0:04Week three fantasy football start sit decisions. I'm Theo Greinger joined as always by Jim Coventry. We're rocking and rolling here in in week three. Jim,
0:14lot of fantasy managers are tilting out.
0:17We got to get this win. A lot of injuries out there in the streets, but hey, we're going to we're going to keep
0:22on rocking. One player who we have a lot of confidence in after week two is Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes was drafted as
0:30a QB2 in so many leagues and he was falling and dropping throughout the summer. Looks like the Chiefs and Mahomes have their swagger back
0:38completely. Kenneth Walker looks completely unstoppable, but it's hard to ignore what what Mahomes has been able to accomplish himself. 382 passing yards
0:48and three touchdowns against the Colts in week two. Now he's facing off against arguably the worst secondary in the NFL in the Miami Dolphins. How high are you
0:57on Mahomes this week?
0:59>> Yeah, Mahomes it's been incredible to see this this whole thing shake out. I did not think Andy Reid would ever go to
1:06like basing his offense in a run game, but the fact that he's done that now it's insane because right now this is a
1:13balanced offense and Patrick Mahomes hasn't had that in years and defenses could always just drop players back and you know give tighten his windows up.
1:22Now you can't do that. Kenneth Walker's wrecking defenses and that allows Patrick Mahomes to just be an incredible weekly play. And this week, Patrick
1:32Mahomes, he's playing Miami. Now, the only issue is if the run game gets so good early and they do what the 49ers
1:41did to Miami and they get out to a 21- nothing lead early, there is a world where Mahomes doesn't have to do a lot
1:47here. That said, he's a borderline top five quarterback this week because again, there's a little bit of concern with how much he has to throw here
1:56because I'm telling you, Miami is not scoring points against a human being defense this year.
2:02>> Miami is is a is a disaster. And I was having a a conversation with somebody else who's in the industry about how
2:09they're not even running Malik Willis.
2:11There's a little bit of like throwing the towel in. I'm still in on trading for my guy Devon Achan because the usage
2:18is incredible and the and the the the schedule does ease up, but it doesn't ease up this week. This feels like an
2:24utter beatdown. This feels like Kansas City sort of regaining their posture as like the top of the food chain in the
2:30AFC. And I think Jim, you nailed it where it the Kenneth Walker has done so much for this offense. We could have had
2:37this conversation about Travis Kelce who also looks really really good right now completely back, but it's like Patrick Mahomes is is a is a way to get access
2:46to this offense. And if you drafted Mahomes potentially as your QB2 or if you just waited on quarterback, you're feeling fantastic about the way things
2:55are going and you know, no way to uh to look at injuries, but you avoided the the landmines of now Jaden Daniels and
3:02Jackson Dart with the injuries. Where are we at on the replacements here? Just a quick aside, if you if you're in a in
3:10a real bind and you're in a league where everybody's rostered and you had to go with one of those quarterbacks who's one
3:15of the replacements, who's in store for a better uh week three and who's in store for a better next few weeks?
3:23>> Jamus Winston or Mariota?
3:25>> Yeah, Marcus Mariota has been interesting because he's taken over for Daniels for like six or seven games and he's had bad matchups. It's weird. I
3:34don't know how he gets it done and I don't know if defenses take him seriously and maybe that helps, but he
3:40somehow gets you fantasy points every week. He sneaky runs for 30 yards. He always could run for a touchdown. He's got weapons. He's got, you know, diggs
3:49to go with McLaren, Antonio Williams, and the scream. He could dump the ball off and Seattle. Yeah, rotten rotten matchup. Seattle's going to have a big
3:57lead. Seattle's probably not. They might have backups in the game at some point.
4:02Mariota is the guy to start. I don't know how he does it. I wish I could quantify it and that's my job, but he
4:07just does. I cannot tell you how and why he'll do it, but he will. He'll get you some fantasy points.
4:13>> Jimus Winston, it feels like a complete trap for people just shoving him in the lineup this week. It's a the home game
4:19against Tennessee. It feels like a slugfest type game. I wouldn't be surprised if this is like a 13-7 type game and both teams try to run the ball
4:28against one another and there's like literally no fantasy value. I do wonder in the back of my mind is could we see
4:34Harbaugh sort of it it seems like there's a a chasm between his enthusiasm for Cam Scataboo and like the the attitude Scataboo has. Does this injury
4:45sort of force him into using Scataboo a little bit more? Maybe. We'll keep an eye on that one. He has no choice, Theo.
4:52And you're you you're spot on. They if they don't involve Scataboo now and get these other lessers out of the way, they
4:59got to take their chances of him getting hurt because they need him badly. The offensive line is better than people think. They need to run the ball and
5:07they need to do counterculture to the NFL. It makes no sense to go three receivers, but they need to try to
5:13spread out the defense a little bit and they can't do that with condensed formations. And I know they have Patrick Ricard, but if they have no credible
5:19passing attack defense, they're just going to match with base defense. and an extra body. So, they actually need to do the counterculture, but Scataboo screen
5:28passes, Scataboo running to the outside, which he can. They have to lean on him or their season because their defense can be decent. They have talent now.
5:37They had some injuries last week, but they have to lean on Scataboo. If they don't, they're nuts.
5:42>> A quick mention that this show is brought to you by Better. Fantasy football is about making the right calls, and Better gives you another way
5:49to put your fantasy football knowledge to work. Make your picks, get in on the action, and make every game more exciting with better. Check out better
5:57today. And and Jim, we're not going to take too many I we take too many questions about Thursday. And you know,
6:03this this show is, you know, the YouTube based early, but then we have to put a little respect into the podcast
6:09audience. A lot of them are going to listen to this on a Friday. So, we won't take too many Thursday questions, but
6:13we've got um C um we've got I think this is Raul, if I'm reading his name uh correctly in the in the chat. Christian
6:22Watson or Parker Washington. This is what we call a champagne problem. I can't believe you're asking this. Start either one of these guys. They're both
6:28like top 25. If you had to split hairs, who's got the better potential ceiling outcome? Watson tonight against Atlanta or Parker Washington against the New
6:37England Patriots? I'm going Watson here, Jim. just because I think Watson's like a weapon of mass destruction. Washington probably gets you your 18 points or so.
6:47Watson could go for anywhere between 15 and 30. Yeah, AJ Terrell's out and that's their best corner and they got a
6:54rookie on the other side and so they can't run. Green Bay cannot run the football. The problem is the offensive line, but guess what? We recommended
7:02Bryce Young last week because Atlanta can't rush the passer. So that's no problem for for Jordan Love. So now we'll see Watson has a great shot. You
7:10can't go wrong with either one of those two. But yeah, Christian Watson because of the Atlanta defense in particular, that would be the way to look at it.
7:18>> And we'll ask one more Thursday question. JC Reyes in the chat says, uh, Theo and Jim, should we start? This is
7:25another champagne problem. Tucker Craft against Atlanta tonight or Daltton Schultz against the Colts this week. And and I'll say this is one where uh Tucker
7:36Craft I I I write this article comes out today on on RotoWire. Um things fantasy managers need to know and I talked about
7:42sort of the target consolidation that we're anticipating in Green Bay. Uh guys like uh guys like John Smith are going to get more snaps, but Tucker Craft,
7:51Matthew Golden, Christian Watson, it should be really fantasy friendly with no Jaden Reed. But that being said, I'm starting Daltton Schultz. How can you go
7:59away from Daltton Schultz after last week? Uh Daltton Schultz, this was like found money for fantasy managers. A lot of people drafted him as their tight
8:06end, too. I recommended him in the streamers show last week and Schultz went crazy. I think he goes does well again this week. We have to sort of
8:15adjust our expectations. He's not getting like 12 catches. But I think Schultz finishing as a top five tight end again this week is a good one. Craft
8:22over the next six weeks, it's Craft, but this week it's Daltton Schultz.
8:27>> So Tucker Craft does not look the same this year. I watched the film. He does not have that same explosive level after
8:34the catch. Now, I don't know if he's still working his way back from the ACL.
8:36I know he was cleared. I know he's been cleared for over a month, but he doesn't look quite as spry. But again, Green Bay
8:44can't run the ball. And they have to they really have to think start thinking. I know Matt Lur wants to be
8:48balanced. You cannot be balanced.
8:50Marshon Lloyd, Caleb Johnson, they cannot run the ball. And they fumble.
8:54So, we're going to see a lot more passes here. And the other side though, I want you to know this. I pushed Dalton Schulz
9:00hard last weekend. Why? A, Nico Collins was out and B, he'll be out again. But here's the problem. They played Cincinnati and Theo, don't forget this.
9:08Remember how many tight ends had a 100 yards against Cincinnati last year because their linebackers cannot run.
9:13They cannot cover. This is a trend for years. And Dalton Schultz will hit a perfect storm. Now, he has a good
9:19matchup here because Indie, you want to go to the tight end because their two outside corners, Ward and um, Sauce Gardner, they're very good. And so,
9:28yeah, you want to attack the middle. So, you're right. Dalton shows gets a lot of targets, but don't take last week's
9:33numbers against Cincinnati and and transfer him right over. It's a good game though, like you said, it's hard to sit Craft because he does not have a bad
9:42matchup here. So, but like you said, the floor for Schultz is better. So, if you want the floor, you go with Schultz.
9:49>> But could Craft score two touchdowns?
