0:00I could listen to that all day. Defense and Kickers, it is Week 5, we're super excited, or sorry, Week 6, we just had Week 5 happen.
0:10Defenses and Kickers, let's just get right to it.
0:14Smoke them if you got them. The calls of the week from last week from Week 5.
0:20The Texans were, smoke them if you got them team against the Tennessee Titans.
0:2617 points. Ranked 3rd right now as it sits.
0:29The Bengals defense, one of our good calls, they ranked 8th overall on the week as it sits right now.
0:3711.75 fantasy points. Browns D, 11.5 points. Ranked 9th.
0:40You'll love to see it. So just consistency across the board for some of these defenses that might be lesser rostered.
0:48Jaguars defense disappointed us in what opened as a 43.5 over-under total.
0:537 fantasy points, so they didn't lose it for you, they just didn't win it for you.
0:59Then the Commanders, this is depending on settings, I've noticed.
1:03There's some places where they got double-digit points, and others where they hit for 6.
1:09So, meet in the middle. Some leagues, they got you good.
1:13Other leagues, they were bit by Jameis Winston, of all people.
1:17And that was just a thriller of a game.
1:20Who could believe what happened there at the end as well with JD5.
1:25Maybe he thought the clock was supposed to stop with 5 seconds left.
1:30We do not know. Kickers, we were in fuego last week.
1:34Spencer Schrader, 21 fantasy points. Funny enough, I'm looking at the standings for the scores for the week.
1:41Second to Jason Myers, who was 80% rostered. So you love to see that.
1:47We're trying to get lower-rostered players and some gems out there, right?
1:51So, funny enough, Spencer Schrader gets you 21 points, and then Jason Myers, you're like thinking, Hey man, I got a kicker who got 21 points.
2:01That should be the number one on the week, but he wasn't.
2:06Jake Bates got us 10. He was ranked 8th.
2:09Dominic Zavato, 10 as well. He's 7th. So they're even.
2:13They're tied, right? So we got top 12 ranked kickers.
2:17Jake Bates, Dominic Zavada, very satisfying. You know, whenever we hit on those, they're lower-rostered.
2:22They're more of gem players. That is so, so satisfying.
2:26You could kind of see the momentum building with Spencer Schrader, and he was a good call.
2:33He came through for us. But Bates and Zavato are just chef's kiss satisfying.
2:38Notes, bye weeks. Week 6 right here coming up.
2:41Bengals, Lions, Dolphins, and Vikings. The Vikings have been week over week belted ass to opposing offenses in the NFL.
2:49And then the Bengals have really been a gem for us as well.
2:54Lions and Dolphins, not so much. The Dolphins have been more of a target for us, so the Dolphins get a week off from us targeting them.
3:04A look ahead to bye week for seven. The Bills, Jaguars, Chargers, and Commanders.
3:10Let's get to this week. Smoke them if you got them.
3:14Steelers at the Buccaneers. You know what's up. It's Baker Mayfield being out.
3:19Jalen Daniels. I know they shredded up the Cowboys, carved them up good on Thursday night football.
3:25Sometimes you have that prime game, that island game.
3:29Don't let that throw you off. You run the Steelers back out there against the Buccaneers, and you're excited about that.
3:37The Rams defense versus the Cardinals. The Lions looked very good last week or this week, so that should just kind of tell you everything.
3:46And the Rams are a more formidable defense than the Lions as it sits right now.
3:52Marvin Harrison Jr. traded. Who knows what's going to happen?
3:56How long will Jacoby Bridgeset be the bridge quarterback for the Cardinals before they go to Carson Beck?
4:03Now let's get into some of the plays for this week.
4:07The Patriots defense versus the Jets. Over-under currently sits at 44.5.
4:11Patriots favored by 7.5 points. The Patriots defense, funny enough, a few weeks ago, they wouldn't have really been a play that we could call.
4:21But 50% on ESPN, 43% on Sleeper. They're right at that threshold.
4:25The last three weeks, they have gotten you nine points for fantasy.
4:30So they get to attack the Geno Smith-led Jets.
4:33The Patriots are back in gear, controlling Temple on teams.
4:37Also, if you can hold, you play this week, week six, the Patriots.
4:42Hold through week seven at the Bears because we anticipate Caleb Williams coming back.
