Brian Thomas Jr.

PositiveValue2:18

Garrett argues Brian Thomas Jr. is a major steal, citing his 1,200-yard, double-digit touchdown rookie season as proof of talent; he dismisses the 2025 regression as a temporary slump and notes that much of his early production came with Mac Jones. With a full year in Liam Cohen's system and his elite physical profile (6'3, sub-4.4 speed), he is expected to bounce back, especially as his ADP potentially dips below Parker Washington's.

Insight page

Chris Godwin

PositiveValue19:04

Chris Godwin is a steal at his current ADP of WR40; he has finished as a top-40 receiver every year since his rookie season until last year. While there are concerns about his health and target competition from rookies like Jalen McMillan and Emeka Abuka, Godwin provides essential stability as a slot receiver (Y) compared to the team's X-receiver profiles, making him a reliable, unsexy pick similar to DeAndre Swift.

Insight page
PositiveValue28:52

Mitch Anderson advocates for Chris Godwin as a major value, noting he was the WR2 overall in standard scoring through six weeks in 2024 before his injury. With Mike Evans departing, Godwin's role as the primary slot receiver is secure. The Buccaneers' decision to extend his contract after his injury indicates they believe he is fully recovered. Currently drafted as the WR40, he is considered a steal given his history of top-40 finishes.

Insight page

D'Andre Swift

PositiveValue9:10

Justin Mello identifies DeAndre Swift as a reliable, undervalued asset who has hit on his ADP in six of seven career seasons. Despite being drafted as the RB24, Swift is coming off a career-best fantasy year where he earned PFF's fifth-highest rushing grade. Mello notes that Swift consistently out-snapped and out-produced Kyle Monangai down the stretch, and the presence of offensive coordinator Ben Johnson ensures a high-floor role in a strong offense.

Insight page

Harold Fannin

PositiveBreakout23:13

Garrett projects Harold Fannin Jr. as a potential top-five tight end, citing the Browns' likely negative game scripts and questionable quarterback play, which will force frequent short-area targets. Fannin, who usurped David Njoku as the team's primary weapon, is expected to see high volume in Todd Monken's offense. Despite concerns about the quarterback situation, his talent after the catch is viewed as elite, with the potential for 100+ receptions.

Insight page

Isaiah Likely

PositiveBreakout22:05

Isaiah Likely is a major breakout candidate and a steal at TE11. Reports indicate the Giants view him as a 'utility weapon' rather than a traditional tight end, and he is expected to be the clear number two option behind Malik Nabers. In nine career games without Mark Andrews, he averaged 3.5 receptions, 50.5 yards, and 0.7 touchdowns, which would have made him the TE3 last year if extrapolated over a full season.

Insight page

J.K. Dobbins

PositiveValue16:43

Mitch Anderson highlights JK Dobbins as a high-upside steal, comparing his potential to Javante Williams. Despite injury concerns, Dobbins received a two-year, $16 million extension, signaling team confidence. Statistically, he ranked 7th in yards per carry (among those with 100+ carries), 4th in explosive run rate, and 8th in success rate last year. With Davis Webb taking over play-calling duties, Dobbins is viewed as a value pick if he remains healthy.

Insight page

Jalen McMillan

NegativeDepth Chart19:47

Jalen McMillan is part of a crowded Tampa Bay receiving room; he profiles as an X-receiver and unfortunately dealt with injuries during his rookie season.

Insight page

Malik Nabers

PositiveUsage22:15

Malik Nabers is viewed as the primary option in the Giants' offense with the potential to be a 1,400-1,500 yard player, though the team's recent signings of veterans like Odell Beckham and Juju Smith-Schuster raise questions about the team's long-term outlook for his target volume.

Insight page

Theo Johnson

NegativeUsage22:37

Theo Johnson, a fourth-round second-year tight end, received 64 targets from Jackson Dart between weeks 4 and 17 of last season, highlighting the previous usage patterns in the Giants' offense.

