0:00Oh yes, week three is complete. And this is our game bygame recap show where we talk you through all of it. And
0:08hopefully we learned something. I'm not sure if we did. I mean, there are five 3 and 0 teams, five 0 and3 teams, and a
0:14bunch of nonsense in between. But that's what we're supposed to do here. Figure out the nonsense in your fancy lineups.
0:19Tell how tell you how all the players produced or underperformed in expectation. And Hayden will kick it off with one of those 3 and0 teams. Now, the
0:28Buffalo Bills beating the LA Chargers 24-6.
0:31The Chargers out to a 10- nothing start.
0:34In my opinion, this could have jump started their entire season. And yet, in the end, they lose by eight. How'd it
0:40happen?
0:42Teams entered today with two wins, 119 losses, and a tie when losing the turnover battle by four plus in the regular season according to Sumer Sports
0:50since 2016. And the Chargers, of course, became the third team to lose with that.
0:55And it was embarrassing for the Chargers because a lot of these Bills turnovers were not because like the Chargers were making like like exceptional plays like
1:03James Cook fumbled the ball, Daltton Concincaid fumble yard after the catch moment. There was a really fluky interception down the football field to
1:09Genesis Smith. Josh Allen had a very uncharacteristic interception uh over the middle as well. So the ball was bouncing the correct way for the
1:17Chargers and they still lost this one by eight points. I think in the first half of the game, Josh Allen, it seemed like
1:22a lot of the cover two um in cover six, cover four, uh two deep zone coverages from the Chargers were kind of keeping
1:29Josh Allen quiet, but by the second half of the game, James Cook just chunk run after chunk run. Josh Allen finished off
1:35a couple drives with some tush pushes as he typically does. DJ Moore, a couple chunk plays over the middle, nothing too
1:40explosive down the football field. He nearly scored a touchdown with this one.
1:44And then Ty Johnson, out of structure plays out there. So, it was, I think, a fine game from the Buffalo Bills uh
1:50offense in general, aside from the five turnovers, which like obviously a huge caveat there, but really just an embarrassing loss for the Chargers here.
1:58I thought the offense was still stuck in the mud. I thought Harbaugh made some really bad decisions. We'll get to that
2:03in a little bit. Uh on the Buffalo Bills side though, late in the game, Josh Allen kind of gets hit in his knee in
2:09the post game. He's kind of like leaning over on one side. It was like walking pretty gingerly. Like that's going to be
2:15like the big story line on the Buffalo Bills side. It's like making sure the Josh Allen knee injury isn't a severe
2:20one.
2:21>> Yeah. I mean, [clears throat] hey, Josh Allen turns the ball over multiple times, but then that just shows you how
2:28dominant you can be in fantasy football as a quarterback with your legs, the two rushing touchdowns. You know, I was kind
2:33of watching this one as well, and you you said embarrassing for the Chargers.
2:38I mean, is it not embarrassing that this offense that everybody uh projected to be really good, they have failed to score 20 points in any game this season?
2:47Talk about embarrassing versus the Chargers. I thought the loss versus the Cardinals was embarrassing. Then we kind of thought the loss versus the Raiders,
2:53which we'll talk about in a little bit, maybe a little embarrassing for what we expected this offense to be. I I I know
3:00we focus on the winning team. this Chargers team, y'all. I'm just >> I'm very very concerned. And Hayden, >> I'm gonna get there at some point,
3:10right? But the rushing attack, I'm looking at the running backs, and we've keep we kept dancing around this for the first couple of weeks about Omar
3:17Hampton. I know he scored, but he has not looked great to me. He hasn't looked awful, but he hasn't looked like this
3:23dominant first round running back that I thought would be just this huge fantasy difference maker. I think we're going to at least get close to, if not have
3:32already pressed the panic button on multiple teams and multiple offenses already three weeks in.
3:38>> Yeah, Omar and Hampton, this was a very concerning game. Uh 15 carries for 56 yards. It's not just like the yards per
3:44carry. Like all of his touches are like kind of right up the middle at this point and the interior offensive line's
3:49not going to uh pick those ones up. He only played 42% of the snaps. He played two of 16 snaps on third and fourth
3:56downs. Uh late in the game, Kamani Vidal was out there in catch-up mode. There was also like a flea flicker early on
4:02where they did not trust Omari and Hampton. This on on a first down, I believe, and Kimani Vidal was out there
4:06for that flea flicker. And then just kind of big picture, if you watch all the Katon Mitchell runs, it's all the
4:13runs to the sideline and then all of the runs up the middle are Omar and Hampton.
4:17It is a bad sign that in the third week of the of the season, it seems like McDaniels kind of pivoted off trying to
4:24get to the Omar and Hampton Devon Aan roll to the perimeter where he thinks he's going to be more north south. They
4:30don't have north south blockers up front. And this is another game, no receptions for Omar and Hampton. He has two catches in the first three games and
4:38the Chargers are 0 and3 in them. They have a negative 32 point differential and he's still not getting involved in the pass game. I'm not even blaming
4:45McDaniel on that. This is just looking like a bus in fantasy for Omari Hampton.
4:49I don't I do not know how this one turns around.
4:52>> Yeah, it sounds like a tell to me. Like if me and you can watch the Chargers and we know that Katon Mitchell's runs are
4:58going to be the outside and then Martin Hampton's up the middle, then defenses will key on that as well. As you said,
5:0315 carries, 56 yards for Hampton, just one target. Meanwhile, Katon Mitchell, eight carries, 52 yards, and then he did have one receiving score despite having
5:11negative five receiving yards on the day. Just a quick question on there and then I'll get to the pass catchers.
5:17>> I [clears throat] don't at least from my seat I don't see how Katon Mitchell can be an running back one for an NFL team.
5:23He's just too light to me. Hayden, do you think we're headed in a direction where he is the quote unquote running
5:28back one or is this just a 50-50 split where really both of them aren't going to matter in the long run?
5:34>> I think it's going to be a committee, but I think it's going to be a committee where they're going to use the fullback
5:38in pass protection snaps. They're going to have Kimani Vidal in pass protection snaps. So, like it's like kind of like an early down committee and then that
5:43touchdown for Katon Mitchell. It was two Hampton runs up the middle on third and at the goal line did a Katon Mitchell uh
5:50little sweep where Justin Herbert throws for a touchdown. It's really just a run play. Uh Katon Mitchell did break a couple tackles like on that touchdown
5:57like he had to like evade a defensive tackle. There was one time where he did take on um some decent contact near the
6:02the perimeter. Katon Mitchell does not have the size to be the number one and I don't think Omar Hampton is so bad that
6:08he can't stay involved in this committee. like that is not where we're at here. It's just that what Hampton is good at is not what the Chargers have.
6:16And I think that's going to be pretty frustrating, especially when the pass game is as dysfunctional as it was in this one. Like there's just not going to
6:22be that many red zone opportunities for Omar and Hampton to take the goal line dives in.
6:27>> Uh lots of conversation of Vlad Makoni heading into this one. Five targets, four receptions, 66 yards. Trey Harris 6 for 76 and QJ 3 for 40. Any signs of
6:37life for any of those? Because again going back to last week, Lad was the only consistent part and here again just
6:4366 yards on four receptions.
6:46>> Lad got a big play late in the game like in complete trail mode. Quinton Johnson third and 10 drop. That was a really bad
6:52one and a very high high impact moment.
6:55Uh Aronda Gadson had a big drop. It was kind of like a ball was a little bit high from Justin Herbert. That was a big
7:00play. And then Lad McConi, they had man coverage rep like on the high red zone.
7:05Throws it up there for a could be touchdown. and Lad Makoni and Justin Herbert weren't able to connect on that.
7:09And this is something that just Tom Brady was saying throughout the game is like when Lad Maki is your number one
7:14and he's that small and he's like working down the football field like you have to be so precise for that to work
7:20and like you you felt that from uh this pass game here. Nothing really explosive all the way down the football field. Uh
7:26Justin Herbert had a really really really terrible interception. I do not know how he did not see the safety over the middle of the football field. I'll
7:34also mention there was another end zone interception from Justin Herbert. That one was called back on a holding play that I didn't really think that was
7:41involved in that play. So that would have been a really bad second interception for Justin Herbert. And then on late downs, 54% pressure rate on
7:49late down snaps. Um so too many drops, not enough hero moments from Justin Herbert. Um and then like nothing came really easy here because uh all the runs
7:59to Amari Hampton weren't working. So, a lot of the same old stuff from the Chargers offense here. And my my last
8:05thing on them, Harbaugh makes way too many uh mistakes in just like punting the ball, going for it, all of that type of thing. Like
8:16there was a situation fourth and three at the three yard line and they uh attempt a field goal, they miss it.
8:23There was also a play early in the game, third and five is a run play for three yards to set up a fourth and fourth and
8:29two at the 13 yardd line. after running it on third and uh third and five, they opted for a field goal. Then they have a
8:35fourth and four from the four yard line, they go for a field goal then. So it's like field goal, field goal, field goal,
8:40and like all these like 50/50 uh spots.
8:43And then later in the game now, because they're losing, it's fourth and 10 uh at their own 45 and that's when they decide
8:50to go for a field goal. Like this is just like it's really really or try to go for it on fourth down. It's just like
8:56really terrible management from Harbaugh. Way too conservative. like really reminds me of the Dikica Ryan stuff we'll get to in a little bit. But
9:02like this team cannot be conservative.
9:04Their defense isn't good enough. Their offense isn't good enough. Like this team has to be aggressive in these situations and Harbaugh continuously
9:10just is way too conservative and it really cost the Chargers uh early in this game.
9:15>> Yeah. My my last question for you, Hayden, on the Buffalo side, Dalton Concade's been on a heater to start the
9:20season, and I did see the play where he was fighting for extra yards, fumbled the ball. Was it was this just the
9:26product of the Chargers defended him really well? They said we're going to take away Dalton Concincaid. Is there anything to worry about moving forward
9:33or or do you just kind of he's going to have one of those games? He's not going to smash every week, but I'm not worried
9:38about Concaid.
9:40Mostly the latter there. I mean, obviously the DJ Moore missing last week probably helped on Kim Kaid out and DJ Moore had 10 targets on 26 Josh Allen
9:48drop backs. Like that's a huge number for DJ Moore and I think that the offense is going to funnel between the
9:53two of them. But I will say just I think when we go back and watch this game on all 22, I do think that the Chargers
9:57were doing some some interesting things in zone coverage. There's a lot of moments where Josh was kind of holding on to the ball for uh a tick longer
10:04getting to like this fourth fifth read in in in a play. So um I just think that was like the the Chargers defense
10:11playing a lot better in their like zone communication more than anything else.
10:15>> Just to finish up on the tight end note, Aronda Gadston only played 39 of 69 snaps in this game. far from a full-time
10:21player. Zero receptions, zero receiving yards on top of it. And yeah, to your point, Hayden, uh, for teams that, you know, go for it on fourth down or don't,
10:31the number one thing is you have to be consistent with all of that, right? And it sounds like Harpal is just
10:36inconsistent with his decision-m in those fourth uh, down situations. Okay, let's talk about some fun teams. All right, Detroit at home improves to two-
10:46one as they beat the New York Jets 31-24.
10:50The Jets actually take a lead in the second quarter. Kenyan Sadi first round pick Oregon 24 yd touchdown the seam versus a defensive back lays out for it
11:02just a sweet throw a sweet grab that only had a 16% chance of being completed. They get it done. Lions responded with Amar Ros Brown touchdown
11:10after a nice kickoff return. But the fireworks and I mean real fireworks really started in the second half. Hit a 17-yard Jir Gibbs touchdown. One of
11:18three on the day. You have to go back and watch this score. A crazy deceleration once he gets to the line of
11:24scrimmage. Cut back to the left.
11:26Acceleration to then pull away from the stop start defenders to win towards the front pylon. That's a 17-7 lead. Jets have a chance to respond. They get it
11:35down to the seven, but back-to-back sacks, then forces them into a field goal situation. So, let's keep in mind these four-point plays. We go back and
11:42forth with a couple of touchdowns. Lions get the ball stuffed on fourth and two on their own 46. Speaking of Dan
11:47Campbell being aggressive in those fourth down situations, and then Garrett Wilson comes down with a sick double move touchdown on fourth and six. He was
11:56still interfered with, but still came down with the grab. All square at 24 after our guy Sterling Shepard. Yes, he's on the Jets two-point conversion.
