Brock Bowers

PositiveBreakout41:17

Dave Richard identifies Brock Bowers as a potential breakout player who could become a top-tier tight end similar to Travis Kelce or Rob Gronkowski, making him a target for late round-one consideration in future drafts.

Insight page

Bucky Irving

PositiveBreakout15:09

Jamie Eisenberg highlights Bucky Irving as a potential fantasy asset, noting that if he secures 15+ touches, he could pay off significantly for managers who drafted him in the 4th or 5th round.

Insight page

Carnell Tate

NegativeBust54:06

Carnell Tate is not expected to have a standout season, as he is viewed as a WR3 in a struggling Titans offense. While he may provide value at his current seventh-round ADP, he is expected to lose targets to other receivers on the team.

Insight page

Chris Bell

NegativeSleeper45:35

Dave Richard suggests looking for Chris Bell of the Miami Dolphins as a potential bench stash if Trey Tucker is already rostered.

Insight page

Christian McCaffrey

PositiveUsage2:01

Dave Richard considers McCaffrey a must-start player for Week 1, noting that he is ranking him as if he is going to play despite the tough matchup.

Insight page
NegativeUsage43:13

Dave Richard. Dave notes that Christian McCaffrey has had a drama-free training camp, though he remains a high-risk, high-reward player who will likely determine the success of Dave Richard. Dave's fantasy season.

Insight page

D.J. Moore

PositiveValue42:28

DJ Moore is expected to bounce back from a poor 2025 season, with Josh Allen projected to maximize his production. Moore is expected to lead the team in all statistical categories and provide consistent 15 PPR points per game, making him a must-start after a slow week one.

Insight page
PositiveValue42:38

Dave Richard remains high on DJ Moore, noting he drafted him frequently in rounds four and five. Richard believes Moore still has top-20 wide receiver upside, provided he avoids the decline seen in his age-29 season last year.

Insight page

D'Andre Swift

NegativeUsage7:33

Jamie Eisenberg is lowering expectations for D'Andre Swift due to the week-to-week nature of Kyle Monongai's injury, which could impact Swift's workload.

Insight page

De'Von Achane

PositiveBust44:09

Devon Achan is identified as a bust candidate due to his role on a struggling Dolphins team and concerns regarding quarterback Malik Willis's low target rate to running backs. Despite his talent, Achan is expected to disappoint managers who drafted him in the first round.

Insight page

Derrick Henry

PositiveValue43:36

Dave Richard admits to underrating Derrick Henry in his initial rankings. He believes Henry can bounce back in 2026 and is a viable early-round pick, especially in non-PPR or half-PPR formats.

Insight page

DeVonta Smith

PositiveBreakout26:46

Jamie Eisenberg names DeVonta Smith his fantasy MVP, noting that with A.J. Brown gone, Smith has the opportunity to be the alpha receiver and potentially finish as a top-five wide receiver.

Insight page
PositiveProjection38:55

Devontae Smith is projected for an 'awesome' season, with Dave Richard noting he has averaged 17.1 PPR points per game in games without Dallas Goedert and A.J. Brown. Even with potential struggles from Jalen Hurts, Smith's target volume and talent suggest he will outperform his third-round draft position.

Insight page

Emeka Egbuka

NegativeInjury37:09

Dave Richard is nervous about Emeka Egbuka's ceiling due to a lingering turf toe injury that could persist all season. While still a viable starter, expectations have shifted from a potential top-10 wide receiver to a top-20 range performer.

Insight page

George Kittle

NegativeUsage3:35

Jamie Eisenberg does not consider Kittle a must-start for Week 1 due to concerns about his snap share and the strength of the Rams' defense, suggesting managers start Juwan Johnson, Mark Andrews, or Dallas Goedert over him instead.

Insight page

George Pickens

NegativeProjection45:03

Dave Richard expresses regret over not drafting enough George Pickens, predicting that the receiver will have a very good year.

Insight page

Jadarian Price

NegativeUsage14:03

Jamie Eisenberg suggests caution with rookie Jadarian Price in Week 1, noting that the Seahawks may ease him into the offense and rely on George Holani in a high-profile game.

Insight page

Jared Goff

PositiveValue25:37

Dave Richard names Jared Goff his fantasy MVP, citing his late draft position and the potential for a high-scoring season in a potent Detroit offense.

Insight page

Jayden Reed

PositiveValue37:03

Jaden Reed is a high-value target in round 11 (previously round 8) who could finish as a top-20 wide receiver. With potential uncertainty surrounding Josh Jacobs' availability, the Packers are expected to lean more on their passing attack, benefiting Reed, who has averaged 16 PPR points per game in contests with at least five targets.

Insight page

Jaylen Waddle

PositiveProjection17:03

Dave Richard expects Jalen Waddle to be the target leader for the Broncos this season, noting his curiosity about how Waddle will be deployed in the slot against the Chiefs.

Insight page

Jaylen Warren

PositiveProjection12:08

Jamie Eisenberg prefers Jalen Warren for the full season, despite preferring Rico Dowdle for Week 1, noting that Warren and Dowdle are ranked back-to-back.

Insight page

Jeremiyah Love

NegativeUsage8:51

Dave Richard ranks Jeremiah Love as a top 24 running back for Week 1 but notes that Tyler Allgeier will likely cut into his workload, particularly in short-yardage and goal-line situations.

Insight page
PositiveValue33:42

Jeremiah Love is highlighted as a value pick falling to the third or fourth round. Despite a preseason injury, he is expected to be featured in the offense after a few games, and his current ADP makes him a strong candidate to outperform expectations in a weak rookie class.

Insight page
NegativeProjection41:05

Dave Richard does not expect a huge year from Jeremiah Love in 2026 but anticipates enough positive signs to make him a first-round pick in 2027, supported by improvements to the Cardinals' offensive line and quarterback situation.

Insight page
NegativeBust50:32

Jeremiah Love is flagged as a bust based on draft value, as he is unlikely to live up to his third-round ADP. Factors include a difficult schedule, lingering injury concerns, and a committee backfield where Tyler Allgeier may steal goal-line work.

Insight page

Jonah Coleman

NegativeValue42:06

Dave Richard admits to potentially drafting too much of rookie running back Jonah Coleman. His role depends heavily on J.K. Dobbins' health, though Richard remains impressed by Coleman's preseason film and college production.

Insight page

Jordyn Tyson

NegativeBust52:26

Jordan Tyson is considered a waste of a draft pick due to an injury that will keep him on IR to start the season. There is significant uncertainty regarding when he will return and how effective he will be, making him a potential lost-year candidate.

Insight page

Justin Jefferson

NegativeProjection36:14

Dave Richard ranks 11 running backs ahead of Justin Jefferson, citing concerns about Kyler Murray's consistency and passing volume. While Jefferson will bounce back, he is not expected to reach his previous elite production levels, as Murray is unlikely to throw for 30+ touchdowns.

Insight page
NegativeValue59:13

Justin Jefferson is viewed as a late-round one or early-round two pick, but he is ranked behind 11 running backs. Concerns about Kyler Murray's quarterback play limit Jefferson's upside despite his individual talent.

Insight page

Juwan Johnson

PositiveUsage3:50

Jamie Eisenberg recommends starting Juwan Johnson over George Kittle in Week 1, noting that many managers drafted them as a pair.

Insight page

Kaelon Black

PositiveSleeper32:07

Jamie identifies Kalon Black as the primary 'next man up' behind Christian McCaffrey in San Francisco. Given McCaffrey's heavy workload history and age (30), Black is positioned as a potential league-winner if he secures the lead-rusher role, making him a top candidate for fantasy rookie of the year.

