Aaron Jones

PositiveUsage19:48

Aaron Jones is used as a benchmark for high-end bellcow usage, providing context for the volume expectations of other running backs.

Insight page

Adonai Mitchell

PositiveBreakout32:28

Adonai Mitchell is a high-upside waiver target due to elite separation metrics and strong target/air yard volume, despite a concerning drop rate and a current hand injury requiring a reinforced glove. He outperformed Garrett Wilson in both total targets and air yards (by 87 yards) through the first three weeks, suggesting significant breakout potential once healthy.

Insight page

Alvin Kamara

NegativeBust40:44

The source views Alvin Kamara as a B or C-tier asset, describing him as 'washed' and noting that his recent usage in a committee backfield with Kendre Miller resulted in low-upside production (six carries, zero targets).

Insight page

Braelon Allen

PositiveUsage18:50

Braelon Allen is an S-tier waiver wire target who should see 14+ touches per week while Breece Hall is sidelined with a grade two quad strain; the source recommends a 15-20% FAAB bid, noting that the coaching staff favors him and Isaiah Davis has seen zero snaps.

Insight page

Breece Hall

NegativeInjury4:14

Breece Hall is dealing with a grade two quad strain, according to injury expert Jeff Mueller, and is expected to be sidelined for three to six weeks.

Insight page

Caleb Douglas

NegativeInjury46:02

Caleb Douglas is noted as being injured, serving as a cautionary comparison for high-tier rookie prospects.

Insight page

Chris Bell

PositiveBreakout18:17

Chris Bell is a high-upside waiver target (recommended 2-5% FAB) with an S-tier physical profile (6'2, 225 lbs) and elite route-running ability on inbreakers. Despite concerns about the Dolphins' offense, he is seeing high-level usage as a rookie, including a 72% snap share and 7 targets in his recent outing.

Insight page

Cyrus Allen

PositiveSleeper35:56

Cyrus Allen is recommended as a deep-league, keeper, and high-stakes waiver wire watch list candidate. While he currently lacks route share, the source highlights his potential upside in the Chiefs' offense, noting that he was a highly-regarded prospect by analysts like Matt Harmon and Mike Renner.

Insight page

Davante Adams

NegativeProjection66:53

Davante Adams is acknowledged as an elite talent but is described as aging and injury-prone.

Insight page

Garrett Wilson

NegativeUsage34:28

Garrett Wilson is used as a statistical benchmark for Adonai Mitchell, who outperformed him in both total targets and air yards (by 87 yards) through the first three weeks of the season.

Insight page

Isaiah Davis

NegativeUsage18:37

Isaiah Davis has recorded zero snaps all year, serving as a baseline for the potential workload shift in the Jets backfield while Breece Hall is sidelined.

Insight page

J.J. McCarthy

NegativeBust3:58

JJ McCarthy is viewed as an unmitigated bust due to maturity issues and a personality rift with Kevin O'Connell. While he was traded to the Giants and later the Ravens, the source suggests the Ravens move is an audition for a future starting role elsewhere, as he is not expected to start until week seven and Jackson Dart is slated to reclaim the starting job.

Insight page

Jacoby Brissett

PositiveUsage7:25

Jacoby Brissett is a high-end QB2 with QB1 upside, having finished as a QB1 in 11 of his last 15 games—a higher rate than Josh Allen. He benefits from a high-volume passing role in Mike LaFleur's offense, though he is generally considered a D-tier streaming option in deeper formats.

Insight page

Jaylen Warren

PositiveUsage19:44

Jaylen Warren is cited as a high-end bellcow example, illustrating how volume can elevate a running back's fantasy production.

Insight page

Jaylen Wright

NegativeValue21:13

Jaylen Wright is a B-tier waiver target with a 4-7% FAAB recommendation; the source expresses skepticism regarding his vision and long-term production in a struggling offense, comparing his playstyle to a mix of Raheem Mostert and poor vision.

Insight page

Jordan Whittington

PositiveSleeper65:16

Jordan Whittington is a recommended waiver wire add. He saw his route share jump from 61% to 72.2% and nearly recorded 100 yards in his recent game. The source suggests bidding 5-7% of FAAB.

Insight page

Keaton Mitchell

NegativeUsage28:25

The source expresses caution regarding Keaton Mitchell due to the emergence of a three-headed committee backfield involving Omarian Hampton and Kimani Vidal, which limits his upside on a struggling offense. His high yards-per-carry average is noted as inflated by usage on obvious passing downs, and analysts suggest a conservative FAAB bid of 1-3% due to uncertain standalone upside.

Insight page

Kendre Miller

PositiveBreakout40:53

The source ranks Kendre Miller as an A-tier waiver target relative to cost, citing his long-term upside and the team's historical interest in his development, despite the current committee usage.

Insight page

Kimani Vidal

NegativeDepth Chart31:48

If Amarian Hampton were to suffer an injury, Kimani Vidal would likely inherit the primary role rather than Keaton Mitchell, limiting Mitchell's potential for a significant workload increase.

Insight page

Malik Nabers

NegativeUsage14:14

The source expresses concern that Malik Nabers may be relegated to a decoy role for the remainder of the season due to the team's quarterback struggles.

Insight page

Malik Willis

PositiveProjection8:27

While Malik Willis is considered a disappointing draft pick, the source notes he has looked better than his box score for two consecutive weeks and provides a valuable rushing element to the offense.

Insight page

Marcus Mariota

PositiveValue7:25

Marcus Mariota is considered a D-tier streaming option and the least favorite quarterback target on the waiver wire list. Despite replacing Jayden Daniels admirably and having a favorable matchup against the Colts, he is only owned in 3% of leagues.

Insight page

Ollie Gordon

PositiveValue21:13

Ollie Gordon is an A-tier waiver target with long-term upside; the source suggests a 12% FAAB bid, noting his 87% snap share in week two and comparing him to a 'poor man's Chuba Hubbard'.

Insight page

Puka Nacua

NegativeInjury66:53

Puka Nacua is dealing with a suspected sports hernia. The source notes pessimism regarding his recovery, suggesting that if he lacks explosiveness, he may require surgery, which would result in a 6-8 week absence. Additionally, the source expresses concern regarding the Rams' current management and decision-making surrounding his usage.

Insight page

Rashee Rice

NegativeUsage36:54

The source is critical of Rashee Rice, arguing that his usage is limited to catching passes behind the line of scrimmage, which is described as a 'PPR scam' rather than high-value production, and explicitly states they do not believe in him for fantasy purposes.

Insight page

Sam Darnold

PositiveValue7:25

Sam Darnold is a recommended waiver wire target, owned in only 37% of leagues. He is back from injury and operating in a high-volume passing attack, making him a high-end QB2 option for desperate managers, particularly with a soft upcoming matchup against the Chargers, though his long-term upside remains uncertain.

Insight page

Tyler Huntley

NegativeProjection8:35

Tyler Huntley is referenced as a previous high-tier streaming recommendation by the source, suggesting he was a viable target in recent weeks.

Insight page

Tyquan Thornton

NegativeRole61:43

Tyquan Thornton is viewed as an impressive deep threat, but his fantasy utility is capped by a projected 50% to 60% route share.

Insight page

Wan'Dale Robinson

NegativeBust42:02

The source advises selling Wan'Dale Robinson despite his PPR potential, citing a dead offense, lack of touchdown upside, and poor quarterback play from Cam Ward, who is described as generationally bad.

Insight page

Xavier Worthy

NegativeBust36:51

The source expresses a negative outlook on Xavier Worthy's current fantasy value, bluntly stating that he 'sucks' within the context of the Chiefs' pass-catching corps and explicitly stating they do not believe in him for fantasy purposes.

