:03Damn, we had Anthony NAP in the first round that early.
45:06Oh, dude. Yeah. At pick 21, by the way, because the order has changed a little bit.
45:11So pretty high. Nobody knows Ball, like the Draft Capital podcast.
45:14That's all I am. Absolutely. Yeah. I'm clipping that.
45:16I'm clipping that. They could go tight end. I mean, Dalton Schultz.
45:20I mean, Trey Ness Green's still on the forward.
45:22Yeah, he is. They could go tight end. I don't hate that.
45:26I don't hate that at all. They could go interior offensive linemen, for sure.
45:30They did draft Keelan Rutledge this year, who I think is a good player.
45:33They have Ed and Grimm, though. Yeah, look at Trey Ness Green.
45:37Give him more weapons. I love it, actually. Yeah.
45:39Yeah. All right. Denver Broncos would have loved Trey Ness Green, too.
45:43So, like, low-key, you kind of signed me there.
45:45When you say Joker, like, Trey Ness Green is that and then some.
45:49Right. And at 6'7", can jump out of the gym.
45:52Like, he would have been, like, a Jimmy Graham, low-key kind of clone.
45:55Yeah. Not one-to-one, but, like, sort of. Let me look at the Denver D line.
45:59Zach Allen got an extension, right? I believe so.
46:02Roach, Zach Allen. If that's the case. And even if he didn't, they are probably going to bring him.
46:07They're not going to let him go. Yeah. A four-year contract in August of 2025.
46:11So, he's at least got at least another year.
46:14Because I'm looking at David Stone, and I wasn't the world's biggest David Stone fan.
46:18Oh, true. But also, Amon Moten, Will Eccles. Mario, we've honestly neglected the interior defensive line.
46:23Absolutely have. Wow. I haven't even been looking at the players.
46:26I've just been kind of finding, like, my guys.
46:28So, yeah. No, no. That makes sense. Totally get it.
46:31I know they extended bowls as well. Yeah, this would have been a good team to take a tight end for.
46:37But, ultimately, I will say, for what it's worth, looks like a solid tight end class.
46:41I think there's some depth options as well. And don't hate on my boy, Justin Jolie.
46:46I don't currently see him on this RLADS depth chart.
46:48But he's with me in spirit. That's all I'm asking.
46:51I believe they cut him, didn't they? No. Don't tell me that.
46:55Don't tell me that. He got claimed by the Dolphins, I want to say.
46:59All right. Well, I've never been a bigger fan of the Dolphins until right now.
47:03I could be wrong. It could be another team.
47:05But I'm pretty sure. I'm going to go with Ahmad Moten.
47:08DJ Jones is getting up there in age. And they might just want to go for the true three-tech replacement of Maury Washington or Will Eccles.
47:16Jones getting up there. I think he's about to turn 32 years old.
47:19So, I could see a world where they're looking for a new nose.
47:23But also, for passing down situations, I think Moten could be your early down nose.
47:27And then play some passing down three-tech work if you don't want Malcolm Roach, say, on the field.
47:32So, I think Ahmad Moten could be two birds, one stone there for the Broncos.
47:36He's too good to pass up at 27. I'm going to be honest.
47:40I thought he went earlier. So, I would have definitely taken him for the Bears at 18.
47:45I was going to say, he would have been a great pick for the Bears.
47:49But we have been going IDL. But, yeah. He's too good to pass up there.
47:53I like that pick. All right. The Chiefs on the clock.
47:56We've given him Nick Marsh two times in a row.
47:59Nick Marsh is not available. But they do need an X still.
48:02So, they could go like a KJ Duff maybe.
48:05I think that's a little high for him. Yeah.
48:07To be honest. But let's try and give him something else just because we've given him a wide receiver a couple times.
48:13What else do they need? Let's take a look.
48:16Could go with offensive line. I mean, Josh Simmons, we don't really know what's happening in that situation.
48:21Kingsley, Su, and Mataya is at left guard. Yeah.
48:23We've got Jalen Moore on the right side. Diego Pons.
48:26Yeah. Who are the tackles? Who are the offensive linemen that are available?
48:30Specifically tackles. Yeah. Because even that Simmons situation right now is like.
48:33Yeah. I think they, yeah. We don't, we don't.
48:36I mean, I love Josh Simmons. But it doesn't seem, you know what?
48:39I actually, I got a pick here that I like a lot.
48:43Give him Melvin Ciani. The other Texas tackle. I think he has a chance to go in the first round.
48:48Got a big game this weekend against Kenyatta Jackson and Ohio State.
48:51I think he's going to be more on the national radar after this game.
48:55I like him kind of in the first round range.
48:58I agree with you. A little late to his tape, but that's a damn good football player.
49:03Yeah. And he's got all the tools you really want.