0:49I'm Mitch Anderson. I'm Justin Mello. And Mello, we are joined by a very, very, very special guest today.
0:54We've got Garrett from Football Analysis here to help us break down six fantasy football steals here for 2026.
0:59What's going on, Garrett? Appreciate you guys having me on.
1:02Looking forward to it. The rare fantasy football discussion.
1:05So I'm really looking forward to this one and breaking guys down and hearing your guys' thoughts.
1:10Dude, I'm so excited to have you on because you are one of our first guests, if not our first, that doesn't
1:16come from exactly this fantasy football space. And so I love getting the analysis and the breakdown from someone with a different
1:22perspective that's viewing football more as a whole entity rather than just this little game we all love.
1:27But you are the guest. And as always, we're going to let you go first with one of your favorite fantasy football steals for this year.
1:34Yeah. So one of my favorite steals, this one player is named Bijan.
1:38No, I'm kidding. I like Brian Thomas Jr. from the Jags.
1:41BTJ is a player I loved coming out of LSU in 2024.
1:45I thought he was a really overthought prospect even back then.
1:48A lot of people said that he's only a guy that runs slot fades and he's not going to be able to translate to the NFL.
1:55And in his rookie year, he had over 1,200 yards and double digit touchdowns.
1:59And obviously he didn't have the year that anyone intended last year.
2:02But one of the points that I was personally bringing up entering 2025 was I do expect there to be a bit
2:09of a regression with Brian Thomas Jr. And what I will say is I didn't think it was going to be that much of a regression in 2025.
2:16But what should have been noted and what I feel like was not noted as much as it should have been entering
2:23last year was a lot of his production in 2024 came towards the end of the year with Mac Jones as a starting quarterback.
2:29And he had the big like 80 plus yard touchdown against the Colts with Trevor, but a lot of it was with Mac.
2:36And now that we are a full year into Liam Cohen system, and now that BTJ is coming off of the sophomore
2:42slump, I personally refuse to believe that a player at 21 going in 22 years old, that's, you know, 6'3 runs a sub 4'4 40".
2:49I refuse to believe that a guy goes for 1,200 yards and double digit touchdowns as a rookie and doesn't go for
2:55over a thousand yards again at any point in his career.
2:58Now we're only in year three and he hopefully has, you know, several more years in his career, but I just refuse
3:05to believe that that was a one year wonder given all of the physical tools he has.
3:09I love that you came in, you saw my Parker Washington jersey and you just chose violence immediately.
3:15Um, even as a Parker guy, like we've talked about this on the show.
3:19I completely agree with you. You look at the rookie year.
3:22He was the wide receiver for overall in fantasy.
3:24And we've mentioned it, whether it's this year or a year in the future, like that talent doesn't just disappear.
3:30Um, and I think there were circumstances last year and whatever was going on with him that obviously you were disappointed if
3:36you drafted him, but we love getting pieces of this Jacksonville offense.
3:39We love this Liam Cohen led team. And so I can see the upside argument for Brian Thomas jr.
3:45And if he hits wide receiver 33 price tag, like if he is the guy in Jacksonville, whoever it is, it's going to pay off in spades.
3:52I'm totally with you. And Mitch, I don't have the Parker Jersey behind me because I'm not your level of sicko about Parker Washington.
3:59Uh, but he is a guy I like a lot too.
4:02But the nice thing is right now the camp hype is going so crazy with Parker Washington that it's almost, it's certainly elevating Parker Washington and drafts.
4:10And it's starting to make Brian Thomas a little bit more affordable because people are buying into all this hype with Parker,
4:16you know, Jacoby Myers there, obviously there's still the Travis Hunter believers that I'm not going to say.
4:21Brian Thomas is the forgotten man by any means, but we're almost watering down his reputation or, or, uh, the perception of him in the fantasy community.
4:29And Garrett, you're right. Like this is a guy who was a first round pick.
4:33This was a guy who had an incredible season his last year in college, took that into his rookie year.
4:39It would be pretty stunning to see him never have any sort of significant production or fantasy relevance again.
4:44So if his ADP does continue to slip, we've been so vocal on this show about how much we want pieces of this Jacksonville offense.
4:51And he could be the biggest beneficiary of this offense, taking a major step forward, uh, for the whole season here in 2026.
