0:00Today we're breaking down the 10 biggest questions facing the 2026 college football season with a focus on yes it's happening guys in the year 2026 college
0:09football fantasy also getting some best bets getting some Big 10 SEC specific breakdowns all that and much much more.
0:14If you're a college football fan, you do not want to miss this because we now have the face the face everyone of
0:21college football fantasy himself, Yahoo's finest, Eric freaking Frozon.
0:25Truly one of my best friends in real life and one of the best analysts out there. Plenty of awards, we'll tell you
0:30that as well. So, Eric, first of all, congrats, man, on the new gig. You've again been pushing college football fantasy for so long. I was saying before
0:37the show, you know, told you in the past like, oh man, have you ever thought about getting to Dynasty? They made a
0:41little bit more stuff going on there.
0:43You said no. I'm college football fantasy through and through and it's worked out for you, my friend. Welcome.
0:48>> Well, I do feel like college fantasy football is downstream from Dynasty.
0:52Anything you do with college fantasy football only helps you. You want to do Devi Dynasty, any sort of format you play with, I feel like it helps. So, uh,
1:00that being said, doesn't help your relationships when you have a Sunday locked up every weekend in the fall and then you try to lock up Saturday. So, I
1:10get it. I understand everyone. and I won't fly too much propaganda upon you, but thank you very much for your kind
1:17words, Ian. Obviously, one of my best friends in the space, who will be picking me up at Columbus airport Thursday for the Fantasy Football Expo,
1:28which we will both be attending.
1:29There'll be copious whiffle ball played just like last time. I want to say uh I was you you hit a few bombs. Rebar
1:37Reeves was excellent, you know, as he always is. I can't wait to get out there and hang out with the boys and see
1:43everybody for a couple days and hang out in Canton.
1:46>> Not going to lie, I've been uh sacrificing the old softball whiffle ball swing to try to get good at golf,
1:50which isn't really working either. Uh Eric, so maybe I should consider going the other way with it. But regardless, going to be a fun weekend and going to
1:56be a fun show for sure. So, as Eric said, guys, again, never too early to get ahead on some of these prospects
2:01because soon enough it's going to be March again. You're going to be in those rookie drafts. So, why not learn a thing
2:06or two about them now? But I want to start off again with a look at college fantasy football, Eric, because again
2:11something you've been pushing for a while. I've gotten into a couple of these leagues, man. But as someone who again my entire life revolves around NFL
2:18on Sunday, I have struggled to kind of find always find that commitment on Saturday to again be that much next level DJ. But in your opinion, man, what
2:25just at its core makes college football fantasy so freaking awesome?
2:28>> Yeah. Well, don't sell yourself short.
2:30Okay, Ian, you do live in Columbus, which is the capital of Ohio State, and we did attend a game together. We were
2:39on the field for Ohio State versus Minnesota. Not a particularly competitive game >> early in the year, but we were out
2:47there. We were on the field for the entire game. You had your You had your I want to say probably maybe a 20 year old
2:53camera. You had you took a [laughter] took a step every once in a while, so we looked official while we're on the
2:58field. NBC. I don't work for NBC anymore, so they can't say anything about [laughter] about our Tom Foolery there at the horseshoe. But hey, big
3:06moment. So, I do know that you do have college allegiance despite the fact that I know you can't watch it during the
3:12season. That being said, with college football, >> what makes it different is I would say one the styles of offenses. You know, as
3:20you know, the NFL, it's called pro style for a reason because even though there's some variations, you're having the same
3:29basic level of play against professional defenses running similar style of offenses. And the disparity of play at the college level, as we know from week-
3:39toeek basis, as we saw personally against Minnesota, which was not even remotely competitive. One week you're playing Indiana, next week you're
3:48playing Minnesota. And it's a massive, massive difference. We get into the double digits and even into the triple touchdowns frequently, even in
3:58inconference opponents when you're dealing with the Oregon and the the Georgees and the Ohio States, etc., etc., the big dogs in each conference
4:07when they're playing the lower rung opponents are going to be waxing them.
4:10So that's something you don't experience the NFL as much with like I said the >> same level of play. Uh so those are
4:17definitely two factors I would say are very different. And three just the from fantasy from that perspective when you take out the all right I'm a fan of this
4:29team. I'm a Tennessee fan. I'm a Utah fan. I'm a Texas Tech fan. whatever team is your personal allegiance. When you
4:36can sort of strip that away and just embrace the entire power four landscape with 68 teams, which is more than double
4:42the 32 team NFL landscape. When you can just sit there and and embrace it, the games, there's no 4:00
4:52by week, you got a three games at 4:00, you got the one game on Sunday night.
4:59No, no, no. It's wallto-wall action all day long. Starts at 12:00 noon with the big noon kickoff on Fox.
5:08Goes all the way until Hawaii's done.
5:11It's the typical degenerate sort of cycle of college football [laughter] where you still have a shot because as we know Timmy Chang, college fantasy
5:22football icon for from Hawaii, June Jones's run and shoot system is still running the run and shoot. If you have Hawaii players, Michael Eado, the
5:32quarterback, PLI Ashlock, Trey Griffith, right? Audrey Harris, there's a lot of different very impactful fantasy players
5:41who can tilt the game that you have to wait until about 4:00 a.m. to see. So >> well and dude that's kind of been the
5:48one the first thing I think of is again like obviously the best teams Ohio State, Indiana, Miami all these juggernauts. Sure. But
5:56>> we look at the leaderboards at the end of the year and a lot of times the leading passers are from the Hawaii or
6:00the Houston or these teams where you wouldn't really expect. So like juggling man like are most traditional college football fantasy leagues are you
6:07literally going through every single D1 program or is it more so along the power four conferences or do you just kind of
6:13pick two conferences and go through that? Well, the beauty of it is with 138 FPS teams, you can really customize it
6:21however you really want it, >> I suppose you could say. So, if you want to do a full 138, you can do that at
6:28Yahoo because we're trying to make sure that we're appealing to the masses to bring them in. We only we focus on the
6:35power for landscape, but there are other providers out there that, you know, it sort of helps everybody downstream where if you decide, oh, we want to do a G6
6:42only, well, you can go and do that. But with uh with Yahoo, it's power four only. Keeps things a little more
6:47simplified.
6:48>> So they have you can have it. Of course, it's 68.
6:52>> The six conference.
6:54>> Get him out of here. [laughter] >> Get him out of here.
6:57>> The Midwest rivalries cropping up. Well, we have, you know, we'll get to Notre Dame later. We I because one of the
7:04questions at the end of this it it Okay.
7:06What my answer involves Notre Dame.
7:08You're going to enjoy it because it also involves Ohio State. So >> Okay. Fair enough. Fair enough. So again guys, got to remember some of the
7:14differences in the rules. I know the big thing for me is like when you watch this such an RPO heavy difference in college,
7:20but that's because the linemen are allowed to block like three or four yards downfield. NFL they are much much more strict about that. You can only go
7:26one yard downfield. You're going to be called for, you know, ineligible linemen basically working downfield.
7:34>> Every single interview, man, when they ask Ryan Day about like his biggest problem with college football, he always goes back to hashes. So another big
7:41difference there. They're just like the big time underdogs, bro. I remember week uh 14 or 15 this past year was like Ash
7:47and Jenty hadn't done anything in six or seven weeks. And oh my god, they're playing the Texans. One of the worst
7:52teams in the league with the Raiders.
7:53You're facing this juggernaut Texans defense. And guess what? Genty still goes for like 200 total yards and two touchdowns. So even again, one of the
8:00worst teams in the league facing one of the best defenses. Look, you guys know NFL, it's going to be close. Vegas
8:06Lions, the biggest underdog during any given week is maybe going to be two touchdowns. Like we're talking 48 point spreads in a lot of these college
8:13football games, man.
8:14>> Yeah. As as I sort of alluded to, you are especially with the Blueb Bloods, but you know, it's it's funny. Those
8:22games don't correlate the same way you would think to fantasy production at a high level. My personal preference is I want two big dogs
8:33slugging it out that have questionable defenses and awesome offenses because if you don't have that second team going with them, what you're seeing from the
8:43big team, the Indiana, Ohio State, Miami, all the teams that are the blueb bloodoods that are crushing teams, once they get up, you hit the second half,
8:54they take their foot off the throttle immediately. They start rotating out different guys and >> quietly those three teams I mentioned
9:03were bottom 10 in the 138 FBS universe in pace of play >> because the new playoff system is incentivizing teams that are going to be
9:15playing 16 games like Ohio State did two years ago. They played 15 games this year. Got a conference championship.
9:22Have a round two, three rounds in the playoff. Now they're looking at it as how do we just all right, we're in
9:29cruise control now. How do we get to the next game? And they're sitting on that ball like it's an egg in that second
9:35half. So I like having two fairly competitive teams that can go more than just those those quick boat races because the top players are out and
9:45you're on to the backups.
9:47>> And they changed that rule a couple years ago too with the kind of the having more of the running clock going
9:51which I know also has contributed to less plays overall. So, I know a lot of Columbus, Ohio Natives very frustrated at the pace of play when Ryan Day kept
9:58saying they were going to increase it.
