Video: Rich Hribar’s Must Draft Fantasy Football Players | League-Winners and Flag Plants (2026)
he was fourth in receptions, fifth in receiving yards... He had 95 or more yards in four of those games... Drake May 61% completion rate, second in the NFL... Josh McDaniels has been a wide receiver one bully man... 100 catches, 1500 yards, 14 touchdowns... this is a guy I believe is going to be a firm like high upside on a weekly basis... has double-digit touchdown potential.

Elite upside with Drake May; fits McDaniels' scheme; mid-second round value.

AJ Brown projects as a high-upside weekly play with the Patriots after moving from Philadelphia. Under Kevin Patula's offense (weeks 11-17 last year), Brown was fourth in receptions, fifth in receiving yards, had 95+ yards in four of six games, and posted WR5 fantasy points per game. His route composition shifted strategically: 24% hitches (career high), crossing routes dropped from 8.2% to 5.8% (second lowest of career), and play-action targets fell to career-low 24 targets. With Drake May at QB (10th in snaps under center vs. Jaylen Hertz at 29th), Brown will see more accurate downfield targets; May posted 61% completion rate (second in NFL) and led NFL in yards per attempt on 10+ yard throws. Josh McDaniels' scheme has produced elite WR1 seasons historically (Davante Adams: 100 catches, 1500 yards, 14 TDs in 2022). Brown projects to have significantly higher snap rate than Stefan Diggs (63% route participation) and faces less target competition than in Philadelphia (DeVonta Smith and Dallas Goedert vs. Romeo Dubs and Hunter Henry). Patriots ranked fifth in pass rate over expectation vs. Eagles' max 11th in last four seasons. Brown has double-digit touchdown potential, having achieved it twice in his career including his first year with the Eagles. Sharp Football recommends drafting him in the middle of the second round after taking a running back in the first round.
