He averaged 84.1 yards per game, while no one else pictured cleared 48 YPG. Only WR with a slot rate under 17% to average more than 80 YPG from 2023 to 2025. Pickens will play on the franchise tag and was the WR6 on WR12 usage last season with CeeDee Lamb missing time. In 13 games with Lamb active, Pickens averaged 77 yards per game en route to a WR10 per-game average on WR13 usage; his targets with Lamb active had a 63% success rate (WR4), because they come when Lamb is getting the shaded coverage on the other side and one-on-one to Pickens is as good as it gets. Pickens has just as much upside as Drake London types in Round 2 if something happens to Lamb again or if Pickens is just undeniably great. He's improved on film every year and is 25 years old while playing in a contract year, which should incentivize peak performance. However, Pickens will not be as consistent as Drake London types in Round 2 because he lacks screens and fewer gimme targets. Dallas didn't add anyone on offense this offseason and is running back the same staff and starters around him, limiting upside growth.

1) Still love this 2022 class of WRs. So many awesome players. 2) Love the idea of Year 5 being the peak of their powers for WRs and this class in their 4th season were a real good example case for this. I would argue that several guys like Pickens, Olave, Pierce, London, Doubs, Watson and probably more were easily the best versions of themselves in isolation in Year 4. Pickens signed his franchise tag and showed up to everything; the source expects him to play out the season despite wanting a contract beyond this year. If he unexpectedly held out, he would drop from the back end of wide receiver one tier (alongside Nico Collins) to the T. Higgins tier (15s-16s), enough to knock him down a tier but not much further. First year with the team last year, clicked immediately, so not too concerned for the entire season.
