0:00What is going on everyone? We are back and today it is time to get prepped for another waiverwire cycle. Just to let
0:11you all know. If you need a running back this week, good luck because it's really brutal. We've got a lot of fun wide
0:18receivers to get through today. A couple quarterbacks and tight ends as well. My name is Michael O'Hara.
0:25Let's get right into it. All right. As always, we will be kicking things off at the quarterback position. The number one
0:30trending pickup is CJ Strad. He is rostered in 60% of sleeper leagues, so we won't be getting too deep into him.
0:37All I'll say is that if you do not have him and he is still available and you need a quarterback, go snatch him up.
0:42The guy has straight up been hooping this year. But the big pickup among the guys who are available in single quarterback leagues that you should be
0:50looking to is Kyler Murray. He has not been great this year. There's no way around it. He has been completing a lot
0:57of his passes. You'll see week in and week out. His completion rate has been pretty high, but the production hasn't necessarily been there. He hasn't been
1:06particularly efficient either, but it's a cupcake schedule coming up. The Colts defense has been horrible. We all know the story with the Lions, the Buffalo
1:13Bills as well. Their defense has been outright horrific this year. That's a lot of spots, a series of games where you can see Kyler Murray get going
1:22alongside Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, TJ Hawinson, all the weapons that they have there in Minnesota. We know that he can add some juice on the
1:30ground as well in that game against the Saints. He has a ton of scrambles. Ends up racking up 51 rushing yards. So,
1:35there's enough there to be interested in Kyler Murray if you're in need of some help at the quarterback position, especially in week eight, in week nine
1:43when we know that the opposing offense is strong enough to push the Vikings into a spot where they're going to be
1:49forced to drop back a ton, lean on Kyler Murray and the offense. So, Kyler Murray, as the pool of interesting streaming options continues to get
1:57smaller and smaller, as these guys like Straoud, Aaron Rogers, Kirk Cousins, they all get picked up and rostered in these leagues, Kyler Murray is
2:05definitely one of the ones who I would be keeping my eye on given the upcoming schedule. The other one that you could
2:10potentially get to in a single quarterback league is Michael Penn. I think the Penn situation is really straightforward. The Falcons offense has
2:20been really good with Michael Penn under center. We see in this game against the Packers, they go for something like 45
2:26points, a bunch of points against the Saints, 23 points against both the Ravens and the Bears. The offense has been in a really good spot with Michael
2:34Penn under center. They do have a couple of losses, but I think generally speaking, our conclusions, our thoughts about the Falcons since Michael Penn has
2:42returned generally positive. The real question is what side of the touchdown variance, what side of the touchdown numbers is he going to fall on when they
2:50get into the red zone. Are they going to throw or are they going to run it in with Bejian Robinson or Brian Robinson?
2:54And that quite clearly shows up in the numbers. He has just one passing touchdown in each of his first three outings and he has lackluster
3:02performances in fantasy. And then in week six against the Bears with the Falcons in catch-up mode, he throws three touchdowns and that leads to a
3:10high-end performance. So, your guess is as good as mine in terms of what side of the touchdown number he's going to fall
3:16on, whether they come through the air or on the ground. But knowing that this is an offense that is capable of pushing
3:22for 30 points in any given week, you know, at a minimum, there is likely going to be opportunities for Michael Penn to put the ball in the end zone and
3:30get those four or six fantasy points for your team that come through the passing touchdowns. In week seven, this is a
3:36spot where we can see the Falcons offense get pushed. need Michael Pennix to drop back to pass a good amount and
3:42rely on his arm against the San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers for as banged up as they have been on the offensive
3:48side of the ball. Their offense just continues to hum, continues to score points and put opposing teams in situations where they are turning to
3:56their passing attack trying to play catch-up. So, I wouldn't be super optimistic just knowing that this is entirely a gamble and sort of like a
4:04scratchoff lottery ticket as to whether those touchdowns will come through the air. It's not anything crazy exciting, but this is definitely a spot where we
4:12can see the Falcons offense rack up some yardage and some touchdowns through the air here against the 49ers. All right, two quick hitting names for Superflex.
4:20Tanner McKe, he will be the starting quarterback for either the entire season or the foreseeable future for the Philadelphia Eagles. Jaylen Herz dealing
4:30with blood clots. Hopefully, he's all right, but he's expected to miss the rest of the year. McKe in his first start, we see a ton of dropbacks out of
4:40McKe and the Philadelphia Eagles offense. 45 pass attempts for Tanner McKe. He was wildly inefficient on those pass attempts. Only 26 completions, 215
4:50yards. Yards per play numbers, EPA per play numbers, really, really poor out of the Eagles. But knowing that they trust him to drop back a ton and sling the
4:59rock, that is encouraging. And this week against the Dallas Cowboys, a defense that seems to be attackable regardless of who's under center. I mean, we saw
5:08Jaylen Daniels have some level of success against this Cowboys defense.
