0:49It is a great day to break down all things from an ever eventful week seven of NFL football. We'll be going through
0:55the fantasy football usage takeaways, trying to figure out Tony Pollard's three touchdown day was real, freaking the heck out because of course we can
1:02still never figure out what Rams tight end is going to score touchdowns. This week it was Davis Allen. All that and
1:07much, much more. Of course, joining me as always, we got Fantasy Life director of analytics, all around baller, Dwayne "The Rock" McFarland. Mr. Dwayne, how
1:14are you?
1:15>> What's up, Ian? I'm doing good, man. Uh super excited to be talking football with you, you know? How about you? How
1:22are things in your world? Great. Uh they're always great.
1:25>> Usually, Dwayne, I did sprain my I was golfing and when we go golfing on weekends, we bring a football, right?
1:31So, you're having to wait behind people, you have something to throw around. And my buddy threw me a long pass and I
1:36unfortunately stepped on a branch and sprained the hell out of my foot and ankle or something. I came down with the
1:41ball, though, to be clear.
1:43>> And you did get back out there and finish the round?
1:45>> No, I took one more swing and I was like, "Good god, man, get me another beer and then get me off this golf
1:50course." But, you know, still a fun day overall. And I got to sell my couch today, Dwayne, so life could be worse.
1:56>> [laughter] >> Well, I can't believe that you didn't play through it. You are a tough dude, Ian, but so it must be bad, man. So, I
2:02hope you feel better.
2:03>> Again, we we caught the ball, just to be clear on that. But, anyway, we'll we'll we'll stop going through all that,
2:09everyone. We appreciate you hanging out, as always. And with that, going through all the action in week 11, winding back the clock to that 9:30 a.m. kickoff in
2:16Paris, the Steelers took down the Saints 16-10. Pittsburgh winning and covering us three-point phase under Cassio with ease here at 43 and a half. So, Aaron
2:25Rodgers had his four-straight game streak of throwing multiple touchdowns.
2:28That was snapped. Still did find big man Darnell Washington in the end zone, though, from about 5 yards out.
2:34Absolutely hilarious watching that dude again just moss all these small other human beings out there. So, still, all in all, you know, a fairly good day for
2:41the Steelers team, got the W and everything. Just didn't make it the fireworks that we're hoping for. DK Metcalf had a nice 50-yard catch
2:47downfield. Otherwise, he was pretty much shut out. And Jeremy Bernard, Dwayne, just three catches for 27 yards. Look, still far more good than bad from
2:54Bernard over the last couple weeks, but did anything go on here from a usage standpoint, or just a rough day at the
2:59office?
3:00>> Just a rough day at the office, man.
3:01Both of those guys had 97% route share.
3:04So, essentially just not leaving the field. 18% target share for Bernard today. So, you had five targets. Still in the same underneath kind of role,
3:11playing from the slot 32% of the time.
3:1340% of his targets came on play action.
3:15So, like the underlying data, still all the stuff that we want to see, you know, we just you know, if you play in a role
3:21like that, we need like a 25, 26% target share. Like we'll talk about K.C.
3:25Conceição here in a little bit, right?
3:27Plays a role similar role, you know, in his offense. Been a little bit up and down, but I think we feel better overall
3:32about Aaron Rodgers as a passer versus what we have with the Brown. So, I think more good days ahead for Bernard. We'll
3:38see what happens whenever we get Michael Pittman back, and eventually Roman Wilson, you know, we never can tell for sure what these coaches are going to do,
3:44but yeah, I think for right now, until those guys are back, like I'll still be starting Bernard. He's going to be in
3:49the top 36 wide receivers, no doubt.
3:52>> And the goodness of these pass catches they're always getting fantasy friendly opportunities at the goal line. The Steelers have now had nine snaps inside
3:58the five-yard line this year and And Rodgers has called his own number, aka a pass, on eight of them. So, again, went
4:03to Washington this week, but would expect there to be better at future opportunities there for what's still a pretty condensed wide receiver room in
4:09Pittsburgh. Of course, right in the real star of the show was Jaylen Warren, man.
4:12Went out there and just did Jaylen Warren things, aka looked like this generation's Austin Ekeler putting up all kinds of fantasy points. 101 rushing
4:20yards, 36 receiving yards. He now stands as the RB 11 in PPR points per game. So, Rico Dowdle was, you know, annoyingly
4:26involved, I guess, because Dwayne, according to fantasy Twitter, if Rico Dowdle plays a single snap, I think that's uh too involved. So, look, I
4:33mean, we all want our fantasy players to go out there and have 30-plus touches, but I'll take 21 for Jaylen Warren, man.
4:38Look, if Rico was completely out of the picture, yeah, we could be talking about top three highs for Warren. Like that
4:43fact is not lost upon me, but still a rock-solid RB1, and I'm happy about that.
4:48>> Yeah, I mean, Warren, he had 62% of the snaps today, 67% of the rushing attempts. So, you talked about it, 18
4:54carries, took it for 101 yards, 5.6 yards per pop. 11% of his carries went for 10-plus yards. So, Jaylen Warren just doing Jaylen Warren things.
5:02Um but we didn't We did have Rico Dowdle get nine attempts of his own, 41 yards, and he also was good, 4.6 yards per
5:08carry, and he had uh 11% of his carries also go for 10-plus yards. So, a little bit tighter than maybe what folks wanted
5:16to see, Ian, but both of them ended up still getting there, 16.7 PPR points today for Warren. You know, obviously, you get a touchdown, that looks a lot
5:23better, and then you had Rico Dowdle with 14.6 PPR points. The one thing to note with Warren, uh and this kind of
5:30goes back to week one, guys, still dealing with really small samples here, kind of throwing last week out a little bit because it was Dowdle's first game
5:37back, but we did see it uh happen again where more of the routes went to Dowdle.
5:42So, 56% route share to Dowdle, 47% route share to Jaylen Warren. And like we know that's where Jaylen Warren's good at everything, but like that's
5:51where the magic can come whenever he's out there, he could get those receptions.
5:55So we'll just have to kind of keep an eye on that. But for me, yeah, I've had Jaylen Warren sitting as a
6:00mid-range running back two, waiting on Rico Dowdle to come back. I didn't move him after last week because it was really Dowdle's first game. I think I'm
6:07probably keeping him in a similar range, like mid-range running back two to high-end running back two, but man, in any given game, like you know,
6:15ceiling-breaking top three running back for the week, you know, whenever things break his way. Like just like today, like if he scores a touchdown or two,
6:22like this is a massive outing. Like so I mean this is a really nice floor. He didn't score a touchdown and he still
6:27got 16.7 PPR points.
6:30>> So again, could have a little bit more potentially like we saw when Rico was out of the picture, but still feeling
6:35awfully good about Jaylen. Where Rico guys, I know you're not exactly thrilled about flexing the dude, but do try to keep him on that bench cuz similar to
6:41Jaylen Warren, sky sky-high handcuff upside got forbid something happens to Mr. Warren out there. So congrats to the five and two Pittsburgh Steelers.
6:48They'll be home against the Browns trying to get some revenge for that earlier season loss here in next Sunday.
6:53Meanwhile, for the Saints Dwayne, 17 rushes for 18 yards on the day, man.
6:59Just absolutely brutal. Alvin Kamara, Kendre Miller, and briefly C.J.
7:03Donaldson before he got knocked out with what I believe was a shoulder injury.
7:06Just nothing doing on the ground.
7:08Luckily for Kamara, PPR scanned his way, you know, seven catches, 57 yards. And he has shown a little bit more juice
7:13this year, I think, to be fair to last year. Now, bar was very, very low.
7:17That's not lost on me, but RB 24 in PPR points per game this season. Would hope that Travis Etienne could be back here
7:22after the Saints week week eight bye, excuse me there. So overall though, man, just another fairly underwhelming performance from Tyler Shough and his
7:30passing offense as a whole. Chris Olave, who of course is very, very good at football. We all realize that. He is a
7:35legit wide receiver one in fantasy and real life, but three straight games now under 60 yards. Rashid Shaheed valley the day with a nice, you know, short
7:43touchdown, but Juwan Johnson, man, third straight game that he got absolutely nothing going. Hopefully, Dwayne they can use this bye week to get healthier,
7:50looking at you, Etienne, and also Jordan Tyson, and hopefully bring out the good version of Taysom Hill, man, cuz it's been a minute.
7:57>> Yeah, I mean, well, Taysom still threw for 278 today. He had 7 yards per attempt. Uh, you know, he wasn't pushing
8:02it down the field, a really low average depth of target today, and we've seen that a couple of times now.
8:07Uh, only five, uh, average depth of target as far as the yards down field on his target. So, um, he still got He gave
8:13you 13.8 fantasy points. You weren't happy with it, but the one thing to remember with him, he had two more design runs today for 2 yards. They were
8:20both inside the 5-yard line.
8:22So, like, maybe eventually they decide they don't want to keep doing the tush push. It hasn't been super successful with him,
8:28but right now they continue to do it.
8:30So, I mean, I think Taysom Hill is still holding steady as like a low-end QB1, and he has upside. The The play volume
8:36has been down for the Saints. That's the bigger issue I'm seeing. Obviously, last week, you know, Taysom didn't throw for a lot of yards, but he threw the
8:42touchdowns, and that's how they got there. But early on in the year, Ian, we were getting these like 65, 70 play
8:47games from the Saints. And like, the tempo and all that's still there, but they're struggling to keep some of their drives alive. So, they're having more
8:54three-and-outs and things like that, and then, you know, their defense can't get the other offense off the field, so that flips time of possession away. And to
9:01me, that's been the biggest challenge.
9:02Their Their defense, you know, can't stop the other team, and that's driving down the play volume here for the Saints. Now, part of that's on the
9:08offense, like, you got to get your first downs. You get your first downs, you stay on the field, you do a better job.
9:12So, I think that's the biggest kind of like macro trend, I think, with the Saints. But I do think, you know,
9:17getting healthier after the bye, I think that's a real positive. I think based on what we've seen now, I'm hoping, Ian, that they're just like,
9:24you know, like, the Kendre Miller thing was kind of fun, you know, he did his job while we needed him to, but we're
9:28just going to give all of this to Travis Etienne. Like, we did pay the guy. Let's just get him going. Kamara will probably
9:34still play the passing down role a decent amount. To your point. That's where he's looked good. I think that makes sense.
9:40But Jordan Tyson, man, like he could be a real spark plug for the offense. Just got to hope that the hamstring can hold
9:45up. The only thing I want to call out here, I think you covered everything. I think Olave's fine, guys.
9:50He's still going to He's going to get there. The offense just needs to turn around the things we just talked about.
9:55But I will say with Juwan Johnson, second game in a row and we're sitting here with a lower route participation rate. It was 56%.
10:0359% today. Last week, he still played a lot of the snaps, but he was having to block because of the matchup that they
10:09had. Today, they just took the snaps and the routes away. He only had a 56% snap share, but he was out there 59% of pass
10:16plays. So, Juwan Johnson, not necessarily someone guys that I feel like you really need to hold through the bye week, especially knowing we could
10:22really get We could get Jordan Tyson back that following game. So, I don't think he's a must hold through your bye
10:27week.
10:29>> Get those hamstrings healthy, Etienne and Tyson, we'll see after the bye.
10:32We're actually in a pretty nice stretch here for the Saints offense. Guys, again, they indeed play better on their own right, but in week nine, they go
10:38ahead and get the Browns, then Panthers, Bears, Bengals, Packers, Panthers, Bucks, Cardinals, and the Falcons through week 17. I know some of those
10:45defenses are better than others, but none of those names are particularly terrifying me, you know?
10:50Moving on to the 1:00 p.m. slate, guys.
10:52We had the Falcons, speaking of, take down the previously undefeated 49ers, but no longer, 29 to 20, Atlanta winning outright as two and a half point dogs
10:59under cash here at 50 points. So, kudos to the Falcons, very clean game, zero turnovers, zero sacks allowed. Saw the 49ers get up a little bit on them early,
11:08but Michael Penix and company largely stayed calm and went ahead and ate that W at the end. So, not one, not two, but
11:13three passing touchdowns from Michael Penix, one of which finally went to Drake London. Guys, our long national nightmare is finally over. First
11:20receiving touchdown of the year. Dwayne the new leader for the Deonte Johnson Memorial Award for the most targets without a receiving touchdown. Josh
11:28Downs with 46, which is very unfortunate. But Drake London doing his things. He's been incredible per route this year. He's averaging over 3 yards
11:35per route run. Just good to see him go finally get that touchdown. And also passes his concussion test. So, great job there. Definitely saw Jahan Dotson
11:42fall back to earth. Saw Zachariah Branch, you know, do a little bit here.
11:45Look, it's Drake London in the wide receiver room. That's it.
11:48>> However, Dwayne, can I can I interest you in a little bit of Kyle Pitts, man?
11:52Four touchdowns in his last three games.
11:54I think he's passing the eye test. I mean, this dude's been a top five, top six tight end in fantasy land for the
11:59better part of the last month now.
12:00>> Yeah, and I think a big part of it, like what we've seen, you know, number one, like they're giving more routes. Now, it
12:04was down to 65% today. Like we had seen him in the 70% range in three out of the last four games. But but still, it wasn't like in
12:12the 40s, like we had seen earlier in the season. So, basically, I think the thing with Pitts is it kind of comes down to
12:18the game scripts. If you look at the games where, you know, the Falcons have really been able to run the ball and
12:23they're in a lead, we're not seeing as much Pitts. But now, like they're just ending up in more of these games where
12:28the other offense is pushing them. And I think those games are really safe for Pitts.
12:32I know, guys, you're listening to this and you're going, "Good luck. How do we figure out which games those are?" And I
12:36I totally understand. It can be maddening. Like you would have thought in this game, you probably get an 80% route share from Pitts because you're
12:42playing the 49ers. Like I mean, but this the Falcons played really good football today. But still, to your point, I I
12:48think the other key though is like what they've done with his average depth of target and his average route depth. Early on in the year, he was kind
12:54of back playing that more vertical seam stretcher where it was more like these hit-or-miss kind of games. And here over these last few weeks, they're using him
13:02more around the line of line of scrimmage. And to your point, like when you have Drake London really working all the intermediate and then deeper stuff,
13:08then that really means like, "Okay, who's going to clean up underneath if it's not Bijan?" And that has been Kyle Pitts. So, I think that's a real
13:14positive develop from development for him because really last year when we saw him boom at the end of the year, I know,
13:19guys, part of it was Drake London was out for several of those games. And yeah, I'm not arguing that. But the
13:24other thing that they did is they put him in a a role like this. And when you think about Pitts like he is a good
13:29athlete. He's not like a real good like make you miss kind of guy but really good linear speed. He can beat angles,
13:34do all those sort of things. So I think that these are positives for Kyle Pitts.
13:38The only other thing I would mention, you know, with the Falcons is more like a like this high level takeaway and it's
13:44probably more just on Penix, Ian. Like Penix like I know he's not throwing for like massive yardage totals but like just watching him play
13:51he's really passing the eye test for me in my opinion. Like he just puts the money right on the dot I mean he puts
13:57the ball right on the dot. Like he's money in really critical situations. Not a not afraid to push balls into coverage
14:03and and that can lead to interceptions but it also leads to really big upside cuz that's where you get your touchdowns
14:08from. You hear the some quarterbacks, Ian, where people like yeah, well he doesn't turn the ball over and then you're like yeah, but when you look at
14:13it it's cuz he doesn't really try to score touchdowns either. Like he's just checking the ball down. So and it's a
14:18fine line that you have to walk, you know, between those two things but I think that Penix is doing a really good
14:22job of that. 23.1 and 20.4 fantasy points the last two weeks.
14:27>> Averaging eight yards per attempt, that's tied with T-Law and Jared Goff.
14:31Man, he is putting up some good numbers right now. Fifth in the NFL and passer rating, which yes is a little bit more
14:36of a team stat but guess what? Show me a stat that isn't at least somewhat of a team stat and I'd be very surprised. So
14:41if you guys do know anything out there, definitely holler. But yeah, again, exciting stuff from the Falcons. Also got a short touchdown to Nick Muse. We
14:48got Khalil Herbert actually doing a couple nice things with Brian Robinson out of the picture, which has led to another I would say fairly underwhelming
14:55game from Bijan Robinson but when he gets 16 PPR points from Bijan Robinson you know better days will be ahead. So
15:01again, congrats to the Falcons. They'll have an AFC NFC South, excuse me, showdown against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers here in week eight.
15:08Meanwhile, for San Francisco 49ers, four turnovers on the day, two interceptions from Brock Purdy. Also had Kaelin Black lose a fumble. Jordan James also
15:16fumbled, did not lose it. So it seems like, you know, both those backups are kind of one for one now. And then
15:21Christian McCaffrey went out there, did his thing, caught six passes, also, you know, skyed into the air to basically dive over the goal line to get a short
15:29rushing touchdown after Keelan couldn't quite get through. Did see him miss a big chunk of the first half though with a thigh injury. Luckily, he wasn't too
15:36banged up to return in the second half.
15:38So, that is just a big thing here, Dwayne. The 49ers, they have a Week 8 bye, thankfully, cuz then we could
15:43actually get some actual NFL wide receivers out there playing because from what I heard, shout out to Davis Mattek, he was saying on the broadcast they
15:50actually said Christian Kirk was only active as an emergency option. Did we see that play out in this banged up wide
15:56receiver room?
15:57>> Yeah, I mean, well, he played 34% of the pass plays, so I mean, I don't I'm emergency I would think like you just
16:03don't get to go out there unless unless someone else is hurt. But, yeah, I mean, he was it was his first game back. He
16:08played 40% from the slot, but I I don't think there's a ton of takeaways here for the 49ers. Most of it's probably
16:14around making sure a Keelan Black, right, is rostered just in case CMC has a more long-term injury than we hope.
16:20Like you said, we get the bye week, but with all of these receivers and stuff, like Brandon Cooks, 83% of the routes,
16:25he was followed up by Jordan Watkins, 73%. Watkins actually did have a really nice catch, you know, where the ball moved whenever he landed, you know, he
16:32did a great job getting his feet down and all that. Really close. That was a Dez caught it mo- moment kind of thing
16:38he [laughter] and his what I was thinking of.
