0:05Week five fantasy football must start players and start sit decisions. I'm live right now with Jim Coventry, Theo Gringer right here with Rotoire. Jim and
0:14I every single week are breaking down the players that you should be starting, the players you should be benching, and a little bit of in between. Uh Jim,
0:21we're also going to give people like the straight up information about time to like limit expectations. And one player who we've been talking about kind of all
0:30week long. How should fantasy managers feel about Brock Perie? Brock Pertie's been playing at an MVP level. He's going to start for you, but what are your
0:40expectations for him against this rockolid Seattle Seahawks pass defense, which has just been so impressive throughout the entire season?
0:49>> You're starting pretty, but you're downgrading him. I had him at quarterback three last week, and I didn't think twice about it. This week
0:55we're looking like quarterback sevenish.
0:58They're playing Seattle. They're playing in Seattle. Seattle understands Shanahan's offense, but vice versa.
1:04Shanahan may have some bad tricks in his bag here. Perie, here's the beauty this year, Theo. Perie is getting it out
1:10fast. He's not getting sacked. And it's a number. It's Scheme. It's him. And if Seattle doesn't get to him, they can get
1:17things going. But Seattle last time, before KD got hurt in that last game, they had answers for KD. They had answers for McCaffrey. Um maybe Mike
1:25Evans can get things going a week healthier. So I'm optimistic that Perie can get something done, but clearly we're not expecting a smash week here.
1:32Just a floor game. Yeah. And people always are thinking like the beginning of the show that I'm looking grumpy or I'm like ignoring Jim. I'm I'm
1:39retweeting I'm retweeting it because we're we're live right now. So I'm retweeting uh the the post on Rotoire.
1:44So I'm with you. I have pretty I think a reasonable way to think about him like you said QB7. I would say right around
1:50that like QB8 level. Um, it's not it's it's not going to be a QB1 overall week for Perty. Like, diminish your
1:56expectations. I think if you're playing DFS, it would probably be one that I'd look to avoid, but reddraft, we're here.
2:02Party's a start every week. He looks fantastic. Here is a question in the chat. Um, from Hennessy Black, uh, Hennessy Black with two Ks, pick three
2:11in PPR. George KD, who's been on an absolute heater, Tyler Warren, TJ Hawinson, who just set the world on fire last week. Tyler Algier, Trey Harris,
2:22and Alvin Kamaros. So, we got a lot of players. Okay, so pick three. George KD's going to be one of them.
2:27>> Um, who's number two?
2:29>> Tyler Warren Tyler Warren's got to be in. He's getting enough targets.
2:32>> Okay, so then we're looking at TJ Hawinson, Tyler Algier, Trey Harris, or Alvin Kamar. I think I'm probably going back to the well with TJ Hawinson, but I
2:41do think Tyler Algier is a sneaky one this week in what should be a very high-scoring game uh with Arizona and
2:48Detroit. I'm sure we'll talk about that about a million times on this show.
2:51Who's your lean here? Uh I think it for me it's going to be Hawk. It's hard to sit a guy after what he did last week.
2:59>> I was I have a lot of Hawkins in shares.
3:01I knew that he'd get a connection with with Murray. But here's the thing. If Justin Jefferson's back, it's not going to be the TJ show. It's going to be the
3:08Justin Jefferson show probably. So, I I think a decent week for a Hawk, but honestly, the cooked to Alvin Chimera isn't the worst choice because Minnesota
3:17is going to blitz all day. Tyler Shuck's going to dump off seven screens to him.
3:21So, I think he's literally going to catch seven passes for about 25 yards, but it's going to get you 10 points. So,
3:26yeah, it's a bad play and I like Hawklay as well, but I think Chimera is going to catch a lot of balls here because he's
3:31going to have to.
3:32>> Yeah. So, we're butting heads on this one. I'm saying Hawinson, Jim saying Kamar. Let us know in the chat and
3:38appreciate all the live comments here.
3:40People want to get their their questions answered, but people really join in with these ones. So, let us know. Kamara or
3:45Hawk and we'll try to help out Hennessy Black. Uh Jim, let's take a couple more questions from the chat here. Bo Nicks
3:52or Jordan Love. This is from Louise in the chat.
3:56>> To me, it's not that difficult. I know the Bears have all these statistics that are going on for them. Look, they played
4:02Carolina in week one and they've been fine. They played Minnesota in a rainstorm with Carson Wentz. They played Philadelphia. And we know the story of
4:09that offense right now. And they played the Jets. And the Jets were always at some point going to be the Jets. They're
4:15going to be able to pass the ball against Chicago. Chicago has a manufacturer rush. Even if they blitz, Love is good against the Blitz. I know
4:22the Bears corners are grading well, but who have they played? So there's going to be very little issue for Green Bay
4:28with big plays through the air. Give me Jordan Love. And honestly, to me, it's not that close.
4:32>> Yeah. Yeah. And and for me, I'm I'm higher on the Chicago defense, I think, than you are after talking a little bit
4:37in the pre-show in terms of like their long-term fantasy viability, but it's still going to be Jordan Love for me. Uh
4:43I think he's clearly ahead of Bo Knicks.
4:46I think people are just ahead of their skis here on Bo Knicks and, you know, just kind of reeling against this this
4:52Los Angeles Chargers defense. Chargers did force five turnovers against Buffalo two weeks ago. So, like Los Angeles has a ton of problems right now, but a lot
5:01of those are on the offensive side of the ball. Continuing this conversation, one more question from Luis. Uh, we've got Trevor Lawrence or Brock Party this
5:10week. I'm going Pertie here. Uh, which way are you going here?
5:13>> We So, we were laughing cuz I think you and I had words off air and I said like, "Oh, you were on the XM show yesterday."
5:19And I go, "Yeah, the star [ __ ] show's been sit show's been great other than me getting Trevor Lawrence wrong every
5:24single week. They're playing Philly and Philly right now is defense is disastrous. Uh they're not playing in the middle of the field at all. They're
5:33they're a complete liability there and I keep saying that's where Lawrence lives.
5:36Now we've had a couple defense correct that like Denver correct it if they had the personnel. Philly doesn't. So this is exactly where Trevor Lawrence
5:45attacks. Philly's pass rush not good right now. I have Lawrence again high. I have him as my quarterback four. I got
5:52Pury as my seven. Both are good, but I but seriously, Lawrence had two bad fantasy games, but I don't know how he
5:58doesn't rip up Philly here in England.
6:01>> Okay, here's one for you. Bashel Tutin's going to score the touchdowns. This is Bashel Tutin week. Philly's led up a ton
6:06of rushing touchdowns. He had two of them called back from Tutin. The one problem we're having with Lawrence and I think things get a lot better if you
6:13look at like the end of season schedule with Lawrence. We saw with Parker Washington last week, sort of a disappointing week from him. The the
6:19pass volume, they're too good.
6:22Jacksonville's defense is too good and they might just reel off on Philly. So you might end up with like a game where
6:27it's like, >> you know, you're not necessarily used to this with Philly, but you might end up with like a 24-13 game for Jacksonville
6:34where Toutton scores like a touchdown or you get a Tutin touchdown, a Chris Rodriguez touchdown. I'm going pretty here because I think that I I just have
6:42a little bit better vibes. But again, Lawrence is a low-end QB1. We're splitting hairs here. Here's a good one.
6:48>> Heyo, real quick. I I like what you said though about the defense in Jacksonville being so good. They could be tamping
6:55down the shootouts. So, there's a lot of merit to that. Um, and I just went when when you said that, it also made me
7:00think of the Seattle San Francisco game.
7:03Well, Seattle's offense this year, it's not the same offense that wrecked San Francisco's injury ravaged defense last year. That game could be lower scoring
7:10than we think, too.
7:12>> Yeah, I sure hope not. I sure hope not because I got some rocking [laughter] there. Um, we got one more question.
7:17this is and then we'll hit we're going to hit a couple of players that you've uh circled for the week, but Emanuel
7:22Wilson or DeAndre Swift at running back too. Uh very very interesting question here because Swift last week we had the
7:31fumble and we this has been backto-back uh backto-back games now I believe for for fumbles for Swift but it was really
7:38a changing of the guard where Kyle Manangi sort of just dominated last week and did it to the expense of DeAndre
7:47Swift. Both players collectively through the season have put up awesome numbers.
7:52I think they're both top seven in rushing yards uh in the NFL right now.
7:56Uh really really impressive stuff. Um but I think people are a little bit worried about could this be sort of a
8:02changing of the guard here. Many just looked fantastic and had 30 carries last week.
