A.J. Brown

PositiveProjection21:06

Ranked WR21 as a bounceback candidate despite recent struggles and high ankle sprain. Matchup against the worst defense in the league in EPA allowed for dropback, combined with Drake May playing at MVP-candidate level, creates what Ian Hartitz calls 'the bounceback spot.' Contextualizes recent drops as good coverage rather than drops, and leans on Brown's seven-year track record of elite production despite rough recent stretch.

Insight page

Amon-Ra St. Brown

PositiveMatchup3:42

Ian Hartitz ranks Amon-Ra St. Brown as WR7 in Week 8 against the Vikings, despite facing a tough matchup against Brian Flores' dominant defense. St. Brown has consistently produced in six prior matchups against the Vikings since Flores arrived, posting lines of 106 yards/1 TD, 144 yards/1 TD, 112 yards/1 TD, 6 catches/77 yards, 9 catches/97 yards, and 8 catches/68 yards. Hartitz notes that Jared Goff's offense has not been significantly impacted by Flores' elevated blitzing and pressure scheme in past meetings, suggesting St. Brown should continue to produce despite the defensive challenge.

Insight page

Antonio Williams

PositiveProjection35:44

Ian Hartitz ranks Antonio Williams as WR34 and highlights a volume spike with Terry McLaurin out. Williams needed only 26 snaps to catch four passes for 64 yards and a touchdown in Week 1 against Philadelphia, which has allowed the most defensive fantasy points to slot receivers. With Jaden Daniels' run game non-existent and Jakori Crosky on IR, Hartitz expects heavy pass volume and a favorable matchup for the rookie. Hartitz is excited to see what Antonio Williams can do, suggesting emerging opportunity and upside.

Insight page

Brian Thomas Jr.

NegativeRole26:17

Ian Hartitz suggests Brian Thomas Jr.'s job security is in question, implying role displacement or diminished opportunity in the Jacksonville offense.

Insight page

Bryce Lance

NegativeRole42:25

Bryce Lance has had a tough time as a rookie from North Dakota State. He was always viewed as a raw prospect and is only getting opportunities due to injuries elsewhere on the depth chart.

Insight page

Caleb Douglas

NegativeMatchup12:52

Dolphins WR Caleb Douglas is likely to see the most snaps against Patriots CB Christian Gonzalez, who typically travels with the number one outside wide receiver. Douglas has emerged as Miami's clear number one receiver this season, setting up a tough shadow matchup against one of the league's top cornerbacks.

Insight page

Carnell Tate

NegativeMatchup11:34

Titans WR facing Bengals CB DJ Turner, described as one of the more underrated defenders in the league. Turner has rarely played slot this season, and Tate has been lined up in the slot for 28% of his routes (including a nice slot fade late last week), which should provide some relief from the tough matchup. Tate has been strong at the catch point all season with consistent volume.

Insight page
NegativeMatchup11:44

Carrell Tate faces Bengals CB DJ Turner, described by Ian Hartitz as one of the more underrated defenders in the league. Turner has rarely played in the slot this season, but Tate has been lined up in the slot for 28% of his routes (including a nice slot fade late last week), which should provide some relief from the tough matchup. However, Hartitz expresses worry about this shadow coverage, suggesting a downgrade may be warranted despite the slot opportunity.

Insight page
PositiveProjection28:06

Ian Hartitz ranks Carnell Tate as WR 27 for Week 8, acknowledging a tough shadow matchup against DJ Turner but arguing Tate's elite contested catch ability may overcome it. Tate has caught 8 of 9 contested targets (89% rate), second only to Puka Nacua this season. At Ohio State, he caught 12 of 14 contested targets, the highest single-season mark for any Power Five WR since 2019 except Justin Jefferson and Jackson Smith-Njigba. Cam Ward has peppered Tate with targets despite subpar QB play. Hartitz gives Tate upside WR3 treatment, citing volume, talent, and elite contested catch ability despite the tough matchup and mediocre QB. Tate is highlighted as one of the most impressive rookie wide receivers this season, having made the most out of his opportunities.

Insight page

CeeDee Lamb

PositiveProjection2:10

Ian Hartitz ranks CeeDee Lamb as WR5 in Week 8 against the Cardinals. Lamb leads the NFL with 81 targets and ranks second in receiving yards behind only Jackson Smith-Njigba, providing elite volume and production.

Insight page

Christian Watson

PositiveMatchup4:59

Ranked WR9 for Week 8 against Panthers. Despite quieter recent weeks, Watson is averaging WR6 in PPR points per game this season. Panthers run very zone-heavy defense and Watson has fifth-most yards per hour run against zone coverage specifically. Watson is one of only three players (with Golden and Boston) with 10+ targets on passes 25+ yards downfield, positioning him for Thursday night upside.

Insight page

D.J. Moore

NegativeProjection14:34

WR15 ranked if healthy; has been limited by injury most of the season but showed rejuvenation in Week 1 against Texans with deep ball opportunities left on the table. Paired with QB Josh Allen and facing Ravens defense ranked sixth-worst in PPR points per game allowed to opposing wide receivers. Hartitz projects a true boom week with DJ Moore as an outside candidate for WR1 overall, noting Moore is checking every single box. Joe Brady indicated in Wednesday press conference that Moore should be back in full fold, though shoulder injury concern remains a minor factor preventing higher ranking.

Insight page

DK Metcalf

NegativeMatchup9:18

Ranked WR25 for Week 8 against Browns. Had 115 yards against this Browns defense in Week 4 when not shadowed by Denzel Ward. Ward has not been shadowing anyone this season and did not shadow Metcalf in their first matchup, reducing coverage concern. Since two early-season duds outside the top 50, Metcalf has finished as WR 35, 16, 60, 10, and 37—finishes Ian Hartitz can live with far more often than not.

Insight page

Drake London

PositiveProjection4:16

Ian Hartitz ranks Drake London as WR8 in Week 8 against the Buccaneers. London finally scored a touchdown last week and is currently averaging 16 PPR points per game despite two games under Cooper Rush. Tampa Bay's defense ranks number two in EPA allowed per drop back (only behind the Vikings), but London's volume and the quarterback upgrade from Rush support continued top-10 WR production.

Insight page

Garrett Wilson

PositiveProjection15:39

Ranked WR16 this week vs Las Vegas Raiders with a boom-week projection backed by elite separator status (top-three per ESPN), recent production (100+ yards and TD in two of last three weeks including vs Lions), and Raiders allowing the most points in the NFL over the last five weeks. Despite two rough recent games and Omar Cooper's emergence, Hartitz emphasizes Wilson's $130 million contract and elite talent justify continued volume; Jets-Raiders projects as a sneaky shootout similar to Cowboys-Cardinals. Hartitz expresses strong confidence: 'I will buy a Jets Santana Moss jersey if Garrett Wilson does not have at least 100 yards and a touchdown.'

Insight page

Ja'Marr Chase

PositiveProjection7:40

Averaging career-high marks pretty much everywhere with 95 receiving yards per game. Ian Hartitz indicates both Bengals WRs (Chase and Higgins) will perform well this week and expects them to remain top-tier options as the season progresses.

Insight page

Jameson Williams

PositiveProjection19:00

Ranked WR20 vs Vikings. Despite volatile start (WR 46, 72, 47 in first three weeks), has posted 19th, 14th, and most recently 4th most PPR points among all WRs in recent weeks. Ian Hartitz urges trust in the talent despite the scary defense matchup, arguing the Vikings' high blitz rate and defensive scheme can be handled by elite offenses; boom-or-bust profile but recommended to ride the upside.

Insight page

Jaylen Waddle

NegativeInjury37:30

Ian Hartitz ranks Jaylen Waddle as WR36 with significant downside risk due to a chest injury that has him listed as questionable. Hartitz notes Waddle would rank in the WR4 range if healthy but is dealing with injury uncertainty. The Chiefs have held opposing wide receivers to minimal production (Waddle had one catch for two yards in Week 1), and Hartitz expects similar defensive performance on Sunday.

Insight page

Justin Jefferson

NegativeProjection2:25

Ian Hartitz ranks Justin Jefferson as WR6 in Week 8 against the Lions, but expresses concern about his fantasy production this season. Despite being a great real-life receiver, Jefferson is averaging only 0.1 more PPR points than Trey Tucker this season, raising concerns given his WR29 finish last year. Hartitz attributes the issue not to Jefferson's talent but to the Vikings' quarterback room and Brian Flores' dominant defense, which has reduced Minnesota's need to keep their foot on the gas. However, Jefferson has an NFL-best 141.3 pass rating when targeted, suggesting good things happen when he gets the ball. Hartitz expects a boom game in this matchup against the Lions, with potential for tough ranking conversations if he underperforms.

