0:00This is an iHeart Podcast. Guaranteed Human. We don't care where you hear it.
0:04We'll crush it and of course win this mock draft because I mean we're gonna see that obviously here early June.
0:09This is a real competition, right? We all want to come away winning this thing.
0:13It's the four of us by the way doing the mock against eight just kind of computers mocking through the sort of
0:19mock draft lobby that you can find at Fantasy Pros.
0:22So we will see how we do not only against each other but against the computer itself and what our grades look
0:28like at the end of the episode. Alfredo, it's been a minute since I've had you on.
0:32How you doing? I know. I know. Thanks for having me back, man.
0:36And Brian, just the secret is nobody wins in a mock draft.
0:39We all lose because we're gonna do an hour of this and be like, oh, I love this team.
0:44And then we don't actually have a league or you hate the team and you're like, I'm still not good at this.
0:50So yeah, we're just four losers. That's what it is.
0:53Where are you at Alfredo in your kind of pre-draft process at this stage in the first week of June?
0:58Are you feeling like you have a pretty good sense of how you want to approach things like this?
1:03Are you still feeling like you're in that experimental phase of like, let me try out new builds and see what I think about them?
1:10Where are you kind of at mindset wise? I think you have to stay a little experimental at this moment because ADP is always changing.
1:17It's still so early, man. It just I didn't even realize it was June until I looked up at the calendar.
1:22But just ADP is gonna be changing a lot over the next few weeks of the next month and a half, two months, whatever it is.
1:29And the cool thing right now is I feel like I'm getting a better idea of the offenses because I'm charting quarterbacks for reception perception.
1:36I feel like if you know the quarterback, you know the passing game, you know the tendencies.
1:41You can kind of have a good understanding of how the targets are going to go and how the offense is going to move.
1:47So as I'm learning that then seeing how ADP fluctuates, it's been kind of a cool thing to put together here as we're still a few months out.
1:55Jake, I don't need to ask you how you're doing because I talk to you most weeks on the show.
2:00But in general, how are you feeling about this mock?
2:03I don't feel like this is actually the first super flux one I'm doing.
2:06So try it like Alfredo said and I know Brian.
2:09I was like, we want to win. But at the same time, it's kind of a testament more.
2:14I think the biggest thing to take away from this is depending on when you draft.
2:18So like when we're done with this, if you are drafting in next month or two, we'll probably talk about a lot
2:24of the values that might be there. But because we talk so much about these values by the time we get to
2:30August, a lot of those values end up going outside the window and then people overdraft because they want to still get
2:36those players and not realize how much things have changed.
2:39I was afraid I was saying with the ADP being a big factor of it.
2:43Yeah, it's a good point about it being for me, too.
2:46I've done a lot of super flex dynasty like startup mocks and things like that.
2:50I have not done a super flex redraft mock yet in this kind of draft season.
2:54So we'll be kind of interesting to play around with that and see how it comes out.
2:58This is super flex. We have three receivers that we're drafting on each starting team.
3:02No kickers and defenses because nobody wants to see us mock draft those.
3:06It is half PPR. Those are kind of the basic rundown of the settings here.
3:10Reminder for everybody before we get started, all of our 2026 consensus rankings and tiers can be found at fantasypros.com slash rankings.
3:16And today's half PPR mock draft is done using our mock draft lobby.
3:19That's over at fantasypros.com slash draft wizard. Excuse me.
3:22Just like you'll see today, our multi-user drafts allow you to practice quick and fun mock drafts against both real and computer opponents.
3:28Using the same easy to use interface as our draft simulator.
3:31Public mock drafts are not yet available, but you can try our draft simulator for a lightning fast, realistic mock draft experience based on your league settings.
3:38Sync your league for free and try the draft simulator today at fantasypros.com slash simulator or on the fantasy pros app.
3:44I have the 101. I always pick on the end when I'm hosting because it's just easier to do that.
3:49Let me go ahead and unpause this draft. We'll get going.
3:52I've got the 101. I think Brian's at the 106.
3:55Jake, I forget. I think you're at the 109 maybe.
3:57And then Alfredo at the turn himself down at the 112.
4:00So we're all spread out here through this draft.
4:03Starting about 20 seconds here. I'm going first and I'll just say right now, like I will be taking Josh Allen.
4:08I'm not going to overcomplicate it. I'm open to a conversation about, you know, Lamar Jackson.
4:13He's won the MVP every time he's had a new play caller.
4:16You know, maybe he could do that a third time here with Declan Doyle.
4:20And I'm a Ravens fan. Drake May getting, yeah, Drake May getting AJ Brown.
4:23I could see, you know, the argument coming off of his stellar second season.
4:27But I'm just going to take the guy who's always a QB2 at worst and not overthink it.
4:32So Josh Allen will be my pick at 101.
4:34A terrible pick that's already getting, you know, called out here.
4:37The next few picks, by the way, let me pull up the draft board.
4:41I can see it. Lamar Jackson goes 102. Drake May 103.
4:44B. John Robinson 104. Caleb Williams 105 bringing us to Brian.
4:47There's a terrible pick. Yeah. Yeah, that one I'll more accept the call out of a terrible pick there.
4:52Brian, you're on the clock with 106. Yeah, I think the most important thing that I try to approach here in Superflex is know your draft.
4:59Know your draft because it's halftime. Halftime, it's running backs are going off heavy.
5:03Sometimes wide receivers dip in there. And then otherwise, it's like eight or nine quarterbacks going right off the bat.
5:08We do have eight computers in here. So I'm probably feeling they're going to lean more quarterback.
5:13I'm going to take mine right off the rip.
5:15I have Jaden Daniels ranked above him, but I'm going to take Joe Burrow here just to start us off.
5:21Joe Burrow at 106. Jalen Hurts 107. Jaden Daniels 108.
5:23So seven of those first eight picks have been quarterbacks.
5:26You're taking us to Jake. Jake, are you the type of drafter who in this scenario will say, I just want to get a QB no matter what?
5:33Or are you starting to think like, maybe I will just take Chase or Gibbs and kind of load up somewhere else.
5:39And so many QBs have gone off the board.
5:42That would be the latter. I was actually kind of curious how nine was going to fall.
5:46And that's why I took that spot. We did a sandwich between Brian and Alfred.
5:50It was always a nice place to be. But kind of curious after the big six or so quarterbacks were off the
5:56board and apparently Caleb Williams, what this pick was going to look like.
6:00And I'll just take the top wide receiver for my opinion.
6:03We've already had the discussion on another show with you, Worm.
6:06And I know a lot of people would take Chase, but I'm going to take Nakua, especially because everybody's healthy and assume
6:12health as of today for that entire team. So Puka goes 109.
6:15Jamar Chase right after 110. Justin Herbert at 111.
6:17Alfredo, you're on the clock with two picks. You kind of feel like you maybe need to get at least one QB.
6:23You can't go like, you know, for two months, although maybe you disagree.
6:27I'm curious to see what you do. What's your approach here?
6:30You know, it's funny. I picked the 12 spot without realizing this was a super flex draft.
6:34Had I known a super flex, I would have gone a little earlier.
6:38I was like, I love the 112 and redraft.
6:40This is great. And honestly, the way it's kind of shaped up, I'm kind of thinking I might have to zig while everyone else is zagging.
6:47Set up my team really nicely here. And then be like, cool, I've got the ninth best quarterback on my roster.
6:53And I'm always kind of punching up against my competition.
6:55So I am looking at some of these other skill guys here.
6:59And I think I can wait on quarterback, which I think is just going to be interesting strategy to try out here
7:04in the mock draft, because I think the position is still really deep.
7:08There's some guys I like later in the drafts.
7:10So I went Jameer Gibbs and Jackson Smith and Jigba to start this off.
7:14And I'm pretty happy with that. But we'll see.
7:17Maybe it comes back to bite me in the butt.