12:04Uh but again, drive and the game comes down to an 11-yd receiving touchdown for Jir Gibbs. And while the Jets on their
12:12final drive of the game get down to the 28 yardd line, Garrett Wilson, who has his first 100yard day, Hayden since
12:202024, exits on the next snap and Gino Smith fumbles on an unblocked pressure for Chuck Clark and the game is over. So
12:28while the Jets are one and two, they showed fight. They were feisty. Gino on the day 31 of 37, 321, three scores, but
12:36the five sacks in the end with a sack fumble close it out for the Lions.
12:42I think for the Lions, it's always just Jir Gibbs and Aman Ross Brown in the end zone. I think just to me, my questions
12:47for the Lions is, is the defense as bad as it was in the previous weeks? And it does seem like the answer to that was
12:53yes. And then the followup to that would be like what does that mean for Sam Leaporta and Jameson Williams? So like
12:57those are like the ancillary pieces that we need to get into fantasy lineup. So, uh, just how bad was it for Detroit
13:02secondary?
13:04>> Well, the secondary was rough. I mean, what they're they're down like four safeties on top of this. So, uh, how
13:10good can you be? Um, you know, they one of their corners, uh, was, you know, DPI and letting downfield shots and all that
13:19type of stuff. But at the same time, Hayden, it's kind of tough to gauge because it's not like the Jets had that
13:23many pass catchers out there. Like we know Sadi is running down the middle and down the seam and then Garrett Wilson is
13:29is on the outside. But other than that, Ray, the huge talking point is Bree Hall leaving this game I think in the third
13:37quarter. Maybe it was actually in the fourth quarter. Uh he got two carries at the four yardd line and in the second
13:43one goes down with what looks like a thigh or quad injury and those can linger and linger and linger for a
13:50while. So, while Bree looked great early on, he looked good in other games this season, uh, we might be seeing a time
13:57and a stint on the sideline for him.
14:00>> Well, Josh, I I believe at the beginning of the season coming in, you put it out there that you thought this Jets team,
14:06at least offensively, would be a lot better than we had remembered or had thought about the Jets being. And I'm looking at them and and the first thing
14:14that's jumping out is how long have we been like wanting Garrett Wilson to be a thing? It seems like it's happening this
14:21year. He's he's not Jamar Chase. He's not JSN. It's not at that level, but this feels like you've got a top
14:30sevenish, top eight wide receiver right here in Garrett Wilson rest of the way.
14:34I'm I'm watching Brilen Allen, and I know they like to use him close to the goal line. If Bree is out, do you do you
14:40think or would expect Brillan Allen to assume the majority of the rushing work, or is it going to be a nasty committee
14:48here in New York? No, I think it'll be Brillin Allen and I can't tell you how successful that'll be. He he definitely
14:53has a different kind of let's say running style than than Brie Saul. Yeah, I mean to your point Ray, the Jets are
15:00better than their 1-2 record. And these, you know, losses the last two weeks, 20 to 17 to the Packers, which in that
15:06game, by the way, Jordan Love only threw for 145 yards. The leading rusher on the opposition was 32 yards. I I would
15:13assume that some Jets fans are frustrated by the coaching and I would say Aaron Glenn had some maybe questionable decision-m at the end
15:22of the first half and then again they only lose in a one possession game here but um they have enough going on offense
15:28to get like their best players the football. Um again it was Wilson and Sadique. Wilson and Sadiq and then even on top of it like Jeremy Ruckett went
15:37five for 39 and he had a red zone touchdown on top of it and even Galani Woods has this awesome grab to himself
15:42along the sidelines. So while their rushing game only went you know 19 carries for 58 yards uh they were still figuring it out in the passing game and
15:50that gives me some hope and a lot more hope than I was expecting with Frank Reich heading into the season. That's
15:54for sure.
15:56Sadique 105 yards and a touchdown with Mason Taylor out. Uh the obviously that night Mitchell injury like that seems like that could linger for for a little
16:05bit now. Like tight ends really deep in fantasy but where would you stack up Kenyan Sadi uh going into next week?
16:12>> Okay. I think he has entered himself into the flex conversation for as long as Mason Taylor is out. Uh there's like
16:2014 15 deep at tight end right now. But among these wide receivers that on a weekly basis are getting like four for
16:2744 or these running backs that run into horrible matchups and they're in split back fields, I really think that we should be looking at these tight ends
16:35that are in favorable situations that are top two or three in terms of target getters on their team. This is where the
16:41NFL is right now. And Kenan Sadique, uh, he just ran some crossing routes over and over and went after the catch on a
16:47few of them, too. Um, I mean, eight targets, seven receptions, 105 yards is definitely the way to go. Uh just quickly on that note, speaking of one of
16:54the wide receivers that constantly gives us a roller coaster, Jameson Williams had two targets on the first drive and two catches. Then I don't think got
17:01another target until the third quarter and he had another two catches on that drive and that was it. So there are
17:10these moments that maybe on the sideline or heading into a game, it's like, okay, we got to get JMO the ball in these
17:15outbreakers or, you know, force some things in his direction. And then yet he goes silent completely in between. So just four catches for 49 yards. Um and
17:24Isaac Tesla somehow someway actually is a 66 yards and tops the receivers. I mean it comes down to that 49 yarder
17:31that he caught uh after and over the middle of the field. So the lines are are are very straightforward and hopefully you had the 101 ray to uh
17:38draft Jir Gibbs because it's another three touchdown day for him.
17:40>> So let let me ask you this Josh. Let me ask you this cuz we talked about this Lions team and this offense being great
17:45and I just want to ask you is the Lions offense actually that good schematically or is Jir Gibbs just that good and
17:53changes the defensive math? Because I'm I mean Amanra's Ammon you're not going to panic. I know he didn't have a lot of
17:58yards. He scored the touchdown but I'm looking at this offense like it it feels like it's it's Gibbs or bust for for a
18:05lot of Detroit. Ray, I I I don't want to, you know, spoil anything ahead, but they do play the Carolina Panthers on
18:13Sunday Night Football, and the Carolina Panthers might be out Mike Jackson and JC Horn on that Sunday Night Football game. So, uh, hey, I think the Lions
18:21might have an explosion uh, next Sunday night.
18:25>> That's three straight games the Lions have finished with exactly 31 points, too, which would lead the league in most seasons.
18:32>> And over the next three games, Panthers defense, Cardinals defense, and Packers defense. So, uh, this might be the sweet spot here for the Detroit Lions. All
18:40right, Ray, we're headed to you.
18:44Speaking of the NFC South, every team is 1 and2 or 0 and2 as the Las Vegas freaking Raiders are 3-0 on the season
18:53as they beat the Saints 35 to 27 with a huge return of Brock Bowers. 10 catches, 116 yards, and a score.
19:02>> Yeah, this is I said it last week. If there was an early favorite for coach of the year, I think it would be Clint Kubak. I I'm
19:08watching this Raiders team and this was not a cakewalk for him. First quarter 3-0. Um Las Vegas outgainain New Orleans 63 to 11 uh as far as yardage output.
19:19Ashton Genty had three carries, six yards. He really struggled in this one, but in the second quarter, secondyear quarterback Tyler Shuck really found his
19:27groove. And you look at what he did in the second quarter, 10 for 16 passing, 91 yards, and two touchdowns. And even
19:33through then, Chris Olive, only three catches, 41 yards up to that point.
19:38Nothing really happened in the third quarter, the game stayed 16 to 13.
19:41Neither offense really separated. And then at the end, it was just absolute chaos. It was fun. Tyler Shuck got up to
19:50four passing touchdowns in this one. We finally saw Chris Olive's usage start to expand. He crossed over a 100red yards in that fourth quarter. Let me give you
19:58some history from this game. Six receiving touchdowns by tight ends in this game. The most in the NFL since 1981
20:08scores. Yeah. Noah Fant Jawan Johnson.
20:11Brock B. This was this was a game of all the tight ends in and the biggest takeaway from this Las Vegas side,
20:18y'all. I I can't we cannot you look at this Raiders team. There's no real wide receiver of consequence but Brock Bowers. I mean, Kurt Cousins had like
20:28laser focus for number 89. He didn't score until the end, but Bowowers going in the half, he had seven for 87 at
20:35halftime for Brock Bowers, and he finished with 116 yards and the touchdown. Ashton Genty really struggled against this New Orleans defense uh to
20:44find rushing opportunity. The most explosive running play came from Mike Washington who had a big run in this game. Ashton Genty, you're not worried
20:52about it because the volume was there, 19 carries, but just couldn't find a lot of success. And on the other side of the
20:58ball, sticking with the running backs, it felt like y'all, this was the game.
21:02They said, "All right, Travis Hn, we're going to feed you. We're going to feature you. We're going to throw you the ball. We're going to we're going to
21:08run you, right? 13 carries, 57 yards."
21:11He looked fine, but then in the third quarter, hamstring injury. And then all of a sudden, you look up and it's Kendra
21:16Miller. It's Alvin Chimera bobbling uh toss plays out of the back field, but you just Tyler Shuck, it wasn't clean.
21:24It wasn't perfect, but Kell Moore is just such a creative play caller. The way they utilized Jawan Johnson, four more passing touchdowns. He was quite
21:33inefficient in this one and the game ended on a Tyler Shuck throw to Jawan Johnson. It fumbled away. We were probably all watching that. But I mean,
21:40as long as they're going to continue to just air this thing out, I mean, Tyler Shuck is locked and loaded as a starter.
21:46Brock Bowers absolutely dominant in this game. This was a really fun game. And again, the Raiders are three and 0 right
21:53now in an offense that like if you've got to scream Kirk Cousins, you can do a hell of a lot worse than that.
21:59>> Wow. Uh you got to give me the goods on Brock Bowers. How did he look? Like how how is he fitting in the Kubak offense?
22:06Yeah. Like is this JSN or is this typical Brock Bowers? Give me >> everything. I'm not No joke. I don't know what was wrong with him. The knee.
22:13What? It didn't look like anything was wrong with Brock Bowers. Short down the field, uh, crossing routes. It was hyperarget Brock Bowers all over the
22:23field. They were putting two on him. He couldn't be stopped. He looked unstoppable. And if you're talking about a guy first game of the season just back
22:31from the knee injury and this is Bowowers, let's just say 90% 85%. Like this is your tight end one, but he's
22:39really like your wide receiver one for Las Vegas, >> right? I know you said we shouldn't be worried about Ashen Genty and he did get
22:47three catches for 37 yards. I am a bit worried about his rushing success on the ground right now over these last two
22:54games. And look, we're talking about the Chargers defense and the Saints defense here, right? Um he was 21 for 48 last
23:00week and 19 for 56 here. And we know obviously that Mike Washington had that long run of 36 yards on the touchdown.
23:07So is this just poor blocking up front?
23:09Uh is this something that can get fixed?
23:11I understand that once we get volume, no matter what, on 22 touches, you should get there to a degree that is startable
23:16on a weekly basis, but uh I think this is the concern heading into the season that the Raiders offensive line just
23:22struggles to run block at this moment.
23:25>> I'll tell you, their highly paid center was on the ground a lot more than I would have liked to seen, Tyler
23:30Linderbomb. Um I'm when you guys watch that one back, you'll see him on the ground quite a bit. I'll just say this,
23:36watching Genty, you're not concerned because the volume is there. What was he dealing with coming in this season? The high ankle sprain. He doesn't quite look
23:44gentyesque right now. So maybe this is something that hey, finish the game healthy. Maybe that that ankle will heal up as we go. Mike Washington had the
23:54most explosive play. But they are very much committed to Genty who again dropped I think I think two passes in this game as well after dropping about
24:02three last week. Like catch the ball Ashen Genty please.
24:06>> Yeah, I'm looking at the grades too.
24:07Ashen Genty's getting lit up in pass protection apparently. And then I saw a reporter saying that the trainers were looking at his ankles again on the
24:15sideline there. Look, man, Ashen Ji has to break more tackles and show more explosiveness. It's It's kind of that simple. I mean, this is this is
24:23the second straight year of it. Like, in this game, he did have like decent yards before contact. There's just like he's
24:29not hitting enough explosives on the ground. And and that's it's kind of it's very similar to what we had last year.