Insight page

Keenan Allen

NegativeProjection34:28

Ian Hartitz ranks Keenan Allen as WR32 against the Texans despite the Colts' likely blowout loss. Hartitz projects Allen could post eight catches for 60 yards even in a 24-point loss, noting Travis Hunter is not shadowing (only done so against Nico Collins this year), reducing coverage concern. Josh Dobbs' trade request uncertainty doesn't materially change the ranking since Dobbs hasn't stopped Allen's production anyway.

Insight page

Keon Coleman

PositiveValue38:23

Ian Hartitz highlights Keon Coleman as a streamer recommendation at 28% roster percentage and ranks him WR31 against the Ravens. The 23-year-old leads the NFL in EPA per target and is earning respect for his contested-catch ability and physical profile (6'3", 215 lbs). Hartitz projects Coleman as a boomer WR3 with upside to WR2/3 borderline status, especially if DJ Moore's shoulder injury limits his availability. Even accounting for Josh Allen's QB effect, Hartitz argues Coleman's target volume from Allen makes him a worthwhile add. Coleman boomed in this matchup last year in week one.

Insight page

Ladd McConkey

NegativeProjection28:35

Ian Hartitz ranks Ladd McConkey as WR 28, expressing skepticism that this ranking feels too high given his injury status. McConkey has been banged up and Hartitz would downgrade him if Trent McDuffie is active for the Chargers-Rams matchup. However, Hartitz acknowledges that when McConkey has been on the field, he appears to be the focal point of Mike McDaniel's offense—the guy McDaniel built the entire offense around. Hartitz suggests McConkey may be healthier coming off the bye and that Justin Herbert, despite being one of the worst QBs in the league this year, could still provide better support than earlier in the season.

Insight page
PositiveRole30:44

Ian Hartitz suggests Lad McConkey appears to be the centerpiece of Mike McDaniel's offensive scheme based on limited field time. McConkey's healthier status coming off the bye week could unlock more consistent production, especially with Justin Herbert potentially improving his decision-making and targeting McConkey more frequently.

Insight page

Luther Burden

PositiveProjection17:32

Ranked WR19 vs Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football. Elite YAC producer with only Jackson Smith, Puka Nakua, and Zay Flowers averaging more yards per route run; leads all NFL wide receivers in tackles avoided after the catch this year. Despite Seahawks' elite slot receiver defense (best in NFL), Burden thrives against zone coverage (top-12 marks in yards and targets per route vs zone), which is Seattle's primary defensive scheme. Matchup is good-on-good or great-on-great with Ben Johnson vs Mike McDonald; ranked inside top 20 with no plans to move him.

Insight page

Malik Washington

PositiveMatchup13:13

Dolphins slot WR Malik Washington is positioned to benefit from Caleb Douglas drawing shadow coverage from Patriots CB Christian Gonzalez, creating a favorable matchup opportunity in the slot for Washington.

Insight page

Matthew Golden

PositiveProjection13:24

WR13 ranked receiver with 500+ receiving yards despite leading the league in drops and yards drawn from defensive pass interference penalties; has over 200 more unrealized yards than the next closest WR, indicating significant untapped upside. Hartitz notes Golden has been awesome this year and is one of only 11 receivers with 500+ receiving yards despite leaving more meat on the bone than literally any other pass catcher in football. Facing Panthers defense that has been vulnerable to both run and pass this season.

Insight page

Mecole Hardman

PositiveProjection26:47

Ian Hartitz ranks Mecole Hardman as WR 26 for Week 8 against the Falcons and upgrades him to upside WR3 treatment, expecting 8–10 targets. Hartitz attributes prior struggles to bad quarterback play with Jaylen Daniels and a concussion-toe injury combo, but sees potential improvement with Baker Mayfield's improved arm talent and accuracy. However, Hartitz cites concerning NextGen Stats metrics: second-worst catch rate overexpected mark and a passer rating when targeted under 60 (one of only four WRs in that range), suggesting execution problems beyond volume. Hardman had a strong start (first 4–5 games) but has underperformed over the last 16 games; he had 25 targets in the two games before injury.

Insight page

Michael Wilson

PositiveMatchup5:42

Ranked WR10 for Week 8 against Cowboys. Despite rough last three weeks, Cowboys defense has been historically poor in EPA per play allowed—every other offense against Dallas matches the Bills' league-leading EPA per play. Joey Porter Jr. has not shadowed individual receivers in his first two games, suggesting Wilson should be freed from shadow coverage. Wilson is 0 for 8 on end zone targets this year but expected to find one soon; should return to WR2 upside with volume on the table.

Insight page

Omar Cooper Jr.

PositiveProjection40:02

Ian Hartitz ranks Omar Cooper as WR24 against the Raiders. Cooper leads the NFL in yards per route run by a significant margin; only Jack Smith, Zay Flowers, Mike Evans, and Drake London are remotely close. Among rookie receivers with 50+ route runs, Cooper is the clear standout, ranking first in yards and targets per route run and would rank first overall even if veterans were included. He's displaying both the YAC and downfield ability that made him a first-round pick at Indiana. The Seahawks have a fully healthy offense facing a Raiders defense that has allowed the most points in the NFL since Week 3, profiling as a potential shootout.

Insight page

Parker Washington

PositiveMatchup7:55

Ranked WR12 for Week 8 against Colts. WR17 on season but has 18 additional targets over next-closest Jacksonville WR (Jakobi Meyers). Colts defense loves to run man coverage which plays into Washington's hands given his team-best metrics in that coverage type. Washington has team-best marks in targets per route run and yards per route run (ranked 15th and 21st among 129 qualified WRs). Sauce Gardner (Colts CB) is unlikely to shadow him even if healthy, as Gardner lines up primarily on the right side and has minimal slot coverage.

Insight page

Puka Nacua

PositiveProjection0:40

Ian Hartitz ranks Puka Nakua as WR2 on the season. Nakua leads all wide receivers with a 90% contested catch rate and leads all wide receivers in yards after contact, demonstrating elite contested catch ability and playmaking with the football in his hands.

Insight page

Stefon Diggs

PositiveMatchup10:09

Ranked WR22 against Eagles on Sunday Night Football. Averaging WR26 in PPR points per game this season but hasn't finished worse than WR25 since Obama was in office, and that streak is expected to continue. Ian Hartitz does not expect Quinon Mitchell to shadow Diggs; while Mitchell has shadowed receivers in past years (like Terry McLaurin), he has not been shadowing much this season. Eagles defense has been vulnerable to slot receivers and has deteriorated significantly after the Cowboys game, now struggling against both the run and pass.

Insight page

Tee Higgins

PositiveProjection7:33

Ranked WR11 for Week 8 against Titans. Averaging career-high marks pretty much everywhere with 95 receiving yards per game. Bengals have two WR1s in rankings (Higgins and Jamar Chase) and both should be fine, with expectation to maintain WR1 status as season progresses.

Insight page

Tre Tucker

PositiveProjection23:20

Ranked WR23 vs Jets; just entered Ian Hartitz's top 24 rankings. Averaging 14.3 PPR points per game, nearly matching Justin Jefferson's 14.4 PPR average, with back-to-back boom weeks. Recent boom games coincide with defenses focusing on Brock Bowers, though he had three straight sub-45-yard games prior. Kurt Cousins leading NFL in passing touchdowns supports Tucker's upside against a Jets secondary that Hartitz doesn't fear in a matchup that could see significant scoring.

Insight page

Zay Flowers

NegativeProjection0:53

Ian Hartitz ranks Zay Flowers as WR3 in Week 8 against Buffalo, assuming Lamar Jackson returns. Even with Lamar Jackson missing the last three weeks, Flowers remains one of only five receivers averaging 20+ PPR points per game. With Jackson's return, Hartitz would keep Flowers in his top 10, though potentially closer to WR10 than his current WR1 tier. Flowers faces a favorable matchup against a Bills defense that has been pretty bad overall. Against Bills CB Christian Benford in a potential shadow matchup, Hartitz expresses strong confidence that Flowers can win in a major way despite the coverage concern.

