Alvin Kamara

NegativeUsage50:08

Alvin Kamara remains a threat to limit the ceiling of other running backs in the Saints' backfield, as he is expected to maintain a significant role as the preferred receiving option.

Insight page

Baker Mayfield

PositiveValue2:02

Sigmund Bloom identifies Mayfield as a key indicator for team success; if Mayfield is underpriced, his surrounding wide receivers and running backs will also provide significant value. Supported by a top-five offensive line, Mayfield is positioned to beat his ADP and elevate his teammates.

Insight page

Bijan Robinson

NegativeRole18:38

The source cites Bijan Robinson's rookie season as an example of how veteran competition, specifically Tyler Allgeier, can negatively impact the workload and fantasy outlook of a top-10 drafted rookie running back.

Insight page

Blake Corum

PositiveValue37:01

Blake Corum is the preferred Rams running back to target, with the source projecting a potential 950-yard, 10-touchdown season as a 'hammer' who closes out games in the second half for a dominant defense. Sigmund Bloom notes Corum is a better value than TreVeyon Henderson, citing his high likelihood of big games in positive game scripts. Corum is talented enough to potentially outscore Kyren Williams or force a split backfield, challenging Sean McVay's historical usage patterns.

Insight page

Breece Hall

PositiveProjection12:59

While initially considered a league-winning target due to an improved offensive ecosystem and potential receiving work, the source ultimately advises against drafting Breece Hall over players like Javonte Williams or David Montgomery, citing concerns about the team's coaching situation and the historical lack of success for 'living in the past' offenses.

Insight page

Cam Skattebo

PositiveValue25:10

Cam Skattebo is a high-value target in the fourth round, supported by his 19 touches per game last year, receiving ability, and goal-line role. The source suggests he could be a second-round pick if he stays healthy, bolstered by the addition of top run-blocker Francis Mauigoa.

Insight page

Chase Brown

NegativeValue26:34

The source uses Chase Brown as a draft value benchmark, placing him in the same tier as Kenneth Walker III for running backs taken after Cam Skattebo.

Insight page

Chris Olave

PositiveValue32:35

The source recommends Chris Olave as a value target in the Saints offense, noting he is priced well to return value after a season with over 100 catches and 150 targets.

Insight page

Christian McCaffrey

PositiveUsage18:25

The source highlights Christian McCaffrey's 2017 rookie season as a benchmark for high-usage rookie running backs, noting he caught approximately 80 passes while sharing a backfield with Jonathan Stewart.

Insight page

Cooper Kupp

NegativeRole22:13

Cooper Kupp is cited as the gold standard for the 'Z-wham' receiver role, illustrating the type of versatile, blocking-capable receiver that teams look to emulate.

Insight page

David Montgomery

PositiveValue7:50

Sigmund Bloom is extremely high on David Montgomery, ranking him above Saquon Barkley. Montgomery is a high-value target who fits the Texans' offensive identity, projected for double-digit touchdowns and 40-50 receptions. He is a preferred target over Breece Hall due to his favorable ADP at the 4/5 turn in FFPC leagues. The source dismisses concerns about Woody Marks, viewing him only as a contingent handcuff.

Insight page

De'Von Achane

PositiveValue31:53

The source suggests considering Devon Achane as a draft target if his ADP drops past Rhamondre Stevenson, noting that the overall strength of the offense could help everyone exceed expectations.

Insight page

Garrett Wilson

PositiveValue22:46

Garrett Wilson is a strong fantasy target at his current ninth-round ADP, with the source noting consistent chemistry with Jacoby Brissett. He is considered a cheap alternative target for drafters.

Insight page

George Holani

PositiveSleeper39:29

George Holani is a recommended late-round target in the Seahawks backfield due to his trust factor in pass protection and the passing game. He is expected to see significant work early in the season while Zach Charbonnet is sidelined, making him a usable asset in best ball formats.

Insight page

Isaiah Likely

PositiveUsage48:25

Isaiah Likely is positioned to benefit from a lack of target competition in the Ravens' offense.

Insight page

Javonte Williams

PositiveUsage4:52

Sigmund Bloom is enthusiastic about Javonte Williams, noting he has fully recovered from his knee injury. With a projected improved defense and run-heavy offensive concepts, Williams is expected to see more high-volume games (20+ carries) and increased efficiency. He is a high-upside target at his current ADP of RB16, though the source expresses some skepticism regarding the team's overall coaching situation.

Insight page

Jaxon Smith-Njigba

NegativeUsage3:31

Sigmund Bloom uses Jaxon Smith-Njigba as a benchmark for target load and efficiency expectations for Tampa Bay's receiving corps.

Insight page

Jeremiyah Love

NegativeValue18:24

Jeremiah Love is experiencing an unprecedented slide in redraft ADP from the third to the fourth round, which the source views as a potential overcorrection by a market playing scared. Despite his elite talent, the source questions his ability to overachieve in an Arizona offense reliant on Jacoby Brissett, and notes that players like Garrett Wilson and Marvin Harrison Jr. are currently cheaper alternatives.

Insight page

Joe Mixon

NegativeUsage9:41

Joe Mixon is cited as a historical reference point for the Houston running game, noting that he produced RB6 points per game even when considered to be on the 'scrap heap'.

Insight page

Jonathan Stewart

NegativeRole18:25

Jonathan Stewart is mentioned as the veteran back who shared the backfield with Christian McCaffrey during McCaffrey's rookie season in 2017.

Insight page

Jordyn Tyson

PositiveValue32:35

The source identifies Jordan Tyson as a value target in the Saints offense, noting that his role as the wide receiver two will likely cut into Juwan Johnson's target share.

Insight page

Juwan Johnson

NegativeRole32:54

While the source considers Juwan Johnson a fine structural tight end option, he notes that Johnson may lose target share due to the emphasis on Jordan Tyson; however, he advises not to discount Johnson's role given his history with Tyler Shuck.

Insight page

Keaontay Ingram

PositiveValue41:09

The source suggests a 'double tap' strategy in best ball by drafting Keaontay Ingram in the 7th and 19th rounds, noting he is an interesting redraft target in round seven who could become a starter if other Seahawks backs face attrition.

Insight page

Kendre Miller

PositiveValue48:33

Kendre Miller is projected to rise in ADP as the season approaches in late August.

Insight page

Kenneth Walker III

NegativeValue26:34

The source uses Kenneth Walker III as a draft value benchmark, placing him in the same tier as Chase Brown for running backs taken after Cam Skattebo.

Insight page

Kyren Williams

NegativeBust37:01

The source suggests that Kyren Williams may have already reached his peak as a fantasy entity, noting that while he will remain a high-leverage and third-down back, his touchdown production faces regression risk due to the presence of Blake Corum, who is expected to split early-down work.

Insight page

Lamar Jackson

PositiveUsage47:34

Lamar Jackson has been an unbelievable producer under John Harbaugh, specifically benefiting from the coach's willingness to allow quarterbacks to run near the goal line.

Insight page

Malik Nabers

PositiveValue47:02

Malik Nabers is expected to see his ADP rise significantly as the season approaches.

Insight page

Marvin Harrison Jr.

PositiveBust21:14

The source is skeptical of Marvin Harrison Jr., citing perceived confidence issues and poor practice clips, suggesting he may not meet high rookie expectations and could take years to develop. Despite this, he remains a cheap target for some drafters.

Insight page

Michael Wilson

PositiveSleeper21:39

Michael Wilson is a strong sleeper target in the 8th-9th round due to his established connection with Jacoby Brissett and his versatility in the Z-receiver role. The source compares his archetype to Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp, noting his ability to execute 'Z-wham' blocks.

Insight page

Puka Nacua

NegativeRole22:00

Puka Nacua is used as the stylistic gold standard for the 'Z-wham' receiver role, which involves blocking and high-volume target potential within a Sean McVay-influenced scheme.

Insight page

Rhamondre Stevenson

PositiveRole42:27

Sigmund Bloom argues Rhamondre Stevenson is clearly the trusted, assignment-sound starter in the Patriots backfield, evidenced by his heavy usage in the playoffs and current load management status to ensure health. Bloom considers him a better value than TreVeyon Henderson, noting that coaches prioritize assignment-sound play.

Insight page

Ryan Flournoy

PositiveBreakout5:21

Sigmund Bloom identifies Ryan Flournoy as a player to watch for his potential to stress defenses as a vertical threat alongside established receivers like George Pickens and CeeDee Lamb.