7:19It feels a lot easier to pass on quarterbacks, even in a super flex, when you're staring at the guy who could
7:25easily be RB1 and the guy who could easily be wide receiver one in this class with your first two picks.
7:31Or in this draft, I should say, in this first two picks.
7:34That's pretty appealing, I have to think. While Jake's on the clock, actually, I want to ask you, Alfredo, at the top, what would you have done?
7:41Would you have just gone with kind of the safety of Josh Allen, you know, May, Lamar?
7:46Maybe you're one of these other quarterbacks. You're a fan.
7:48What would you have done with one of those early picks?
7:51Yeah, if it's at the top, I'm still going Josh Allen.
7:54I think, like you said, there's an argument to be made for Drake May here, especially with A.J.
7:59Brown coming in. But we also were not getting the same kind of rushing from Drake May.
8:04Like, I wonder if the real Drake May is somewhere in between the guy we got first year, the guy we got second year.
8:10Like, is he going to run more? Is he going to continue to be an MVP caliber candidate?
8:15Josh Allen, we just know what we're doing and we know what kind of fantasy asset he is.
8:20So going with him at number one feels just like the easiest decision to make.
8:24Jake, after taking Kuka in round one, you take Jackson Dart here in round two.
8:28Was that the quarterback you were targeting with that second round pick?
8:31And if not, well, there's another quarterback that's still there.
8:34Brian might take it. I'm kind of curious what he's thinking.
8:37Ten seconds almost, dude. Hurry up, pick Brian. I want to see if he does it before he says the name.
8:42Make your pick. Five, four. Let's bring the pressure.
8:45Let's do it. Let's go wide receiver. Counting always helps, Gene.
8:48Oh, wow. Doesn't it? I actually thought it was Dak Prescott.
8:51I was the Dak Prescott and Jackson Dart were my top two quarterbacks, which is why I went to Kuka because even
8:57between them, they were still both available for me.
8:59And really, the tiebreaker comes down to Jackson Dart was 20 points per game.
9:03I don't know why he keeps getting counted for those first two because they weren't games that he really played.
9:08But 20 points per game, if healthy, is a big question.
9:11But also, Dak has week 14 bye. Like, I just, I hate a week 14 bye, staring that down when I have crucial players.
9:18Like, if this was the seventh round and it's week 14, I won't let it.
9:22But like, a tiebreak at that point to make that decision, I'll pass on that.
9:26Yeah. A bunch of receivers go here. Aminra, Justin Jefferson to Brian Hartman.
9:29Justin, CeeDee Lamb and Malik neighbors all back to back to back to back.
9:33Brian, talk me through your Jefferson pick. It just kind of seemed like a cliff for me.
9:37I could get a top end wide receiver here on the way back.
9:41Alfredo pointed it out. Like, there's going to be quarterbacks that fall.
9:44I really like Dak, and he was kind of a tier break for me where I might have taken him.
9:49But it's a mock draft. I want to play around with it.
9:53I want to explore. I want to find out what happens here.
9:56So, fingers crossed one falls back to me. Or if not, you know, I'm confident I can get scoop one up later in the third, fourth, and fifth.
10:03Dak and Mahomes go off the board at 210 and 211.
10:06I'm taking Drake London here at the 212. Just a player I love.
10:10I'm really excited about the addition. I mean, obviously, there's some question marks still at quarterback.
10:14But I'm really excited about the addition of Kevin Stefanski just calling this offense and what that can mean for London.
10:20And it's a three-receiver, you know, starting lineup here.
10:2212 teams. Like, I want to make sure I get a receiver early.
10:26Honestly, I could easily go with another receiver. I could easily go with a running back.
10:30I could easily go with a second quarterback. Having said all that, Brock Bowers in the third round.
10:35I'm just going to take that and, like, laugh all the way to the bank.
10:39I don't think there will ever be a scenario where I pass up on the guy who I think is the very
10:45firm tight end one this season if he's available in round three, even in a super flex format.
10:50I'm just very happy about that. So, Allen, London, Bowers, thrilled with this start.
10:53Like Alfredo said, I'm the loser because I won't get to play out this team as excited as I am with this start here.
11:00A bunch of running backs go off the board after that.
11:03James Cook, Jonathan Taylor, Derek Henry, then Brock Purdy.
11:05So, Team 5 here has their computer team, but they have their two quarterbacks off the board.
11:10Bringing us back to Brian. Let's, I mean, we're going to push the quarterback one more time.
11:14We're going to gamble. And where else better to gamble, right?
11:17Let's go to Vegas. Let's get Ashton Gentry. Let's bring in a running back here.
11:21Again, I want to get one of these top-end guys at the top of the board.
11:25I'm pretty confident I can clean up on quarterback here coming later.
11:29And yeah, those running backs, they went quick. Yeah, they start coming off the board around here in round three.
11:34Alfredo, where are you at on Gentry this year?
11:36Are you buying into a bounce back with the new play caller, new quarterback, everything in Vegas?
11:41Yeah, it's more so about the play caller than it is the quarterback.
11:45I don't think the quarterback's really going to matter this year.
11:47We kind of saw it didn't really matter all that much in Seattle either.
11:51Like Sam Darnold, yeah, he played better, but it was really, it was the structure of the offense.
11:56And Clint Kubiak, that's what he's always done is he's been able to run the ball.
12:00And really outside of last year in Seattle, his running backs have always been workhorse running backs.
12:05So Ashton Gentry and already hearing him comparing the workload to Christian McCaffrey, that's just nuts.
12:09I love the value. That's kind of why I set myself up at the 112.
12:13But hey, super flex. Am I right? Jake, you take your second quarterback here in Bo Nix.
12:18I'll let you talk through that while Alfredo makes his two picks on the clock.
12:22I love hating quarterbacks. So that's basically, I just love the recklessness and never knowing if we're going to get three interceptions
12:28or not show up until the fourth quarter. I really looked at the fact that there's a drop off from Bo Nix,
12:34in my opinion, to all the quarterbacks that are left, especially if I'm chasing ceiling with the quarterback situation.
12:39And I really thought long and hard of it, whether to get a running back, because I haven't yet.
12:44Granted, it was only my third pick. But assuming, and that's kind of what just happened, like assuming what, oh my God.
12:50Hampton, Barkley, Walker. I was hoping one of the three was going to make it back to me.
12:55And they go, bam, bam, bam. Alfredo will obviously talk about that.
12:58But Barkley or Walker, I actually thought Walker would make it back.
13:01So now my choice is between love, which is fine, Chase Brown, or man, I guess I'm, you know what?
13:06I'm just going to go zero RB, screw this.
13:09I'm going to take AJ Brown with the Patriots to get the Nakua Brown.
13:13And like, you know, Joe talks about this a lot on all these shows is that, you know, relative position value.
13:18And right now I'm kind of chasing already, chasing everybody else's running backs.
13:22Like my number one is going to be one of the worst number ones, despite being an RB1.
13:26Whereas I can get a real leg up as AJ Brown is my two with decent quarterbacks.
13:31And now I can just try and chase running back later.
13:34Yeah. I want to circle back to the two picks Alfredo made in a second, but I think AJ Brown is somebody that's worth talking about.
13:41I considered him even as early as in the third round.
13:44I mean, if I was picking later in the third round, probably just because I am, I'm really buying into his connection with Drake May.
13:51And, you know, I think we're going to see a very fun year in New England with him.
13:55And I like, I've actually toyed with the idea of trading him away and kind of capitalizing on the excitement around AJ Brown in dynasty leagues.
14:02But as far as redraft goes, like I am very, very excited about Brown.
14:06Yeah. He shouldn't be there in a few weeks.
14:09He'll be in the third round. Yeah. Super flex.
14:11I think that's probably in non. Yeah. I think that's likely true.
14:14Let's circle back to Alfredo continuing to not take quarterback.
14:17So you're really committing to this approach. You go with sort of the luxury pick at tight end with Trey McBride, second tight end off the board.
14:24And then you take probably the player I've drafted in the most of these mocks this season, which is O'Mary and Hampton.