0:38something? Can you can you break this down for me, buddy?
0:40>> Yeah, we're we're on a bit of a heater.
0:42Tom Broly is coming off a 9 and one week, up 7.9 units on player props. He's now up 12.4 units this season. Uh 79.2
0:53units over the last three years. Uh, if you want to tail Tom and the rest of our betting team, you should subscribe to
0:59our inseason betting package today. You get 70% off your first month with promo code grinder. Um, and yeah, also

1:27awesome, award-winning content.
1:30>> Awesome. Uh, so today we're doing Waverwire. This is our our new, what is this, our Tuesday showc Monday before Monday Night Football, so we probably
1:39won't be talking about guys in the Monday night game. But >> you know what can make the waiverwire thing easier for the listeners is if
1:45they're using the front office tool, right? Uh, that's right.
1:47>> Please check it out. It is the best tool for managing your fantasy leagues.
1:52They're going to tell you all like the nitty-gritty details that we leave out in this show because this is a video
1:57podcast piece of content.
1:58>> Yeah, it's also before our projections come out. But if you use the waiverwire tool, you could sort by rest of season
2:05rankings so you know which players have the most long-term upside or you could sort by week four projections so you know who's the best spot start. Um, so
2:15yeah, shout out to that tool. It's just, you know, it makes makes this a breeze.
2:19If you're one of those sickos who have like 500 FFPC teams, uh it's it's an absolute cheat code.
2:26>> All right, let's dive in. That's enough advertising for today, Scott. I think we paid the bills sufficiently. Let's start off with the quarterbacks. We're going
2:33to we're going to stick with the same methodology we've been doing where we're going to tear this for you. Okay.
2:38There's been some movement with some of these these backup quarterback situations. JJ McCarthy was traded to the Giants. Um, let's start with the two
2:46New York quarterbacks. Gino Smith bowled out again against the Lions. He looks really good, Scott. And he's got a nice low-key stable of pass catchers. Bree
2:55Hall is now hurt. The offensive line is really good. I don't know if you saw the the one-on-one clips between Arman Membu
3:02and Aiden Hudson going around, but those little things give me more confidence in Gino than I had a year ago. How do you
3:09feel about Gino Smith?
3:11>> Yeah, I feel really good. I mean like he really passed the test this past week. I know the Lions are a soft matchup, but
3:16they have a ferocious pass rush and that's always been Gino Smith's kryptonite. Him and Jared Goff specifically the two most pressure
3:24sensitive quarterbacks in the league by an absolute landside. I always said Gino Smith the type of guy who he's next in
3:31line at Chipotle ready to give his order. He starts stuttering. That's how uh sensitive to pressure he is. Uh but no, he was awesome. 321 passing yards,
3:40three touchdowns. In a game he took five sacks, Brett, in a game he was under pressure over 45% of the time. And he
3:47did it without the ascod Mitchell. He did it without Mason Taylor. And now he gets set to face off against a really
3:55vulnerable Chicago Bears defense. So you have to be pretty bullish on a on a you know, we were kind of buying into the
4:02Jets this off seasonason, you and I. we were saying it's like with all these pass catchers, uh, Gino Smith could play
4:08point guard to and look really good doing it. Um, and you know, Frank Reich really impressing us even though he he's
4:15kind of never impressed us before this season, but like what he's doing there.
4:19Uh, so I I like Gino Smith a lot, especially as a spot start this week.
4:24Um, but he he still isn't going to be any higher than C or D tier to me. Do you want to
4:32know why? [laughter] >> I'm I'm really excited to hear why.
4:37>> Uh because he's a quarterback, Brett, and quarterback is just the deepest position in fantasy by an absolute landslide. And there's just a bunch of
4:45guys we can turn to off waiverss this week. Uh Gino Smith has a great matchup, but so does Jacobe Brassette. So does
4:52Sam Darnold. So does Marcus Mariota. And so all of those guys are going to be available. I don't know that you need to
4:58waste a waiver claim or any material fab dollars on a Gino Smith when the quarterback position is just so deep.
5:07And so yeah, if you drafted Jackson Dart and Malik Willis like so many Fantasy Point subscribers did, I'm so sorry. I'm
5:15so sorry. Uh you can get by with streaming. Hopefully you already picked up Tyler Chuck who we had what A tier or
5:22S tier last week. Um, and if not, yeah, you could just keep, you know, playing playing, you know, uh, roulette with
5:30these quarterbacks and just gravitating towards whoever's highest in our projections. And if a guy really impresses you, uh, you could hold on to
5:37him for the rest of the season. But yeah, I would say Gino Smith's C tier and we'll probably put all the other
5:44quarterbacks Dtier.
5:45>> Whoa, hold on. No, no, no, no, no, no.
5:50Scott, the New York Football Giants just traded.
5:55>> Oh god.
5:55>> For the best quarterback of the 2024 draft class.
5:59>> You now have the best quarterback from the 2024 and 2025 draft class.
6:04>> One of those players >> is missing some time and his name's Jackson Dart. The other one is JJ McCarthy [laughter] Scott. And you
6:13always tell me upside wins championships. You cannot tell me that this is a C-tier waiver claim. I'm not saying commit a lot of fab dollars to
6:20it. [clears throat] Maybe not any fab dollars, but if you have a deep league and you have an open bench spot, just go
6:26ahead and throw JJ McCarthy there and prosper later. Okay.
6:30>> I don't know if this is a joke. This is This is scaring me. Um, >> wait. You get to talk Giants. You get to
6:38talk Giants >> four times an episode on this show. The one time I want to talk about it, you're gonna you're gonna push me off like
6:44that? You're gonna stiff arm me? Give me the Heisman pose. Come on now.
6:48>> This is [laughter] This is such an F tier. Uh it's not even You're messing with me. Please tell me you're messing
6:54with me. JJ McCarthy, you're taking the L. You're You're really trying to fight back on this. I'll >> Hold on. Hold on. I'm not taking the L.
7:03You want to know why? Because Caleb Blame stinks. Because Drake May stinks.
7:06Because Jaden Daniels has a low BMI and gets hurt every fourth play. Because Bo Nick stinks. Because Michael Penn Jr.
7:12stinks. I am not taking the L. You can't tell me to take the L yet. It's too early for that.
7:19>> In a world where we saw Bryce Young get benched. In a world where Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield are on their third
7:24and fourth teams, when Daniel Jones has been tossed around, >> I >> Gino Smith.
7:30>> Gino Smith. Well, I mean, he's like mid30s now, but yeah. Yeah. I mean, >> he's a backup for 10 years.
7:35>> Yeah, you're right. You're not wrong.
7:37You're not wrong. I don't have to take the L yet. I'm going to I'm going to proudly stand up. I am joking for the
7:42fantasy bit. Okay. I am joking. Don't go rush out and reclaim JJ McCarthy. He won't be the starter till week seven as
7:48I proclaimed so boldly yes on yesterday's show before the trade. But uh I am being serious. I'm happy for you Scott. This is a great acquisition for
7:55the New York Football Giants.
7:57>> I So I'll say that spending a fifth round pick, you know, like you just set fifth round picks on fire. Like the
8:03chance you you take someone round five and he starts and is like average or better is like what 3% at best. So, um,
8:13yeah, that that was this was an awesome trade for the Giants, but yeah, fantasy, it's hard to see a pathway to relevance
8:20here. I I think I think he's going to start, like you called on yesterday's show before this news broke, I think
8:25he's going to start over the next couple weeks, something's wrong with Jameus Winston. Like, the one thing about Jamus is he always threw a beautiful ball.
8:31It's just that 10% of the time the ball went to the guy wearing the wrong jersey. But this, he's throwing ducks.
8:39Like, it's ugly. lost all velocity and the accuracy is awful. Uh, and so you saw that it's like they they signed him
8:47to an extension and immediately they're like, "Oh, no, no. We're we're we're talking to Jimmy Grappo. We're talking to the Vikings about a deal." And it's
8:54like, "All right, that's a bit of a red flag. You have Malik Neighbors who may or may not just be full-on decoy for the
9:00rest of the year." Uh, and it's just gross. Um, but I want you to tell me as a Giants fan, like do you actually
9:09seriously believe it's not over for JJ McCarthy because I think like this guy is just like an unmitigated bust. The excuse I'll make for you, and I'll say
9:17this because your track record on quarterbacks has been stellar. Um, >> it's not your fault, Brett, because Connor Stallions was giving JJ McCarthy
9:29the the opposing team's plays. Um, and so yeah, you you really care about IQ for quarterbacks, uh, quick processing, and so I could see how you were duped
9:40when he knew the play calls.
9:42>> Um, >> this is totally a bust.