49:06So like, yeah. Have him at right tackle. Hopefully Josh Simmons and all that gets sorted out.
49:10He's your left tackle. But then you can also bring back Jalen Moore if you needed like a swing option.
49:16Left tackle in a pinch. I like that pick a lot, actually.
49:19And also, I think I finally got around to watching Trevor Lauk.
49:23I think he might be more of a guard.
49:25Carter Smith's firmly a guard to me. Sierra Ville is playing guard this year.
49:29I'm interested in J'Karius Peake. He just hasn't played this year.
49:32PJ Williams, I think is good. And I thought he looked pretty good the other night against.
49:37Who did they play? SMU and who did they play?
49:40I watched that game like seven times because I was watching two players.
49:43And I honestly couldn't. Oh, Florida State. SMU, Florida State.
49:46Yeah, it was Florida State. Yeah. And I thought he looked good.
49:49But I don't know about first round just yet.
49:52And then Caden Green, I think he might be a guard.
49:55But I don't hate the tackle tape. And then Prongos hasn't played yet.
49:59Prongos would be an interesting one there for the Chiefs.
50:01For sure. Anyways, just giving options there for Kansas City.
50:04Baltimore Ravens. I don't hate stick to the model recommending corner here.
50:08Especially with what's-his-face just getting older and older. Marlon Humphrey and Jadobie Awuzie.
50:11Not necessarily like your top, especially at his age.
50:14You don't love having to play him. TJ Tampa's been forgettable.
50:17Kyle Hamilton, Nate Wiggins. Yeah. And they keep drafting edge rusher.
50:20So I feel like I'm okay there. Zion Young.
50:22Ethan Burke even was like a solid player for Texas.
50:25Mike Green, Trey Hendrickson. Okay. And then Nnamdi Matabuike.
50:28We'll see how he plays this year. But if he's back to normal.
50:31Oh, man. You know what's tough, though? Especially for, you know, and you know this even better than me.
50:37But Declan Doyle coming from Chicago. And the center position right now for the Ravens.
50:41Yeah. I guess almost kind of has to be Cade Peeper.
50:44Yeah, I like that. As much as I'd love to go corner.
50:47Let's just say in this world, someone like OJ Frederik off injury or I don't know who really.
50:52Kerry Swain could be an option here. Boo Carter I thought had a solid week one.
50:57I think TJ McKinney. Like, I would definitely keep an eye on him.
51:00I think he'll rise up boards sooner rather than later.
51:03Even Jermaine Matthews I could see being an interesting name to know this year.
51:07There's other corner options that I could see being presented.
51:10If you miss out on Peeper here, like, you're going to be waiting a while on a center.
51:15Maybe you get Iopani Lalolu. But I would just take the swing on Peeper here.
51:19And he's a perfect fit for a wide zone heavy offense like O'Doyle.
51:23Or Declan Doyle is going to be running in Baltimore now.
51:26Yeah, absolutely. The Bears just drafted Loga Jones as their summer center.
51:29Oh, yeah. And then Ken Piper to the Ravens with Declan Doyle.
51:32It makes sense. And previous Iowa center who went 25th overall is Tyler Linderbaum.
51:36Drafted by the Ravens. So there's a little bit of a pipeline there.
51:40Yeah. Just Iowa. You can't go wrong drafting Iowa.
51:42Iowa, Notre Dame. Those are the two places. All right.
51:45Seahawks. So we've given them an edge both times.
51:48Damon Wallace, DeMatteo, Yugo Lele. Yugo Lele. Because their defense looked terrible yesterday.
51:51I mean, God, 10 points to New England. God, what a terrible.
51:5510 points to one of the highest scoring offenses last year.
51:58Yeah. I mean, we've gone over this like every time with Seattle.
52:01They could literally go with any prospect because it's just getting depth because they don't have really any holes.
52:06So I don't know if David Stone would really fit what they want, though.
52:10But I was thinking the same thing. I was like, dude, David Stone and O'More Washington.
52:15Like, I don't know if we can let them get past Seattle because I think Mike Mack would be like, I'll figure it out.
52:22Right. That's yeah. I mean, I think I'm going to go David Stone just for that reason.
52:26Like he's the 10th overall player. Yeah. He doesn't have to start right away.
52:30You know, you can kind of just have him in a rotation, bring him in on third downs and stuff.
52:36Like, yeah, let's go David Stone. Yeah. I think I would lean Amore there.
52:40But like, frankly, if you're Seattle and both of those guys are staring you in the face with what we know about
52:46those prospects and what we know about Seattle right now, I think you're static.
52:50I think you're over the middle about that. All right.
52:52Buffalo. This would have been a fun Deuce Alexander team, to be completely honest.
52:56Just like his explosiveness and Josh Allen's arm. Sign me up for all of that.