14:30Just I could not be more all in on the Chargers offense.
14:33I want as much of it as I can possibly get on my teams, which is why I'm really bummed that I
14:39just got sniped on Ladd McConkie, which is really a bummer because I was going to take him here.
14:44But walk me through a passing up on quarterbacks again, Alfredo and be the two players you took.
14:49Yeah. To quote Batman, if you want to get nuts, let's get nuts.
14:53You know, it's just let's commit to the bit.
14:55Here, man. I want to see what this hat, what this looks like if I'm not going quarterback early.
15:00And so far, I'm really happy with it. Jameer Gibbs, JSN, Trey McBride, Omari and Hampton.
15:04I'm set at running back. I've got two guys that are potentially the top pass catchers at their positions.
15:10And I just don't know if there's a huge drop off at quarterback once you get past the first seven or eight guys, maybe even first six.
15:17We see this happen every single year where there are just quarterbacks being drafted as the QB 20 that finish in the top 12.
15:23And that can be found. Now, will I regret waiting this long?
15:26Maybe. I didn't expect guys like Tyler Shuck to come off the board here from the computer.
15:31I would have hoped or expected Tyler Shuck would be there for me in the fifth round.
15:36So we'll see. I'm still playing with it, but it might bite me in the butt.
15:40I end up taking Jordan Love here with the 412.
15:43I really like getting him as QB too. I'm kind of buying into, I mean, I just like him as a player a lot.
15:49And I wonder if some of this, you know, uncertainty with Josh Jacobs means that they end up passing more in Green Bay this year.
15:56I'm torn between a couple of receivers. I love Ted O'McMillan so, so much, but I think I'm going to buy into
16:02the opportunity here for Devante Smith without AJ Brown in Philly and kind of hope.
16:06And, you know, obviously Makai Lemon just had, you know, a hamstring thing today.
16:09That doesn't seem like a long-term thing. Obviously we're here in early June, but just, I think the opportunity for Smith in
16:15general to be a more high volume and still really efficient pass catcher in that offense is there this year.
16:21So as much as I love Ted O'McMillan in general, I'm going to go with Smith here as my wide receiver too.
16:27Feeling really good about my team still. Brian, you're on the clock.
16:30You did just hit Kyler Murray with your last pick as your QB too.
16:33Obviously some upside there given the offense he's playing in and now you're on the clock again.
16:38Yeah. I kind of wish I would have pushed it seeing, I had a feeling, you know, Shuck went, you know, Baker Malik are still there.
16:45So I probably could have pushed it one more, but Hey, I'm swinging for upside.
16:49I got KOC. I've got a stack with Jefferson.
16:51If, if, you know, we really get some magic here.
16:54But man, there were some wide receivers that just flew off the board.
16:58I, uh. While you're looking, I'm really upset that you didn't double down on the love, love pick that you could have made.
17:04Oh, I mean, you could have like, then your team name could have been all you need is love.
17:09Yes. Yeah. What are you doing? I mean, there's, you know what?
17:12I take this back. If there are three winners here, we're the only loser.
17:16I did look at the love, love duo. I just, uh, you know, I wanted to go with the receiver and said,
17:22and kind of continue to push running back similar to the way you've done Jake so far, but you're right.
17:27It is a botch by me and absolute missed opportunity team name wise.
17:31Brian, by the way, you do take a running back here.
17:34You're second off the board with Brees Hall. Yeah.
17:36I feel like there was quite the teardrop as far as where I'm going to be drafting at the next time from like essentially this running back hiring.
17:44And then after that, it changes. I think the, uh, the window of variables that hits you is a lot higher at that point.
17:50So I like the way receivers coming back to me here in the six.
17:54So, uh, we'll push it one more. Yeah. And then Jake, you get your first running back off the board.
17:59Yep. Kyron. Kyron Williams is the continued disrespect. The most disrespected running.
18:02I've never seen a community hate a really good player as much as the fancy community hates Kyron Williams, but we are,
18:08we know Kyron is going to be more involved this year, but Kyron just like last year could continue to be back
18:14in, but a back in RB one because the touchdown up equity and everything.
18:18The only way this goes south is the fact that I now have two Rams, uh, at running back and wide receiver.
18:24And if Stafford gets hurt, I'm pretty, you know, I'll be watching baseball or basketball or something, but November.
18:29Yeah. I'm looking at like, I don't think there's a bad pick in round five.
18:33The picks in round five, Devante Smith, Tedro McMillan, T Higgins, Garrett Wilson, Jeremiah Love, Brees Hall, Terry McLaurin, Emeka Ibuka, Kyron
18:39Williams, Jameson Williams, Zay Flowers, Baker Mayfield. Again, it's super flex.
18:42Super flex. I think that like the fact that it is super flex are pushing these really fun names into, you know, more of the mid rounds.
18:49I think those are all like really strong picks in that round.
18:52I don't think there's a single reach or a bad pick.
18:55Yeah. It's usually what you find. Colson Love, by the way, falls to 602.
18:59I still am happy to get Bowers in the third round, but I think, you know, team 11, which is a computer
19:05team, if they were a real person, we'd be feeling really good about that.
19:09Um, I think there's real high upside with Love, one this year.
19:12He went, he went a half round after McBride and, um, Bowers in the single quarterback that we did last week.
19:17That's how close it was. Alfredo, you finally take your first quarterback, Baker Mayfield and pair him with Devante Adams.
19:23Walk me through those picks. Yeah. The computer taking Emeka Ibuka a few spots before saved me from myself, but, uh, Baker Mayfield comes off the board here.
19:30Uh, yeah, this is where, like I say, I don't feel like there's much fantasy drop off between a Baker Mayfield and
19:36a Brock Purdy who went in round three. I mean, really, I know we're seeing a difference, obviously the offense, Mike Evans being gone.
19:43Uh, but I think Ted Hurst is really fun rookie stepping in there.
19:46I think Emeka Ibuka takes a big step forward.
19:49So Baker getting him here in what was this?
19:51The fifth round. I'm happy with that. And then I considered Malik Willis here, but I started to look at some of the other quarterback names.
19:58I'm just, I kind of think some of those other quarterbacks can be just as good as Malik Willis, if not better in fantasy.
20:04Uh, I know we have the rushing upside, but I'm a Dolphins fan.
20:08I'm from South Florida, been tracking it through the off season.
20:11And the normally very optimistic Dolphins beat reporters are saying Malik Willis not looking great in training camp, which is, uh, kind
20:17of, kind of my worry, him coming in from the backers.
20:20Throw into the three of us. Like, I know, but he's getting picked off by rookies left and right, man.
20:25It's not a great look. Take a quick pause here to let everybody know that today's show is brought to you by our presenting sponsor, Hard Rock Bet.
20:33That's Florida's sports book. We talk a lot about football on this show, but the NBA finals are here.
20:38The lights are brighter. The pressure is higher and every possession can define a legacy.
20:42Will New York finally end a 53 year drought and bring a title to the big apple?
20:46Or will San Antonio's young superstar tip off the next great dynasty run?
20:50I personally am still jealous of the Wizards finishing just one ping pong ball shy of winning the Wemby lottery.
20:55So I am petty and I am rooting for the Knicks for that reason.
20:59I can't root for Wemby ever because he is not a Washington wizard, but however you see it playing out, head over
21:05to Hard Rock Bet and turn your picks into a payday because once the final buzzer sounds, that's it for hoops until next season.

22:31Hey, it's us, the Jonas Brothers. And guess what?
22:34We have some big news. What's the news, Nick?
22:36Huge news. We created our own podcast called Hey Jonas.
22:39We invented a podcast? Well, we didn't invent it.
22:41We just contributed to it. We're the first people to do podcasts.
22:44Yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts are out there.
22:47But this one's extra special. So how did we actually come up with the name Hey Jonas, guys?
22:52I honestly don't remember. I think it was on a call about what we should call it.
