Ashton Jeanty

NegativeInjury0:00

Low ankle sprain with aggravated plantar fasciitis; volume expected to decrease significantly in Week 6 and beyond. Plantar fasciitis causes inflammation on the bottom of the foot that worsens with use, likely requiring limited practice sessions and possible DNPs. Despite fewest rush attempts of season in Week 5 (game flow factor), the source expects continued volume management and pain management via injections; unlikely to receive full usage in foreseeable future. Las Vegas bye not until Week 13, so no rest opportunity coming.

Insight page

Caleb Williams

NegativeInjury13:33

Suffered a moderate-grade hamstring injury and logged limited practice on Friday. Typically when players do that, about 70% of them end up playing the following week, so the source has moderate confidence he plays week 6. Passing production is not expected to dip. Rushing production may see a decrease for about 2 weeks on return as most quarterbacks do after lower extremity injury. The real concern is hamstring re-injury risk around 15%, but there is no sign of high re-injury risk and no concerning hamstring history. The source anticipates minimal limitations to mobility and scrambling ability upon return.

Insight page

CeeDee Lamb

PositiveInjury25:45

Reported quad bruise/contusion, which is a best-case-scenario injury. Quad bruises typically hurt initially but resolve quickly without lingering impact into subsequent weeks. Dallas had an early Thursday game, giving Lamb extra recovery time. However, the source notes the Cowboys' tendency toward optimistic injury reporting (particularly under Jerry Jones) warrants some caution; if the team is being honest, the injury outlook is reassuring.

Insight page

Corey Kiner

NegativeRole6:30

Backup running back in Patriots backfield; becomes a player to add if Henderson deals with season-long injury issues, as he would be Stevenson's only remaining competition.

Insight page

Dameon Pierce

NegativeMatchup19:03

Volume was strong when Will Shipley was out, but Jacksonville presents an impossible matchup for running backs; leaning on Pierce as a starting RB is a downside scenario despite the team's optimistic overall schedule.

Insight page

David Montgomery

NegativeInjury10:44

Dealing with a groin injury and is already being called week-to-week, meaning he will almost certainly miss the coming week. The source projects a 2–3 week absence timeline. Average groin strain recovery is 1–2 weeks, but the vast majority of players miss at least the first week. Upon return, groin strains are somewhat prone to re-strain (though less severe than hamstring injuries), and running backs often see a dip in touches when they come back, suggesting potential workload reduction. The source notes Montgomery has been disappointing in production this season.

Insight page

Deebo Samuel

NegativeInjury7:05

Suffered a hamstring injury with MRI pending. Video evidence suggests at least moderate-grade severity. The source notes the average recovery timeline for moderate hamstring strains is about 3 weeks, with the vast majority of players missing at least 1 week; multi-week absence is likely. Re-injury rate for moderate hamstring strains is approximately 20%, which is very high, and re-injury typically escalates severity one level, creating potential for prolonged issues.

Insight page

Denzel Boston

NegativeUsage1:43

Tied Isaiah Bond with seven targets in Week 5. Potential secondary beneficiary if Concepcion misses Week 6, though Isaiah Bond expected to see larger workload increase.

Insight page

DeVonta Smith

NegativeInjury20:16

Solid chance of playing week 6 after running on the side of practice; trend favors week 6 or week 7 return with data slightly favoring week 6. Re-aggravation risk is high at approximately 20% since this is a re-aggravated hamstring (initially missed preseason time). Expected to see about 80% of normal usage initially due to snap count dip typical for WRs returning from re-aggravated hamstring; unlikely to see huge ramp-up given team's need to target him given other options.

Insight page

Dylan Laube

PositiveUsage0:48

Beneficiary of Jeanty's limited workload; received three targets in Week 5 after Jeanty conceded three of his six targets to Laube. With Jeanty expected to see volume decrease due to ankle sprain and plantar fasciitis, Laube positioned for increased opportunity in Week 6 against Buffalo.

Insight page

Harold Fannin

NegativeUsage1:43

Potential secondary beneficiary of Concepcion's concussion absence in Week 6. Source suggests rational coaching would dictate increased opportunity for Fannin Jr. alongside Denzel Boston if Concepcion misses.