8:07>> Yeah, Manonga is a very good downhill runner and definitely the Jets have not been a good defense for that. It was
8:14punishment for Swift and and Ben Johnson said in the postgame it was an injury related why Swift was that and clearly
8:21Manungai outnapped him by a mile. So you do have to think about this as part of the decision. It's very possible Ben
8:28Johnson carries the discipline out into this week. We don't know and we will not know that. So if you want the safest
8:33play right now unless um Charbanet gets activated it's going to be Emanuel Wilson for safety. But if you want to go
8:41for ceiling, if we see him Swift get back in, he could play with a chip on his shoulder and he actually against
8:49Green Bay last year. Green Bay shut down Manungai. They knew exactly how to defend him. Swift still played well against him. But again, that's a huge
8:57risk because Ben Johns could carry that discipline out Theo. Yeah, I'm I'm going to go with Swift here, but I think
9:03they're both RB2s this week and but I think like Wilson last week sort of everything like lent itself to a massive
9:10Wilson game. Uh I think people might be chasing that one a little bit. I'm going to have Wilson probably around >> running back 20 range. I think Swift is
9:19probably still closer to RB 15. They paid Swift a fortune. The Bears know what Swift is. uh they understand that that that there's there's going to be es
9:27and flows with which running back crushes, but Swift's a player that you don't want to bench. I think that it's going to come back to a little bit of
9:33normaly and I think it was we already saw it last week. Plus the Kanong guy thumb thing where it doesn't sound like
9:39a like a massive thing, but it's like did they put a little bit of too much on him? Giving a guy with a thumb issue
9:45another incredibly high volume week just sounds like a little bit too much to ask. So, I think Manungai and Swift both
9:51comfortably go into your lineups this week, but Swift is the one that I'm ranking higher. Um, let's talk about a couple of players that you've circled
9:59this week, Jim. And make sure you're also checking out Jim on Rotoire Live, on SiriusXM, and on Sunday mornings doing your start sit show. So, similar
10:09to this one, but Jim is all by himself on that one. Do you get lonely on Sunday mornings after rocking it on Thursdays
10:15with me, Jim? Well, it does get lonely except for the hundred people or 200 people that are sitting in the room
10:20bombarding me. So, that part makes it less lonely. But, yeah. No, I like working with Theo Ginger.
10:25>> That's right. Let's let's talk about um let's talk about Raandre Stevenson this week. Interesting player. People are uh a little more optimistic right now about
10:34the New England Patriots. I mean, I was sort of leaving Drake May for dead. You talked about Drake May last week as a
10:40player that you were higher than consensus. You were absolutely right. Uh Drake May was fantastic against Buffalo.
10:46And it's it's funny, we get so emotional when it comes to early season results in the NFL, but New England's sitting at 2
10:54and2. They have a chance to go to 3-2 this week with a home game against Vegas. Vegas has been a generous defense
11:01in terms of points allowed. They've been able to force turnovers, but it feels like another potentially good spot for Drake May. Is it also a good spot for
11:09Raandre Stevenson? I think this is a lowercoring physical game. I think that Clint Kubak realizes that he has Brock Bowers going to use the heck out of him,
11:20but they're going to keep trying to push the Ashton Genty thing. And I think there's a week they can get Genty to the
11:24outside. They run a lot of outside zone, we call it, and the Raiders um can get that done in this matchup because New
11:30England, even going back to last year, they're real stout up the middle, but if you can get to the edge against them,
11:34you can have a lot of success. So I think Jenty gets but that conversely I think that the Patriots are going to
11:39live in that world as well. Max Crosby has a massive advantage on Will Campbell here and I think they don't want to get
11:45into that game where they're dropping Dre May back too much and have the game get wrecked on him. May was good last
11:51week like you said but as a divisional game and I'm telling you those divisional games wacky things happen.
11:55Stephvenson is going to continue to see just a little bit more work but that goal line work is really important over
12:01Trayvon. And still Stephvenson catches more passes because he pass protects. So it is a good spot for Stephvenson.
12:07>> Yeah, I'm going to have Stephvenson somewhere inside probably the top 20 running backs, maybe at least the top 24. Um, you can go check out my flex
12:15rankings as well as gyms atroawire.com.
12:18Use the code Theo40, get 40% off. Also, our quarterback rankings. And one quarterback who is in pretty good shape this week. Actually, you know, we'll get
12:27to the quarterback question in a moment.
12:29I had a a good running back question here. uh Will Shipley, who a lot of people picked up on the waiverwire. The
12:35two of us had a chance to discuss him a little bit earlier this week on your show over on Sirius. Um I'm think I'm a
12:42little bit higher on Shipley than than you are. You're worried about a committee. Um but I feel like it's the short-term nature short-term nature of
12:50this thing and I think will Shipley sort of catching passes out of the backfield.
12:54Allah what we saw from Chase Brown against this Jacksonville defense. I think that could sort of be uh they could sort of force Philly's hand here.
13:02So you got Will Shipley, Woody Marx, or pick up Caleb Johnson. This is half point PPR. This is uh from Cappy Dave in
13:10the YouTube chat.
13:11>> Caleb Johnson's fumbling the ball. His role is completely insecure. Snap to snap, daytoday, week to week starting him. And there's no ceiling. There is no
13:21ceiling. and the floor is zero because they could pull him or just say we're done with the fumbles and again Chris
13:26Brooks has an ankle so maybe if he doesn't play then Caleb will get some work. Shipley has a problem because he
13:32doesn't have an offensive line and the Jacksonville run defense is insanely good. So it's not going to be a lot going now. Maybe they dump him the ball.
13:40I do like him over Marks though because Woody Marks Markx's matchup is even worse. Houston, good luck running against Tennessee because that's the one
13:48thing they can do. You could throw all day on them, but you can't run on Jeff Simmons in that group. So, I think
13:53Shipley probably catches four passes here. And I think that is your tiebreaker.
13:58>> Yeah, that's where I'm at. I think Shipley for me pretty easily over these two. I think Woody Marks has a lot of
14:03contingent upside, but it would sort of require a David Montgomery going down just based on the collective volume those two guys are receiving. I have
14:11zero trust whatsoever in this Green Bay offensive line. That is a passfunnel offense. We've talked about that in multiple weeks. saw some positives from
14:18Tucker Craft last week. We know what Matthew Golden, Christian Watson are.
14:22You're starting all three receivers.
14:24You're starting Jordan Love and you're staying the heck away from that running back room. Here's a a question. Um this is a good one from Mando Montana. Uh
14:34start one running back and one flex.
14:36DeAndre Swift, Amari Hampton, who was rocking as like the number three back in LA last week. Insane. Will Shipley, Kyle Manangi, Romeo Dobs, who was terrific
14:46last week, and then Dante Meyers. This is a really interesting qu uh question, and part of me would just say start both
14:54Chicago backs. Yep.
14:55>> And and make it easy and go both Chicago backs. And that's usually like sort of cheap advice because >> if you run into situations where the
15:05game flow goes against the running backs, you could end up with sort of two duds. But the idea of that happening
15:11with this Chicago offense is minimal.
15:14One of these guys is going to put up a huge number, and there's a chance both of them put up really good numbers. So,
15:18I'm going to go with both Chicago running backs here. Uh, your thoughts?
15:22>> Yeah, the Bears have two games with what, 200 rushing yards already. This This is the Bears identity. They are going to run every week and they can
15:30run. And Green Bay, they just lost a linebacker for the season, so they're in trouble here. So, I think that's the
15:37safest route. Dante Myers is only interesting if you're making this decision on Friday or Saturday. Chase is in concussion protocol. Higgins has a
15:45neck thing. If they're if one of them plays and Kobe Young is actually limited in practice. He's ahead of Dante Myers
15:52on the depth chart. He missed last week.
15:54So, you need some dominoes. That's like a Saturday decision on Dante Myers.
15:57Today, I'm saying no. But Saturday, if everybody's out, all of a sudden they're playing Miami and he's live. But like you said, just go with the Bears running
16:04backs. Hampton, not right now. Yeah, like make sure you're tuning in end of the week, especially with Jim on Sunday morning. Dante Myers might have like 15
16:13PPR points if there's all this attrition because, you know, the pass volume is going to be really good. And Myers looked very good last week. Uh I think I
16:20think he's just like it's sort of like a there's a lot of DFS people sort of just crossing their fingers that Higgins and
16:26Chase both sit out and then they can use Dante Myers and Mike Jeki in the same game. Chase Brown also getting a lot of
16:33lot of unbelievable pass volume out of the back field. Chase Brown's just a a little PSA. I think Chase Brown's like a
16:39really good buy low right now because he doesn't have and no rushing touchdowns.
16:43Jim that, you know, those will come as the season moves along, but the passing game work elite for Chase Brown.
