Insight page

Bryce Young

PositiveProjection31:13

Bryce Young showed significant improvement in Week 1, displaying accuracy and mobility. The source suggests he could potentially reach 3,800-4,000 passing yards this season.

Insight page

Bucky Irving

PositiveBreakout25:48

Bucky Irving is a major winner after a 62% snap rate performance, recording 20 PPR points, 7 catches, and showing elite efficiency with 4 yards after contact per rush and 5 forced missed tackles.

Insight page

Carson Wentz

NegativeValue32:17

Carson Wentz is noted as being 1% rostered.

Insight page

CeeDee Lamb

PositiveValue16:48

Despite a modest 44-yard performance, CeeDee Lamb remains a strong buy-low candidate as the Cowboys' offense is expected to improve after a game script that limited their total possessions.

Insight page

Chris Godwin

NegativeUsage36:36

Chris Godwin was a major disappointment in Week 1, recording only four targets and three air yards.

Insight page

Christian McCaffrey

NegativeUsage55:35

Despite some concerns about soreness and the potential for Keilan Black to steal goal-line touches, the source is not worried about Christian McCaffrey. The source believes the 49ers' offense looks like a high-functioning machine and that McCaffrey still possesses significant juice.

Insight page
NegativeUsage57:00

The source notes that Christian McCaffrey looked good and retained his 'juice' despite concerns about soreness. The team appears to be using him more selectively to avoid him taking a beating, which could be a positive development for his long-term health.

Insight page

Chuba Hubbard

PositiveRole63:38

Chuba Hubbard dominated snaps and touches in Week 1, recording 10 carries for 49 yards and a touchdown, plus three catches for 38 yards and a score. The source views this as Hubbard's backfield for now, as the team prefers a lead-back approach and Jonathan Brooks is not yet fully integrated.

Insight page

Colston Loveland

NegativeProjection2:06

Despite a zero-point performance in Week 1, the source remains unconcerned about Loveland's long-term outlook, noting that the Giants' offensive flow will fluctuate and he remains a preferred rest-of-season option over Isaiah Likely for many fantasy managers.

Insight page
PositiveValue40:43

Despite a zero-catch performance in Week 1, the source remains highly optimistic about Colston Loveland, labeling him a 'phenomenal buy-low' candidate. The source argues he is more talented than Sam LaPorta and is tied to an elite, high-scoring Bears offense, noting that his lack of production was due to defensive focus and missed opportunities rather than a lack of talent or role.

Insight page

Dak Prescott

PositiveProjection16:58

Dak Prescott ranked fourth in EPA per dropback in Week 1, suggesting his performance was strong despite the Cowboys' limited offensive possessions.

Insight page

Dalton Kincaid

PositiveBreakout27:27

Dalton Kincaid is a clear-cut second option in the Bills' passing game, evidenced by a 77% snap rate and a 130-yard performance against Houston. He is viewed as an unstoppable mismatch in the intermediate areas.

Insight page

Davante Adams

NegativeUsage46:57

The source expresses concern regarding Davante Adams, specifically highlighting his lack of a clear red zone role as a potential red flag for his fantasy outlook.

Insight page

De'Von Achane

NegativeUsage57:49

The source expresses concern regarding De'Von Achane following a poor Week 1 performance for the Miami offense. While the team attempted to design receiving touches for him, the overall offensive output was inconsistent and bumpy, leading to doubts about his reliability for the rest of the season.

Insight page

Deshaun Watson

NegativeRole30:37

The Browns' coaching staff has not committed to Deshaun Watson as the starter moving forward, and he has struggled significantly with EPA over the last two years.

Insight page

Devin Singletary

PositiveUsage5:48

Devin Singletary benefited from the Giants' offensive design, receiving check-down targets when defenses shaded coverage toward Malik Nabers.

Insight page

Drake London

NegativeUsage53:17

The source is nervous about Drake London's fantasy outlook, citing a lack of creative usage and design in the offense. The source explicitly states they will not start London as long as Cooper Rush is the quarterback.

Insight page

Dylan Sampson

NegativeInjury19:38

Dylan Sampson left the game in the first quarter due to an injury.

Insight page

George Pickens

NegativeUsage17:13

George Pickens struggled with two drops and had potential big plays negated by pass interference penalties, contributing to a frustrating Week 1.

Insight page

Isaiah Likely

PositiveBreakout11:52

Isaiah Likely impressed with 8 catches, 78 yards, and 2 touchdowns, showing elite body control and reliable hands. While his route participation (two-thirds of routes) was lower than top-tier tight ends, his efficiency (34% target per route run) makes him a high-upside asset.

Insight page

Ja'Marr Chase

NegativeProjection36:52

Ja'Marr Chase may be playing through a lingering knee injury, which could explain his underwhelming Week 1 performance despite being open on certain plays.

Insight page

Jacory Croskey-Merritt

NegativeUsage19:49

Ja'Cory Krosky-Merritt fumbled late in the game and was subsequently removed from the rotation.

Insight page

Jahmyr Gibbs

PositiveUsage38:14

Jahmyr Gibbs had a massive Week 1, recording 34 touches, 180 scrimmage yards, and eight of the Lions' 14 red-zone touches.

Insight page
PositiveProjection38:40

Jahmyr Gibbs is poised for a massive season, with the source comparing his potential trajectory to prime Jamaal Charles or Christian McCaffrey's elite production. Despite a high 29-carry workload that the source finds concerning for his frame, Gibbs demonstrated elite usage with 34 total touches, 180 scrimmage yards, and eight of the Lions' 14 red zone touches.

Insight page

Jalen Coker

PositiveBreakout2:06

Jalen Coker is highlighted as having a big day in Week 1, marking him as a player of interest following his performance.

Insight page
PositiveBreakout28:14

Jalen Coker is highly productive, recording 272 yards and three touchdowns with a 30% target share over his last two games. Matt Harmon's reception perception charting compares his potential impact to Chris Godwin's role alongside Mike Evans.

Insight page

Jaylen Warren

NegativeUsage50:03

Jalen Warren's role is in question after Rico Dowdle played more snaps and served as the primary third-down back in Week 1. The source is uncertain about the Steelers' backfield hierarchy and notes that the offense struggled to move the ball despite a favorable matchup.

Insight page

Jonathon Brooks

NegativeDepth Chart64:26

Jonathan Brooks is currently serving as a change-of-pace back behind Chuba Hubbard. The source notes he did not see the field until the third drive and is not yet fully integrated into the offense, likely due to health or the team's preference for a single lead back.

Insight page

Josh Downs

PositiveUsage32:45

Josh Downs was a disappointment in Week 1, running 94% of routes but managing only a 12.5% target per route run rate.

Insight page

Justin Herbert

NegativeProjection60:33

The source expresses concern that the Chargers' offense could be poor all year if Justin Herbert continues to struggle. Herbert had an 11.1% off-target rate in Week 1 and appeared uncomfortable, missing open receivers and struggling with accuracy.

Insight page

Kalif Raymond

NegativeUsage42:53

Kalif Raymond saw significant usage with nine targets in Week 1, which the source attributes to defenses gravitating toward Colston Loveland and Rome Odunze, leaving the middle of the field open for Raymond.

Insight page

Kyle Pitts

NegativeUsage53:29

Similar to Drake London, the source is concerned about Kyle Pitts due to a lack of offensive design and the current quarterback situation, noting that there is very little intent to get him the ball.

Insight page

Kyler Murray

NegativeInjury32:15

Kyler Murray has sustained a concussion.

Insight page

Ladd McConkey

PositiveUsage60:40

Ladd McConkey was a bright spot for the Chargers, producing five of their eight receiving first downs and being the only player consistently getting open. The source notes that Justin Herbert's yards per attempt were significantly higher (10.3 vs 5.4) when McConkey was on the field.

Insight page

Malik Nabers

PositiveUsage3:25

Malik Nabers was a focal point of the Giants' offense, drawing double teams and shaded coverage in the second half, which allowed the team to utilize check-downs to Devin Singletary.

Insight page

Malik Willis

NegativeProjection58:24

The source is nervous about Malik Willis, noting that while there were flashes of potential, his performance was inconsistent and bumpy. His time-to-throw metrics were high, and there is skepticism about whether he can sustain success.

Insight page

Mike Evans

NegativeUsage56:46

The source is not worried about Mike Evans, noting that he was used in a methodical, chain-moving role in Week 1. The source believes Evans still has the ability to stretch the field and remains a key part of a productive offense.

Insight page

Parker Washington

PositiveUsage26:02

Parker Washington is benefiting from the Jaguars' offensive scheme, staying on the field in one-receiver sets and dominating slot snaps. Before the game turned into a blowout, he commanded a 29% target share and 46% of the air yards.

Insight page

Puka Nacua

NegativeUsage27:06

In goal-to-go situations, Puka Nakua was on the field for 13 personnel packages, a role previously dominated by Davante Adams last season, signaling a potential shift in red-zone usage.

Insight page

Quinshon Judkins

NegativeUsage19:42

Despite Dylan Sampson's injury, the team did not utilize Quinchon Judkins as the primary third-down back, opting for Raheem Sanders instead.

Insight page
NegativeUsage47:31

The source is worried about Quinshon Judkins, noting that his split backfield role on a struggling offense mirrors his previous season. While he may have some schedule-dependent value, the source views him as a 'trap' player who is better suited for best-ball formats than weekly redraft lineups.

Insight page

Rico Dowdle

NegativeUsage50:15

Rico Dowdle saw more playing time than Jalen Warren in Week 1 and operated as the third-down back, though the source remains skeptical of his long-term efficiency and overall talent level.

Insight page

Rome Odunze

NegativeUsage32:25

Rome Odunze played only 48% of snaps in Week 1, likely due to an injury.

Insight page

Saquon Barkley

NegativeUsage35:40

Saquon Barkley recorded 83 rushing yards in Week 1, with 82 of those yards coming after contact, suggesting issues with the Eagles' offensive line.

Insight page
NegativeUsage54:28

The source is concerned about Saquon Barkley and the Eagles' offense, which ranked last in pass success rate in Week 1. The lack of play-action usage and overall offensive stagnation in a soft matchup are noted as red flags.

