0:50What's up, friends? Welcome into Fantasy Focus Football Monday morning rapid recap.
0:54I am Daniel Dopp here with the incomparable Liz Loza.
0:57Hello, Liz. Hello, Daniel. We get to be together for this record.
1:01Yeah, very exciting. Usually you're in L.A. Today I am looking in your eyes in the basement of Bristol, Connecticut's ESPN building.
1:07Four. Yeah, we just got to watch a lot of football games together.
1:11We did. We're going to talk about a lot of them now.
1:15Sure. Let's dive into our WTF moments of the week.
1:18Boy, that escalated quickly. I mean, that really got out of hand fast.
1:22Liz, are we seriously still doing this with the Falcons quarterback?
1:25Well, I don't know how much longer we're going to have to, but I have a feeling that you are upset with the entire offense.
1:33You have a feeling. That is factually correct. I have a feeling.
1:37Might you want to unsubscribe? I would like to unsubscribe.
1:40Thank you, Liz Loza. You're welcome. I appreciate this.
1:43Listen, the entire Falcons offense looked awful. Once again, Cooper Rush, not serviceable at the quarterback position, did not get it done
1:49for the second week in a row. Not for his own value, but for the value of everyone else that we care about.
1:56B. John Robinson got bailed out in week one by a ton of receiving game work.
2:01Drake London did not get that lucky. And then again in this week, okay, at least four for 51 on five targets.
2:088.9 is better than nothing, but that's not where you drafted Drake London to be.
2:12He needs to be someone that is averaging closer to 15 fantasy points a game for your fantasy squad.
2:18Kyle Pitts, only one for 15 on three targets, Liz.
2:21Another guy that we drafted as a tight end one through the first two weeks of the season.
2:27Listen, he has 2.5 fantasy points. That's terrible. So I understand, yes, we'll get Michael Penix back soon.
2:32I definitely want to unsubscribe from this offense. But if we get Michael Penix back, I've got to roll it out there and trust it one more week.
2:41I've got to say we got to practice patience.
2:44I don't want to do that. After these two first weeks, with what I just had to live through for the Atlanta
2:50Falcons skill position players, I want to be done.
2:53But we got to wait a little bit longer, as much as it hurts.
2:57And hopefully with Michael Penix back under center, things will be better.
3:01Because if I have to live through another week of Atlanta Falcons football like that again, Liz Loza, I'm going to lose my mind.
3:08All three star players on the Falcons posting under 12 fantasy points apiece?
3:12Blech. That's no good. What about you? Well, my biggest WTF moment came via the quarterback position.
3:17I'm going to go a couple of places, get ready for a journey.
3:21If you look at the top producers from a fantasy perspective at the position, they go, Josh Allen, we know that, right?
3:28Thursday night was wild. Jared Goff. Understandable. Same game.
3:31Then Dak Prescott, Brock Purdy, Bryce Young, Tyler Shuck, Drew Locke, Kirk Cousins, Cam Moore, Deshaun Watson, CJ Stroud, and then finally
3:38a name I recognize and probably started, Joe Burrow.
3:40Whoa, do you know who's not on that list?
3:43Who? Caleb Williams, who put up a monster 37 fantasy points in week one.
3:47In week two, 7.7 fantasy points. He completed 15 of 26 for 138 yards, zero touchdowns, but he did manage an interception and three sacks.
3:55I should also mention bearing the lead a little bit here.
3:58He exited the contest in the fourth quarter with what is being reported as a hamstring injury, though it looked a lot worse.
4:05It did look a lot worse than that. This is one of the things we'll continue to get information on throughout the
4:12week, but as it stands right now, Schefter and a lot of other people reporting it as a hamstring injury, which seems
4:19better than what it could have been immediately following what it looked like.
4:23Well, if you were talking about the rest of the Falcons offense, the rest of the Bears offense also plummeted.
4:29Well, I guess they didn't have far to fall after week one, if I'm being honest.
4:34Roman Dunze, Luther Burden, and Colston Loveland all posted fewer than eight fantasy points apiece.
4:38Loveland, obviously, who we all thought was going to, quote, bounce back bigly, right?
4:43Just 1.3 fantasy points earned via his one catch for three yards on three targets.