9:51You're sure, right? He can.
9:52>> Yeah. And the snaps are going to He's going to be a full-time guy. And even if Jonnu gets gets ramped up, and I think
9:57with that offensive line, he probably does.
9:59>> He will.
10:00>> Um, but I I think Craft is gonna be a full-time guy. So, it's really you could go both ways on this one. Here's a a
10:06question um from from Murphenstein in the chat. PPR reddraft. Bowowers for for Park Parker Washington vetoable? No, it's not vetoable. Brack Bowers, the
10:15tight end one or tight end two. Parker Washington's awesome. I guess this is a little segue. Bowowers. Let's say Bowowers plays this week, which it's
10:23looking like he he should. Um, how enthusiastic are you about him in this week's matchup? I've got him at tight end two on the week right out the jump
10:31right behind Trey McBride. Where are you at?
10:33>> Yeah, I have those two like back toback in my rankings. Bowowers and McBride.
10:38Doesn't matter which way you put them, one above the other. You're not rostering them both, so it doesn't matter. If you got one, you're starting
10:42them. If you got both, I don't know how you did that. Tight end Premium League and you're starting them both. But
10:46that's the point. Bowers had a meniscus trim. I'm not a doctor. I'm not a physical therapist, but this was a two-eek injury all along. This was not a
10:54massive injury. It was more of a setback thing. There's no reason to think that he's not going to have to get targets
11:02because again, Trey Tucker had that game last week, but he had that game against Washington last year and you didn't hear
11:07from him the rest of the year. They have to have powers. He's the centerpiece of the passing attack. When he's back, he's
11:13getting the football and vetoable trade.
11:16No. Like you said, what are you thinking? People are too crazy with this. Let people make their trades.
11:21Unless it's like Brock Bowers for John Smith. Okay, you can't ve have that one.
11:25But but anything that's reasonable. Let people make their trades. Here's one for you. And this is from B Fred in the
11:32chat.
11:33Crazy to have Ken Walker over Bejon rest of the season. I have Ken Walker over Bejon rest of the season myself, Jim.
11:40That's where I'm at in my rest of season rankings. I'm working on on getting those out. I know you've updated your
11:46rest of season rankings. expect mine over the next couple days. Where are you at on this one? I just think for me it's
11:52even with Michael Penn coming back. Ken Walker just looks unbelievable and the offensive ecosystem in Kansas City I think can support an RB1 overall season
12:03way more than Atlanta can. Uh your thoughts on this one?
12:07>> So I do have Bejan ahead of him. He caught like eight for 90 in the first game.
12:11>> Yeah, >> Michael Pennix is back. That's a huge He may not be good. That's a massive upgrade over what they had. And Bejian
12:19could get you both ways in any game.
12:21Last week, yeah, Cooper Rush caught up with him. But Bean's going to get you in most games 22 plus points. His receiving
12:28ability is so sick. And Walker could catch the ball great, too. I just think that no matter what the game script, as
12:34long as Penn is there, Bean's going to get so many touches. Now, I can't argue putting Walker ahead of him because the
12:40first two weeks, but you got to understand this. What was he on? 4,000 yard pace, 3,000 yard pace. At some point, market correction will hit. And
12:48the other thing is rest the season.
12:50Walker, he's never had a big work. I think 235 is the most carries he had and he's had durability issues. So, I'm I'm
12:58hesitant to rank him ahead rest of season because Bejian has proven to hold up to a herculean workload three straight years. Whereas Walker, this is
13:06uncharted territory. But you're right, Theo, the upside is really there.
13:11It feels like 2024 Saquon Barkley with the impact level it could have on fantasy football. It's free agent running back >> free agent running back signs goes nuts.
13:20I think I think we're there. So yeah, I get it. I mean and again this is a you have either one of them. You're feeling
13:26really good about things.
13:27>> Exactly.
13:27>> But we did see the downside last week.
13:29It will get better with Penn. A very tilting game for Drake London managers.
13:33A very tilting game for Kyle Pittz managers. Very tilting game for Bejon Robinson managers tonight. Here's a question in the chat from Angel
13:40Gonzalez. Pick three uh standard league.
13:44Jaylen Coker, George Pickkins, Lad Makanki, or Parker Washington? I'm going George Pickkins and Parker Washington for this one. That's how I would have it
13:52ranked for the week. Coker off to a red-hot start. Lad, the game flow, I guess, should be pretty good. They're going to be trailing a lot this week to
13:59the Buffalo Bills, who are seven-point favorites. But it's George Pickins, who I think is due for a massive week, and Parker Washington, who you just start
14:06every week. You don't think about it.
14:08Who do you have here, Jim?
14:09>> So, which one are you sitting? Is pick three. Which one of those >> three?
14:12>> Yeah. Which one are you sitting?
14:14>> I'm gonna I'm gonna sit Lad this week because I have a ton of confidence in Coker. And I I think theoretically Lad
14:21could have a good game against the Buffalo Bills, but I don't have any sort of trust in that passing game right now.
14:26I think Omarian Hampton is the only one because of the volume and because of his role last week with uh what was that 23
14:33touches. I think Hampton's in a pretty good spot. They're going to try to establish the run with him and he had
14:38two catches last week. Maybe that bumps up to three or four this week. The threat of Katon Mitchell was way lower
14:44than we thought in week one, but the passing game I just don't trust. I don't trust the offensive line. I think the
14:50Bills cover the seven and I think the Bills steamroll the Chargers this week.
14:54So, I'm going Jaylen Coker. I think the the Panthers passing game. We have this incredible target consolidation with McMillan and Coker and Bryce Young looks
15:03really good. They're two and a half point favorites in Cleveland.
15:06Cleveland's defense looks beatable this year. Um I I'm going Coker. I think Coker I have higher rank this week than Lad Maki. So I'm sitting lad. Who are
15:15you sitting here? Yeah, it's close. Um and and I could fully get on board sitting lad. Here's the thing with Coker. I pushed him hard week one and I
15:23pushed him hard week two. They're playing the Bears in week one. Bears can't cover. Bears can't rush the passer. Week two they played Atlanta.
15:29Atlanta can't cover. They can't rush the passer. Now, Cleveland may not be a good defense, but Coker is playing a lot on
15:35the outside this year. Um, it used to be like a power slot and that's all he was this week. Denzel Ward may not be great.
15:41Tyson Campbell may not be great, but they're way better than anything they face so far this year. And so, I think
15:48the potential, and you look, Jared Vers hasn't got going in the pass rush. I think this could be that game where we
15:53see Carolina, we always see them after they get this win all of a sudden like they they choke. This is a tougher
15:59matchup. So that's the reason. But I either way, Theo, but I said Coker, but I get sitting lad too because that makes
16:05sense as well.
16:07>> Here's a question from the chat, and I think this is a fun one. The Minnesota Vikings are 2 and 0. Minnesota this
16:12week, it's a weird like kind of trap game where they go on the road against an 0 and2 Tampa Bay Buccaneers. You've
16:18seen this story a hundred times in the NFL, gym, where are if they're a contender, they go in there and win this
16:23one. If they're sort of a pretender, then Tampa Bay probably wins at home as a as a short dog. Uh but Kyler Murray
16:30starts this week. He got knocked out of week one. Carson Wentz won week two for them in that lowscoring matchup against
16:37Chicago. Uh this question comes here from from out the park sports. Start Jordan Love or drop Jordan Love and start Kyler Murray this week. I have
16:46Kyler Murray slightly ahead of Jordan Love this week. Where are you at on this one?
16:50>> So I was in on Kyler Murray heavy this year, but I'm trying not to start him for a couple more weeks. And here's why.
16:57He only played a few snaps. I think he's going to need about three games to figure to figure out where he fits in
17:04that offense. He looked like he didn't master the offense in those limited snaps. I was concerned and that that interception he threw right away. It was
17:12just what are you seeing? I think he needs a little time. He's going to be fine this year, but if you have another
17:18option, I think you start that other option. And remember, Todd BS is going to send the blitz. and the defense isn't
17:23very good, but that's going to be a challenge for Kyler Murray because it's going to speed him up for an offense
17:28he's not fully comfortable with yet. So, I will play Jordan Love again full season. I love Kyler Murray. I just think it's going to take him a little
17:37time Theo.
17:38>> Yeah, I I think, you know, again, you're probably a little more pragmatic with this one. I I I think Kyler, it's for
17:43sort of this the ceiling outcome case, and I think the the just the the blitz could end up working in his favor. the
17:50overaggressive nature of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers could open some things up.
17:53The one thing that Jordan Love has going for him though is the floor is really high because you like you said the
17:58running game is broken.
18:00>> Don't be s and we and I and we keep talking about Thursday night here. I said at the beginning, I don't want to
18:03do it too [laughter] much. So, we're going to try to do that one. Hey, if you're enjoying this one, make sure you
18:07hit that subscribe button. Jim and I are doing this every single week. Hit the like button if you like it, but hit that
18:12subscribe button if you want more. And if you want Jim Coventry Sunday mornings on Rotoire Live, Jim is running it back.
18:19He's going more start sit decisions, getting you ready to crush your your Sunday. Jim, you might have some really gross start sit questions. I mean, you
18:28maybe some Tyler Tyler Batty questions or something like that. We might be we might be down bad, but we're not down
18:33down that bad right now. We're going to answer a few more of these questions. Uh here's a good one. My guy Bryce Young,
18:39they didn't want to listen to me week one. They didn't want to listen to me week one. Um but hey, we're back. Bryce
18:44Young backto-back top five performances.