Insight page

Taylen Green

PositiveSleeper30:51

The source expresses a desire to see Taylon Green get an opportunity, suggesting he could create more offense than the current Browns quarterbacks.

Insight page

Terry McLaurin

NegativeUsage33:00

Terry McLaurin's usage was not the focal point of the offense as expected. He saw a 29% slot rate, which is high for him, but he was not used in motion.

Insight page
NegativeUsage47:09

The source is worried about Terry McLaurin, citing concerns about the overall offense and the emergence of Antonio Williams as a target competitor in the short-area passing game.

Insight page

Travis Etienne

NegativeUsage49:29

The source is concerned about Travis Etienne's role, noting that he is not being used as the 'locked-in bell cow' expected by drafters. The involvement of Kendre Miller in the red zone and the team's overall offensive struggles have created significant anxiety regarding his fantasy floor.

Insight page

Tyrone Tracy

NegativeUsage8:17

Tyrone Tracy was benched for the remainder of the game after losing a fumble, indicating a short leash in the Giants' backfield.

Insight page

Zay Flowers

NegativeInjury20:07

Zay Flowers suffered a hamstring injury, but the source notes it is not considered serious.

0:20Welcome to the Monday edition, the week one recap of Beyond the Box Score here in the Fantasy Football Today feed.
0:26Adam Azer, Dan Schneier and Jacob Gibbs. And congratulations to Dan and Jacob for growing Beyond the Box Score, the separate YouTube channel and podcast so much.
0:33You guys are killing it! And I'm excited to do this with you here in 2026.
0:38Jacob, what's going on? You started the Beyond the Box Score party, man.
0:42You ain't crashing the... Exactly. Is that true? I guess that's...
0:45You can't crash a party that you started. Where are you?
0:48Where are you? Where are you? Oh, you didn't hear about...
0:51Yeah, I got issues. I got issues going on in my life.
0:54Moving and I'm not even anywhere close to setting up.
0:57Moving during the first week of the NFL season was a lot of fun.
1:01Not... And the reality is, I'm not set up yet.
1:04So I just was happy to get enough done from an internet standpoint and have anything here.
1:09So the background is going to be bad for at minimum a week.
1:12I won't be touching this until at least the weekend.
1:15Wow. Dan said... Dan did a not joke. Wow.
1:18That's such a bad not joke. That joke was fat.
1:21P-H-A-T. Let's... What's important is the audio sounds good.
1:23That's what's important. Sounds great. Sounds great. Yeah. All right.
1:26Anyway, today on the show, Colston Loveland's dud. Jalen Coker's big day.
1:29Players that we're worried about. Players that we're not worried about.
1:33How do we feel about Jamar Chase and Baker Mayfield and many, many more.
1:37Start out though with the Giants and the Cowboys.
1:3928-20 Giants. They had the ball for 36 minutes and 40 seconds.
1:43They had the ball for 21 minutes and 33 seconds in the second half.
1:46Yeah. Insane. Also, credit to Giants all you want.
1:49I can't help but bring up they fumbled four times and only lost one of them.
1:54That's how the ball bounces some weeks. Some weeks got pretty lucky.
1:57Only one explosive play in the entire game. That's a play of 20 or more yards.
2:01Do you remember what it was? It was a 17-yarder to Mooney.
2:05That wasn't it. I think there was a 19-yarder to Neighbors.
2:08That wasn't it. The likely touchdown was only 16.
2:11There were a lot of 16, 17s. What was the 20-plus?
2:14Wow. I should know. Dart run. Dart run. Oh, it was the dart run.
2:18I was going to get there. The 22-yard dart run.
2:20I was going to get there. Sorry. Same time as you thought slightly before you.
2:25Yeah, I love it. All right. Let's start with the Giants, Dan.
2:28I'm sure you've broken down the tape six times today.
2:31What are you seeing against the team that was one of the worst, if not the worst defense in football last year,
2:37but they made some improvements and it didn't matter.
2:40They got sliced up by this Giants juggernaut. Well, listen, they were supposed to be one of the most improved events in the NFL.
2:47The Cowboys will find out throughout the rest of the season.
2:50What's actually true and what's not true here. Are the Cowboys still just one of the worst defense in the NFL or
2:56the Giants going to be a much better offense than people think?
2:59And the reason I asked that question is this.
3:02The Giants came into this game with a lot of skepticism surrounding the Matt Nagy era of Giants football.
3:07And I got to say this from watching the tape.
3:10And this was true of both the tape and the broadcast angle.
3:13Matt Nagy cooked. He really, really cooked last night.
3:16I'm not just talking about the red zone TD that looks so awesome.
3:20And so chiefs ask with Travis Kelsey, I'm talking about pre snap second and long.
3:24He comes out in 22 personnel with a fullback or running back to tight ends and one receiver in the bunch for
3:30me in a, in a tight formation, making it look like an obvious run.
3:34And then the red zone, boom shifts to shotgun gets an easy in breaker one on one for neighbors to set up
3:40the third touchdown all throughout the night. He was countering everything that Dallas was doing when Dallas overplayed Malik neighbors toward the
3:47end of the game and start to shade coverage and double team neighbors in the second half.
3:51He took the free access plays on the checks down to Devin Singletary, and he had designs for Jackson dart every single
3:58step of the way that kept him in full command of the offense and throwing the ball on time and accurately.
4:04He used multiple personnel groupings. He found matchups that win, and that was just a phenomenal performance from Matt Nagy and the entire giants offense.
4:11Jackson dart was number one in EPA per drop back among all quarterbacks by far in week one.
4:16They barely had a single play that didn't work.
4:18Dart missed one throw all game toward the end of the game neighbors on the out and then immediately made up for
4:25it with a pass on third and nine to Isaiah likely it was phenomenal stuff all around.
4:29I don't know how I could not how anyone could not be excited about Matt Nagy after that and this Greg Roman
4:36run scheme that is creating tons of room and space up front giants average over five yards per carry design quarterback runs in there as well.
4:43We're uber efficient in the red zone. They basically played a perfect game on offense.
4:47Honestly, it's hard to it's hard to dispute that Jacob except for the three fumbles or was the four fumbles that they
4:53had, but I say yeah besides that yeah four fumbles lost one of them.
4:57And I don't think Tyrone Tracy. I don't know if he saw the field after his fumble was lost.
5:03He did not. He did not play another snap.
5:05Yeah, but Jacob. It was great and the Cowboys.
5:08They still I don't think they have a pass rush.
5:11Their defense is only going to get worse. Malik hookers going to miss a lot of time over shown left in the
5:17fourth quarter with an injury, but what do you think of the Giants?
5:21Are you buying it? We've got the Rams next with no miles Garrett.
5:24So another opportunity I think to see them potentially play well.
5:27We'll see. I thought that the defense was really bad from Dallas, but definitely a lot of this credit does belong to New York.
5:34I'm really curious how this will work going forward as teams get more and more film on them because it was kind
5:40of a it was a weird offense. Dan would you like say like it wasn't it was not a traditional office.
5:46It was like a mix of it reminded me of the Greg Roman offense a lot.
5:51And we've seen at times teams kind of like get figured out some of the stuff that just like worked so well
5:57where they're overloading and like like the dart run where they fake that motion in the right and got all the defense like over on that side.
6:05I don't know if they're going to be able to keep getting away with that, but as far as the drop back game, I was encouraged.
6:12That's the I mean the the run game was obvious really really successful run game for the Giants.
6:17Both teams ran the ball well actually, but the drop back game was what encouraged me is the dart was patient.
6:23I thought and read things out. Well made the right reads pretty much throughout the whole game, which we've seen glimpses of
6:29but I think people really have criticized dart a lot as a passer and a lot of people just don't believe in dart.
6:36Um and his ability to operate an actual drop back game and Dan and I have like continuing to pound the table
6:42like I think there's at your at least there's at least a chance you should leave it open that he could progress in this way.
6:49And as far as your one year two leaps as like a pure quarterback, I thought that was really really encouraging start for him.
6:56So I want to see more of that. Yeah, and let's take a look at this Twitter poll that I did last
7:02night in the heat of the moment. See how people felt.
7:05Who would you rather have rest of season in PPR Colston Loveland with his zero fantasy points or Isaiah likely with what
7:12did he have like 27 or something. Um, and if 55% 56% said Loveland 44% said Isaiah likely who had eight catches
7:1878 yards and two touchdowns on eight targets. Is this a tough one for you guys Colston Loveland versus Isaiah likely rest of season.
7:25I mean, I think we were both really in on likely to like one of my bold takes week one was a
7:31likely was going to have 30 points. Um, so I think I just feel good about it.
7:36I think I just feel good about it and Loveland.
7:38Yeah, we're not worried about level. We'll talk about him.
7:41I would still take Loveland. They're going to be games where it doesn't flow as easily for the as it did for the Giants in this game.
7:49Jacob brought up a good point. What about when teams adjust to what they're doing a little bit?
7:54Um, I'll say this though. Likely really impressed me.
7:57I was aware based on his Ravens tape of his ability to create separation as a mismatch and then what he could
8:03do post catch in addition to kind of like some high points of the football.
8:07But that second, that first touchdown he had was a crazy body control catch where he flipped his hips completely, turned his
8:13body around high point the football and then toe tap both feet in.
8:17And then he had a few other catches, including the final one on third and three down the stretch.
8:22We really plucked the football reached fully extended and made a really difficult catch through the catch point almost through the ground.
8:29Twice he did that in the second half. His hands looked so much better than I was aware of.
8:34He's really good. Really good player. Yeah. I said this before the season.
8:38We were like, he's in the mat. He's in the man.
8:41Agu. Rashid Rice role. And I'm like, yeah, that's awesome.
8:44Like a better version of Rashid Rice gets to run this play this role.
8:48Right. We kind of laughed about it, but it's like, he's actually really good.
8:52Like, I don't think he's quite as good after the catches rise, but as a receiver, he's one of the best receiving
8:58tight ends you're going to find in the league right now.
9:01I'm kind of surprised. He only ran, yeah, speed it up.
9:04He only ran two thirds of the routes, which is low.
9:07No top eight tight end on a per game basis last year ran that few.
9:11The lowest for any top eight tight end in terms of route participation rate when they were playing, not full season, was Harold Fannin Jr.
9:1871.3%. That included the game where he left in the first quarter, I believe.
9:22And it was much, much, and he was tight at eight per game.
9:26So if you look at the top seven tight ends per game, none of them were below 75.2%.
9:31And that was Tucker Kraft. And he left the game injured.
9:34So I, you know, he's, I say likely had a 34% target per out run rate.
9:39We'll see how things unfold. But there's another guy, him, he and Dalton Kincaid, they ran two thirds of the routes.
9:45That was really good for Kincaid. Not as not what I expected from likely.
9:49They probably need to run more of that to be impactful week after week.
9:53Giants will have a much stiffer test with the Rams next week, even though Myles Garrett is not playing.
9:58I assume Aaron Donald will play on the Cowboys side of the ball.
10:02I can't think of a better by low team.
10:04I think, I mean, you can't really say it about Javante, I suppose.
10:08And Lamb had the touchdown, but he only had 44 yards.
10:11But I mean, they're obviously, I don't see any reason why they wouldn't get things figured out.
10:16It's the same coaching staff. It's the same players.
10:18They didn't really not figure anything out. They were Dak was fourth in EPA per drop back.
10:23They just got a ton of penalty yards and didn't get touched the ball.
10:27Like they had no possessions. They had two possessions the whole second half.
10:31How insane is that? And Pickens had two drops.
10:34And also they, they, they got a bunch of, they got at least two pass interference calls that, you know, Pickens had like 40 yard play potentially.
10:41That was ended up being a DPI. Two, right?
10:44They had like eight of those. They had like eight of those.
10:47Yeah, whatever it was. So I don't know. I mean, I don't want to, I don't want to just like skip over
10:53the Cowboys, but can we agree better times are ahead?
10:56They should be fine. Yeah. If someone's willing to, if you can trade for them, go get them.
11:01Yeah. I think my only issue would be they have a, they have a fairly tough early season schedule.
11:07Washington in week two, Washington was really good up front rushing the passer, but still that should be fine.
11:12Baltimore. Maybe they're good. They played well yesterday. Houston, Tampa Bay at Green Bay at Philadelphia.
11:17Philadelphia. There's some tough matchups there, but the Cowboys are the Cowboys.
11:20I almost feel like the fact that their defense looks so bad in week one is a good sign to it could
11:26look like more of last year's game scripts. A hundred percent.
11:29And they got two major injuries. One, one major, two injuries to major players.
11:33One of them, a major injury. All right. I, uh, scatter, scatter, boob, by, by sell, hold scatter, boob did not have
11:39a catch was not their third down back score to touchdown.
11:43Good game. It curious where you're at with this one, Jacob.
11:46First. First. Oh, I wanted to leave it to you.
11:49Just knowing the giants more intimately. I felt like a lot of those Devin Singletary looks could have been him and could be him in the future.
11:56I thought overall it was really encouraging. They were able to run the ball so well.
12:01We know he has a receiving skillset, so it wouldn't be surprised to see that built out in time, but I definitely
12:07want to hear your opinion on it. So I'll start by just saying this.
12:11It's great to see, you know, he was back for the start of training camp, got the first rep, whatever, but no
12:17one knew if he'd still have that lateral agility and burst that made him special as a year one back.
12:23And at Arizona State, when he forced a hundred miss plus missed tackles in a season, it was back.
12:28It was there. The vision, the pacing behind the line of scrimmage as a runner.
12:32He looked just the same as last year. So that to me was encouraging and he's still their red zone hammer.
12:38I would like to see his past game real expanded.
12:41This was a little disappointing to be honest, not just the role, just the fact that like every third down was Singletary.
12:47It felt like in last year, there was a concerted effort to get him the football as a receiver because he's a good route runner as a receiver.
12:55So I am a tiny bit concerned by that, but I don't think it ultimately will matter because this is a dude
13:02who, if healthy, is one of the closer locks we have in the NFL to 10 plus touchdowns.
13:07Yeah. All right. I think he might struggle in week two, but we'll see at the Rams.
13:12If the Giants get into a bad game script, we'll see what that means for Scadaboo.
13:16Beyond the Box score. Jacob, give me a 20 second promo for Beyond the Box score.
13:21We got everything you need. Rest of season rankings.
13:23We got rises and fallers coming up. Dan and I do our signature show every Thursday.
13:28We've got hot takes. Theo Grimmagern from Rotowire is helping me out with that.
13:32And then at the end of the week, Ryan Heath and I will do league winners.
13:36Look at the players that we think are going to be the most impactful for getting you to the fantasy playoffs.
13:42Dan and I also do start sit to help you with matchups and all that good stuff.
13:47So everything you need. Seven episodes a week. Check us out.
13:50Excellent stuff. And I never know when Jacob is on the air.
13:53I just never know what his hair is going to look like.
13:57Sometimes it's really long. Sometimes it's super short. It's pretty curly right now.
14:01You just, you're like a man of many hairstyles.
14:03It's good for you. I don't have time to think about my hair right now, man.
14:08These are important things, Jacob. All right. Let's take a quick break.
14:11And when we come back, we're going to give you a couple of winners from the week.
14:16And all the things you've come to expect on Beyond the Box score.
14:19The snap counts that matter. The formations that matter.
14:22Under center versus shotgun. Reviewing the Bears-Panthers game, which had a ton of storylines.
14:26The Chargers offense and more after this. My companion for this summer season has been Z-Biotics.
14:31Let me tell you why. Just headed out to a concert at Pier 17.
14:34Howlmouth. What a show. I got home at 3 a.m.
14:37And I realized 8 a.m. tea time. What am I going to do?
14:41I got a big match. No worries at all.
14:44I took Z-Biotics the night before. Had a few drinks.
14:46Woke up the next day like nothing happened. Got to that course at 7 a.m.
14:51Warmed up and won my match. Z-Biotics pre-alcohol probiotic drink is the world's first genetically engineered probiotic.
14:55It was invented by PhD scientists to break down acetaldehyde, a byproduct of drinking alcohol.