22:56Well, we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band before Jonas Brothers.
23:01This is how you guys remember it going down?
23:04Yes. I have a very different memory of this.
23:06We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast where people could call in and say, Hey Jonas.
23:11And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast.
23:17But thanks for remembering that, guys. Listen to Hey Jonas on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
23:23Just listen. We don't care where you hear it.
23:26We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs.
23:29I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup, he has to really guard guys like Nas Reed.
23:36He has to guard Julius Randle. And then he has to give us everything he gives us on a night-to-night basis on offense.
23:42And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson, we dive into some playoff history too.
23:46Steve Nash would get that thing. That man, he'll get the flying.
23:49He running over the court, licking his fingers while he got the ball.
23:53Like, after you go through a training camp with that, Isaiah, you figure it out.
23:57Real quick. Get your ass up and down the court, and you're going to get the ball.
24:02So listen to Point Game on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
24:06It is a ton of exciting. Because their new star is Javier Chicharito Hernandez.
24:10He's from Mexico. Everyone sees me as a football player.
24:13But before anything else, I'm human. Every single day, I'm still learning how to live with problems, mistakes, relationships, emotions ever since I was born.
24:19And I still have so many questions. Where do we come from?
24:22What happens after death? How do you deal with cancelation?
24:25Cristiano or Messi? Do aliens exist? What is love?
24:28Real Madrid or Barça? From everyday and ordinary to the deep and extraordinary.
24:31This isn't a normal podcast. Everything here is spontaneous, real, and genuine.
24:34This podcast is like a deep talk with your closest friends, where vulnerability comes out.
24:38Conspiracy theories end up on the table, and goals and lessons are shared.
24:42Everything in this life has a perfect order and everything is just.
24:45I'm going to be a person. I'm going to be a person.
24:48I'm going to be a person. But just kind of like recapping our first six or so, really the core of what
24:54your team would be if we were playing this out.
24:57Jake, how are you feeling about your first group of six?
25:00Your final most recent pick was Luther Burden. Miserable because of how we talked about it at the top.
25:05I love this team so far. I really didn't expect to.
25:08I didn't know what to expect out of 109, but Dart and Nix, not the best quarterback room, but plenty of upside there.
25:14But to have Nakua, A.J. Brown, and Burden as my three with Kyron Williams still in RB1 as my, I mean, let's
25:20play this out, as Phil Fredo said, and we're not going to get to.
25:24Brian, Mike Evans was your most recent pick. So you're looking at Burrow, Jefferson, Gentie, Murray, Hall, and Evans.
25:29How are you feeling about that first half dozen picks?
25:31I mean, there's definitely holes to be poked in this roster.
25:34That's for sure here. Yeah, I definitely wanted to grab Mike Evans, hoping that we can just get some consistency at the
25:40wide receiver two position with the touchdowns this year.
25:43Will he play a whole season? Probably not. But my quarterbacks, look at them.
25:46They don't realize it's a 17-game season either, so they're never out there.
25:50So I'm just hoping I've got enough star power here initially, especially with these two running backs in Brees Hall and Ash
25:56and Gentie, to keep my other players afloat. Can I face Brian in week six when both of his quarterbacks are on a bike together?
26:03I was hoping that was going to go unnoticed.
26:05Alfredo, how are you feeling about your first six picks?
26:08I'm going to be the guy that just says I love my team right now.
26:12I really love this team. I'm just like, I'm strong at running back.
26:15I'm strong at receiver. I've got tight end locked up.
26:18And I think my quarterback has just as good a shot as finishing top 12 as a bunch of the other guys drafted in the last few rounds.
26:25So he was top five two years ago. I know.
26:28Like, that's what I'm saying. Like, it's not that crazy.
26:31I've got a guy that the entire strategy hinges on this one player falling to me and one of my next picks.
26:37And if it happens, I'll be happy. I'm not saying it.
26:40The computer's always listening, Jake. Last question before we unpause the drafts and get the rest of this thing going.
26:45Give me a team that you like best that's not your own.
26:48Is there any build of any of these groups that really stands out to you as I like what this team is doing?
26:54For example, I really like team 11. I mean, just I already mentioned how much I'm in on the Chargers this year.
27:00Justin Herbert at 111. I like a lot. And then McCaffrey, super high upside.
27:04Pickens, obviously coming off a great year. I think Saquon in the fourth is a really nice value now that they have a new play caller in Philly.
27:11Zay Flowers, there's Jake and I have talked about Zay Flowers ad nauseum at this point.
27:16Plenty. There is upside there if he does start getting some touchdown, you know, some red zone usage.
27:21And then Colson Loveland, a tight end that I adore in round six.
27:24I really like team 11. Anybody stand out to any of you guys who ever wants to jump in as a team
27:30other than your own that you quite like to start?
27:33I like team seven. Jake Seeley guy is killing it, I think.
27:36I almost said team nine. I was looking. I was like team nine.
27:39No, never mind. Never mind. No, but team seven.
27:42You go team seven. I was going to say team two.
27:45You go with team seven. Go ahead. I like seven.
27:47I've got Jared Goff inside my top ten as far as quarterbacks go.
27:51We've got a stack with Alman Ra there. Jalen Hurts.
27:54Yeah, he just lost a big target, but maybe that's all he needed.
27:57He just needed the relief of A.J. Brown, the pressure of that to go away.
28:01And we'll see those numbers. Terry McLaurin, I've got my top 20 this year.
28:05I'm really excited about him. And then Devon A.
28:07Chan. Like, who else is there? Like, it's literally just him.
28:10He's going to be wearing football pads and a cape this year because he's got to be Superman.
28:15Jake, I heard you say team two. Team two.
28:17I was between two and 11 as my favorite team other than my own.
28:21So I'm totally with you here. It hinges on the fact that I'm assuming Patrick Mahomes isn't going to be here if
28:27he actually is healthy and ready for week one.
28:30He's not going to be at the 211. But as of today, potentially two top five quarterbacks with Lamar and Patrick Mahomes.
28:35He's got a top five-ish running back in James Cook.
28:38And then doesn't have a true number one wide receiver.
28:41But if Ladd gets back to similar of his rookie season, but a step up, he was a wide receiver one overall,
28:47not in points per game that year. He's only about 20.
28:50But I mean, we're talking about what Mike McDaniel can do for him.
28:53And then Teddy Rowan could be a wide receiver one.
28:56And then Christian Watson, if he stays healthy, should be top 25, top 30 at worst.
29:00Like, that's a really good roster. I think in Superflex, I'm more likely to go hero RB than anything else because of
29:06how much those RB twos usually fall. Brian, I'm not going to lie, man.
29:10I kind of like your team as long as everybody stays healthy.
29:13I really like this team. I mean, Burrow and Kyler, yeah, they give me some pause there.
29:18But you got Justin Jefferson, who's got every chance to be wide receiver one again.
29:22He's been doing that either wide receiver one or wide receiver two points per game when he actually has a quarterback.
29:27So I'm like, I'm kind of in on your team.
29:30And then who was the other one here? Team eight looks great here with Jaden Daniels, if he can stay healthy as well.
29:36Then you, Agbuka late, Chase Brown, Javante Williams in the sixth round.
29:39Yeah, it's great value all over. Getting Daniels and Lawrence back to back when you're not picking until pick eight, I think
29:45is a really nice QB start in a Superflex for that team.
29:48I've had plenty of time to think about my pick here with the pause.
29:52So let's get it going again. I actually was planning to take a running back this whole time, but I'm just going
29:58to go with my heart, which is with Carnell Tate.
30:01I just love taking highly drafted rookie receivers. He can still start on my team as the flex because we're starting three
30:07receivers and then have a regular flex as well.
30:09The pairing with Cam Ward, I think will be excellent.
30:12There's opportunity for target share there. And I can see Alfredo's reaction, which makes me think I had a good pick.
30:17Yeah. I think that meant that, wait, great pick?