24:36And then when you get Mike Washington in there and then he like immediately has a 36 yard touchdown like that wasn't like
24:41the most wellb blocked play either. Um that's like for example I think I would rather have Brock Bowers and Ashen Genty rest
24:48of the season just straight up doing a draft today. Um and I think like that that was not that was not that was a no
24:54discussion two weeks ago and I think at this point it would be Brock Bowers over Genty in my rankings.
24:59>> Yeah, interesting point. I think a lot of fantasy shows might if you reddrafted take Ash and Genty in the top 12. I
25:04can't wait to go back and and rewatch this one. By the way, this Raiders offense gets the Kansas City Chiefs next
25:09week in a cool AFC West showdown. Um, you talked through it. We know about Alve. We know about Jawan Johnson. I
25:16mean, again, hopefully you have like George KD and Jawan Johnson like we talked about so much this summer. That means you have four touchdowns from
25:22tight ends and you're playing both guys in the tight end spot and the flex. Um, Han entered this game with a hamstring.
25:29He exits with the hamstring. Ray, we always talk about running back insurance and condensed back fields and all this type of stuff. Is there any hope for the
25:38Saints backfield moving forward? What is it right now?
25:41>> I I would I would I would recommend you find somebody else like Alvin Cameron was fine. [laughter] He he let me say he was NFL fine, but he
25:53he looks like a 30-year-old running back that never really was used as a true doit all Bellcow running back. Kindred Miller was getting lit up once he got
26:02into the game. It's Tyler Shuck. It's shuck or bust. It's shuck it to down the field to Chris Olive. Shuck it to Jawan
26:09Johnson. And Kell Moore obviously trusts him. I mean, they're throwing it all over the place. 48 pass attempts for him. The efficiency wasn't there.
26:18There there will be issues if if Han is going to miss time. There's going to be significant issues in that back field.
26:24>> Somebody want to watch from the back up left tackle.
26:27>> Sorry, Josh.
26:28>> Yeah. No, you're good. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
26:31Hey, you I mean you were because Banks was out, right? He's got a high ankle sprain, so he's not coming back anytime
26:36soon for for New Orleans. Like, and it showed at the end. I mean, Chuck was under duress big time towards the end of
26:42that game. So, uh it's it's Chuck, it's Johnson, and it's uh Chris Olive moving forward from this offense that you really feel confident and comfortable
26:51putting in your fantasy lineup.
26:53>> Yeah, Saints get the Falcons next week, and then right after that, it's the Minnesota Vikings. So, uh, they better get that offensive line right against
27:00the Vikings and the pass protection.
27:02That's for sure. Okay, Ray, we go from bad to worse for you as your Dallas Cowboys lose on a last second field goal to the Baltimore
27:10Ravens 34-31.
27:13Now, positive. I think you could argue this is the best international game of all time. I mean, they gave the Brazilians a show down there. I mean,
27:20the Cowboys open 10- nothing. Ravens then go on a 24-3 run. two touchdowns by Derrick Henry and a short touchdown catch by yes, Chris Moore. Um, I will
27:30say, I mean, obviously this game is back and forth. I won't talk through it all.
27:33Some of the more shocking elements was that Derrick Henry was stopped at least twice in terms of turnover on downs and
27:41third and fourth and short situations, one on the goal line. Uh Jan Baram who stepped in here in the starting lineup
27:48wears no gloves, no wrist tape, no elbow pads, just naked arms out there with long hair. Uh made play after play as a
28:00Phil player. Um and then for the Cowboys, I mean, yes, obviously everyone could have predicted Cvonte Turpin getting two goal line touchdowns, uh one
28:08and two passes, I think, won a jet sweep and then won a a receiving touchdown.
28:13But CD Lamb and George Pickkins, while they didn't find the end zone, were just all over the place. Both had seven
28:18catches, 112 and 82 yards respectively.
28:22Javvante gets in there for a short yardage touchdown. But the game at the end and just the moment was I'm going to say uh ball don't lie type
28:32stuff where to me Ry as a unbiased person, I think a horrible call by the refs sets the Cowboys up at the oneyd
28:41line. Uh Nate Wiggins is trying to play the ball. Gets his eyes turned. Yet his arm is hooked with CD Lamb. They call it
28:48DPI, which to me it was preventing Nate Wiggins from catching an interception, which would have ended the game. The Cowboys get it at the one or two yardd
28:56line. They can only settle for a field goal. Tie game. 7 seconds left. a 27 yard pass to Zay Flowers who played a
29:04lot more than let's say his five for 84 would suggest and a lot more than I think was reported ahead of this game.
29:11Uh and then Tyler Loop walks it off with a sooie 56-yard field goal in the end.
29:16So yeah, you can see here on the screen just the up and down roller coaster nature of this second half. Some highs
29:22from both but some lows from both as well here. Ray, >> yeah, I I feel them. My heart still hurts from this one because I thought
29:30we'd be delayed in recording this because I like, "Oh, we're going to overtime. We got it." But as you said, ball don't lie because that was not a a
29:36pass interference call at the end. I thought that was great great defense by Nate Wiggins down there. Very And I want
29:44your take because I'm watching this game clearly with some a little bit of a biased lens here. Josh, >> Dallas's defense, I mean, they came to
29:53play. This would have been two weeks in a row or Garvin would have been without a home because I would have bet my
29:58mortgage that Derrick Henry would have had 150 yards in this game and gotten close to 200 yards. 3.4 an attempt on 26
30:07carries. I thought the defense was phenomenal against him and outside of a Lamar Jackson couple of runs, you know, later on. I know Lamar got down the
30:14field. Uh did did Derrick Henry did was there anything in this one that concerned you with with Henry in particular? I mean, two touchdowns. I'm
30:23talking about him running the ball. Did he look like the king or or or was this just Dallas's defense, which has not
30:30been good against the run? Talk talk about Derrick Henry.
30:33>> Yeah, Derrick Henry's always been an interesting runner in that he is this mammoth monster robotic of a build and yet to me always needs a little bit of a
30:42runaway to get going and look his best.
30:44and a bunch of those stuffed carries were when offensive linemen or lead blockers were stuck at the line of scrimmage and he kind of ran into the
30:53back of them and then took a couple steps back and then tried to restart his momentum. So there's nothing different about Derrick Henry to me. It was more
31:00just this kind of shuffling Ravens offensive line. Like by the end of the game, Ethan Posich looks like he hyperextended his left knee. He exited
31:08their first round pick and Vingga Ionei had to come in and snap footballs and play center on the game second to nearly
31:16gamewinning drive. I think he only had 14 snaps in his collegiate career back in 2024 and that's it and they were
31:23still able to win. So I know they've already gone through two centers at this point and who knows if that is the case
31:29here but Hayden I kind of misspoke earlier. Slowers only played 21 of like 60some plays overall. And I guess to my
31:38eyes, I know Rashad Beman had a good week last week on the box score, but this offense really hasn't looked quite
31:43as good as it did in the first two quarters. Wednesday Flowers was a full-time player against the Indianapolis Colts. And ever since then,
31:50they're like trying to, you know, win in these moments of Lamar Scrambles or here's a Mark Andrews broken tack, those types of things. So, I really wish we
31:59got Declan Doro with Save Flowers completely healthy because I think fireworks are apparent.
32:05>> Yeah. The interesting part in this one, they had 30 series on offense. Baltimore had 21 of them started with a rush. Only
32:12nine of them started with a pass. Like this like a very very runheavy uh uh offense in this one. Um and they made
32:19the Z Flower stuff count and and obviously that that big 27 yarder over the middle and a obvious must pass situation. Uh, but this is, I think, a
32:27team just trying to figure out exactly how potent they can be through the air.
32:30Like beyond just like the Lamar Jackson and the Z Flowers part of it. Like they're still trying to figure out what
32:35is like Mark Andrews and these backup tight ends. Like what what is a Chris Moore and TZ Walker and like those type
32:40of guys, could they trust them or not?
32:42And like in the meantime, there's like running the ball up the middle to Derrick Henry uh until proven otherwise.
32:47Yeah, there there was a deep shot to Tez Walker early that drew a defensive pass interference and then there was another
32:54one that was him in a one-on-one situation and he just like failed to attack the football. I mean, a better receiver would have gone up and at least
33:02had a chance on it. But that kind of shows you where they're at right now with like we talked about TZ Walker or
33:08Lejonte Wester or Chris Moore and these guys pop up and then yeah if if Flowers plays 21 snaps and then Baitman's also
33:15in there then they somewhat cancel each other out albeit say Flowers does get the 27 yarder at the end. So uh I
33:21apologize to everyone in the start that showed that we told to play Rashad Baitman. I was expecting him to be kind
33:27of the full-time wide receiver here. Uh, I was not expecting Zay Flowers to play, but again, even on 21 snaps, it shows
33:33you how important Zay is to this passing attack. Yeah, where 21 snaps, six targets, five receptions, 84 yards. I just hope he gets fully healthy for the
33:42rest of the season from here on out.
33:46>> Josh, on Declan Doyle, quickly, anything you seeing in this offense that reminds you of anything that was run with the
33:52Bears? Does it look completely different? Do they not have the personnel? [clears throat] like is it I know they won the game, but does the
33:58offense feel like a fruitful fantasy environment outside of the big names that we know?
34:04>> Um, no. I mean, I I think it's going to be the Henry and Flower Show and then every once in a while someone else will
34:10pop up in there. But one thing I firmly know is that Declan Doyle is weaponizing Lamar Jackson's uh mobility more so than
34:20maybe an injured Lamar that we've seen over the last year or last season, I guess. Um, some of the best plays were
34:28him kind of running around in the back field and some of it was designed to, hey, go this way and throw it back the
34:33opposite way or buy himself some time and get some players open or hey, invite some pressure here, then climb up and we
34:38can scramble off that, too. I mean, he had six carries for 50 yards. Uh, there have been times when he's been banged up
34:44that we haven't seen six carries for Lamar Jackson and he looks great with it. And Ray, just to go back to you, I
34:50don't think there's anything less to say about this Cowboys offense. Um, it's good. It's fun. Um, and yet here we are.
34:58It's a loss and they're one and two despite scoring 31 points.
35:03>> I've got I have Yes, I have nothing to say. [laughter] >> I got one thing for Josh. How about this?
35:09>> The decision. Um, after the game was tied up, there's seven seconds left >> and the Cowboys kicked the ball for a
35:17touchback instead of dribbling the ball out and that one second was the difference there. I thought that was a really, really brutal decision by the
35:26Dallas Cowboys. Obviously, like the execution by Baltimore, that was awesome that they were able to complete the pass, get the timeout in, and then kick
35:33the field goal uh on this turf, but that is just like shooting yourself in the foot there for the Cowboys. And they're
35:39typically a very well coached team, but that was that was a pretty brutal mistake.
35:44>> Yep. Fair. Okay, next up, the Minnesota Vikings. Another 3 and 0 squad as they topple the 0 and3 Tampa Bay Buccaneers
35:5623-6.
35:58I'm going to say it guys, this was some vile, and I mean vile football. There was a stretch in the second and third
36:06quarter, and I don't mean to go be repetitive here, but it went punt punt punt, field goal, touchdown, punt, punt, punt, punt, punt, punt, interception,
36:14field goal, punt, punt, punt, punt, punt, punt. Uh, and those are all like three and outs. Those are all three and
36:20outs. It was a Spiderman meme between Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray pointing at each other because both of them were dropping their eyes, doing the hoke
36:29pokey in the back field and ending up under pressure and in sacks. Uh, Baker didn't even make it out of this game cuz
36:37on the final pass that he had an interception, it looks like he dislocated a finger on his right hand, his throwing hand. and Jaylen Daniels
36:47finished this game, the undrafted rookie who earned his spot in the NFL and maybe is one of the better stories we can look
36:52out for uh moving forward. But yeah, I mean there's not much to start off with other than Brian Flores's unit is one of
36:59the best in the NFL and is something that we have to acknowledge on a weekly basis in fantasy football. The way that
37:07his Vikings defense puts the opposition into a blender and into confusion again is something that we have to and will impact fantasy points moving forward.