Insight page

Isaiah Bond

PositiveUsage1:37

Primary beneficiary of Concepcion's concussion; tied Denzel Boston with seven targets in Week 5. If Concepcion misses Week 6, Bond expected to see much larger workload. Particularly interesting in deep formats (NFFC, FFWC) where he becomes a viable play due to increased target volume.

Insight page

Jayden Daniels

NegativeProjection21:25

Delivered QB2 scoring in week 5 return with 103 rushing yards, 2 rushing TDs, and 199 passing yards, ranking second only to Drake May heading into Monday Night Football. Re-aggravation risk on elbow is high probability, with another dislocation likely triggering season-ending surgery; however, not a definite lock. Concern elevated by Daniels' aggressive play style (diving for first downs, scrambling up middle) that may have contributed to severe injury history; elbow instability requires brace but could potentially last the full season.

Insight page

Jeremiyah Love

NegativeInjury23:20

Dealing with a real high ankle aggravation despite not missing time; had a high ankle sprain in preseason and muscled through. Week 3 showed promise (26 touches, 22 PPR points) but weeks 4-5 have been disappointing (6.5 and 2.2 PPR points respectively). High ankle aggravations typically linger 4-6 weeks; expected to improve by season's end but near-term outlook is concerning given the Cardinals' offensive struggles and Jacoby Brissett's job security.

Insight page

Lamar Jackson

NegativeInjury15:15

Suffered a mild high ankle sprain (medial type) with a week 6 return timeline. The source notes Jackson had a very similar injury to what Justin Jefferson had 2 weeks ago, and Jefferson produced pretty well upon return. Mild high ankle sprains average 1–2 weeks recovery; Jackson is on the borderline for week 6 return with a solid chance to play if practice reports trend positively. If active, only a mild impact on rushing production is expected; re-injury risk is not super high given the initial injury was not severe. The source notes Jackson has logged at least 20 rushing yards in every game this year, including a 50-yard game and a 40-yard game, establishing a strong rushing baseline for fantasy consideration.

Insight page

Quinshon Judkins

NegativeInjury2:11

Ankle injury in walking boot on same side as previous ankle fracture and dislocation (less than one year removed). Walking boot without crutches suggests no refracture, but sprain likely. Even if plays through, expected volume decrease in touches. Player still ramping back to pre-injury explosiveness and efficiency; early-phase recovery makes ankle more prone to re-injury. Practice reports will clarify severity; if multiple limited practices logged, volume limitation expected in-game. Setback after strong Week 4 usage.

Insight page

Rhamondre Stevenson

PositiveRole6:15

Primary beneficiary of Trevion Henderson's ankle re-injury; scored 17.5 points in Sunday's game with an insulated workload. The source projects Stevenson will average 15+ points per game in games Henderson misses. The offense is trending up and Stevenson's only remaining backfield competition is Corey Kiner, positioning him as the clear lead back if Henderson's injury proves season-long.

Insight page

Saquon Barkley

NegativeInjury17:42

Moderate-severity hamstring injury expected to sideline him week 6 with solid chance of return week 7 (2-week absence). Re-injury risk approximately 10-15% if he misses only 2 weeks. With Will Shipley sidelined by torn plantar fascia (3-4 week recovery) and Tank Bigsby out several weeks, Barkley positioned as primary backfield option upon return. However, offensive line concerns and broader Eagles offensive questions create uncertainty around role strength despite touch availability.

Insight page

T.J. Hockenson

PositiveInjury12:45

Likely suffered a concussion, but Hockenson is fortunate on timing because week 6 is the bye week for his team. Most players with concussions miss one week, and the data here favors him playing week 7 with no expected dip in production. The source would feel relatively confident and would not make any moves on Hockenson based on current information.

Insight page

TreVeyon Henderson

NegativeInjury4:17

Re-injured the same ankle that kept him out of Week 1 in preseason; high risk for missing time with MRI pending. Re-injury on same ankle increases re-injury risk when returning, compounding concerns for a player just starting to ramp up volume. The source expects this one to be pretty high risk for missing some time.

Insight page

Tyler Allgeier

PositiveValue25:06

Buy-low opportunity after a disappointing week 5 performance. If Jeremiah Love misses time or aggravates his ankle injury further, Allgeier could operate as a 20-touch-per-game back with passing game usage, making him a worthwhile roster hold.