9:46>> No, no, despite that, that's not even the problem right now.
9:49>> The problem is clearly a uh a personality rift between him and Kevin Oonnell. There's a maturity issue going on, which is the opposite of what, you
9:57know, I thought J.J. McCarthy would be.
9:59Obviously, one of the things I loved about him was the vibe check, the way Jim talked about him. However, u if I
10:06end up having to take the L, that's that's fine. Like I I'm going to make mistakes. I like you said, my track
10:11record on KB speaks for itself. I don't I don't need to do that whole dance, right? I do think there's a chance,
10:16though. I authentically believe there is a a a really good chance that you guys just traded for, you know, a potential
10:24starting quarterback in the NFL for a fifth round pick. I think this is a great trade for you guys. Um, from a
10:29football standpoint, I think JJ can absolutely play. He has to mature a little bit and hopefully a fresh start with, you know, some common bond here
10:36with John Harbaugh being, you know, no one knows JJ better than Jim. I'm sure Jim called up John and said, "Absolutely
10:43do this trade. This is this is a good trade for you guys, you know. So, uh, I I'm excited for you authentically. I
10:48think this is going to be great for you guys."
10:50>> And and then JJ, he won't be the long-term starter, right? Because Jackson Dart will will eventually come back and take his job back, but that's
10:56fine. I think this is a really nice audition for JJ to the rest of the league to get that next starting
11:01opportunity somewhere.
11:03>> Yeah, I I'm just going to guess it's going to be really ugly. But here here's a >> why. Hold on. But why? But why? Why
11:09really ugly?
11:10>> Cuz you know, last time I saw him play, it just looked like worse than Cooper Rush.
11:16>> That's not true. You're You're fundamentally wrong. And you don't watch games. So don't ever say last time I watched him play, you did not watch him
11:23play. For one, I watched through the spreadsheets. For two, look at Yeah. Go look at the spreadsheets, then compare his first nine starts to Caleb Williams
11:30first nine starts. Compare his first nine starts to Drake May's first first run in the league.
11:34>> Well, here's here's something I did pull for you. His last seven games, better than Aaron Rogers, better than Drake May, better than CJ Strad, better than
11:44Daniel Jones over every quarterback's last seven full games. Uh, just one spot ahead of Baker Mayfield. So yeah, maybe maybe >> he's five and four as a starter and he
11:55got benched.
11:57>> Yeah, that's from a fantasy perspective.
12:00That part's easy.
12:01>> Um >> this this is not an NFL podcast. This is a fantasy podcast. So, but I just wanted to I was trying to give your team
12:07flowers and then you you just shunned me like a you know, like the annoying little little brother you are. So, >> what? Whoa, whoa, whoa. All right, let's
12:16keep it moving. J Jacobe Brassette, Arizona Cardinals could be I feel like Scott and I have talked about him a lot
12:21where he's just like he's so insulated as even if it is garbage time. It doesn't matter. It's going to happen most weeks. And if they're competing, if
12:30they're actually in a game, that's also good for Jacobe Brassette because that means they they had some production going. So he's feels really insulated. I
12:37think he's relative. What's his floor right now? Like QB 16 in a given week.
12:42>> Yeah. Well, to be fair, his ceiling's QB10. Um, but he is like super safe and dependable. The stat I have on him,
12:50>> he's finished as a QB1 in 11 of his last 15 games. It's a higher rate than Josh Allen. Um, and so like it really just
12:59like >> say that again.
13:01>> He's finished as a QB1, so top 12 in 11 of his last 15 games. That's a higher rate than Josh Allen and I think higher
13:08than almost any any >> that's actually absurd. But it's just always lowend QB1 like >> Yeah, for the most part. Yeah. And so
13:16like Ryan and and I were like, "Oh, you know, there's going to be a massive regression for this offense. They just
13:21had the highest pass rate in Fantasy Points data history." And then we looked into uh Mike Laflur's track record.
13:28We're like, actually, I don't know, this guy is like super great for pace of play. And you saw that the they ran over
13:3480 plays last week. They didn't do that once last year. Uh, and so this little like Jacobe Versett 50 dropback cheat
13:41code, you know, might continue. They have a good matchup against the Giants.
13:46You know, maybe maybe there's a little push back and and they lean more runheavy, but um >> 58 dropbacks yesterday.
13:53>> This is like a high-end QB2 in a in a neutral matchup. Um, so yeah, again, very safe. Um, if you're desperate for a
14:02quarterback, if you lost Jackson Dart, Malik Willis, uh, this is certainly someone to look at.
14:08>> Drafted Justin Herbert or Caleb Williams to be your starter.
14:11>> Yeah. So, so Dtier, I I would say just because again, quarterback so deep and the the long-term upside, I think, is
14:17still questionable.
14:19Sam Darnold is only owned in 37% of leagues due to the injury obviously, but he's back and uh they're throwing the
14:26ball a lot, especially in a in a tight ball game against Washington. What do you got for me on Sam Darnold?
14:34>> Uh he just he's coming off of a careerhigh in passing yards. You saw Drew Lock just be really, I don't know,
14:40better than competent. Uh you have Jackson Smith and Jigba who looks like the greatest wide receiver since Jerry Rice. Um, so yeah, just another, you
14:50know, soft match up against the Chargers. Another guy who's going to be high-end QB2 in in the projections this week, but yet another Dtier. Just uh
14:58that's that's why you don't need to, you know, panic and overpay for a Gino Smith is you have a bunch of names here.
15:05>> Was that the most dropbacks he's got in a Seattle uniform? That's what I want.
15:08>> Yeah, probably. Yeah, >> because they they literally could not run the football. I mean, I'm I'm looking through in the postseason, he
15:15had a couple 35 plus dropback games, but yeah, I mean, this was a little D D D D D D D D D D D D D D D D D
15:23D D D D tier, especially because that they do want to lean into that run typically more often than not. So, all
15:29right, last QB and then we're going to move on. Marcus Mariota, he's only owned in 3% of leagues. Um he's replaced Jaden Daniels somewhat
15:37admirably, but he's probably my least favorite of the quarterbacks on this list to target in a waiverwire setting.
15:42What say you?
15:44>> Yeah. Well, what's really interesting, I just pulled it up in uh data sweet 2.0 over the last three seasons all with the
15:51commanders. He ranks seventh in fantasy points for dropback. He's ahead of Jaylen Herz, Patrick Mahomes, Trevor Lawrence, Jaden Daniels, Justin Herbert,
16:01Jackson Dart. Um, and so the efficiency has kind of always been there. It's just, uh, play volume is drops off quite
16:09a bit. They lean more runheavy, more slower paced. Maybe they don't have that luxury anymore with, um, uh, the just their running game is just
16:19totally dead. U, but yeah, he also gets a great matchup this week against the Colts. So, he's he's another Dtier, but
16:27just like a guy who I think >> Yeah.
16:30>> What? Oh, I I saw you doing this. Are you trying to cut me off?
16:34>> Oh, no, no, sorry. Crack cracking my wrist over here. So, my bad. My bad.
16:37>> Yeah, and he is I like these pass catchers, man. I I like Terry McLuren and I like Stefan Diggs. So, he's he's
16:43yet another I don't know. Could could be a high-end QB, too, this week. Wouldn't surprise me.
16:48>> Mini Almanra.
16:50>> Mini Almanra. Antonio Williams.
16:53>> Yeah. [snorts] Yeah. I like that. I like that. Um, so and just for clarity, guys, even the Ctier Gino Smith, we're not going more
17:01than like 1%. I don't even know that I would use any Fab Money, right, Scott?
17:05Like, you would just take who's left of this bunch, you know? So, >> what you got to do is you got to set
17:10your alarm for 3:30 a.m. So, you can uh add these guys >> Wednesday morning. No, just kidding.
17:16>> No, no, do that for real. We're we're we're hardcore over here.
17:19>> Yeah, that's true.
17:20>> All right, that's it for quarterbacks.
17:21Let's dive into running backs now. And the story of the running back waiverwire this week is we had some significant injuries at the position. Whether it was
17:30>> Bree Hall, Devin Achain, Travis Achain.
17:34Sorry, the name's always going to throw me off.
17:36>> Both Achains are hurt.
17:37>> Both A chains are hurt. Spelled differently. Uh let's start over in New York with Brilan Allen, who is the the
17:44presumed backup to Bree Hall. He's a a totally different running back, though.
17:48He's a big bruiser type. I don't really know that that matters, but um you know, where you at on Brilan Allen? I've never
17:54really been a fan myself, but I'm curious on your thoughts.
17:57>> Yeah, I've never been a fan, but it seems like the coaches are because they're they're constantly trying to talk up, you know, force a committee,
18:04even though I think Bree Hall is like a phenomenal running back and I think Brilen Allen's just a guy, but you know,