Insight page

Saquon Barkley

NegativeValue9:28

The source explicitly prefers drafting David Montgomery over Saquon Barkley, implying Barkley is currently overvalued. Additionally, Barkley is used as a cautionary historical comparison for high-drafted running backs, suggesting that top-10 draft capital does not guarantee immediate fantasy success in all environments.

Insight page

Travis Etienne

NegativeValue48:53

Travis Etienne is viewed as potentially overrated at his fourth-round ADP, with the threat of Alvin Kamara's involvement limiting his ceiling, despite some early draft market interest based on the expectation of a Kellen Moore-led offensive improvement.

Insight page

TreVeyon Henderson

NegativeBust44:02

Sigmund Bloom argues TreVeyon Henderson is overvalued compared to Rhamondre Stevenson, noting that offensive coordinators prioritize assignment-sound play over explosive runs. Bloom suggests Henderson's ADP should be lower than Blake Corum's.

Insight page

Trey McBride

PositiveValue19:50

Trey McBride is considered an elite tight end option in the Arizona offense, currently being drafted in the second-to-third round turn. He is viewed as a high-end asset, with the source using him as a price benchmark against other receivers.

Insight page

Tyjae Spears

PositiveSleeper11:58

The source identifies Tyjae Spears as a preferred waiver wire target over Woody Marks if David Montgomery were to miss time, citing Spears' more natural fit in the running game and ability to handle a feature workload.

Insight page

Tyler Allgeier

NegativeRole18:38

Tyler Allgeier is described as a veteran who actively takes carries away from high-drafted rookie running backs, as demonstrated by his role alongside Bijan Robinson.

Insight page

Woody Marks

NegativeRole11:14

The source dismisses the narrative of Woody Marks splitting first-team reps with David Montgomery as 'noise.' Marks is viewed as a contingent handcuff rather than a threat to Montgomery's volume, and the source notes durability concerns from last season.

Insight page

Zach Charbonnet

NegativeProjection40:08

The source expects Zach Charbonnet to return around Halloween or Thanksgiving, but warns that his fantasy ceiling is limited due to the committee nature of the Seahawks backfield and the presence of other options like George Holani.

