0:00This is an iHeart Podcast. Guaranteed Human. After getting carted off on Sunday, is Caleb Williams guaranteed to miss next Monday?
0:07We have the latest on the most important hamstring in Chicago.
0:11If week one was all about the offense and the scoring, week two was all about the amazing and the defense?
0:17What? We have the top plays from 10 hours of madness on Sunday.
0:22And look who's back on the field at SoFi.
0:25It's the return of a Hall of Famer. And the return of the NFL: The Insiders.
0:30It's next. I guarantee you there's no lightning, no weather delay in this show.
0:35Welcome to the NFL: The Insiders, everybody. Hope you enjoyed Sunday of week two across the street.
0:40They're about to kick off on the final game.
0:43We'll tell you who's in and who's out. A couple of very big names.
0:48We're presented by Nationwide. Scott Hanson's coming up shortly with his plays of the week.
0:53I am Andrew Siciliano. Let's tell you what's news to me.
0:56Let's get our headlines in here. Somewhat encouraging. Those are the words that Ben Johnson used.
1:02That's how we described Caleb Williams. Caleb Williams MRI today after Sunday's hamstring injury that silenced Soldier Field.
1:08Johnson says it is a week-to-week injury, which again is encouraging.
1:11And Williams has extra time this week because the Bears play Monday night at home against the Eagles.
1:17He's right now working through every avenue that he's got available to get back on track here.
1:23So we'll see what that looks like. Here's what I know.
1:26This guy's a little bit different than the average human being.
1:30I said that last night. I'll double down on that.
1:33He gets back. He has in the past a lot faster than what people can anticipate.
1:38And so I'm not putting a timeline on this.
1:41We're going to say week-to-week. He's going to attack this with everything that he knows.
1:46He's got a great team around him, both in this building and outside of this building.
1:52And we'll see where it goes from there. Ben, just to clarify, will Caleb practice this week?
1:57I don't believe he will. Okay. So are you ruling him out now for week three?
2:03Are you saying that there's still a chance towards the end of the week?
2:07I did not do that. No. Okay. Okay. If he can't go, then Tyson Bajant goes.
2:12Yesterday, the Bears lost to the Vikings. That was Carson Wentz at quarterback.
2:17Kevin O'Connell says that Kyler Murray is back. He has cleared concussion protocol.
2:21And Kyler is going to go when the 2-0 Vikings visit the 0-2 Buccaneers Sunday at Raymond James.
2:27Meantime, Jaden Daniels is going to be out this week and maybe longer.
2:31Don't know how much longer, but it is another dislocated elbow.
2:35Happened Sunday in Dallas. It's the same injury as last year.
2:38The Commanders host the Seahawks this week. He had imaging done today.
2:42He'll see specialists early this week, Tuesday and Wednesday.
2:45And then we'll go through the process from there.
2:48I know you'll have some questions regarding timelines, but until we go through that process, I'd be guessing to give you any.
2:56We will start Marcus on Sunday, and there's nobody easier to rally around than him.
3:00Okay. Michael Penix is back. Falcons are bad. They're 0-2.
3:04They get primetime the next three weeks, but they made it official today, this afternoon, which is surprising for a Kevin Stefanski
3:11team that Penix will make his debut Thursday when the Falcons visit the Packers on TNF.
3:16After that, they go Monday and Sunday night. Thursday, Monday, Sunday.
3:20Long, long list of injuries. Waiting for news on Saquon Barkley.
3:24It was a stinger. He wasn't able to finish the Eagles' victory in Tennessee.
3:28David Njoku is going on IR. Charlie Kohler not listed on this as well.
3:33Two Charger tight ends going on injured reserve today as the Chargers fall to 0-2.
3:38We'll show you those highlights coming up a little bit later.
3:41The beat title will show you these highlights. These are the Saints, and these are the Ravens.
3:47And, wow, the Saints won in Baltimore. They're down 8 fourth quarter.
3:51When Tyler Shuck hits Chris Olave, he gets to dance, and everybody is happy.
