Brock Bowers

NegativeRole0:36

Brock Bowers is highly regarded by the team, with the GM and coach Todd Monken explicitly comparing Harold Fannin Jr. to him as a benchmark for potential.

Insight page

Cam Skattebo

NegativeValue14:30

Cam Skattebo was under consideration as a potential draft pick in the FFPC format.

Insight page

Chris Godwin

NegativeValue45:24

The source views Chris Godwin as a structural round seven pick rather than an edge-gaining selection, noting that passing on him is not a team-breaking decision because similar player bets are available in rounds eight and nine.

Insight page

Chris Olave

PositiveProjection8:22

Chris Olave is a priority draft target who finished as the WR7 last year despite playing in a poor offense. The source highlights his incredible usage, including high target share and air yard share, and suggests he could return to WR1 status if the Saints' offense takes a significant step forward under Kellen Moore.

Insight page

Chris Rodriguez

PositiveValue47:12

The source expresses strong interest in Chris Rodriguez, noting they would have fought to draft him had he reached their pick.

Insight page

Christian McCaffrey

NegativeValue0:36

The source identifies Christian McCaffrey as a potential option being considered for their current draft pick.

Insight page

Chuba Hubbard

NegativeUsage40:20

The source characterizes Chuba Hubbard as a 'compiler' who lacks explosive runs and is not a great receiver, arguing that Jonathan Brooks is a more explosive player with more juice in the passing game and was expected to take over the backfield even before Hubbard's injury.

Insight page

Colston Loveland

NegativeProjection15:20

The source slightly increased the ranking gap between Colston Loveland and Luther Burden following Burden's injury, though this adjustment is minor and does not fundamentally change the source's overall draft strategy.

Insight page

Dallas Goedert

PositiveValue42:33

The source explicitly prefers Dallas Goedert over Mark Andrews for the current fantasy season, indicating he would have lobbied for Goedert as a superior edge at the tight end position.

Insight page

Dalton Kincaid

PositiveValue44:46

The source identifies Dalton Kincaid as a player he would have been excited to draft and would have lobbied for had he been available in the round prior to selecting Mark Andrews.

Insight page

De'Von Achane

NegativeUsage5:31

Devon Achane is viewed as a unique receiving benchmark for running backs. The source notes he has been drafted inside the first round recently, which they consider slightly early, and clarifies that while they expect Derrick Henry to be involved in the passing game, he is not expected to replicate Achane's specific high-volume receiving usage.

Insight page

Denzel Boston

NegativeUsage33:27

The source acknowledges the argument that Denzel Boston and Kacy Concepcion could compete for targets with Fanning, but argues that Fanning will still see an exceptional target share early in the season because the competitors are rookies.

Insight page

Derrick Henry

PositiveProjection5:26

Ryan Heath argues that Derrick Henry is undervalued at his current ADP, citing his efficiency as a receiver and massive touchdown equity in a high-powered Ravens offense. The source views him as an ideal 'Hero RB' anchor with 17-18 points per game potential and spike-week upside. Pairing Henry with Lamar Jackson is described as a 'broken' matchup cheat code for best ball tournaments, as the correlation between a quarterback and a non-pass-catching running back is often underrated for season-long upside.

Insight page

DeVonta Smith

PositiveRole8:52

Ryan Heath ranks DeVonta Smith as his highest available wide receiver, projecting him to fully take over the role vacated by A.J. Brown in the offense.

Insight page

Drake Maye

PositiveProjection48:21

The source ranks Drake Maye as their QB2, placing him ahead of Lamar Jackson in their updated rankings due to his high upside.

Insight page

Emeka Egbuka

NegativeValue8:22

The source expresses high interest in Emeka Egbuka, noting significant exposure in main event drafts, though they acknowledge concern regarding a toe injury.

Insight page

Garrett Wilson

PositiveUsage14:21

Garrett Wilson is a high-priority target and a high-usage player, currently ranked ahead of Luther Burden due to his health and positive team vibes. He is projected for a 30% target share, with a 140-target floor and 170-target ceiling if he stays healthy with Geno Smith at quarterback.

Insight page

Harold Fannin

NegativeBreakout18:34

Harold Fannin Jr. is a priority draft target and an underrated number one option poised for a breakout. The source prefers him over reaching for running backs to avoid a 'nightmare scenario' at tight end. He is compared to Brock Bowers by team staff and is expected to see an exceptional target share early in the season despite competition from rookies.

Insight page

Isaiah Likely

PositiveSleeper45:03

The source identifies Isaiah Likely as a high-value target in round seven, personally favoring him as a top position player pick despite disagreement from their co-host, Ryan.

Insight page

J.K. Dobbins

PositiveValue55:18

The source selects J.K. Dobbins in round eight as a stable early-season presence for roster builds that waited on their RB2 position, specifically to pair with Jonathan Brooks.

Insight page

Jameson Williams

NegativeUsage34:00

The source uses Jameson Williams as a benchmark for target share, noting that Sam LaPorta has consistently been ahead of him in the pecking order throughout their careers.

Insight page

Jaxon Smith-Njigba

PositiveProjection0:46

Jaxon Smith-Njigba is a priority target and foundational piece for the source, especially in FFPC formats due to his fit in the extra flex structure. The source has been ahead of the market on him since last year, citing his awesome usage and pure upside. A starting build of Trey McBride and Jaxon Smith-Njigba is considered a high-upside, albeit 'scary' strategy.

Insight page

Jayden Daniels

PositiveProjection48:22

The source ranks Jayden Daniels as their QB3, noting that he is very close to or ahead of Lamar Jackson in their updated rankings.

Insight page

Jayden Reed

PositiveBreakout60:56

The source highlights Jayden Reed as a strong flex option, noting that his fantasy upside has been historically suppressed by limited usage in two-receiver sets and a crowded Packers rotation. With potential for increased route participation and target concentration among star players, he is viewed as a high-upside pick.

Insight page

Jonathan Taylor

NegativeValue7:52

The source compares Derrick Henry to Jonathan Taylor, noting that Henry offers similar upside despite being drafted a full round later in ADP.

Insight page

Jonathon Brooks

PositiveProjection38:20

Jonathan Brooks is viewed as a reasonable RB2 pick for teams that already have a Derrick Henry, noting his explosive potential and superior receiving skills compared to Chuba Hubbard. While the source ranks him behind Rhamondre Stevenson due to team offense quality, Brooks is considered to have high theoretical upside and a more projectable Week 1 role following the Hubbard injury. Despite some concerns about his round five ADP, he is a priority target whose ADP is expected to rise.

Insight page

Jordan Addison

NegativeInjury9:19

Jordan Addison is currently flagged for injury concerns, with the source noting that his situation has opened up the 'injury box' for consideration.

Insight page

Josh Downs

PositiveValue45:56

The source expresses a preference for Josh Downs as a draft target, noting they would have preferred him over other available options during their roster construction.

Insight page

Josh Jacobs

NegativeValue14:36

Josh Jacobs was under consideration as a potential draft pick in the FFPC format.

Insight page

Justin Jefferson

NegativeBust6:54

Justin Jefferson is classified as a fade for the source in this year's drafts, with specific reasoning provided in their draft guide.

Insight page

Lamar Jackson

PositiveProjection7:38

Lamar Jackson is a top-tier quarterback and a viable threat to Josh Allen, with elite fantasy points per game potential when healthy. The source notes that his rushing threat fundamentally changes how defenses play the Baltimore Ravens, which is why they drafted him in round seven as a 'double bet' on the team alongside Derrick Henry. While the source personally ranks Drake Maye and Jayden Daniels ahead of him, they emphasize that rushing-upside quarterbacks make correlation strategies easier to execute for tournament upside. Additionally, Jackson has been running less at the goal line with each passing season, which increases the touchdown equity for Derrick Henry.

Insight page

Luther Burden

NegativeProjection14:13

Luther Burden is an interesting target, but his draft stock has dipped behind Garrett Wilson due to a current injury. While the source believes he can 'smash' and secure a significant role, the lack of preseason field time to install new offensive concepts creates minor concern regarding his week one availability.

Insight page

Malik Nabers

PositiveValue3:44

The source is extremely high on Malik Nabers, ranking him significantly above aggregated ADP and expert consensus. While he is a strong consideration at the 2.03 turn, the source advises caution with roster construction, specifically avoiding pairing him with slow-starting rookies or players with suspension risks like Josh Jacobs.

Insight page

Mark Andrews

NegativeValue42:25

The source views Mark Andrews as a structural pick for Baltimore-heavy rosters, acknowledging his high touchdown equity as a primary red-zone target, but expresses concerns regarding his declining role and part-time status, ultimately preferring other options like Dallas Goedert.

Insight page

MarShawn Lloyd

PositiveValue45:03

The source intended to draft MarShawn Lloyd in the 10th round as a priority pick, noting he would have been their selection had they not already secured Lamar Jackson.

Insight page

Matthew Golden

PositiveValue47:08

The source is comfortable drafting Matthew Golden in the 11th round as a strategic edge pick, despite skepticism regarding his ability to command targets compared to teammates like Christian Watson or Jayden Reed due to his lack of demonstrated target share or YPRR efficiency.

Insight page

Mike Evans

NegativeInjury17:52

Mike Evans is currently 'a little banged up,' which is negatively impacting his draft consideration.

Insight page

Rachaad White

NegativeValue55:42

The source considers Rashaad White a viable target, noting that his ADP has been pushed down by Stefon Diggs, making him a potential value pick in round nine.

Insight page

Rhamondre Stevenson

PositiveValue41:53

The source ranks Rhamondre Stevenson ahead of Jonathan Brooks, citing his fit for 'catch-up' game scripts and the fact that he plays in a better overall offense, despite acknowledging that the two players have relatively similar overall upside.

Insight page

RJ Harvey

NegativeValue53:35

The source tracks R.J. Harvey as a potential draft target, describing his profile as a "poor man's Jonathan Brooks" outcome.

Insight page

Sam LaPorta

PositiveProjection18:16

Sam LaPorta is the source's favorite middle-round tight end. He has consistently been even with or ahead of Jameson Williams in the target pecking order throughout their careers, and the source expects him to benefit from the high-usage tight end coaching tree of Drew Petzing.

Insight page

Saquon Barkley

NegativeBust5:49

The source explicitly fades Saquon Barkley in round two of drafts this year, citing specific concerns detailed in their draft guide.

Insight page

Tee Higgins

NegativeUsage16:40

Tee Higgins is considered an interesting draft option, but the source notes he faces significant target competition from Ja'Marr Chase.

Insight page

Tony Pollard

NegativeUsage50:40

The source uses Tony Pollard as an example of a two-down back on a team with a questionable offense, advising that drafters should pair him with his quarterback (e.g., Cam Ward) to bet on the team's offense performing better than expected.

Insight page

Trey McBride

PositiveUsage5:10

Trey McBride is considered a 'too big to fail' asset in FFPC formats due to the 1.5 PPR tight end premium. He has maintained a route share above 70% for 27 consecutive games, and reports indicate the Arizona staff plans to hyper-utilize him in a Sean McVay-style offense. Drafting him early forces a specific team structure, as it precludes taking a running back in round three.

Insight page

Tyler Shough

NegativeRole9:58

Tyler Shough remains the clear starter in the offense entering his second year; while training camp has been a 'mixed bag' with both phenomenal and poor moments, he maintains his position over Spencer Rattler.

Insight page

Tyler Warren

NegativeValue8:22

Tyler Warren is identified as a potential draft target under consideration by the team.

Insight page

Zay Flowers

NegativeValue8:41

The source notes that selecting Zay Flowers would result in a 'double tap' of Baltimore Ravens players, which is a factor in their draft strategy.