0:05>> Finding league winners in the traditional running back dead zone, Theo gremminger Rotowire lead fantasy analyst joined today by the great Sigmund Bloom
0:13of Football Guys. This is the first time that I've had Sig on Rotowire, which is really exciting for me cuz I've
0:19podcasted with you so many times Sig and I always give you like a little shoutout on this one that like you were a big influence on me
0:26even before I I started producing content. Love your podcast style and you know, hopefully I think we should share some of the the optimism on
0:33certain players every year and try to take a glass half full on on certain situations. But I'm going to get a go
0:39off the top rope here Sig before we even get started on the player takes. If you could know the final stats of any player
0:46this season, who would it be?
0:49>> [snorts] >> I The player This is a really tough question. It's a great question by the way. I'm I'm stalling so I can think of
0:57a good answer. No, not really. Kind of.
1:00It's a great question cuz it what it implicates Theo is not just the player, but the way that fantasy football outcomes are interrelated on a team and
1:10how knowing the outcomes for some players implicitly tell you a big clue on the outcome of other players. And the player I'm going to pick here is
1:22Baker Mayfield.
1:23And go ahead.
1:24>> No, I like that one. I I think it's the first time I've heard this answer. I've asked five people and most people are
1:29gravitating towards guys drafted early, but you go with Baker. I love it.
1:34>> Well, what we saw and this is one where really I'm looking for my own priors to be confirmed, but that Tampa offense was
1:42so good. Yeah, you know, Liam Cohen, etc. etc. It was so good. And then everybody got hurt. Wide receivers got hurt, offensive line got hurt, Baker got
1:50hurt, Josh McReary got fired. He's up in the Eagles now. They hired Jack Robinson from Atlanta.
1:57but they have a combination of running backs and wide receivers that can really put stress on defenses and they're all
2:08fifth round except for Ebuka, but Ebuka has the one chance to be like a JSN this year is in terms of target load and
2:14efficiency.
2:16You know, all of these guys are cheap.
2:18All of these guys you know, if Baker is under priced the way that I suspect he is then at least two wide receivers are,
2:25at least one running back is. You know, this is and I was tempted to say Trevor Lawrence for the same reason, Theo, cuz
2:32it the quarterback is going to give you a temperature check, if you will, on how the whole offense does in the efficiency
2:40in the offense. That's the other thing you're going to see like touchdown to interception ratio and if if you know, Caleb Williams will be another good name
2:48here. But I think that's the key are these offenses that we're looking to take a step forward this year and the
2:53quarterback will tell us whether they do.
2:55>> Yeah, I mean that it's a fantastic one and with Baker Mayfield we've we've got now like the the subplot where he's
3:01motivated because of of like anger at a situation and I was a little surprised that the team is not trying to rectify
3:08that and and get a contract situation figured out. It feels like Baker could be like a red hot free agent when we get
3:14to next off season. Um it's it's a really interesting one, but when you look at the offensive ecosystem, there's players there and
3:21there's also a top five offensive line.
3:23So, we we know that that offensive line when healthy is truly elite. So, I think there's it's all kind of lining up for
3:30for Baker to to at least really beat his ADP and like you said, potentially rise a couple players up with him. Let's talk
3:37about a running back that you are very enthusiastic about and that's Javonte Williams. Williams is priced in about in like the third round. It Some people are
3:46sort of viewing him as as a structural pick, but for you it seems like he's a lot more.
3:52>> Well, we get a little bit uh over our skis on evaluating running backs. Again, you know, there's going to be a theme emerging from almost all of
4:02my answers here, Theo, and it is the interrelated nature of fantasy football outcomes.
4:08And it's funny how we do like I see some leagues have a team kicker, you know, we have team defense. Uh running back, like
4:14starting running back, is kind of like a team position cuz it's going to harvest the value created by the offensive line,
4:21by the efficiency of the offense, by the execution.
4:24And this Dallas ecosystem for the running game is just primed for a takeoff. Uh Clayton Adams, he's going to be a
4:34head coach next year, 2 years from now.
4:37You know, his run concepts, uh the guys, the maulers, the bouncers who kick you out of the club, you know, Houston's trying to do the
4:47same thing. Uh these guys fit that mentality.
4:52Javonte Williams, we saw he got everything back last year from that knee injury he had that seemed like it was going to be career-altering.
4:59And the defense is going to be a lot better. They bring in Christian Parker.
5:03They make a lot of additions on the defensive side of the ball. That's going to be so many more, you know, Theo, you
5:09can look through Javonte Williams' game uh log last year and you can see some games where he got like 12 carries, 13
5:15carries, 15 carries. You saw some where he got 23. There'll be a lot more of those 23s this year. And they're going to be more
5:21efficient. They're going to have more opportunities to score. I think Ryan Flournoy is a player that we need to watch not only for his potential fantasy
5:29outcomes, but how much it stresses a defense to have another vertical threat when you already have to deal with Pickens and Lamb.
5:36So, I love this ecosystem and I think that Javonte Williams is the where you can take advantage of the highest output for the cheapest price.
5:47>> Running back 16 in ADP, which puts him right alongside guys like Kyren Williams, Josh Jacobs.
5:54He's probably if if the volume is similar to last year, I agree with you, he could smash double-digit touchdowns.
5:59The receiving work was strong. Should we also be viewing Jaden Blue into like the elite handcuff category? You talk about the quality of the offense.
6:08Is Blue another player that we should be moving up or do you think there's potentially other cuffs in Dallas that that you want to keep an eye on?
6:17>> He is poised to be the most valuable back if Javonte Williams goes down, but in a lightning and a thunder and
6:24lightning scenario with And it'll be interesting to see if the Cowboys keep all three of those guys because they all you know, have some
6:34investment by the team and seem to be good fits. If not, look for one of those guys to end up on another active roster
6:39because they've got an embarrassment of riches at the backup running back where these guys are pushing each other and other teams are going to be wanting
6:49a back that has you know, they're not obviously Blue and this is an important thing to remember about Blue. Last year it was maturity,
6:57focus and what you heard this off season was a direct response to that from the coverage, right? Like now he's showing
7:05the dedication. Now, I think night and day came up and you have the straight-line speed.
7:11You have his ability to really make those explosive plays where maybe Javonte Williams doesn't have that extra gear.
7:20But if Williams were to go down, I think that you wouldn't want the team wouldn't want to put Blue in a situation. I think
7:26he had 16 carries in the last game last year, you know, maybe that's about where he would top out. I don't know if they
7:30want to use him for short yardage. I think they like Film Auffa and I I Malik Davis just seems to be like a guy
7:36that every time he gets an opportunity shows that he belongs in the NFL. But I think you're right to focus on that
7:42backup situation, Theo, because again, if we like the ecosystem, then we're going to like anybody who gets to be featured in it.
7:49>> You mentioned David Well, you mentioned Houston.
7:52>> Right.
7:52>> So, and I know you're well ahead on David Montgomery. I've moved David Montgomery up in my rankings, and then I
7:58go over and take a look before we record together like, where does Sig have him over over at Footballguys? And you can
8:03get access to my rankings. I did a huge update. Uh you can use the code Theo20, get 20% off of any Rotowire sub. If you
8:10enjoy these casts and these this YouTube programming, you're going to enjoy the stuff we're putting out over on the site. But, Sig, you also you dropped
8:17like the Bloom 250, and I go check it out right before we record, and I'm like, "Whoa. Uh Sig is is way higher
8:24than I am on David Montgomery. Uh this has uh become a flag plant for player for you, and I know we talked
8:30about him a couple months ago, and we were both enthusiastic about it, but it feels like you are really really flag
8:35planting this one.
8:37>> Well, look. This is one of the things uh Here here's the other theme. If there's going to be a theme for my appearance,
8:43first appearance on your show at Rotowire, uh is that ADP is going to be wrong.
8:50Like really wrong on some significant percentage of players. You know, I should probably go and just run the numbers and see, you know, how many
8:59players ADP was off by like some some sort of margin.
9:03Because the burn people at the stake mentality, when they say ADP is going to be significantly wrong about a player, and
9:12I'm willing to draft that player in a way that shows I'm going to draft that player closer to where I think they are
9:18actually valued than their ADP values them, that's something we should be encouraging more of in analysis. We should be encouraged more of that
9:25instead of shouting down this. Cuz for Javonte Williams for me, it uh Theo was saying, "I'll take him over Saquon Barkley." And guess what? I'll take
9:33David Montgomery over Saquon Barkley, too. you.
9:37Because if we're looking at the comparison of environments, okay?
9:41The Houston environment for the running game, we saw Joe Mixon when he was on the scrap heap got uh running back six points per game,
9:51okay? Montgomery also is coming from a situation where he wasn't used as a feature back. He's got a little more tread on the tires. We know he has a
10:01feature back mentality. We know he has the durability to hold up over an entire season. Uh so, to me, when you look at how the
10:10Texans are built, they go out and get David Montgomery, and they were not the only team in on him, by the way. They go out and get
10:16David Montgomery as a a player that is like a spirit animal for the way they want their offense to impose its will on
10:26the opposing defense.
10:28So, I just look at this as a guy that they're going to work as much as they can. He's going to be set up for
10:32double-digit touchdowns.
10:35And he's also one of those running backs that can catch 40 or 50 passes.
10:39Uh I just think the market is completely wrong. I think the market is pricing him, Theo, as if the reason his workload
10:45was reduced in Detroit was because he's in on decline. Because he was one of the best running backs in the league.
10:51>> Yeah, it's interesting. And there's also been like And I think a lot of times this this time of year, it's great that
10:57we have this constant flow of information coming in with all these beat reporters on X and and other platforms, but I think sometimes it one
11:06one beat reporter's opinion or maybe one assistant coach's like sort of throwaway line gets amplified. So, we had a few-day period where it was Woody Marks
11:15and David Montgomery are going to split reps at first-team reps narrative, and it's it seems kind of like a a really
