Braelon Allen

NegativeBust69:04

Scott Barrett explicitly states he wants to fade Braelon Allen, categorizing him as a player to avoid in the current running back dead zone.

Insight page

Breece Hall

NegativeValue68:12

Scott Barrett uses Breece Hall as a benchmark for a high-tier running back group that drafters pass before entering the 'dead zone' tier.

Insight page

Brenton Strange

NegativeUsage24:15

Brenton Strange is highlighted as a factor in the team's potential reliance on 13 personnel groupings, which JJ Zachariason notes could negatively impact the snap shares of the team's primary wide receivers.

Insight page

Brian Thomas Jr.

PositiveValue27:14

JJ Zachariason views Brian Thomas Jr. as a bad draft pick at his current cost due to a difficult early-season schedule featuring top-tier cornerbacks; he is recommended as a midseason buy-low candidate instead.

Insight page

Brock Bowers

NegativeValue16:44

JJ Zachariason expresses a preference for a quantity-over-quality approach at tight end, explicitly stating he does not want to draft Brock Bowers in the middle rounds, preferring to use that draft capital to load up on multiple tight ends instead.

Insight page

Bucky Irving

NegativeBust69:04

Scott Barrett includes Bucky Irving in his list of running backs he wants to fade within the current draft tier.

Insight page

Cam Akers

NegativeValue68:22

Scott Barrett uses Cam Akers as a benchmark for a high-tier running back group that drafters pass before entering the 'dead zone' tier.

Insight page

Cam Newton

NegativeUsage6:47

Scott Barrett uses Cam Newton as a historical comparison for a hyper-mobile quarterback who historically did not target running backs, yet still oversaw a highly productive, high-ceiling season for Christian McCaffrey, suggesting a similar path for current mobile-QB-led offenses.

Insight page

CeeDee Lamb

PositiveValue60:20

JJ Zachariason cites CeeDee Lamb's 2023 season as a prime example of the type of league-winning value drafters should target at the one-two turn.

Insight page

Chris Godwin

NegativeRole22:09

Chris Godwin is cited as a historical example of a slot receiver who thrived in the offensive scheme now being implemented by Liam Coen.

Insight page

Chris Olave

NegativeRole53:25

JJ Zachariason is low on Chris Olave, explaining that the arrival of Jordan Tyson likely pushes Olave into a deep-threat role. While Olave has expressed a preference for that role, Zachariason notes that deep-field routes are generally less valuable for fantasy production compared to the high-volume, short-area PPR work expected for Tyson.

Insight page

Christian McCaffrey

PositiveProjection4:00

JJ Zachariason notes that when healthy, Christian McCaffrey leads all running backs in fantasy points per game, maintaining an elite production floor. Scott Barrett further highlights his historical significance, noting that even with a mobile quarterback like Cam Newton who historically avoided checking down, McCaffrey still produced a high-ceiling, elite fantasy season.

Insight page

Cooper Kupp

NegativeRole22:17

Cooper Kupp is referenced as a historical success story for the slot receiver role within the offensive scheme used by the Rams.

Insight page

D'Andre Swift

NegativeBust69:04

Scott Barrett explicitly includes D'Andre Swift in his list of running backs to fade within the current draft tier.

Insight page

Dallas Goedert

PositiveValue17:13

JJ Zachariason and Scott Barrett identify Dallas Goedert as a late-round value target, noting he is being drafted at his floor (TE15). Goedert is highlighted for having the easiest early-season strength of schedule at the position, making him a strong pairing for a George Kittle-led team.

Insight page

David Montgomery

PositiveValue68:29

Scott Barrett identifies David Montgomery as his preferred target among the group of running backs typically drafted in the dead zone, stating he has him 'tears ahead' of other running backs in that range.

Insight page

De'Von Achane

PositiveValue0:10

Scott Barrett and Theo Gringer view Devon Achane as a round-one caliber talent currently undervalued in the mid-to-late second round. Achane has finished as a top-six fantasy RB in PPG every year of his career and holds the best career YPC average since the 1950s. JJ Zachariason projects him for 70 receptions, and Gringer ranks him 16th overall, well ahead of his 25+ ADP. While some worry about Malik Willis's historical tendency to target RBs less frequently, the lack of other receiving options on the Miami roster makes a 100-plus target workload highly probable. Additionally, his explosive potential is compared to Tyreek Hill, and Brett Whitefield projects a season similar to Christian McCaffrey's vintage sophomore year.

Insight page

George Kittle

PositiveValue13:18

JJ Zachariason highlights George Kittle as a major value, noting that over the last two years, Kittle has averaged 15.3 fantasy points per game—identical to Justin Jefferson—yet is drafted 98 picks later on Yahoo. Scott Barrett is not concerned about Kittle potentially missing Week 1 or taking time to return to 100% health, suggesting he pairs well with late-round tight ends like Dallas Goedert or Isaiah Likely.

Insight page

Greg Dulcich

NegativeProjection6:06

Scott Barrett mentions that they are projecting over 80 targets for Greg Dulcich, which serves as a benchmark to illustrate the lack of target competition in the offense, further supporting the case for a high target floor for the team's primary weapons.

Insight page

Isaiah Likely

PositiveValue17:14

JJ Zachariason and Scott Barrett target Isaiah Likely as a late-round value who pairs well with George Kittle. Likely is expected to be more useful in September, particularly if Malik Nabers takes time to round into full form.

Insight page

Jadarian Price

PositiveBreakout28:03

Scott Barrett identifies Jadarian Price as a top rookie target who could smash his seventh-round ADP, projecting him for roughly 950 rushing yards and nine touchdowns. Price has a path to 80% of the backfield work on an elite Seahawks team, especially given Zach Charbonnet's injury concerns and lack of competition from George Holani or Emanuel Wilson. JJ Zachariason also suggests Price as a late-round target for drafters looking to play catchup.

Insight page

Jalen Tolbert

NegativeDepth Chart5:56

Scott Barrett identifies Jalen Tolbert as the current wide receiver two for the team, using this thin depth chart as evidence that other primary playmakers will be forced into a high-volume target role in the passing game.

Insight page

Javonte Williams

NegativeValue68:22

Scott Barrett uses Javonte Williams as a benchmark for a high-tier running back group that drafters pass before entering the 'dead zone' tier.

Insight page

Jordyn Tyson

PositiveBreakout30:26

JJ Zachariason and Scott Barrett view Jordan Tyson as a must-draft target on FFPC, noting that Kellen Moore's offensive scheme could turn him into a PPR cheat code. Tyson possesses top-10 draft capital, size, athleticism, and route-running ability, with expectations that he will handle short, shallow routes while Chris Olave shifts to a deep-threat role. Beat writer Nick Underhill has already praised Tyson as the best player on the field.

Insight page

Josh Jacobs

NegativeValue68:22

Scott Barrett uses Josh Jacobs as a benchmark for a high-tier running back group that drafters pass before entering the 'dead zone' tier.

Insight page

Justin Jefferson

NegativeValue15:44

JJ Zachariason uses Justin Jefferson as a comparison point for George Kittle's fantasy production, noting that while they have identical fantasy points per game averages over the last two years, Jefferson is drafted seven rounds earlier. Justin Jefferson is cited as a historical example of a rookie who provided significant fantasy football returns.

Insight page

Lamar Jackson

NegativeValue75:30

JJ Zachariason notes that Lamar Jackson typically goes about two rounds behind Josh Allen in draft formats.

Insight page

Malik Washington

NegativeUsage2:20

Scott Barrett notes that even if one were to project a significant 125-target workload for Malik Washington, the Miami depth chart remains so thin that Devon Achane is still mathematically forced into a top-three target volume role for the team.

Insight page

Malik Willis

NegativeUsage4:58

Scott Barrett acknowledges concerns that Malik Willis historically targets running backs less frequently than Tua Tagovailoa, which could theoretically impact reception totals for Miami's backfield. However, Theo Gringer suggests that Willis's hyper-mobility could positively impact fantasy production by opening up lanes for explosive runs, similar to how Cam Newton's mobility did not prevent Christian McCaffrey from having a high-ceiling season.

Insight page

Mike Evans

NegativeValue10:31

Scott Barrett identifies Mike Evans as a high-upside draft target, comparing his current mispriced ADP to Keenan Allen's breakout season; Evans is being drafted in round seven on ESPN, but Barrett recommends taking him three rounds earlier, ranking him as WR20-21. While health is a risk, Barrett cites Fantasy Points Data showing Evans has been top-three in average separation score for three consecutive seasons with no evidence of non-injury-related decline. Additionally, the season-ending injury to Ricky Pearsall improves Evans' target distribution path, and any injury aggravation for George Kittle would likely lead to even more usage for Evans.