18:11it's clear they like him for whatever reason. He has good size, so he could be a workhorse, should be the goal line
18:17back. and you have Isaiah Davis with zero snaps all year. Um, so you could be looking at highest end bellcow usage.
18:26Um, you know, where even if the pie isn't very large, his slice of the pie is very large. I think you're looking at
18:35probably probably 14 plus touches every week until Bree Hall returns. And so we don't have confirmation yet, but Jeff Mueller, our injury expert, is saying
18:45this is probably a grade two quad strain. I think he's probably out three to six weeks. Uh, and so, yeah, there's
18:52a lot of teams out there that, you know, they're weak at the RB2 position. They went zero RB intentionally or they they
19:00went down Devon Han and he's out for the rest of the year and Omar and Hampton stinks and they're desperate. So, I feel
19:06like he has to be an S tier. Um, I will just say theoretically less long-term upside than one of the
19:15Miami backs just because Han's out for the year and you know Bree Hall is coming back three to six weeks. Um, but
19:24still just given the scarcity of the running back position, the the positional importance, this is an S tier and a guy to spend quite a bit of fab
19:34on. I think 15 to 20% sounds right.
19:3815 to 20%. That's that's a hefty chunk for a guy who >> a guy who's probably going to be what?
19:44Low-end RB2, mid-range RB2 in our projections. And you just saw it. Jaylen Warren, highest end bellcow. Aaron Jones, highestend bellcow. When you
19:53remove, you know, uh, touches like that, it just it creates an opportunity for even a mediocre back like Brilland Allen to just get there on raw volume. I guess
20:04I struggle because as you already mentioned like Bree Hall will be back.
20:08>> Yeah.
20:08>> So re like realistically Allen might be a nice band-aid to help you along the middle part of the season here but he's
20:14not going to >> be a league winner down the stretch.
20:16>> Really important especially in like a a year like this where not a lot's making sense where the I'm so sorry the Exodas
20:24outside of Parker Washington not doing so great. Uh and there's just like a lot of injuries. So, uh, you got to scratch
20:31and claw your way to the playoffs and then just hope your team get gets healthy or it gets hot.
20:37>> Um, or teams start doing the logical thing. And, uh, yeah, I think I think that's where we're at.
20:44>> So, you're comfortable with S tier despite the cost to acquire him potentially.
20:50>> I mean, is that how we're doing this tier thing? I >> we that's how we've done it the past few
20:54weeks. We consider the cost to acquire and as part of the tier.
20:58>> Yeah. Yeah, I don't know. Probably still I don't know. Maybe then A tier, but whatever. It's just >> I don't have a lean. I'm just trying to
21:05get the most information out of you for the listeners as humanly possible.
21:08>> Yeah, let's keep them tier and see what happens.
21:11>> Okay, we'll keep them tier for now.
21:13Well, the next big big two, we'll just we'll talk about them both at the same time is Ali Gordon and Jaylen Wright. Um
21:19I know if you list if you go, you know, read our waiverwire article on the site, they're going to tell you five to seven%
21:24on both these guys. And I I I'm guessing that's just strictly because the efficiency is probably going to suck even though the volume could be really
21:31good for one of them. Um is that kind of where your head's at too where it's like the opportunity long term is better than
21:36Brillin Allen. However, you know, it might not amount to a whole lot of production because this team looks very very bad.
21:45>> Yeah. Well, this this looks like a totally dead offense, especially now after they just lost what you know probably their best player. Um but there
21:54is like upside here. It's, you know, if like one of these guys can get, you know, like 90% of the work, like there,
22:00you could still be like I I was kind of thinking Devon Han was a buy low, honest. Like I I might have preferred
22:07him to Ashen Jen. H I don't know. It's but it's close. It's just dude an 88% snapshare and a 20% target share usually
22:15I mean like almost always hits in a major way. Um, so what what what makes this difficult is we don't necessarily
22:23know who the guy is going to be. They both played exactly three snaps in week one. Um Jaylen Wright then got hurt in
22:31week two. And so Ali Gordon came in and he had 17 carries, three targets, an 87% snap share. Uh this is a player once in
22:41upon a time I I comped to poor man's Chuba Hubard. He had he had 2,000 yards from scrimmage in one year at Oklahoma
22:48State. Um and Jaylen Wright, meanwhile, is a player I comp to Helen Keller due to his his poor vision. A mix of
22:59Raheem Moert and Helen Keller. Um and so yeah, I kind of think it's going to be Ali Gordon. There's also Jarkez
23:07Hunter that he traded for Jarz Hunter, who's a player I really liked. I think I liked more than than any of the other
23:13than Jaylen Wright or Ali Gordon. Oh yeah, you see it there on the screen.
23:17Running back Frankenstein. Um yeah, so like we don't know and because so there's more long-term upside with Achan out for the year. it is a worse offense
23:28and like to make it riskier is we don't necessarily know who the guy is going to be or even if there is a guy it could
23:36still be like a gross two-way or three-way committee backfield on a dead team still it's just the positional scarcity
23:46positional importance I'm gonna put I'm gonna put Ali Gordon a tier um and I would bid more than five to seven% I
23:54would bet I think He's probably 12%. And then Jaylen Wright, I'd say B tier, and I' I'd put him 5 to 7%.
24:04>> Figuring out the fab for those guys is difficult because what if you whiff?
24:07Like, what if it ends up being Jaylen Wright, but you spent 12% on Ali Gordon?
24:11>> I mean, who cares? It's it's just >> the upside of hey if if he gets that 87% snap share this week with with Jaylen
24:19Wright healthy even in this bad offense like that's that could be huge for you especially if you're weak at the running
24:24back position or you started one and two 0 and three.
24:28>> Are you going after both these guys Brillian Allen and Olli Gordon or is that too much fab for one week? I I
24:35would do a price enforcement bid on Jaylen Wright. Something like 4% 5%. And then yeah, Ali Gordon, like I said, maybe maybe 12 to 15%.
24:44>> Okay. Uh let's let's move over to Alvin Chimera. Another injury. Travis Etchin, you know, he's gone and Alvin Chimera and Kendry Miller are available. Alvin
24:56Chimera is only owned in 43% of leagues.
24:58Kendry Miller just in 1% of leagues. Um, I don't how do you know how severe the injury to to Travis is?
25:04>> It doesn't look to be too severe. Jeff Mueller's projecting just a two to three week absence.
25:09>> Okay. How so? I mean, Camaro's looked washed for several years now. Are you getting super excited about this or is
25:15this just kind of one you're going to let pass by?
25:17>> No, I'd say Alvin Camaro is a B tier, maybe even Ctier. And then if we're going to do like relative to cost,
25:24Kendra Miller is probably an A tier. Um because you saw once Travis Han went down, they both had exactly six opportunities. Al Alvin Kamar had four
25:36carries or six carries, zero targets.
25:38Kendry Miller had four carries, two targets. And so like even without Han, who's who's coming back relatively quickly, it was still a gross low upside
25:49committee backfield. And I just say Kendrey Miller, I think, has more long-term upside, who was like a a player they were really high on. he just
25:57couldn't stay healthy. He was like, they're Marshon Lloyd, they're Jonathan Brooks, and like they're getting him touches. They want him involved. And so,
26:05you know, him versus a washed Alvin Kamar, I see more long-term upside. Uh, so we have it on the screen, 1 to 2% fab
26:12for Kendra Miller. Yeah, maybe 3 to 4%, but like I think you land him. I don't think he's a name, you know, other
26:19waiverwire shows are really uh all that excited on.
26:24>> Totally cool with that. Uh, last running back we're going to talk about here is Chargers running back Katon Mitchell.
26:30He's owned in just 32% of leagues. Just got a score for the Chargers. He's actually playing like the same amount of
26:36snaps as Omarian Hampton roughly, give or take. Uh, more in the pass game, less less as a runner, obviously. But I don't
26:43know how excited you can get about this, Scott, because Kimani Vidal also had a big roll bump and he played nearly 20
26:49snaps in this game. So, it's like a three-headed monster now, which is what our big fear was. You know, if you
26:54remember the August shows we did, it was that was the big fear is like this is ends up being a three-headed monster and
26:59I'm sure there will be weeks each of them perform well, but it's it's going to be really hard to sort through. Uh
27:04how you feel about Katon Mitchell as a waiver ad?
27:07>> Yeah. Well, I think you can answer this a bit better. You're right that now it looks like a three-way committee
27:13backfield, which which isn't great. Like caps your upside on an offense that looks dead. And we we talked about on yesterday's show the grueling gauntlet