4:57Yeah. We're seeing him and Parker Washington's ADPs right now on a collision course.
5:01Like it's looking like it's actually probably going to flip in the next week or two.
5:06And pretty soon BTJ is going to be drafted as their wide receiver too.
5:10Yeah. Yeah. I mean, he's, he's just, he's so good, man.
5:13I just, I just refuse to believe that it's just this one year wonder.
5:17And, and I say this, you know, complimentary to BTJ, not to bring down Jacoby or Parker or Brent Strange, who had
5:23a good year last year, but nobody in that offense.
5:26And very few players have done what he did at 21 going at 22 years old.
5:30So I refuse to believe that it's just, Oh, thanks for one year.
5:34Thanks for that. Thanks for those highlight plays and, and see where we're going to transition the offense elsewhere.
5:40For sure. I think he is certainly the most naturally talented receiver on this offense.
5:44Uh, I got somebody a little bit less flashy for you, probably a lot less flashy actually, but it's somebody I've definitely
5:50been drafting because I think he's a steal. And that is DeAndre Swift of the Chicago bears.
5:55He doesn't have top five running back upside, but he's one of those guys that just stays a value year after year after year.
6:02And it's statistically certifiable because he has hit on his ADP six of his seven years in the league.
6:07He's also finished as a running back to quite literally every single year of his career with his worst fantasy finish being the running back 21.
6:14So you just know what you're getting with DeAndre Swift and that's reliability yet.
6:18He's going off the board as the running back 24, which based on his track record, he's basically guaranteed to be a
6:24profit at ADP where he is going. And in fact, last year was his best career year in terms of fantasy points, as well as fantasy finish.
6:32And he looked the part as well as he accumulated his stats, boasting pro football focuses fifth highest rushing grade.
6:38So it wasn't even like it was just off volume or being part of this great Chicago offense, which it is a great offense.
6:44He himself looked very good last year. He deserves a ton of the credit for his productivity.
6:49And for those worried about how menung guy and the role that he could have even down the stretch, when you really take a look under the hood.
6:57And when you would have expected Kyle menung guy to be a lot more involved at the end of the season, based
7:03on some of the narratives in his production, he still was pretty thoroughly outstaffed by Swift.
7:08He was outstaffed every single game throughout their last five games of the season.
7:12He was also outplayed. He was outproduced. So with all of this in combination, I just think Swift's going to continue to
7:18stay a steal and fantasy every single year. The offensive line is still good.
7:22Ben Johnson is still the play caller. He's one of the most obvious steals on the board if you're looking for just a safe running back too.
7:29And I think people are just kind of bored of him.
7:33Like they, they treat him like he's just a flavorless glass of water.
7:36But you know what? Water quite literally keeps you alive.
7:39And DeAndre Swift is the type of running back that can do the same for your fantasy team.
7:44So like who cares if not all the flavors there?
7:47Yeah. I mean, I'm not grabbing a water when I want to go party, but if I'm just trying to have a
7:53good day and feel good about everything going on, I'm going to have a water.
7:57Cause like you said, it sustains you. That's exactly what DeAndre Swift does for your team.
8:02It sustains you. He beats his ADP every year.
8:04It's just not going to have the crazy upside that a lot of these other guys are going to have, but he's
8:11a very solid pick at cost every year and one that you're going to rely on.
8:15I like it. And the game against the Eagles last year on Black Friday, him and Menunga, I think there was a graphic that kept popping up.
8:23I think him and Menunga were the first two teammates to have, it was like 125 yards touchdown in over a decade.
8:29It was like the first time since 2014 when they, when they did that last year on Black Friday.
8:34And there's times where I like to use this analogy kind of in life, not just in football, even though we're talking
8:41about football where look, it's going to get the job done.
8:44Just run the ball. Don't overthink it. Just, just get the job done.
8:47Move the sticks. DeAndre Swift ironically is going to do a lot of that this year.
8:52So I like the pick and I'm glad that's so funny that that wasn't Jameer Gibbs and David Montgomery under Ben Johnson.
8:58Just a year or two before. I was just about to say that.
9:02Like, I'm glad you brought that up because it's like, even if you're a Menunga guy, it's like you can have both
