2:34Is it week two already? It is! Coming up on the NFL Report, any and everything you need to know about Josh
2:41Allen and Jared Goff in what could be a shootout at the brand new Highmark Stadium.
2:46Are the stats lying about the Steelers' offense? Or was it really that bad week one?
2:51Plan Zerline is here for that. That's coming up.
2:54Plus, Bourne in the desert. Kendrick Bourne joins us after the Cardinals' shocking week one win.
2:59It is the NFL Report, and it's coming up next.
3:02Yes, it is week two. That was not a rhetorical question.
3:05And welcome to a Thursday edition of the NFL Report on the NFL Channel.
3:10My name is Andrew Siciliano. We are presented to you by Nationwide.
3:13A late scratch and a big one on that Bills defense.
3:17The inactives and the actives for that matter coming up shortly.
3:20Lance Zerline is here. Let's get the headlines out of the way.
3:24What is news to me? That's how we start this show today.
3:28We started actually in Cincinnati with an update on Joe Burrow.
3:31For the second consecutive day in Cincinnati, Burrow was on the practice field.
3:35But for the second consecutive day, Burrow was limited, that's the official designation, with a back injury.
3:41Burrow says he is going to play Sunday. And for that matter, Jamar Chase is going to play too.
3:47He's definitely playing. Fundamentally solid at the end of the day.
3:50You know what I'm saying? They play very good.
3:53Fundamental defense. Keep everything in front of them. They got good corners.
3:57Cut up front. The linebackers are good. They just a well-rounded team at the end of the day.
4:02Should I go against Stingley? All the time. The practice tapes of you and Stingley from LSU are fairly famous.
4:08It looked like I'm getting killed on every video.
4:11I don't like that. What do you remember about those?
4:14Do you remember that? I'm pretty sure that was Stingley's footage of him putting it out against me.
4:20Yeah. Right? Because I remember when I was going to the lead, I'd never get him telling me this.
4:26He was like, he was like, man, I don't like the fact that you posted all those clips and you killing me on Snapchat, bro.
4:34And I was like, yeah, when I got to the league, I had to post my own.
4:39I was like, it's fine, bro. I'm not. Jamar had only two catches last week.
4:44They won though. They beat the Buccaneers. They're going up in weight class in terms of the defense they're facing this week.
4:51They're facing the Texans, but Lance Zerline, who, oh, by the way, is in Houston.
4:55Lance, good to see you, sir. As you saw there, the Texans defense wasn't necessarily what we thought it would be week
5:02one against a very, very good offense, obviously coming in there in the bills.
5:07If they don't put pressure on Joe Burrow, does it matter that he has a bad back?
5:12Well, I mean, it's going to be tough because it's a fair fight when you look at wide receivers versus cornerbacks.
5:18I mean, Stingley and Lasseter are outstanding cornerbacks for the Houston Texans.
5:22But Kamar Lasseter really struggled last week. New safety.
5:25Their brand new safety. Reid Blankenship really struggled as well from a coverage standpoint.
5:29And if you give Joe Burrow time to throw, I promise you he's not going to have seven, you know, seven completions
5:36for 83 yards to Yoshivas, Chase, and Tee Higgins.
5:39That's not happening for a second game in a row if you don't pressure him.
5:44The Texans have got to get pressure off the edge from Hunter and obviously also Will Anderson, Jr.
5:49And, you know, something we have to keep an eye on here.
5:53Dawson, or rather, Dalton Kincaid went five catches for 130 yards last week against the Texans.
5:58Mike Isicki was the leading receiver, the tight end for the Cincinnati Bengals last week.
6:03That might be a position to keep an eye on in the matchup between this outstanding Texans defense that really didn't show
6:10up last week and the always dangerous Joe Burrow-led offense.
6:13Yeah. Look, last week or last year rather was something with the offense and Nick Haley.
6:18But if they lose here, if the Texans lose here to the Bengals, they are 0-2 under D'Amico Ryans for the third time in four years.
6:26Lance coming right back. We'll do Thursday Night Football.
6:29Don't go anywhere. Let's get back to some more headlines though from around the NFL.
6:33And we'll go to Pittsburgh. What's going on with Joey Porter Jr.?