Insight page

Will Shipley

NegativeInjury18:00

Torn plantar fascia with average recovery timeline of 3-4 weeks; likely to miss multiple weeks with possibility of IR placement. Source does not expect immediate return and characterizes situation as part of broader Eagles backfield dysfunction.

Insight page

Woody Marks

PositiveRole10:51

Becomes a really interesting spot starter with Montgomery out; has two-way ability in Houston's pass-heavy offense. Multiple weeks this season Marks has already outproduced Montgomery. The source has been watching him since his first game and believes he looks like the more explosive back between the two and is better in the passing game, fitting Houston's offensive direction to air it out and get playmakers like Marvin Harrison, Nico, and Jalen Noel rolling.

0:00Breaking down all of the recent injuries that fantasy managers need to know. I'm Theo Gremminger, RotoWire's lead fantasy analyst, joined today by RotoWire's new
0:09injury expert, Dr. Deepak Chona. We're going to break down all of the players that you need to know for fantasy, especially the recent ones, and a couple
0:18of players that maybe we need to keep an eye on with concerning usage that might be injury related. And we'll start off
0:25right at the top. Ashton Jeanty had his fewest fewest rush attempts of the entire season. Now, certainly the the game flow sort of dictated that it would
0:35be a a lot of pass attempts when you lose 45 to 17, but Jeanty we heard might miss all week long.
0:44What are you seeing here from Jeanty?
0:46And how how much should we lower our expectations for him in terms of touch volume and production with him dealing with injuries?
0:54>> Yeah, great questions. I I think the volume is really the concern here because it came out yesterday that when he was recovering from that low ankle
1:02sprain that he also aggravated plantar fasciitis. That basically means like an inflammation or irritation in the bottom of the foot. The more you use it, the
1:11more you're kind of poking on that bruise, and the longer it lasts. So, volume-wise, you're probably going to see some limited practice sessions and
1:18maybe even some DNPs as he tries to keep playing through this, but it's not usually something that goes away without an extended period of rest. Now, there's
1:27theoretically a possibility they shut him down, but I I would say that seems unlikely given that he's been playing.
1:33Uh the question though is, as you said, is he going to get his full usage? My suspicion is probably not, at least for
1:38the foreseeable future. You can try to manage this with injections and push through, but uh again, it's it's going to be painful. It's going to only get
1:45worse as the more you use it.
1:48>> Yeah, and I think what's also concerning for us is Dylan Lobby had three catches.
1:52So, not only they they limit Jeanty's workload uh as a as a runner, but he still had six targets, but conceded three of them
2:00to Dylan Laube. Now, the game was out of hand, all that stuff, but we've got Buffalo in week six, and there's no
2:06chance for rest for Genty because Las Vegas's bye week is not till week 13.
2:12So, we're going to keep an eye on this one for sure. Let's talk about Kasey Concepcion. Uh Kasey Concepcion uh concussion uh looked like a nasty hit.
2:22What are we anticipating? Should fantasy managers uh be ready to pivot uh in week six?
2:29>> Yeah, I think it's a good idea to have a pivot basically locked and loaded. 2/3 of players would be missing this coming
2:35game. Average on the concussion protocol currently is somewhere around 8 days approximately. So, as a result of that, most players are missing 1 week, coming
2:43back the following. Not usually seeing any production dip when they come back.
2:48And about a third of players, and we saw Jamar Chase do it this past week, are able to make it back without missing any
2:53time. But again, the data would favor him sitting.
2:57>> Yeah, and and when we look at Cleveland, sort of the player that benefited the most uh was Isaiah Bond, who had seven targets.
3:04He tied Denzel Boston. Uh Browns, they're an interesting team. They they get shut out by New York 17 to 12. I
3:11think like rational coaching would dictate maybe we see a little more Denzel Boston, a little more uh Harold Fannin Jr. But Isaiah Bond, if you're in
3:21a deep format, an NFFC type format, FFWC, Bond's an interesting one cuz I think it's he's going to see a much
3:28larger workload if Kasey Concepcion misses.
3:31The player that's even more troubling, Quinshaun Judkins. What should fantasy managers make of this situation in a walking boot after yesterday's game?
3:41>> Yeah, he's in a walking boot. The concern here stems from the fact that it's on the same side that he had the
3:46previous ankle fracture and dislocation on, and he's not even a year removed from that injury. typically from that injury you're going to take about a year