16:40Uh but, like you you're just not holding any of these players through the bye week, right? You're not holding Brandon Cooks, Jordan Watkins, Jacob Cow, like
16:46you're going to have to move on from them to make other moves to cover for whatever buys you may have. So, I think
16:52it's just really all around making sure that Keelan Black, if you're playing in a league where he is not rostered, he
16:57should be. And so, I know a lot of you are like, "Not in my league, pal." Well, great. Not in our leagues mostly either,
17:02but I'm in like a couple company leagues here where, you know, we have shorter rosters to keep it like a different kind
17:07of league, and Keelan Black sitting out there.
17:10>> Again, hopefully Mike Evans will be ready to go after the bye, and hopefully we hear from De'Shawn Shivers before too
17:14long, Dwayne. The return was supposed to be around the 10 to 12 week range. Yeah, so still going to be a little bit, but
17:21you know what? November's right around the corner. So, get better soon. Would be awesome to see the strip club back in
17:26action here for the regular season.
17:28Otherwise, yeah, George Kittle, no touchdowns on National Tight End Day, unfortunately, but still caught eight of 10 targets for 88 yards. Just lost a
17:35fumble, which isn't ideal, but yeah, I like the moral of the story. Make sure you got Kaelan Black. Even though we
17:39wouldn't be crossing off, you know, CMC's name in the top five, Dwayne, and putting Kaelan there, I mean, you guys see what his back ranks look like,
17:46particularly with four teams on by.
17:48Really, really have a hard time believing he'd be outside the top 15 and honestly, probably even outside the top 12.
17:53>> Yeah, he had he had a fumble, but just ran hard. Like just watching him, you know, like I mean, 5.3 yards per carry and I like
18:00this is a dude that's like just looking for contact. I mean, that could end up getting him hurt, but yeah. Yeah, we can
18:05move along.
18:06>> Browns took down the Titans 27 to 24, Cleveland winning outright as two point favorites over the cashier at 37. So,
18:13Browns, man, 491 total yards, 7.4 yards per play. Deshaun Watson looked good again. It's been a roller coaster this year, but you know what? In the past, it
18:21just wasn't even a roller coaster. It was just one horrific game after another for the most part. This year, came out
18:27bad in week one, put together three really good games, fell back down in weeks five and six, and here he is in
18:32week seven doing his thing. 308 passing yards through the air. Also ran for his first touchdown of the year, and now
18:38Dwayne has an NFL high five game-winning drives, which is a little bit of a ridiculous stat because, you know, some of those game-winning drives are a
18:45defense, you know, forces a turnover and you basically move the ball 10 yards.
18:49Honestly, in today's case, I think Carol Fanin should be the one getting credit for the game-winning drive with that awesome YAC mode play, but hey, Deshaun
18:56Watson was a capable, if not good, NFL quarterback today, and because of that, we got to see the breakout game from
19:02Casey Conceicao.
19:03>> Yeah, 300 yards passing today from Deshaun Watson. Deshaun Watson, right?
19:08Typically, we're in like that two to the range. And so, that was huge. The other part with Kasey Concepcion, which is
19:14what we've talked about quite a bit, like his average route depth actually shows that he's kind of playing in that sweet spot that we want, but it felt
19:20like the targets didn't feel like the targets we were actually getting were lower than that, right? And so we've talked about that, but today it was on
19:2611.1 average depth of target, so 111 air yards for Kasey Concepcion, which he converted into eight catches for 129 yards. He also carried the ball three
19:36times for 22 yards. So, doing all the things we love, 23.2 PPR points, 29% target share, 44% time from the slot,
19:44and 31% of his targets came on play action. I don't have the motion data yet, but watching that game, he was in
19:50motion plenty. So, all the cheat codes are there for Concepcion, and this just shows you whenever Watson does have like this kind of ceiling game as a passer,
19:58this is what you can get from a player like this. So, this this one had been building for a while, man. I think we
20:03knew like the underlying data's there, but can we just get a good passing game from Deshaun, and then he we do, and it
20:08all comes together.
20:10>> Honestly, should've been even bigger. I mean, over 150 total yards, I don't think Kasey or our managers are complaining or anything, but he did
20:16have, I believe, his first drop of the season on what would have been a 40-yard gain, if not even a 50-yard touchdown.
20:22On a Yeah, on a deep ball down the sideline. So, great to see the fact that he is still getting some air yards
20:26downfield opportunities, in addition to some of the short, more gadgety yak stuff. Look, Dwayne, we're not going to be ranking him as a top 24 wide receiver
20:33next week, but he'll still be firmly in that wide receiver three range, and after this, I mean, I'll certainly be more willing to put him in the starting
20:39lineup.
20:39>> Yeah, for sure. I mean, he I think I had him at like wide receiver 30 this week with four teams on bye, with several
20:44teams that have receivers that we like.
20:45We also had quite a few injuries this week. So, those kind of things bumped him up. Typically, like you're thinking of Kasey Concepcion more as like a
20:52boom-bust wide receiver four, but like there is a chance like he could work his way into like, you know, earning our
20:57trust as a regular wide receiver three.
21:00Uh even whenever we don't have a bunch of teams on bye. Which, you don't have to worry about that for a while, guys,
21:04cuz we have plenty of bye weeks still coming.
21:06>> Of course, with Kasey going off, bit of a letdown uh day for Denzel Boston.
21:10Back-to-back ones if you are keeping score at home. Caught just three of eight targets for 27 scoreless yards.
21:15Did have a week-high 112 unrealized air yards though. So, was still getting downfield opportunity, but when you play that game, you will see these busts come
21:22to fruition. Also, another relatively dead game for Mr. Jerry Jeudy. Just 21 yards. And even more concerning, Dwayne, we got the report before the game that
21:30because the Browns are doing good and everyone likes them some Jerry Jeudy, they actually do not be they are not planning on trading him. At least that's
21:36what these insiders are telling us. Do they actually know anything about anything? That's a question for another day. But, for now, Jerry Jeudy, again,
21:42looking more slim than about him maybe maybe finding his way to the Chiefs or the Rams or one of these other wide
21:47receiver needy teams. So, yeah, if you are sick enough in the head, like me a little bit, to still be holding on the
21:53bench, probably don't need to keep doing so. I mentioned Irv Smith Jr. having the big yak play in OT. That was great to
21:58see. 91 yards on the day. Did lose a fumble earlier, but certainly a nice step in the right direction. Still think
22:04it's going to be tough to be replicating that with how much they are mostly designing the shorter stuff for Concepcion, but still a good example,
22:11you know, when I was coming on here last week, Dwayne, saying like, "Oh, are we sure that Fant was even all that good?"
22:15You know, it's good for him to stuff me in a locker and put me in my place for once, you know.
22:19>> Yeah, I mean, we you know, we talked about it. I don't think you were you were not really being serious. You
22:23didn't think he was good. You you know that he's good. It's just it's a crowded offense that doesn't throw for a ton of
22:29yards each week. So, it's a little bit of like a roulette wheel. This game, you know, we got two guys, but it's because
22:35like we said, we threw for the team threw for over 300 yards, right? And when that happens, you can have two of these guys go off. It might
22:42be Boston and Fant, and it might be Concepcion and Fant, you know, but you're going to get two of them. But,
22:46most games we're not getting that. And so, it's like one of them can do it, right? And then the rest of the guys or
22:51they all just kind of cancel each other out. So, it's still it's still a problematic passing game. We'll see if Deshaun Watson can kind of keep these
22:58good vibes going, but uh yeah. Fant is still just sitting there for me as a low-end tight end one. That's kind of
23:04where we've been keeping him, borderline tight end one. Very very good player, just crowded offense.
23:10>> Also got the return of not one, but two running backs, Quinshon Judkins and Dylan Sampson back in action, and both
23:15of them looked pretty damn good, man. 96 yards and a pair of rushing scores for Mr. Judkins. He even ripped off a
23:2030-yard run, which was great to see considering his longest of the year was just 14 yards. And in Sampson's case, man, converted six carries into 45 yards
23:28and also chipped in three catches for 32 yards. So, again, not a situation we can be expecting too many weekly goal line
23:35opportunities for Judkins, but this is yet another game now where he's shown the ability to certainly make the most of those ops. And then Sampson doing his
23:42thing in the passing game, just good to see him be a potential, you know, PPR flex sort of helper down the stretch, or
23:47probably more likely just more of a handcuff stash. But, what did we see from the return here, Dwayne? Was it still kind of that 50-50 split we saw
23:54before the injuries?
23:55>> Yep, exactly.
23:56Um, as far as snaps go, basically 50-50.
23:5852% of the snaps for Jud for Judkins, 47% for Sampson. And really in the roles you would have expected. Early down work
24:05mostly working through Judkins. He had 61% of the carries today, 17 attempts, which he took for 96 yards, 5.6 yards per attempt. By far his best outing.
24:16Uh, two touchdowns. And man, 18% of his carries went for 10 plus yards. But, only 29% route share, one target today
24:22because those did go to Sampson. Which, you know what, guys, it just makes sense. If you guys have watched Dylan Sampson as a receiver, that's really
24:28honestly how they should be playing it.
24:30Like, they should probably be playing these guys in these in these exact roles that they have them in. So, 47% route
24:36share for Mr. Sampson today, but only handled 21% of the attempts. Now, he was also electric. Six for 45, 7.5 yards per
24:43carry. 17% of his carries went for 10 plus yards. But, the big thing, he tacked on three catches for 32 yards,
24:49and that helped get to helped to get you to 10.7 PPR points today. I agree with you, Sampson's going to be more of a PPR
24:56running back for You might be able to get him in there here or there. But I think the other thing is just like the
25:02potential like upside contingency value, right? Not that he would take over the entire backfield if Judkins were to miss more time, but I do think he's a good
25:10enough player that he would get more than 21% of the attempts. And also I just look at the rest of the depth chart
25:14and I was like, "Okay, there's some guys that are okay. Audric Estimé and eventually maybe they get Rocket Sanders back." But I think that Samson might be
25:21closer to like 45-50%, you know, of the rushing attempts in a scenario like that. We already know he's a good receiver.
25:28>> Five and two Browns will take on the five and two Pittsburgh Steelers next week. AFC North, man, once again putting
25:33four pretty darn good football teams out there for us and we appreciate them for that. Meanwhile, for the Titans again, give a spirited effort. We We saw Cam
25:41Ward and company tie things up late in the fourth quarter for Deuce Vaughn to get that game-winning drive. And the first place, so certainly weren't
25:46quitting out there. Unfortunately, though, managed to passing game still couldn't get a ton going. 181 scrimmage yards from Cam Ward. Almost got one to
25:53Carnell Tate late. He made a nice back shoulder catch at the goal line just out of bounds before getting there. He ended
25:58up having a very nice 69 yards, caught five of seven targets. Did lose a fumble, but hey, still a wide receiver
26:0433 in PPR points per game, Dwayne. And honestly, just we've had some duds out there, but I think it's three of his last four or so
26:10that we've seen him catch, you know, five or six passes for 50-60 plus yards.
26:14And like he had obviously the 100-plus yard booms in there, as well. So, I would just say all things considered, like I've been pleasantly surprised with
26:21the sort of floor we've had for the number four overall pick.
26:23>> Yeah, I agree. 9.9 PPR points, you know, as your floor in an offense that only threw for 181 yards. And look, guys,
26:30here's what I'm going to say about Carnell Tate. I think it's pretty apparent right now. Like, okay, obviously, first of all, you're the
26:36number four pick in the draft, like you just said, Ian.
26:39Uh he's a guy that the rookie supermodel really did like beyond just his draft capital. The biggest concern was what?
26:46Oh, he's just this outside vertical contested catch guy. And he was really good at that in college. But this is another example showing you that you
26:53don't always know a player's full skill set and the way that they're going to use them when they get to the NFL,
26:58especially when you come from a program like Ohio State that has all these different versatile weapons and you kind of get slotted into a role. We saw this
27:05with Amari Cooper last year, right? It's like, oh, he's going to be an underneath slot target and what does he do? Like
27:10he's like has like a 16 A dot like for the first like five games of the season.
27:14And so just be careful about like boxing these guys in because they're not just playing Tate on the boundary. Played uh
27:2030% of his routes today from the slot.
27:23Uh actually more 29% of his routes today from the slot. Like he's got a really good average route depth. He's not a guy
27:29just working vertical. He's not one of these like guys that are just, you know, stuck on the boundary and just like,
27:34okay, like well, if we happen to get a single high look or whatever and you get single coverage, we'll throw it to you.
27:39No, they're they're really like integrating him in the offense. The challenge is when you look at the plays per game, when you look at the yards per game,
27:46that that's what's really holding him down. And so we ultimately need like a step forward from Cam Ward. Will we ever
27:52get that like this season? I I don't know. I I can't really tell you that.
27:55What I can say is they ran more plays today. So that was at least a positive.
27:58They ran 62 plays. It's a team that was averaging 52 coming into the game. So I'm with you. I think, you know, you
28:04know what the floor is. What I'd say guys if like you want to paint a picture or like put a face like to what the
28:09floor is, it's Drake London in his rookie year. We all knew he was good.
28:13We're like, man, look at these yards per route run. Look at the targets per route run. Look at the target share.
28:17Everything of the underlying data told us he was good. But he still finishes a wide receiver four. Why? Cuz he was on
28:22an offense that averages like 163 passing yards per game. So that's where the floor is with Tate, but to your point, I mean, you kind of saw it today.
28:29You still got 10 fantasy points out of it.
28:32>> It's good they're getting that slot work. That's going to help him out next week against the Bengals and DJ Turner
28:36who does regularly shadow number one receivers, but usually is not traveling to the slot with him. So best of luck with Tate in that match up. I did want
28:43to shout out Wan'Dale Robinson on a very, very Wan'Dale Robinson performance. Four catches for 7 yards on uh six targets. So, good for you,
28:51Wan'Dale. Thank you for your service, but bury the lead here, guys, because guess what? I believe the highest-scoring fantasy player of the
28:57day none other than Mr. Tony Pollard.
28:59Buck 29, not one, not two, three touchdowns on the ground. Honestly, almost had a fourth, got stuffed at the goal line twice on a different drive,
29:07and also chipped in 26 receiving yards.
29:09So, 36.5 PPR points. Dwayne, he only had 51 his first six games combined. Just top 10 running back the rest of the way,
29:17Tony Pollard, right? Like that's our takeaway here. Easily.
29:20>> Hey, man, I'll tell you what. Like I've talked about Tony Pollard. He's not a guy that I've drafted a lot, but I do
29:25have him in one dynasty league, and I just felt like this was the right spot.
29:28I started him today, Ian, and it's a superflex league where I've got one quarterback injured, another quarterback was on by. So, I had one, and I was
29:35like, Tony Pollard, you're going in the lineup, buddy. And man, he scored like a quarterback today with those 36 and 1/2
29:42fantasy points. And you know, I watched a lot of that. I mean, he looked good to his credit. Like Tony Pollard like
29:48looked like a very good running back today. We didn't have Tajae Spears active. They also decided not to have Nick Singleton active. Tajae Spears was
29:54battling a little bit of an injury last week, but he at least had limited practices. I was kind of surprised just
29:59as he did that he was inactive today, but yeah.
30:01>> I think it happened Friday, Dwayne, cuz it was it was initially he was listed as rest, and then on Friday they added knee
30:09and moved him down to limited. Cuz I thought he was fine, too, until that final thing came out on Friday.
30:13>> Yeah. So, so yeah, look, I mean, and and here's the thing with Pollard, uh he was already getting 80% snap shares with
30:19Tajae Spears available. I mean, so and he basically did that again today, 74% of the snaps, 86% of the rushing attempts, 25 carries. They spelled him a
30:28little bit in the pass game with Michael Carter, who's good in that kind of role.
30:31We've seen him do that for multiple years, but that didn't start that didn't stop Pollard still from adding three catches for 26 yards.
30:37>> Yeah.
30:38So, >> I I What I would say, big thing on Pollard is like if you can, like you sell high. Like, I
30:44don't know if you'll find someone in your league that does that, but like it's you know, it's an offense where you
30:48know you're not going to get these kind of performances very often. You probably this he won't score these this many points again in a game this year. I
30:54pretty feel pretty confident in that.
30:56So, if you can move on from him, you know, you try to do it, but if not, at least you know you can use him in a
31:00pinch.
31:02>> Always say, man, you can throw that trade offer out and the worst thing is that yeah, your buddies are going to
31:06roast you in the group mean, but the best thing is they roast whoever actually just took Tony Pollard off your hands while you're laughing your way
31:11straight to a better fantasy asset. So, again, unfortunate L for the Titans next week though, they will be facing another AFC North team and the Cincinnati
31:19Bengals. So, hopefully they can at least be a little more of a fun bad team like we saw here today. Moving on, this is
31:26not This is a very very good team Dwayne, but not a very fun one. We had the Vikings take down the Colts 16 to 10
31:31and they did cover a 6 and 1/2 point dogs. The under obviously cashed at 41 and 1/2. Kyler Murray, man, I was really
31:38hoping this was going to be the boom.
31:40Last six quarters or so before the bye, he was playing a lot better and that was with the wide receivers and T.J.
31:45Hockenson in and out of the lineup. Had the extra week to get right. Everyone's healthy in this one and again, just 150
31:51yards and one short touchdown to T.J.
31:53Hockenson. Chipped in 39 rushing yards.
31:55I think he had a 34-yard run where he was again showing off the wheels. Still very much a very very fast dude. He hits
32:00the few nice throws. It's just very inconsistent and at the end of the day, man, only the Chargers offense has a
32:06lower EPA per play than the Minnesota Vikings this year. So, I was buying into the idea that this could be a nice week
32:12for him Dwayne. It was interesting with the quarterbacks, you know, guys like Dak and other players who maybe I would end up ranking up uh easily ranking
32:19ahead of him in normal weeks just had tougher matchups on paper, you know, we'll see how that plays out on Monday
32:23Night Football obviously, but end of the day, four complete games for Kyler, he scored 10, 11, 18 today 14 fantasy points.
32:31I am not feeling optimistic that we have true booms on the horizon here Dwayne.
32:35How about you?
32:36>> Yeah, um so, I think the big challenge here, like obviously Kyler has not played great. So that's number one, but
32:43number two, like this defense is so good. It's just really reshaped the way they're playing.
32:48I think Kevin O'Connell realizes how good his defense is and he's honestly just playing these games to not lose, Ian. And his defense is so good, playing
32:56not to lose means you win.