Insight page

Parker Washington

PositiveBreakout20:21

Scott Barrett identifies Parker Washington as the single most mispriced player in drafts, projecting him to fill the high-volume slot role that previously fueled Chris Godwin, Cooper Kupp, and Wan'Dale Robinson. Washington commanded a 33% target share in three-receiver sets last year and averaged over 100 yards per game during the team's late-season surge. He is perfectly suited for the Liam Coen offense and Trevor Lawrence's need for a receiver who gets open immediately. JJ Zachariason notes that Washington is set up for a great start to the season, despite a difficult early-season cornerback gauntlet.

Insight page

Patrick Mahomes

NegativeProjection14:23

JJ Zachariason uses Patrick Mahomes as a benchmark for success, suggesting that if the 49ers had league-average injury luck, Kyle Shanahan would have more Super Bowls than Mahomes.

Insight page

Quinshon Judkins

NegativeBust73:14

Scott Barrett dismisses Quinshon Judkins as an overrated prospect who does not catch passes, is coming off a brutal injury, and plays behind a bottom-five offensive line.

Insight page

Ricky Pearsall

PositiveDepth Chart13:10

JJ Zachariason highlights that the season-ending injury to Ricky Pearsall has improved the outlook and target distribution path for Mike Evans in the 49ers' offense.

Insight page

Saquon Barkley

PositiveValue60:20

JJ Zachariason uses Saquon Barkley's 2024 draft position as a historical reference for the caliber of player expected at the one-two turn.

Insight page

Travis Etienne

NegativeBust69:04

Scott Barrett includes Travis Etienne in his list of running backs he wants to fade within the current draft tier.

Insight page

Travis Hunter

NegativeUsage25:10

Travis Hunter is viewed as a potential disruptor to receiver route shares, with JJ Zachariason suggesting that a 35% route share for Hunter could cap other receivers at 75% and potentially hinder offensive efficiency based on historical performance.

Insight page

TreVeyon Henderson

NegativeBust73:40

Scott Barrett labels TreVeyon Henderson the 'anti-exodia' and prefers Rhamondre Stevenson, noting Henderson's limited 25% snap share and low efficiency in the playoffs.

Insight page

Trey McBride

NegativeValue9:13

JJ Zachariason explicitly states he does not want to draft Trey McBride in the middle rounds, preferring to use that draft capital to acquire multiple tight ends for a quantity-based strategy. Theo Gringer notes that the current fantasy community is collectively fading McBride, which Zachariason aligns with by prioritizing volume over individual mid-round tight end picks.

Insight page

Wan'Dale Robinson

NegativeRole22:17

Wan'Dale Robinson is mentioned as a historical example of a slot receiver who succeeded under Liam Coen's coaching at Kentucky.

Insight page

Zach Charbonnet

NegativeInjury28:38

Scott Barrett is not concerned about Zach Charbonnet's competition for touches, citing injury experts who suggest he may not return until November and might not be at 100% even then.

0:002026 fantasy football draft strategy and targets with Scott Barrett of Fantasy Points. But before we get started, Scott, one thing I'm noticing a lot on X
0:10in the draft streets and also with some analysts, some of some guys we really respect, we're seeing some fullon fades with Devon Achan right now. The two of
0:20us selected Hchan last week in an FFPC main event that we did over on Fantasy Points YouTube, and people hated that
0:27pick for us. I'm open-minded to Devon Han right now at cost and I think people are really overthinking this one. I
0:34think we've also reached an inflection point for him with on in dynasty where you can actually get him for cheap. But
0:40from a reddraft lens, why are people full-on fading a situation where he is clearly going to be the number one target in the passing game and the guy
0:48just averaged 20 and a half points per game in his third season as a pro?
0:53>> Yeah, honestly, I think it's embarrassing. It's it's this is a running back who's finished top six in fantasy points per game every year of
1:01his career. Uh I know we want running backs who are on a you know high-end offense. Um but you know what's also
1:08important is just like really talented players. This is a guy who um has the best career yards per carry of any
1:16running back since the 1950s. So he's good on the ground. Receptions are worth a lot in PPR halfpr leagues. Well, guess
1:24what? He has more receptions than any other running back over the last two years combined. And if you want to say,
1:29"Oh, this Miami offense isn't great."
1:32Um, it's well, it sucked last year. It was 31st in plays per game. It was 25th in points per game. Um, and it's also
1:40just like one of those things like if you're not doing projections, maybe you don't see it, but it's like you could be the biggest Malik Washington
1:49bull in the world and give him like 125 targets. There's still nowhere else for the ball to go. Like look at this Baron
1:57depth chart. You have to be projecting out targets and there's no way Devon Achan isn't going to be top three in in
2:04target volume this year. And so yeah, you asked like what is causing this? I think it's best brain rot, which is
2:11something I've talked about just like the takes across the industry, Theo, are the worst I can remember from like really sharp analysts I admire and
2:20respect. And I think it's because you look at underdog Devon Achan like started off the year like late round two and is now mid round two and if he and
2:31so it's just like I think you're anchored to that and it's like oh yeah round two Devon Han round two Devon Han
2:38um but if he had you know open the year with a 110 ADP the same these same guys would be like oh maybe we should take
2:45Devon Han over CMC. Um, but no, this is this is a round one caliber pick for me.
2:51Uh, we got him in round two in FFPC. Mid mid to late round two.
2:55>> Mid round two. Yep.
2:56>> Easy all day. Am I doing that?
2:58>> Okay, so here's the devil's advocate one. People say that Malik Willis won't check down. Um, we don't really have a
3:05sample size of Malik Willis doing anything, but they say scrambling quarterback, but he won't check down.
3:10Therefore, Devon Chan's reception total is going to diminish. Your thoughts on that one? Yeah. So, this is what I do is
3:16I make like the strongest like anti-argument I can make like the bare case and then I make the strongest bull case and I know upside wins
3:26championships. I know upside is more valuable than downside is detrimental.
3:29And so I try and bake in the riskreward how and like there is that argument is somewhat persuasive. The stat I had is
3:37over the last three seasons no quarterback targeted running backs more often than Tua Tagaloa who now leaves.
3:43No, no quarterback targeted running backs less frequently than Malik Willis.
3:49Yeah, that seems like a concern for Devon Han. But again, it's if you're not doing projections, maybe you don't see it, but if you're doing projections,
3:56it's literally impossible not to give Devon Achan 100 plus targets. Like Jaylen Tolbert is this team's wide receiver, too. uh you know we're
4:06projecting like 80 plus targets for Greg Dolich and it's like still there is no way Devon Han who's one of the best
4:13passcatching running backs in the league by a lot this was you know coming out Danny Kelly was like this is the Tyreek
4:19Hill of running backs and everything I've seen to date top six fantasy point per game finishes all three seasons yeah I think that's right I think this is a
4:27really talented guy if you catch passes negative game script doesn't matter the offensive line doesn't even really matter as much And yeah, this is a guy
4:36who I see as high ceiling, high floor.
4:39Brett Whitefield, the best film expert in the game, thinks this is going to be like a vintage sophomore year Christian McCaffrey like season where again it was
4:47a dog [ __ ] Carolina Panthers team. It was a hyper mobile quarterback who historically didn't target running backs and Cam Newton and he went crazy. And so
4:56yeah, I mean like if you look at my rankings, I don't think I'm like the world's big like Devon H and mustdraft,
5:03but um certainly like in comparison to industry consensus. Yeah, I I feel good about it.
5:08>> Yeah, I'm I'm right there with you. I have Devon and I just updated my rankings over at Rotoire. You can get
5:14access to those using the code Theo20.
5:16Get 20% off. I have Han at 16 overall and that's ahead of where a lot of guys have. I've seen some guys listing him as
5:24at like like 25 plus uh Scott. So, he's really interesting to me. And also the idea that maybe the hyper mobility of
5:31Malik Willis could actually open things up for him in terms of explosive runs.
5:36And we know Devon Achan has that in his bag. We go back to his rookie year. It was like seven plus uh rush yards per
5:42carry. And last year we saw that number trend up. So, I just think it's a, you know, we we act like we know so much and
5:50then I feel like it's just like a hive mind here where every single analyst right now is fading Devon Chan, they're
5:56fading Trey McBride. They're just finding ways to fade a specific group of players. And like you said, we see it in
6:02baseball and then it reflects its way into reddraft. Before we get started, let me tell you how Rotoire fantasy football leveled up for 2026. I'm Theo

