Player insights

50

Aaron Jones

PositiveRole44:03

The source prefers Aaron Jones over Josh Jacobs for Week 7 and expects Jones to operate as the lead back or 1a in Minnesota despite Jordan Mason's first game back from thumb injury. The source suspects Mason's return will not result in a true 50-50 split, positioning Jones as the primary option.

Insight page

Brian Thomas Jr.

PositiveRole30:20

Brian Thomas is cited as a cautionary comparison for Michael Wilson's current situation with the Cardinals. Last year, Thomas was used as a coverage-draw receiver by the Jaguars, running downfield to draw coverage rather than being a primary target. His average depth of target spiked similarly to Wilson's current aDOT jump from 9.3 to 13.7, signaling a downfield-only usage pattern that limits fantasy production.

Insight page

Carnell Tate

PositiveProjection46:48

The source ranks Tate WR24 for Week 7 and acknowledges he is 'the better player' compared to Michael Wilson (WR25), despite ranking him one spot lower. Tate has hit 19+ PPR points in two of his last three games after a slow start, showing recent momentum. He faces a tough matchup against Denzel Ward, the Browns' best cornerback.

Insight page

Carson Beck

NegativeRole32:12

Carson Beck is expected to get at least five starts for the Cardinals as a rookie, and the source is worried those starts probably won't be pretty. The source doubts the Cardinals will let Beck throw 38 times a game like they did with Jacoby Brissette, suggesting the team will be conservative with the rookie's workload, which could limit volume for Cardinals receivers like Tate Pittman.

Insight page

Chuba Hubbard

NegativeMatchup20:04

Hubbard faces a tough Buccaneers run defense ranked 7th in DVOA and 3rd in EPA per play; Tampa Bay allows the second-fewest rushing yards per game (only Jacksonville allows fewer) and opposing running backs average just 3.5 yards per carry against them, presenting a difficult Week 7 matchup despite Hubbard's strong season volume.

Insight page
PositiveProjection22:02

Despite the difficult Buccaneers matchup, Hubbard's season-long floor is strong; his worst game this year is RB12 (with finishes of 7, 7, 8, 9, and 12), providing confidence in his volume-based floor even in a tough Week 7 spot.

Insight page

Cooper Kupp

NegativeValue6:18

The source ranks Cooper Kupp slightly lower than Trey Tucker for Week 7 starts, separating them by two ranking spots. While Kupp is mentioned in the context of a close decision, the source prefers Tucker's more complete body of work and improved floor this season.

Insight page

Daniel Jones

NegativeMatchup43:54

Jones faces a difficult matchup against the Vikings and Brian Flores' defense; Flores' defense operates on another level beyond typical defensive schemes, with strong pass-rush and blitz-pickup capabilities; Jones had poor results the last time he faced Flores.

Insight page
PositiveValue48:00

Jones (QB25 in consensus ECR) is preferred over Deshaun Watson (QB17) for Week 7, representing an eight-spot gap in consensus ranking; the source expresses willingness to start Jones despite the Giants' reputation, suggesting Watson's recent performance makes even a lower-ranked alternative more attractive.

Insight page

David Montgomery

NegativeRole11:35

Marks has been more efficient than Montgomery this year, suggesting a shift in the Texans' backfield hierarchy favoring Marks.

Insight page

Deshaun Watson

NegativeProjection47:18

Watson has regressed significantly over the past two weeks, described as playing poorly and making the offense look 'awful'; the source expresses strong skepticism about starting anyone in the Browns offense given Watson's recent performance, noting he looks 'like trash' and is approaching a concerning trend after showing some promise earlier in the season.

Insight page
PositiveMatchup50:01

Watson has an easier matchup against the Titans' pass defense (27th in EPA per pass, 29th in DVOA) compared to alternatives; he adds rushing value averaging 32.7 rushing yards per game with at least 22 rushing yards in all six games played, providing roughly a 65-yard scoring advantage over Michael Penix due to double-value rushing scoring in most leagues.

Insight page

DK Metcalf

PositiveProjection55:18

The source is making a touchdown prediction for DK Metcalf as a higher-difficulty pick in the touchdown calls contest, positioning him as a breakout candidate.

Insight page

Emanuel Wilson

NegativeMatchup45:52

Wilson is faded in a flex decision against the Chiefs; Saquon Barkley's return from IR creates workload uncertainty, and the Chiefs' run defense is elite (63.8 rushing yards per game, 3.2 yards per carry allowed); without a clear majority of rushing attempts, Wilson's outlook is poor.

Insight page

Harold Fannin

NegativeRole2:26

Fannin Jr. is ranked TE13 in consensus ECR, just one spot behind Pitts (TE12), and presents a viable alternative in the Browns-Falcons matchup; the source acknowledges an argument for starting Fannin over Pitts but recommends consistency and sticking with one tight end rather than chasing week-to-week production.

Insight page

J.K. Dobbins

PositiveProjection25:05

the source would start Dobbins over Damian Pierce if Jonah Coleman is out; positioned as a preferred option in the running back hierarchy due to superior talent and matchup considerations.

Insight page

Jawhar Jordan

NegativeInjury11:11

Placed on IR, opening volume opportunity for Woody Marks in the Texans backfield.

Insight page

Jaylen Warren

PositiveMatchup20:30

Warren has a favorable matchup this week; the source describes his situation as 'sailing downwind' compared to Hubbard's tough Buccaneers defense, suggesting a more advantageous Week 7 opponent.

Insight page
NegativeRole22:28

Warren faces potential volume concerns due to Mike McCarthy's historical pattern of splitting carries between talented backs; McCarthy did this with Aaron Jones and Jamal Williams in Green Bay and has continued the practice with Warren and Rico Dowdell in Pittsburgh, suggesting a possible 50/50 split despite Warren being the superior talent.

Insight page
NegativeRole23:14

Historical pattern under Mike McCarthy: even when one back is clearly the better player (like Aaron Jones over Jamal Williams in Green Bay), McCarthy has maintained a 50-50 split; Warren's current situation mirrors this precedent, suggesting concerns about a true timeshare are well-founded.

Insight page
NegativeRole45:51

Warren is mentioned in the context of overlapping backfield usage with Najee Harris and Jaylen Helani; the source notes that Warren hasn't been as exciting as earlier in the season and faces a non-ideal matchup, though the Steelers' pass defense matchup is better than the Chiefs' run defense matchup.

Insight page

Jonathan Taylor

PositiveMatchup44:34

Taylor is the only Colts player the source is willing to start in Week 7 against the Vikings, even coming off injury; the Vikings' defense is considered beatable for running backs, making Taylor a must-play despite his recent injury status.