3:55to see a player ramp all the way back up to their pre-injury explosiveness and efficiency. And with that in mind, that
4:03early phase they're a little bit more prone for spraining the ankle as well cuz it's just not as strong to protect
4:08it. So, that our suspicion here, he did not necessarily like have a play that was visible that this is where he got
4:15hurt. So, we're suspecting a sprain of some sort. The fact that he was walking on it meaning boot without crutches suggests that he didn't refracture
4:22anything. So, it's probably not catastrophic, but with that in mind, even if he plays through this, you're typically going to see a dip in his
4:29number of touches. So, something to watch out for here with Judkins.
4:34>> And your gut feel, does he miss time or does he sort of play through this or is this just something that we're not going
4:40to know until we get the practice information earlier in the week?
4:43>> Yeah, I think the if I had to guess, he probably plays with a decrease in his volume. But, with that being said, you
4:50know, really I would say big asterisk next to that that we have very limited info on on what the real diagnosis and issue here. The practice
4:59reports will tell us a lot. So, if he logs several limited practices, that tells you that they're probably going to limit him in game as well.
5:07>> What a mess. What a mess when it comes to Quinton Judkins. We we were so enthusiastic about his volume in week
5:14four and now this sort of a setback.
5:17Another player who suffered a setback was Trevion Henderson.
5:22You sent me an awesome report.
5:25We're going to be doing the show every week which I'm so excited about. But, you sent me a report on Sunday night
5:29with your injury notes and it was about Trevion Henderson. It's just a big downer here. Your thoughts on his availability in week six and the rest of
5:39season outlook after yesterday's injury news.
5:42>> Yeah, he's getting an MRI today and And reporting that that's going to decide whether he misses time or not. I would
5:48say this one's pretty high risk for missing some time and the reason is it's the same ankle that he injured in week
5:54one that or in the preseason that kept him out of week one. And with that in mind, most players on a re-injury would
6:01miss at least one game. The additional concern is that an ankle that's now re-injured is further prone to more re-injury when you come back. So, all of
6:10these are not ideal for Trayveon Henderson who was just starting to ramp up.
6:15>> Yeah, I think that obviously the biggest beneficiary would be Rhamondre Stevenson where, you know, you had when Trayveon had his first game back, we had so much
6:23enthusiasm. Trayveon looked so explosive, but this offense is trending up and Stevenson now his only competition in the backfield would be
6:33Corey Kiner. And Corey Kiner becomes a player to add if Henderson is going to be potentially dealing with something season-long.
6:42Stevenson obviously though 17 and 1/2 points in Sunday's game would see a a sort of a insulated workload and I think
6:50we can anticipate something 15 points or more per game in games Henderson missed.
6:55One to keep an eye on. Another sort of mess situation. San Francisco keeps losing player after player after player.
7:05Deebo Samuel, the latest victim, hamstring injury. Getting an MRI on Monday. We're also recording on Monday, so we don't have all of the information,
7:13but what would be your guess towards the severity of this and when should we anticipate Deebo is going to be back in
7:20the lineup?
7:22>> Yeah, he by video kind of stopped him in his tracks on that hamstring. So, it makes you think probably at least a
7:29moderate grade severity.
7:30With that in mind, the average is about 3 weeks. Most vast majority are going to be at least 1 week out. So, I would not
7:38plan on him being available this week.
7:39Again, I would likely plan on multi-week absence. The real concern is that even when players come back, if it is in fact
7:46in that moderate grade severity, then their re-injury rate is up to about 20%, which is very high. So, keeping in mind
7:54also that re-injury usually bumps it up one level in severity, this could be something that he deals with for for some time.
8:01>> We're really excited to have you join the team. Uh Dr. Deepak Chona is going to be RotoWire's medical expert. Um you're the
8:09the head injury analyst. You're our go-to source at RotoWire for all sports for any major injury. The the main The main sport, of course, is going to be
8:18football. Uh that's your background here. Why don't you let the the RotoWire audience know a little bit about yourself, doctor, and uh what what um
8:26should they anticipate moving forward for you right here at RotoWire?
8:30>> I appreciate that, Theo, and thank you for bringing me on. I have been pumped to join this team. I've followed this
8:36team for a long time. Uh with my background, I I'm an orthopedic sports surgeon. Uh I'm actively practicing in Houston, Texas, and uh I