5:12It's a similar story with the Washington Commanders as well. So, in a superflex league, knowing that you're going to get a ton of starts out of Tanner McKe, not
5:20going to be the prettiest, but in leagues where you just simply need those starts, I think that he is worth a
5:26pickup. The other name that pops up is JJ McCarthy. I mean, what a performance out of JJ McCarthy. You see 243 yards
5:34here, a touchdown, and an INT. All of that comes in the fourth quarter. 17 fantasy points in the fourth quarter out
5:42of JJ McCarthy. And I don't, it wasn't even a full fourth quarter. I believe it was roughly 11 minutes for JJ McCarthy.
5:48So, he was slinging the rock. That doesn't necessarily change my long-term outlook of JJ McCarthy. have a larger sample of McCarthy being just frankly
6:00horrible. But given the recent play of Jameus Winston, given the fact that this is very soon going to be a loss season
6:07for the Giants a as a team and McCarthy does play well in the limited opportunity that he receives, it would be no surprise whatsoever if Harbaugh
6:17and the Giants coaching staff soon turn to JJ McCarthy, name him the starter in the short term while they figure out
6:23what to do moving forward with Dart and all that stuff that's going on in New York. Harbaugh is already on record
6:29saying that he has a decision to make.
6:31He won't say who the starter is going to be in week seven, but we know at a minimum they are thinking about getting
6:36McCarthy under center. So, we'll see what happens. But if you're in a superflex league, again, you just need some starts out of a quarterback. I
6:43think McCarthy is a name to consider.
6:45Not super optimistic about what he's going to be able to do moving forward, but starts at the end of the day. Moving
6:51over to the running back position.
6:54Really gross. Really gross. There's really no way around it. No high-end pickup, but Roshan Johnson leads the pack in my opinion. If you are in
7:03desperate need of a spot start in week seven, I think that you can get to Roshan Johnson. So with Kyle Manungai
7:10sideline, he has missed each of the last two games. Roshan Johnson has stepped up as the complimentary running back behind DeAndre Swift. You see him here hovering
7:19right around a 40% snap rate in each of the last two games. In week five, we did see the Bears get absolutely blown out
7:26at the hands of the Packers with Tyson Bean and Case Keenum under center. So, in that sort of game script, we don't
7:33see Roshan Johnson get too many opportunities. He does draw seven targets and has five receptions, but generally speaking, not too much of a
7:40role for Roshan Johnson in a blowout.
7:43But last week, again, right around 40% of the snaps. And with Chicago playing with a comfortable lead, we see him get
7:4813 carries and two targets. He punches in a touchdown on the ground as well.
7:53And he would have had a second touchdown, but at the very end of the game with just over a minute to go, he
7:58decides to go down at the Falcons one or two yardd line so Caleb Williams can knee the ball out and the Bears can lock
8:06up a win. So could have been a little bit better in the box score for Roshan Johnson. I will note that out of 13
8:14carries for Roshan Johnson, eight did come in the fourth quarter when the Bears were just blowing out the Atlanta Falcons, the game does end up being a
8:23little bit closer than what we actually saw. The Bears throughout the entirety of that fourth quarter, at least for the most part, were playing with a pretty
8:30significant lead. So, he does pile up a lot of that usage, a lot of those carries in a blowout game script. So,
8:37the box score and the overall usage numbers might be lying to us here a little bit. Still, I think that we can
8:45understand that there is going to be some sort of a role for Roshan Johnson with Kyle Manungai out of the picture
8:51and the Bears are in a in the midst of a short week. They play on Thursday night football against the Patriots. Manungai
8:57was listed as an estimated DNP on Monday. So, I'm expecting Manungai to be sidelined once again with Roshan Johnson operating in that RB2 role for the
9:07Bears. We know what the deal is with this offense. This offense is as highpowered as they come with Caleb Williams under center. It has been
9:14particularly valuable on the ground and for the running backs as well. So, I think that if you need a spot start,
9:20Roshan Johnson, it's a gross one.
9:22There's a wide range of outcomes for how he is used, how he is deployed, but this is a really strong offense against the
9:28Patriots who have found their stride over the last couple weeks. This can be a really fun matchup for fantasy football. A lot of scoring potentially
9:35an inside the 10, inside the five carry for Roshan Johnson as well. So, I wouldn't be getting very aggressive, but a handful of dollars, uh, six to eight%
9:45of your fab budget to get Roshan Johnson onto your roster if you need a short-term starter. So Travis Achan was placed on IR a couple of weeks ago. And
9:55in the last three weeks, we have seen some really weird things coming out of the Saints backfield. In week four, it
10:02was the Alvin Chimera show. He hits 20 PPR points, has a couple of touchdowns, hauls in a few balls. But since then, we
10:08have seen a whole lot of Kendra Miller.
10:11This past week, Miller plays 44.4% 4% of the snaps and leads the backfield with you see a ridiculous 20 carries in that
10:20game. And we have also seen over the last two weeks Kre Miller has been the go-to guy at the goal line for the
10:26Saints which again is a difference from what we saw in week four when Chimera was punching in touchdowns against the Atlanta Falcons in that week four
10:34matchup. Miller has seen four of the five inside the five carries for the Saints over the last couple weeks. I think that this is pretty explainable.