27:22they're about to face. They're like the Bills are the softest defense that they're they're going to face until the Christmas time. And it looks like they
27:31are going to be heavy dogs in each of their next six games. But, you know, he does look like the better back. He
27:39averaged what, 6.5 yards per carry last week. Um, Omar and Hampton again under what? Under four, under three. Could he?
27:49And maybe he's never going to be a volume back given his size. But then again, people said the same thing about
27:54Devon Achan. Can Katon Mitchell be Mike McDaniel's new Devon Achan? You don't think Hampton's a good fit for the
28:02scheme? And it seems like McDaniel is stubbornly committed to his scheme. So maybe he just he just he just makes Katon Mitchell his new Devon Han. What
28:13What do you I'll let you tear this one and answer that question. I don't want to be annoying and always like
28:19do the carry contextualization for some of these backups because I I know I do this a lot, but it's true. Like Keith
28:25Mitchell had I think eight carries in this game. Three of them were on obvious passing downs.
28:30>> So it's like that's always going to inflate the yards per carry. So I wouldn't just like gun to head say,
28:35"Hey, he looks better than Amaran Hampton." would say, "Yeah, if you're get touching the ball on second and 28, the chances of you breaking a big runner
28:42are significantly higher than you being a hammer on first and 10." Does that make sense?
28:47>> Yeah, but it's also the Chargers are heavy dogs in each of their next six games. So, like that fits Keon's skill
28:53set anyway. But >> yeah, well, and you don't need to convince me to be low on Amari and Hampton. So, I
28:58>> I do think H or sorry, Mitchell is a dynamic pass game weapon and you've seen them try to use him like that. This
29:04offense has just kind of been out of sorts. So, um, yeah. I I don't know. I I'm like I said, I'm not too excited
29:11about it. I get it, though. I I' I'd put in a a request for him, but I would I don't know what kind of fab you're
29:16thinking here. What? 1 to 2%.
29:18Are you going higher than that?
29:20>> Uh, [sighs and gasps] I'd probably put him Ctier. Um, >> Ctier with what kind of fab commitment?
29:27>> Ctier I totally agree with, by the way.
29:28That's perfect.
29:29>> I don't know. One to three%. So, I don't I like the question is how much upside is there? And like
29:36we're unsure of that. Does he have standalone upside in the short unure?
29:41Right. Exactly. That's kind of Maybe he's even Dtier to be honest because here's the thing. If Hampton actually >> I still think there's like a a very
29:47small percentage chance he could be Mike McDaniels Devonte a champ. I It's going to require >> Go ahead.
29:54>> No, I you're I was just going to agree with you to your point like if this continues to sour the way it is, there
30:01could be a moment where McDaniel says, "You just got to let me do this." 100% my way, >> right?
30:06>> And my way is to have that speed back, that demon in the back field, and we'll try to figure out a role for Amarian.
30:13That's like >> galaxy brain kind of stuff, though. It's also possible Jim Harbaugh just says, "Dude, you suck. I'm taking play calling
30:19duties back."
30:20>> Yeah, exact. I was going to [laughter] say that. It's also possible McDaniel just gets fired. Uh, not looking too good.
30:27>> Yeah. And and then the other thing I was gonna say is >> Oh, you know you know [laughter] you know who would be uh probably the
30:34interim play caller.
30:36>> No, I don't who >> like you you'd think it can't get any worse for the Chargers. You think it can't get any worse.
30:43>> Don't do it.
30:43>> Do you know who their passing game specialist is?
30:46>> Patrick Herbert.
30:47>> Adam Gase.
30:51>> Bro, this coaching staff is wild. Do you know who their running back's coach is?
30:57Uh, Torrell Davis. I have no idea who.
30:59>> Max McAffrey.
31:01>> No way.
31:02>> Christian McAffrey is what is he like 25?
31:05>> Well, he Yeah. He played for Jim Harbaugh at Michigan.
31:09>> Wow.
31:10>> So, it's uh good old boys club stuff, >> which is what the Harbos do. Go look at your boy John Harbaugh's coaching staff
31:16out there in New York, bro. That's it's just all friends and family on the coaching staff.
31:21I mean, Brian Callahan, um, >> Greg, Greg Roman, >> Matt Ngie, Greg Roman, >> Matt Ngie.
31:27>> I mean, that's way better. Freaking Adam Gase.
31:29>> Greg Roman elevates that room quite a bit. Yeah.
31:31>> Wasn't Levian Bell telling stories about how like coked out of his mind Adam Gase was and just >> I think Adam Gase press conference has
31:38told you that story.
31:39>> Yeah. Don't know you needed Levian Bell.
31:41>> The googly eyes.
31:43>> The last uh the last bit I was going to say on Amarian Hampton is you mentioned or sorry on Keaton Mitchell, you
31:49mentioned the lack of upside. I think that's that's spot on because if Hampton actually got hurt by the way Kamani Vidal would just get that role probably,
31:57right? Wouldn't it stay roughly the same? Maybe maybe they tilt a little bit more Katon Mitchell, but >> right that's that's a great point. Yeah,
32:03it's then Kamani Vidal and the Hampton roll.
32:07>> Yeah, >> I don't know there there's there's a world where just like you know they're desperate, right? So they have to try anything out.
32:16>> Yeah. Yeah. All right, let's uh let's hop over to wide receivers.
32:20>> And it's rough. It's rough out here.
32:22>> There there's one ad I'm excited about.
32:25>> Oh, me too.
32:26>> on here. Yeah.
32:26>> Let's just skip right to him.
32:28>> Adnai Mitchell.
32:29>> Hell yeah. The ascod.
32:31>> He's still only owned in 39% of leagues.
32:33And when you look at the airyard share, the target volume, the separation stuff, like the opportunities there, right? We just need him to capitalize. Um this
32:44unfortunately he missed a great opportunity in Detroit. he would have annihilated that defense. Uh he's the exact type of receiver they don't want
32:50to see. So, >> well, let me let me start with the downside. Brett is I I'd like to show it on the screen here, but Adonai Mitchell
32:58is the ass god. What does that mean?
33:00He's the god of ass. Means he separates his separation abilities are elite.
33:05Average separation score extremely high.
33:07We were always high on Adai Mitchell, but if he's the god of ass, he is the the anti-god of hands. He has a dreadful
33:18drop rate where not only does he drop the ball a lot, but he drops the ball in awful situations in the end zone on deep
33:26targets with the game on the line. And now you have him he suffered a hand injury apparently like he got his hand
33:33caught in his like shirt. He was what trying to take take off his shirt or he got it caught in a quarterback shirt
33:39something. Uh and you're like, "Oh, that's nothing." And it's like, "Oh no, apparently this is awful." he's forced to wear a freaking oven mitt. So a guy
33:47who already can't catch struggles to catch the ball now has to play with an oven mitt on his hand. Um and so this
33:54just could be a slow burn. But had this not happened, I think Adani Mitchell would have had a 100redyard game. I
34:02think we would have been S tier Adai Mitchell 20% fab. And so this injury might have done us a favor. It's just
34:10going to take more time. I think I think maybe he sits again this week. I think maybe he plays and he just has two deep
34:18targets and maybe he catches one. Uh but long-term very bullish because heading into week three, Adai Mitchell had more targets than Garrett Wilson. Adi, you
34:29and they were both over 20% target share. Adai Mitchell had 87 more air yards than Garrett Wilson. And so in a
34:37shallow league, not an S tier, but in a like a competitive >> tier tier to deeper league, S tier.
34:46>> Yeah.
34:47>> Especially if you factor in the cost to acquire. I don't think anyone's rushing to add a player who available in 39% of
34:54leagues didn't even play last week.
34:56>> Yeah. You get them relatively free. Um in in the article it says 1 to 2%. And I'm comfortable going like four to 5%
35:04just cuz I'm a believer. But also that it's funny.
35:07>> A believer.
35:08>> You're Yeah, man.
35:11>> Dieard Justin Bieber fan.
35:12>> Dieard Justin Bieber fan. Uh the the thing he's wearing on his hand, whatever it's called. You're calling it an oven
35:19mitt. I just calling it >> looks like an oven mitt. It looks like >> reinforced glove. Anyways, the tape around that thing is stickier than
35:26receiving gloves. There's no way.
35:28>> This helps him, >> right? That's what I'm saying. There's no way this is worse than his actual hand. His actual hand, as we know,
35:34didn't didn't work. It was non-performative.
35:37>> This might actually play.
35:38>> As long as he can tolerate the pain of it, this might actually play. I as soon as he's ready to rock, I'm ready to rock
35:43with him.
35:45>> Hell yeah.
35:46>> Yeah. Hell yeah.
35:46>> And you get to you get to add someone nicknamed Ascot to your team. So that's that's always fun.
35:53>> Cyrus Allen.
35:56He's only owned in 3% of leagues. Why?
35:58Why are we adding him, Scott? What's What's the deal here?