8:46got interested in orthopedic sports medicine because of NFL and NBA injuries, kind of watching that evolve over time.
8:55Uh and over the past several years, I I was out in training at Stanford, California, and I was lucky to link up
9:03with several talented developers, and we kind of put together before the AI sort of boomed in the mainstream, we kind of
9:10put together databases of NFL injuries and how they impacted players when they came back, and we were able to kind of
9:16query those databases. And as a result of that, we've realized we can spot trends in the data in terms of how players are going to come back,
9:26their timelines. And all of these trends were helping us win our fantasy league.
9:29So, we said, "Let's Let's make it known.
9:31Let's share it, and let's get it out there." And And we've kind of just developed in the social media world as a
9:37result of that and now pumped to like I said be joining an all-star cast at Rotowire.
9:42>> Really excited because I you I've always really respected. We've worked together in the past and really excited because you give no-nonsense injury information
9:51that can really help fantasy managers.
9:53It might be a player to sort of buy low.
9:55It might be a player to potentially sell, but your track record for NFL injuries is second to none and really excited to get a chance to chop it up on
10:03a weekly basis. You can also look for for for your appearances on Sirius Satellite Radio and a bunch of other cool stuff. So look for this pretty much
10:12every single week. We're going to give you the best possible information.
10:17Catch every drive, every play, and every touchdown poolside. Stadium Swim at Circa Resort and Casino in Downtown Las Vegas. Take it all in from six
10:24temperature-controlled pools or claim your place in a lounge chair, daybed, or private cabana. With a massive 143-ft screen and immersive audio, you won't
10:34just watch the action, you'll feel it.
10:36Make Stadium Swim at Circa Resort and Casino your game day ritual. Reserve your spot in the sun today at circalasvegas.com.
10:44Let's continue talking about recent injuries and I think probably the most interesting injury because of the opportunity it presents is David
10:53Montgomery. Montgomery's been really disappointing in terms of his production. Now he's going to be dealing with a groin injury. This sort of opens
11:01up a window for Woody Marks with his two-way ability in Houston's offense that passes a lot. He becomes a really interesting spot starter.
11:10How long should we anticipate, if anything, David Montgomery will miss?
11:16>> Yeah, they're calling this week-to-week already. So it almost certainly means he's out this coming week. The average groin strain is going to be one to two
11:23weeks, but vast majority of those players would miss at least the the first week of that. Now, I would anticipate probably you're looking in
11:31the two to 3 week absence timeline. Uh with that being said, when players come back, if they rush it back, their groin
11:38is somewhat prone to restrain, not as bad as hamstring, but but still somewhat prone. And secondly, running backs often see a dip in their touches when they
11:45come back. So, we as you said, may see more of that workload passed off here.
11:51>> There's also already been multiple weeks where Woody Marks has outproduced David Montgomery. For me, I I think this is an
11:57opportunity for Marks to really grab a stranglehold on the backfield. You've also got the bye week in week eight. So, for me, if I'm just looking at this, I
12:06would say week nine would probably be when we see David Montgomery again. Um but I'm not the medical expert here.
12:13That's just sort of sort of my guess, but I do think Woody Marks becomes really interesting. You're Houston based, sort of your thoughts on Woody
12:18Marks.
12:20>> Yeah, I mean, I've been watching him since his first game and I been wondering why he's not getting more work
12:25this year cuz he looks like the more explosive back between the two. And in the passing game, I certainly think he's
12:30better. So, that's I looks to me like they're moving towards just just air it out in Houston, get Marvin Harrison, get
12:37Nico and Jalen Noel all all rolling. So, I think that's our only hope with our offensive line and I think Woody Marks
12:43fits that way better.
12:45>> How about T.J. Hockenson? Are we looking at a concussion here? Hockenson had the smash week 2 weeks ago. Exited yesterday's game. Uh your thoughts on
12:55when we would see Hockenson back again?
12:58>> Yeah, so probably is a concussion. Uh again, most players would miss a week, but he's a little bit fortunate on
13:03timing cuz week six they have the bye.
13:06So, the data here would favor him playing week seven, not having any real dip in his production. Now, it's not a
13:12guarantee that he comes back by week seven, but again, vast majority of players would. So, I I would feel relatively confident. I wouldn't really