6:37That's the question. Yesterday, he was limited with what the Steelers say was conditioning.
6:41They're trying to ramp him back up after the hold-in.
6:45Today, after Porter left practice early with trainers, the team now says that he is limited with conditioning and a back.
6:51So now the back is back offensively. Look, the Steelers won to beat the Falcons, but they were not good week one.
6:58In terms of EPA expected points added, rather a nerd number speak, Andrew.
7:02They were the third worst offense in the NFL week one.
7:06Granted, D.K. Metcalf had two huge drops. Oh no, I'm not worried about D.K.
7:10at all, man. I love D.K. He's one of my closest friends on the team and I'm going to keep feeding him.
7:17Yeah, the consistency and the balance stuff is all for, you know, talking head fodder.
7:21It's all about winning the game, whether you got to throw it 40 times or run it 40 times.
7:27So I'm not worried about the balance. Balance comes naturally.
7:31If you're getting a chance to be ahead of teams, you're going to get more run opportunities.
7:36If you don't have five, three and outs, you get more run opportunities too.
7:40So I'm not worried about that. Talking head fodder, Lance Zerline.
7:44He's kind of right. If you have D.K. catch those two passes, take away the drops, the numbers would look a lot different.
7:51But if you're an EPA guy, Lance, I know you are.
7:54Third worst offense in the NFL. They get the Patriots in Foxborough.
7:58Should we be concerned? I'd be concerned. I think when you look at Aaron Rodgers, who I believe is the greatest thrower
8:05of the football I've ever seen when it comes to just pure, you know, arm talent and ability as a passer.
8:11He went from averaging 7.71 yards per attempt with the Green Bay Packers.
8:16Since then, he's down to 6.63. That's a decrease of over a yard per attempt.
8:20And the reason's simple. He just doesn't go down the field with the same level of success, gets rid of it much quicker.
8:27I don't think he wants to take a lot of hits in the pocket, which is understandable.
8:33But that takes away, you know, some of the best parts of D.K.
8:37Metcalf's route tree is getting vertical. So I'm not sure this is just a great fit between what Aaron Rodgers is now and what D.K.
8:45Metcalf is as a wide receiver. I think Jeremy Bernard, the rookie, may have to become a little bit more involved, certainly.
8:51Clearly, I think that you can find the control passing game underneath.
8:55But when you look at the, I think, success here, Andrew, is going to have to look like Drew Brees, like Peyton Manning.
9:02I mean, these are guys when they hit the 40 year mark, even Tom Brady, it's a lot of underneath stuff.
9:09And you just simply don't throw down the field as much anymore.
9:13Yeah. Rogers is risk averse. Let's face it. And he has been for a couple of years.
9:18It's a lot of back shoulders. It's a lot of fades.
9:21It's a lot of, hey, if I don't trust you, I am not throwing you the football and this team is going to win with defense.
9:30They have the highest price defense in the NFL.
9:32And that was the case. They won with defense.
9:35They beat the Falcons and Atlanta was horrible. It's a little bit different when you get a well rested Patriots team.
9:42Lance TNF coming up. I promise in the meantime, let's do Atlanta.
9:46I'm telling you there is a chance. There is a chance of Michael Penix is the Falcon starting quarterback this week.
9:52They get the pay of the Saints coming to town or I'm sorry.
9:56The Panthers coming to town. Pan Panics was a full participant Thursday.
10:00So was Cooper Rush. Tua, by the way, didn't practice.
10:03We're working. We're working. I'm close. I'm close. I know I've been saying that, but it's just a couple of technical things that I want to hit.
10:11Some goals that I have, you know, that I want to achieve before, you know, I do step foot out on that field.
10:19But, you know, I do feel really good and we're taking strides each and every day.
10:24Remember, Panics coming back from another ACL. So he's been down this road before.
10:28Let's get TNF for you now. Highmark Stadium. They played the preseason there.
10:32Now this is the big regular season rollout. And these two quarterbacks have lit up the scoreboard when last they faced each other.
10:39That's Jared Goff. You saw Josh Allen when last they faced each other.
10:43The score of the total was 92 years ago.
10:46Late scratch. No Ed Oliver hip injury. He's out.
10:49It happened during warm ups. Ed Oliver is out.