3:56Again, the Ravens had a lead. This is a theme.
3:59They blow leads, whether it's under Harbaugh or Jesse Minner.
4:02And this time they blew it with a Tyler Shuck fourth and one touchdown.
4:07The Saints thought he got in on third down.
4:10The Ravens didn't think he got in on fourth down.
4:13It didn't matter. They called it a touchdown, and they couldn't overturn it.
4:17There was no evidence. But there is evidence that Lamar got picked off to end the game.
4:23Wanted Rashad Bateman? Got picked off, and that is it.
4:26The Saints go into Baltimore, and they win. They win and stun, just stun the Ravens.
4:31How about the Cincinnati highlights? We've got the Bengals in Houston.
4:35Joe Burrow is back. Joe Burrow and the Bengals have a defense now as well, which is a massive, massive, massive part of their early season.
4:44Look at this catch. Scott, I'll tell you right now, it's on Scott's top three plays of the week because what Jamar
4:51Chase does here is, I don't know. I thought it was AI.
4:55It's otherworldly. They're up 10-3, and the Texans' defense is a bit of an issue.
5:00I mean, you face Josh Allen, you face Joe Burrow.
5:03I realize it's not fair, but you didn't really stop either.
5:07Jamar Chase gets two touchdowns, shuts up all the fantasy doubters, and the Bengals get a massive, massive victory.
5:1356 career touchdowns, the most since 2021. Just leapfrogged Devontae Adams.
5:17He had seven catches for 75 yards, two touchdowns.
5:19Jamar Chase, where are you at? Who that? Who that?
5:23Who that think gonna beat them Bengals? Who that?
5:26Who that? Who that think gonna beat them Bengals?
5:29No! Bengals go to Pittsburgh next week. We go to SoFi now.
5:33Puka Nakua is out. He missed a game last year.
5:36He missed six games in 2024, and he is inactive today with a groin injury.
5:41The Rams, back from Australia, try to even their record.
5:44They get the Giants. Look who is up. Aaron Donald is back.
5:48The future Hall of Famer out of retirement is going to be in uniform and play a game, Bucky Brooks, for the
5:55first time in 981 days, if you are counting at home.
5:59What is reasonable and fair to expect from a guy that hasn't played in nearly 1,000 days?
6:05Oh, Andrew, this reminds me of my NBA days when I used to watch Michael Jordan, and he came back wearing the 45.
6:12After a 17-month layoff, he came back and had 19-6-6.
6:15Now he was 7 for 28, and it didn't look great, and they lost, but he came back.
6:21And so I think Aaron Donald is going to provide some of that.
6:26He's going to show you flashes of what has made him a three-time defensive player of the year, but it's still going
6:33to take him ready to get in game reps.
6:36And I've seen that a pitch count is probably about 30 plays.
6:40I just think, given a two-year layoff at his age, it's going to be a slow burn before he's able to be an impact player.
6:48But I think he will flash on occasion, but I don't think he's going to take over the game right away in his first game back.
6:57Yeah, for the record, when Jordan came back, the Bulls did go to the playoffs, and they were one and done.
7:04Now, granted, the next year they started another three-peat, but they were one and done that year.
7:09All right, the Giants are 1-0. They stunned the Cowboys last Sunday night.
7:13Everybody is happy. Now they've got to come out here.
7:17They've got to face the Rams as the Rams look for a bounce back.
7:21What is the recipe for an upset tonight for the Giants?
7:25Oh, they've got to beat them up. They've got to beat them up at the line of scrimmage, and that front line
7:32has to dominate like they did against the Dallas Cowboys.
7:36And when I mean that front line, Brian Burrs, Kayvon Thibodeau, Abdul Carter, Arville Reese, they have to make their presence feel early and often.
7:44Here's what we know about the Giants. When the Giants play great defense, it allows them to get into that complimentary football
7:51game plan that they want to do. They want to play great defense.
7:55They want to run the ball. They want to shorten it.