0:05Live drafting in FFPC $350 entry Big Gorilla. Theo Gremminger, RotoWire lead fantasy analyst, joined today by Ryan Heath of Fantasy Points. Ryan, we're
0:15going to attempt to take down a million dollars. We're drafting out of the sixth spot. Your thoughts on this? How how
0:21dangerous are you feeling right now?
0:23>> Oh, I am feeling dangerous, Theo. I am so ready to get into this FFPC draft. So much fun. I I can't even like describe
0:33how pumped I've been for this all day.
0:36Uh Bowers goes here, so we're staring down a JSN or a Christian McCaffrey. We talked a little bit before the draft,
0:43but I'm kind of happy with whichever way you would like to push that.
0:46>> I want to push JSN here. I think JSN is a player that the two of us were ahead of market on last year.
0:52Um and we we were kind of unwavering with that one. I had more exposure to him than you did, but you were sort of
0:58talking about the upside case. Let's not make them the same mistake. Uh let's get you a JSN share. An awesome player,
1:04awesome usage, uh and I think it's a really foundational way to start our draft. I love him at the 106.
1:11>> Yeah, he's a very solid pick here for sure. I kind of like how from the middle of draft just structurally how starting
1:19out wide receiver goes, especially uh in this format where you have the extra flex. It just adds a little bit of value
1:26to wide receivers at the back end. So, I yeah, definitely not against going JSN here. Uh even if that's maybe not how I
1:34have it ranked exactly for people drafting in like shallower home leagues, but I do think yeah, he's definitely a format fit here and he's a a fit for
1:42kind of the plan that we have laid out.
1:44>> Yeah, I moved him up um in my overall PPR rankings. I I'm very bullish on JSN.
1:50I've taken Amon-Ra St. Brown ahead of him like once, but I don't know. I feel like with the pure upside case, they're
1:56both have strong upside cases at wide receiver. When you get into round two, we talked about structurally, especially in FFPC, you can catch up at running back at the
2:052.07 where we're going to be picking, maybe more so than in other years. It feels like there's going to be some
2:10really high upside bets. So, I think we're kind of rooting for probably after the JSN start, we want to see A.J. Brown go, we want to see Drake
2:18London go, and potentially push a a running back down to us. And also, the big wild card, how are you treating
2:24Malik Nabers? I had to move him way up in my rankings at RotoWire.
2:28>> [snorts] >> Yeah, I have him very high is is what I'll say. I have him much higher than any sort of aggregated ADP or expert
2:36consensus would show you. I'm considering him basically at the 2.3 turn is [laughter] where is where I've ended up.
2:45I do think he's one you have to be careful with in terms of the build you use and the players you pair him with. I
2:52think it's a little scary to pair a Nabers with like a Jeremiah Love, for example, who just as a rookie could kind of start
2:59slower, take a little bit of time to get a full workload. A Josh Jacobs who has like the suspension risk, right? Like I
3:06think there's some guys where you have to watch yourself for just early in the season.
3:10If Nabers is taking a few weeks to get up to full strength and full effectiveness. But, yeah, outside of that, I'm super super in on Nabers.
3:21>> So, we have three players in the queue.
3:25Uh actually, I just added a fourth for consideration.
3:28We are five picks away.
3:31Right now, we saw just for the the podcast listening audience, you saw Devon Achane go inside of round one.
3:38That's been a slightly early for him.
3:40We'll get Ryan's thoughts on Achane after we pick. Scott Barrett and I drafted Achane in an FFPC main event. We see Saquon Barkley go at the 2.03. So,
3:50Trey McBride, Colson Loveland very much in play in this range. And there goes Chase Brown. So, two picks three picks away here Ryan with a couple of really
3:59fun players on the board.
4:02>> Yeah, yeah, I have been pretty happy with how this has fallen so far.
4:07I guess I'll say that two of the guys I'm not really targeting in round two of drafts this year would be Saquon Barkley
4:14and Justin Jefferson. Those are kind of just fades for me for some reasons I lay out in my draft guide, but yeah, happy to see them go
4:23here at the 202, 203. It's going to push down some nice options here for us. I guess I didn't really consider the
4:32possibility of Trey McBride here pre-show, but yeah, that's also pretty interesting that he might end up falling. So, yeah, we have a couple of
4:42different directions we could go here.
4:44>> Yeah, I mean Trey McBride when you start getting past the one-two turn it's sort of like almost too big to fail
4:51in this and again, this is 1.5 points for tight end reception and recent reports are this Arizona staff wants to target the the hell out of Trey McBride.
5:01A lot of reports coming out of camp that this this staff has a plan. You start thinking about a Sean McVay type offense
5:07and how they could hyper-utilize a tight end.
5:10A Marion Hampton goes here. So, that we're we're sort of Okay, this is the unexpected Ryan. I will say if you draft Trey McBride here,
5:20it takes away your your round three running back target cuz that's a kind of a hard double tap.
5:25>> Yes.
5:26>> If you want to go tight end, I'm I'm totally open to it. I think for me it's between Derrick Henry and the two tight
5:34ends. I would lean towards tight end for like a overall winner type value and I think we could sort of piece meal
5:41together running back. I know we're both open to the dead zone this year. But a McBride JSN start is pretty scary, Um
5:48but I'll I'll defer to you on this one.
5:49Last one I I kind of got my way.
5:52>> I Yeah, I think I want to go with the running back here that we discussed, Derrick Henry. If you If you Yeah. If
5:59you want to make a crazy team, we can, but I'm I would prefer Henry.
6:03>> Okay, so we'll lean into the structure.
6:05Um I'm going to I'm not going to use the word begrudging, but I It's That's the great thing about splitting teams is,
6:11you know, you you you're open-minded to some other things. I know you've talked about the high-end outcomes with with Derrick Henry. Um you are are very into
6:20him. Talk about this one and the value he presents in round two. You are a noted ageist, Ryan, so it really It
6:27probably hurts you deeply to have to talk about Derrick Henry in a positive light, but but here we are.
6:33>> It is, and I I won't lie. There's a part of me that's terrified. Like, of course, finally the season that I'm in on
6:38Derrick Henry would would be the year that all the nerds have been predicting for the last three to five years, right?
6:44Uh but but no, I really like how this season sets up for him.
6:49Uh with the new offensive coordinator coming in, uh Declan Doyle, I He just sounds like he wants to kind of use
6:57Henry Not like to say, "Oh, Henry's going to suddenly turn into Devon Achane and be like highly involved in the passing
7:04game," but Henry has been one of the most efficient running backs in the league on like a yards per target or a
7:10yards per route run basis. He's awesome with the ball in his hands. I don't get why you wouldn't want to give him all of
7:16the kind of opportunities and space that you could. Uh Everything we've heard out of camp is that Declan Doyle's of a
7:22similar mindset there, and I think you're also just getting a discount on Henry that doesn't make that much sense given uh just kind of the Vegas win
7:32total and the projections of how good of a team the Ravens are going to be that even if he is still just in his two-down
7:39role, like the the touchdown equity that you're getting here is massive. Lamar has been running less and less at the goal line with each passing season. Like
7:48I just see a smash outcome here for Henry.
7:52And he's not like that different of a pick to me than a Jonathan Taylor is that goes a full round earlier on ADP in
8:00every site.
8:01>> Yeah, I think he's interesting. We're betting on him to just basically do the exact same thing as last year. I think
8:06like from an analytics and and looking at like historical comps, there's really none.
8:11There was like one season of a 32-year-old playing the entire season and and and producing in a major way.
8:18Okay, so we're OTC here. George Pickens goes. I had him in the queue.
8:22We're looking at Zay Flowers. We're looking at Tyler Warren. We're looking at Chris Olave. Uh my guy Emeka Egbuka.
8:34Uh I'm I'm into, but the toe scares me a little bit. I know Jacob um Jacob Gibbs is is not moving off him. What's your
8:41initial lean here? I will say if it's Flowers, you're double tapping Baltimore.
8:45Uh and I will throw Tyler Warren into the equation. Egbuka, Warren, and then I know you put Devonta Devontae Smith in
8:52there. So, talk about which way you want to go here.
8:55>> Yeah, Smith would be my lean. He's my highest ranked wide receiver uh here. To me, I just am very bought into Shawn
9:03McVay as a play-caller, and I think that Smith can kind of just fully take over the the role that A.J. Brown left in the
9:10offense. I think the Eagles will be a lot better this year, but I'm also cool with Chris Olave if you Yeah, if that's
9:15your preference.
9:15>> I think let's let's lean into Olave. I think Olave um I like Smith a lot, but I think Jordan Addison sort of the the
9:23injury box being opened up. I talked about this with with Jacob Gibbs today, where like I'm team Emeka Egbuka. I've taken him in a main event. I have a lot
9:32of exposure to him, but I think if if there was anything that sort of re-aggravates with Tyson or if Tyson missed some time, we look at like how
9:40incredible the usage was for Olave last year and with the first read rate, we looked at the air yard share, the target
9:47share, the overall counting stats where it's like 150 targets, 100 plus receptions, and there could be a little more room to run this year because the
9:56overall offense is going to be better.
9:58Tyler Shough is a year older.
10:01Apparently, the Tyler Shough's been sort of a mixed bag. Some really phenomenal moments in training camp, some poor moments. Rattler sort of also played
10:08pretty decently, but it's Tyler Shough's offense. And Ryan, you've also often talked about just how fantasy friendly the Kellen Moore offense is. Where with
10:18Sean Man Sean Mannion's is still like I'm into Sean Mannion and I know you are, I know a few smart people are, but
10:23Kellen Moore is more of a proven thing.
10:25Mannion's a little bit more of a theoretical offensive coordinator.
10:29>> Yeah. No, and that that is all entirely fair enough. I I have like the Olave versus Tyson thing I've been
10:38like wrestling with recently cuz my take coming in was I think Jordan Tyson is somehow like kind of being underrated as
10:46a prospect. I think he was an excellent prospect. I think there's like a real chance that he's even with Olave in
10:53terms of target share when both are healthy. But yeah, as you're pointing out, it's like what will both of them be
10:59healthy? Is that is that even like a relevant consideration at this point?
11:04I've been kind of waiting and dragging my feet on moving Tyson up my rankings just because it's generally a little scary to bet on rookies that have missed
11:14most of the summer of their rookie season, which was the case with Tyson at OTAs.
11:22And yeah, he made it through a couple weeks of training camp, but now he yeah, has pulled his hamstring again, it
11:28sounds like. We're still waiting for updates on that, but yeah, I don't know.
11:32On like Monday or Tuesday when the Saints next practice, if he's out there, I could be coming out with a much more
11:37bullish Jordan Tayson take. But But yeah, right now I think that as you point out, like being a little bit more
11:44aggressive on Olave makes some sense here and and just in this moment of time that we exist in.
11:49>> And I think the the fourth and fifth round, depending on how they go, Tayson is a player I think I'm still very wide
11:55open to taking if he's available at the 6-7, and it'll be hard to to not take him if he's there at the 7-6, which I
12:02don't anticipate. I think it's probably 6-7 or bust, but I think this could be a consolidated offense. I think Juwan Johnson is going
12:08to have a role, but Olave and Tayson can both produce. Olave was wide receiver seven last year on sort of a poor
12:15offense. I think there's a chance he returns to wide receiver one land, and Jordan Tayson's like the wide receiver 22, and this offense takes a huge step
12:23forward. I'd say if there was no like Mike McDaniel, then the Saints, there would be a lot more talk about this
12:28being like the breakout offense. There's certainly some really smart people on New Orleans right now.
12:33So, we've a very balanced start. If you're listening on the podcast, Jaxon Smith-Njigba at the 1.06, Derrick Henry in round two, Chris Olave in round
12:41three, two wide receivers and a running back. This is FFPC tight end premium, so it's it's a PPR format, 1.5 point for
12:50tight end reception. It's 20 rounds, and you start two flexes in this one, Ryan.
12:55So, gives us a lot of flexibility. If you want to play against Ryan Heath and I in FFPC, use the code Theo25,
13:03and if you're a new sign-up, you are going to get 25 free dollars, which is pretty cool because they have a $35 best
13:09ball contest that pays $100,000. So, you basically would be getting that for $10.
13:15Pretty pretty great place to play. I have a lot of dynasty teams over in FFPC as well. Ryan, how many FFPCs are you
13:22going to draft a couple? Are you doing a main event this year with Scott and Jacob again?
13:26>> Uh yeah, on I should I should I even announce when we're in it? I don't know.
13:30Yes, uh, me me, Jacob Sanderson, and Scott Barrett will be drafting a Main Event team together, uh, at some point in the next couple of weeks. Uh, I I
