PositiveValueNov 2, 2026
Willis led two 70+ yard touchdown drives and passed another test against a Patriots defense that is no pushover in Week 8, though he didn't have a huge fantasy day. Bloom recommends a 12-25% FAAB bid. The Lions are up next, followed by the Colts, Bills, and Jets. Willis didn't add anything as a runner, which won't be the norm going forward. He's a matchup QB1 as long as he keeps improving, and he could graduate to a high-ceiling QB1 worth playing every week if he heats up.
NegativeMatchupOct 27, 2026
Willis faces a daunting road to start the fantasy playoffs. Week 15 requires a cold-weather trip to Green Bay (-3.5), followed by a tough matchup against a decent Chargers secondary in Week 16 (-1.2). Unless you survive until Week 17, Miami's passing attack could struggle to produce before you ever reach the championship game. Playoff schedule: Week 15 @ GB (-3.5), Week 16 vs LAC (-1.2), Week 17 vs BUF (+6.1); 3-week average SOS: +0.47 fantasy points per game with heavy negative drag in Weeks 15-16.

Willis is the per-game QB35 through Week 4, failing to deliver on the preseason expectation that his rushing would make him a viable fantasy asset. He's averaging just 4.8 carries for 28 rushing yards per game. His passing numbers have been horrendous: his passing EPA ranks 45th of 49 qualifying quarterbacks, and no quarterback with over 200 snaps has a lower passing success rate. He's passed for just one touchdown all year. The source notes Willis could have the occasional boom game given his skill set, but he's not startable right now, even in two-quarterback and superflex leagues.

Malik Willis is ranked QB27, down 8 spots from the previous week's rankings. The source notes that while there was an expectation that Willis' rushing would make him a viable fantasy asset, he's the per-game QB35 through Week 4, averaging just 4.8 carries for 28 rushing yards per game. His passing numbers have been horrendous; his passing EPA ranks 45th of 49 qualifying quarterbacks, and no quarterback with over 200 snaps has a lower passing success rate. He's passed for just one touchdown all year. Willis could have the occasional boom game given his skill set, but he's not startable right now.
PositiveSleeperSep 17, 2026
Willis is a sleeper QB option in Week 2 against San Francisco. His debut as the Dolphins starter was promising despite the team operating with a $180 million dead cap charge. The young receiver corps is capable, and Chris Bell is only going to get better coming off an ACL tear. The 49ers run defense showed vulnerability against the Rams, and the Dolphins will likely test them more than Los Angeles did early in the game. The 49ers should build a lead again, allowing Willis to accumulate garbage time points against a prevent defense.
PositiveProjectionSep 10, 2026
Willis has the biggest cheat code in fantasy football: he's a running quarterback who will run a lot by design and on passing plays too. Even abysmal passing quarterbacks with top-end rushing threat can be boom/bust plays week to week, as seen with Justin Fields. He could also be this year's Jacoby Brissett, playing for an overmatched team and fattening up stats in garbage time against defenses nursing 17+ point leads in the fourth quarter. The Raiders matchup should encourage consideration over Jayden Daniels, Patrick Mahomes II, or other earliest-drafted quarterbacks with worrisome outlooks.
PositiveProjectionSep 8, 2026
Willis signed a $45 million guaranteed deal with Miami and gets his 2026 starting opportunity; while the Dolphins offense is dreadful overall, his rushing upside offers weekly fantasy upside. De'Von Achane praised Willis as a smart decision-maker who is effective with his feet when lacking clean passing looks. Against a Raiders defense that may not be especially stout despite offseason improvements, Willis has a shot at a decent Week 1 fantasy line.
PositiveProjectionJul 26, 2026
Willis was brought to Miami by new head coach Jeff Hafley and GM Jon-Eric Sullivan from Green Bay. In three games playing at least 80 percent of Green Bay's snaps, he averaged 23.3 fantasy points, seven carries, nearly 60 rushing yards, and a rushing touchdown—a pace that would top 100 carries over 17 games. His 6.2 yards-per-carry mark over 11 appearances would rank fourth among QBs with 100-plus dropbacks the past two seasons, and his scramble and explosive-run rates would lead all passers. His passing was sharp in Green Bay too: 70-of-89 for 972 yards, six touchdowns, zero picks. Questions about Miami's supporting cast on a rebuilding team keep him at QB20 in Zach Charbonnet. That's rankings, but quarterbacks who threaten 100 rushing attempts don't need to be elite passers to become elite fantasy options. Willis' legs matter more than his ADP suggests, and as QB21 in Round 10, he's a cheap bet with real upside.