7:33your draft guide, uh, fantasy football draft guide by Scott Barrett. You can find it over at Fantasy Points. It's always like an appointment. And the
7:40thing you do in this one, Scott, is you drop a number of players that are your Exodia players. Explain to everybody
7:47what an Exodia player and what Exodia even means.
7:50>> Yeah. Well, it's it's a very nerdy Yu-Gi-Oh reference, uh, where basically if you assembled all five Exodia cards, you automatically win your duel. And
8:01that's basically what I'm giving you. If you just draft these five mustdraft players, and these are like middle to late round targets, you automatically
8:08win. You could just you could just log out of your draft after you draft the fifth one. Nothing else matters.
8:14Congratulations. You automatically won your league. You don't have to do start sit. You don't have to do waiverss. It's just these are the five most mispriced
8:22players in drafts, guys with league winning upside. Uh my historical track record in this has been very good over the years and I feel really good this
8:30year. Dude, ESPN leagues are sickeningly soft. It's the softest I can ever remember by far. I I wrote in my draft
8:38guide, if a single subscriber misses the playoffs in their ESPN league, I have to commit sepeku.
8:47That's a little That's a little harsh right there for sure. Um the Exodas little dark. The Exodas are Yeah, it's a
8:53little much. A little much. The Exodas are always great. Um it's you your hit rate is really good here. And I I tried
9:00to twist Scott's arm and said, "Hey, how about you drop every single Exodia here?" He said, "It wouldn't be fair to
9:04do that, but you're going to reveal two of them here." So two of the five.
9:08>> Hey, that's more than anyone else gets.
9:10I said, "Hey, Theo's the king of YouTube, my favorite person to podcast with. You get one more than anyone else.
9:17And you actually were the one who made me reveal my first exude.
9:21>> I did. We We broadcasted the NFL draft every year at Fantasy Points. And it was me, you, and Brett Whitefield. And we
9:28had we had a record-breaking uh opening night. The day one of the NFL draft, like we had a just like I don't know
9:3525,000 views or something. And we kept telling people if they stuck with us to the end, uh got to like pick number 25.
9:42Uh, and I I won the Huddle Report that night, too. So, people were sort of like paying attention to that. And then we
9:48said also Scott's gonna give you a player to trade for in Dynasty that's also like an early Exodia pick. We'll talk about that player in a moment, but
9:56you revealed one back then. So, you know, these have been out there, Scott.
9:59You're you're being very generous, but you're not being you're not being crazy generous, but one of them that nobody knows here. Uh, you want to reveal this
10:06one? It is a older wide receiver. Um, and could this player be the 2026 version of 2025 Devonte Adams or potentially even higher ceiling there?
10:18>> Yeah. Well, he reminds me of uh my Exodia from what was it three years ago, Keenan Allen, where like his ADP just
10:25didn't make sense at all.
10:26>> Well, we'll say I should have said the player. I thought you were going to be like it it say >> it's Mike Evans of the San Francisco
10:3249ers.
10:33>> Yeah.
10:34>> And so this just feels like, you know, Keenan Allen 2.0 where that year he finished what? second, third in fantasy
10:39points per game with a round five ADP.
10:41And it's the same thing. It's really just to me it's like just a bet on whether or not he stays healthy. It's
10:48like the bare case like the at an absolute minimum if he plays 16 games is like yeah, he's getting a dozen plus
10:55touchdowns in this Kyle Shanahan offense. But I I see more upside even than that honestly. Um, you know, this is easily the best wide receiver, uh, I
11:05think Kyle Shanahan has had since the Andre Johnson days, the Julio Jones days. And that was like for the old school guys, like the cheat code was you
11:13wanted the Kyle Shanahan wide receiver one. Julio Jones almost had 2,000 receiving yards that year. And then like even since then, like people don't
11:22realize Debo is not a good separator.
11:23He's like a bottom third of the league separator, but he always put up points in that offense. He got the most out of
11:29Brandon IU. And yeah, it's just this this offense that, you know, every this is the best play caller in football according to me, according to his peers,
11:38the the recent athletic piece. I don't know if you saw that. Uh it's a high-powered offense. I'm a big Brock Pery guy. And uh yeah, it's really just
11:46a matter of whether or not he stays healthy. I think I think Ryan Heath put it perfectly. He said, uh whatever
11:53happens with Evans this year, it will feel incred incredibly obvious in hindsight. Either he scores a zillion touchdowns for Kyle Shanahan or his
12:01hamstring falls off the bone like Texas barbecue because he's 33 years old practicing next to a haunted 5G Chernobyl super EMF electrical
12:13substation. Uh and yeah, that's again that's really the I I don't think there's any risk of like non-injury related decline. We have a stat fantasy
12:22points data. It's the most predictive wide receiver metric. uh non-productive wide receiver metric. It's very similar to Matt Harmon's reception perception.
12:31It's called AS, average separation score. And according to our data, Mike Evans is the ascot. He's top three in average separation score in each of the
12:42last three seasons, including last year when he was playing, you know, most of the year banged up. And so, yeah, again,
12:48like I said, it's really just a bet on whether or not he stays healthy. and at this like ridiculous ESPN, Yahoo, ADP,
12:55that's that's a bet I want to be making 10 times out of 10.
12:58>> Yeah, Evans, we we know like how good he was in Tampa Bay and it just feels like the drum beats are there for him to have
13:05a really really strong season. Even an aegist like myself has had to move Mike Evans up in the rankings because it's
13:11just everything's lining up. Then you have the Ricky Persol uh season ending injury. So, I mean it the run out has
13:18been fantastic and and I know you're you're optimistic about KD as well, but KD, if we have any sort of reagravation
13:25there, Mike Evans would see even more usage. So, uh, Mike Evans, make him part of your draft plan. Scott, how how high
13:33are you pushing him up your own wide receiver rankings?
13:37>> Mike Evans?
13:38>> Yeah.
13:39>> Um, well, he goes, Dude, it's it's ridiculous. He goes round seven on ESPN right now. If you follow my rankings, I
13:48think you take them like three rounds earlier, but there's just like so much wide receiver value this year. Three of the Exodas are wide receivers. And I
13:56honestly this year I felt like I could have had nine exodas and maybe you know most of those wide receivers. Um I have
14:03him I think wide receiver 20 21 in my rankings. Um but yeah, you mentioned George KD dude. George KD is another one
14:12of my guys and like I'm not a 49ers fan.
14:15I'm not a 49ers homer. Uh but I really do believe that if they just had league average injury luck instead of like
14:23impossibly bad injury luck, it's like one out of a billion injury luck. Um Kyle Shanahan would have more Super Bowls than Patrick Mahomes easy. Like
14:33they've just run so incredibly. A stat I had was um fantasy points data. You look at um over the last three years plays
14:41that KD, CMC, and Trent Williams were all on the field together. So, not even including plays without Brock Perie, their EPA per play
14:51was like three times as much as any other team. It's just that was so infrequent because of, you know, uh the
14:58the poor injury luck to key players. But yeah, George KD like Evans, it just feels like a bet on, you know, does he
15:04stay healthy or not? And dude, Christian McCaffrey, too, by the way. whenever he's healthy, he leads all running backs in fantasy points per game. But yeah,
15:13George KD, here's the stat I had. I think you're going to like this. So, in 2024, he led all tight ends in fantasy points
15:22per game, more than Trey McBride, more than Brock Bowers. Last year, he finished second best, 14.7, tied with Brock Bowers, although that jumped an
15:31extra two points if you only counted games that Brock Perie played, cuz remember, he missed a bunch of time. But over the last two years combined, KD
15:40averages 15.3 fantasy points per game.
15:44That's the exact same as Justin Jefferson.
15:47>> That's wild.
15:47>> Justin Jefferson goes 98 picks seven rounds earlier than George KD on Yahoo.
15:53That's that looks like an extreme discount to me.
15:55>> Yeah. Yeah, and I think if you play tight end premium and Scott and I will also be drafting an FFPC main event
16:00right here on on RotoWire YouTube and then I think we'll run one back with a Bag Bubba over on Fantasy Points YouTube
16:07at some point as well. Uh KD's going as the tight end 10 in tight end premium FFPC leagues in like round seven. Do you
16:15think that that's something where if you're specifically a tight end premium manager, you should make one of your main draft targets in round seven?
16:23>> Yeah, absolutely. I want to load up on tight ends. He's not my Exodia tight end on FFPC. I have a few actually. Um, but
16:30he's certainly up there. Certainly a target for me. You know, when we do this draft, I'm going to be pounding the
16:36table for tight ends in round four, round five, round six, round seven. I like the sort of quantity over quality approach. I don't want a Brock Bowers. I
16:44don't want a Trey McBride, but I want like four tight ends in those middle to late rounds.
16:49>> Yeah. And without revealing the Exodia tight end or tight ends, you have to read the article to find out if there's
16:55multiple. Um >> or or watch our draft show. I'm sure I'll be banging the table for for my guys.
17:00>> That's right. Is there a couple other tight ends that just if people have a draft like this week that you're
17:05open-minded to drafting uh that you think could present uh really strong values? I know the two of us drafted like Dallas pretty late. Um we've talked
17:14about Isaiah likely a number of times.
17:16Any other sort of titles?
17:17>> I think that's it. I think that's it. I think those are the two guys I every year in my draft guide say you don't
17:22need to draft a second tight end. I think 2026 is different. I think there's just so much value there. Particularly with those two tight ends, Isaiah
17:31likely, Dallas Goddard. I have them like basically tied in my rankings. Ryan Heath, the best the best fantasy writer in the game, has been giving me so much
17:39grief. He hates Isaiah Likely.
17:41>> I know it's weird. I got into it with Ryan and Isaiah likely as well a bunch of times even when we were doing like