15:44All right. So, Jacob, your big winner for week one, or one of them anyway, is Bucky Irving.
15:49Sorry. I'm just in awe. That was the most electric ad break I've ever seen.
15:54I'm the biggest winner here because I got to sit and watch that while I relaxed and took a freaking drink of water.
16:00Bucky Irving, yeah, 62% snap rate. When this guy has given – when they've given him a 60% snap rate or higher,
16:06he's averaged 17 fantasy points per game. He got 8 of 13 running back rushes.
16:10He got 2 touches inside the 10-yard line, finishes with 20 PPR points, led the team with 7 catches on 7 targets.
16:17And most encouragingly, he looked freaking awesome out there.
16:19He averaged almost 4 yards after contact per rush.
16:22He had 5 missed tackles forced. That's what he did his rookie season when he was going crazy in fantasy.
16:27Everybody remembers that's exactly who he was. We did not see that last year, whether that was his health, offensive line, whatever was going on there.
16:35He didn't look like the same player. And that was borne out in the statistics, but all of that bounced back to
16:41year 1, and I feel really, really good about Bucky going forward.
16:44And it's Dalton Kincaid, or is it Caleb Williams?
16:47Who are you going with, Dan? We'll go with Dalton Kincaid for this one.
16:51Yeah, he was somebody that moved up my draft board at the very end.
16:55Was not high enough. I think he finished as tight end 10 or 11 for me.
16:59Felt good about him going into the year because he was finally healthy.
17:03And what happens in his first healthy game in a long time, he kind of pays off what he was supposed to be.
17:10A first-round drafted capital guy who's an absolute mismatch from re-watching his snaps and his big catches.
17:155 for 130. He was pretty much an unstoppable force up the seam in the intermediate areas of the field as well.
17:21High pointed to make a really incredible catch at one point.
17:24130 receiving yards. 98 air yards. And 38 of those yards after the catch.
17:2838 to 130. 130. More importantly than anything else, a 77% snap rate, which is a massive sign given in the past.
17:34He's kind of played a much lesser role in this Bill's offense.
17:37I think they realize at this point, he's their clear-cut second best option in the passing game.
17:42And he has to be on the field for at least, let's say, 77% of the snaps moving forward.
17:48That's a really good sign with Josh Allen as his quarterback.
17:51And a run scheme that's going to create a lot of one-on-one looks for Kincaid.
17:55Pretty good stuff for Dalton Kincaid. And the fact that it happened against the Houston Texans is really impressive.
18:00They get the Detroit Lions. I mean, I think it's a Thursday game.
18:04Detroit and Buffalo should be a fun one to start off week two.
18:08Thank you guys for your winners. And thank you to Whoop for sponsoring this week's pulse-pounding performances.