13:18move make any moves on Hockenson just based on the current information.
13:23>> How about Caleb Williams? We've been waiting for this one. We thought we had um a chance for Tyson Bagent to really
13:30excel as a spot starter. He was really bad yesterday against Green Bay, got pulled out of the game for Case Keenum.
13:37Are Bears fans and fantasy managers going to get a Caleb Williams bailout upcoming in week six or should we sort of hold our breath all week long? What's
13:46your confidence level that Caleb plays this week?
13:49>> Yeah, I would call it moderate that he does play in in the sense that he logged a practice limited practice on Friday.
13:56Typically when players do that, the vast majority play. About 70% of them end up playing the following week. So, we're looking pretty promising from the
14:05standpoint of him his return. Passing production typically wouldn't be expected to dip really at all. The rushing production, you may see them try
14:14that a little bit less, meaning most quarterbacks when they come off a lower extremity injury would have a decrease in their rushing attempts for
14:21about 2 weeks when they return. The real concern is with hamstrings re-injury.
14:26That's around 15%. There's no real sign that he's at high risk for that. It It seemed to be a a kind of moderate grade
14:33injury and he doesn't have any concerning hamstring history that we're aware of. So, overall relatively reassured, but there's with these hamstrings you just hope that you don't
14:43get that second second snap or second pull.
14:46>> And just you know, kind of a gut feel, do you think we would look at the same level of mobility for Caleb Williams as
14:53pre-hamstring injury or will there be like a little bit of a ramp-up period for him when he when he comes back with
14:59maybe a little the lack of like potential opportunistic scrambling or the ability to extend a play call?
15:06>> I think he'll still have it in that you don't usually see much of a dip when players come back from these hamstrings.
15:12Wide receivers and running backs I think give us more telling data cuz all of their positional production is based on the that explosiveness and even they
15:20take less than two games to ramp up their production and usually see about a 15% hit. So, with a quarterback, you're
15:26kind of projecting based on that data, which is more robust, but I wouldn't anticipate huge limitations. I think he'd still be able to to pull it off
15:34when he needs to.
15:37>> Talking about a quarterback whose backup actually looked very good, Tyler Huntley was better than functional on Sunday night, had some really really strong
15:46moments.
15:48What are the chances that Huntley is back on the bench and Lamar Jackson is back in week six? We heard some reports
15:55last week that Jackson was pushing to play and it looks like week six for a return. Do you think that was a little
16:02too optimistic or is that reasonable?
16:06>> I think this coming week is pretty reasonable. He had a very similar injury to what we saw Justin Jefferson have 2
16:11weeks ago and you saw Jefferson produce pretty well yesterday. And these mild kind of medial or high ankle average about 1 to 2 weeks. So, with Lamar
16:21Jackson, he's right on that borderline if of kind of being able to play. We sort of look for practice reports to see
16:28if he's trending in that direction, but I would say solid chance that he plays this coming week. You do have to kind of
16:34have a bench quarterback ready to sub in in case, but if he is active, you would see only a mild impact on his rushing
16:42production here. The concern is to some degree re-injury, but the the initial injury did not look severe and and all reports are that it was on the milder
16:51side. So, as a result of that, you wouldn't expect that re-injury risk to be super high.
16:56>> Yeah, with with Lamar Jackson, we we've had every game for him this year, he's had at least 20 yards rushing, including
17:03a 50-yard game, a 40-yard game. So, way improved. I think that the fears fantasy managers might have is like last year,
17:12he comes back from injury and the rushing production uh a major decline. So, we'll keep an eye on this one. They're playing against
17:20the Cleveland Browns in week six. This is an AFC North game. I'm sure it means a lot. It's on the road in Cleveland.
17:26So, we'll keep an eye on that one. And then you have Cincinnati in week seven.
17:30So, back-to-back AFC North games for Baltimore. I'm sure Lamar Jackson wants to be back for those ones. And then you get the fun one in week eight against
17:38Josh Allen in Buffalo, which we love that one for fantasy football.
17:42Let's talk about the mess that is the Philadelphia Eagles backfield. So, I guess you can you can take it from here.
17:48Do you want to talk Saquon? Do you want to talk Will Shipley? A whole lot to talk about here in Philly.