17:47projections meetings uh when I was at Fantasy Points and Ryan Heath I think he's just got a I don't know why Ryan
17:53Heath if you're watching the show let us know in the comments why do you hate Isaiah likely let the uh Roto wire
17:58>> it has to be personal Isaiah likely must have bullied him in high school or something >> something um but yeah one thing I wanted
18:04to mention about both these guys is like they uniquely pair really well with the George KD so if you are worried about um
18:11George KD potentially missing week one which I'm actually not that worried about or you know taking him a while to get back to 100%. I think both guys pair
18:20perfectly well. Dallas Goddard has the easiest early season strength of schedule at the tight end position Isaiah likely um you know certainly if
18:28Malik Neighbors takes a while to to round into full form then yeah he should be better off in September. So I think
18:35those guys are uniquely um attractive to a George KD team. I did an FFPC um priority targets and targets list by
18:43round article over at Rotoire and I, you know, I've never been like a Dallas guy over the years, but tight end 15, it
18:51feels like we're drafting him at his floor and now you have Mai Lemon sort of very slow out the gate, a little bit
18:56banged up. Uh where you have Dante, >> no surprises here.
18:59>> No s I know that's a whole another a whole another argument. uh that that you can you can those have been well
19:05archived my Mai Lemon versus Scott Barrett and Brett Whitefield uh those takes but I think Goddard's he's just primed to sort of have the exact same
19:13role he did last year which was 20% plus target share and he ended up with 11 touchdown catches so >> no no no the exact same shouldn't it be
19:22much better without AJ Brown >> the target share is an interesting one like Shawn Mannion we don't know how that's going to run out and we're going
19:28to find out which offensive coordinator the new ones that Scott's most excited about this year. We're going to ask that a little bit later. But before we kind
19:36of move off of these Exodas, the NFL season is right around the corner and that means Survivor pools are back. Rotoire is partnering with Splash
19:45Sports and there's two awesome Survivor pools here. 150,000 in guaranteed money.
19:52Go to splashports.com/rotoire and they're giving us a 50% match. So, if you deposit $50, you're going to get
20:00$25 for free. You can enter the 50K touchdown survivor. That's a $25 entry.
20:08You can win $50,000. You have to identify a touchdown score each week or $15 entry for the $100,000 NFL Survivor.
20:18Again, that's splashports.com/rotoire.
20:21Compete against me, Ian Harditz, and more. We'll see you over there. one more that you've revealed for months and months. It's sort of a player that's
20:29been synonymous with you, Parker Washington. And some people watching this show are not going to like hearing another pro Parker Washington take
20:37because now you have a lot of analysts sort of on this train. But Scott, you were on this during the NFL draft. You
20:42saw what you saw at the end of last season and in the NFL playoffs. Just how high a ceiling does Parker Washington
20:49have? Cuz I think everybody can get behind, hey, I'm in round six. I'm in round seven. This is going to be a
20:54useful player for me to have. But is this a guy that we're looking to get wide receiver 20 or is it a guy that
21:00could go full-on 2024 Chris Godwin?
21:05He's going 2024 Chris Godwin. Theo, that's what I said to you in April and I said he was the single most mispriced
21:12player in drafts. I say that he moves up everyone's rankings. Everyone's talking about Parker Washington. He rises in ADP two rounds. Guess what? He's still the
21:21single most mispriced player in fantasy right now. He's the ultimate upside wins championships bet. You look at you look at Jacksonville when they were at their
21:31best last year over the last five games of the season. They weren't just great, they were, you know, just about the best
21:38offense in football, second best offense in football. Trevor Lawrence looked like MVP. And no surprise, that's when they fed Parker Washington and he was the
21:48absolute alpha of that offense. He was averaging over 100 yards per game. No other receiver over 42 yards per game.
21:56Uh and that's the same thing where if you look at only when plays all three wide receivers were on the field, it was
22:02like a 33% target share. No one else was coming close. He was the alpha of that offense. And that makes sense. It's the
22:09Liam Cohen slot role. Chris Godwin was an Exodia two years ago. Why? Because he was the Liam Cohen slot. What happened?
22:17He ranked second best in fantasy points per game behind only Jamar Chase and then he got hurt. But before he got
22:22hurt, not only was he behind only Jamar Chase and fantasy points per game, but he was also averaging eight fantasy points per game more than Mike Evans. No
22:31one does that to Mike Evans. Mike Evans is an absolute alpha, but Chris Godwin did that in the Liam Cohen role. Why?
22:38because that offense runs through the slot wide receiver. He did it with Chris Godwin. He did it with Parker Washington last year. And he did it with Bondell
22:46Robinson at Kentucky. He did it with Cooper Cup and the Rams. And so I see that exact thing thing playing out. And
22:53it's not just Parker Washington's perfectly suited for the Liam Cohen offense, but he's also perfectly suited for Trevor Lawrence. Anyone who knows me
23:01knows I was Trevor Lawrence's all-time biggest hater. every single year of his career. I was saying like, you know, why why do we put the hype on his name like
23:10he's a 10 a top 10 quarterback when he's never been better than Derek Carr. I turned into a believer. You know, if I
23:16could make any bet on anyone to win MVP at current odds, it would be Trevor Lawrence. But his biggest issue that I
23:23always pointed out and defensive coordinators have pointed out, if you listen to their press conferences when they played the Jacksonville Jaguars,
23:28they talked about this is Trevor Lawrence every year led the league in first read throw rate. He locked on to his first read. Uh, and so I always said
23:39he needs a wide receiver not like BTJ with these downfield routes. He he needs a guy who gets open immediately and
23:45that's Parker Washington. And so I think there's something real to the BTJ M.
23:50Jones versus Trevor Lawrence splits, but I think Parker Washington is going to be Trevor Lawrence's best friend. And man, if you if you listen to John Shipley,
23:59the Jacksonville beat writers, or even just Parker Washington or Liam Cohen themselves, like, yeah, it seems like this is the guy and I feel amazing about
24:07it.
24:08>> The social media team has gone fullon Parker Washington hype. It's like every day there's like a legendary story. You got beat reporters talking about how he
24:15shows up to the practice facility before the assistant coaches. He's there at like 5:00 a.m. Uh, the guy goes to bed
24:21at like 8:30 at night every night. It's like a football robot. Um, Jacob Gibbs brought this one up and it sort of like
24:28rings true in the back of my head where downside scenario, what if Liam Cohen decides, I want to do what Shawn McVey
24:37is doing. I have all these tight ends that we just drafted. I have Brentton Strange and I want to use all this 13
24:43personnel. Look at what the Rams are doing. Is there a scenario where Parker Washington could get sort of like that Jaden Reed treatment and the snaps would
24:53go down to a point that it could really affect him? Is that something that that worries you at all or do you think it's
24:58that the talent is like sort of too big to fail and too and they're going to have to go 11?
25:04>> That worried me a little bit in April when I first gave this take. Um, and I did point out that, by the way, Parker
25:10Washington in 12 and or in heavy personnel had was top three in yards per route run is outwide. Yards per route
25:16run is actually even better than in the slot. Uh, but I I I worry less about it today because Liam Cohen said, "No, no,
25:22no. We realize that 11 personnel is our best grouping because we have three really good wide receivers." You also had Parker Washington say in an
25:29interview last week that he's going to be on the field in those sets. The thing that worries me the most is like what if
25:35they actually give Travis Hunter um like a 35% route share and then like all these guys are capped at like 75% in a
25:45gross four-way committee like we've seen with the Bills and the Packers over the last 3 years. Um but I don't know. I I I
25:53think I think even if that's a real concern, it's like the upside vastly outweighs the risk at this cost. And even then, it's just like I think
26:01they're going to want their best player on the field. Last year, when they had Travis Hunter on the field, this was a
26:06bottom five offense by EPA per drop back without Travis Hunter on the field. This is a top seven offense. And so, uh, I I
26:13don't think they're going to do that. I think he's going to be a full-time quarterback. Maybe a few Makea-Wish routes here and there, but, uh, no, I
26:19think it's going to be the Parker Washington Show in 2026.
26:22>> Okay. And I've talked about just draft strategy here. Let's say that you're a BTJ backer and you draft him in round
26:29six and Parker Washington is on the clock in round seven or you're a Parker Washington backer and you just took him
26:35in round six and BTJ is on the on the clock in round seven. Are you open-minded to fantasy managers drafting both Jacksonville wide receivers? I've
26:45said that I think they're both priced to return value and I think they actually will both beat their ADP. Are you on
26:51that train as well? No, I I think BTJ is an outright bad pick at cost in drafts.
26:57Um because he has a brutal early season quarterback gauntlet. He faces uh Patrick Certain, Christian Gonzalez, DJ Turner, Quinnion Mitchell, Sauce
27:07Gardner. And so that's another reason why we like, you know, the slot wide receiver and why we like Parker Washington. He's going to get off to a
27:14great start. But BTJ, I I I love the Jacksonville Jaguars offense. I love Liam Cohen. I like BTJ. I think he's a
27:22great midseason buy low. I don't think he's a great draft pick.
27:26>> Let's talk rookies because we've seen rookies provide us just unbelievable fantasy football returns, especially when we consider an ADP cost. In recent
27:36memory, we've had guys like Justin Jefferson, Jamar Chase, Puka Nua, Brock Bowers, and then we go back to 2024.
27:44Three wide receivers absolutely smashed.
27:46Brian Thomas, Malik Neighbors, and then Lad Mani. There's been so many more though, Scott. When you're looking at all of the rookies right now, giving ADP
27:55context, who are some guys you think could smash value and provide huge returns to fantasy managers?
