A.J. Brown

NegativeValue14:14

Matt Harmon views AJ Brown as ranked higher than his preference. He believes Brown is more of a third-round pick than a second-round pick, suggesting the market is overvaluing him at his current draft position.

Insight page

Baker Mayfield

PositiveValue44:43

Harmon identifies Baker Mayfield as an undervalued quarterback in best ball and redraft formats; he regrets not taking Mayfield in round 11 instead of Rasheed Shaheed, and emphasizes that Mayfield (along with Jordan Love) is a quarterback no one wants to take despite strong value, with added contract-year motivation.

Insight page

Brian Thomas Jr.

PositiveProjection25:00

Matt Harmon expects Brian Thomas Jr. to improve significantly this season due to better health compared to last year. Despite Parker Washington receiving more hype in the draft market, Harmon ranks them relatively close together. In best ball format, Harmon prefers BTJ for higher ceiling exposure and bigger weeks; in redraft he'd lean slightly toward Marvin Harrison Jr. Harmon is comfortable with BTJ in the fifth-round range where the wide receiver run occurred. BTJ is drafted as the second receiver but Harmon expresses reservation about that placement, preferring him as a third receiver instead due to role uncertainty in the Jaguars' receiver room. Better suited for best ball format due to volatility; in reddraft Harmon would not want BTJ as his WR2.

Insight page

Cam Akers

NegativeValue24:00

Matt Harmon does not like Cam Akers in the fourth round when evaluating fourth-round running back options.

Insight page

Chase Brown

PositiveRole13:27

Matt Harmon highlights Chase Brown's second-round selection as interesting due to the Bengals' commitment to an under-center offensive system. Brown is already a capable pass-catcher, and the shift toward blending run and pass game could unlock additional upside. Harmon suggests the market hasn't yet seen the best of Brown given the system fit.

Insight page

Chris Olave

PositiveValue15:22

Matt Harmon ranks Chris Olave as the first of three elite wide receivers (ahead of Drake London and AJ Brown) due to attachment to a good offense, good coach, and good quarterback. Ranked 23rd overall, just behind Drake London and George Pickens, with no significant talent gap versus Drake London despite stylistic differences.

Insight page

Christian McCaffrey

NegativeInjury7:24

Matt Harmon is a non-drafter of Christian McCaffrey, viewing him in the top six as way too rich for his blood. Core concern: there's too much data suggesting CMC could miss significant time this year. While he might consider McCaffrey in best ball if he falls to pick 10, the injury risk makes him a risky first-round pick. If healthy, he projects better than James Cook and Jonathan Taylor and wins your league, but if injured, he becomes the most annoying pick in the first round.

Insight page

Christian Watson

NegativeInjury41:03

Matt Harmon expresses concern about Christian Watson's extensive injury history as the primary worry about Jordan Love's fantasy viability and ceiling; if Watson goes down, Harmon is most nervous about Green Bay's receiver depth and Love's upside.

Insight page

D'Andre Swift

PositiveValue24:10

Matt Harmon endorses DeAndre Swift as a good fourth-round pick when evaluating the fourth-round running back landscape.

Insight page

David Montgomery

NegativeValue24:00

Matt Harmon does not like David Montgomery in the fourth round when evaluating fourth-round running back options.

Insight page

De'Von Achane

NegativeProjection9:18

Devon Achane is ranked ahead of Kenneth Walker in Matt Harmon's overall rankings, placing him higher in the draft order despite Walker being a late-first-round value target.

Insight page

Drake London

NegativeValue14:00

At 2.6 ADP, Drake London feels pricey given Atlanta's quarterback uncertainty heading into Week 1. As of August 31st, the team had not announced a starting quarterback; while Tua Tagovailoa is expected, his play made it difficult to name him the clear-cut starter, creating ecosystem risk. This uncertainty is concerning enough that Matt Harmon prefers Chris Olave ahead of London.

Insight page

J.K. Dobbins

PositiveProjection41:48

Matt Harmon prefers the JK Dobbins round-nine pick over the drafter's preference, acknowledging that while Dobbins will miss games due to his chronic injury history, when healthy he will be a good fantasy running back. Harmon likes Dobbins even better in managed leagues than redraft formats.

Insight page

James Cook

NegativeValue6:05

James Cook was picked at 1.6 ahead of Jonathan Taylor, which Matt Harmon notes as "an interesting pick." While Cook is "great," Harmon believes Jonathan Taylor has "significantly higher upside" because much of Cook's recent production has been touchdown-dependent, whereas Taylor was on pace for 2,000+ scrimmage yards when the Colts had better quarterback play (Daniel Jones era).

Insight page

Jared Goff

PositiveProjection39:06

Matt Harmon identifies Jared Goff as one of his favorite late-round quarterback options, citing Detroit's strong offensive setup and weak defense; expects Detroit's poor defense to force high-volume passing scripts and create a high-powered offense, positioning Goff for a really nice fantasy season.

Insight page

Javonte Williams

NegativeBust19:06

Matt Harmon calls Javvante Williams the worst pick in the round, citing that he was a very average player despite high volume. Harmon is confident the Cowboys can find another back to cut into his workload, and if that happens, production will drop significantly. He has the biggest bust potential among the three running backs that went in the round.

Insight page

Jayden Daniels

NegativeProjection33:25

Jaden Daniels' health is a key dependency for confidence in the Diggs pick; as long as he stays healthy, the Diggs selection is supported. Matt Harmon expresses confidence in Stefon Diggs' fantasy outlook contingent on Jaden Daniels staying healthy; the quarterback's health is framed as a key prerequisite for Diggs' projected performance.

Insight page

Jayden Reed

PositiveValue33:33

Harmon really likes getting Jaden Reed at pick 82 (seventh round), right where he has him ranked; Reed fits his receiver-shopping strategy in this range to balance earlier running back selections.

Insight page

Jeremiyah Love

PositiveValue22:28

Matt Harmon took Jeremiah Love in the early fourth round (4.3, 39th overall) despite wanting a receiver, calling him too good to pass up. Love has top-10 pedigree and historical data shows first-round running backs deliver at minimum 1,200 scrimmage yards and 8–10 touchdowns; Love at fourth-round price represents exceptional value with multiple 2,000-yard season potential if his high ankle sprain is manageable. Harmon states it's a steal and clears other fourth-round backs easily, adjusting his draft plan specifically to acquire him.

Insight page

Jonathan Taylor

PositiveProjection7:08

Matt Harmon ranks Jonathan Taylor as having significantly higher upside than James Cook. Historical context: when the Colts had better quarterback play (Daniel Jones), Taylor was on pace for 2,000+ scrimmage yards and multiple touchdowns, contrasting with Cook's recent production being heavily touchdown-dependent. This upside differential makes Taylor the more attractive target despite Cook's current draft positioning.

Insight page

Jonathon Brooks

NegativeRole4:47

Matt Harmon groups Jonathan Brooks in a tier of running backs with Rondre Stevenson and Trayvon Henderson, placing him in the "high-end running back three range" due to injury risk concerns. Later, Harmon expresses uncertainty about pricing Brooks due to his injury history and lack of NFL tape; he loves the theoretical fit with coach Dave Canales but cannot confidently value him, preferring him in round 7 rather than round 6.

Insight page

Jordan Love

NegativeProjection6:14

Matt Harmon selects Jordan Love in round ten as a bullish pick, citing Love calling plays in the second half of the preseason game and framing it as the 'let love cook season' with a strong passing setup similar to Jared Goff's, given Josh Jacobs' injury and the run game taking a step back. Harmon also expresses surprise that Love is undervalued in drafts despite strong fantasy potential, noting he is one of two quarterbacks (alongside Baker Mayfield) that Harmon believes no one wants to take; however, Harmon's main concern is Christian Watson's extensive injury history limiting Love's ceiling.

Insight page

Josh Jacobs

NegativeInjury0:28

Matt Harmon explicitly recommends avoiding Josh Jacobs in current drafts due to his placement on the commissioner's exempt list. Harmon states he would not draft Jacobs in best ball or redraft leagues because of the risk of a zero-point week and the serious nature of the underlying incident; if a video surfaces, Jacobs likely won't play this season or beyond. Jacobs went at 4.10 in this draft, but that pick is no longer viable given the news that emerged after draft planning.

Insight page

Kenneth Gainwell

NegativeRole38:44

Matt Harmon expresses strong dislike for Kenny Gainwell in round nine, citing Minnesota's strange offensive ecosystem and uncertainty about how Gainwell's role will develop; frames the pick as a risky choice given the team's instability.

Insight page

Kenneth Walker III

PositiveValue9:04

Matt Harmon drafts Kenneth Walker at 2.3 (pick 35 overall) and ranks him as his 12th overall player, projecting him as late first-round value, early second-round value. Walker is ahead of Chase Brown and Devon Achane in Harmon's rankings. The pick is supported by Kansas City bringing in offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, who loves to run the ball and is a great running back's coach, making him very complementary with Walker. Harmon prefers Walker over Amarian Hampton due to his superior floor, though acknowledges Hampton's ceiling upside.

Insight page

Ladd McConkey

NegativeValue16:57

Matt Harmon ranks Lad McConkey behind Zay Flowers this year; there is a tier gap between Zay and Lad from a ranking perspective, with Zay dominating targets more than Lad in their respective offenses.

Insight page

Marvin Harrison Jr.

NegativeValue30:59

Harmon prefers Tyler Warren over Marvin Harrison Jr. this year and ranks Warren 20 spots ahead of Harrison Jr. In redraft format, Harmon would lean slightly toward Harrison Jr. over Brian Thomas Jr., but in best ball he prefers BTJ for ceiling exposure. The Tyler Warren vs. Marvin Harrison Jr. debate was close enough that Harmon took it down to the final seconds, but ultimately chose Warren as the better pick in the sixth round.

Insight page

Michael Pittman

NegativeValue34:56

Michael Pitman Jr. is mentioned as a receiver option Harmon considered in the eighth round before ultimately selecting Stefon Diggs, indicating he was in the conversation for a steady producer role.

Insight page

Mike Evans

NegativeInjury26:00

Matt Harmon expresses significant concern about Mike Evans due to chronic hamstring issues, noting 'there's just so much risk involved because Mike Evans is seemingly like he's down to his last strands of his hamstring.' This injury risk makes Evans a less attractive option compared to Brian Thomas Jr. in the fifth-round receiver evaluation.