13:38don't know the etiquette on that if I'm supposed to tell people when it is, but >> No, go for it. No, go for it.
13:43>> Yeah, it's a it's on it's on August 20th is is when we'll be doing it. We'll be live streaming that, uh, from the
13:48Fantasy Points YouTube channel. Should be a lot of fun. Uh, we make we won our pod last year and ended up with the free
13:58roll entry, so we knew we had to run it back. Uh, hopefully we can keep rolling that forward.
14:03Um.
14:04>> Okay, so we're OTC here, Ryan, and I I think it's there's there's interesting running backs, but I think they'll probably be a running back at the 506.
14:13I think that for me it's Luther Burden's banged up, but I think he's really, uh, an interesting target.
14:21Garrett Wilson would be my personal favorite here. The vibes are really good. He's going to be a high usage player. He's perfectly healthy. I put
14:30Cam Skattebo into consideration. I put Josh Jacobs and then Tederall McMillan.
14:36Your thoughts on this pick here, which way you'd go? I think I'm on Wilson. 26 seconds.
14:41>> I'm on Wilson as well. Yeah, he's my highest ranked player here, too. Um, I just recently flipped him and Luther
14:48Burden in my rankings, uh, just off of the injury. That was like the only slight adjustment I made. Um, no, so any
14:55anyone listening that's a Fantasy Points subscriber asking if I'm like wavering on my targets or my thoughts on Burden or any of these guys, I'm not, but on a
15:05platform like this, FFPC, where the ADP is much more efficient, uh, than on a lot of the home league platforms that I
15:12might be making content for, uh, yeah, I do I do like, uh, Garrett Wilson just ahead of a Luther Burden right now. Uh,
15:20really my my only response to the Burden injury was that I just slightly increased like the gap between Loveland and Burden in my rankings by like a
15:29couple of spots like either like either way I just yeah moved him slightly apart. Uh not really changing overall draft strategy for people that aren't
15:40going to be in like these maximally efficient ADP markets, but that that was kind of what I thought was appropriate just
15:48based on it like as much as I think Luther Burden can absolutely smash and like is probably going to get the role
15:56that we want.
15:58It's hasn't like happened yet, right?
16:00Like I would like him to be on the field when the like during this preseason when the team is installing all of this
16:06stuff, right? If he's going to be taking on a new role in the offense, it's just like a slight concern. I there's no like
16:12reason to doubt his week one availability. So it's it's like very very minor, but it in this case that like small micro adjustment and ended up
16:21making me agree with you here.
16:23>> Yeah, it's it's a fun team. We're here RB build right now and I think that's the way you want to play Derrick Henry
16:30sort of draft like you're right, draft like you have 17-18 points per game with spike weeks at the RB1 position and we
16:37really leaned into wide receiver.
16:40T Higgins would have been an interesting player there, but T Higgins obviously the target competition with Jamar Chase.
16:45Garrett Wilson 30% target share probably a reasonable bet and if he stays healthy for the full year with Geno at quarterback 140 target floor, 170 target
16:57ceiling.
16:59>> Yeah, no I I have no I [laughter] I have no arguments against that. My My only argument against Garrett Wilson is is the offense going
17:07to be competent enough for any of it to matter, but yeah I I absolutely expect him to just completely dominate the
17:13targets there and be and be one of the yeah one one of the highest target share highest target rate receivers in the
17:20NFL. That's certainly what we saw from him last year in the games that he was healthy. So yeah, he he's a nice get
17:26here. I'm pretty happy with him. Would also have loved a T. Higgins fall but I think we're set up well here
17:33to there's a a couple ways we could go here. I want to hold my tongue a little. Okay, and Basile Tuten
17:41goes one spot up.
17:41>> Okay, so Basile Basile Basile Tuten goes. Okay, so you do have two interesting wide receiver one types in Christian Watson and Terry McLaurin
17:52still on the clock. Would really lean into wide receiver. Mike Evans little banged up here. I took him a little later than this yesterday.
17:59I am kind of of the opinion that we might get burned at tight end if we don't push one up tier
18:06and we can't really rely on the sixth round. My lean would be the tight end we have in the queue who I know we're both
18:12very into. Where is your lean right now?
18:16>> I I have Sam LaPorta ranked higher than the tight end you have in the queue, but I'm okay with taking this guy and I'm
18:23okay with going tight end at this point cuz yeah, a lot the running backs I was into as an RB2 are gone. So going tight
18:30end either with LaPorta or the guy you queued is cool is cool with me.
18:34>> I like I'm going to let's go with let's go with Harold Fanin Jr. I know you're really close with LaPorta.
18:40I hate to say this one because it's our first team together, but I have with with so much Sam LaPorta right now it's
18:45scary.
18:47And and I and and Harold Fanin Jr. I love to play catch up on.
18:50Shout out to Pizza Machine doesn't like don't go tight end there. I get it.
18:54There's going to be some tight ends in in the sixth round as well potentially, but I really love getting I think
19:00another number one target in Harold Fanin Jr. there. LaPorta I love. I think the spike weeks could be there. I love I
19:06love betting on Detroit's offense.
19:07That's my pick to sort of lead the NFL in points per game this year and I'm open to drafting all of those guys.
19:15Running backs are I don't think that they necessarily the edge there that Fanning has and I think there's sort of a nightmare scenario that we reach on a
19:21running back, that running back doesn't pay off here at the 506, and then we get kind of steamrolled at tight end, and
19:28then we're sort of having to piecemeal it together. I do think there are some running backs that are going to be
19:32intriguing from rounds like 8 through 12 where we're going to play kind of play catch up a little bit at the position,
19:38but we're already a hero RB build.
19:40Fanning, I I think he's a little underrated in the community. Uh, last year he was the youngest tight end in football and he's like basically nuked
19:49David Njoku, came out of the MAC and no player comes out of the MAC. I mean, historically none of the stars that have
19:55come out of the MAC, um, some of the stars that have come out of the MAC, they all take a while to ramp
20:00up, um, and then you end up getting like Fanning doing it last year at 21 years old. So, shout out to Pizza Machine who
20:07says, "No way he stays number one target with Kacy Concepcion and Denzel Boston."
20:11I get that argument, but I do think the fact that it's going to be two rookies out the gate, we're going to get an
20:16exceptional target share to start out the year. I've been drafting also both of the Browns wide receivers. I think they're all priced pretty well. Um, I
20:24like too many Browns. I like Quinshaun Jenkins as well this year.
20:27Uh, but really an really an interesting one there.
20:30>> Yeah, it it's really tough. Um, my like LaPorta argument is mostly like we've
20:40A, we've seen him be even with or ahead of Jameson Williams in the target pecking order for essentially both of their entire careers together. If you
20:48look at per route stats, if you look at target share when they're on the field together, it's always clearly been LaPorta ahead.
20:55Uh, you have Drew Petzing coming in who has is like amazing for tight end usage, comes from like the Stefanski kind of
21:04coaching tree that's also always been amazing for tight end usage. You see that Trey McBride has been above a 70% route share in like his last 27 games in
21:15a row or something like that is the stat.
21:18LaPorta has been in terms of non-tight end premium that which is just a number I have in my head like 15 fantasy points
21:25per game in his career games above a 70% route share just when he's played the full-time role. I expect that for
21:32LaPorta this year. That's why he's kind of my favorite flavor of this like middle round tight end tier.
21:40But yeah, Fanning's a baller, man. Like the season that he just had as a rookie.
21:46And then so not not only just the season he had as a rookie, but then that you get a new coaching staff coming in.
21:54You have the GM and Todd Monken comparing him to Brock Bowers. You have them not not just that, but also them
22:01not making a move to add like a serious every down inline Y tight end, which just tells you that Fanning's going to
22:08play that role despite any potential blocking deficiencies you might want to nitpick.
22:14That's really bullish. I totally hear it. It ultimately does just come down to like offense expectation for me and what like breaks the tie. But there there's a
22:23great case for either of them, I think.
22:26>> So we're two picks away and I think there's two players that really stand out for me here at the 607. So I think
22:32we'll get one of them.
22:34Let's wait and see what the and let's you know, we don't necessarily need to even talk about player number three, Ryan, cuz he might come back around.
22:41I'll throw one other player into consideration just as the swing for the fences guy.
22:46But let's see which way this team goes at the 606.
22:50About 30 seconds left on the clock.
22:52Okay. So this it's Ryan Ryan, listen listen, it's this is this is it here. This is we we argued about this player, but I think at
23:00the 607 he's clearly the the value on the board here. I think we jump into Jonathan Brooks here. This is right in line with
23:08I think your comfort level for him. Uh where are you at on this?
23:13>> No, it is. We can I absolutely give give you my blessing to click the draft button on Jonathan Brooks >> Okay. There we go.
23:20There we go.
23:21>> I was kind of ranting about this on Twitter this morning that Theo is referring to uh where and to be clear
23:30like my engagement with like the cutting edge of the high stakes fantasy football ADP markets is basically that I follow Theo on Twitter. I I do not I'm not as
23:40plugged into this like side of fantasy football nearly as much as Theo is. Um but yeah, my kind of
23:49perception from what I'd seen and like what other analysts were just tweeting in terms of where they're willing to rank Jonathan Brooks now uh
23:58was that people were putting him up kind of in that round five tier with a DeAndre Swift, with a Bashaul Tou in,
24:05with like a Bucky Irving, like all of those kind of running backs. Uh I would I'm very against that. I think Brooks is
24:12clearly a worse bet than anyone in that range. I largely because all of those are just better offenses. We are at a
24:20point with Brooks now where I've been ahead on his ADP pre-Hubbard injury just because I believed yeah, he's a more explosive player than Hubbard. He's a
24:31He's very likely a better receiver from what we saw from him in college, from what we've seen from Hubbard in the
24:36league. I like I totally buy that he was going to take over the backfield at some point and I had him ranked aggressively
24:43accordingly.
24:44So, but the Hubbard injury doesn't actually change that much. It just kind of brings the timeline up. It just makes it a lot more likely that he has like a
24:52strongly projectable week one role. Uh but I could say that I would say that about all of those other players, all
24:59those other names I just mentioned. So, uh, on a build like this where we already have a Derrick Henry, I I think
25:07Brooks is a totally reasonable pick as our RB2 here to swing for the fences a little bit.
25:13Ramondre Stevenson is the guy that I haven't ranked him ahead of just because I think Stevenson fits more builds. He fits like the catch-up build. I think
25:23the overall upside is relatively similar between the two of them. Of course, lean to Ramondre for the better offense. But, yeah, I mean, arguably Henderson,
25:35depending what you think of that whole situation, is more of a threat for touches down the stretch. But, that that's like where he should be
25:42considered, in my opinion. It is like if I rank him right behind Stevenson, and if you draft him ahead of that, it
25:49should be because your team allows you to take that upside swing.
25:52>> Yeah, I mean, I think in an ideal world, Jonathan Brooks is your running back three, and in your flex is a better than
25:57on your RB2, but I think for theoretical unknown upside, he's as good as anybody in this range, especially with Chuba Hubbard, a player who's been kind of a
26:05compiler, lacks explosive runs, not a great receiver, versus Brooks who has all this juice in the passing game, and Dave Canales sort of has talked about
26:13it. For the podcast listening audience, it goes Tray Sermon Henderson, then Judarian Price, Jonathan Brooks, Ramondre Stevenson, a mini running back
26:21run inside of round six, uh, with Tucker Kraft in the middle of those guys. Then we get a wide receiver run. Jameson
26:28Williams would have been really fun.
26:29Jordan Tyson would have been really fun.
26:31A lot of fun wide receivers just went off the board. George Kittle also would have been a really fun tight end two.
26:37He's gone now, as well. Um, we we have a really uh, fun upside team here. Tony Pollard just goes, "Okay, so Ryan, I
26:45know we talked about this, and we talked about the siren call. But, I think at this point we can do it if if if you
26:51want. It's It's I mean, waiting on QB is the way to go, but we have this correlation bet with Derrick Henry. We have a chance to
27:01take his quarterback here.
27:03Um and I don't see an edge pick. You don't like Isaiah Likely. So, I don't want to twist your arm and make you take
27:09Isaiah Likely.
27:10He would be my pick of the position players. Do you see another player you really want to push? Or do you want to