28:03>> Um, I feel like it's either Jadarian Price or Jordan Tyson. And I I think I'm going to lean Jadarian Price. Like, it's it's
28:11kind of confusing to me. We just saw Kenneth Walker in the playoffs in a bellcow role average what 25 fantasy points per game, something like that.
28:21And then he drafted this exciting rookie in round one. Typically these guys go in like round two, round three, round four,
28:29and he's going all the way down in round seven. Like even in sharp platforms such as FFPC, he's going really late. Um, and
28:38so yeah, I like I'm not too worried about Zack Charbanet. I I've talked to injury experts who are like, "Yeah, I
28:43think you have to be hoping he returns November." And then even if he does, you don't know if he's going to be at or
28:51close to 100%. In which case, you have a round one rookie rookie competing for touches against George Holani, Emanuel Wilson. Like, those guys do not strike
29:01fear into my heart. So, I think he has a great setup for 20 plus touches on an elite team. Seahawks just won the Super
29:09Bowl. This is they're going to have it's an elite defense. They're going to have great game script. Um and so like I
29:15don't really know what I'm missing here with Jadarian Price.
29:19>> Yeah. And and last year Kenneth Walker and Zack Charbard combined for 19 touchdowns. Like Jerian Price could get there just with touchdowns and explosive
29:27plays. I think we're looking at like 950 rushing yards and like nine touchdowns.
29:32I think he can absolutely smash his ADP.
29:35Um it's a it's a >> go for it. So, that is an absolutely killer stat is how valuable the Seahawks backfield was. It was um like you said,
29:45it was 18 rushing touchdowns. I think at half PPR leagues, it was like the sixth most valuable backfield, but it was
29:51split 50/50. And it's like, do we really think they're going to give the round one running back 50% of the work that
29:58they're going to give to George Hani? I I don't I don't think so. And I think I think the the Kenneth Walker splits last
30:04year were really like, "Hey, this guy is, you know, behind JK Dobbins as the most injuryprone running back in football. He always has these mystery
30:13ailments. Let's let's preserve him for the playoffs." Uh, and so yeah, we saw in the playoffs with like this if he
30:20gets Price gets 80% of the work, he could be a league winner. Uh, and I think he's going to get a lot more than
30:2550%.
30:26>> Yeah, my answer for this one was Jordan Tyson. Happy to hear that you're like struggling between the two of them. I
30:31think Jadarian Price is is like a given.
30:33I got Jadarian Price in an NFC 350 at the 612. I think that's just tremendous value. But Jordan Tyson, seventh round
30:42Jordan Tyson and in some leagues going later. The vibes could not be better.
30:47It's a player that has top 10 draft capital in the NFL draft. The Saints selected him really as a guy that I
30:54think they're leaning on Tyler Shuck.
30:55Let's go get a wide receiver that's absolutely perfect in the Kell Moore offense. Chris Alave is already there, so I think we see some advantageous
31:02coverages for Jordan Tyson, but he's got size, he's got athleticism, he's got route running, um, and he could end up being a red zone weapon as well, and I'm
31:12getting him inside of round seven. One thing that I was always talk about with you when we podcasted together and as
31:18well as Ryan Heath was just how fantasy friendly the Kell Moore offense is. They run a lot of plays. They run a high
31:25tempo and we've seen a ton of wide receiver hit rates over the years with multiple guys there. How good do you
31:31think Tyson could be? Uh I, you know, I've heard you mention him with Price.
31:35It's very close for you right now.
31:38>> Uh no, it's it's probably Price just because of, you know, there there's so much wide receiver value and there's actually not a lot of running back value
31:44in the middle rounds. But I I'm open to Jordan Tyson. I know he's one of your guys. I think the Kell Moore thing is is
31:50really substantial. You know, CD Lamb had the second best year of his career.
31:562023, Keenan Allen and Exodia um was top three in fantasy points per game. Devont Smith and AJ Brown in 2024 last year
32:05with Chris Olive. Um, and like if you look at my rankings, the number one biggest I uh logical inconsistency you
32:15might say might be Jordan Tyson because like I'm very low on Chris Olive and I'm only like a little high on Jordan Tyson
32:23where maybe like he should honestly be, you know, a mustdraft target for me on FFPC by the way. I think he is. I love
32:30his value there. Um, but it's it's Chris Sims said something and Ryan Heath said the exact same thing and someone else said something similar um during
32:41the draft. It was it was I think this Jordan Tyson pick allows Chris Olive to go back to being the deep threat, which
32:52is where he wants to go. um and sets Jordan and Jordan Tyson to be the guy the offense flows through as this sort
33:01of PPR cheat code. And so we know the downfield routes are, you know, very valuable from a real life NFL perspective, but they're less valuable
33:09for fantasy than, you know, like the PPR cheat code, short, shallower routes. Um and yeah, there are quotes from Chris Olive saying like that's the role he
33:18wants to be in. And that kind of was Jordan Tyson in college. Um, and so I think that's really interesting. And
33:24certainly this last week, you know, Nick Underh Hill, uh, New Orleans best beatwriter, said Jordan Tyson looks like the best player on the field. That's
33:32crazy.
33:33>> Yeah, it's it's absolutely wild. I I think that the runout for Tyson could be really, really strong. Let's talk running backs. So, we mentioned Devon
33:40Achan, and we have this massive cluster of running backs that are sort of the tail end of round one headed into round
33:48two, all the way up to the end of round two really. We'll throw Ashton Genty into this list cuz Genty once in a while
33:55goes to the beginning of the second round. I'll remove James Cook from this list unless you think he should be considered. I think I have him just a
34:01little bit ahead of these guys. But Ashton Genty, Chase Brown, Devon Han, Omarian Hampton, Kenneth Walker, Saquon
34:10Barkley, Derek Henry. When you look at this list of running backs you mentioned like Devon Han, are there others that sort of stand out to you as exceptional
34:20values? And is there anyone in this list that you're sort of fading? A lot of drafters are entering their drafts right
34:25now looking to go running back, running back, or at least walk out of the first two rounds with one running back. When
34:32you look at this group of players, sort of how are you breaking them down?
34:36>> Well, um, I could just list off my rankings. It's it's James Cook, Devon Han, Chase Brown, Ashton Ginty, Kenneth Walker, Saquon Barkley, Derek Henry,
34:46Marian Hampton, but that's like a really tight tier for me where I feel like I could kind of Well, actually, I think
34:51this is going to be entertaining for your listeners. You had Ryan Pagnetti on uh former NFL director of analytics, uh, and he's been on my show and he's coming
34:59on my show, uh, next Monday, School of Scott, and I was on the phone with him a couple days ago, and he said some things
35:05that like really made me nervous about Ashton Gy. I'm like, "Damn, I I should probably move him down a spot or two."
35:11He's like, "No, no, no. Move him down a spot or two." And so I I had Ash and GT before that phone call. I had him RB6.
35:19He's now RB8. Uh you're going to have to listen to School of Scott. I don't want to put words in his mouth. Um but uh but
35:27yeah, certainly less bullish on Ashen Genty than I was. How do you have it, Theo? Yeah, I I mean Ashton Genty for me
35:32I have towards the top there, but I I also had Ryan on and it's like what Ryan didn't say about Ashton Genty when he's
35:40talking about Brock Bowers, it's like Brock Bowers is the second coming and Ryan was with the Raiders last year and when I asked him like what player would
35:48he like to know the final stats of um of any player in fantasy, it was Genty because he feels like there's a wide
35:54range of outcomes. He said the guy could end up taking a big step forward as a runner or we could see like some
35:59regression there. though I think Genty does have insulation where you're hearing multiple beat reporters talking about how they want to a ramp him up in
36:07the passing game. So I think he could sort of PPR scam his way to a really really strong season with if he have if
36:13he has 70 catches Scott with similar rushing volume as he did last year. Even if he's not that great he's still going
36:20to be okay. But when I'm drafting a guy at the one-two turn, one-two turn has been Saquon Barkley 2024, CD Lamb 2023,
36:29getting guys who are like huge league winning values. I'm not sure Ashton Genty is there. I drafted him with Jacob Gibbs at the at the one two turn in a
36:37draft and it's like you feel pretty good about it, but I don't know. After talking to Ryan, I I too hold those sort
36:44of uh worries there. Um, Gent is an interesting one though because the pass catching like is there a when I say 70
36:51catches for him, if you knew he was going to catch 70 balls, then it's sort of like you could live with taking him
36:56at cost.
36:58>> Yeah. Well, I mean, I think Aan's going to catch 70 balls. That, you know, that's kind of what I said, but yeah, if
37:03you look at his numbers last year, he had, you know, what was it? 70 plus catches, 220 plus carries. And if you
37:10look at every running back season ever with 220 plus carries, 70 plus receptions, only one running back ever averaged under 16 fantasy points per game. And it
37:21was Ashen Genty. It was like one out of, you know, 87, whatever. It was like an all-time bad year. But it's like, bro, I
37:28wish I wish I could give the the Ryan quote right now, but I don't want to get him in trouble uh in case he doesn't
37:32want it out there. But it's it's it's troubling. Like that's that's an you on one hand you could be like oh regression
37:38to the mean is coming. On the other hand it's like there's a world where he's Trent Richardsonesque on a bad offense with a
37:46bad offensive line. Um I mean again this is a guy I have top 10. But uh certainly you could tell I got spooked on this
37:55phone call. I'll say that.
37:56>> And I'm really glad to see that you kept the School of Scot fantasy football podcast going even when you lost your
38:01podcast co-host Theo Ginger to Roto Wire there. really really happy.
38:05>> Yeah. Hey folks, if you really enjoy this podcast, if you think Theo and I have great chemistry, make sure you
38:10check out the School of Scott podcast and make sure you uh you hit up Theo on Twitter and tell him to quit Rotoire and