Insight page

Kenneth Gainwell

PositiveUsage15:35

Jamie Eisenberg views Kenneth Gainwell as a viable flex play for Week 1, especially in a game projected to be a high-scoring shootout.

Insight page

Kyler Murray

NegativeProjection57:36

Kyler Murray is not trusted to be a consistent top-12 quarterback. Despite having good receivers, his history of inconsistent fantasy production and low passing volume in Kevin O'Connell's system raise doubts about his ceiling.

Insight page

Luther Burden

PositiveUsage7:10

Jamie Eisenberg views Luther Burden as a top 20 wide receiver for Week 1, noting that he would easily become a top 15 option if Rome Odunze is ruled out.

Insight page
NegativeProjection38:24

Dave Richard is skeptical of Luther Burden reaching a top-12 or top-16 wide receiver ceiling. While Burden should see 6.5 to 7.5 targets per game, Richard is concerned about his red-zone usage, noting that Colson Loveland and Rome Odunze are likely to command more end-zone targets.

Insight page

Malik Nabers

NegativeProjection41:43

Dave Richard expresses some nervousness regarding Malik Nabers' 2026 performance but believes he will show enough to be a confident first-round pick for next season.

Insight page

Marvin Harrison Jr.

PositiveBreakout18:32

Jamie Eisenberg notes that Marvin Harrison's performance with Jacoby Brissett in four games last year showed breakout potential, and he hopes to see that materialize in Harrison's third season.

Insight page
PositiveBust39:38

Dave Richard is out on Marvin Harrison Jr., arguing that Michael Wilson is the better, faster player. Richard believes Harrison was overdrafted and will not break out unless there is an injury to other teammates, though he acknowledges Harrison's value as a consistent end-zone target.

Insight page

Mike Evans

NegativeUsage2:21

Dave Richard is okay with starting Evans as a flex in Week 1 but advises keeping expectations in check due to the Rams' improved secondary and man-to-man coverage additions.

Insight page
PositiveValue28:44

Dave Richard names Mike Evans his fantasy MVP, highlighting his falling ADP into the seventh round and projecting him for 1,000 yards and double-digit touchdowns.

Insight page

Puka Nacua

PositiveUsage5:17

Puka Nacua is expected to play in Week 1 and should be in fantasy lineups as long as he is active.

Insight page

Rhamondre Stevenson

PositiveUsage5:24

Dave Richard is starting Rhamondre Stevenson in Week 1, citing his expected high volume of touches and an improved Patriots offensive line featuring additions like Elijah Veritaker and Will Campbell.

Insight page

Rico Dowdle

PositiveUsage11:47

Jamie Eisenberg prefers starting Rico Dowdle over Jalen Warren for Week 1, as he expects the Steelers to play with a lead, which might obscure the true pass-catching hierarchy in the backfield.

Insight page

Rome Odunze

NegativeUsage6:54

Jamie Eisenberg advises caution with Rome Odunze for Week 1 due to his injury status, suggesting managers compare him carefully against other options in the rankings.

Insight page

Saquon Barkley

NegativeUsage44:10

Dave Richard regrets not drafting more of Saquon Barkley, noting that he preferred Ken Walker and Amari Hampton during drafts. Richard is optimistic about Barkley's increased passing game usage and a healthier offensive line.

Insight page

Terry McLaurin

NegativeProjection55:55

Terry McLaurin is not expected to repeat his elite 2024 performance, with concerns about his age, the offensive line, and the presence of Stefan Diggs. A top-20 finish is considered unlikely.

Insight page

Tre Tucker

PositiveSleeper45:29

Dave Richard recommends adding Trey Tucker from the waiver wire if he is available, noting he is unrostered in about half of CBS Sports leagues.

Insight page

Trey McBride

NegativeBust39:53

Dave Richard explicitly labels Trey McBride as a bust candidate for the 2026 season, despite acknowledging that the Cardinals might have a decent passing offense.

Insight page
PositiveBust48:35

Trey McBride is considered a bust candidate because his target share is expected to decrease with Michael Wilson's emergence and a difficult schedule. Additionally, potential quarterback instability and a slow start to the previous season raise concerns about his consistency.