27:15go with quarterback and and break what we talked about?
27:19>> I'm very cool with going quarterback here. The only other player I'd put up for consideration would be a Chris Godwin, probably. But, I'm
27:28totally cool with our build and we're getting him four rounds after Josh Allen. I'm very fine with I'm very fine with that with Lamar Jackson.
27:37>> I think we can get a wide receiver similar to Chris Godwin around eight.
27:40Let's take Lamar Jackson. Okay, so this was not We talked about this and I talked about this with Scott Barrett in the when we did our FFPC Main Event.
27:49And it was Yeah, wait on QB, guys. Wait on QB, but Lamar Jackson we get the correlation with with Derrick Henry.
27:55It's sort of a double bet on the Baltimore Ravens. I think there's the it's positive sort of there's been studies on correlation between running
28:03back and quarterback, but I think when it's the rushing upside quarterbacks like that that bet gets a little bit easier to make. It's a double bet on
28:11Baltimore with Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson. Waiting on quarterback, I've had FFPC builds where I wait till like round 12 and get my quarterback then and
28:20it's worked out fantastic. But, I do think in round seven the fact that we're talking about players that are not necessarily edge picks like Chris
28:29Godwin is more I feel like a structural pick. Um Isaiah Likely I really like, Ryan does not. You have a bunch of these
28:36bets in round seven that are very similar to the bets in round eight, very similar to the bets in round nine. So, I
28:43feel like us passing up on a Chris Godwin is not like a break us type deal.
28:48With Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry, if you run pure in weeks 15 through 17 and you get spike week after spike week
28:54after spike week, you could theoretically move way, way up in an overall contest like this. So, that's it. And I do have Drake Maye and Jayden
29:02Daniels right in line with with Lamar Jackson, if not ahead of them in my own rankings. I did a big rankings update.
29:10Drake Maye's my QB2, Daniel's my three, Lamar Jackson my four. But they're all so close in my rankings. Ryan, you have
29:16Lamar Jackson as your QB2 though and you have him as a viable threat to Josh Allen.
29:24>> Yeah, I mean, he he led all quarterbacks in fantasy points per game before he had his lower body injury last year. I mean,
29:31that that was only a few games and he didn't play well when he came back from injury. I think it's it's absolutely true of Lamar Jackson
29:39that defenses do not treat him the same way when the run threat is not there.
29:45But when it is, like if these two guys, Lamar Jackson plus Derrick Henry, run pure, that's just like one of the most
29:51broken like match-up cheat codes that exist in the NFL. As we saw in the 2024 season. And yeah, I think the
30:00correlation between quarterback and even like a non-pass catching running back from a seasonal perspective is underrated. People, especially like in
30:11DFS, people are often saying, "Well, I don't want to play Lamar Jackson plus Derrick Henry because Derrick Henry's not going to
30:19catch any passes. They're taking touchdowns away from each other." But A, for like a 99th percentile outcome, that hasn't been true. Those guys have
30:28been optimal together in plenty of weeks over the last couple years.
30:33And yeah, from a season-long perspective, it's just a bet on the Ravens having one of the best offenses in the NFL.
30:40And I say this like in on Underdog when people are saying, "Oh, well, I want to draft like a Tony Pollard or
30:49like a running back on like kind of a two down back on like a not as great team." I'm like, "You should be drafting
30:54their quarterback as well. Like you should be doing Tony Pollard and Cam Ward because you need the Titans to be a
31:01better team, a better offense than expected for that pick to work out. You may as well bet on it in both ways." Um
31:08But yeah, I I think obviously this is like the much more exciting version of that bet, but I yeah, I think you're
31:14smart for bringing it up here.
31:16>> Yeah, I mean, I get it and and we when you wait on quarterback, a lot of times you the the two-for-twos end up being
31:21pretty good. And but in this case, I think we can we can live with it. Uh shout out to Tom Strachan who's in the
31:27chat over here on YouTube. Tom is a a great best ball mind. I highly recommend all of his podcasts.
31:35Um R.J. Harvey goes off the board. I know you had him in the queue, Ryan, sort of a poor man's Jonathan Brooks
31:41outcome. Uh you've sort of talked about that. We avoid having to have that sort of our argument. Um and again, if you
31:47want to play against Ryan and I in the FFPC and you are a new sign-up, use the code Theo25, get $25 off. And if you
31:55want to play in the Big Gorilla or the Main Event, I dropped a Main Event and Big Gorilla Targets by round article
32:03that I'm updating throughout the the summer, sort of players that I I consider priority targets, players I consider targets. And Ryan, I'll say I
32:10hit on priority target Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Chris Olave, Garrett Wilson, Harold Fannin, Jonathan Brooks.
32:16Lamar Jackson I don't have in there because I don't want to consider him when he's in the round five, round six,
32:21but round seven completely open-minded to it. I'm also going to have to redo the article cuz Jonathan Brooks' ADP is going to move up. Ryan, we are going to
32:29track this one and I will get in in your DMs for sure.
32:32Um we see Blake Corum, R.J. Harvey, Chuba Hubbard go off the board, Courtland Sutton, Joe Burrow. We're going to see a quarterback run. Ryan, I
32:39have a couple guys in the queue here.
32:41I'm open-minded to several of them.
32:44Uh I think it's the guy at the top who I know is boring, but I'm into Um if you want to go with a I think the
32:52two tight ends are also interesting, but we need to get play a little bit of catch-up here at the running back position.
32:59Um so, I think I'd like him more than the running backs that I think will be there in round nine if he's there, and I
33:06think the tight ends there's going to be some interesting tight ends in round nine. I just put one more in the queue,
33:13and I think your guy could be there potentially as well the way this board is settling.
33:18So, I I think we should take J.K.
33:19Dobbins here.
33:22>> I think I agree. That's He's not like my favorite pick to make, but structurally I think this makes sense if you're
33:31waiting this long on RB2 and going with the Jonathan Brooks. I think you want like a stable early season presence there. Dobbins certainly fits that. Uh
33:42yeah, I'm I'm totally good with him here. The only My other consideration would be Rashad White, uh but I I think
33:48if you're a little more bearish on White based on >> I like them I like them both.
33:53>> news, that's fine. Yeah.
33:54>> I think we're still open to to Rashad White. I think there's a chance he's there in round nine. I've taken him in
33:58round eight. I think the Stefon Diggs has sort of pushed him down a little bit. Let's take Dobbins, and I think
34:05White is absolutely still in play for round nine, and I put in a couple of guys in in the queue that I know you're
34:11into.
34:12>> Yeah.
34:12>> One of them I One of them who who's number three in the queue I don't even like, but I think it's a
34:18good bet with this team. Um and then I put one of your favorite guys sort of at five in the queue that I'm very very
34:25open-minded to. I'm going to add in one more guy that I think you're going to like that I think we'd be playing kind
34:30of chicken to see if he's there in round 10. If we want him, might want to just take him in the ninth. So so for the
34:36podcast listening audience, fun team Jackson Smith-Njigba in the first round, Derrick Henry in round two, Chris Olave in round three, Garrett Wilson in round
34:45four, Harold Landry in round five, Jonathan Brooks in round six, Lamar Jackson in round seven, JK Dobbins in round eight, Rashaad White does go one
34:54pick later, Kyle Monangai two picks later. So we're going to see a little bit of running back clean up. After our
34:59Lamar Jackson pick, Drake May, Joe Burrow, and Jayden Daniels all go. We're going to see a few more of these quarterbacks go off the board. Um your
35:08thoughts on this team, Ryan?
35:10>> Yeah, I really like it so far. I think we have drafted very well structurally.
35:16We haven't uh kind of gone super far uh into like one direction. We've always pulled it back and played catch-up where
35:23we need to. Uh I I guess I am just like looking at this board and thinking had we gone with Trey McBride over Derrick
35:30Henry, would we have liked how this team turned out as much? Uh we probably would have had to pull up a running back in
35:37>> have taken maybe Breece or you would have maybe gone Breece Hall Breece Hall and or Cam Akers. So I think the
35:43two-for-twos are fine, but you you have a lot of conviction on Derrick Henry, so I don't mind it. Um really really fun
35:48one. Q J was in our queue. He goes at the 8.12. I think that's pretty good value for him.
35:55Um so we are six picks away and just a quick reminder that RotoWire is partnering with Splash Sports. They have a survivor contest. They have two of
36:03them. $150,000 guaranteed. There's a $100,000 uh a league where it's a $15 entry where you just pick an NFL team. And then
36:13there's a very cool one which is a $25 entry. It's a $50,000 prize where you have to pick a touchdown scorer each
36:21week. Really like a nice little twist.
36:23Use the code RotoWire and get a 50% off bonus or 50% match bonus when you sign up at Splash Sports. Go check it out.
36:32Ryan, our queue's getting a little bit beat up here, but we still have a couple of bullets.
36:37Which way are you leaning here?
36:40I think that I prefer the the two wide receivers, but if you want to lean into the structure, I think he's not going to be there in
36:50round 10.
36:52If you want to lean into the correlation, we can. Or if you want to just go with the most dangerous pick. I
36:56think it's probably Jayden Reed for me.
36:59I'm open-minded to Stefon Diggs as well.
37:02And then the other player we could sort of talk about him if we pass him up.
37:07>> Yeah, let's We can I think we're okay in terms of the first guy in the queue.
37:14So let's go with Jayden Reed here and I think we can catch up on in terms of that other position.
37:20There'll be enough to do after him.
37:23>> Yeah, I mean we made a big bet on Harold Landry Jr. So you know, I think we're pretty good. There's going to be a few
37:28tight ends coming up. There's also going to be some other other wide receivers, but you've sort of talked about Jayden Reed
37:34as as a player you you're very open-minded to. You've talked about him pretty much for like 6 months now. Why don't you share sort of what an upside
37:42outcome season looks like for him and the value he sort of presents to us in a potential flex role?
37:49>> So there are kind of two things that have been happening with Jayden Reed for the last handful of seasons that have
37:55been depressing the upside and kind of making him be a guy that like analysts are constantly talking about but that never like seems to put put it all
38:04together.
38:06One is that he has basically never played in two receiver sets, so he can only really be on the field when the
38:13Packers are in 11 personnel. And second is that the even beyond that, the Packers have just used this wide receiver rotation where we would get all
38:23of these Dontayvion Wicks snaps, we would get all of these Bo Melton snaps that nobody asked for. Savion Williams, like there would always just be this
38:31like flux of names kind of with the Packers like rotating through five different wide receivers at three starting spots.
38:39That is very likely not happening anymore.
38:43Matt LaFleur has been pretty consistent this off season in saying that while they're going to miss Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks, one of the nice things
38:52is that it means more playing time and more targets for their star players that they can just be a little bit more
38:58concentrated now. And now we're looking at at worst a three receiver set of Christian Watson, Matthew Golden, and Jayden Reed. And I am personally off of
39:09Matthew Golden. To to me he has never shown anything in college in the NFL that makes me think he is a fantasy friendly wide
39:17receiver. He has never commanded anything even approaching the target share or the target per route run that we've seen from a Watson and a Reed. So
39:25even if it is only Reed in three receiver sets and the Packers lean a little more in that direction this year,
39:32which I think makes sense given their personnel now, then that's great for Reed. He could like approach a season high in routes.
39:40Whenever that happens, Reed will be a very strong fantasy pick. Or he could simply overtake a Matthew Golden in two receiver sets. From preseason usage last
39:49night, that wasn't what we saw, but I'm at least open to it. I don't think it's a done deal like it is with a Josh
39:55Downs, but yeah, down here in a league that has like some additional flex spots and you want like a little bit more of like an an upside
40:04hit from wide receiver, I think Reed like fits this build very perfectly. And he's going to kind of let us I I think I
40:11feel very strong about like this kind of group of starters and flex options we have. So we I think we can do fun stuff
40:18in terms of like filling out our bench now and maybe platooning some tight ends. We'll see what we do up here, but
40:24I think we can go anyway now.
40:27>> Yeah, big a shout out to Mark Lambert in the chat who was talking about Jacquory Crosskery Merritt if he came back to us.
40:33He goes off the board. He would have been a really fun pick in round 10. I think the market is leaning into