10:00Weren't ready to do so obviously when it mattered to some of those big boy matchups in January. Maybe 2026 will be
10:06the year. But all right, man. Love all of it. But again, looking more so, right, if I'm entering a college football fantasy draft, typically again,
10:14we're letting quarterbacks slide in normal NFL fantasy. We want the workhorse running backs early. tight ends are someone where yeah if you are a
10:22Brock buyers or a Coulson lovelin we are going to be prioritizing them in the early rounds otherwise maybe going late are there just any big would you say
10:29overall stylistic differences in kind of the position value because again I know it's going to depend on if we're in a
10:35two conference setup or if we're playing with all 138 but just on the surface I would think maybe the tight ends are
10:41more valuable than ever because there actually are so many fewer tight ends in college football that are actually putting up big numbers. Yeah, tight ends
10:49is is a finicky position, you know what I mean? Because it's if you don't have some sort of way to offset the natural
10:56sort of depression in the position from what you're going to get from the high-end wide receivers, then they're not going to have the kind of
11:04impact that you'd like them to. Unless you get an Eli Sters, you get a Tyler Warren from a couple
11:14>> Fannon from 2010. My god, he must have broke that stuff, man.
11:19>> Like you'll have these big dogs and this year, you know, it's related to this year, uh, in the power four, you have a
11:26big three. It's a consensus. Lock them up. You got the best three tight ends.
11:29It's Jamari Johnson, Oregon. TZ Green for LSU, and Terrence Carter for Texas Tech. Like those three guys clearly the best. you're going to be able to nibble
11:41at the margins of position, but rather than getting the 600 yards, you know, seven, eight touchdowns out of them, you're looking at maybe 404, you know,
11:52uh, at at best you're going to be plucking around for a 505 and you're going to be chasing at that position.
11:59So, if you have a point and a half, two PPR to help juice that position, it really even enhances the Star Wars and
12:06the the Warren and the Fannins even more. And you see teams that in the big ball mania you had the Tyler Warren. If
12:14you had Tylo Warren with that underdog big ball mania two years ago you you were going to win. You know you won
12:21money is pretty much you could put any lineup out. So the the upper tier is is separates from the middle of the pack
12:31more than any other position. So that is completely correct. No argument there.
12:35>> Jamari Johnson man. Oregon just I mean for a while I felt like Notre Dame was kind of staking their claim to tight end
12:41you and they've still had some dogs come on I know Eli Ridan maybe had some issues that didn't maybe help him reach
12:46his full potential but Terren Ferguson Kenyan Sadi now Jamari Johnson do you think Jamari could be kind of the best of this more recent group?
12:53>> Uh I do you know well here's the thing that Kenyan Sadique >> he tested is like the freakiest freak of
13:00all tight ends in the history of mankind. So you I I do have to respect that. But if you look at the usage
13:08disparity between the two down the stretch last season when the games really mattered, Jamari Johnson was running the downfield seam routes. And
13:17if there's anything I like and I feel like translates, there's a couple things I look at for CFF production and tight
13:23ends. One, it's wide rate, you know, combined with slot rate, but specifically wide rate. Like if your OC is trusting you on the outside to be
13:31able to go one-on-one against a, you know, a boundary corner at, you know, at these sort of levels, the power four,
13:38and you're doing it 15% of the time, >> you're obviously going to have a correlation in the slot. Most of the
13:45time, you're going to be flexed out. And that's the type of guy I'm interested, at least from a college fantasy perspective, when projecting to the next
13:51level. Obviously, you want somebody who's going to be on the field as much as possible because you're not just going to be able to stick your tight end
13:57in the slot all the time. It's not going to you want that 90% 95% snap rate and to be a weapon in all phases. So, um the
14:06beauty of Johnson is he's in that 255 range. Terren Carter 237 listed at Tradez, you know, maybe in the low 240s,
14:15which still fine. You know, we're okay in the mid 240s. That's right where Kelsey is, that 245 range. but um having
14:22more full-sized uh frame, better blocker, and his work downfield that you didn't see Kenyan Sadi doing later in
14:34important games during down the stretch.
14:36Sadique was running the outlet routes.
14:38He was running the dump offs and the hitches and like the manufacturer touches. It was Johnson that was killing him downfield.
14:44>> Love seeing I can't wait to see how that translates this year. Here we have Dante Moore who's the QB1 right now of 2027
14:50entering the season.
14:52>> Yeah, that that was one of my takeaways with Sadique, too, were just when I was watching him, I was like, my god, how
14:56many screens have they thrown this dude?
14:58And I actually end up running the numbers and looking at tight ends last five years, drafted rounds one through three, what
15:05percentage of their career targets were screens? And at first, I was like, oh, this is could be bad because Sadi's at
15:0934%. That's the highest of any tight end in this range. But then I'm looking at the other guys over 20%. Tucker Craft,
15:15Tyler Warren, Harold Fannon, Elijah Royo, Brock Bowers, like just one dog after another. So, I hear you. I want that downfield production, too. But it's
15:23also a thing where it's like, hey, we're designing screens for this tight end.
15:26That dude must be pretty good to get that treatment in the first place.
15:29>> Total freak. I mean, absolutely has to be factored in. So, it's hard to just make a definitive state where it's like,
15:35"Oh, yeah, he's better than that that 10 >> athlete, you know, Sadique, who really is incredible." I had a chance to see
15:42him on the field twice and he is as advertised just looking at he's carved out of granite. He's he's everything.
15:49So, if anybody can be a star, I mean, that's the profile.
15:55>> It was hilarious, man. Just again being field level for the first time in my life. I mean, what a blessing. Thank you
16:00again for hooking uh hooking your boy up with that. But I'm a pretty big guy.
16:04Everyone's 162, you know, he's around 215 pounds. I was standing next to Davidson Ignosa who ended up being a second round corner and went to the
16:11Bills and this dude was every bit as big as me and obviously much much less body fat going on there. So these dudes
16:17really are built difference just again freaks among freaks out there especially at these blue blood programs. want to ask you about quarterbacks in college
16:24football fantasy because last year obviously you know we had Fernando Mendoza and Julian Seai both being invited to the Heisman uh you know
16:31finalist and then Mendoza obviously winning it having just such a storybook season but Mendoza and Seai were the best passers of the football just
16:38statistically you know efficiency wise last year were they even that great in college football fantasy though or is it a situation where we just really have to
16:45target more of the dual threat options?
16:47Well, in college fantasy, when it comes to the Yahoo scoring system, we do four point passing touchdowns and 0.04 points per passing yard. So, typically,
16:59I mean, if you're going to go, you can customize it, of course, once these go and get rolling, but in the standard
17:03league, which most people play, that four-point passing touchdowns as opposed to six-point passing touchdowns really changes the entire quarterback landscape. And it makes those
17:12quarterbacks who don't have a running element to them increasingly more marginalized. And you know, yeah, I I
17:20took a look um and I just wrote a column um you know, on the quarterback position for Yahoo where I took a a
17:30really deep dive look into it and it basically came down on the fact where like I I put them into three different brackets. quarterbacks
17:38who had less than than 200 yards rushing, quarterbacks who had 200 to 400 and then 400 plus, all P4 quarterbacks
17:46who had drop backs of 200 plus. And it was incredibly obvious. It was a fivepoint differential from 17 and a half, which is the average, to the guys
17:57who ran for 400 plus yards, it was 22 point like 78 is what they're averaging as opposed to the average of 17. And
18:04that doesn't even get into when you're you're less than 200. There was only out of like the 40, there was 110
18:12quarterbacks who qualified under that statement. And of the 40 who um you know
18:19fit that threshold of the the under actually hit the threshold of 20 plus points per game. Only four of them had
18:31under 200 rushing yards. And that's like the Darien Mensahes of the world, you know what I mean? And there like the
18:39prototypical best of the best. Sawyer Robertson for Baylor was know he was the the top >> non dual threat quarterback because he
18:48they threw the ball 42 times a game. So you need to be in true air raid level of passes in order to even crack that
18:57acumen. talking about 40 only four of them happen under it and then the rest of them are pretty much all coming from
19:03the 200 400 and 400 plus range. So um it's really a massive disparity knocks down the the productivity of a saying
19:12despite the fact that >> he's going to have two to four touchdown passes per game but that's what you know that's only if two touchdown passes
19:19that's eight you know three that's 12.
19:22It doesn't work without a rushing component. You have to focus on somebody who can at least break the pocket a little bit when you're looking for
19:30fantasy purposes.
19:31>> And I feel like personally, I'm sure there's going to be a lot of people playing college football fantasy for their first time this year. Awesome. Get
19:38into it. I would think though they're going to see Oh, I know Julian's saying I know these quarterbacks at these certain schools and they're probably
19:45going to be chasing up the ranks when what you're describing to me, man, sure sounds like if there was a position to
19:49really wait around on, it's probably quarterback.
19:52>> Yeah, I totally agree. And what you're going to see in terms of strategy what before you get into these CFF drafts and
19:58this I'm seeing it it's it's just across the industry and it's uniform is the true hero RB strategy is alive. It is
20:07kicking. It is thriving.
20:09>> Okay.