18:46um a chance to get another win this week in Cleveland. We talk about Coker, we talk about McMillan, but the question
18:53here is Trevor Lawrence or Bryce Young.
18:56Trevor Lawrence against the New England Patriots. I'm going to go Trevor Lawrence in this one. I'm enthusiastic about Bryce Young, but I got to pump the
19:03brakes a little bit here. It's T- law for me this week. Where are you at?
19:07>> Yeah, same thing. And look, we gave you Bryce Young as our streamer of the week on this show last week. We told you to
19:13start him because again, and Bryce Young. That's who we said. So, good luck. Good luck, guys. You could could have listened to Gemini and picked up
19:21those guys on your waiver wire. But hey, man, that that's where we're at. Listen to us a little bit.
19:25>> But we said why? Because the opponent didn't have a pass rush. The opponent didn't have good coverage. So, Bryce Young was in a smash spot. Again,
19:33Cleveland's not a world beater, but playing in Cleveland, that's not the best place to play. Wind gets a little weird, even if the wind's not heavy. Um,
19:40the defense is a little better than what they faced. Um, I who was the other quarterback that we were ago? They took
19:45it off the screen. It was >> Trevor Lawrence.
19:47>> Trevor Lawrence all day long. And Lawrence, look, last week, forget it happened. And I'm gonna tell you why.
19:54Denver did a phenomenal job of taking away the middle of the field on him.
19:58They they learned by when they got torched by Lawrence last year. Denver has the horses to be able to do it. So,
20:03they were able to take away the middle and they forced him to throw outside where he's terrible. Most defenses can't do that. Trevor will be fine.
20:11This is a question in the chat and I think it's a fun one. David Montgomery or Josh DS this week in a halfpoint PPR
20:19format. Now, David Montgomery was all world in week one and then last week we saw a ton of Woody Marks. It looked more
20:25like a split backfield last week and a really disappointing run out for David Montgomery managers. Probably some people who traded high and bought high
20:33on David Montgomery after week one.
20:35Montgomery had three touchdowns in week one and then almost nothing last week. a tilting tilting result. You got Josh DS who the metrics look fantastic playing
20:4490 plus% of snaps.
20:46>> He's getting like 25 30% of his snaps on the outside. So they're using him there where he really never was used in in his
20:54career. And then the really great number, he's playing like 90 plus percent running like 90 plus% of routes.
21:02And now you have Alec Pierce on the IR.
21:04Am I crazy for saying I'm going Josh DS in this one? And I'm feeling really enthusiastic about Josh DS uh for like
21:12really the rest of the season, Jim. I feel like he's a really good uh trade candidate if the rest of your league is
21:18not sort of uh really kind of like in line with what Josh Downs role is about to become.
21:24>> Theo love Josh DS will love him this season. Thought he was going to be great going into this. I know I knew his
21:29snapshot go. Here's the problem this week. It's a three-headed problem. All right, you line up this side. You got Stingley. You line up that side, you got
21:36Lacier. You line up in the slot, you got Petri. That's an 0 for three. Josh Downs is good, but Daniel Jones has to beat
21:42those three quarters. Last week, remember it was like Chase and Burrow were able to get to them, but that was Jamar Chase making these sick catches.
21:51Downs and Daniel Jones aren't making that magic. I don't think they're going to throw the ball with any success against the Houston defense. That's 0
21:58and2 coming in this game. On the other hand, Indianapolis has names on defense.
22:02They're not stopping the run at all. And this is a week where, remember Houston's blueprint. We win with defense. We win
22:10with running the ball. They haven't done that in two weeks. This is a week where they actually can do that. They're going
22:14to have to get a lot out of the run game. I'm going with Monty.
22:18>> All right, we've got we're we're button heads on this one. We will touch base next week on David Montgomery versus
22:23Josh stats, but I I again I don't think you're going to get in trouble with either one of them, but uh we'll follow
22:29up on that one. Uh, here's a here's a fantasy manager who's who's down pretty bad this week. Um, pick two full-point
22:36PPR, Rasheed Shahed, Aronda Gadson, Terren Ferguson, or Coloulston Lovelin. I'm going to go ahead and say Terren Ferguson a must start after the usage we
22:46saw on Monday Night Football. Had a couple of drops, but he looked good otherwise. Um, had the touchdown catch at the end and I don't think Puka Nakua
22:53is going to play again uh this week. The hip is and who knows when Puka is going to be back. Um, but the hip injury
22:59problematic. You've got a Ronda Gadson who's got the bump up uh with David and Jooku and also Charlie Kolar injured.
23:08You got Coloulston Lovelin who >> I mean Jim, it's craziness out there in the streets. And then you've got Rasheed Shahed who had like three catches last
23:15week. So we got Ferguson, we got to pick one more.
23:19>> I'm going to go Coulson Lovelin. And I'm ready to be hurt again here. Um, I I know that there's I know that there's a
23:26lot of people are going to be really angry at me saying his name here, but I'm going to go Coloulston Lovelin. It's
23:30Lovelin and Ferguson for me here. Uh, Lovelin's going to be on the field the entire time. He's going to get opportunities at some point. I would
23:38love to say Aronda Gadson, but I don't trust the passing game. I think Gadson's a player you want to add on waiverss and
23:43just see where it goes. Um, I had him very highly ranked in my waiverwire column, especially for deep leagues and FFPC managers and NFC. Um, but here I'm
23:52going Terrence Ferguson, Coloulston Lovelin. Which way are you going?
23:56>> The problem is it looks like Tyson Bean's not playing. He's got a concussion. They got Case Keenum. He's 38 years old. We've seen games where
24:04Case Keenum can't throw the ball. He's that bad at this stage of his career.
24:08So, Ferguson, yes, monitor the ankle injury. I maybe it's just maintenance.
24:13Monitor that throughout the week. I'm gonna go with Gads to Ferguson. Eight targets to the tight end last week for the Chargers. They had three tight ends.
24:20Now they have one tight end and I think that offense has to use the tight end. I don't think they have any options and
24:25right now with the state of that offensive line, Joe Alt is terrible.
24:28They're gonna have to get the ball out.
24:30They have no choice but to use Gadston.
24:32So I'm going to sit Lovelin because of Case Keenum. No other reason.
24:37>> Okay, here's a fun one in the chat.
24:40And this is this is where we're at. And we talk about how we get a ton of information over the first two weeks of
24:46the season. I remember NFC drafts that I was in where Chris Godwin was going in like the fifth round, sixth round. Adai
24:53Mitchell would go in like round 14 or 15. Now the question we're getting in week three is Chris Godwin or Adai
25:01Mitchell. And Jim, I'm going to go with Adini Mitchell over Chris Godwin here.
25:05And I'm going to do it with confidence.
25:07I think the game flow is going to be fantastic this week against the Detroit Lions defense. And uh Godwin, it just he
25:13looks like an older guy right now. It looks like a like a floor play wide receiver versus Adai where the ceiling
25:19is great and and guess who's got more targets between Garrett Wilson and Adai Mitchell through two weeks. It's Adai Mitchell. Now Wilson is still a strong
25:26strong asset. But that just goes to show you that Mitchell is a very important part of this pass game.
25:31>> Yeah. And Gino Smith likes throwing downfield. Mitchell has more ceiling for you. The problem with Godwin, he's getting open. When they threw him three
25:39balls, he caught them all for like 40 yards. He ran a run for 12 yards. Godwin looks great. For whatever reason,
25:45they're throwing Ted Hurst seven passes.
25:47They're throwing Tz Johnson five passes and Godwin's not getting the ball. So, I they haven't fixed it and they get the
25:52Minnesota Blitz this week. So, it's a dicey one. So, I like you said because I don't trust Baker right now until he
26:00shows me something. I'm going to go with Adai Mitchell as well.
26:03>> Let's talk about a running back that you're very high on this week and I'm actually very high on as well. We saw
26:08what Bucky Irving was able to accomplish against these Bengals in week one. Could we see a similar output from Jaylen Warren? Yeah, Jaylen Warren's in a great
26:18spot. At some point, the coaching staff, Mike McCarthy, has to realize you're throwing the ball 40 times a week and you're only getting 200 passing yards a
26:27game. Aaron Rogers is cooked. There's very little left. But this week, they're playing Cincinnati and you can run to the outside on them and we know Rico
26:35Dow's nicked up. Uh, I tell you what, um, Dexter Lawrence, insane run defense, but you can get to the outside. Warren's
26:43gonna feast there. The linebackers are horrific in coverage. You could throw the ball to Warren. He's a great PPR option this week, and he has a real good
26:51history against Cincinnati. You know, that defense is better. He's getting to the outside. Love him here.
26:56>> Quick mention in the chat from from Lewis Perez saying that EMTT Johnson is a great garbage time RB3 flex in week
27:03three. I with a question mark. Um, could the game flow get so bad that EMTT Johnson ends up getting ramped up and we
27:11see them actually I don't even know if it's possible for them to give Kenneth Walker just a little bit of time off
27:16with that kind of usage. But Emma Johnson looks really good. And could we end up seeing like a fourth quarter where Emma Johnson gets like eight
27:23touches in that quarter?