Insight page

Nico Collins

PositiveSleeper16:55

Matt Harmon ranks Nico Collins as his 16th overall player and calls getting him in the third round a huge win and a steal. He's increasingly excited about Collins and views him as a dark horse WR1 candidate this year.

Insight page

Parker Washington

PositiveValue27:00

Matt Harmon ranks Parker Washington ahead of reddraft ADP despite 'endless Parker Washington hype.' Harmon expects him to lead the Jaguars in receiving yards, though the gap between receivers will be modest in a 'Packer style' room where 'everybody eats.' Harmon ranks Parker Washington relatively close to Brian Thomas Jr., a take he acknowledges is controversial given the market enthusiasm for Washington. If BTJ didn't exist, Parker Washington might have more upside, but ultimately the three Jaguars receivers (BTJ, Parker Washington, and Jakobi Meyers) are expected to produce relatively close together.

Insight page

Quentin Johnston

NegativeValue33:53

Harmon would not take Quentin Johnston this high in the seventh round, though he acknowledges the receiver-shopping strategy that justifies the pick given weak running back options in this range.

Insight page

RJ Harvey

NegativeValue33:53

Harmon does not like the RJ Harvey bucket of running back options in the seventh round, preferring to shop for receivers instead given the weak running back talent available at this stage.

Insight page

Saquon Barkley

PositiveValue0:02

Matt Harmon selected Saquon Barkley with the 10th overall pick in a late-August best ball draft, feeling "really good about Saquon Barkley as a late first round pick." Harmon notes he's gotten "higher and higher" on Barkley during the draft process, viewing the 10th spot as a strong position to lock in a running back with upside in the first two picks.

Insight page

Stefon Diggs

PositiveValue34:56

Matt Harmon selected Diggs in the eighth round as a steady, reliable producer with a high floor, explicitly contrasting him against higher-ceiling, boom-bust options like Brian Thomas Jr. and Jaden Reed. Harmon projects Diggs' role as more insulated from Washington quarterback chaos than Terry McLaurin's; expects Diggs and McLaurin to finish closer together than originally thought due to the team's offensive line chaos, but Diggs was still really good last year. Confidence in the pick is contingent on Jaden Daniels staying healthy.

Insight page

Terry McLaurin

NegativeRole36:12

Matt Harmon positions McLaurin as more exposed to Washington quarterback chaos than Stefon Diggs, with his role less insulated from QB instability. Harmon expects Diggs and McLaurin to finish closer together than originally projected due to the team's offensive line chaos, suggesting McLaurin's upside is constrained by the organization's instability.

Insight page

Tony Pollard

NegativeValue33:53

Harmon does not like the Tony Pollard bucket of running back options in the seventh round, preferring to shop for receivers instead given the weak running back talent available at this stage.

Insight page

Trey McBride

NegativeValue17:27

Matt Harmon views Trey McBride in the third round as relatively okay; he is a better baseball (DraftKings full-point PPR) pick than a reddraft pick due to the scoring format boost for tight ends. Third round is acceptable for him in reddraft.

Insight page

Tyler Warren

PositiveValue30:05

Harmon has been heavily targeting Tyler Warren in the fifth round across multiple recent drafts and secured him in the sixth round here, viewing it as strong value. Harmon prefers Warren over Marvin Harrison Jr. this year and ranks Warren 20 spots ahead of Harrison Jr. at the time of the draft. Warren is a core piece of Harmon's preferred team-building strategy: two running backs early, a solid receiver, and Tyler Warren in the fifth round. Harmon felt the sixth-round pick was such a value that he was comfortable taking him there despite the earlier Jeremiah Love pick.

Insight page

Wan'Dale Robinson

NegativeValue36:56

Matt Harmon notes Wandale Robinson was drafted earlier than his rankings but considers it a fine pick overall; no strong conviction either way on the selection.

Insight page

Zay Flowers

PositiveBreakout16:30

Matt Harmon ranks Zay Flowers as WR15, 28th overall in reddraft with significant upside; ranked ahead of Lad McConkey this year with a tier gap between them; Flowers dominates targets more than McConkey in their respective offenses. Harmon identifies Flowers as his anchor wide receiver one in his draft build and is increasingly excited about him.