20:09>> Get on board or or you're going to be left behind. You need to be prioritizing running backs in the first four maybe
20:15five rounds of your draft. I would say you want to have four in your first six rounds without a doubt. That's robust
20:23RV, bro. That's not hero RV.
20:25>> That's That is You're right. That is robust RB.
20:28>> That's Avenger. That's Avenger RV right there.
20:32>> It is bloodfeud RB. Yes, you are going with battle axes and war clubs and just bludgeoning your way through it because
20:41hey, you can have four of them. You can start four of them a week and you want to make sure of the 68, you know, back
20:48fields, you're going to have a lot of splits. those high volume projectable rushers with good offensive lines that play for alpha dog teams. They're going
20:57to be able to impose their will like we talked about that second half. They're going to be leaning on teams that second
21:02half. there's real value there and you don't want to be left behind because then you can be just searching through the back end of the Purdus and the
21:10Kansas's, you know, and and >> okay, >> that you don't want to be stuck rostering Michigan State's, you know, running back as an RB2 when they're
21:19going to be getting or or they're just going to be getting assaulted on a weekly basis and a brutally tough Big
21:2610. So, you got to know your audience.
21:28Yeah. You're you're saying overall it's a lot easier to make up points in the mid to late rounds at wide receiver than
21:34running back.
21:35>> Definitely. And this is this is a big I would say, you know, disparity between NFL and um and college because and I I for time
21:45memorial since I've been playing NFL, the the wide receivers once established like they're there for a few years. You like, "All right, I know what I'm
21:53getting out of these guys. I know that this is it and I got them. This guy's awesome. He's got this QB and there's
21:59like there's continuity in passing games, right? That just once a team has a QB, the QB is going to be around for a
22:06while. Once they find one, they get a wide receiver one, they stick around. So like this projectability there. In college, guys are transferring every
22:14year. They're graduating. There's that natural turnover. The offensive line is coming, going, getting better, getting worse. There's all types of turnover
22:23every year to where it's almost like it's a new roster you're getting used to. So, because of that disparity, wide
22:31receiver is by far the toughest position to project from preseason rankings to what the end of season scoring ends up being because of the
22:42turnover you see in wide receiver rooms.
22:44You can guess we think this guy who's coming in is going to be the top guy. I think Danny Scadero is going to get all
22:50the targets in Colorado for a bad team, but it could be Joseph Williams. I don't know.
22:56>> Great stuff, my friends. So, again, if you guys are trying to walk into a college fantasy draft this year, you
23:01absolutely should and make sure you do it over on Yahoo. Not even sure where else you really should be doing it, but
23:05again, heavy heavy heavy running back early. If you can get a game changer tight end, awesome. Otherwise, maybe a position you're going to be waiting at
23:13like quarterback that we definitely want to do. Prioritize those rushing quarterbacks and wide receivers are the spot unlike an NFL fantasy that we can't
23:20wait and still have some hopes of getting them down the stretch. So, love all that. That's regular college football fantasy. You are also Eric
23:27though in what's called campus to Canton Dynasty Leagues where you are drafting these dudes when they're starting their career on campus and as the name implies
23:37you are going all the way until they are hopefully finishing their career in Canton after having a luxurious professional year getting in the Hall of
23:43Fame. C2C Dynasty Leagues. [laughter] H how sick are you? Has your family just abandoned you at this point, man? Like my god, this is dedication right here.
23:53>> Yeah, you you have to tread lightly with all the leagues you can do in the college adjacent landscape and make sure
23:59like all right, Debbie, C2C, CFF, absolutely I have to temper them. But I do four C2C leagues and I'm frankly there two of
24:08them are drafting right now and uh I'm obviously kneedeepen in this freshman class. So it's a good time to ask. But
24:16the the thing uh the difference between Dynasty Devi and Campus Canton leagues is Campus Canton you have a roster of college players
24:26that go to your NFL roster similar to Debbie. So Debbie, you have five, 10, however it is. You have them, they sit
24:36on that those five to 10 players.
24:39They're just their dedicated list. You add new ones every year and then they go up. With Campus Canton, you have a 45
24:47plus man roster that you are actually playing out college fantasy games with.
24:55And once they graduate and move on and go to the NFL, then they go to your roster and port immediately over to your
25:04NFL roster.
25:06>> So, you're simultaneously playing NFL fantasy and college fantasy games.
25:10>> Yes, exactly. You're playing two seasons simultaneously at once. And you have a dedicated winner for the college side, a dedicated winner for the NFL side.
25:20Personally, I always draft for the NFL side because like I can get my CFF picks elsewhere, you know, like I know I can
25:28win those leagues. I'll do those, but like I want to get the best prospects.
25:31So, I'm I'm typically always hawking the the my favorite freshman and and potential guys on the P4 side anyways when it comes to my campus camp leagues.
25:42>> Absolutely sick. Sounds like a nightmare to manage, but I always support anyone crazy enough to actually get into this.
25:49It's that honestly though it's not the craziest form of fantasy I've ever heard of. Man, I actually I went to my local
25:53bank to do some like adult stuff and the dude happened to like love fantasy. So we ended up talking about that instead
25:59of you know my finances for about an hour story in my life there. This dude was in like it was a World of Warcraft
26:05mixed with fantasy football league. I still barely freaking understand what this dude was talking about but my god did he have my attention going on there.
26:12So campus of canon a little bit more uh realistic. Uh definitely, you know, no pun intended there with what you can get
26:19going. Might have to uh badge you though, Eric. I don't know. I'm I'm talking down on it, but might have to uh
26:24see if I can crack one of those. I don't know.
26:25>> You should You should absolutely do that. Let me see. As soon as as soon as Yahoo expands to the C2C realm, I'll
26:32I'll make sure to get you.
26:34>> Want to get your thoughts here on some Big 10 SEC bowl calls and things like that. But last thing again, kind of just
26:39bigger picture college football fantasy.
26:41For me, the biggest issue, but also perhaps the big biggest advantage would be the the lack of official injury reporting. You don't have to do what the
26:48NFL does, which is again every single practice list, what they're dealing with. So, if they're limited, not practicing full practice, official
26:55designations. It really does seem to be the wild wild west for college football fantasy. So, how do you even go about
27:00like keeping track of who is in and out of any given game? And also on the side of that, the follow-up question would be
27:07how do you take advantage of that in the prop market?
27:10>> Yeah. Well, the Phantom DNPs are just an absolute pox on the college fantasy football marketplace. And to sort of combat it, what we've done just pretty
27:21much across the board is implemented, and this is something that Sleeper did last year, which they borrowed. This is this is a college fantasy invention.
27:29Congratulations, guys. is the emergency sub because >> it happens all the it happened more previous years and I'll get to that but
27:40it happens all the time which is guys just don't play all the time and you have no idea no no he's out there he's
27:48in pads he's running around and he doesn't play and it happens it's maddening and it tilts the balances of games so you have to have that you're
27:57allowed before any game start to list 1 2 3 4 five, six, seven, eight. List as many as you want, >> okay?
28:02>> In order and then you can automatically go in, but it has to be before any game start or it tilts everything, you know.
28:08So, that's um that's how we go about that whole process. And it it it it's it does a it does a lot because I mean,
28:16I've been burned a million times with it and it's the worst feeling in the world.
28:19It's just what did I do? I ain't doing anything wrong. I didn't know. So, >> yeah. And because like NFL it's it's
28:24annoying, but you do have 90 minutes before kickoff. So, I feel like totally >> it's probably one or two players you
28:30already know they're questionable.
28:31>> So, I was like, do you really need the emergency stuff? College football fantasy, man. You said it like there was
28:35three game stretches last year towards the end of the year where Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate just weren't playing.
28:40But to your point, you'd still see you just see him standing on the sideline when the game started and have no idea.
28:44So, okay, Yahoo will have the emergency subs to help rectify those issues.
28:49>> I have certainly made sure that that is part of it and advised them. So, I I hope so. I believe it will.
28:55>> Awesome. Awesome. Well, Eric, I know in addition to your college football fantasy stuff, you actually do very very well with the prop hits. I know at some
29:03point, man, you were hitting like 70%. I don't want to put words in your mouth there.
29:07>> Dark Ages. Yeah. Right. Right. When it started, well, they didn't they it was all NFL that they put their best guys
29:12NFL. There was no AI. And in 2019, 2020, 2021, I was up there around the the 70% mark, but admittedly, that's down in the
29:2063.3 I think we're at last year. So, we're down. Hey, just want to be accurate. Just want to be accurate. But
29:28yeah, seven years running strong, able to profit, but it's tough to get a lot down. They don't The books don't like
29:34taking college football prop bets, guys.
29:37We beat them up pretty good on those bets. So, we get we get limited rather quick once they they sniff out our our
29:44little uh you know, act that we have.
29:46So, Tread, >> I know you I know you had some awesome uh kind of Saturday morning pregame stuff going on, giving out some of those
29:52top props. Make sure you guys are following Eric over at CFro over on the old Twitter sphere. Youth, Thor Nestrom, bunch of again really sharp guys
30:00breaking it down the slate. But is that kind of just when you're doing those props like are the is the injury
30:05verification one of the bigger parts that you're trying to find an edge with?