4:47A silver lining, if you're interested in one, I might be because I'm biased.
4:51He did have an end zone look again this week, and Tyson Badgett just happened to throw the ball at his feet, so he couldn't catch it.
5:00Hey, at least he got an end zone look, though.
5:03I mean, that's better than not having one. Two weeks in a row, but no conversion.
5:08Well, I like your silver lining for what it's worth.
5:11Hey, let's do a new segment, Liz, called the Pete Weber Player of the Week.
5:15Are you kidding me? All right, we're going to talk about guys that just went off Liz Loza.
5:21Who do you think you are? Jamar I am is an unbelievably popular phrase within the bowling community that our producer, David Presley, and I know.
5:29Yeah, you taught it to me. When we showed it to you, yeah, you didn't even know that this was a thing.
5:35Did not know what a Pete Weber was. Thought maybe he invented grills.
5:39Stop it. Not the case, though. Give me your who do you think you are?
5:44I am player of the week, Liz Loza. Watch out, Justin Jefferson, because Jamar Chase is him.
5:49He converted seven of nine for 75 yards and two touchdowns.
5:52Wild, highlight-worthy grabs. He managed 26.5 fantasy points after a horrible week one showing where he managed just 3.2 fantasy points.
5:59And by the way, this effort was against the Texans, Derek Stingley.
6:02So we really love the bounce back. He is incredible.
6:06And in week three, they are going to the Steelers.
6:09Yeah, a couple of huge touchdown catches in that one that were awesome.
6:13How about for me? Mine is JSN. Pretty good.
6:15He's the new Justin Jefferson. Well, I guess we're comping him both to Justin Jefferson.
6:20Sorry, Justin Jefferson in this one. But he is quarterback agnostic right now.
6:24Drew Locke has not slowed down JSN at all.
6:27After an 8 for 122 and a touchdown in week one, which was good enough for 26.2 fantasy points, he upped it
6:33to 8 for 151 and three touchdowns, Liz. 41.1 points.
6:36JSN is wide receiver one heading into Monday Night Football.
6:39We talked about him in draft season. Yes. When we were talking about him and Puka Nakua.
6:45And it's like, listen, if you want to go with a safe option, JSN has a great floor.
6:50We saw all the things that you did. Jamar Chase also.
6:53Same situation. The other wide receiver that we thought could go one overall at the position in fantasy drafts.
6:59And we, both you and I, eschewed Puka Nakua because of potential injury issues and potential disciplinary action that might ensue.
7:06Now we're going into Monday Night and we don't know if he's going to play.
7:10We'll see how that one works out. But if you drafted either Jamar Chase or JSN at the top of your draft,
7:17you are feeling really good right now. All right.
7:20We're going to dive into our biggest storylines here from week two.
7:23And here we go. Liz, Justin Herbert stinks at football.
7:26Girl. I didn't see this coming and I am kind of freaking out a lot because I have a lot of shares
7:33of Chargers across all of my fantasy lineups in all of the leagues that I am in.
7:38Herbert is not getting it done. Mike McDaniel is not getting it done.
7:42How are you feeling about the Chargers right now after the first two weeks?
7:46I mean, I feel like it's embarrassing. It's embarrassing for the organization.
7:50They dropped a game to the Cardinals and then to the Raiders.
7:54This one at home, Justin Jefferson, 15 to 27 for 192, one touchdown, two interceptions and three sacks.
7:59This is an awful showing. The only player, frankly, who managed a good stat line was Omari and Hampton who carried the
8:06ball 23 times for 94 yards and a touchdown.
8:09We love that. He also got some action in the receiving game, two for 21.
8:13We like to see him peppered. Lad McConkie, though.
8:16Yeah. Came in with an injury. I want to believe that that was a part of this situation because he did not look great in this one.
8:24And you know what doesn't look great is the next six weeks of the schedule.
8:29Honestly, it's going to be very tough. This is what it looks like for the Chargers coming up.
8:34Next week is at Buffalo, then at Seattle, home to Denver, and at Kansas City.
8:39Okay. So that's three away games and one home game, but the home game is against Denver.
8:44Then you hit a bye. Then you're at the Rams.
8:47A little crosstown classic. That's right. Home to the Texans and then at Baltimore.