0:00Are you ready for the season to start? Yeah, you are.
0:03You know you love that NFL tradition, Wednesday night football.
0:06Tomorrow we've got football for you and week one will begin.
0:09But right now it's awards time here on Fantasy Football Today.
0:12We're giving out awards before the season even starts.
0:14Who's going to be the fantasy MVP? Who's going to be the fantasy rookie of the year?
0:19And thank you so much for being with us for the next hour or so.
0:23As we go through it, we're also going to give you some big injury updates and some storylines that we're looking forward to seeing.
0:29In week one, I am Adam Azer with Dave Richard.
0:32Dave, is it true that in high school you were voted most likely to be on a famous game show?
0:38No, that was not true. I was most likely to be in the movies in high school.
0:42I had a completely different career path. Oh yeah.
0:45Something to talk about another time. Yeah, I would actually like to hear that story.
0:49Jamie Eisenberg, is it true you were voted most likely to have a famous family member?
0:53No, the family member was famous before I was in high school.
0:56So that was already established. So you're 0 for 2.
0:59Good job. Okay. Would you believe, I'm sure you would, that I was voted most humorous in eighth grade?
1:04Right? I would believe that. I would also believe that you were voted most likely to be the worst backup goalie in the history of your high school.
1:12Weren't you homeschooled? No, I wasn't. That was a good one.
1:15You should have been most humorous. All right, let's talk about week one injuries here and let's talk about the 49ers.
1:21They should sponsor an injury segment. McCaffrey, Evans, Kittle.
1:23Dave, how are you ranking all of these guys who have been banged up?
1:27I'm ranking them as if they're going to play.
1:29And in the case of McCaffrey and Kittle, these are must start guys.
1:33I'm not going to think twice about it as long as they're out there.
1:37I know it's a tough matchup for McCaffrey, especially, but I want him in my lineup.
1:41And you drafted Mike Evans probably in that wide receiver two flex range.
1:44I'm okay with him as a flex as well.
1:47A little bit worried about just how effective he'll be.
1:50I do like the improvements that the Rams made on defense.
1:53Obviously, that's easy to say with Myles Garrett and Aaron Donald being there, but even in their secondary, they have both the
1:59starting cornerbacks from the Chiefs last year. I think that was done to improve their man-to-man coverage and that'll make it a little bit harder on Mike Evans.
2:06So I would have expectations in check for Mike Evans, but I'm happy that he's going to play and that he downplayed
2:12his injuries because we want Mike Evans to play.
2:15Jamie, do you consider George Kittle a must start?
2:17I'm just worried about his snap share. I do not consider him a must start.
2:21I think this is the one game where you kind of want to see what he looks like and see exactly what
2:27he's going to do from a playing time standpoint.
2:30So you're right. I think if you picked up or drafted Juwan Johnson along with George Kittle, I know you did that a lot.
2:36That's a move that I would make. I would start Johnson over Kittle.
2:40I think if you drafted early in the process and you drafted Jake Tonjes, for example, I'd probably play Kittle over Tonjes,
2:46but there's a sliding scale of the tight ends that I would play over him.
2:50So like Mark Andrews was somebody that we saw paired with Kittle.
2:53Dallas Goddard, we saw that pairing as well. You know, those guys I think are just in a better spot than Kittle this week.
3:00As we know with him, it could take one play and he's going to make your fantasy week.
3:04But Dave just alluded to it. The defensive additions and changes for the Rams are so good that if you have a
3:10question mark, and I really do about Kittle, I'm sure a lot of people do as well, I would sit in this week.
3:17Okay. Pukinokua we're expecting to play. He'll be in lineups as long as he's active.
3:21But Travion Henderson on Wednesday, Dave, doesn't look like Travion's going to play.
3:24How good of a start is Ramondre Stevenson against what was a really tough matchup in 2025?
3:29And I still think it's going to be a really tough matchup, but I would absolutely use any running back that's going
3:35to get almost all of the touches in his team's offense.
3:38And that's what it looks like is going to happen for Ramondre Stevenson this week.
3:42And let's not forget that by the time that the Patriots played in the Super Bowl against the Seahawks, it was their 21st game of the year.
3:49Their left tackle was banged up. The interior of that offensive line was as good.
3:53Now look at what the Patriots have done this offseason.
3:56They added Elijah Veritaker at guard. They're healthier now.
3:59Will Campbell is healthier now. They kicked Jared Wilson inside.
4:01I think this is a better offensive line across the board for New England.
4:05And I think Ramondre Stevenson can benefit in this first game.
4:08I'm starting him. Jamie, let's talk about the Bears facing the Panthers this week and a couple of playoff teams from last year.
4:14We got Romo Dunze and Kyle Monongai on the injury report.
4:17How much does their availability impact the rankings this week?
4:20I mean, we're going to find out just how healthy they are.
4:23You know, Dunze, they downplayed the injury when he got hurt last week, same day that DeAndre Swift got hurt and gave us all a scare.
4:30So if he's out, that makes Luther Burden easily a top 15 wide receiver.
4:34He's already a top 20 wide receiver for this week.
4:37So I think you just continue to start him with confidence.
4:40So Dunze, I'm going to be a little bit cautious about now, just depending on who I'm comparing him to in the rankings.
4:46But you hope to see him get in some level of practice this week.
4:50And it's not going to change anything for Colston Loveland or Caleb Williams.
4:53I think in the case of Monongai practicing, that's a very positive sign for him.
4:58I'm not going to play him, but I am going to be a little bit more cautious with DeAndre Swift.
5:03Certainly if I'm still drafting on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, anytime before Sunday, I'm going to lower some of the expectations I had
5:09for him because we heard week to week with Monongai.
5:12And the fact that he's able to practice leading into week one is a very positive sign for him.
5:17So we'll see just in terms of his participation and what his level of game script will be.
5:22But I don't expect to see much from Monongai, at least for this week.
5:26But it's a positive sign, again, that he's practicing prior to week one.
5:29Ashton Gentry facing the Dolphins. Jeremiah Love at the Chargers.
5:32Both look like they're going to play certainly Gentry.
5:34And the Cardinals said they're optimistic about Jeremiah Love.
5:37I guess I shouldn't say certainly Gentry, but it's trending in that direction.
5:40Dave, if Gentry and Love play this week, are they must-start running backs?
5:44They're number two running backs. I can find 12 other runners that I'd rather start than either one of these guys.
5:50And I like the matchup for Gentry considerably better than the one that I like for Jeremiah Love.
5:54And really, the whole bottom line is, are these guys going to get workhorse touches, or are they going to end up splitting with another running back?
6:02We know that Jeremiah Love will have company in Tyler Algier.
6:05Here, Algier, certainly a successful short yardage and goal line running back.
6:08That's just one area that the Cardinals can take some pressure off of Jeremiah Love.
6:12And then Gentry certainly can handle that role. But Mike Washington had a great preseason.
6:16He had a great training camp by all accounts.
6:19He could end up taking some low-value touches away from Ashton Gentry.
6:22And then Gentry has in the neighborhood of 15 touches and not 20 touches.
6:26I like Gentry better. He's closer to a top 12 running back.
6:29Both of them are top 24. All right, we're going to keep an eye on Jonathan Brooks.
6:34We're going to keep an eye on Emeka Egbuka.
6:36It looks like Alec Pierce is going to play this week.
6:39We've had a pretty good injury report, I think, over the last few days.
6:43Some guys that we had questions about are trending in the right direction for Week 1.
6:47So I want to ask you guys some of the storylines that you're looking forward to seeing.
6:52I mean, we've been speculating about backfields and wide receiver units and how targets are going to be distributed and those types of things.
6:58But, Jamie, I'll ask you, which backfields are you keeping a close eye on in Week 1 that you think could really