0:02What is going on everybody? Um, obviously this is not my normal setup, so I do apologize. We're doing the uh the car cast today. It's a look of
0:11concern on my guy Matt Harmon's face because this is a little odd. [laughter] All right, quick explainer.
0:21Very last minute this morning, my internet at my house completely got crapped out. So now I'm scrambling.
0:28It's an absolute mad house at my house at the at the James Co. We got kids.
0:35We've got, you know, uh my my wife trying to get work done. I'm trying to get work done and we're scrambling. None
0:41of it's working. So, I have to drive to my brother-in-law's house and because he has cats and I'm allergic to cats, I
0:50can't go inside his crib. So, I'm literally outside of his house casting.
0:55Good times had by all, Matt. But this this is the level of dedication that I I am showing to the people because this is
1:03the links that I will go to to uh to create content.
1:07>> That's right, pal. You know what? You're dedicated. We're dedicated. We're dedicated to the people. We're dedicated uh to our good sponsors at DraftKings.
1:15Check them out.
1:16>> Uh best ball drafts happening right now.
1:19The people uh need their takes. Uh and yeah, that's what we're doing here.
1:23We're doing a live baseball draft stream where we're going to review one of the drafts I just did uh at the very end of
1:30last week. So, just did this thing recently. We're going to pop it up here just like we did for our uh July version
1:37of this one. And James, I think it's I think it's going to be pretty fun here.
1:41Uh because if I have any indication of, you know, our show earlier today, which we did pre we already recorded the
1:47podcast today, you know, you're you're in you're in the car cast. You're feeling a little fast and loose with this whole thing. I think it should be a
1:53pretty good time.
1:55>> All right, let's get after it here.
1:56We're going to examine our our guy Matt Harmon's uh best baseball draft here.
2:00And uh man, we are getting down to it, man. The uh the season starts pretty darn soon here. So, uh I am excited to
2:06see uh where we go. And you drafted from the number 10 position. Okay, I like it.
2:13>> That's right.
2:14>> Where are we going here? You go Squan Barkley with your first pick. How'd you feel about that pick, man?
2:20>> Yeah, listen. Okay, one quick disclaimer I do want to give people off the top here. Um, because it is August 31st. I
2:28did this draft a couple of days ago. So, one thing to note is that obviously this is before we got news of Josh Jacobs
2:36going on the commissioner's exempt list.
2:37So, as you can see here, Jacobs went at the 4.10.
2:41I'm going to go ahead and guess right now that uh we would not see him go at 410 uh in today's universe. I will just
2:49say I don't know how you're feeling about the Josh Jacobs situation. Um, James, I would not touch Jacobs in a draft right now. Um, best ball draft on
3:01DraftKings wouldn't do it. Use code RPM Matt by the way for little promo code.
3:05Uh, it's in the description below. But yeah, listen, wouldn't draft him on wouldn't draft him here, especially because you can't risk that zero uh at
3:13this point. wouldn't take him in a reddraft league either because let me tell you guys I it's I honestly I feel
3:19weird talking about it from like a football perspective, fantasy perspective, but the reality is like there's a allegedly a video with this
3:25incident. If we see you know that video at any point, this guy's not playing football this year like or ever again
3:31most likely. So >> it's it's terrible. Um just just don't don't even look at him when he comes up in your queue or whatever. So actually
3:39my question to you James is because again Marshon Lloyd goes in this draft you know at the in the 12th round here
3:48125 again that's not going to happen in today's universe. Where would you take Marshon Lloyd uh in a draft right now?
3:56>> Well very much Marshawn Lloyd falls into that you know kind of nebulous like zero RB type of or you know again kind of mid
4:05round running back. I think he's going in that probably like sixth or seventh round right now and I think that's a
4:11fair price for him. Um I tell you what, them trading for Caleb Johnson is at least interesting. Although I don't know, I probably don't trust it. So, uh
4:21it's Marshon Lloyd's backfield. I think Caleb Johnson has an opportunity at least to resurrect his career, but I don't anticipate him having a huge
4:31impact there in Green Bay, at least for this year. Um, but the only thing with Marshon Lloyd, man, >> he just can't stay healthy. So, yeah.
4:40Uh, I tell you, in that seventh round, it feels okay drafting him there for value, but >> but again, there's a lot of injury risk
4:47built into >> Yeah, definitely a lot of injury risk.
4:50There's no question about that. Uh, I have him right now in that tier of running backs along with, you know, Jonathan Brooks, along with Raandre
4:59Stevenson, uh, Trayvon Henderson, those guys. So, I think he fits in somewhere in the high-end running back three range. I would probably take a shot
5:09somewhere in maybe the seventh round on uh Marshon Lloyd right now. And that's in best ball in any sort of league
5:16format uh as well. So, yeah, I'm I'm definitely interested to see how this one plays out. It's a tough situation to
5:21talk about, but just wanted to give that context note uh as we head into analyzing this draft here. Okay. Uh James, real quick, the people say your
5:30audio is too low. So you try to turn yourself up while I start talking about the first round.
5:36>> The first round here uh on this one. So yeah, as James mentioned, I pick in the 10 spot. I get Saquon Barkley here. I
5:44feel really good about Saquon Barkley as a late first round pick. Uh somebody that over the course of the process I've
5:50gotten kind of higher and higher on because, you know, you just think about these these running backs here in this range. Um, good spot I think to take
5:58running backs. Maybe even as I did double up on running backs overall. Uh, again in the first round kind of goes
6:05Jir Gibbs, Bejian Robinson, Jamar Chase, Jackson Smith and Jigua over Pukanua which I thought was interesting from the fourth team here. Uh, Pukanakua goes
6:14fifth. Christian McAffrey, James Cook. I thought James Cook over Jonathan Taylor was an interesting pick. Aman Ross Brown love at the eighth spot here. Jonathan
6:23Taylor, Saquon Barkley, Justin Jefferson, CD Lamb to finish off the first round. But yeah, I mean, again, to me, it just I've sat there and looked at
6:31Saquon Barkley at 10 and just feel really good about locking in one running back with those first two picks. Uh, ultimately felt really good about
6:39Barkley at 10. James, where are you at with Saquon Barkley right now?
6:43>> No, I really like Saquon Barkley, too.
6:45Um, again, I think it'll be I think it'll be a better offense this year than it was last year. It's dude just there's
6:52just too much drama last year. I think it's it's dramaless this year. Um obviously they they make a change at offensive coordinator too which can only
7:01help. So no I I like Saquon Barkley there. You know I don't mind James Cook ahead of Jonathan Taylor. Although I
7:08will say there's no question Jonathan Taylor has a significantly higher upside than than James Cook. Uh, and James Cook is great, but
7:19so much of his production over the last couple of years has been predated off of touchdowns. And Jonathan Taylor, remember when they had Daniel Jones?
7:27Jonathan Taylor was on pace to do, you know, 2,000 plus scrimmage yards and score a bunch of touchdowns. I don't know, like I think his I think his
7:35upside is is higher than James Cook. But Saquon Barkley right there, if James Cook and Jonathan Taylor are off the board, I love it. Um, I will also say
7:44this. I've I'm one of these CMC like non-drafters, you know. So, him going uh in the top six to me is is interesting.
7:55That that's way too rich for my blood.
7:57Um, and again, maybe if I'm in best ball and I'm sitting there at the 10 spot and CMC falls to me, I I might I might make
8:04that pick. But yeah, man, there's just there's just too much data uh suggesting that CMC could miss significant time this year. Yeah, I hear you. Uh, makes a
8:14really risky pick there. Uh, at six overall, you know, I feel it's just tough with McCaffrey. I almost kind of don't want to end up in a spot where I I
8:21have to take him because >> I know, >> you know, I he projects better than these guys like James Cook and Jonathan
8:29Taylor. And the reality is like if you >> if you get the right season for him, he wins your league. If you get the wrong
8:34season for him, he basically uh is going to be the most annoying pick in the first round. So, you know, definitely I
8:40understand the difficulty with taking him. I almost just would rather not have a pick in the middle of the first round.
8:44I kind of like the early picks uh to land one of those top two running backs or the picks around the turn here
8:50because I think one thing you can do is take a great running back and then get a great receiver in round two or vice
8:56versa. Or you can do uh as I did here, flip to round two. I ended up actually doubling up on running back here with
9:04Kenneth Walker at the 2.3.
9:07And man, Walker, I felt pretty good about getting him here. I I'm gonna end up having Kenneth Walker as a late first
9:15round value, early second round value.
9:18So, I get him in a good spot here. You know, I have him ranked as the 14th overall player right now. Um, Chase
9:24Brown goes ahead of him. Devon Achan goes ahead of him. My understanding a full-point PPR format like DraftKings is why you might want to do that. Uh, but
9:30ultimately, man, I know we have both been really high on Kenneth Walker as a Kansas City Chief. kind of like a change
9:36force for them on offense.
9:38>> Yeah. Not only that, but I just think, you know, again, you bring back in um an offensive coordinator there in Kansas
9:45City, uh that loves to run the ball and has has done good work running the football. Um I I just think Eric Benemy
9:53has shown himself to be a great running back's coach. Um him going with Kenneth Walker feels very much like very complimentary. So, no, I I love that
10:04pick there. Uh, and you know, even when you go back to that that first round pick, when you're talking about John uh
10:09uh where you get Saquon Barkley, it's those two wide receivers that went after him.
10:15>> It's not like you're feeling that confident about Justin Jefferson either.
10:17You know what I'm saying? So, um I I thought the the Saquon pick makes sense.
10:21And then you double up um taking Kenneth Walker, who I think is going to be a really high volume running back as well.
10:28So, I'm with you, man. I I feel like this year in particular, investing early in running backs to me seems like the
10:36move because you could still find um you know, again, good value at wide receiver, quarterback, and tight end later.
10:44>> God, I mean, you mentioned Justin Jefferson. I put the profile up for Jefferson today. I hope people go and read it on the site, obviously,
10:51receptionperception.com.
10:52Uh should be able to find it pretty easily there. [laughter] Man, it is a I it's one of the best seasons I've ever
11:02charted last season for Justin Jefferson. And we know we know how it went from a production angle. Should go better this year with Kyler Murray. But
11:08yeah, uh right now in this very moment, I have Jefferson as my 14th overall player. I have Walker as my 12th overall
11:16player. You know, my rankings are a little bit more geared to half PPR than full point PPR. So that might, you know,
11:22kind of lean you towards uh maybe the receiver over the running back there.
11:26But I just think structurally when you build these teams wide receiver heavy, uh you know, you're going to kind of run
11:31the risk of falling behind at at at running back and I think that's really tough this year. So yeah, I think
11:38Jefferson even for CD Lamb I mean CD Lamb like you know George Pickicket might outscore him. I think that's live this year to happen overall. So