40:50Let's talk about that next group of running backs. So, you've got the really fun group in round two where you can
40:55make a bull case for literally all of them. Then you've got that group that's going in the traditional dead zone. When
41:02we get sort of past the Bree Halls, we get past the Cam Scataboos, we get past Josh Jacobs, get past Javvante Williams,
41:09you've got this group of guys where it's Bashel Tutin, Trayvon Henderson, Quinnon Judkins, David Montgomery, Travis ETN, who's starting to fall a little bit,
41:19DeAndre Swift, and then you've got Bucky Irving. Those guys all go right ahead of Jaren Price. If you could pick one of
41:27these players, who would it be? And who is the fade from this list? So, one one that you like and one that you really
41:34don't like.
41:36>> So, the guy I I probably like the most is David Montgomery. And uh if I had to pick one to fade, I wouldn't be able to.
41:44I want to fade them all. I don't want Beasel Tutin. I don't want Trayvon Henderson. I don't want Quinn Sean Judkins. I don't want Travis Etien. I
41:50don't want DeAndre Swift. I don't want Bucky Irving. I want David Montgomery.
41:54That's who I want from that list. So basically, it's a if you miss on Montgomery in that tier, you're probably going wide receiver and then you're
42:02looking to play catchup with Jadarian Price or maybe another running back in the next round.
42:08>> Yeah, listen, you you are on FFPC drafting 200 teams and you like your diversified portfolios. I don't. When I see an edge, I want to hit it to the
42:20max. And I have David Montgomery tears ahead of these other guys.
42:26Do you disagree? Do Do you have >> I told you in the pre-show case for a running back from this group ahead of
42:35>> Well, I'll make I'll make a case where I I have David Montgomery at the top of this list right now. Um, but I'm very
42:41open-minded towards a number of these running backs here, Scott. I think like, you know, you are Mr. Upside Wins championships and I have talent profiles
42:49with Quinn Sean Judkins. Quinn Sean Judkins, I think, is an interesting one.
42:53And I was a little surprised that you weren't making a case for him where we saw the talent last year. He didn't have
42:59a ramp up in training camp at all. Was sort of dropped onto an NFL field in like week three. Came out and had a
43:06really strong game against Baltimore.
43:08Now we've seen all these improvements on the offensive line in Cleveland. He has a profile that is really fun when we
43:15look at him as a pro. I know, you know, we went back and forth on him as a prospect, but athletically gifted and
43:21has that incredible draft capital, was very productive in college, and now is in a situation where you've got like Duce Staley calling him a bellcow,
43:29potentially a three down back, the threat of Dylan Samson's not there, but then you've got the quarterback situation, and can Cleveland give him
43:36enough opportunities around the goal line to actually punch it in? Is there a scenario where one of these guys that you're dismissing burns you? like who's
43:45the highest upside outcome of the guys that you're not drafting that could make Scott Barrett look foolish on this podcast for saying I don't want any of
43:52them.
43:54>> Um it's not Quinnshan Judkins uh who by the way was an overrated prospect. He doesn't catch passes. He's coming off of
44:02a brutal injury. He's running behind a bottom five offensive line and what's probably the worst offense in football and that team is favored in only two of
44:12their games this year. If if it if it's anyone, it's it's your guy who you've made me draft on every freaking team,
44:20but who who I called the anti-exodia, which is uh Tayvon Henderson. Yeah. If if Ramandre Stevenson suffers an injury, it's wheels up. He's going nuclear. But
44:30I I think if Raandre stays healthy, I think Raandre outs scores him. I think they like Raandre more. You saw that in
44:37the playoffs. And when it mattered most, Trayvon had a 25% snap share, averaged 4.3 fantasy points per game. It was the
44:46Ramandre show. And the offense was better off for it. When they had Raandre on the field, it was an elite offense.
44:52When they had Trayvon on the field, it was a bottom five caliber offense. And so, um, yeah, I I I certainly get the
44:59upside argument with Trayvon, but, uh, he's he's not one of my guys.
45:05>> Let's pivot over to the quarterback position. You've got Josh Allen who's just been I mean he's on the Mount Rushmore of fantasy quarterbacks all
45:13time at this point. Unbelievable value every single year. He's fallen uh to a range of drafts where he's like a third
45:22round pick or a fourth round pick depending on your format where you could say that's pretty good for him right there. But then you look at where other
45:30quarterbacks are going. There's always like a gap between Josh Allen and quarterback 2. Usually Lamar Jackson goes like two rounds behind him and then
45:38you've got a million of like upside quarterbacks that go a couple rounds behind those guys. Where are you at on how drafters should approach the
45:46quarterback position? Should they go early QB this year and take advantage of the market sort of dismissing and pushing down the position as a whole? or
45:55should they continue to wait and try to identify late round values like we found last year with Drake May and you have
46:03found in multiple seasons before.
46:05>> I think in an auction league you can make the case for John Josh Josh Allen as an Exodia. A lot of the the top
46:12auction players over at Fantasy Points tell me they take that approach just because I give them so much insane value at the running back and wide receiver
46:20positions, they'll clean up there. So it kind of makes sense to just grab the guaranteed thing. And I think in an 18
46:25league, it's the same thing. Josh Allen is your exodia quarterback. Uh where, you know, a shallower league, it makes sense to have, you know, a premium asset
46:34at the onesie positions, but but definitely not in a 12 team league. You it you really want to go late round
46:40quarterback. And the reason why is because we're so good at identifying the late round gems at the quarterback position every single year. Or at least
46:49historically, I've been really good at it. Uh last year your Exodia quarterback was Drake May who finished second in fantasy points per game behind only Josh
46:57Allen. He finished just one vote behind Matthew Stafford for MVP. The year before that it was it was Jaden Daniels who was your Exodia quarterback who top
47:07three in fantasy points per game. Before that Justin Fields, Jaylen Herz, Lamar Jackson. And so it's like every single year there's a guy going in the double
47:15digit rounds who is going to win you your league. is has top three upside but isn't at all priced like it. And I think
47:23that I found who that quarterback is.
47:25I'm not going to tell you. I'm not going to tell your listeners. Uh you're gonna have to uh head on over to
47:30fantasypoints.com. Use promo code exodia e x o d i a for 15% off and read my draft guide. But uh yeah, certainly
47:38it's, you know, maybe you can guess if you just like look at who these quarterbacks are, the underlying theme between them and yeah, it's a guy going
47:46in double digit rounds. they feel amazing about.
47:48>> For me, I'm open to multiple ways to attack the quarterback position, and I think I can win. I think that Scott's
47:54big takeaway, and I think a lot of a lot of like uh really smart people would agree with Scott on this, and and high
48:00stakes players are really always sort of will reiterate this. Draft quarterback when the edge is gone at other positions or the quarterback stands out as the
48:09biggest edge on the board. I think if you go through that, you're you're going to end up with great value. But I for
48:14me, there's multiple pockets that I think are strong this year. I agree with Scott that I've had drafts where I don't
48:21even draft a quarterback in the top 12 and I double tap it with two of these guys going as quarterback twos. And I
48:26think I like my build there. Then I've had also multiple builds where you end up with a Drake May, you end up with a
48:33Jaden Daniels and they fall to a range where they're going alongside running backs, wide receivers, and and tight ends that I don't think have the sort of
48:41upside to beat me. And the best pick on the board and was Jaden Daniels. So waiting on quarterback, I think when you