27:25>> 100%. Because And look, San Francisco, their first four scoring drives, they averaged seven plays per drive. And they weren't like 20 yard drive, 20 yards.
27:33They were regular drives. Seven plays a drive. That's how bad Miamiy's defense is. Kansas City is going to exploit them badly. They're going to get a big lead.
27:42And you hit it, Theo. They can't any week they can give Kenneth Walker fewer carries. They owe that to him. He will
27:50not hold up if you're giving him 23 carries a week. There are very few running backs that can hold up under
27:55that volume. So, this is a great week.
27:57If they get, you know, 20 point lead, Emtt Johnson is getting a big workload here.
28:02>> Yeah, Miami is so bad on defense right now that you almost have to downgrade your kicking option if you have a
28:07high-end kicker. Like, my guy Eddie Pinero had no opportunities at field goals last week. I'm like, "Come on, give Eddie one field goal for me." Gets
28:15a bunch of extra points. That's not helping uh move the needle. So, people using Harrison Butker, uh just be prepared. But might not kick as many
28:22field goals this week cuz they're going to be in the end zone. Uh here's a a trade question. We'll take it. This is
28:28not a trade show, but we'll take it.
28:31Half point PPR. Would you trade Chris Ave and Cam Scataboo for Puka?
28:35>> I'm keeping the Ave side.
28:37>> I'm keeping the AL and Scataboo side.
28:39Injured Puka with the hip. Ave looks like a top five wide receiver right now.
28:44Above looks like this year's version of Jackson Smith and Jigba. And then like you said, we have a window of opportunity for Cam Scaboo. So to me,
28:50this is a little bit of an overpay. I get it. Puka's Puka. Puka could burn me on this one. But where are you at, Jim?
28:57>> Puka is as healthy as he should be this time of the season, and yet he's out already. And he plays such a grinding
29:04physical style. He doesn't avoid contact ever. I'm not taking any chance with him being healthy for a long time. And at
29:10some point, McVey may have to manage him because they've got to win a Super Bowl.
29:14For them, there is no successful season.
29:17That doesn't end with them playing in the last game of the season. So, no, I don't want Puka for that cost.
29:23>> Here's another one here. Uh, another player we want to talk about that. And I guess we could turn this into two
29:28players. Jadarian Price, Emanuel Wilson.
29:32If Price starts and and he's fully healthy, how excited are you this week about him against Washington? And then if he does miss, how excited would
29:42should fantasy managers be about Emanuel Wilson, who last week had 90 plus rushing yards?
29:48>> Yeah, 23 carries. Wow. Uh we know they're splitting the workload, that's for sure. We know that there was a chest
29:55injury for Jadarian Price that took knocked him down a bit. You really need to monitor the practice participation.
30:01If Jadarian Price a full go on Friday, you drafted him, he is now in a great spot. Washington's defense is terrible.
30:09Full practice is if he has a limited practice on Friday. Emanuel Wilson is alive again to get you 15 carries because they should win this game
30:17easily. That defense is not letting down and so he should get a lot of carries.
30:21But again, be cognizant of Jadarian Price's health and a full practice would change the workload.
30:27>> Yeah, this is this is an an interesting one and one you want to monitor. Again, if you're listening to this on the
30:32podcast, we are recording live on Thursday morning. So, we'll see how practice goes on Thursday and Friday.
30:38And make sure you tune in with Jim live on Sunday morning on Rotoire Live, uh where I'm sure you're going to be
30:44getting a million Seattle running back questions. Again, it's a good it's a good problem to have here to get access to this Seattle team against this
30:51Washington team. JSN's going to go for about 30 PPR points again this week.
30:55That secondary looks atrocious. You talk about Miami secondary being bad.
30:59Washington might be the the second worst right now. Here's a question in the chat. Start one. Luther Burton, Josh DS, or Debo Samuel in Fullpoint PPR. I just
31:10talked up Josh Downs, but I'm going to lean into Debo here. I'm going Debo Samuel this week. Um, just slightly ahead of Downs and Burton here. Where
31:21are you at on this one? Again, I I I don't think you can go wrong with Downs or Debo. Burden I I think is a good buy
31:28low if you're if you're in a trade league. Uh I do think things will get better for him when Caleb comes back,
31:34but like you said with no Be agent, we got to downgrade these Bears. So I'm going Debo here. I love this 49ers
31:40offense.
31:41>> Yeah, don't hold Debo's game against him. Um he three catches for 31 yards last week. They played the Dolphins.
31:48They barely ran any plays. I was saying there were seven play touchdown drives.
31:51They got KD involved. They wanted to get him going. So, all that said, this is a game Arizona's plucky on defense. Now,
31:57they lost their their cornerback Garrett Wilson to a neck injury, but that actually helps. So, that said, Debo is a very solid play this week. They're going
32:05to have to score some points. And again, Arizona put up enough resistance where Debo will get more targets. Like you said, Theo, that's the way to go here.
32:13>> Okay, so we have a question in the chat from Mile High Stello, who's really active in the chat. Appreciate uh you
32:18commenting. Uh, let's talk about Sam Darnold, who last year had a really solid year, his his first year in Seattle, goes down in week one. We had,
32:28not really me and you, but we had a lot of people in in fantasy downgrading JSN because of the uh, offensive coordinator
32:37change from Clint Kubak to Brian Flurry.
32:39>> Brian Flurry looks really sharp. I mean, you get Drew Lockach and the guy has hit on all cylinders. They are 2 and 0. a
32:47chance to go three and 0 this week. I think Brian Flurry is an early winner.
32:51Um, a lot of times when you get these firsttime offensive coordinators, you've talked about it, Jim, where they can get you in trouble. But Flurry looks pretty
32:58good. I mean, that's uh you're going to see a lot more people trying to hire guys from San Francisco. They already do
33:03the McVey and Shanahan trees ridiculously big, but this looks like an early win. Where is your confidence level in Sam Darnold when he comes back?
33:12Could we see streaming viability based on what we've seen early on in the process from these Seattle Seahawks?
33:19>> What makes it a tough question is JSN is getting a 45% target share. And you you know my knock on the new coordinators, Theo, it's that
33:30once defenses make adjustments to what they do, they don't have the bag of tricks to come up with something because they've never, you know, called plays at
33:37the level. And that's where the problems become at some point. And maybe maybe JSN is just so good you could bracket
33:45him. You could put three guys in him and maybe he's wide ass open every play.
33:48Sorry I said that. I think we're on >> No, you could say I think I think that that one that one's fine. I don't think
33:52we'll get demonetized. Let me point something out to you. I think what if JSN just turns into 2021 Cooper Cup?
33:58>> And that's what I'm saying. Maybe he's so inevitable that it doesn't matter.
34:02Maybe it doesn't matter the defense cuz who else would they have to worry about the run game? They could care less.
34:06Shahed, go ahead and make a play.
34:09believe when you see it. At some point, you think defense are going to say, "All right, we're putting three guys on him
34:14and somebody else beat us, but I don't even know if it matters." So, Darnold has he has streaming viability the rest
34:20of the way because it just may be inevitable that JSN will get 45% of the targets and maybe he keeps seeing that
34:27and if he does that, the passing game's going to win because he's going to get enough yardage and touchdowns to boy the
34:33quarterback.
34:34Question in the chat from Fitz for Chris Godwin or Emanuel Wilson, Caleb Johnson, RJ Harvey, and hope for some luck. This
34:45is a halfpoint PPR and he wants to point out that his team is injured. So, I'm I think if for me this is if Price misses,
34:54I'm going and we got to eliminate Caleb Johnson from this one. And I think Caleb Johnson a great stash just to see if he
35:00takes over this backfield, but we'll eliminate him. Um, it's it's Emanuel Wilson, RJ Harvey, Chris Godwin. Uh, for me in this one, it's Godwin, but I would
35:12upgrade Wilson if Price sits. Am I looking at this differently than you are Jim?
35:16>> Exactly correct. If Price sits, it's going to be Wilson. Don't forget, Caleb Johnson fumbled last week. He was all excited on one good run. He fumbled and
35:24lost the ball. Coaching staff isn't going to like that. He let got let go from Pittsburgh for a reason. Godwin just hasn't seen the targets yet. Again,
35:32I have no clue why he's at four and three targets because he's got 40 yards on four targets, 46 yards plus 12
35:39rushing on three targets in a rush. He has been fantastic, but he's only he's not getting the ball. Well, this week
35:45they're playing Minnesota. They're going to blitz. They're blitzing 70% of the time over two games. If they do that, the hot read is Godwin.
35:53>> Brian, >> so I have to think Godwin's getting the ball more this week.
35:55>> Yeah, I'm going Godwin there. Um, Brian Flores just a tremendous defensive play caller. Just I mean every year the personnel changes and his team still
36:06produce. I mean the guy really really is locked in. Uh question in the chat here.
36:10This is a good one. Darren Waller who had two touchdown catches last week and one called back in week one. Pat
36:16Frymouth who's been solid floor guy four or five catches. Four four catches I think in back-to-back weeks. And then you've got Hunter Henry. Which way are
36:25you going at this tight end decision? a bunch of tight end twos here. I think my lean is going to be Hunter Henry for me
36:32personally, but where are you at?
36:34>> So Pat Frier has owned Cincinnati. A Cincinnati can never cover tight ends.