Insight page

Jordan Addison

NegativeProjection40:49

Addison hasn't had a great season overall, but last two games show 142 yards and a touchdown; source prefers Addison over Scadaboo this week due to Scadaboo's fumble risk and uncertain workload. However, a second the source counters that Addison is the third option in Vikings offense behind Kyler Murray's wide receiver and tight end, with only 21% team target share, making him less reliable than Scadaboo's potential workload increase.

Insight page

Jordan Mason

NegativeRole45:30

The source expresses concern that Jordan Mason's first game back from thumb injury could result in a limited role similar to Rico Dado's return last week, where the returning back did not immediately reclaim a 50-50 split. This suggests Mason may not be a full-time option in Week 7.

Insight page
PositiveMatchup45:33

Mason is favored in a flex decision over Josh Downs due to the Dolphins giving up the second-most fantasy points to running backs; even with a 40/35 workload split, Mason should outplay Downs, who faces the Vikings' third-stingiest slot receiver defense and has scored no touchdowns in three straight games with sub-50-yard performances.

Insight page

Josh Downs

NegativeMatchup45:06

Downs is faded in a flex decision against the Vikings; he has not scored a touchdown and has posted fewer than 50 yards in three consecutive games; the Vikings defense has given up the third-fewest points to slot receivers, making this a poor matchup despite slot receivers typically being hot routes against blitz-heavy defenses.

Insight page

Josh Jacobs

PositiveProjection23:40

Expected to receive 12-14 carries in his first game back from injury against Detroit; the Packers' run defense ranks 32nd in DVOA and adjusted line yards, while Detroit's run defense has deteriorated significantly from prior years; Jacobs has maintained conditioning and was allowed around the team during absence, suggesting no Eddie Lacy-style rust concerns; the source ranks him at 16 and would start him even with a six-touch disadvantage versus Damian Pierce due to matchup quality.

Insight page
PositiveProjection43:24

The source ranks Jacobs RB20, ahead of both Ollie Gordon (RB19) and Rondre Stevenson (RB18) for Week 7 starts. Consensus has Jacobs at RB16, Stevenson at RB18, and Gordon at RB19, making Jacobs' ranking more conservative than industry consensus.

Insight page

Keenan Allen

NegativeRole43:34

Allen is identified as the Colts' best receiver, supporting a preference to avoid other Colts pass-catchers like Josh Downs in Week 7 flex decisions.

Insight page

Kyle Pitts

NegativeRole47:37

Pitts is ranked TE12 in consensus ECR alongside Harold Fannin Jr. (TE13); the source advises against chasing production week-to-week and recommends sticking with one tight end for consistency rather than rotating based on matchups, though Pitts is the preferred play this week tied to the better quarterback situation (Penix over Watson).

Insight page
NegativeMatchup50:47

Pitts faces the 49ers, who smother tight ends due to Fred Warner's elite off-ball linebacker coverage; the 49ers have given up the third-fewest fantasy points to tight ends and have not allowed a touchdown to a tight end this season, making Pitts a fade despite his three touchdowns in his last two games.

Insight page
NegativeValue50:52

The source prefers starting Kyle Fannon over Kyle Pitts despite Pitts' recent touchdown streak, citing Fannon as the better player; Fannon has been quiet with two catches for 13 yards in his last two games but remains the preferred start.

Insight page

Kyler Murray

NegativeUsage42:22

Kyler Murray is the primary target in Vikings offense; even with missed time from Hawkinson, Murray is second on team with 21% team target percentage, ahead of Jordan Addison who is third option. This context frames Addison as less reliable than his recent production suggests.

Insight page

Marvin Harrison Jr.

NegativeRole30:31

Marvin Harrison Jr. left the Cardinals, and his absence has impacted Michael Wilson's role and production. Wilson has taken on the sacrificial lamb role that Harrison was previously filling, running downfield to draw coverage. The source notes that Harrison leaving doesn't make as much difference as one might expect since he was only getting three targets a game, but his absence has shifted the offensive dynamic and role allocation.

Insight page

Michael Penix Jr.

PositiveProjection2:26

Penix is ranked QB18 in consensus ECR, just one spot behind Watson (QB17), but the source prefers him over Watson for Week 7; efficiency metrics are strong despite lower completion rate—yards and touchdowns per attempt are comparable to Brock Purdy, a top-tier QB—making Penix a viable start against the Browns despite the Falcons' matchup.

Insight page
NegativeMatchup50:20

Penix faces a tough matchup against the 49ers' sixth-ranked pass defense DVOA; he provides zero rushing value and is averaging only 27.5 pass attempts per game while the Falcons are the fourth-heaviest run team in the league, limiting his volume ceiling.

Insight page

Michael Wilson

PositiveRole29:35

Michael Wilson is filling a sacrificial lamb role similar to what the Jaguars do with Brian Thomas, running downfield to draw coverage rather than being a primary target. In the two games without Marvin Harrison, Wilson's separation score, win rate, and targets per route run all declined; his average depth of target jumped from 9.3 to 13.7, mirroring Brian Thomas's concerning pattern from last year when Barker Washington emerged. The source is not in full panic mode but concerned enough to rank Wilson behind consensus and doubly concerned given the Broncos matchup this week; the source does not expect Wilson to be a wide receiver one this season due to this role constraint.

Insight page
NegativeProjection31:26

Michael Wilson's recent production has been poor: seven targets and four catches for roughly 30 yards in each of the last two games. The source ranks Wilson behind consensus due to matchup concerns and role uncertainty, and is worried about both Wilson and Tate Pittman this week and rest of season. While the Cardinals schedule improves after the Broncos (Cowboys, Seahawks, Rams, Chiefs, Washington, Philadelphia, Jets, Saints, Raiders), the source remains concerned about Wilson's ability to produce given the current role constraints.

Insight page
PositiveUsage46:48

The source notes Wilson has been a volume disappointment this season despite averaging just under 10 targets per game; when removing his 17-target outlier game in Week 3 against the 49ers, he has exactly 7 targets in four of his other five games. His efficiency metrics are poor: 9.7 yards per catch, 5.5 yards per target, and 1.43 yards per route run—described as 'really disgusting numbers.' He is ranked WR25 for Week 7.

Insight page

Ollie Gordon II

NegativeProjection43:24

The source ranks Gordon RB19 for Week 7, behind Josh Jacobs (RB20) and ahead of Rondre Stevenson (RB18). Consensus ranks Gordon at RB19, aligning with the source's projection.

Insight page

Omar Cooper Jr.

PositiveSleeper2:14

Rookie wide receiver ranked WR32 in consensus rankings for Week 7, making him a starting candidate. Despite limited sample size due to high ankle sprain in Week 1, Cooper has shown immediate production: 30-yard catch on his only route in Week 1, then 100+ yards and a touchdown upon return in Week 6 (second touchdown negated by offensive pass interference call). Prospect profile shows versatility (slot and outside alignment), strong after-catch ability, and excellent catch-point skills; described as 'an absolute gamer at Indiana.'