30:20I couldn't read Alfredo's face whether or not it was a great pick or if he was upset that it was one
30:26of the, I thought you were like, Hey, he didn't take the guy I was looking for.
30:30And he's okay. Yeah. I mean, he didn't take the guy I was hoping for, but yeah, I love, I love Carnell
30:36Tate this year and getting him in the seventh round.
30:39Just like you said, the, the pairing with Cam Ward is great.
30:42I just finished charting Cam Ward for reception perception and my God, did his receivers drop so many passes and everything that
30:48Cam Ward does well in extending plays matches so well.
30:51If Carnell Tate does, which is to be able to win contested catches and come back to the ball, good zone, uh,
30:57zone beating spatial awareness, everything from his scouting report matches with Cam Ward.
31:00It makes it so obvious why they had to, the Titans had to make this pick early in the NFL draft.
31:06I feel like Tate is every year. There's a guy that I look at and I go, just, I'm just so confident
31:12that a year from now, this price will look very cheap.
31:15And I feel that way about Tate this year.
31:17So I, even though I still desperately need running backs on this team, I'm, I'm happy to, uh, to just take the
31:23guy that I think is the best player available.
31:25A bunch of running backs go off the board here.
31:28Chuba Hubbard, then a bunch in a row. Cam Scadaboo, DeAndre Swift, Trayvon Henderson, Bucky Irving, Brian, you took.
31:33He was, he was mad. I don't know if you saw that.
31:36Yeah. You know, there's a couple of guys that went off the board right before me.
31:41I was hoping they were going to follow me, but, uh, look, there are tons of arguments.
31:45Is it Odunze? Is it Burden? Is it Loveland?
31:48Well, I'm just gonna take the running back. Maybe, maybe it's none of the wide receivers.
31:52Maybe they're just evenly distributed and we all kind of overpay for them.
31:55And maybe it's just the running backs that ultimately overplay their ADP.
31:59So I'm going to go with DeAndre Swift, grab my third running back here.
32:02Just because, yeah, the wide receivers, there was a cliff for me.
32:06And then Jake, you take Harold Fann and fourth tight end off the board.
32:09Was that kind of an easy call? Or do you see a group of players in that, you know, tight end four
32:15and beyond that you could kind of go in any direction?
32:18I was initially a leaning running back, but given the running backs are on the board and only having six picks between
32:24and looking at their rosters, I feel like at least one of them, even though Dave Montgomery was my top one at
32:30that point, went to team 10 and there's still the other running backs that I could get with my next pick.
32:36Knowing that, uh, talk to Zach Jackson, it covers the Browns for the athletic.
32:39And I already had that feeling. So when somebody like him echoes, the feeling of he could lead this team should lead
32:45the team in targets was his actual quote. Uh, I feel really good about Fann and being able to repeat last year,
32:51even potentially push that top tier where if he was alongside the Brock Bowers, Trey McBride, Colson Loveland's of the world.
32:57I mean, I wouldn't be shocked by it. Alfredo, you go Cam Ward to get your second quarterback and then Quinshawn Judkins at the seven, eight turn.
33:04I love those two picks. Yeah, man. And one, I was shocked to see that Quinshawn Judkins was still here coming off
33:10the board after Montgomery, after Bucky, after Travion Henderson, after DeAndre Swift, after Cam Scadaboo, after Chuba Hubbard.
33:15Just surprising to me that he's coming after all those guys, like maybe one or two of them, but like to, to
33:21be going off the board in the eighth round, I was happy to see him there.
33:25And then Cam Ward was that, that QB two that I was hoping for in this kind of punting quarterback scenario.
33:31Cam Ward was the guy that ran a lot in college when he was at Washington state, didn't have to do it
33:37a lot at Miami and chose not to do it.
33:39A lot of times after watching the film, uh, in Tennessee, and maybe we get a little more rushing upside from him.
33:45But even if we don't, you can have the Drake may effect here where you're going to see a guy that finally
33:51has an offense that works and receivers that can catch the ball.
33:54And Brian Dable, he's been able to work with Jackson Dart, with Daniel Jones, with Josh Allen, with so many different players,
34:00even to a tongue by low back at Alabama, where he has made guys go from struggling to being successful quarterbacks.
34:06So, uh, I'd love to see that and watching Cam Ward to go from Cam Ward and some of the other second
34:12year guys that I've seen on film, it's, there is a tear gap in the arm talent and the passing ability with
34:18Cam Ward and some of these other guys. Got to be feeling pretty good.
34:21Uh, if you waited on quarterback and still can come away with Baker and Cam, I think that's, that's a pretty nice duo there.
34:28Jake, you take Jadarian Price. I was kind of hoping, I didn't expect him to fall to me.
34:33He was the one that was kind of eyeing.
34:35Like, I hope he gets back to me for, by running back troubles here.
34:39But yeah, I mean, just going to have all the opportunity in the world early on.
34:43Even if it's not in the passing game and he's just like Raheem Oster, which is the comparison I usually gave him
34:49is that he's going to be the lead. And we've seen that the Seahawks will split that backfield.
34:54So it's okay that he doesn't get a lot of the passing game work, but you give me 240, 250 touches, mostly
35:00in the run game department and being able to be on a offense that we think is going to continue to click.
35:06Yeah. This late in the game, he was one of the many.
35:09It was going to be Price. It was going to be, uh, brought up Montgomery.
35:13Who else went right before him? Oh, Junkins. When I liked the Alfredo pick of Junkins and Tootin were the ones that I was looking at.
35:20Uh, but also it helped my tie break. I am now fully leaning into, I did it one time in the history,
35:26all these industry leagues and I actually only lost one game.
35:29And it was that week. I, you want to play me in week 11, Kyron Price, Nakua, AJ Brown and Fannin.
35:34I won't have a team. I'm taking a buy in week 11.
35:38I'm going to go visit family, uh, just so everybody knows.
35:40But I'm a full going where I'm going to have basically 99% of my roster for the rest of the season and just not in week 11.
35:48Yeah. Brian, your last pick on the clock now, but your most recent pick was Chris Godwin sandwiched between two rookie receivers.
35:54Did you consider either Tyson or Lemon or, um, did you just, you know, Godwin was the easy choice for you?
35:59No, with this being my third wide receiver that I was going to be taking and my second being Mike Evans, knowing he's going to miss time.
36:06I wanted to grab something more consistent. I wanted to grab something that's proven.
36:10I wanted to grab something in an offense that might have to heavily lean on the passing game with Bucky Irving question
36:16marks, you know, the other running backs just complimenting the passing game.
36:19So yeah, give me Chris Godwin, man. I don't understand why he's going so late.
36:23I have a little too much of him in best ball and I'm going to follow up with BTJ.
36:28I mean, I don't care what side you are as far as the wide receivers there in Jacksonville.
36:33You can't tell me he doesn't have the highest ceiling.
36:36Like literally we saw what it looked like in year one.
36:39What sophomore didn't have a slump as far as the wide receivers last year?
36:43He had a friend die, hit an injury. I am willing to roll it back with this, especially this late ninth round.
36:49Give me that. We've heard enough from you, Jake, about the Jacksonville receiving room in previous shows.
36:53I'm not even going to bother asking you about this.
36:56I mean, you knew Parker Washington was going to my team.
36:59You knew that was coming. Alfredo, I have not asked you about the Jags receiving room.
37:03So Thomas, Parker Washington, and then you, of course, stage you, Kobe Myers.
37:07How do you kind of shake out with those three receivers right now?
37:10Again, I'm open to this changing obviously throughout the summer, but right now, how are you kind of ranking those three against each other?
37:17Yeah, I'm going to have it. Brian Thomas Jr.
37:19at the top because of everything Brian said is you just you have the best upside there.
37:23It's going to be Meyer second and then Parker Washington third out of this group.
37:28I think we're steaming up Parker Washington a lot.
37:30Yes, he had some some fantastic games and we can't take that away from him, even small sample sizes.
37:35But there was a lot of the Jaguars trying to figure out their offense at that time last year.