11:47>> ultimately again uh you know Kenneth Walker was my pick here. It goes Amarian Hampton, AJ Brown, Drake London, Dererick Henry, Ashton Genty, Chris
11:56Olive, Brock Bowers, George Pickkins, Malik will uh Malik Neighbors here. I mean, I think that Hampton versus Kenneth Walker I is an interesting
12:05debate. I feel just a little bit better about Walker. James, how do you feel about Hampton versus Kenneth Walker?
12:12I think if I am chasing upside, I feel like Omari on Hampton is attached to a a much better offense. I
12:21know that sounds crazy because you're like, "Oh, got Patrick Mahomes." But I mean, if we're just using what we saw last year and apply that to this year
12:29because they really made no structural changes uh to the KC offense, I I I I'm very confident actually in saying that the
12:37Chargers offense is better than Kansas City's offense this year. Um, I probably am a little bit worried about how much they're talking about using other
12:46running backs, >> but I think overall it's going to be an outside zone system they used with Mike McDaniel, who we have seen used
12:54primarily outside zone. Uh, with the charting that we that the that that I put together for reception perception last year, Hampton is going to be
13:04balling out um if that's the primary scheme that they use. So, uh, I like Hampton a little bit more than Walker,
13:11but I do recognize that Walker gives you a a really a much better floor, um, you know, than than than Hampton, too.
13:21>> Yeah, I think that's fair. Um, I think that's fair overall. And, yeah, these guys probably are pretty close, uh, at
13:27this point. Do you think the Chase Brown pick at the beginning of the second round was really interesting? just, you know, the Bengals, all the talk out of
13:33camp is are really committed to getting into this under center world where that will definitely help them blend the run and the pass game a little bit. So, I
13:40think Chase Brown, who's already a good um you know, pass catcher, of course, if they can just make that run game really
13:47getting into the just like just if blends a little bit more, there's a world where Chase Brown, we already kind of haven't seen uh the best of him. So,
13:54I thought he was an interesting pick there. Uh obviously AJ Brown a little bit higher than I have him ranked for
14:00sure. where he goes here in the second round. I think he's more of a third round pick than a second round pick, but
14:03I feel like we've talked about that ad nauseium. How com how comfortable would you be clicking Drake London >> at 2.6 at this point given the way that
14:12their quarter I mean it's August 31st James Co and they have not yet announced who their starting quarterback is week one. I mean, we think it is going to be
14:20Tua Tongoa, but uh the rap sheet report that the rap sheet report that, you know, Tua's play just made it really
14:28impossible for them to make him the clear-cut starter.
14:31>> Yeah, exactly.
14:32>> It hasn't been great. So, um just makes me nervous about the Falcons ecosystem overall, >> bro. Is it gonna be this random Jack
14:40Strand dude that's gonna [laughter] end up starting a bunch of games?
14:43>> I mean, he made the roster, >> dude. I know. I have no idea. Honestly, I have I honestly have no idea what the
14:51quarterback situation is going to be um in Atlanta. And and I'll be I'll tell you what, man. Like I wouldn't be
14:57surprised if like Cooper Rush ends up having the most starts uh for Atlanta. I I know that sounds like not exciting at
15:05all, but I don't know. Like I feel like his skill set with Stfansky probably might mesh the best. I Dude, I have no
15:13clue. and and yeah. So, no, because of that, uh Drake London in the midsec feels a little a little pricey. I'm
15:22going to be honest with you, man. Like, for me, Chris Olive, he should be the f of of these three wide receivers, give
15:28me Chris Olive. Like, he's attached to a good um a good offense, a good coach, a good quarterback. Uh he himself is a
15:35damn good player. Give me Chris Olive ahead of Drake London, ahead of AJ Brown.
15:41>> Yeah, I think that's totally fair. Uh, for me at the wide receiver position, I have Chris Olive ranked as my 23rd
15:47overall player, which is just behind Drake London and George Pickkins. And yeah, there's really not that much of a difference. Like, what is the difference
15:54from I think from a talent perspective, what's the difference between Chris Olive and Drake London? They're they're obviously different players how they win
16:00stylistically, but I think Chris Olive is great. Um, there's there's certainly a health risk there. There's a health risk with everybody. We just saw Drake
16:08London miss a ton of time last year. um again ultimately is a interest is a just an interesting overall player this year
16:17from how he's gonna project out but um running backs I think were pretty chalky this uh in this one Malik Neighbors end
16:24of the second round I think is actually a pretty decent gamble at this point.
16:27Okay, let's go to the third round here.
16:30>> My pick uh was Z Flowers coming back around and felt really good about Z Flowers. I teased this this morning in
16:37our podcast and I'm going to have a bold prediction related to Zay Flowers later on uh on the bold prediction show later
16:44this week on reception perception the show but yeah man uh definitely somebody that I think is in a prime position for
16:49a big year but anything else stand out to you here from the third round which went Nico Collins which is a steal
16:55Rasheed Rice Bree Hall Jvonte Williams Kairen Williams Trey McBride Dvonte Smith Jaylen Wadd Lad Mcconi Zay Flowers to me Josh Allen T Higgins
17:04>> how much did it hurt you to see Lad go right before you.
17:08>> Um I have Z Flowers ranked ahead of Lad Maki this year.
17:12>> Oh wow. Okay. Interesting. All right. I like it. Yeah. No, the um >> Z dominates the targets than than I am
17:20that Lad dominates the targets there. So I mean I I do have uh Zay ranked ahead of Lad Maki and I feel I feel good about
17:27that. I think I think there's actually a little bit of a a gap between Zay to Lad from just a tier perspective.
17:34>> Interesting. Okay. I love the uh I love those these third round wide receivers though. Like I'm in love with them all,
17:39you know? Like Devonte Smith, Jaylen Wadd, Lad McConi, T. Higgins, Nico Collins. I don't really like Rasheed Rice. But other than that, I'll tell you
17:48what, man. Like I like all these wide receivers. I'd be ecstatic to land any of those wide receivers there in the
17:53third round.
17:54>> Yeah, the I can't make this point enough. Um, in your like home league, your your traditional reddraft league, it's probably going to be the rounds
18:03four to five, even honestly into the sixth round. In baseball, it's probably going to be just because of the full point PPR on
18:10DraftKings.
18:12Probably boost these guys up around as we're seeing here, it's going to be a little bit more rounds three to maybe
18:18midway through the five. We'll see as the board kind of unrolls here. The the answer to all these guys is just like
18:23yes, keep hammering wide receivers all the way through at this point. Yeah, ultimately, uh, Z Flower is somebody that I think fits really well in that
18:32group. Uh, I have him from a reddraft standpoint ranked as, you know, kind of around wide receiver, 15, 28th overall.
18:40A lot of upside there for him. Um, I thought Trey McBride in the third round is relatively okay. I think he's a
18:47little bit better of a baseball pick than a reddraft pick. Um, third round is probably okay for me. I think getting
18:53Nico Collins in the third round is a huge win for team one here. I have him ranked as my 16th overall player. Uh
19:01just getting more and more excited about him by the day. I think he has a he's like a dark horse wide receiver, one
19:06overall candidate this year. I would also say I think the for me the worst pick in the round might be Javvante
19:14Williams because >> yeah man I think people are way overindexing like how good he was early in the season. He was really I'll say
19:25this like I know he got a ridiculous like a ridiculous amount of work. So, from just a volume standpoint, um, it
19:33makes sense. But for me, I just think he was a very average player. Um, and if they can, like I'm talking on like a
19:41downtodown situation. And if that's the case, I'm relatively confident they can find somebody else to also cut into that workload. If you cut into Javvante's
19:51workload, I'm telling you, the the production is going to go way way. So much of his production last year, Matt, was built off the back that they just
19:59didn't have another running back that they could trust at all. Uh, and if that changes this year, I think we could see
20:06Javante, for me, uh, be the of these three running backs that went, he has the biggest bust potential.
20:12>> It's a nice idea in theory. The problem is, James, they don't have anyone else that they can trust. I think they
20:17want >> I think they wanted it to be Jaden Blue and then they had to freaking cut the guy. um you know for all of the uh
20:25obvious like >> there were a lot of football character red flags as Dane Bugler put it with Jaden Blue and you know I think he was
20:32having a nice off seasonason to start. I kind of liked him as a sleeper in the middle of the offseason. I probably
20:35drafted him honestly in my last best ball draft. I think the in the July one I did um yeah now not currently on an
20:41NFL roster. Tough scene for uh the Jaden Blue Bros there. But yeah, I I disagree with you on this one just because I
20:48think the Cowboys could have the best offense in the NFL this year. And the the reality is like I just want to have
20:54the guy who's attached to that offense, which is going to be Javvante Williams.
20:59You know, Malik Davis, Phil Mafa, these guys on the depth chart, I don't think they're going to eat into his workload
21:04at all because he's so just like trusted and reliable. Um I think you can pretty much project him for a workhorse role in
21:10an offense, like I said, that has the potential to be the best in the NFL. So, I could hear that maybe you just like
21:15these receivers better from an overall standpoint, but yeah, I I I think he's a really safe p pick and in kind of like
21:23wide receiver heavy formats, he's someone that I do kind of think overall uh ready to go there. Okay. Uh yes, for
21:30the people in the comments wondering why James is in his car, uh he had an internet situation in his house and he's so dedicated to you
21:37guys the game best that he is in his freaking car. Not moving, not driving, by the way, because that would be
21:43irresponsible.
21:44>> Just parked.
21:45>> I near the parked. [clears throat] >> I'm parked. And the reason I'm parked is because my brother-in-law I'm at my
21:53brother-in-law's house, but he has cats.
21:55And so I'm using his internet, but I'm outside his house.
21:59Because if I had to be in the house for hours on end because we did the podcast this morning, too. But like if I had to
22:07do that, I I would die. So, uh prefer to live. So, I am in the house or I'm in the car. Uh but yes, uh I am stealing
22:16his internet for sure, which is which is a look for sure.
22:21>> I mean, listen, you're dedicated. You're dedicated to the game. You're not dedicated enough to die for it, which I think makes sense. Okay, round four.
22:28here. Jeremiah Love falls to me in the fourth round and I really did not want I wanted to take a receiver in this round
22:37because again I do think this is just a great round to to just continue to hit the receiver position. Uh DJ Moore and
22:44Garrett Wilson went ahead of me which I was okay with but I was really tempted by Tedo McMillan Ibuka who actually goes
22:51all the way down to the end of this round. Uh, but man, Jeremiah Love early fourth round just too good for me to
22:57pass up here. What do you think about the Jeremiah Love pick at 4.3, James?
23:02>> I mean, there's a lot of data that says if if a running back goes in the I think like as a top 10 pick, um, they they