32:58Because like the Vikings are ridiculous, man. Like if you just research all the things they're doing, it's actually pretty insane. Like what all they can do
33:06and like we got to we'll we'll talk more about the Colts in a second, but it was another game where like the running
33:11backs couldn't even run routes. Like you just have half your team has to stay in the block. You you use more tight ends,
33:16they stay in the block, your running backs stay in the block. And well, when you do that and you're playing against a
33:21blitz and zone coverage behind it, you know, it's it's tough. It's tough. So it's going to be hard for teams to
33:26pressure them, but I would say this is the silver lining.
33:29This is the schedule coming up. This Vikings defense is still going to be good, but they're going to get really tested. And this could open things up
33:36for Kyler. You get the Lions next week, a fantastic offense. Then you get the Bills, then you get the Packers, and
33:43then you get the 49ers. So what I would say is I don't want to move on from Kyler right now. I mean obviously some
33:50of these things you guys will send to us like, "Hey, would you drop Kyler Murray?
33:53Somebody dropped Jordan Love?" Yes, we would take Jordan Love.
33:56But you know, when there's a there's a lot of fringy names that are out there.
33:59Like I would still right now probably roster Kyler seeing this schedule like over Aaron Rodgers. Right, as as my QB2.
34:06So that I just want to call that out.
34:08There is a chance these offenses could push the Vikings enough that we get to see what does Kyler have to look like in
34:14a game where they actually have to open things up.
34:17>> Of course, for Kyler not putting up bonkers numbers, that is carrying over to the wide receivers. Another day without 100 yards for Justin Jefferson.
34:25In fact, he couldn't even get that 50 today. So 60 receiving yards per game this year, that is even fewer than last
34:30season. He did have the one very limited injury game, so I realize that again, a little bit of a skewed stat there, but
34:35yeah, man, other than T.J. Hockenson getting a short touchdown, nothing really guaranteed here. So, I don't think I'm at the point yet, Dwayne, cuz
34:42they're facing off against the Lions next week, and we've seen them give up huge games to one wide receiver or tight
34:46end after another this year. So, I'll be keeping Jefferson steady Eddie as a top-10 wide receiver, but there was a time last year where we saw him perform
34:55as a wide receiver three, and so far, man, it's kind of been like that.
35:01>> Yeah, you know, he's an interesting one because, uh, you know, every week when I run the rest-of-season projections, which is our baseline, uh, for how we
35:08handle the rest-of-season ranks, like there's some things we do to the ranks after that, um, to handle handcuff running backs and things like that that
35:15you know we need to have higher than someone that might be projected more for them, but, you know, every week I I when
35:21I update it, Jefferson does keep moving lower because, like, I have to adjust the team environment, which is like, this is a team not throwing as much as
35:28we thought they would. It's a team not running as many plays as we thought they would, and there's a really good reason
35:33for it. It's the defense that we talked about it. So, I'm with you, uh, and he's a guy that like, he's been coming in at
35:40like wide receiver 15 and 16, and I'm like, "Uh, let me look at that. Okay, one more percent like to his touchdown
35:45share." Like, let's keep >> [laughter] >> Let's keep Justin Jefferson, you know, guys, and it's a balance that I'm working through cuz I don't want you
35:51guys to see something be like, "Oh my god, they think Justin Jefferson sucks, and I should cut him." But, the the
35:56storyline is that he's moving lower every week, and each week I find less resistance that I have to it, where I'm
36:02just like, "Maybe I just let the model cook, man, and let it put him put him where he needs to be because
36:07that's the issue. I probably will hold him this week though just because of that schedule. Right. And I think this schedule, you know, I'd want to have
36:14Justin Jefferson through this schedule, and then maybe we decide, "All right, like, you might try to flip him."
36:20>> And I'm with a similar thought process with Jordan Addison. Obviously, like, he's not someone you necessarily, you know, don't need to start him, and we're
36:26not going to be ranking them all that high. Wide receiver three, wide receiver four, but in terms of like can I cut
36:31Jordan Addison? I would like to try to hold him if possible given these potential shootouts we got coming up.
36:36>> Yeah, and we don't have any huge wide receiver names on the waiver wire. We got a couple things to talk about as we
36:42move on through the show.
36:43But they're kind of in that range, you know, with him. So like like if you're playing in a smaller league, you know,
36:48and somebody cuts somebody really good like we don't mind you guys cutting Addison, but you a lot of you guys playing in these sicko leagues. Yeah,
36:54Addison's really just to hold and you hope he gets going through this this stretch of games that we talked about and maybe he's an asset that you can
37:00flip.
37:01>> Meanwhile in the run game we saw the return of Jordan Mason. 68 scrimmage yards on 15 carries and he got all the
37:06way up to 15 carries because unfortunately A. Aaron Jones re-aggravated that same MCL issue he had before. Looked to be in a lot of pain
37:14there on the sideline. So I would be expecting Aaron Jones to at a minimum be missing week eight and if it's a lot
37:20longer than that, I honestly would not be too shocked. Again, based on kind of the response and just how he looked out
37:24there on the field. So Dwayne, we did see four or five games last year where Jones was out of the picture and it was
37:29the Jordan Mason show. Now we saw out there Zavian Scott going out there and taking some of the pass down work. I
37:34don't expect Mason to have that same 80-90% snap role that Jonesy was able to get without Mason in the picture. That
37:41said, last year even in a not a good Vikings offense, I think he worked as the RB 16 or 17 and half PPR points per
37:48game. Wasn't single-handedly winning you guys your weeks or anything like that, but 15 to 20 carries, he'll score whatever goal line touchdowns are
37:55available. You could do a lot worse than that, you know, when we got four teams on bye.
37:59>> Yeah, I mean mid-range running touchdown dependent running back too, but on a team, you know, that can keep things pretty close with their defense probably
38:06even in these tough matchups coming up and that keeps him in play in those games. And he was pretty good today. I
38:12mean for the first game back, you know, I obviously, you know, it was a thumb injury so his lower body should have
38:16been fine and in good condition, fresh legs, all that kind of stuff, but 15 carries for 68 yards, four and a half
38:22per carry. He had two targets, didn't catch one.
38:25The big thing, you know, that was interesting to me is even before the Jones injury, I went back and looked at
38:30the drives before Jones left the game and they were basically giving Jordan Mason the role back that we saw in week one. He had 55% of the snaps,
38:3953% of the rushing attempts, and 48% route share before Aaron Jones left the game. So, I think we got kind of two
38:45things here. One, if Aaron Jones is out, Jordan Mason moves up the ranks, but then number two, we also saw that it's
38:51really probably still Jordan Mason as the early down running back one and then Aaron Jones playing more on pass downs.
38:56That And that's what we saw in week one.
38:58So, small sample, but it's the two data points that we have.
39:02>> On the other sideline, we had a very very disgusting performance from Daniel Jones and the Colts. Now, as Dwayne said, it's obviously a tough match up,
39:08but it's just kind of another situation where it would have been a lot cooler to see something from Indy. So, I know Alec
39:14Pierce is out of the picture and everything. That's not going to help this passing game, but you know, I don't really see him coming back anytime soon.
39:20So, we're just kind of stuck with one of the worst passing games and offenses in football right now. Fourth worst offense
39:26in in EPA per dropback. Only the Titans, Buccaneers, and Chargers have it worse this year. So, 2.6 yards per dropback by
39:33Daniel Jones today, Dwayne. When I checked in the afternoon, that ranked 206 out of 207 qualified games this year. Only week four Jalen Hurts against
39:43the Rams was actually less efficient than that. They asked Shane Steichen after the game, like, have you considered a quarterback change? He said
39:49no, he trusts Daniel Jones. And I mean, with Anthony Richardson getting busted for smoking the reefer recently, I don't think that's exactly giving him much
39:56just I guess, you know, hope that he's going to get another opportunity.
40:00>> Hey, who Who's amongst us, Dwayne, can disagree? So, Riley Leonard still hanging out there as well. I I don't know. I don't think any of those guys
40:08are going to necessarily be better than Daniel Jones. All right, again, it's a bad offensive environment right now. I I totally understand that. I do I it could
40:15be a more fun bad version. Just atrocious interception on the last drive of the game. So, I don't know, man. Look, next week they
40:22face the Jaguars. I'm not feeling confident in Keenan Allen or Josh Downs doing anything here. Maybe Tyler Warren comes back, but we're literally just
40:30hoping for seven or eight catches from Keenan or Warren at this point. I'm the ship's seemingly sailed on Josh Downs.
40:37I'm sure Downs will have like a better game here or there moving forward, but we can't just see him have one more good
40:43game and be like, "Oh, yeah, wide receiver two again." So, it's it's just a disaster, man.
40:48>> Yeah, I mean, and look, the big takeaway here and we've talked and we talked about this last week on the show. Just
40:53don't start any sort of fringe player against the Vikings. You started JT today and he gave you your 19 fantasy points and you were happy with that.
41:01But, you can't start guys like Downs and Keenan, any of these other players.
41:06Daniel Jones, like I had him as the as the last dead ass last in my ranks this week and I kind of
41:11thought about it. I was like, "Man, really Dwayne below Tanner McKee?" And I was like, "It's the Vikings. I don't care. I'll just leave him down there.
41:17I'm just trying to make a point. Don't put him in your lineup, people. Like even if you think I'm being overly
41:21aggressive with it."
41:22So, yeah, I'm I'm 100% on the same page with you and like it's unfortunate with Josh Downs, but it is what it is at this
41:28point, man.
41:30You know, he's not thriving in a full-time role.
41:34You know, and it happens to some players, man. We see some of these guys that in a part-time role were a lot and
41:39you know, when you're out there in a part-time role, you guys have to understand is they know you're not going to play as
41:43much, so they design certain things for you and you and so it can actually inflate things. You're like, "Oh, man, look at this targets per route." Ron
41:50will now like defenses know Josh Downs is going to be out there. They know what he likes to do. They know what he's good
41:55at. They know what he's not good at and right now it's just been a real struggle for him.
41:59So, I don't think you can just have these guys anywhere near your starting lineups. The only guy The other one would be Tyler Warren. I think you're JT
42:05and Tyler Warren. Those are the two that you're going to be starting and and Tyler Warren is not because we we he's
42:10going to be amazing, but it's just like the rest of the tight end landscape, you know, while it's deeper than normal,
42:15when you look at him, it's kind of hard to push Tyler Warren too far down.
42:18You're like, "Ah, okay, fine. Tight end seven or eight." You might get him to there, but you're still going to be
42:22playing him. So, yeah, I mean, JT, I will say one interesting thing that happened today with JT, 56% of the rushing attempts. I mean,
42:30this is a close game, you know, despite like the Colts really not being able to get anything going.
42:35>> Makes you wonder.
42:36>> Yeah, 30 31% of the 34% of the snaps to McGowan. So, I I do wonder if there's some truth to like this Colts are about
42:44to be in fire sale mode.
42:47>> The only part, cuz normally I'd be like, "Yeah, absolutely. Why wouldn't they just go ahead and start doing this?" But
42:54they don't have a freaking GM right now.
42:56>> Yeah. Well, [laughter] that might make it easier.
42:59>> Maybe. Just, "Oh, yeah, okay, that deal.
43:01That works." So, we'll see what goes on there. But yeah, Seth McGowan, man, absolutely go pick him up, people, cuz look, we're not crossing out JT and
43:09putting Seth McGowan as a top 10 running back. And if you remove JT from this offense, I get it. We're talking about a
43:14bottom five group. And they already are pretty much a bottom five group, even with JT. But look, man, we've seen what
43:20Brian Allen and what Ollie Gordon are doing in bad offenses. I don't know if McGowan's as good as those guys, but I
43:26do know he is literally the only Colts running back not named JT not just to get a touch this season, but to even
43:32play a snap out here. And we have seen it over the years, the Colts are far more willing to leave one running back
43:38on the field for 89% of the snaps. And I do think we could be looking at that role for Seth McGowan. It would be an
43:44ugly situation. You don't want to watch these games, all right? But I think we could get used to looking up Dwayne and
43:50seeing something close to RB2 production.
43:53>> Well, I think what you would look up and see is like, "Wow, he had 20 opportunities again." You know? I
43:57mean, and like that's kind of You know, and if you're doing that, especially like when we have bye weeks and stuff, Ian, you know how it goes.
44:03Like you're sitting there, you're like, "Man, am I sure I'm I'm to have like this guy as a mid-range running back,
44:06too?" And then you look at all the players below him, you're like, "Well, I don't even know what their roles are."
44:10So, yeah, like that's that's the guy that's going to be there. So, I think, you know, when everything's full strength and you're hitting your fantasy
44:16playoffs, like he's more like a borderline running back two if JT were to move on, but I think he would definitely get some mileage out of
44:24McAllen, and he should be on most rosters. Deep leagues, he should be rostered, for sure.
44:29>> Okay, and Colts Jaguars next week, so in Jacksonville, man, show us something, Danny Dimes. Let's see it, man. Moving on. We had Yeah, I
44:38know, I'm not holding my breath. Moving on. Dolphins beat the Jets 28 to 25, man. I mean, winning outright as three
44:43and a half point dogs overcast here at 39 and a half. Let's go Dolphins. First win of the season. Jeff Hafley went
44:49ahead and basically, you know, took a big risk there at the end going for a fourth and one QB sneak, even
44:53potentially giving up bad field position, but he ended the game on his terms. Always love seeing that. Thanks in large part to Malik Willis going out
45:00there and kind of being the guy we were hoping that we were drafting, Dwayne.
45:04Usually more so in best ball, but I know a lot of people were throwing that late, you know, late round dart his way as
45:08well to be your second quarterback. So, 208 yards and two touchdowns through the air, both to returning Caleb Douglas.
45:14Great seeing the rookie continuing to ball out. We also got another 37 rushing yards and a touchdown from Malik Willis.
45:19So, I get it. The first month in the year, far more bad than good from Malik Willis there. And it looked rough at
45:25times, but these last two games from him, 18.9 today, 26.2 fantasy points.
45:32The offense looks more functional to my eyes out there. I don't think the stats have backed that up as well. And the
45:37schedule coming up, Dwayne, Patriots, Lions, Colts, Bills, and Jets over these next five games. Look, I'm not going to be running to rank Malik Willis as a top
45:4610 quarterback just yet or anything like that, but we're about to have a lot of buys out here, and I think Malik Willis,
45:51deservedly so, is someone we can start thinking about streaming again.
45:54>> Yeah, and I mean, the receiver room is just getting healthier. You got Caleb Douglas right there, third round pick back today. We know that Chris Bell is
46:00still trying to come back from that ACL injury that he had last college season.
46:05So, I think like you have a lot of things coinciding and then like Ali Gordon's looking really good. Like he's playing good football right now. So, the
46:12big thing for me for the last two games and we'll see if it can stick, but before the bye week they ran 64 plays in
46:18a game and then they ran 64 plays again today and that was passing the ball only 36% of the time. Uh so, this is a
46:24run-first offense drop-back rate over expected. They're going to be one of the the lowest. So, that's just looking guys at how often does a team pass a ball
46:32pass the ball or drop back to pass anyway based on all the circumstances, right? What how much time's left in the
46:38game? What's the score differential?
46:40What's the down and distance? Those sort of things. So, very run-heavy team, um but what I'll say with Malik Willis the
46:45thing that's also been like impressive is he's doing a better job with the sack stuff. Early on in the year he was
46:50taking more sacks. Today, you know, he was under pressure 46% of the time and he was sacked twice, but only a 15%
46:58pressure-to-sack rate. So, >> That's great.
47:00>> Yeah, learning how to like even though you're getting that pressure like managing the pocket, knowing when to scramble, which he did today. 18%
47:06scramble rate. He gave you five scrambles for 37 yards. He had one designed carry for 2 yards. So, I think you get the rushing baseline
47:14stuff there and like he does seem like he's getting more in a groove, you know, with this offense. And so, I I agree
47:20with you. Like I think Malik Willis like upgrades to like mid-range QB2 territory after two strong performances and and the overall offense looking better and
47:28getting healthy. Like when you put all that together, not I'm with you. I'm not saying like we're going to suddenly be
47:32saying, "Okay, every week we're having, you know, Malik Willis in the top 10 quarterback conversation." But, like with bye weeks and all that kind of
47:38stuff where you're in a superflex, much more usable at this point.
47:43>> Mention the touchdowns to Caleb Douglas.
47:44First one just, you know, a nice route, nice ball in the back of the end zone.
47:47Second one definitely, I don't want to take anything away from Caleb. It was just they called a corner blitz, so he
47:52kind of got the ball out hot in the open field. Made a dude miss and like made some awesome, you know, stuff happen in
47:57the open field as he act threat. So, honestly, again, great play over there.
48:01Just one of these things where it was only on three targets, guys. It's still a passing game. We're not expecting much
48:06week-to-week volume and this level of efficiency with it. But, hey, you know, top 50 treatment, okay. I'm going to be ranking him closer to 50 than I am 36,
48:14but two games now we've seen him this season, Dwayne, and he's returned really good results both times. So, shout out Caleb Douglas.
48:20>> Yeah, the big thing is is uh you know, this is a team that's willing to stick with the run game really no matter what
48:25the game script looks like, right? And that and that hurts him. But, like getting more plays and volume, that does help. But, yeah, I have this one down as
48:31a little bit more of a fugazi myself because you talked about it. Like the target share was really not there, only
48:3714%. Then one of them, you know, was a basically a freebie. So, you just have to keep those things in mind, guys. It
48:42was two catches for 70 yards and two touchdowns. Like that's how we got there today. Now, on the other hand is like,
48:48okay, this is a guy that's a round three pick that they, you know, decided they really wanted to invest in. He was the
48:53first receiver they took in this draft.
48:55And they don't really have anyone else.
48:57So, like if the offense does change a little bit and decides to throw a little bit more, you don't know what you might
49:01have with Caleb Douglas. And we might be looking at him as more of a boom-bust wide receiver four or maybe even
49:06eventually a wide receiver three. But, I agree with you right now, more like borderline wide receiver four in that wide receiver five conversation. Um
49:14nothing else to really add here. Greg Dulcich finally had a a nice game. He gave you 13.6 PPR points, but really his
49:20role stayed the same, 68% route share.
49:23He had a 24% target share today. So, if you for some reason had to happen to have uh Greg Dulcich in like a sicko
49:29league and you had to start him today, congrats to you, but I'm not very interested the rest of the way.