11:23kind of ridiculous one for me, where I think it could end up being something like a 70-30 thing with Marks being more
11:29of a uh, like contingent upside handcuff rather than like a real threat to the volume approach. Uh, do you see a
11:35scenario where we could be wrong here and Houston is going to look to really get Marks involved or is it just that
11:42sort of just noise out there right now uh, in the in the in the universe sig rather than something we need to
11:47actually pay attention to?
11:49>> That's just noise. That's just noise.
11:51Um, Woody Marks, when he was pressed into more duty last year, spent a lot of time in the blue medical tent. By the end of
11:58the year, Tyjae Spears Theo, if we're wrong about anything, it may be that assuming Tyjae Spears Jordan holds off like Britain Brooks, um,
12:09Noah Whittington who they picked up and nice with Sarmy kind of back undrafted free agent. Assuming Tyjae Spears Jordan makes this final roster Theo, if David
12:18Montgomery goes down, I can already tell you preview my waiver wire show will be everyone's going to go get Woody Marks.
12:24You go get Tyjae Spears Jordan. Because Jordan looked like a much more natural fit in the running game at the end of
12:28the year. And Jordan also held up over an entire game on a feature back workload. So, I I just think that Woody
12:37Marks showed them like if you ask if you plug Woody Marks in a Houston offense and have him do the job you want the
12:43lead back to do, he's just not built for that. And this is not a team that I think you're going to see, you know,
12:48with a Danny Woodhead Austin Ekeler kind of space back role. It's just not their personality on offense. David Montgomery, that fits their personality
12:58on offense.
12:59>> Let's talk about Breece Hall because Breece Hall, one of the first uh, shows I did here was dark horse league winners
13:05and Breece Hall's come up in ADP since I dropped that show, but I'm still enthusiastic about drafting him and having exposure to him.
13:13Uh, it's [snorts] a player that the market was extremely high on years ago, had an RB2 overall finish and I think
13:20that the offensive ecosystem in New York is going to be the best he's had in quite some time. Extended Joe Tippmann,
13:26there's some offensive line quality and looking at last year he had 17 runs over 15 yards. He had eight that went up for
13:3420 plus his first thousand yard rushing season as a pro and potential that this year we could see the receiving work
13:41trend back to the numbers we saw a little earlier in his career. I'm in on Hall. Are you or is he more of a price
13:48correctly type guy for you?
13:50>> Well, he's in that same part of the draft Theo as Javonte Williams and and David Montgomery. And I won't say that
13:58they either of them are equal to his talent. And that's the thing. If you want to take Breece Hall probably in the
14:03third round, you know, I ideally in the early fourth. And who knows? Maybe David Montgomery falls to the fifth. I mean, I'm taking him in the fourth in
14:11every draft. But here's the thing. You know, it's a bet purely on talent and demonstrated ceiling in the past and I
14:16get that. And some of the factors in his favor would be like you said the offensive line. Although they they have a young offensive line and
14:25solid offensive line. They did have good health on the offensive line last year.
14:28Not that it made that much of a difference. And Frank Reich who you hope Tanner Engstrand they brought in a Ben
14:34Johnson disciple last year that didn't work out.
14:37You hope that Frank Reich is able to just come in and say, "Hey, like I'm going to teach you we're going
14:43to just have an offense that features the talent that we have here.
14:47We have an experienced quarterback and it's going to be pretty simple and straightforward. I.E. You're going to pay the running I'm sorry, the running
14:55fact that you paid, you're going to truly feature in a way that we haven't seen consistently since that big year.
15:02But I can't get behind Breece Hall over the likes of Javonte Williams or David Montgomery again because of the situation. And when I say the
15:10situation here, I'm looking at Pittsburgh the same way, kind of side eyed. I mean, how many times has this really worked, Theo? How many times has
15:16it really work that the head coach is a lame duck and you bring in some offensive coordinator who's, let's face it like he's
15:24he's now on his farewell tour of being an NFL coach. You know what I'm saying?
15:28But Geno Smith how often does this actually work out? Aaron Rodgers and Mike McCarthy let's run it back. You know, if I'm looking for overachievers,
15:36if I'm looking for players that are going to exceed expectations, I feel like these living in the past offenses are not a
15:44place to do it.
15:45>> You make you make a really strong case for this one and certainly like you know, Frank Reich doesn't make anybody
15:51go go crazy and excited. It's really just a bet on talent one for me with Hall. Uh Geno though I think when you compare
15:59versus some of the quarterback play that Breece Hall has had to like endure, I think he could be stabilizing. But yeah,
16:05let us know in the in the chat, you know, are you on Breece Hall versus David Montgomery, Javonte Williams?
16:11Where are you at on this one? They're priced close enough now like Hall and Javonte are pretty close within like five six spots of each other. David
16:19Montgomery though goes you know, down in the traditional dead zone. Sig, you mentioned it. He's going right at that like four five turn in recent FFPC
16:28leagues. So, that's the sort of the biggest takeaway ADP edge that Sig is sort of stamped here so far is David
16:35Montgomery and I know there's a lot of very smart people on David Montgomery right now as well. So, you're definitely in good company there Sig. Let's talk
16:43about Jeremiah Love cuz I had your guy Matt Waldman on and at the time we talked about Jeremiah Love and it was
16:51I I haven't wanted to become like the the guy to cape up for Jeremiah Love this year. But he's falling and falling
16:58and falling to the point that I I I try to make a bull case for him because I feel like the market is playing a little
17:05bit scared with an elite talent player albeit in a really weird situation. But it feels like an overcorrection with Love based on what happened last year
17:16with Ashton Jeanty to drafters, but we've seen Jeremiah Love sort of living in the late third round and now becoming like a fourth round pick. I've asked a
17:26bunch of people who've done this for a while, to me this is unprecedented to see a running back who's drafted in the
17:32top 10 sort of treated this way by the ADP and treated this way by drafters.
17:38Where are you at with him? It's obviously a player that you loved in the the dynasty rookie draft season and sort
17:46of the pre-draft process. You talked about you know how enthusiastic you were about him the talent. Now we're here and there's a huge disconnect between
17:55redrafted ADP and the dynasty streets, but undeniable talent.
18:00>> Yeah, well you just mentioned Breece Hall, right? I mean I know Breece Hall wasn't a top 10 pick in the draft.
18:06Um, but I'm worried or Saquon Barkley who was a top 10 pick, you know, these are the rough seas of ahead of Jeremiah
18:14Love and for one-to-one apples-to-apples kind of comparison, Theo. And this is ADP showing the fantasy football hive mind has learned because Christian
18:25McCaffrey in 2017 was a top 10 pick joined Jonathan Stewart. And McCaffrey caught like 80 passes as a rookie. You can say, well Jeremiah
18:32Love my catch 80 passes. Um, he was like a a mid-running back to you in PPR leagues, you know, like a 15 point a
18:38game player. Uh, and then Bijan Robinson joined by Tyler Allgeier. Enter Tyler Allgeier this is what he does, you know, I'm going to take carries away from an
18:48inferior top 10 drafted running back and the team has paid him and the team is going to use him.
18:56Uh, maybe not to the extent they would have if they hadn't drafted Jeremiah Love, but you're looking at Jeremiah Love and that year Bijan Robinson his
19:02rookie year drafted in the Now, Bijan Robinson was drafted in the first round of at pre-draft leagues that year, Theo. So
19:10So Love falling to the third round is like people that can remember, yeah, Tyler Allgeier, that messes up a top-10 drafted rookie's outlook. Um and then
19:17the other thing is just again, Arizona.
19:19Okay.
19:20Look at Arizona's schedule.
19:22So at what point does the ownership lean on Michael Florio and say, we can't keep starting Jacoby Brissett, we're 0 and 5.
19:300 and 6.
19:310 and 7.
19:33Yeah. 0 and 8. At what point do we say they Minchew, Carson Wentz, Keeton Slovis, something else. We can't do this. We already know Jacoby Brissett
19:43can't win games.
19:45The other thing I want to say about the Arizona offense in general to you is if you look at the ADP outlook of this
19:50offense, it's very strange because you have an elite tight end drafted two-three turn in McBride, an elite running back talent at least drafted
19:59three-four turn in Jeremiah Love, and then where's Harrison Alex, sixth-seventh round, Michael Wilson, eighth-ninth round, and yet Jacoby Brissett's one of the last quarterbacks
20:08drafted. What does that tell you?
20:10You know, we have low confidence in the quarterback, but somehow we have reasonable confidence that this offense is going to support Look, you can look
20:17across other offenses of how many other offenses have four players in the top 10 rounds. It ain't many.
20:23It ain't many. And we're So we're drafting the two players as if this is a very good offense, but the quarterback
20:29is a weak link.
20:30So again, I just look at the environment and I say if Jeremiah Love is going to be an overachiever, how is it going to
20:35happen in this environment?
20:37>> Not to get off topic, but the one Arizona Cardinal that you are enthusiastic about right now, and we'll get back to the running backs in a
20:44second, but you are you and Matt Waldman are both uh flag planting at cost the potential for Michael Wilson this season. Talk about that a little bit,
20:55Sig.
20:56>> I mean You know, Theo, maybe I I'm just It's just early onset dementia at 51, right?
21:03But I look at some of the takes uh in fantasy football land and I feel like this is holding on to something that
21:12we've already seen demonstrated is not going to happen with Marvin Harrison Jr.
21:16I mean Marvin Harrison Jr. can still be a very good NFL player. He's never going to be the player we envisioned him to
21:23be.
21:24Or if he is it's two or three years down the line. Look, number one, Marvin Harrison Jr. has confidence problems.
21:31I mean this almost seems incontrovertible if you look at his clips. Number two, Michael Wilson's telling us. I love Greg Cosell
21:39index. Cosell index says he's isolating these things, okay?
21:43When coaches say it, Michael Wilson is telling us the X was the focus in Drew Petzing's offense. File that away for Detroit by
21:50the way cuz that's where Petzing is now.
21:52The X was the focus. I was playing X when Marvin Harrison Jr. was out. Now I'm the Z and it's going to be
21:59different.
22:00Okay? Michael Wilson, and remember Michael Floor comes from that Sean McVay tree with a Puka Nacua kind of player.
22:07My man Dustin, got to mention him almost every show I do now on all 22 FF bringing up the idea of the Z wham role.
22:13The Z receiver who can throw a wham block, Puka Nacua, Cooper Kupp, right?
22:18This is Michael Wilson and Michael Wilson and Jacoby Brissett have trust.