37:40Brian Thomas Jr. was out. Travis Hunter was out.
37:43Jacoby Myers was settling in. And that's when a lot of these big games happened for Parker Washington.
37:47And so I'm I'm fine with drafting Parker Washington.
37:50I'm fine with drafting any one of these Jaguars wide receivers.
37:53What I don't like to see is when one of these guys gets steamed up way too far ahead.
37:58It didn't happen in this draft. But going off of ADP right now, Parker Washington's going 30 spots ahead of Jacoby Myers.
38:04And that's that's something I don't understand. If all three of these guys go in the same round, I get that.
38:09Or even just a one round difference. I get that.
38:12But a three round difference between Parker Washington and Jacoby Myers to me just doesn't make sense when I get into drafts.
38:18A lot of running backs coming off the board.
38:20I'm glad I dipped in on my last two picks with Menunga and Pollard because a whole bunch of running backs went off the board next.
38:27Including Chris Rodriguez, who was a guy I had my eye on.
38:31I will take Jonathan Brooks, just the upside swing.
38:33I'm buying into, you know, looking healthy and they didn't really address the position in a meaningful way this offseason.
38:38Like I think he will have the opportunity assuming health.
38:41So as my RB three with as strong as the rest of the squad is, I'm very happy with that.
38:46Well, I think about my next pick. Actually, Alfredo, I really only asked you about the Jags.
38:51I like the Pearsall pick as well for you at 10.01.
38:54Yeah, man. I mean, I was team Ricky Pearsall as a rookie.
38:57I remember celebrating when he got drafted in the first round when he came out of the gate hot last year.
39:03It was ecstatic, you know, because I was pumping him up all summer.
39:06This is his opportunity. Then the injury hits. Now, the big thing for him, and it's just it's the most annoying caveat with any player in fantasy.
39:13If he's healthy, he's going to be good. That's really it, because this San Francisco 49ers offense can be really good.
39:19There's no Juwan Jennings there. Yes, Mike Evans goes in, but what Mike Evans and Ricky Pearsall do are going to be attacking different parts of the field.
39:27And we've got George Kittle coming off of an Achilles injury as well.
39:30So there's a there's a place for Ricky Pearsall to still succeed within this offense, even with Mike Evans there.
39:35We just saw a reaction from Brian here. Five straight tight ends go off the board.
39:40I'm curious which one he was. So I always never will take a backup tight end if I have Bowers.
39:45But I was just like I didn't love the running backs and receivers available.
39:49And I just felt like one of the quarter was the best player on the board.
39:53And I just want to take the value here.
39:56I've never seen that. And that started a tight end right here from the quarterbacks.
40:00Pitts, LaPorta, Gadsden, Kincaid and Kelsey go back to back to back to back to back to back.
40:04He broke the A.I. The fantasy pros engine was like, we don't like this Brian guy.
40:09Apparently. Brian, which of those tight ends did you have your eye on?
40:12Well, seeing as I was six picks away, I was like, all right, cool.
40:16Let me put Sam LaPorta at the top of my cue.
40:19I'll slide in Kyle Pitts. And maybe if I have to, I'll look at Travis Kelsey.
40:23No. I'll follow those guys. So we're going to double down on wide receiver.
40:27Just pump the tight end position, as I typically do in all of my drafts.
40:31I was kind of torn between Pitts and LaPorta as who I thought was a better value pick.
40:36I mean, I just like the idea, again, of Stefanski in Atlanta and what he likes to do with tight ends and
40:42Pitts coming off a tight end two season was kind of went in that direction.
40:46It felt like a coin flip to me between the two.
40:49It feels like consistency floor with LaPorta. And then you got the high ceilings with Pitts.
40:53So yeah, just kind of which one you're looking at.
40:56Yeah. Especially since I already have another tight end, kind of that ceiling approach is what I wanted to go with.
41:01Jake, we kind of skipped your last couple of picks, but Daniel Jones and Jordan Addison.
41:06And now you're on the clock again. Walk me through what you've been thinking with these picks.
41:10Yeah, it was the first. It looks like the first team to take a third quarterback.
41:14And it mostly comes down to the fact that it was Daniel Jones.
41:18And if he's healthy, we just seem like it's not pretty in real life, but in fantasy, QB one upside and then
41:24really went for that because I do have a Jackson Dart injury risk.
41:27I do have Bo Nix being all over the map.
41:30And what if he doesn't break out? He's still the same situation.
41:33So it's because I didn't have an elite quarterback that I made that pick.
41:37And what was given to the board is similar to you with the tight end situation.
41:41What was on the board? It was fine. There's a lot of fine picks in there.
41:46I was actually really happy about the Jordan Addison being where he is.
41:49That really felt good getting that. If I'm wrong, as Fredo said, with Parker Washington, well, that's fine because now I have Jordan Addison.
41:56So I have to go running back now. And man, I don't want to do it.
42:00But it was my third running back, Kamara. If he stays with the Saints, he's going to be, what, 35, 40% of the work.
42:06If he gets on a different team, maybe he still gets maybe more than that.
42:10But that just feels like a gamble. But he's my RB3.
42:13I really don't care. He's my RB3 at this point.
42:16Wait till he gets cut and the Seahawks sign him.
42:19Well, yeah. And now I only have two running backs again because I already have Price.
42:23And then I have to do the same thing we've been doing for the Seahawks for the past three years.
42:28It's like, which one do I? I guess I just have to start both every single week.
42:33Alfredo, you also take a third quarterback here with Bryce Young, carrying him with Jaden Reed for your last two picks.
42:38Was it similar for you in that because you don't have that elite quarterback, you wanted to make sure you got a third one?
42:45Yeah, I feel like you can't be bad at a position and not have depth.
42:49Like, you got to kind of pick one or the other.
42:52Not that I'm necessarily bad at quarterback or at wide receiver here taking Jaden Reed.
42:56But when these are the... Wait until he gets hurt in week six.
42:59I'm still mad about your Kamara. I love you, Jake.
43:02Yeah, just I mean, when you take some of these guys at positions that are really important a little bit later, you're going to want to have depth.
43:10And it's still a very real possibility that Cam Ward ends up not being good at football.
43:14And I'm way wrong on that. Or Baker Mayfield just isn't the same without Mike Evans.
43:18All these things can happen. So not exactly that.
43:21Bryce Young is the best parachute to have when you're jumping out of the plane.
43:25But I'd rather have the third quarterback here than be the guy that's stuck with the worst probably quarterback group out of the whole league and no depth.
43:32Brian, you finally get your tight end. Isaiah Likely, was he just clearly at the top of your board?
43:37Did you consider anybody else? I've been making a real push for...
43:41I think Mark Andrews is pretty undervalued in redraft leagues this year.
43:44Likely obviously has a lot of upside going to New York.
43:47How do you look at the late round tight end market?
43:50Honestly, I love it. That's where I live. I've tied in 15 to 30 this year.
43:54Looks so good. Not all of them, but there's probably 10 of them there that I really like.
43:59I probably would have waited one more round to tie it in, but I was worried you were going to take a
44:05third and who else was going to take another.
44:07So when I scooped up possibly the number one target for Jackson Dart, because we saw that limp around the bases.
44:13Things aren't looking great for neighbors right now. Things aren't looking great for me for what I was actually going to go for.
44:19So we're going to draw Jawan Johnson. Another tight end I was considering.
44:23Dead wide receivers. I thought it was a joke when I first saw all the names that they had signed, the Giants.
44:28Yeah. I thought, I know. I was like, oh, Heartline makes sense because they need returning game.
44:33That was what, what does it mean? Olszewski? Right?
44:35No. Olszewski. Yeah. Thank you. Yeah. Yeah. That's what he was going to be.
44:39And then, like you said, and there was Juju Smith-Schuster.
44:42I'm like, huh? Okay, fine. Whatever. And then it's like, oh, and Odell Beckham.