23:10have pretty much always given you at minimum 1,200 yards and we're talking like eight touchdowns. So, I know he's dealing with a somewhat of a high ankle
23:20sprain. I shouldn't say somewhat, a high ankle sprain. How severe is that high ankle sprain? I'm not sure. Um, but I
23:27tell you what, if he is even remotely okay, um, there's a a a long list of first round running backs that have gone
23:35with a top 10 pick that have given you, I mean, mult, this is the thing, multiple 2,000 scrimmage yard seasons
23:43and at a bare minimum 1,200 yards and I think something like anywhere between like 8 to 10 touchdowns. So to get that
23:52guy in the fourth round, yeah, man, it's a steal. I know there's injury risk, but screw it. All these dudes got injury
24:00risk, man. Like I'm I am down at this price um in the fourth round where you got Jeremiah Love, I think it's an
24:08absolute home run pick. Yeah. So, just kind of had to adjust the plans here because he was by far, you know, the guy
24:13that I just am just ahead of at this point. Like we're talking 39th overall pick. I am ranked 31st overall. Just
24:20felt like the value was too good to pass up. You know, some other more questionable running backs in this pick.
24:25Obviously, we talked about the Josh Jacobs thing off the top. This was before the commissioner's exempt list news. That's obviously not going to be
24:32uh where he goes here. But I don't love Cam Scatter in the fourth round. Don't love David Montgomery in the fourth
24:37round. I'm cool with Achan. And DeAndre Swift, I think, is a good fourth round pick here. So, not at the worst running
24:42back uh round in the world. Uh, but yeah, ultimately it felt really I just feel like Jeremiah Love clears all these
24:48dudes in the fourth round here pretty easily. So, kind of adjusted my plan here. So, I'll I'll show the full board
24:54here real quick. Um, in the fifth round, little bit of a wide receiver run here.
25:00And I kind of got banged coming back around on the fourth round. So, ultimately I take my second wide receiver in the fifth round, which is,
25:07you know, it's Brian Thomas Jr. Don't love that necessarily as my second receiver. would prefer that as my third receiver, but man receiver the receivers
25:15went hot and heavy here which kind of made me a little bit regret that Jeremiah Love pick like would I have
25:20preferred to have Tedo McMillan and you know Bucky Irving maybe or you know some something like that but Luther Burton comes off the board Jameson Williams
25:30Terry Mclloren Lamar Jackson Parker Washington Roman Dunay Christian Watson Mike Evans Brian Thomas Jr. Hockey Irving, Quinn Sean Judkins again showing
25:39the full board like the sixth round here comes back around with like Marvin Harris Jr. Chris Godwin, Michael Wilson, Carnell Tate, receivers just went um so
25:48heavy in this fifth round. So I kind of got a little bit left behind there at the receiver position, but any thoughts
25:55uh on this receiver run in round five?
25:59>> Yeah, that's tough, man. Like you're you're probably looking at Burden, J Mo.
26:03I mean, all these dudes coming off and what what are we left with here? You know, it's I mean, again, I I mean, I
26:10probably want BTJ.
26:12I don't know. Do I want BTJ over Mike Evans, dude? I don't even know. I mean, again, there's just so much risk
26:17involved because Mike Evans is is seemingly like he's down to his last strands of his hamstring, you know? Like that doesn't seem like it's going well.
26:26Uh and then Brian Thomas Jr., what what is he on the pecking order, bro?
26:30Is he the third option? Is he the four?
26:32I I don't know.
26:34>> So, >> I have no idea.
26:37>> Number one, I think he's definitely a better and best ball pick at this point, you know, uh is Brian Thomas Jr. I think
26:43that volatility lends itself better to this format than in a reraft format.
26:47Like, would I want BTJ as my second wide receiver in a reddraft? No way. But I'm really comfortable with him as a wide
26:53receiver three in regard in, you know, regardless. I'm obviously just counting on, you know, some more depth.
26:59um a more depth later on at receiver, which you know, we'll see how that plays out for me later in the draft and and kind
27:05of insulate myself from a little bit of BTJ chaos. But I do think we're like I I still think, you know, despite
27:12like the endless Parker Washington hype, and I like Parker Washington. I think like where I have him ranked is ahead of
27:18reddraft ADP. Obviously, it's kind of more so in line uh with this ADP here from a baseball standpoint. And ultimately, like, yeah,
27:28I think he's he's probably going to lead the team in receiving yards, but I don't think it will be that big of a gap
27:33between everybody else. Like, I still think this is going to be a little bit of a Packer style. Everybody eats wide
27:39receiver room. Um, BTJ I think is going to just be better this year because he's going to be healthier than he was last
27:45season. So, um, I'm I actually am still kind of close in terms of my Parker Washington and my BTJ ranking, which I
27:51feel like is getting a little bit of like that's getting to be a controversial take because of how much hype and pop uh Parker Washington's been
27:59getting.
28:00>> Well, not only that, but um I don't know, Matt, like what are your thoughts on Jacobe Myers? Because um he does
28:06everything >> well that you would want from a receiver in a Liam Cohen offense, >> right? like you just put his um you know
28:14if you look at his if you look at the reception perception profile that Matt wrote on Jacobe Meyers and you look at
28:20the I mean above 83% um success rate on the dig curl slant there's a I I think there's a like a
28:31very live chance that Jacobe Meyers is the guy who ends up leading the receivers uh in receiving. So, I don't know, man. I'm with you. I I think it's
28:41it's a lot murkier than it was um you know, than what people are kind of sort of drafting around because it feels as
28:48if people are locking in Parker Washington to kind of sort of be the guy.
28:53>> Yeah. So, here's sort of your Jaguars uh players here, three of them in this fifth round. Jacobe goes all the way in
29:00the 11th round. And, you know, I think this is a really big value for Meyers. I mean, he's going to be more of like a
29:09boring. He's going to get you weeks, but yeah, he's not going away, man. He's a good player. Um, just he's a good
29:16player. He does all the little things well, as you mentioned, and he's not old and they just gave him a contract
29:22extension. So, >> I think he's if he didn't exist, like, yeah, then maybe Parker Washington goes to the moon a little bit. But, I
29:30ultimately think like these three guys are going to be kind of close together in production. So, I that's why I'm still willing to bet on BTJ as a again
29:37in a managed league, not a fifth round pick, but in this format, I'm comfortable with him where this wide receiver run happened. Um, and yeah, so
29:44feel pretty good about BTJ there because he's going to give you these bigger weeks. Um, yeah, little big man 03 in
29:49the chat. I want Burden, Parker, or Watson here. Yeah, that would have been nice. All those guys went off the board.
29:55Uh, so couldn't take [laughter] >> I couldn't take them. Uh, but what can you do? Okay, so round six here.
30:05I ended up with Tyler Warren in the sixth round. And dude, I have been clicking so much Tyler Warren in the fifth round of late. It's starting
30:17to get a little bit disturbing. I did two drafts over the weekend where I ended up with Tyler Warren. I took him
30:22in the sixth round and this draft. I thought sixth round was just such a value for him. My favorite teams. Um,
30:30and now obviously again we can kind of see how I played out a little bit. We'll get into sort of the depth of this team
30:35later on, but you know, my favorite teams have been get two running backs early. I prefer a better receiver than Brian Thomas Jr., but I went with
30:43Jeremiah Love and then like make sure to get Tyler Warren in the fifth round or something like that. Again, I get him in
30:48the sixth here. I felt pretty good about where I ended up with Tyler Warren here.
30:54Uh, just overall, these are like how I've this is how I'd really like to build teams this season.
30:59Um any thought to go um Marvin Harrison Jr. there just because and I obviously you know you know you're you're you
31:06don't know how the rest of the draft is going to lay out at this point but >> because BTJ is your wide receiver too I
31:13don't know. I would have got nervous man. I probably would have I I'm probably would have been too nervous and and gone Marvin Harrison Jr. Even though
31:21I you like I like Tyler Warren more than Marvin Harrison Jr. this year. I just man it's just yeah that where where you
31:31got priced into taking Jeremiah Love and your your draft had to draft strategy had to change it it it really had a lot
31:39of trickle down uh on the rest of your draft.
31:42>> It really did. And I felt like ultimately I still really like how this team played out because of some of
31:51the receivers that I get later on. And I'm definitely leaning into some kind of volatility here at the receiver position for sure. And that was kind of the
31:58justification for getting Brian Thomas Jr. in a best ball format. But yeah, I mean like in a redraft standpoint, I'd probably like Marv a little bit better
32:05than than BTJ. Uh just so best baseball wanted to get the the higher ceiling exposure here. I did really think it was
32:11a it was a tough one. I I took this clock down to maybe double zeros here.
32:15Pretty close to it with the Tyler Warren Marv point, but it just ultimately felt that >> Tyler Warren was the better pick. like I
32:22am ranked 20 spots ahead of Marv uh at the time of doing this. So yeah, I I felt that that was just where it came
32:29down to for me here on the Marvin Harrison Jr. Tyler Warren debate, but I did feel pretty uh pretty tough on doing
32:36that. So again, the sixth round goes Jarian Price, Stevenson, I took Tyler Warren, Marvin Harrison Jr., Trayvon Henderson, Chris Godwin, Joe Burrow,
32:44Michael Wilson, Jaylen Warren, Carnell Tate, Jonathan Brooks, Caleb Williams.
32:47Any other picks stand out to you here from this one?
32:51Um, yeah, I have no idea how to price Jonathan Brooks. None. A zero. Yeah, we've never seen him. He's been, again,
33:02crazy injuryprone at an injury-prone position group. I have no idea. I love the coach. I love Dave Canales. I love the the theoretical side of Jonathan
33:13Brooks. I just have no idea how to price him.
33:15>> Yeah. Yeah. Me, too. Um, I would prefer him in the seventh round as opposed to, you know, where he goes here in the
33:21sixth. It's fine enough. Okay, speaking of the seventh round, let's get into it.
33:25Uh, it goes Josh DS, Drake May, Jaden Daniels, Courtland Sutton, DK Metaf, Trevor Lawrence, Tuckercraft, RJ Harvey, Quinton Johnston, Jaden Reed, Tony Pard,
33:34Jaylen Herz. Uh, really like getting Jaden Reed here as the 82nd player off the board right where I have him ranked.
33:42And yeah, this is like kind of the this is the area to me where I want to start making a couple of receiver picks to
33:47make up for falling behind a little bit earlier. And I do like this range of wide outs overall. Everybody in this
33:53round is okay. I I probably wouldn't take Quinton Johnson this high. I probably wouldn't take Courtland Sutton this high, but I can see the
33:58justification for it because at this point it's like hypothetically if I am shopping for my second running or my third running back in this range, I do
34:07not like the RJ Harvey Tony Pard bucket of players. So, I'm actually kind of happy with the way this plays out to be
34:13shopping for receivers at this point.
34:17>> Yeah. No, it's a um like I said, I I I love this pick here. Um I definitely am not You're Well, first of all, your
34:24roster construction, you're definitely not interested in Tony Pard. Uh um and and yeah, maybe I have a consideration for a quarterback here, but I don't