22:23They have this connection. They have, you know, when you watch these clips of Michael Marvin Harrison dropping passes.
22:29I mean I don't care about saying that he's washed. He's lost it. He does have confidence issues, okay?
22:35But when you watch the difference with Michael Wilson's practice reps, what you notice Theo is just synchronicity, you know, just being in
22:42tune with the the pass in the air.
22:46And I think that Brissett and Wilson demonstrated that over and over again.
22:51And you just don't bet against that in fantasy football when it costs like a ninth round pick.
22:57>> Yeah, it's a really interesting one.
22:58There's been some bullish takes on Wilson and then there's a whole 'nother contingent that wants to bet on Marvin Harrison Jr. this year.
23:06And those are the two that are cheap, I mean cheaper than trying to bet on McBride or Jeremiah Love right now if
23:12you want access to this. I think a lot of the enthusiasm with with Arizona tends to we got Jacoby Brissett back. We
23:20saw how effective this offense could be based on past volume and the negative game scripts. I think the big the big
23:26threat is that that could all go away very quickly. I think Brissett, like you said, even with them giving him a
23:33contract extension here and giving him a raise, he's still got a ton of pressure to win.
23:39I mean, does he have to be like two and four sig to hold on to it? Like at what point? We don't know. We and I think
23:45there's a lot of beat reporters who would like to see a change. It's a big disconnect between the fantasy community and like the Arizona Cardinals beat
23:52reporter community that just wants them to go full on, let's see what Carson Beck can do.
23:58>> And listen, you can look at Jacoby Brissett's stats last year, Theo.
24:05And if you strip away the stats when they were down 17 points or more, he's the exact same quarterback he's always been.
24:12He's the exact same quarterback he's always been. He did not turn into a different quarterback last year. He just faced prevent defenses and basically
24:21almost like no one was minding the shop.
24:22You know, he got to go be like a kid trying to win a stuffed animal with a state fair and just go out there and
24:27set records, you know?
24:29Like you said, that is a really difficult thing to count on persisting with a new coaching staff, an ownership that seems to want to meddle,
24:38and this idea that we're going to think that a team being so bad, like embarrassingly bad, is something sticky.
24:47Like why are we building our fantasy football team's foundation on a team sucking to an spectacular level?
24:56>> Okay, so I'll go with another sort of uninspiring offensive coordinator potentially, but a head coach that has had a ton of success and some pieces on
25:05offense that we think are pretty talented that are younger and an improved offensive line.
25:10How are the vibes for you with Cam Skattebo right now? He's a player that I drafted last night. I I feel pretty good about this situation.
25:19I mean, average 19 touches per game last year, showed us the ability to put up spike weeks. There's been an improvement with
25:27the Francis Mauigoa selection, draft maybe the the draft's best the best run blocker in the entire draft potentially with Mauigoa, and then
25:36you've got the kind of the stability for the franchise with Harbaugh coming over there and a mobile quarterback in Jackson Dart and Malik Nabers looks like
25:44he's going to beat expectations for the overall offense.
25:48I like the value that Cam Skattebo is presenting. Goes a little bit behind like the Javonte Williams, Breece Hall guys. Usually, we're looking at him as
25:57like sort of a fourth-rounder. Again, not a head-to-head versus David Montgomery. I know you're ahead on Montgomery, but where are you at on
26:04Skattebo just straight up and and your vibes with him and like your outlook for him this season?
26:12>> [snorts] >> Yeah, this one is I like to file under a category I call like I won't talk you out of taking him. I won't talk you out
26:19of taking Cam Skattebo in the fourth round. I think if he doesn't get hurt, Theo, we're probably looking at him as a
26:24second-round pick. We're probably looking at him, you know, a healthy Cam Skattebo is someone we're looking around the, you know, Ken Walker, Chase Brown.
26:35I'm not necessarily ahead of them, but maybe they're like one of the first running backs after them because he does contribute a lot as a
26:41receiver, because he is a trusted goal-line back, and was kind of fun what Dart and Skattebo had going. Right? It was like Jersey Shore. People who were
26:49old enough to remember Jersey Shore on MTV, you know, it was like the Jersey Shore offense. They were just having fun
26:54out there. And Brian Daboll, I think, was like letting them play football the way that they wanted to, just have some
27:02sort of ethos, something to rally around after Malik Nabers went down.
27:06And now what I'm observing is Everybody saw the John Harbaugh clip, right? You play for the Giants.
27:14The New York Giants.
27:16The New York Come on, you know.
27:19Um we'll see. You know, this may be one of those things, Theo, where we find out that Steve Bisciotti decided to unceremoniously let John
27:29Harbaugh go after everything that he had built in Baltimore, cuz the game has kind of passed him by.
27:35You know, just as just just just the new generation of NFL players, the new mentality around the NFL, like John Harbaugh is not going to
27:43click. Matt Nagy, you know, not going to click. And it sounds like they're really trying to rebuild Jackson Dart. You know, it's not like they're trying to
27:51change him. I don't want to say they're going to square peg round hole him, but it doesn't sound like they're going to
27:56deploy him the way that Brian Daboll did last year.
27:59So, we'll see. This team's also There are whispers, Theo, about Najee Harris and the Giants. Take that for They are going to be run-first team.
28:07That's another good thing for Skowronek.
28:10Uh but I just feel like there's a big range of outcomes for Skowronek. There's a big range of outcomes for the Giants.
28:15And based on early what I'm seeing out of Giants camp, I'm I'm not fired up to invest in this offense right now.
28:22>> Yeah, it's a really interesting offense to try to price out, especially because Malik Nabers is going to rise way up in
28:29ADP. Jackson Dart feels like a a player that has been really easy to mix in in like best ball builds, but if there's
28:37been like some negative data with Matt Nagy's use of allowing his quarterback to run right around the goal line, um which is sort of keep it in the back of
28:45your head and obviously there's some fantastic data with uh uh Harbaugh allowing quarterbacks to run around the goal line. I mean you got Lamar Jackson
28:54who has been unbelievable producer under Harbaugh. So the Giants I agree they were really interesting offense to price out. You've got Isaiah Likely who I
29:05think could benefit well from from the lack of target competition. Um but yeah Neighbors is going to move way way up
29:13and I feel like Kendre Miller is also going to rise up in ADP as we get headed towards the end of August and stuff. So
29:19we'll keep an eye on that one.
29:21Let's go with uh question you're in New Orleans right now and Sig you're you're like Mr. New Orleans and you got a vibe
29:28on on the Saints and and usually a good beat on on how things are looking there.
29:33Uh where are you at on Travis Etienne? Is he a little bit overrated right now? Is the threat of Alvin Kamara real in terms
29:41of limiting what a season a ceiling outcome could look like for Etienne?
29:47Should he be drafted a little bit lower like right now he's pretty close to a number of the running backs we've talked
29:52about if not higher. He goes actually ahead of David Montgomery um in FFPC right now by about 10 spots.
30:01He's sort of settled in as a locked in fourth rounder. It feels a little bit high if Alvin Kamara is going to get
30:08first team reps in training camp. Even a older Kamara is still going to catch a number of passes.
30:16>> Yeah and A- Achane.
30:18>> Achane there you go. I know I know I got to say Achane now huh?
30:21>> I'm down here in Louisiana so you know that's just how down here they would say that French name Achane. Um listen
30:30this situation Theo again I think we need to stop focusing on the names and the individuals in the backfields and we
30:38need to look at structure.
30:40And the Saints see this as we have two three-down running backs. We have two running backs who can play on all three
30:47downs, okay?
30:48Now, they did pay Achane more, but when it came right down to it, they could have released Kamara. Um they could have
30:55traded him maybe.
30:57Uh they didn't need to keep him and they did. And he's a lifetime Saint. I don't think he was going to play for any other
31:03team than the Saints, maybe the Broncos.
31:06And we have to remember that Achane, I think he would have six six receiving touchdowns last year, right?
31:12>> Yep.
31:13>> I mean, Kamara's going to be the preferred receiving option. Achane is a competent receiving option. He's not Kamara in the passing game.
31:20Uh Achane is not a great runner between the tackles. He's not a great short-yardage runner.
31:26And I don't think that this situation, Theo, is different than De'Andre Swift and Khalil Mond guy or Rhamondre Stevenson and Trevion Henderson, you
31:37know, at at best at best. And I don't think that Achane has a rounded skill set well-rounded skill set that Swift
31:44and Stevenson has shown.
31:46And I don't know that the running back is going to be as much of a part of how teams move the ball uh for the New
31:53Orleans as it is for New England uh and for Chicago. So, I just think that ADP, like we're we're way ahead of
31:59ourselves. I guess everyone assumed Kamara was going to be released or they assumed Achane was some sort of true lead back. He's neither. He hasn't
32:05really shown that he can be either so far uh in his career as far as a true 300 350 touch kind of guy that an
32:14offense rests on the shoulders of, no. I I just think that th- this is there's a handful of players I would say that
32:20there's just no way they're going to fall far enough. Like i- if A- if Achane starts falling past Rhamondre Stevenson, that's where I'll probably consider him.
32:26It may not happen.
32:27>> And and it's an interesting interesting takeaway, and I think you're right. I think that the one thing about early drafting, we get early information about
32:35how the market is, but it's sort of establishes ADP and ADP will change, but it doesn't overly change. I think ETN
32:44has really benefited from being an early like target for people where they assume Kamara was gone and also he benefits from the enthusiasm
32:54levels people have with the Kellen Moore year two Saints offense really taking off thing. I think the way to play the
33:00Saints offense is if you like the Saints offense, go with Chris Olave and Jordan Tyson at cost. I think both are are are
33:08priced well to return value and then certainly Tyler Shuck as like a late quarterback option. You can take him as your QB2. Certainly in Best Ball Tyler
33:18Shuck makes a lot of sense, but those two wide receivers, I think Juwan Johnson's fine. I mean if you're looking for a structural tight end, but I think
33:25he loses out a good amount this year with the emphasis on the the wide receiver two in Tyson and we know Olave last year 100
33:33plus catches, 150 plus targets. Where are you at on your enthusiasm level for the passing game in New Orleans and the
33:41Kellen Moore offense really in year two?