40:39Crosskery Merritt. I think I'm way more open-minded than you are on Matthew Golden. Actually wouldn't have like completely minded the double tap. I
40:46think it's a strong bet. My Just my whole take with Green Bay is there's so much contingent contingent value when it
40:53comes to the wide receiver position where if one goes down Savion Williams would be on the field in like three wide
40:59receiver sets. I think he's got a really limited ceiling in terms of targets he could take on. And I think Golden the
41:04potential he's a full-time player there with Reed still being like annoyingly used as as a three wide receiver set 11 personnel
41:12only guy even though the drum beats are there that you could see him in more two wide receiver sets. You've also got
41:17Tucker Kraft where if Kraft goes down and there's re-aggravation there, there's no Luke Musgrave this year. So it's going to be like a complete zero at
41:25tight end. So I'm kind of into Golden, but we don't need to consider him here.
41:29Again, he might be gone by the time we pick. We see Debo Samuel go off the board, Casey Concepcion. Stefon Diggs
41:36was in our queue. We are three picks away here. I like a couple of these guys in the queue.
41:44I think we've got uh some really fun options when we get here.
41:48Okay, so we're we are OTC here. I I think for for us here we can play this and potentially get two
41:56of these guys, Ryan.
41:58Um I think for me now is probably the time if you want to take Mark Andrews, we take him right now.
42:06>> I want to take him. Let's do it.
42:07>> Okay.
42:07>> That's fine.
42:08>> take Mark Andrews. I love the I love player number three.
42:12And I think number three can be there at 11:06. I think number four number four, too.
42:16>> names I wrote down before this draft, Theo, was that player number three that you have. So, yes, that's >> Okay. So, we're on the same page. We're
42:23on the >> board.
42:25Yeah.
42:25>> Andrews? I mean, for me, Mark Andrews, this is just a For me, it's a structural pick. We made a double bet on Baltimore.
42:31Now, we have a triple bet on Baltimore.
42:33Um you know, I much prefer guys like Dallas Goedert to him this year. I mean, I could be completely wrong about Mark
42:40Andrews. I just don't love the the edge he presents this year. But again, now when we're we're when we're in positive
42:48matchups for Baltimore, and besides Zay Flowers, they don't necessarily have a secondary pass catcher. It feels like Justice Hill has a real chance to be the
42:58highly used wide receiver there. It's Rashod Bateman. It's Elijah Serratt.
43:01It's Tez Walker. Uh maybe a little Justice Hill out of the backfield. Not much maybe with this staff. So, and Mark
43:07Andrews, it's Mark Andrews and a bunch of tight ends they're trying to break in. There's no Charlie Kolar. There's certainly no Isaiah Likely. Um where is
43:14your enthusiasm level for Andrews? Do you view it like I do structurally, or do you think this it could be a
43:19potential edge?
43:21>> I Right now, if you asked me, like, Ryan, which tight end should I kind of draft later in my home league draft,
43:28Andrews is not one of them. I But I mean, I get the case for him, right?
43:33He's on one of the best offenses in the NFL, and he's the effectively the only red zone target that we've ever seen get get actual
43:41targets uh in the red zone that it that is on this offense right now. Like, the touchdown equity could be insane with
43:48Andrews, even if he is uh kind of a declining uh closer to part-time player.
43:54So, in this format uh where it's tight end premium, you can have like the deeper benches to kind of platoon your
44:03tight ends and play the matchups potentially uh in like playing Mark Andrews stacked with Lamar into shootouts,
44:12like in the playoff weeks of this format sounds amazing to me. I I think he's worth it like just for that fact of
44:20having that kind of optionality. And who knows, he could come out in week one and have like a better role, more like a higher route share than
44:28we've seen from him in previous seasons.
44:31I'm not like entirely ruling that out, so yeah, I think just since we've gone so heavy on Ravens, he makes a ton of
44:38sense here.
44:39He's like a a nice kind of second leg useful piece in our tight end room. Uh and yeah, that's that's my thoughts on
44:46him. So, no, he's not someone I'm drafting ahead of a Dalton Kincaid or a Dallas Goedert who I would have been
44:51excited about and probably lobby lobbied for if they'd made it to our pick in the round before where we picked Jayden Reed. I think where we got
45:00Andrews is great and he makes a ton of sense for this team.
45:03>> So, we get sniped on MarShawn Lloyd and I think if we didn't have Lamar Jackson, MarShawn Lloyd would have been the pick
45:09in round 10. Uh he goes at the 10.12.
45:12So, we sort of rolled the dice and he'd come back in the 11th round. We're still only at three running backs with this
45:19build, but I think a fun three running backs with Derrick Henry, Jonathan Brooks, JK Dobbins. We're going to have to hit some running back values. We have
45:26two tight ends. We're at four wide receivers. Very balanced here.
45:30Juwan Johnson goes off the board. That was another player we had in the queue.
45:34Would have been so sort of a maybe an unnecessary player to take after we took Andrews and Fant, but Juwan Johnson in
45:41tight end premium does have a lot of value. And Ryan, I'll just remind everybody this is where we talk about the siren call in FFPC. Where we took
45:48Lamar Jackson and yeah, the two-for-twos are are fine. It's not like we feel like Chris Godwin missing out on him or I
45:56probably would have preferred Josh Downs. But now you look at the quarterbacks still on the board. I mean, it's it's gross. You get a Dak Prescott,
46:04Brock Purdy, Jared Goff, all these really strong values are going to go in these next couple of rounds. So, just if you're
46:11going to draft FFPC, understand when you do what Ryan and I did, you don't have to do it. You can build your your QB
46:17room with like a double tap in the double digit rounds. We are three picks away.
46:22Um >> Yeah.
46:23The The only two V2 I'm beat up about is the guy that got Jalen Hurts, Josh Downs instead of Lamar Jackson and Jayden
46:30Reed. That That's one that I'd have liked, but the rest I think I'm all right with.
46:35>> Okay, so for me, I I sort of like this is the the thing where we we're partnering up and I think we've already
46:40made a bet. I think we make a second bet here.
46:42And I think we take the the biggest edge pick on the board for me is is the guy at the top of our queue. I know you
46:47don't like him, but 11th round I feel like is a good one and it's sort of a double bet with what we've done with the
46:54other pick.
46:55We could also take player number two in the queue, which I know you like.
47:00Player number three might be their 1207.
47:02Uh we're going to have to start playing catch up at running back though. I would advocate strongly for player number one.
47:08>> Yeah, I'm good with Matthew Golden here.
47:10You can go ahead and hit draft player.
47:12I will say had had Chris Rodriguez gotten to our pick, I would have fought you to draft Chris Rodriguez, which would have been a very funny
47:20kind of role reversal for anyone familiar with my stance on the Jaguars backfield.
47:26>> Yeah, I I also I'll give a I'll give a shout out to a commenter here. My guy Mark Lambert, who I think that was you
47:31Mark, was furious that I had a guest making the pro Chris Rodriguez take. I had a guest who's well known in fantasy made a
47:39very pro Chris Rodriguez take and I've but I've been on the record Ryan. We've been Breaux To 'em guys for six months.
47:46I want people to understand like I'm Breaux To 'em guy, but Chris Rodriguez in round 11, you're open-minded to that Ryan and Ryan, you are Mr. Breaux To 'em
47:55right now.
47:56>> I am Mr. Breaux To 'em, but I mean I have to acknowledge reality which is that in a on a team like this where we
48:04kind of want to stack bets in ambiguous backfields. Chris Rodriguez makes some sense to me. Like I don't think C Rod as a ceiling ever can
48:13is ever getting like the the screen work the receptions that we could potentially see out of a Bashton this year if everything goes
48:21right but it's totally in the range of outcomes that C Rod kind of just hangs on to goal line work for most of the
48:28season and gets enough on the ground that he's like a kind of a startable like member of a platoon at our RB2
48:36slot. Like that totally would have fit this team. The contingent value is awesome. It this is like the backfield I've been that I and I guess everyone
48:44has been the most obsessed with like on a team like this I would have been running to the podium to draft C Rod if
48:50he had lasted two more picks than he did but I'm fine with Golden. After C Rod I really think like it flattens out
48:57considerably at running back so we can kind of go any which way here in terms of catching up there but yeah that that would have been fun
49:06if I if I got to lobby for him.
49:08>> Yeah we're we're there's a few running backs that are interesting. There's also a couple other players in our queue that
49:14I think are interesting.
49:16The one player you added in I understand like you like him but there's no there's really no correlation there. So I don't
49:22know if it's necessary necessarily an edge. There'll be some other guys a little later. I you you added player number three or did I misclick him Ryan?
49:30>> I did not add number three. I only added player number two.
49:33>> That's that yeah I don't I I put that evil on you Ryan. There's like I'm like but it was just me misclicking
49:41a big shout out to how active our chat is. If you're listening on the podcast come check out the YouTube tube feed as
49:47well. We are at over 40,000 uh Ryan came on earlier this uh this I think that was in August, Ryan, or was
49:56that in July? It doesn't matter. This summer, Ryan joined us here. That show did great. Uh big shout out to all the
50:01people supporting the show, and also all the guests I've had on. It's been a great summer here at Rotowire. I podcasted with Ryan about a million
50:09times at this point. Um and make sure you're checking out all the work he's putting over at Fantasy Points. Really one of the best writers there is in
50:16fantasy football, period. Uh Ryan, you I hope the FSWA gives you the award this year. I was talking about it with Scott
50:21Barrett. I mean, what are these guys thinking, man? What are these guys thinking? Give Give Ryan the award. It's over. Might as
50:27well not write another article over at Fantasy Points this year. You've done enough. Uh Jonah Coleman goes, "That would have been a player that I would
50:32have really liked in round 12." Double bet with JK Dobbins. I think double tapping the Denver Broncos room when you don't have to reach on a guy,
50:41it's very viable because JK Dobbins, we know the injury history.
50:46RJ Harvey, I think he's a huge wide range of outcomes guy. And uh Jonah Coleman is sort of the the mystery wild
50:53card here.
50:54We're three picks away. Uh there's a couple of really fun uh players in our in our queue still.
51:01For me, number three is the upside pick, though. I think he's really good. And I think he's uh potentially huge viable player. We
51:10already had a little injury scare with the player ahead of him. Again, it was a a minor note, but a guy who's a little
51:16bit older.
51:18Player two is really, really strong upside swing if we want to go there.
51:22Player number one, obviously, I'm open to him. He's uh he's the goat. Um player number four is really more of a 13-round
51:29consideration for me.
51:31I put one more 13th-round guy in there.
51:34What's your lean here, Ryan?
51:37>> I think player number three, based on the team we've built so far, should be our priority, and then we try to get
51:44player number two in round 13. Uh I'm okay with missing out on him if we are just trying to yeah, push it like that.
51:53I'd I'd be disappointed, but I yeah, I think I I think the Okay, now we're on the clock.
52:00I think Tank Bigsby makes the most sense here for for our build and then the player we have above him in the queue, I
52:06think would be next round.
52:08>> Yeah, I think we got to be prepared to lose him. We'll see if he's there in round 13, but Tank Bigsby we both I
52:15podcast with Ryan Paganetti. I know he's come on your channel. He's sort of sung the praises of Tank Bigsby. I put out
52:21like a positive thing on on X about Tank Bigsby where Bigsby last year was just terrific in terms of like a lot of the
52:28analytical stats in terms of running the football. He was sort of ahead of Saquon Barkley on on a lot of stats and there's
52:34drumbeats that I think he's going to be mixed in. Not a guy that we're we're going to want to start. But if Saquon
52:40Barkley were to miss time, Tank Bigsby would be a top 15, maybe even a top 12 running back based on the
52:47quality of the offense, quality of the offensive line, the running threat of Jalen Hurts. Getting him as our running back four, we're sort of having to make
52:55a bold case for him, but he's good at football and he's in a really good offense and we're going to start seeing
53:01these handcuffs fly off the board. We had Woody Marks in the queue. We had Tyjae Spears in the queue. Again, we
53:06talked about Jonah Coleman.
53:08We're we're going to start seeing running backs fly and fly. So, I think that was the correct move to make and it
53:14takes a little bit of the pressure off of us.
53:18And I think we can also I'll throw in one guy in the queue just for for late for us to for this
53:23team we should consider. I'm going to throw in a couple more guys in.
53:28>> Yeah, I'm throwing I just threw one in that we might consider later.
53:33Um not married to it, but just so we don't forget about it.
53:37>> I think it's fine. I think it's fine. I mean, I think we're we're in great shape there.