44:46We're like, what? What are we doing? Yeah. Jeez.
44:48I'm excited to be past the John Harbaugh era in Baltimore.
44:51That's my thoughts on that. My last two picks, by the way, Matthew Golden, Jonah Coleman.
44:55You know, Coleman, just a player that I really liked in the draft.
44:59And, you know, I'm not trusting Dobbins to stay healthy.
45:01RJ Harvey disappointed in terms of kind of some of the efficiency numbers and everything like that last year.
45:07So I'll take a swing on a player that I liked.
45:10And then Golden is just like a, hey, year two, like kind of flush the rookie season.
45:14I pair him with Jordan Love here. There is opportunity if somebody really emerges.
45:18Like, it's not like, you know, Christian Watson is the pinnacle of health or anything like that in that receiving room.
45:23So it's kind of a lottery ticket here at this point.
45:26And the draft is wide receiver five for my team.
45:29Jake, you go with the rookie Omar Cooper here taking a receiver around 13.
45:33Yeah. I mean, I really need a running back.
45:35It'll probably be my last pick because I only have three right now.
45:39But we're also only doing 14 rounds. But Cooper, like walking into should be the number two for the Jets.
45:44And I know that this is offseason and everybody's, you know, BSA or BS, whatever it is, the best shape of their lives.
45:50And everybody is doing great. And BS, BS, BSOL, BSOL.
45:53That's what I meant to say. What's BSA? I don't know.
45:56Anyway, continuing. Everybody looks great. But the fact is, everybody's like, oh, Geno Smith is actually a decent quarterback.
46:01He like, let's not pretend he's like top 20.
46:03But there's just two years removing from being a capable quarterback better than anything that the Jets threw out last year.
46:09And Cooper's walking into a number two role. So as a 13th rounder, yeah, sign me up.
46:14I thought you were trying to get to like PSA, like it's a PSA that they're in their best shape.
46:19I don't know where my brain was going with that one.
46:22I just. That's what I was thinking. I don't know.
46:25I'm just so mad that he like. I just can't get over putting Kamara out into the world.
46:29They put that evil on my team. I just I'm just really still tripping up about that.
46:34Alfredo, your final two picks in this mock, which again is only 14 rounds.
46:38Jerry Judy and Tank Bigsby. Yeah, I mean, Jerry Judy, obviously it doesn't look pretty from the outside looking in the Browns
46:44go and they draft Casey Concepcion and Denzel Boston.
46:46We don't know what they're doing at quarterback. But there's also still a good chance that he might be the leading target earner on the team.
46:53Like it's I think it's equal that he could be the leading target earner or also just get cut from the roster.
46:59Like both of those are on the table here.
47:01And in round 13, I kind of don't care.
47:04Like this is what these rounds are made for is just take swings on guys.
47:08If Deshaun Watson is like anything close to what he used to be or should her Sanders takes the next step or
47:14any of these quarterbacks can do something. And Jerry Judy can be productive.
47:17Great. I've got a wide receiver six on my roster that can produce.
47:21And then Tank Bigsby, this is just grabbing yourself a handcuff in one of the potentially best running back situations in the league.
47:27So, yeah, I love that. Once you get to these rounds, it's all about grabbing those upside guys.
47:32Yeah, for sure. I'm looking here, man. I it's I will not be taking a third tight end, but I mark.
47:37And she got to go. She got to go and mark.
47:40And there's two tight ends that I really love who are going late.
47:44And it's interesting that they're not going to get drafted here.
47:47I can't take a third. There he is. All right.
47:49We'll do a little bit of draft analysis here before we get out of here.
47:53One of the cool things about doing drafts on the mock draft simulator is that you can really get a deep dive
47:59of how you did rather than just kind of a straightforward rankings.
48:03We have projected standings and power rankings. You can look at position ranks, you know, starters, bench, quarterback, running back, tight end receiver, all that stuff.
48:10Steals and reaches is an interesting tab that you could check out.
48:13Expert opinions. See who liked your draft. Who didn't, for example, on the expert opinions, Pat Fitzmorris loved my draft.
48:18Andrew Erickson, Justin Boone liked my draft. Those are ones that I'm feeling good about.
48:22Nobody on the kind of thumbs down that totally terrifies me that they, you know, if like Alfredo hated my draft, I'd be really scared about that.
48:29But I know some good people who liked my draft that I am happy about.
48:33You know, you can check out this. It says Mark Andrews is actually my biggest steal of any of the value picks I got.
48:40So glad to take. And Kyle Pitts is another value pick I had for me looking there.
48:44One of the other cool things, and I'll run through kind of how everybody's team looks here in a second.
48:50Pick analysis, too. I can show you, if you look back, what you could have done differently.
48:54For example, I took Brock Bowers with the 301 and Jonathan Brooks with the 10, you know, last pick of the 10th round.
49:01If I had done Jonathan Taylor with the 301 and then Laporta with the last pick of the 10th round, so still
49:06getting a running back in tight end just in different spots.
49:09My team score would have been 51 points higher, which would have moved me, it looks like, up into like from team
49:15number nine in the projected standing to about team number three in the projected standing.
49:19So it could have been a really big jump if I'd made that switch.
49:23That's some of the fun stuff that you can do when looking at the analysis afterwards.
49:27By the way, I was projected to finish ninth.
49:30Jake, eighth. Brian, fifth. And we're not going to say who's projected to finish first.
49:34That's right. There's no need. You're the number one loser.
49:36No one lost ahead of you. Alfredo Brown dominating this thing.
49:39And actually, like, by a pretty wide margin on the final score here.
49:43So, Alfredo, the system really liked your wait-on-QB approach.
49:45Yeah, apparently it did. And you know what? I'm looking at the expert opinions, and D-Bro hates my team, so I feel better about it now.
49:52Yeah, you should. I'm sorry, D-Pro. I love you.
49:55Yeah, man. This is opening my eyes. I hadn't done too many super flex drafts.
49:59And obviously, when you're in those drafts, you don't get the courage to do something like this.
50:03Now that I'm seeing it, I'm like, I kind of love the way that this team shook out.
50:08So I'll be going late-round quarterback a bit more as I get into super flex leagues.
50:12Yeah, maybe you should have more courage there. Well, it gave you first in four categories.
50:17So that's why it gave you first in overall starters, bench, second running backs, first in tight ends, second in flex.
50:22So you suck at quarterback and super flex. But that's – I don't know, steal your spot.
50:27It sounded like you were kind of done, so I didn't want to jump in.
50:31But when you're in that position at the 12, and like you said, you're in a super flex, and you kind of have to pivot the other direction.
50:38It's like I think the biggest mistake Fredo people do is not doing what you did, as in from that spot, just
50:44trying to play middle ground with the quarterback position.
50:47And then you end up middle ground at other spots, whereas, yeah, you could actually be the worst team if your quarterbacks
50:53– you know, Baker Mayfield is what he was last year.
50:56But if anything breaks right at quarterback from you, your team is so set everywhere else.
51:00Yeah. So I'm looking here at the expert opinions for Jake's team, and he – Debro actually likes his team, so that's not good.
51:06Debro, Justin Boone, Seth Wolcott. But you see who hates my team, right?
51:10But that comes down on Jake's team is one Alfredo Brown.
51:13Who gave me a C-? He hates Jackson Dart, Parker Washington, and Alvin Kamara.
51:17That sounds about right. Good job, A.I. Alfredo. Yeah.
51:19A.I. Alfredo. You know what? That's funny. Like we usually look at the pick analysis, and like I don't agree with –
51:25like the pick analysis, the number one difference it gives me, and it's doing what it's doing.
51:29But it would actually put me all the way up into third place it looks like if I would have swapped this out.
51:36It says, if I were taking Judkins and Goddard instead of Fannin and Emmitt Johnson.
51:40I disagree. Like I think Fannin gives me a potential top three, four tight end as I mentioned.
51:44And Emmitt Johnson isn't even in flex consideration for him.