37:16Baker was 17 to 34 217 and took six sacks in this game. The pressure looks confused tight ends. The pressure looks
37:25forced running backs to stay in the back field and just over and over and over again. And sure, Baker is probably the
37:31worst quarterback he won in that situation because I mean, some drop backs are 12, 14 seconds and they still end in a sack or quarterback hit or a
37:39one-yard gain or a throwaway and those types of things. But this impacted everyone. Um, I will add I don't think I
37:46looks awesome right now. I don't really see juice or explosiveness. It's kind of one note and he even took a huge shot
37:53from Josh Matelis. one of those where he catches it, takes a big shot to his neck and head area and loses control for a
38:02moment. So, that is something I want to track moving forward because he did go to the sideline for for a minute there.
38:08And then the opposite end for the Vikings. It really was just two plays for the entire day. It was two catches
38:14for Jordan Addison, a you know 30 totapper along the sideline and then that same drive it ends with a 41 yard
38:21touchdown to him in a one-on-one situation. And maybe most notably too, Justin Jefferson exits with an ankle injury early in this game for multiple
38:29series. We didn't know where he was and then he's seen walking to the locker room and never returns. There's a whole
38:35bunch injuries on both sides of uh questions and conclusions and news reports to follow throughout the week here. Hayden, >> is it still too early to tell on the
38:44Justin Jefferson news? And is there anybody we can trust beyond Jordan Addison if Justin Jefferson is out?
38:51>> Absolutely not. I mean, they threw two passes to Jawan Jennings. He caught one for one yard. Looks like molasses out
38:59there. And then Ty Felton, two targets for zero yards. So, the answer is no.
39:04Uh, other than that, it was just dump offs to Aaron Jones. I mean, again, it's not like Kyler Mur was any better than
39:10Baker Mayfield. Okay, maybe a tech better because he didn't just go into complete negative situations. But he was only 15 to 29, 168 yards, one touchdown,
39:20one interception. And then his interception was a batted pass at the line of scrimmage. It bounces off an offensive lineman. And Aan Robinson uh
39:29grabs it off the turf before it hits the ground and sets them up at the 21 yd line for again a a very uh important
39:36opportunity. And then yes, Aaron Jones dominates the carries, but only gets 3.4 yards per carry against his Buccaneers defensive line and namely Vea. So
39:46there's really no nothing to take away from this. And I still can't tell you exactly what the Kyler Murray le Minnesota Vikings passing offense is,
39:54Ray. And uh we're now entering week four of the NFL season.
39:59>> Yeah, I I really don't know what to make of this. I watched this one a little bit just in passing. It was up on the TV and
40:05I think the first play that I saw was when Baker Mayfield turned around and ran into Kenneth Gainwell trying to hand
40:10the ball off. I saw that a couple of times on Sunday where running backs and quarterbacks are running into each other. That's what my six-year-old son's
40:18team did today, not what a newly paid $50 million quarterback and in the running backs in the NFL should do. I
40:25listen I I'm just I told people on the Start Sit Show, I don't want any Aaron Jones. I just I'm I'm Kevin Oonnell was
40:33supposed to be one of these the brightest minds, the offensive gurus. We saw him do it with Darnold and and John
40:39and I'm just looking like man if Jefferson is out with Aiden. Like is there I mean do you want to play
40:45Addison? You're you're going to play Bua week in and week out. Maybe he's still got some lingering effects from his I
40:51believe ankle injury over training camp.
40:54This Baker Mayfield hurt again on a final play. This happened against the Rams a few years. I just this just you
41:00you punt punt pump punt punt whatever you said this just yeah >> Godwin is unplayable like is there any what is the
41:08>> leaving this game who do you the game who do you feel confident in playing next week >> I will say Chris Godwin had an 85 yard
41:16touchdown taken away rightfully so because uh the right tackle and Luke Gadki held against Dallas Turner who had a one-on-one hit on Baker Mayfield but
41:26he was behind him and pulled him off of him basically. And so Baker then scrambled another six seconds and found Chris Godwin down the field. And then I
41:33do want to shout out Ted Hurst who yes on the first drive only has one catch for 40 yards, but it's down the seam for
41:41an awesome gain. And Ted Hurst nearly had a great statline. And maybe that's going to be the tale of his rookie
41:48season that it was all nearly type stuff. But uh he was playing a lot of snaps, that's for sure. and Jay McMillan
41:54left this game again with with an injury. That comment that production pulled up on Kevin Seaffort, I think is really telling here, Hayden, where
42:03>> the Vikings are 3 and 0, but they've been outgained by 244 yards. So, >> yes, >> that's the second worst differential in
42:12total yards by any 3 and0 team in NFL history after the 2020 Seahawks. I mean, that 2020 Seahawks team pretty good
42:19defense. This Vikings team pretty good defense. And Hayden, in today's age, if you have a defense that plays to this degree and forces this many sacks and
42:26turnovers, it keeps you in games as the offense can figure things out as the season goes along hopefully.
42:32>> Yeah, Dallas Turner is turning just into a really impact player. Seven pressures in this one, and he he gets a lot of
42:37like one-on- ones against, you know, like players that should not be blocking him because of the the scheme, but he's making the most out of it. Um, and then
42:43I'm just still trying to get a feel for what this Kevin Oonnell offense is going to be. They've been really runheavy in
42:48the first two games. I was like, is that a Carson Wentz thing? And then they had 21 series in this game and they started
42:53with a rush on 12 of 21 which is an abovea clip again in this one and that's against Tampa Bay which typically is a
42:59pass funnel. So uh throughout our entire time with Kevin Okonnell calling plays it's been one of the most pass heavy offenses and then all of a sudden this
43:06year it's one of the most runheavy offenses. Are the runs working? They're they're really not working that well. So like that's like something I just want
43:13to monitor as you know hopefully Justin Jefferson's not out for very long. Yeah, for the Dean Clayborn people, three carries for one total yard for him uh in
43:23this game. And again, there are some units that were supposed to carry certain teams, right? The Vikings and their defense here.
43:31>> The Bucks and Vea stopping the run.
43:35Unfortunately, their pass rush that they invested so much in. Ruben Bane, I believe, missed this game. Yaya Diyabi left early on and was kind of in and out
43:44and failed to make an impact. And then the Bucks offensive line, like look, this is tough, but and it's tough blocking for Baker Mayfield, who is a
43:51magnet to contact too often, but uh I would say the Bucks offensive line has been a bit of a let down so far this
43:57year versus heading into the season, some expectations that might be a top three unit uh across the league. Go ahead, Hayden.
44:04Next week, Bucks versus Packers, do we have a head coach fire off? Uh Josh.
44:11>> Oh no. [laughter] Oh no. Um here's the thing. If you're fired Todd BS now after letting Liam Cohen get out of the building or even
44:20Dave Canal's getting out of the building, uh I think fans might revolt from that. But yeah, maybe maybe that Packers defense will make Jaylen Daniels
44:27look like the new young mobile athletic quarterback across the league and we'd have some fireworks some fireworks
44:34there. Uh okay. I mean, Rey, I'm gonna say it. Week three is a bit of a downer.
44:42And nobody is more down bad than Drake May right now. 14 of 25, 199
44:50yards, two interceptions, a fumble. His Patriots get demolished by the Jacksonville Jaguars. 35-6.
45:00Taw another three passing touchdowns.
45:02Bashel Tutin a gifted one-yd rushing score. And then Parker Washington three for 40 and a touchdown. I I know we can
45:10talk about the Jags here, Ray, but what the heck is going on with Drake May?
45:15>> Yeah, I I tweeted this out. I I tweeted out. I said, "The Patriots look like a team without an offensive identity that
45:22clearly overperformed last season. This isn't something that will just in quotes get better." If AJ Brown's absence is enough to make this offense look this
45:29pedestrian, everyone should be extremely concerned, lifeless, directionless. Big problems. Big big problems for this New England offense. And you've got to go
45:41deeper than just the box score here. Let me just read this for you for for old Drake May, who actually had two fumbles.
45:47One was lost. They just recovered another one.
45:49>> New England generated.
45:52EPA per pass play. Although Drake May's average depth to target was still 11 and a half yards down the field, average
45:59time to throw was 3.26 seconds, Jacksonville pressured on 54% of dropbacks, and they did that while only blitzing 13.5% of the time.
46:09Drake May, listen, this is bad. When their most consistent offensive weapon is M. Collins who should have had a touchdown right over uh Travis Hunter in
46:21the end zone just hit off the top of his hands. He led them in receiving. He looked like their most explosive weapon.
46:27Drake May looks confused. The offensive line is terrible right now. They cannot run the ball. I don't know what they're doing in the backfield with Trayvon
46:37Henderson and Raandre Stevenson. There's nothing explosive about this offense.
46:42And yet when you look at the total yards, New England outgained Jacksonville technically by two yards in this game and it was not close. Th this
46:52we can talk about Jacksonville and there are some numbers there that are a little concerning and not because Parker Washington didn't score, but this this
47:00New England offense if it was predicated on AJ Brown being there and that's why this looks so bad.
47:07I mean, Drake May, I I I'm looking at their next four. Their next four, Buffalo, Las Vegas, New York, and then
47:14potentially a Caleb Williams back Chicago Bears team. I don't know if they win any of those games.
47:20>> Offensively, lifeless, directionless, pedestrian. This This does not feel like something that's just going to get better.
47:30>> If you include the postseason through week three, the Patriots are now fourth worst in EPA per play. They're having the most sack uh the highest sack rate
47:40as well. They're not generating generating nearly as many explosives.
47:44And like that's your schedule tweets, you know, like Jacksonville's defense.
47:47Seattle's defense from this season.
47:49Obviously, all the postseason matchups, like that's the the schedule tweets.
47:53Their offensive line isn't isn't very good. Drake May is forcing passes that he has no business forcing. He's making very dumb decisions out there. And then
48:01in isolation, like they just don't have a go-to uh pass catcher right now. and then their running backs are are very
48:08hit and miss on on on what you're getting out of Trayvon. So, that would be like the part I would be curious
48:12about is like out of all of the like secondary pieces like is is there anybody that we can rely on or is this
48:18like quickly becoming a team where like I might say like you should be starting nobody from this entire offense in fantasy.
48:24>> Yeah. I mean, just to press back on that, couldn't you argue last year that there was no go-to player either? you
48:32know, but they ran hot in terms of 10, 20 plus yards down the field. The tight window stuff was unbelievable. And is it
48:41just as simple as I mean, Drake May played really well against average and bad defenses, and now that they're facing good to quality opponents, then
48:53they literally have nothing. They have no alternative. And if Drake May isn't again running hot with the tight window stuff and then comparatively completely
49:01regressing in terms of holding on to the football or throwing dumb interceptions in the red zone, then they literally have no chance. Like he I guess carried
49:10them last year despite the supporting cast and then this year without AJ Brown, Ray, they have no supporting cast and he's also letting them down with
49:17some of his mental errors.
49:19>> Well, you you use the word carry. I I think that's what they have to do. He did have a I think it was close to like
49:24a 15 yard rushing touchdown called back.
49:26It was a holding call, so that had to come back. The only thing I can think of is he needs to run more, but he looks
49:32very skittish in the pocket. And when you think about the weapons in the offensive line, they ran out 11 personnel 71.7% of the time or sports.
49:41So you're you're you're you're putting your quarterback in a position to just invite pressure. Jacksonville was getting home and they did not blitz. 13%
49:49of the time they blitz and they're just they're making life uncomfortable for May. I don't know what's going on with McDaniels and this offense. Uh and and
49:57you see right here on the screen, they're pushing. They're trying to throw the ball down field, but there's there's nowhere to go. There's there's nobody to
50:04throw the ball to down the field outside of and we're we're laugh M. Holland. I'm looking around like that's you just got
50:11to throw it to M. Holland. Just try to get it to 13. That's the best thing they they can do. Raandre and Trayvon. This
50:17nasty split between these two. There was a point in time where I had to look at my is Trayvon hurt. It It was just
50:23Raandre up the gut for a yard. Raandre up the gut for two yards. I I really don't think there is anybody you can
50:31start inside of this offense right now.