16:49>> You know, the Chase Brown thing. So, Cincinnati was trying this under center thing that they they thought because the league is kind of going like put your
16:56quarterback under center, use more play action, it makes your run game a little bit better. They only were using like 7%
17:02of the time. They scrapped it in the second half last week. That's actually going to help Chase Brown because they're going to go to the gun and
17:08that's why Brown, we loved him last year because in the gun the defense has to drop everybody back in pass coverage.
17:14That's where Chase Brown makes his money. So yeah, Chase Brown is a huge buy low right now. Let's also talk about
17:21Romeo Dobs because he put up a huge number last week and it coincided with this bounceback game from from Drake May. We've seen this in years past where
17:31Romeo Dubs puts up like a big spike week and then completely disappears, but it feels a little bit different right now
17:37with the lack of of pass catching competition and now you've got M.
17:41Collins dealing with a calf injury. Of course, AJ Brown, you know, whatever happened there. Um, we don't know when he's going to be back. So, you Romeo
17:49Dobs to me, I I feel like I want to go back to the well in some leagues. Now, now this is not we're getting away from
17:57Mando Montana's question here, but this is specifically how are you valuing Romeo Dobs this week. Um, are you confident that he can sort of string a
18:06couple of strong ones together or should we be wary? I do think he has the potential to string something together, but I want to be I want to caution
18:14everybody, don't take last week as a litmus test. I've been telling people since week one, Detroit and Buffalo are your get well defenses among a couple
18:21others. They are horrible. Buffalo gives up production to everybody. So it makes no surprise there's no surprise to me when a player like Dubs goes off on
18:30Buffalo. So just full disclosure there.
18:32That's it. The Raiders have surprisingly been very well coached in the secondary.
18:37They are not giving up a lot of receiver production. I said earlier this is a runbased game for both teams. There'll
18:43be some throwing. I think DO is a floor play. He's a fine floor play. I don't see him going off here.
18:49wanted to um make a quick mention that uh Jim, you know, I know you do a ton of research o over at Rotoire. Our stats,
18:57our advanced stats are elite over at Rotoire. So, I know a lot of people are looking for like ways to elevate their
19:04fantasy game. There's sites out there sort of like PFF, sort of unnecessary. If you're looking for like a pff like experience, you can
19:13get almost all of the same stats and advanced statistics over at Rotoire for a complete fraction of the price. Jim, how much time do you spend on our
19:22advanced stats pages when you're doing your weekly research?
19:26>> It's massively important and it's sometimes it's knowing what to look for.
19:29Some sites will give you like a million different things. You don't always need a million different things. Sometimes it's great to have all of it your hands.
19:36Roto wire, I like the player page. You go to the player page. For the running back, I want to see your broken tackle
19:41rate. I want to see your yards after contact. Those I go to the percentiles.
19:45I mouse over the the number and it gives me a percentile. I love that. For receivers, I want to see your average
19:51depth of target. Um, again, your yards after the catch. These are some numbers that are going to often tell me a story
19:58about the player that that doesn't always show in the box score.
20:02>> Yeah, make sure you go check that one out over at rotoire.com if you have a Rotoire subscription already. And I know
20:07a lot of you that support Gemini's content, you already are subscribed to the site. I think people are just not always aware of how layered we are in
20:16terms of statistics and analytics. Go check out I like using the advanced stats pages, but uh Jim, you know, you make a great point. You can just simply
20:24type in the player and then you're finding out all this amazing information. The the site is just such like the improvements on on rotoire.com.
20:33We're heading in such an awesome direction. some really cool announcements end of the week here about a couple of other things we're going to
20:39be doing contentwise rest of the season.
20:41Go check out rotoawwire.com. Um here's an interesting one. Uh Jameus Winston, Aaron Rodgers, or Deshun Watson. For me,
20:52like I think that Winston has a great matchup. Washington's allowing 30 plus points per game on the season. Watson's been playing very well, but this is an
21:01easy one for me. I'm going with the old man Aaron Rodgers. I think Aaron Rogers is set up in a great spot this week
21:06against Indie. Rogers has two consecutive games with three passing touchdowns where he's thrown for more than 290 passing yards. So, I'm I'm into
21:15Aaron Rogers this week fairly easily over these two guys.
21:19>> Nothing wrong going Aaron Rogers.
21:21They're going to they're probably going to try to run the ball. I think Indie is going to try to run the ball because
21:24Daniel Jones, guess what? He's seeing pressure again. Not so good. Um nothing wrong with Roger, but I'm telling you with here's the thing with Deshun
21:31Watson. He's running and we we those are free points. His rushing 38 22 45 22.
21:38Those are free points that Aaron Rogers isn't getting you. And Watson's one and a half touchdowns a game. Um throwing 30
21:45plus times in his last three games. He might look actually funny enough Theo from NFL. He's still terrible. He's throwing interceptions, fumbling it
21:52away, taking sacks. But the good news for fantasy, he's getting the ball in the hands of his playmakers and that he's live for fantasy. So again, I like
22:00Rogers like you, but I just think the rushing upside that that Watson's giving you right now. Yeah, I think against the
22:06Jets, he definitely can run for another 35, 40 yards. For me, that makes a difference.
22:10>> Yeah, I think for me, they're they're both probably top 15ish option options at quarterback this week. So, pick your poison here. But Watson, like like you
22:18said, if we're going from like the quality of the skill position players, Cleveland is is way up there. like the Judkins has taken a big step forward and
22:27then the the combination of Harold Fannon, Casey Conpsion and Denzel Boston like those three are really really talented. I think when we go into 2027
22:36we might be having conversations that this is one of the best skill position trios at at receiver and they complement each other very very well. Uh
22:45interesting stuff. Here's let's go rapid fire. Oh, go for it >> real quick. I want I point out about Cleveland. They revamped that entire
22:51offensive line and they have talent on the line. I always said it was going to take about a month for them to gel. We
22:56began to see it last week. This is actually use it for the receivers, for Judkins. This is positive. They're getting better because they have talent
23:04now.
23:06Here we go. Uh let's go rapid fire on this one. Gregory Gregory in the chat says Daltton Concaid or TJ Hawinson.
23:13It's sort of the tale of two cities here where Kaid had a dud uh dominated dominated production over the first two
23:20weeks of the year. uh really really poor week four and then we've got TJ Hawinson on a heater. I'm still going to trust
23:26the process here. It's my guy Daltton Concaid fairly easily even in a tough matchup against the LA Rams where the Rams pass defense is tough and the Rams
23:36against opposing tight ends have been pretty good this year. But I'm still going Daltton Kaid here. Jim >> Joe Brady pretty much punched himself in
23:43the head after last game saying how did I only get concaid two targets? He knows that needs to be fixed. That will be
23:48fixed. King Kade >> rapid fire. This is from J Red, not Jared. J Red. Um CJ Strad, Drake May, or Sam Darnold. Do I trust May now?
23:58Certainly when it's these three. Uh Straoud, the pass volume has been incredible. This is the highest pass rate of at any point of his career in
24:05Houston. Um Darnold, we talked about that matchup a little bit that I mean hopefully for fantasy managers, Jim is wrong and it has a little shootout type
24:13feel, but it's easily Drake May here.
24:15Drake May is levels above these guys in terms of this one for me. I'm going to comfortably rank Drake May well ahead of
24:22these guys for this week.
24:24>> Yeah, same thing. I love Straoud this week, but you got Drake May and I have Drake May, like you said, about five
24:29quarterback spots higher. Straoud has sneaky upside because Tennessee, you can't run on them. They're pass funnel defense, but like you said, you can't
24:35sit Drake May here.
24:37>> Let's go rapid fire. Chris Bell, Jordan Addison, Romeo Dobs, or Ali Gordon.
24:42Fullpoint PPR. Let's let's take a moment and talk about Gordon. Uh back-to-back strong weeks, Jim. And [snorts] last last week he did it on lower than
24:51anticipated volume. They they certainly gave Jaylen Wright a lot of chances in that first half. Second half, I think Ali Gordon earned the work. Uh had a
24:59long like a 50 plus yard rush and he also scored a touchdown. The week before he had a touchdown on really good
25:05volume. Um, should people limit their expectations on Gordon this week or is he sort of in the flex discussion every single week moving forward? And then
25:14we'll take this question. Nightmare matchup for Gordon because Dexter Lawrence when he's on the field, you cannot run inside on Cincinnati. Now,
25:22maybe Gordon on the snap set Dexter Lawrence is off the field can do enough, but this is a team you run outside on.
25:27To me, this is a Jaylen Wright game because you can't run inside on Dexter Lawrence. So, I am out on Gordon this
25:33week. of those players. I'd like Addison this week, but maybe Dobs is a safer floor. Do safer floor. Addison has the
25:38most upside of the group.