30:09Uh, I would say performance injury, uh, circumstance, you know, where it's it's, you know, you just get into, all right, well, this team doesn't exactly
30:20do this, you know, this this team stops this, this team doesn't, you know, and and just going with what the relative
30:27strengths of different defenses are and things like that. So, um, there's definitely a stew that goes in with, but injuries are certainly massive huge part
30:36of it. Um, but I'll tell you my favorite, if I had to pick one thing that was like, what is the most
30:43consistent money maker year-over-year and it and it definitely permeated into last year is quarterback, unsettled
30:52quarterback situations where either poor performance, injury, but most of the time it's poor performance and you just notice it's like this guy just can't
31:02handle the gig and what cannot go on forever won't. And unlike the NFL where there's like, "All right, we're playing this guy all this money." It's like,
31:10"All right, well, next guy up. We have five of them that are four stars."
31:15They're like, "There's you got a whole room full of guys. We're just dying to get a shot." It's like, well, we're
31:21getting killed. There's no reason to keep this guy in. And once they start playing the QB carousel and like that second guy has a good showing, even if
31:30it's just for two drives, the end of the game and a blowout, >> you see that guy have two good drives,
31:35get the clock ticking cuz it's just a matter of when. And then you just it's just parsing that out. So I
31:44attack those >> with with a fervor and vigor that that eclipses ancient Celtic warriors.
31:52>> [laughter] >> I love it, bro. I remember one of the things uh recently had a cool video go up with my guy Billy Collins breaking
31:58down some of the really cool tools that Oz Jam has to offer. And one of the points that Billy made was just, you
32:03know, look, NFL guys is the biggest money maker out there. Everyone's watching it. But we have an entire week of these lines going up and down,
32:10everyone figuring out what's going on.
32:12Again, they're excited. It's non-stop college football action on Saturday, then even earlier in the week with, you know, some of the maction other stuff
32:18going on. So, if you guys did want to again try to find some cool tools to help cut through that noise and find
32:22those edges, really good stuff at Odd Gym that can again hopefully not get you cut off in the prop market. But hey, you
32:28got to be making some money, Eric, to get cut off in the first place. So, >> yeah, it's a wonderful problem to have,
32:33isn't it? You know, we're making too much money and they they know I'm too sharp to do it, but that's uh it happens
32:39all too often. So, get ready.
32:41>> Love it, man. Again, Eric Fronton CFro.
32:46Find out all his awesome stuff. Yahoo.
32:47Let's talk some actual ball now. Okay, Big 10, the premier conference in college football. And I'm not even trying to be a homer here. All right,
32:55SEC fans, if you guys want to take that crown back, go ahead and win some natty championships. Don't freaking leave the
33:00party like I'm hearing some rumors about, you know, disfranchising from the SC from the NCA, yada yada yada. We'll talk about SEC in a second. Big 10
33:08though, Eric, who is winning this year and who's the most disappointing team?
33:12>> Who is winning? I can't help it. I I I mean, we've seen Indiana and Ohio State do it year after year. I mean, we know
33:20we know that they're the big dogs and they're all they're ready to go. I want to see a world where Oregon finally
33:26takes one, you know? I want to see that happen. Dante, their their entire fleet of receivers is just their entire I
33:35can't believe they have so many guys.
33:36You got Jamari as we talked about. You have De'ar Hill and Jordan Davidson.
33:40Dude, get ready for De'ar Hill. He's going to be a household name.
33:44>> Yeah.
33:44>> You want You want a C2C guy? Dear Hill, I can't believe the power. He's listed at 5'11 175.
33:50>> Look, he's a sprinter.
33:54Amazing capital S speed. And because he's moving at a different sort of speed than everybody else and has just more fast twitch,
34:04>> he can lay a lick on converging defenders that just you don't expect to see from a guy his size. I mean, he's
34:12got it all. So, I I'm I'm a believer. I think Oregon has this the tools and has the roster to be able to get it done.
34:20And on the the other side, u I mean, there there's a lot to like that they're putting off. So, I I will go with them
34:27as uh as a sort of, you know, I like coming out left field. I like not just taking the traditional one. Ian, I'm
34:33sorry. I don't want you I don't want to make you mad at me, but if I had to be a team that I that is expected to ascend,
34:39I think will disappoint a little bit. I don't think Michigan >> does it this year. So there I'm throwing you a bone there. Okay. Ohio State.
34:48>> All right. All right. So, you know, hear me out. Hear me out. But uh I don't think Michigan is ready to ascend to
34:56playoff level in year one of Whittingham and Beck. You hear the reports about Underwood coming out of spring where like you could barely compete complete a
35:05forward pass. You hear that they came in and were like, "What was the coaching staff doing to teach this kid the the
35:12finer points of quarterback play?" And they've had to sort of like break him down in the studs. While he's a super
35:18athlete and like for college fantasy purposes, you have to respect his legs and they did a lot of RPO stuff with him
35:25because they kind of had to. He wasn't very he wasn't accurate at all. So even though the the tools might be there and
35:32like he's he's raw. I I feel like this is going to be another year process of bringing him along and getting him a
35:39culture of what's happening. Um I like Marsh and what have you and they've got obviously a great set of running backs
35:44with Marshall and Savon hitter.
35:46>> Like Savon hitter get ready. Him and Crowwell for Alabama for running backs.
35:51They're going to be household names like sooner rather than later. So, it's not that I I don't like Michigan per se, but
35:58the changing of staffs and the schedule is brutal. They got the number two ranked toughest schedule in the country.
36:04They play >> Oklahoma in the non-con. Have fun, you know, with that at Ohio State at Oregon.
36:12They draw Indiana, play all three of the other big dogs in the team. And Iowa, who might have the best defense in the
36:20entire conference. Like, you never want to deal with their defense. So, I just feel like you you've got five brutal games on that schedule that is just
36:30going to chew up Michigan. I don't think they're ready to h handle it just yet.
36:34>> And even putting my obvious bias aside, I think Kyle Whittingham very very good hire, especially considering the circumstances that the, you know, entire
36:41really college has been >> and over the past couple years. I did not have in my bingo card this off seasonason former incredible safety Eric
36:49Wed so publicly criticizing Bryce Underwood and everything going on there.
36:52apparently was visiting practices with his kid making his way through everything. But yeah, man, could be an issue. I will just give and I've tried
36:59to do this too with, you know, people criticizing Caleb Williams and CJ Shout at the next level. There is something, man, to the highly touted young
37:08quarterback who's being thrust into action immediately versus the Bo Knicks, versus the Jaden Daniels guys who got 50 stars under the belt. It's hard, man.
37:16like Bryce Underwood. It's I'm happy that for his sake and for these freshman sakes like I am happy that we've kind of
37:22I believe correct me if I'm wrong seen the last of these like seventh eighth year players that you know they got the
37:28co uh register and they got all this. I feel like we're getting back to a point where college football should mostly be
37:34be being played again between 18 and 22 year old year olds. Is that a fair assumption?
37:38>> You get five years now. Doesn't matter if you're injured. Doesn't matter if you're red shirt. Doesn't matter what you do. You get five years ice cold. So
37:47you can now we actually cuz that really was an issue >> for so it was awful trying to figure out who's what. Like especially for CFF
37:56dynasty purposes like forget about it. I have no idea from some of these G6 guys from year to year. How do we know?
38:02They're not going to the NFL. We don't even hear about them. And I'm an NFL guy when it comes to the draft. So yeah,
38:07it's it was Oh my god. Don't get me going. With uh Oregon though, they invaded another, you know, Big 10 program. Minnesota, they got Ky Parish,
38:16another kind of safety who could end up being in that first round consideration.
38:19Obviously got Dylan Theenan the year before. So, they're doing their thing, man. Again, you mentioned just the deep wide receiver room. I believe they also
38:25have Evan Stewart come back. Did some bad bad things for my guy Denzel Burke uh in Austin, you know, a couple years
38:32ago there. So, obviously, it's a team that just they haven't been able to win the big one, man. But then you look at
38:37their losses and let's see, they lost to Indiana twice last year. They lost to literally just Ohio State the year before and then Washington twice. So
38:44they've lost to the last two national champions, a Washington team that lost in national champions to Michigan. And that's freaking it. Dan Landing, I don't
38:53like him because he's not my favorite team's head coach, but if he was my favorite team's head coach, I would freaking love this guy. So, you do think
38:59this is a get over the hump year potentially, not just in the Big 10, though, but also on a national scale?
39:04>> I do think it could be. I I I think that we're there. I mean, cuz hey, in case we haven't, as you dutifully pointed out,
39:11the conference of champions is the Big 10, right?
39:15>> Amen.
39:15>> The last three champions coming from the I mean, come on now. You know, so Indiana, Ohio State, Michigan, here we
39:22are. It's a new era now that the SEC can't be dropping bags off. Everybody gets to drop their bags off now, Nick
39:30Sab. So, yeah, everybody gets to have fun. Everybody gets to play. And now with a level playing field, look, Big 10's playing. I, as you know, I was with
39:40NBC for seven years. I went, I was going to all the Big 10 games. So, I couldn't help when I was trying to go to the SEC.