49:34>> Otherwise, yeah, just kind of giving some kudos to Alec Gordon, guys. Four games now in the post-Achane era. He's had 55, 188, and 103 total yards with
49:43one touchdown each and every time out.
49:45So, obviously, you know, the touchdowns are helping a lot with the lack of receiving role here and we aren't exactly expecting the Dolphins to be
49:52pushing for 28 points each and every week out, but dude's 12th in yards after contact per carry, my eyes tell me he's
49:58an explosive, big, good running back, and so far he's returned upside RB2 treatment. So, going up against the Patriots next week, Dwayne, I think I'll
50:06probably be able to find a spot in my top 15 for him once again. How about you?
50:09>> Yeah, just watching Ali Gordon, like really good vision. Like the guy just sees the line of scrimmage really well.
50:16You know, he he knows how to like kind of manipulate the linebacker on the other side. And even though he's a
50:20bigger guy, man, like he can make that little move and when he sees it. Like he's not the fastest, but his
50:25acceleration's really good. Like he has good like, you know, short field acceleration and he's a big guy. So, like when he can do that and he gets to
50:32that next level, it's pretty hard to get him down on the ground like with one tackler, especially if it's smaller DB
50:37or something like that. And the the positive here, now we did have Jaylen Wright get injured in this game, and so
50:43that's going to be part of this, but it was a 64% route share for him today, which that's that's not like CMC level
50:50where you guys are like you're like 75, 80%, which is like elite, but that's still really good. If you have a running
50:55back getting over 60% route share and then also getting 70% of the carries, that's pretty good. Like and he had a
51:0114% target share today. So, like he's not a nothing burger completely, you know, in the receiving game. To your point, like they run a
51:08lot, so not going to be a lot of targets really for anybody here if if they're winning the way that they want to win.
51:13But yeah, I've definitely changed my view on Ali Gordon. I was really worried like what's this really going to be worth? It's probably going to be like
51:22really bad offense, you know, kind of like Quinshon Judkins, are we getting like 3 yards per carry? You know, but he's definitely proving me wrong on that
51:29front. He's been really efficient, man.
51:32>> It's one of those things, too, where I think the thought process when Achane went down, it's like, well, Achane's not
51:37doing anything in this offense right now. We really think his backup is going to be that much of a bigger deal? We
51:42didn't know how much it was going to be the Ali Gordon show versus Jaylen Wright uh involved as well. But, man, Dwayne,
51:49just the way the running back position goes. And I'm with you, like you get to running back 14, 15 in the ranks, and I'm like,
51:55I keep scrolling. I'm like, I can't literally be having to rank this guy next, right? Like, it can't be down that
52:00bad. Any running back out there with a potential chance to be a 15 to 20 touch guy the rest of the season,
52:07bad offense be damned, man. We should definitely, you know, give them not 50% of our fab or anything, but, you know,
52:13silly I would say more of a benefit of the doubt than maybe we did.
52:16>> Yeah, absolutely. Uh he was in a league of where somebody cut him the week before for JaMycal Hasty.
52:22And I remembered I had marked it down, and I put 80% of my fab on Ollie Gordon in that league. And I got
52:29him. I I went in and I looked at how much every other manager had, and there was two teams I couldn't outbid. So, I
52:34looked for the last one, and I was like, all right, I'm going to go like 15 bucks over what this guy has left. And we'll
52:40see what happens. And I was very excited to get him, man, cuz I needed a running back, too, you know, in that league. And
52:46I was very happy to plug Ollie Gordon in.
52:49>> And hey, I'm sure the Dolphins are very happy to get that first W of the year.
52:53We'll see if they can stay hot next week in that AFC East showdown. Meanwhile, for the JETS, just just Jets, 7.1 yards
53:00per play, but 53 plays. And unfortunately, Geno's starting to be a little bit more careless with the ball.
53:05He did have another pick. Also took a couple untimely sacks. So, did throw for 287 yards and not one, not two, but
53:11three touchdowns, two of which went to the top highest scoring tight end of the day, not Kenyan Drake, Mason Taylor. But
53:17hey, Mason Taylor is going out there and mossing dudes, so who are we to complain about them using this guy? So, that was
53:23unfortunate, Dwayne. We have not seen Kenyan Drake really get anything going ever since. He had the 105-yard touchdown blowup against the Lions. In
53:30fact, he has a combined 21 scoreless yards in those four games since. But, Mason Taylor doing his thing. I don't expect the split to be quite as wide the
53:38rest of the season, but also don't necessarily expect Mason Taylor to go away, because why would he? He's playing good football. Let's focus on the
53:44positive first round rookie here and that is Omar Cooper Jr. Caught all five of his targets for 115 yards and a
53:51score. I ran the numbers guys. There's only been six players who have multiple 100 plus yard receiving games inside of their first three career games since
54:012000. DeSean Jackson, Stefon Diggs, Amari Cooper, Will Fuller, Puka Nacua and now Omar Cooper. That's just a bunch of legends.
54:10>> Dwayne, I'm ready to crown Omar Cooper, too. Let's go, man. Ranked him I think wide receiver 29 or 30 this week. That
54:16wasn't high enough. I know Garrett's here, but Geno's chucking it. AT Perry Mitchell's not a factor. Kenny Yeboah is not a factor. Why can't Garrett Wilson
54:24and Omar Cooper give us top 30 at worst production more weeks than not moving forward?
54:29>> Yeah, man. 22.5 fantasy points today for Cooper. And also had seven a 70% route share versus 55% for Mitchell. So,
54:38that's a positive. Like we want to see more than 70%, but that's the kind of the thing we wanted to see when you get
54:42AT Perry Mitchell back. Now, Mitchell's coming back from the finger injury, so not fully healthy. This could change a little bit in future weeks, but this is
54:49the best first data point that you could hope for, which is that he played more than him and he had another good game,
54:55which is just hopefully solidifies things, you know, with the Jets coaching staff. He's just a more versatile player. We like AT Perry Mitchell. We've
55:02given him his roses for the things that he can do in the past to him, but Cooper like you can play him inside, you can
55:07play him outside. He's just a thick rugged dude, man, and showing that he can track the ball down the field as
55:12well like we saw in college earlier in his career before he turned into a more kind of a YAC machine last year playing
55:18from the slot for Indiana. And so, it's just nice to like to see all of those levels to his game coming out in this in
55:24the over these last two games. Last week we had more of the vertical stuff. He had he had two really good long plays
55:29again today, but 9.8 average depth of of target today, so he was working the intermediate and under underneath stuff as well. So, yeah.
55:37Omar Cooper Jr. looking really good. And you know, the one thing I'll say is like with Geno I'm a little different. I know
55:43he did throw the pick today, but there's also this part of me that thinks, okay, I mean he threw for 287, 9.6 yards per
55:49attempt today.
55:50And he does finally have like really all of these guys are almost healthy, right?
55:55So, I don't know if D'Wayne might not be 100%, but it's like, man, if you have Garrett Wilson, Omar Cooper Jr., D'Wayne
56:00Mitchell, Mason Taylor, plus Kenneth Siddique, and you probably get Breece Hall back in the next game as well. He was a good receiver out of the
56:06backfield. Like it won't be due to a lack of weapons.
56:10You know? [laughter] So, I mean, I think, you know, Geno Smith like just for bye weeks and stuff, like I think there is some potential
56:16there. Like in one league I did cut him this last week, which I was carrying three quarterbacks at the time. So, I'm
56:21still fine with it, but I did think of that when I cut him. I was like, you know, this is really the healthiest the
56:26Jets offense has been all year. And like if Cooper keeps on balling, and we already know Garrett Wilson's good, and we think Breece Hall's pretty good, like
56:34that could be nice.
56:36>> It's a good point. Man, like both touchdowns to Mason Taylor were high point only where he could get it, you
56:41know, great balls there.
56:42>> man. Those were great plays.
56:43>> Dude, and that throw down the middle to Cooper for the 60-yard catch and run. I mean, that's going to look like straight
56:49cinema on the All-22 views once we get that going Monday morning. So, you're right. I'll put a little more respect on
56:54Geno's name, even if I don't think he's necessarily back to balling like his, you know, 2022 when I think he did
56:59deserve to be in the top 10 QB discussion. Certainly worlds better than whatever the hell that was that we saw in Las Vegas last year. So, for that, we
57:07appreciate you, Geno.
57:09Would be cool to see more than three targets to Garrett Wilson. Also seemed like Garrett wasn't too happy about that. He said after the game he wasn't
57:15yelling at Geno. He was yelling just about stuff around Geno. Kind of looked like to me, Dwayne, he was yelling at
57:21Geno, but >> You know how that goes. He's like, man, I'm cooking this guy, you know, you're yelling at right in front of your
57:26quarterback. I'm open every play.
57:29>> [laughter] >> So, Geno didn't seem to be paying him any mind. It would have been really funny if Gino was like, "Yeah, well,
57:35Omar Cooper Jr. is a dog."
57:37>> [laughter] >> Yeah, so.
57:39Uh, like, we know Wilson's days. Like, they're going to come. So, I'm not I'm not too worried about Garrett Wilson.
57:44And And honestly, like, if this can lift like the entire like ceiling, which I think it does, like, for the offense,
57:51there there's enough to go around between these two players.
57:54>> I am Look, if you have Garrett Wilson, you're starting him every single week.
57:58And I still think we'll manage to get upside wide receiver two numbers when it's all said and done. If I had to
58:03guess where he finishes this year, maybe like wide receiver 17, 18. The top 10 breakout heights that maybe we thought we were getting. I just think those are
58:12going to be tough to come by. When we got other dudes in this offense that are making plays.
58:15>> That's right. Yeah, and he came in at wide receiver 20 in the rest of season projection model last week. And I was
58:20pretty comfortable with just leaving him leaving him right there in that range.
58:23It's like It's not disrespectful, guys.
58:25Like, that's a really good player that you're going to play every week. He's going to give you some wide receiver one
58:29weeks. He's going to give you some wide receiver three weeks. There's going to be wide receiver two weeks. He's still going to have his blow up games. And And
58:35like, he's still going to lead the team in targets. Like, I'm not worried about that. But, is it going to be like a 32%
58:41target share? Probably not. Like, because these other guys, like, I mean, Omar Cooper Jr. is a first-round pick.
58:47So.
58:48>> A lot of good players in this Jets offense, including Mr. Breece Hall, guys. 104 yards on the ground. Chipped in another 30 receiving. The advanced
58:56stuff paints him as one of the best running backs in the league. And honestly, my eyes, I don't know if I
59:01would rank him as a top-five real-life running back myself, but I do believe this dude is a really freaking good football player. Only Kenneth Walker and
59:08Bijan Robinson are averaging more yards after contact. And he's also, man, speaking of Ollie Gordon being a bigger guy with some, you know, quick feet, I
59:15think the same thing applies to Breece Hall as well. Third in tackles avoided behind only Jahmyr Gibbs and Kenneth Walker. So, I'm with you. I think Breece
59:22Hall was able to practice in a limited fashion this past week. Gets back in the full and goes ahead and does his thing.
59:27We did see have to quote from Aaron Glenn last week saying like, "Hey, Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall are our bell cows and we're going to be
59:34featuring them." We also just saw, you know, Garrett Wilson get three targets after that quote, Dwayne. So, look, I don't think that Braelon's going to be
59:40taking Breece Hall's job or anything like that. Many, many millions of reasons for them to feature Breece and Breece is very, very good at some things
59:46that maybe Braelon isn't, like work in the passing game, like making maybe more of these, you know, turning these 10-yard rushes into 30, 40-plus yard
59:53chunk gains. All that said, man, I think they're going to be complementing each other and I'm at least going to need to
59:58see a week of Breece getting back to that 75, 80% snap role before I'm comfortable ranking him, you know, right around that RB1 borderline again. So,
60:06you get Breece back, we're going to be starting him and everything and I'm not going to be starting Braelon once Breece
60:10is there, but Breece to me, Dwayne, like I think I have Braelon ranked RB 11 or so this week, but when I thought
60:18Breece was coming back on Friday, I put Breece closer like to Gentilly at that RB18, RB19 range.
60:24>> Yeah.
60:25>> No, I think we're on the same page. Uh in the rest of season projection model last week when I was running it and once
60:30we accounted for what we thought Braelon Allen would be even when when Breece Hall was back, but Breece Hall as the
60:35lead back, but I don't think he's going to be at a 70% snap share. Like I just don't think you can play it that way in
60:41your mind right now. I think you have to assume that this is going to be a closer split still with Breece Hall leading.
60:47Could that be wrong? Yeah, and we could just see Breece Hall come out and get a 70% snap share and that would be great.
60:53We're fine with that.
60:54Um but he came out closer to running back 24 than running back 18, you know, in the rest of season ranks and again,
61:00it it doesn't mean that Breece Hall's like unusable or anything, but Braelon Allen, you know, has just played so well. see how they just stuff him back
61:08into like this really small role uh whenever you do get Breece Hall back.
61:12I I think it's more like a 60/40 kind of thing.
61:15>> Yeah.
61:16Braelon Allen, man, 22 years young. Sure as hell making the most out of his opportunities, so good on him. Moving along, guys, we have the Buccaneers beat
61:24down the Panthers 43 to 13. Tampa Bay easily winning as three-point dogs. Over cash at this one pretty much just by
61:31themselves at 44 and 1/2 points. 49 rushes for 258 yards for the Buccaneers.
61:37Imagine telling someone this morning like, you know, the football genie comes to you and just goes, "Hey, I'm telling you one thing from today, Baker Mayfield
61:44stole for 64 yards." Like, you would empty the freaking mortgage on the Panthers and you would have felt like a big old dummy for doing it. But, I
61:51thought Dwayne Baker looked way better than I thought he was going to with his stupid glove. It's not a stupid glove
61:57thing. It worked, all right? So, it's a cool story at the Tampa Bay teams were supporting each other. I'm definitely not bitter cuz the Rays knocked out my
62:03Cleveland Guardians. Has nothing to do with this at all. But, look, Baker, man, he just didn't have to throw much, but I
62:08thought when he was throwing like he had zip on the ball. It looked like he was accurate. He had the kind of off-script
62:13touchdown to Tez Johnson. Obviously wasn't, you know, any worse for the wear. We still have Baker, you know, calling his own number at the goal line
62:20and, you know, trying to just be probably too physical than he should be in open field and everything. But, he looked like Baker to me. So, honestly
62:27like when we do get Ameca Abuka hopefully back next week. He was able to practice in a limited fashion on Friday.
62:33I'm not really going to be digging him, I think, too severely if at all for like a potential fall off playing through
62:39this right thumb injury. Now, it was only 11 passes, but, you know, future games like next week going up against the Falcons, I don't think they're going
62:46to be able to get away with this. This was just a wonky one game sort of game script. But, curious in your thoughts
62:51like are you going to be downgrading pass catchers thinking that we're either going to have this sort of low volume moving forward or a lesser version of
62:58Baker?
62:59>> I was already like, you know, once they said they were playing him, you know, I was like, all right. Like, I'm pretty
63:05much moving Baker back to his normal spot, but I think I kept him I kept him about three to four spots below that
63:10this week just to see. And yeah, I mean, I think we saw enough. He was 7 of 11, 64%. He threw the touchdown like you
63:16mentioned. It's it's ridiculous. They ran the ball on 82% of plays today. It's not ridiculous, like the Panthers couldn't stop it, like period. It didn't
63:25matter which running back was in there, they couldn't stop it.
63:28Uh so, yeah, I'm with you. I think I think Baker's a mid-range uh QB2 as long as we do get Amari Cooper
63:34back. That That was the thing that really sucked because Abbrederis just he was breaking out, man. Like we were we were seeing him really get back to his
63:42form. So, hopefully it was more just the concussion thing and not the slash foot.
63:46That was what bothered me. It was like concussion slash foot and I'm like foot as in toe, right? Uh so, I we'll have to
63:54kind of keep an eye on that, but if we get Abbrederis back and he's doing his thing, yeah, I think that uh you know,
63:59Baker's mid-range QB2 and there's going to be the games where we think we could have shootouts and he's going to be
64:03closer to like that borderline QB1 range.
64:06>> Yeah.
64:07We'll say that Chris Godwin could have had a 9-yard touchdown today. Got nullified on the illegal shift penalty, which is a really annoying one, man, cuz
64:14it really just doesn't even influence the play. They just need to get lined up right. Bucky was not fully set when the
64:19snap happened.
64:20>> If they had to throw today, I think we might have seen the Chris Godwin boom. I mean, he got the 6.7 fantasy points and
64:27we just talked about they ran the ball 82% of the time.
64:30>> 46% target share, guys. We just talked about it. It's 11 attempts. It's a small This is basically like watching a
64:35preseason game, you know, where you're like, "Well, we have two drives to go on here."
64:39Uh but I think we were about to see probably you know, I'm not going to say Godwin's going to score 30 fantasy
64:45points or something, but I think he was probably going to hit like 17 to 20 today if this game had been something
64:50where it was more competitive.
64:52>> So again, going to be tough to be too hyped about him when Amari Cooper is making his return. And even Abbrederis,
64:57man, I know he was getting the targets in those last two games, but still haven't exactly seen the big-time counting numbers yet, but things are
65:03moving in the right direction.
65:04Obviously, a great win for the Buccaneers. Obviously, a great day for Bucky Irving, man. 106 yards, two touchdowns on the ground, one of which
65:11was very much at the doorstep of that goal line even with Mr. Sean Tucker active. Tucker chipped in a long rushing
65:17touchdown pretty much, you know, when the game was already in hand in the fourth quarter. And then, oh yeah, Kenneth Gainwell also had 14 carries for
65:2488 yards, missed a little bit of time with a hip injury, but was good enough to return. So, Bucky man all year has
65:29looked fantastic. I just don't want to get too carried away tonight. I think I had him ranked RB 13 or 14 this week.
65:35Like, he was for sure, if you have Bucky Irving, start him. It's just I'm trying to balance like this blow up and that
65:41incredible Cowboys game with the three other games in between where we were getting like 60 scoreless yards out there. So, it's not that he's he's the lead running
65:50back and I don't I mean, I said the same thing for Jaylen Warren earlier. So, like, yeah, would it be cool to have 30
65:54touches per game? Of course. Is that really realistic? Not really.
65:58It's just Gainwell and Tucker just not involved in an offense that we still have some week-to-week volatility. He's an upside RB2. If he breaks into the
66:06weekly top 10 conversation, great. I'm probably not holding my breath.