36:02>> I put him on the sheet because I want to talk I want to talk about Cyrus Allen. I think he You're going to put him in the
36:08F tier because like no other waiver show is talking about Cyrus Allen and rightfully so. He played uh he he ran
36:15zero routes last week, but like he is sed here if this were guys you're adding a top your waiverwire watch list. Like
36:25keep an eye out on Cyrus Allen. This was Matt Harmon's boy. Matt Harmon loved Cyrus Allen's film. Uh, and I just
36:32>> Mike Rener's boy, too.
36:33>> Mike Rener's boy, dude. And Mike's hit rate on wide receivers is a Deontay Johnson. Um, but like I just look at
36:40this Chief's offense and I see a ton of upside, you know, getting this running game working. Patrick Mahomes, Andy Reid, cheat code. And I just look at the
36:51pass catchers and Xavier Worthy sucks.
36:54Rasheed Rice sucks. All he could do is catch the ball behind the line of scrimmage and you work that PPR scam.
37:03Taekquin Thornton is awesome. Actually, by the way, Taekwon Thornton's awesome, but he's always going to be like a 50 to 60% route share guy. Uh, and more of a
37:13deep threat. Uh, Travis Kelce somehow always gets wide the fop like a defenses like forget about him. uh even though he's probably their ba best pass
37:24catcher, but he's also old and his his girlfriend is a billionaire and so >> wife >> wife is a billionaire. Um and so it's
37:33like these guys all suck, but Mahomes is awesome and the offense is awesome.
37:39Someone's got to step up. And so I said this exact same thing about Rasheed Rice's rookie year where it's like week
37:45four, week five, week six, keep an eye on this guy. Keep an eye on him. watch the route share start to climb. We're
37:52weeks, we're months away from him being relevant, but just add him to your waiverwire watch list. Or better yet, in the fantasy points front office tool,
38:01you could flag certain guys. And so I would flag I would flag Cyrus Allen. If you're in a deep league, if you're in a
38:08keeper league, um if you're in a competitive high stakes league, you could add him.
38:15>> Can I make you a promise real quick?
38:17>> Yeah. I promise you that you didn't need to spend five minutes talking about that. You We could have summed it up by
38:23saying this. We don't believe in Rashi Rice. We don't believe in Xavier Worthy.
38:26Travis Kelce is old as dirt. Patrick Mahomes needs a dude that can win one-on- ones. Just keep an eye on Cyrus
38:31Allen. He's F tier for now. We might bump him next week. Boom. Case closed.
38:36You know what I'm saying?
38:37>> Yeah, >> bro. You just gave a fiveminute rendition on a guy who didn't run a route yesterday.
38:44>> Yeah. That's That's how strongly I I feel about It's gonna happen. We're gonna We're gonna clip this.
38:49>> I love you for that. No, I love I don't disagree. I'm just saying you could have just summarized that a little a little
38:54quicker.
38:55>> So, >> you're calling me out, man.
38:58>> Look at He's mad at me now. Dang it.
38:59>> I know. [laughter] >> You know I'm self-conscious.
39:02>> What? Don't be like that. Come on. Don't be >> I I don't want to do this show anymore.
39:06I'm done.
39:07>> Yeah.
39:08>> Fantasy Football Daily with with uh Scott and Ryan. How's that sound?
39:13Hey, that frees up my schedule quite a bit.
39:16Uh, Konata Mumfield, LA Rams wide receiver. Uh, he's only owned in 1% of leagues because until yesterday, you didn't know who Konata Mumfield was. So,
39:25>> it's not true.
39:26>> I I'm not saying you I'm saying I'm saying the average fan didn't know who he was.
39:30>> You want to know why I knew who Kannada Mfield was?
39:34>> Because he's awesome.
39:35>> Is he?
39:36>> I don't know. Just messing around.
39:38>> It's because he's awesome. cuz cuz he's a low-key ass god. Uh he led all last year all rookie wide receivers and ass
39:47uh since the start of last season.
39:48>> Small sample, bro. What?
39:50>> It's a small sample. Let all wide receiver he was top 10 and ass last year. And that's the thing is like
39:55depending on my route threshold, he kept messing up the chart because he kept popping on there. So I had to like
40:01increase the route threshold to remove him. uh in terms of like really big asses, so plus two asses. Uh only Devonte Adams was higher. And so what do
40:13you have? You have Puka Nua. Um we think it's a sports hernia injury. And Jeff Mueller is very pessimistic on this.
40:21It's like, okay, well, they're going to try and get him to play next week. Um but if like he feels like he's lacking
40:27his typical explosiveness they're they have no choice but to um opt for surgery which means that's a 6 to 8 week absence
40:37in which case you're left with Dvonte Adams who's awesome but old and injuryprone five tight ends and no one else but Katana Mfield who is an ascod
40:49who did go off last week uh his his 61% route share jumped to 72. 2% almost had a 100 yards in this game and we know
40:58Matthew Stafford and Shawn McVey are absolute kingmakers where it's almost like any guy could go off. I for a guy you only have to spend like 1 to 3% on
41:09on fab. [clears throat] I'm I'm all in on Katana Munfield. I'm pretty sure.
41:15>> Yeah, I mean absolutely.
41:17>> You agree?
41:17>> Well, just because of Jeff Mueller's take on this and I I got to get with Jeff and ask him this. it, if I'm not
41:23mistaken, the sports hernia thing, like the longer they wait to address that, they open the door for two things to happen. One, it could get worse,
41:32and two, that he could not be available for the playoffs. Like, this seems weird to me. Why wouldn't you just have the
41:37surgery now?
41:38>> Yeah.
41:38>> Would would that knock him out for the season? Do you know?
41:41>> It's six to eight weeks for the surgery, but like you're kind of >> just get it done.
41:46>> Yeah, but they're hoping they're hoping it it like heals naturally. It probably won't, but it's, you know, wishful.
41:51>> Yeah. The way Puka Nakua plays, that's going to heal naturally. Yeah, exactly.
41:55Like it's that's super weird to me. But anyways, yeah, I agree agree with your take on this just simply because I
42:02doesn't seem like they're making good decisions with Puka Nua right now. So, >> Wondelle Robinson showed that he has what what
42:09>> did we do we tier Mfield? I I said >> I thought you did. Yeah, you said Sier.
42:13Yeah.
42:13>> And so, it's showing 1% fab on the screen. That's I guess what Tom Bradley had in the waiver wire. I'd be more
42:19aggressive. I'd go five to 7% honestly.
42:23>> More or less if you're a Puka owner.
42:25>> A 1% roster, not fab. So, there's no fab on there, but yeah, I'd go I'd go 5 to 7%. Um,
42:32>> good.
42:32>> I'm a puka owner. Probably same. 5 to 7%.
42:37>> Okay. You don't, you know, want a little more insulation.
42:40>> I know we don't like handcuffing ourselves to running back, but a receiver situation. Yeah. Okay.
42:46>> All right. Juan Del Robinson, as I was saying, he showed that he has life. It's been it's been a while, but he's
42:53I don't know. He's owned in 47% of leagues, which still seems kind of high considering how bad the start to the
42:58season was, how bad Cam Ward looks. I don't care what you're about to say. I'm selling this. Just FYI.
43:05>> I was going to go F tier. I I hate >> Okay, good, good, good. Yeah. Well, I like Wandell, but Cam Ward is, you know,
43:12to steal a term from the kids, generationally bad. Yeah, it's bad.
43:16>> So, I'm I'm fine with F tier here.
43:19>> Yeah, like even if you have the PPR cheat code, you know, screen merchant role, it's still like a dead offense
43:27with no touchdown upside and a quarterback who ranks bottom five and completion over expectation.
43:33>> Who's the Titans backup?
43:35>> Quarterback.
43:36>> Oh, it's Mitch Trabiscy, >> dude. That >> Wall needs some Mitch Trabiscy in his life.
43:42>> I mean, no kidding. Yeah, it's like they're they they were heavy dogs against the Giants who all their good players were hurt and it's like maybe
43:50they would have been favored if Trabzky was the starter >> and then the remaining good player they had got hurt and Brian Burns again out
43:58for the season now. That's [sighs] >> you guys are on a you're like on a 49ers level.
44:03>> I know. It's crazy. Do you have a substation by the uh facility there >> in East Rutherford? Where do you where
44:08do they practice the Giants?
44:10>> New Jersey. No, they practice at the stadium. Yeah, Jeff in Floren Park.
44:15Yeah, we have a bubble and it's the swamp lands out there.
44:19>> Okay.
44:21>> All right. Just a couple more receivers to get to. We're going to talk Chris Bell. Uh, you know, I feel like you and
44:26I have kind of like been working up to this one. We've mentioned him on a few shows. 4% owned right now. He's
44:31available in 96% of leagues. I can do math, guys. I don't know how heavy you'd go on Fab Scott with the way the
44:38Dolphins offense has looked, but Chris Bell looks good and they need to get him the ball more. He looks explosive, especially on those runaway routes,
44:44those inbreakers. Looks very explosive.
44:47So, I >> Yeah, why don't you talk about >> Yeah.
44:51>> Chris Bell as a prospect. You were very high on him. You had a first round grade on him throwing out the the ACL and then