0:00is a great day to break down my week eight fantasy football wide receiver rankings going wide receiver one to wide receiver 60 hopefully helping you a
0:07scholar make the right start decisions in your lineup. I will also be going through the expected shadow matchups of the week between again some high-profile
0:14quarterbacks and wide receivers or maybe situations where we don't even have to worry about that. Best overall game environments and six dudes who
0:20surprisingly guys are still available in 70% or more of Yahoo leagues and quite frankly I find that shocking. But we'll get to all those things a little bit
0:28later. I appreciate you tuning in. And with that, let's get into it with Mr.
0:31Wide receiver one Jackson Smith Nigba going up against the Bears on Monday Night Football. Currently averaging an NFL record 28 PPR points per game for a
0:40wide receiver. So yeah, JSN pretty freaking good at football. Wide receiver 2, I got Puka Nakua. He is the wide receiver too on the season after all.
0:48And just continues to really have one of the best blends of contested catch ability. He is number one this year with
0:53that 90% contested catch rate and also just making things happen with the football in his hands. He leads all wide receivers in yards after contact uh in
1:01terms of his receiving yards total. So Puka Nakua continuing to look very much like one of the best wide receivers on
1:06planet Earth. You guys expected that though, right? How about wide receiver three Z Flowers? Assuming we get Lamar Jackson back in the picture. Okay, I
1:15wouldn't drop Flowers out of this tier.
1:17He would still be in my top 10, but probably closer to 10 if not, you know, otherwise than one uh like we have him
1:22right now. So yeah, guys, I mean, even with Lamar Jackson missing the last three weeks, Zay is still one of only
1:28five receivers averaging 20 plus PPR points per game, the start stopping ability with this dude is just absolutely ridiculous. And now we have a
1:34blowup spot against the Buffalo Bills, sign me up for it. All right, so Bills defense has been pretty bad overall. I
1:40do think, you know, given the fact they've had the scheme change, they'll get a little bit better as the year goes
1:45on. But someone like Zay Flowers just with the talent, with the QB, with the game script environment going on, I just
1:51I'm not too worried about any individual matchup. Even if we do see Christian Benford wound up shadowing Z Flowers, he hasn't been a quarterback won't really
1:58go in the slot. And honestly, hasn't been playing his best football this year to begin with. He's already allowed four receiving touchdowns. That's tied for
2:04the second most among all corners. Wide receiver four. I got Tamar Chase guys career low 16.2 2 PPR points per game
2:12this year, which is kind of crazy that that is still a really high number, but it is his career low. I think he'll be
2:16just fine. Why not go ahead and get him back on track against a Titan secondary that just gave up to Shawn Watson's
2:22first 300 yard passing performance with the Browns. Wide receiver five, I got CD Lamb going up against the Cardinals, guys. NFL high 81 targets, second most
2:29receiving yards behind only JSN. Let's go Sidi. Wide receiver six, Justin Jefferson against the Lions. If we don't get a true boom in this spot, we're
2:37going have to start asking some questions. And I don't think it's really anything on Jedha. We all understand how great of a real life receiver is. And he
2:44hasn't been horrible in fantasy this year, but he's averaging 0.1 more PPR points than Trey Tucker at the end of the day. And as the sample size
2:51continues to grow, you start looking at last year's wide receiver 29 finish and it's like, okay, is this what we're dealing with now? So again, I don't
2:59think it's so much Justin Jefferson being bad all of a sudden. I think it's a quarterback room that's still not helping his cause. And in this year's
3:06case, it's a Brian Floresled defense that is so dominant that we just haven't even seen the Vikings really need to keep their foot on the gas here. But in
3:13this matchup, all right, we're talking about Jefferson who, to his credit, like he has an NFL best 141.3 pass rating when targeted. So again, good things
3:22happen when Minnesota throws this dude the ball. And now we got a great matchup against the Lions. And we got a
3:28potential Lions offense that maybe, just maybe, can score enough on Minnesota to coach them into something close to a back and forth shootout. Look, I think
3:37Jefferson is going to have a huge game here and remind everyone just how great he can be in fantasy and real life. If
3:42he doesn't though, could be some tough conversations and some tough rankings coming Jefferson's way as soon as week nine. Wide receiver seven. I got our one
3:50true sun god on Monro St. Brown going up against the Vikings. Tough matchup as you guys know. we know with everything
3:55going on with every uh line facing off against the Vikings. I will say this is hardly the first time we've seen Jared
4:01Gooff company go up against Brian Flores who yeah has taken his blitzing and his pressure to another level this year but
4:06he's always kind of been doing that sort of thing. Hasn't really impacted our one true sun god guys in six matchups with
4:13the Vikings now since they've had Brian Flores there. We've seen a Monro St.
4:16Brown go for 106 in a touchdown, 144 in a tub, 112 in a TUD most recently 6 for 77, 9 for 97 and 8 for 68. So racking up
4:25all the PPR points. Don't expect things to be going too south for Aman right here on Sunday. Wide receiver eight. I
4:30got Drake London going against the Buccaneers. Finally scored a touchdown last week. Good to see there. And he's sitting pretty as the wide receiver. 16
4:37in PPR points per game despite having those two dreaded experiences with Cooper Rush under center. So I do worry a little bit about this Tampa Bay
4:45defense. Don't look now. They're actually number two in EPA allowed per drop back only behind those Minnesota Vikings. But end of the day, Drake
4:52London, great player with his quarterback playing well and continuing to feed him volume as a top 10 wide receiver in my book. Wide receiver nine,
4:59I got Christian Watson going against the Panthers been a little bit more quiet the last couple of weeks, but guys, we're still talking about the wide
5:05receiver six in PPR points per game this year. Very zoneheavy Panthers defense.
5:09And honestly, when you do look at the numbers, Watson has absolutely eviscerated zone this year. Fifth most yards per hour run against that cover
5:16specifically. So yeah, could see some uh Thursday night fireworks. And just look, Golden, Christian Watson, and who's the third? Denzel Boston. All right, those
5:24are the only three players with 10 plus targets on passes done 25 plus yards downfield. It's going to be a bit boomer
5:30busty, but it's an offense that I don't want to say inexplicably, but unlike every other offense in the league, actually gives their downfield threats
5:38lots of downfield opportunities. So better days should be ahead for both.
5:42Wide receiver 10. I'm going Michael Wilson against the Cowboys, guys. I know it's been a rough last three weeks, but it is the Cowboys. Okay, had a little
5:50study I did midmon Monday night meltdown before the Cowboys pulled away at the end where I was just looking at the EPA
5:56per play allowed by this Cowboys defense. And going back the beginning of last season, you look at it and the Buffalo Bills have just been awesome.
6:04They've been number one offense in the league in EPA per play. If you take though every other offense against the Cowboys, they would actually be pretty
6:11much just as good as what Josh Allen, the Bills do on every single Sunday. So that's how bad this Cowboys group has
6:17been. Now they've gotten some improvements. All right, the Martin Overshone, he's back. Caleb DS, we'd expect him to start playing a little
6:22better football as his rookie season goes on. Quinn Williams, the beast in the trenches. And most notably here, they obviously traded for Joey Porter
6:29Jr. from the Steelers, and he has looked good for the Cowboys so far in two games. That said, in those two games
6:35against the Packers and against the Eagles, we did not see him go out of his way to shadow an individual receiver.
6:40Now, I would say that kind of makes sense against the Packers if they went out there and they game planned it and
6:46they said, "Hey, first of all, it's like your first game with us." And then we kind of think that Matthew Golden and
6:51Christian Watson, they're more 1A, 1B.
6:53We don't need you to shadow either guy.
6:55And then Philly, like, you know, Mai Lemon mostly works in the slot. Not super surprised they didn't have Porter, you know, shadow Darius Cooper out there
7:01or anything like that, but they haven't done it yet. And I do think tentatively Michael Wilson should be freed from that
7:08matchup. And honestly, even if he does get it, should be enough volume on the table for him to still hopefully get
7:14back to putting upside wide receiver 2.
7:16If not this week, wide receiver one numbers 0 for eight though this year, guys, on end zone targets. Jacobe Brassette to Michael Wilson. Dropped one
7:22last week. He's out a couple close contested ones. I do think he finds a way to haul one of those in. Michael
7:27Bolson top 10 wide receiver. I don't know how much longer we're going to have these chances with Jacobe Brassett's at least shortening even more by the week,
7:33but he will be under center this week. I think they get it done against the Cowboys. wide receiver 11. I'm going T.
7:39Higgins against the Titans, guys.
7:40Averaging career-high marks pretty much everywhere. 95 receiving yards per game out Jamar Chasing. Jamar Chase right now. I think they'll both be fine. But
7:48yeah, so far two wide receiver ones in the rankings for the Bengals. Wouldn't be surprised if we keep on keeping on
7:53with that here as the season progresses.
7:55And lastly in this tier, I got wide receiver 12, Parker Washington. Fresh off a buy going up against the Colts.
8:00Wide receiver 17 on a season and he has 18 additional targets. the next closest Jacksonville wide receiver, that being Jacobe Myers. So, looking at again this