10:43In that week four game, Alvin Chimera picks up a back injury. He was seemingly truly questionable heading into week five and then in week six, he aggravates
10:52that back injury. He falls hard while diving for a pass, lands on his back, leaves the game for a little while. He
10:58does return, but because of that back injury, I think that we have seen Kendrick Miller get some increased usage, see a larger role than Kell Moore
11:07was potentially planning to deploy him in. I think that is also what's driving the goal line usage. They don't want to
11:12just ram Alvin Chimera into the line of scrimmage, into the trenches when he's got a bad back. So, I would be keeping
11:19an eye on the reporting about Alvin Chimera's health. see how heavily he is participating in practice. But I do think that we can expect to see Kendra
11:29Miller be the primary ball carrier for the Saints offense moving forward until either Han returns or Alvin Chimera is good to go, ready to take on a larger
11:39workload. That role as the primary ball carrier has not been particularly valuable. Kendra Miller, he's not that good. You you see it here in the yards
11:49per carry numbers. three yards per carry, three and a half yards per carry.
11:53The Saints ground game in its entirety has not been effective. So, it's not someone I'm excited to get out of my
11:59teams, but when you know someone can get to 20 carries in any given week, can be the team's leading rusher. He led the
12:07team the backfield in snaps last week, when you know someone has that sort of outlook, you can tell yourself the story. If he gets to 15 carries, 75
12:16yards on the ground, and punches in a score, that is going to be a serviceable week. So, if you're in a really bad spot
12:22at running back, I think he definitely deserves to be rostered. All right, let's quickly address the Browns backfield once again with Quinn Sean
12:31Judkins sidelined and Dylan Samson still making his return from IR. We saw Jal Mclofflin serve as the lead back for the
12:41Cleveland Browns this past week. 63% of snaps you see there. Handles nine carries, draws four targets. The only real knock on how Mclofflin was
12:50deployed. I mean, you can talk about his individual talent, his performance, but in terms of his deployment, his role in usage, he does seed the lone goal line
12:59carry for the Browns to Audrey Esté. The Browns had one snap from inside the 5yd line this past week. It is a carry that
13:06goes to Audrey Esté. So, that puts a damper on Mclofflin's outlook. I mean, you just look at his physical profile, 5'7, 187 pounds. It is no surprise that
13:15in short yardage situations that they wanted to go to Aric estimate. Still, that usage is pretty rock solid. 63% of the snaps, getting a bunch of carries,
13:25getting work in the receiving game. So, if Judkins misses another game and Samson remains sidelined, I would expect Julio Mclofflin to repraise that role.
13:36Much like some of these other guys that we've been talking about, it's nothing exciting, especially against the Tennessee Titans who have been
13:41relatively stout against the run this year. Nothing especially exciting, but knowing that they're going to lead the back field in touches, lead the
13:48backfield in snaps, there's enough there to view him as a break glass in case of emergency starter. The other name here
13:56is Dylan Samson. He is slowly making his return from IR. he gets in a couple of limited practices this past week before
14:05ultimately being ruled out. If he is good to go and Judkins misses another week with that ankle injury, I would expect Samson to lead the backfield. I
14:13think he's just straight up a better player than either Jal Mclofflin or Audrey Esté. So, I think he is worth a
14:20stash as well. I think a lot of people will end up prioritizing either Esté or Jal Mclofflin on the waiver wire this
14:26week. But, I really like stashing Dylan Samson. I mean, it's not anything crazy, but he is my preferred option in deeper
14:33leagues, just seeing if he's good to go because my personal expectation is that he would operate as the 1A should Judkins miss any time and he is good to
14:41go. So, keep an eye on him because he hasn't played. You can probably get him for pretty cheap on the waiverwire, not
14:48spend any fab at all, honestly, to bring in Dylan Samson. So, he is the one that I would have circled while letting other
14:54folks uh fight for the scraps of Julio Mclofflin and Audrey Estate. All right, we'll hit on Tyrone Tracy really quickly. One of the weirdest, like
15:03biggest defining storylines of week six was that the Giants just straight up benched Cam Scataboo. He plays six snaps and does not record a single touch. As a
15:14result, we see a pretty ugly three-way committee between Tracy, who plays 30 snaps, Devin Singleary, who plays 26 snaps, and Naji Harris, who plays 11
15:23snaps. And Tracy, he does lead the backfield in snaps. And frankly, he does take advantage of the opportunity. You see, he turns eight touches into 45
15:33yards from scrimmage and a pair of touchdowns. So, he has a couple of nice plays. He shows a nose for the end zone.
15:40But zooming out, looking at things moving forward, I think that there are likely two outcomes for this backfield, neither of which likely lead to much
15:49fantasy value for Tyrone Tracy. First and foremost, this is simply a slap on the wrist for Cam Scataboo. He was benched because of all the fumbles that
15:57he had in the previous weeks. Most significantly, the one in overtime against the Commanders, which cost the Giants a win. I think that most likely
16:05it was a slap on the wrist. He comes back and leads the backfield next week.