44:57how did he look week three only what 11 months removed from ACL surgery?
45:02>> Yeah. So when Scott says first round grade that that my film score on him was first round. I make manual adjustments
45:08based on what I call intangibles, you know, health record is one of those. At the time we didn't have great I I would
45:15say great information on where he was at in his recovery. Obviously he's was way ahead of schedule and and looks great.
45:22So um I think the thing that really like stood out to me as a prospect is he's got that just S tier physical profile.
45:286'2, 225, just ridiculous linear explosiveness.
45:33Um, his resume on inbreakers was second to none in this class. And that's not something college receivers are typically very good at, right? The
45:41college game is very linear. It's very vertical and screenheavy and and you know, hitchheavy. There's not a lot of like true inbreaking routes and and you
45:52know, Chris Bell just dominated on those routes. So, I was very bullish on that.
45:56Um, and I that's kind of what they're using him as right now. Like you saw yesterday he caught multiple crossers.
46:02He had I think he had a slant. He had a dig on a dagger concept where made up his four catches. So like very
46:08promising. He's a rookie already running these, you know, highle routes adjusted for his size and speed. So um I I like
46:14him a lot. I just I don't know that I'm a huge believer in the offense, though.
46:18>> Yeah. So I'll let you tear it out. Um B tier or A tier? Well, we did we did Caleb Douglas after week one and I think
46:25we a tiered him and now he's hurt. I think we got to do the same with Chris Bell. I think a tier I do like I think
46:31Malik Willis actually looked pretty good yesterday. That's the second week in a row. I thought he looked better better than the box score. He did add a rushing
46:38element to the game which definitely helped them at times. They were way more competitive than the score suggested they were as well. Maybe they're turning
46:45the corner a little bit on offense and and they're not going to draw the Kansas City Chiefs every week. So, um, yeah, I
46:52like A tier. I'd go, you know, two to 5% in the FAB.
46:56>> Yeah, I I'd be more aggressive in a keeper league. I think it's just like just doing even if this offense sucks,
47:02it's just doing the math at like, hey, they're going to be trailing constantly that that should be good for volume.
47:07Brett saw round one caliber talent based on film. Yeah.
47:11>> And uh Yeah. Yeah, I mean like dude, 72% snap share, seven targets, uh, four catches, 67 yards for a guy who like we
47:20really thought it was going to be like ramp up mode up until October. So, um, >> we just got a preeall update if you want
47:29it.
47:30>> Yeah, it's considered week to week, so nothing that's about what we figured, right? Week to week usually ends up being anywhere between two to five
47:37weeks. So, >> okay.
47:39>> All right, we got one more receiver to get to. Before we do though, I need your help, guys. If you're a listener of the
47:44show on YouTube right now, please like the video. Reply. Tell us the the waiverwire uh success you have. If you get one of these guys that we've s
47:54tiered or a tiered, tell us about it. If you disagree with us on a take, tell us about it. Also, please hype the video.
47:59There's a new feature on YouTube Mobile where you can actually hype the video.
48:03It just gives it a small little bump in the algorithm so more people find our content which helps us help you win
48:10fantasy leagues every single day.
48:12>> Bro, you could you could use all the help you can get. You're getting absolutely viewmogged by by Hayden and Josh out there in the
48:18>> Oh, am I the guys who've had a freaking podcast for 10 years? I'm getting viewed by them. Wow. Shocked.
48:23>> That's shocking to me, >> dude. They're crushing your numbers, bro.
48:26>> Yeah.
48:28All right, let's do uh M. Collins, New England Patriots wide receiver one, the uh the absolute legend, the barefoot
48:37maven. Matt Collins, this is S tier easily. Right. Right.
48:43>> I'm kidding.
48:44>> Uh I'm going to go F tier. I just like unless you can convince me otherwise.
48:49It's just like >> I can't >> Drake May looks absolutely awful. And then like I always called him the Mao Dong of quarterbacks because of how much
48:57he likes to spread the wealth around where like Stefan Diggs like couldn't even have two good games in a row. I I
49:04don't really trust Matt Collins to >> ninth year in the NFL to do that.
49:09>> I just want to say one thing though.
49:11It's not like he came out of nowhere.
49:13This guy had over 40 catches and 550 yards for them last year and two touchdowns. That was with Kahan Booty and
49:22I'm forgetting Stefan Digs, sorry. Kahan Booty and Stefon Diggs on the roster, you know. So, it's not like he's came out of nowhere. He has a rapport
49:31with Drake May already where clearly Romeo Dubs is not Maybe you're underelling this a little bit. Maybe this is real. At least until
49:39AJ Brown comes back, which will be at some point this season. Right. Right, Scott?
49:45>> Yeah.
49:45>> Can we go Dtier? Sure.
49:48>> Let's go Dtier.
49:511% of your fab for me.
49:53>> And if he if he does it again, >> I'm not spending a dollar of fab on.
49:59>> You always say upside wins championships, right?
50:02>> I don't see.
50:03>> This was a MVP runnerup last year. You would expect at some point they turn this thing around.
50:07>> Yeah. AJ Brown's going to be back what, week six.
50:11>> We don't know that.
50:12>> Do we know that? It's we're we're encouraged by he's already out of the boot and walking around.
50:18>> Okay. Well, if Matt Collins does it again, we'll we'll be having a very different conversation next week. So, >> all right. We're going to get to tight
50:25ends to wrap this show up, but before we do, we got to hear a quick word from Scott about fantasypoints.com.
50:30>> If you like fantasy football, I've got great news. Last year, our projections had the highest correlation to DraftKings fantasy points in the entire
50:39fantasy football industry. Our data is better, more accurate than what NFL teams were paying six figures for. With our new data suite 2.0, you get the
50:50level of access of NFL teams at literally 1,000th the price.
50:58>> That's probably a stupid business decision from a financial perspective, but those are the decisions you make when you're chasing greatness, when you
51:06want to be nothing more than the best football site on Earth.
51:11We're just a bunch of obsessive sickos who only care about football and being the best, most helpful football site on Earth. If that seems up your alley, go
51:21to fantasypoints.com and use [music] promo code great news for 15% off.
51:31Boom. Kenyan Sadi, uh, the guy you and I so eloquently battled each other against in the the draft cycle this year. Kenyan Sadi
51:41said, uh, Sadi Dez, never mind.
51:44Um, he balled out yesterday against the Lions who were having like a generationally bad run against tight ends through three weeks of the season.
51:51Um, and it was a I don't know like watching the game back this morning actually, I he made some ridiculous plays in this game.
52:00>> Oh, yeah.
52:01>> But I'm just not sure that the role is actually going to be there long term. I know they spent a first round pick on
52:06him, but Mason Taylor's going to come back. Jeremy Rucker was still like ridiculously involved. He had five catches in this game. May maybe like I
52:14don't want the listener to go blow their their fab wad on Kenyan Sadi and then be mightily disappointed. Are you in a
52:20similar boat as me or where you at?
52:22>> Well, I don't know. I want I want to hear your thoughts a bit more. Let's flesh this out. Um Kenyan Sadi or Arande
52:28Gatston?
52:32>> That was mean. That was freaking mean.
52:35Uh, I'll just say Kenyon CD because Ende Gadston is dead to me forever now after after yesterday. The Chargers hate him.
52:42Clearly, Alec Engold played more tight end than than Ende Gadson.
52:47>> Kenyan Sadique or Terren Ferguson.
52:52>> Rest of season, you're saying?
52:54>> Yeah.
52:56Oh, >> probably.
53:00>> I'd probably go Ferguson.
53:01>> Probably Ferguson.
53:02>> But it's close. It's close. So I I think it's close enough here. You have to go A tier or B tier for Kenyan Sadi. Hey,
53:08listen. Yeah, after a lot of debate on him as a prospect. Very unproductive uh given his his round one draft capital.
53:16He just had his first 100 yard game since high school. He looked unbelievable. That touchdown catch was incredible. Uh to be fair, Mason Taylor
53:23and the ascot Adami Mitchell were both out in this game. Um and even so, he still only had a 50% route share. And so
53:32you could take that one of two ways. You could say, "Hey, Frank Reich, his he always ranks top five in total team
53:39tight end fantasy points, but the top tight end never really does much. They because of this rotation, the sort of cannibalize each other's upside." And so
53:49you had Sadi with a 57% route share with Mason Taylor out. That's not encouraging. Or you could say, "Hey, this guy was a highly drafted rookie. he