7:59They want to shrink it. And they want to find a way to win the game in the last five minutes.
8:06But to do that, they've got to stop the run early, and then they're going to have to knock the reigning MVP around.
8:13John Harbaugh has his work cut out for him.
8:16But, man, he has the tools to make this thing happen tonight.
8:20The second consecutive year, the Rams host break the fast.
8:24Last year, they lost on Thursday night football to the 49ers.
8:27Tonight, it is the 1-0 Giants. Bucky Brooks, Mike Yam right here.
8:31NFL Channel, NFL Game Day Preview after this show.
8:34Thank you, Bucky. Stay tuned afterwards for Bucky and Yammer.
8:37Let's get back to the highlights here. If we couldn't show you what happened in Arizona, the Seahawks coming in well-rested 1-0.
8:45The Cardinals 1-0 as well. No Sam Darnold, but can I interest you in Drew Locke to JSN?
8:51That's an 82-yard touchdown. He had three touchdowns on the day.
8:54And with Darnold, maybe, and I'm saying maybe, back next week, Drew Locke did the job, and they held down the fort.
9:0112 consecutive victories. JSN again here. 12 consecutive victories for the Seahawks, dating back to last year, and they've beaten the Cardinals now 10 straight.
9:10Arizona hasn't beaten its division foe since Colt McCoy was quarterback back in 2021.
9:14Mike McDonald on the podium moments ago said Darnold could be back to practice this week in some capacity.
9:21And then he said, we will go from there.
9:24The Seahawks will go to Washington, as mentioned. They'll play the Commanders in our nation's capital.
9:29Let's do the highlights in Tennessee where it was hot.
9:32I mean, 106 degrees with a heat index. Pick it up here in the third quarter.
9:37A minute to go. This game is far closer than anyone thought it would be when Cam Ward tiptoes into the end
9:45zone, and we are tied late in the third.
9:48Fast forward, end of the game. Final minute. Again, look at the clock.
9:52Jalen Hurts, who had thrown two picks on the day, patiently.
9:56In the back of the end zone finds Darius Cooper.
9:59First career touchdown of the Eagles. Without Saquon Barkley for much of this game, get out of Tennessee with a victory to go to 2-0.
10:07The young folks said this week that they wanted to make you play quarterback.
10:12Is that a comment that you heard, that mattered to you, and I didn't think you responded to that.
10:18Heard it. And did it matter to you? Heard it.
10:21I didn't think you responded. That blew one. Jeffrey Simmons comes through, make a big play, forces an interception.
10:27I got a ton of respect for him. He's a hell of a football player.
10:32And then, you know, he's able to flush it.
10:35Jalen's able to flush it and lead us down the field in a critical situation.
10:40And, yeah, just proud of the way he played and the way he had his resolve.
10:46But that's who he is, right? That doesn't surprise me.
10:49Spoke of the injuries to Saquon. There's also an injury to Dallas Goddard.
10:53He's got an MCL. He's going to be out a while.
10:57So look who's back. Zach Ertz, who dabbled in broadcasting, thought of hanging it up.
11:02He is back, not only in the NFL, but back with the Eagles to hold down the fort until Dallas Goddard is back.
11:09We are back with more highlights. Let's get to MetLife Stadium.
11:13Packers and the Jets. The Jets had a huge lead.
11:16The Jets could not hold on to that lead.
11:19They're up 17-7 in the fourth quarter. When Jordan Love hits Christian Watson and we have a game, we would eventually go to overtime.
11:27Aaron Glenn could have mismanaged the end of the fourth quarter.
11:31Yes, I know. They took the ball to start overtime, and then Geno Smith got sacked on back-to-back plays.
11:37And then eventually, the Packers kind of, sort of, were gifted this one.
11:41And Trey Smack, Trey Smack, that's a real name, ended it in overtime.
11:46And these two teams are 1-1. What could have been for the Jets, but they gave it away, and the Packers will happily take it.
11:54All right, let's get to Tampa. I was there for this one.