53:42Uh I think we're thinking you're thinking edge and upside whenever you can here and really I I had this conversation with Ben Gretch where
53:50we get so captivated into like which guys should we take in this round and there goes Terrance Ferguson. We would have loved to have gotten him.
53:57>> Ah.
53:57>> Uh, Terrance Ferguson he's a priority target for me in my FFPC article over rotowire.com.
54:03Really really like him a great deal uh, especially in this range like a theoretical big-time asset at the tight end position and then it sort of gets
54:12way way more boring at the position.
54:14I'll throw one other guy that I think is a fun structural pick here at four.
54:19Um, really good counting stats last year. His role is pretty solid.
54:24Uh, we are pretty open-minded to a number of guys here Ryan.
54:28I'm going to pull up one more guy that I think is really fun.
54:33And he was actually taken. So this is the problem with these live drafts. I missed a couple of the picks.
54:38We're we're sort of wide open here in terms of which way we can go.
54:46>> Is there So I guess I'll ask you this.
54:49Is there anything and we you don't have to say names, but is is there anything at tight end that you that excites you
54:57after Terrance Ferguson is off the board? Do you have like priority targets after that?
55:03>> Yeah, I mean my my >> I don't think you need to add Yeah, go for it.
55:06>> My guy I have it My guy I have it four in the queue.
55:09It's not something that's going to like get us all excited, but you look at his counting stats last year. You look at
55:15like what the team's trying to do this year. I think like if you want to grab a tight end uh, Dalton Schultz is fun. I have one
55:23other sort of break glass in case of emergency tight end that I like as well that could goes a little bit later. Um,
55:30there's a couple of late tight end bets that I think are interesting, but if you want to catch up structurally I think he's the play
55:38And I don't think there's another player like I would advocate for player number three uh or number four. If you want to go
55:45with an upside quarterback, the player at the very top, Bo Nix and Jared Goff are both strong QB2 bets, but we don't
55:51really need a QB2. We've already made our bed with Lamar. So, I'd say for me it's Dalton Schultz or Rashid Shaheen.
55:58>> Yeah, I think we go Schultz and just be done at tight end.
56:01>> Yeah, that's fine.
56:02>> cool with that. Yeah, I I've I really feel like it's Terrance Ferguson is like Terrance Ferguson and Aronde Gadsden are like the
56:10last trains to leave the station at tight end for me. Those are the guys that I want as my tight end stashes in
56:17deeper formats. Uh with Gadsden, I understand it's not great that he's uh playing with the twos, but he's not like a guy you're looking to start in week
56:26one anyway. The bet there is really that uh through whether through attrition or through uh just Mike McDaniel trying different things as the season goes on
56:35that he works his way into a role. Uh that was what had to happen with Jonnu Smith when he had his insane breakout
56:43with uh >> [laughter] >> with Mike McDaniel. That was largely what happened to Darren Waller. Uh I guess including an injury early in the
56:50season for him.
56:51But, it doesn't like Gadsden doesn't need to pan out in week one. Like he he can be a guy that pops later in the
56:58season in a deeper format where you can hold him all year. That's something I'm fine with. Um I prefer Ferguson at this
57:03point. Uh yeah, just based on recent events, but he's those are like the last like upside tight ends to me. I I think once they're
57:11off the board, I'm totally cool with saying, "Yeah, we we we were good at tight end here. Like we kept up. We can
57:17just kind of cap it off with a Dalton Schultz um and then just not worry about it for the rest of the draft cuz I yeah,
57:23there's no other names after that that get me particularly excited now.
57:28>> I'm surprised you haven't been uh Jacob Gibbs-pilled onto player number five in our queue who Jacob is like I think
57:35that's his his his white whale at the tight end position from some of the analytics.
57:42>> Yeah, I [sighs] I I get it. I think player number five is going to run a lot of routes um but
57:49that's like the nicest thing I feel like I can say about him. I don't know. I haven't heard the Jacob Gibbs case for
57:54him so maybe I should >> a couple of He's got a couple of remarkably good stats backing him up.
58:01Um so yeah, we'll we'll we'll talk about him. We'll talk about him. The chat's already talking about him. So uh if you're if you're in our draft, the
58:08chat is talking about him but uh and and people are making fun of my Dalton Schultz is is fun. There's nothing really fun about him but
58:15structurally he is fun and look, the counting stats on Dalton Schultz were there from last year. I really like Jayden Higgins. I've drafted uh Jayden
58:24Higgins. Yeah, I don't want to be associated with Dalton Schultz but when we look at tight end premium, how effective Dalton Schultz was last year,
58:32I had Dalton Schultz on like uh some dynasty benches and I was able to use him. Really strong year for me in
58:37dynasty last year in FFPC. Schultz had over 80 receptions. This is tight end premium.
58:43Uh there's a chance that that regresses significantly but he was pretty good last year in this sort of format. Not a
58:50player that gives you a whole lot of upside but I think structurally he helps you get there. We're at three tight ends
58:55like Ryan said, we don't feel any pressure here at the tight end position now that we have these three guys. And
59:02Tom Strackan called me a Dalton Schultz stan. I'm I'm ruined here guys. I'm effectively ruined >> Yeah.
59:08Don't put it in the newspaper that Theo is a Dalton Schultz stan but I I did hear that.
59:12>> it. I'm going to rock I'm going to rock the jersey. Uh shout out from Rubio, they're talking about Juwan Jordan in in
59:19Houston.
59:20Pizza Machine who was furious at our Lamar Jackson pick likes the Schultz pick.
59:26Um the active chat here, really appreciate you guys making these uh drafts a lot more fun. I'm I'm doing back-to-backs here, Ryan. This is not
59:33one, this but two drafts here. Drafting with Mike Shope tonight. I love Mike Shope. I'm going on his radio show at
59:404:00. So, if you're in Western New York or Upstate New York, Mike doesn't want me to call it Upstate New York, but it's
59:45Buffalo. Don't you people from Buffalo consider yourselves to be in Upstate New York? You're way higher than we are on Long Island. Uh, Western New York, I'm
59:52going to be on WGR with Mike and the Bulldog this afternoon. And then, Mike Shope's joining me at 7:00. We're doing
59:58an FFPC Main Event. We don't have our draft slot. Ryan, what's your least favorite draft slot when you look at some of these FFPC ADPs?
60:07>> Uh, I think the roughest one is like seven or eight for me, just because I don't I don't have like the strongest
60:15feeling in like round one there. And then, it's like in round two, you're kind of having to pick between running backs that I have ranked really closely
60:23together. So, that's probably my least favorite. I'm kind of good with anywhere else though, drafting this year. I I don't think I I think one and two is
60:30clearly best, but I don't think it's super unbalanced, um, like as some people make it sound.
60:37>> I mean, I think for me, the edge pick here is probably going with an elite defense.
60:43And the Rams defense could easily be the best in football. Denver also, I'm open-minded to Denver was fantastic last year, and they have a fantastic pass
60:54rush.
60:55That's probably my lean is defense.
60:58Unless you want to lock up quarterback two, but I think we have multiple guys in in in quarterback two that could be
61:04there at fifth in the 15th round. All of the running backs we have in the queue, I think could be there in the 15th round
61:09as well.
61:10Um, I'm I sort of lean defense here, Ryan. Where are you at?
61:14>> You know the format better than me. I don't play many defenses so >> Denver or LA. Denver or Denver or LA,
61:21which one do you like the most?
61:22>> I'll I'll go LA I'll go LA for yeah.
61:24>> Okay.
61:25>> Let's do LA.
61:25>> the we took the Rams defense.
61:28We also get the free look. So, if you're if you haven't played in some of these FFPC NFFCs, you get a free look. So, the Seattle New
61:39England game and also the Rams and San Francisco game, you can take players in and out of your lineup. So, it's a nice
61:46little little fun caveat where the Rams defense if the 49ers come out and hang 35 on them and we get like an like hey,
61:54let's root for that in fantasy. Let's root for a 35 to 30 game Ryan and start the season off right, then we can take
62:00the Rams out of our lineup and put someone else in, pick them up off the waiver wire. It's just a nice thing to
62:06have. So, it's really fun if you're breaking ties in the second half of drafts, looking to grab guys like Keyshawn Boutte, guys like Tory Horton,
62:15uh just the the chance that they put up a spike week. Jake Tonjes is a really fun uh theoretical bet, especially if
62:22George Kittle might not play week one.
62:24We see a few more QBs go off the board.
62:26We're going to have to uh play catch-up a little bit at running back. I think we will draft a second quarterback. Not a
62:33whole lot of pressure there. There's one that stands out very, very uh well for us. Um especially with our build Ryan if he's
62:42there based on a couple guys we drafted.
62:45>> Yes. Yeah, I like that call a lot um that you just made. Uh the only guy that I might
62:55be like kind of pounding the table for at this point uh out outside of that uh is player number two in the queue,
63:03which I've I'm so happy that we have found a format where I I can like have a take on this player and feel really strongly about
63:11it, but we can get to it uh when when we get up on the clock maybe. Um I don't I don't know what you're
63:16>> Devil's here.
63:17>> Yeah. Like I had this conversation with with Scott, I've had this conversation with Nelson Sousa and Allen, and other people, Dan Williamson, people I draft
63:25with and people who I talk draft strategy with.
63:29One of the problems is you're kind of pot-committed to keeping him on your bench. And it's you're going to want to play that waiver
63:35wire early on. It's sort of I'm probably a little more open-minded to him next round than this round. I think there's
63:42kind of better bets to make for kind of our structure.
63:45I think Mike Washington went off the board, he would have been a really fun pick for us. I think number four is
63:51really a good pick for us here. And obviously number five would be a good pick. I haven't really been paying attention to the board, I've been
63:57looking at our queue.
64:00A lot of teams already have their second quarterback.
64:03So I think we can sort of risk it and push him back around. Team number 12 only has one quarterback.
64:11Everyone else has two quarterbacks. So Ray Davis goes there, that would have been my pick here.
64:17Uh, Ray Davis is gone.
64:19>> Yeah, and I think we can push that quarterback because the other obvious, uh, the other teams that might be interested
64:26have two quarterbacks as well, it looks like already. Yes. So I think we can wait on that quarterback.
64:33>> Yeah, I think to me it's leaning into one of the two tight ends in the queue is probably the edge
64:41pick for us, Ryan. We get the free look with number five.
64:44And number six is sort of a fun bet to make as another upside bet. I'll also throw in one more player to the bottom
64:52of the queue, which is in sort of direct handcuff territory. And we do need swings here.
64:58Um, obviously the other running back in that backfield is dealing with an injury.
65:02Where is your lean here with this pick?
65:06>> Uh, I don't see the running back you put in the A So you're going to have to call him out.
65:12>> Allen Braylon Allen was the one I put in.
65:15>> Oh, okay. I'm all set with Mr. Braylon Allen. We can We can take Gunnar Helm if we want to go a fourth tight tight end.
65:23Shout out Jacob Gibbs.
65:24>> Yeah, Jacob Gibbs has some I just did recorded a show with Jacob Gibbs. Not sure when he's dropping it, but we did a
65:30hot I've turned I've turned Jacob Gibbs into a hot takes artist. So, he did he came over here we did our bold predictions
65:36here. Now we did a bold predictions over there.
65:40Really really really really fun to record with Jacob.
65:43I know Ryan and Jacob you guys have recorded like 25 times at this point.
65:48But Jacob had some really strong takes on Colston Loveland. I had some on Brock Bowers. And then every time he does his
65:55tight end research, you end up with some like very very cool stats on Gunnar Helm.
66:02So, Ryan you might have to dive into that on Fantasy Points Data and try to see if you could uncover some cool
66:07Gunnar Helm stuff. But now we are probably officially done at tight end. I will say Jake Tonjes if he's there in
66:13round 20 with the free look and the chance that George Kittle might not play, you might get like a 17 point game
66:18out of Jake Tonjes in tight end premium.
66:20So, we can't completely take him off the list, but we are very very fragile at running back. We're pretty strong at
66:27every other position. We only have one quarterback, but we did take the second quarterback off the board. We took quarterback two in this draft, but we
66:35took him in round seven with Lamar Jackson. So, pretty fine value there.
66:40Starting to see a couple more running backs go off the board.
66:43Ryan, I'm going to throw a few more guys in for consideration. Your thoughts on this build and really any other teams
66:50that you you like what they've done in this draft.
66:54>> Yeah, I really like the build.
66:56I think we're we're like towing the line at running back.