4:48They get the Dolphins, the New England Patriots, in week eight.
4:52So Patriots defense this week versus the Jets. They're a play for us.
4:57Next up, Saints defense at the Giants. Currently 44.5 over-under.
5:00The Saints are favored by 1.5 on the road.
5:043% rostered are the Saints on ESPN. 21% on Sleeper.
5:08Depending on your scoring settings, the Saints got between 12 and 16 points for fantasy purposes this week versus the Vikings.
5:16And then you have to account for playing the Giants on the road.
5:21There's the Jameis Winston volatility, which helps us scrape and mine value.
5:25Next up, the Kansas City Chiefs defense versus the Chargers coming off that bye week.
5:31Over-under 43.5, the Chiefs are favored by 7.5 next week against the Chargers.
5:3633% on ESPN, 54% on Sleeper. So some people, hey, you got to make room for your rosters and your teams.
5:44Chiefs defense got dropped. You have an opportunity out there.
5:48They have had the Chiefs a 10 and a 15-point fantasy game under their belt.
5:53Three games of 8 or more points. And we know Andy Reid and the Chiefs off of a bye week have an incredible track record.
6:03Now, it's been a dumpster fire for Justin Herbert and the Chargers.
6:07We see Trey Harris picks up a hamstring injury.
6:11Lab McConkie was active but basically didn't play. It's awful.
6:15And Kamani Vidal is getting long touchdown runs. That should go to a Marion Hampton.
6:20This is not what we dreamed about all summer long.
6:24Defensive totals, points, fantasy against the Chargers this season.
6:28Week 1, Cardinals, 12.5 points. Week 2, Raiders, 13.25.
6:31The Bills, Week 3, a lower score of 8, still respectable.
6:35Week 4, Seahawks, 14.75. Week 5 against the Denver Broncos, 15.75 fantasy points.
6:40So, hey, you're plugging in playing and attacking against the Chargers offense.
6:45And you also have in this situation the Chiefs who are a capable defense.
6:50So, a lot of factors that play in favor of the Chiefs defense as a play this week.
6:57Now, not so much how we're trying to bake the cake here.
7:02But this is partly process. Colts defense versus the Titans.
7:053% on ESPN are the Colts. And 17% on Sleeper.
7:09And you have the Jets who had 10 points against the Titans.
7:14The Giants who had 10.5. And then you have the Texans this week.
7:19They were a smoke them if you got them defense.
7:23They went and had 17 points. And the over-under for this Colts-Titans next week, it's low.
7:29Opening up right now, 43.5. Colts favored by 6.5 points.
7:32So, they're not going to be a prime premier play.
7:36They'll probably be available after the waiver wire run.
7:40So, again, if you're in that position where the top 10, top 12 defenses are all taken in your league and you're
7:48desperate, turn that rock over and attack the Titans with the Colts.
7:53And next up, Browns defense versus the Ravens. The over-under is currently 41.5 opening line.
7:58Browns. 4.5 point underdogs. But what we need to do is monitor if Lamar Jackson is out.
8:05That game could get ugly. So, the Browns have four or five games of double-digit fantasy points.
8:11With their low week one of eight fantasy points.
8:15So, the Browns also get the Titans in week seven.
8:19So, this is possibly a good two-week-in-a-row play. We had recommended the Browns the prior week.
8:25So, you should have them on your roster. Essentially, monitor what's going on with Lamar Jackson.
8:31Because I think you keep them in Sands-Lamar Jackson.
8:34With Lamar Jackson, you want to make other plans.
8:38So, that's why there's a little bit of a contingency thing.
8:42You've got to monitor the situation. And look ahead, okay, to the following week.
8:47I mentioned the Browns at the Titans. The Jets defense versus the Dolphins.
8:52You can wait to pick the Jets up. We're talking about week seven here.
8:57Bengals defense at the Ravens. Again, that's another one.
9:01Depending on the severity of the Lamar Jackson injury, we will certainly be monitoring what's going on there.
9:08Now, let's hear from the Podfather about SportFund. At PlayerProfile, we love Dynasty.
9:13We love Seasonal Leagues. We love DFS. We love it all.
9:17And finally, a game exists that combines everything into one.
9:21In Dynasty, you want shares of players for their careers.
9:24Sport.fun has that. We want to beat our friends this Sunday and for the full season.