11:58Todd Munkin to Sean Watson in the Baker Bowl, a Baker-Mayfield revenge game.
12:02Not the first time he's faced his former team.
12:05Happened in 22, but this one meant more seemingly.
12:08But the Browns are hanging around. And Blake Whitehart gets a touchdown with four minutes to go, and the Browns have the lead.
12:15But then we had a weather delay. A weather delay of over two hours.
12:20And I almost missed my flight, but nobody cares about that.
12:24But they finally got back after the lightning cleared, and the Bucs were on the 28, and the Bucs had four plays to get in the end zone.
12:33And it didn't happen. The Browns held on. Deshaun Watson won a game for the first time in two years.
12:40Baker is 0-2 against the Browns. And yes, the Browns are the Browns, and the Browns are winners.
12:45Browns are going to Browns. F*** that. Okay? So, the guys took that to heart.
12:50Thank you. That was a message to Mike Tomlin.
12:53Speaking of Mike Tomlin, without him, the Steelers were in Foxborough to face Drake May and the defending AFC champion Steelers with
13:01a win over the Falcons a week ago. But the Falcons are bad, and the Patriots are slightly different.
13:07And this is Travion Henderson, who missed the opener against the Seahawks.
13:11He gets a 39-yard touchdown. And honestly, that's really all the Patriots needed because Pittsburgh's offense is just, what's the word?
13:18Adrian in research, what's the word? It's awful. The Steelers have one touchdown in 25 possessions through two games.
13:24This is a sack of Aaron Rodgers, and Elijah ponder, scoop, and score.
13:28And afterwards, Rodgers says, I will take the blame.
13:31I have to be better telling other people to be better.
13:35In a game like today where there wasn't a lot of flow to it, we need to be better.
13:41And it starts with me. We need to be better at making sure Mike knows what's working, what's not working, our coaches know.
13:49And so we can call stuff that we feel like has a better chance.
13:53New level of passive-aggressive. I got to be better telling other people that they need to be better.
13:59Okay. Drew Locke. Going deep down the middle. Towards the sideline, it's a jigma.
14:04Jackson, Smith, and jigma will take it down the sideline.
14:07And that is a Seahawks touchdown. He's the one dude you've got to cover.
14:12He's so damn dynamic. He's incredible. And you're just going to let him run right through your secondary?
14:18That's a mistake that will cost you a football game.
14:21Also, what was great about that, too? The head fake from JSN.
14:25This is not a head fake. This is actually Scott Henson.
14:29Yeah. Like, you looked the wrong way. I'm going this way.
14:32And then JSN is still running. What a day yesterday.
14:35Oh, yeah. You kind of, not that week one's always a liar, but week two kind of settles things.
14:42It kind of brings it back to earth. A little bit.
14:45With defense. All of a sudden, wait, wait. There's defense here.
14:49And Scott, obviously, and you with Scott, had red zone all day long.
14:53You want to give me your top plays? Yeah, we got a few plays that we picked out here.
15:00On red zone, we show anywhere from 1,000 to 2,000 plays, something like that, across all these NFL games.
15:06We'll start with defense for you. See, there you go.
15:09I'm number three here. Let's go to the Carolina Panthers.
15:12You know, in the offseason, everyone wonders who wins the offseason Super Bowl and whatnot.
15:17There was an acquisition of a linebacker by the name of Devin Lloyd, who is probably maybe the best pass-defending inside linebacker ever in his generation, perhaps.
15:26This pickoff, one-handed stab, the stiff arm angry. He won't win the 40-yard dash at the combine anytime soon on the return, but what a play.
15:35And what a reversal for the Panthers after giving up 59 points in week number one.
15:40The Eagles had slightly more trouble in Tennessee than we thought.
15:44Slightly more trouble, 150 degrees or whatever they say it was on the field there.
15:49The shoes were melting. The cleats were melting. They were hosing down the cleats and whatnot.
15:54But when it came down to crunch time at the very end, the man who was required to step up this year in the absence of A.J.