34:42>> Oh, people should be really hot. This could be the breakout offense of this year. And maybe that's your best argument for A-Chan. It's just like the
34:47offense is so good that everybody exceeds expectations. Uh because what you saw them do around Tyler Shuck was just beautiful. They hit on a second
34:57round pick. They get a guy, comes in halfway through his rookie year, and the game's not too big for him. The game uh
35:02the team rallies around him. You know, we saw him win as a scrambler. He's a very talented athlete, too. He's a Brock
35:09Purdy type in terms of his athleticism as a runner. We saw him win in a mud bog down in Tampa with uh scrambling
35:16ability. We saw him win with throws outside of structure in Carolina. And then, of course, you see them go and they invest in Jordan Tyson. They get
35:24Bryce Lance. They get Oscar Delp. They uh sign David Edwards, a very good They had one hole on the offensive line. They
35:30do need Eric McCoy to stay healthy. I mean, this is a team where the center is important. And Eric McCoy staying
35:35healthy, you know, hopefully we can get 15, 16, 17 games out of him. But this offense should take a big step forward,
35:41and they're telling you with the personnel moves that they want a vertical offense. They want an aggressive offense. They want an offense
35:46that's really going to stress out the opposing defense. And week one, you've got a game where they go up to Detroit.
35:52Woo! What's the over-under on that one, man? Um so, you know, Tyler Shuck as a committee QB QBBC approach and one
36:00quarterback, and he's your lead off hitter for week one against Detroit.
36:02Yes. If you can't get Jared Goff, of course, sign me up.
36:06>> Let's go with uh some DFS lineup, Sig.
36:08We could already just throw one in there and go with some Detroit go with Jamaal Williams Gibbs with uh with a with a
36:13bunch of Saints or or or vice versa.
36:16>> back, yeah. Juwan Johnson. And by the way, on Juwan Johnson, remember he played with Chuck all the way back in
36:21like 2019 at Oregon. And I think um I don't remember which one of the Saints beat writers it was saying like don't
36:27discount Juwan Johnson as someone who's going to maintain a pretty strong role in this passing game. So, I mean this is
36:35more of like week two waiver wire kind of stuff. Don't assume it's a mirage if he has a big game. They're even Devin
36:41Vele if Kyren can't stay healthy. He was putting up some numbers with Shox as a rookie. Now they've had a whole off
36:47season to say we've got a quarterback.
36:49Let's build around him.
36:51>> We've had three straight years with at least I mean unbelievable touchdown run for Kyren Williams. Three straight years with with at least 13 touchdowns.
37:02Is this the year that we finally see a little bit of regression due to the fact that Blake Corum is just good at
37:08football? Could this finally be the year that the Sean McVay doesn't really produce with two running backs narrative could go out the window? Or is there
37:18another scenario where Corum could outscore him? Where are you at on the Kyren Williams versus Blake Corum dilemma the drafters have right now?
37:29>> I think your question frames it well and the simple answer that I could just give and move on is if you're going to take a
37:35Rams running back this year, Corum is the one to take.
37:38And I'll unpack that by saying you're right that Kyren Williams is we've seen his peak as a fantasy entity unless Corum gets hurt, but we can say that
37:48about so many running backs.
37:50And he will continue to be a third down back. He will continue to be a high leverage situation back. He will
37:54probably score more touchdowns than Corum. But there continues to be buzz that at least on early downs Corum will get as much work as Williams. He's
38:04slimmer. We saw him back at Michigan. I mean if you're talking about preferred short yardage back, then he's that guy.
38:10But the other thing here is the addition of Miles Garrett, Theo. You know, when you think of the kinds of game
38:17situations that Miles Garrett's going to create for the Rams, who's going to be the running back on the on the field?
38:23You know, when they're up three touchdowns in the second half.
38:27That we're going to have more chances for Blake Corum to have run outs where he gets to 20 carries because they've
38:33just buried the opponent.
38:36>> Yeah, it's really interesting because I think there's this scenario where Blake Corum has like 950 rushing yards and like 10 touchdowns. And he doesn't have
38:46to get there with pass catching at all.
38:47He's just a hammer. And it's a defense that is so dominant that the second half of games, it's just Blake Corum, let's
38:54run the clock out. I I think that's that's a really good take.
38:58Let's continue sort of running back relay here. Sig, we can pause it real quick. I'll mark it.
39:03>> No, I'm good. I'm good.
39:04>> Okay. Let me smart this down.
39:06>> Sorry. Everyone, I like that though cuz it creates suspense for if you leave it in for the viewers. They're like, what's
39:10going on? Is the serial killer at the door?
39:12>> That's right. That's right. Someone's >> It was neighborhood kids, by the way.
39:15Neighborhood >> Neighborhood kids. There you go. There you go. Let's Let's go with um Let's talk about the quickly the Seattle
39:21backfield. If you're going to draft a Seahawks running back, is there a preferred choice here when we add cost into the equation?
39:29>> If I'm drafting one, it's probably George Holani in the last round.
39:34Because J'Darien Price, I like J'Darien Price.
39:39I like the situation with Seattle because they're winning team with a good defense. However, he's not a typical first-round running back. He was a
39:46backup for his entire college career.
39:48And getting on the field, you need trust. And trust is a word they use a lot about George Holani. And this
39:53backfield clearly is a committee by structure, by design.
39:58So, you really would need J'Darien Price to be um just maximizing with big plays uh because you also have Zach Charbonnet
40:08coming back. I don't know Halloween, Thanksgiving-ish.
40:12He's going to be the goal. We've seen that he's a preferred back at the goal line once he's healthy enough to take
40:16that role. So, somewhere in there, you know, this is all about windows like my co-host Cecil says. You know, there might be a four- or six-week window
40:23where Zach Charbonnet Price is a nice like upside running back to play. But, if he doesn't show trust, if he has
40:29fumbles or misses a blitz pick up or something like that, they're fine with Emanuel Wilson as an early down option.
40:35And they're certainly fine with George Holani as a passing down two-minute drill option. He already did it. And remember, they opened the season with
40:42New England. Uh so, you're going to see you you don't want Zach Charbonnet Price against New England's defense see on the job if he's going to be able
40:51cuz, you know, you your quarterback gets hurt or something like that. We're going to see a lot of George Holani week one.
40:56And then, depending how it goes, maybe a lot in week two. I don't know. But, I do know that Zach Charbonnet is going to
41:02come back and the window for a ceiling outcome for Zach Charbonnet Price is limited if there is one at all.
41:09>> I actually I think in best in in best ball, it's interesting to kind of double tap Price with Holani in like the
41:15seventh round and the 19th round. And it's just a bet against Zach Charbonnet making an earlier than anticipated return.
41:23Uh I think it's a fun way to play it. In redraft, Price is interesting in round seven because, like you said, it you could end
41:29up with a a period of time where he's like a no-brainer starter if there's a little bit of attrition with one of the
41:35other running backs.
41:37Um and he certainly has that potential to just score a bunch of touchdowns this year. But, Holani's the one that I think
41:42they trust as a pass blocker. They trust in the pass game. And he's going to have some usable weeks. It's much easier to
41:49use Holani in best ball, I would say, than than in redraft though. And I mean, unless that pass catching role is
41:54outsized or something that we were maybe not anticipating. But, I think that's an interesting way of playing it.
42:00TreVeyon Henderson or Rhamondre Stevenson at cost, Sig?
42:05>> Just that you have to ask that question, Theo. I love you. And this isn't about you. This is about the Fantasy Football
42:10community.
42:12Uh is another sign of I mean, they call them blind spots for a reason.
42:16But, we already know what this backfield split's going to look like. It's what it was in the playoffs. 60-40, 65-35.
42:27Um, Rhamondre Stevenson, even if you needed confirmation, is being treated like a starter. He and Christian Gonzalez and one other player, I think
42:35it you know, they're getting load management basically, like days off just to ensure they go into the season healthy. Uh, Rhamondre Stevenson had five touchdowns
42:44in week 17 and 18. Five, 1 2 3 4 5. I know that Trey Trey Sermon Henderson had those long runs. Other than those long
42:51runs, what do we have to hang our hat on? He's still working on his pass blocking. He's still working on his route running.
42:57He cannot possibly I mean, Stevenson could get hurt, but again, we could say that about any backfield.
43:03He cannot pass Stevenson, um, unless he gets bitten by a radioactive spider or something. It's just not going to happen. So, why are we drafting? I So,
43:11I'm going to touch on two things cuz Dan Fornek, who does great stuff on I interact with him on Twitter a lot.