8:51So five of your seven next games are on the road and the two home games are against the Denver Broncos defense and the Houston Texans defense.
9:00This feels like a really tough stretch. I don't think he's startable in fantasy.
9:04I think Herbert, you have to now look at as a QB two.
9:08And it's probably just going to be Omari and Hampton that you have to start because of where you drafted him and
9:15what the running back position is and probably still Lad McConkie, but he won't be ranked as the high end wide receiver
9:21two that we were hoping to see in this potential breakout player.
9:25It'll feel more like a low end wide receiver two, wide receiver three flex option for us.
9:30If you weren't tilted enough, how about this? Deshaun Watson outscored Justin Herbert.
9:34That is wild to me. He looks like he's going to get another game after upsetting the Buccaneers.
9:40There was a little bit of a weather delay that went on, but a lot of us projected that Watson would go
9:46on the road for two games, drop both of them, come home, and then Shador Sanders would be named the starter.
9:53Not the case. No, this one looks unfortunately frustrating because he played well enough to have another game.
9:58Sure. Makes the case. And we were sort of hoping that this was going to be one of those situations where this
10:05was going to be two games with Deshaun and then we get Shador Sanders who a lot of, and you've talked about
10:12this, a lot of what we are comping our projections for this year too was last year based on what we did.
10:18Based on the production from last year, right. And that was all with Shador under center.
10:23So I want to see Harold Fannin, not with Deshaun Watson.
10:27I want to see Casey Concepcion also not with Deshaun Watson.
10:30And it looks like Deshaun played well enough in this game that he's going to get another run here, like you said, for the Cleveland Browns.
10:38I just really don't love this situation because it means we have to wait one more week and Harold Fannin, 10.4 fantasy points is fine.
10:46Six more than last week. We love that. Took advantage of the matchup.
10:50I wanted more. I still want a little bit more.
10:53We all want more. Out of Harold Fannin. I did want more out of Devonta Smith this week.
10:58We got that. And he smashed here in week two.
11:01After a really quiet week one, Liz, 10 for 117 and a touchdown on 13 targets.
11:06A couple things did help that along this way.
11:09Saquon Barkley only played 10 snaps before getting hurt and then left, was gone for a while, came back in the second half for a little bit.
11:17But clearly not the same situation there. Dallas Goddard also exited, so that might have affected the targets.
11:23But more than that, I think Devonta Smith was able to move around the formation more.
11:27You saw him taking more slots out of the snaps and he was able to exploit a much more favorable matchup.
11:34Absolutely. And Devonta, Dontavian Wicks, excuse me, five for 74 on six targets.
11:38Another week where he looked really good as the wide receiver two in this offense.
11:42But this was more. He's going to start making a case for a flex consideration.
11:47As we get into bye weeks. We start being without some of the guys in our player pool.
11:52I am with you on that one. Really happy to see Devonta Smith get back to what it is that we thought.
11:59Taking a quick break to tell you how Saturday's game time can get a little messy.
12:04Your crew came over to watch. Sacks on the table, drinks in hand, and somebody celebrating like they just won the whole season and beyond.
12:12And when that energy gets going, your walls can end up taking the hit.
12:16Whether it's a big spill or a noticeable scuff, that's where Bayer Ultra interior paint comes in.
12:21It adds an extra durable stain blocking finish that helps your walls hold up for the whole season.
12:27It also delivers outstanding coverage and hide in fewer coats with easy application and a smooth, even finish that goes on clean from the first pass.
12:35Plus that easy, clean finish helps walls stay looking new longer.
12:38So before the next kickoff, give your space game ready defense and coverage that goes the distance.
12:43Every game day starts before the lights go up, before the snap, before the roar.
12:48Something's already at work. Cleaner, quieter energy production running where the game lives strong enough for fourth and goal smart enough for what comes next.
12:55Powering game day, powering the fans and powering the communities that show up every Saturday.
13:00The same energy that runs your stadium runs the schools and the hospital in your neighborhood.
13:05That is performance powered by bloom energy, powering game days, powering communities.

13:39Liz, I'm not sure what to think about the Panthers wide receiving situation anymore.
13:43Why? They're getting fed. Well, they are getting fed, but is there a wide receiver one like we thought, or do we
13:50just sort of have like a wide receiver 1A and a wide receiver 1B?