Insight page
PositiveSleeper3:15

Cooper had over 100 yards and a touchdown in his debut (second TD wiped out on offensive pass interference call); the source loved him as a prospect at Indiana—versatile (slot/outside), tough after catch, great at catch point. Despite not having a great training camp and reports he might not beat out Isaiah Williams for the number three receiver role behind Garrett Wilson and A.D. Mitchell, the source is willing to gamble on him given the small sample size. With Mitchell out, Cooper becomes the number two receiver on the Jets, creating value that didn't exist before. Ranked WR32 against Miami, with a Romeo Lockett comparison; placed in tier two of wide receivers in the draft.

Insight page
NegativeMatchup4:00

Cooper's WR32 ranking against Miami is constrained by matchup volume concerns: both the Jets and Dolphins are bottom 12 in pass percentage and bottom seven in plays per game (Dolphins 54.6, Jets 59). The Jets have run as few as 27 plays in a single week. While Cooper has a higher ceiling given his talent and A.D. Mitchell's absence, the limited offensive volume on both sides makes it hard to get invested, keeping him at WR32 despite the upside.

Insight page

Saquon Barkley

NegativeInjury26:00

Limited practice participation on Wednesday following injury; the source speculates Barkley will not return this week, reasoning that the Eagles would avoid activating him early while playing hurt or underperforming, as it could damage his trade value; only full practice participation would suggest likely return.

Insight page
NegativeDepth Chart45:46

Barkley's return from IR this week creates workload uncertainty for the Eagles' backfield; his overlap with Emmanuel Wilson is more concerning for Wilson than Devon Veille's role is affected, suggesting a potential committee approach that could limit Wilson's touches.

Insight page

Tre Tucker

NegativeBust5:45

The source expresses frustration with Trey Tucker's inconsistency: 'one every five games, and then he disappears.' Tucker has a pattern of one strong performance followed by a month of being benched or sidelined, creating a boom-bust cycle. Coming off a stellar performance with a couple of touchdowns, the source barely ranks him ahead of Omar Cooper this week, primarily because the Rams may push the ball more and writers have to play catch-up, not because of confidence in Tucker's consistency.

Insight page
PositiveValue6:18

The source ranks Trey Tucker slightly higher than Cooper Kupp for Week 7 starts, citing improved floor consistency this season. Last five games show at least four catches and 41-43 yards per game, yielding an eight-point PPR floor—not explosive but reliable. The source notes Tucker's unpredictability historically but emphasizes the floor has been better this year than in the past, making him preferable over Kupp despite being separated by only two ranking spots.

Insight page

Woody Marks

PositiveBreakout11:11

Planting flag on Marks as RB2 reliant on volume against Giants' trash run defense. Already favored before Jawar Jordan's IR placement; has been more efficient than David Montgomery this year. Giants' run defense is historically weak with poor pursuit angles; Texans should be in positive game script, potentially grinding clock with McCarthy's conservative approach, setting up huge day potential.

Insight page
PositiveMatchup25:05

Faces the Giants, whose run defense has looked decent but not great; the source prefers Marks over Damian Pierce despite Pierce's higher volume, citing Marks' superior talent and matchup quality.

Insight page
PositiveProjection54:12

The source is making a touchdown prediction for Woody Marks against the Giants, flagging him as a breakout candidate to score in Week 7.