43:16>> Dan Fornek is going to be writing offensive line, uh, content for us right here at RotoWire this year.
43:22>> There you go.
43:22>> to be an announcement, but anybody watching this podcast will know. So, he gets the Sigmund Bloom stamp of approval here.
43:28>> Oh.
43:28>> But, Dan is one of the best offensive line evaluators on the planet. I had a chance to work with him many years ago
43:35at Player Profiler, and we continue to sort of stay in touch because I don't miss any of his offensive line articles.
43:41I think he's awesome. So, really excited for that. Look for that at rotowire.com.
43:45And again, use code Theo20 get 20% off.
43:49>> Yeah, you guys got to get Dan a code, too.
43:51>> We will. I'm sure we will. I'm sure we will.
43:54>> And so, uh, there you go, breaking news, uh, here right on the show. Um, the explosive runs are not as important to
44:02offensive coordinators, head coaches, as they are to us fantasy people.
44:06Because mistakes can cancel out the value of an explosive run. Like one mistake, one missed blitz pick up, one fumble can cancel out a 60-yard
44:16touchdown run.
44:17And this goes with Treyveon Prince also.
44:20You know, we want as fantasy, we want the flashy guy with the turbo jets. But offensive coordinators want trust, they want assignment sound football. That's
44:29Ramondre Stevenson, not Treyveon Henderson. The ADP should be flipped. If anything, I wouldn't take Henderson before Blake Corum we were just talking
44:37about. Cuz both guys you're saying like, well, you're playing him in good matchups, you're hoping for big games.
44:43Look, Blake Corum is just as likely to have a big game because the Rams win 42-21, he has two touchdowns and he gets
44:49like 17 carries. That as Treyveon Henderson breaking two long runs again in a game where Stevenson is on the field. I just think that this is one
44:57where we're holding on to some hopes we have for Treyveon Henderson that have already been shown they're not going to happen.
45:02>> I will continue holding on hopes and arguing with Sig with smart guys like Sigmund Bloom and my buddy Scott Barrett. Um there you know, people
45:11trying to talk me off of the Treyveon Henderson enthusiasm. I have him in in a range of drafts where it's not I'm not
45:17like reaching for him. And I've I've also mixed in some Ramondre Stevenson. I took Ramondre Stevenson in an NFFC draft the other day cuz I think he's priced
45:26pretty well. I think there's a scenario where they're both priced pretty well.
45:30This Patriots offense could be awesome.
45:32You talk about offensive ecosystems that we can believe in. I think adding AJ Brown, adding Romeo Doubs, adding in Eli Rareden at tight end. The offensive
45:41line's a year older. It's year two for Josh McDaniels. It's year three for Drake May. I think Treyveon Henderson is going to have some fantasy viability
45:50this year. But I will continue to argue with Sig and then Scott Barrett's going to be on the show really soon to try to
45:56talk me off of Treyveon as well. But I'm going to hold tight. Let us know in the comments where you're at on Treyveon,
46:00Ramondre. But uh it's going to continue being a a conversation all throughout August. Sig, it's a really, really fun one. Let's go lightning round on this
46:08one. Favorite Denver running back or pass altogether?
46:14>> Jordan Coleman, if you're going to take one, but I'm okay with passing altogether. Jordan Coleman's the only one that actually has a chance to return
46:19great value on his ADP because it's a three-headed backfield. Oh, Taysom Hill might sign there, too. A four You ready for a four-headed backfield? Uh so, I I
46:27just think that And when Sean Payton just shows us year after year after year that he's not going to use his running
46:31backs in a way that makes us like The only way you're going to like a Sean Payton backfield is if it's so good that
46:36you get to like an Ingram-Kamara kind of situation and the talents and the quality of offense just aren't there yet.
46:42>> Comfort level in drafting Josh Jacobs right now at cost. Is he going to come out of this unscathed for the 2026
46:50season? You do You are a lawyer, Sig.
46:54>> Yeah, I'm Well, I always refer to Drew Davenport, who is a a wonderful public defender uh in um Ohio or a defense attorney, at least, uh
47:03fighting for the underdog. Uh and he does a lot of fantasy legal analysis. I mean, the Jacob situation, what we know is the investigation is
47:11still open.
47:12Uh and I suppose that the scary situation for fantasy football, which is seems kind of trite for me to say that, but is that um
47:23something comes out, like some sort of video. Remember the Ray Rice situation?
47:26Like some some sort of video or something. Uh and that he put he he gets put on the commissioner's exempt list.
47:33Um the other things that give me pause with Jacobs are, you know, he he wore down last year.
47:40Uh MarShawn Lloyd, it appears, ala Christian Watson, has got his nagging injury issues taken care of with a visit to Madison's University of Wisconsin.
47:48And he's explosive in a way that Josh Jacobs isn't and never really has been.
47:53That's not to as a slight for Jacobs, it's to say that they drafted Lloyd in the third round cuz they he added an
47:58element to their backfield they didn't have. If he stays healthy knock on wood, um I think you're going to see him mixed
48:04in more, Theo. Uh and then there's the the Packers offensive line. Oh boy.
48:11You know, this is an offensive line that is got a lot of guys at new positions. It's got a lot of guys that
48:17you're saying, well, we were handing him this spot and we hope that he's up to it cuz the backups ain't good. They don't
48:24have depth.
48:26If they have an injury situation like they did on the offensive line last year, it's going to be a disaster for
48:32this offense. So, all those things just tell me that I'll let someone else take Josh Jacobs knowing that if he plays the
48:37way he did last year, at least first half of the season last year, he's going to be a hit for fantasy.
48:44>> Let's uh go rapid-fire on this one at cost, Bucky Irving, who's fallen, or Kenneth Gainwell?
48:52>> Gainwell, although if you're on the Irving train, there has been some more stuff coming out of Bucks camp early on
48:58that hey, Irving is getting more early down work. And like we talked about the top of the show, we may look at Tampa
49:03and just say you wanted Tampa Bay Bucks.
49:04It really didn't matter who you got, most of them were hits.
49:07>> Yeah, I love I love that takeaway.
49:09Jonathan Brooks or Chuba Hubbard? We've talked about this on multiple pods, but first time on on the Rotowire streets.
49:15Brooks has moved up and up and up and up and up and ADP. He's now going ahead of Chuba in FFPC, ahead of him in NFFC.
49:24Still a little bit of a of a delta between the two with Chuba Hubbard ahead on Underdog DraftKings, but the the
49:31redraft community looks like it's headed towards Brooks. Is Sigmund Bloom there?
49:36>> Yeah, this is one where again, I think if you are rationally grasping the considerations here, there are scenarios where Jonathan Brooks really changes the
49:45destiny of your fantasy team. There aren't for Chuba Hubbard. I mean, Chuba Hubbard can be a nice running back to flex if the Carolina offensive line is
49:53okay uh and he stays healthy.
49:57But Jonathan Brooks, if he's the player we saw at Texas pre-injury, um he take we already saw the day of Canales will
50:02let the superior back take over early down work like he did with Rico Dowdle.
50:06So, I think that that makes sense. And I think especially in these large field contests where you're trying to be the
50:10best out of thousands of teams like you mentioned NFFC FFPC, makes even more sense.
50:17>> Final running Actually, you know what? I think we're good on on running backs here. I would love to for you to drop a
50:22few of your guys that are we're not really the early round guys. You mentioned earlier Michael Wilson, but you've got four guys that you gave me
50:31before the show. Why don't you break those guys out? These are sort of Sig Sig's uh late round uh targets. I'll
50:37call mid to late round targets.
50:39>> Well, I think that these four guys can be grouped cuz uh one of them is like the first five rounds, but I want to
50:45introduce this concept and we can have these four test cases and they're not all exactly the same. But you have these
50:50late season breakouts. Kolston Loveland, Jalin Coker, Michael Wilson, Parker Washington, okay? And the idea here is and they're not identical, okay? But you
51:02have all these players being drafted below where they would go if we thought the way they finished the season is how
51:09they are going to persist, okay? So, you know, Parker Washington's a second round pick. Kolston Loveland's a second round pick. Jalin Coker's a third or fourth
51:16round pick. Michael Wilson, now granted Marvin Harrison was out.
51:19Michael Wilson was like a first round pick, right? These guys are being drafted anywhere from like the fourth round with Coker I'll have gone him as
51:26far as the 12th or 13th round. And I think what people are going to find is we overthink this stuff.
51:33When teams find something that works, they stick with it.
51:39I mean, it's not it's it it it's like a law of thermodynamics of fantasy football or something. Um we've mentioned already with Wilson and Jacoby
51:45Brissett. We saw the chemistry while Coker was producing at the same levels as Terron McMillan once he was the number two receiver, which he will be
51:53this year. He was anointed the number two receiver in the off season.