16:09If that is not the case, I still think that this is probably a pretty ugly committee where none of the running
16:15backs rise to a role and outplay the other guys that leads to any sort of fantasy value. Again, it's nice to see
16:23him pop in the box score, but 38% of the snaps, six carries, splitting touches with Harris, Single Terry, and potentially Scataboo moving forward,
16:32just not really anything to get too excited about. But if you liked what you saw out of Tyrone Tracy, you think that
16:38his nose for the end zone, the couple of plays that he did make will lead to him getting more touches in super super deep
16:45leagues, I think you can tell yourself a story. Still, I I'm not going to let the box score let the 18.5 PPR points play
16:53too many tricks on me. I I think this is a pretty cut and dry situation. We'll close things out here at running back
16:59with a couple of wait and see guys. I talked about Sanjay Perine last week and the Bengals had their buy in week six,
17:05so I'm not going to talk about this too much, but in week five, we see Perine get pretty heavily involved. 14 carries
17:11and he was effective with those carries, 4.8 8 yards per carry and he does get opportunities at the goal line as well.
17:18So if this is turning into something of a split back field, I think that Perine could be a nice ad because we know how
17:25strong the Bengals offense is with Joe Burrow running the show, plenty of scoring opportunities, plenty of touches going around, drives being sustained,
17:32you know the story with the Bengals. So if this is a true 1A 1B situation, there can be something there for Perine in
17:39terms of being a by-week or an injury fillin. At a minimum though, it does seem that we now know that the Bengals
17:45coaching staff, the offense trusts Perine as a ball carrier because over the last couple years, he's primarily been known as a third down back, a
17:52passcatching specialist, pass protection specialist. But if they trust him as a rusher, there's some handcuff value there as well. Once again, nothing has
18:00really changed since last week, since week five. So, I would be stashing Perine on benches, just 8% rostered, seeing if the usage that we saw in week
18:09five is anything sticky. even if it's not again some level of handcuff value there as well but one of the big stashes
18:16one of the guys who if I am in a good spot at running back don't need an immediate starter I would definitely be
18:23looking to stash Jonah Coleman the Broncos offense disaster like completely lifeless this year so many things to talk through so many issues to pinpoint
18:32and fix has been terrible individually but there's no denying it that he has been getting no help from JK Dobbins and the
18:40ground game. Dobbins has been terrible this year. 3.3 yards per carry, bottom of the barrel in most rushing efficiency metrics. His job is anything but safe.
18:50As soon as Jonah Coleman is back on the field, which could be as early as this week, I expect him to have the chance to
18:58challenge JK Dobbins for the primary ball carrier role in the Denver Broncos offense. whether or not he succeeds, whether or not this offense bounces back
19:09to a point where there is legitimate fantasy value in this backfield, like high-end fantasy value in this backfield. We know that they can fall in
19:16for touchdowns. RJ Harvey can rack up a bunch of receptions and deliver some nice weeks, but you would like to see
19:22this offense take some steps forward if you're going to be investing in this backfield. So, who knows what happens with the backfield touches, what happens
19:29with the offense moving forward, but there's no doubt that this is one of the few situations where we can legitimately see a rookie or a young player come in
19:37and just straight up steal someone's job because JK Dobbins, any way you want to slice it, just has not been good. So, if
19:43you need some running back help, you've got a bench slot to burn one that's open or potentially just even stash him in
19:49your IR slot while seeing whether or not he is going to be activated this week. I think Jonah Coleman is a really, really
19:55strong pickup while just seeing how things play out alongside Dobbins.
19:59Moving over to the wide receivers here.
20:02We're going to try and be quick with this one because there is a ton of names at wide receiver. If you need help at
20:08the wide receiver position, this is a week to get active. There are so many interesting either stashes or potential spot starters. That list kicks off with
20:17Jets rookie Omar Cooper. In his first NFL game, he runs one route. It results in a 30ard reception and then he goes
20:26down with an ankle injury and ankle sprain. He is placed on IR. He then returns in week six and he is just
20:34balling. He puts on a total show. The most encouraging thing is to see that he is operating in a full-time role as soon
20:41as he makes his return. You see the 82% snap share there, 81.8% route rate. He turns those opportunities, those routes into a 23.3% target share. seven
20:52targets, 0.26 targets per route run. He hauls in six balls for 103 yards and a score. And much of that production does
21:00come on a 48 yard bomb touchdown from Gino Smith. But altogether, this is an incredibly encouraging return. And frankly, that's this is just his NFL
21:09debut, his first time seeing legitimate run in an NFL offense. I think that there are some holes that you can obviously poke in Cooper moving forward.
21:18Is he gonna outtarget Garrett Wilson week in and week out? No chance. Is Adini Mitchell's return, which could happen here in the next couple of weeks,
21:26is that gonna further muddy the waters?
21:28I think so. Still, this is just about all you can ask for out of a rookie in what is once again effectively their NFL
21:36debut. I do think that he could be an immediate starter against the Miami Dolphins defense, especially assuming Adnai Mitchell does not return. expect
21:45to see op him operate as the wide receiver too alongside Garrett Wilson in this favorable matchup against the Dolphins. But generally I I do think he
21:54is more of a wait andsee kind of situation. See if Gino Smith and the Jets offense can sustain multiple pass catchers. See if he can consistently
22:02command a fantasy viable number of targets in this offense as well. Could you go to him in week seven? Sure. But I
22:08think this is more of a bench stash. See if we can get one of those classic second half rookie breakouts. On the
22:14opposite end of the spectrum, we've got Keenan Allen. Not going to spend too much time with this one. I talked about
22:19him in previous Waverwire shows. The deal is so straightforward with Keenan Allen. The guy is going to be on the field, and the guy simply earns targets,
22:27at least nine targets in each of his last three games. In two of those games, he has eclipsed 15 PPR points. With
22:33Tyler Warren banged up, we'll see if he's good to go for week seven. I have seen some speculation that that will not
22:39be the case. So if Tyler Warren remains sideline, a clearer path to targets for Keenan Allen. Daniel Jones ha has been
22:46terrible. He's had a flare up of TDS.