17:53>> You're right. There's a lot there. So, uh we can start with Will Shipley. He's likely out a few weeks at least. He they
18:00said torn plantar fascia. The average on that is about 3 to 4 weeks. Wouldn't be totally surprising if he even hits the
18:05IR, but I certainly wouldn't expect to see him back immediately here.
18:09Now, with Saquon, he had that hamstring.
18:11You saw it happen. He grabbed it right away. Most of those, again, are in that like moderate severity range. So, mild
18:19hamstrings you can sometimes come back after 1 week out, but my suspicion is that he's going to miss this coming week. There's some optimism around the
18:26reporting on Saquon Barkley. So, if he is not back this week, I wouldn't be surprised if he is back the following.
18:33The question is really again of of re-injury with this. If he only misses 2 weeks, then that would average about 10
18:41to 15%. So, it's not super high, but it's definitely a concern or there.
18:46With the Will Shipley kind of vacating his touches and Tank Bigsby out for several weeks, uh you're right, it's a total mess, but
18:54Saquon would be the guy I'd be trying to lean on.
18:57>> Yeah, it's interesting cuz Saquon could return and have a really pretty strong role, but now we have all these questions with the offense, the
19:03offensive line. Um it's a mess in Philly. I I talked about Dameon Pierce on the waiver show. Uh his volume was
19:09pretty strong when Will Shipley was out.
19:11And Jacksonville's an impossible team to run on. You're down pretty bad if you're leaning on Damien Pierce as your starting running back, but the schedule
19:19is actually very optimistic for this team.
19:22Philly's got some really good matchups coming up. They've got Carolina, which could could trend into a potential shootout. And then just pulling up their
19:30schedule, you know, we're we're sort of doom and gloom with this entire offense, but Jalen Hurts and the running game potentially getting back DeVonta Smith.
19:39Carolina in week six, Dallas in week seven, the Washington Commanders in week eight, and then a home game against the New York Giants in week nine. Your
19:47thoughts on Smith here as well. So, Smith obviously had a an incredible target share, first read rate, air yard share, highly utilized wide receiver one
19:58before he went down with an injury. The offense definitely missing him. Darius Cooper three touchdown grabs the last two weeks. Every one of those hurts for
20:06DeVonta Smith managers. Your thoughts on when we should see him back and will there be any sort of a ramp up or is it
20:13just going to be a clean recovery?
20:16>> I think there's a pretty solid chance he plays this week. He was reportedly running on the on the side of practice,
20:22not necessarily logging a full session or limited practice even, but just running suggests he's on his on the mend here. And the trend overall would would
20:32suggest either a week six or week seven return. Data would slightly favor week six here. The real concern is that this
20:40was actually a re-aggravation already.
20:42So, it was initially in the preseason he missed a little bit of time. Now he re-aggravated this hamstring and the concern is that
20:49the re-injury risk on this injury, which has already been re-aggravated, is is pretty high. So, that I would expect to be around the 20% range at least. Now,
20:59he probably won't see a huge ramp up in terms of his usage. Part part of that might just be what they feel about their
21:07other relative options, meaning that they've got to kind of target him or at least use him as much as he can
21:12tolerate. But usually you do see a little bit of a snap count dip initially for for a wide receiver coming off a
21:18re-aggravated hamstring. I would expect him to be out there probably about 80% of his normal usage.
21:25>> We had a huge game from Jayden Daniels in his first week back. A frustrating game for Commanders fans. They they give
21:31up a 14-point lead. But for fantasy managers, Jayden Daniels gives you one of the best scoring numbers on the week.
21:37Uh QB2 heading into Monday Night Football, right behind Drake May. Gives 103 yards on the ground, two rushing scores, and 199 passing yards. So, we're
21:48feeling good if we have Jayden Daniels.
21:50But how worried should we be about re-aggravation? We saw the Adam Schefter report about this elbow. What what's your gut feeling here? Is this a like
21:59disaster could strike at any moment type uh re-aggravation? Uh or is this something that's maybe getting a little overblown?
22:07>> Uh I don't think it's fully overblown.
22:09Now, the language of the Adam Schefter update is I think a little bit ominous or maybe overstated even. He said if not
22:16when the elbow gets re-injured. I think it's of high probability that he re-injures the elbow and a another dislocation would likely lead him to
22:26basically accelerate the timeline for surgery, maybe shut down for the year.
22:30Uh he's probably planning on an off-season surgery otherwise and using the brace as needed until then.