Willis was signed by the Dolphins in free agency after impressing in limited opportunities with Green Bay. In three games playing at least 80 percent of snaps, he averaged 23.3 fantasy points, seven carries, nearly 60 rushing yards, and a rushing touchdown—a pace that would top 100 carries over 17 games. His 6.2 yards-per-carry mark over 11 appearances would rank fourth among QBs with 100-plus dropbacks the past two seasons, and his scramble and explosive-run rates would lead all passers. His passing was also sharp: 70-of-89 for 972 yards, six touchdowns, zero picks.
PositiveValueJul 26, 2026
Willis is ranked QB18 by the source but going at ADP 137 (QB21), making him a free square draft pick. Despite a weak supporting cast and tiny two-game sample size last year, his rushing upside mirrors Justin Fields' weekly QB1 potential. He could also benefit from garbage time drives and red zone rushing opportunities, positioning him as a potential Jacoby Brissett-type with added rushing value, especially in leagues with point per 25 pass yards and four-point passing touchdowns.
PositiveBreakoutJul 26, 2026
Willis signed a three-year, $67 million contract with Miami but faces a depleted skill position group. However, his rushing ability provides fantasy viability: in six career starts, he averaged 44.8 rushing yards per game with four rushing touchdowns; over 11 appearances with Green Bay in 2024-2025, he completed 78.7% of passes and averaged 10.9 yards per attempt with six TD passes and zero interceptions. Despite mediocre passing numbers expected with the Dolphins' weak receiving corps, Willis' running ability combined with garbage-time opportunities from playing behind a potentially worst-in-NFL team could generate significant rushing value at ADP 137.

Willis joined the Dolphins after being signed by new HC Jeff Hafley and GM Jon-Eric Sullivan from Green Bay. In three games playing 80%+ snaps, he averaged 23.3 fantasy points with seven carries, nearly 60 rushing yards, and a rushing TD—a pace that would top 100 carries over 17 games. His 6.2 yards-per-carry over 11 appearances ranks fourth among QBs with 100+ dropbacks the past two seasons, with scramble and explosive-run rates leading all passers. His passing was sharp in Green Bay (70-of-89, 972 yards, 6 TDs, 0 INTs). Bob Harris ranks him QB20 conservatively due to Miami's rebuilding supporting cast, but at QB21 in Round 10, Willis is a cheap bet with real upside; quarterbacks threatening 100 rushing attempts don't need elite passing to become elite fantasy options.

Willis was acquired by the Dolphins in free agency and has demonstrated elite rushing upside. In three games with Green Bay where he played at least 80 percent of snaps, Willis averaged 23.3 fantasy points, 7 carries, nearly 60 rushing yards, and 1 rushing touchdown per game—a pace that would exceed 100 rushing attempts over 17 games. His 6.2 yards-per-rush mark would rank fourth among passers with 100-plus dropbacks over the past two seasons (behind Murray, Mayfield, and Rattler); his 13 percent scramble rate and 11.8 percent explosive run rate would lead all QBs. Ben Solak noted Willis is a legitimate threat with the ball. Underrated Quarterbacks ranks Willis conservatively at QB20 but notes that quarterbacks threatening 100 rushing attempts don't need elite passing to become elite fantasy options. Drafting Willis as QB21 in the 10th round could yield huge dividends.