18:37Okay, news and notes. Todd Monken, the Browns head coach.
18:39I think he's regretting it. He did not commit to Deshaun Watson starting going forward.
18:44We'll see what happens. I mean, it's obviously going to – there's going to be a change at some point, hopefully sooner rather than later, I think.
18:51Can we please see Taylon Green at some point?
18:54I think he's hurt, though. No, we don't want to see that.
18:57That would be so good. Oh, I want to see that.
19:00If you design the right scheme, you will create more offense with Taylon Green than you will with the others.
19:06He's not ready. Come on. Does he need to be?
19:09Sanders and Deshaun were 37th and 38th in EPA over the last two years.
19:13Dead last and second to last. Sanders at least will take some shots.
19:17No, he doesn't. Barely. Takes one or two a game and everything else he sits on.
19:21It's true. He's 37th in EPA. I know he was.
19:24Give him a little – he was a rookie, you know.
19:27Oh, yeah. He's better than Deshaun Watson. I guess.
19:30I don't think he's better than Deshaun, personally. No.
19:32Well, I don't know if Todd Monken might agree with you.
19:35Kyler Murray has a concussion. Carson Wentz, 1% rostered.
19:38Big game yesterday. Running back news, Dylan Sampson. Dylan Sampson left in the first quarter.
19:42They still didn't use Quinchon Judkins as the third down back.
19:45I think a little bit on third down, but they used Raheem Sanders there.
19:49Ja'Cory Krosky-Merritt fumbled and did not get back in after that.
19:52That was late in the game. We'll see if there are any ramifications.
19:56They're at Dallas next week. And Travion Henderson is going to practice today on Monday, so that's really good news.
20:02They have Pittsburgh this week. Wide receiver news. You know what?
20:05I'm just going to give the big headlines here.
20:07Zay Flowers, hamstring injury, but not a serious one.
20:10That is awesome. Look, maybe the Colts are really a great matchup, but maybe if you drafted any of those top three
20:16Ravens, you're just going to be in a great position to crush your league.
20:20And Ladd McConkie left with me. Are you feeling a little nervous about your Zay Flowers bet?
20:25A little? Does that brought up on the show earlier?
20:28I missed it. No. Yeah, it was brought up.
20:30Oh, yeah. That's an every weeker. I think we should change the bet.
20:34Who do you have? Who's your guy? Devontae Smith.
20:36Oh, God. The most overrated player in all the preseason by analysts.
20:40I'm just joking. That's an overreaction week one, though.
20:42I was about seven spots lower on him and feel gross about him, and I can't wait to hear what Jacob says.
20:49Regardless, you are in a lot of trouble there.
20:51You're relying on the Eagles passing game to get you back.
20:54Oh, yeah. I mean, okay, forget it. Ladd McConkie.
20:57I'm not even sure what it is at this point.
21:00Hip, chest. He got hit on the hip, and they called it a chest injury.
21:04I haven't seen any updates on McConkie. We're waiting on that one.
21:07And defensively, Cowboys got beat up. The Texans lost two linebackers, one an inside linebacker, one an outside linebacker.
21:13And those are multi-week absences, I believe, for Henry To'o To'o and Jake Hummel.
21:17So that's not a small deal. They get the Bengals this week.
21:20And, yeah, I mean, there's some other stuff, but you don't care about that.
21:24What you care about are the snap counts and whatever else Jacob and Dan have up their sleeves.
21:29I don't even know what it's going to be.
21:32So I'm going to turn it over to the stat.
21:34He's the stat, man. You know? Yeah, he's the stat, man.
21:38Oh, I thought you were going a different route.
21:40Tax, man. You know that one? He's the stat, man.
21:43Yeah, he's the stat, man. I got you both.
21:46This is good stuff. Okay, so yeah, the first thing I want to point out is this from Ryan Pagnetti.
21:51We got way more under center usage in week one.
21:54And that was something that a lot of these coaches told us they were going to do.
21:59But it was a really significant change. 66% of the time, teams were under center on normal first and 10 type situations.
22:05That rate was 46% last year. So that's a massive, massive jump per Ryan.
22:09That's the highest rate since 2012. So, you know, Dan, I'll let you talk about real quick, like anything you think that that impacts.
22:16Like obviously under center is generally going to be bigger personnel packages with, you know, maybe fewer receivers on the field.
22:22And so it's a little bit more concentrated. Is there something on those receivers in terms of like Nico Collins, Jackson Smith, and Jigby?
22:29Last year, those type of players can get really big target totals, save flowers.
22:33We've talked about it a lot during the offseason.
22:35And it seems like we're actually getting it. I was really curious how much of a change it would be.
22:41We saw these tight ends drafted really early and everything.
22:44And we got a significant change. So I'm going to throw up on the screen for the YouTube viewers, the teams that
22:50I noticed that made a big change in week one.
22:53And if you have anything you want to add to this discussion, go for it.
22:57Okay, go ahead and read it out loud. Or I can if you want.
23:01Yeah, go for it. All right. So Jacob's posting here.
23:04Offenses that used way less shotgun in week one.
23:06So more under center. The Commanders, the Eagles, the Giants.
23:09These are teams that were more under center. So three NFC East teams, not the Cowboys.
23:14The Raiders, the Ravens, the Bengals, Falcons, and Jets.
23:16I think what stands out to me is we got some very mixed results here.
23:20Well, I think that may be true for those teams.
23:23But according to more data from Sean's side, who's a really good follow on Twitter for their summer sports, not only was
23:29the highest usage of under center since forever at this point, 706 plays.
23:33The next closest was back in 2022. 626. This is from week one data.
23:3742%. The highest before this was 30%. We're talking about a massive jump.
23:41Every single metric from an efficiency standpoint went up as well.
23:44So percentage of dropbacks under center. Percentage of EPA per play under center was higher this season than in any of the
23:50last four seasons when the dropback percentage was topped out at 30%.
23:54This was 42%. And the EPA per dropback and the EPA per rush all were season week one highs over the last
24:00five years with this massive jump in the under center percentage.
24:03And the teams, according to Sean Syed, at least from Summer Sports, that were a 10% change from 2025 to 2026 under center were the Raiders.
24:10Some of the ones we see here, the Raiders, the Jets, Ravens, Jaguars, Falcons, Arizona, Detroit, Washington, San Francisco, and Cincinnati.
24:16I guess the Giants didn't make this cut, probably pretty close.
24:19But the teams that were pulled all together, that stat that I talked about with EPA per play under center, EPA per
24:26dropback and EPA per rush all being week one highs, that's for just all teams in week one.
24:31So clearly it's something that teams are doing more often right now.
24:34And it's something that they're finding more success with on both a per dropback and a per rush standpoint.
24:39The Ravens are the most exciting to me. There were a lot of quarterbacks we were told are going to do this
24:46this year, but we had never really seen them do it.
24:49Like Jaden Daniels, for example. Lamar, we had seen do this some, and it really, really worked well.
24:54The Colts defense might be a problem all year.
24:56That might be an easy one to attack. But definitely in week one, this worked really, really well for Declan Doyle, their new offensive coordinator in Baltimore.
25:04I loved what Lamar Jackson said after. You know what?
25:07Instead of paraphrasing it, I'm just going to get the quote if you want to keep talking.
25:12Well, yeah, there were a few other teams that really stood out.
25:15I mean, the Giants are certainly one of them.
25:18We talked a lot about them, but what that led to was a really concentrated passing game with Likely and with Neighbors,
25:24and that could be what we see moving forward.
25:26It really helps define things for the quarterback, and it helps them kind of lock into the one player like Neighbors, who
25:33in his first game back had a really good volume.
25:35And I think we'll see with these teams we mentioned throughout, the ones Jacob brought up and the ones I brought up,
25:42that we're going to see a lot of these concentrated passing games, which is really what we want for fantasy football.
25:48Yeah, the Jaguars did it a lot too. You brought the Lions as well.
25:52It's hard to say for sure with those teams because of the fact that they're playing with a big lead.
25:57But even early in the game, the Jaguars and Lions were both doing it a lot.
26:02I think Parker Washington really benefits from all this.
26:04He was the receiver who stayed on the field when they went to one receiver sets, which I think would probably shock
26:11a lot of people because he's been a slot player mostly.
26:14If you remember the beginning of the year last year, they had him as a backup perimeter receiver.
26:19That's how he's being used before the Travis Hunter injury.
26:22Now it looks like he might be in the slot for three receiver sets where he dominates, and then on the field in almost all situations.
26:29And when Trevor Lawrence was on the field, before it turned into a complete blowout game script, he had a 29% target
26:35share and 46% of the air yards. So I don't want to say he's this year's Jackson Smith and Jibba because I
26:41don't think he's as good as JSN. But this is where we saw JSN able to push his target share from a
26:48normal wide receiver one to just by far the highest in the league is so many of these plays where he's basically
26:54the clear primary read in the dropback game. I think one thing that jumped out to me, I'm sure you guys noticed
27:00it as well on Thursday, and I mentioned it on the Friday morning show, is that in the 13 personnel, in the
27:06goal-to-go situations for the Rams, Puka Nakua was on the field.
27:09And I think they had three of those plays.
27:12And last year, Devontae Adams ran almost all of those routes, and he scored five or six touchdowns on those routes.
27:18So I'm very heavily invested in Devontae Adams, and that was a very concerning sign.
27:22Puka had played a lot in 13 personnel last year too, but when they got near the goal line, that was Adams
27:28almost every single time from weeks one through 14 before his injury.
27:32And in week one, it was Puka Nakua every single time.
27:35So that was a change. Yeah, for sure. Lamar Jackson, by the way, they come out, they score 41 points, and I
27:41feel like they kind of took their foot off the gas in this game too.
27:45He said, quote, We were all on point from the play calling to the execution.
27:50I've been dialed in since OTA. We all have stayed locked in like this.
27:54I've got a ton of confidence in these guys that they can do that.
27:58And I just think with the Ravens, you know, you heard all offseason long, they're just heaping praise on Declan Doyle, and
28:04they come out and they look amazing. So it's just one week, but those three players could have huge seasons, Jackson, Henry, Flowers.
28:10All right, anything else? Keep going, fellas. Let's talk about Jalen Coker.
28:14Holy crap. Yeah. The dude is so good. He's so good.