9:08because quite literally this same exact clay caller we saw have Jameer Gibbs and David Montgomery both produce at a very high level in the same offense.
9:16Yeah. So there's still enough room for both of them to succeed.
9:19So you guys are just saying like DeAndre Swift's better than Jameer Gibbs.
9:23Is that the takeaway? Exactly. Oh, a hundred percent.
9:25That's actually going to be the title of the video.
9:28So you want to get clips, just go ahead and tweet that one out.
9:32Just sound clip that one right there. And then, you know, give me 60 seconds.
9:36I'll explain why DeAndre Swift is better than Jameer Gibbs.
9:39DeAndre Swift confirmed better than Jameer Gibbs. The worst decision the Lions ever made was move on from DeAndre Swift so they could go draft Jameer Gibbs.
9:47That was down. DeAndre Swift is literally the best running back to ever wear a Lions uniform.
9:51Yeah. Yeah. I don't think they have anybody else in their lineage.
9:55Yes. Yeah. All right. Well, you know what, Melo, you went with an unsexy running back.
9:59So I'm going to go with the sexiest running back out there.
10:03Let's talk about JK Dobbins, who to me kind of profiles here as this year's Javante Williams.
10:07I know that's just the thing everybody's saying right now, but I have to admit, I wasn't that high on him going into the year.
10:14And, you know, back in March, Melo, when we were first kind of talking about what 2026 has in store, I've done a complete 180.
10:21I think this is a guy who the injuries are terrifying as a fantasy manager, but when he's been on the field,
10:28there's no reason to believe he doesn't still have the juice.
10:31They just extended him two years, $16 million over the offseason.
10:34We always say follow the money and this coaching staff clearly still intends on leaning on him.
10:39Just got paid about the same or more in average annual value than David Montgomery, Javante Williams, Rico Dowdle, Tyler Algier, all
10:45of which besides Algier are being drafted ahead of Dobbins.
10:48But then if you actually look at the on-field production, last year he ranked 7th in yards per carry among running backs with 100 or more carries.
10:55Not only that, he was 4th in explosive run rate and 8th in success rate, which with JK Dobbins, explosive is not
11:02always the first word that comes to mind with me.
11:04So I was very shocked to see this, but I've gained so much steam on him.
11:09And to me, he's a guy that I think all of your league mates will be scared off because of the injury risk.
11:15But if he does stay healthy, he is an absolute steal at his price right now.
11:20So he's going to be this year's Javante Williams until he tears his ACL.
11:24No, but all jokes aside, like if he does stay healthy, I mean, he was, I think we might have mentioned this
11:30on another show, like he kind of was last year's Javante Williams before he got hurt.
11:35And like, if he can just stay healthy, you can do it again.
11:38You look at RJ Harvey and some of the inefficiencies he had last year.
11:42You look at, they did draft Jonah Coleman. You're not sure how involved he'll be year one.
11:47And Garrett, I'm curious, I need somebody who's in the trenches.
11:50Yeah, absolutely. With the actual football analysis. Fantasy brain to the side because I'm totally infected with fantasy brain.
11:55I need somebody else. How do you think this Broncos backfield shakes out with like the rookie and Jonah Coleman, RJ Harvey going in tier two?
12:03How do you project it? I mean, I was not a big Jonah Coleman guy.
12:07I don't think he's going to be a threat to J.K.
12:10Dobbins. And we're at a point with J.K. Dobbins where if he doesn't produce now, then we're talking about him having a
12:16Dalvin Cook, Zeke Elliott final year where it's like, all right, buddy, you don't produce.
12:20Then we could find another running back next year that's six years younger.
12:24And we don't have to worry about them, unfortunately, or their body, unfortunately, breaking down the way J.K.
12:29Dobbins has not had good injury luck throughout his career.
12:32So if there's going to be, I would say, a by like low medium and then potentially, like you guys said, be
12:38this year's Javante Williams, especially behind that offensive line.
12:41And it is worth noting that Sean Payton is no longer the team's play caller.
12:45There were some questions last year. You know, hey, can we get, you know, fresh mind in here?
12:50Davis Webb is going to be the play caller.
12:53So I'm looking forward to this. I like the idea of J.K.
12:56Dobbins entering 2026. That's my question. Am I in love with J.K.
12:59Dobbins or am I in love with the idea of J.K.
13:03Dobbins? That'll be a whole other episode. What's going on, guys?
13:06We are officially partnered with Underdog here in August for fantasy football draft season.
13:10If you've never used Underdog before and you want to do some fantasy drafts with me and Melo, you can actually sign