8:09Colts defense, they actually love to run man coverage, which could be playing right into Parker's hands. When you look at him this year, he's got team best
8:15marks in targets per out run and yards per out run. Those actually ranked 15th and 21st among 129 qualified wide receivers. So, again, he's eating up man
8:24coverage. Probably isn't going to be even having to deal with all Gardner aka Sauce out there. Even if he is, S has
8:30spent pretty much his entire season lined up as the right quarterback. He's only played as a left quarterback on one snap, only gone to a slot on 13 times.
8:39So, even if we do see Sauce Gardener returning, first of all, I think Parker's good enough to still win that matchup. But hey, the Jacksonville
8:45Jaguars don't even want to deal with it.
8:46They won't have to. Key question here, guys. I'm going to start doing this every week, but I want to break down the
8:51likely shadow matchups that we should be worried about. And then also which high-profile quarterbacks we should not have to worry about because of things
8:57like I just talked about with Amed Gardner versus Parker Washington and that being a situation where we just don't see the number one quarterback
9:04regularly travel with opposing wide receivers. So, big shout out to Fantasy Points. They have an awesome data suite 2.0 that Scott Bear and company have
9:11been grinding away at. And there is a very very cool shadow index tool that basically shows you every single quarterback, wide receiver, whatever
9:18matchup you can dream up and what percentage of routes they are actively tracking them. So as always with these shadow matchups in any matchup, it is a
9:25situation where more of a tiebreaker than a rule of thumb and a big reason to completely, you know, reverse your rankings and everything you think you
9:32know. But hey, we'll take every little edge where we can get it. Matchups I am not expecting shadow coverage in based
9:38on their deployment this year. I do not believe Steelers wide receiver DK Mechaf will be seeing any of Denzel Ward, at
9:44least in terms of that back and forth across the field. Ward has not been shadowing anyone this year. He did not
9:48shadow DK Mechaf in their first matchup this season. Also, as I just mentioned, do not expect Sas Garner to be shadowing
9:54Parker Washington, if he is even active.
9:56And not expecting Cowboys quarterback Joey Porter Jr. to be shadowing Michael Wilson. This would be one where again I'm not quite as 10 out of 10 confident
10:04as I am with Parker and Metaf because of the reality that this would make a little more sense for the Cowboys to go
10:09against what they did in their previous two matchups just based on what the Cardinals have at number one. Also not expecting Eagles quarterback Quinon
10:17Mitchell to be shadowing uh Commanders wide receiver Stefon Diggs. This one is more like Michael Wilson and Joey Porter though where I'm pretty sure we won't
10:25see it but not completely convinced. And the reason for that, we have seen in past years, Quinon Mitchell would be shadowing guys like Terry McLaren
10:32amongst others. Haven't seen him much this year, but it was interesting last week against the Cowboys. Even though Quinan did not specifically travel with
10:40George Pickkins or CD Lamb, he wound up playing 24 snaps, I believe, as the right quarterback. I think he's usually lined up on the right side. So, it was
10:48whatever side he doesn't usually line up on. He played 24 snaps there, and he only had one such snap in the previous
10:53six weeks. So, at a minimum, they started moving around Quinnon last week.
10:56They didn't do it for a specific receiver seemingly because neither CD nor Pickins had a very high route rate against Coin the whole game. But
11:04something to keep an eye on there. Also not expecting either Colts wide receiver to be seeing a bunch of Travis Hunter.
11:09Also not expecting either Chiefs wide receiver to be seeing a bunch of Broncos quarterback Patan if he is healthy enough to return. That said guys, five
11:16potential shadow matchups I do think we could be seeing this weekend and accordingly could in certain cases, you know, warrant a bit of a downgrade.
11:24First of all, mentioned it before, Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers versus Bills quarterback Christian Benford.
11:29Even if it is a shadow, I'm not worried about it. I think Zay can win in a major way. What I am worried about though,
11:34Titans wide receiver Carell Tate going up against ace Bengals quarterback DJ Turner. Probably one of the more underrated defenders in the league guy.
11:40Now, the one thing here when we look at Turner, he has rarely played in the slot this season. And that is a situation
11:46where Carninal Tate, as we saw with that nice slot fade down the stretch of last week, has been lined up in for 28% of
11:52his routes. So, I don't think it's going to be the smoothest game for Carnell Tape, but he's been a freaking beast at
11:56the catch point all season. He's getting the volume and he should be free from this tough matchup for at least around a
12:02quarter of his routes. What I am also pretty worried about and even more so I would say if active, I do think Rams
12:08quarterback Trent McDuffy will be shadowing Lakoni maybe all over the field guys because McDuffy as we saw Malik Neighbors earlier this season is
12:15the rare quarterback willing to actually chase his assignment into the slot there. So obviously Laz had, you know, a whole host of problems this season with
12:22his offense, with his health, with everything in between. Now could also be seeing a lot of Trent McDuffy if he is
12:27healthy enough to return from that groin injury. Also know Buccaneers wide receiver Mecha Ibuka could be seeing a good bit of Falcons quarterback AJ
12:34Terrell. Terrell shadowed Mike Evans in their matchups against the Buccaneers last season. They do have the same defensive coordinator. I would guess
12:41that he's gonna now turn his attention to Mecha Ibuka. not necessarily a quarterback that I'm putting a big downgrade on just because he's gonna be
12:47seeing more of him, but something to note nevertheless. And then finally, I do think it's probably more likely that Dolphins wide receiver, Caleb Douglas,
12:54sees the most at Patriots cornerback, Christian Gonzalez. This is just me trying to put two and two together and saying, "Hey, Gonzo, usually travels
13:00with the number one outside wide receiver." And to the point this year, much to the chagrin of my call outs in
13:05August about Chris Bo being great sleeper, number one in Miami clearly has been Caleb. So hey, could be a nice day
13:11for Malik Washington from the friendly confines of the slot. Tier two guys, wide receiver two should still feel pretty good about and accordingly have
13:18them in fancy lineups of most shapes and sizes, I would imagine. Wide receiver 13, Matthew Golden going the Panthers.
13:24He's been awesome this year. All right, one of only 11 receivers with 500 plus receiving yards despite leaving more meat on the bone than literally any
13:32other pass catcher in football. Leads the league in drops. also leads the league and most yards drawn from defensive pass interference penalties
13:38and has over 200 more unrealized area yards than next closest wide receiver.
13:43So again, it's already been good for Golden. I think it could be even great though this Thursday night against the Panthers defense that whether it's the
13:49run or the pass just hasn't been overly elite against anything this season. Wide receiver 14. I'm going with George Pickkins against the Cardinals, guys. I
13:56know it hasn't been exactly what drafters were hoping for when he took this dude in round three back in August, but man did he have a pretty touchdown
14:03catch on Monday night against the Eagles and he does stand as a wide receiver 25 in PPR points per game this year. We've
14:09seen two top 18 finishes in his last three games. Would not be surprised at all if we get a third here in what again
14:14projects as one of the best game environments on the slate with the Cowboys Cardinals having that 54 and a half point game total and a Cardinals
14:21defense that ranks 31st in EPA all laper drop back this year. wide receiver 15 if healthy. Give me Bill's wide receiver DJ
14:29Moore, guys. Now, this is a situation where we have not seen DJ Moore be very healthy at all this year, other than
14:35basically that week one matchup where he went bonkers against the Houston Texans and even had a bunch more opportunity left on the table just not being able to
14:43come down with a few deep balls from Josh Allen. So, similar to that Cowboys Cardinals matchup, both of these games are at 1 PM ET for whatever reason. Come
14:51on, schedule makers, get it together. We have a quarterback we love and Josh Allen. We have a talent DJ Moore who
14:57looked rejuvenated in the brief time that we saw him again healthy enough to be out there on the outside. And we have
15:02a defense that cannot stop a nose bleed in the second half of that Bengals game last week. So DJ Moore, he's checking
15:08every single box. Ravens have been the sixth worst defense in PPR points per game allowed to opposing wide receivers.
15:14I think there's a very very good chance that we get a true boom from DJ Moore this week. Honestly, a an outside
15:20candidate for being the overall wide receiver. one and I say that you know completely seriously. So the only reason I don't have him ranked higher is just a
15:27little bit of the concern still with that shoulder being reagravated or limiting him out there. But from what we heard from I believe Joe Brady in the
15:33Wednesday press conference, he does sound like someone who expects to have DJ Moore back in the fold and it should be a better viewing experience
15:39accordingly. Wide receiver 16. I got Garrett Wilson going up against that Las Vegas Raiders guys. Jersey bet for this week. I will buy a Jets Santana Moss
15:50jersey if Garrett Wilson does not have at least 100 yards and a touchdown. All right, it's been two rough games for
15:56Garrett Wilson. No doubt about it. And Omar Cooper has been showing out as well. There's been some trade murmurss.