36:40>> He had that crazy he had that crazy spike week last year. Wasn't that the one like the Muth game last year where
36:45he just shredded them?
36:46>> Yes. And I just looked this up because I wanted reference on this. So he averages 15 PPR points against Cincinnati and he
36:53scored at least 11.2 2 PPR in eight of his 10 matchups. And um so yeah, anyway, Frier Muth joked his success might be
37:01attributed to Cincinnati Magic from his father who grew up in the area, but it probably is the linebackers. So Frier Muth's a great play this week. He has
37:08owned them. There's no reason Aaron Rogers has to throw short. He has to get rid of it quick. The defense are not
37:13working. Moose should go off here.
37:15>> All right, so I'm going to push back a little bit. This Bengals def this this Bengals defense is not last year's
37:21Bengals defense. And I and I understand the linebackers still have have have have uh this linebackers still have some question marks here, but this pass rush
37:30is going to tee off on Aaron Rogers. We already like Jaylen Warren, so I don't want to upgrade too many Steelers, so
37:35I'm going to stick with my Hunter Henry one, but uh Jim's pretty good at this thing. Uh keep an eye on this one, but I
37:41think I think the Bengals defense from what I've seen with this pass rush, Jim, time out. Go for it. Dalton Schultz
37:49played this defense last week. 12 for a buck 40. Theo. Yeah. I'm just saying.
37:54I'm just saying, Theo.
37:55>> The trend the trend the trend is your friend with the Bengals defense. We'll keep an eye on [laughter] that. It's
37:59It's the funnel, right? It's the funnel.
38:01They're potentially this is a tight end funnel defense, but Jaylen Warren, Pat Fth, we'll keep an eye on this defense.
38:07Uh here's one. Need a quarterback. And a lot of you out there, including myself, need quarterbacks. Anybody with a Jackson Dart team, a Jaden Daniels team,
38:15a Caleb Williams team, this is about as bad as it gets collectively. We're always we're always told like in single QB formats, you can always find one on
38:23the waiverwire. Well, it gets harder this week when everybody's looking for one on the waiverwire. You already factor in Sam Darnold is was out for
38:29weeks, so those managers already picked one up and a lot of managers already picked up Bryce Young. So, people are down bad.
38:36>> Daniel Jones, Gino Smith or Jacobe Brassette.
38:41I'm going Gino Smith in this one. Where are you at?
38:45>> Oh, you have to go Gino Smith. The The Lions are a mess. Aiden Hutcherson can rush. They don't get much help outside
38:51of him and the Jets line isn't bad and they're down to backup safeties and they've been getting torched the Lions because their safeties are and their
39:00corners aren't that good. They got names at corner like DJ Reed. They're not playing great right now. So, yes, this is a game where Detroit's going to score
39:07a lot of points. Gino's going to be in shootout mode. And yeah, you played Gino Smith this week.
39:13>> Okay, here's one. And this is a kind of a a champagne problem here because they've got some some solid solid
39:19options.
39:20>> Lad Makanki, Matthew Golden, Jaylen Coker, Bashel Tutin in Fullpoint PPR.
39:25Which way you going with this one?
39:27>> Um Golden getting too many targets. We already answered Maki Coker one. You like Maki and I liked um you sat you sat
39:34Maki and I sat Coker. Tooten right now you got to play. I do want to point out with with Toutin though, um I note I'm
39:41pointing out the coach still says that Chris Rodriguez the goal line runner and somebody said, "Well, why did Tuton get the touchdown?" He was a quarterback on
39:47that touchdown run. It was a trick play.
39:49It was a trick formation. So, it wasn't like a typical goal lineback. But that said, Toutton's getting a lot of volume.
39:55So, I think Theo and I are going to go back to what we said before. Theo's going to say Bench Maki. I'm going to
39:59say bench Coker in this one. We kind of went over the matchup reason for that earlier.
40:04>> No, this one he's looking for two. I misread this. It's a start one and flex one. So, uh, Coker, Golden, Mac, Tutin.
40:12Uh, pick one to start and then one to go in. So, just pick two. Pick two here.
40:17>> Same thing. Well, then we'll go Golden because of the volume and and Atlanta is really corners are terrible and they
40:22have no rush. And then Tootin for the volume. His floor is really good.
40:25>> Yeah, I'm I'm with you on this one. I think I think this feels like a Christian Watson, Matthew Golden potentially massive massive week. Um,
40:33and and again, I'm with you on Tutin. I actually have a trade show coming out.
40:37I'm doing a trade show here. If you're listening on the podcast, it's probably going to drop uh either late Thursday or
40:42Friday. Tuton's last week I listed him as a trade target. Listing him as a trade target again. I think that role is
40:48going to continue to grow. And Jim, it's sort of a mess where there's like three other running backs uh active with
40:54Allen, Rodriguez, Abdullah. They just can't figure anything out. But the one thing that's becoming more and more clear is I think Tuton's role is going
41:01to grow throughout the season. looks so much better than any other back there.
41:06And that there's that weird stat about um and and people are tracking everything with miles per hour data, but Toutton has 12 runs that have gone for
41:1515 miles per hour this year. So, he's gets to like the next level even on like short runs. He's just a blur. Uh Jir
41:22Gibbs was number two. So, uh Toutin, you got to get that guy the ball. He's pretty fast. Um here we go. Mile High
41:28Stello, I gave you a shout out before.
41:30FFPC last flex spot. QJ, Xavier Worthy or Luther Burden, where you at on this one?
41:38>> So, you're going to know that I'm an honest man because I fade Worthy every possible chance I can. I ain't fading
41:45them this week because they're playing Miami. And if they ever want to get Worthy's confidence up and even if they don't have to throw a lot, Worthy is
41:53going to be able to torch this defense.
41:55Uh Miami just can't. They have no horses. They don't have a legitimate pass rush. So, I am going with Worthy.
42:00Burden's only out because Case Keenum's playing quarterback. Cannot trust him.
42:04Quinton Johnson right now is a little bit shaky. That offense has a lot to figure out. Crazy enough. I hate Worthy
42:10in fantasy, but I love him this week.
42:13>> Yeah, I I'm with you. I think Xavier Worthy is the one that I'm going to have ranked the highest. I think he's a
42:17borderline wide receiver, too, this week. And you look at sort of those downfield looks that went to Taekquin Thornton down the stretch against Indie.
42:24A couple of those could go to Worthy here. I think Worthy finds the end zone this week. And like you said, Chicago's
42:29going to struggle to score with with Case Keenum. Uh and again, that QJ man, it hurts my heart talking about these
42:36Chargers. It's a complete disaster right now. Uh question in the chat from Drew.
42:42Got a champagne problem. We get it, Drew. You got a nice roster. Pick three.
42:47Z Flowers, Matthew Golden, Devonte Adams, Cam Scataboo.
42:51Zay is up in the air. Uh because you've got the the the Brazil game, the the field looks better. So I think there's a
42:59there's like a lot of videos out there about like the Marana um where there's the team that plays there. We'll give
43:05you a little Brazilian soccer knowledge.
43:07Like Flamingo plays there and Flamingo's been complaining about this this turf all year. So the Brazilian soccer players comp complaining about the
43:13Americana. Um now you've got the NFL, they they've sort of fixed up the turf.
43:18At least it looks better. We don't know how durable it is, but it looks better than like yesterday where it looked
43:23completely choppy. There's some new videos coming out, >> but I don't think they risk Zay here with just just push comes to shove. So,
43:31>> you're looking at Matthew Golden, Devonte Adams, Cam Scataboo. You got to start Devonte Adams. There's no way you can bench him after last week with
43:38Pukanua having the hip injury. Um, and pick three. Oh, so we already did it.
43:44So, I'm sorry. I answered the question here. You just need to eliminate one.
43:47Drew, come on. Keep keep the questions for people that are down bad in the chat here. Don't put these.
43:52>> Hey Theo, real quick though, um I wanted to point out the Brazil thing.
43:55Apparently they've got uh Rio de Janeiro. They got 10 times more rain than this time of year than they typically have. So the underlying
44:03problem in the field is it may be fixed in the server. They they say it's been a very big problem with the rain. So like
44:08you said, I don't think they could trust Z Flowers if he hurts himself because of the turf that that hamstring injury
44:15could be a six weaker. They can't afford it. And last thing I want to say about Adams. Of course you're starting Adams
44:20in your leagues. This is for everybody, not just for this question at all. But Devonte Adams is their designated um what it man coverage beater. When they
44:30play man, he's excellent at this week.
44:32It's Patrick Certan who probably shadows him. Just be careful with Devonte. This week he'll be fine, but he's not probably going off.
44:42>> Okay, here's one. And and I'm not a I'm not a scientist, but they got something in Brazil called the rainforest. So they
44:48get a lot of rain. They get a lot of rain there.
44:50>> And they got 10 times the usual amount.
44:5210 times they said.
44:54>> Here's a question in the chat. Mike Evans or Jaylen Wadd? Fullpoint PPR. One point for first downs. So there's a
45:01little bit of a wrinkle here. Mike Evans, Jaylen Waddle, both really good starts this week. I think we could call them like borderline wide receiver ones.
45:09probably in that top uh 15 to 18 wide receiver range pretty much every week for both of these guys. But when you
45:16factor in the one point for first downs, do you have a lean here? Denver goes off against the Rams. Uh Squeaky Wheel got
45:24the grease last week with Jaylen Wadd.