51:56Colston Loveland and Caleb Williams, I know Luther Burden I get it. I mean, we might say the right answer was Luther Burden and Colston
52:03Loveland, but I don't think that chemistry is going to go away.
52:07I just think that and then the Parker Washington one everybody's looking for the next JSN and the Jags are practically broadcasting to
52:16us that that's what Parker Washington's going to be and yet he's still available in the fifth or sixth round.
52:22>> The the Jags social media team is like committed towards hyping Parker Washington every day. There's something dropping there where it's Parker
52:30Washington making a play or them saying something. It's like full-on hype hype machine there for Parker Washington for sure. Uh one one other player pick your
52:39brain on real quick was Brenton Strange who I know you've always sort of gravitated towards Jacksonville's number one of these teams where it's an offense
52:47that we're betting on and there's sort of a lot of us and I know me in particular talking to a million
52:52different guests on Parker Washington, BTJ, talked about Ventrell Boutte, obviously Trevor Lawrence, but Brenton Strange, is he a player that could just really
53:02benefit from this environment and and beat expectations here and sort of in that tight end two range?
53:09>> Again, the team is telling us he's going to. They are saying he's going to be a big part of the offense. And they got
53:16Parker the second round pick, but that you know, it's a guy they're seasoning for two tight end sets down the line.
53:23Strange, before the offense clicked, Theo, before the offense clicked in the first half of the year, Trevor Lawrence had incredibly high efficiency throwing
53:31to Brenton Strange. This is like a Tucker Kraft. He's Tucker Kraft South, okay? Where the defense is you know, they got to defend Brian
53:39Thomas Jr. They got to defend Jakobi Myers. They got to defend uh of course Parker Washington. They've got to shut down the running game, the Liam Coen
53:47running game. And Brent Strange just needs to leak out into space, and he's a credible blocker in the running game. So, he's a very
53:55tough match-up. He can end up with guys matched up on him that shouldn't be matched up on him ala Tucker Kraft. So,
54:01I think that outside of that top 15 tight ends or so, you find yourself well, I accidentally didn't take a tight
54:08end. It's okay. Brent Strange is there to save you because he's highly efficient. He's getting into the peak of his career. He has great chemistry with
54:15his quarterback. His team loves him. And I think that the Jags in general we're looking across this offense, Theo. Is anybody in this offense going in the
54:24first 50 picks?
54:25>> No, we I've talked about this on a number of shows. It's like you don't necessarily there's going to be a ton of people talking up Parker
54:33Washington right now and for good reason. But, if you were on the they're wrong, I'm going to go with BTJ, you can
54:39draft both of these players. You can also draft Brevyn Spann-Ford um and there's Trevor Lawrence for that matter.
54:45Look like he turned a serious corner last year. Building out Jacksonville Jaguars like correlation, I think in all formats, is going to is going to pay off
54:53this year because I think we really believe in Liam Coen the play caller, and the vibes are great down there. But,
54:58there's not like that one player that we have to pay like a third round pick for, Sig. Um so, they're a really fun one.
55:05Brent Strange is a really fun way to access it. You mentioned Baker Mayfield earlier. Jalen McMillan as a wide receiver target. Uh he's I I can't stop
55:14clicking the button. I took him in the Pros vs. Joes FFPC this this week. I took him in an NFBC draft recently. Wide
55:22receiver 60, Sig, for Jalen McMillan. If you're right about Baker Mayfield, could he be one of these players that drafted down in this range could end up being a
55:31let's call him a wide receiver three.
55:34>> Yeah, well, somebody that you're looking at as a wide receiver three flex in PPR leagues every week and thinking, I don't
55:39want to miss out on what's possible because really quick, the picture here is really exciting even with Mike Evans gone because you have in Ted Hearst a a
55:50player with the speed and the game in the air to at least force defenses to honor him and you tie up your opposing
55:57length, speed, physicality boundary cornerback with him and then you let Chris Godwin out of the slot and Jaxon Egbuka who's running moving around the
56:07formation as an X and we saw how lethal he could be early on when Mike Evans was still healthy doing that and then Jalen
56:13McMillan can play all three spots.
56:16And Tez Johnson by the way can mix in.
56:18These are teams this is a team with a four wide receiver set or even five wide receiver set that is very difficult to
56:23match up with and people need to understand this about Jalen McMillan as we just saw that Jaylen Polk is retiring, you know, happy trails to him.
56:30I hope life after football is good to him. It sounded like the Saints actually he had a chance to make the team down
56:35here.
56:36Um we saw you know, we already you know, Rome Odunze and Jalen McMillan and Jalen Polk, Michael Penix these four road to a great prominence
56:46together at University of Washington and Jalen McMillan is the guy who was able to have the inside outside versatility and right away he was able
56:56with Tampa and then last year in training camp he had a scary neck injury. Theo, I don't think this has been reported to the level of the
57:04severity of the injury where it was not just about football and his football career.
57:09Um it was something that really stunned him and he got back on the field in the second half of the year and it really
57:15took I think it was a game against Miami late There was a game late in the season we had a 100-yard game and it showed
57:19that he's back. He's himself again. He's like this potential life-altering moment has been he's put it behind him and then you hear
57:29in training camp hey Egbuka this is I mean sorry in OTAs. Ebukam looks good, but so does Mcmillan.
57:35And I think you may have a situation here and there the Chargers could be like this too, Theo, where no wide
57:39receiver has say more than 75 or 80% of the snaps.
57:43But when guys are on the field, they're on the field doing things they're good at and they're optimized for targets and
57:49for productivity on those targets. So you may have five wide receivers all play between like 50 and 80% of the snaps, which might say that's bad. But
57:58it with offensive coordinators and quarterbacks that can execute so that when they're on the field, they're going to make things happen. So don't let that
58:06scare you away from a Jaylen Mcmillan or even, you know, someone like a Trey Harris.
58:11Um because I do think that we're going to start to redefine how many snaps a player needs, Parker Washington, uh to
58:18be fantasy relevant if he's being used in a highly efficient way.
58:22>> Love it. This was absolutely awesome today, Sig. Let everybody know once again where they can find your work and what you have coming out.
58:30>> Yeah, you know, football guys and the Audible, I mean, you know, we just love it. Just like Theo, you know, we're in
58:35it for the love of the game. I got to show everybody our draft guide. I think we're down under a thousand of these
58:39left. Who can you trust? Um and this is just we love physical media. Um we love having a chance to provide this,
58:45something that gave us so many great memories. You can take it to the toilet, take it to the beach, mark it up. Um and
58:50we look forward to this eventually becoming something really fun that, you know, uh people I I don't want to say they're become a collector's item, but I
58:57think they're going to really embody like the connection we all have through fantasy football, which you do so well, Theo. I understand why Rotowire would uh
59:05want to go get you and get Ian as uh statement to the world about the kind of fantasy football coverage you're going
59:13to get at Rotowire. And I know before you went on, you talked about our dear friend Allen, um who is a wonderful
59:18standard bearer. So this is just an exciting time. The whole season lies ahead of us. Most of our drafts lie ahead of us. And getting to hang out
59:26with you, Theo, makes me get even more excited.
59:28>> Yeah, and make sure you go check out uh I really appreciate those kind words and yeah, Ian's crushing it as well. Allen,
59:34we had a chance to draft and we're going to draft again next week. Um but I said, you know, I get to talk to Allen several
59:39times a day, which is really one of the great benefits of working here. But yeah, we're putting a a ton of work into
59:45the site. Go check it out. Make sure you're also checking out Sig's work. I I listen to like I try not to listen to
59:51too many sort of how the sausage is made here, Sig. I try not to listen to too many fantasy football podcasts out there
59:57even with like friends of mine because I want to have my my own takes, but I make sure and I check out what Sig's doing. I
60:04love love on the couch, the audible, all the stuff you've done for years. I can remember draft prep like years and years
60:10ago before I was even producing content, but listening to you. So, you've definitely been a big influence on on me. Really appreciate our friendship and
60:20yeah, stick with us here right here on the pod. Dropping shows like this one every single day in July we dropped a
60:26show and we're going to planning on doing the same thing in August. We're going to help you crush your leagues this season.