7:04tell us about what's going to happen in the future?
7:07Pittsburgh is certainly one of the ones on the top of the list.
7:11You know, I think we're not going to get really a full example of maybe how this works because I think the Steelers play with a lead.
7:18And by doing so, I don't know if we get the full scope of who's going to be the best pass-catching running
7:24back there, especially if they're chasing points. So I actually prefer Rico Dowdle for Week 1.
7:28I prefer Jalen Warren for the season, but they've been basically ranked back-to-back, and I've shuffled them back and forth almost on a week-to-week basis.
7:35So that's one I kind of want to see what the usage is, if there's a goal line opportunity or two, if
7:41there's some obvious third-down situations, you know, to see who's going to be on there, if they're going to throw to their
7:47running backs on first and second down. Remember, it's a new offense.
7:50So Mike McCarthy's system different than Arthur Smith's system, but you still have a very immobile Aaron Rodgers who's probably going to
7:56need his running backs to catch passes, which both guys can do, and they kind of sort of interchange their roles.
8:02I think you want to see what happens in Washington with those two guys there, Ja'Cory Krosky-Meritt and Rashad White.
8:07That's one you want to kind of keep an eye on and see how that sort of unfolds.
8:12Jacksonville, to see what happens between Bejal Tootin and Chris Rodriguez.
8:15I think they both could be successful in the game against Cleveland, meaning maybe one finds the end zone, maybe the other
8:21gets the majority of the work, and I think you could probably figure out which does which, with Tootin being hopefully the workhorse guy there.
8:28So there's several backfields I think we kind of want to see just how this workload is distributed in Week 1.
8:34I just don't know if we're going to get the definitive answer in some of these situations.
8:38I'll give you one more, and it's in the very first game of the year.
8:43It's Seattle with Jadarian Price and George Helani. I know we're all excited about Jadarian Price, and certainly he's got the talent
8:48to be a great running back, but think about what this Seahawks team did last year with its running backs, and think
8:54about how they might want to ease this rookie in in a spotlight game, his first NFL game.
8:59Obviously, if he gets a hot hand, they will let him run, but they trust what they've got in George Helani.
9:05That's a running back that might belong on fantasy benches to begin the year.
9:09Yeah, and I think Bucky Irving is someone I'm keeping a close eye on here.
9:13With Sean Tucker, a game-time decision this week, but I just want to see Bucky Irving get off to a great start
9:19here because I think he could end up being a really good pick in fantasy drafts if you took him in Round
9:255 earlier in the process, or maybe he moved up.
9:28I know we were always a little lower on him than ADP, but if you took him in Round 4, he could still really pay off.
9:35I certainly expect Gainwell to play on passing downs, but if Bucky Irving can get 15 or more touches, I think that'd be awesome for him.
9:42I think they're both great plays this week, though, Adam, because this is the highest projected total of the week one slate.
9:48So you could see Bucky getting the rushing opportunities, especially, like you said, if Tucker's out, and then if he gets into
9:54a shootout like we expect, then Kenneth Gainwell can definitely be at least a flex for you.
9:58Yeah, I mean, there's so much. I would love to just maybe do a mock draft after week one.
10:04And see what changes. I don't think we'll do it.
10:06It'll be kind of an interesting exercise. We should.
10:09It sounds fun. We should. Yeah, we should do it.
10:11All right. How about target distributions? Receivers and tight ends and running backs and all that.
10:16Dave, give me a team you're looking at in terms of how they're going to distribute those targets.
10:21I'm real curious to see what the Broncos do.
10:23They got Jalen Waddell this offseason. I've certainly talked him up from the moment that the trade went down, thinking that he
10:29was going to be the target leader for the Broncos.
10:32How big of a target leader will he be?
10:34And this is a big-time game for them against Kansas City.
10:37And I mentioned that Kansas City lost both of their starting quarterbacks to L.A.
10:41this offseason. That means they're starting two new guys, one guy they've had on the team before, but the other one is first-round pick Mansoor Delane.
10:48I'm real curious to see how Denver deploys Waddell in this game.
10:51Is he going to play in the slot a lot?
10:54And does that mean that the target volume won't be there for Corlin Sutton?
10:58Pat Bryant's name got a lot of attention in training camp.
11:01What kind of workload does he get through the air?
11:04So I'm real curious to see. That would probably be the first team on the list for me.
11:09Jamie? Yeah, Arizona. I think just looking at what happens with Marvin Harrison and Michael Wilson and just to see how those
11:15two guys are going to be used. We heard the start of the offseason when Michael Floor says, we're going to have
11:21Wilson in the Puka Nakua role, and we're going to see Marvin Harrison in the Devontae Adams role, but there was no
11:27Trey McBride with the Rams, so how does that all come together?
11:30And then you see Harrison have a very bad start to training camp with a lot of drops, and then just it's highlight after highlight after highlight.
11:37We don't hear a lot of Michael Wilson, but you like what his usage is in the preseason.
11:42So I think there's still a lot of unanswered questions for this, the duo there, and then Factory and McBride as well.
11:48The run game should be better. The schedule's going to be awful.
11:51It's just hard to get past how little Michael Wilson did last year when Marvin Harrison was healthy.
11:56And so hopefully that's not the case for people that are investing in Michael Wilson.
12:00And it would be nice to see a full season of Marvin Harrison with Jacoby Brissett because those four games when those
12:06guys were together, it looked like we were going to get that Harrison breakout.
12:10So it would be nice to see that happen in his third year in the NFL.
12:14Yep, Arizona for sure. I think San Francisco, although I don't know that we can draw too much from any team that's
12:20going to play the Rams this year. It's just like a really, really tough matchup.
12:24But how is San Francisco going to distribute those targets?
12:27What does Stribling do in his first game? That's really interesting.
12:30Pittsburgh will be interesting. And you know what, guys?
12:33Before we go to break, I'm just looking. I heard what you said, Dave, about Jalen Waddell against this secondary that's going to be starting a rookie.
12:40And LeJarius Sneed looks like he might be their slot corner, and he's been pretty bad for the last couple years.
12:46And I'm looking at the line, man. How are the Chiefs favored?
12:49Bold prediction. The Broncos smash the Chiefs in Arrowhead on Monday Night Football.
12:52They win by at least 10 points. The Broncos are a better team.
12:56They should be favored in this game. What do you think?
12:59I think if that were the public perception, it would be a much closer line.
13:03But I think the public perception is Patrick Mahomes is coming back and Kenneth Walker's in Kansas City, and it's Andy Reid, and it's a Chiefs home game.
13:11And so the public is going to lean toward Kansas City.
13:14Jamie? I mean, you're not wrong. The Broncos are a better team.
13:17It's just, you know, sometimes we see these week one upsets where it's like, oh, I forgot about this team.
13:22I forgot about this player. Not that people are forgetting about the Chiefs.
13:26But you don't hear them Super Bowl favorites like we've heard every year for the last, you know, 10-plus years or whatever
13:32it is, eight-plus years since Mahomes has been in the NFL.
13:35Wouldn't shock me if they win this one. And then they kind of go on a little bit of a run here to start.
13:41Their schedule, they get the Dolphins and the Raiders before they're by.
13:45So, like, they could get off to a great start.
13:47And if they do so with this particular game, I think we get, you know, back in the – we get the
13:53Chiefs back in the mix of some fun conversation.
13:56So it wouldn't surprise me if they win this one.
13:59Yeah, I mean, the Chiefs are really good probably, but the Broncos should have gone to the Super Bowl last year.
14:04They would have if Bo Nix didn't get hurt.
14:07Anyway, most likely to beat the Chiefs in week one would be the Broncos.
14:11We will have more superlatives when we come back on Fantasy Football Today.