22:48He's just been turbo dog [ __ ] this year.
22:51Even still with Keenan Allen operating in the shallow portions of the field, in the intermediate portions of the field.
22:56Daniel Jones can deliver catchable balls to Keenan Allen. He can get there on the back of volume. This guy is the epitome
23:02of a spot start in your flex. You got someone on buy, you got someone injured.
23:06you can start Keenan Allen because you know that because of that volume, he's going to have a reasonable floor and he's not going to burn you in most
23:13weeks. Moving back to some of the stashes though, Travis Hunter, man, like things are starting to finally move in his favor. It's not perfect just yet in
23:24terms of the usage, in terms of the offensive snap numbers. Still, everything is moving in his direction and he looks fantastic. The conversation
23:31with Travis Hunter has never been about talent. He is a quality route runner, arguably even a high-end elite route runner. He can generate separation. He
23:40is so shifty with the ball in his hands.
23:43He is so good at the wide receiver position. The question has never been about his talent. It's been about his playing time. And early in the year, he
23:50was operating as almost exclusively a defensive only player. We do see things start to tick up in the right direction on the offensive side of the ball. In
23:58week six, he runs seven routes, good for a 16.3% route rate. Both of those were season highs on those routes. He draws
24:06four targets and turns it into a 459 and one stat line. And again, he passes the eye test. He looks so good on the
24:13offensive side of the ball in that game.
24:16And on the other side of the equation, elsewhere in the Jaguars offense, we're seeing Brian Thomas Jr. just heading to zero. Man, playing time has been a
24:26talking point surrounding Brian Thomas Jr. to this point in the year, but he plays straight up zero snaps in the second half of that game against the
24:34Houston Texans. Liam Cohen says after the game like guys just got to make plays. So, it seems that they are heading in another direction in terms of
24:41their depth wide receivers, the guys behind Jacobe Myers and Parker Washington. The decline of Brian Thomas Jr. obviously opens doors for Travis
24:50Hunter. Where Travis Hunter's role caps out at in terms of routes, his usage, I'm not sure. I think that it will
24:58continue to decline. What the ceiling looks like, again, I'm not entirely sure. But with Brian Thomas Jr. on the decline, with Travis Hunter making so
25:06many spectacular plays, if you've got a bench spot to burn, if you don't really need immediate wide receiver help, I would love to just see what happens with
25:15this guy. See what happens in terms of his role in deployment because again, he is so good. This is an offense that I
25:22want to invest in. Love Trevor Lawrence.
25:24Love Liam Cohen. So, just see what happens with this guy. I would be very, very comfortable stashing him on my bench if I am in a good spot with the
25:32rest of my wide receivers. Another guy who has been just straight up making plays this year is Jaylen Null. He has
25:40been fantastic for the Houston Texans over the last couple of weeks. He goes for 107 yards and a score in this past
25:48game. Week five, he has another touchdown. Week four, he hauls in a 50ard reception. He has been just a straightup playmaker for the Houston
25:57Texans over the last couple weeks. Over those last three weeks, he's now averaging 15.9 PPR points per game. And across the full season, he ranks sixth
26:05among wide receivers in yards per route run. That is among wide receivers who have run at least 100 routes. He is
26:11averaging 2.69 yards per route run. He has been balling. The real question is whether or not the Texans are going to
26:19get him into a full-time role because they refuse to get this guy onto the field for every single drop back. He has
26:25been used as a rotational wide receiver alongside guys like Xavier Hutchinson, Kahan Booty, and Marvin Harrison is now in the mix as well. He should be getting
26:34ramped up here in the next couple of weeks. And Tank Dell is also making his return to the lineup. So things could
26:40get really hairy. But I am inclined to believe that just given how well he is playing, the Texans coaching staff going
26:46to be logical, going to be some rational thinkers there in the building, I hope he starts to get more playing time, but
26:52that has not been the case. Across the full season, his route rate sits at just 51.2% and he has not hit 65% in a single
27:00game. If that number does not improve, it is going to be hard for him to be a consistent fantasy producer. can't run
27:0660% of the routes week in and week out and expect to get double- digit fantasy points each and every week. So, we'll
27:12see. Considering how well he has played, I am optimistic that his role expands, but for the time being, know that the
27:19full-time role is not yet there for Jaylen Null. I think that he is an emergency starter or a wait andsee bench
27:25stash while hoping that that role improves. I'll be pretty quick on Jacobe Lane here. He makes his return for the first time since week one after he
27:34suffered a fractured wrist in his NFL debut. He is eased in in his return.
27:3955.3% route rate on those limited routes. He does post some solid numbers.
27:44Five targets, four receptions, 40 yards.