0:04Grainger, for the ones who get it done. Hello everybody, welcome into the FantasyPros - Fantasy Football Podcast.
0:10I'm Ryan Warmly, joined by Jake Seeley from The Athletic and by Pat Fitzmaurice and we are talking Week 7 Starts and Sits.
0:16We're running through some popular waiver pickups and are you starting or sitting them this week?
0:21Some touchdown calls at the end of the show and everything in between.
0:25Fitz, how are you doing here today? I'm doing great, Worm.
0:28We are getting a glorious run of fall weather in Chicago.
0:32I've been enjoying that. Good dog walking weather and my brewers are about to play in the World Series.
0:37So I'm pretty excited about that too. Yeah, how could you be thinking about anything else basically at this point?
0:43If I was in your shoes, I certainly wouldn't be.
0:46Jake, how are you doing? I'm doing good. I'm doing, I mean, I can't get me to say it because I'm behind
0:53the paywall in the athletics so I don't get to be part of the competition, but I've been number one since week two.
1:00So I'm going to make a little humble brag on there.
1:03That's not even humble at all. That's just a straight brag.
1:06Just a brag. I was still part of it.
1:09I would actually be number one since week two.
1:12The humble part is that you're saying only since week two, not since week one.
1:16Yeah. So that's what's making me a little bit more humble.
1:19A little bit of a run this year. The one year, it's been, I think, three years since I've been in the competition.
1:26Of course, I finished number two. I finished number one in the pre-draft ranks twice and baseball twice, but I've never done number one in season.
1:34Yeah. Well, Hey, that's why people should listen to this show because you're obviously going to check you, check out your work
1:41at the athletic, but also listen to the show so they can hear some of your starts and sits.
1:46Yeah. Even if they're not seeing it on the site.
1:49And Fitz influences me sometimes. These conversations that we have, like, I know he says, after Jake said, like, I might have to move my guy.
1:57It goes both ways. That's why I think this is a great show to be able to do.
2:02Yeah. Yeah. We're happy to be doing it. For sure.
2:05But there's plenty of other good ones there. And again, go check out his work at the athletic as well.
2:11All right. Let's do a, let's start with some starting or sitting popular waiver ads.
2:16Number one guy that I want to talk about here this week.
2:19This was, I felt like a weaker group of names to work through because a lot of the names were frankly similar
2:26guys that we talked about a week ago. One name that we didn't talk about a week ago was Omar Cooper Jr., the rookie out of Indiana Fitz.
2:34Is he somebody that you are considering starting this week?
2:37If you picked him up, he's ranked right in that range where we often do find guys that we talk about in this segment.
2:44He's wide receiver 32 in the consensus rankings for the week.
2:48Boy, he was a hard player to rank this week.
2:51I've got him wide receiver 32. So I think that does put him squarely in the starting zone for this week.
2:57And it's been a small sample size. Just a handful of plays in week one before he had that high ankle sprain.
3:03But he did, I think on his only route, have a 30 yard catch in week one.
3:08And then he comes back and immediately has over 100 yards and a touchdown and had a second touchdown wiped out on
3:15a terrible offensive pass interference call against Tim Patrick.
3:18So I loved Cooper as a prospect coming out.
3:20He's an absolute gamer at Indiana. He could line up in the slot.
3:24He could line up outside. He's really tough after the catch.
3:28He's great at the catch points. Had that spectacular game winner against Penn State last year.
3:32That was one of the best catches you will ever see.
3:36Yeah, and I know he didn't have a great training camp.
3:39And there were reports that he was maybe not going to beat out Isaiah Williams to be the number three receiver behind Garrett Wilson and A.D.
3:47Mitchell. But I think this guy's good. And I'm willing to sort of gamble on him, even though the sample size is small.
3:54When A.D. Mitchell comes back, we'll have to reassess.
3:56But with Mitchell out, the number two receiver on the Jets, there's actually value to that now.
4:01And there didn't used to be. Jake, Omar Cooper, wide receiver 32 against Miami.
4:05Is that too high, too low or just right compared to your rankings?
4:09I don't know if everybody saw. And if you're just listening, you didn't.
4:13But I chuckled when Fitz said 32 because that's exactly where I have him.
4:17It comes down to it. Also, if Fitz remembers, it's a long time ago, so probably not the comparison I made for
4:24him because I love to smash players together. It was Romeo Lockett is the comparison I make.
4:29So I'm with him. He was in my tier two of wide receivers in the draft.
4:34But the biggest thing, and I broke this down in the rankings column over the athletic, and I said this is like,
4:40I'm actually more concerned because it's the matchup and not like, oh, I'm definitely afraid of the Dolphins.
4:46Because part of it is that the Dolphins have been a factor of how many plays they don't run, I should say,
4:52and then some of the opponents they play. But the biggest thing is they're both bottom 12 in pass percentage, the Jets
4:59and the Dolphins, and they're both bottom seven in plays per game.
5:02The Dolphins 54.6, the Jets at 59. So it's hard to get invested on either side.
5:07We've also seen the Jets, what was it, 27 plays that one week?
5:11Because both teams run the ball. Both teams grind out the clock.
5:15So the volume of plays is why I would want to put Cooper higher, given everything we've said and what Fitz just said.
5:22I'm in complete agreement. I was hoping and actually thinking I could get him as a fringe wide receiver too before looking deeper into it.
5:29It's just like the fact of we might only get 40-something plays on both sides of the ball, and then it's just a volume game situation there.
5:37So I think there's a higher ceiling than being number 32, but I think that's a fair spot to have him given the situation in this matchup.
5:45And obviously the first wide receiver is still going to be Garrett Wilson.
5:49Who would you guys prefer between a guy like Cooper or Trey Tucker this week?
5:53They're very close in ECR. We're not talking about Tucker later on the show, so I wanted to ask.
5:59Coming off of a stellar performance, last thing with a couple of touchdowns, Jake, do you prefer Tucker or Cooper this week?
6:06I hate Trey Tucker. I hate Trey Tucker only because we've been doing this the entire Trey Tucker career.
6:11It's like one every five games, and then he disappears, and it's like, oh, this is why you should love Trey Tucker.
6:18And it's like, yeah, and then he's going to be on the side of the mill carton for a month, and we're
6:24going to come back and be like, oh, this is Trey Tucker again.
6:28That all being said, this is frustrating. I have him barely in front just because I feel like this could be the
6:35Rams pushing the ball a little bit more, and the writers have to play catch up.
6:40And maybe we finally get back-to-back Trey Tucker weeks.
6:42I will say, all that being said, the lower floor is with Tucker, in my opinion.
6:47Fitz, what do you think about that one? I have Tucker ranked a little higher, and Jake is right.
6:53It's always sort of unpredictable with Trey Tucker. But I will say the floor has been better for Trey Tucker this year than it has been historically.
7:01Yeah, so last five games for Trey Tucker, at least four catches in 42, 43 yards, 41 yards in each of those games.
7:08So that's right, an eight-point PPR floor. I mean, you're not doing cartwheels if you get eight points in a PPR format from one of your starting receivers.
7:16But you're also not going to lose because of Trey Tucker.
7:19So I think just because the body of work is a little more complete with Trey Tucker, I would go with him over Cooper.
7:26But they're separated by two spots in my rankings.
7:29The other name I want to talk about in this segment is Jalen Knoll coming off of a great performance.
7:35And really, Fitz, we talk a lot with Debra about it.
7:38We just think Jalen Knoll is a pretty good player.
7:41Debra especially talks about that a lot. In this current iteration of the Texans offense, is he somebody that you're willing to start this week?
7:49Yeah, freak athlete, sub 4'4 speed. I think his vertical jump was like 41.5 inches.
7:53And right now, Jalen Knoll is averaging a league-high 15.9 yards per target and also 2.69 yards per route run.
7:59Super efficient. The problem is that he hasn't had more than five targets in a game this season.
8:05And, I mean, it's getting to be a crowded group of pass catchers for the Texans.
8:09Nico Collins obviously is going to get his share of targets.
8:13They've added Marvin Harrison Jr. Tank Dell is coming back.
8:16Xavier Hutchinson is still annoyingly around. So, you can't count on target volume.
8:20But, man, Knoll's been really good. So, I've got him just barely ranked inside the top 40.