53:01All right. Let me double check. Kind of curious.
53:03Tackle comes up as the top need on stick to the model.
53:06They just drafted Jude Bowery. Spencer Brown's been a good player getting better year over year.
53:11I'm much Reed Adams, I think, is a sneaky like back of guard for this team.
53:15Good scheme fit. Kind of like poor man's Osiris Torrance in a lot of ways.
53:20Lloyd Cushenberry, McGovern can play guard. Yeah. So I think they're good on the O-line.
53:24I can see this team just like firing up on, you know what I'm going to do.
53:28This is exactly what I'm going to do. I said this so much during draft season last year because they're bringing in
53:35Jim Leonard to be their new DC coming from Denver.
53:37I was like, I wonder if they get a Nick Benito type, someone who's a DPR.
53:42Because they kind of have the infrastructure for early downs covered.
53:45Brad the Chubb, still a good run defender. There are question marks about what he is as a pass rusher, but he's
53:51still good against the run at this point. And then TJ Parker, who they just drafted, solid against the run.
53:57Greg Russo, long, athletic, good against the run. Even Michael Hoyt.
54:00So yeah, they did just draft an edge rusher with their first pick last year.
54:04It was inside the top 40. But like Damon Wilson is such a different player.
54:08And I wonder if Jim Leonard would look at him as like, yeah, that's my Nick Benito.
54:13Everyone else will stop the run. Damon Wilson will end drives.
54:16Sure. So like early, my early lean is there.
54:18I do think they could go with another safety.
54:21Kilgore to me is more of a nickel. Jordan Hancock's been solid in camp is what I've been hearing.
54:26CJ Gardner Johnson, I think he's definitely replaceable. So part of my brain is like to Tay Johnson and a single high heavy defense for Jim Leonard.
54:34Let the playmaking begin. Like that would be awesome.
54:36Then the other part of my brain is like, man, Damon Wilson, just like teeing off would be a whole lot of fun.
54:43Um, so, so I want both of them. Um, this is a trade back situation for me right now.
54:48I will go with Tay Johnson because I think him and Cole Bishop would be sick.
54:52You could have Jordan Hancock be your third safety.
54:55Kilgore is like your nickel project in the making.
54:57Also Jordan Hancock could play nickel and I think he'd be pretty good at that.
55:02Um, let's go with, with Tay Johnson. Also, I think he's just a slightly better, at least from an NFL standpoint, I
55:08know more about Tay Johnson and what he'll be at the next level than I am right now with Damon Wilson.
55:14Wilson's still a little bit of a projection and we've seen one game right now.
55:18So still waiting and seeing. And frankly, I'll say that one game against Stanford, I didn't think he was, I don't think
55:24he was bad, but he wasn't like the guy for Miami either.
55:27So still waiting and seeing there on, uh, Damon Wilson.
55:30Yep. So Brown's on the clock last pick. We, we went quarterback for them, right?
55:34I went quarterback at four. I want, I think I want men.
55:38Yeah. You had Terry and men. So yeah. Yeah.
55:40Okay. Just wanted to make sure. Uh, so they have quarterback.
55:43They got, you know, Quintron Junkins, Dylan Samson, they're running back.
55:46They have receivers in place. They have Harold fan.
55:49Their office line is looking pretty good, honestly. Yeah.
55:51So I'm thinking it's going to be defense all the way here, even though I always love pairing like a quarterback with a player.
55:58But I think just the way that they have everything laid out, it's going to be a defensive guy.
56:03So it could be a corner for sure. Denzel Ward's going up there and they also just need more corners in general.
56:09Um, could be a linebacker. I mean, Schrezzinger is great, but they don't really have much beyond that.
56:14Yeah. Could be defensive end as well. Um, who, who they had, this could be like a Damon Wilson spot.
56:20Potentially get some more, more juice. Could be a Jordan Ross spot.
56:23Potentially. I like Ross and Wilson. I always say this.
56:26So like, you can take this with a grain of salt, but I love pairing up guy like versus like the perfect power rusher.
56:33Yeah. So on the opposite side, a guy with just like insane first step, Wilson and Ross would be like top of the list for this class.
56:40I kind of love that on paper. So I do too.
56:43Maybe just give me a humor. Maybe go to corner real quick.
56:47I just want to see if we've missed anyone.
56:49Zoom around. Yeah. I don't know if any of these.
56:52DJ McKinney. I did like him. I liked his Colorado tape.
56:55I liked him. Yeah. Um, but I know, I think I'm going to go, let's go Jordan Ross.
57:00Let's go to Jordan Ross. I think. Yeah. He had, this is a week one overreaction mock.
57:05He had a great week one, but I don't really think that's an overreaction because I think he had the potential was always there for him.
57:12So a hundred percent. Get him in the first round.