67:01But I do think kind of just annoyingly like there were just have been a couple of runs that we've missed on some of
67:07these later guys, but I think we can maybe finish off with an another one or two running back picks. Give us uh
67:14at least like some outs there. Um but yeah, overall I really like the team.
67:21Uh not really good spot to get Lamar Jackson. I'm I'm really not that beat up about going early QB uh even despite your warnings. Um in terms
67:30of other teams that I like I I I really like uh team number one is kind of speaking to me a little bit. Uh the Jahmyr Gibbs,
67:41Colston Loveland, Malik Nabers on the turn is extremely fun.
67:46Uh they kind of yeah, anchor RB2 with David Montgomery.
67:50Yeah, that that's a nice team and they add Terrance Ferguson.
67:53Uh I team number one, I wonder if that I wonder if that guy's a Fantasy Points subscriber. He's kind of drafting like
67:58it.
67:59>> Uh well, according to according to Scott Barrett, every single FFPC Main Event drafter is a Fantasy Points subscriber by this conversation with Scott. But big
68:07big shout out to Scott. We just dropped a great show and um I'm going to be doing an FFPC Main Event draft with
68:12Scott this week. I did one over on the Fantasy Points channel.
68:15Um loved working with you guys over there and continue to podcast with you.
68:18So I think team eight did some cool stuff. Team 10 did some cool stuff.
68:21We'll look at it at the end. Kamari Vidal goes at the 16.02. That's a really disappointing player to see go. Uh he's
68:29starting to move up. I have so much Kamari Vidal in in Best Ball because for a while you were getting him like very
68:35end of the line. Now you're starting to see him go a little bit earlier. So that's disappointing. You see Nicholas Singleton go, Kaylin Black go. You're
68:44starting to see a lot of these players go. And then Pizza Machine said, "What does an edge pick mean?" To me, it's
68:49just a high upside pick that I think structurally gives you an edge or potentially season long gives you an edge. I think some of the picks that
68:56sort of like hard to see them offering any sort of upside, but I think often times I use the the the term edge pick.
69:04It's sort of an undefined thing, but that's sort of where I'm at with it. I'm just used to saying it. And I think it's
69:08really what player when you're picking sort of makes your build the most dangerous. So, for instance, for our team, the Matthew Golden pick, I think
69:16in round 11 was an edge pick. I think that the uh Lamar Jackson pick certainly was an edge pick. So, that's sort of
69:22I'm un- unwrapping it. And apparently I say steaming up too much in ADP. People think that I People think that I say
69:29that too way too much, Ryan. So, I have a couple of like common phrases, edge pick, steaming up, but hey man, we're
69:34just putting them out there in the common vernacular. Um let's uh keep this going. We We've got a number of players
69:41in the queue here. I am going to advocate for my guy at number five here, Ryan, when we're looking at direct
69:45handcuffs.
69:47He could be there in the 17th round, too, if you want to push it and and take I know probably you want to take player
69:51number three in our queue.
69:55>> Um I do. I also but I also feel like there are not that many more direct handcuffs. I I have one that I'm going
70:04to bring up later probably, but I I think if you want to take player number five just owing to the fact that we're
70:12pretty fragile at RB, I think it's fine with me.
70:15>> Let's take him. Let's take him. Let's take Braelon Allen. You know me, I've always been a sucker for Braelon Allen.
70:19I will continue to to add some Braelon Allen shares. At some point, he's going to give us some big week, Ryan. I think,
70:26you know, when when you look at what's going on in the in the New York backfield with Davis dealing with the
70:31knee injury, Braelon Allen I think it is the one there.
70:35Kamani Vidal I will point out. This happened with when I drafted with Jacob Gibbs, we had a Ashton Gentty Omarian Hampton team,
70:43and we sort of pushed uh Kamani Vidal and Mike Washington down a little too far. We ended up getting sniped on both
70:48of those guys. Kamani Vidal I feel like that ADP's trending up. Uh I feel like the the Mike Washington ADP's going to
70:55trend up. It's a clear backup role to Ashton Jeanty and Clint Kubiak offense has been very very running back friendly.
71:04Another couple guys we're seeing really steaming up in ADP is we're seeing Jayden Blue. He goes at the 11 12 in
71:11this one. MarShawn Lloyd goes at the 10 12 in this one. We're going to start seeing some MarShawn Lloyd in round
71:18eight, round nine with drafters who are high volume and trying to play the anti-Josh Jacobs either suspension suspension also banged up with a groin
71:27injury. We're starting to see some kickers go off the board. Cameron Dicker and Jason Myers go off the board.
71:32You need to draft a kicker and a defense. So anybody sort of anybody sort of looking to play like the old Yahoo and
71:40Sleeper cheat code thing where you don't draft a kicker, don't draft a defense, you were unable to do that in this this
71:45format. A lot of hatred in the chat on our Braelon Allen pick. I will I will take the bullet on that one. Ryan tried
71:52to avoid Braelon Allen. You guys can put that one on me. Um Pat Bryant goes at the 16 12. Have you moved him up in your
72:00rankings? I saw him going like the 14th round in an NFFC draft this week.
72:05>> Uh yeah, no, I need to. I am I totally buy into the idea that he could overcome Courtland Sutton and just yeah out out
72:14produce him or out target him this year.
72:16I think that's very much in the cards. I went on a long rant in my draft guide on just kind of how Courtland Sutton was
72:23diminishing down the stretch of last season in every metric that you kind of look at and it was pretty stark. So I'll that's
72:32like really is affecting how I think about the Broncos. And yeah, in deeper formats I think Pat Bryant is clearly the winner of that. I believe I added
72:41the wrong running back to the queue that I meant to.
72:47Hopefully you see what I'm going for here. I just can't seem to find this guy. Maybe maybe he's been drafted already. I don't think he has been,
72:55though.
72:55>> I added a couple of fun guys in there. I have to I added one player at at six uh six in our queue, I think it's super
73:02interesting.
73:03Um because he's got this very very um every down kind of role and there's been some positive vibes. I think we do what
73:11we wanted to do here earlier where we take our QB2 and we take Jordan Love and we have a double bet on Green Bay. We're in round
73:1917.
73:21Jordan Love as the QB2 makes sense and his bye week is not overlapping with with uh Lamar's. I think it's almost a
73:27no-brainer pick.
73:29I'm looking through the other options in the queue. I think pretty much everybody could be there at the 18th round and and
73:34Jordan Love is sort of the last quarterback available that I could see having like just smashing through.
73:40I we're probably not going to ever have to start him, but if we're trying to chase points, you know, double tapping
73:46the Green Bay wide receiver room, potentially viable. Uh I believe Lamar Jackson, correct me if I'm wrong, Lamar has like a week seven bye. I got to pull
73:56that one up.
73:58>> That sounds right to me. Uh I'm not entirely certain, but Jordan Love to me is a really strong type of
74:06>> Yeah, week 13.
74:08>> Jordan Love to me is a very strong uh like super flex or deeper league pick. He's always been by fantasy points
74:16per dropback one of the more efficient quarterbacks in the NFL, which is especially rare for like a pocket passer. Uh it's basically like him,
74:25Brock Purdy, and then like every mobile quarterback that leads that stat every single year, season after season. And with this team that we've drafted where
74:34we've taken multiple Packers pass catchers, I really don't mind leaning into the idea of maybe this Packers team uh with Josh Jacobs banged up and
74:44suspended in the beginning of the year, uh with their defense not uh like fully up to 100% right now.
74:53There's a world where this is a more pass-heavy team than we've been used to from them the last couple of seasons.
75:00Now, with Matt LaFleur, it seems like it's always very run-heavy, very slow-paced, kind of boring for fantasy, but yeah, enough like if the defensive
75:10injuries kind of start to stack up, I I could totally see the Packers like leaning into the pass. I think they're
75:16built to do it if they want to or and or that it could be something they kind of discover this season if they're forced
75:23to. So, that's yeah, a pretty a really strong pick there. I'm glad that we kept pushing Love off and got him anyway,
75:30like two rounds after we started considering him, but I think that was well-executed.
75:36>> Yeah, I think I think we're in good shape here. I think we just bite the bullet and we take player number one in
75:41our queue and and and lock that in.
75:45It's a good enough team that we can afford to do that move. And I think that the other player in that backfield is
75:52probably a little more theoretical.
75:54I think if it was like a one-week absence, the this player would be it and you know, I don't necessarily feel like
76:01it's a necessity to to go about that route, but the fact that we are so pot-invested in Derrick Henry sort of makes me want
76:10to do it here, Ryan.
76:13>> I hear you. The only other name I would put up for consideration would be if I can find this guy. Like
76:22the the draft room is so it's very difficult to actually just search a player in the in this uh draft room with how my computer is
76:30handling it while streaming at the same time.
76:32>> I know, it's weird. FFPC FFPC always gets me on that one. Um it's the other format I'm fine. And uh
76:39shout out, my my Exodia kicker is still on the board here. Scott Barrett always every year Venmo's me an exceptional amount of money for the Exodia kicker
76:47and I release it to him begrudgingly.
76:50He's still on the board here.
76:51Um any interesting Chris Bell injured guy? I do think that Chris Bell in dynasty is a fun one to stash. I
76:59think some of the Caleb Douglas, we've seen him steam up a little bit in ADP recently, especially in NFFC uh where there's three wide
77:07receiver starts. I think Caleb Douglas, you'll start to see him. We are OTC here. Ryan, I think we just do it.
77:14We You know, the idea of of handcuffing it's sort of when you're when you like your team is the time you handcuff and
77:23I don't love Justice Hill, but I think if it was a two-week absence for Derrick Henry, something like a little knock and
77:29they gave him two weeks off, I think it would be Justice Hill. I like Adam Randall, um but I think it's Justice
77:35Hill. You good with Hill here?
77:37>> I'm good with it, yeah. I I think he's fine. Yeah.
77:41>> [laughter] >> I'm not I'm never that excited about Justice Hill, but he fits the team. I'm not going to make too much of a stink
77:46about it. Um so we I assume we're going to be taking your Yeah, we haven't drafted a kicker yet. So we have two
77:52picks left. Uh I assume your Exodia kicker >> Yeah, he if if if he's gone if he's gone, he's gone.
78:01Um we have two picks left. I think there's uh some really fun players in in the queue still.
78:06Uh the player number five has the Excuse me, player number three now has the free look. Uh player number two sort of been my bet. He's kind of
78:15unnecessary at this point.
78:17And uh let me go into the queue and we'll consider a couple of kickers.
78:21I like the thicker kicker, too.
78:24Um and you get the free look with with Harrison Mevis, the thicker kicker.
78:27There's no better nickname than the thicker kicker. How many C's should we use? Cuz you're Ryan, you're you're way younger than I am. When you're when
78:37you're spelling out like thicker kicker, is it like one of these like four C's for thicker? Are you spelling it thicker?
78:43>> least Yeah, at least four if not like five or six C's. You can you can never really go wrong on the number of C's. If you feel
78:51like adding another one, you you just do it as far as I'm concerned. There's no certainly no upper limit on the number
78:57of C's in >> [laughter] >> when you're talking about the thicker kicker.
79:02I disagree though. I think my favorite nickname that I've heard and I I know this is a guy that everyone's like tired
79:08of hearing about and talking about.
79:11It's is the the Kohler bear, Charlie Kohler.
79:14The Kohler bear is an amazing nickname.
79:16I'm sorry. That might that might be my favorite from this off season.
79:19>> We we need the season to start guys.
79:21We're too much Charlie Kolar talk. Um really and and and I'll say this and I think Adam's correct on this where
79:29the like Justice Hill sort of held back Keaton Mitchell at times and it felt like Justice Hill guy.
79:37But Hill's been there a long time.
79:38Here's how we'll add it. I think it's a the caveat is if let's dare I say it, Derrick Henry goes down for the season, then I think they
79:47maybe try to ramp up and go with the rookie. But if it's two weeks, Justice Hill, Lamar Jackson, the familiarity, that's where it is. And and hey, we're
79:57we're probably we're dead with this team potentially unless Jonathan Brooks goes full on 17 points a game or something.
80:03We're probably dead if Derrick Henry misses most of the season. But I'll say two weeks absence, we're we're back OTC Ryan. Do you want to go with
80:11um you know, I like your idea of player number one, but again, I I think it's player number three for me or we take
80:20one of our kicker preferences. We can wait on three till round 20 and go with one of these high upside kickers or do
80:26you want to go with three and three >> take what Let's take your favorite kicker and then we can just debate everybody else in the
80:32queue for the final pick.