13:54Well, this week we did see Tet rebound in terms of volume.
13:5810 targets. He led the team in looks. 15.1 fantasy points.
14:01He cleared 100 receiving yards. Love that. Coker also, though, if you picked him up on the waiver wire, you were rewarded.
14:08He's still producing eight grabs for 66 receiving yards.
14:11So definitely a piece of this offense. Now, Darren Waller did steal the end zone twice, which is a little bit confounding, but those could have gone anywhere.
14:19And like us millennials do, we don't chase waterfalls or touchdowns.
14:23That's right. We just chase volume. And the volume for both these guys was big for two weeks in a row.
14:29Curious to see if Bryce Young is for real, because these first two weeks have looked really nice.
14:35Game script has worked out for them to have some pretty nice matchups, even though they lost to the Bears.
14:41Game script was really nice for Bryce Young in that one.
14:44And here against the Falcons, their defense just looked awful.
14:47At Cleveland in week three. We'll see what that one looks like.
14:51How did you feel about Devon Achan? Because you knew I was panicked.
14:55I was so worried about what is this guy going to look like.
14:59I was told, including by myself, I talked myself into not worrying about what it's going to look like with Malik Willis under center.
15:06And I know that he had five targets in that first game, but they were down so much.
15:12I expected him to be utilized so much more.
15:14He is easily the best player on that team.
15:17They did not get the ball in his hands nearly enough.
15:20Here in week two, they put the ball in his hands a lot, Liz.
15:2520 carries, 74 yards though. That is not the efficiency that you want to see out of a player with Devon Achan's explosiveness.
15:32You mentioned the targets. We didn't really expect. In fact, he got six this week.
15:36We didn't expect that much from Malik Willis. Obviously, we knew with two under center, there'd be a lot more checkdowns.
15:43While those six targets didn't turn into much production, just three catches for 19 receiving yards, I think we're moving somewhere, right?
15:49And when you are losing like the Miami Dolphins are, at least you have a running back who's still seeing 20 carries.
15:56I do appreciate that. I appreciate the workload. It just doesn't feel as good to me as I had hoped it would with Malik Willis.
16:04You made a talent bet on Achan. I did.
16:07And I think a lot of people did because we weren't really sure about the Malik Willis situation.
16:12So we decided to play into this guy is unbelievable.
16:15I mean, when you put the ball in his hands, he is an electric playmaker right now, just not being utilized quite the same way.
16:23And that has definitely hurt his value through the first couple of weeks of the season.
16:28A few more things here, Liz. Is A.D. Mitchell for real, do you think?
16:32I think he might be real. This week, he led all wide receivers, all pass catchers, frankly, with 12 targets.
16:38He converted on half of those for six catches and 63 yards.
16:42He is certainly getting fed. You know, Garrett Wilson was targeted seven times.
16:46He caught five of those for 57. And he saved the day with a touchdown.
16:50So I think Garrett Wilson obviously remains the team's alpha in terms of production.
16:54But the A.D. hype that we saw over the summer is not buzz only.
16:59He is certainly a massive part of this Jets offense.
17:02And this is a team that's going to be trailing quite a bit.
17:06So we expect that volume to continue to stay steady.
17:09Yeah. In week three, they're taking on my Detroit Lions.
17:12I expect the Lions to score a lot of points as they usually try to do.
17:17A.D. Mitchell only rostered in 17% of leagues. So he will be a waiver target for sure as someone that you could look at.
17:24How about Drake May? I don't feel good about this one.
17:27Back-to-back weeks of Drake May failing to hit 10 fantasy points, Liz.
17:31Also failed to find the end zone in this game.
17:34Completed just 14 of 22 for 208 yards. Like I said, zero touchdowns and interception and took three sacks.
17:40Four interceptions and only one touchdown through the first two weeks of this season.
17:44And this next week, they're going on the road against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
17:48It feels like we are approaching or have approached bench territory for Drake May right now without A.J.
17:54Brown as his best playmaker. It doesn't feel like all of the things we were thinking would come to fruition are going
18:00to happen with Romeo Dobbs and the guys, unfortunately, in that wide receiving room.
18:05Yeah, he's having trouble converting. I think you're right.