39:47They were slamming doors in my face.
39:48They weren't letting me >> LSU wasn't playing games. Georgia wasn't letting me play any reindeer games, I'll tell you. So, prop props to Auburn.
39:58Auburn was cool. Tennessee was cool. But hey, >> War Eagle >> after after dealing with a little bit of elitism down south, I couldn't help I
40:05can't help it having a little Big 10 bias. So yeah, I do think very much so the Big 10 is a Kingmaker conference and
40:12that Oregon has 100% legitimate national title aspirations. I back it.
40:18>> Oregon right now plus 260 to win the Big 10 over on DraftKings Sportsbook.
40:22Indiana plus 250, Ohio State plus 180 at the top of things. So is this going to be a thing now, Eric? I keep hearing
40:30about all these freaking, you know, just alumni from Indiana that are billionaires. I had no idea even went there. They're pumping money into this
40:36school. They're getting the chance they want.
40:38>> They're getting five-star wide receivers over Ohio State. Some dude in the class of 2027. Like Kurt Signetti, he's here to stay. That's the thing, though,
40:47>> bro. Some dude is Nick Marsh. Okay, Nick Marsh is my number two wide receiver from the 2027 NFL draft class behind
40:57only our Lord and Savior himself, the great Jeremiah Smith, Julio Jones 2.0.
41:03>> All right, that's what it takes. A generational No, no. A generational wide receiver. Not He's not Marvin Harrison. No, no, no. He is Julio Jones
41:122.0. Jeremiah Smith. That's what it takes for me to like somebody more than Nick Marsh does it all. Does does the
41:19Drake London throw your face in the ground when you're singled up on just a quick hit? He'll do that. Can blow you
41:25away down the like they're scared.
41:28>> Quarterbacks are scared of him. He he beat up on ponds pretty good when he was at Michigan State and he had the least
41:35accurate quarterback.
41:37Literally had the lowest on target rate of any quarterback in the entire power four. Aiden Childs throwing him the ball. Nick Marsh. He still lit up
41:45D'Angelo Ponds. Okay. who is everybody's darling. That's why he's on Indiana because I bet you signetti went right up to me after that game was like, "Bro,
41:53you talking to me [laughter] next year, you do D'Angelo like that, I want you."
41:58And I'm telling you, he wins off the break. Only thing I can probably give as a little ding on Marsh is just like he's
42:05a little sluggish when in his get off, you know, to his release, a little slow off the line, which can be I mean, talk
42:10about picking nits, but I'm telling you, he can do everything else. And he is my wide receiver to the 2027 class. Yeah, I
42:16think Indiana definitely sticks around.
42:19Definitely. And they got a great line again, too. They got Carter Smith over there at left tackle. Like, you know, Ohio State, Oregon turning over their
42:27line. Like, this their line is still intact. They will still be a factor. I absolutely believe in it.
42:34>> Yeah. I'm trying to pull it up right now. I remember uh when I was kind of going through again this last class of
42:39uh college football wide receivers. So, one of the things I just like to see is, you know, how often are they able to
42:43break tackles? And just over the years, again, one of the red flags, one of the only red flags of Marvin Harrison Jr.
42:48that you could nitpick coming out of college at least was the fact he was not breaking a lot of tackles and just, you
42:53know, the neighbors of the world, the Luther Burton of the world. We have seen them stand out. Only guy with more
42:59missed tackles, forced on receptions last year among power four wide receivers than Nick Mars was Malachi Tony. Obviously very, very special at
43:06Miami. The fact he was doing 18 >> 18 years old, man. Incredible. 28. Nick Marsh.
43:12>> 58% broken tackle rate. Tony did it on like a 100 receptions.
43:17>> He had it been Marsh did it on what, like 54 [laughter] or something like that. Like he had a 58% broken tackle
43:24rate. That's ridiculous.
43:27>> It is insane. It is insane. So >> humming. Get ready.
43:30>> Indiana's not going anywhere. New era in Penn State. The Penn State Cyclones.
43:34Eric.
43:36Cyclones. Look at you.
43:38>> The Mles, right, dude. Their schedule is unreal. Penn State. Unreal. Like they're they're underrated. Rocco Beck. Fun fact for you. Yeah, I know you like fun fact.
43:49Anthony Beck's son for all you NFLers out there. I know you love those thing.
43:54I know you love those little connections, right?
43:56>> His name Rocco.
43:58>> Oh. Oh, Roco Beck. Hey.
44:02Yeah. So our boy Rocco, [laughter] yeah, Rocco Beck led all power four quarterbacks last year in plus throw rate. 24%
44:13of his passes plus throws one out of every four, was outrageously good. And he's going over to Penn State where yeah, I mean, there was a mass exodus
44:21that followed Franklin out. And I'm I'm very bullish on Virginia Tech because of that. But look, there's enough that's going over there from Iowa State where
44:30Rockco Beck and that schedule, they play the 53rd ranked schedule in the country.
44:34They're a Big 10 team. Marshall, Temple, Buffalo, uhoh, don't don't get too scared of the noncon, but they still got
44:44Northwestern, Purdue, Minnesota, Ruckers, Maryland. Like, the only real dead spots you have in the whole schedule at Michigan and at Washington.
44:54Those are their two toughest Big 10 games, >> bro.
44:57>> Dude, >> by default, they're going to win games and put up points. Like, Roco Beck is going undrafted in some drafts. I've
45:04been taking him the 30th round of my best ball series, my champion series.
45:08Shout out to the boys. Uh, been taking him in the 30th round anywhere I can get him. What an amazing deal.
45:16>> Penn State plus 425 right now to make the college football playoff. I don't look at him as like a threat. I'm not
45:21sure if, you know, your opinion is different, but that schedule, bro, they should be favored to win at least 10 of
45:26those games. That probably gets you in.
45:28>> I feel like if I'm looking at at Penn State, you got to look at the regular season wins. Like that's really that's
45:36where we're going. Eight and a half over eight and a half to to give you a benchmark of how the market feels
45:41>> is minus 166.
45:44>> So they're expecting market's expecting a nine- win season here out of this.
45:50It's pretty good. Nine and three in year one out of Campbell. That ain't bad. And it's all really, it's all due to the
45:56schedule. They just don't have any big dogs on.
45:59>> Yeah.
45:59>> Toughest team they play, you know, Michigan and USC. Like, all right, fine.
46:03Washington >> road trip to Washington. Not easy to win over there. I get it. But yeah, that is crazy how they just managed to
46:08>> sail your way in sailgate your win to Husky Stadium. Do you know that it's right on the water? I have actually
46:15sailgated into Husky Stadium in 2023 during the Michael Pendix era when they played Arizona State. [laughter] Yeah.
46:23Yeah. It was it was a enthralling experience. You might imagine when you tailgate at Washington, >> it's like you've seen the movie Days and
46:31Confused from the '9s, right? Slow ride.
46:33Take it easy. You know, you you know what's going on. The tower party and Daz and Confused. That is exactly what
46:40tailgating looks like at Washington at Husky Stadium. It's a total freefor-all with just trees. You just you just park anywhere. There's no spaces. There's
46:49literally no spaces. You just you just find a patch of grass near a tree and you just park there and you just throw
46:55down. It's chaos. It's great. Highly recommend.
46:58>> Party at the underrated >> party at the Moon Tower. Party Moonw Washington University.
47:04>> I'm talking about guys. I'm serious. You want that >> Udub. That's a weird situation, man.
47:09What's their their quarterback fast as hell, man? you know, had his issues, but he wanted to transfer and then he just
47:15came back. I guess it's college football for you in the year 2026.
47:18>> Yeah, they played Shane McMahon's music when he came in. Here comes the money.
47:23>> Yeah, he tried. I mean, hey, everybody's trying to go out and get themselves more money. You know, everybody's trying to
47:27do it, but they're starting to They leaned on him. They had some paperwork where it was just like, "Dude, okay, >> okay, you want to do this? Like, we have
47:35this is >> some paperwork." And they threw it on him and he was like, "I'll come back."
47:41Demon Williams shout out. Fun watch for sure. We'll see what Udub's got this year. Let's talk the SEC. All right. All
47:48Big 10 SEC jokes aside, of course, we all love watching SEC football and they have over the last 25 years. You want to
47:55roll back the clock? Certainly been the premier conference in all of college football. Who's winning it this year, Eric?
48:01>> Who is winning the SEC? I'm going to go with a team that I think is a phenomenal deal. Just an incredible deal at current
48:12market value. You may know them as the Alabama Crimson Tide. Immortalized by Steelely Dan and Deacon Blues.
48:23I think that it's time. It's year three of Kaylin Dbor. Their defense like people, you got to remember, like I know
48:31Dbor, you're never talking about the defense that he has there, but man, I'm telling you, I I I think they're as
48:37good. They're going to be as good as any defense country. have three potential all-Americans in their secondary with Saab, Bray Hubard, Zabian Brown. These
48:45guys are all unreal. Jon Pierre comes back and is a a elite prospect on the edge. Like they're they'll they lose a
48:54little bit, but like they don't lose anybody more than a fourth round draft choice. Alabama didn't lose anybody more than a fourth round draft choice. Fine.