28:17He looks so good out there. Yeah. I just, that's like, I sent out this tweet a while back.
28:22I said this in the FFT newsletter, and I just was like, let's get a few things straight about Jalen Coker, because
28:28like even my brother, who's a total sicko, I asked him, I was like, how big do you think Jalen Coker is, dude?
28:35And he's like, six foot, like 190, 195. I'm like, he's like six foot three, 213 pounds.
28:40People think he's a little slot guy, but it's like he had a 43 inch vertical and almost an 11 foot broad jump.
28:46And he was wildly productive in college. He just happened to be a UDFA because sometimes we get these things wrong.
28:52And he ran a four or five, seven. I don't know why, but like all the guy has done is produce.
28:58And he got paid this off season. His last two games, he has 272 yards and three touchdowns with a 30% target share.
29:05I don't think he's like taking over Ted Earl McMillan or anything like that.
29:09I think Ted Earl McMillan is going to clearly be the top guy, but these two are both really, really good.
29:15Matt Harmon, when he did his reception perception charting on Coker, effusive with praise to the point of comparing these two to
29:21Chris Godwin and Mike Evans and saying that he really thinks that Jalen Coker can unlock things for Ted Earl McMillan in
29:27the same way that Godwin did for Evans, where you don't have to always have him tied to the perimeter.
29:33They're interchangeable. Coker can win on the outside. And that's what it looked like in week one is like Coker just winning down this island.
29:40Obviously, all this needs to be taken with a great insult because that very secondary is bad.
29:45It shouldn't be though. I mean, there aren't cornerback is a tough position, but you line up Jalen Johnson and Tyreek Stevenson.
29:51You should be decent. Now, obviously they're missing a starting safety, big free agent acquisition.
29:55They don't have much of a pass rush, I guess.
29:58He had a 26 yard catch Jalen Coker where he actually stumbled.
30:01And it really, I think it threw off Jalen Johnson.
30:04Jalen Johnson kind of like attacked him as he stumbled and then he got back up.
30:09I don't think he expected Coker to regain his balance.
30:12And then he had a 26 yard catch, nearly a touchdown.
30:15But on the long touchdown, he just cooked Tyreek Stevenson.
30:18It's funny. I guess I never really thought he was what you guys see, but I'm probably wrong here.
30:23I don't see like some, some freak. He's big.
30:25I get that, but he's not fast. But I think he looks pretty fast out there.
30:30I don't think so. I mean, it's not traditional speed.
30:33It's like Anquan Bolden level speed. Yeah. Which is game speed.
30:36You don't need to be right. You can still be productive that way.
30:40Last seven games for him and Tedderola McMillan. They have almost the same amount of targets.
30:4445 for Coker, 46 for McMillan. And McMillan has been so much more productive.
30:48On pace for 1,253 yards and 15 touchdowns. McMillan on pace for 940 yards.
30:52So about 300 fewer yards and five touchdowns on pace for 10 fewer touchdowns.
30:56And not only that, Coker in those seven games, he has five red zone, four green zone, four end zone targets.
31:02McMillan has two red zone, zero green zone, two end zone targets.
31:05I still like, I still like McMillan better. But it's, I think what I would say is like this offense last year, they threw for 3,300 yards.
31:13They, like Bryce Young might actually be good. He played so well yesterday.
31:17Maybe it was just a great matchup, but he played so well.
31:20He played well. He played great with his legs.
31:23He extended plays. He was accurate. He played, they could easily take a, they get to over 4,000 yards.
31:28Wouldn't be a shock. 3,800 yards. I mean, they take a 500 plus yard jump in passing yards.
31:33And both these guys could really benefit from it.
31:36Because they're the only ones who are going to get targeted heavily.
31:39I will say that Bryce has had a few of these games.
31:42And then he's kind of gotten back to doing his thing.
31:46So I don't want to react too strongly to it.
31:48But I do just want to keep letting people know that Jalen Coker is really, really, really good.
31:54This isn't some random thing. Yeah, he's 70% rostered, 13% started at Atlanta next week.
31:58I'd like to also give a little bit of credit to Bryce Young.
32:01I know it wasn't a complete game. There were some moments in the second half that led to them maybe not pulling off a win or a comeback.
32:09But some of those throws were absolute dimes in this game.
32:13Yep. Yeah, they really were. All right. We had a question about Coker and Chuba Hubbard later.
32:17We'll talk about that a little bit later. It's one of our big topics.
32:21I'll throw some stuff out. Then you guys can hop back in.
32:25Romo Odunze only played 48% of the snaps, most likely because of the injury.
32:29Kalief Raymond. I think we got... Well, when we talk about Loveden, we'll talk about Kalief Raymond, but he was very, very involved.
32:35He played 60% of the snaps. Both Raymond and Odunze ran 58% of the routes.
32:39Jalen Knoll only played 30% of the snaps. That was disappointing.
32:43One of the biggest disappointments for me was Josh Downs.
32:45He ran 94% of the routes and only had a 12.5% target per route run rate.
32:50And then stupid Keenan Allen had a 23% target per route run rate.
32:54Stupid Keenan Allen. That's not very nice. Great debut for Antonio Williams for Washington, but he only played 37% of the routes.
33:00So we're going to hope that... Terry McLaurin. Yeah, you know, it wasn't a shock to me.
33:05It wasn't a shock. Like against the Eagles, it wasn't a shock.
33:08Oh man, all offseason this O.C. Oh, we're going to move him around.
33:12He's going to be the focal point of the offense.
33:15Didn't seem like it in week one. That didn't feel like a focal point game plan or anywhere close.
33:20Yeah, you know who they play next week? Who's that?
33:23Dallas. Well, that's good. Okay. Maybe a bounce back spot.
33:26It's a... He needs to. He needs to bounce back.
33:28Yeah. A 30%... 29% slot rate for Terry McLaurin.
33:31I feel like that's probably on the high side for him.
33:34His career high in a season is 24%. Last year, his rate was 13%.
33:38Yeah. Okay. So they did move him around. Didn't put him in motion at all.
33:42Let's see. Anything else? Oh, Caleb Douglas. Caleb Douglas played 91% of the snaps.
33:46Chris Bell played 52% for the Dolphins. Caleb Douglas had a really good game.
33:50Malik Washington played 98% of the snaps, but he's probably not going to matter.
33:54Most third down routes among running backs. McCaffrey, Ramondre Stevenson, Chuba Hubbard right up there at the top.
33:59Rashad White, Bijan Robinson, Tyje Spears, Devon Achan, Sione Vaki for the Lions.
34:03Bucky Irving ran six third down routes. Kenneth Gamewell ran two third down routes.
34:07So those are your top nine in third down routes for running backs.
34:11McCaffrey, Ramondre, Chuba, Rashad White, Bijan, Tyje Spears, Achan, Vaki, and Bucky Irving.
34:14And the Packers, if anything's going to derail their offense, it could be their line.
34:19They were missing starting guard Aaron Banks yesterday. And according to ESPN, the Minnesota Vikings had a pass rush win rate of
34:2590.6%, the highest by any team in a game since 2022.
34:28Wow. And they still passed the ball decently. I mean, Love still scored like 23 points.
34:32And that's all I've got. It had a ton of quick pressures.
34:36It was a mess. That's all I've got for my, you know, advance.
34:39Let me throw this up on the screen real quick on Terry McLaurin.
34:43I've got his alignment data. You can see here on the screen if you're watching on YouTube.
34:48The last couple of years, it's been this by far the highest in the league, 72, 74% of the reps all on the outside left receiver.
34:55You see here, it's like much, much more balanced left in the slot and on the outside on the right.
35:01So hopefully it will get a little bit better.
35:04I need to dig into it before I say for sure that this means that it was better in terms of like
35:10how he was actually used on his routes. What does Rattree look like?
35:13I don't know. I'm just nervous as hell about Washington, but maybe that was just an Eagles thing in week one.
35:19I think their line, though, is just potentially disqualifyingly bad.
35:22It's definitely going to be a struggle. Definitely. And I think Diggs is a problem, too.
35:27Diggs had nine targets and a terrible penalty and a touchdown.
35:30I wanted to hear. I don't know if we have time for it, but I wanted to hear your thoughts, Jacob, on the Eagles offense line.
35:37I didn't get a chance to watch that all 22.
35:40And I saw your stat where Barkley had, I think, all but what was it?
35:44What was the yards for contact? Barkley had 83 yards rushing and 82 of them came after contact.
35:49Wow. That's bad news. That's oldie. That's that's like that's nearing on borderline.
35:53Gentie 2025 status. The commanders, to give them credit, they put a lot of resources into their defensive line this offseason.
35:59I don't know if it was anything like game changing or whatever, but they wanted to be, I think, bigger up front, better up front.
36:06But but yeah, I had that game on one of my laptops and I noticed it a lot.
36:11Like it was kind of a disjointed performance. The Eagles had a decent performance offensively, but it just it wasn't easy.
36:17It wasn't easy. It was the pressure was was pretty consistent.
36:20I know I didn't look at the pressure rate, but I'll look at it now.
36:25See, we're excited to watch that game on all 22.
36:27Yeah. See, we're Washington. They were only 15th in pressure rate, but to me, it felt felt pretty significant.
36:33OK, I watched Chris Godwin tape and better than last year.
36:36But this was one of the biggest duds for me this week.
36:39I told a lot of people to start Chris Godwin.
36:42He had four targets. He had three air yards.
36:45Oh, but I don't know how that's possible because he got like there must have been a couple of screens, but he had a very low.
36:52So I got Jamar Chase. Yeah, I watched Jamar Chase and compared him to his game tape from the last game of
36:58last season or maybe the second to last game of last season.
37:02And I would just say like I'm not I'm not 100 percent convinced he's not playing through something here because he was on.
37:08You know, he missed time in camp with a knee injury.
37:11He had he practiced in full Wednesday and Thursday, and then Chase did not practice on Friday.
37:16They downplayed it. I'm not saying he looked bad out there.
37:19We have that one screenshot. Check this out. He's at the bottom of the screen.
37:23Look at that release. He's wide open. That was like instantly.
37:27Ball was where did Burrow go with the ball left side?
37:30I don't remember. I could probably zoom in and find out who he threw it to, but he threw it in.
37:36That's crazy. You have Chase one on one without safety help, and that's not where you look.
37:40Yeah, he's wide open, but even if he catches a two yard touchdown there or whatever, it's still a bad game for him.
37:47But yeah, I don't know. I feel like it wasn't quite.
37:50I feel like it. Oops, sorry. I feel like he wasn't quite himself to be 100 percent honest.
37:55So I think it's probably nothing. But just because he had the knee issue.
37:59Might want to just say he's not like this.