16:01We got Garrett yelling at Gino on the sideline. Let's not forget just how freaking good Garrett Wilson is. All right, fantasy points. ESPN, they both
16:09have this guy as a top three separator.
16:11And that's honestly been the case for the majority of this dude's career. Hey, only have to go back two more weeks
16:16again past what what we've seen and you will actually see 100 plus yards and a touchdown from Garrett. Also blew up
16:22against the Lions. We like Gino Smith.
16:24We actually I mean, you know, relative to most quarterbacks we've been seeing with the Jets. Just because Omar Cooper has done some good things doesn't mean
16:31that now Garrett Wilson is incapable of doing so himself. All right. Kenyan Sadi hasn't been as big of a factor. Mason
16:37Taylor's making plays. I get it. It's a more crowded offense than maybe we were expecting it to be before the season
16:44started in terms of trying to hype up Garrett Wilson. But at the same time, guys, 130 million reasons for the Jets
16:50to continue to try to get some grease on this squeaky wheel and get the best out of Garrett Wilson. It's a Raiders
16:56defense that's allowed the most points in the NFL over the course of the last five weeks. And I think their capability
17:01on the offensive side of the ball really could make Jets Raiders a sneaky shootout in the same vein as Cowboys, Cardinals, and even Bills Ravens.
17:09despite not having the same game total.
17:10So Garrett Wilson go off. If not, I'll be buying a Santana Moss jersey. So, you know, Kyle went white in my opinion.
17:17Wide receiver 17, wide receiver 18. I got Ted McMillan and Jaylen Koker going against the Packers here on Thursday Night Football. Similar to Bryce Young
17:24and Troua Hover, I'm just not going to be giving them a massive downgrade because of one very bad 60 minutes of
17:29football when we saw five weeks previously of them putting together some very, very good football. So, T-Max the wide receiver, 14 in PPR points per
17:37game. Coker's the wide receiver 23. I do give Tedro McMillan the slight edge here because we have seen the Packers actually be quite good against opposing
17:44slot receivers. Only the Seahawks have actually been better in terms of fantasy points per game to that group. That said though, you know, Amra St. Brown J
17:52didn't have too much of a problem last week. You know, wide receiver 19, I got Luther Burton guys going up against the
17:57Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football. So, first of all, Burden absolute stud going back to week one of last season and now we actually have a
18:04pretty large sample size. Only Jackson Smith, [ __ ] Pukanakua, and Zay Flowers are averaging more yards per hour run than Mr. Luther Burton. He leads all
18:11wide receivers in the NFL in terms of tackles avoided after the catch this year. He is a beast. I think we all
18:17agree on that, particularly after seeing that showcase last Thursday night that he managed to put on against the Patriots. Is it a tough matchup?
18:24Absolutely. Okay, you look at the Seahawks and as I just mentioned before with the Panthers matchup, nobody has been better against opposing slot
18:30receivers than Seattle this year. That said, the manner in which Seattle shuts down most slot receivers is by running a ton of zone coverage. Nobody has run
18:39more zone coverage this season, and that just so happens to be where Burden has been thriving. Top 12 marks across the
18:45position in yards and targets per round against zone coverage. It's good on good. You can even argue it's great on great. Ben Johnson trying to scheme up
18:53against Mike McDonald. Get your freaking popcorn ready for this one because I do think we'll see some great defensive plays, but I think we'll see more great
19:00ones from Luther Burton on the other side of the ball. Inside my top 20, don't see him going anywhere time. Go
19:06don't see him going anywhere anytime soon. Similar to just trusting the talent despite the tough matchup, guys.
19:12Give me wide receiver 20 Jameson Williams go up against the Vikings.
19:15Look, he's more boomer busty than most, but at this point, let's just let's just get on the ride, you know, buy the
19:20ticket, take the ride for Jameson Williams already. All right, first three matchups in the season. Wide receiver 46, wide receiver 72, wide receiver 47.
19:28But look what my man's has done since.
19:3019th, 14th, and most recently fourth most PPR points among all wide receivers. So again, I get it. The Vikings very scary defense. Let's see
19:39them ace this matchup though before we're sitting guys like Jameson Williams. All right, with all due respect, it's a volatile, very highwire
19:49act that Brian Flores and company are running. highest blitz rate that we've freaking seen maybe ever at least since 2020 in terms of true media and what
19:56they're doing with it. In week one against the Packers though, Jordan Love and company, they had 353 passing yards.
20:03Watson went nuts. Golden had a good game. And look who they faced since. All right, the Bears. Yeah, I get it. Good
20:09offense. Also, bit of a rainy game. You lost Caleb Williams for the fourth quarter in that one. Then we had the
20:14Buccaneers. Then we had the Dolphins.
20:15Then we had the Saints. Then we had the Colts.
20:19I know the Saints have done some decent things at certain times. Baker Mayfield, and the Buccaneers, they've been okay as well. Was that even Baker in that game,
20:30it was Baker. Either way, man, this is Jared Goff and the Lions. This passing game looks good this year. Goff with a big performance here. He's just
20:41started rising up those MVP ranks. Those are the kind of numbers he's putting up right now. I think he's had like 14
20:45touchdowns and no interceptions here as we get into week eight.
20:49I think the Vikings are a really good defense that make really bad offenses look horrifically bad. Okay, I still think some of the best offenses in the
20:58league can handle this a little bit better. Okay, Jameson Williams, top 20 wide receiver for me. Wide receiver 21, AJ Brown. We're giving him the benefit
21:06of the doubt one last time here. I know he hasn't looked great, guys. I have eyes. I've seen it out there, too. being
21:12a little tough on the guy. All right, everyone calling that one deep ball a drop. That's just great coverage. All right, when the defender has his arm
21:19literally in the dude's chest, that's not a drop. That's good, clean pass, you know, a PBU.
21:27He is coming off a high ankle sprain.
21:29Now, I got to catch myself here because when we're giving guys credit for playing through the pain or, you know, the Ashen Genty situation where it's
21:36like, yeah, he's banged up. Okay, we cannot slander the guy because of that, but we also need to keep in mind, is he
21:43going to be healthier? We don't know if he's going to be any healthier and if he has been banged up before. So, I just
21:48think with Drake May playing like MVP candidate Drake May and a great matchup against literally the worst defense in the league in EPA allowed for dropback.
21:58This is the bounceback spot. All right, this is it. Come on. AJB stuff wasn't great last year either. And this is
22:05still a low-end wide receiver one.
22:07There's no Romeo Dobs. There's no M.
22:08Hollands. It's been a rough two weeks, but guess what? It's been a pretty great seven years to be in the AJ Brown
22:14fantasy business. I'm going to lean on that here ahead of what should be a smash spot. Wide receiver 22. Another unc Stefon Diggs going up against the
22:22Eagles on Sunday Night Football. Talked before about the Quinan Matchel, Quinan Mitchell lack of shadow matchup I'm expecting there. And that leads Stefon
22:29Diggs to, you know, go out there and do his thing. I don't know that he's all of a sudden be getting 20 targets per game
22:34without Terry McLaren. But hey, even with Terry McLaren in the fold this year, wide receiver 26 in PPR points per game. And my mans hasn't finished worse
22:41than wide receiver 25 since Obama was in office. Not expecting that to be stopping here in this season. So, more Antonio Williams who we're going to be
22:48talking about shortly, don't get it twisted. But yeah, guys feeling pretty good about Stefon Diggs doing his thing here against an Eagles defense that I
22:56mean, you look at it before we've been kind of hyping up like, hey, they've been bad against slot receivers. After that Cowboys game, they just been bad
23:02against anything and everything being thrown out there. I mean, shout out to Wade Phillips for the alltimer line, you know, on the Manning Cast saying that
23:09the Eagles defense just can't stop two plays, you know, the run and the pass.
23:13Wide receiver 23. I got Trey Tucker going up against the Jets. Welcome to the top 24, Mr. Tucker. And why not,
23:20guys? 14.3 PPR points per game. Guess who's at 14.4? Mr. Justin Jefferson. So, back-to-back booms for Trey Tucker.
23:27Probably not a coincidence that they came with two defenses wanting to sell their freaking souls to go ahead and slow down Brock Bowers. It's not lost to
23:34me that Tucker had three straight games with under 45 scoreless yards, you know, before them. But hey, the connection looks good. Kurt Cousins is playing
23:42great football, leading the freaking NFL and passing touchdowns to this point.
23:45Why can't Tucker keep on keeping on against a Jets secondary that we don't fear in a match up that again would not
23:50surprise me at all to see all sorts of points for? So, I did not think I'd be sitting here, you know, at the end of
23:55October with Trey Tucker as my wide receiver 23. But it's a great day to be great. Keep on keeping on, Mr. Tucker.
24:02Wide receiver 24, Omar Cooper against the Raiders. What if the answer to Garrett Wilson versus Omar Cooper is just yes. Again, Gino Smith last week
24:11did some really good things and he also did against the Detroit Lions. Now, between then, it's been rough, but we now have a fully healthy offense. We
24:18have a smashable matchup against a Raiders defense that does not deserve the benefit of the doubt. Again, most points allowed in the NFL since week
24:25three. And I believe enough in Cousins and Bowers and Trey Tucker, like we just talked about, to think they could keep
24:30up in what again profiles as a potential sneaky shootout. So, as always, need to keep an eye on the weather when we're