50:34>> A long carry of five yards a piece between the two of Hindo and and Raandre. Hayden, I know we can say this
50:42>> and I just want to repeat it because we already have. You have to completely disassociate Drake May of where you
50:47drafted him in fantasy this year as quarterback three, right? Like almost any other quarterback is a better alternative at this point.
50:54>> Yeah. And there's like too many Tyler Shucks in like that whole tier. Like you just have to play those guys ahead of
50:58them.
50:58>> But even like the next tier, like the Gino Smith tier is better than what Drake May is putting out there over the
51:03first three weeks. It it is that bad at this point. Uh Ray, just quickly on Jacksonville, talk me through Bachel Tutin's touchdown because uh it was a
51:12gift from his quarterback, was it not?
51:14Yeah, it it came much later down there.
51:16Trevor Lawrence, I think the fantasy people are upset about that. Uh going down and giving Toutin one. Like Trevor Lawrence could have scored there, but I
51:24Toutton looked good in this game. And I know we keep talking about him maybe not being this super high volume running
51:30back, but I'm just watching him play. Uh he ran the ball really well in this game, and I would love to see them
51:37increase his usage a little bit more down the stretch as we as we progress towards the middle of the season. This
51:43Jacksonville team is a weird one because maybe they knew that New England just couldn't threaten them offensively, but just when you look around at all the
51:51pieces and what Jacksonville was doing, let me just give you some personnel uh percentage usage. 53% 11, 30% of the time they ran 12 and then 13% 13
52:03personnel and all the receivers were cycling in. Right. We >> I I want to make sure I frame this carefully. Parker Washington is their
52:11best wide receiver in my opinion. Okay, he's their best guy, but that does not mean he's going to be peppered with 15
52:18plus targets every single week. Like, it's Liam Cohen's just kind of spreading it around as Jacobe Meyers here. It's not Brian Thomas, but he's just a gnat.
52:27He's just he's out there and he gets a couple of targets here. Britain Strange gets a little bit of usage there. Uh
52:33Parker Washington had a touchdown call back, they went right back to him and he scored again. you would like to see him
52:39sort of just each week you could just depend on eight, nine, ten targets and it just it feels like Liam Cohen is just
52:46Trevor Lawrence is going to spread it to whomever's open. Washington looks awesome. Uh this Jacksonville team just I I don't know if they've really been in
52:55a position to where they have to just gun it all over the place and and hyperfocus on somebody. I thought the
53:00best offensive player for Jacksonville despite the gift of the touchdown.
53:05Toutin looked really well. when you watch this one back, you'll come away saying, "Hey, this is somebody that I'll I'll bet they get him more involved as
53:11we move down the down the season."
53:14>> Yeah. Bas drafters got what they want, which is the the socialism. Uh that little free touchdown at the end there
53:19just uh cherry on top. I like that Trevor Lawrence at least admitted uh what his uh his incentive was over there. Um I think that Parker
53:28Washington's just going to have better days. Like he he's playing almost a full-time role. I just looked at it again. Brian Thomas is playing half as
53:35many snaps as uh Parker Washington Jacobe Myers. Like it is it is a complete total total difference in Parker Washington versus Brian Thomas.
53:43We've noticed this for the last couple weeks. Like once again it happened.
53:46>> Yeah. I I put Brian Thomas Jr. on the drop list on last week's waiver show. By the way, subscribe so you get this
53:51week's waiver show after Monday Night Football. Um and nothing is from what's happening from a target standpoint, even route standpoint is made me think
53:59otherwise. And once again, we have Josh Cameron popping in for a red zone 12- yard touchdown. So, like it's, you know,
54:06two tight end stuff and then they're also getting Josh Cameron involved in some situations.
54:10>> Uh Ray, I also want to add that Travis Hunter gun interception in this game.
54:14>> He did. He did. And it was um >> you can tell he was happy like he he did a dance in the end zone. He was it was
54:21it was a good it was good to see the defensive side show up. He got in on offense and and nothing nothing his way
54:27offensively.
54:29Uh, I just quickly want to check uh where Hayden, if you can help me with the defensive snaps for >> 45
54:40of 63. There we go. That's a little bit better than last week. That's a little bit better. Okay. I just I just want to
54:45be fair, you know, when criticizing the usage last week than bringing it up and and bringing up as a talking point
54:51>> here. Okay, let's stick in that division and talk about the Houston Texans and the Indianapolis Colts. Um, in the end,
55:01Colts win 1917.
55:04Hey, I know I tweeted this out like halfway through the third quarter or something that this Texans offense looked miserable. It was three yards a
55:12carry for Deont. It was about 83 passing yards for CJ Strad. Uh, it doubled. He got to 167 and a touchdown. But what is
55:20going on for this 0 and3 Texans team that many people picked to win the Super Bowl because their defense and hopefully
55:26an improved offense?
55:29>> Number one, their defense is still very good, but it's not quite as good as I think some of the preseason
55:34expectations. The Colts, we'll get to them in a second. We're picking on their linebackers. They're dealing with some uh injuries at linebacker right now, and
55:40there's a lot of open space over the middle on the Indianapolis side. But for the Texans offense, just brutal performance from the interior. Once
55:48again, there was like plays like Wyatt Teller just like beat right away. Uh David Montgomery 18% rushing success rate in this one. And it's the same
55:56rotation like David Montgomery gets a full drive, then Woody Marks gets a full drive. What does that mean? Woody Marks gets a goal line touchdown at the very
56:02end of the game. There's also a playaction touchdown to Foster Maro. Not Daltton Schultz. Foster Maro gets the touchdown. And on that play, Woody Marks
56:10is at the goal line, too. So, if you thought this is going to be David Montgomery getting all the goal line
56:14work, absolutely not. Whoever's on the football field the last play will be on the football field at the goal line.
56:19That's what the Texans are doing. And it doesn't matter which running back's out there. Neither of them are going to pick
56:23up any yards behind this offensive line.
56:26So, like that's like the first part of it. I think the second part of it, this is by far the slowest offense in the
56:32NFL. If you did a 4x100 race from any the quarterback, the running back rooms, throw the wide receivers in there, get
56:38the tight ends going, dead last in the NFL. And I looked this up. I was like, "All right, how could I quantify this?"
56:44And I looked at contested catches to wide receivers. The Texans have 24 this season. The next closest offense has 16.
56:53I That is that is a gap that should not exist. And you feel that for CJ Strad in this one. He took a couple sacks, but it
57:00wasn't even necessarily that. There's just no yards after the catch from the wide receivers. There's nobody open. And that was with the Indianapolis defense,
57:07one that was getting completely shredded uh in every capacity going into this game. So like this is an 0 and3 team
57:13because the offense is that bad.
57:14Whatever Nico Collins is making, you should pretty much triple it because without him like this team is completely unwatchable. And that's even before I
57:21get to Demo Ryan, which I want to take some shots at.
57:25>> Yeah, Hayden. I honestly just looking at the box score here, I did not watch much of this game. I I had eyes on it because
57:31my bold prediction was uh Josh Downs to get 100 yards and a touchdown. And when I saw an Indianapolis receiver get in
57:38the end zone, I was like, "There we go, Josh." And it's like, "No, that's Keenan Allen right there." [clears throat] >> Um,
57:44>> honestly, they say Nico may be back next week against the Dallas Cowboys.
57:49Where was Daltton Schultz at? Why is Xavier Hutchinson at the top of the box score? And was David Montgomery's 20 carries, three touchdown week one, was
57:58that just >> dead zone? Was that just was that fool's fool's go there? Like is that what you know?
58:04>> Did we all not after that game watch it and be like that wasn't anything special? Like there was a a play right
58:09up the middle for David Montgomery that went completely untouched. But every other carry went for nothing. And like that was just kind of the exception. He
58:17was not like the leading uh player in terms of snaps and any of the games before this one. Same thing here. It's
58:23going to be a 50/50 backfield and like truly like 5050 in every single capacity. And for my money, I think Woody Marks is better than David
58:31Montgomery just watching these two. In terms of the pass catchers, like Xavier Hudchinson, Kahan, Daltton Schulz, like these guys are going to like just like
58:38switch back and forth as Nico Collins uh comes back. Apparently Nico Collins is quote progressing well from the Demo Ryan part of it, but just no one's fast
58:46enough to get open here. And obviously when Dalton Schulz goes crazy the week prior, they probably have a little bit better of a game plan. But definitely a
58:52disappointing game only getting three targets out of Daltton Daltton Schultz.
58:56Didn't want to quickly hit on Demo Ryan.
58:57Couple things that happened here with with Demo. I think Demo Ryan is trending towards being one of the most overrated coaches in the NFL. You watch this
59:05Texans defense pass rush and those guys just get home immediately and like obviously he knows what he's doing on defense here, but there are just too
59:12many huge mistakes on offense either hiring the wrong offensive coordinators, not having a plan to fix the offensive line, and then the in-game decisions. Uh
59:20there was a field goal attempt. They were down 16 to7 at the fourth uh it was a fourth and four at their own six-yd
59:26line in the fourth quarter. They're down 16 to7 and they kick a field goal in that one. Then later in the game, the
59:33Colts are marching. The Texans have a lead now 17 to 16. The Colts are marching. They just need to kick a field
59:38goal to win this game. There's a run play. Jonathan Taylor runs the ball. the clock is ticking and instead of taking a
59:45timeout right away to save the Texans time because now they're in field goal range to have a chance to win the game,
59:50the clock is ticking, ticking, ticking, ticking, ticking and then with like a 3 seconds left on the play clock. That's when Diko Ryan calls a timeout. So, not
59:58only did you waste like the 30 seconds, but you also waste the timeout that you needed for the for the offense. The
60:04Colts kick a field goal, the Texans have a chance uh barely any time left, they throw a Hail Mary, ball goes out of
60:11bound, game over. But that's just like throwing away way too much in-game win probability with both the field goal attempt near the goal line and then the
60:19the decision of to not take the timeout earlier in the play there. Like too many of these things are stacking up for Demo
60:25Ryan. And I think to the big picture part is like we knew the offensive line was going to be such a disaster and they
60:31just don't do enough to fix it and we felt that the entire game here.
60:35>> Texans in two of their next three games have the Cowboys and the Jaguars. So, we'll see what they look like after six
60:40games this season. I quickly do want to ask you, Hayden, cuz this seems a very uncultt-like performance. Obviously, they win at home, but they throw for 235
60:49yards and only get 89 rushing yards out of the entire thing. So, this entire game plan, it was just put on the
60:57shoulders of Daniel Jones. And so, that ends with five for 77 for Josh Downs, almost a mirror of what he did last
61:02week. Keenan Allen 6 for 63 in a touchdown. And then Tyler Warren nine for 55.
61:08I mean, Will Anderson and Denil Hunter just absolutely roasted the Colts offensive line. Daniel Jones had a fumble early. I will say this, Daniel
61:17Jones got out of the pocket on a fourth down in truck stick. Uh, I forget which defender it was. Like Derek Sting or
61:23something like that. It was by far the most athletic play he's made on the season. That said, the Colts offense is
61:30the fear that we have. No completions beyond 20 airs in this one. 0 for three with an interception. the interception was like a third and six just throwing
61:38the ball way up a prayer as Denil Hunter's absolutely lighting up Daniel Jones. I think a couple things that stood out is like the offensive tackle
61:45play for Indianapolis is not as good in 2026 as it was in like 2023. Uh so you felt that against like elite
61:52competition. You have nobody to win down the football field and still I think that Shane Stiken is awesome as a coach.
61:59Like they got Josh DS going like early in this game. RPO slants little out routes. He had like a 40% target share
62:04going into halftime. Uh Tyler Warren had a truck stick early on. There was a cover two hole shot in this one. Uh so
62:10more step a little bit further down the field for Tyler Warren. And that Keenan Allen touchdown that ripped your heart out, Ray. That was a little mesh
62:17concept. And to the Texans defense point, uh they were trying to communicate that as Keenan Allen was working across uh the end zone there.