13:16up right now with a brand new promo using the code LINEUP, L-I-N-E-U-P.
13:19Basically just deposit and play with $5 and Underdog is going to give you $50 in bonus entries that you can use
13:26on picks, drafts, or anything in the Underdog app.
13:28So you can either go into the description, hit the card above, or just download the Underdog app and use the code LINEUP.
13:35Deposit and play $5 and you will get $50 in bonus entries from Underdog.
13:39But guys, let's get back to the video. This is, I'm going to ask, I'm going to, is this, is this like
13:45too, is this not enough of a sleeper? If it is, if it's not, I can pick somebody else.
13:50Harold Fannin. Is that a sleeper? No, don't love it.
13:53I love that. Okay. So Harold Fannin Jr. is a player that I think could be a legit top five tight end this year in fantasy.
14:00And here's why. The Browns are, you know, not good.
14:03Like they're, they're, they're not a good team. The quarterback play is very questionable, but for Harold Fannins who still, and by the way, the defense is awesome.
14:11I just worry a lot about the quarterback play, but the offense is going to be in situations where we're going to have to throw the ball.
14:19And I think there's going to be a lot of times where Shador or Deshaun, I don't think they're the best processor.
14:25And Deshaun Watson's just downfall from who he was back in 2020 to now.
14:29I mean, we're not even remotely in the same ballpark of caliber of player.
14:33It's one of, if not the worst quarterback situations in the entire NFL.
14:36Maybe Arizona's up there with the Jacoby Brissett, Carson Beck, Gardner Minshew battle.
14:40But how this translates to Harold Fannin is, I think there's going to be a lot of times where the Browns are
14:46going to be trying to run a Todd Munkin offense.
14:49And a lot of the time, you know, with the, with any concepts that are going to take time to develop instead
14:55of trusting what their eyes are seeing and what they're going to see in the film room on Monday, it's going to
15:01be easier to, Hey, it's second and six. Let's just dump the ball down to Harold Fannin.
15:06And I think there's going to be a lot of, you know, seven or eight yard receptions from Fannin this year.
15:12And I wouldn't be surprised at all. If you look up at the end of games, maybe Cleveland loses 24, 13, but
15:18Harold Fannin has a nine catch 85 yard day.
15:21And I wouldn't be surprised at all. If he has over a hundred receptions in year two, simply because I think there's
15:27going to be a lot of volume and there's going to be a lot of targets his way.
15:32And he's a player, strictly speaking for fantasy purposes, he's going to be incredible.
15:36And if you guys are not aware, the Brown second tight end is Joe Royer.
15:40So I think Harold Fannin Jr. is certainly in a position to not only, you know, succeed, but be one of the
15:47best tight ends this year in fantasy football. He is a guy that we were so excited for until the draft, just
15:53because they brought in Denzel Boston and Casey Concepcion, mainly from the bear case of, we just saw him get such a large target share last year.
16:00But what I will say is the talent is so unbelievably undeniable.
16:04And I have wondered if, you know, Mel, we always say talent wins out over situation.
16:08And I do wonder if maybe we've been too bearish on him because of that.
16:13A hundred percent. Cause I believe in the talent wholeheartedly what he can do after the catch is incredible.
16:18I think he is what a lot of people hoped Kyle Pitts would be.
16:22Sorry, Mitch. I know that one hurts your ego as a, as a Kyle Pitts guy.
16:26Uh, I wholeheartedly believe in the talent. The other thing that makes me a little bit concerned is just the departure of Stefanski.
16:33You saw so many manufactured touches going to Fannin's way last year.
16:36Does that continue? The good news is Munkin is a great play caller in his own right.
16:41And we saw the tight ends get pretty heavily involved in the Baltimore offense as well.
16:46So that is the glass half full outlook. And you're right.
16:49If you just want to bet on talent because talent does typically win out.
16:53Fannin proved it last year. He proved it as a rookie usurping David Njoku immediately and becoming not only really the number
16:59one tight end in that offense, but the number one weapon in that offense.
17:03So the talent is undoubtedly there. I also, I don't know if you guys saw this, but they did ask Todd Munkin if he thought Harold Fannin Jr.
17:11Was going to be a focal point of the offense.
17:13And he went like full Kool-Aid man and you just went, oh yeah.
17:17So that feels like all the analysis you really need.
17:20If someone goes Kool-Aid man, I'm instantly in. I don't care about any of my priors.