66:10>> Yeah, I mean, 24 fantasy points today and he didn't play in the fourth quarter. Uh I mean, up until that point
66:15he had a 75% snap share, 67% rush share, 46% uh route share, or sorry, 46% of attempts inside the five. And he was he
66:24was out there for plenty of passing down stuff. So, um what's interesting about Irving is if you look at the last three to four
66:30games, like that's pretty much the role he's played, what I just told you. So, I mean, a player as talented as him getting 70%
66:38plus of the snaps, if Baker is what we just talked about and we think he's at least like a mid-range QB2 with some QB1
66:45upside, I do think that's really good for Bucky Irving. So, like, that's the big out he has is like, can Baker come
66:51in and stabilize? And I'm and I'm higher than you on Ihmir Smith-Marsette. I got Ihmir Smith-Marsette inside the top 24 rest of season last
66:57week, whenever I ran everything. So, I think he's I think he's actually looking really good, but you're playing with Jaylen Daniels. You had some weird
67:04game script. So, I I think that the Bucs are going to be I I don't think they're going to be an elite offense to your
67:09point and I think you're still going to probably have some duds from him, but I think they're going to be a
67:12middle-of-the-pack offense. And that's that's and that's really all we need for fantasy in an offense that I think the more we think about it is looking more
67:20and more consolidated. I think it's Bucky, it's probably Eggbuka, and maybe Baker becomes a thing. Like that that's really it. Like I mean
67:28Kenneth Gainwell today like before the fourth quarter, he only had 25% of the attempts. Uh Sean Tucker before the fourth quarter had one carry. Now it was
67:36a carry inside the 5-yard line, which is annoying. He didn't score on it. He lost yards. And he scored on that one.
67:43>> [laughter] >> Yeah. And then he broke off the long run later, which gave him the 11.2 points on the day. So it can be tricky though cuz
67:49in any game Tucker could steal that touchdown from you like they tried to do it today before the game was even out of
67:54hand. That that's like the trickiest part, you know, around Bucky, but man like they've been giving him that 70% snap share multiple games. So I'm like a
68:02player as good as him like the opportunity share may be a little kind of wonky every week, but if you're telling me he's going to be out there
68:08for 2/3 of the plays like as looking as good as he is like I I think Bucky I think Bucky has a
68:13really good chance to be a running back one. But but I I do get your point. I think I I I had him as a mid-range
68:18running back two.
68:19I might move him to low-end running or high-end running back two, you know, this you know, this week. Um we'll see, but somewhere in that range.
68:27>> You're feeling good if you got Bucky Irving on your fantasy team. That's all I'm saying.
68:30>> so good. Yeah. He's back to being the the one the Bucky we saw as a rookie.
68:35>> Great to see. You know who didn't look good is the entire Carolina Panthers off >> [laughter] >> But let's give some credit to Tampa Bay
68:41here, man. They held the Packers to 17 points. They held the Cowboys to 16. And now the Panthers to 13. So, you know,
68:48Todd Bowles' last ditch effort to, you know, save the job maybe bleeding into the defensive game plan. I don't know, but the Buccaneers, man, that is one of
68:55the things sticking out to me where like next week they're facing the Falcons and I guess that's a game where we have
69:01Bijan and Drake and that's of all, you know, Pitts is consolidated enough, but it's a tough match-up and we do need to,
69:06I think, really start giving the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense some >> Dude, that was my biggest takeaway on the sheet. I don't know how much we can
69:11take away from, you know, the Panthers.
69:13Sometimes you just have a bad game, you kind of throw it out. But, that's what I had written down and bolded. I was like,
69:18"Bucks, much tougher match-up than we think." Like, they are really Yes, they're they're gelling and they do a lot of interesting things with
69:27their scheme as well. They're not afraid to blitz. They have some guys that can play man coverage, but they'll mix it
69:32with zone. Um I I I think they're a pretty tricky team to play. And to your point, like like Vita Vea, having him to
69:38really man the middle, just it honestly does free up a lot of different things you may want to do when you know that
69:43guy can Hell, that guy may require three blockers on some plays. So, I do think this defense is one that uh
69:50you know, we we're going to have to upgrade and and think about it when we have other offenses playing against them.
69:57>> And they've been doing it at least in the last few weeks without Antoine Winfield put on, you know, the center
70:01field area. So, again, can't say enough good things about that defense. I am pretty much inclined to throw out the offensive performance again. This was
70:07Chuba Hubbard's first game where he didn't have a top 12 finish. Jaylen Cocker, of course, dotted. Could have had a 48-yard touchdown, but rare bad
70:15throw from Bryce Young. He did have a gorgeous throw down the middle to Darren Waller for a 50-yard touchdown. And then, unfortunately, Terrace Marshall
70:21McMillan couldn't really get going. So, still consolidated, still have 6 weeks of evidence this year or five, I know they've had their bye. Five games of
70:28evidence this year of the Panthers being a really freaking good offense. I'm inclined to go ahead and give them that respect in the head of next week against
70:34the Packers on Thursday night football.
70:36Speaking of moving on, we had the Bengals take down the Ravens 35-13.
70:40Cincy winning and covering with ease as three-point faves over cash at 46 and a half. And by ease, I'm doing me on the
70:46final score board, cuz this was a rough first half, man, for the Bengals. Zero points, three first downs, 59 total yards in the first 30 minutes of the
70:54game. And then, the second half happened. We got a halftime speech from Jamar Chase. Dwayne rallied the troops, 35 points, 18 first downs, 299 yards.
71:03Let's have Jamar Chase start giving speeches before every half of football and see what happens, man. So, four touchdowns from Joey Burrow, got one to
71:10Tee Higgins, had 148 yards, man. I think I saw Hayden Winks tweet out he's on like a 1,600 receiving yard pace
71:16quietly. So, great stuff from Tee and he was just looking like peak alpha version of Tee later in that game, which was
71:22good considering he was playing through some injuries before the bye. And then he Jamar Chase, man. Someone who I got asked on the radio last week, Dwayne,
71:28where's Mike Shoop was saying like, you know, this first round last year, I mean, the running backs got a little messy at the turn. We know there's been
71:35some busts there, but he was like, you know, the first 10 or 11 picks really all smashes. And the only comeback I had
71:40off the top of my head was like, we just haven't quite seen the boom version of Jamar Chase yet. And we didn't get that
71:45today, for sure, just 62 yards and a touchdown, but he did have a really good YAC moment. He had a sick route to get
71:52open in the end zone score. Like, I'm sure Jamar Chase will be fine, but it just has been now 7 weeks and we haven't
71:58gotten the boom Jamar Chase games. Would have been a lot cooler to get it today.
72:02I get that, but just seeing this offense click like they did for last 30 minutes, I'm sure it will be fine for Chase and
72:08company.
72:09>> It is going to be fine. Like, I mean, Jamar Chase is still like a a stud alpha in his prime playing with one of the
72:16best pocket passers in the NFL, right? I mean, Burrow threw for 292, four touchdowns today. We just don't have many guys that at a drop of a hat can do
72:24that. And then Joe Burrow is one of the few guys that still can do it. And so, with the way modern defenses play, it's
72:30really impacted so many of these quarterbacks. I do think the offenses are starting to find a little bit of a counter punch this year. We're seeing
72:37uh some of that across, you know, not just the Bengals. Um but, I I'm not worried at all about Jamar Chase. Like,
72:43I think he still belongs like in your top three receivers for the rest of the year. You got Puka or JSN right in your
72:50top two. And then I think you've got Jamar Chase right there, and it won't surprise me at all by the time at the
72:55end of the year when we look up that it's Ja'Marr Chase is the wide receiver one overall. So, no, I'm not worried
73:00about it. I was super glad though to see T T Higgins really get his boom game and get going. And the other nice thing for
73:05T, uh maybe he's just 100% healthy now cuz we finally saw a game where he played a really big route share. In
73:11fact, didn't leave the field on passing plays today. Had a 100% route share.
73:16That's something that I'd kind of been monitoring. I'm like, man, we're getting a lot of games where T Higgins is like
73:20at this 80% mark. So, might just not have been right, guys.
73:24Um but yeah, 26.8 fantasy points today.
73:27Had 142 air yards. 20.3 average depth of target today.
73:31Uh it was bombs away from Joe to T Higgins, and you do absolutely love to see it.
73:37>> We also got a bomb away, not bombs, bomb away to Mike Gesicki who for the second straight game caught one pass, but that
73:43one pass happened to be in the end zone for six points. So, 13 catches this season now for big Mike. Five of those
73:49were touchdowns. Only Jackson Smith-Njigba and Christian Watson have more receiving touchdowns than Mike Gesicki this year. So, there's a bunch of guys tied at five, all right? I'm
73:58messing with you guys a little bit there, but he keeps scoring, Dwayne, and I'm keep putting him in the tight end
74:02two, you know, top 20, I guess, conversation because of that. It's just It's just so tough, man. I'm assuming he's still splitting routes with Drew
74:09Sample. We did see Erick All unfortunately leave this one early with a knee injury, but even when like Higgins and Chase are out of the picture
74:15in some of these games, like we still don't see featured roles for Mike Gesicki. So, he's getting you 6.5 points per week or whatever, maybe
74:23seven. I think that's probably about it, but hey.
74:25>> it's still it's still a four-way committee, but like he's he's the He and, you know, Chase Brown, like they're essentially splitting like who's the
74:32third option behind T Higgins and Ja'Marr Chase right now in this offense.
74:37So, yeah, you can easily catch you can easily get a touchdown whenever you're doing that.
74:41>> Chase Brown, scale one to 10, how worried are we, Dwayne? How worried?
74:47>> Well, I I we're less worried that it was just going to be P Ryan taking over. I mean, Chase Brown played 75% of the
74:53snaps today. Uh almost 60% of the rushing attempts. Only 11 attempts, but they dropped back to pass 61% of the time.
75:00Um and P Ryan was out there for 24% of the snaps, only 21% of the rushing attempts. And then you had Taj Brooks
75:06really coming in and doing some cleanup duty at the end. So, both of those guys would have been a little bit higher than
75:11those numbers, but it was just uh pretty much we were in blowout conditions by the time we got to the final driver two,
75:17which gave Taj Brooks some work. So, look, the efficiency was still bad, 3.5 yd per carry, and that's been the problem with Chase Brown.
75:24Uh but he also had, you know, an 18% target share today. You know, he had five targets. Uh you know, he caught
75:30four balls for 19 yd. You'd like to see more yards than that, but like you know you're going to get your gains where
75:35that's going to be 30 to 40 yd. So, you're not getting what you hope you drafted Chase Brown to be, but I just
75:40want to say I don't it's not the role, it's him.
75:43He's he's not doing enough with his opportunities, man. Like I was really hoping like the P Ryan thing after fumbling would like like light a fire
75:51under Chase Brown. Obviously, you know, I haven't watched all the film from this one. There may not have been a lot there
75:55for him. Uh you know, on the plays I saw, he was bottled up behind the line of scrimmage several times, you know, in
76:01this game. So, I think, you know, as where where people were as far as like being in a full panic mode, like you
76:05should probably be a little bit less now. But yeah, you're not super happy with 9.8 PPR points in a game where a
76:10dude got 75% of the snaps. You're like on a being on the Bengals team where they scored many today, you'd be
76:16thinking you're getting 20 to 25 fantasy points, and you didn't. So, I think it's just the fact of the matter is he's he's
76:21a mid-range running back too, man.
76:22That's what he is. I mean, you just can't we can't be ranking him, you know, obviously with bye weeks he's going to
76:28be closer to the top 12, but I I don't I don't know way to like get around that. Um and P Ryan today did
76:35still a carry inside the five. They only had one attempt inside the five, and they gave it to P Ryan. Of course, he
76:39scores the touchdown. Like if they give that carry to Chase Brown, who knows if he would have scored it, maybe he
76:44doesn't. People feel a lot better. You'd be sitting here going, "Okay, I got 16 fantasy points out of Chase Brown. Like,
76:50I'm back on track."
76:52>> And I know it's concerning to see Perine get that goal line touch and also be someone they like on pass downs. I do
76:57think Brown got a little bit banged up earlier that drive, so I wouldn't assume that's definitely Perine as their preferred goal line back moving forward,
77:04but obviously they trust Perine enough where we are seeing stretches of Brown struggling, they're using him more than we have seen in past years.
77:11>> uh, just real quick on Brown. He did have six 67% of the snaps inside the five. The one snap Perine got was the
77:17carry for the touchdown. So, that kind of sucks. But, the route participation was still really good for Brown today.
77:23Uh, 63% versus, you know, for Perine it was 19%. And Brown got all four of the two-minute offense snaps. It wasn't
77:31Perine. So, really it was that one pesky carry, you know, inside the five that got Perine there today. Otherwise, all the other data was still really other
77:39than Brown not playing well, all the other [laughter] data was in it was in Brown's corner.
77:44I will say this, Ian. Like, the the the more he plays like this and we don't always see this play out.
77:49Like, in fact, we've seen it's not really predictive of future workload.
77:52Like, sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't, but it's basically like we don't know. It comes down to like what do the
77:56coaches decide to do.
77:58Um, like, you do have to have some fear that like if you keep playing that way, I mean, it can't be a good thing, you
78:04know, for way the coaches are viewing you.
78:06>> Well, and my thought was always, all right, you got Chase Brown, you got got the dynamic pass catcher, all right, and
78:12that's why he should be the guy over Perine. Chase Brown's got 110 touches now without a gain of 15 plus yards.
78:18What does he do better than Perine?
78:20Nothing.
78:21>> Yeah.
78:22I think that's fair. I mean, I I I I think, you know, you have to lean The one thing I would say is like we've
78:28with Chase Brown specifically we have seen this every year of his career.
78:33>> [laughter] >> Where it's like, man, he looks terrible and all of a sudden the light comes on and we're like, oh, glad I didn't cut or
78:39trade Chase Brown, you know, because now the dude is going absolutely ham. So, I don't know what the deal is, but this
78:45seems to be a problem and all we can do is hope that like like the last two seasons, he does officially he does
78:51eventually find that efficiency button and we feel way better about it at some point.
78:56>> And look, it sucks, guys, if you got Chase Brown in your fantasy team. I'm not selling him. I will admit I'm not
79:01going out of my way to buy him particularly with the trade deadline going on right now cuz that would be talk about a nightmare fuel.
79:05>> And they've been linked to Barkley and JT.
79:08>> Yeah. So, hold, I think is the move right now.
79:12>> Hold, yeah.
79:12>> Hold.
79:13Meanwhile, for the Ravens, just please get Lamar Jackson back soon, guys.
79:16Derrick Henry's averaging 3.9 yards per carry this season, but I think it's pretty much because the offensive line hasn't been the same. We also now saw
79:23their first-round guard, Vederian Lowe, suffer a knee injury, so that's not going to help matters. And Lamar is out of the picture, man. But, yeah, rushing
79:30yards before contact, they're 18th this year. The running backs specifically, I mean, the last two seasons, they were second behind the Philadelphia Eagles
79:37and we're obviously seeing kind of a similar sort of thing happen in Philly uh behind that banged-up and now bad offensive line there. So, luckily,
79:44though, we do have Zay Flowers and my god, is this dude killing it, Dwayne.
79:47Eight catches, 137 yards, and a touchdown that was literally just a simple screen that he put his foot in the ground and said, "See you later,
79:54everybody." So, the start-stop on this dude is just unlike really anyone else in the league right now. If we got every
80:00NFL player to participate in a game of tag, I'd be putting my money on Zay Flowers to come out of there with that
80:06So, again, just please get back Lamar Jackson, but shout out to Zay Flowers cuz it he was he wasn't killing us the
80:12last couple weeks, you know, shout out to Declan Doyle, you know, always scheming up really There was a couple more plays today where it's just like,
80:18man, this dude is in his bag over here trying to make good things happen, but it was good to see we could still just
80:23get this big-time boom game even with former Pro Bowl QB Tyler Huntley under center because I would like to think Lamar is going to be back next week, but
80:30at this point, Dwayne, who knows?
80:32>> Yeah, I mean, 27.7 fantasy points today for Zay Flowers, but over a large sample with Tyler Huntley, like we're treating
80:40Zay Flowers more like a wide receiver two. If we get him with Lamar Jackson, like we're locked into wide receiver one
80:44status, and I think that's what you're saying. We can still get a boom game like this. I will say just watching Zay
80:50play, watching the way he comes back for the ball, too. And he so he uses it to make sure the ball's not intercepted and he
80:56gets the ball, but also that's how he creates that little bit of separation from the defender at the last second, which is just enough that then he turns
81:03that into like what his next move is, and he gets away from the guy that's covering him. It's just It's really fun
81:09to see and like how he can do it in a phone booth, and it looks like he's captured, and once he makes that one
81:14little move, man, his acceleration is so insane. He just pulls away from everybody, and we saw it obviously on that long touchdown right away early in
81:21the game. And it We've seen that play like three times this year, where he catches He was coming back to the ball
81:27on that play, guys. Coming back towards the quarterback basically when he caught it, and he's still somehow turns that That's really hard to do. Most of the
81:33time you're coming back to the ball, you're not able to turn around and then create like these moves and get away
81:39from everyone and go score a touchdown.
81:41So, yeah, big hat tip to Flowers. The other thing I'll say in the passing game that was interesting today, Jacobi Lane,
81:48Ian, is challenging for that wide receiver two role. Only gave you 5.5 PPR points today, but 75% route share for Jacobi Lane versus 73% for Rashod
81:58Bateman. So, those two guys essentially now locked in a battle for the wide receiver two-three role. Really Devonte's Walker faded to the
82:05background, which is something we thought might be possible after talking about it last week on the show. Mostly just running the deep route kind of stuff. So,
82:13if you are someone that picked up Jacobi Lane, he only gave you five and a half fantasy points. I'd tell you just hold,
82:17okay? Like the The fantasy points didn't come today, but the thing you were hoping to see was like could he take a route share jump
82:24versus where he was last week, and he definitely did that today. And he had two red zone targets, one end zone
82:29target. So, all the things that we've talked about with him being like he's never going to overtake Zay Flowers to be like the main guy in the offense, but
82:36the way Jacoby Lane could get there, Ian, is like maybe gives you like an 18% target share, but he becomes such a
82:41major part of what they do when they get down into scoring position. And with Lamar Jackson, when you get him back,
82:47like then we know there's going to be a lot of scoring opportunities. And then just the fact that, man, Mark Andrews,
82:52good god. Like I I almost can't watch it anymore. Like I just like the numbers are not good, but when I just watch him,
82:59I'm like, man, like it's really sad.