62:25And the last linebacker did not uh shuffle out in time for a touchdown to Keenan Allen. So, I think that's if
62:31there's going to be a weak spot on the Texans defense and you have to figure this out quickly because those pass
62:35rushers are going to come home. Throw the ball over the middle quickly and this entire game when you guys go back
62:40and watch it. Very, very few plays to the perimeter. Everything was quick and over the middle. Obviously, that's what happens when you have Josh Downs, Tyler
62:48War, and Keenan Allen. But, it's like something to keep in the back of your mind as you watch the Texans defense,
62:52too.
62:53>> Hey, this is a fear of mine, okay, with Alec Pierce going out. Was Keenan Allen getting involved more than I would like?
63:01I'm looking at the box score. Only three wide receivers, designated wide receivers, touched the ball for Indianapolis. It was DS, it was Keenan
63:08Allen, and the It looks like Laquan Treadwell had one. I like the targets with Josh DS having the 11 and Tyler
63:14Warren having the 10, but Keenan Allen right there with with nine targets. got the got the red zone look. Like I'm just
63:21I don't know if you were paying attention for you [cough] have all the numbers for the deployment who was on the field in
63:26certain situations, but is Keenan Allen going to be uh a big thorn in the side of Josh Downs? Do do you think with Alec
63:33Pierce being out?
63:35>> I think to some degree there obviously everyone operates in the same parts of the football field here. I think that's
63:40going to be like the frustration and Keenan Allen is so much bigger than Josh down. like maybe in the red zone they
63:44might look towards Keenan Allen, but Keenan Allen's like still a limited play like in this game like he had some like
63:48very clutch moments here, but there was not like wow that's like vintage Keenan Allen who I think is now 12th in
63:54receiving touchdowns all time. I think that's what they said on the broadcast um there. So, uh the good news is Laquan
64:00Tread was a full-time player and he gets one target in this one. So, like that is like your win sprint role and that's
64:04nice to have and then everything else is going to be underneath. Um so, I thought that Daniel Jones played like pretty
64:09well all things considered here. a couple bad plays, but man, like the the Denil Hunter and especially Will Anderson, it's like hard to overstate
64:16exactly what they did in this one. Uh because without like Willie Anderson, like the Texans would have lost by like 30.
64:24All right, Ray, the Cleveland Browns are two and one as they beat the Carolina Panthers in their home debut 21 to 18.
64:32And Todd Monin said his team is just scratching the surface. Now, I would hope so on some level because this Browns offense, I mean,
64:42Deshun Watson turns it up in the fourth quarter with a touchdown drive to win the game, but really just 144 yards and
64:50two scores. Quinnon Judkins 18 carries, 70 yards. Harold Fannon makes good with two goal line touchdowns. But other than that, it's like Denzel Boston two for
64:5941. Casey Conception, nine targets, two receptions, nine yards. And Ray, I know you saw those targets. Uh they were weward. He had to be 8 feet tall to have
65:09get a hand on some of those. That's for sure.
65:12>> Every week uh Deshun Watson almost has like three interceptions in a game. I I >> He didn't play well in this game, but
65:21>> he ran well. And if he's going to scramble around and pick up a whole bunch of yards with his legs, I I'm
65:27watching this one and the biggest thing that I took away is both quarterbacks, Watson nor Bryce Young, played particularly well. But in the fourth
65:36quarter, they showed flashes and shades of like the college versions of themselves in the fourth quarter, taking their team down the field. The drive by
65:44Deshun Watson to win it was was beautiful. Like that was a great final drive to get the ball down the field. He
65:50used his legs. He he hit receivers. Uh the the Browns did what they needed to do in their home opener. Watson was not
65:58great in this one. I just don't want people to the two touchdowns, the 45 yards. Harold Fannon, that's great. But Watson again throwing the football did
66:06not look great. I thought he looked best when he was running around. Josh, I know you watch a lot of Panthers. Bryce Young
66:12in the pocket at times is very magical.
66:15The way that he can escape pressure and and step up in the pocket and sometimes it gets him in trouble. I mean, he had
66:21Tommy Trimble wide open for a touchdown, decides to kind of roll around and get sacked and that just it this was a this
66:29was a rough game until like the last few minutes of the game. Um they ran the ball with Chuba 10 times for 18 yards in
66:36the first half. They just kept slamming it to Chuba. Um, yeah, one of the linemen, Hunt, got injured early. I think he came back in. Jaylen Coker, uh,
66:44got hurt in this game. And, and that's what's concerning. You tell me Bryce Young throws the ball 50 times and McMillan only gets five targets. Like
66:51that, >> maybe it was just an off day, maybe it was the first time Carolina faced a defense that was hot for them, but there
66:59just you'll watch this one back and they're just some maddening headscratching calls in this game. Uh the the best part of it from the
67:07Cleveland side, Judkins kept getting fed and he had a couple of big runs, but he looked he didn't look special in this
67:12one either. Harold Fannon Jr. looked like, okay, just get the ball to him and Deshawn Watson running around was like the big takeaway here for the Cleveland
67:19side.
67:20>> So, a couple things. The first one, uh I think either on the show with Boone on Thursday or Hayden with you in the wide
67:26receiver rankings, I said if Deshun Watson doesn't turn the football over, the Browns win this game. And he did not turn the football over, but boy did he
67:33try. Uh the Panthers dropped [laughter] >> a pick six on like the first drive and then another overthrown pass to Casey
67:40Conpion that fell right in the lap and they they dropped it. They also he avoided three sacks. You could also say
67:46the Panthers should have taken him down for three sacks. Um and then in the end there was a fourth quarter on the
67:52game-winning drive interception in the end zone that kind of would have sealed the game for the Panthers if they had gotten one more first down and they
67:58called a roughing the passer penalty which I I can totally see. There was kind of like he lunge forward on the throw and defensive
68:05line went and hit him in the head and all this type of stuff. So, it's it's not an awful call at all. Um, on the
68:10Panthers end, the Jaylen Coker thing is a big deal because he comes in with an ankle, leaves with a quad, and I don't
68:19know if it's, you know, overestimating and overcompensating and all that type of stuff, but the quad injury, I believe, and I can't tell you which leg
68:28it was, kept him out of the start of last season. And that was a long injury.
68:32And without Jaylen Coker on this team, all the Browns did was play man coverage against T-Mac on Denzel Ward on the
68:40outside and iso and then no one else can win in isolation at all. No one else can get open. And so you just play man
68:46coverage and you pass rush and you blitz. I think Bryce Young was pressured on 30 of his 48 passing attempts here
68:54today. Uh that's rough stuff. That's 61% of the time. So, uh, yeah, that leaves you with two receptions for 17 yards.
69:01And Hayden, I know you're going to go back in Monday and watch this and see if he was creating separation at all.
69:07>> Well, my question just who survived this Panthers could you you mentioned both corners might be out, linemen are out, Coker's out. I know Bryce Young was
69:15limping around a little bit like what like what is like the actual like status of like the important players like who
69:20who is healthy on the Panthers?
69:22>> Yeah. Yeah. It's rough because again they are one and two and face the lines on Sunday Night Football. Uh Mike
69:27Jackson left very early on with a groin injury. JC Horn left with also a quad injury himself. Uh Jaylen Coker early on
69:34in the first quarter quad injury.
69:36Basically sitting in tears on the sideline. Bryce I think gets stepped on by his offensive lineman and he has an ankle issue throughout the entire game
69:44and missed some >> I would say uh inexcusable passes but unlike him this season so far and uh Damen Lewis was kind of in and out and
69:52then Mitchell Evans left on top of it too. So I don't know this >> again T-Mac you could say okay it's
70:00Denzel Ward at the same time again I haven't rewatched it from the eye in the sky but you would like to think that
70:06someone like that can create more separation and I just don't think he could just from watching it if he was getting open I think what Bryce Young is
70:14playing right now he would be able to get him the football and he could not do it >> he did not the the only one he did not
70:20and there was a play on the end zone and it was not Denzel Ward it was number 28 8. It was a backup quarterback draped
70:27all over T-Mac on an endzone target. Um, I know they said they put on weight in the off season. I'll also just say his
70:34body language does not look great out there. It is not Marvin Harrison Jr.
70:38levels of body language, but it does not look like a secondyear player coming off a 10,00 season. And the answer to the
70:44separation question was no. He he was not creating much separation at all in this game.
70:49>> Yeah. And again, I'll just close with like the Panthers are pretty solvable if they don't have Jaylen Coker. You know,
70:56it's you play isolated coverage with their best corner against T-MAC and then you just pressure and you blitz and you kind of suffocate this offensive line
71:04that uh is allowing way too many hits over the first few weeks of the season.
71:09So >> Josh, it it's the announcers were saying in the game and you know, take it with a grain of salt. They said they need to
71:15get Jaylen Coker the ball because he's their best receiver. That's what the announcers were saying in the game. They were like, "He's their best receiver.
71:22They need to get him the ball at some point." And I'm just like, "Wow."
71:26>> Yeah. There was a play that Bryce hit on the first two weeks that he did not hit this one where Coker like had a step for
71:32maybe even a long touchdown and he overthrew it by one or two and this was after he got stepped on. So, that's
71:37again a pass that he hit in the first two weeks. And again, Xavier Leit also missed this game too. So, uh, yeah, just
71:44rough stuff all around. And like you said, while Chiba Hubard stat line looks fine from a yards per carry standpoint in the at the end of the game, the first
71:50half it was non-existent. They couldn't move the ball at all. It was 10 carries for 18 yards. Um, >> yep.
71:55>> So, yeah, that's it. Okay, Hayden, we have to talk about a running back. And unfortunately, it is bad news here with
72:03the Chiefs and the Dolphins. And I think we can all assume how, you know, this one ended in a huge blowout victory for
72:11the Kansas City Chiefs 24-10. But Devon Achan leaves quite early in this game as they put an awkward tackle knee injury.
72:22Hayden, what's the latest news? What's the diagnosis? What should we expect from the backfield mates that uh stepped up in his absence
72:31>> after the game? They said, quote, "Does not sound very optimistic." the fear could be an ACL or meniscus type of
72:37injury there. It was a shame because like immediately slot work, he gets a pitch in this one, a little check down
72:44in the flat and then in the open field just kind of a really awkward play. He might have even done it the step before
72:49the face mask there. Um but just does not look good for Javon Han. They did not have a third running back in this
72:56game. It was Olly Gordon. Jaylen Wright was limited limited DNP with a foot injury before being inactive there. So was Olly Gordon. They were asked about
73:04why they don't have a third running back. And the reason is because they really like Malik Washington. They Malik Washington knows both positions. And
73:13Malik Washington without Devon I think is going to unfortunately be a pretty important player. Um like probably enough so to be um at least like
73:21waiverwire curious while Caleb Douglas is sidelined here. Did want to give some credit to the Dolphins like they're not a good football team. They don't have
73:29enough good players. They did compete in this one. The first uh drive of the game was a 17play 91 yard touchdown drive.
73:36The Chiefs offense was was pretty dialed in here, but like this was not like a complete uh blowout uh win here by the
73:44Chiefs by any means. Uh and some some like kind of ancillary players like Chris Bell. He had a dig route for a
73:51first down early. He nearly had a touchdown on a slot fade. Uh his big explosive was another dig route yards after the catch. You can see that he has
73:59all the explosiveness. He's still a little bit tight um coming off of that injury, but his like straight line explosiveness is pretty evident. And
74:06then he also had a man coverage win against Mansour Delane on a third and six, more of a slant route for him
74:12there. So, I think it was like a pretty encouraging game for someone like Chris Bell, but it's going to be like a lot of
74:17Malik Washington. He had a yards after catch touchdown called back on an illegal shift. Um, so you know, I don't trust the uh running back rotation
74:26because like we don't know what this is going to look like when Jaylen Wright comes back, which I'm assuming is going
74:30to be this next week.
74:32>> Can I just say though, like it's a pointless offense. Like I understand they're going to pop up for some yards
74:37here or there, but you know, they have 13 13 and 10 points through the first three weeks and then they face the
74:42Vikings and the Bengals over the next two. Like I understand someone has to get target share and market share of carries and all that type of stuff, but
74:51we're kind of at a point for like drawing a line through the Miami Dolphins as being a fancy relevant offense, right?