27:46So, he looks fine. He posts an okay day in the box score, eight PPR points, but I still think that this guy is worth a
27:54stash. He was one of the most steamy, hyped up rookies coming into the year.
27:57Had the training camp of a lifetime.
27:59looks good in the preseason as well. And of course, this game in week six does not come alongside Lamar Jackson.
28:06Jackson has been sidelined with an ankle injury, but when he has been healthy, this has been one of the most explosive,
28:11most efficient offenses in the league.
28:13One that we want pieces of, I think, that lane once he gets ramped up, he's in a full-time role. He can solidify
28:18himself as the clear-cut secondary pass catcher behind Zay Flowers with Lamar Jackson under center. Knowing the quality of this offense, this can be
28:25really exciting. So, I would want to stash Jacobe Lane on benches while just seeing how things look like once Lamar Jackson makes his return. Another one of
28:34the big names this week is going to be Canada Mumfield. He is now on paper at least the Los Angeles Rams wide receiver
28:422. Devonte Adams is going to be sidelineed for six to 10 weeks after he suffers a ruptured hamstring.
28:50While Mumfield is probably going to be second on the team among the wide receivers in terms of routes run for the
28:57foreseeable future, I am still skeptical of what that route total looks like and how valuable the role is for fantasy football. So, the Rams, they are
29:07notorious at this point for utilizing multi-tight end sets. So far this year, 40.5% of their plays have come out of 12
29:15or 13 personnel. And JJ Zachary of late round fantasy had a really good note on this. In a limited sample of plays in
29:24which Devonte Adams has been off the field this year, they have used 13 personnel on 86% of those plays. So in
29:3213 personnel, only one wide receiver on the field. That is obviously going to be Puka moving forward. So even with Mumfield being second on the depth chart
29:42on paper, what does that role look like?
29:44I think moving forward we see a lot of Puka Nakua and a ton of two and three tight end sets. Mumfield is worth a
29:52pickup, but I just don't think it's as much of a slam dunk as a lot of people would seem to think. Can you get to him
29:59in deeper leagues? Of course. This is the Rams offense after all, even though they have had some struggles. We know what the situation is here. So, I would
30:07be picking up Mumfield, spending 5% of your fab budget, six, seven% of your fa fab budget on him. But this isn't like a
30:14fist pump, run it to the podium, get him onto your team right away kind of situation. We've got another one of
30:19those wait andsee rookies and that is Antonio Williams. He had been talked about on some waiverwire shows in the past because he has popped. He has
30:27flashed. In week one, he goes four for 64 and one in his NFL debut. And then in week four, he has an 87 yard house call
30:36which a ton with a ton of yak called off the board because of an illegal shift penalty. So he has had some moments. He
30:42has had some flashes. Those made him worth rostering in deep leagues to just see what happens. But now he is going to
30:49have a pretty big opportunity in front of him. Terry McLaren suffers a seemingly pretty serious leg injury on Monday Night Football last night. As a
30:58result, we see Antonio Williams lead the Commanders with 35 routes on 47 Jaden Daniels dropbacks. whether or not he
31:07becomes a consistent target earner in this offense alongside guys like Stefon Diggs, Chiggo Conqua, we know Rashad White can get some usage in the
31:16receiving game as well. Whether or not that happens, that remains to be seen.
31:19We see that show up last night despite leading the team in routes run at the wide receiver position. He still only
31:25draws four targets in a game with plenty of dropback volume. Still, the opportunity is in front of him. This is still a rookie who we have seen pop in
31:34the past. It is tough considering he is going into a buy. You're going to have to just light a roster spot on fire for
31:40the week. Still, I think he is worth a pickup knowing that there are going to be routes and we have seen some
31:45playmaking ability out of Antonio Williams to this point in the year. To close things out, we are going to hit on
31:50some roster band-aid type of guys, guys that you can pick up and get into your lineup right away if you do not have a
31:58bunch of solidified starters for your wide receiver core or your flex dot.
32:01First and foremost, Deario Douglas. We see AJ Brown this past week. He is quite clearly still knocking the rust off. And
32:08Romeo Dobs goes down with an injury. He has been placed on IR. M. Hollands is still banged up. So, lot of things to
32:16deal with in the Patriots wide receiver room, but Demario Douglas has thankfully stepped up. He shows up once again in week six on 74.2% of the routes. Douglas
32:26draws 26.7% of the targets and scores 19.6 PPR points. He has 86 receiving yards and a touchdown on the game. I
32:35think that with all the injuries, all the absences, and AJ Brown still getting his legs under him, we can see Douglas
32:41command a meaningful number of targets in the short-term future. We have seen the volume be pretty volatile week to week. Seven targets, two targets, five
32:49targets, eight targets. Still, with all the injuries, I think that he's going to play a pretty nice role. We know that at
32:54this point in the year, Drake May has hit his stride. He's balling. This is an offense. This is a game on the road
32:59against the Bears that we can see back and forth between these two offenses. A lot of scoring, a lot of scoring
33:05opportunities. So, Deario Douglas, I would view him as a short-term flex play while AJ Brown gets going and before M.