16:03Brown stepped up right here. Stepped up and stepped down.
16:06I don't know how Devontae Smith kept both feet inbounds in between two Tennessee defenders.
16:11This is third down. They're only up by three.
16:14So if this thing goes incomplete, they've got to kick the field goal and then go to overtime.
16:20But he gets one. He gets two down just before the hand.
16:24Makes the play that ultimately leads to the game-winning touchdown.
16:27Devontae Smith, 10 catches, 117 yards, and a touchdown earlier in the day.
16:31Wide receiver one in Philadelphia? I think we got that on lockdown now.
16:36Yeah, absolutely. So that was amazing. But wide receiver one maybe in the entire NFL is Jamar Chase.
16:42When I was watching this, I was at the Browns-Buccaneers game.
16:45We saw this corner of the screen. We had it up on monitor in the booth.
16:51When I saw it, I didn't think it was real.
16:54It almost looked like it was AI. I was almost going to say the same exact thing.
16:59You know that meme or whatever that little stunt is?
17:03It doesn't look real. His left foot does one of those air walk things that the teenagers are doing on social media.
17:10Because it's going out of bounds, and he pulls it back inbounds.
17:14Look, there was so much about this. He's going against Derek Stingley Jr., one of the excellent corners in the game.
17:21He pushes off. They tangle their feet at the nine-yard line.
17:24Most receivers fall down at that point. He didn't fall down.
17:28He gets his head back around, finds the football, makes the grab.
17:32That was a 40-yard pass in the air as well that had some pace on it, taking him out of bounds.
17:39If we do this in January, and you asked me for top three plays, number one from week two might be number one of 2026.
17:47It's probably the leader in the clubhouse at this point, to the point where Joe Burrow said afterwards, when the ball's in
17:54the air, he's about to argue for pass interference.
17:57Nice. Because there's no way that Jamar Chase is going to catch the ball.
18:02Yeah. He's beginning to argue, and then it's like, oh, he caught the ball.
18:07Can I add one more? Lay it on me.
18:10Okay. Can we do Cody White's first touchdown? Oh, okay.
18:13Okay. Because this did not – there's no way Cody White's coming back for that ball.
18:18So good. So good. Bang. I just had to work the Raiders into the show because I don't know how the Chargers are 0-2.
18:26That's a different story for a different time. We'll get to that in the C-block, TV term C-block of the show.
18:33But Scott Hansen's got his three best plays, and I just said, hey, can we work Cody White somewhere into the show?
18:40He worked himself into the show with that type of play right there.
18:44And the Chargers, oh, boy, have fun talking about them later.
18:48Yeesh. There's a bit of history which we'll bring to you coming up shortly.
18:53Scott Hansen, Red Zone every Sunday, Sunday, Sunday right here.
18:56And, oh, by the way, you can get it with NFL Plus.

19:16Terms and conditions apply. Of course they do. I promise we'll show you the Charger highlights.
19:21I want to show you the Jaguars and the Broncos first.
19:25Both these teams now 1-1. Surprisingly, how everything kind of evens its way out in week number two.
19:31This is a Riley Moss interception with the Jaguars driving late in the third quarter.
19:36They were up at that point. If they had punched it in, it's a different game.
19:41But it wasn't because here comes 17 straight points for the Broncos.
19:45Bo Nix to Nate Adkins. Jalen Waddell goes over 100.
19:48Jonah Coleman gets in the end zone. All of a sudden, everything, everything seems right once again for the Broncos.
19:55They remembered how to tackle as well. Funny how things change week number two.
20:00But the story with the Chargers is that they didn't change week number two.
20:04Again, they have a team coming into town. In this case, it's the Raiders and Kirk Cousins that won only three games a year ago.
20:12Last week, it was the Cardinals. They lost to the Cardinals 26-14.
20:16What if I told you they would lose again to the Raiders by the same score of 26-14?
20:22Here's the first Cody White touchdown. We showed you the other one earlier.