15:02Terms apply. See site for details. Let the awards begin.
15:05We have a lot of—we have so many awards.
15:08We're going to win an award for most awards on this show.
15:11I think we'll at least be nominated. Okay, let's start out with some good, positive— You know what award we won't win?
15:17What's that? Best host? Best game show with Who Has More.
15:20You're saying that Who Has More is so good that it will take the awards away from this episode, or you're saying Who Has More sucks?
15:27Yes. Okay. We don't know. Good awards. Fantasy MVP.
15:29Dave, who's the fantasy MVP? And this takes into account draft value.
15:33I wish I had more of my life back after the way that this segment started.
15:37I'm going to go with Jared Goff as the fantasy MVP.
15:40Drafted late, potent offense. We all know what he's capable of doing in Detroit.
15:44He could have a Stafford 2025 type season. Better yet, he could have a Jared Goff 2024 type season.
15:49Remember that year? He got off to a little bit of a slow start and then finished from week four on with
15:5525.5 fantasy points per game in six point for passing touchdown leagues.
15:58The offensive line's okay. The defense is a huge question mark, and we know that the pass catchers are awesome.
16:04Who you got, Jamie? Oh, Devontae Smith. You know, obviously somebody very excited about since they made the move of getting rid of A.J.
16:10Brown, and I think we're going to see a big season for him.
16:14Thankfully, he's over the hamstring injury that he dealt with in training camp, and we've said this nonstop that the opportunity is there in front of him.
16:21The three games that A.J. Brown missed, nine targets per game is what he averaged.
16:25Over 16 PPR points per game is what he's averaged.
16:28I know you'll talk about, since you did this morning, what he'll do without Dallas Goddard, so I don't want to steal
16:34your thunder because you have him coming up in a later category.
16:37But, you know, for a wide receiver that you got somewhere in round three, we've seen him go at the beginning part.
16:43We've seen him go at the end part of round three.
16:46Anywhere from, like, wide receiver 13 through 18, I think he's got an opportunity to finish as potentially a top five wide receiver.
16:52There's just that much upside for him. So we've never really seen him in this role for an entire year.
16:58And so hopefully he stays healthy. Hopefully Jalen Hurts can get back on track because the last few years have been a
17:04little bit of a struggle for him. And once again, another new coordinator.
17:07But I do think Sean Mannion's system will favor Jalen Hurts in doing some different things.
17:12And I think that will open up some opportunities for Devontae Smith to be that alpha, to command those targets, and to
17:18reward fantasy managers that took him in round three and probably should have said, Oh, I might have taken this guy in round two.
17:24I could have been better off. I'm going to go with Mike Evans.
17:28Probably not in week one. And he does have a lot of tough matchups this year.
17:32And that could be a problem. But the 49ers the last two years, Juwan Jennings has led the team each of the
17:38last two years in end zone targets. I think Mike Evans is going to be that guy this year.
17:43And what I love about it, looking at CBS average draft position, if you're drafting on Tuesday, this guy's going in the seventh round now.
17:50So he has fallen so much because of the injuries.
17:53But hearing him say the injuries were no big deal, he could have played through them.
17:57I think he's going to have a really good year.
18:00I think he'll be about 1,000 yards. And I think he's going to score double-digit touchdowns.
18:04And because he's going so late, you're going to get a top 20 wide receiver as, you know, wide receiver 30-something maybe in ADP.
18:11So he's my pick for fantasy MVP. How about fantasy rookie of the year?
18:15Dave, we're going to keep it with the 49ers.
18:17We're going to keep it with the 49ers and the guy that would obviously benefit if Mike Evans misses time.
18:22And that's DeJuan Stribling, who was fast-tracked in the offense this preseason.
18:26Certainly looks like he's going to play a lot as the number two receiver.
18:29Yeah, that means ahead of Debo Samuel. Might be third on the team in targets over the course of the season.
18:35Actually, he might be fourth, which doesn't sound good.
18:38But it's the contingency upside that I would bank on here.
18:41And that's why he's on the bench in a number of my leagues.
18:44We know that Mike Evans, over 30, has a history of getting banged up.
18:48George Kittle coming back from injury, he's over 30.
18:50Debo Samuel, he's over 30. And he also has a history of getting banged up.
18:55And don't get me started on Christian McCaffrey, who turned 30 this year.
18:58Hopefully he plays a lot. But I think they want his target volume to go down a little bit in San Francisco on a week-to-week basis.
19:05Stribling can win one-on-one matchups. He's a physical outside receiver.
19:08He could be the guy that replaces Jawan Jennings as the end zone target.
19:12Not a bad idea if you're drafting on Tuesday to take Mike Evans in round seven.
19:16I don't mind that value. But get Stribling late because I think he's got a chance to be the best fantasy rookie.
19:22Yeah, handcuff a lot of your 49ers apparently. So Dave's going to do it with the receiver position.
19:27I'm going to do it at running back. And I think Kalon Black, if he gets the chance to be the lead
19:33rusher for San Francisco, can be the fantasy rookie of the year.
19:36And that just plays into Christian McCaffrey's history, which we don't want to see come up again.
19:41But two years in his career with over 400 total touches.
19:44Two years in his career, he missed the following season, playing up to only four games in that year.
19:49So coming off a season with 450 total touches in 2025, he's 30 years old now.
19:53Black appears to be the next man up. It could still be Jordan James.
19:57Could be a committee, which would be awful. But again, if you get to be the lead running back for San Francisco,
20:03it's been a very good opportunistic spot for a lot of players.
20:06And I think Black will be that next man up behind Christian McCaffrey.
20:10So if, in fact, we do get McCaffrey missing an extended period of time, I think Kalon Black will be a league
20:16winner for fantasy managers and the easy choice for the fantasy rookie of the year.
20:20Yeah, and I dug deep for this one here.
20:22I wanted to give a name that probably wasn't on people's radars.
20:26So I went with Jeremiah Love, and I think he's probably pretty good.
20:29But actually, I think he's going to surprise people.
20:32There's been so little buzz about Jeremiah Love right now.
20:34Think about how excited people were after the preseason game.
20:37We saw how good he is. And then he gets hurt.
20:40Looks like he's going to play week one. And he's fallen to round three, round three, four turn, basically.
20:45Obviously, you can go a lot earlier than that if people are excited about him.
20:49But this is a pretty bad rookie class. You know, we hated it for dynasty purposes.
20:54The wide receivers that went in the first round didn't exactly end up in great opportunities, you know, great possibilities for week one.
21:00So I think Jeremiah Love is really going to stand out.
21:03And I know, obviously, he's Dave and Jamie's favorite rookie as well.
21:06But I think he's going to be good value for you because he's going to fall into the fourth round in a lot of drafts.
21:13And, you know, it's going to take a few games, but they're going to get him featured.
21:18And he'll have a very nice rookie season. Unfortunately, I don't know if it's unfortunate.
21:22I don't have any Jeremiah Love. Maybe one league, but I might regret that.
21:25All right. Breakout player of the year. Dave, you'll start it off with Bejal Tootin.
21:30Liam Cohen's new Bucky Irving. I think that's what we're all hoping for.
21:33And maybe that we were hoping that that would be the case last year.
21:37But it turned out to be that Travis Achan in his last year in Jacksonville wound up being the best running back for them.
21:43But he's gone. He's in New Orleans. And now Tootin is at the top of the depth chart for Jacksonville.
21:49He's fast. He's violent. He should earn opportunities because of what differentiates him from Chris Rodriguez.
21:53And that's primarily his speed and elusiveness. I think he leads this team in carries over the course of the year.
21:59We're a little bit worried about touchdowns from him because Chris Rodriguez is the bigger running back.
22:04But note that last year, Bejal Tootin had a better success rate inside the five in Jacksonville than Chris Rodriguez had in Washington.
22:10And I think Liam Cohen will catch on to that.
22:13So I don't know if every single goal line carry is going to go to Chris Rodriguez.
22:17I think Tootin will get his fair share. I think he can end up being a big breakout running back.
22:23Very excited about Jaden Reed. You know, just seeing the fact that the Packers run game could be a little bit suspect
22:29with Josh Jacobs on the commissioner's exemplist. And we don't know exactly how that's going to all play out.
22:34So I think we're going to see the Packers throw more.
22:37And that's going to allow all of the receivers, you know, Christian Watson, Reed, and Matthew Golden, that's the order I would