18:07We just have to wait and see, but I would try to stream a different option, especially considering the matchup next week.
18:14I'm with you on that. Last question here really quickly.
18:17Are we dropping Marvin Harrison Jr.? Can we just be done?
18:20Girl, I would like to be done because in a game in which the Arizona Cardinals lost 7-31 while hosting the Seattle Seahawks, Marvin Harrison drew one look.
18:29Oh. They were trailing. You would think you would want to feed your theoretical wide receiver one.
18:34Nope. Also, he didn't convert on that one look.
18:37It does look, obviously, Trey McBride, an exceptional talent, led pass catchers with 10 targets, converted 8 of those for 41 and a touchdown.
18:44But behind him, Michael Wilson. You made a point as we were watching these games that Michael Wilson got paid.
18:50He does look to be the guy despite draft capital ahead of Marvin Harrison Jr.
18:55Yeah, three years, $75 million. It honestly feels like Trey McBride.
18:58I know he's a tight end, but Trey McBride is the wide receiver one or pass catcher one.
19:04Michael Wilson is the wide receiver two. And Marvin Harrison Jr.
19:07literally doesn't even factor into this offense. At this point, if you have him on your bench and you want to drop
19:14him for someone off of waivers this week, I don't think I would tell you not to.
19:19I would be totally fine if you want to move on from Marvin Harrison Jr.
19:24It is time for you to be able to allow yourself to have that option.
19:28And in week three, they're facing the San Francisco 49ers, a resurgent 49ers team.
19:32I don't like it at all. I just don't.
19:35I, I. Sometimes you got to let go of the brand name, right?
19:39That's what it feels like. You got to let go of it and just look at the data ahead of you.
19:46And right now, MHJ not posting much evidence to keep him rostered.
19:49Well, to keep him starting. I won't be starting him.
19:52That is for sure. And if I have him on my bench, it's because I want to believe in the upside of
19:59something that could come down the road. And if I believe that there's another player off of waivers that maybe has a
20:06little bit more upside, this is the first time I've ever felt like I could at least entertain the idea of dropping Marvin Harrison Jr.
20:13Isn't it wild that it's week two and we're already compartmentalizing?
20:17Bro, it's so, I hate it. I hate it.
20:19Every day is better with donuts, but who wants that sugar crash?

21:49Ouch, baby. Very ouch. All right. Well, we already talked about Caleb Williams, who left with again what is being reported as a hamstring injury.
21:57Saquon Barkley, who we mentioned, left the game. Bigsby did score.
22:00Saquon came back, but was rather underwhelming. Rather, the Eagles will face the Bears in week three, ironically.
22:05Jaden Daniels, oh, this was a tough one to watch.
22:08And we did not need to watch it as many times as it was replayed.
22:13Too many replays. Dislocated his elbow, the same elbow that he injured last year.
22:17You got to imagine he's going to be out for some time, but we will definitely keep an eye on that.
22:24Dallas Goddard exited with a knee issue. Jonathan Brooks left with a groin issue.
22:28He is currently being reported as day-to-day with that injury.
22:31Now, Chuba Hubbard, who did score in week two, would be the Panthers' RB1.
22:35So again, something to keep an eye on. Another running back, Jadarian Price, suffered a chest injury in the fourth quarter.
22:42Now, at this point, Seattle was way up over the Cardinals.
22:45Hence, in case people are looking at box scores, 21 carries and 92 rushing yards for Emmanuel Wilson.
22:51Jaden Reed had a scary moment. He had a neck injury.
22:54We are happy to report that he does have movement in all of his extremities now, though.
22:59So finally, David Njoku left with a knee injury in the Chargers contest versus the Raiders.
23:04And like we said, we will have more on that throughout the week.
23:08So continue to check in on Fantasy Focus. And with that, check out Fantasy Focus's Monday official podcast with Field and Mike.
23:15I will not be there, but Liz Loza, you will be there.
23:18I appreciate you holding everything down for me. And we'll see you on Tuesday as well.
23:23And make sure you hang out with us every single Thursday on Facts vs.
23:27Feelings. You can find that on the NFL on ESPN YouTube page.
23:31All right, guys, don't forget to love each other and be kind to yourself.