53:57missed most of training camp and he already had a 57% route share and he was awesome. So that's going to continue to
54:03climb. Um because of that sort of nuance I think I think yeah there is upside here. So um Kenyan Sadi is either A tier
54:12or B yeah B tier. I guess we have six to eight% fab if you're desperate for a tight end and there's certain certainly
54:18teams that are um or keeper league maybe. He's he's a pretty good stash.
54:24So, um, probably four to six fab Btier.
54:30>> Four to 6% fab Btier.
54:33>> Yeah.
54:33>> Okay. I like that. And then we're going to hit Ferguson back to back with that.
54:37He's still available in 63% of leagues.
54:40>> Yeah. I'll let you correct me if I'm wrong here, but I'm going to go a tier and I don't know, five to 7% fab. And I know
54:49that's not how Tom Broly wrote it up, but um so Yupuka who who could be out six to eight weeks if he gets surgery.
54:57Um he so Tyler Higgy's route share went from 6% to 70 72%.
55:06Terren Ferguson's route share went from 67% to 13%.
55:10>> Cuz he's hurt, right?
55:11>> He got hurt in this game. He he uh reagravated an ankle injury. And so like dude, like every baseball bro is like
55:21taking victory laps after a week too where it's like Terrence Ferguson's the number two receiver. Um and so I wonder how much of that is the ankle where it's
55:30just hey Higgby stepped up and um Canada Mumfield stepped up. But maybe that actually is true. Maybe Terrence Ferguson is the number two. So, um, you
55:40know, a prospect you were really high on who actually was comparably productive to Kenyan Sadi out there in Oregon. Um, >> you know what's hilarious? By the way,
55:50>> go ahead.
55:51>> You were like, "Hey, he's a tier." And and the main point of your thesis for why was >> because he got hurt yesterday.
56:00>> Yeah, sure. [laughter and snorts] >> I just That's really funny. I I like I mean, you logicked into a big loop, but
56:07I I liked it. I'm just saying it was kind of funny that that's your that's your lead off is that he got hurt
56:11yesterday. He's eighth here tier cuz he got hurt.
56:15>> Dude, I I got to call my agent. I got to get out of this this show. This is >> Well, you don't you think I'm picking on
56:21you?
56:22>> Well, I'm getting bullied. YouTube chat, help me out here. Please tell Brett to stop bullying me.
56:28>> I was about to agree with you, but maybe now I won't.
56:30>> Listen, yeah, Puka potentially out six to eight weeks. Tons of upside in a Shawn McVey offense always and forever.
56:37And Ferguson was already touted to be a very big part of the offense even with a healthy pooka. But the other thing I
56:43want to point out, 17 targets to tight ends yesterday >> in their game versus the Broncos.
56:48Unfortunately, Ferguson missed a large part of that game because he was dealing with the ankle.
56:52>> But I think that's Scott's point. It's like the opportunity without Puke on the field is immense. He is going to be that
56:58guy when he's healthy. So, and we don't know how serious that injury is yet. So, totally agree. A tier. He's a freak
57:04athlete, great route runner. Um, he can play, you know, the wide receiver positions. He's basically an ex receiver. Just ask Brock Bowers.
57:13>> Uh, Kennado Mumfield, eight targets.
57:16Tyler Higgby, 11. And you wonder how much of that was just because Terrence Ferguson got hurt.
57:21>> And Davis Allen was involved, too. Kobe Parkinson got a target before he went out of the game. Like, they were they
57:26were thrown to the tight ends a ton. 17 tight end targets in that game. So, all right. Couple more guys to get to.
57:32Brenton Strange, Jacksonville Jaguars tight end. He's a he's a made man. and he got paid in the offseason and has had
57:36a a slowish start to the season, but he's starting to come on a little bit.
57:41Where are you at on Brenton Strange?
57:43>> Yeah, I'd go Ctier or Btier. I don't think there's a ton of long-term upside, but he's a great spot start against the
57:49Bengals. Since the start of last season, the Bengals have given up 20.5 fantasy points per game to tight ends. No one
57:55else is over 16.7. So yeah, just in this matchup, he's a great if you just if you only need a tight end for one week, um
58:03he's a great spot start.
58:06>> Brenton Strange is a classic example of better football player than he is fantasy player. Phenomenal football player, like legit baller, just won't
58:13have the role, especially not while you have the, you know, Meyers, Washington, BTJ, Josh Cameron, split at wide receiver. It's just kind of gross.
58:21though. Last one of the show for the week four waiverwire episode. Darren Waller, 14% owned. I believe he was on our list last week, too, wasn't he? I
58:32think I put him on there because he's this red zone red zone maven. Well, he got more work this week.
58:38>> So, he's not our last one. You you you're missing Jonah Coleman. Uh >> Jonah Coleman is a running back. We're
58:43We're done with running backs. Did I miss >> Well, he's on the show sheet. He's Look at Darren Waller's face on this pretty
58:48screen and look who's directly. Did you add him late?
58:51>> No.
58:52>> Come on.
58:53>> I could I couldn't do that. Maybe Trey did, >> but he was on the show sheet.
58:57>> So, let's let's do Darren Waller and then we'll circle back on Jonah Coleman to end the show. Um, you tell me here
59:03how how bullish can we be? He had a team high eight targets. He has three multiple touchdown games since his failed rap career. I kind of, but he's
59:14also still like under a 60% route share every week. I kind of don't want to buy into this, but then again, eight targets
59:22was really shocking to me. I would put him Dtier, but I I do want to hear your opinion on this.
59:27>> I mean, they've scaled his role each of the first three weeks, right? It scaled up each week. Am I wrong in saying that?
59:32>> Um, not really. Let's check the >> Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. I'm pretty sure it has, sir.
59:39>> So, I mean, he played 57 56% in week two, 55% in week three. So, it's again, how how often does a tight
59:50end with a route share under 60% become fantasy relevant? Almost never or basically never.
59:56>> He played third 40 plays. 40 plays yesterday.
60:00>> 55% route share.
60:01>> 55%. Okay.
60:04>> Yeah. I don't know. Um I I think he looks pretty >> trembble 35%. Mitchell Evans 18%. That's what we've always seen from the Panthers
60:12is this sort of Yeah. So, I would go Dtier, but >> like I said, eight targets was kind of shocking to me.
60:19>> He's streamable, right?
60:21>> Yeah.
60:22>> I think one thing that definitely stands out is when they get in the red zone, they're looking to him pretty often. And
60:28as I noted last week, they this collection of pass catchers, they just have answers for a lot of different things now where they didn't before. And
60:34I think that that's good. Not going to be consistent or dependable week to week. So, um yeah, Dtier is probably fine.
60:43Are you whistling while I'm talking?
60:46>> Taking a deep breath.
60:47>> Talking to my agent. Why you taking a deep breath? What's wrong with you?
60:50We're almost done with the show. And this was a great show.
60:52>> Let's get this over with. I need to call my agent as as soon as this end.
60:56>> Jonah Coleman. He's still available in 57% of leagues, but I'm guessing I know why. Uh, who wants to deal with this
61:03backfield? Scott, >> I think I kind of do. You know, we we hyped him up because JK Dobbins looked hurt. RJ Harvey looked hurt and then
61:12ironically Jonah Coleman who we thought was healthy got hurt. It later came out that he picked up a high ankle sprain on
61:19his first touch of the game of week two but he was still really efficient and JK Dobbins by just about every measure has
61:28been one of the least efficient running backs in football. He's also not getting targets. That's the RJ Harvey rule. Um I don't know.
61:39It depends on your league. In a deeper league, he's absolutely a stash or an ad. Yeah, in a shallow league, you kind
61:46of don't have the luxury or if you have three IR spots or whatever, he's great.
61:50But you probably don't have the luxury.
61:52He's still to me like a player I'm bullish on long term. You know, I I think he comes back I I think in the
61:59second half he gets a real shot at winning this backfield. I I think for now he's he has to be D tier, but once
62:08again, you're talking about a top your Waverwire watch list. Like I think Jonah Coleman's going to be a name to to know
62:16and and not forget about even if over the next few weeks like we stopped talking about him.
62:22>> It is interesting. RJ Harvey was basically written off in the run game.
62:26>> Yeah.
62:26>> They just said no thank you. Two carries to JK Dobbins 17. So that's definitely notable especially because Jonah Coleman's an every down back. So, like
62:35there's a chance if he works into the lineup and starts to carve out a role, he can actually do both jobs. He could
62:40do Dobbins and Harvey's job. And I think that's that is definitely notable. So, >> right.
62:45>> All right, that is it for the week four waiverwire episode. We will be back every day this week helping you win
62:52fantasy leagues. Thank you so much for sticking with us. We are out.