48:47can avoid drafting Josh Allen this year, even though it sounds like sacrilege, Josh Allen does go next to running backs and wide receivers who have legitimate
48:56top five upside at the position, whereas some of these other guys just don't. So I think be open-minded at the quarterback position, but like Scott
49:03said, if you miss out on the top 12, there's plenty value to be found in the Q quarterback 2 range this year. Let's
49:09talk about >> I don't know what kind of level of, you know, experience your listeners typically have, but if you're like more
49:15of a casual or, you know, new to Theo and this channel, historically, like one of the biggest mistakes people make is
49:22the overdraft quarterbacks and their their league mates overdraft quarterbacks. Um, but historically, like the last person to draft a quarterback
49:32in their 12 team ESPN home league is is the one who's best set up for success.
49:37That's like rule number one for for a newbie is is is don't overdraft the quarterback position. It just doesn't matter as much in terms of wins and
49:45losses. And like I said, uh ADP is pretty bad at the quarterback position.
49:49There's almost always a late round gem.
49:52>> Let's go rapid fire on recent fantasy football developments. Any changes for you and how you're approaching the Chicago Bears with Luther Burton uh
50:01dealing with a groin injury? They said he'll be back for week one. Should we treat this as everything as normal?
50:07Should we bump some guys up or should we just draft sort of as we were doing in the middle of July?
50:13>> Yeah, I So, I I can't answer this question. I'm not an injury expert.
50:16Luckily, Fantasy Points has the best injury expert in the game, Jeff Mueller.
50:20Highly recommend everyone follow him.
50:22He's excellent. He's He's not really worried at all. And so, I'm not really worried at all. He's There was a video
50:27that was posted two days ago. Luther Burton looked looked good like spry even you know compared to how worried everyone was and yeah this is typically
50:37what uh you know 10 to 15 day injury and yeah we have plenty of time until week one.
50:45>> How about Indianapolis where last year they were the highest scoring offense in football for the first half of the year
50:51and a big part of what they do stylistically was Alec Pierce has led the NFL in yards per reception for consecutive seasons. Now, Pierce, the
51:00vibes could kind of not be worse. Um, he's missed all of OTAAS's and now all of training camp. We don't really know
51:07when he'll be back. Josh Downs a little bit banged up. What does this do to the Indianapolis Colts? Are you sort of
51:14trying to avoid Colts right now or do you think that maybe this a little bit overblown and guys like Taylor, guys
51:20like Warren are still appropriately priced?
51:24Well, if you if you looked at my rankings, you know, two months ago, I was very low on Alec Pierce, very high
51:29on Josh DS. Um, and it's because, yeah, there was this video of Alec Pierce where it like looked like his left calf
51:36was like 60% bigger than his right calf.
51:38And I'm like, you know, that's not great for a guy who, you know, is supposed to play this brand new role where he's, you
51:45know, not just a deep threat, which is what he's always been. Um, and yeah, it seemed like there was a real chance he
51:51might miss week one. And everything that's come out since then just further amplifies my belief in that. And so, yeah, it could theoretically set up um
52:00Tyler Warren and Josh DS, but I mean, Josh DS goes what, six rounds behind Tyler Warren. So, he seems like the
52:07better bet to me. And this is a player I've always been very high on, has always been one of my guys, was a a a
52:13major dynasty trade target for us this off season. Uh he he kind of reminds me of like Deontay Johnson Light a little
52:21bit. Um which by the way is a compliment if anyone was a big Deontay guy. But yeah, over the last two seasons, Josh
52:28Downs ranks 12th in targets per route run. And on plays with Michael Pitman off the field, he jumps to 0.31 targets
52:37per route run, which would rank behind only Puka Nua. That's elite. This guy might be a highest end target earner.
52:43What's been holding him back? It's well Indianapolis plays a lot of heavy personnel and he's not on the field in heavy personnel. He's a tiny slot wide
52:51receiver. He's just an 11 personnel, three wide receiver set only guy. Uh but what you're hearing this year is no, no,
52:58no, he's playing in heavy personnel and like we have no choice because Alec Pierce is banged up and Ashton Doulan's the only other wide receiver we've got.
53:07And so I thought this was a great stat, Theo, is so over the last two years in games he's played on at least twothirds
53:15of the team snaps, he averages 8.6 targets per game, 15.6 fantasy points per game. Those are both top 10 numbers.
53:24And then, wait for it, wait for it. The quarterbacks in those games were three games with Anthony Richardson who sucks, three games with a 39year-old Joe
53:34Flacco, two games with a literal grandfather, Philip Rivers, and just one game with Daniel Jones. So, if this guy is going to be playing over twothirds of
53:43the snaps every single week, which is the expectation, with a legitimate upgrade in quarterback play, yeah, this this might be one of the most mispriced
53:52guys in all of drafts.
53:54We could call him arbitrage Parker Washington. Discount Parker Washington perhaps.
53:58>> That's not a bad one.
53:59>> There we go.
54:00>> That's not a bad one.
54:00>> We'll workshop it. We'll workshop it.
54:03Stfan Diggs signs with the Washington Commanders. Are you elevating the offense? And I know people offensive line people in the comments. Larry
54:10Tonsil dealing with tricep injury. But Stfan Diggs, what does he do for this offense? Is this a piece larger scenario where potentially things are better for
54:20Terry McLaren or does this cap Terry McLaren ceiling and is Jaden Daniels just so set to have a smash year?
54:28>> Yeah, I think it's a big year for Jaden Daniels having top three in my ranks. I I I don't know if this like doesn't
54:34impact Terry McLaren or if I just baked it in. when I when I released my draft guide, I said, "Hey, my rankings are
54:40assuming assuming that Stfan Diggs goes to Washington." And um yeah, I still like Terry McLaren. It's weird. A lot of people have really soured on him after
54:51this Stavon Diggs signing. And I like Stfan Diggs. He I I ripped off a hot take right when the Patriots got AJ
54:59Brown. I don't know if you remember, I was like, "Hey, there's a really good chance the Patriots regret this where they this is like a downgrade if AJ
55:05Brown's knees are are are shot and they are paying him three times as much plus a round one draft pick because Stefan
55:12Diggs last year had exactly as many 100yard games as AJ Brown and and was better in yards per route run. He was
55:19top seven in yards per route run. So, I I I like Stefon Diggs, but yeah, I don't I don't get the why everyone's souring
55:27on on Terry McLuren. He's really good and he's been amazing with Jaden Daniels. Last year, you know, he play he he held out and so he's out of shape. He
55:36immediately gets hurt, but from week two on, he was the third best wide receiver by yards per route run. Uh it's just he
55:43kept getting knocked out of games early and was on a limited route share. And then the year before that, he was
55:48awesome. He he was the wide receiver seven by total fantasy points uh but ranked just 19th in total targets which is a which is a Cliff Kingsbury thing
55:58like it's really hard to be a Cliff Kingsbury wide receiver one he doesn't put you in the slot you're just out
56:03there on an island aligned to the quarterback's left um but certainly hyper efficiency like I said wide receiver seven in fantasy points wide
56:11receiver 19 in total targets but I think we see a major uptick in target volume for Terry McLuren this here. I think
56:19this was the quote of the offseason and everyone missed it. David Blau, when he was announced as the offensive coordinator for the Washington
56:26Commanders, uh they said, "What can you tell us about our offense?" And quote unquote, direct quote, word for word, he said, first words out of his mouth,
56:36"This thing is going to be built around how can we get Terry McLuren 10 targets per game." And so what comparison to
56:442024 uh he finished wide receiver seven by total fantasy points. Now he's getting a 50% increase in total targets.