22:43draft them, to all have big seasons. And Reed, 2023, was fantastic.
22:46He was healthy that year. But really, it's just about target opportunities.
22:4923 games in his career with at least five targets.
22:5215 of those games, he's been over 13 PPR points, averaging 16 PPR points per game during that span.
22:57I think we're going to see a very more productive passing attack.
23:00Don't know how great it's going to be in week one because Minnesota is obviously really good and going to put a lot of pressure on Jordan Love.
23:08But I think as the season unfolds, we'll see all three of these guys, including Tucker Crafts, who want to put all
23:14four of them in there in terms of the pass catchers, really benefit.
23:18But where you're getting Jaden Reed and the production that he's going to give you could actually finish as a top 20 fantasy wide receiver.
23:24So really loved the opportunity to draft Jaden Reed in round 11 based on his ADP.
23:29I was taking him in round eight, and I think he'll reward fantasy managers finishing close to a top 20 wide receiver for the season.
23:35Devontae Smith is my pick, and I'll just say, listen to what Jamie just said about him.
23:40But I'll also say that in 17 games over the last four seasons, without Dallas Goddard and with A.J.
23:45Brown, he has averaged 17.1 PPR fantasy points per game.
23:48If he does that as a third-round pick, that is an awesome pick.
23:52But I think he's capable of even more than that because that was without Dallas Goddard.
23:56Now he's without A.J. Brown. And even if Jalen Hurts struggles like he did last year, we still saw A.J.
24:01Brown put up good numbers, and that was with Devontae Smith.
24:04So there's not much holding Devontae Smith back here.
24:07He's going to have an awesome season. And let's get another superlative here, a positive one.
24:11We'll do some negative ones next. But comeback player of the year.
24:14Dave, I hope you're right about Malik Neighbors. Yeah, there's really only one answer here, and it's going to be Malik Neighbors.
24:20We don't know exactly what to expect in week one, but the fact that he didn't miss any training camp after an
24:26offseason full of doom and gloom is fantastic news.
24:29And I know there's concerns about the passing game in New York.
24:32Matt Nagy isn't exactly our favorite play caller. But even he had the sense to hyper-target Allen Robinson and even Darnell Mooney for a season in Chicago.
24:39He's going to do the exact same thing with Malik Neighbors.
24:42He's going to dominate targets for the Giants. You're going to be happy when you took Malik Neighbors in round three because
24:48he's going to perform like a round two or maybe even a round one pick this season.
24:53Yeah, I feel the same about Lad McConkie, you know, a guy that was just absolutely terrible in his second season in 2025.
24:59But we saw the upside in 2024 in his rookie campaign, and now there's no more Keenan Allen.
25:04There's hopefully a healthy offensive line, at least the offensive tackles.
25:07And you have a better play caller with Mike McDaniels.
25:10So McConkie getting all sorts of rave reviews. Justin Herbert's going to have a big season.
25:14And I think you just look at McConkie. 15 PPR points per game was what he was averaging in his rookie season.
25:20I think that's the floor. So I'm expecting Lad McConkie to come back and have a big year and almost do a
25:26lot of the same things Dave said. Could challenge to be a round one pick.
25:30Could challenge to be a top ten fantasy wide receiver.
25:33Somebody that fantasy managers, not necessarily forgot about, but I think, you know, you get the sort of polarizing view when you
25:39get to that spot in round three. Oh, he burned me last year.
25:43I don't think he's going to be good again.
25:45Yes, he will. He's going to have a very big season in 2026.
25:48I'm going to go with DJ Moore. What's he bouncing back from?
25:52Just being really bad. 9.9 fantasy points per game last year.
25:55It was a huge bust. In fact, DJ Moore had pretty similar ADP last year compared to what he has this year.
26:01But this year I think it's going to pay off.
26:03I know he's 29 years old and he really has had a pretty overrated career if you just look at his fantasy points.
26:10Only two standout seasons. Josh Allen's going to get the best out of DJ Moore.
26:14DJ Moore is going to lead that team in every statistical category.
26:17And I think he'll be around 15 fantasy points per game.
26:20He'll be basically a must start. Like Mike Evans, like I said earlier in this segment, not necessarily week one because Derek
26:26Stingley could be all over DJ Moore. But it's going to be a very good year for him.
26:31Who's going to have kind of a bad year?
26:33Who's going to be our least valuable player? Our biggest bust as a rookie?
26:37Those types of things. We'll talk about it in our next segment on Fantasy Football Today.
26:42The biggest bust, the worst rookie of 2026. Getting super negative here on Fantasy Football Today.
26:46Jamie, let's start with the biggest bust. Who's getting your preseason award?
26:49It's Devon Achan. You know, and I hate saying it because I love watching him play and I love the talent.
26:55I love what he's done for fantasy managers the last two plus seasons.
26:58But it's just a bad team that he's going to be a part of.
27:02And I'm very concerned about what I think has made him so special is his role in the passing game.
27:08So we'll see if Malik Willis continues to involve him.
27:10We'll see to what level he involves him because clearly he's going to throw him the ball.
27:15But this is a receiver that's been, this is a running back that's been so successful as a receiver.
27:20And now you have a quarterback in Malik Willis who statistically the last two seasons, lowest target rate in terms of throwing to his running back.
27:27So that's obviously a little skewed because he hasn't played very much.
27:30But I think we're just going to see a lesser version of Achan and a guy who was being taken at the end of round one.
27:38I was saying all offseason I wouldn't draft him until round two.
27:41I hope that that's where he ends up finishing as a round two pick.
27:45It could be worse. Remember, this is expected to be the worst team in the NFL.
27:49You listen to almost every prognosticator who says the Dolphins will have the first pick in the NFL draft next year.
27:55That's not going to lead to a lot of touchdowns.
27:57So I love that he's going to get a lot of work.
28:01I hope that's going to be the case for 17 games.
28:04But I just think Devon H is going to disappoint a lot of fantasy managers this year.
28:08I could see the Browns giving the Dolphins a run for worst team in the league this year.
28:13And the Dolphins are taking on the Raiders in week number one, which actually leads me to an interesting point about why
28:19Ashton Gentry is going to be the biggest bust.
28:22Obviously worried about his health, worried about the workload in part because of his health and the fact that he hurt his ankle in training camp this year.
28:29But also this offense isn't expected to score a ton of points.
28:33Here's the case in point. They're taking on Miami in week number one.
28:36Their implied team total is just 22 points. You would expect the Raiders to blow out the Dolphins if they had a potent offense.
28:43I know they've got Brock Bowers and that dude's a stud.
28:46And Gentry's a stud too. I'm just worried about how long it's going to take him to round into shape, how effective
28:52he'll be, how much work he's going to get.
28:54I kind of feel like taking him in late round two, early round three was the right time to take him.
29:00We should be thankful that the injury happened because now the draft value implied with him when we took him in drafts isn't anywhere near where it was.
29:07He was basically taking a full round later from where he was after the injury.
29:11And I think that that's okay, but I don't think he's going to be amazing.
29:15He's going to be the biggest bust. I'm going with Trey McBride, third round pick.
29:20Don't take him in the second round. And look, he's so good.
29:23And he's got two straight seasons with more than nine targets per game.
29:26And usually guys who do that, they do it again the next year and again and again until they're basically too old
29:32to get that type of target volume. It's impressive players on that kind of list.
29:36Why am I calling Trey McBride a bust? Well, I believe in Michael Wilson.
29:40And after Michael Wilson broke out last year, we didn't really have a lot of games where we had Wilson, Marvin Harrison Jr.
29:46and Trey McBride all playing and all healthy. But when they were all on the field, kind of second half of the
29:52season after Michael Wilson established himself, they all had about a 20% target share.
29:56This was a very small sample size, so I don't know what it's going to look like.
30:01But I think the target share is going way down for Trey McBride.
30:04I think Jacoby Brissett could get benched and you could have Carson Beck at some point.
30:09We've got the toughest schedule. We've got such good defenses in that division.
30:12A lot of things working against Trey McBride. He's a fantastic player.
30:16I don't love the situation. And just remember, the first six games of the season, he wasn't even that good.