80:34>> Okay, so my favorite kicker is Jake Bates, but you also have um Mevis gives you the free look. I Let's go Jake
80:41Bates. It's season-long viability. I don't want to have to stream kickers here. And we get access to to the Lions offense. Uh you know, we always say
80:48draft your Lions even in round 19 with with Jake Bates, but the thicker kicker would have been would have been good,
80:54too. And then we have one pick left here. This has been really fun today, uh Ryan. I'm sure this won't be the last
81:01time I'm dragging you on the show. Um let's go through our team just for everyone.
81:05It's Jaxon Smith-Njigba in the first round, Derrick Henry in round two, Chris Olave in round three, Garrett Wilson in round four, Harold Landry Jr. in round
81:14five, Jonathan Brooks falls all the way to 607, arguably the greatest value we're going to see on Jonathan Brooks for the rest
81:21of the summer, Lamar Jackson in the seventh round, really strong value for us.
81:26We had planned on going late at quarterback, but hey, here we are. Uh and then we have JK Dobbins in round
81:31eight, Jaden Reed in round nine, Mark Andrews we took in round 10. Ryan, that's one where I think if we could
81:38have gone like the two-for-twos here, we would like our team more if we would have taken Keaton Mitchell or Marshawn Lloyd or De'Shawn Stripling. That's like
81:45the one pick I wish we could have gotten back. Um we leaned into the correlation, the stack with Andrews and hey, maybe it
81:51pays off for us, but I think season-long viability, Marshawn, Stripling, even even like Rodriguez would have been fun. Keaton Mitchell would have been
81:59great there. But then we get uh Matthew Golden, Tank Bigsby.
82:04We go two tight ends in round 13 and 15 with Dalton Schultz and Gunner Helm, the Rams defense in round 14.
82:12Uh then we go back going back to 16th round, we go Braelon Allen.
82:16Then we get Jordan Love, so we have Jordan Love with Matthew Golden and Jaden Reed, really strong quarterback two value in round 17, Justice Hill for
82:25the handcuff, Jake Bates in round 19 and now we're coming up on the 20th round. If you're watching this on YouTube, make sure you
82:32hit that subscribe button. Make sure you hit the like button if you're enjoying this YouTube content. Make sure you check out what everything Ryan's doing
82:38as well. And if you want to support my work over at Rotowire, go subscribe and use the code Theo20. I'm going to do a
82:45big rankings update this weekend. If you're playing FFPC, I'm going to have to update the the targets article because a couple of these guys are
82:53moving up in ADP and a couple are moving down Ryan. So, that's going to be sort of a fluid article. Ryan, you just
82:58dropped a free article.
83:01>> Sorry, what did you say? You just cut out for a second there.
83:03>> You just dropped a free article, I believe, that people have access to.
83:06>> Yes, yeah. Been dropping a few like quicker free articles on fantasypoints.com.
83:12Just dropped one about just the most predictive running back stats. So, if you see people citing running back stats on the internet or if you just want to
83:22argue with people and tell them this is predictive and this isn't. That's a great article. That's a great reference.
83:27It's just called what stats actually matter for running backs in fantasy football. There will be There's a quarterback version out already. There will be wide receiver and
83:36tight end versions as well. But yeah, I mean the kind of the big jewels over at Fantasy Points are Anatomy of a League
83:43Winner, my massive article. It's literally over 20,000 words just breaking down kind of how to beat your all of your home league structurally.
83:54And then of course my draft guide, both a little bit more geared toward people playing in home leagues versus on something like FFPC here. But yeah,
84:03anyone that wants to check out my work, you can do that at fantasypoints.com as always. We got Yeah, we got to make a
84:11decision here, Theo. I like as nice as the free look sounds in theory, I'm not like what what are the chances that we're actually taking
84:22advantage of that and that that's giving us like an edge? Like what that Jake Tonjes is going to give us >> have to score if he'd have to score
84:30Yeah, 13 points in in week one. We can take your preferred guy here. I like Ali Gordon as my 20th round pick. He's sort
84:36of my bet as the as the running back two in Miami. I know you like Michael Mayer.
84:41Do you want to draft Michael Mayer and sort of see which way this goes? I feel like just with Tonjes, we could probably
84:46pick up Michael Mayer on the waiver wire if he doesn't score in that opening game. We'll just cut him and then we can
84:52go pick up Mayer.
84:55>> You're probably right, honest honestly.
84:58Um yeah, let's just Yeah.
85:00>> Yeah, I mean, Ryan, it makes that opening opening game a lot more fun to watch for you just to have a little bit
85:05of a free look where uh free look counter. Are you guys saying that I say the word free look way too often in these streams?
85:13>> that's what we're hearing. We found it another Theoism that >> [laughter] >> that he can't stop saying. Yeah.
85:19>> Oh my gosh, I'm I'm getting I'm getting killed here. I'm getting killed. Really appreciate the chat. Uh really makes these these drafts a lot more fun,
85:27especially when you have like this group of of really knowledgeable people. I'm always sort of blown away, Ryan. Really, when the two of us podcast together, it
85:36sort of draws these people that are really high-level fantasy players and they're looking to find an edge, but there's some just tons of knowledge. I'm
85:43always blown away by how knowledgeable uh my listeners are and I know yours are as well. Uh so, this was really really
85:49fun.
85:50>> Another uh vibes, yeah.
85:52>> I mean, listen, if you're not talking about vibes in August, you Rubio, do you want me to to to talk about players with
85:57bad vibes? I like talking about good vibes and we like bringing that out there to the people. We want to win
86:03leagues together here. Ryan, what's your favorite pick that we made in this draft and and what's your least favorite pick?
86:10>> Uh favorite pick, let's see.
86:14I Okay.
86:16Ooh, this is tough.
86:18I really like that kind of an an odd choice maybe. I really like the Garrett Wilson pick. I felt like we got him in a
86:25really nice spot. Uh Lamar Jackson would be up there for me, too. I think that's kind of what really makes this team
86:33stand out is I feel like we got an awesome price on him. We have like a really nice bet on the Ravens going
86:38here. So, those would be up there for me. Uh in terms of least favorite pick, uh I I do think that somewhere in like
86:47round nine or round 10 we did miss out on just adding a running back. Like we really missed the boat there. I think
86:55for this build I would have just loved to get even if it were over Jaden Reed to add a Keaton Mitchell or a Bill
87:01Croscry Merritt uh or a Chris Rodriguez or Marshawn Lloyd. Like that that's like such a fun kind of tier of backs in this
87:08format and we just completely missed out, unfortunately. Uh but it's okay because we we got the best price you're going to get on Jonathan Brooks in a
87:17high-stakes draft in uh like any at any time over the next month. We the yeah, the price is only going up. We we got a price I'm
87:27comfortable with on him. We squared the circle of what I was complaining about on Twitter. Uh so, yeah, overall really happy with this draft. Uh this this is
87:36going to be a fun one.
87:37>> Yeah, I think my favorite pick is probably the Jonathan Brooks and it sort of saved us getting him there. If the
87:43drafter who took Mike Evans or the drafter that took Tucker Kraft would have pulled up Brooks and pulled up price, then we would have had to maybe
87:51push Stevenson up around. So, I think Brooks is the value for me. We got him at running back 28. I'll predict by the
87:58time we get to Vegas he's like running back 21. I think he could pass by a bunch of these guys. Uh so, that was
88:04probably my favorite pick. Really like our wide receiver start. I mean, we talk about JSN, Olave, Garrett Wilson.
88:11There's somewhere in the multiverse that we're looking at 300 plus catches from those guys. Um and I like I really like
88:18what we were able to do with Harold Fannin Jr. who I know you talked about LaPorta, but Fannin also could catch a
88:24ton of passes.
88:26My least favorite pick is easily the Mark Andrews one. Leaned way hard too hard into the correlation and stack.
88:32Where if I could trade Mark Andrews for Keaton Mitchell, for MarShawn Lloyd, for De'Shawn Shribling, uh I think our team would have looked a lot better. And then
88:41the fact that we got Dalton Schultz and Gunnar Helm a couple of rounds later, it was like such an unnecessary pick, but
88:48hey, maybe Mark Andrews sort of beats expectations. I'll give a shout-out to team number eight. I'll give a shout-out to team number 10.
88:56Uh I think they both did a nice job. I think team number 12 is a really dangerous build. They had Devon Achane
89:02who they they took maybe a little higher than you'd be comfortable with, Ryan, but Lamb, Mims McConkey, Flowers, then they get Kyle Pitts in the sixth round.
89:10They've got a little bit of of upside with that build. And then team number one I've got to point out, Jahmyr Gibbs,
89:15Colston Loveland, Malik Nabers. I mean, if Malik Nabers is Malik Nabers, then you might have just won your draft with those three picks. If Loveland has the
89:23sort of upside season that I know Ryan, the two of us are on him. And what's up with Scott Barrett not being fully in on
89:29Colston Loveland? I talked about this with Jacob Gibbs. Like, what's going on?
89:31We need like an intervention. The three of us just showing up at Scott's place and being like, "Are you want to watch
89:36some Colston Loveland highlights?" But this was this was really fun. Um yeah, this is a and just for the record, there's a lot
89:44of talk in the in the chat about my team fandom here.
89:47I am into Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall, and I'm supportive of the Jets in a sense because I live on Long Island,
89:55and like my son likes the Jets. And then I have in in the background photo, I have Sean Taylor. So Theo is a a
90:03Redskins/Commanders fan. Growing up, I grew up in DC, so it's sort of a fandom.
90:08My team is my fantasy team. I have moved so far off of being a die hard. It's sad, Ryan, but I think once you Yeah.
90:17Yeah.
90:18Once you cross that bridge, man, yeah.
90:20>> I I'm a Patriots fan, always have been, but yeah, it's like it it's very hard to get as like emotionally invested in an
90:27NFL team when you do what we do for work and you have to be so plugged in to everything around the league. It's just
90:34like a different like switch in your brain that's like very hard to kind of flick back to and think about football
90:40from the perspective of a fan. Um but yeah, some people are better at that than than I am or than it sounds like
90:46you are, but it is a little bit of a of a sad thing. I agree.
90:49>> Yeah, it's it's a little sad. Um I think it's the moment that you sort of wa- watch Red Zone over watching your
90:56own team and you and you're immediately like, "I don't want to watch that. I want to watch Red Zone so I can see all
91:00my guys." Um that's sort of the the day and then it's all you know, like you you talk about it. It's like I if I'm
91:06watching a team and a guy that I have on a high stakes fantasy team scores 30 points against them, I'm way more
91:12excited about that even if it's it's completely messed us up, but hey guys, let us know in the comments, are we
91:17jaded? Are we jaded NFL fans here? Um Red Zone is is the way to go. Um but I'm I'm you know, again, the if the people
91:25want to put the Jets on me here, I love Long Island, love all my peeps from Long Island. I might you know, obviously
91:31raising kids on Long Island, so the the number of Jets fans around me, uh we we kind of support that, but again, I'd
91:37much rather see my guys score, but hey, I got a lot of Breece Hall and I got a lot of Garrett Wilson this year, so I
91:42guess JETS. Ryan, let everybody know once again what you got going on before we get out of here.
91:48>> Yeah, you can find me on Twitter @RyanJ_Heath.
91:53Uh you can find all of my draft content, all my written work over at fantasypoints.com. I am on the Fantasy Points YouTube channel with uh now
92:02Graham Barfield uh every Monday at 10:00 a.m. Come check us out. That's a really fun show and of course Theo is very
92:10missed over there. But yeah, we've got a lot going on over at fantasy points.
92:15Highly recommend if you guys are new to hearing me or like anything I have to say or the way I think about anything.
92:20Come come check us out.
92:22Yeah, and thanks so much for having me Theo. This was a ton of fun. I was getting an itch to get into the FFPC
92:30streets this year. It's good good practice for the main event team that I'm going to be drafting with Scott and Jacob Sanderson in a few days here. So
92:39yeah, thanks so much and yeah, this was a blast.
92:42>> Yeah, and and make sure if you're enjoying these live drafts either on the podcast or on the YouTube feed. Got a
92:47bunch more coming up. Got Mike Shope, Dan Williamson who's one of the best high stakes managers around. Also does some great content as well.
92:56He and I are going to split a NF FC prime time sort of their version of the main event. That's over the next couple
93:03days. John Daigle at this time next week from establish the run. He's going to join me for one of these FFPC 350s.
93:10And then Scott Barrett, we're going to draft an FFPC main event. And then if you're watching this live on Friday Mike Shope and I we're running it back
93:19at 7:00. So in a couple hours I'm drafting again Ryan. There's no theoretical content here. We're looking to make money and we're looking to help