74:57>> Yeah. I mean, Devon AMA was going to be so important obviously to that team and uh yeah, it's I don't know how they're
75:03going to get real explosives here. Uh Malik Willis is like taking some shots down the field like to, you know, certain degree of success there. Um, I
75:11just think that like Malik Washington has 10 targets in this one. Five for 56.
75:14Like I think that he is going to have like a PPR scam. Like could he do like a Juan Dale Robinson type of thing this
75:20year? Like I would not be that surprised uh for for Malik Washington. Just hearing the coaching staff talk about him. Like he's he's suddenly very
75:28important at work, which obviously >> if that's your offense, uh like things aren't working well. Uh, so, uh, good fight for Miami, but they're closer to
75:37like the ACC than, you know, like the NFL. [laughter] >> Well, let let me ask you about the Kansas City Chiefs because I'm looking
75:44at the box score and the the part of the game that I did see, Rasheed Rice had, I guess he slipped and then slapped the
75:51ball up in the air that led to an interception. But then I'm I'm looking at his statline and this looks more
75:59reminiscent of what the Kansas City Chiefs offense was last year. a lot of Rasheed Rice and nobody else. Nine targets, seven for 88. I know Kelsey got
76:08in the end zone and he had that big long run catch and run in the game. But how how did how did Rashi look in this one?
76:15>> Maybe a couple more shots down the football field. Like nothing like too deep, but it wasn't like super super manufactured. Um he he still is like
76:22blocking for Xavier. There's a holding call on him there. like the the interception. Maybe the ball like on a different angle may was a little bit
76:29behind him, but ball bounces off his chest for an interception there. Really fluky play, but like good to see Rashi Rice like in a game where they have no
76:37secondary. Miami is like their secondary is the worst in the NFL right now. Uh he has to get home and he does with seven
76:44for 88, a 35% target share in this one.
76:47Kenneth Walker not nearly as dialed in uh as a receiver. Now, that said, uh, a little play action, underhand, uh, receiving touchdown at the goal line for
76:57Kenneth Walker, but a lot fewer, uh, you know, checkdowns, a lot fewer like swing routes, a lot fewer screens to Kenneth
77:03Walker. I think that really is like the Rashid Rice stuff. Like, if that consistently goes to Kenneth Walker like it did in the first couple weeks, he's
77:10got no chance. If this is what it looks like, I think Rashi Rice could be a fantasy wide receiver 2, three. I don't
77:17think that we're going to get like Rashi Rice as the top five, top 10 overall wide receiver, but I think that he's
77:22gonna uh hold the line.
77:24>> Yeah. I mean, I did want to ask you about Rice because Hayden, the first two weeks of the season, it was two catches
77:3019 yards, then two catches 83. So, while there was a bunch of negativity for Rashi Rice earlier this season, we do
77:36have backtoback 80 yard performances with, you know, four and seven receptions. I'm not I'm not saying that this is the wide receiver oneish numbers
77:46that we were getting early on, but in the grand scheme of wide receiver 2 three stuff, this is not like >> a totally bottomed out fantasy pick as
77:56maybe it was made out to be after week one >> and week two's 80 yards was very, you know, fluky. Like they had like the 30
78:04or 40 yards like at the end of the game.
78:05This was way more real Rashi Rice stuff like enough where like he's certainly going to be a top 20 wide receiver in my
78:11rankings next week. I feel like the big picture thing zooming back out is just I mean Patrick Mahomes did nothing wrong
78:17in this one. 90th percentile completion percentage over expected. 95th percentile EPA per play. That includes the interception. I did not think was
78:24his fault. On play action, 11 for 11.
78:27Seven of those were uh under center play action, not like the little RPO play action, like real play action stuff for
78:34189 yards in this one. Uh Travis Kelce with a very interesting game, wide open chunk play on the first play of the
78:40game. It was the exact same play that Kel or that George KD had against the Dolphins last week where he starts off
78:46going right, comes back left, wide open, like literally the same exact play, >> does nothing for the entire rest of the
78:53game until the last play of the game for them. scores a touchdown on a third and six, which he was the first ret target.
79:00So, first play, last play, nothing in between. That's where Rashi Rice uh uh was was kind of more important. And then
79:07Kenneth Walker like starts the game, 10 yard touchdown up the middle. Uh I mentioned the the uh receiving touchdown at the goal line there. Like he even in
79:15a game where the Chiefs had 49 plays, Kenneth Walker finishes with 20 opportunities, scores two touchdowns.
79:22Uh, like, yeah, this is this is gonna be pretty.
79:24>> Nobody other than Bejan and Gibbs. I said it week one. Like, those are those are the only two running backs I'll take
79:31over. Walker and then Hayden, I'm going to put you on the spot because people watching the show, thank you for watching. We We know you are. They're
79:38They're feeling it right now. Okay.
79:40Devon Achan down. Bree Hall down. Travis Achan down. We lost both Achan boys. If you had to pick one of Ali Gordon,
79:48Brilen Allen, or Alvin Chimera, because managers are pan Listen, we're at that point now. They are like, I'm I'm hurting.
79:56>> It's Brilen.
79:57>> It's Brilen Allen. Okay, there you go.
79:58Cuz they're going to spend time. People are going to People are going to blow the budget to get one of these running
80:03backs.
80:06>> I think that Brillin Allen's a pretty solid pickup. Like, if I was giving advice on the Waverwire show, like I I
80:11mean, >> you can do it instead of me tomorrow night if you want to.
80:14I I'm doing plenty I got plenty of shows to record myself here.
80:18That's all you guys. But Brillin Allen like he's gonna get all the goal line stuff because Isaiah Davis isn't going to get any any of that. And like the
80:25Jets offense has been competent for the three games there. And I think that Brilen Allen like you know among backup running backs. Is he the best? No. Is he
80:32the worst? No. I think like we know what we're signing up with with Ollie Gordon stuff like good game from him like
80:38because he was able to absorb everything. I just don't know if that's going to carry over when Jaylen Wright is actually active for the game. And
80:44like that is just like a huge wrinkle that we just cannot account for uh with a new >> Jets score more points than the the
80:51Dolphins like that.
80:52>> The Dolphins by like Yeah. like double or triple it. Yeah.
80:55>> Yes. Um just to quickly on this since EMTT Johnson was such a um active waiverwire pickup, he had six touches
81:02compared to the 20 for Ken Walker. So again, this this is the gap is closing a little bit, but not really closing
81:09overall. It it it doesn't matter. Emma Johnson is a handcuff uh a running back insurance play at best. Okay.
81:16Unfortunately, since Matt Harmon is not here, we didn't get eyeballs on four other games. So, I'll just call attention to some stuff in the box score
81:23and see if any of us got any eyeballs on it. The first one is the Arizona Cardinals and the San Francisco 49ers.
81:31Arizona nearly comes up with this one.
81:34Only lose by six. Albeit it felt like that the 49ers had nice command for most of the game. Brock Pury unreal on just
81:4115 completions. Throws for nearly 300 yards and four touchdowns. Two of those to George KD. One I guess is the Debo
81:50Samuel on a hook and lateral to Mike Evans who then pitches it and he runs at 80 yards. Uh I'm going to assume that
81:57Debo Samuel Hayden set the NFL record for most receiving yards. actually having an actual reception with 80 in this game.
82:05>> I did see a tweet. I think it was like since like 1960 something when uh they started tracking that that's exactly
82:10what happened. I will say this on dbo >> that was probably the fastest he's ran in quite a while. He he he hit the he
82:17hit the corner there pretty decent that I I'm assuming it was a safety coming around and he just outran him there. So
82:23I think that was really encouraging.
82:24Josh, I did watch a lot of this game.
82:26Brock Pie is the MVP through three weeks. Like hang the banner, you know.
82:30through three weeks, but Brock Pretty pretty much has not missed. And I think that the big thing that's standing out with him is the injuries around him. And
82:37we lost multiple soldiers here. Mike Evans leaves with a rib injury.
82:42Apparently, it's like a oblique Yeah, it's like oblique rib cartilage. Like that might be like a, you know, not something that you like get an injection
82:49in play through. Like that could be something that lingers. Uh Trent Williams had a stinger in this one. He did not play uh for a lot of the second
82:56half in this game. So, like they were running out of guys to throw the ball to, and that's where George KD uh gets
83:03left open a couple times uh in the end zone. Brock Pury was also like running around like a madman. We didn't see uh I
83:10think one of them got called back here, but you add another 34 yards. Like he is dialed in right now. Um so really
83:18impressive performance by Brock Pury because this defense is so injured that you know a Cardinals team can put up 30 points.
83:24>> Yeah.
83:24>> Yeah. I was watching some of this too.
83:27Yeah, I was watching some of this one too and um just the play designs from from Kyle Shanahan. It just the
83:33efficiency is there. It it does look like George KD's back and there was a 50 yard uh from Brock Pury called back by
83:40an awful awful holding call on George KD at the three yard line they threw that flag. Absolutely ridiculous. So Perie should had another rushing touchdown in
83:50this one. I I'll just say this. The 49ers lost Nick Bosa and I believe two additional defensive tackles prior to this game and my one of my bold calls
83:59was Jeremiah Love is just going to get fed like he's going to have a good game.
84:0321 for 90 isn't you know it's it's not worldbeating. It's not Gibbs. It's not Bejon but I thought Love uh ran well. Uh
84:10the Niners kind of sold out to stop him but I thought he looked really good and we laughed about it last week. Get Tyler
84:17Algier off the field because he looked so slow. Only two carries for Tyler Algier in this one.
84:23>> Speak on Hayden.
84:26>> Yeah. On Algier, it wasn't an injury. He just got benched. You know, it's just as simple as that. And it was the right
84:31time. Josh, you nailed it with like the Bree Hall stuff. Like the first two games with the floor with Bree Hall kind
84:37of gets eased in and then at that point just like it's complete go time as it should with Jeremiah Love. There's a
84:41couple like spin moves from him. I still think that that he looks awesome, but he's going to catch passes. He had five
84:47targets for five receptions in like cleanup mode here and he's not going to come off the football field at all, rightfully so. I think that if we were
84:55reddrafting today, uh I think there's a good argument that he would be a second round pick, especially like all the running backs that we just mentioned
85:01that got hurt this week. Like he's he would be screaming up draft boards like maybe even like being passed uh passing
85:08up like someone like Chase Brown too. Uh Ashen Genty. Like would you rather have Love or Ashton Genty? Like I think I
85:13would rather have Jeremiah Love >> at this point. Yeah, the Cardinals are like a they're a functionally bad team.
85:19Like there's some competency here with Jacobe Brassette um in in catch-up mode and um I'm here for the fantasy points.
85:26>> Yeah, their next two games I think are actually kind of winnable. It's the Giants and the Lions. So uh maybe we'll
85:32get some friskiness here from the Arizona Cardinals. Um their pass catchers in this game. Michael Wilson 17 targets, 11 receptions, 89 yards. So,
85:42one guy in Michael Wilson gets 17 targets and one guy in Marvin Harrison Jr. gets five targets. So, if that doesn't tell you everything you need to
85:49know about the totem pole here with uh Trey McBride sandwiched in between for for nine for 75. I I'm wondering what
85:56the 49ers even do at wide receiver. Like with every single name that they have missed, Demarcus Robinson added on to that. It was like Jaden Watkins popping
86:05up with two catches for 60. Is there anyone in the rolodex that is like are they going to call Dante Pettis? What
86:11are we doing here? You know, >> BTJ trade for that BTJ. Jerry Judy.
86:15>> I'm just saying they've had so many, you know, receivers cycle through there over the years that uh are we going to get
86:21like an AJ Jenkins call, Ray? That's a deep cut for you. AJ Jenkins.
86:25>> That is a deep cut. First round pick.
86:26First round pick.
86:27>> All right. in real life.
86:28>> Let's talk about man, all these games I wish we got eyeballs on, but that's just going to make stats versus film even
86:33better this week. The Pittsburgh Steel there's 30, Cincinnati Bengals 27. So, I'm looking at it. Joe Burrow, three touchdowns, 282, zero interceptions,
86:42only one sack taken. That means Jamar Chase 98-1. T. Higgins 90-1. Mike Cassiki 37-1.