49:00Overton >> scary.
49:02>> Adios LT Overton fine. Like Pierce Bet, they're not going to have any problems.
49:07They're bringing in more talent, I think they're going to be in great shape. Um, I think that bringing in Kein Russell,
49:17uh, having him in year two, I think he's he'll be better, maybe not right away, like they'll be able to do more with him
49:24than they were able to do with, um, Tai Simpson from an RPO >> standpoint because he's an incredible athlete and he's a for he's a number one
49:34prospect in the country coming out of high school. I had the opportunity to talk to his uh high his quarterback coach during the Elite 11. I got a
49:43chance to watch him up close and personal, interview him, and I believe he's smart, too. That's the other thing.
49:49He's sharp. He's one of the smartest kids. Like I I his cre coach was ausive when he went through it and I would need
49:57to get into specifics, but like I believe he's a total package and I think he's going to be able to take over after
50:02having an apprenticeship year and be effective right out of the gate. From a betting perspective, their overund is eight and a half wins and it's even
50:12money to go over that. I think that's h I mean nine wins is hap with this defense to complement an offense that
50:22they have hopefully Ryan Williams wakes up. You got Xavier Crowwell who is an NFL running back coming in out of high.
50:30I mean they always you always hear about their No, no, no. Xavier Crowwell is different. He is immediately a top 10
50:37like Debbie prospect right out of the gate is Evia Crowwell. Oh, right out of the gate for running backs. a top 10
50:43Debbie running back. Right now, him and Hitter are elite elite and in a different class. And those type of guys are born. They're not made. So, they're
50:52gonna be able to I think they're going to be I think they're a nice dark sleeper team to win the SEC. That is
51:02everyone's saying Texas or Georgia. Oh, I want to believe in year three of the Boore. Good money. Good >> plus 260. Georgia the current favorites
51:12to win the SEC. Texas plus 310 and then tied for third at plus 850. Some steep odds. Texas A&M and Alabama.
51:18>> That's what I'm saying.
51:20>> You know, plus 850. I want to board. I want to give you some spicy. You know, you're going to be picking me up at the
51:27airport in a couple days.
51:29>> It was a rough Florida State opener last year. Ty Simpson for the next six, seven weeks. Was playing fantastic football.
51:37>> Got the back injury, got a couple other injuries, fell off down the stretch. I know it happened. All right. But Kirby
51:42Smart, I know he got the SEC title win.
51:44Still obviously has a ways to go to get that win loss record against Bama back to 500 there. If we This is like the
51:51first time in recent memory, bro, that we've had a chance to get Bama going as dogs. I like the call a lot. You
51:56mentioned Ryan Williams though. Ryan Coleman Williams now I believe he added the hyphen in last year. For those that remember, I'm sure you remember this
52:02play even if you're not a big college football fan. Two years ago against Georgia just made the play of the season, catching it late, spinning down
52:08the sidelines. He was on the cover of NCA football alongside Jeremiah Smith and it just didn't go right for him last
52:15year. They end up running the offense mostly through Jeremy Bernard. Lot a lot of drops for Ryan Williams. Do you consider him to still be a first round
52:22prospect or is it one of those kind of freshman year bangs and unfortunately he's just not the same?
52:27>> I think he's on the cusp. I think he could still work his way into first round consideration. Sure. I mean he the
52:34athleticism is there. He's very fluid, very smooth, >> but man, the catch technique. I was talking with uh you know Harmon about this, Matt Harmon
52:45of course, Yahoo fellow employee >> where there's another wide receiver uh Bryant Wesco for Clemson who is pretty pretty solidly in first round range is
52:56where he's being considered and being mocked. Uh he is a speed demon like Deshawn speed >> you know like he is
53:05>> ejax baby >> fast fast fast fast but ball tracking and the hands and like the the physicality getting bumped off the
53:13routes it's like there's these things you just look at and Harmon is a guy who when I brought up like he's not worried
53:19about the hands as much he feels like that can be taught if you have like the overall profile and you've proven you can do it
53:27like you can you can get through some of those lapses and and work your way through them. I think that I tend to
53:33agree with Williams's his traits, >> they're enough to get through and if he if he has a good season this year, he'll
53:41be he'll be all will be forgotten and he'll be good to go. But he's got to do it. He's got to show that he can make
53:46some some highle catches like he did as a freshman.
53:49>> Let all power receivers with 10 drop passes last year. So again, going to be one of those Casey Conception offseason
53:56storylines. I'm sure that we had to deal with. I tend to again agree with Math though that if you're in a position to
54:01drop passes in the first place, probably get an open, you're earning the targets.
54:04It is something that you would like to see rectified in the future. So, Alabama, everyone the SEC darkhorse pick here. You got a call for most
54:13disappointing team. Is it? It's a Kein hype. LSU going to fall face front. Who you thinking?
54:18>> I actually, you know, I feel like Oklahoma is getting, you know, because of their D. They have an incredible D
54:25and but they're getting a lot of hype.
54:27Again, it's the schedule. Like when I'm looking at them making the playoff like if they're going to be able to pull that
54:33off, I'm just I can't get behind it. Ian, I'm sorry.
54:38You know, it's you're playing at Michigan. You know, we talked the way it works both ways. It's tough for Michigan, >> also tough for Oklahoma. You know,
54:46they're 13 to1 obviously, but >> um they're playing at Georgia. They draw Texas in the Red River as they always do. They play Old Miss. They play&m.
54:56They have to go to Florida, who will be much better with Summerall this year.
55:01You know, it's like I'm looking at what they have and at the end of the day, I just can't get by because I have a bias.
55:08I don't think John Matir is a particularly good quarterback. And that's really what it comes down to. I just don't trust them to operate out of
55:16the pocket inside of structure as opposed to just going out there and winging it and being wild Diego Pavia, you know, squared and just winging it
55:26around, which it's fun and it's a good time. But like you got to be able to hit those dimes when you're hitting those
55:33bang outs when you need 10 yards. And >> I just I I his throwing motion is awkward. He doesn't set his lower half.
55:42Like there's there's a lot of things I feel like he needs to do and he needs to clean up in order to have be somebody
55:48that I can get behind from a this is a this is a playoff caliber team that this guy can lead them in the playoffs. So
55:56like them as a playoff contender, I don't think that that's a realistic scenario. I don't think they've got enough there on
56:04>> I was kind of my eyes open to dramatic game last year early in the season, but maybe the injuries were the big factor,
56:11man. But it was rough after that. I was actually I was in Oklahoma City this last weekend for the UFC fights. Awesome
56:16time. And they were showing a bunch of Oklahoma players. They were It was >> a good fight, >> bro. D took it to Usuzman. Did not help
56:24my bank account. I'll tell you that. You know, >> can't be going with 38-y old fighters. I know better than that. Got to work on
56:32that. But they were showing a bunch of Oklahoma players in the crowd. And Matir, he gave the horns down, which I
56:38get it. You're Oklahoma's quarterback. I feel like you gotta score an offensive touchdown against Texas if the horn's down. Is that fair?
56:44>> Oh, I think it is fair.
56:46>> I think it's fair.
56:47>> Speaking of Texas, >> I think it's fair. Yeah.
56:49>> Is arch is Arch Mann the real deal? Cuz I watched him in Columbus did not look good. I watched him the next four or
56:54five weeks. It didn't look good.
56:56>> I felt like start against Patricia.
57:00>> I know. I know. Let me finish. I feel like November that Michigan game, this dude looked awesome. And now you add Cam
57:06Coleman, who I'm told is one of the best wide receivers in the upcoming draft class potentially. You buying Texas as arguably the favorite of the SEC?
57:14>> Yeah, the the tools with Coleman are just outrageous. Yeah, he's my wide receiver three behind Marsh. Um and it's just he's a true X boundary. And how
57:24many of those guys really really come through? I I feel like you we get excited about the big guys who were, you
57:31know, kind of long-legged, but it's only the really rare ones really stick, you know what I mean? The the the Londons,
57:38the the T. Higgins, and >> yeah, >> it's a it's a tough profile. It's more about space creation now. I feel like
57:45Cam Coleman is that ex-profile, as is Jeremiah Smith. He's the closest thing you're gonna get to Jeremiah Smith.
57:51>> And then you got Marsh. Like, these top three guys are all 6'3 plus. These were all big boys for my my guys. I am
57:59excited to watch. And they got Ryan Wingo on the other side who's not small.
58:02He's 6'1 210 >> who you got the ball in his hands. He can fly. You got two great receivers. I I believe I believe in Arch. I think
58:11he's going to be just fine. Personally, I think he's going to be rock solid.
58:15Last year, sure, it was his first foray into starting, but now he's got a full off season. He's had it. He's done it.
58:22Done the camps. I think he's going to be fine. And from a college fantasy perspective, he is the best pro P4 guy
58:29because he runs. He's 235. He is solidly built. Remember that that picture they took with Quinn Eer standing next to Arch? This is like two years ago they
58:39took that picture. He dwarfed Quinn Eers. [laughter] >> Mog him.
58:43>> This is a big man. Moged him. Moged him.