38:02The super mega high end by low candidate that he may be.
38:05By the way, Jamar Chase never does well in week one, but this was a little bit worse.
38:10Okay. Anything else, guys? Or should we get to the big topics?
38:14Jameer Gibbs had more first downs than any player in any game last year.
38:18Any non-quarterback. He had 34 touches, 180 excrimmage yards, eight of the Lions' 14 red zone touches in total, not just the backfield.
38:24This was the stone worst outcome probably for the Lions from a scoring standpoint we'll see almost all year.
38:29Like maybe I'm wrong, but I doubt they have too many games 24 or under in regular time.
38:35And he still went off Jameer Gibbs. This is, look, this is, I mean, we all kind of said it, Jacob.
38:40You were the most ahead of it with the $70 win on the auction bid we had on our joint team for Gibbs.
38:47Just blew out the load on a super flex budget.
38:50But you said it, and we both kind of felt it.
38:53He was so far ahead of any player, Bijan included, in this year's class.
38:57And if he stays healthy, I don't see why he's going to outpace what McCaffrey did last year for sure.
39:03And it's probably going to look a lot like prime Andy Reid Chiefs Jamal Charles types fantasy seasons.
39:08Remember those back in the day that just single-handedly won you leagues?
39:11Yes, that was my bold prediction that he would have the second.
39:14Oh, I like that. He would have the second best running back season.
39:18Well, he'd have a better running back season in the last 10 years than anyone other than Christian McCaffrey when McCaffrey had
39:24a couple of years where he averaged 28, 29 points per game.
39:28But I will say I don't like that he had 29 carries.
39:31Yeah, that's weird. It's too much. I thought it would be more than a pair.
39:35It is a lot, man. It's great for a guy like him too.
39:39What is he, 200? Like he's not a big dude.
39:42Yeah, I don't love it. Okay. All right, we're going to take a break.
39:46We got our four big topics. I know you want to hear what we think about Colson Loveland.
39:51That's coming up after this. I think it's time to break out the old Worry-O-Meter.
39:55Oh, yeah. I think the Worry-O-Meter needs a theme song.
39:58It does. It's on you, though. You're the guy who does that type of stuff.
40:02And then you're the guy who will butcher it.
40:05Yours wasn't much better. I think we have proof of that.
40:08That's insane. That is just insane. You both were bad.
40:11Mine was like a one. Mine was a 0.7 out of 10.
40:14Yours was at 1.4. I think it's fair. I really don't.
40:17Which is double. Double as good as mine, but just really bad.
40:21I think mine was at least a 7.4. You think you were 7.4 out of 10 on that?
40:26Yeah. Well, then do me a favor. Cut it up and show it on the next mailbag, and we can judge it.
40:32And we'll rank it one. The audience will rank that one to 10 with decimals.
40:36Okay. All right. Our first big topic is from Rubens Wright.
40:39Oh, no. That's our second one. Our first big topic is from Sean.
40:43It starts and ends with Colston Loveland's goose egg, despite the Bears scoring 59 points.
40:47And I'd have to agree. No catches on two targets.
40:50And what's our worryometer level, Jacob, on Colston Loveland?
40:53Not worried. Zero percent. Wow. Zero percent. Wow. Dan?
40:55Let's see. I'll go eight percent. Just eight percent.
40:58Eight percent. I'd be more worried if he did this and the Bears didn't score a lot of points and look unbelievable on offense.
41:05Then I'd be like, okay, crap. Not only can he not be a part of a game plan that much, but they're also not really moving the ball.
41:13The opposite happened. They put up 59 points and looked like what Ben Johnson said might be a proclamation of what's to come.
41:19We may score the most points in the NFL history this year.
41:22I doubt they'll play the Panthers-Evens every year. The Panthers-Evens ends the year pretty good, though.
41:27Last year. They looked phenomenal, the Bears on offense.
41:30Just unstoppable. And there's nothing. I wrote about this in yesterday's article from CBS Sports.
41:34There's nothing really to make me feel, indication-wise, that this will slow down.
41:37They have a top three, four, or four offensive line.
41:40I think Caleb Williams is taking the step forward.
41:43They have a top one or two ground game.
41:45They ran for 291 yards rushing combined. That's insane.
41:48And they have weapons in the passing game. What will slow this offense down at this point?
41:53And the best play schemer in the NFL. And Ben Johnson.
41:56So what is... Let's keep it on Loveland here, though, just to focus it.
42:00My point is, as this offense continues to dominate, there'll be some weeks for him.
42:04It's probably not going to be a situation like we talked about earlier with those teams who are going under center and
42:10really narrowing the offense to certain two targets. I don't think it'll be that, but I think he'll have some big weeks.
42:17I'm going to go 15% on Loveland. You know, I think that...
42:20You're not very worried either. No, I'm not. I think he's a great by-low.
42:24Phenomenal by-low. They are going to score a ton of points.
42:27I think the worst-case scenario for Colson Loveland would be like a good Sam Laporta season, where there's some bad weeks in
42:33there, whatever, but he's still going to score a lot of touchdowns.
42:37And I think he's a more talented player than Sam Laporta.
42:40He's a more talented player than most tight ends.
42:42And yeah, he's going to be on arguably the best offense in the NFL.
42:46The Kalief Raymond thing is interesting. I want to know what you guys think about that with Kalief Raymond getting nine targets in this game.
42:53And by the way, they scored 59 points, but there are still a very run-heavy...
42:58This is why I'm a little concerned. There's still a very run-heavy team.
43:01They only threw 29 passes in this game. And he still, Colson Loveland, now in his career, still does not have a catch on a screen pass.
43:09He had the second-highest average route depth of any tight end, any fantasy-relevant tight end.
43:13And the only one that was higher that I'm considering is Terrence Ferguson.
43:17And I would say that he's probably not even fantasy-relevant at this point.
43:21So this is what concerned me. I've seen this version with Kyle Pitts.
43:24Super high ADOTs, very few easy throws, very few layups.
43:27That's not the best way to be a sustainably successful tight end.
43:30And now you want to trust Caleb Williams and Colson Loveland more than Marcus Mariota, right?
43:35And whoever else is playing quarterback for those Falcons teams dragging Kyle Pitts down.
43:39But I'd like to see more easy catches. They don't exist for Colson Loveland.
43:43So those were some of my concerns going into the year.
43:46That being said, I pretty much cast all those concerns aside and fully bought into Colson Loveland.
43:51I didn't like him in the third round. I loved him in the fourth round.
43:55But I'll go 15% just because of that profile and this Kalief Raymond stuff.
43:59And by the way, Romo Dunze wasn't even fully healthy in this game.
44:03So that's a factor too. Jacob, what do you make of the Kalief Raymond role?
44:07Raymond was out there and was open a lot.
44:10There were a lot of plays where the defense was gravitating towards Loveland.
44:13The defense was gravitating towards Adunze. To your point, Loveland was used down the field a lot and was drawing a lot of safety help.
44:20And that was opening things up over the middle of the field.
44:24And that ended up being Raymond a lot. Maybe defenses will watch this film and say, yeah, that's fine.
44:29It's fine that they put up 59 points and Caleb Williams was able to...
44:33Caleb Williams got anything he wanted in the run game, got anything it wanted.
44:37We just have to make sure Loveland doesn't beat us.
44:40And that will continue to happen. But I also think it's possible that defenses will adjust after seeing 59 points in that game.
44:46And that you'll start to see Loveland getting some more one-on-one looks.
44:50And I think he wins those pretty regularly. I think the key difference between him and somebody like Kyle Pitts, who you
44:56compared him to, is obviously, like you said, the offense is much better.
45:00And then also, he's much better. He's a really, really, really good red zone target.
45:04And so he might not get a lot of easy catches.
45:07But I do think he has more built-in touchdown equity in terms of being able to project it than any tight end in the whole league.
45:14Yeah, he also was open for a touchdown at least once in this game and just didn't get targeted.
45:20He was wide open over the middle on two throws that easily could have been 50 yards between the two of them.
45:26One of them was just a miss by Caleb.
45:29The other one, he took the check down to Kyle Mononga instead.
45:32I just think things could go a lot differently and will go a lot differently.
45:36And yeah, it's clearly a buy low. I don't know exactly how it will play out.
45:41There might be games like this where defenses are hyper fixated on stopping him.
45:45And then it ends up being everybody else. Because what Ben Johnson has told us all offseason played out in week one,
45:51which is that Caleb is a lot more comfortable in the offense going through his reads and just taking what's there.
45:57And so if that's the case, then that does hurt Loveland.
46:00And that's fair. But again, it's tight end, right?
46:03Like it's pretty, it's tough to get zero. And everyone's really frustrated with it because they drafted Loveland around three, around four, whatever.
46:09But there were like a bunch of tight ends who got zero or basically zero this week.
46:14You know, like that's just kind of how it is as much as that is frustrating to hear.
46:19Yeah. And Bauer's got zero too. Right. It's true.
46:22Okay. Ruben's right has our second big topic today.
46:24Which studs are worth buying low immediately? And which duds are a sign of things to come?
46:29I think he means like which duds are worth, but well, okay.
46:32What's real and what's not from the bad performances of week one.
46:36Blip versus trend is his short way of saying it.
46:39And Jacob, you came up with a nice convenient little list here of players you're worried about, players you're not worried about.
46:45And who'd you want to focus on here? Oh, look.
46:48Ooh, look at this. There's a lot of guys.
46:50Go ahead. Run us through it. Who are you not worried about?
46:54Producers are killing it today. Yeah. Yeah. So I'm worried about Devante Adams.
46:57You brought up those reasons already. So we'll just wait and see what happens with that.
47:02But if he doesn't get that red zone role, then that is a little bit concerning.
47:06Um, I am a little bit worried about Terry McLaurin.
47:09Um, well, I want to dig into that more, but I'm just worried about the offense as a whole.
47:14And especially if Antonio Williams is as good as he looked right.
47:18That's now two targets you have to compete with, you know, um, and both of them being kind of short area targets,
47:24which I think we might see have to be the point of emphasis at the line struggles.
47:29And then I'm, I'm definitely worried about Quinchon Jenkins.
47:31He was somebody I was worried about coming into the year, um, split backfield on a terrible offense.
47:37Um, it was exactly what we saw last year.