10:52T.J. Sanders is out on that D line for the bills on the offensive line.
10:56Blake Miller and Christian Mahogany. Lance Erline, two starting offensive linemen are out here for the Lions.
11:02The Lions, oh, by the way, barely hung on and barely one week one they beat the Saints.
11:07This is a primetime preview presented by Nationwide. You think the Lions are in trouble tonight?
11:12I think they're in a lot of trouble. When you look at this, of course, you know, any given in this case, any given Thursday, anything can happen.
11:21But let's be honest. That was it. That was a secondary that really struggled against Tyler Shuck through for 410 yards and three touchdowns.
11:29Now they're going against Josh Allen and maybe as importantly, Joe Brady, who now has found a 13 personnel group in the
11:35three tight end personnel group and used it 38.5% of the time against the Texans with a lot of success.
11:42Now, I don't think we'll see it as much in this game because I think they put it in there for the
11:49Texans to slow down the pass rush a little bit.
11:52But what we do see on the field is that DJ Moore's made a huge impact and now they can go to
11:5911, 12 and 13 personnel at any point. They're going to be very unpredictable.
12:03And Josh Allen was that guy last game. He beat the Texans with great throw after great throw.
12:09And I love the way he saw the field as well, Andrew.
12:12I think the way he's seen the field in the first game against the defense like the Texans.
12:18Whoo. That is bad news for the Lions. Lance, what a tap to base on that at Oliver inactive.
12:24That's a late scratch. Again, it happened during warmups.
12:27No TJ Sanders. We knew that one coming in down Walker, obviously kind of turning into a star had a great week
12:34one, but without those guys in the middle, is this a big Jameer Gibbs night?
12:38Well, it has to be. And I think that's one of the things you have to do is you have to keep the Buffalo offense off the field.
12:47The best way to do that run the ball control the clock.
12:51And I think Jameer Gibbs obviously will be it was a big big part of it last week.
12:56He's going to be a big part of it all year long, including tonight.
13:01Lance Zerline. We appreciate you, sir. Lance is coming back with some overreactions.
13:05What to believe, what not to believe from week number one.
13:08Believe this. Miles Garrett's officially on IR. He's not going to play Monday for the Rams.
13:13Knee surgery earlier this week. Aaron Donald though, Sean McVay says is on track to play.
13:18It's going to be up to Aaron Donald. As for Garrett, let's get back to him.
13:23Well, good. He's feeling good. You know, you already see, you know, he had crutches yesterday and then he was, you know, walking without crutches today.
13:31So he's like Wolverine healing fast. You know, I'm reluctant to put a timeline on it.
13:36You know, we've kind of talked about it, but you know, we know that he's going to miss, you know, those four weeks at a minimum.
13:45And we're not going to rush him back. We want to make sure that he's feeling good.
13:50He's able to get out on the practice field, do all the things that are necessary for him to perform at a level that he's been accustomed to.
13:59And so that'll be something that I'll kind of keep you guys posted as we have updates as we go.
14:05But he's got to miss a minimum of four games.
14:08That guy's not going to miss a game. We're going to hurry back.
14:12That is Kendrick Bourne waiting in the wings, waiting in Arizona.
14:15The Cardinals wide receiver. They're looking to go to 2-0 coming up on the NFL Report.
14:20I'm Brett Coleman. And I'm Trevor Sikama. Have you ever watched a game and wondered what really made the difference beyond the final score?
14:28That's exactly why we created NFL Pro. Throw, got a man wide open.

17:06Does fantasy dominance sound appealing to you? Listen to the NFL Fantasy Football Show on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
17:14You guys worked for this. You guys literally earned this win.
17:18You guys put in the work. And I appreciate you guys so much for believing in it and believing that the work works.
17:25Man, give it up for yourself. One more game ball.
17:28Mike LaFleur. Coach LaFleur. Yeah! Hey, I love you guys.
17:31You know that, man. Car John 3. One, two, three.
17:34Cause! Uh, yeah, like, yeah, Mike LaFleur. It was a love fest after the Cardinals beat the Chargers week one.
17:41This guy also a huge part of that. Eight catches, 75 yards, five first downs for Kendrick Bourne, who joins us now on the NFL Report.