8:25He's a little fringier this week. But, that's in a four-team bye week.
8:29So, maybe you're forced to play Jalen Knoll. And I don't think it's the worst thing.
8:33Yeah, Jake. He's been wide receiver 36, wide receiver 18, wide receiver 7 across the last three weeks.
8:39So, again, just inside that top 40 range for Fitz.
8:42That's lower than he has been performing three weeks in a row just on really great efficiency.
8:47Where is he ranked for you? Actually, a little bit lower than Fitz.
8:51And it really just comes down to who he truly is.
8:54Knoll's the same. Which, by the way, it's funny.
8:57We're going to get two pronunciations that a lot of people get wrong in this one.
9:01Fitz got it right. It's not Noel. I actually thought that for his first entire year.
9:06But also, up until this year, apparently, nobody was telling us it's Flannoy and not Flornoy.
9:11But, you bring up Flannoy, Knoll, Kalief Raymond. Like, these kind of Yoshivis before he got hurt.
9:16Like, these are the names that are like they're the third wide receiver.
9:20They're going to have big games predicting when they're going to happen.
9:23It's going to be impossible. So, I'm always okay starting them.
9:27Like, just because I have Noel behind Fitz and down like in the lower 40s doesn't mean like, oh my god, you can't start Noel.
9:34If you needed a Hail Mary play. But these names, why I bring all of them up is because given what the
9:41offense can do, given what they can do any given week, you have the potential for a top 20 performance.
9:47You also have the potential to have two fantasy points.
9:50Like, the floor is almost a zero with these kind of players.
9:53So, if you want to go for it, it's not so much a testament that like I hate Noel compared to Fitz.
10:00It's just that I'm always going to rank these kind of wide receivers as back-end wide receiver fours.
10:05And that's just because of who they are. So, it's not anything more than like that context is needed.
10:11Jake, do you have Flannoy ranked ahead of Noel this week?
10:14I do. I do. How many spots? Almost 10.
10:17Oh, okay. I do have Flannoy ranked one spot higher.
10:20Okay. Noel's two spots higher in consensus for what it's worth.
10:23I also don't think that the Giants necessarily need to be passed on the entire game.
10:28And I think if you're looking at the last two games for the Texans, and it did hit for Noel last week,
10:34but it's been coming back around as the defense starting to play a little better.
10:39The pass versus run has actually gone down quite a bit the past two weeks for the Texans or two games.
10:45So, I look at that and like that's part of it too, a volume situation.
10:50I know that the Cowboys are going to continue to pass.
10:53I know that the Texans might not need to.
10:56That's the difference there. Yeah. It's concerning that the Texans have been kind of pass-heavy and Noel still hasn't had more than five targets in any game.
11:04Right? Yeah. Yeah. Let's go to the plant your flag segment.
11:07Speaking of the Texans, Jake, start us off here with who you're planting your flag on.
11:12Yeah. Woody Marks. And it's just because I've been saying this for a couple weeks now.
11:16I'm starting running backs against the Giants, and I was already on Woody Marks before the surprise of the IR for Jawar Jordan.
11:23Now they have to elevate Agubawale. And it's not that like the goon can't get involved.
11:28It's just that Woody Marks was already going to be RB2 reliant on volume, and we were okay with that after last year.
11:35He's been a little bit more efficient this year.
11:38He looked better than David Montgomery. But the biggest thing coming down to it is the Giants' run defense is trash.
11:44It's the trash, right? Like we wanted to start Giants or players against the Giants for the longest time in the run game for the past two seasons.
11:52And it looked like that might change at the beginning of the year.
11:56And I'm not saying Brian Burns is the only reason their defense isn't any good because you can't just lose one player
12:03and go from good run defense to bad. Is if you watch the Giants, they don't know how to pursue.
12:09They take the worst angles when tracing down players, including Krosky Merritt in that game from a few weeks ago.
12:15So like I just look at the fact that like the Giants' run defense is I want to start a running back,
12:21period, let alone one that's going to get 80% of the volume against them in a game where like the Texans should hopefully be in.
12:29And if McCarthy goes as bad as McCarthy can go, because he's just Jameis with a zippier ball, this could be a
12:35game where they're grinding out the clock. And if they're grinding out the clock, I mean, we might see a huge day from Woody Marks.
12:43What do you think about this flag plant here, Fitz?
12:46Yeah, I don't mind it. I agree. I kind of had hopes that the Giants' run defense was going to be better earlier this year.
12:53And it's kind of starting to fall apart a little bit.
12:56So and, you know, Marks is going to get a really high share of things.
13:01Fellow Marquette University high school graduate, Dare Agumbawale, is probably not going to get more than like a carry or two.
13:07Might get a couple of targets. But yeah, I think it's going to be a lot of volume for Woody Marks against a pretty bad defense.
13:15Where's he ranked for you, Fitz? I have got Woody Marks.
13:18Sorry, I've got to switch over from wide receivers.
13:21I think I've got him just inside the top 20 at, yeah, 17.
13:25That's exactly aligned with consensus. That's where I put him to.
13:28One spot behind Jacobs. And that's only because Jacobs is facing the Lions.
13:32Yeah. Fitz, who are you planting your flag on this week?
13:35I'm going with Tyler Higbee. And I have him ranked tight end nine.
13:39And I almost worry that that's too low. So just seems like, and granted, there could be tight end production chopped up three ways.
13:46Maybe we see Colby Parkinson get a lot of targets.
13:49Maybe we see Davis Allen chip in. But no Terrence Ferguson yet.
13:53And there's no Devontae Adams for the Rams, who's going to be out for like two months with a hamstring injury.
13:59I think Higbee is going to be really involved.
14:02And he has been really involved, even with Adams playing.
14:05So I think this could be a smash setup for Tyler Higbee.
14:08Tight end 10 in consensus, Jake. Where are you at?
14:11I'm at nine, too. This is going to be a fun show if we just keep agreeing on everything.
14:17As we say, every single player so far that's been mentioned, I think he has the same range.
14:22It's weird so far. It's like 100% lockstep. But yeah, it really comes down to it.
14:27It's funny that he said the Davis Allen thing.
14:30You know, like, are we going to get a carry from Davis Allen, too, and just annoy the crap out of us?
14:36But it just comes down to like what we wanted is a tight end that we knew didn't have involvement from other options.
14:43And for now, Terrence Ferguson is still out. Not only that, Terrence Ferguson is not coming back next week when first eligible.
14:50They've already said that. So for everybody out there, the reason I bring that up, I know this isn't a waiver show,
14:56is that I have a feeling like Fitz has him.
14:59We both have him at nine. That Higbee is going to be in the tight end one conversation for a few more weeks, at least.
15:07Yeah. Erickson and I on Tuesday had this very long conversation about how Terrence Ferguson was this great, you know, pickup if
15:13available on waivers or trade target, you know, get him thrown into a deal right now.
15:18And then shortly after that, they came out already saying that he's not going to be ready to come off the iron.
15:25Like to that point, if they're already announcing it this early, that doesn't feel, you know, particularly optimistic about his return.
15:31Yeah. I mean, Higbee, like again, with this opportunity with Ferguson out and obviously Devontae Adams out, like I feel like he
15:37simply must be inside the top 10. And then just a question of how high you get with it.
15:43Fitz, is there anybody that might surprise people that you would start him over this week?
15:48um pitts yeah yeah i mean a lot of people are gonna chase the kyle pitts touchdowns um dallas goddard i'd much
15:54rather start higby than goddard okay goddard is higher in consensus how about even if oh go ahead i was gonna say
16:01the one i have him one spot in front of it goes tonight so you have to make the decision so you're
16:08probably gonna i would start him over loveland what do you think about that i have loveland ranked one spot higher yeah
16:14well lovely really cold but yeah that is a i would hate to have to make that call loveland is three spots
16:21higher in consensus actually so there's a small gap yeah he's he's tied in seven this week in consensus higby i mean
16:27that's coming from somebody i hope i'm wrong about that because i had loveland in tier one of tight ends this year
16:34so like i hope this is like the turning of the corner but i'm just worried about the usage for the bears
16:40for the entire season but this week should be okay but yeah we'll see i need to tell everybody about a new