25:40>> Yeah, I think you nailed it. I think that if we're if we're going to go with Addison and Dobs is a really interesting
25:46conversation, I'm probably going to lean with Jordan Addison. But like you said, Dobs, it's it's probably the the the the more pragmatic one. I would say if
25:55you're a underdog this week, um you're in a really tough matchup, roll with Addison. Um, and if you're a favorite and you just want to like have a safe
26:03play, let's go Romeo Dobs in that one.
26:06Um, here's another question.
26:08Need to figure out flex. This is full PPR. And this is a Thursday uh Thursday decision. Bucky Irving or Stfan Diggs.
26:18Bucky Irving last week conceded a receiving touchdown to Kenneth Gainwell and a rushing touchdown to Shawn Tucker.
26:25And you got Jaylen Daniels rushing for 50 plus yards. It's a nightmare upon nightmare for Bucky Irving. The the touches are going to Irving, but the
26:35high value touches went to the other two backs.
26:38>> And then you've got Stfon Diggs at home in a game that we think could trend over getting Jaden Daniels back. Diggs has a
26:44number of receiving touchdowns.
26:46>> I'm probably going Diggs here and avoiding Bucky Irving tonight.
26:50>> 100% agree with that right now. Bucky Irving. Jaylen Daniels, you point of him running. I don't think he's the guy to
26:55check it down. I think he's the guy to call his own number because he's still learning the game. The game's going
26:59really fast for him and that's not good.
27:00So yeah, Stefan Diggs.
27:03>> Okay, we're down bad here. This is from Lou. Uh start two. Omarian Hampton, Emanuel Wilson or Brilan Allen. Omar and
27:11Hampton. It was like a miracle touchdown last week where >> uh the the Katon Mitchell and Kamani Vidal were running ahead of him. It's
27:18criminal the way that they're using Omar and Hampton right now. We saw it last year. There's there's I mean a lot of
27:24people are going to hold a lot of analysts feet to the fire about enthusiasm for Hampton this past offseason, but you put Hampton on a
27:31number of other teams. He's putting up huge fantasy numbers. It's there. I don't even know how to describe how how like it's like the opposite of what we
27:40thought for McDaniel in terms of the creativity of usage with with Hampton.
27:44And now you've got the problem with Keaton Mitchell kind of feels like his guy and then Kamani Vidal sort of feels
27:49like Jim Harbaugh's guy. So, it's like we've got this threeman backfield. So, I'm going Wilson and Brilen Allen over Amari and Hampton. It feels awful to say
27:59this, but I think I'm gonna go with Allen and Wilson here and bench Hampton.
28:04It's hard to argue with that because we have no idea what Hampton's role is.
28:08Maybe Hampton comes out and they decide we got to fix this, but maybe he's the third guy. I agree with you. You got to
28:13sit him right now.
28:14>> Tough, tough, tough scenes. Um, let's go with uh Vinnie's question. need two wide receivers and a flex. Okay, so this is
28:23let's let's first pick out the two wide receivers. You've got Carnell Tate was unbelievable last week. Uh you've got Keon Coleman, Luther Burden. And so
28:33we're picking two of those guys. Burden, Keon Coleman, Carnell Tate. I'm going to go with Luther Burden and I'm going to
28:41go with Carnell Tate. I love Keon Coleman this week, but it's really hard to sit Tate after that sort of elite
28:48performance last week. I think they've sort of it feels like a rational coaching decision, Jim, and not a one-off where they're like, we're
28:55completely limited. We've got to lean into our most talented offensive skill position player, even though it's a 21-year-old and this is it. I think Tate
29:03moving forward is like a a top 30 wide receiver who's going to put up spike weeks. Uh Burden, I think the the
29:10matchup could could trend towards him.
29:12It could be in a doomsday week, but I I feel pretty good about Burton. Um Keon Coleman was fantastic last week. We
29:19talked about him on the show, but I'm still leaning with the other two wide receivers. Uh here your thoughts?
29:24>> Yeah, Burton for sure. And the only problem with Tate is so Demo Ryan said he's taking play calling over on defense
29:31with Houston and I just can't see Tate and Cam Ward beating Stingley and Lasser. I I lasser been really good this
29:41year. I I just don't see Tate winning that. But here's your problem. Coleman needs DJ Moore to sit, which I don't
29:46know that he will because Coleman, all his productions come with no DJ Moore.
29:50Jawan Johnson has a nightmare matchup and Tayvon, who knows what his role is.
29:55So, you're probably right. The Tate's probably the floor play, but man, yeah, the matchups for your other players.
30:01Burden are just all contingent.
30:03>> Okay, so let we're coming away with Burden and Tate. So, we've got to do the flex. Let's do the flex here. Um, Keon
30:10Coleman. Let's just let's go Keon Coleman, Joan Johnson, Trayvon Henderson, and let's say for for argument sake, DJ Moore sits. Uh, for
30:18me, if DJ Moore sits, it's it's easily Keon Coleman. Easily. Um, so there we go. We're both we're both in agreement.
30:24Uh, shout out to Nikki Banks. No question. Just just want to send us some love. Appreciate that, Nikki. Uh, let's take Chris's
30:30question here. Flex full PPR. Brillan Allen, Emanuel Wilson, David Montgomery, or Jaylen Wadd? This is a this is a relatively champagne problem because
30:39he's got two running backs that we anticipate are going to have strong volume this week in Allen and Wilson.
30:45We're eliminating David Montgomery. Jim.
30:47Jim. Jim. We're eliminating him. We're not doing it. We're not doing it again.
30:51Okay. So, okay. So, it comes down to Jaylen Wadd versus two high volume plays in Brilen Allen and Emanuel Wilson.
30:57Chris, you don't need our help for this one. Just They're all pretty good plays.
31:01Which way are you leaning for this one, Jim? Let's go. Ceiling play.
31:04>> I'm going with Waddle. I I mean I I have to think Shawn Peyton had to step in this week and and the Chargers, they
31:09can't defend in the secondary. If they can't get it done this week, it's over.
31:14>> I think Wadd's a good buy low. I think people are getting really scared about Waddle. I had a buddy of mine sending me
31:19some text messages about potential trades that he's being offered for running backs and he's like, "I'm getting offered Wadd, but I really don't
31:26like him and I really don't trust him."
31:28I think I think it's sort of like just look at what Denver gave up for him this off season. We're only one month into
31:34the season. And with Waddle, we saw some of the production really pick up about this time last year. So, I'm gonna I'm
31:40gonna go with Waddle as well. We're going to keep our enthusiasm and our confidence when it comes to Wadd. Um here we go. Uh Tyler Shuck or Jameus
31:50Winston. We're going Shuck. We're going Shuck here.
31:53>> It's a horrible matchup and he is bad against the two high shell and the pressure at the same time. He's throwing
32:00like 50 times a game.
32:01>> So, Now, he heard his hand last week, his throwing hand on Monday night. And but that said, Winston, good luck. Good luck
32:10knowing to trust him when he doesn't put up a five for you. Shuck's going to get a floor for you if nothing else. You got
32:14to go, Chuck.
32:15>> Okay, so we we need Jim to talk somebody off a ledge here. Literally, the question is, talk me off of a ledge on
32:21Luther Burton rest of season outlook.
32:23>> So, look, the Bears are going to run a lot and but the schedule isn't going to be as easy as it's been, and the Bears
32:29have had a cupcake schedule so far. the Bears are going to have to throw and they're going to get Caleb Williams back
32:34and Luther Burton is being schemed open and he is a very important piece of that offense. So that said, his targets 5,71
32:42and six, but again some of those games have been very low volume. We've had the Minnesota rain game. We had the Jets
32:47game where they just ran down their throats. Burton isn't going to be this fantasy monster, but he is going to be a
32:53solid stabilizing force in your lineup.
32:56Maybe what you didn't want, but at the end of the day, you'll be happy with what you have.
32:59>> Okay. Now, now we're talking. This is talking my language cuz I do a a defensive screamers and I love talking
33:05kickers. Will Riker was like my guy in the preseason if you wait on kicker draft Will Riker and last week he had 19
33:13points in a lot of formats. He's got a huge leg. Um and this week they're indoors at New Orleans. But Cam Little
33:19is unbelievably talented and we know that I mean how cool would that be on a 9:30 in the morning on the East Coast to
33:25see Cam Little hit like a 70ard field goal in in London. Uh Cam Little or Will Riker for the kicker people out there.
33:32Jim, >> no. You do the kickers, man. Dude, I don't I don't do kickers. Go ahead.