17:49How you doing, Kendrick? I'm doing well, man. Thanks for having me.
17:53Hey, thanks for being here. How are things week two?
17:56I know you gotta move on. I know you gotta move on.
17:59But like the glow in Arizona after that week one.
18:03Yeah, it's amazing, man. Um, like Mike said, you know, all the hard work being put in, you know, we out here in the heat.
18:10So we've been, we've been going through it, man, just with that and, uh, just building this team.
18:16And so to be able to pull out that win, man, after all the work we've put in, new coaching staff, all the talk, you know.
18:24And, and just what the world is saying. Um, it feels good to get that first dub, man.
18:30And it was a team win. I mean, you mentioned the heat.
18:34It was hot as you know what there at SoFi.
18:37And that was a physical game, man. Yeah, it was definitely hot in there.
18:41It gets humid. I don't know if it's cause we're like deep in the ground or like whatever, but SoFi definitely gets some humidity, man.
18:49And so we seemed like we were ready for it, man, as a group.
18:53Um, even on defense, man, they showed out, um, just a overall team win, you know, the complimentary football and us being
19:00in shape plays a big part, you know, in the league.
19:04You want to, you want to be able to play four quarters with energy and effort, man.
19:09And I think we got good competitive stamina. All right.
19:12So the good news is you got to win, right?
19:15That's great. Week one, got to win. The bad news is you're not sneaking up on anyone.
19:20Now you get the defending world champions coming to town.
19:24You know, the last time you guys beat the Seahawks.
19:27Any idea? No, no. Come on. Give me, give me that answer.
19:30It is a 2021. It was a Russell Wilson Colt McCoy game.
19:34Colt McCoy was, was the Cardinals quarterback. What? All right.
19:37That's a good history lesson for me. You know, I'm the new Cardinal guy.
19:42So great history lesson, man. That gets me ready.
19:44So I appreciate that, Andrew. All right. So you're ready for the Seahawks and they no doubt will be ready for you.
19:51Here's another one. All right. You ready for this one?
19:54Yeah. The last 13 weeks going back to last year.
19:58Do you know who leads the NFL in passing?
20:00I do not. It's Jacoby Brissett. Tell me about your quarterback and what he's got going right now.
20:06Yeah. Jacoby, man. He's just been really poised, man.
20:09Throughout the whole process. Obviously we know he was in a contract dispute and for him to get that done and come in and played how he's played.
20:18It's just amazing. You know, it sucks. He made people think he's a little behind, but Jacoby knows how to play quarterback.
20:24He knows how to run a system and it shows, man.
20:28I have had a close relationship with Jacoby since our time in New England, man.
20:33And what he went through over there, not to go into pass, but it's just a little personal connection we have.
20:39I know he's been through adversity, seeing him through adversity and now in a position to be a starter.
20:45He's just carrying it well. You know, he's carrying that torch well, you know, working with the floor well and and it
20:52showed week one and that stat is even great.
20:55You just told me, Andrew, like him leading the league.
20:58It shows that he's capable. We threw the ball 40 times.
21:01So that was amazing. And to be able to play at that level, just being conditioned in different things, it says a lot about our quarterback.
21:09Well, Kendrick, let's talk about you because when Jacoby was on the podium today, somebody said to him and I wrote this down.
21:17I want to get it right. They said not many people had Kendrick born in fantasy again talking to him.
21:23And I felt like, well, I mean, if they paid attention, maybe they could have or maybe they should have.
21:29They probably had Michael Wilson. They probably had Marv, but you're going to be a huge part of this.
21:35How rewarding personally, like talk about yourself here, Kendrick.
21:38Was it to get those eight for 75? Yeah, it's great.
21:41It's great. It's a lot of hidden yardage, man.
21:44You know, that's been my game. You know, understanding zone, sitting in the right zones, being able to drop step, get yak.
21:51It makes it tough for a defense. So if I can catch a five yard pass and turn it into 11, it's really tricky.
21:58So now you kind of got to pick your poison.
22:02But I'm definitely a fantasy league sleeper. I don't want to gas myself up, but you know, I got a good relationship
22:08with Mike and you know, we've been on the same page for a while in my life and my career early in my career.
22:16So, you know, for the fantasy people out there.