83:02Like it's really sad. Like there is there's not any burst, there's there's no separation, there's no pull away, there's no YAC.
83:09It feels like uh it's it's kind of like the old Zach Ertz. It's like you just kind of catch it and fall down, man.
83:15Rough times right now for Mark Andrews.
83:18>> I have this, you know, just school sheet where I'm taking notes and you know, questions for me to go answer and stuff
83:23after the game and everything. And for Mark Andrews, um my first note was just Mark Andrews caught the football, exclamation point.
83:30And then of course he dropped one later.
83:32So, yeah, bar couldn't be lower. I will say Jacoby Lane did, you know, drop that end zone target. Could have been a
83:36six-yard score. So, it would have been a lot cooler if he had it, but that would be the part where I would be more
83:41excited about Jacoby taking off, hopefully eventually, is because Andrews has become such a zero out there. So, is he even still playing 70-80% routes,
83:49Dwayne? Cuz yeah, give me more Josh Oliver.
83:51>> Yeah, yeah. And Oliver is is actually like looked good on the small sample, but he's looked good on it. And Hipner's
83:57made a few plays as well as well this year. So, I you know, I they are lowering Andrews' role. Like I mean, we I thought he might
84:05be 80-85% this year and they've already taken that away. And I wouldn't be surprised, to be honest, man, like as the season goes on that we see this
84:12route share continue to come down for him.
84:15>> Good. Do it. Ravens at the Bills next week. Get your popcorn ready for that one. Hopefully Lamar will be returning.
84:21Moving on, last game of the early afternoon slate, we had the Giants take down the Texans in overtime 27-21. We got a revenge game walk-off touchdown
84:30from another in Devin Singletary there at the end because unfortunately just one injury after another to this Giants backfield. Tyrod Tracy left early with a
84:38hamstring injury. Cam Akers pretty much took over after that and had a real nice burst of a run in OT, but actually
84:44pulled up at the end. I thought he might have concussed himself cuz his head kind of smacked down pretty hard at the end
84:49of that run. He said afterwards he felt a little something in his hamstring, which is why he slid down. So, they do
84:54have a bye in week eight, which is pretty much Akers' response to it. Like, yeah, good thing we do have that bye.
85:00But, hey, kudos to the Giants, man. The first-place Giants winning outright as 10 and 1/2 point dogs. Obviously had some points going on with this one, too.
85:07They cleared that 42.5 point over. But, the real story, Dwayne, is J.J. McCarthy looks good. He looks really good. I'm about to put together
85:15the throwing mixtape tomorrow morning.
85:17It's going to be a hot one. I don't know how this is happening. I don't want to call Kevin O'Connell a fraud.
85:25It's only been five quarters, but it's been just even independent of J.J.
85:30McCarthy, man. Like, it's been one of the better five-quarter stretches. Like, I don't want to say one of the best of
85:35the season like period, but it's been really freaking good. It's been on par with I think some of the best football
85:40like C.J. Stroud's played, for example.
85:43It hasn't felt fluky. They're tight-window throws that he's ripping and making plays. Like, yeah, he's giving neighbors like neighbors is making plays one-on-one coverage,
85:51obviously, and doing his thing, avoiding tackles. But, it really hasn't felt fluky, man. It just hasn't.
85:58>> Yeah.
85:58>> I mean, look at him. He's pushing the ball vertically down the field. That that's the big thing, right? I mean, so
86:03if you look at his average depth of target today, like he had a 71% completion rate, but he's pushing the ball down the field. Typically,
86:10you see a 71% completion rate, and then you like go look at it and you're like, "Oh, they threw the ball on average 5
86:15yd." And And that's not what we're getting from McCarthy uh in the fourth quarter last week or what we saw today.
86:21So, still a really small sample. Like I it's a situation where, you know, we can't just throw out everything, you know, that we saw from McCarthy last
86:28year, but we have to take into account where we are right now. And the other thing, man, is he was under pressure a
86:33lot. 50% pressure rate today. He was sacked three times, but only 20% right of those pressures turned into sacks.
86:40And that was an issue last year for J.J.
86:42McCarthy. So, if he's figuring out like how to manage the pocket, you know, and just, you know, make those small little
86:48subtle movements you need to stay alive and still be able to throw the ball down the field, which is what feels like's
86:53happening because he's not He didn't scramble at all today. No scrambles today. He had one designed carry on a a short and a short-yardage situation
87:00where he picked up a yard. Yeah, I agree with you. Like it has to be an upgrade in our mind for McCarthy. It actually
87:06drives me crazy because I play in a superflex league where I went and I picked up McCarthy. People just left him
87:12there. And I was pretty excited to have him as my third quarterback. And then I got the news that Puka was questionable
87:17due to the calf, played in the late window, so I had to drop McCarthy and go pick up Mekai Lemon and in case Puka
87:22It's one of those things that like just drive you nuts. You're like, "Really?"
87:25And it's like, "All right." But I mean, I had to do it just to cover myself. And after seeing this game, even though he
87:30didn't throw a a touchdown, I'll I'll tell you like I was sitting there going, "Man, like I so wish that wouldn't have
87:35happened cuz I would like to have McCarthy on my team." And I think the thing with McCarthy, we don't know for
87:40sure, guys, what's going to happen.
87:41But what I can say, Ian, is before we were probably like, "J.J. McCarthy, if you got to label him as a quarterback,
87:48you're like, 'Bust bust.'" Well, now I think we would at least have to say there's boom-bust potential here. So, there is a boom. There's a boom scenario
87:57that could occur, and I do think that this offense runs really well with him.
88:01Like with all the heavy personnel stuff they use. They only dropped back to throw 48% of the time today. Man, using
88:07play-action though, he gets under center, all those sort of things. So, I Yeah, I I'm definitely upgrading J.J.
88:13McCarthy and I'll say this, like you start looking at some of the names that are out there that you can pick up on
88:18the waiver wire if you're trying to carry two quarterbacks and you like your first one, I'm much more likely to carry
88:23McCarthy as my QB2.
88:25Just and especially if my QB1's already had their bye. Like you're looking for a ceiling scenario.
88:31>> I think we have to give Matt Nagy some credit for bringing out the best in him so far, man. And honestly, Jackson Dart
88:35before his injury looked good and as much as there have been some bad from Matt Nagy over the years. He went back
88:41to the Chiefs and we got the bad version of Mahomes and everything like that. He coaxed out some QB1 production from
88:46Mitch Trubisky for at least one season, man. So, I think he makes it pretty cut and dry for McCarthy. He lets their
88:53quarterbacks go out there and just play without thinking so much and does that work over a 5-year period? Maybe not at
88:58a level that you need to do be contending for titles or anything like that, but for right now, it's taking a
89:03guy who we thought was maybe a couple years away from being out of the freaking league and all of a sudden he's
89:07looking like a legitimate good starting quarterback. So, shout-out to McCarthy and obviously shout-out to his pass catchers making it happen. Malik Nabers
89:14four straight game with 100 plus yards.
89:17He now has two 100 yard games in two games with J.J. McCarthy. Uh Justin Jefferson only had one last year, so
89:23just saying those are what the numbers are telling me. Obviously a disappointing day for Isaiah Likely.
89:27Caught us two of four targets for 12 yards. Did seem like maybe got a little bit banged up late and was playing
89:32through it, but again, man, they got a bye to figure it out. So, the only other thing would be do we have
89:37a sample of what it was looking like with Scat and Tracy before the injury cuz just all time hilarious reporting this morning where it was like, oh yeah,
89:44Scat will be set up for a featured role, but also we're going to see a lot of Tyrone Tracy. Like give me a break,
89:49insiders.
89:51>> Yeah. [laughter] Yeah, well, the person closer to the team, right? And Jordan Ronan, he came out and said no, closer
89:56to a 50/50 split. Uh you only had three drives before the injury. Uh and the fourth drive is whenever Tracy got injured. So, over
90:04those first three drives, small sample, 33% of the snaps to Tyron Tracy versus what we had for Cam Skattebo was at
90:1355%. So, I think, you know, that that tells us that Skattebo is really back in the role that we saw before. Big difference today
90:21is, and honestly giving a lot of credit to the Giants offensive line, man. They Skattebo's two biggest runs, I'm not trying to take away from him. They were
90:28wide open holes.
90:29And then obviously, once you get Skattebo going, like cuz you saw that later in the game, just breaking tackles, >> Yeah. Chill. Running through people.
90:37Still a really tough guy to get on the ground. So, it was nice to see those lanes opening up. And I do think some of
90:42that comes back to the McCarthy stuff versus what you have with Justin Fields.
90:46You know, when you can incorporate a player that's got some mobility like McCarthy under center and some of the things that the defense has to worry
90:52about, even though McCarthy didn't have designed runs today, it just really helps out the running back room. And so, I think it's a good compliment. So,
90:59Tracy did look like it was going to be the running back two before that and Singletary was going to be the running
91:04back three. Obviously, once Tracy got injured, then we did have Devin Singletary jumping in there and playing more and had the really good run for a
91:10touchdown at the end of the game on that trap play, man.
91:1341 yd or 30 yd touchdown at the end of the game to to ice things. So, I do think we can look at it as Skattebo
91:20being the guy that, you know, we're projecting, you know, as the running back one. Still a committee though.
91:25Didn't have the routes again, 40% route share, only a 4% target share. So, don't think we're really going to see the receiving stuff come back. And part
91:33of that also ties to you've got, you know, Malik Nabers, Isaiah Likely. Like a lot of targets are going their way.
91:39And real quick shout out Malachi Fields.
91:42His role's been growing and then like today, you know, he had 12.3 PPR points, you know, working down the field. He had
91:4771 air yards, caught four balls for 83 yds.
91:51Um, does feel like he is starting to really overtake Darnell Mooney as being the guy they want out there. Now, Mooney
91:56had a few more routes than him this week after not really getting much at all last week. But I I do think Malachi
92:02Fields eventually just takes over for Mooney. How much is left behind Neighbors and Likely? Probably not a lot, guys. But, there's some contingent
92:08value. Say maybe Likely did miss a little bit of time. Now, we get the bye week to let hopefully, knock on wood,
92:14Isaiah Likely's 100%. That's That's the outcome we want in week nine. But, Fields, for you guys that are in deeper leagues, you know, he is a name to
92:21remember.
92:22>> His big play where he just kind of took a little out route and actually turned it up for a nice chunk, man. Showing off
92:27the yak. Something that we didn't always see at Notre Dame. More of that contested catch artist than anything out there. So, good seeing the rook go ahead
92:34and put on for that. Another thing, Dwayne, we do need to consider that they're doing the Jameis Winston tush push, man. They got down there and it
92:41was first and goal at the 1-yard line.
92:43They just did it two times in a row.
92:44Which, good, man. Like, honestly, I think it was It's always Jason Kelce talking about this, right? He's like, "No team's ever been stopped four
92:50straight times on quarterback sneaks from the one." Why wouldn't you do it, man? So, I see why they're doing it.
92:56It's only from the 1-yard line, but like, that also hurts the Skatabu bull case just a little bit.
93:02>> Yeah, and it hurts J.J. McCarthy a little bit, too. Because, like, we know he's a guy that has some athleticism and
93:07could probably score some of those rushing touchdowns. So, yeah, definitely something. Good call out. Like, that's something we'll have to keep an eye on.
93:14>> Otherwise, for the Houston Texans, just 237 total yards, man. Had 10 penalties for 80 yards. They were shooting themselves in their foot. Unfortunately,
93:21I just think it was the offensive line.
93:23So, it's always been a situation where the Giants, I mean, they've been bad for so long and they've just loaded up this
93:28front seven with one high high first-round pick after another. So, even without Brian Burns in the picture, man, there's still all kinds of talent out
93:35there. And they managed to pressure C.J.
93:36Stroud on 55% of his dropbacks there.
93:39So, Nico Collins had a dud. The only touchdown through the air went to I'm sorry, two touchdowns through the air.
93:44Uh Marvin Harrison Jr. though was the receiver catching one, but that was just for 6 yards out there. So, yeah, man,
93:49just one of these games where would have liked to expect more given how well Stroud was playing and given the fact
93:54that the Giants didn't exactly look all that scary on paper with a defense, but I think it goes to show you, man, when
94:00you are a team like Houston where you have a bad offensive line, I mean, you can kind of have these more random duds
94:06come out of nowhere sometimes.
94:08>> Yeah, and in the receiver room, we just had a complete, you know, rotation.
94:11Obviously, Nico Collins did Nico Collins things, but even his route share came down to 80% cuz you had Xavier Hutchinson get 50%, and he was honestly
94:19their best receiver today. He had the best target share at 21%. He scored 11.9 PPR points. He also had two rushing
94:26attempts for 12 yards. And a funny uh development, uh Dare Ogunbowale had zero PPR points and zero attempts, but we had
94:33Jaylen Nowell get two carries. We had uh Hutchinson get uh two rushing attempts.
94:38So, uh it was a situation Well, it wasn't Nowell. There was another running There was another receiver. It was Tank Dell. Tank Dell had one attempt for 2
94:44yards. So, >> Welcome back.
94:46>> Yeah, welcome back, Tank Dell. Keashawn Booty, 43% route share. Marvin Harrison Jr., 27% route share. Tank Dell, 20% route share. So, it's like I'm like, "Oh
94:54my god." Like, really? Like, this is And and and we did have Jaylen Nowell get hurt towards the the end of the
95:00game. You know, he got injured late.
95:01Yeah, so he might miss some time here, guys.
95:05We'll have to see what happens. Jaylen Nowell's been playing really good, so you hate to see it. You do get a Week 8
95:08bye for the Texans, so probably won't hear much about it until we get, you know, closer to Week 9 cuz, you know,
95:13these guys, they don't have to say anything about these injuries >> on the week that's off. So, we'll see if they get Harrison more incorporated,
95:20Ian. Uh he did have a 50% targets per route run. Was only out there 27% of the routes. To your point, he caught that
95:25end zone touchdown where they kind of left him alone up the seam. You know, I think he was It's kind of funny just
95:30seeing Marv's face. It's like It's almost like, you know, the me? I just I got a touchdown. Let's go, baby. Uh so,
95:36we'll see what happens with that. Uh mostly working downfield. 21.3 average depth of target today. But again, got to play from the slot some, something we
95:43never got to see with the Cardinals. So, I think it's two data points, even though it's a small sample, like just
95:48seeing some of the things they're doing with Marv, there is a glimmer of hope.
95:52And if Jaylen Nowell were to miss time, you know, he suddenly came out and like you would hope they give they give up a round two pick
95:59to go get Marv, you would hope that at some point we see it as really being more him and Nico Collins, right? And
96:04then like maybe it's Jaylen Nowell playing the third receiver role.
96:08Uh but right now, like they're just splitting it up between all these guys.
96:12>> Again, I've never been trying to kid myself thinking Marv's going to be this top 20 receiver down the stretch. But
96:17boomer bust, wide receiver four, wide receiver three with some teams on the bye, I do think that could be on the
96:21table for him. But as you did mention, they do have that week eight bye, so we'll know more about some of these
96:25injuries when that comes to fruition. I think a similar sentiment here with this backfield. Obviously, David Montgomery hasn't been on IR dealing with this
96:32groin injury, but he could be a candidate to come back. And Woody Marksman, as much as if you think he's better than Dameon, like I'm not going
96:38to call you crazy or anything like that.
96:40I just also think that behind this O line, I mean the answer is probably just going to be no if we're going to see
96:45Monty back in the picture and splitting things once again. I don't think we've seen anything from Woody over these past couple weeks, Dwayne, to think that if
96:52and when Monty is healthy, that's they're not going to do anything different. I think they're going to go right back to that 50/50 split.
96:57>> Yeah, I mean basically he's playing the Braelon Allen role minus fantasy points.
97:01I mean that and part of it, to your point, it's not all on Woody Marks. It's a lot of it's on the offensive line, you
97:06know, for the Houston Texans. One of the lowest teams in the league as far as yards before carry uh for running back
97:12attempts. But yeah, I mean you get an 89% snap share, man. You get 80% of the rushing attempts today with 19 carries,
97:19and you only get 9.1 PPR points. I think that really tells us the state of the situation here with this offensive line.
97:26>> And again, I know this was a good matchup on paper in terms of the Giants defense being bad. But we got to be
97:31careful when it's the, you know, movable object against unstoppable force situation. Like there's no matchup that's good for the Houston Texans
97:38offensive line, okay? There's some that are worse than others, but they are never good. Maybe they'll figure out during the bye.
97:44Maybe the Dallas Cowboys is right. But Dwayne, Allen, now turn over to you, my friend, before we get into the late
97:50afternoon action.
97:51>> Yeah, absolutely. Guys, we can't always protect you, you know, from bad offensive line play. There's just no way we can do it. But, imagine that your
97:59Wi-Fi could protect you and your home at the same time because that is possible with Xfinity. You don't have to imagine
98:05that anymore with Xfinity Shield.

98:51>> Late afternoon slate, we had the Broncos take down the Cardinals 30 to 16. Denver winning and covering as 4 and 1/2 point
98:56faves over cash here at 44. Bo Nix, it was better, okay? Now, we had a 52-yard touchdown on a screen pass. RJ Harvey,
99:07that one I don't think we're going to be singing songs about, at least in terms of Bo Nix's involvement there, but he
99:11ran for a 62-yard touchdown, Dwayne, which was kind of hilarious because there was no one within like 10 yards of him the entire time out there, but he
99:19went out there, he did it. He only had 37 rushing yards in the first 6 weeks of the year. So, it was great to see Bo Nix
99:24get some more fantasy points, at least for himself out there if you guys had the balls to start him in this, you
99:29know, good match-up. The problem is next week they face the Chiefs, and now we just have to look at this and say, "Six
99:35weeks of tough match-ups where we got bad to horrible performance from this offense, one week where we did get good performance against a bad defense. Do we
99:44think this one get right spot against the Cardinals now all of a sudden puts the Broncos in play against the Chiefs?