86:50But really nothing in the the rushing department. And I think this comes down to like the fumble at the end of the
86:57game kind of seals it for a Pittsburgh Steelers offense that might not have been pretty for the entire time. Aaron Rodgers yelling at his own teammates
87:06after they drop some passes. But Jaylen Warren pops up for seven and a half yards for Pop at 17 carries, 127 yards.
87:14And then they spread it around almost evenly with, yes, the big right tackle, Darnell Washington. Three receptions, 67 yards. being this team's leading rusher.
87:23Who has a thought? Who has a question?
87:27>> Can I say Aaron Rogers was dialed in at the start of this game? I mean, okay, >> he looked to at the start of the game,
87:34right? I know the final stat line was good, but I mean, the the the there was a Ben Scaranic, it looked like they were
87:39going to insert him to block. They bring him in motion and then he seeps free for for a touchdown. Roman Wilson looked
87:46like trusted by Aaron Rogers early in this game. I know DK Metaf scored, but I I this was a shocker for me, y'all. I
87:54mean, Aaron Rogers looked good in this game, all things considered, and maybe just kind of leaning on Jaylen Warren to to run the ball and and open things up.
88:03I I don't know how confident I am in them weekto week, but I'm I'll just say I'm intrigued by Roman Wilson. I would
88:10like to look at his deployment and and how they used him a little bit because he's one of the few guys on that field
88:16that's got some short area quickness and some juice.
88:20>> I think my takeaway from this one is, you know, the Bengals defense looked awesome against the Texans. I think that's going to happen for every team
88:26facing the Texans. And like [laughter] I think that the Dexter Lawrence stuff like is going to make an impact, but like I mean this this defense is not
88:33going to be that good. Like they're just still figuring things out at too many positions in general. like they don't like still like consistently rush the
88:39passer in this one. Um yeah, I want to go back and watch this one. The one play that I saw from this one is Jaylen
88:45Warren had nobody in front of him for a touchdown. Jaylen Warren had an awesome game and then just got completely sniped
88:51and like just turf monstered and he doesn't finish with a touchdown.
88:54Otherwise goes absolutely crazy in this one. He does not come off the field pretty much in this one. It's like a 92%
89:00snap rate for Jaylen Warren. Rico Datt's a toe injury. Like I I think the Steelers offense uh showed enough here where Jaylen Warren like was ranked as a
89:08top 15 fantasy running back and like absolutely should have been.
89:12>> Every run to the left. Look at that.
89:14Run, run, run, [laughter] left, left, left. Uh yeah, the Bengals are kind of one play away from being 3 and 0 and
89:21instead they're two and one. They have the ball 53 seconds left. First and 10 at the plus 38. So on the Pittsburgh
89:27Steelers 38 yard line. At worst that should be a sentence into overtime. And unfortunately, your boy Derek Harmon sacks Joe Burrow and the game ends on a
89:36fumble. So, uh, that must feel wicked for the Bengals fans on top of it. Okay, another game that there is no chance I
89:46would have predicted this game being close and especially a Washington Commander win at home.
89:5333 points compared to the Seattle Seahawks 31 points. paid Marcus Mariota, three touchdown passes, 183 yards. I mean, I'm kind of looking at the stat
90:04sheet and I don't know how the Commanders got 33 points and I don't know how they won this game with 183
90:10yards passing and then 82 yards rushing on 32 carries. And yet here we see the end result being the defending Super
90:16Bowl champions.
90:18>> Well, Jarian Price fumbling. Uh that's one way to get good field position. That was that was a bummer right away in this
90:24one. But quickly on the Marcus Mariota side of this, uh, I had a tweet December 2nd of last year. And this said, since
90:312024, Marcus Mariota is first in completion percent over expected, seventh in success rate, and 11th in EPA per dropback. And I'm going have to
90:39update those because this is like another excellent game against the Seahawks without Sam Cosby, probably their best offensive uh, lineman that's
90:47still healthy there. So like a really impressive game from him. I'm have to go back and watch this one. like the fact
90:52that Terry McLuren uh got home despite facing Deon Witherspoon and Josh Jo with that state of the offensive line like super impressive stuff and I I think
91:02without question Marcus Merida is the best backup in the NFL and his passing numbers are almost identical on a per game basis to Jaden Daniels. Obviously
91:10Jaden Daniels is five times more explosive than Marcus Mariota but purely just dropping back over like the last uh year or so Marcus Mariota's like been
91:18holding the line. So really awesome performance for him.
91:22Uh, Ray, I brought this up after week one. Um, for the rushing attacks against Donte Jones's defense, who is a disciple
91:31of Brian Flores. We know those Flores defenses are tough to run on. Seattle has ran it on a bunch of people and they
91:38only managed 44 rushing yards on 18 carries. Jiren Price 5 for 15. Emanuel Wilson was even worse at nine carries for 14 yards. So maybe this is something
91:50we need to keep in mind with this commander defense. Albeit not as good as the Vikings, but they do so many similar
91:56things that maybe they are just as difficult or not just as but fringing on close to being difficult to run on.
92:04>> What's so frustrating about this is Seattle is giving Jaren Price every opportunity to be the guy. Every opportunity. and that once he got
92:15fumbled that he they said it there was a tweet out there that he's just in a raincoat on the sideline for for the
92:20rest of the for for them and the rest of the game until they got down late in the third quarter. Um Sunny Styles was
92:26awesome in this game, the rookie linebacker for the Commanders running stride for stride with Jidarian Price down the field defended him. It would
92:33have been a long touchdown catch for Price. Yet this rookie linebacker is just I mean he's running stride for stride with Price. But five carries, 15
92:41yards. And we talked about it last week and I was like, "Hey, he got hurt in the game." Josh, I know you went back, you
92:46watched it and said, "Hey, I think that those 14 carries would have gone to Price had he not been injured in the
92:52third quarter." But if he can't be trusted to to take care of the football, they can't run it. Like it's not George
92:58Hani, it's not Emanuel Wilson, they want it to be Price. He has got to step up in a major way. One of the interceptions
93:06from Sam Darnold, I mean, it was tipped up in the middle of the line. Like defensive the defensive linemen just got
93:11their hands on and it popped up. Um Jackson Smith and Jigba tied for the league lead with six touchdowns through three weeks. Just unreal. Not nothing
93:19that we really need to dive into, but just unreal player. Jackson Smith and Jigb.
93:24>> We'll go through that one much more in stats versus film. And we'll close out here with the New York Jets. They're
93:30actually 2-1 as they beat the Tennessee Titans 12 to7 in weather. I mean, there's really no one to point to here
93:38that's fantasy relevant. Um, the Giants did not have an offensive touchdown in this game. Cam Scatteroo was the leading receiver with three catches for 40 yards
93:48and the leading rusher with 20 carries for 60 yards. Um, Malik Neighbors only five for 26. Maybe that goes to show you
93:55where they're at with Jameus Winston at this point along with us being on quarterback trade watch as all the national insiders have been talking
94:01about that all day on Sunday. Uh but on the Titans end like Hayden Brian Burns plays in this game but he exits in a lot of pain. It kind
94:12of sounded like some of their big time defensive players didn't make that big of an impact. And yet here we are with
94:17Cam Ward on 36 attempts just getting 181 yards and with a couple minutes to go has a chance of outright winning this
94:27game and throws a laxidasical interception on first down in the red zone despite having multiple timeouts and the game is over and that's it.
94:37It's almost time, man. Like, it's it's almost time to do a Bryce Young and sitting down for for a little bit. And
94:42it's almost time beyond that for the Tennessee Titans to like really start looking at this incoming quarterback class. Like, it's just too many too many
94:49of those same mistakes. They couldn't run the ball. Obviously, they've never been able to run the ball. But beyond that, like just the Cam Ward, like he's
94:57so laxidasical back there, like and he's not accurate enough. He's still throwing the ball right at defenders. Uh he went to the podium after that game on that
95:06brutal interception and he said like he wasn't fooled like he just like did not throw it with enough height and I'm like
95:12>> they said it was a good throw. He just needed to get it up a little bit. Okay.
95:15>> I mean yeah it does need to get it up a little bit. Your numbers got to get up a little bit or you're going to go to the
95:20bench. And here's the problem with the Tennessee Titans right now is the next two games they're in Baltimore against the Ravens with Jesse Mter who throw a
95:28bunch of curve balls at you defensively with aliens back there in the secondary and then you get the Houston Texans and
95:33those tackles are not going to be able to survive. So, like it's only going to get worse for Cam Ward these next two
95:38weeks most likely. And we're getting very close to the point where like should they bench him now to avoid those games or should they get through those
95:45next couple games and then Titans fans and the Titans organization are like ready to turn the page completely on Cam War. There's just like not been nearly
95:53enough good to overcome like which is like every single week way way way too much bad.
96:00I I have been talked about on X as being this big- time Cam Ward hater, but I'll just say this. There was some really
96:06concerning stuff that I heard from him coming into the season. I'm watching that show quarterback and he talked about midway through the year last year.
96:15He had to go back to his, you know, quarterback training coach because he knew his mechanics were off and he was
96:21lazy in the pocket. And then he also talked about never having to study film until he got to the University of Miami.
96:28He said he didn't do it at Incarnate Word. He didn't do it at Washington State. He he just the first time that he
96:34watched quarterback film was in his final season at college at the University of Miami. And I'm watching that play and people are like, "Oh, look
96:41at his aura in the pocket where he just kind of stopped moving and stood there and and threw the ball. It was
96:48everything about how he's playing right now just does not scream um long-term NFL starter. It does not give you confidence in them or that team. You
96:57look at the stat line, Tate was fine. I guess Wandell Robinson scored. What I heard and and read a lot, Josh and
97:03Hayden, was Naji Harris didn't look bad running the ball in this one. What you do with that information, I do not know.
97:10Um, but Jameus Winston released a commercial yesterday uh with him grabbing crab legs. And I'm thinking to myself, I know it was filmed before yesterday,
97:21but I didn't feel good about Jameus Winston before the game. I don't feel good about Jameus Winston in the offense after the game. I don't want any part of
97:29Malik Neighbors. I don't want any part of Isaiah likely. They need to find somebody else pronto or maybe it's just like how can you feel good about
97:38anything in New York? Malik Neighbors included.
97:41>> Yeah. I mean the Isaiah likely week one stuff is like way behind us at this point. I feel like there's a lot of
97:48those week one performances that look a bit different after after week three.
97:52Um, they do have the Cardinals next week. Again, this is this stanza of the season for the Giants where they should win games, Cardinals
98:02commanders over the next two weeks. But how do you win those games? Is it going to be yards? Is it going to be points?
98:08Or is it again going to be ball control and we win defensively and we win the margins? Kind of like this one. I can't
98:13remember who said it, either Cam Scataboo or Javon Holland. Someone said, "Hey, if this was us last year, we would have lost this game, but we won it." Uh,
98:22and I think that was a direct shot at the offensive coordinator on the opposite sideline and Brian Day.
98:28>> Yeah, there's a lot of overlap in this game. I will say this, um, >> Devin Singleary was a healthy scratch in
98:33this one and that is pretty helpful for Cam Scatter. Like the fact that he was like the leading receiver in this one is
98:38like that's that's pretty promising because after week one, he wasn't pretty much involved in that capacity at all.
98:43And that's his backto-back games where he's at least catching three plus passes. So, um maybe we'll go back and watch his game and it was like just like
98:50too much of a rainstorm or whatever. I know there's just some rain in the forecast, but >> to your point, Ry,
98:56>> uh the Cam Ward and and Jameus Winston like there's a little bit too like unseriousness for like what we're expecting out of starting quarterbacks
99:04at this point. And I think the results are speaking for themselves.
99:08>> All right, that's going to do it. Again, the games we didn't really dive into circle back here during stats versus
99:14film on Tuesday. We'll have watched all of those, that's for sure. Along with Matt Harmon joining us on that episode and again, keep in mind Monday Night
99:22Football as soon as it hits triple zeros, we'll have the week four waiverwire on the channel for all of you. Uh, lots to dive into because of
99:30all these injuries and we're going to spend all day tomorrow looking into it and recording so we get it right for all
99:36of you. Ray, thanks so much. Hayden, you as well. production behind the scenes.
99:40Shout out to all of you for watching.
99:43We'll see you next time.