22:19Hey, you got to make decisions. Some people may go down.
22:22So I might be that sleeper pick you can sneak in, but it feels good to help the team, man, and do the right thing, man.
22:30Just be an impact for the team. Full disclosure.
22:33It's not about me, but I did just pick you up.
22:37Okay. So I put you in the lineup. All right.
22:40Should, if I start you, I don't have Jeremiah Love.
22:43I might be going against Jeremiah Love. I hate to make this a fantasy thing, but we'll do it here.
22:49Should we start Jeremiah Love this week against the Seahawks defense?
22:53I believe so. I believe so. Okay. Tyler, I was here too.
22:56Got that heat too. So it's a one-two punch, but you just never know.
23:01We got so many weapons, man. So I think you should take every one of us on that offense because we got so many weapons.
23:08Like you just said, how I impact the game, how Jeremiah may, how T.A.
23:13may. So it's just, you got to pick your poison, but we're all definitely a group of guys that's going to benefit your fantasy.
23:20All right. Last thing here. You mentioned Mike LaFleur.
23:23You guys go back to San Francisco way back when he was your wide receiver coach.
23:28He's one of my favorite people in the league, not just because we're the same height.
23:33Somebody in your building told me that you, Kendrick, have like a different handshake for almost everybody in the building.
23:39Yeah? Correct. Okay. What's your Mike LaFleur handshake? Do you have one?
23:43Ooh. So that's a great question. I don't have a Mike LaFleur handshake.
23:47Why? I got a Nathaniel Hackett handshake, O.C., so that's good.
23:51Okay. But Mike LaFleur, what I try to do is find something in common.
23:55So me and Mike have to find something that we have in common.
23:59I don't know whether it's playing basketball or something.
24:02I don't know. He like hoops, so do a handshake, shoot a shot.
24:06I don't know. Still working on it. So that's a good challenge, bro.
24:10So I appreciate that. But a lot of guys on the team have good handshakes with, man, building that team camaraderie.
24:17But Mike LaFleur is the last one. So I'm going to get that done.
24:21What's your favorite? Last question. What's your favorite handshake of the ones you have in the building?
24:26Honestly, right now it's Marvin Harrison. That's my guy.
24:29So we do a little, uh, uh, uh, uh, put the ski mask on.
24:33Cause we're out there hunting, man. You know what I'm saying?
24:37We're trying to make plays. And Marv, you know what I'm saying?
24:41It's just been fun getting him like in that, in that camaraderie sense.
24:45And it is dope that he's joined it with me.
24:48Cause you know, Marv's quiet. So he's chill, but he was like, I got you KB.
24:53I'll get, I'll get right with you. So that, that meant a lot to me.
24:58He's like his old man. He's quiet and much like his old man.
25:02He had the nice over the shoulder catch down the left side line.
25:06Big time. To get that win. You guys trying to go to 2-0?
25:10Trying to end a losing streak against the Seahawks.
25:13Kendrick Bourne, good luck to you. Thanks for joining us today.
25:16Thank you, Andrew. Appreciate you guys. Kendrick Bourne might be my new favorite person.
25:20They beat the Chargers last week and no one saw that coming other than of course the Cardinals.
25:26Now the Chargers have to bounce back and they get the Raiders coming to town.
25:31Justin Herbert started well, but after that first drive, it kind of went downhill.
25:35You know, it's our next opponent. It's another opportunity for us to go play football and, uh, to be better and put
25:42our, uh, brand of work out there. And, um, you know, I don't think we were happy or, or, uh, content with week one effort.
25:50So, um, you know, we're doing everything we can to fix it and be better this week.
25:55And there, we obviously have a lot of respect for them as a team.
25:59Um, you know, we know how good they can be and, um, you know, we definitely have to be on our best,
26:06uh, have a good week of practice so we can be prepared.
26:10I mean, week two is crazy, isn't it? Because you, you, you overreact no other way to say it after week one,
26:17and then you head to week two and you're like, I don't know that I overreact.
26:22Like, are the Vikings really that good? I mean, defensively, can the Bears score 60?
26:27The Bengals defense. I mean, that was an anomaly, wasn't it?
26:30The Packers keep blowing leads, right? I mean, that's what they do.