99:49I don't really think so. Particularly with Jaylen Waddle now dealing with a chest injury that did not look good. Not that he was exactly booming down the
99:55stretch anyway, just 48 yards on seven targets here, but yeah, was trying to get a reverse, fell on the ball, got
100:01tackled. Really hope it's not a collarbone, but certainly look like it could be in that general vicinity. So, we'll see what happens there.
100:08Unfortunately, man, I think it just comes down this point Dwayne to what you think about the backfield because if you want to go out of your way to start
100:15quoting Sutton or any of these other receivers who we know are going to be rotating with big Jordan Humphrey amongst any other dudes out there,
100:22you know, you have more faith than I do.
100:23So, the big story here, what do we see from this backfield that once again includes Mr. Zonovan Knight?
100:29>> Yeah, Zonovan Knight led the team with a 50% snap share, a 41% rush share. So, nine attempts went for 54 yards, six
100:38yards per carry. Um JK Dobbins was behind him, Ian. He scored 8.3 fantasy points versus 8.9 for Zonovan Knight.
100:4521% snap share, 27% of the rushing attempts. And then RJ Harvey, he scored 14 fantasy points. You talked about his long touchdown run. That was pretty
100:54sweet. But 25% of the snaps with 14% of the attempts. So, he was obviously a guy getting some of the work out there on
101:02the passing downs with a 25% route share. But it was also behind Zonovan Knight at 34%. Now, I I haven't had a
101:09chance to break this down like what it looked like drive to drive or anything like that, but this is pretty bullish for Zonovan
101:15Knight. Coleman. To come back off of IR in the first game, you're the lead back.
101:20I mean, kind of feels like a statement to me, Ian. Now, I'm sure it's it's Sean Payton, guys. So, we're probably going
101:28to continue to see a committee. Even if Zonovan Knight Coleman takes over as the running back one, it might be more like
101:33what we saw today where it's like, all right, half the work to Zonovan Knight Coleman and then the other half split
101:37between Dobbins and Harvey. But the bottom line is is if you went and snagged Coleman off the waiver wire last week, like you probably weren't on I
101:45wasn't expecting this. I was expecting him to come back and be part of the backfield, but to immediately get the 50% snap share and lead the team, like
101:53that's pretty big deal.
101:55>> Especially cuz like when he did have the good game and I think it was week two, Harvey wasn't even playing and then
102:00Dobbins got hurt early. So, we just hadn't really seen this happen to this point, but it happened and then in the
102:06postgame Sean Payton comes out and says, quote, "Got to get him more touches."
102:09Definitely. Again, it's Sean Payton, you know, he told his wife to draft Jaylen Waddle, all right? So, like we can't always take everything he says about a
102:15workload, you know, completely at face value. But now, I even as someone who's been a little bit doubtful about Coleman being this big-time fantasy factor, just
102:23because I don't see Dobbins or Harvey completely exiting the picture. And I still don't see that, but man, they made R.J. Harvey look a lot more like Tyler
102:31Badie than I ever thought they would be going out here. So, Jamaal Williams not going to be someone, Dwayne, where I
102:36think we're going to be, you know, fighting to get him inside our top 20 or anything, but >> [gasps] >> we get to this point
102:42>> could work his way into it, you know? I mean, yeah, I think, you know, he's going to be a running back three for us
102:48right now.
102:50>> And he'll be the top-ranked Bronco, though.
102:52>> Yeah, probably the top-ranked ranked Bronco. Um you know, I'll keep them a little closer together probably this week cuz you know what can happen with
102:59one with one data point. But like if they're willing to do this right away, like who's to say they don't eventually give him 60%, you know, of
103:07the work? And if you if you were to get that from Jamaal Williams, then you're going to be feeling pretty good about
103:11it. So, I think it's one of these scenarios where it's like, all right, like this is a really good first data
103:16point and we just kind of have to be open to the fact that if if if the only signal we're getting from this is that
103:21the team likes him, like that's all we can really care about right now. If they like him, they could continue to grow
103:26his role.
103:27>> And I'll tell you what, again, it's a tough matchup in week eight against the Chiefs, but if Coleman does find a way
103:32to F round and take over this backfield week nine on, Panthers buy, Raiders, Steelers, Dolphins, Jets, Raiders, Bills, Patriots to week 17, could be
103:43what the kids like to call a league winner. Moving on to the Cardinals side of things, you know, just the Cardinals
103:48racking up stats down, multiple touchdowns in the fourth quarter, doing typical Jacoby Brissett things out here.
103:53So, just at the end too, man, like where they're at the 1-in line, they're still just trying to spam these goal-line
103:58fades and stuff instead of just using a tush push or QB sneak or anything. I don't know, but 272 for Jacoby Brissett,
104:05one touchdown to Trey McBride, who continues to be an absolute beast out there. Michael Wilson, another disappointing day, four catches on just
104:11eight targets, 55 yards. Seemed like he dropped a 5-yard touchdown there at the end. Always, you know, got to get that
104:16closer replay look though, so don't be yelling at me if I missed a tip at the last second, but moral of the story,
104:22I wanted more from Michael Wilson, particularly in a game that didn't have Pass or Tan out there following around.
104:27It's been a disappointing stretch, but let's all just relax, Dwayne, because they face the Cowboys next week.
104:33>> Yeah. Yeah, there'll be no way to not rank him in like the top 18 or so facing the Cowboys. He still gave you 10.6
104:40fantasy points today. Like, yeah, look, guys, it hasn't been the same since the boom he got 3 weeks ago. And that's
104:44that's what you're wanting, you know, from Michael Wilson, but I do think even though he's in this role where they're doing all these things for him, you
104:50know, he gets the great alignments, gets the motion, gets gets the uh play action stuff, it is a reminder that, you know, Michael
104:57Wilson, as much as we may like him, you know, we've really seen the target shares come down to Ian for the last
105:03three games. We've really had one spike game where he had a good target share, but 18% today, which is fine.
105:08That's that's like wide receiver three, wide receiver four territory, and Michael Wilson, you know, he got paid this off season, he's going to play this
105:15great role, but ultimately, we are still kind of back to a situation where it's like we really have a small sample of
105:21games where Michael Wilson has been good.
105:24And for the most part, he's either been mid or bad, right? Other than that. So, I do think he's going to get it he'll
105:29get it I know he will. He'll get it because I held off last week. I was like, all right, I'm going to give him
105:33one more week and I'm going to have to move this guy down. So, I know in my rest of season projections and ranks
105:38he's going to move down. This week, obviously to your point for the week next week he will be moving up because
105:44he plays the Cowboys. It's always this fun little game we get to play where people are like, man, I just read in
105:48your article that you downgraded this guy rest of season and now he's your wide receiver 18. I was like, well, I
105:52mean he's playing the Cowboys, man. I don't know what you want me to do about it.
105:55>> Right.
105:55>> But, um I will say, you know, with with Wilson I am low-key concerned though. Just it's just like I I I
106:04string together like mul- you know, a few games but like, come on, like give us like 23 24% targets. Like I am a
106:10little concerned.
106:11>> Everything's tough, too. You never see Michael Wilson with 5 yd of separation.
106:15Like, oh, there's another quick easy >> contested catch today that should have been a pick where he wrestled away from the DB. Like, dude dude's a tough
106:22player. But, yeah, I'm with you. It feels hard.
106:26>> And look, just because you have a high contested catch rate doesn't necessarily mean you can't separate, but a lot of
106:32times it does go in that direction. So, again, we got the Cowboys next week, but yeah, expecting top 10 numbers the rest
106:38of the way. Can't be feeling too great about that. What was the other thing you were saying?
106:41>> sell off the Cowboys to be honest. Just just because especially if they lose because how much longer until we see
106:48Carson back who's dealing with an injury right now?
106:51>> Yeah, I was just looking that up. I think it's just back spasms like a tweak cuz you know, you see the back injury
106:55you're like, good god, what's this going to be? Particularly someone with, you know, a long injury history going back to his college days, more so the elbow
107:01issue, obviously. But, at least for one more week, I think we got you, Kobe. So, go out there, do your thing, shred the
107:07Cowboys, and yeah, after that we'll see.
107:09>> Start Trey McBride and otherwise, yeah, you know, I mean, you you start Michael Wilson in a good match up.
107:15>> Maybe we get Jeremiah Love back cuz I'm kind of tired about talking about Tyler Allgeier and Bam Knight as well, Dwayne.
107:20Bam Knight runs hard, kudos to him. He had a cool like 30-yard run around left end breaking tackles. Like, you know,
107:25credit to the guy. Did drop an 11-yard touchdown, but how was that split between them? Cuz it just kills me again, all the hype with Tyler Allgeier
107:33anointing him as your starter, and then Jeremiah Love leads and they're like, "Huh? You can't beat out Zonovan Knight, you know, you better get comfy over
107:39there on the bench."
107:40>> Yeah, I mean, it was 47% of the snaps to Tyler Allgeier, 53% to Bam Knight, but 36% of the carries to Tyler Allgeier
107:47versus 32% for Bam Knight. So, eight carries for Allgeier, seven for Bam Knight.
107:52Which was kind of my point with some of the stuff I was tweeting. It wasn't that I had a small strong lean to either guy,
107:56but I just like, this just feels like a complete trap. You know, I mean, hey, the the hey, these reports, you know how they are, Ian. Like,
108:04sometimes these reports are right, but so often like they're just a big nothingburger.
108:08And they ended up being I Well, they weren't right cuz it moved the market to a point where uh props actually had Bam Knight as getting more
108:15carries than Tyler Allgeier, which didn't happen today. But, the bottom line is like, all you guys care about is like, it was still so close in a bad
108:24offense that it's like, we don't want to deal with it. I don't want to mess with this.
108:28So, yeah, let's get Jeremiah Love back and just feed him, but who knows? Now, they might be like, "Well, now Bam
108:33Knight looked pretty good, Ian. Like, we're going to get him in there." And we'll have three guys, and then we're all just going to be sick about that.
108:37So, it Yeah, bad situation. Uh it's it's Trey McBride, and that's it right now.
108:44>> Moving along, with the Lions take down the Packers 20-17. Green Bay did cover as 3.5 point dogs. The under did cash at
108:5155.5 points. One flag after another. I thought Tom Brady was about to just, you know, go down the field himself and give
108:57those refs a piece of his mind. But, ultimately, Lions got that game-winning 22-yard field goal because Jamaal Williams, not once, but twice, guys,
109:06pulled the old Brian Westbrook, Todd Gurley, whatever player you want to reference, where they again selfishly put their real life team and employment
109:13ahead of us loyal fantasy managers. So, slid down inside the 5-yard line two times, two sub the lines for the win.
109:19All Drake and Josh are around the side.
109:22It is funny, Dwayne, like watching this game, and I was like, "Oh, man, like what a not disappointing day from Jahmyr Gibbs.
109:28We still saw, you know, him just making defenders, you know, dive all over themselves. We know how good of a player
109:32he is. But, you do look up and it's like, "Oh, yeah, he still racked up, you know, 140 plus total yards even what
109:38what was a pretty quiet game." And in a normal game, he would have had the touchdown there at the end. And then
109:43you're talking about 20 plus fantasy points. So, still obviously a king amongst his mere mortals here in fantasy football land. Also good to see our one
109:52true sun god returning to doing stuff like that. 153 yards, caught nine of 11 targets out there. Jameson Williams also two touchdowns out there, 91 yards. Got
110:01a little help from Penei Sewell chatting a bunch of coverage, which is probably more of a indictment on the Packers than
110:06necessarily a feather in Drew Patterson's and Dan Campbell's cap, but whatever, it worked out anyway.
110:11Honestly, man, it was a good day for pretty much everyone involved except Sam LaPorta.
110:16And then, you know, Dwayne, I am a I am a bit of a sucker for conspiracies.
110:20Right after Sam LaPorta is pretty vocal about his contract, he gets completely iced out of the offense. Just interesting timing, is all I'm saying.
110:27>> It is interesting timing. Who knows if there's any I doubt there's anything to it. And I will say this, it is one of
110:33those games that we randomly get where they change Jamo's role.
110:37And they give him the intermediate stuff. We're like, "Oh my god, it's happening. They're going to run him on the crossers. They're going to get him
110:43in the intermediate stuff. Let him do the yac running across the field." And then the next game he goes back to being
110:48this vertical guy. But, you saw it today, there's a lot of cool design stuff for Jamo. That's how he he got his
110:54first touchdown on a really cool design thing. So, when they decide to really integrate Jameson Williams into the offense, these are the reminders that this is a very
111:02talented player. I mean, he had 29% target share today, 36% for Amon-Ra St.
111:06Brown. You get the two touchdowns, man.
111:0826.1 fantasy points today for Jamo. And he's such a tricky player because every week, you know, you're looking at it and you're like, well, you know, I
111:17really wanted to rank these wide receivers that have high team totals higher and you're like, well, the Lions have a high team total every single week
111:23and so [laughter] it's like, how do you like just keep on doing it? I did manage to do it this week. I ended up moving
111:29him ahead of Michael Wilson and a couple of other guys, so it worked out. But it's just if Sam LaPorta were to move on
111:36and if this were like some sort of a to your point conspiracy, man, Jamo, like if he didn't have to deal with another target earner and they
111:46incorporated him more into the game plan. Again, just cuz we've seen it so many times now, Ian. When they decide to
111:51do this in these games, like Jamo comes through in a big way.
111:55Uh but we also know that it doesn't usually mean anything the next game. It goes right [laughter] back to playing the role where like, okay, just going to
112:01play out the side outside and and run vertical routes, but to me, the big takeaway is it is a reminder of the
112:06talent level that Jameson Williams has when you're willing to do the right things with him.
112:12>> One of these scariest players to like put on your bench [clears throat] in all of fantasy football, I would say. Cuz
112:16again, we see the games where it's warranted, but then you put him on the bench for a day like this and my god,
112:21unfortunately things happen. Last point here, Dwayne. Jared Goff, 22 fantasy points per game. Only Josh Allen averaging more this year. Shout out.
112:31>> Yeah.
112:31Yeah, he's number two in the rest of season projection model last week and he was another one where I was like, man,
112:37that feels really high. And I went back and I looked at all the things that are in there and I'm like,
112:44I I can't change anything. There's nothing I can do about it. Like he has really good receivers. The defense has not been very good. Now, I will say the
112:51Lions defense over the last two games has shown a little bit of life and they've been running more man coverage.
112:56I think they basically just just said, "Eff it. We're just going to play aggressive. We're going to try to get after you." Which is not surprising,
113:02right? With Dan Campbell as your head coach. So, the The thing I think that could go sideways on Goff is if somehow
113:07they did figure out their secondary and they were able to be uh better on defense because the thing we did see
113:14today from this team is they got more back to what we got used to seeing with them like when they were like uh you
113:20know winning a ton of games right and getting you know bye weeks in the NFL playoffs it was there a much more
113:26balanced offense and that's the way things really played out today. They only dropped back to pass uh 50% of plays today. And we've been
113:34really seeing them right at a at a much higher rate like 65% and and that's the thing when I was looking at it and uh
113:41the projections for the rest of the season I was like man I can't like cuz you know it still takes into account
113:46like what they've done in recent seasons but as the season goes on you know how we do it like we start waiting more and
113:51more and more to this year and >> Yeah.
113:53>> unless the Lions defense turn turns it around that's the only thing that I see being kryptonite to Jared Goff and hand
113:59up man like I didn't draft enough Jared Goff this year and you know what I didn't really think enough through how
114:05bad this defense could be and I if you're going to let Jared Goff drop back and throw the ball a lot with these
114:11weapons he's just going to score a ton of fantasy points man.
114:14>> They did get Brian Branch back and got an interception his first game back so good for him but obviously he's still a
114:19bit banged up and yeah as great as Brian Branch is I do think the problems go a little bit deeper than just one man
114:26there. The only other issue would be again just the potential for these outdoor weather games to get become a problem for golf like we've seen in past
114:33years but you look at the schedule guys and as we've been shouting out since the preseason week nine in Miami you know
114:39maybe we get some showers going on there but obviously you'd expect that to be one of the warmer outdoor games out
114:44there. And then we don't have to deal with anything until unfortunately week 17. I understand it's a very important week in Chicago but you know it is just
114:51week 17 so we'll worry about that closer to it then. On the other side we had the Green Bay Packers could not run the ball
114:57with the spite the return of Josh Jacobs 19 rushes for just 60 yards on the day but having Josh Jacobs back out there
115:03did boost the offense. He actually caught, let's see, five passes 55 yards and a touchdown. Really, really nice play where he was somehow able to stay
115:11in bounds and break two tackles along the way. Unfortunately, that was a good play, but he did drop a potential 17-yard touchdown late in the fourth
115:18quarter that maybe could have given the Packers a chance to walk away with the W in this one. But, that really was the
115:23big storyline here, Dwayne, because look, it would have been nice to get bigger days out of Matthew Golden and Christian Watson, but I think we're
115:29seeing enough this year from both of them, too, still be very happy with again weekly kind of upside wide receiver two treatment. And on national
115:35tight end, I Tucker Kraft found his way into the end zone against the worst defense in the league by far against
115:41tight ends, but biggest story here was the return of Josh Jacobs. Did he walk right back into his usual featured role?
115:47>> Uh not quite. He had 58% of the rushing attempts though in this game. Like, what we're used to seeing from him like in
115:52healthy games over the last few years is around 66%. So, he was 10 percentage points below that. Uh well, he was at
115:5958%, so not quite 10 percentage points, but it was AJ Dillon still as the running back two and running back three
116:05today was AJ Dillon Williams, Ian, who had two carries. Uh obviously, he plays wide receiver. But, uh I think Jacobs, you know, probably by the next game, I I
116:14think he'll be right back, you know, where he was. And And the way this game worked out, he had 11 carries versus six
116:19for Lloyd. Um but if you look at all the work inside the five, he had 100% of the snaps there. He had the He had the one
116:25carry inside the 5-yard line. And to your point, was also active in the passing game, which you do like to see.
116:31Um he actually had a 17% target share today. So, he had seven targets. He caught five balls for 55 yards and
116:37obviously the touchdown you talked about where he showed great balance and power staying in bounds um and getting down the sideline to score that uh touchdown.