33:36>> You know, Jim Jim will not participate in this one. So, I'm gonna go slight lean to Cam Little, but these are both
33:41rest of season. This is a great great problem to have. Just pick one and roll with them for the rest of the season. Um
33:47the one other one other like lean towards Will Reker is >> if you want to chase kickers, a lot of times it's the offenses that can move
33:54the ball but might not punch it in the end zone. with Kyler Murray. It's sort of like it long field goals for Riker
34:01where Cam Little when they get when the Jacksonville Jaguars get it inside the red zone. We're feeling pretty good about their ability to put touchdowns up
34:07on the board with Trevor Lawrence and all those good skill position players.
34:11Uh you will you'll take the defensive question though here.
34:14>> Broncos defense this week or or Jets defense?
34:18>> Man, how do you not go with the Broncos?
34:20Justin Herbert's a mess right now. Now the Broncos are down defensive backs, but it's so broken in Los Angeles. You just got to bet against the Chargers and
34:27just go with that.
34:30>> Yeah, I think I think that this is a this is close because I think that the game flow for the game flow for New York
34:36and Cleveland, you could end up with a dog fight that's like 1714. It just feels like one of those games is coming,
34:43especially with Cleveland being 3-1. The implied team total for the Browns is like 19. So, it's we I think the Browns
34:52probably get it done, but the oddsmakers are going in with the Jets in this one, and I think that would require an
34:57inspired defensive effort and also probably a lot of Brilan Allen. The pass volume stuff with like Garrett Wilson, Kenyan Sadique last week. Um, we might
35:07as well address that cuz we're talking about it. Last week was a dud for Garrett Wilson and then we had Kenyan
35:12Sadique coming off of a fantastic performance in week three. Gives you a goose egg. But Jim, I only ran like like
35:2030 something plays, like a low 30s plays. It feels like an aberration. Uh your thoughts on on what you saw last
35:26week from this Jets.
35:27>> Yeah, so the Bears are running the ball down their throats, controlling the clock, and they ran 32 offensive plays.
35:33They held the ball for 17 minutes. It was the third worst time of possession since, you know, the turn of the
35:38millennium. So that was a game. It was a weird game. You you throw that out.
35:42That's not a normal game script. Most teams run about 60 plays a game. the Jets on 32 plays. Nobody was going to
35:48produce on 32 plays.
35:51>> Quick a quick mention that this show and and all of our shows are brought to you by Better. That's BETR. If you're
35:57watching football, you want a little more action on the games, go check out Better. Make picks on your favorite players or jump into the Better
36:03Sportsbook for spreads, totals, and moneylines. It's all in one app. Uh here's a good one. Jared Goff versus Jaden Daniels this week. If Jaden
36:11Daniels can go easily Jared Goff though here, Jim Jared Goff might I mean you can make an argument for Jared Goff to
36:19be QB1 overall this week. That game feels like it could fly over. Um and we know Detroit can't stop anybody. So the
36:25game flow is going to be fantastic. Uh anything to add there?
36:29>> Arizona is a really good run defense, but Mandy can't stop the pass and they're not getting a lot of pressure.
36:33So yeah, Jaden Daniels, look, make it real simple. I don't know how the coaching staff doesn't tell him you can't run anymore. Now he didn't get
36:39hurt in a run play. He got stepped on his foot and but he couldn't even hold up his body when he fell to the ground.
36:44So, but they have to be telling him, "Dude, you can't run. Mario's hurt.
36:48Califian, whatever his name is, the guy from the hangover, Zack Galithinakis, maybe he was the quarterback, but anyway." Yeah. No, you can't play Jaden
36:55Daniels right now. Will he last a game?
36:57I I don't know.
36:58>> Khali McManis. Khali Mcmanis.
37:00>> Yeah, I know. I was having fun with Zack Cell if you >> Yeah, proper last name pronunciations here. We had uh I talked about this this
37:08past summer. Nobody wants to try to pronounce Greek names. We're going to pronounce them. I live on Long Island.
37:12Plenty plenty of Greek last names and I'm I'm very good at pronouncing Greek last names. So throw throw it in the
37:16chat if you're Greek and I'll pronounce your last name live on the air. Um, one other thing to mention, we have all
37:22access over at Rotoire, too. So if you want access to Jim and I throughout the week, uh, subscribe to Rotoire All
37:28Access. You can get in the Discord.
37:30We'll answer your questions pretty much anytime. I mean, what's your time limit, Jim? Do you answer like, you know, midnight question comes in? Do you get
37:36an alert? Do you wake up and start answering? Um, no, but you get access to Jim pretty much all week long and
37:41myself. Uh, and also for Dynasty managers, I'm answering your dynasty trade questions. I know a lot of you are trying to get uh dynasty trades done
37:49right now. What's your gut feel on DJ Moore though, Jim? Because you talked about you think he plays. Um, where are
37:56you at on this one?
37:57>> The coaches will have to tie him down for him not to play. DJ Moore is one of the toughest dudes in the NFL. The
38:03problem is he's been knocked out of two games in the first quarter with the injury and so is he recovering or not?
38:08He'll be out there starting. The the issue is if he gets dinged up. He made it through one game healthy. So that's
38:14going to be a problem. We don't know if he holds up, but he'll play. Um he'll be limited in practice. He'll have a no
38:19contact jersey on, but he'll play unless the coaches just make an executive decision, and I don't know if they'll do that.
38:27>> Okay, here's one for you. Dantavian Wixs got a lot of people in trouble last week in DFS. I had a DFS and and uh you know
38:35I don't mean to keep this is not like a RotoWire infomercial but also you got to check out all of our DFS tools over on
38:40the site. I took down a pretty big one last week. I was like number three. Um but one player I crammed into the lineup
38:47for cheap was Dantavian Wixs. So I sort of overcame one bad pick there. Um Wix, I can't trust him this week. Trey Harris
38:56or Dantavian Wix? I think I'm leaning with Trey Harris here and I think pretty easily they're going to be close enough
39:02in the rankings, but just the overall vibes. Last week we had Jaylen Herz with fewer than 100 passing yards and and two
39:10passing touchdowns went to Darius Cooper. So really bailed out Jaylen Herz were the touchdown catches by Cooper. I think it for me it's Trey Harris pretty
39:19easily just because of my lack of trust in the Philadelphia pass game right now.
39:23>> I mean Patrick Certan's out. Riley Moss has injured ribs. I I mean the secondary is not looking great right now. And this
39:29is funny, Theo. On the XM show last weekend, people were looking for an emergency flex player. I go play Darius Cooper. Now, the one touchdown was
39:36lucky, but that was the Philadelphia guy I was on. I was on Darius Cooper. I'm like, if Wix is the number one, well,
39:41good luck with that. If he's defended as a number one, he ain't winning that battle. But, um, Darius Cooper is a big
39:46dude in the red zone.
39:47>> Another Trey Harris uh question. Trey Harris versus Chris Godwin at Halfpoint PPR. We're recording this on Thursday morning. So if you're listening on the
39:55pod on a Friday, you can check us on this. I'm going Trey Harris over Chris Godwin in half PPR. I don't again talk
40:02about Jaylen Daniels. I know that there is sort of this potential boost against the Dallas Cowboys where Cowboys have been sort of generous, but this feels
40:10like a blowout for Dallas for me. Um and I don't necessarily see a Chris Godwin game. I'm going to go Trey Harris over
40:17Godwin fairly comfortably. How about you, Jim? Yeah. So last week, Jaylen Daniels, we learned one thing. They're not making him throw it downfield.
40:25They're making him throw short. So that meant seven targets for Godwin and Kate Dotton was the other guy that was involved. They were not involving
40:31anybody downfield. Dallas, they got Joey Porter. He'll be on a Bua most likely.
40:35And Godwin underneath's going to be open all day long. I I do like Godwin for volume. It was six for 31 last week, but
40:41again, if you're getting that kind of volume, I think he has a higher floor.
40:45>> Here's a question from Leo in the chat, and I think it's an interesting one. And I think a lot of people are going to
40:49sort of dismiss this one and laugh at it because R.J. Harvey put up a big number last week, but it still feels like
40:54they're trying to establish JK Dobbins in Denver. He's saying, who's the Bronco to play against the Chargers? Now, we think this is going to be a Broncos win.
41:03Does it lend itself towards JK Dobbins maybe having his breakout game of the season or do we continue to ride the hot
41:09hand with RJ Harvey, especially with his pass catching ability? I'm going Harvey.
41:14Um, and I actually feel pretty good about Harvey right now. I know that this was a player that a lot of us were
41:19apprehensive about this summer, but looks like a big part of this offense and was very impressive last week. So, I'm going RJ Harvey here over Dobbins.
41:30Where are you at on this one?
41:31>> Look, I think the injuries caught up to JK Dobbins. Broke. This is the Rotoire advanced stats page. Broken tackle rate
41:3723 percentile. Uh yards after contact 32nd percentile. They have a great offensive line. Dobbins is not even getting you three yards a carry barely.