45:26We were both on that one, Jim, in a major way. And then you got Mike Evans going up against the Arizona Cardinals.
45:32Brock Pury incredibly efficient right now. Uh where you at on this this question? Wadd's gonna see a heavy dose of Trent McDuffy and Watt and McDuffy
45:40could play on the outside. He could travel in the slot. He's that exact corner. The Rams got him for that purpose. Mike Evans is dinged up
45:47already. They said it's not major, but it always worries me with an old dude who's consistently on the injury report now going back to August. That worries
45:55me. [sighs] I think Evans has more touchdown upside here, but I think Jaylen Wadd right now they're featuring him in the offense.
46:03So, I think Wadd has the higher floor.
46:07I I think you're probably right on that one. I think just the Jaylen Wadd. It's like you could feel the San Francisco
46:13game shifting to several directions where you could feel a smash week for KD. You could feel a smash week for Debo. You could feel a smash week for
46:21CMC.
46:22>> Probably will be a smash week for CMC, but they're not going to do it. It's not going to be all of them. So, it's
46:27usually like one gets sacrificed for the other guys to put up the points. It's going to be consolidated. But I think
46:32with Waddle, the Pat Bryant week one versus Pat Bryant week two major letdown that seems like not really a thing. I
46:40think there was some Waddle managers out there just like what am I watching in that first couple drives for Denver?
46:44Waddle is so locked in. And also with all the running back injuries, it just Wadd is the show in Denver right now.
46:52Yep. Here's here's a question in the chat. Joe Burrow or Tyler Shuck four-point passing touchdown and Mike uh and we'll get to his second second start
47:01in a moment. I mean, this is crazy. Joe Burrow versus Tyler Shuck. I'm going Joe Burrow, but Tyler Shuck last week, we
47:09were singing his praises and well, I was but we're butting heads on that one last week, but you got to be a little bit
47:15higher on Tyler Shuck after the big win in Baltimore, Jim. But it's still Joe Burrow.
47:19>> Yeah. Just remember this, too. Tyler Shuck has played from behind and he's loaded up his points in garbage time. Do
47:24you really think they're going to trail the Raiders? And if they trail, are they gonna be trailing by more than six
47:29points at any time? Probably not. So, they probably have a conservative game plan here. They We've seen New Orleans when they come out early. They're not
47:36looking to go bombs away. They're they're conservative until they have to go nuts. They shouldn't have to go nuts here. Joe Burrow, look, Joey Porter is
47:43probably not playing. That contract thing, it sounds like it's messy. He didn't play the first two weeks. Sounds like he's out again. based on the
47:50contract. So yeah, you go with burrow and don't even you got to start burrow.
47:53You have to start for the floor. You start burrow for the floor.
47:56>> Your expectations for Dak Prescott this week. Prescott tore up that Washington Commanders team. This the the Brazil game is always a funny one. We talked
48:05about the field conditions.
48:07>> You you go back to three years ago, Jordan Love and Jaylen Herz. It was like 34-29. It was just incredible.
48:15Everybody's eating. That was the Jaden Reed game. That was the Saquon Barkley game. We go back to last year, Quentyn Johnston game. Uh Justin Herbert looks
48:23fantastic. The Chargers get that huge win over Kansas City to start out the year. KC was the defending Super Bowl champs. You've also lost two guys to
48:30injuries like Jordan Love got injured that first year and then Xavier Worthy runs into Travis Kelce. Uh oh man, really down bad after that one. Dak
48:39Prescott, it's really difficult to sit him, but should fantasy managers sort of limit their expectations?
48:46>> I think so. And again, if there's wetness in that field and it's soft in any way, Dak has to have things go his
48:53way. We see Dak have these weird bad games out of nowhere and it's like little variables just throw him off.
49:00You're starting him if you drafted him as like you drafted like a bum as your second quarterback. If you have a really
49:06good second quarterback, strongly consider playing the second quarterback over Dak. And and if Jesse Mter's defense plays decently, Dak struggles when defenses play well. Um, so he's
49:17really kind of a front runner. I love Dak, >> but um, >> it's a tilting game. It is. And I, you
49:24know, it's one of those ones where I, I love the international games because a lot of times we get like the early
49:30morning thing and some people are like, I don't like having to do that. I love it where you you have NFL football at
49:34like 9 in the morning on the East Coast.
49:36It's awesome stuff. But, um, this one, it kind of stinks because it's such a good matchup for us. such a high total
49:44and if the field conditions are sloppy and we get sort of a it's a it's a sort of game for fantasy managers where you
49:50see Baltimore Dallas that's like okay all my fantasy players going to eat we're going to get a 3528 type game. Um
49:57I could see it being a choppy one with both teams just want to get the hell out of there. So we'll keep an eye on this
50:02one but I think lower expectations Jim people want to like turn off the show when you say you got to sit Dak
50:08Prescott. People are down so bad at the quarterback position right now. So, I think lower your expectations there.
50:13>> Just Yeah, just lower them. I'm starting back in my league.
50:16>> Jack Strap in the chat. Bowowers will be playing. I could see Las Vegas uh getting that win against New Orleans.
50:22Vegas 2 and 0 right now. Um hey man, we'll see. We'll see. Uh one more. Go for >> Do we really see Brock Bowers 100% this
50:33week?
50:34>> I don't I think he's probably 80% this week. Maybe next week he's 100. I mean, conditioning wise, he's been down with a
50:40knee. Maybe he comes out and he's Superman in the first game and you start him. You start him, he's going to get
50:45the ball. But don't look for 150 yard two touchdown Brock Powers. I don't think in the first game back.
50:51>> Here's one for you. Okay, from Mile High Stello again, great question. Rashad Baitman last week. Awesome. Really, really strong week. Uh did it with the
51:02first game without Jacobe Lane, Zaflflower sitting? Uh or do you go with Terrence Ferguson who again broke out?
51:08So Ferguson, you brought up the the slight ding. We're going to see the practice reports. Again, if you're listening on the pod, recording this
51:15early morning Thursday, so well before LA's practice, Terrence Ferguson or Rashad Baitman. And again, this is 1.5 point tight end premium. The fact that
51:24it's tight end premium, I'm going to lean into Ferguson here. Which way are you going?
51:29>> The good news is it's a late afternoon Baltimore game and it's a nighttime Los Angeles game. If Z Flowers is out,
51:37badfield or no badfield, Dallas's corners are not good. So, Baitman earned some confidence last week. So, if we see that Z Flowers is out, even with the
51:47sloppy field, I do think you take a chance on starting. Um, now, if we know Puka's out already, though, see, that's
51:54the thing. If we already know Puka is going to be out, then it's Terence Ferguson. If you don't know if Puka, if
51:59he's a game time decision, play Baitman.
52:02>> Hit that subscribe button. Hit that like button if you're enjoying watching Jim and I breaking down your questions.
52:07We're going to do one more trade question. This is start sit show, but we want to help you out here. Vlad is down
52:12bad. Vlad is 0 and2 in his league. Aman Ross St. Brown 25 points per game. Year of the sun god besides JSN, like Aman
52:20Ross St. Brown, it just looks like the the the best wide receiver in football right now. Trade Aman Ross St. round
52:27with JK Dobbins and and Jonah Coleman for Devon Achan Z Flowers and Jameson Williams. I'm making the deal here, Jim.
52:36I'm going to take the three for one here essentially. Um I know you're not a huge JO guy. The usage has been good. The the
52:42production has been awful.
52:44>> Achan, the usage has been unbelievable.
52:46Uh and the production has been not so good. And Zay Flowers, I think, showed us just how important he was to the
52:53team. They have Zay Flowers week one against Indie. He gives you 150 yards receiving and a touchdown in like a quarter and a half. Goes down with an
53:01injury and then last week they lose the Saints. So I think Zay Flowers looks like a top six wide receiver potentially
53:08when he comes back. You got Devon Achan who with this usage and his history and his talent, even with the Dolphins being
53:15awful, he's going to be a borderline RB1, a low-end RB1. And then you've got Jameson Williams who Jim, it's it's it's
53:22it it's got to get better for JMO. It's got to get better for JMO. I know you're not a big JMO guy, but you got to give
53:27the people a little hope.
53:28>> Well, the only thing with J Mo is he's the number three. And the other thing is the offensive lineage told you not to
53:34start JO last week because the right tackle was out, the left guard was out.
53:37Well, J Mo needs long developing plays to get the downfield shots. And when you're down two linemen, the coach isn't making Jared Goff do that because he
53:44can't extend plays. So, it was really situational. If the line gets healthy, JO's great. But the whole point is this.
53:49For the last person that went that trade, I make the trade, but understand this. What is the rest of your starting
53:54lineup? Can you fit these? I mean, can who else do are you now have good players that you can't start? Because
54:01you're going have to make secondary deals. But like Theo said, you make that deal because Z Flowers, they're weaponizing that Glenn Doyle. Why did he
54:08go for 150 against two good corners?
54:10They got him into the slot. They got him in motion. It was incredible how they used him.
54:16So, we saw Harold Fannon Jr. last week with five catches for 54 yards and he had six targets. So, trending up a
54:24little bit and I we feel a little bit better about things in Cleveland than certainly than than we did uh heading
54:33into the season. Uh Denzel Boston obviously some really good stuff there.