47:39I think it might get better, a little bit better in terms of like creating yards before contact, you might have better rush efficiency than this.
47:46They might be able to sustain first downs and give them 15 or 18 carries instead of 12.
47:52That's what we saw last year was the average 19 rushes per game when he was healthy.
47:56So like, I don't want to totally overreact to the bad game from Judkins, but also it's like, this is exactly what we were scared of.
48:04Yeah. I'm sorry. I just want to add that the Jaguars happen to have a terrific run defense, but I I'm completely
48:10with you on being worried about Judkins, but this was kind of a worst case scenario.
48:15It seemed with a team with a great run defense and a great offense.
48:18Just running away from, from Cleveland, the worst possible game trip.
48:22So I think he's going to be a guy who's a little schedule dependent and, uh, let's get the schedule out for Judkins here.
48:28Um, sorry. So it's get, you know, so it's at Tampa Bay, Carolina, Pittsburgh, which is just looking at that feels like
48:35all those games are better for him than Jacksonville.
48:37I guess. But at the same time, like I'm, I'm totally feel you.
48:41Yeah. So this was a clear avoid preseason for me.
48:44No, no shares of him. Just seemed like an obvious trap back.
48:47I mean, there'll be some good games though. That's the thing.
48:50Just like last year, it never looked good on paper.
48:53I don't think to start Judkins any week. And then he just had a lot of good weeks because he's a talented player.
49:00Definitely more of a best ball feel for me.
49:02Rest of the year. I mean, you can just put him in a flex and pray and it's going to work out
49:08sometimes because again, he's going to get random touchdowns, but there's just doesn't seem to be a single game script.
49:14I'm looking forward to. I get it. Some are going to be better than Jaguars, but not really like it.
49:20I, this offense looks unbelievably bad. Okay. Let's go to the, a little worried category for, and their defense sucks this year.
49:26Yeah. Do we have Travis, do we have Travis HN thoughts here?
49:29Oh yeah. I, I got a little bit better in the second half, but in the first half I was like, what
49:35the heck is going on right now? This is like the whole reason you draft this guy is because you think he's like a locked in bell cow.
49:43And then you're just putting the backfield, even though they've had like every single writing back to, they've tried get hurt over
49:50the past month and they've landed on Kendra Miller and he gets the red zone touchdown and just like, what is that?
49:56Stating. Um, so like, yeah, if you drafted him as the bell cow, that was a really, really concerning start to a lesser extent.
50:03The same thing kind of happened to Jalen Warren.
50:05In fact, he almost kind of looked like he was losing out on the backfield and that was happening before the fumble.
50:11Um, he ended up having more carries, but Rico Dowd played more.
50:15I don't really know what to make of that backfield either.
50:18And he was another guy who people were drafting thinking that like, he kind of had a near locked in role on like passing downs at least.
50:26Um, but it was kind of a kind of weird mix there.
50:29Yeah. Thoughts on those two. Yeah. I have a lot of thoughts.
50:32My first thought is that Warren and Dowdle, I think, I think I'm sorry to say, I think it has to, I
50:39think it's okay sometimes to say, I don't know.
50:41And I don't know. I want to continue to see how this plays out.
50:45My whole thing with Warren and Dowdle was like, I just feel like Dowdle is not that good at the end of the day.
50:52And Jalen Warren is going to prove to be the better rusher over the course of time.
50:57But I also thought Warren was going to be the third down back.
51:00And that was not the case. Dowdle was more of the third down back in this game.
51:05However, they both got enough targets because that's what Rogers does.
51:08So they're flexes this week. They're placing facing the Patriots.
51:11I'm not interested with it. With the Travis H and thing, I'm pissed.
51:15I think on the show last night, Dave thought Dave maybe said that he thought a channel like came out with like
51:21a little, I'm a little dinged up kind of situation.
51:24And then Miller had some carries there. Okay. They did run a play from the one yard line or the two yard line.
51:30And Travis H and was in, um, I think it's insane.
51:34And I think it's also concerning that Camara didn't play in this game.
51:37Do you look at like the seven catches that he had?
51:40Well, they threw 56 times and Camara didn't play.
51:43So I'm very nervous about a guy that I drafted a lot of was I thought he was, you know, I thought
51:49he was like a guy that's going to be, Oh, he should have been a sec, maybe a second round pick.
51:55Right. But I'm really worried about a chant. Uh, no, I would say I'm a little worried about a chant over time.
52:01If they don't, if they gave him that contract and don't use him more than screw them, they're stupid.
52:07Uh, but yeah, I I'm concerned. My rate is on my radar, Jacob, for sure.
52:11I'd say this about the Steelers situation. Go back and watch the tape before tomorrow's episode.
52:16Jacob, once I get through all the giant stuff, I need to see what happened there.
52:20Cause I was wildly disappointed with the Steelers offense as a whole in that matchup with the game script they got and
52:26how many times Atlanta turned the ball back over to them over and over again with Cooper rush, basically unplayable player.
52:32I'm really just disgusted and surprised with Atlanta and not playing Jack strand over him.
52:36At least try to move the football with a guy we know who can't.
52:40Cooper rush, but the offense didn't move the ball on this Steelers offense line was really bally hooded.
52:46They'd had a, they've added a lot of first round talent.
52:49They were supposedly having a great camp, the offensive line, and they weren't moving bodies at all in that game.
52:54From what I've seen on the broadcast, like Warren Dowdle, they didn't really have much many places to go.
53:00And Aaron Rogers wasn't doing much either. I was just kind of shocked at how bad they were on offense in what
53:06should be one of their best matchups of the year.
53:09They went super drop back heavy too. And again, they were leading the whole time, which I think maybe signals that they
53:15didn't feel a lot of confidence in the right game.
53:18It was weird. Other players are a little worried about a pair of Eagles on here.
53:22Well, actually, before we get to that, I just, I don't really care about what happened with Drake London and Kyle Pitts.
53:29I'm not going to start them as long as Cooper Rush is playing quarterback.
53:33Yeah. Like it's just not going to happen. You know, maybe I'll take another shot on, on Drake London if I have
53:39to, but I just kind of, I'm guessing you saw something else because I think you could easily explain their struggles by just saying the quarterback.
53:46I just think that Zach Robinson, we're going to talk about him a little bit at some point.
53:51We'll definitely talk about beyond the box score on our YouTube channel with like a Mecca Buka and everything.
53:57Like the usage was really, really good. Like all the motion at the snap of the football creative stuff that we saw
54:03last year, Atlanta transferred over immediately with the bucks.
54:05Um, and Atlanta, it didn't really feel that way.
54:08London was used in motion a little bit before the snap, never at the snap of the football and pits.
54:14It was just like very little intent or design or creativity to get him the ball.
54:18It felt like the offense was just get Bichon the ball and fair enough.
54:22But like, I don't know. I'm, I'm nervous about those two right now.
54:26Yeah. Why Barkley and Devante Smith? The Eagles were dead last and pass success rate.
54:30Um, and they weren't much better on the ground as I, you know, alluded to with the yards before contact earlier.
54:36Um, I need to dig into the film to really give you my full thoughts on it, but yeah, I didn't get
54:42hardly any play action in this game. Oof. Um, I wonder if maybe they're not very comfortable with the install of what
54:48they've been trying to do this off season. Um, and this should have been a soft matchup.
54:53So I was hoping to see some semblance of like a potentially explosive offense and everything.
54:58We got a few big plays, but it was, it was just kind of, I don't know.
55:03It just looked like pretty much like last year, but we'll see.
55:06I need to dig into it more. Okay. And then for the players that Jacob's not worried about, basically the Bengals, the
55:12chargers, we have a question separately about the chargers.
55:15Colson Loveland, Luther Burden, Christian McCaffrey. I mean, I am a little worried about Christian McCaffrey.
55:19Not that he's going to be bad or anything, but, um, way too much.
55:23Kaylon Black, way too much. And you know, H and you have on there, George Pickens totally agree.
55:28Baker Mayfield and Emeka Buka. You are not worried about, you know, Mayfield.
55:32One thing I didn't like about him going into last year was that in 2024, his great year, he led the NFL
55:38in fumbles and he only lost two of them.
55:41And he's just a big fumbler. So it's caught up to him a little bit and he's got to stop doing that
55:47garbage, but they could definitely put up some points, but let's talk about McCaffrey and H and you're not worried about them.
55:53And I am a little worried about them. Yeah.
55:56Um, I, I, obviously we don't know what's going to happen with the backfield in San Francisco.
56:01Um, and if Kaylon Black, especially if he takes like goal line touches, if he like plays well enough that Shannon just
56:07kind of keeps him in there, that would be really annoying.
56:10And I think that's possible. I think Kaylon Black is really good.
56:13Um, but mostly these are low value touches. And so CMC is still, I think, going to get a lot of high value touches.
56:20And just overall to me, it felt good that the offense looked good.
56:24Yeah. Um, I thought that Brock Purdy, I mean, we've seen a lot, we saw a lot of quarterbacks this week struggle
56:30against all this deep zone cover six stuff, just like for like kind of baiting them into these bad throws down the field and they were taking it.
56:38And Brock Purdy was the opposite. He was methodical.
56:41He just like dropped back and took what was there over and over and over and over and over.
56:46Mike Evans looked like fricking Jawan Jennings or something.
56:48Like that was not the role I was expecting, but like, that's what he was doing.
56:53And it's like, I think we're going to see, I think Evans will offer them some field stretching at some point.
56:59I thought he did a good job of that last year.
57:02I know a lot of people might think he's toast, but I think he's still got it.
57:07Um, and I think that offers a different element to this offensively we've seen.
57:11And then if we also have the consistency, the chain moving and everything there, it's just, it's just such a good machine
57:17man for fantasy point producing, just like bet on that.
57:20And so to me, I thought CMC looked good.
57:22There's been kind of concerns with like the soreness or whatever, but I thought he actually looked like he had some juice.
57:29Um, and I think it might be a good thing to get him where he's not taking a beating.
57:34Um, and so the, there's a little more like, uh, selectivity with when he gets the ball.