41:45three and a half, three and a half yards a carry and he's not getting any any work in the red zone. He's useless. RJ
41:51Harvey, look, they can't throw him the ball 10 times. They will lose every game if they throw him the ball 10 times.
41:55They got to fix that now. But he's way more valuable than JK Dobbins, who basically looks like, like I said, injuries caught up to him.
42:03>> Don't Denver, don't listen to Jim Coventry. I want you to continue to throw the ball to R.J. Harvey 10 times a
42:09game for my R.J. Harvey [laughter] bags.
42:11It helps me out a lot, especially in my PPR league. Don't listen to that Coventry guy. Yo, we got Steven M in the
42:16chat. Morning goats. Appreciate that. 12 team halfpoint PPR. Jameson Williams. Uh JO against it says versus Minnesota. I
42:27think that's JMO against Arizona here.
42:29Just a typo. Um or Casey Conpsion against the Jets. Uh so we're going to go uh Jameson Williams or Casey Conpsion
42:38here. J Mo, it's a JMO week against Arizona here. Jim, your thoughts? Yeah, Conpsion is getting targets, but he's not putting up much more than real real
42:47baseline PPR points and so he is like just a flex and that's all. J Mo hasn't been great. I said last week, I told you
42:55he'd go off last week. He did. I explain why. J Mo at least has more ceiling than Conpsion. He He's just kind of like a
43:02short area guy. So, you got to go with J Mo here.
43:04>> And then we've got another question uh from Stephen. It's a different team. Uh, Jacobe Meyers or excuse me, uh, Dante
43:12Myers. Dante Meyers. If the, let's assume T. Higgins and Jamar Chase are out. So, Dante Meyers, Matthew Golden, or Brian Robinson, who had three
43:22touchdown uh, rushes on Monday Night Football, but Jim, we've talked about Brian Robinson a couple times. I mean, the guy's getting 10 plus touches every
43:30week, and they're using him to keep uh, Bejon fresh.
43:35And this team's MO is run the football and stop the run and then get the ball to Drake London on on pretty much all
43:41pass attempts. So, uh, this is a viable question. It's still Matthew Golden for me here, though. Matthew Golden I would lean with.
43:49>> Yeah.
43:51>> No, you're totally right. Matthew Golden has been fantastic for what you paid for him this year. You can't argue with
43:57every game. PPR points. The worst is a 9.8. He's got an 11, a 21, and a 15.
44:02That's a floor. That is a great floor and you can't. And the Bears, look, I get it. Like Theo, you said earlier, the
44:08numbers for the Bears are great. The Bears corners do not match up well with Golden and Watson. They should do fine
44:15here.
44:16>> Um, we're getting uh comments in the chat about the weather coming to Pittsburgh this week. So, we're going to go ahead and check those weather
44:23reports. Make sure you're tuning in live on RotoWire Live on Sunday mornings with Jim Coventry. Jim, you talk a little bit
44:29of weather early Sunday mornings, don't you? And that's is that's the earliest you really want to talk about it. I mean, I know you got to make lineup
44:36decisions on Thursday, some of you, but weather changes. We see 100% chance of rain and then it's dry the whole game.
44:42You cannot count on weather. If you know a hurricane, you're in a direct line of a hurricane, then guess what? The NFL
44:47will cancel that game. So, but you got to wait till game day. If you got a Thursday decision, sorry, but weather,
44:54you can't make a decision on Thursday for Sunday.
44:57>> Okay. Marvin Harrison Jr., Is he a start this week? We're chasing that Arizona Detroit game a ton. Are we also chasing
45:06it with Marvin Harrison Jr. this week?
45:08In the pre-show, the two of us were talking Michael Wilson, Trey McBride. We haven't had any questions about them because everybody's starting them, but
45:16Marvin Harrison Jr. is the one Arizona Cardinal where people are sort of apprehensive, but they're chasing the game flow here.
45:23>> No, he has three one five and four targets and their quarterback's throwing the ball all over the yard. No, he he's
45:29I I was in on Marvin Harrison going into the season. I thought there was no way they wouldn't make him a catch and run
45:34guy. They didn't do that. They put him in the same role he was under with Drew Petting. And that is the wrong role.
45:39It's not working. And Jacobe Brassette already has a connection from last year with Wilson with McBride. I love Harrison. Unless he goes somewhere else,
45:48it ain't happening.
45:50>> Here's an interesting one. This is from Sam in the chat. Emanuel Wilson or TJ Hawinson. And it's in tight end premium.
45:57So, let's assume FFPC style 1.5 point.
46:01>> That's a great question. That's a great question. I still think >> and it's really hard to get away from these tight ends and tight end premium,
46:08but I think Wilson's going to have we've had two out of the last three weeks where Wilson's had 20 plus touches. I'm
46:14chasing the touches this week and going with Emanuel Wilson sort of apprehensively over TJ Hawinson after like a career game. Your thoughts?
46:23>> I will just say this. Don't be surprised if Zack Charbanet is active and if he's active he's playing some and that will
46:30to directly cut into Wilson. So if Charbanet is active play Hawinson. If they hold back Charbanet one more week play Wilson.
46:37>> Uh we've got a Brock Pery or Bo Nicks question. We talked about both. It's pretty.
46:45>> It's always pretty. Look, Boon Knicks may have a game here and there. Bicks, I've been saying this for years. He's a
46:51terrible, terrible quarterback who's gotten by for some some fantasy points over the years. He is not good. He has not been reliable for fantasy. You have
46:59no idea what you're getting from play to play with him. And maybe the coaches, you know, throw a great game, but here
47:05are his fantasy points. 10, 19, 24, and 15. That's one acceptable game out of four. And I get it. The Chargers are the
47:13Chargers. I do not trust him at all.
47:16>> Yeah, it's been really, really rough sledding for Knicks this year. Um, and Party's Perty, I think, like just just start Perty every single week, right?
47:24Um, he's and we already like had the two touchdown performance against Denver.
47:28It's almost like the fantasy football gods are leaning into Brock Party's direction. We got that late touchdown to George KD that helped KD, helped Pertie.
47:36Things are just going the way. And the stat that's amazing is San Francisco hasn't allowed one sack all year. Denver is second, I believe, in fewest sacks
47:45allowed, but San Francisco by a high margin is one. Um, people are criticizing your sleep schedule, Jim.
47:51Let set the record here. Are you a 5 hour, 6 hour, 7 hour, 8 hour a night guy? What's a sleep schedule look like
47:59for Jim Coventry?
48:00>> I'm a 61year-old dude. I get my sleep. I do. But I'm efficient when I'm awake.
48:05That's the key. It's full efficiency when I'm on No, I sleep I sleep seven and a half hours a night. get to the gym
48:11first thing in the morning. But no, I'm I'm just so efficient with my time when I work. I just get more done than I
48:18should in a regular workday.
48:20>> We're learning something new about Jim Coventry each and every week here on the show. We learned that he's a big Lou
48:24Maladis deep dish guy. So, we're assuming it's it's it's 8 hours of sleep, then it's a nice little gym in the morning, and then maybe post-workout
48:33Lou Maladis. He's the first guy in the door at like 10 a.m. There you go. There you I ain't as ripped as Theo, but I'm
48:39doing my best for a 61y old. Dude, I saw you at the expo a couple years ago and I'm like, "Dude, you look like Lorenzo
48:45Neil, man."
48:46>> I have I have my I have my moments. I have my moments. Here we we got one other question here. Um we'll take a few
48:52more. We usually go about an hour here.
48:54Uh we're trying to get to everyone's questions. Again, if we don't get to your questions, you know, the the best way to get access to all of our rankings
49:01on the week is a Rotoire subscription.
49:04Jim and I are putting our flex rankings up every single week and we're also putting our quarterback rankings up. And then if you want to level it up, Rotoire
49:12All Access, you could access Jim and I you can send us direct questions on the Discord. I know a lot of you are in
49:18trade leagues. We've got you covered. Uh come check out rotoire.com. And then if we missed your question here and you want to get it answered live, you also
49:26can jump into gym show on Sunday mornings. Make sure you check that one out. Uh, this is a fun one because we
49:33had Tucker Craft having like a big bounceback performance last week and then we have Jawan Johnson. Uh, so this is Craft at tight end. Oh no, he's
49:43saying, oh, excuse me, I misread this question. So he's starting Tucker Craft.
49:47So it's a flex question. Keon Coleman, Romeo Dobs, or do you go with a second tight end in Jawan Johnson?
49:54>> So for me it's easy. If DJ Moore somehow is ruled out, then it's Coleman easily.
49:59If DJ Moore plays, you can't assume he's getting knocked out in the first quarter again. So, you go Romeo Dobs. Joan
50:04Johnson, love him. Loved him for years.