56:51And if you're doing projections you can be bullish on Stefon Diggs and still have Terry McLuren coming close to that although he's not priced like it in the
57:01slightest.
57:02>> What you mentioned David Blau what new play caller are you most excited about?
57:08And let's take Mike McDaniel out of the equation here. You can't say Mike McDaniel because everybody's saying Mike McDaniel.
57:16>> Well, I was going to say Mike McDaniel, so now I don't know who to say.
57:19>> Okay. So then make your bull case for Mike McDaniel. Is this a one-year run in LA before he's a head coach again? How
57:25good can this offense be?
57:29>> So I I went to New Jersey for a wedding and when I touched down, the first thing I did was I bet Justin Herbert to win
57:36MVP and I bet the Chargers to win the Super Bowl. I'm a big believer in Mike McDaniel. Um, by the way, I would change
57:43it today. I would I would switch to Trevor Lawrence, but Justin Herbert's still way up there. Um, but I actually think we might be overrating it a little
57:50bit from a a fantasy perspective. On one hand, it's hey, read Ryan Heath's anatomy of a league winner. You know that the most important thing is you
58:01want, you know, where do league winners reside? They come from Mc Shanahan offenses. the the Kyle Shanahan, the Shawn McVey, the Mike McDaniel offenses,
58:10and it's great for a quarterback and this might be the best quarterback a Mc Shanahan system has ever had. And so
58:17like really bullish on the hyperefficiency.
58:21Um, but I do kind of worry about like the slow paced. The Dolphins were like dead last in plays per game. We know
58:29Harbaugh is still the head coach. He really wants to pound the rock. He was pissed he threw it so much last year. Um
58:37and and yeah, so and and he there's talk about a committee backfield. I know you're you're the world's biggest Omar and Hampton guy. Um but you know,
58:47if you listen to McDaniel and you trust him, and maybe we shouldn't, but he he's talking about a three-way committee, which would certainly be gross. And so I
58:54think there's a chance it's like a little overrated from from a fantasy perspective. I'm actually not that bullish on Lad Maki. Um, but certainly
59:02from a real life NFL perspective and the Chargers Super Bowl odds, I I really like it.
59:07>> Yeah. I mean, all the tertiary weapons there's good vibes on. And I think the fact that he's talking up all the other
59:13running backs means they're actually playing well and he has a plan. I do think that if Scott Barrett's MVP uh win
59:20for Justin Herbert comes into fruition, then it means the offense scores a ton of points and wins a lot of games. If
59:27Chargers win a lot of games and they score a lot of points, Omarian Hampton's going to deliver because he's the best
59:32bet to fall in the end zone a number of times. Um, and I've heard Mike McDaniel in the past also saying wonderful things
59:39about Ali Gordon, saying really nice things about Jaylen Wright. I think he likes sort of messing with us a little bit. Um, so I'm fine with the we talked
59:47about running backs earlier. If you want to take Chase Brown and Devon Achan and guys like that ahead of Omarian Hampton,
59:53we're not going to argue with you. But just crossing him off your list because Mike McDaniel said he likes the other
59:58running backs, that's sort of a scared way to play the game. Um, Scott, if you could know the final stats of any player
60:04this season, who would it be?
60:08>> Um, I don't know, but I'll tell you what. I asked the same question to our projections guy Chris Wet a week ago and
60:17uh Fantasy Points had the best projections in the industry last year or at least the the highest correlation to actual results with our DFS projections
60:25and dude Chris is like an absolute genius and he said his answers were Parker Washington, Luther Burton, Malik
60:34Willis, Marvin Harrison Jr. Devont Smith, Tucker Craft, and a Washington Commander running back. I think that's a really good list. I think I think
60:45certainly if I um read the show sheet you sent me and actually put some time into this question, I I probably would
60:51have picked a lot of the same guys.
60:54>> I think it's a really interesting list.
60:55Um Marvin Harrison Jr. is a really fun one because we would learn a lot about Michael Wilson. We'd learn a lot about
61:01Trey McBride potentially even. Um and we'd learn about Marvin Harrison Jr. has sort of been this sort of enigma to >> that was the one uh that was the one I I
61:10replied with. Uh yeah, I already know uh the that one. It's going to be bad.
61:15>> Tucker Craft's a really fun one because it's sort of how many games can he play if he stays healthy the whole year. We
61:21saw how good he was. Scott, we had him on multiple FFPC teams that were looking amazing and we still cashed we still
61:28cashed in a couple >> Craft and Cam Scataboo and uh all the guys last year, but we still we still did well. We we we're profitable every
61:36single year. We'll look to do it again this year. Uh Scott, you're always talking about like advanced metrics. You know, fantasy points data is awesome. I
61:44still use it here at Rotoire. Like let's let's pick one wide receiver metric or stat or analytical uh reference that you
61:53like to look at. I know Ryan Heath talked about like first downs per route run and then give me one that you look
61:58at when you're looking at running backs.
62:00Give us like two advanced metrics that you sort of like.
62:03>> Yeah. So, so for quarterback, the best most predictive stat is fantasy points per drop back. The quarterback position very much more efficiency than volume.
62:12Uh, for the running back position, if I had a pick, it's honestly snaps, like raw snaps or snap snaps per game or snap
62:19share. You want guys on the field, you want every down running backs. And then for a wide receiver, yeah, I think Ryan
62:26Heath nailed it. I think it's first down per route run. I think AS is really good, too. But that one, you know,
62:32typically requires a little bit more context. Um, but like I said, it's it's the most predictive nonprouction wide receiver metric in the game. So, it's a
62:41it's a really good one for tight ends.
62:43>> Um, >> it's got to be routes run period because of the rich rebar stat, right?
62:49>> Yeah.
62:50>> How many years?
62:52>> Yeah.
62:52>> I I what I do in the everything report the first five weeks is a blend of route share and target share. And that's
62:58always worked well for me.
63:00>> I believe and and don't quote me on this one, but I think it's it's four straight seasons that the tight end won overall,
63:06just ran the most routes.
63:08>> Yeah. And and this is again Rich Reebar.
63:10Training the bride last year basically ran 22 games worth of routes versus any other tight end's 17 at most.
63:19>> Unbelievable stuff. We're talking about Rich Reebar even when he's not here because he's just such a goat. But Scott, he's the man. I tweeted it out
63:27yesterday. I think he's the best fantasy analyst in the game, not currently employed at Fantasy Points. Otherwise, that's Ryan Heath >> or yourself, king of YouTube. Yeah.
63:38>> There you go. There you go. There you go.
63:39>> So, so former and current Fantasy Points uh employees. How about that?
63:44>> There you go. The diaspora of Fantasy Points. There you go. There you go.
63:47Scott, what do you have going on rest of August? Uh what do you have going on beginning of the year? You mentioned
63:52School of Scott. What else should people look for?
63:55Uh yeah, fantasypoints.com, data.fantasypoints.com.
64:00Uh if you dig this, you could listen to the school of scott podcast. You can head on over to our YouTube
64:05fantasypoints.
64:07Um we did a live draft, FFPC live draft.
64:10People love that, Theo. So if you want to watch that, I think that can be very entertaining for you.
64:16>> No, for sure. Yeah, highly recommend all of Scott's work. Enjoy our friendship and enjoy being able to bounce off fantasy ideas on you, Scott. I'll
64:22continue to uh do that. and look for Scott over here. We're going to be drafting FFPC main event and I'll be
64:28back over at the Fantasy Points YouTube channel. Drafting a main event over there and the Rich Rebar one. We're still fighting it out. That'll either be
64:36here or at Fantasy Points YouTube. We're going to do a 350 with Rich. Highly recommend Scott. Highly recommend Fantasy Points. And stick with us here