17:20you deposit just 10 all right guys first starts it player debate here at running backs how about jalen warren or chuba
17:26hubbard this week looking a little bit higher in the rankings than we usually do uh jake i'll start with you on
17:33this one hubbard or warren well i know one is going to get 80 of the work and that's why i'm going
17:39to go with chuba hubbard rico daddle's first game back i think was getting eased back in and i still expect warren
17:46to be the lead and get the volume of the touches over daddle but if something were to happen in that game
17:53and all of a sudden it ended up banging a 50 50 split like we saw before the injury it wouldn't shock
17:59me but at least i know harvard's going to get i mean 80 actually might be low and i still believe and
18:06really have this entire like so let's start the season off because i know some people were like well you wanted to
18:12wait and see because i just got this question in the chat at the athletic it's like you wanted to wait and
18:19see on the panthers i was like no i wanted to wait and see if i trusted bryce young um and two
18:25weeks ago before their buy in that matchup i was like you know what it's time like he actually is here this
18:32is working the dave canales offense is working and as long as it's working and i think it will for the rest
18:38of the year i'm not afraid of matchups either way when i'm going to get that volume in offense that i also
18:45believe in so i'm going hubbard over warren and it's a decent gap they are back to back in consensus tight or
18:52excuse me not running back 10 and running back 11 so again they're both ranked highly but i'm seven and where is
18:58warren um why can't i seven and 13 okay so yeah definitely obviously a more sizable gap there and having it flipped
19:05in terms of who's ahead uh fits what about you again 10 and 11 respectively in consensus we are going to have
19:11some disagreement on this show that's great um i realized that chuba basically has the panthers backfield to himself um he played
19:1874 offensive snaps last week against the eagles trevor etn played three and anthony tyus the third aka trey tyus played two
19:24snaps so 74 out of basically 79 running back snaps um rico dowdle back from the toe injury last week for the
19:31steelers warren still played 74.7 percent of the offensive snaps for pittsburgh but dowdle 10 touches and actually had more receptions for
19:37warren uh rico had three warranted two really annoying after mike mccarthy sort of promised us that uh jalen warren had seized
19:44command of the lead back job but normally i get where jake is going on this because for me normally um workload
19:51trumps matchups like i i care more about workload than matchups but in this case i think the gap in matchups is
19:57maybe a lot bigger than the the gap in workloads um the steelers facing the saints in france the saints have given
20:04up a league high 701 rushing yards and a league high 11 rushing touchdowns to running backs the run defense ranks last
20:10in both dvoa and epa per play and hubbard is going up against the buccaneers run defense seventh in dvoa third in
20:17epa per play buccaneers are always tough against the run with todd balls they're giving up the second fewest rushing yards per
20:23game only the jaguars allowing fewer and opposing running backs averaging just three and a half yards per carry against the buccaneers
20:30so it's just such a tough matchup for chuba hubbard whereas i feel like you're sailing downwind a little with jalen warren's