34:34know. I tell you what, if Trevor Lawrence falls to me here, maybe I'm thinking it. But with your current roster construct, I don't think you can.
34:40You know, you got to get wide receiver here at this point. You just got to do it.
34:44>> Yep. And it's just such a good year for late quarterback. We'll come to that when we start getting into some of my
34:50quarterback picks, >> especially in baseball. I think you can put together like a really nice group of quarterbacks where you're just looking
34:56for big weeks overall. So, getting into the eighth round here, Kyle Pittz, Michael Pitman Jr., Stefon Diggs, Justin Herbert, Sam Leaporta, Blake Cororm,
35:05Dison Stribbling, Dak Prescott, Isaiah Likely, Rico Dao, Wandell Robinson, Matthew Golden. Um, and lot of again, a lot of interesting receiver picks.
35:14Pretty much okay with everybody that goes here. Um, Justin Herbert, I like him based on some of these other quarterbacks that went off the board in
35:23the earlier round that we just looked at. Uh, but what do you think of the Steph Digs pick? It's It's a little
35:27nerve-wracking obviously with the way Washington has been setting up here. I actually was kind of looking at Michael Pitman there, but still I feel like kind
35:34of got a little bit of a high ceiling number two boom bust Brian Thomas Jr. I think Jaden Reed will also be a little
35:40bit volatile week to week. So I kind of wanted to get like a steady Eddie producer with Steph Diggs here. But I
35:46did certainly consider Deson Stribbling uh at this spot and ultimately just went with Diggs. I think I'm I I bet the chat
35:54would agree with me that I'd be surprised like I'm actually shocked that you didn't go to Jean Stribbling uh in especially in a baseball format when
36:03you're talking like you you want to trend younger. What's the upside for an older player playing in what is this like his fifth offense in five six years
36:12or something? And uh and also uh with all the reports out of Washington that it's just the vibes are just so off,
36:20bro. Um, yeah. I I'm I'm not gonna lie to you, man. Like, I am shocked that you disappointed in me.
36:27>> I am. Dean St. I this that's a classic rippling pick right there, man. I'm I'm shocked. Not going to lie.
36:36>> Yeah, I don't agree. I think that Diggs still projects really well. I mean, I think his role is actually a little bit
36:42more insulated from the quarterback chaos uh than Terry McLuren is. like I think Diggs and Terry McLuren will finish closer together than I probably
36:50originally would have thought just because of the offensive line chaos and everything. Um, and Diggs was still really good last year. Uh, so
36:56ultimately, I mean, as long as Jaden Daniel stays healthy, I feel pretty good about this with this one. And again, in
37:01the context of this team, since I kind of had to go a little bit volatile with the two and three receiver spot, I
37:07wanted a little bit more security uh, with this spots. So, I ended up going with Stefon Diggs here. But definitely, let me again, let me let me be clear. I
37:17considered stribbling. I certainly considered stribbling here uh at this spot. But getting into the N also, by the way, just Wondelle Robinson, Matthew
37:25Golden, um >> those are like earlier than my rankings, but I do think they're fine picks overall, especially Matthew Golden, like
37:32take the shot here at 96 overall. uh especially in baseball where I think it's gonna be tough to guess his weeks.
37:39I'm assuming in a in a reddraft format, but in a baseball format, I'd uh I'd like that one a little bit better there.
37:45Okay, round nine. Kenny Gainwell, your Boomer fantasy analyst's favorite pick.
37:51So, I'm curious what James has to say.
37:53Matthew Stafford, Jordan Addison, Patrick Mahomes, Jordan Mason, Harold Fannon, Jared Goff, Bo Nicks, Brock Perie, Casey Conpsion, Alec Pierce, JK
38:04Dobbins. Uh, a lot of quarterbacks here in this round. I'm still kicking the quarterback can down the road. Uh, I get
38:10Casey Conpsion to be my fifth receiver.
38:13So, now my receivers are, you know, kind of an anchor player early on. Uh, get get lock that in there. Just to revisit
38:22the team here. Z Flowers is my kind of anchor. Wide receiver one. Brian Thomas, Jaden Reed, Steph Diggs, Casey Conpsion is my fifth receiver. I do kind of like
38:32how this is coming together for me here in the receiver room.
38:37>> No. And you know what? This is why I was saying when you look at these running backs here, when if you go running back
38:44heavy early and with a strong running back build, I hate all of these running backs, man. I'm not going to lie to you,
38:50bro.
38:50>> This is tough.
38:51>> Like, this is tough. Like, I want no piece of gain. Well, I don't know how that's going to is going to end up
38:57looking. Minnesota's offensive >> ecosystem is very strange. Um, I don't like it. And JK Dobbins is always hurt.
39:06Phil, no, I hate all the running backs here. Um, I I am probably I think I like your pick the best to be honest with
39:13you. Uh, Casey, I think has has really interesting upside, too. So, no, I think that's really good. I I will say I to me
39:22if we're taking a look at like mid or like later round running backs, Jared Goff is one of my favorites, the Detroit
39:30off Detroit offense is set up to be really good and the Detroit defense is set up to be extraordinarily bad. So I
39:37think Detroit's defense is going to be really really bad, forcing them into a lot of passing game scripts. Uh there's a lot of high-powered offenses there uh
39:45in the NFC North with Chicago and Green Bay. So yeah, I I love just the point that I want to make about Jared Goff is
39:54um I think he is set up to have a really nice fantasy season this year.
39:59>> Yeah, me too. Um just you can just keep going at quarterback like late and late.
40:04It's totally cool. Uh obviously I'm going to go for a stack here as you guys have already seen my quarterback pick uh
40:09as I continue to kick this can down the road. But yeah, I mean I think Goff sets up extremely well. So does Bo Knicks.
40:16all the quarterbacks in this round. I mean, I I'd prefer to just wait a little bit. Uh, which is what I did here. Round
40:2210, I come back and I get Jordan Love.
40:24Um, and by the way, like Jordan Love calling plays in the second half of that preseason game.
40:30>> I know. Interesting.
40:32>> Kind of hashtag bullish to me, James.
40:34Uh, I think that's bullish for Jordan Love.
40:37>> This is g This is the let love cook season here. Um, this is the let love cook season for uh our guy Jordan Love.
40:45No Josh Jacobs obviously for an undetermined amount of time. Run game is probably going to take a step back anyways. Defense gonna take like you
40:51made that case for um Jared Goff. Pretty similar case honestly, you know, for uh for Jared for for Jordan Love in my
41:00opinion.
41:03>> Yeah. No, I I mean, especially with Michael Parsons being down for, you know, a bit of time, too. So, no, I I
41:09hear you. Um the wider receiver grouping has me a little bit nervous because all these guys they've got on like that
41:19that are starters right now are a little injuryproneish. So that makes me a little bit worried like if Christian Watson goes down and you know Jaden Reed
41:28ends up going or you know honestly if it's really Christian Watson if Christian Watson goes down that's probably where I'm the most nervous
41:33about Green Bay and obviously he has a very long and extensive injury history.
41:37So, I don't know that that's probably the only thing that's got me a little bit worried about Jordan Love, but other
41:42than that, I'm with you 100%.
41:45>> We go through here with Mai Lemon in the 10th round, which I think is fine. Uh Romeo Dobs is solid here. Obviously,
41:52Jaylen Coker, the other receiver taken in the 10th round. You got to love that.
41:56Got to love to see a fellow Cokehead in the DraftKings uh draft room here. Three running backs right here. Jaory Crosky,
42:02Merritt, Chuba Hub, Kungai. I probably liked the JK Dobbins pick in round nine a little bit better than you did just
42:08because I mean listen it's uh he's gonna miss he's gonna miss games.
42:14We get it. Uh but when he's out there he will be a good fantasy running back.
42:19Actually probably I think I might like him a little bit better in a managed league than a baseball league, but that's maybe a separate structural
42:24conversation. But anyways, overall kind of think I like these three running back picks maybe even a little bit better uh than the guys who go in round nine
42:32despite JK do. JK Dom is kind of notwithstanding there. Um JCM versus Jordan Mason.
42:39That's been one that I haven't really figured out. Like I keep flip-flopping those guys in my rankings, James, because they're kind of like the last
42:46potential RB ones that go. Um right now I have it Jordan Mason over JCM just because I'm nervous about the Commanders,
42:54>> you know, offensive ecosystem overall.
42:55And I >> sucks.
42:57>> The more and more I look at the Vikings, I'm like, man, they're just going to run the piss out of the football this year.
43:01Like I kind of believe Kevin Oonnell finally is going to be serious about the run game this year.
43:07>> Yeah. Um and Jordan Mason isn't as bad as you would think, but and I was actually really excited about him last
43:14year. It's just that he was so disappointing last year that it's really hard to get over, you know.
43:19>> I know.
43:20>> So, um >> I hear you.
43:22>> Yeah. I don't know. But yeah, I I like the it's about talent or ecosystem when you're talking about that, you know. Is
43:29it JCM? He's a better I think he's a a bigger talent. Uh and then yeah, but I think better ecosystem certainly for
43:39Jordan Mason.
43:41>> All right. Uh reminder as we go through the these double digit rounds, two things for you people. One, check out
43:47DraftKings, of course, our good sponsor here. Description down below. Link uh to our promo code as well. Week one fast approaching. Get your best ball drafts
43:57in. Come on, let's go. Number two, receptionperception.com.
44:01Uh my rankings are fully up todate uh on the site for fantasy this year and also got some new profiles. Dropped two new
44:09profiles today. Justin Jefferson, Kahan Booty went live on the site. Very unfair of me, by the way, to put the Kan Booty
44:15up on the same day as Justin Jefferson profile, but nonetheless, two interesting reads that I think you guys will like. Plus, I know we have some
44:21more uh profiles coming here as we head into week one. I'm going to have over 100 wide receivers on the site before
44:26that ball kicks off for week one. So, it's never been a better time to subscribe to receptionperception.com.
44:33Okay, round 11. Katon Mitchell, Debo Samuel, Rashad White, Khalil Shakir, Jake Ferguson, Jacobe Meyers, Tyler Algier, Malik Willis, Xavier Worthy,
44:43Rasheed Shahed, Tyler Shuck, Baker Mayfield. Really kind of was mixed on taking this Rasheed Shahed pick. I probably should have taken Baker
44:52Mayfield here. I really kind of would have preferred Malik Willis to fall at this pick to just have two better quarterbacks and ultimately I ended up
44:58with Bryce Young as my QB2. Did not like that feeling at all. Uh so yeah, I kind of regret this Shahed pick, but still
45:06was, you know, it's it's the 11th round of best ball. I do think it's a good spot for Shahed, but did kind of regret
45:12not pulling the trigger on Baker Mayfield, who I think is another undervalued quarterback. Plus, I would have pissed off uh whoever took, you
45:18know, a Mecha Ibuka earlier if they I don't I don't know if they ended up stacking Baker Mayfield or not. I don't
45:23think they pulled that one off, but yeah, we definitely thought about that one a little bit.
45:28>> No, I I think you're right. I think your instincts of And again, it you're you're torn here, right? because it's so
45:36interesting how you know one pick can have such a trickle down effect you know but I just go back to the Jeremiah love
45:42>> I know >> you know and it's >> and you love it so much at the time it's just it's tough
45:48>> I think this would I I do like the way this team comes out I just think from a quarterback standpoint