24:35going out to New York and New Jersey and dealing with all that stuff. But man, looking at Cooper leads the freaking NFL
24:42in yards per out run this year and it's not particularly close. And the only other guys that are even close to him,
24:47Jack Smith, the Jigbot, Zay Flowers, Mike Evans, and Drake London just paint an incredible picture here. So, small sample size be damned. Omar Coopers look
24:55fantastic in it. And accordingly, I'm riding the wave. Wide receiver 24 this week. Stay with Cooper for a second, guys. Want to shout out some of these
25:03rookie wide receivers. All right. And look at who has been the most impressive rookie receiver this year based on their yards and targets per route run with a
25:09minimum route run threshold of 50. And lo and behold, here is Omar Cooper, the chart breaker out here, skewing everything up far and to the right. So
25:18again, he looks this great compared to other rookie wide receivers, but he would also be in the number one spot easily on the far right of the graph,
25:25even if I included all the veterans in here as well. So just again, incredible start in the career for Omar Cooper.
25:30really showing off both now the yak and downfield ability that defined you know his final two years at Indiana and made
25:36him a first round pick in the first place. So great stuff from Cooper.
25:39Additional shout outs to Carnell Tate and Casey Conception who'll be talking out shortly for largely making the most out of their opportunities. Been tough
25:45for Bryce Lance but you know coming out of North Dakota State. He was always views a little bit more of a raw
25:50prospect in the first place. He's only had to go out there because of injuries elsewhere on the deaf chart. Otherwise, I would say just kind of anecdotically,
25:58Denzel Boston has done some good things overall. Just been a little bit boomer busty. Again, he's getting a ton of downfield opportunities. He's been open
26:04on a few that Watson's missed, but again, just kind of playing that highwire act a little bit too much. I have likewise seen out Jerry Bernard,
26:11particularly after the catch. I'm excited to see what Antonio Williams can do. Josh Cameron's coming out of absolutely nowhere to potentially, I
26:17mean, not even potentially, I guess, just take Brian Thomas Jr.'s job at this point. So, kudos to him. underwhelmed with what we've seen from Mai Lemon and
26:26my guy Chris Bell, but again, also two guys I've been put in the best situations. And then Jacobe Lane now healthy. Let's see if he actually has
26:33something to say about Rashad Baitman still being a number two wide receiver in Baltimore.
26:37Tier three guys, Boomer Bust wide receiver, three types, right? Starting off with wide receiver 25, DK Metaf had 115 yards against this Browns defense
26:45all the way back in week four because again he was not being shadowed by Denzo Ward. So maybe they changed their tune
26:51this time around. That is legal last time I checked. But yeah, Metaf had two duds outside the top 50 to start the
26:57season, but since then he's finished as a wide receiver 35, 16, 60, 10, and 37.
27:03Certainly finishes we can live with far more often than not. Wide receiver 26.
27:07I'm going with a Mecha Ibuka against the Falcons. And this one is just blowing my mind because at wide receiver, I do like
27:13to try to lean into talent over volume more than say running back. All right.
27:18We regularly see bad real life running backs. Relatively bad. You know, every NFL player is really good. That's not lost on me. But relatively bad running
27:26backs can really get going with great volume when it kind of falls into your lap. And I don't know what a Mecha
27:31Iabuka is at this point, guys. The first four or five games of his career were awesome. The last 16 have been anything
27:36but. Yeah, he's been banged up and his quarterback has been banged up, but some of these numbers are rough. Second worst
27:43mark in NextGen stats. Catch rate overexpected. and the guys that are around him not looking too hot.
27:49When you look at it this year, he's one of only four wide receivers with a passer rating when targeted under 60.
27:55Now, these are things about him getting targeted, right? And he's been getting targeted a lot before he had this unfortunate concussion toe injury combo.
28:0325 targets in his last two games out there.
28:07Usually, the targets and the guys who earn them tends to be one of the variables and one of the metrics that we
28:12should be paying the most attention to.
28:14catch rate, passer rating, those are things that can be impacted by bad quarterback play, which he dealt with with Jaylen Daniels out there.
28:22I'm not sure how healthy Acca is now.
28:25And despite Baker's arm accuracy, arm talent, looking pretty good with the thumb, it was only 11 attempts last week. We can't exactly call that
28:32something to completely be fine with, particularly when it went alongside one of the most runheavy game scripts of the season, even when accounting for, you
28:38know, the time on the clock and the score and everything like that. So maybe Amecha Ibuka is on his way to
28:45getting back to being that top 15 option that many of us hoped he could be when we drafted him back in August this year.
28:52I'm moving him up here. Upside wide receiver three treatment. Expecting eight to 10 targets, but let's see it, man. Let's see him make the most out of
29:00him. That has been the biggest issue so far for Ibuka this year. Wide receiver 27. I got Carnell Tate, guys. As I
29:06mentioned, the tough shadow match up that we are expecting against DJ Turner, but maybe Carninal Tate is just so freaking good that it won't matter at
29:12this point. So, looking at Tate this season, guys, he has got eight out of his nine contested targets. All right, that gives him an 89% contested catch
29:20rate, second only to Puka Nua this season. And that was exactly what his calling card was at Ohio State. He actually caught, I think it was 12 out
29:28of his 14 contested catch targets at, you know, playing for the Buckeyes. And that was the highest single season mark of any power five, you know, wide
29:36receiver going back to 2019. Not named Justin Jefferson or Jackson Smith, Njigba. So I just gave you two stats in college in the NFL that has Carnell Tate
29:44directly next to Justin Jefferson, Jackson Smith, Njigba, and Puka Nakua.
29:48Incredible company. And again, it's going to be a tough match up against DJ Turner, but he can get some leniency away from that in the slot if the Titans
29:56choose to do so. Cam Ward left a lot to be desired this year. I get it. has been going to at least pepper Carninal Tate
30:03with targets out there and we believe in the talent. All right, so we have the volume, we have the talent. It's a tough
30:09matchup. We don't love the QB. We're still checking two out of four boxes pretty cleanly. That's good. Good enough for upside wide receiver three treatment
30:15for me. Wide receiver 28, Lad McConi.
30:18And this feels high. He's been banged up. The Rams have been really good. I will move him down if we do indeed see
30:25Trent McDuffy be active for this one.
30:27But on the other side of things, the brief times we have seen Lad on the field, it looks like he's the guy that
30:33Mike McDaniel built the entire offense around. Fortunately, it's a really shitty offense as we've all found out this year, but that week one was a hell of a drug.
30:42Maybe Lad's healthier coming off the buy. Maybe Justin Herbert, who even if you've been a hater throughout his career, you know, you weren't ranking
30:50him 25th in the league. Again, he's been one of the very worst quarterbacks in the league this year. I'm not trying to
30:56deny that you even before all his entire offense got hurt. But even if you never believe the Chargers hype and good for
31:04you, honestly, great call. Great call.
31:08Even if you didn't like the Justin Herbert top five talk, I really can't believe anyone would have ranked that dude outside the top 15 going into this
31:16year. More likely a top 10.
31:20Maybe, just maybe, we get a healthier Lab Mcconi with a Justin Herbert who was pounding some middle lights over the buy, got his head screwed on a little
31:28more straight. Maybe Mike McDaniel can just be okay. Not even a world beater, just leading not the single worst offense in football. A man can dream.
31:38Wide receiver 29. I got Jeremy Bernard going up against the Browns. Had the dud last week because he didn't get the
31:43volume. And when he's not getting the volume, it's going to be hard for him to create the big plays because they are
31:46using him like a glorified gadget. 6.1 yard average route depth this season guys for Johnny Bernard only Kalio Shakur and dbo Samuel are lower but hey
31:55again Browns have not been putting Denzel Ward on an individual receiver and that helped DK Mechath and Roman Wilson unless we forget 74 yards and a
32:03touchdown have all kinds of success against this group just a few short weeks ago I do think we see a nice
32:08little wide receiver three worthy bounce back here from Jeremy Bernard wide receiver 30 I got Casey Conception on the other side of that but unfortunately
32:16as great as the breakout was last week 52 total yards. We did have the drop likely 50-yard touchdown. And that does
32:23now have KC sitting as the number two wide receiver in the Deontay Johnson Memorial Award for most targets without a touchdown this year. Number one, Mr.
32:32Josh Downs. So DS and KC, they are due.
32:35Maybe we do see Casey get there against the Steelers. I'm being cautious and just expecting again that great performance just absolutely continuing
32:43immediately. I have Casey ranked at Denzel Boston. I want KC the rest of the season because they are getting him so
32:49many just easy opportunities. He leads all wide receivers and screen targets this year, for example. It's just a matter of what version of Deshun Watson
32:56are we getting because it really has just been going back and forth this year to decently good versions. All right, weeks two through four and then week
33:05seven, those were good versions of Deshawn. You know what wasn't? Weeks one, five, and six. All right, so Deshawn played played pretty well