54:36Quinn Sean Judkins with like a 15% target share without w in his first first week as like this full-time bellcow usage. Uh, no Samson obviously,
54:46but Fannon is a guy where you talked about him last week. Where's your enthusiasm level for him this week against Carolina?
54:53>> Yeah, Fannon had a great spot last week.
54:55Tampa blitzes a lot and you dump it off your tight end and and I tell you what, Al Alexandal, he he can't tackle right
55:01now. So, it was a great game for Fannon.
55:03Um, I I'm still a little concerned. I loved him last week. This week against Carolina, it's not a bad matchup. Where
55:09do you attack them? You avoid Horn and Jackson on the outside. You get them in inside. This is a Fannon game and it's
55:14not a great passers from Carolina. So, I do think they can get Fannon involved.
55:18Expect about five catches here. It's a solid performance.
55:22>> And if Fannon doesn't fire off, do you have any expectations for Casey Conpsion in this one? It's been the Boston show
55:29uh the last two weeks on the touchdowns, but Casey's going to get plenty of opportunities. Do you think this could be his week?
55:35>> Yeah, Boston earned a 55 yard touchdown.
55:38Tampa missed a number of tackles. It was they were Tampa's horrible right now defensively. Um, give Boston all the credit, but he's not going to get a
55:46bunch of missed tackles on those and his quarterback really limits him. Can again, Carolina the outside corners are are good. It It's not an optimal matchup
55:55there. So, I think this game is low scoring. I think it's a really lowcoring game this week. I I I see this game
56:00getting dragged in the mud. So, I'm not optimistic about the overall Cleveland passing game. Watson, look, he did okay last week. Great. Super short passing.
56:09film's out on that. So again, temper your expectations for the Browns.
56:13They're still the Browns.
56:16>> Justin Herbert or Kyler Murray? This question is from Oscar Romero. Give me Kyler. Give me Kyler in this one.
56:24>> I mean, right now, how do you play Justin Herbert? He fumbled like three times. Now, here's the thing. Buffalo's defense is not very good. I know they
56:32brought in new coach, um, Leonard, Jim Leonard. They don't look like they're a good unit right now. Buffalo's probably scoring 40 points here. Now, does
56:42Herbert let them lose 40 to nothing?
56:44Maybe, but it it potentially could be garbage time here. Like I said with Kyler, I love him. I don't think he
56:50knows the offense yet. I think it's he's in a ramp up period. You can start Kyler because he might run for something like
56:56Theo said and and you can do that. Just understand that this could be a game where Herbert's garbage time gets him
57:03something. But it's a coin flip.
57:05>> Yeah, this is this is one. It's so difficult to trust the Chargers. Jim, the Chargers next five games. It's an
57:11absolute gauntlet. I mean, this could be 0 and7. I mean, you hate to say it, but this feels like this could be the end of
57:18Jim Harbaugh in LA.
57:20>> Mike McDaniel. I I mean, I had so many guests on this summer, and we were all sort of collectively excited about Mike
57:29McDaniel with this offense. I mean, >> I I can't remember the last time there's been this big of a rug pull. Now, maybe
57:35they turn things around, but it doesn't feel like there's a whole lot of hope here. Uh, man, this is this is an
57:41absolute mess. Uh, one more player that you're down a little bit on this week is Bucky Irving. Talk about Irving this
57:48week against this Minnesota defense.
57:50>> We have seen Jamir Gibbs just bust against Minnesota. Why? Because Minnesota forces the running back to pick up a blitz. They they design it.
58:01Brian Flores sends his blitzer right at the running back. Now the running back is screwed because what do you do? And
58:08that's the problem Bucky Irving is gonna have this week. Bucky Irving is not going to be able to release out because
58:12if he does release out, you know how quickly Brian Flores's blitz gets home and Baker Mayfield gets pile driven into the ground. So I am and Minnesota
58:21against the run rock solid. I don't know how they do all the blitzing and they stop the run. So, this is a very
58:26nightmarish matchup for a receiving running back because he's gonna have to block. There's no alternative.
58:33>> We're going just a few minutes more here. We get a couple more subscribers of the channel, we'll we'll go 10
58:37minutes more. So, we'll keep an eye on that one. Uh, Michael Chavez has asked this question like four times. So, Michael, we see you here. Trying to get
58:45to a million questions here. Would you drop any of these players for EMTT Johnson? Casey Conpsion, Jakory Crosky, Merritt, um, Tank Bsby, the Vikings
58:56defense, Jordan Addison, Daltton Schultz. I think that that EMTT Johnson might be the best handcuff right now in football. Uh, your thoughts on this one.
59:06>> So, here's the thing with Tank Bsby. We learned a lot in the first two weeks.
59:11He's actually not the the backup running back. He is Will Shipley is the number two. But if Saquon Barkley gets hurt,
59:18then Tank Bsby moves into the Barkley role and Will Shipley stays in the number two role. We It was very clear in
59:25week one. Shipley was on the field.
59:27That's the team's plan. So now apparently, I haven't heard anything about Saquon, but he came back into the game. So I don't think the Stinger is
59:34bad as we let on. So no, I I Big Bsby is the one I let go unless you're banking on a Barkley injury. But I think like
59:40you said, who which handcuff would you rather have? Bsby or Emma Johnson? And I think it's Emma Johnson.
59:46>> Yeah. And in this so my my thing with the the Bsby versus Shipley, >> I think it's a little bit like Tai
59:52Johnson, Ray Davis sort of correlary there where if Saquon missed a lot of time, you'd roll Bsby out for a really
59:59big but Shipley offers a lot. So Shipley like a really good receiver in college.
60:04There's some pass blocking, but Bsby is is the guy I for me the the player who I didn't even mention in their questions
60:10was Jaden Daniels. who I think people are holding on hope for. I might just cut Jaden Daniels here and pick up Emma
60:17Johnson because Jaden Daniels, what's the hope here, Jim? It's the same elbow as last year. We saw how problematic this was. It's one of those things where
60:25I think you're going to get an IR distinction for him soon enough after he gets the tests and this might be like
60:31most of the season gone. Whereas Emma Johnson, the Chiefs, he could be in a in a spot start, especially when we get to
60:37flex weeks, uh, where people are on buys. He's going to flex consideration and then if Ken Walker goes down for any
60:43period of time, Emtt Johnson's like a top 10 running back. So do what you can to get yourself some EMTT Johnson one.
60:50Uh okay, here's one. Who scores more points this week, Raandre Stevenson or Trayvon Henderson? I'm going Trayvon Henderson.
60:57>> So in the particular matchup here, they're playing Jacksonville. And Jacksonville is pretty difficult to run on the inside against. So I do think
61:05Tayvon Henderson would outscore him this week. Last week I think I think they did punish Stephvenson for the fumble for a
61:11while. Um Henderson had the great long touchdown run. Wasn't super effective other than that, but I agree with you Theo. I think this particular matchup.
61:18This one would be a Henderson matchup.
61:21>> Do we need to lower expectations this week for Tyler Warren? We've talked about Josh Downs getting this big target bump. No, Alec Pierce. Warren sort of is
61:31what he is right now usage-wise, but this particular matchup, where are you at? Indianapolis, Houston.
61:38>> Yeah, Tyler Warren has I mean he scored touchdowns which is great but he has done very little else. The problem is
61:44when you're playing Houston they've got good safeties. Jaylen Petri is a slot corner and he they may just move him on
61:52Tyler Warren. So I don't and Daniel Jones right now sorry he doesn't look good. He can't extend any plays. He can't he can't do the boot action stuff
62:00they need to make their offense run. So yeah, Tyler Warren, look, you move him down at tight end, expect the floor.
62:07He'll catch you four passes and he has a, you know, 25% chance and one of them's in the end zone, but that's about
62:13it right now.
62:14>> Yeah, Tyler Warren is is a player that I definitely was a little too enthusiastic about at this point. Uh we we talked
62:20about Daniel Jones, but in the preseason Tyler Warren I thought the usage would ramp up in this extreme way and and
62:27really Daniel Jones's limitations would favor Warren because you get a lot of that low A dot those manufactured looks.
62:34I think for for us Warren's a tight end one but not one that's going to like be a league winner. I think it's really
62:41apparent that people hoping for kind of what Daltton Concaid is giving you with Tyler Warren, it just wasn't the right wasn't the right approach. Here's an
62:48interesting question. Uh, you got to change your YouTube name here. I see you all the time. A big shout out for
62:53supporting the show, but come on, man.
62:55Um, drop uh Jakori Crosky Merritt for Alvin Kamara. That's the question. And Kamar last week >> out touched Travis Tienne. Five catches
63:05for seven yards. But five catches. We'll we'll keep the I'm keeping Jaka Kroski Merritt here because Kamar looks so cooked as a runner. You also have like
63:13CJ Donaldson mixing in with some some usage there. It's >> right.
63:17>> Yeah.
63:18>> CJ Donaldson is the only one they trust to protect the quarterback in passing situations. They don't trust Achan. They don't trust Chimera. So, the funniest
63:26thing is they're two receiving backs who they don't want on the field in receiving downs. They'll catch first and second down passes but not third down.
63:33So look, Chimera, it was nice to get the five catches like you said, Theo, but Krosky Merritt's going to be in problems
63:40because they're not going to have a lot of leads in Washington. That means they're going to relegate him. I told you it was Rashad White was the play all
63:45year because they're going to trail. But of the two, you got to keep JCM. And look, see if there's somebody else out
63:51there. See if you could trade him. But yeah, Chimera is not the answer.