9:30Well, Sport.fun has that as well. Because Sport.fun is a fantasy sports trading game where your knowledge of NFL player performances this
9:39week, this season, and for their career matters. So I like to acquire the depressed assets that I know will increase in
9:47value, specifically players that are working through injuries. You get those players when they're on the upswing.
9:54Ride them. Cash them out. Do it again. Ride them up.
9:58Cash them out. Do it again. It's a place you build a long-term portfolio, but you win weekly.
10:05Just like a Dynasty team. If you sign up for a Sport.fun account now with a link in the description, you build
10:13a portfolio, you hold it for three weeks, and they'll give you a 50% rewards bonus.
10:19We have a channel for it in the Discord.
10:23It's going to be a good time. Pretty, pretty good, as Larry David would say, about Sport.fun.
10:29Get active. Get involved. Just a new iteration way to play some fantasy football.
10:34Now we got our defenses. Let's go to our kickers.
10:38We are going to go back to the well on Dominic Zavada.
10:43Over, under, 44.5. The Giants are 1.5 point underdogs versus Saints.
10:474% roster ship on ESPN. 15% on Sleeper. The last four weeks, 8, 12, 14, and 10 fantasy points for Zavada.
10:55He's attempted four 50-yard field goals the last two weeks.
10:59Or, sorry, six. And he made two 50-yard field goals back-to-back weeks.
11:03So in the 50-yard range, he's got two weeks in a row making two.
11:09And he actually missed two this week. So the Giants trust him.
11:13There was actually more out there for him. I think he's just going to be a path-to-10 type of fantasy kicker for
11:22you if you're just up a creek and can't find anybody.
11:26You know, if you're really stuck on the kicker streets, especially with these buys coming through, he may become more apparent for you.
11:35Spencer Schrader. Got to mention him again. And this is not just a repeat of last week.
11:41Okay, I promise. Spencer Schrader. The over-under Colts, 43.
11:45Colts are favored by 6.5 versus the Titans. 53% on ESPN.
11:49That is too low. Again, the last four games for Spencer Schrader.
11:5314, 17, 16, 21. That needs to be higher.
11:57Sleeper. Catching on, catching up. 78%. So in your more casual leagues at ESPN where it might be 53% versus people who
12:05are a little bit more degenerate right on Sleeper, if that's a perception.
12:10Got more opportunity on ESPN. So turn that rock over in your ESPN streets.
12:15Still 22%. You might have a shot somewhere in your league, but probably not in my league, bro.
12:22You won't be able to get Spencer Schrader on Sleeper.
12:26So turn that rock over on ESPN for him.
12:29And then we love same game plays. And we've been profitable off them in the past.
12:36And funny enough, we have two low-rostered players, kickers, for a high over-under game.
12:41Matt Gay of the Raiders versus the Bills. Over-under, currently 52.5.
12:45The Bills are favored by 5.5. First four weeks for Matt Gay.
12:5010, 8, 12, 16. Week 5 against the Patriots had five points.
12:54It happens, right? Expect to bounce back next week.
12:58And it's just prime optimal conditions versus the Bills at home in Vegas.
13:03So 7% on ESPN, 56% on Sleeper. So really not even high enough on Sleeper either.
13:09He's going to be attainable, especially with the buys.
13:12And then on the other side, I would prefer Matt Gay because the Bills' tendency to go for it on fourth down
13:20a little bit more, be more aggressive, and it can take some opportunities off the table.
13:27And the Bills run pure on touchdowns. And that can hurt our kickers.
13:32Every now and then we run into these dry spells with kickers.
13:36Like Eddie Pinheiro, the 49ers have just run so good on touchdowns.
13:41And he just gets snakebitten by it. And it's like, hey, you're not a bad kicker.
13:47It's just that the opportunity didn't afford itself. And that's what we're trying to unlock here.
13:53Tyler Bass, 8% on ESPN, 25% on Sleeper. Complete desperation play.
13:57I would prefer Matt Gay. But I expect good kicker fantasy points out of this high over-under total 52.5 Bills and Raiders game.
14:06So go out. Win your week. Get the streams.
14:09Pick up every player that you can. Turn over every rock.
14:13Stay active. Heading into week six, you might get some people who are starting to give up.
14:20And that's your opportunity to absolutely shine. So Coach Resslaff, I will see you next week.