33:10against the Steelers defense last time though. I think with the talent and the volume involved, that's good enough for top 30 treatment for Mr. Conception for
33:17me. Wide receiver 31, Keon Coleman going up against the Ravens. He's benefited from DJ Moore being out of the picture, but put a little respect on Keon
33:25Coleman. All right, 23 years young, number one in the NFL right now in EPA per target. So, yeah, I know Josh Allen
33:32has certainly had a lot to do with that, but Keon's going up there, man. He's making the contested catches and he's
33:37doing the sort of things you would want your 63, 215 pound receiver to do. So, no, he doesn't separate as well as a
33:445'8, 170 pound dude. I get it. But at some certain point, guys, put a little respect on the Keon Coleman's, the
33:50Denzel Bostonans, the T. Higgins of the world, Drake London. You know, like I know Keon's not as good as pretty much
33:56every one of those guys I just named in real life. But I just get so sick and tired of these absolute beast receivers
34:02who obviously are a big-time problem for these smaller quarterbacks to deal with.
34:06and we choose to slander their, you know, separation ability because we live in a world of tick- tock routes and it
34:12pisses me off sometimes. But yeah, Keon Coleman, Boomer, wide receiver three and a matchup where, you know, we did see him booming this time last year in week
34:19one. Wide receiver 32, Keenan Allen, guys. All right, let's do it. Not seeing the Travis Hunter shadow matchup. He's really only done that against Nico
34:28Collins this year, so I'm not too worried there. And just the way it's going, I don't think it's going to be
34:33pretty. But if we look up and the Colts lose by 24 points, but Keenan has eight catches for 60 yards, would not surprise
34:39me in the least. Josh DS also requested a trade at this point. I'm not sure if he's going to get his wish. I'm not sure
34:44if he's going to be out there on Sunday.
34:46I am recording this and ranking this under the impression that he will be out there. If DS is out of the picture,
34:54I don't know if I can move up Kenan all that much. Honestly, DS hasn't stopped Kenan from doing his thing anyway. I'm
34:58gonna ride with him. Wide receiver 32 regardless. Wide receiver 33. I got Mai Lemon going against the Commanders on Sunday Night Football. Nice quality game
35:06against the Cowboys. All right. Still wouldn't say it's been like, oh my goodness, what an incredible rookie out here sort of situation. More so been the
35:13like, hey, we still really like Mai Lemon, the prospect, firstrounder, Blitin Cough, award winner, did some really, really fun things at USC. You'd
35:21like to see as he gets more comfortable in the NFL and make some bigger plays, but you know what? 67 yards in a TUD
35:26against the Cowboys. Not exactly KC, but still good enough for top 15 points there on the week. So going going up
35:32against a Commander defense allowing the six most PPR points per game, two opposing wide receivers. Assuming Devonte Smith is still out of the
35:39picture, I do think we can at least start feeling better about Mai being an upside wide receiver three in fantasy.
35:44Wide receiver 34. On the other sideline, another rookie, Antonio Williams, guys.
35:49All right. only needed 26 snaps to catch four passes for 64 yards and a touchdown against this group back in week one,
35:56which wound up being a pretty good sign of just how bad Philly can be against slot wide receivers. Again, at this
36:02point in the year, they've been bad against receivers of most shapes and sizes, but against slot ones in particular, the worst defensive fantasy
36:08points being allowed at that position.
36:10So, with Antonio Williams getting a volume spike now without having Terry McLaren in the picture, I know Stefon Diggs is still the top dog here, don't
36:17get it twisted. But with Jaden Daniels in this run game really being pretty non-existent and having Jakori Crosky on IR, I wouldn't be surprised if we do
36:26again see a lot more games like what we saw against the Niners before their buy of Daniels largely just dropping back
36:31one play after another. aka should be good volume in a good matchup for a rookie in Antonio Williams I do believe
36:37to be pretty good of football in his own right. Wide receiver 35. I got Jordan Addison. This is the point though in the
36:44rankings where man starts to get rough.
36:47All right. If we got some close star decisions, you got a running back you feel even somewhat good about, you know,
36:51Jordan Mason type, Tony Per type, go ahead and just start them at this point in the ranks. That said, with Jordan
36:58Addison, man, he's just still such a good real life receiver. similar with Justin Jefferson. Haven't seen the volume there. They both have some
37:05injuries they're playing with and Kyler hasn't exactly been, you know, a model NFL quarterback this year. I just look at this matchup and the game environment
37:13and a Lions defense that loves to run man coverage. And one of these weeks we're going to see Addison hit one of
37:18those silky smooth double moves and all of a sudden be taking the top off of defense and reminding us of the big
37:22plays he's capable of. So honestly almost had one last week caught like a 30-yard pass that got nullified on a holding penalty. Wide receiver 36.
37:30Jaylen Wadd against the Chiefs. I said it last week, if he wasn't going to get there against the freaking Cardinals, he
37:37would be down here in the wide receiver four range. And thus, here he is at wide receiver 36, if he's even active. All
37:42right, dealing with a chest injury that has him questionable. 9.1 PPR points per game. God, man. Wide receiver 48, one catch for two yards against this group
37:51in week one. Chiefs have done a great job against pretty much every wide receiver, not named Jackson Smith and the Jigba. I think they do that against
37:57the Waddle here on Sunday. Key question here, guys. Want to hype up some streamers. All right, wide receivers who are available in 70% or more of Yahoo
38:05Leagues that I do think warrant a long look at adding to your fantasy football bench. So, a lot of times say this for
38:10running backs and quarterbacks because of again some of the injury contingent upside or more likely streamer sort of stuff we got to worry about there. But I
38:17was surprised to see some of these names again as low roster as they are. First up, Bills wide receiver Keon Coleman at
38:2328%. Again, even if you don't fully believe in Keon Coleman and you think it's just a pure effect of playing alongside Josh Allen, okay, yeah, that's
38:31not changing anytime soon. He's a boomer wide receiver three, maybe more like a wide receiver for no teams on buy. And
38:38that's with DJ Moore healthy. I think we could be seeing him push up to upside wide receiver three, borderline wide receiver two status. God forbid DJ Moore
38:45is not able to continue to be healthy from that shoulder injury. So again, you want someone with a chance to just we
38:52have five or six targets that going to be downfield in the end zone. Yeah, we probably want the guy with those targets
38:57coming from Josh Allen. Cowboys wide receiver Ryan Fenoy only rostered in 24% of the leagues. So he's actually been good these last three weeks. They've
39:06been usable performances from him.
39:08There's injury contingent upside. All right, with Ryan Fenoy if CD or pickins miss time. We saw him do big things last
39:13year when that happened with CD and similar to Seth McGoen. Like Ryan Fenoy is a good pickup regardless if nothing happens, but the Cowboys lose this one
39:23against the Cardinals. Then they drop another one. They're another bad game or two away. And let's face that, that was the most convincing victory over the
39:30Eagles. A very banged up Eagles team. I think the Cowboys are still a pretty bad team. That defense can't slow anyone. If
39:36we get another really batter or two loss, George Pickkins could be traded and then Ryan Fenoy is going to be super
39:42hyped the rest of the way. Could already be sitting on your bench though if you do it now. Cardinals wide receiver
39:47Kendrick Bourne just 17% rostered more of a play for this week. I know he duted last week and I told you guys that bet
39:52that over on three and a half receptions. So hand up. My bad. I will watch the film and get better. But yeah,
39:57beyond Tren McBride and Michael Wilson, Jaylen Brooks is now out for the season as well with the wrist injury. More and
40:02more Kendrick Bournem Ravens wide receiver Jacobe Lane 16% just with Mark Andrews really being a shell of himself at this point. We're looking at someone
40:10with the potential to be the number two wide receiver in a Lamar Jackson led passing game. also have commanders wide receiver Antonio Williams just talked
40:16about it. But yeah, I would say out of all these guys, Antonio Williams has the cleanest path without anything else happening to just
40:25being someone we can actually be starting sooner rather than later. And then finally, pure speculation, but Jaguars quarterback wide receiver Travis
40:32Hunter. This is another trade piece.
40:34Like we are looking at rumors of Brian Thomas Jr. being dealt and if that happens you would like to think that now
40:39Travis Hunter competing with Josh Cameron who's been good but could definitely see that split you know leaning a little more to Travis and hey
40:46for someone who's getting scheme plays and he's getting a chance to just basically get targeted every other route he's out there we don't even need a
40:52full-time role for someone who's really really good at football so Travis Hunter for me someone that again could do worse than having him stashed on the old
40:59fantasy bench all right guys tier four wide receiver fors that don't look very fun to start to be honest all right we
41:04got Roma Dun going against the Seahawks on Monday Night Football. Had some nice catches after the horrific OPI drop touchdown combo that he put out there.
41:12Just again a very tough matchup and the way he's used so far downfield makes it very risky to treat him as anything more
41:17than the Boomer bust wide receiver for wide receiver 38 Denzel Boston. Made my last jersey bet a couple weeks ago and I