51:47Christian Judkins bumps out Price for me. So I don't think that's a huge gap, although I would rather have Judkins than Price.
51:53I brought that up when Fredo made that pick.
51:56But I don't think that's enough of a difference that I would change that out.
52:00I like having the advantage of where I feel comfortable at tight end.
52:03Like Goddard has to repeat his touchdown upside from last year.
52:06Like I feel like I'm super safe with Fannin at tight end.
52:09And then Brian, you're sitting here at fifth in the projected stand.
52:13He's really tied for fourth based on the score.
52:15Glad you said it so I didn't have to.
52:17I'll help you out here. Matt Harmon and Dalton Daldon, a couple of the names that liked your draft amongst the experts.
52:23Seth Wilcock from Fantasy Pros does not like it.
52:26Neither does Brandon Funston. Yeah, my cohort hates you.
52:28Yeah. But how you feel kind of looking at your analysis here, Brian, and any regrets you have or anything like that?
52:34I feel pretty good. Yeah, looking at the pick analysis, it says like, you know, instead of going Kyler and QJ, I
52:40should have gone Bryce Young and Crystal Lave. I don't fully disagree.
52:43But Kyler's going to be one of those particular ones, especially once we get into August.
52:47And ADP really supplants itself with the 80% plus casuals, whatever comes back in that time.
52:52Kyler could, I think, boost all the way up to like QB8.
52:55Or he could fall to like QB14, 15. You know, I think he's a very volatile player.
53:00So if you have that feeling, you have to go get your guys at a certain point.
53:04So I definitely don't hate it. I got Keaton Mitchell with my last pick.
53:08I got QJ there in the middle. I want, I want so badly.
53:11Just a piece, just a little taste of that Chargers offense.
53:14I don't know how Mike McDaniel hasn't juiced up the ADP on more of these players.
53:19But I, I'm just, I'm collecting them as much as I can.
53:22And especially with those that late in the round.
53:24Absolutely. Give me that. I couldn't agree more. I've said it, I think on every mock draft episode I've done, I've talked
53:30about how much I just want to take as many bites of the apple as I can with a piece of this Chargers offense.
53:37So I strongly agree there. Yeah, I've noticed I tend, I try to do these drafts the way that I would draft
53:42if I were playing out the league to try and make it as accurate as possible for what I'm actually thinking for my real drafts.
53:49But the way I tend to draft is I trust myself to like find running backs on waivers and things like that and make trades.
53:56So it is one thing with the, not to make an excuse of like being ranked lower, but it is one thing
54:02I've noticed with the mocks where people who sometimes kind of lean into that zero RB approach or anything like that.
54:07The system says, well, you have bad running back starters and there's less of an opportunity to obviously fix that in a mock because this is the end.
54:15We're not playing out these rosters anymore. So that is something to keep in mind when you're trying out different strategies with mocks.
54:21You know, for example, again, that pick analysis for me, it's that I should have taken Jonathan Taylor instead of Brock Bowers and hindsight.
54:28Yeah, there were a ton of tight ends that are really liked late.
54:31And that's one of my big takeaways. But I also trust myself to find some running backs throughout the course of the season.
54:37Just something to keep in mind there. As we kind of look through the analysis, kind of a final thought from each
54:43of you, just it can be on your team, somebody else's team and overall takeaway from the experience.
54:48Having done your first super flex, you know, redraft one of the season, whatever it is, any takeaway, any direction you want to go with it.
54:55Brian, I'll start with you. I think it's actually pretty interesting.
54:58The three highest bot teams on here were all three teams that we brought up halfway through it that we really liked.
55:04So, you know, we all take credit for some of those wins as well.
55:08Yeah, 2, 7, and 11, all teams that we mentioned when talking about teams that stood out.
55:12That's a great point by you. And Team 8 was even in the top half, which I know is a team that Alfredo brought up too.
55:19So all the teams we kind of highlighted that we liked as doing well are all projected to sort of make the playoffs in this league.
55:26Jake, what about you? Any kind of overarching takeaways here?
55:29I gave a lot of it with Alfredo's just being in that situation of having to pivot just depending on where you're at in the draft.
55:36Mine was not to his extreme, but similar in the fact that, you know, I didn't go quarterback in the first round.
55:42But I think the bigger takeaway from Team 2 is that what it could be if you wait on tight end and
55:48then don't take your third quarterback until the very last round, which, of course, carries some risk.
55:52But when you're starting with Lamar and Patrick Mahomes, I think that's the bigger take.
55:56If I started with that, if I started with May and Prescott or even Daniels and Lawrence, I wouldn't have taken Daniel Jones where I did.
56:03Because if I lose one of them, Daniel Jones is going to make up for that.
56:07Like, it really comes down to if you lose one, you're pretty much chasing for the rest of the season.
56:13So I would emphasize that more than anything because we are talking super flex.
56:16If you have two studs, I would wait, wait, wait, wait, wait for my third.
56:21If you have that middling road like Fredo did, I did.
56:23Team 10 pretty much kind of did with Stafford and Willis, then I'd be a little bit more aggressive in getting my third quarterback.
56:30Yeah. Alfredo, what about you? Any kind of final takeaways here?
56:33Yeah, I think the biggest thing is just being able to zig when others zag.
56:37You know, if you're looking out at your league and you're seeing that they're all doing something else, go find the value elsewhere.
56:43You're not going to get ahead of your league by trying to follow and do exactly what they're doing and be the
56:4910th, 11th or 12th best team at what they are doing.
56:52So find another way around it. Just like we said, looking at the overall analysis, this team ended up being a first
56:58in running back, wide receiver, flex and all these other positions.
57:01That's going to help me so much more in the long run.
57:04And, you know, I was able to wait on quarterback.
57:07So just being able to zig while there's zag is a big way to differentiate yourself from the league.
57:12I'm usually a big fan of kind of the luxury picks early, like a QB or a tight end in one QB leagues.
57:18I mean, as a luxury pick early, a QB or a tight end early.
57:22I kind of did both in this. I mean, again, it is super flex, but three of my first four picks were two QBs and a tight end.
57:29Obviously, I still am really happy with my receiving room overall, but that meant I had to sacrifice somewhere else at running back.
57:35I don't regret Bowers in the third round in a vacuum because I have just sky high expectations for him this year.
57:41You know, obviously, as long as he's healthier than last year, does get the quarterback upgrade, the play calling upgrade.
57:47Not a ton of competition there. Like, I just think that it's a really good pick.
57:51But tight ends fell so much. I mean, after Bowers and McBride, there were only four tight ends selected across all of rounds four through rounds ten.
57:58So, I mean, it was Loveland, Fannin, Warren, and Kraft, all good players, but that's not a lot getting kind of taken
58:04away from the position over the course of seven consecutive full rounds.
58:07That's a lot of players picked with not a lot of tight ends.
58:11And, you know, I took what I thought were some value picks.
58:14Obviously, I wouldn't take three tight ends normally if this wasn't a mock.
58:17But, like, I took what I thought were some value picks late at the position.
58:22But it really is a sign that kind of Brian's strategy of waiting, I think, is a smart one at tight end.
58:27And even if a guy like Bowers feels like a really nice value early, there's just – I mean, in a draft
58:33like this – and you never know exactly how it's going to pan out.
58:37Maybe in a different group of players, people like their tight ends a lot more and it doesn't look the same way.
58:43But the fact that Pitts, Laporta, Gadsden, Kincaid, Kelsey, Kittle, Ferguson, these guys were all available at the start of round 11 is pretty remarkable.
58:50There was more tight ends in round 11 alone than it went in the first ten rounds.
58:54Which is wild. Wild. So that's something I will try to keep in mind, certainly for future mocks and for real drafting as well.
59:01But that position is probably my biggest takeaway. All right.
59:03We'll go ahead and wrap things up there. Thanks, everybody, for tuning in and checking out this mock draft.
59:08Thank you to Jake and Brian and Alfredo. I've already introverted you guys.