45:54it's probably not good enough in a best ball format and a reddraft format different conversation but in best ball I definitely think I made the mistake to
46:03not pull the trigger for uh Baker Mayfield. Baker like Baker and Jordan Love are the two guys that I just kind
46:09of can't believe that no one wants to take these dudes and >> contract year for Baker too.
46:14>> Oh, Baker's looking skinny, too. I don't know if he's on a GLP1 or what. Not trying to make any accusations here. And
46:20you know what, by the way, if he is, great. Go for it.
46:23>> Yeah, go for it.
46:24>> Let's Let's do that thing, baby. He's looking good. He's looking >> peptides. Got the peptides going.
46:30>> Listen, we're just we're just we're just asking questions. We're just noticing things and I'm noticing >> I'm noticing that Baker Mayfield's
46:37looking good and he's doing his nobody believes in me routine right now, you know. Yep. Yep.
46:42>> That's We're gonna get We're getting good Baker this year. Um pass catchers are awesome. The offensive line might be the best in the league. Uh Bucky Irving
46:50is a guy I've warmed up to. Yeah, I'm I'm in on the Bucks this year. So definitely kind of regretted not taking
46:56uh Baker Mayfield here as opposed to Rasheed Jahed. But man, did love what happened to me in the 12th round where
47:02Mike Washington Jr. was still on the board.
47:04>> Wow.
47:05>> And I'm like, let's go. Let's take Mike Washington here and really start flying.
47:09Big- time running back round overall. Uh Chris Rodriguez, Jordan Tyson, Mike Washington, Travis Kelce, Marshon Lloyd, as I mentioned, this is pre Josh Jacobs
47:19commissioners exempt list, so he probably is going to go higher if this draft was half today. Joan Johnson, Aaron Jones, Woody Mars, Taj Spears,
47:26Jonah Coleman, Mark Andrews, Keenan Allen.
47:30Um, the one thing I would say about Chris Rodriguez, and I've done a full deep dive onto the Jaguars, uh, running back room, and
47:42while I like Chris Rodriguez, I think his role is actually pretty redundant with Laquent Allen. Um, and so I'm
47:52actually higher than consensus on Bashel Tutin, who I think does something that those other two guys can't really do.
48:00So, I don't know. Like, I know why Chris Rodriguez is going higher. He's got a tiein with um I think he's got a tiein
48:09with Liam Cohen, right?
48:10>> Yep. Kentucky.
48:11>> Pretty sure he does. K. Oh, that's what it is. Yeah, Kentucky tie-in. Um, but I think overall I think I I I'm relatively
48:19confident that Bashel Tutin um has all the opportunity in the world to go out there and really make some noise. So I I
48:25am much higher than consensus on Bashel Tutin and I'm a little worried that Rodriguez and um Laquent Allen their roles are a little too redundant. So I
48:36don't know. We'll see. But uh but yeah, man. Hey, listen. If you're getting Mike Washington at this price, that's a home
48:42run. I love that. Yeah, especially with any just injury situation with Genty.
48:46Plus, I think he's going to have a little bit of standalone value as well.
48:49And I don't have to guess those weeks here in a baseball format. I will say just on the Jaguars backfield analysis,
48:55I'm with you that I I'm still higher than most on Tuton, not because I'm like super bullish on him. I just think where
49:01he goes in the draft, he is generally more of a home run pick than some of those other guys there. It's a good
49:06offense.
49:08>> Um he's a talented player. I think Laquent Allen is just he's a better real life player than a fantas. He's he has
49:15like no it's not that he has done no impact on the backfield at all. Um but he's just not going to take like targets
49:22away. He's not gonna he's he's there to pass block that's it. Rodriguez I think will affect Tuton if he takes down if he
49:29takes like base work away. Um that's really where it becomes a problem for Tuton. You know where he goes in drafts.
49:36It's probably okay if he takes some goal line reps away, some passing down work.
49:40Uh, but I think like Tuton's going to get the ball thrown to him on some first and second down plays here. So, he won't
49:47be like a net zero in the passing game, which is where I think most of the kind of concern has been for him from a
49:54fantasy perspective this year.
49:56>> Yeah. So, I don't know. Like I said, I'm really curious to see how it all plays out. But, I don't know. I'm I'm
50:01relatively confident just because of his skill set. He's just so different.
50:07>> Yeah.
50:07>> Than Rodriguez. But if if Dude, I'll tell you what, man. If if Rodriguez ends up taking a lot of goal line looks, then
50:12then we're in trouble.
50:14>> Um, but I don't know, man. Like, I got a sneaking suspicion that Trevor Lawrence might have a lot of rushing touchdowns
50:19here, too. So, uh, what what might the what's the touchdown upside for Toutin?
50:24Probably not that good, but I will I'll almost bank on like big play touchdowns, um, for Tutin just because I think he's
50:31such a great fit. All right, round 13. Jacobe Lane, Daniel Jones, Terrence Ferguson, Chica Conquo, Denzel Boston, Malik Washington, Sam
50:42Darnold, Dantavian Wick, CJ Stout, Bryce Young, Brentton Strange, Jaylen Naylor.
50:46I was so upset when Sam Darnold went off the board. I was thinking, "All right, Sam's going to be my QB2. That's fine."
50:50I took Shaheen a little bit. Got a little stack between the two guys. Felt good about it. He gets taken >> three picks ahead of me. I end up with
50:56Bryce Young as my QB2. Don't love that.
50:58Obviously, I think that's where this team really kind of fell apart uh on that one. But otherwise, yeah, I think this is there's some good picks here. I
51:07like the Terrence Ferguson pick uh as a tight end here. He's really exciting, really interesting player. Uh but ult is what happened.
51:20>> Yeah. I mean, you know, I mean, I think you did the best of a bad situation. Do you know? Um it's I Who else are you
51:29going to take here? You know what I mean? Like I'm I'm You're looking at the board. There's just not that much.
51:34>> No, >> there's [laughter] just not that much there, man. I mean at that point like the next quarterbacks who go off it's
51:39like Cam Ward, Jacobe Brassette, then you get into like the Mendoza Rogers, Gino Smith grouping. So yeah, Young is like the last guy I'm like I know this
51:47dude is going to I mean Cam Ward I guess, but like I know this dude is going to start >> the whole season. Bryce Young is. So it
51:54is what it is.
51:54>> And he's got good [clears throat] pass catchers and he's got a great head coach. So >> yeah, you know, I don't love it. But I
52:00tell you what, I mean again if we're just talking about like ceiling, the guy's got three touchdown ceiling um at any given week. just because of the pass
52:07catchers and and because of Canales and every now and again Bryce Young will catch fire. So, I don't know. Um, look,
52:15obviously it's not ideal, but that's >> it's the weakness of the team is the quarterback room. Uh, but I do feel like
52:20Jordan Love his upside is misunderstood this year. So, that's kind of what I'm really banking I'm I'm banking on being right about that essentially. Um, and
52:29shout out to team eight here for Dantavian Wix in the third round. You love to see it. Okay. Uh, next round
52:36here, Cyrus Allen, Tyron Tracy, Daltton Schultz. Get my boring tight end two pick here. I think Daltton Schultz actually like he's going to have a nice
52:43season this year after the uh, Jaden Higgins injury. Hunter Henry, Trey Tucker, uh, Trey Tucker should be going off the board as the Raiders wide
52:50receiver won, not Jaylen Naylor who went in the previous round. Cam Ward, Jacob Verset, Ryan Florenoi, Caleb Douglas, Tank Bsby, Jaylen McMillan, Malachi
52:59Fields, all really interesting wide receiver picks. Um, I think there's there's definitely some uh there's definitely some appeal to kind of all of
53:07these guys here at this point.
53:09>> Yeah. Um, talk to me about your talk to me about the uh the the tight end pick.
53:15>> Yeah. I mean, look, I have Tyler Warren.
53:17I need a little bit of a tight tight end, too. Board's starting to get thin here. We're in boring veteran tight end
53:22zone. Uh, but Schultz is going to be a full-time player who's stepped up when there's been injuries in the wide receiver room. There's already injuries
53:29in the wide receiver room in Houston. I don't know that Kahan Booty definitely people should go read the Kahan Booty profile. It is him and Kyle
53:36Williams were just sacrificial exceivers last year. Obviously that's not going to happen in Houston because Nico Collins is there, but I'm still not 100% sure
53:46that Kan Booty is going to come in here and be like a big target getter. So there's it's still live I think for null
53:52who spoiler alert ends up on my team and Daltton Schultz to catch a decent bit of passes here in this one.
53:58All right, I like it. All right, round 15. The affforementioned Kahan Booty, Isaiah Pacheco, Pat Bryant, Zack Charbanet, Jawan Jennings, Dylan Samson,
54:09Trey Harris, Adnai Mitchell, TJ Hawinson. I took Kaylin Black, Tank Dell, Arande Gadston, uh Kaylin Black, your boy James Co. Um, another guy that
54:20I think like upside undersold here on him. I think he's going to be the RB2 in this uh in this 49ers backfield.
54:27anything happens to this Christian McCaffrey, I would get myself a nice value here in the 15th round.
54:31>> Yeah, I'm not I'm I'm just not confident, you know, like I don't see that much of a difference between Kayn
54:37Black and Jordan James. Uh I just I actually like Jordan James more than Kayn Black, but maybe they're maybe the front office and the coaching staff are
54:46priced into playing Kayn Black because there's so much noise about Kalin Black being so massively overdrafted.
54:55um maybe they give him the first opportunity. That being said, >> it's never been a coaching staff that has ever done that, you know. So, yeah.
55:03Um I they just go with the best player and and I do wonder if it is Kaylin Black, if it is Jordan James, like who
55:10is it going to be? I I legitimately have absolutely no idea whatsoever.
55:16>> I think because Jordan James has not been healthy, Kaylin Black played ahead of Jordan James in the last preseason game. I feel pretty good about it being
55:23Kayn Black, but you know that's famous last words um in [laughter] terms of I feel pretty good about this, that, and
55:29the other one. Uh out of San Francisco.
55:31Yeah, some rough picks honestly for me in this round. Isaiah Pacheco, what's the point? Joan Jennings, what's the point? TJ Hawinson, what's the point? Um
55:39you know, it's the 15th round, but those were some of the ones I didn't particularly love. Uh >> Tank Dell, I don't I don't get it. Like
55:46what's >> I don't understand the tank.
55:48>> Just not read not reading the news. I I don't even know if Tankdale is gonna like start the season. That one's tough.
55:53Yeah.
55:54>> Um Right. Yeah. Yeah. I I don't know.
55:56Tanktale that I I'm hoping we see him soon. Just it's like the worst injury to come back from for a football player and
56:02it doesn't sound like he's close to coming back. So, >> Right.
56:05>> All right. Speaking of which, round 16, Travis Hunter, Greg Doulich, I took Jaylen Null, EMTT Johnson, Gino Smith, Brilen Allen, Aaron Rogers, AJ Barner,
56:14Gunnar Helm, Calvin Ridley, Omar Cooper Jr., Fernando Mendoza. Um, all right.
56:20So, Jaylen Null, I mean, >> love it.
56:23>> Co, >> love this pick.
56:24>> James, James, James, here's here's here's the thing in writing up the Kan Booty profile.
56:30>> Number one, I think Booty is like kind of, you know, limited player. He's got his got his uses. Sacri, like I said,
56:35sacrificial X, really good at the catch point last year. He he ran Oh god, I I wish I had the stats here just to show
56:43them. I can pull him up real quick, but the Kahan Booty profile is crazy just in terms of how much sacrificial work he
56:50got. Four times in reception perception history has there been a receiver, this is 2014 to current, almost 600 players in the database. Four times, four times