116:45So, but Josh Jacobs, like, I don't I'm not like whenever I updated him in the rest of season projections last week, like, I I took yards away from his
116:55yards per carry, guys. Like, I docked the efficiency because like the run blocking has not been good for the Packers. As much as I think he's better
117:01than MarShawn Lloyd and the other guys and I have him for more yards per carry than them, I don't think the efficiency is going to
117:07be great, but I think the ability to score touchdowns is that's what you're banking on with Josh Jacobs, right? He might average 3.8 yards per carry, but I
117:14think he's going to get most of the carries inside the 5-yard line and then again, he's he's a plus receiver, man.
117:20If you have it and it's not going to always be this way cuz they have other they have three other good weapons that
117:24they can throw the ball to.
117:26But we see this all the time from Jacobs. Like he's he's good enough in pass pro, they're willing to leave him
117:30out there. Like he could still easily have like a 60% route share and you're going to get games like it's kind of
117:35like Javonte Williams where you just get the occasional games where it's like, well, the defense actually does a good job covering those really good receivers
117:42and he can come through with a game like this. So, I think the big thing, man, is you're super happy to get 20 fantasy
117:47points in the first contest you get him back in your lineup.
117:50>> I was just about to say like Javonte with a little more upside, but Javonte is like the RB6 or RB7 this year with
117:56the way some of things are going down pre-Monday night football. So, look, just in the ranks again, it's tougher cuz you're not expecting the four plus
118:03or five plus yards per carry and just more weeks than not, I wouldn't expect Jacobs to be putting up these numbers of
118:09receiving, but I do think Jacobs is a better real-life talent than Javonte Williams, particularly as a receiver and the Packers offense, I mean,
118:17I think the Cowboys are turned around a little bit, but the Packers have been better than the Cowboys in offense this
118:21year. So, I think more weeks than not, Dwayne, once we do get the solidified regular Jacobs role, I'll probably be ranking him ahead of Javonte who's
118:28pretty much a consensus top 10 running back at this point anyway.
118:31>> Yeah, I think he will have a running back one. Low-end running back one is where I think we get to with Jacobs.
118:35This week I had him at mid-range running back two, but I think after seeing this performance and I do think we'll get
118:40another bump up in the utilization.
118:43And again, guys, like not trying to bash MarShawn Lloyd, but none of these guys have looked good. So, I mean, you just I
118:49think once they're ready, those are just in a most of this is going go through Jacobs. I don't I don't think any of
118:54these other guys have standalone value.
118:56Marshawn Lloyd will just be a handcuff.
118:59>> Is there something there with Savion cuz he again was a little bit banged up earlier on the year, but he's come back
119:03and it seemed like they have a plan for him. Just kind of He's taking the Jayden Reed role more or less.
119:08>> He has. Yeah. Yeah, so I and I think that's what he's going to play the rest of the year. So I mean he gave you 8.1
119:13fantasy points today. So if you're in a deeper league, I do think Savion is in play. Not somebody you're going to go
119:18blow a lot of your fab on, but I got a 67% route share today. Didn't get a ton of targets. 10% targets per route run.
119:25You know, wasn't like this super high end target earner in college either guys, but like it's part of a good offense and there would potentially be
119:32contingency value like if you either had Matthew Golden or Christian Watson or even Tucker Kraft. Like if they miss some time,
119:38you could have you could have a few weeks where you're kind of like, all right, I can roll with Savion Williams
119:42especially if we've got some teams on by.
119:45>> Packers going to go against the Panthers here on Thursday night football. Should be a pretty good game total I would
119:49guess, you know, probably right around 50 if not even above it in that one. So yeah, if you got some Packers in fantasy
119:54land, probably feeling pretty good about that. One more game Dwayne, but you got something else you want to grab for us
119:59first.
119:59>> Yeah, absolutely. We've got to talk about UNest here Ian because the cost of raising a child is climbing every single
120:05year and sadly because of this most families lack a dedicated investment account for their kids. Believe me, I got three of them guys. You want to
120:14prepare for this because it costs a lot of money, okay? But that's where UNest is here to help. With UNest, you can set
120:21up a tax-advantaged investment account for your children in under 10 minutes.
120:25But what makes UNest different you ask?
120:27Well, unlike 529 plans, UNest investment accounts are not locked for college only expenses. UNest accounts are professionally managed. No D No DIY
120:36investing. Do it yourself guys. Friends and family can go in and gift into the accounts for your kids whether it's for
120:42birthdays, holidays, or just because they love of kids because they're awesome. There's no paperwork hassle, so give your kid a head start by setting up
120:50a UNest investment account for anything they may need on iOS, Android, or at unest.co.
121:02>> And finally guys, we had the Rams take down the Raiders 35 to 21. It was like 28 to 3, you know, at the end of or I
121:08should say the beginning of the third quarter. So, it was a situation where you know, a little bit of a garbage time
121:13I guess catch up by the Raiders, but hey, either way Rams covered us three and a half point favorites. Over did get
121:17there eventually at 49 and a half. Three passing touchdowns from Matthew Stafford. Surely he threw them to Tyler Higbee and Colby Parkinson, right? Cuz
121:24we all started them. Not so fast my friend. Two to Mr. Davis Allen. Also got Puka one where we just saw again some
121:31vintage Puka becoming so freaking good with the football in his hands as soon as he manages to catch the thing in the
121:35first place. So, Puka didn't look any worse for the wear really the entire game. Had a big truck stick early inside
121:41the five yard line. Was just again doing Puka things. So, he caught eight passes for 68 yards and a touchdown. And just
121:46the way they use him man he's just like an extension of the run game. So hard for this dude to ever meaningfully bust
121:51in the game because of the easy quick ways they're able to just get the football in his hands. So, good stuff
121:56there from Kuka, but what did we see Dwayne with no Davante Adams and with the tight end room that obviously was
122:02prioritizing Davis Allen a little bit more than usual. And we also had Colby Parkinson seemingly every time he did anything hobbling off the field shortly
122:09thereafter.
122:11>> Yeah, we saw complete confusion. It was Puka Nacua and then a rotation of a bunch of dudes. Tutu Atwell was second on the
122:19team in route share and at 67% he gave you zero fantasy points. So, that was fantastic. Obviously you guys didn't have Atwell in your lineup. Kanon
122:27Mouffawad was the really the big name people have been talking about. He had a 60% route share, 7% target share. Tyler
122:33Higbee This this is the one that just is like insane to me. Number one, the Rams ran 13 personnel today Ian.
122:42It it like on 50% of their plays, they had three tight ends on the field. And somehow, Tyler Higbee was still at a 57% route
122:50share. This man has been at 80% or higher in three of the last four games.
122:54And now we get in a game without Davante Adams, and we have, to your point, Colby Parkinson in and out of the lineup
123:00because, what did they do? They made a larger role for Davis Allen. Once again proving we can never, ever predict Mr.
123:07Sean McVay, other than what we're going to see with Puka Nacua. Uh, and you did call it. Uh, the two touchdown
123:12receptions, three red zone targets, plus an end zone target today, uh, to Davis Allen. So, really this three-way committee, we'll see what
123:20happens with Terrance Ferguson, but the early word is that he might not be ready to come back, uh, in week eight when
123:25he's coming off IR. Sounds like it might be a couple weeks longer than that.
123:30So, we'll just kind of have to wait and see, man. Like the the Higbee thing was kind of the rug pull to me, cuz I was
123:34like, "Hey, even with Davante Adams, this guy's out here." And we had already had two games where we had Colby Parkinson back, right? From injury. And
123:41so, he felt like he was the guy we could lean into. No, just kidding. 3.4 fantasy points for Tyler Higbee, uh, in your fantasy lineup today. Not
123:50good.
123:52>> Max Cleared, their talented second round pass catcher out of Ohio State, or did even bigger things at Purdue? Yeah, not
123:57even active out there. So, man, I was thinking Higbee was someone we could be feeling good about, Dwayne.
124:05We've been able to do that the last three or four weeks. I mean, it just goes back to last year now, where last
124:10season, if you looked at every team's tight end fantasy points, it was the Cardinals number one thanks to Trey McBride. And the Rams were literally
124:17number two, but I think Colby Parkinson finished like tight end 18 or something despite that. So, it's just it's so messed up, man. I Look, they're
124:24facing the Chargers next week. There's going to be production, but I feel less confident than ever about projecting it.
124:29Now, anything beyond Puka and these running backs, to be fair.
124:33>> Yeah, and I think we were pretty conservative about it, but it was just like three out of the last four games
124:37seeing Higbee in such a a large role, at least as far as routes go, and knowing that we still didn't have Ferguson back.
124:44Um so, yeah, I'm with you. Like, you just all of these guys, it's like to your point, the production's going to be
124:50there. Will it be one of them like Davis Allen going off and making it worth it for you today, or will it just be spread
124:55around across all three of them? It's really hard to say. Um so, Puka Nacua, like, he's the guy that you're playing
125:02from this offense right now uh in the passing game. And then, you know, the two running backs, Blake Corum and Kyren
125:08Williams both did good things today.
125:11>> Yes, they did. Kyren 99 yards on the ground and 22 through the air. Did lose a fumble, but also scored a touchdown.
125:16So, certainly more good than bad.
125:19Excuse me. Also didn't see him exactly get punished for again some of those postgame comments that, you know, he wanted the ball more. Frustration after
125:26all.
125:26We've all been there. Exactly. Yeah, he had the fumble out there. So, Blake Corum 93 on the ground, also eight receiving. One touchdown. Also had two
125:34wiped out by penalty.
125:35Again though, guys, don't be completely crying about the whole directly set up the first touchdown, then a facemask penalty effectively served as a hold on
125:43the second touchdown got called back.
125:45But, Corum's out there looking good, and I will say, Dwayne, I think the important thing here is because they're facing the Chargers next week, let's
125:51face it, the Rams are going to be touchdown plus favorites in that one.
125:54And we are expecting to play with a positive game script. These are the games where we can be expecting Blake Corum to get going. Unfortunately, it
126:01takes a little bit away from Kyren's ceiling, but to unlock the top five Kyren highs that we saw briefly earlier this year, we
126:08need the Rams to be in comeback mode.
126:10Something that we're probably not going to get against the Chargers, but that's the sort of game where, yeah, we can feel better about playing Blake.
126:15>> Yeah, comeback mode or complete shootouts. That's really where Kyren, you know, has been a plus. Now, today he still gave you 18.1 fantasy points.
126:23Yeah. He had 16 carries. Not as involved in the receiving game. That was the other weird thing today is you have
126:28Davante Adams out in a complete, you know, mixed bag of all these receivers.
126:32And even we didn't see the targets really go to the running backs in this game and that might have been something
126:36specifically that the Raiders were trying to do with their game plan. You know, I haven't taken a look at that yet. Uh but to your to your to your
126:42point, like this game was very closely split. 53% of the snaps to Kyren versus 43% for Quorum. And then in the rushing
126:49department, 49% of the carries to Quorum and 46% to Kyren Williams. Now, Kyren Williams, uh they split the two guys split the carries inside the five, they
126:59split the snaps inside the five. It was still Kyren getting the receiving more of the passing down work with a 53%
127:05route share versus a 20% for Blake Quorum. But neither of them really got that involved from a target share standpoint today. But again, you got
127:1217.1 18.1 from Kyren. So, you're feeling good about it.
127:18>> On the other sideline, Raiders couldn't really run the ball. Akers with 15 yards, Mike Washington a little bit better six for 27, but just 48 rushing
127:26yards as a team. What they got going was mostly just receiving volume playing in complete comeback mode throughout the second half. So, 295 and two touchdowns
127:33for Kirk Cousins. Again, wouldn't exactly say the impressive variety because so much of it came with the Rams obviously, you know, giving up
127:40underneath plays and stuff like that.
127:41But did find Trey Tucker who don't look now guys is basically Justin Jefferson in fantasy football this year. I don't get it either, but the fantasy points
127:49all count the same. He certainly deserves to be treated as an upside wide receiver three at worst at this point, particularly next week in a decent
127:55enough match up there against the New York Jets.
127:58The backfield though, Dwayne, has been the big topic of discussion obviously recently. At least for one day, man, Akers got there. Now, he got there
128:04thanks to the receiving. Caught eight passes for 61 yards and a very nicely schemed touchdown that got him down field on a little wheel route out of the
128:11backfield. So, good stuff there from Akers. Did Am I looking at this performance and racing to rank him inside the top 10 next week? No.
128:19>> No, I mean 53% of the rushing attempts today and 40% for Mike Washington. This is the role we've seen now for 3 weeks.
128:27Um so, Gentry catches the touchdown pass today and he's going to get his targets, guys. Like and that's the thing we've
128:32we've talked about with Gentry. It's like he's still a good player. You're still going to be happy to play him in your
128:36fantasy lineup. We're just it's time to acknowledge that he's not the generational prospect that we thought.
128:42Like that's all we're saying. Like when you watch him and you watch Bijan Robinson and Jahmyr Gibbs, you can clearly see they're not the same thing.
128:49That's all That's all it is. Like so he's more like a prime RaShaad White and people take that as a big slap in the
128:54face. Guys, but a couple of few years ago in 2023, you were happy to have RaShaad White on your fantasy team. Like
129:00he was a guy giving you consistent production, you know, week in and week out because of how good he was as a
129:04receiver and that's just where we are right now with Gentry. 1.9 yards per carry again today.
129:10And Mike Washington had 4.5.
129:13So, I mean, I don't know how many more weeks we have to see this to just say that like, okay, man, like
129:19Gentry look kind of looks like a plodder on the ground. I don't know everything.
129:22Obviously, he's got some injuries. He's got some offensive line problems, but Mike Washington's doing better on his opportunities than Gentry is as a as a
129:29rusher. And so I think the Raiders see that and they're buying into that to some extent. I mean, the data just tells us that over the
129:38last over the last 3 weeks. Things could change. Like, you know, it it does all the time. We just thought we could
129:43believe in Tyler Higbee and then we couldn't. Maybe next week we get a 70% rush share for Gentry, but I think you
129:48just have to factor it in, man. Like I moved him down to mid-range running back two in the rest of season projections
129:53last week. Giving him his targets, but brought his efficiency way down and he's going to have to show that he can
129:59be better than this to bring that efficiency back up.
130:02>> And that's the biggest problem. Like I, you know, and like different people have different thoughts about how much the injuries are impacting everything. The
130:09problem is, regardless of what you think about that, I don't think we can realistically think they're going to be changing in a meaningfully good way
130:15anytime soon. And guess what? If they don't matter, then all right, then what we're seeing is just the the truth anyway. So, O-line's obviously not
130:22helping. Kirk Cousins is increasingly, I think, showing his age a little bit just being such a statue in the pocket out
130:28there. Getting there eventually in these games, but, you know, could be a matter of, I think, sooner rather than later that we probably get Fernando Mendoza
130:35back out there under center for the first time. So, not saying that's necessarily going to help things though, Dwayne, cuz honestly, once you get Mendoza out
130:41there, that's probably going to shrink the running back volume just understandably seeing Mendoza.
130:45>> per game for this offense, for sure.
130:48>> That too. Like I'm Look, I like Fernando Mendoza. He's I think he he's has a chance to end up being a really good
130:53player, but I mean, he's going to be a rookie.
130:55I promise you, that first game that Fernando Mendoza is a starter, like the team total you guys are going to see for
131:00the Raiders, you're not going to like it.
131:02You're not You're not. You're just not going to like it, you know? So, now, maybe he can buck the odds on that and
131:07he comes out and he plays great, you know? It's certainly possible, but if you run out If you run that simulation 10,000 times, more than
131:15likely, you know, we're going to have less points from the Raiders, right?
131:18Versus what you're getting with Cousins right now.
131:21>> Otherwise, again, just really tough match-up. I think there was only three players that had over 50 receiving yards against this Rams secondary this year
131:29and obviously, McDuffie's been banged up. I think even Watson or one of their other cornerbacks was like, going back to the locker room dealing with
131:35something and that was when Tucker actually ripped off his big play, but even that another game, man, back-to-back weeks and I hope that we're
131:41not saying this, you know, time and time again Sunday after Sunday game, but a disappointing Brock Bowers performance and you still look up at the end of the
131:48day and you got, you know, 13.3 PPR points. So, appreciate that's your floor, Brock, but you know, let's get that our ceiling game out there soon if
131:56you don't mind. I do think that could very much be on the way here against the Jets next week.
132:00>> Yeah, and the Rams are one of the best defenses. They were the best defense heading into last week against tight
132:05ends. Now, you didn't have Nate Landman.
132:07Um, you know, so you thought maybe you know, if he's part, you know, of that cover scheme that's helping, maybe that
132:12would help Brock, but I think the big thing for Bowers right now is teams have just decided that they're going to
132:17center their game plan around taking him away. So, it really becomes up to Clint Kubiak, who I think we think is a good
132:23schemer, Ian, of figuring out the ways that you still unlock Brock Bowers, right? What are the things you can do based on the coverages
132:30you know that you're going to see from this really good defense and all the attention they're going to give to Bowers. And I think they will eventually
132:36get it straightened out. Um but he's just going to get a lot of attention, man. Like he is the absolute key to
132:42beating the Raiders. You cannot let Brock Bowers beat you.
132:45>> Ridiculous contested catch on like a fourth and 10 later in the game. It's like, "Oh, yeah, he can do that as
132:50well." So, good reminder there. But, yeah, you know, two straight games where a little bit more down. Trey McBride continuing to close that gap a little
132:57bit. You want to rank Trey number one, Brock number two, be my guest. But, yeah, you know, those are all the top
133:02two either way. But, Dwayne, think that about does it for us, my friend. 11 up, 11 down. We are seven weeks through the
133:09season. That will not stop you from continuing to grind, grind, grind and get the people what they want, the utilization report, which everyone can
133:16find at fantasylife.com.
133:17>> Yep, fantasylife.com. I will have that out tomorrow sometime in the afternoon.
133:22We usually go ahead and have a release where you get all the top takeaways, the waiver wire stuff, and then I just kind
133:26of keep filling out all the utilization bites and other notes like as we go on.
133:30So, yep, that will be out tomorrow. How about you, Mr. Hardegree? When does the Sheesh Report drop?
133:36>> Monday afternoon as well. And then we'll be continuing to going through the ranks and the tiers for everyone and anyone
133:41who just, you know, either wants to learn a thing or two or blame someone if things do go south for your fantasy
133:46league. I am here for you either way with that. But, we appreciate you guys being here for us. If you like the show,
133:51please like the show and that subscribe button always does help us out as well.
133:54So, for Dwayne, for producer Mick, I'm Ian. Thanks again for tuning in. Until next time, take care, everybody.