58:46But this is a big man. I I wheels up. He is gonna be tough. So I think it's Texas and Alabama and uh I think Georgia comes
58:53down a little bit. I'm I know I don't I'm getting a little spicy here. I think it's Texas and Alabama this year in the
58:59in the SEC championship.
59:01>> What is Georgia even doing, man? Is it Gunner Stockton or is it this Mike Bobo OC that makes that offense so freaking
59:07unwatchable? I know they got the dogs out there, >> lost Manki, lost Barers, but like the whole Zachariah Branch conversation has
59:16been, oh, so many screens, so many RPOS, such a design gadget. And it's like, I hear you. I wish we could see some
59:22bigger boy NFL routes, too. But I feel like a lot of that might have had to do with that offense.
59:26>> Dude, he for what we're talking about all the gadget stuff and the way that he was used where it's basically extended
59:32handoffs and it was he only got 81 targets in the regular season.
59:37>> It wasn't like he was out there getting like 120 targets. Here comes >> They just don't do it. Again, you want
59:44to talk about teams that play slow, welcome to Georgia. You know, this is how it is now with the big dogs. They're
59:50going to lean on you and they rotate backs and you're going to see Nate Frasier and you're going to see Bowers,
59:56you know, and you're going to see even uh who's who's the third? They get Oh, yeah. Dwight Phillips. Dante Dael just
60:02came in like they're going to throw a wall of running backs at you. They're going to have a great offensive line.
60:08They always do. They're just going to try to maul you. And for his part, like from a P4, you know, from a fantasy
60:14perspective, Gunner Stockton had 10 rushing touchdowns last year. He's going to have over 500 rushing yards. Like he's he's one of those guys where he is
60:24better in fantasy. He's a 23 point per game quarterback in fantasy. Like he's a an every week P4 QB2 that you can bounce
60:33and just plug and play because he's matchup proof. So like >> he's good to have. But there's not any wide receivers. You're not seeing any
60:41wide receivers. Isaiah Canyon, you're not seeing Taylor. I mean, nobody's getting taken because they don't throw they spread it around so much and they
60:51go to the tight ends and they throw it out of the back field and they >> it's just not an exciting team
60:57offensively.
60:59>> And hey, they were still a very very close game against Miss away from advancing further in the college football playoffs. So, I'm not saying
61:04Kirby's doing anything wrong down there, but just been surprising again from an offense that looks so freaking unstoppable with Stson Bennett a few
61:11short years ago. Last three guys I want to ask you about and just because you talked about again you love Bama as a
61:16potential dog here. Georgia Texas top of the kind of rankings for a reason. These other three teams though Texas A&M LSU
61:23miss Marcel Reed's&M quarterback. We got Trinidad Chamblas after just a very weird saga going back and forth. He will be returning to Old Miss. And then we
61:32got Sam Levit doing his LSU thing alongside Kipin. Spent the last couple years in Arizona State. Some Jordan >> Yeah. So you guys watch some Jordan
61:39Tyson highlights. That was 11th on the football. Out of these quarterbacks, like who do you think maybe has the best chance of putting these teams on their
61:46back and actually having a surprising run because Trinidad did it last year?
61:50>> Trinidad was magnificent last year.
61:53>> My god, dude. That performance against Georgia. Like I thought that was the Straoud Georgia, the Scataboo, Texas.
62:02Like that just seemed to me like the best single game performance of anyone last year.
62:05>> He was incredible. He wasn't even the starter last year. It was Austin Simmons who started the season then he got hurt
62:11early on and bro it was right out of the gate as soon as he came on it was just magic and he likes he's not big like
62:185'11 but my gosh like he has that Russell Wilson sort of component to him where he is he isn't just fast and he's
62:27great breaking pock like from a college fantasy perspective he's awesome awesome he's number he's my QB2 behind arch but like some of those layered throws he was
62:37making and and the the cover two beaters and and the seam shots, he made all the throws in the biggest moments. It's just
62:46like other than Arsh, he's my guy. So that's how I feel about Trinidad Chandler. I think he's magic. And then if there's somebody else who I feel like
62:55could had the intangibles to propel their team, I I like Sam Levit. I really enjoyed watching him in 2024 at Arizona
63:02State and last year. He got hurt after in in his seventh game.
63:05>> Yeah. But with Levit, it's almost like he's a little more dependable version of Matir and that he has that ability to
63:15break the pocket. And I'd say I think he's even better than Matier at this.
63:19Like he is so good at throwing on the run and finding keeping his eyes down field, but then running. He's an
63:25excellent runner, too. Like he has that dual threat capability where he does both, but like some guys will just run, some guys will just throw. He does both
63:33to where it's hard to to figure out what's it going to be. And when he throws, man, he he made some beauties on
63:40the run. And I love how he keeps his eye down field.
63:43>> I think he's he's better in the pocket than Matias, but there's room to to clean things up. I think that like
63:49system fitwise is what we're getting at here. Kein, he he's he reminds me of like a corral.
63:57He reminds me of a dart. Like he's that kind of a guy. And all Keifin asks you to do is one read, two read, go. And Sam
64:06Lev can do that. So like simplifying things, which Dillingham is an amazing OC over there in Arizona State, don't get me wrong, but like Kein will just
64:14simplify it and then let him loose. And I could see him having because Carell and Dart were both magnificent college fantasy starters. They were true
64:23QB1s uh for college fantasy purposes. And I feel like like Levit has more dart potential than he does on the corral
64:32side for NFL draft purpose. I feel like he has a better arm. So, uh I'd love to see how he does. I feel like if he
64:37elevates like he could get into first round conversation if he has a good year.
64:41>> Watching Jordan Tyson again from these last couple seasons, bro. I completely agree. Levit, he'd make the impossible happen. Just some of the craziest off
64:49structure plays that you've seen out there. It was almost like more of a trouble hitting some of those layups.
64:54And having watched again plenty of Lane Kippen's offenses over the years, I feel like he's going to make that easier than
64:59never for this dude. I feel like this LSU offense man is going to put up big-time numbers, which probably isn't a
65:03hot take, but I I love hearing that you can see the first round because I did have a couple too many coming to big
65:09waves earlier in this off season. Put a Heisman bet on Sam Le man. We'll see what happens.
65:14>> I like it. I like it. I There's a path, let me tell you that. And like I said, there's a path for first round. So, if I
65:19can get a little cashy markets, I'd probably go and explore. I don't know how that >> shout out. Shout out.
65:24>> All right, Eric. Fantastic stuff, man. I want to get some quick hitters here on some again just predictions the rest of
65:29college football. What random team do you think could surprisingly kind of rise up and be in the thick of the college football playoff conversation
65:35come here November?
65:37>> I I I like having fun in the Big 12 and the ACC because, you know, with with with the big two conferences, those
65:43teams are just so good that it's >> right, >> it's going to be it's tough to ascend up there. Like, you hear what we're talking
65:49about. Okay, Oregon and and Indiana and you know, hot take, you know. Oh, great.
65:55Alabama hot, you know, and even that is it kind of is, but >> yeah, >> we can have fun in the Big 12. We can
66:01have fun in the ACC. I like Houston in the Big 12. I am a Houston guy. Willie Fritz year three again. It's the year
66:09three of like coaches that I like sort of a thing that I trust and I love Willie Fritz. You saw we did it too
66:15lane. Michael Pratt was a mene for fantasy purposes. All right. Over there when he was at Tulain as we all know got
66:23himself drafted because of it. Not a lot of G5 QBs were doing that at the time.
66:28But um you know over there at Houston Connor Weman former like high four adjacent five-star quarterback at Texas A&M like started young but then got
66:39hurt.
66:40>> Yeah.
66:40>> Was around for the full season. He has the same dual threat capability we talked about with the other guys. about
66:45I mean really good solid arm. There's a there's a lot of good senioresque, you know, junior senior upper classman QBs that I like and I'm
66:56excited to see how they do this year.
66:58And Connor Wegman's absolutely one of them. You also got Amari Thomas who was just a target hog all over the place.
67:05They bring in Trent Walker who had 100 catches two years ago for Oregon State.
67:10And from UTSA, tight end to replace Tanner Kosol, who is a hot dynasty name, we got Patrick Under Meyer from UTSA was
67:20a machine down there at the AAC level.
67:24So, I just feel like all that is incredible. And they play the 60th ranked schedule. Schedule so important.
67:31don't have to deal with some of the big dogs there that you're worried about. No BYU. Um will have the unfortunate
67:38pleasure of playing at Texas Tech, but it's week three and it's early.
67:42>> Yeah.
67:43>> And we know that there's issues like >> Texas Tech is still like a heavy favorite in the Big 12. But there's real
67:50questions about Will Hammond coming back, their quarterback. He was injured.
67:54He tore his ACL late in the season.
67:57>> Third game of the season they play Houston. I think Houston could get him that early in the year before him just
68:03really back and really comfortable and might not play the first two games. I think that's that's a real upset spot.
68:09They go and they beat Texas Tech and it's on. It's on and I think they could.
68:12So >> Houston's plus plus 850 on DraftKings to make the College Football Playoff. Navy post Eli Hidenrike. Navy has better odds. Come on.
68:23>> I know. Eli Hidenrike.