63:55>> Yeah, I took a lot of heat in August for my Rashad White enthusiasm. People are a little a little quieter. I also took a
64:01lot of heat on Trayvon Henderson, Raandre Stevenson stuff and the haters were out in full force, but now they're a little quieter. So, you know, we get
64:09some stuff right here, Jim. Uh, here's a a question for you in the chat. Half point PPR, >> Luther Burden, Romeo Dubs. Romeo Dubs
64:16with 90 plus last week. Adani Mitchell, Josh Palmer. I mean, man, we are chasing these Bills. It's Adai Mitchell. Adnai Mitchell this week is is the play.
64:25>> It It is. And I want you to know with Josh Palmer, in week one, the team bracketed DJ Moore so hard, they didn't
64:32even cover Palmer. He had a walking touchdown. Last week, Moore wasn't on the field, they didn't cover him. Well, somebody at some point is going to put a
64:39player on him, and at that point, he's done. So, yeah, don't play Josh Palmer.
64:45>> Yeah, Josh Palmer um running pure in the touchdown department. It it comes a point where you see Josh Allen and
64:51you're like, I need to start literally everyone. And there's going to be some week where you have a zero pointer from
64:55Josh Palmer. Um, Malik Neighbors or Parker Washington. This is from Grant Lucas.
65:01>> Parker Washington. It's Parker Washington this week.
65:04>> And honestly, it's probably not that close, right? Neighbors. Neighbors hurt his shoulder. He came back in the game.
65:09I I don't know that he's 100%. I don't even know he's 100% from his knee yet.
65:13Jameus Winston, maybe he's a little better in week two. I can't count on him. But Parker Washington, you can always count on Parker Washington.
65:21Yeah, it's, you know, I think that there's this little narrative going around where I think it's like visions of Jamus past and maybe people didn't
65:30watch the game against I mean, Jamus is was had a busy summer. He's got the World Cup. He was really good at
65:36covering those games. He's such a likable guy, >> but Jamus is out there throwing moonballs, Jim. I could have made that
65:41first pick. I mean, that was bad. Um, and I think that there's a narrative going around in the streets that Jamus
65:47is somehow going to help Malik Neighbors. I think Malik Neighbors is a trade right now. It's It hurts me to say
65:53it. Neighbors is just this elite talent, but I am I I listed Neighbors as a trade in my trade show. Um people might, you
66:01know, talk a little trash on that one if he goes for some Smash Week, but I think the idea that he can be super consistent
66:07here with Jameus Winston and I also think it might not be Jamus. Harbaugh said that they're exploring all options.
66:13There could be some veteran that they're trading for and it might not be a better option. and they might trade for
66:18somebody with mobility and just try to emulate the mobility from uh from Dart.
66:22So, really, really tough one.
66:24>> Hey, Philip Rivers is available.
66:25>> Oh my god. Oh my god. [laughter] Uh here we go. Uh hey, the one the one that would be interesting would be Jim Joe
66:32Flacco. Reunite Flacco and Harbaugh.
66:34That would be a fun one.
66:35>> They ain't letting Flaco go because if Joe Burrow goes down, they already know how that story ends if they don't have
66:39Joe.
66:40>> That's right.
66:40>> They won't give up Joe for a second round pick. I don't >> Oh, I don't know about that. They >> I'm kidding. That was sarcast. That was
66:45sarcasm.
66:46>> There we go. C CJ Strad or Gino Smith.
66:49Um, man, this people are down bad. Um, lost Jaden Daniels. I have a team that lost Jaden Daniels and and I'm down
66:56really really bad and the team's good.
66:58Uh, but now I've got this chasm at quarterback.
67:01>> Strad or Gino? I guess for this week it's Gino. For the season, I'm probably going Strad. The pass volume has been
67:09good for Straoud and he hasn't thrown any picks, only two touchdowns. But I like what I'm seeing in terms of uh CJ
67:16sort of just not just giving it up, but this week it's definitely Gino. Do you have a different take than I do?
67:21>> It's the same. But always know with Gino Smith, I love him against the Lions.
67:25They're probably trailing. It's probably a shootout. We've seen Gino Smith lay eggs. Now, I like Gino Smith. He's my favorite streamer of the week. But
67:32always know when you start Gino Smith.
67:34Gino Smith could become Gino Smith in any given week and all of a sudden it's like, how did that happen? How did 75
67:40yards and three picks happen? I'm not saying it will. I'm starting Gino as a streamer and I like him over Shroud, but
67:45just always understand when you start Gino, you might actually get Gino. But we love him nonetheless this week.
67:51>> This is a interesting question in the chat from Josh Pesky and I think this is a borderline champagne problem. Uh
67:58Bashel Tutin or Acha Ibuka this week half point PPR? We've talked about Tutin. Uh Ibuka, I see some positivity with the usage where they're moving him
68:08around a lot, Jim, trying to find advantageous matchups. It feels like a big Bua week is coming, but for this particular week, are you going Toutin or
68:17Ibuka?
68:18>> I'm going to talk out both sides of my mouth here. I talked about Baker earlier. For some weird reason, Baker
68:24has been crazy good against the Blitz in his career. I don't know how, I don't know why, but he goes yolo. And remember
68:31Jordan Love in week one, they blitz 78% of the time, but he hit some big plays to Christian Watson and to Matthew
68:38Golden, and it the end result didn't look good. Well, that's what you're looking at here. They're going to try to go bombs away against the Blitz and
68:45Amecha Iabuka has a great chance of making a big play or two. Tutin has a much better floor, very reliable floor,
68:52but if you need a swing for the fence, this could be an upside week for Ibuka.
68:57>> I agree with you completely on this one.
68:59I think a I'm going to Bua this week. I think they're very close for me, but it feels like this could be a Bua week.
69:05Baker's got a little maniac in him, Jim.
69:07I think he enjoys when when guys are blitzing them. like the whole challenge of it wants to fight people in the
69:12stands sometimes. It's like popping zins on the sideline. Like Baker's a little bit of a maniac. Um here's a really fun
69:18question and again >> we feel better about things in Cleveland.
69:23>> You got Quinn Sean Judkins who's getting work in the pass game and then you've got Jameson Williams where it's been
69:30incredibly frustrating. I listed Jameson and we've always buted heads on JO over the years, Jim. This is a player that like I've been way higher on in certain
69:39seasons than you have. Um, you know, you bring up the number three target, but offensive ecosystem, Detroit, awesome stuff there. Cleveland, we think we're
69:49seeing some positivity, but it's still Cleveland. Offensive line, real issues here. Running back versus wide receiver will take it out out of the equation.
69:58just for a pure flex play, Quinchon Judkins or Jameson Williams for this particular week.
70:04>> You have to wait till Friday to make this decision. You have to see what the the offensive line practice report is. U
70:10right tackle Blake Miller missed last game. He's still Mark questionable. They missed their left guard Mahogany. He's still questionable. And also their right
70:19guard Tate Rattlage. If two of those linemen aren't practicing Friday, you got to sit J Mo because they can't run downfield routes because they don't have
70:27protection. If if they're only down one lineman, play J Mo. Otherwise, you got to play Judkins.
70:32>> And you talk about how like the the one thing I think we sort of learn, and Jim, you're one of the best at this. We
70:38always get this sample size early on in the season where we can identify teams that are sort of funneling things in a
70:43certain direction. Right now, the Jets look like a slot funnel. Everything's going to the slot with the Jets. And I mean, you already know Aman Ra is going
70:53to eat, but Aman Ra might really, and this might be like 18 targets this week.
70:57I wonder how they're going to approach this one. Um, and if this is by design, but you know, a lot of times when you
71:03see like tight ends eating every week or maybe a team giving up a certain number of catches to running backs every single
71:09week, that's by design. They try to cover up their limitations and take away certain things. It feels like a slot funnel. So, I'm going Quinch on Judkins
71:18in this one. I am intrigued by the usage. I think he's fine. Uh, one more question here. Dennis Smith. Final Thursday question. Matthew Golden or
71:28Ibuka?
71:30>> Man, am I really going to say Matthew Golden in this one? I I love them both this week, but Golden might go nuts.
71:36This feels like this might be, and again, if you listen to this on Friday and the guy has like four catches for 55
71:41yards, I I'll own the L, but it feels like this is the Matthew Golden breakout on national TV.
71:46>> Yeah. Again, I'm not going to rehash the whole thing, but very simple. Atlanta can't rush the passer. Atlanta's down AJ
71:52Terrell. They really can't cover. Green Bay can't run the ball. What does that leave? That leaves throwing the ball.
71:58And Jordan Love has a good opportunity, so his receivers are going to eat here.
72:01Golden has a lot of targets. I I again IA is a great upside but there's downside against that blitz. You got to
72:07go golden here for the floor. The floor is better.
72:10>> Okay, two more questions rapid fire because we got to get out of here. All right, >> Drake May or Kirk Cousins?
72:15>> May.
72:16>> May. Easy. Uh Jaylen Wadd for Trayvon Henderson trade. Keep Jaylen Wadd.
72:23>> Keep Jaylen Wadd. He may not be great this week. He's going to have a phenomenal season.
72:28>> All right, there we go. Jim, let everybody know what you have going on.