33:12Hollands and Romeo Dobs make their return. The other roster band-aids are the guys in the San Francisco 49ers wide receiver room. They deal with yet
33:22another injury in week six. Mike Evans goes down with Achilles tendinitis. He is expected to be okay, but he will almost certainly miss week seven and
33:32then try to make his return after the 49ers week eight buy. In his place, we saw Brandon Cooks operate as the San
33:41Francisco 49ers exceiver. After Mike Evans leaves the game, we see Cooks ultimately run 16 routes and he earns one target. There will be routes there
33:50for Brandon Cooks in place of Evans as the 49ers ex receiver. Whether or not he earns targets, again, that is very much
33:59up in the air. We saw Christian McCaffrey go for 10 targets in this game. We saw George KD see a ton of
34:04volume. I expect the offense to flow through McAffrey and KD in the short-term future as some of these wide receivers make their return from injury.
34:13still knowing the quality of this offense, knowing that routes are almost certainly going to be there for Cooks. I think that he is a break glass in case
34:20of emergency kind of flex play. Just hoping he can rack up some volume because this is such a good offense with
34:26Kyle Shanahan as the play caller, Brock Perie as the quarterback. Kyle Shanahan can basically scheme up anyone he wants to to get open and pile up some
34:34receptions. So, I think there will be some opportunities for Brandon Cooks in week seven in a pretty fun matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. The other
34:42name to keep an eye on in this wide receiver room is Christian Kirk. He is reportedly maybe going to make his
34:49return in week seven. That is what Kyle Shanahan had to say after the game in week six. He has been on IR with a calf
34:56injury if he is good to go in this game.
34:58Expect him to run a bunch of routes. He is the established veteran. He has looked pretty bad in the last couple
35:04years, but when the competition is guys like Jordan Watkins, Jacob Cowing, I would expect Christian Kirk to be on the field quite often. But I wouldn't want
35:12to just jam him onto my rosters, pick him up, be aggressive in this spot because there is still some uncertainty as to whether he's going to be good to
35:19go. Looking at the tight ends now, Tyler Higgby and Hunter Henry, I think that they should both be picked up if they
35:26are available. We're not going to talk about that in depth because both of them are rostered in more than 50% of
35:31leagues, but Higgby talked about all the tight end stuff and the injury to Devonte Adams. expect Higgby to run a ton of routes until Terence Ferguson
35:39makes his return, which he is eligible to do in week eight. Higgby has played a nice role. He will see plenty of volume
35:46with Devonte Adams out of the picture moving forward. Pick him up if he's still available. Hunter Henry talked about the banged up receiving core in
35:53New England. He benefits from that in week six. Goes for five targets, four receptions, and a touchdown in the spot against the Bears where we can
36:00reasonably expect to see plenty of scoring. I think that he is worth a pickup. But among the guys who are rostered in less than 50% of the
36:07leagues, Terrence Ferguson, this is the guy. This is the guy to pick up and target. He is currently on IR with an
36:14ankle injury, but once he makes his return, I expect him to be the primary beneficiary of the Devonte Adams injury.
36:22Again, we talked about all the tight end stuff, expecting them to lean on multi-tight end sets pretty heavily with Devonte Adams out of the picture. And in
36:31those multi-tight end sets, I would expect to see Terrence Ferguson operate basically as a wide receiver. He is listed as a tight end, but I expect him
36:41to be running a ton of routes out of the slot, lining up out wide, basically just using his athletic traits and putting
36:47him on display, making him a na matchup nightmare. He is 6'5, 250 pounds, and one of the most athletic tight ends in
36:55the NFL. Shawn McVey knows what he has in Terren Ferguson. There were rumblings all offseason long about Ferguson being basically the third wide receiver in
37:05this offense behind Adams and Nua. And with Adams now out of the picture, expect him to step up and play a larger
37:11role. And the thesis, the idea of him being the third wide receiver that has shown up in his deployment so far in
37:17three games, 42% of his routes have come from the slot. 16.7% have come out wide.
37:23He's also proven that he can earn targets on those routes. His targets per route run number comes in at 0.29 29 on
37:29the season. So earning a target on roughly 30% of his routes. This guy is just simply different than all the other
37:36tight ends on this roster. He has proven that he can be a field stretcher. He is insanely athletic, the true epitome of a
37:43matchup nightmare. This is the guy to prioritize. I think that he sees a really nice role as soon as he makes his
37:49return and is deployed as basically a wide receiver alongside Pukanakua. It'll say that the Rams are in 12 or 13 personnel, but it is actually Terrence
37:58Ferguson who is basically playing as the wide receiver 2 behind Nua. If he is not rostered in your league, go stash him on
38:05your IR slot right now. The other tight end that I do think is worth a look is Chig Conquo. He steps up in the wake of
38:12the Terry McLaren injury. It is really tough to roster a fringe tight end one, a guy who's not necessarily a set it and
38:20forget it starter when they're going into their by-week. Still, if you've got the room, I think Okonquo is worth a look. He ends up playing a full-time
38:27role in this game. 41 routes on 47 dropbacks, and he draws seven targets.