26:34Sure. Like there, all these storylines and potential implications from a really good schedule week number two.
26:39Like what if the Giants beat the Rams? Just saying.
26:42Lance Irline, what if we have all these crazy bounce back candidates?
26:46We showed you Justin Herbert there. You have a, you have a charger bounce back candidate or maybe all the chargers?
26:52Oh man, the running game. Oh, Marion Hampton for sure is going to be bounce back.
26:57Start him. He's going to be one of the highest scoring running backs.
27:02I think I, I don't see the Raiders. I don't think they're going to be able to stop the chargers.
27:08And here's what I expect happened earlier in the week.
27:11I think, you know, I think Harbaugh, Jim Harbaugh stuck his head in into Mike McDaniels office with a tall glass of
27:18cold milk and said, hey, how about we give the running backs the ball more than 16 times this game?
27:24And that's going to happen. You're going to see the chargers pound.
27:28You're going to see them getting back to physical football.
27:31And oh, Marion Hampton is going to be the beneficiary.
27:34Another guy that I think is going to get back to playing better football is Bo Nix with the Denver Broncos.
27:41Now it was a bad game for Nix. It was a bad game for the offense.
27:46It was really a bad game for Davis Webb, the offensive coordinator and brand new play caller.
27:51But from week one to week two, I think we'll see a little bit more clarity, not just with Davis Webb, but also with Bo Nix.
27:59And I expect against a game defense and a very good secondary from the Jaguars, I think we're going to see Jalen Waddle.
28:06Jalen Waddle was a non-factory catch for two yards.
28:09That cannot happen this week. Jalen Waddle will be early and off, and you'll see the ball touch his hands.
28:15I think he's going to have a big game and the passing game gets going.
28:20And the Bears defense, wow, were they bad last week.
28:23Good thing they scored 59 points. But the Bears defense, they only have four players right now, their starting group, that were full-time starters last year.
28:31So it's going to take a little while. I don't know if they're going to be dominant defensively this week, but I
28:38do expect a better effort, whether it's Kyler Murray or Carson Wentz starting for Minnesota.
28:43I think we're going to see a much better effort from the Bears defense, and they'll shore it up a little bit.
28:50Yeah, everybody thinks they can bounce back. But if they don't bounce back week two, then it's panic mode, which is brainstorming.
28:57That'll be a segment next week. Thank you, Lance.
28:59Don't go anywhere. Coming up on the NFL Report, back to Highmark.

29:32There is Josh Allen warming up at the brand new Highmark Stadium.
29:36That is an unobstructed view of the quarterback. When last he battled Jared Goff, it was in December of 2024.
29:42They combined the two teams, not just the quarterbacks, for 90 points.
29:46In the old stadium, Josh Allen 158 touchdowns, which I'm told is a lot.
29:51Quick hits. Mike Reese says, Travion Henderson says, I'm ready to go.
29:54The second year running back out of Ohio State missed the opener in Seattle, but he should be good to go, at
30:01least according to him, this week against the Steelers.
30:04Nico Collins, though, maybe not so much. He's got a hammy.
30:07It happened Wednesday. Met with team doctors. They don't think it's serious, but it's a wide receiver with a hammy.
30:14When is the last time you heard a wide receiver with a hammy actually play?
30:18I don't know. Operators are standing by. What do you do for a cheat meal?
30:23Anybody? I eat piles of chocolate chip cookies on Sunday.
30:26That's how I used to do red zone. I'd have 12 chocolate chip cookies and six cups of coffee.
30:32Kirk Cousins is built differently. I got an in and out problem and it wasn't a big deal when I lived in the central or eastern time zone.
30:41But on the West Coast time zone, when I signed with the Raiders, I knew this is going to be an issue.
30:48And that is a great cheat meal. And coming home from a win on a Sunday night, I don't know if I
30:55can think of a better spot than that. Lance Zerline, your cheat meal is what?
30:59It's going to be cheese enchiladas with bacon wrapped shrimp, the old shrimp for a shit.
31:04All right. You got me on the bacon wrapped shrimp, the cheese enchiladas, man.
31:09Hard to pass, but good for you. Good for the Bills and the Lions.
31:13TNF coming up next. TNF game day preview also.