50:06Rostered him last year and nobody liked him. But they're playing Minnesota and I'm not optimistic. So, again, Dobs unless DJ Moore is out, then you go
50:14Coleman.
50:16>> Here's a question uh in the chat. Who is the Commander running back to start?
50:21Again, this is a game where you get Jaden Daniels back. You have Jaka Krosky Merritt who was unbelievably disappointing last week. Um and a lot of
50:30people were excited about JCM because Rashad White was out. They signed Austin Eckler off the street off the couch or wherever he was. Eckler was probably in
50:38the gym lifting and running on a treadmill like but they signed Austin Eckler. People anticipated that it would be a big JCM performance. He looked
50:46terrible against Indianapolis. Eckler had some decent usage for a guy at his first week there. I think people don't know how to approach this running back
50:55room and they have optimism that things are going to look a lot better with Jaden Daniels back. Are you looking to
51:02use JCM or are you like this could be a potential Eckler week?
51:07>> Well, if Rashad White is healthy and he's practicing, it's Rashad White all day. I told you before the season, Rashad White is a dude in that offense.
51:13And with Jaden Daniels hurt, they're going to have to dump the ball off. And Austin Eckler's like fine little story.
51:20But we had Rashad White with 14 and 11 PPR points in week two against Dallas and week three against Seattle. Yeah,
51:26against Seattle. 8 for 35 on the ground against Seattle. That's awesome. And then he caught a six-y touchdown pass.
51:31Rashad White's a player in that offense and he's going to be utilized. Eckler might cut a little bit in. I don't think
51:37it's sign. They they sought out Rashad White in free agency. They could have sought out Eckler at any time.
51:42>> Yeah, let's keep an eye on Rashad White because again, we're recording this on Thursday morning. We're going to see um
51:47just how how ramped up he is on Thursday and Friday. Um if Rashad White sits again, Jim, which way would you go
51:56>> Eckler? Okay, there we go. So, JCM, we're just complete fade right now. I'm I agree with you right now. It's just
52:01things look terrible. Um >> Isaiah Likely or Tyler Warren? Likely had a ton of targets last week. I'm going Tyler Warren here. Uh which way
52:10are you going?
52:11>> Yeah, Tyler Warren. It's just a bankable weekly volume for him. Pittsburgh, I I I'm not enamored with their tight end
52:18defense. I think Warren will be schemed open to get the ball likely. Again, he has good upside. I just think this is a
52:24just Warren is safer.
52:26>> All right, we're going to go rapid fire and try to answer a bunch of these in the next eight minutes or so. Uh quick
52:31thoughts on Antonio Williams.
52:34>> Really game plan dependent injuries but other players. You when when McLaren's in, you can't play them. Yeah, when McLaren's in, you definitely can't play
52:42him. He did have a a long long long touchdown called back last week, which was incredibly tilting. Would have been like an 80 yard. Um, this is from Vlad.
52:51Love your guys content. Appreciate that, Vlad. And if you're enjoying the show, make sure you hit the subscribe button to the YouTube channel. Um, and hit that
52:58like button. And if you're listening on the podcast, give us a fivestar rating on Apple or Spotify. It doesn't cost you
53:04anything. It helps us out a ton. Love your content. Amarian Hampton or Harvey.
53:09And then the second question was Coloulston Lovelin or Kenyan Sadique. So I'm RJ Harvey over Ararian Hampton this week in the head-to-head matchup. And
53:18then I'm Colston Lovelin over Kenyon Sadi. Lovelin had nine targets last week. Tackled on the one yard line in week three. Things are looking better
53:27for Lovelin than they certainly were in the disaster weeks of week one and two.
53:31Are you on the same start sits here?
53:33>> Yeah, no need to expound further. I'm with you on that on both of them.
53:37>> Okay, here's one for you. We've got Trevor Lawrence or Jacobe Brassette this week. And this is another Champagne problem. But which way are you uh going?
53:47Brassette uh had three picks last week, but this feels like a great spot for him. Top 10 ranked quarterback this week
53:54against Detroit. Everyone's feasting against Detroit. And then you've talked about the merits of Trevor Lawrence over and over again. Which way are you going
54:01here? The talented c the really talented quarterback um or are you going to go with the fantastic matchup? If you're an
54:07underdog, you got to play Brassette for the upside. Theo, you said it earlier.
54:10Maybe Lawrence doesn't have to throw a lot. Lawrence is safer. He has a higher reliable floor. He'll get you a decent
54:15game. Brassette can boom or bust. You can get the three interceptions any week, but you can get four touchdowns and 300 yards. So, just if you want to
54:22gamble as Brassette.
54:24>> Yeah, I think you use Brassette in DFS this week. I think it's a really strong DFS play. I think a lot of people are
54:30going to be chasing the Jared Goff side of that matchup, but I think you can go Brousett and you could cram in your Jir
54:35Gibbs, cram in your Aman Ross Staint Brown on that bring back and you could stack Brassette. This just turned into a
54:41DFS show. You could stack Michael Wilson, you can you can stack Trey McBride, just chase that game a little bit. I think it could be the highest
54:48scoring game of the week. Uh Amecha Ibuka or Rome Adun. I'm going Roma Dunce. Again, this is apologies to the podcast crowd if you're listening on
54:56Friday. Um, but I'm going Roma Dunes in this one over Ibuka. I just don't trust anything about Tampa Bay right now. Even
55:02though technically technically it could be a get-right spot against Dallas. I just can't trust it. I think I low-end wide receiver three. Odun just a much
55:12higher ceiling with Begent behind center.
55:14>> Yeah, and we've seen Odun six and seven targets in the last two. Theo completely out in Abuka, not even wide receiver
55:20three. Jaylen Daniels didn't push it down fields. It's a short week, so there's no like great game plan coming up here. And Joey Porter probably spends
55:28a lot of time in Ibuka. That's a window that Jaylen Daniels is not throwing into.
55:32>> Yeah, it's I was down bad on my trade show this week. Anybody who followed my content, especially like July, Ibuka was
55:38like my guy in July. I was so excited about the way that the season was going to play out for him. Then we had the
55:43injuries in the preseason. Now we've got the injuries to Baker. It could not have gone any worse in terms of a run out for
55:49Ibuka.
55:50>> Adun feels like a buy low right now.
55:52Like you said, the target volume is consistent. eventually get back Caleb Williams and Bean I think is just good.
55:58I think Bee's going to have a game at some point. Um down bad at running back.
56:03Would you consider Oh, this is a trade question. Josh DS to trade for a Woody Jordan Mason or a Woody Marks. Um so
56:10basically make this a Josh DS takeaway from you, Jim. DS was sort of like an industry plant last week. All these guys
56:16sort of talking up Josh D, how he's going to have this amazing game and then big disappointment. Um, but I'm still on
56:22Josh DS versus these two running backs.
56:25I would wait for a better performance from DS if I was going to try to trade him to upgrade. Mason would interest me
56:30more even though he's on the IRG.
56:32>> Um, because of how successful Aaron Jones has been in this offense.
56:36>> Agreed that if you're going to go for one, it would be Mason, but I think you got to be able to get more for Josh
56:40Downs. I told people last week the Colts were going to run the football. It wasn't going to be a big game through
56:44the air. They were never going to have to do that.
56:47>> Okay, we'll go real rapid fire here.
56:49Couple more.
56:51Brilan Allen, Mike Evans, Michael Mayer, Dante Meyers, assuming that everyone sits, David Montgomery or Alvin Kamara.
56:58Luis, I think you got like five questions answered. I But you got this one late, so we'll give you one more.
57:03Brillin, Mike Evans, Michael Mayer, Dante Myers, David Montgomery, or Alvin Kamara. Pick one.
57:09>> I like Evans here. You can attack the outside corners and he's big. Evans size is an advantage here. They can use that.
57:15They didn't have that last year against Seattle.
57:16>> Yeah, Evans played banged up last week and was tackled at the one yard line. It could have been a much bigger week for
57:21him. It's It's Mike Evans. Um and like you said, I think they're going to have to use his size and physicality against
57:27Seattle. Number two in this again, check back with with Jim on Sunday morning.
57:32Right now, the number two option would be Brillin Allen. I think that the this week's going to look a lot better for
57:36him in a it's kind of a uh you know, a very slight favorite, but the Jets are favored against the Browns. It feels
57:44like a spot where they're going to have to lean into Allen at least for a lot of volume. Carnell Tate or Roma Dun?
57:50>> Odun. And it's not closed. Carnell Tate's playing Houston. Houston. Look, I told you the coach took it the play over
57:57Demetry. They're gonna The defense is going to be nasty with him this week.