17:24I'm in. I'm breaking through a wall. Well, I am ready to break through a wall for somebody I keep talking about on this show.
17:32And that is Chris Godwin. I cannot express enough that he was the wide receiver two overall in standard and half point
17:38PPR and the wide receiver one in full point PPR through six weeks back in 2024 before suffering that ankle injury.
17:44People forget about it, but it happens. You can't erase history.
17:47And last year was inevitably going to be a down year for Godwin.
17:50It just wasn't in the cards that he was going to be productive last year.
17:55He wasn't healthy enough to play because of that ankle injury from a year before until October.
17:59Then in October, he suffered a new fibula injury, which was really bad luck.
18:03And by the time he came back and was healthy, which to be honest, I'm not sure exactly how healthy he even was.
18:10Baker Mayfield sure wasn't healthy. He was like the guy from SpongeBob with the paper skin and the glass bones by the
18:16end of injury or every everything that could hurt did hurt for Baker Mayfield down the stretch.
18:21So this whole offense was doomed and Godwin's productivity certainly was as well.
18:25But despite all of this, we saw the talent shine through in small doses, like when he had seven receptions per 108
18:31yards and two touchdowns against Miami in week 17.
18:33And now we go into 2026 with Godwin healthy, with Baker Mayfield healthy, a full off season of rest.
18:39Keep an eye, they didn't make the playoffs last year, which was pretty stunning given the start to the season.
18:44So they got a full off season of rest.
18:47Mike Evans is out of town vacating a lot of targets and Godwin's role in this offense is firmly secure as the slot receiver.
18:54And keep in mind, the Buccaneers gave him a huge contract after the ankle injury.
18:58Mitch, I know you've talked about this. They gave him that extension after he had already suffered that injury, which means they
19:04felt confident that he still had plenty of gas left in the tank after he was fully rehabbed, which they knew would
19:10ultimately be happening in 2025, meaning they knew they weren't going to get that production in 2025.
19:15But for some odd reason, he's going as the wide receiver 40 in drafts, but he's never finished outside the top 40
19:21wide receivers since his rookie year until last year.
19:24He's just a steal at ADP. I, our audience has heard me talk about Chris Godwin ad nauseum too.
19:29So I want to give Garrett the entire stage here to just give his takes on Chris Godwin.
19:34Yeah. I like Chris Godwin. I do worry about his body at this point, which is that's, that's the biggest thing is
19:40how is he really going to come back? And there is a part of me that worries about how many mouths there
19:47are to feed in that receiving room with Jalen McMillan, with Emeka Abuka, with Godwin.
19:51And I'm pretty high on, on third round rookie Ted Hurst, but Godwin is a player.
19:55Godwin is a player that can provide a lot of stability in that room when it's hell or high water, you know,
20:02third and seven, who are we going to go to?
20:04Are we going to go to a third round rookie?
20:07Are we going to go to, you know, Abuku at a down half or down second half of the season last year?
20:13We're going to McMillan, who unfortunately was injured last year.
20:16We're going to go to a guy that's been in the league for a decade.
20:20So I can absolutely see it. And I would say that Chris Godwin in some ways is, is kind of the DeAndre
20:27Swift of the receiver position, just an unsexy pick, but he's going to get the job done far more often than not.
20:33So I can absolutely understand the thought process behind Chris Godwin.
20:36Yeah, that is actually so correct. Like, I feel like this is the exact same situation where, I mean, I guess you
20:42did just say it in 2024, he was the wide receiver one through six weeks, but I think season long, that's not really his ceiling.
20:49However, I think he's going to return on his ADP and you can feel pretty confident in that.
20:54Yeah. I want it on record. I am not saying Chris Godwin will be the wide receiver one.
20:59I need to get out in front of that.
21:02I am saying DeAndre Swift is better than Jameer Gibbs, but not that.
21:06Thank you. But the last thing I'll say to Garrett, like, I'm really glad you brought up those other receivers who I like all those guys as well.
21:13And I agree. Like Tampa Bay has an embarrassment of riches at the wide receiver position.
21:18The nice thing though, is you look at a guy like Jalen Neville or a guy like Ted Hurst profile more as probably X receivers.
21:25And then you have a guy like Godwin, who's probably more of a Y going to play in the slot.
21:31So that gives me a little bit more confident in just him playing a different role than some of those guys.