30:21That was with Kyler Murray. So it's not like we've never seen Trey McBride not be great.
30:26So I think he could be the biggest bust.
30:28The worst rookie. Ooh, Jamie didn't like my rookie of the year pick, it seems.
30:32Jamie's going with Jeremiah Love for worst rookie. This is the crap on the Cardinals segment, apparently, because you got another one coming up that you don't like.
30:40This isn't about him being the worst rookie based on production.
30:43It's about being the worst rookie based on his draft value.
30:46So he's going to get drafted probably in round three or was drafted in round three.
30:50And I don't think he's going to live up to the billing.
30:53We talked about this already. You're looking at a situation where this is going to be a bad team.
30:59This is going to be a team with a very difficult schedule.
31:02Then you factor in that he's coming into the season at less than 100 percent.
31:06High ankle sprains tend to linger. We don't know when he'll be back to full strength.
31:10And you have a committee that could be bad if James Conner ever gets healthy and they decide to play him at some point later in the season.
31:18But Tyler Algier is most likely going to steal touchdowns.
31:21So tough offense, tough schedule, tough situation. I think people may end up overdrafting or not really getting the value that they got out of Jeremiah Love.
31:28So he should be the best rookie in terms of production.
31:31I just don't think we're going to have. I don't think we're going to have a similar situation where Ashton Gentry was a complete bust.
31:38But we're going to have a situation where I think a lot of people said, could say, I should have taken somebody
31:44else instead of Jeremiah Love in round three. All right.
31:46This might be me kicking somebody when they're down and maybe the most obvious bust pick of all for rookies.
31:52But I'm going to say that Jordan Tyson is going to be a waste of a draft pick, even if you took
31:58him in round 12 plus on IR to start the season.
32:01We're not going to have him to begin the year.
32:04We don't know when he's going to come off.
32:06We don't know how effective he'll be when he does come off.
32:09I'm scared it could be close to a lost year for Jordan Tyson.
32:13And the dude has tons of ability, but I just feel like all this time that he's going to miss on top
32:19of Chris Olave, Juwan Johnson, the things that those two did last year with Tyler Shuck at quarterback, they should be able to build off of.
32:26Remember, this offense really did not change that much from one year to the next other than Jordan Tyson joining the fray.
32:32And now Tyson, we just don't know when he's going to be back.
32:35So maybe the most obvious call to say that he's going to be the worst rookie.
32:40But I'm saying if you drafted Jordan Tyson, you better have an IR spot to slide him into because otherwise he's going
32:46to be wasting a spot on your bench. Yeah, I'll go with Carnell Tate.
32:50Just hate what we've seen from the Titans offense this preseason.
32:53I don't think we've seen any starting offense more than the Titans.
32:56And somehow they've been so bad, even going up against backups.
32:59Now, look, I think that could easily change, but it's not like we have a ton of reasons to believe in the Titans offense.
33:05We're all just hoping that Cam Ward takes the next step.
33:08And I don't really think that Carnell Tate was that great of a prospect.
33:12I think it was just a week-wide receiver draft and a weak draft overall, bad quarterback draft.
33:17And that's why he went so early. So I think he'll be fine.
33:20But I actually wouldn't be surprised if Wondell Robinson leads the team in catches.
33:24I think I probably would project that. Yards, probably Tate.
33:27But I also think they're going to get the other guys, the annoying I.O.
33:31Manners and DKs and Ridleys mixed in there enough to take away from Carnell Tate.
33:35He's a number three receiver, and he was going in the seventh round, basically.
33:39He's fallen, which is good. I think maybe now you get good value, but I don't think we're going to have a standout season from Carnell Tate.
33:46All right, the next award is the don't call it a comeback, because this is a candidate for comeback player of the
33:52year, but he still isn't all that good. Jamie, who you got?
33:55Terry McLaurin. You know, I was so excited about him when the offseason started and looking at this receiving core and really
34:01lack thereof in terms of who's going to be a member of the supporting cast.
34:05And not that Stefan Diggs at 32 years old is going to be the biggest reason why Terry McLaurin struggles, but it's obviously a reason.
34:12Then you factor in the offensive line and the concerns that we have there.
34:16And does Terry McLaurin have the ability to get back to the level that we saw in 2024?
34:21Remember, the majority of his career, he was always a good fantasy wide receiver.
34:24In 2024, he was elite in the first year with Dayton Daniels.
34:28And I hope fantasy managers just aren't reaching for that again or expecting that again, just because both are healthy.
34:33Last year, it was the contract situation for McLaurin.
34:36Got off to the slow start, and then Daniels got hurt.
34:39So I don't think he'll definitely be better than what we saw last year.
34:42I just don't think we're going to get another top 20 season out of Terry McLaurin.
34:47I wasn't drafting him that way, and I'm not expecting him to perform that way.
34:51Man, I hope you're wrong on McLaurin, but I kind of get where you're coming from on that.
34:56I like rooting for him. Does it count if we're messing with the Cardinals if I say Kyler Murray is the candidate
35:02for comeback player of the year, but he won't be, and he still sings.
35:06I can't. I've tried really hard. I can't buy into a quarterback who's averaged 18, 20, 20.8, and 20.8 fantasy points in each of his last four seasons.
35:13In fact, in those four seasons, he's played 40 games with at least 20 pass attempts, which is an issue in and of itself.
35:20That's 10 per year. But he had under 20 fantasy points in half of those games, 23 or fewer in all but 13 games.
35:26I know that he's in Minnesota. I know that we want to give Kevin O'Connell the benefit of the doubt.
35:32We did that last year. It was a mess with J.J.
35:35McCarthy. The camp reports weren't glowing about Kyler Murray either.
35:37I am willing to concede that he's got great receivers around him, and that's different from what he's had in Arizona.
35:43But I'm just not ready to say that Kyler Murray is going to finish this year as a top 12 quarterback.
35:49And that's the reason I'm putting Justin Jefferson in this don't call it a comeback category.
35:53I think he's going to be so much better than he was last year.
35:57Last year, he was probably the biggest bust in fantasy.
36:00He was a number three receiver. But I am not taking Justin Jefferson much.
36:03I don't think I have him in any leagues.
36:06I would take him if you're still drafting in the middle of round two.
36:10And I think he's kind of a late round one, early round two pick.
36:14But all of those top 11 running backs, I would take ahead of Justin Jefferson.
36:18And it's because two things. He's amazing, but Kyler isn't.
36:20You know, I just don't think Kyler's that good of a quarterback.
36:24I don't think he's a bad quarterback necessarily, but I don't really trust him to be a consistent quarterback.
36:29And you look at Justin Jefferson and when he's had his best years, look at some of the passing stats, just the raw passing stats for the Vikings.
36:36We're talking sometimes about 4,500 yards, 30 to 35 touchdowns.
36:39If Kyler Murray is going to bounce back, it's going to be partially because of his legs.
36:44He could still rush for 600 yards. He's just not going to throw that much.
36:48He's probably not going to throw 30 touchdowns. So that to me makes Justin Jefferson a guy that we're expecting big things
36:54from and he's going to bounce back, but he's not going to be the Justin Jefferson that we knew and loved.
37:00And now that was don't call it a comeback.
37:02How about don't call it a breakout? Waiting for that rap song to drop.
37:06But this is a breakout candidate who isn't going to break out.
37:09Jamie? I'm a little nervous just about Emeka Buka getting to the ceiling that we were hoping him to get to.
37:15You know, and it's really just because of the toe injury.
37:18We know turf toe, it can linger. It could be a problem.
37:21It could just be an issue all season long.
37:23And, you know, God forbid he re-aggravates the injury and then he has to miss time.
37:28So I'm still very excited about his upside. We saw it in the first five games last year when Mike Evans was in and out of the lineup.
37:35When Godwin was in and out of the lineup, Jalen McMillan was not a thing.
37:39And then Abuka comes into camp with all these expectations.
37:42And we were excited to take him in round three in some cases at the start of the draft process.
37:48And then he gets this injury. And all you hear is how good Chris Godwin looks and the role that Ted Hirsch
37:54is going to play and that Jalen McMillan is still going to be a factor.
37:58And so I just wonder if it's going to cap the ceiling of Abuka, who still is going to, I think, perform like a fourth round wide receiver.
38:05But that puts him closer to top 20 range.
38:08When I thought at the start of this, he could be a top 10 wide receiver.