41:24lost. So now I have this Josh Cribs jersey. Shout out Josh Cribs. Amazing returner. I will caution with buying old 2000 jerseys on eBay. I thought it was a
41:32great idea, but this is like ripped halfway up the side. So, yeah, I'm gonna see if Mama Hard has her uh sewing kit.
41:41It happens. Shouldn't have lost my bet.
41:43You know what I'm saying? Anyway, Denzel Boston getting all the downfield opportunities, but as we see, sometimes he booms, sometimes he busts. He did
41:50have a decent game against the Steelers last time. That said, it was more of the blown coverage variety. His other big
41:55plays this year were him just being an absolute dog, but the one against the Steelers, not so much for what it's
41:59worth. wide receiver 39. I'm going super Demario Douglas against the Dolphins. I know he had the dud last week, but you
42:05know, three touchdowns with 65 and 86 yards the two weeks before. If AJ Brown's going to continue sucking it up, but Drake May says, "All right, dude.
42:13Whatever. I'm going to keep doing my thing." Then Demario Douglas is probably going to have more good days and bads.
42:17So, they continue to rotate multiple receivers behind AJ B. And they do love their two tight end sets. But hey, Dearo
42:23is a good receiver and a good matchup with a good quarterback. All right, can't ask for too much more there in
42:27terms of the wide receiver for streets.
42:29Wide receiver 40, Khal Shakur, wide receiver 41, Malik Washington. Wide receiver 42, Jacobe Meyers. Just have again basically your slot receivers that
42:37are a little bit boring. I prefer the game environments and tiebreers like this. Thus, give me Bills Ravens.
42:43Dolphins, Patriots, and Jaguars, Colts in that order. Wide receiver 43, Rashad Baitman, wide receiver 44, Jacobe Lane.
42:51I just prefer Baitman because I think he's better, man. You look at some of these separation based metrics and it's that's what always kills me. Like again,
42:57I I love the stuff that Fantasy Points is doing, their average separation score. Like that's great. All right. It does crack me up though, like Rashad
43:04Baitman is the guy where because he's fifth or whatever, you'll see screenshots of the top four because putting Rashad Baitman on there, people
43:11are like, "Oh, that's kind of people are going to see Baitman that ruins my case." Instead of taking it for what it
43:17is and saying Rashad Baitman's playing good football this year, right? And he's been doing it with a backup quarterback as well. So look, I have a rank wide
43:24receiver 43. I'm not getting carried away, but just like Jacobe Lane, who's also right next to him here with Mark Andrews being nothing. I just I'm very
43:32confused why Jacobe Lane is getting so much more benefit of the doubt over Rashad Baitman. Like I just, you know, he had Jacobe Ling got an endzone target
43:41last week. He dropped it. Doesn't that matter a little bit when discussing players? I don't know. Anyway, great game environment. Please get healthy.
43:49Lamar Jackson, wide receiver 45. Chris Goblin going against the Falcons. Just a pretty tough matchup, man. Falcons are actually third ranked secondary and
43:57fewest points per game. Allowed to slot receivers. Godwin did have a touchdown call back last week, but with Amecha Ibuka likely returning, tough to get too
44:03excited there. Wide receiver 46, Xavier Worthy going against the Broncos. Just horrifically bad at football at this point, man. It's very sad. Wide receiver
44:1247, Josh DS. Could he maybe get a showcase game? They try to pepper him with targets. I guess it's just not
44:19really something I can go out of my way and be actively predicting to happen happen given just how freaking horrific this uh you know Colts offense is at
44:26this point. But I will remind you guys for like the third straight show, but for good reason. If you do need a DST,
44:31the Jaguars DST makes a ton of sense.
44:34All right, they've already been at top 12 DST this year in fantasy scoring.
44:37Also in Havoc, they're a third ranked defense and points per game allowed this year. We got Josh Hines Allen, we got
44:42Travis Hunter. like this is a good real life good defense with a good real life offense head coach quarterback that's not going to be putting him in horrible
44:49positions in these next five weeks.
44:51Daniel Jones led Colts probably the Lamar Jackson led Ravens. That one's not ideal. I get it. Maybe we need to figure
44:57something out something else out there.
44:59After that though, Titans, Giants, Titans, five weeks, you don't need a DST. Give me that any day, man. And finally, wide receiver 48 Caleb Douglas
45:07home against the Patriots. Just a little worried about that Christian Gonzalez shout out. But hey man, shout out to Caleb. I know he's getting it done on
45:13not many targets, but you know, he's still making big plays with them. So, shout out to the rookie down in South
45:19Beach. Key question for this tier, guys.
45:21Want to look at the best game environments overall, right? Something I mentioned, I just wanted to help quantify a little bit for you. Okay, so
45:26team offense implied points is going to be on our x-axis. You can always derive that looking at a game spread and
45:32overunder and basically find out what Vegas is saying each offense is going to be scoring. on the y- axis we have that
45:37accordingly their matchup in the defenses PPR points per game allowed the position. So great offenses with great matchups. We're seeing the Ravens, the
45:46Bills, the Bengals and the Cowboys. So yeah, good reasons to be looking at beyond the obvious starters. All right, guys like Baitman, Lane, Keon Coleman,
45:54Kho Shakur, and Ryan Floroy. Yes, I do think they should be getting the benefit of the doubt in close starts to
45:59decisions more so this week than maybe in others. Also bad offensive with tough matchups. Chargers, Broncos, Browns, Chiefs, and Bears. Hate to see it again
46:08with the Bears and Burden giving him more so the benefit of the doubt with the way he's used and what he does
46:13against zone, but not feeling too good about the Roma Dunes week. Great offenses with tougher matchups. We had the Jaguars, Rams, Packers, Lions, and
46:19Patriots. And then bad offenses with good matchups, Eagles, Colts, and Vikings are standing out there. So again, Jordan Addison looking at someone
46:27like Keenan Allen and Indie and even Mai Lemon in Philly. guys who I do think could be benefiting from their matchup,
46:34even if we maybe can't feel great about the rest of season appeal and what's been pretty bad offenses. Guys, before we finish things out, we'll give a shout
46:41out to our friends over at Fantasy Genius because being in a long-term fantasy league, it's not just about the competition, it's about the history, and
46:48Fantasy Genius keeps all the history for you. All you have to do is connect your league and boom, you have access to
46:53every story and piece of analytics tailored directly to your league. And hey, one of the best features is the player history, which breaks down who
46:59has owned which player throughout the course of your league and how they've done on each team. Maybe your idiot friend Keith thought that drafting CMC
47:06in 2020, 2021, 2024, was going to be a good idea and swore off him otherwise.
47:12Or maybe Mikey just can't stop drafting Marvin Harrison Jr. No matter what.
47:16Again, the possibilities are endless here with all the information that Fantasy Genius has. And also, not just information, but Fancy Genius likes to
47:22have some fun. They have human written fancy writeups for your league. No more boring or generic AI generated recaps that nobody reads. If you want custom
47:30fantasy football analysis from colorful personalities, Fancy Genius should be your go-to. So guys, if you want to go ahead and head over to fancygenius.io,
47:38connect your league and see what your history has to say. Use code rotoire for 20% off your first year. Again, that's
47:43fancygenius.io.
47:45Use code rotoire for 20% off. Shout out to our friends over at fantasy genius.
47:50All right, guys. Wide receiver fives.
47:52Now, I'd hope you don't have to start these guys in your lineups, but you know what? Sometimes beggars can't be choosers with buys or just injury riddle
47:57bad fantasy football teams. Wide receiver 49 Ryan Fenoy. Wide receiver 50 Kendrick Bourne 51 Courtland Sutton. Fun fact on Courtland Sutton. I like looking
48:06at this list throughout the year, but if you literally just get the ball and spike it every single play. All right,
48:11if you you listening to this right now, if you spike the ball on every single play and you were somehow an NFL
48:16quarterback, you would have a passer rating of 39.6. That's how it works. All right. Corin Sutton when being targeted this year has a 37 passer rating. Corin
48:25Sutton is the only player only wide receiver at least I checked who has been less efficient targeting than that the quarterback literally just spiked the
48:33ball into the ground. Not great. Wide receiver 52 Darius Cooper 53 Wandale Robinson not going my way for Wandale but I will say I think partially because
48:43the DJ uh Turner impact Bengals top five defense in the EPA allowed for drop back this season. like they're good pass
48:49defense, but they've kind of been funneling things in the slot accordingly. Second most PPR points per game. Allowed to rece allow allowed to
48:56wide receivers aligned from the slot.
48:58Could be a nice Wondo Robinson beneficiary. RC receiver 54 Travis Hunter. Hey, not going to get many opportunities, but it's a really good
49:07player and it does seem more likely that we actually get a few opportunities per week. Couldn't say that in the first
49:11month of the season. Wide receiver 55 Jan Dawson 56 Sabian Williams 57 Adnai Mitchell 58 Cooper Cub 59 Quinton Johnston and wide receiver 60 cut leaf
49:22Raymond. But guys that's going to do it for me. I appreciate you hanging out as always. If you like the show, please
49:26like the show and that subscribe button helps as well. Good luck in the week eight matchups. Now I'm going to get
49:31back to writing about tight ends and I'll be back to bark about those here shortly. So appreciate you as always.
49:36I'm Ian Hartz and until next time, take care everybody.