57:00has a player taken 90 plus% of their snaps outside and on the line of scrimmage. Two of them were New England
57:07Patriots last season. Kan Booty and Kyle Williams. the other two, Alec Pierce's rookie year and Preston Williams.
57:14Remember him? No, you don't. His rookie year.
57:16>> Uh, okay.
57:17>> Oh, yeah. No, Preston Williams, the uh the guy in uh was it Dallas or Miami?
57:23>> Miami.
57:24>> I want to say Preston Williams also there was a Preston Williams that also played for Dallas many many moons ago
57:29too, but I don't know whatever. Anyways, but yeah. Uh yeah. No, >> go route percentage 34.4 for Kan Booty.
57:36That is the fourth or third highest in reception perception history.
57:40So [laughter] it is the most sacrificial exceed official baby. I love >> by the way like dude Josh McDaniels brother >> I'm nervous if we're if if they're
57:51putting AJ Brown in the pure sacrificial ex receiver role this year it's over. Uh I I'm I'm a I actually came away a
57:58little bit like this is the Josh uh after that charting.
58:03>> Anyways, so there's that. That's what I'm saying.
58:06>> Here's the other thing in the research on the Kan Booty profile.
58:10>> Okay.
58:10>> Do you know how much Jaylen Null, how how tall he is and how much he weighs?
58:16>> Uh Jaylen Null, I'm going to say five 510 uh buck 90.
58:24>> Uh you are way off on that one. Okay, so according to the Houston Texans roster.
58:31>> Okay, Houston Texans roster. Ever heard of it? Houston, Texas is the team he plays for. Jaylen Null is listed and this is pretty much in
58:40line with what he was at the NFL scouting combine. Jaylen Null is 5'11 and 201.
58:44>> Oh.
58:45>> Would you like would you like to guess how tall and how much do you think Kahan Booty weighs?
58:52>> Wow. I'm gonna say 61 200.
58:59>> 5'11 and 203 pounds.
59:02>> Wow. So listen, if we're going to do the slot only profiling stuff, >> yeah, >> we're talking about the same height and
59:11two inches.
59:13>> Two inches doesn't make all the difference in in this particular situation. Okay.
59:17>> Yeah, I agree with you. I agree.
59:19>> So, give me a break. Two pounds. Excuse me. I said two inches. Oof.
59:23>> Yeah.
59:24>> Tough look.
59:25>> No, no, I like it. No, no. I I'm with that 100%. He's So Jaylen Null's much bigger than people are making him out to
59:31be and Kan Booty not as big as people are making him out to be. I like it. I like it.
59:35>> Let's play Jaylen Nolles the Z receiver and see what happens. Okay, round 17. I took Shador Sanders because I just QB3.
59:41I have Casey on the roster. [laughter] I even got my own little ice in terms of I reached based on my own rankings. What
59:49are you going to do? Uh, dude, >> Kurt Cousins, Isaac Tesla, Jaden Blue, the affforementioned, not on a roster anymore. Alvin Kamara, Jaden, uh, Kate
60:00Uton, Pat Frimouth, Brian Robinson Jr., Kenyon Sad, Ray Davis, Shur Sanders, Trey Tucker, um, Shawn Tucker, excuse me, that's a misprint there. Devon
60:11Vailey. Sean Tucker, by the way, barely stuck around. I can't believe Stop talking telling me Shawn Tucker is going to ruin Bucky Irving's fantasy season
60:17when they barely kept him on the roster.
60:19Uh, anything here of note to you or should we keep moving?
60:22>> No, I'll keep it moving. I mean, I think, you know, maybe I I I take a a stab at like, you know, Kirk Cousins or
60:31something, but Yeah. No, we're good.
60:33>> Yeah. Okay. All right. Round 18. We're in the desperation zone. Tua Zachariah Branch. I took Jerry Judy. [laughter] >> I love it.
60:45>> The the double stack, baby. I got Casey Shador and Jerry Judy. We're rolling, baby. We [laughter] got the triple stack
60:53for the Cleveland Browns.
60:54>> Judy stack, bro.
60:56>> And they're saying this team didn't come together. Okay. All right. Uh Justice Hill, Kamani Vidal, Darren Waller, Jeremy, [laughter] somebody took Rashad Baitman, Chris
61:06Bell, Naji Harris, Colobby Parkinson, Mike Gaseki. Yeah. So, um listen, it's like what do you want me to do, Jerry Judy? At this point, it's pick 207.
61:16Yeah, >> I think by luck of Vidal picked the best to be honest with you because if anything happens to Hampton, I think
61:24Vidal ends up being Look, he guy was productive last year, man. When given a starting opportunity >> and you're talking about a Mike
61:31McDaniels, I think I think I like the Vidal pick this late for sure. It's really good value.
61:37>> I actually really like the Chris Bell pick here in round 18. Perfect round 18 best baseball pick.
61:41>> Yes, I love that pick, too, for sure.
61:44All right, round 19.
61:47Ted Hurst, George Hani, Cooper Cup, David and Jooku, Troy Franklin, what's the point? Evan Ingram, Darnell Mooney, Sam Pier, Ta Taekwon Thornton, Charlie
61:57Kar, Keon Coleman, Xavier Hutchinson, Charlie Kolar. He's going to like fall ass backwards into a couple of nice weeks here at the tight end position
62:05just because he's going to be on the field a ton. Okay.
62:14Um, no. I mean, listen, I I've been telling people that I really like David and Jooku for a lot of the reasons that
62:20you're saying that he's just going to be on the field um more than I think Aronda Gaton, while Gaston I think will have a
62:27passcatcher role.
62:29>> I think that David and Jooku might be the guy that ends up being on the field the most. But I could also make the case
62:36and I think you have as well that Charlie Kolar could be on the field the most where he is always on the field and
62:43David and Jooku and Aronda Gatston are swapping out. So I I don't totally know how that's going to play out but I'm I
62:51I'm open to either of those possibilities and I whether we're talking reddraft or best ball of those guys David and Jooku and Charlie Kolar
63:00are basically free. like you took him in the 19th freaking round. Like, yeah, I like I said, there's a case that either
63:08one of those guys could actually be the most utilized uh tight end for the Chargers.
63:14Aaron uh Dawson in the chat calls me out, says, "Draft good players and good offenses. Our boy loads up on Cleveland
63:21and Houston." [laughter] That's so fair, dude. That is so fair.
63:29It's totally fair about the Cleveland part. I will say I think Houston's offense is going to be better than people think. Um I do think it's going
63:36to flow through Nico Collins, but Jaylen Nola is a guy to me. Uh and Daltton Schultz, listen, I'm not I'm not sitting
63:43here saying Daltton Schultz is going to be awesome, but double digit rounds your tight end pick, tight end two pick, uh
63:48in baseball, who cares? Okay, so but fair enough, Aaron. All right, final round here on this one. Uh Jake Tongis, Malik Davis, Kyle Williams, baby. That's
63:59right. I took Kyle Williams over Jan Datson.
64:02>> The people are saying I'm a fraud.
64:04Michael Mayer fraud.
64:06>> Bryce, [laughter] >> Andre Yoshi, somebody actually took Deshawn Watson, Antonio Williams, Seth McGawan, Christian Kirk. Uh what's the point? Eli Sour. I mean, he might not
64:17even play this year. I don't know. But yeah, so I took >> Is he even on the team? Golly, >> I saw a headline today. They're like
64:23thinking about bringing in Zack Z. So that's where the Eagles tight end position is at this point. That's brutal. Uh yeah, so controversial
64:30selection here at the end by me. Kyle Williams over Jan Datson. But this is after the Kan Booty trade. Like I kind
64:36of think and like Kyle Williams I don't care. Nobody thinks he looks good in practice. He goes out there and catches
64:41a bomb every week in preseason.
64:43>> I know, right? [clears throat] >> Like again obviously I keep the candle lit for Jan Datson, of course. I love
64:50him catching three passes on three targets for 27 yards in the freaking preseason with two. But that's my point here. Like I'm just looking for a heater
64:58here in round uh 20 of the best draft. I I went with Kyle Williams here for the big plays.
65:04>> No, listen. I I think it's the right play. It's just funny. That's all. Yeah, because it is very fraudulent uh on your
65:12part. [laughter] >> I But it it's I like that play, too.
65:16Now, again, if I'm chasing handcuffs, guys. Dude, I am I like Seth McGawan. I don't want to say I love Seth McGawan,
65:25but um I do like him. By the way, there's a profile on Seth McGowan if you want to read it on
65:30receptionperception.com.
65:31Um but this guy runs hard. I mean hard as hell. Uh and again playing behind um Jonathan Taylor who's had a lot of usage
65:41obviously. So, um, yeah, if we're chasing just pure upside handcuffs in round 20, Seth Mc you could do way worse than Seth McGawan.
65:50>> All right, so to full recap the team quarterbacks Jordan Love, Bryce Young, Shador Sanders, running back Saquon Barkley, Kenneth Walker, Jeremiah Love,
65:58Mike Washington, Kaylin Black, wide receiver, Zay Flowers, Brian Thomas Jr., Jaden Reed, Stefon Digs, Casey Conpsion, Rasheed Jahed, Jaylen Null, Jerry Judy,
66:07Kyle Williams, Tyler Warren, Dalton Schultz, Charlie Kler, our tight end. I feel okay, not great about this team. I think the lesson that we learned here,
66:13James, is if you go the boomer route and you stack up three running backs early, I think you're pushing it. I think
66:19you're pushing it because you start to fall behind there at receiver and then you fall behind at the quarterback. Even if waiting on quarterback is good this
66:26year. Honestly, I'd feel better about this team from a reddraft standpoint, not as much from a manage standpoint.
66:33Yeah, from a basketball standpoint, I don't feel as great about it. So, I think we learned a valuable lesson for the people there as they prepare for
66:38their final weeks uh in the best ball streets here.
66:42>> I I think you have a pretty darn solid team. Uh I love obviously you love the running backs. The running backs are
66:49insanely good. Um the quarterback I just you really got to be on your P's and Q's. If you change your draft strategy,
66:59you go crazy running back heavy off the top, man. you just have to be so locked in on that wide receiver and quarterback
67:07position and it's tough draft. I mean like that's the thing with draft like drafting is a skill and like you know
67:13you have to be very mobile and and you know it's like you can't get put on tilt and stuff like that. It's just it's it's
67:21tough. Um I like your team actually a lot other than quarterback. I think quarterback is probably the one area where I'm like, uh,
67:30>> you need a couple of more guys that could get you three touchdown days. You know what I'm saying?
67:35>> The pick that I regret I think the most is not the Jeremiah Love one, not the Tyler Warren one, even though I think
67:41maybe the team could have looked better if I just like punted tight end and kind of had like three dudes who could do
67:45whatever. It was that Rashid Shahid over Baker Mayfield pick. That was the one where it's like ultimately like Shahed's going to give me some weeks. Sure, but
67:52how many times is he really going to outscore Reed, Diggs, Conpsion, and I think Jaylen Null, Jerry Judy, and you know, even Kyle Williams are going to
68:00get me weeks after him. So, that was the pick that uh I don't even have that much conviction on Rasheed Shahid. That was
68:05the one I regretted the most because I think I'd feel a lot better about this team if it was Jordan Love, Baker
68:09Mayfield, as opposed to, you know, Rasheed Shahed kind of mixed in this receiver room. Um, and would have definitely felt better if Sam Darnold
68:16had fallen uh to that pick where I took Bryce Young. Then it would have looked a little bit different there as well. So
68:22is what it is. But yeah, >> then yeah, if you had those two guys, Baker and Sam Darnold, oh, that's a
68:28that's an absolute banger of a of a baseball team.
68:32>> No question about it. And now I'm here rooting for Shador Sanders and the triple stack with Conpsion and Jerry Judy. No one should love to be in that
68:40position. But [laughter] all right, I think that's going to do it for us here. Uh, Passenger Princess podcast from James Co uh on this one.
68:51So [snorts] >> everybody, >> I ap dude guys chat I apologize dude.