22:37My concern here is just what a what a re-injury would mean, which again is shutting down for the season. The chances are high, but I wouldn't say
22:45it's a definite lock that he re-injures himself. Now, if you watch his game yesterday, he doesn't really look like he's trying to avoid hits. He's diving
22:54for first downs, scrambling up the middle. Uh these are things that may have led him to to this severe injury history so far already in his young
23:02career. So, I if he's not going to change that play style at all, I do worry a little bit more about him than
23:08another player, but the elbow itself is is unstable and that's why he's wearing that big brace. It's just a question of,
23:15you know, how how long can it last? And it is possible for it to last the whole season, but I wouldn't bank on it.
23:20>> Let's talk about Jeremiah Love, who's dealing with an ankle injury, played in week five against Detroit, but it was a
23:26disaster. 2.2 points. We had so much optimism about Love in week three when he had 26 touches, 22 PPR points. The
23:37last two weeks have been really disappointing. Six and a half points in week four, only 2.2 in week five. Can fantasy managers trust Jeremiah Love? Is
23:47this going to be like the new normal of him scoring in these sort of single digits or are things going to get
23:52better? How worried should fantasy managers be about this ankle? What's your gut saying when it comes to Jeremiah Love?
24:00>> Yeah, I I think this is a real aggravation, uh even though he didn't miss time and they're saying that he
24:06wasn't really injured. He had a pretty real-looking high ankle in the preseason as we know and he he was able to kind of
24:12muscle through and come back before the season started.
24:15Uh week three, he looked pretty good and then after that he had that sort of frustrating appear frustrated appearance to him in week four and I I do think it
24:25was a real aggravation. They also limited his practice sessions going into this past game.
24:30These aggravations, you would expect about four weeks, maybe six for most of the effect lingering effect of it to kind of
24:38wash out. Now, it might be a buy low opportunity, although there's obviously some risk with uh with that Cardinals offense in general. I don't think you're
24:46going to see this get super good super fast, but I do think by the end of the season he's looking a lot more like the
24:52player that we expected.
24:54>> Yeah, that's been sort of the the narrative for a while is that the ramp up at the end of the year is going to be
24:59good. I I worry about Jacoby Brissett holding on to the job as he continues to lose games. We want Brissett to hold on
25:06to it, but love it's it's incredibly frustrating. I think Tyler Allgeier, having him rostered is is a really good idea and I think there's a buy low
25:14opportunity for Allgeier after yesterday's dud. Um if Jeremiah Love were to end up missing some time and sort of aggravate this injury, Allgeier
25:23could be a 20 touch per game guy with some passing game usage. So, that's sort of our our our our way to play this
25:29thing.
25:30Let's talk Kony Ealy Soudiq. Uh is he going to be out this week?
25:34>> Yeah, 2/3 of players would miss this coming week with the concussion and uh there's a chance he plays about 1/3
25:41would. If he's active, you wouldn't expect any dip here.
25:45>> And then the final player I want to pick your brain on, everybody's saying there's nothing to see here. Uh we're
25:51hearing the word quad bruise. I've had a bruise in my quad before. It's not a you know, the whenever you hear these like
25:58this sort of a language, what's your initial thought? Is it something that that is being mislabeled by the team or do you think it really is just a quad
26:06bruise when it comes to CeeDee Lamb?
26:08Should we get ready to fire up our Ryan Flournoy shares or is there nothing to see here? CeeDee Lamb will be back.
26:15>> Yeah, if they're being honest about the reporting, then a quad bruise or a quad contusion is actually very reassuring cuz it hurts a lot initially and then it
26:25resolves pretty quickly and doesn't cause usually a lingering impact even into the next game, but especially 2 weeks later, you wouldn't expect it. And
26:34keep in mind also, they had the early game Thursday. So, as a result, he's got a couple extra days to recover from
26:41this. Now, the question with Dallas is always about the optimism around their injury reporting.
26:47If you look back, uh coach speak index probably has some data on this, but but they tend to especially Jerry Jones
26:54tends to kind of overstay how optimistic the team is on recovery. So that's where my hesitation comes in, but if they're
27:01being honest a quad bruise is is actually kind of best case scenario.
27:05>> We'll keep an eye on this one with CD Lamb. Awesome stuff from Dr. Deepak Chona. Let everybody know where they can