22:15at staples.com jake what do you think about the matchups in in this ranking uh completely understand the matchup i i understand
22:22it 100 but when it comes down to the volume situation i just i just i trust hubbard versus what fits was
22:28saying there also is that part of my argument was that what if it's 50 50 and i'm not saying it should
22:35be i just this is also something we started to begin the season with and i go to the fact that hubbard's
22:41worst game is rb12 this year 7 7 8 9 and 12 like i just i'm gonna roll with him on that
22:48that alone yeah and if it's 50 50 mike mccarthy stinks because jalen warren is so much better than rico dowdell we
22:54all know that we also said that before mccarthy got there though we were saying that about jalen warren versus najay harris
23:01and whatever it is with the steelers what's in their water or whatever they just like they just keep doing this they've
23:07been doing this entire jalen warren career they've been doing and remember it when mike mccarthy was in green bay the whole
23:14free aaron jones thing when it was jamal williams and aaron jones splitting carries and everyone knew that aaron jones was the
23:21better player but it didn't really matter to mike mccarthy so maybe maybe your fears about a 50 50 split are well
23:27founded next uh running back debate here and this is one where when i put together the sheet just yesterday these guys
23:34were back to back in ecr there now is a bit more of a gap here in the consensus ranking it's josh
23:40jacobs coming back uh for the packers or damian pierce again they were back to back as of uh just yesterday but
23:47they're now about five spots apart in ecr fits what do you think about this one jacobs or pierce i have to
23:53go with jacobs um probably not getting 20 carries in his first game back but he's probably getting at least 12 carries
24:00and while the packers running game has been bad uh their running game ranks 32nd dvoa their offensive line is 32nd in
24:07adjusted line yards jacobs should help things and the detroit run defense has not been nearly as impregnable as it has been
24:13in recent years it's actually been kind of bad um but this is mostly about me not wanting any piece of the
24:20eagles offense except for maybe devante smith just pierce yes he did have the eagles backfield pretty much to himself last week
24:26with saquon barkley out um did score a touchdown but he needed 16 touches 12 carries four catches to grind out 50
24:33scrimmage yards and it felt like a huge win if you had damian pierce last week to get 50 yards and a
24:39touchdown in that offense i just i don't want anyone from philadelphia except maybe devante jake yeah i have a decent gap
24:46and that's even before the potential saquon barkley returns so obviously that would change everything that yeah practice in that it just
24:52well i want to put that out there for everybody um but let's say barkley's still out i still have damian pierce
24:59at 23 i know the matchups there against the cowboys but i would start marks and i'd even go dobbins well dobbins
25:06if no jonah coleman there's another one in there uh but just these situations where like pierce is as much as i
25:12like woody marks he's also getting to face the giants as somebody who's actually looked decent not great he's looked decent damian
25:19pierce just still looks like damian pierce so uh chasing that volume versus josh jacobs if you told me what fits kind
25:25of said if there was a six touch difference i'd still take josh jacobs he's also got an amazing matchup against the
25:32lions so uh they've already said that josh jacobs has stayed in shape he was allowed to be around the team at
25:38certain points so it's not like he's gonna come in and like look like the fat uh josh jacobs or not no
25:45isn't josh jacobs who was the one for eddie lacy it's not like he's coming in like eddie lacy for the packers
25:52um so even 12 to 14 touches against the lions i would play jacobs i have him at 16 so to give
25:58you an idea so by the way oh go ahead i i was just gonna say i'll i'll bet saquon barkley does
26:05not come back this week really why would they why would they risk nuking his trade value by bringing him back early
26:11when he's playing hurt or looking terrible behind this awful limited practice on wednesday though like normally i don't pay i don't
26:18pay attention to wednesday practices unless it's limited returning from injury that was the surprising thing is like that was it so
26:24yeah if it was a full practice i mean i guess then you have to concede that he probably comes back but
26:31i don't know man like i would if i were howie roseman i would be saying no we're not activating him this
26:37week let's get so versus mike garofalo let's get him head to head yeah let me let me throw out a couple
26:44of different names then instead of pierce because that one was it was too easy what about ollie gordon or remandre stevenson
26:51tonight fits or are there those like closer with jacobs or are you still starting jacobs over all of them no i've
26:57got um jacobs rb20 i have our ollie gordon rb19 and remandre stevenson rb18 okay so both of them you would go
27:04with the opposite direction okay you have jacobs ahead of all of both of them i go jacobs stevenson gordon okay that's
27:10more aligned with consensus it goes jacobs 16 and consensus stevenson 18 gordon 19 i would even for everybody out there asking
27:17just to throw another name that i know you didn't ask him but he's in that same range as the aaron jones
27:23i would start jacobs over here and jones with jordan mason's first game back although that being said aaron jones is only
27:30back here and not further down because i think that jordan mason could fall into what we just saw with rico dado
27:36last week is that first game back it's not that 50 50 split that we knew fitz what do you think about
27:43that one jones or jacobs jones for me and i kind of do think that jones is still going to be sort
27:50of the lead back or at least like the the 55 45 guy in in mason's first week back could be wrong
27:56about that since it was a thumb injury and not like anything leg ankle knee related but i i suspect that aaron
28:03jones is still going to operate as the the number one or at least the 1a this week for minnesota let's go
28:09to two guys who are back to back in consensus as of today carnell tate and michael wilson our first wide receiver
28:16debate here they are wide receiver 24 and wide receiver 25 respectively fits who do you prefer oh man i have wilson
28:22ranked one spot higher than tate and it does not feel good i don't think there's much doubt that carnell tate is
28:29the better player uh it's been just mostly empty volume for wilson this season he's averaging just under 10 targets a game
28:36and has a 23.7 percent target share but 9.7 yards per catch 5.5 yards per target 1.43 yards per route run those
28:42are all really disgusting numbers um and tate didn't do much his first couple of games but he's hit 19 ppr points
28:49and or higher in two of his last three games both guys kind of tricky matchups wilson gets the broncos um i
28:55don't know if patrick sertan is going to be back he had a limited practice wednesday although i know james palmer of
29:02nfl network tweeted that he thinks sertan comes back in week eight not week seven but still with or without sertan the
29:08broncos are a pretty tough matchup for passing attacks and uh tate is probably going to see a lot of denzel ward
29:15the browns best cornerback i guess i just feel a little more confident about the passing volume for the cardinals they're averaging
29:2139.2 pass attempts per game 29.5 for the titans so you get about 10 more pass attempts per game for the cardinals
29:28that's why i'm taking wilson you mentioned like nearly 10 targets a game for wilson that's pretty boosted by his 17 target
29:35game in week three against the niners like you take that out it's even lower four of the other five games he's
29:41had exactly seven targets in there so um you know that volume is again really kind of boosted by that one performance
29:48um yeah jake what do you think about this one again they're back-to-back in consensus so it seems like the industry sees
29:54this as a toss-up yeah i'm with fits in their back-to-back and i do have wilson one spot in front i'm behind
30:01consensus on both though because of the matchups but also this i included like i'm not full-on panic mode yet but watching
30:07that game it was like hey michael wilson guess what you get to fill in the sacrificial lamb role that marvin harrison
30:14was doing kind of what the jaguars continue to do with brian thomas like hey you just run downfield and yeah we
30:21don't care about you because you're just going to draw coverage because the bigger thing too is and i brought this up
30:27in the column so the separation score win rate and targets per route run the two games without marvin harrison michael wilson
30:34all down across the board all of them and on top of that his a dot has jumped from 9.3 to 13.7
30:40because he's falling into that brian thomas concern from the jaguars from last year as soon as barker washington became a thing
30:47again not full panic but enough to say my point was that michael wilson won't be a wide receiver one this season
30:53because of that if they're going to do that to him it's enough that he's behind consensus for me as like a
31:00fringy wide receiver too because the matchup on top of it even without sertan it's still the broncos um so all that
31:06being said is like i'm kind of concerned about both of them because of the matchup and i'm doubly concerned about wilson
31:13and all that still being said fitz brought up the volume i'll still go with the cardinals pass offense versus the titans
31:20pass offense but i'm worried about both this week honestly rest of season do you have a preference jake it's wilson okay
31:26yeah i because i mean obviously like he hasn't he's had two bad games in a row right seven targets four catches
31:33roughly 30 yards in in each of the last two games and not not that martin harrison jr leaving like really makes
31:39that much of a difference when he's getting three targets a game but um it's it's almost like they bounce back and
31:46forth sorry to jump in as the reason why is because like the cardinal schedule like you can almost like feel when
31:52you feel good about it because look at their schedule they got broncos this week but then they get the cowboys and
31:59it might be a little bit more concerning now with porter but then at seattle rams chiefs oh god um washington philly
32:06by and then jet saints raiders so if you can survive long enough it gets pretty friendly down the stretch outside of
32:12the quinia mitchell situation but it's enough to like again i i think the biggest thing i want to take away from
32:19this is not like oh my god michael wilson a thousand percent over tate i think that the fact that they're in
32:25this conversation as much as i like michael wilson by a gap over tate initially now that it's this close is something
32:32worth considering especially if you're thinking about trades coming up fits rest of season for you i prefer tape because i'm worried
32:38that the cardinals are going to give like at least five starts to carson back and those probably aren't going to be
32:45pretty but but what if that lower a dot and he has to throw to him like 17 times a game like
32:51we got that one week could be i just i don't think they're going to let carson back a rookie come in
32:58and let it rip 38 times a game like they let jacoby brissette do hey why but what better way to get
33:05your evaluation right another receiver debate here is xavier worthy or denzel boston boston limited in practice on wednesday uh he did
33:11play through that foot on uh on sunday this week so assuming he's gonna play uh but he's wide receiver 28 xavier
33:18worthy wide receiver 31 jake who do you prefer boston i have a few spots it's not a huge gap but a
33:24few spots xavier worthy is going against the seahawks i think that they have similar ceilings as we've seen potentially arguably more
33:31volume should go worthy's way than boston's way but again going to seattle against the defense i'd rather just chase boston for
33:37both of them have big play upsides uh i just take like it's not like tennessee's a gift matchup i just rather
33:44go to tennessee than go to seattle worthy coming off a game with seven catches on seven targets for 73 yards he
33:50was water super 24 this week uh second best finish of the season um fits who do you prefer here i prefer
33:57the player who's actually good so denzel boston um and there's like a seven spot gap for me okay wide gap here
34:04and i know recency bias boston had one catch for 15 yards last week and it was his least productive game of
34:10the season by far uh he had put up at least 12.9 ppr points in four of his other five games and
34:17you know boston has just been really efficient 10.8 yards per target uh the kid's just a baller i think he's going
34:23to be a star i have been clinging to hope for xavier worthy and i think i was above consensus on him
34:30in my draft rankings this year but man 1.44 yards per route run 7.1 yards per target when you watch him play
34:36like xavier worthy is just not very good at the act of catching the football which seems kind of problematic for a
34:43wide receiver like the ball so many times the ball just kind of like rattles off his hands on first contact and
34:50then he kind of corrals it i know worthy had a good game against the chargers last week and his target share
34:56was like approaching 30 it's probably going to be high again because rishi rice probably isn't playing and the chiefs have other
35:03injuries a wide receiver but yeah i couldn't play xavier worthy over denzel boston if the matchups were even but then you
35:09factor in worthy against seattle no thank you so i know you said the gap where are they actually ranked boston 27
35:16worthy 34 there's 27 there for okay so roughly in line with consensus on boston and then just lower on worthy um
35:22what about worthy or omar cooper they're back-to-back in consensus worthy barely a little higher you said cooper higher fits and worthy