38:12So that's still in the range of outcomes. I just don't think we get there this year.
38:17So still happy to start him week in, week out until proven otherwise.
38:20But again, my expectations have changed dramatically because of this toe injury.
38:24And, you know, to the same degree, I feel like that with Luther Burden, where I'm worried about him hitting that ceiling that we're talking about.
38:31I think he's going to be good. And obviously, by the nature of a definition of a breakout, it's going to be his best year.
38:37He's going to be better than he was last year.
38:40He's going to be a good borderline number two fantasy wide receiver.
38:43I don't think he makes any type of a leap to being a top 12 or even a top 16 fantasy wide receiver.
38:50His best four-game stretch last year, yeah, it was pretty good.
38:5315.2 PPR points per game. Those were all games without Romo Dunze on the field for Chicago.
38:57I don't know if we can just transfer that stat over and say, well, there's not going to be DJ Moore this year.
39:04It's the same thing. I don't know if it's the same thing.
39:07And we talked about receiving cores that we're real curious to see earlier in this show.
39:11I'm curious to see how the targets shake out in Chicago.
39:14And yeah, Luther Burden should be able to get around six and a half to seven and a half targets per game.
39:20I don't know if that equates to huge numbers.
39:23And I'm especially concerned about the touchdown numbers for Burden because he wasn't a huge factor in the red zone last year.
39:29And I suspect that with Colson Loveland on this team, as long as he's healthy, same thing with Odunze, those guys are
39:35going to get more targets in the end zone than Burden.
39:38I'm going with Marvin Harrison Jr. here for don't call it a breakout.
39:41Not a very popular breakout pick, I suppose, but I just haven't drafted any Marvin Harrison Jr.
39:46I've said some crazy things on this show. I said the Broncos are going to smash the Chiefs.
39:51I said Justin Jefferson's not going to bounce back.
39:53Trey McBride is going to be a bust. I'm setting myself for some serious freezing cold takes here.
39:58But I think that Michael Wilson's a better player than Marvin Harrison Jr.
40:01Maybe Marvin Harrison Jr. will show me something this year that he hasn't shown me already.
40:06But I think Marvin's a better fantasy option because he's an end zone, consistent end zone target.
40:10And touchdowns are a big deal. But I think Michael Wilson's just a better player.
40:15He's obviously faster. He can make guys miss. Marvin Harrison Jr.
40:18just kind of a big body guy. And I just unfortunately think he was overdrafted in the NFL draft.
40:23So I am out on him. I'm out on Trey McBride.
40:26I think they actually might have a pretty good passing offense.
40:29But individually, I think McBride's going to be a bust.
40:31And I think Marvin Harrison Jr. is just going to be kind of whatever.
40:35He's certainly not going to break out unless there is an injury to one of the other guys on the team.
40:41We have more awards. This wouldn't be the awardiest award show ever if we didn't have more.
40:46And we will come back with those awards after this on Fantasy Football Today.
40:49Welcome back, everybody, to Fantasy Football Today on Football Eve.
40:52Getting ready for week one. Let's talk about the most likely player to be drafted in round one next season.
40:58Currently drafted in round three or later. Dave Richard, who is most likely to be a round one pick next year?
41:03I might not expect a huge year from Jeremiah Love.
41:06But I am sure we're going to see signs of him playing well.
41:09And that's going to encourage us with the Cardinals making enhancements on their offensive line and at quarterback to take him as a first-round pick in 2027.
41:17Yeah, for me, it's Brock Bowers. And I'm cheating a little bit because he's the first pick in round three based on ADP.
41:23But, look, we know when tight ends hit and hit big and hit consistently, fantasy managers will get excited.
41:28And I think that's going to be the case with Bowers once we see him in Mendoza and what the future of this Raiders passing game looks like.
41:36So really excited about Bowers being the next Travis Kelsey, that Rob Gronkowski, that guy that we're looking for at the end of round one.
41:43Malik Neighbors, baby, is obviously going to be a first-round pick.
41:46He may have been a first-round pick this year if he weren't coming off the ACL and everything got delayed and he had that second surgery.
41:53Malik Neighbors, I don't know how great of a year he's going to have.
41:57I'm a little nervous. But I think he'll show enough to make people more confident next season.
42:01All right, player you fear you drafted too much of.
42:04Dave, you think you drafted too much. Jonah Coleman.
42:06Yeah, maybe got a little too excited about the rookie running back in Denver.
42:10It really comes down to, is J.K. Dobbins going to get hurt?
42:13And if he does, how big of a role will Jonah Coleman have?
42:17I love the way he looked in the preseason.
42:19I loved his film from Washington too. He's a good NFL runner, but maybe I just got on top of him a year too early.
42:26We'll see. That's a long season. Hopefully I stay patient with Jonah Coleman and keep him on my bench for as long as I possibly can.
42:33Yeah, you mentioned earlier, Adam, about D.J. Moore, and I totally agree that he's going to have a big season in Buffalo.
42:39But I drafted him, drafted a lot of Jonah Coleman too, but I drafted a lot of D.J.
42:44Moore just with the idea that the value was amazing, got him in some cases in round five, but I was drafting him in round four.
42:51I just think there's still top 20 upside here.
42:54I just hope that the schedule is not too tough, that he at 29 is not hitting that part of his career
43:00a little too soon as we saw last year, which could have been a reason why he only got 85 targets because
43:06a player of his caliber should have commanded a little bit more attention.
43:09So hopefully he could still reward fantasy managers as a top 20 wide receiver.
43:13And I took a lot of Christian McCaffrey because Dave and Jamie didn't.
43:16And I'm drafting sixth today, and I might take Christian McCaffrey again.
43:20So I'm a glutton for punishment. We know what the situation is.
43:23The good thing is it's been a very drama-free training camp.
43:26Not a lot of it. Oh, wait, there's been plenty of drama.
43:29Never mind. Christian McCaffrey is going to make or break my fantasy season.
43:33How about the player you fear you did not draft enough of?
43:36Dave, why do you hate Derrick Henry? I don't hate Derrick Henry.
43:39I actually love Derrick Henry. And maybe I underrated him a little bit and didn't put him high enough in my rankings
43:45to consider him as an early round two or even a late round one pick in the full PPR leagues that we do.
43:52He's a first-rounder in non-PPR. And you can even make the case in half PPR.
43:56But the dude's been a beast for so long.
43:58He did not have a great year weeks one through I think 15 last year.
44:02But I think he can bounce back from that in 2026.
44:05I'm going to say that I wish that I had more Derrick Henry by this time in November.
44:10I was very much out on Saquon Barkley last year.
44:13And it was the right call. And I wish I had a lot more of Saquon Barkley this year.
44:18And part of the reason I did not was because whenever it came up to the part of the draft where I
44:24had to take Barkley, I just like Ken Walker and Amari Hampton a little bit more.
44:28And so I took those guys almost constantly anytime Barkley was on the board.
44:32And I feel like I'm going to regret it because I do like the fact that they're talking up, using him more in the passing game.
44:39We didn't really see that much last year. I think he's going to get a healthier offensive line in front of him.
44:45Hopefully that'll be the case for the majority of the season was a big reason why he struggled last season.
44:51But this could be the last hurrah for him having one of those elite fantasy seasons.
44:55And I'm going to hate watching it on a lot of other people's fantasy rosters.
44:59I'm going to hate watching the Cowboys, especially in week one, go crazy.
45:03I did not have enough George Pickens. Really wanted to get him.
45:06And I don't know if I have any George Pickens, but I think he's going to have a really good year.
45:12It's tough to take these guys because you're going, you have to take them over other great players.
45:16But Pickens, Lamb, Dak, Javante, I have a lot of Javante, but the passing game, not enough.
45:21When we come back, your questions, your tweets on fantasy football today.
45:24Let's see what's on your mind here, Andrew. Dave, he wants a free spot on his bench here.
45:29Who should he pick up? Look to see if Trey Tucker's available.
45:32He's out there in about half of CBS Sports Leagues.
45:35If he's not rostered, get him. If he is rostered, look for Chris Bell of the Miami Dolphins.
45:40All right, next one. Jamie, I'll give this one to you.
45:43Half point per completion, drop Josh Downs or Chris Rodriguez for Baker Mayfield, Purdy, or Love?
45:47I probably would drop the quarterback just because I don't think you need to carry three.
45:52So if you can get away with that, let's super flex.
45:55We got to go, Jamie. Yeah, sorry. Tough one there.