58:01>> Yeah, I'm going to go Adun as well. Full point PPR. Omaran Hampton, Keenan Allen, or TJ Hawinson. TJ Hawinson. I'm going
58:10TJ Hawinson here.
58:12>> Yeah, I will say one thing about Keenan Allen. He puts in a full practice on Friday, he will be a PPR floor. I if
58:19Justin Jefferson's back, that does put a ding on Hawk. But otherwise, right now today, it's Hawinson.
58:25>> Okay. Dalton Concincaid or Coloulston Lovelin this week. I'm going Daltton King.
58:30>> Yeah, King Kaid. Like I said, Joe Brady knew he made a mistake last week. He'll overcorrect that this week.
58:36>> One quick trade question. selling Chase Brown for uh Cam Scataboo and Devont Smith. Good trade or not, I'm keeping Chase Brown here. I feel fantastic about
58:47the way the things are are headed for with Chase Brown. He's been utilized in an elite way as a receiver. The rushing
58:54volume has been uh up and down and the touchdowns have been very unlucky, but he's in this sort of elite role and it's
59:01an offense that we can trust versus question marks in New York and question marks in Philadelphia. So, Chase Brown, this is not a two for one that I would
59:10be looking to make if I had Chase Brown.
59:12>> Agreed. But the only way you make this trade is if you have a hole at wide receiver that really can't be fixed. And
59:19in w in which case, you getting a running back and a receiver fixes that hole. You take a downgraded run back.
59:25That's the only way you consider it.
59:26Otherwise, on its face, like Theo said, Chase Brown is the side to have. Roman Wilson, Mike Jeki, Marshon Lloyd, Raandre Stevenson, or Coloulston
59:36Lovelin? We're picking one player here.
59:39Loveland, Mandre, Jaseki, Lloyd, Roman Wilson. We'll eliminate Marshon Lloyd here. Um, Mandre, Loveland, Jaseki, or Roman Wilson. Wilson's had six targets
59:51every single week, which is so weird, but he's playing really, really well.
59:54He's had touchdowns in back-to-back weeks. Jeki like Dante Meyers. Um Jaseki is averaging 11 points per game right now and he's got a potential spike week
60:05with both of those wide receivers potentially sitting. Jaseki is like this slot you talked about a lot Jim. He's their big slot wide receiver, super
60:12athlete, familiarity with Joe Burrow.
60:15>> I I I I I feel really good about things, but I also we talked about Lovelin. Um the utilization is looking better.
60:21You've talked about Mandre. This is a tough tough choice here. So if Marandre plays, he is the safest floor. But again, the other question comes down to
60:30if Chase or Higgins are out, every one of those being out moves Gasiki up. If both of them are out, Gassiki wins his
60:37hands down. If one of them is out, Raandre is ahead of him. I think Loveland, if if Higgins or Chase plays,
60:43I think Lovelin's still ahead of Gassiki here.
60:46>> All right, we're going to go real rapid fire. I'm going to try to get like five and then we're out. Jaylen Daniels or
60:50Justin Herbert?
60:52>> Herbert.
60:53>> Herbert. I'm going Herbert, too. I mean, just gross that that it's so gross. We have to answer that question.
60:58Yeah. Jaden Daniels or Jaylen Herz. Six point passing touchdown. Jaden Daniels.
61:03>> Jaden Daniels.
61:04>> Easy. Easy. This week, >> Tyler Algier or JK Dobbins. Full point PPR.
61:11>> I'm going Tyler Algier there, Jim.
61:13>> Yeah, the floor is zero, but better chance of scoring a touchdown than Dobbins.
61:18>> We get a shout out. People are listening from England. Shout out to to our international listeners. Love that.
61:24>> Uh sell Rossi Rice for Michael Wilson.
61:28I'm doing that trade. I love >> it now. Run run run run to your browser.
61:32Click yes. Turn your phone on.
61:34>> Yeah. I feel like that's one where the guy who thinks he's like pulling a fast one because he's got Rashi Rice on a
61:39like like I I feel like Michael Wilson clearly ahead of Rashi Rice right now with that utilization. Go for it >> real quick. Rashi Rice is if you're if
61:48you have him on your roster, get rid of him now. A, he has an injury, but B, he is not in the same role he was in the
61:54past couple years. It was a high volume catch, quick catch against zone and run.
62:00They run the ball now. He's only going to get five, six targets a game. He's not getting 10, 12 anymore. Those days
62:05are gone.
62:06>> Yeah. The the Rashi Rice hive hates it when you criticize him. I I Jacob Gibbs and I do a show every week and Gibbs has
62:14been sort of like you, Jim, trying to sell Rashi Rice, diminishing expectations. people just come at him for for that one. But hey, man, you got
62:22an opportunity right now with Rice. Uh you make make the make the trade. Get rid of him. Like Jim said, it's a way
62:29different offense right now in Kansas City. The explosive plays are back in KC. Jim, the explosive plays are back in Taquan Thornton. Dude,
62:37>> I like I had him on some rosters. Poor Taquan Thornton.
62:40>> Yeah, I'm rostering a little bit of Cyrus Allen through the bye-week, seeing if he takes that Thornton role. Uh interesting player in the preseason.
62:47Flex. Is there a chance that Jaylen Royals gets into that too?
62:50>> Yeah, Jaylen. I had him in the Waverwire column. And then you've also got the >> Tyreek Hill hanging over everybody,
62:55which would be the that we want that for content for sure. I I I added a little bit of speculative T Tyreek Hill. I had
63:02him in the I had him in my top 10 in my in my Waverwire article at Roto Wire, too. Um Ali Gordon, RJ Harvey, or Josh
63:09DS in the flex this week.
63:11>> It's going to be downs for me. Um for the floor, Harvey is going to be your boom bus. They keep throwing the ball
63:17all day and they forget everybody else.
63:18That's fine. Ali Gordon, it's a nightmare match up. When Dexter Lawrence on the field, you don't run inside on them.
63:23>> Keon Coleman or Debo Samuel leaning Coleman if DJ Moore is out. But if DJ plays, go Debo. I think you nailed it.
63:30You nailed it, Stressy. There's nothing.
63:32You don't need our help for that one. N um um Jay Jay from England.
63:37>> Um great show as always. Can you help with my two flex spots? Kyle Manangi, Juell Robinson, Brian Thomas, uh Jr. or
63:45Ronda Gadson if lad is out. Manongi is easily one of them. So we're looking at Wandell, BTJ or Ronda Gadson.
63:54>> So the one who has a floor it might be four points is Wandelle. The other ones don't necessarily have that.
64:00>> Yeah. And the BTJ play they where he had the touchdown last week. Uh Parker Washington was the the first read and
64:07they double teamed him. BTJ was fortunate to get the touchdown. So we're not going to be chasing that again. I agree with and I you can't trust Orande.
64:16Um so I think it's Juan Del Robinson begrudgingly but hey go check your Jay go check your waiverwire and see if
64:22Dante Meyers is available. I'd rather start start Dante Myers >> or Jasiki and I' I'd rather start Roman Wilson and these guys are are on a lot
64:31of on a lot of wires. Last one here.
64:34Let's pick one good one and then we're we're out of here. Make sure again uh you're checking out Jim on Sunday
64:39mornings >> Franklin too. Sorry.
64:41>> Troy Franklin. That's Troy is an interesting one cuz Sutton Sutton's looked terrible and now he got the Pat Bryan injury. Um here's a fun one. We'll
64:49end it on this one. Michael Mayer or Brenton Strange in PPR this week.
64:54Michael Mayer the last two weeks has actually scored better with Brock Bowers out on the field. We saw them go to a
65:00lot of heavy 12 um last week when Jaylen Naylor got hurt, but I feel like it's people are dismissing Mayor. I think he
65:07could be way more consistent than some people uh think, but for me, it's still Brentton Strange in this head-to-head argument. Where are you at on this tight
65:15end decision?
65:16>> Just understand that Liam Cohen knew how bad the Cincinnati defense was against the tight end and they made him the
65:23focal point of the passing game. Other than that, you had three fantasy points, six fantasy points in two prior weeks.
65:29Honestly, I think that Strange is kind of chasing. Who was the other player?
65:32Theo, you took it off the screen. I don't remember now.
65:34>> No, just two. Mayor versus Strange.
65:36Mayor. I think Mayor actually gets more targets than Brentton Strange, but Strange is a higher ceiling because he could be active in the red zone.
65:44>> Trying to see if there's one more good question here. Um, guys, I we answered so many of them, but we are an hour in.
65:50Jim Jim and I both have to go write articles and get content done. Um, big shout out to the chat for being so live.
65:57Uh, really really appreciate how active you guys are. If you want to upgrade your fantasy game for the rest of the