68:26I mean, look at the testing. You don't see guys from Na Navy test like that.
68:33>> Heisman, everyone loves it. Everyone loves to bet on it for good reason.
68:37>> Who's your favorite and what's your favorite darkhorse bet?
68:42>> Uh, well, the, you know, my favorite and the favorite.
68:46>> Don't say CJ Carter. Don't say CJ.
68:47>> No, of course not. My favorite honestly and something I have a position on 14 to1. 14 to1
68:58Jeremiah. Jeremiah Smith. Why wouldn't I guys >> my guy >> I want the best player. We saw Travis Hunter win a couple years ago which I
69:07had at 75 to1 at 100 to one.
69:11>> I was only able to get $50 down in each of them. I don't care. I had them 75 and 100 to1 in January the year before.
69:18Jeremiah Smith is the best player in college football. I want the best player in college football. And the beauty about Ohio State and Seai is like
69:28there's no Carnell Tate there anymore.
69:30You know, Mchuan's fine. You you're going to get Chris Henry plenty of work, don't get me wrong. But like >> Seyan is so solid but unspectacular and
69:37so like low-key good. Highest completion rate in the country by over 5% on target accuracy rate.
69:45>> Yeah. like he was 73% on target rate. 69 I think was what we had for uh >> for Fernando Mendoza's next closest just
69:54off the top of my head.
69:56>> But throwing like he's just milktoast and and boring enough to where it's just everyone's going to make just go gaga
70:03over Jeremiah Smith. So he is my number one overall player. When I have the number one overall pick, I am taking
70:09Jeremiah Smith. And at 14 to1, I am also taking Jeremiah Smith. Dude, the thing with Sean and I I know the expectation
70:17for Ohio State if they lose a single game, it's a disaster. And I get it.
70:21Okay, >> the way it's talked about saying versus Indiana and Miami, you would think he threw for like a 100 yards, man. He
70:28still averaged 8.9 and 8.2 yards per attempt in those games, 258 and 287.
70:33Needs to do better out of structure.
70:34Needs to not take some sacks. But I don't know, man. You talked about tough schedules, man. Ohio State's got probably the toughest one in the
70:42country. And what I see from that though is we're not going to get these we're not going to get this two-mon stretch
70:46of, oh, okay, Maryland's up next. Oh, here comes UCLA. They're gonna have to keep that pedal down early and often to
70:53make sure they can get the double digit wins. And yes, guys, I know Arthur Smith, we've had our issues. Arthur Smith, I think we're going to see what
71:00we saw Matt Patricia last year. That's someone who is still good enough to be an NFL head coach, still good enough to
71:06be a quality NFL offensive coordinator.
71:08Put them at the college level and give them sane and Jeremiah Smith. Get freaking ready, man.
71:12>> Got Chip Kelly a job in the NFL again.
71:15Right.
71:16>> Right.
71:16>> He got He hung around for a year at Las Vegas. Congratulations. Grabbed a paycheck. That being said, >> at is it Ohio State,
71:25>> at Texas week two, at Iowa, at Indiana, Oregon, Michigan, at USC. Dude, it's I
71:36have it number five in the country, but it's it's one of the top five toughest schedules, you know, if not it's it's
71:42brutal brutal schedule. That's why I mean another another cap in in Oregon's favor compared to that. They don't got to face that.
71:52>> Do you have a long shot otherwise? I mean, Jeremiah plus 1400. I know that's already like a pretty decent one. I was
71:58just wondering if there was someone like way down the line that you maybe thought >> do I have a long shot? I think I'm gonna
72:02come in here. Ian Hardis' show. My first RotoWire appearance with Ian Hard. I'm not gonna have long shots, my friend.
72:10You're done right. I do. I'm gonna go with in descending order. We talked about him before. I won't belor the point. Nick Marsh 200 to one. Give it to
72:18me.
72:19>> They're They're a great team. I Everybody loves Charlie Becker, don't get me wrong. If they want Nick Marsh to go wild, he's going to go wild. I mean,
72:28it's a matter of how much they want him to go nuts. He is 10 times the receiver that Elijah Saratus. So, Elijah Sarat is
72:36nothing. So, anyways, him 250 to one here. Here's one for you. Here's a deeper. We're going to the ACC.
72:44We're going down the ACC board to one of my favorite ACC sleeper teams. We're going to pit.
72:52We're going to the Nard Dog. Pat Narduzi.
72:56Mason Heinchell, quarterback, Pittsburgh, 250 to1. Dude, Cade Bell, Kerwin Bell, his son Cade Bell is the offensive coordinator at Pittsburgh.
73:07Like Heincho was a freshman last year.
73:10Like they threw him into the Wolves kind of just like, "All right, Eli Holstein, they thought Holstein was going to be
73:15the guy." Like you heard all through camp like, "Hey, this Hinchel kid's really good." Hol was was a top 10 recruit out of Alabama that transferred
73:22there and was like the incumbent. He comes in, you know, four games in the season, takes over and lights it up for
73:29a few games, and then faces some tougher opponents down the stretch, but it's all there with Hechill. I think he's going
73:36to be great from a college fantasy perspective. I'm very high on him. 250 to1. That's a fun one. And lastly, my
73:42man, my RB1 of the of the 2027 draft class, and it's a it's a deep. It's 300 to1. But my RB1
73:53from Florida, John Srall going there. He made Tai Spears a household name at two lane single-handedly. A kingmaker for
74:01the running back position. Jaden Boss 61 228 Florida. That man is an absolute monster of a human being. like
74:13incredible like the the the slippery the ability to slide step and to square up and to and to fool defenders. He's got
74:19like four, five, seven estimated speed, but then when he lowers it down or when he gives you the stiff arm, when he
74:25lowers it down, creating bad angles, he's blowing right through SEC caliber linebackers.
74:33Unbelievably difficult to tackle. He is like that just it takes an army to do it. He reminds me of like higherend
74:42speed and burst than Raandre, but that same sort of lateral agility and ability to catch the ball and to do everything,
74:49but more explosive because like a 465 guy. I think you see BA go like four 56 457.
74:58>> Jeremiah Smith, Eric's favorite. Nick Marsh, Mason Heightel, Jaden Ba. Maybe sprinkle on some long shots, guys.
75:06Crazier things have happened after all.
75:0875 to 100 to1 Travis Hunter. Absolutely love him, my friend. Last thing, favorite bet. Maybe you've already said it. Favorite current bet that you have
75:16down. It could be week zero, could be award, conference winner. What is your favorite bet that we all need to just
75:21run and put down right now?
75:23>> Uh, I'm going to go to the props market.
75:25The season longs just came out there on underdog, right? So, I I put down a few.
75:30So, a lot of my favorites that originally were out are now no longer available, but this is still there. I haven't even put this out publicly. This
75:39is a Ian Hardit exclusive.
75:42>> Whoa.
75:42>> Ian Hardit exclusive right here. And you heard him already. I mean, it's not it's not a secret, but Nick Marsh is listed
75:50at 724 and a half receiving yards.
75:53>> He'll be there by week five, >> bro. He is gonna destroy that. They have him like it's like, "Oh, well, I don't I
76:00don't know." Like they got Josh Hoover throwing. They're not They have a whole new running back room. The top two just
76:05graduated. Like, >> yeah, >> they're Nick Marsh is going to have no problem catching passes.
76:11>> Like, oh yeah, what do you need? 60 yards a game, 12 games. Yeah, he's going to be all right. He's going to be just
76:17fine. He's going to be fine.
76:19>> I love it.
76:20>> They got Becker there. They got Becker there, but they >> I loved his He was 699 and a half. He
76:27opened at that was an over. He's up to 750 now, but like definitely 6ix9ine and a half. He started he didn't start until
76:34week eight and he destroyed every just in terms of the back shoulder throws and the the the dominance winning at the
76:43catch point. Nobody won like at the catch point who's returning this year like Charlie Becker. He's getting first round buzz off of just sheer 6'4 220
76:53bulliness.
76:55Both of them are unbelievable. There's no Omar Cooper. There's no Elijah Serat.
77:00Like Tyler Morris is that third guy in the [ __ ] They're gonna anytime they those two guys are going to get all
77:06those targets focused directly to him and they deserve it. Get it like no problem. I think both of them sail over
77:12that seven mark.
77:15>> Nick Marsh Heisman over.
77:18>> Let him date your daughter. Whole nine yards. Nick wine Smith. wide receiver 2 2027.
77:24>> Eric, you are a gentleman and a scholar and again you do fantastic work as the college football analyst maker founder
77:32over at Yahoo Sports. Everyone go check out your work again at CFro if you're into Twitter sphere type of thing.
77:38Anything else you want to for chess my friend?
77:41>> Yeah, just play college fantasy football over at Yahoo and uh give it up to Rotoire. They've been longtime supporters of the college fantasy
77:48football movement. my homeboy John Mckne, right? I know he's a long time. I know he I know he likes NFL too. You
77:55know, I'll forgive John for that because he's [laughter] a great guy, but uh you know, nothing but love for Roto Wire and
78:00everything they've done for the college fantasy football space. True supporters and I love it. So happy to see you over here, Ian.