38:32He's soaking up a bunch of those underneath in intermediate looks. And personally, I think that Chiggo Conquo is a really talented player when it
38:40comes to generating yards after the catch. I think that he can be a legitimate playmaker. If you pair that with consistent volume with Terry
38:47McLaren now out of the picture, I think that there can be something there for Chiggo Conquo just getting there on the
38:52back of volume and then having some sort of a ceiling because he can do some things with the ball in his hand. Again,
38:58wouldn't really be prioritizing him because he is heading into a buy. But keep his name in the back of your mind.
39:04If you've got the room, I would make the pickup. The other name here is Michael Mayer. He he pops in the box score this
39:09week. He goes for 16 PPR points. I think that the story is pretty straightforward week in and week out for Michael Mayer.
39:16He is going to run a bunch of routes because he is the Raiders tight end. The Raiders do not use Brock Bowers as a
39:22tight end. He is effectively a wide receiver. So with Brock Bowers playing wide receiver, there are snaps and routes open for Michael Mayer. Still,
39:29his week- toeek outlook in terms of his role in volume is incredibly volatile alongside guys like Bowowers Genty who is heavily involved in the receiving
39:37game and Trey Tucker who has popped here and there. You cannot set any realistic week-to-eek expectations for how Michael Mayer is going to factor in in terms of
39:46this target totem pole. He will pop in games where we expect the Raiders to pass a ton. I had him ranked as a fringe
39:53tight end one in this matchup against the Buffalo Bills knowing that the Raiders were probably going to drop back to pass a ton. You could say it's the
40:00same outlook for Mayor in week seven.
40:02The Rams offense has had its struggles.
40:04Now they're dealing with injuries to Devonte Adams. Still, you can reasonably expect the Raiders to rack up some pass volume in this spot against the Rams.
40:11So, could Mayor be viewed as a fringe starter, a potential tight end streamer this week? No doubt about it. But long-term moving forward, there's just
40:20so much volatility in terms of his week- toeek volume. I just don't think that this is someone that you can prioritize
40:26on the waiverwire. Still very firmly in the streaming conversation as opposed to the week- toeek starter. All right, to close things out here, we will quickly
40:35run through some of the drops of the week at running back. Marshon Lloyd, easy drop, tough run out for him last
40:42week. He gets dinged up early in the game. His role is scaled back because of it. He's not particularly effective either. Now that Josh Jacobs is making
40:50his return, that is an easy drop in relatively shallow leagues. Keaton Mitchell, I I think you can drop as well. I had talked about Keaton Mitchell
40:57saying how his role was improving. Still leaving some sort of a light on for this Chargers offense. Any optimism about the
41:04Chargers offense has been wiped away in the last two to three weeks now that he is heading into his by-week as well. An
41:11easy drop in my opinion. Jakori Kroski I think that you can reasonably drop in a shallow league. He had been relatively
41:17disappointing before that week five breakout where he goes for 14 PPR points. Now he is heading to IR. It's a groin injury if I'm not mistaken. Yep.
41:26Over on the right, a groin injury. So, if you're in a shallow league, knowing that Merritt is going to miss the next
41:31four weeks, I think that he is a relatively easy drop. Get someone in there who can impact your lineup moving forward. Emanuel Wilson, I I think you
41:39could also reasonably drop as well in a shallow league. We see his role start to take a hit at the hands of George Helani
41:46in week six. Now, we've got Jadarian Price eligible to return from IR relatively soon. We've got Zack Charbanet eligible to return from IR
41:54relatively soon. Emanuel Wilson, he was fun. He could fill in in your lineup while he was serving as the Seahawks primary ball carrier. Those times are
42:02done. Things are gonna get pretty ugly pretty quick. Looking at some of the trending drops at wide receiver, yeah, easy Darius Cooper. If you had tried to
42:11stash him and see what happened after he popped for a couple of big touchdowns, now with Tanner McKe all year long, the
42:17mirage that is Darius Cooper being a productive wide receiver in fantasy, that has come to an end here in week six. Not interested in him whatsoever.
42:27Courtland Sutton, we talked about the concerns with the Broncos offense. He has been straight up awful this year as well individually. I want nothing to do
42:35with Courtland Sutton if you're in a 10 team league. Easy drop. If you're in a 12 team league with a shallow bench,
42:40another easy drop as well. Brian Thomas Jr. just can't spin it in a positive manner anymore. Zero snaps for BTJ in
42:49the second half of week six. does not have a reception since week four.
42:54Dropable. Dropable. Maybe in a deeper league where you're not facing roster crunches with buys and injuries popping up, you can just hold out hope that he
43:03gets traded. The recent track record of success surrounding inseason trades at wide receiver has not been overwhelmingly positive. So maybe you
43:12can hold on to that while hoping for a trade. But if you need to make a move, add someone that you can get into your
43:17lineup right away. BTJ certainly a worthwhile drop. Dantavian Wixs talked about Darius Cooper being impacted by Tanner McKe. No, Jaylen Herz definitely
43:27can drop him as well. All right guys, that is going to do it for me here today. Hope you enjoyed. Hopefully it
43:33was helpful. A lot of fun wide receiver stashes. Not too much to be said about the running back position, but hopefully
43:39you can find your guy, get someone onto your bench. Hopefully they have a late season breakout. Once again, that'll be it for me here today. I will see you all
43:50next time.