20:27And then how about two interceptions for the fifth-round rookie out of Cal?
20:31Hezekiah Masses. Hezekiah Masses with two interceptions of Justin Herbert.
20:34And, yeah, what's with the long face? They lose again.
20:37Great game. Truly great game on Sunday night in Kansas City.
20:41Pick it up with a Jonathan Taylor touchdown to tie this game.
20:45Look at the clock here. Late in the fourth quarter, Taylor had another great game.
20:50He had two touchdowns. Didn't get 100 yards. But he's a massive factor in this game.
20:55We go to overtime. After both teams had kicked field goals, there's still time for Mahomes to hit Kenneth Walker.
21:02He had 117 on the ground, by the way.
21:05And still time for a Harrison Butker game-winning field goal.
21:08The Chiefs are 2-0 because, of course, they are.
21:11It took everybody. You know, like, if you ask anybody in the locker room, they probably said we could have played better
21:18on this side or done better at this thing.
21:21The defense stepped up when they needed to step up and made stops or held them to field goals.
21:28The offense, we put together drives and we needed to put together drives to get field goals and to get touchdowns.
21:34And special teams, Harrison, I mean, obviously, he had to miss early, but then he comes back and bangs all these field goals in these high-leverage situations.
21:43And that's why we have him in that situation.
21:46And so it took everybody on the entire team to win that football game, and you want that.
21:52You want those challenges because that's going to prep you for the rest of the season.
21:57Three on Patrick Mahomes' chest. They could be 3-0 next week.
22:01They go to Miami. Got a really, really good Monday night.
22:05I came here to wrap up week number two.
22:08It is right across the street from where we now stand.
22:11That is Jackson Dart warming up at SoFi. Giants one week one.
22:15They won on a Sunday night. Now they're in L.A.
22:19to face a well-rested, you would hope, Devontae Adams and the Rams, who got back with the date change last Friday, believe it or not, from Australia.
22:27Puka Nakua was on that plane, but he's not going to be on that field tonight.
22:33Nakua is officially inactive. He has a groin injury.
22:36He kind of flared up in practice last week.
22:39Puka Nakua is not going to play, but Aaron Donald is active.
22:43Mike Garofalo, friend of the program, says look for roughly 30 snaps for the future Hall of Famer back on the field
22:50for the first time in a game since the Rams' playoff loss to the Lions in Detroit in January of 2024.
22:57Let's get some quick hits and tip of the cap to one Dak Prescott, who passed Tony Romo yesterday for the most
23:04touchdown passes in Cowboys history with this lob to the end zone to C.D.
23:09Lamb. 249 career touchdown passes for Dak Prescott, a new franchise record.
23:13Bad news out of New Orleans. Kelvin Banks, left tackle, former Longhorn, a severe high ankle sprain, according to Ian Rappaport, needs surgery.
23:20He's going to be out a while. He is out indefinitely.
23:24Aseem Richards filled in. Oh, no big deal. They just get Max Crosby and the Raiders this week.
23:30Derwin Jones says he injured a pinky finger left hand.
23:33Derwin James, I beg your pardon, and he's going to have to play the rest of the season in a cast.
23:40Not bad in run support. Bad if you're trying to intercept passes when one of your hands is in a cast.
23:47All right, time for one more thing before we go.
23:50I mentioned the historical context of the 0-2. This is from Optistats.
23:54Used to be known as Stats Inc. You remember them.
23:57The Chargers are the second team in NFL history to lose back-to-back games by double digits where both of those losses were
24:05against teams that last season had a sub-200 winning percentage.
24:08So both the Raiders and the Cardinals won three games a year ago.
24:12The other team that did it, the 1926 Racine Tornadoes.
24:16That was a team, at least for one more week, because after the Racine Tornadoes lost those two games, they folded a week later.
24:23We're folding for now. We're back tomorrow, Tuesday, 7 p.m.
24:27Eastern time. My name is Andrew Siciliano. So long, everybody.