57:15I like that. Yeah. I, I, I agree with you in lockstep there with Ross and Ross.
57:20He was tough. He was part of the reason he wasn't my edge rankings.
57:24Cause like, I don't know what it's going to be.
57:26And like Tennessee used him as a rotational guy.
57:29I think we saw after week one, like he's going to be a big part of that LSU defense.
57:34And if we want any inclination of what we're going to get, he's in for a hell of a season.
57:40So, uh, yeah, no, I like that pick a lot.
57:43Go ahead and scroll through all 32 picks. One more time.
57:46Uh, is there a favorite pick in here? Favorite, uh, parent that comes to mind for you.
57:50I really liked the chiefs, Melvin Ciani. I think that's a guy that not enough people are talking about.
57:56I know a lot of like draft guys are talking about, but just the general, like, you know, NFL fandom, even college
58:02football fandom might be not be talking about him.
58:04I think, I think he has a chance to go a lot higher than 28.
58:08Uh, I'll say that. So I like that pick a lot.
58:12And the, I do say Alexander's my guy, him.
58:14I think the last couple of times we gave the 49ers Ryan Coleman Williams, cause give, uh, Kyle Shanahan, a explosive playmaker.
58:20We just gave him a different explosive playmaker who might not drop everything that's thrown his way.
58:25So I like that too. I like it. Oh, I feel obligated to say Jeremiah Smith, the Raiders.
58:30Like that would be like such a, like, yeah, that is like Jack.
58:34I take back everything I said. That's no, no, no, no, no.
58:37You're totally fine. Nick Marshall, the Jets really liked that pairing.
58:40I'm also, I like the bangles. Chris. I feel I'm shouting up all my picks.
58:44Chris Cole to the bangles. Like I kind of love that thumper right there in that mix.
58:49Ahmad boat into the Broncos. I would really dig that pairing.
58:52Uh, and then the Ravens. And we have to shout out Ashton Hampton, the lions that.
58:56Yeah, actually. That is the best thing. Cause it's the pick we've made three times in a row.
59:01As much as this podcast has brought you apart by underdogs, it's actually brought you apart by Ashton Hampton to the lions.
59:08We're like a secret CPAC. We'll see you, man.
59:10Another fun mock draft and, uh, any plans for week one of the NFL season?
59:14Got any, uh, like traditions or anything you do, or are you just hanging out with your friends?
59:19No traditions visiting family this weekend. No traditions, unfortunately.
59:22Uh, but I'm just excited. NFL is back. We'll get first weekend of college football and NFL.
59:27Uh, so it's going to be a lot, but I'm excited just to get into it.
59:31You've got any plans. I'll be in Pittsburgh for a wedding.
59:34Oh, okay. Well, that's fun. Pittsburgh week one, as we host the Atlanta Falcons.
59:38So that will be interesting on the return. Yeah.
59:41Yeah. But yeah, y'all got the, uh, the Panthers.
59:43So I think both our teams probably start wanting to know 10 this week.
59:47Yeah. I don't want to rule out those scrappy Panthers.
59:50I feel very good, but I've been burned so many times before with the Bears.
59:54I'm like very cautiously optimistic. Yeah. You're one of those fan bases that you don't take anything for granted.
59:59Cause you've seen, you've seen the other side of the coin.
60:02Absolutely. Versus like Steelers fans. We're a little spoiler.
60:05Like nine and eight's not good enough. Right. You know, but that's the duality.

60:55Nationwide is so much more than a great insurance company.
60:58They're one of America's largest financial services companies. Just like I'm so much more than quarterback Peyton Manning.
61:03I'm also Peyton Manning. Insurance and financial services together.
61:06It's a masterpiece. Peyton Manning does it again. For your insurance and financial needs, Nationwide is on your side.
61:11Nationwide Investment Services Corporation. Member FINRA, Columbus, Ohio. Football is back, baby.
61:14And whether you've been betting for years or you're just looking to put a little action on the games, my bookie needs
61:20to be added to your list of places to go line shopping.
61:24We've been talking about the teams we like and don't like for months.
61:27We're in on this Jets offense more than almost anybody.
61:30And we're terrified of this Falcons offense. Even though you got Bijon, you got Kyle Pitts, you got Drake London.
61:36But you got two bad left-handed quarterbacks. And you certainly don't need to be telling some fake betting expert on social media.
61:42Go to my bookie and find the plays you already know you like and take a shot.
61:47That's what's cool about my bookie. You can find the action you want and bet it wherever you are when the game kicks off.
61:53And if you're new to the club, the bet back bonus gives you protection on your first play.
61:58Sign up with promo code PLAYER to opt into the bet back bonus and take your first shot with a safety net.
62:04If your wager loses, you get it right back.
62:07No questions asked. Football is finally here. Get in now and cash in on the season with my bookie with promo code