22:05This is another guy that I feel like I've been hitting all offseason.
22:09That is Isaiah Likely. We just had the report today from Connor Hughes that the Giants appear intent on featuring Isaiah Likely
22:15as the number two option behind Malik Neighbors. He's moved throughout the formation, displayed clear chemistry with Jackson Dart.
22:20They view him more as quote a utility weapon than a traditional tight end.
22:24And yet we're drafting this guy as the 11th tight end off the board when to me he just has so many
22:30glaring green flags heading into the year. From week four on, which is obviously when Jackson Dart had his first start last
22:37year, into week 17, Theo Johnson, a fourth round second year tight end, got 64 targets from Dart.
22:42Now fast forward, the Giants pay Likely three years, 40 million to join the team with incentives up to 47 and a half.
22:48In the nine games in his career as the starting tight end without Mark Andrews, Isaiah Likely's averaged three and a half
22:54receptions for 50 and a half yards and about 0.7 touchdowns a game, which may not sound like a lot, but if
23:01you extrapolate that over an entire fantasy football season, he would have been the tight end three last year.
23:06And now he goes into a better offensive environment for him.
23:09They're already talking about finding creative ways to use him and we're drafting him as the tight end 11.
23:14So he lacks the competition, not only in the tight end depth chart, he lacks it throughout the entire pass catching depth chart.
23:21You're, I don't know if you're worried about guys outside of Lake neighbors.
23:25If you think Odell Beckham senior is going to be getting more receptions or targets.
23:29But for me, this is the clear number two in the New York Giants offense and the opportunity to be, dare I
23:35say, a top five tight end and you're getting him at an absolute steal without having to pay that premium.
23:41Uh, I, I will say that I'm going to push back a little bit.
23:45I'm not worried about Odell Beckham senior. He's probably like 60 years old at this point.
23:49So I'm not really too worried. I'm not too worried about him.
23:52Um, but no, I agree with everything that you're saying.
23:55And I do worry about the Giants receiver, receiver.
23:58I was going to, I got caught there between receiving room and receivers, but the receivers, when they brought in Odell and
24:04Juju Smith Schuster in a span of like 48 hours, what's that say about the future of neighbors?
24:09I, you know, we want Malik neighbors to be the 14 or 1500 yard player.
24:13He can be because he's, he's such an electric player, but Isaiah, Isaiah likely is in a good situation to finally break out.
24:20He's been, I feel like he's been a breakout candidate for a couple of years now where he's going to, you know, finally pass Mark, excuse me.
24:27He's going to finally pass Mark Andrews. And that never, you know, that never happened, but now he has the chance he's
24:34paid like a, like one of the best tight ends in football or a better tight end in his usage and role.
24:40And Isaiah likely is also not going to get confused with Rob Gronkowski or George Kittle, if you will, in, in the run game.
24:47So speaking strictly with what we're talking about at hand fantasy football, I can absolutely get behind Isaiah likely.
24:52Yeah, that is a good point you bring up because I'm a likely guy too, but like people, and I'm guilty of
24:58it all the time too, but people in fantasy like tight ends for wide receiver reasons and think that means that they
25:04should be on the field as if offensive coordinators and head coaches give a single shit about your fantasy team.
25:10It's like, they don't, they're going to put the guy out there that can play in line and that can block in
25:16the run game and set up the play action.
25:19And that's probably what hurt Isaiah likely in Baltimore to at least some extent.
25:23If that carries over into New York, there is a risk there.
25:26But if they just say like, no, we're just going to unleash him, light him up at receiver.
25:31Then from a fantasy football perspective, there's a huge, there's a very high ceiling there.
25:35If he's truly used in that capacity of a very consistent basis.
25:39100%. I'm actually going to push back on Garrett though.
25:42I am worried about Odell Beckham Sr. because when Isaiah likely is getting 10 targets a game, he's going to be on
25:48social media complaining that his son isn't getting enough playing time.
25:51Good call. Good call. Well, thank you guys so much for tuning in.
25:55Those are six of our favorite fantasy football steals for the season.