57:39Yeah. I felt that. I feel that too. H and I mean, I felt like this was a game where they might
57:45be able to run the ball a little bit and he had 11 carries.
57:49Now they're at San Francisco, Kansas city at Minnesota, Cincinnati, you know, we know how great Devon H and is, but all
57:55the things, if you were worried about Devon H and they all kind of came to fruition, uh, yesterday.
58:01Yeah. Right. Yeah. I know. That's why I wanted to put them on here.
58:05And I, again, I could be wrong. It could be a problematic thing all year long, but, um, I thought that they
58:11did a pretty good job of trying to get him out into space.
58:15I'm trying to design receiving touches to him. My guess is that we'll see.
58:19It was a pretty bad day for Miami's offense.
58:21And maybe it's just gonna be like that all year.
58:24It could be like that. Maybe Malik Willis is not who I think he is, but there were good flashes with Willis.
58:30I'm, I'm nervous about this one a little, maybe I should put him a little worried because I'm personally worried that I'm
58:36too invested in wanting Malik Willis to succeed. And so I gravitate towards the flashes and ignore the fact that like it was pretty inconsistent and bumpy.
58:44If you look at like time to throw, um, on plays that were in the pocket, not outside of the pocket, he
58:50had by far the highest time to throw of any quarterback in week one.
58:54And that's kind of what we've seen from the leak.
58:57Um, but when it was like designed and on time and everything, I thought it functioned well.
59:02And we just need HN to give us one of these plays where he creates something in space.
59:07We just didn't get very much of in week one.
59:10I think that's kind of random. Would you guys rather have Deandre Swift or Devon HN rest of season?
59:15HN. It's a great question. I was so low on HN preseason.
59:19Didn't draft him in a single of my 26 leagues, but that's because he was priced differently than Swift.
59:24If I was on the board, I would have taken HN thinking about this rest of season going with Swift.
59:30I'm already there. Okay. And I'm going with Javante over him.
59:33I'm just, I, I, I, I'm much more scared of this HN situation, I guess, than Jacob is, which is fair because
59:39he watched the tape and I haven't watched it yet.
59:42I want to see it if they are in, and they did look like the, in the joint practice against the giants
59:48that I saw down in Miami, like he was getting targets.
59:51He was involved, but you know, this run scheme didn't look as good to me on the broadcast.
59:56And I watched a lot of that Raiders game was in the four o'clock window.
60:01That's no McDaniel. And generally speaking, I didn't think their offense looked very good either overall.
60:05So it's kind of similar to like a each hand situation in new Orleans, but just a better talent and getting all the red zone work.
60:12Like, I don't know. It just seems that all these teams, all these bad offenses, I have trouble buying into the running backs.
60:19I was just laughing at the name thing. Yeah, me too.
60:22You can compare HN to HN for the first time.
60:25I think we've really ever done that. All right.
60:27We got to move on here. I'm sorry to two more questions here.
60:31We'll wrap it up. From ghost Kerrigan. Is it possible?
60:34The chargers offense just isn't good. They scored 14 points, but Jacob, you just basically said you're not worried about them.
60:40I would say I am worried if lab McConkie misses time.
60:43I don't know how you feel. Yeah. No, that's fair.
60:46Lab McConkie produced five of their eight receiving first downs.
60:49The only other player to produce a receiving first down was David Njoku.
60:52He produced three. One of them was a play where it bounced off of a lineman's helmet and went to Njoku and he got like 15 yards.
61:00Yeah, it was pretty bad. McConkie was the only one getting open.
61:03QJ got open on a couple of plays and Herbert missed them.
61:07So that's my thought is like, it could be bad all year if you think Herbert's bad.
61:12If you think Herbert's just not a good quarterback, which some people legitimately do.
61:16And so if you think that this is like a fraud alert and Herbert is just going to be a fraud all year, then yeah, sell these guys.
61:23Sure. You said he looked bad, right? I saw on Twitter, you tweeted that he just had a bad game.
61:29Yep. I think it was one of the worst games.
61:32Was he, was he not seeing the field well or the, the, the, didn't seem like he was target.
61:37Didn't seem like he was seeing the field. Well, um, he was getting the ball out quick a lot of times and kind of missing things.
61:45And he just felt kind of uncomfortable. He made a couple of nice throws.
61:49He made a lot of weird throws. Um, in terms of accuracy, putting it behind people, but part of that though, too,
61:55is like, I don't know exactly what the design was.
61:58It's possible that Trey Harris wasn't going where he thought he was going to go.
62:02Yeah. For example. Um, but there were definitely some throws that were just off for sure.
62:07And some decisions that were just bad. And was the O line a problem?
62:10Cause I think that's probably the guards are terrible.
62:13The guards are terrible. Can't believe we might have another year of this.
62:17He had an 11, Justin Herbert had an 11.1% off target rate, which, uh, is high.
62:21I mean, but he's had, he had games like that last year, 14.9%, 10.9%, 12%, 23% as wild, but he struggled yesterday.
62:27Not great. Give him look at that. It's not like, uh, you get a new offensive coordinator and you snap your fingers.
62:34And in week one, it's always great. Obviously it took the bears a little while to find their footing last year.
62:40Um, so hopefully things will just get better for them.
62:42McConkie was terrific. And Justin Herbert averaged, let me see if I have this 10.3 yards per attempt with McConkie and 5.4
62:49yards per attempt without McConkie on the field last, uh, yesterday.
62:52And another thing I'd say is like, they had a very impressive touchdown drive in the first half.
62:57They got the ball again. They're driving down the field and Omar and Hampton fumbled.
63:01And that was a big turning point in the game.
63:04And on the next possession, they got inside the five yard line and they, they went for it on fourth down.
63:10Like just take the freaking points. It was fourth and three.
63:13Sure. They got sacked. So those were two drives that probably would have ended in some points.
63:18And they turned the ball over once with a fumble, once on downs.
63:22And then in the fourth quarter without McConkie, they were really stuck in the mud and they were trailing and just throwing and throwing.
63:28But, um, yeah, I, I, that was pretty bad.
63:31And I also thought the fact that they couldn't run on Arizona is a little concerning.
63:35But Chuba Hubbard was good yesterday. And that's our last question is from Scott.
63:39He wants to know about Chuba and Coker. We talked about Coker.
63:43We're buying in here. Chuba Hubbard, um, a terrific game.
63:4610 carries, 49 yards and a touchdown, three catches, 38 yards and a wide open touchdown.
63:50And he pretty much dominated snaps here. Do you guys think this is Dan, a sign of things to come in the car in the Panthers backfield?
63:58Or will it become more of an even split going forward?
64:01It's a great question. I know in the past we saw just recently as like a week or two ago, John, uh,
64:07their head coach basically say in the past, we've used a workhorse and it's worked out well.
64:12When we have the hot hand, we want to ride it.
64:15We saw this last year with Rico Dowdle previously with Hubbard.
64:18So it may just be a situation where right now they're riding the hot hand with Hubbard, especially given the fact that Brooks may not be fully healthy.
64:26He's playing, but maybe he's not fully healthy. And Brooks may have those plays like he had down the right side on
64:32the big passing play, get some work. But I think for now we got to consider this Chuba Hubbard's backfield.
64:38Yep. That's exactly how I feel. Everything we've heard from the coaches is that like, they're going to have one guy who's
64:44the lead back and like gets a feel for how the line is doing against the defense.
64:49Um, and then the other guys like a change of pace back.
64:52I thought it might be Brooks coming into the year because Hubbard had been banged up and then we had the weird injury stuff before the season.
65:00And then we get to week one and it's like all Hubbard.
65:04Um, so I think that's just where we're at.
65:06Like Brooks wasn't really even mixing in like the second half.
65:09He didn't get on the field until like the third drive.
65:12And it's just like, I think that's just, he's, he's just there to change it up right now.
65:17So unless there's an injury or something or Hubbard like has a bunch of fumbles or something, it's probably just his backfield.
65:24Okay. I think I'm a little more open-minded to the fact that this could be kind of fluid throughout the year because
65:30I'm not the biggest Chuba Hubbard guy. He, his longest run last season was 12 yards and he did not eclipse that.
65:36Oh no, sorry. He had one run longer than 12 yards last year.
65:40He had an 11 yard run yesterday, but he did fine.
65:43I mean, that was fine. I just, I guess we don't really know if Jonathan Brooks is any good, right?
65:49We've never really seen it, but I'm not convinced that Chuba Hubbard is so much better than him.
65:54Like right now it is his role. It's his job, but you know, it was his role to start last year.
66:00And then he got hurt. Rico Dowdle was awesome against some easy matchups and they kind of split, but I think it could be a little more fluid.
66:08However, I do think that you should, you should approach as if it's Chuba Hubbard's backfield.
66:12I'd be hesitant to be looking at Chuba Hubbard in my lineup and say, okay, I've got an RB2 for the rest of the season.
66:19I'd be a little hesitant there. Uh, but I think I'm, I think I'm starting to feel this, uh, this Panthers offense
66:25a little bit more, uh, because Bryce Young looks so good yesterday.
66:29So we'll see if he can do it again.
66:31I can't, I forget who the hell they play next week.
66:34Um, Hubbard was running back for an expected Atlanta this week running back for an XFP.
66:39Like his crazy, his role was great. I think you do have a running back to that.
66:44You never know what is going to happen the rest of season.
66:47Yeah. But like, until he gets hurt, until the wheels fall off, I think you got an RB2 that you're riding.
66:53Yeah. I mean, I'm certainly, I'm certainly starting him.
66:56I mean, he could be a top 12 guy next week.
66:59You know, I'd start him over Cam Scadaboo at the Rams.
67:02I'd start him over Quinchon Judkins. I'd probably start him over who the saints playing.
67:06Probably start him over Travis H. And, um, yeah, it's interesting.
67:09There's really no reason not to. I'd be really surprised if he got rug pulled.
67:14I think it would probably have to be an injury or him like having a bunch of fumbles.
67:19Yeah. Gradual, you know, but, but right. Like next week, Tyler's or Travis H.
67:23Chanette Baltimore versus the Falcons for Chuba Hubbard. You're certainly going to feel more comfortable with Hubbard in your lineup.
67:28Yeah. Right now he's an RB2 for sure. Okay.
67:31Uh, if, if not an RB1. That's it for fantasy football today.