35:49okay let's go to more of the rapid fire start sit decisions here another running back one for you guys how about
35:55kendra miller versus tyler algier jake i'll start with you on this one miller or algier neither i really don't want to
36:02start either it comes down to alvin camara if he was out i know he's already limited practice so it sounds like
36:08he should be involved if he was out it'd be kendra miller easily even against the steelers but as of right now
36:15i still have even with uh camara in my rankings i still have miller in front of algier just because also facing
36:21the broncos and if anybody watched that game it was objectively subjectively no matter what way you want to cut it bam
36:28knight looked better than algier i still concerned that algier is going to get the goal line opportunities but again he's facing
36:35the broncos so like how many of these are we really going to see in this game at least bam had some
36:41explosiveness and i'm not saying go chase bam knight isn't like oh my god you have to smash him into your lineup
36:48but i would go knight over algier which means i'm going kendra miller over algier both of these guys are inside the
36:54top 30 at the position this week in consensus so yeah you saying like oh neither is like well the rankings are
37:01like man who else are you gonna put here i would go returning over both of them yeah that's like i don't
37:07want to start them uh fitz what do you think not only against each other but also the range that they're ranked
37:14yeah i've got algier 25 um kendra miller 26 it's just i feel the same way about jake basically the only reason
37:20i have algier one spot hires i feel like the matchup is a little easier for algier broncos are 16th in dvoa
37:27against the run they've kind of had tackling issues um and the steelers their run defense eighth in dvoa i just feel
37:34like it's a little bit trickier a matchup for kendra miller how about another wide receiver one wandale robinson or jaylen noll
37:40who we mentioned earlier in the show fits i flipped on this one i initially had wandale rank slightly higher but wandale's
37:47ceiling is like basement rec room low uh 4.2 catches per game there's only been one game where he hasn't had at
37:53least three catches so there is a floor with wandale but he's averaging 5.5 yards per target and 1.29 yards per route
38:00run um whereas noel as mentioned before a league high 15.9 yards per target 2.69 yards per route run so this is
38:06sort of empty volume versus uh boomer bus splash play potential and i will take the splash play potential jake yeah there's
38:13been one game one where wandale robinson's finished higher than wire receiver 36 so and actually though i think that was the
38:20only other game he was even inside the top 40 if i'm not mistaken but either way wandale also started losing snaps
38:26last week so no don't start wandale robinson would drop wandale robinson i had him on my drop column i'll tell you
38:33your answer there yeah that that does make that one pretty easy uh he is ahead of jaylen dobbins earlier how about
38:39dobbins or jameson williams this week like this comes down to like the jonah coleman situation needs to be watched because i
38:46know he's activated and playing that does necessarily mean he's going to play this week if he does i would actually lean
38:52towards jameson williams and hope that like there's what the excitement that we expect to be in that game but as of
38:59right now i go jk dobbins just because the usage that sean payton's been giving him and a matchup with the cardinals
39:05where i think that you could also potentially just get volume in the second half with the lead um of course that
39:12could go sideways but again i'm talking about 15 16 plus touches for dobbins that would change with coleman i don't think
39:19coleman immediately steps in and becomes the lead option it's just it's not like dobbins has been amazing dobbins has kind of
39:25been volume reliant like what's the difference between dobbins and woody marks honestly so far so um that's where it comes down
39:32to if like i don't want to sound like i'm trying to straddle the fence here it just comes down to if
39:38coleman's active i'll go jameson williams as of right now i'm going jk dobbins fits i have to vehemently agree with mr
39:45seeley on this one uh i i feel like jmo's the easy choice you've got packers lions in in ford field the
39:51coors field of the nfl in a game with a vegas total of 53 and a half and yeah i know jameson
39:58williams has been disappointing so far he is wide receiver 32 in fantasy points per game but he's wide receiver 12 in
40:05expected ppr points per game according to fantasy points data so this is a dude who's gone over 1100 yards each of
40:11the last two years over a thousand yards um the good stuff is coming for jmo and we already started to get
40:18it the last time we saw him he had two touchdowns first two touchdowns of the season against the cardinals in week
40:24five and then the lions went on by so i just i don't know what we're hanging our hats on with dobbins
40:31like rushing volume great he's averaging 3.3 yards per carry for a team that can't score like he's had two touchdowns uh
40:37he doesn't do anything as a pass catcher he does have eight catches this season for 27 yards like do i want
40:44the guy in the broncos offense which makes my eyeballs bleed every time i watch it or do i want the guy
40:50in the lions offense playing in a stadium where every game is a freaking pyrotechnics display so i jmo by a mile
40:57for me on this one by a mile uh dobbins is ranked higher in consensus flex rankings this week by about uh
41:04seven yeah seven spots um so a vehement agreement from you guys there how about cam scadaboo coming off a no touch
41:10game versus jordan addison fits this is hard man we don't know whether uh cam scadaboo has gone in front of the
41:17parole board trying to get out of fumble jail no idea what his workload is going to be maybe he goes right
41:23back to being the lead guy uh naji harris released this week maybe that bodes well for scadaboo but giants haven't really
41:30been running the ball effectively regardless they are last in rushing success rate and we know scadaboo is going right back to
41:36the bench if he fumbles again and when you get a reputation of being a fumbler you are going to have defenders
41:43peanut punching you in every single carry so i'm i'm going to go with addison isn't having a great season but last
41:49two games 142 yards and a touchdown i just do not want to play the risk game with scadaboo and be disappointed
41:56when he gets five carries jake uh vehemently disagree no not vehemently i just wanted to say vehemently just because uh it's
42:03dead actually i am going back to scadaboo i think the nausea harris thing was telling um not so much because he
42:09complained and got released but just that they let him go and like we've done this and to be clear fits isn't
42:16wrong about the whole fumble situation but we've done this with tyrone tracy like i think we're just waiting for when tracy
42:22does it himself at this point and then he disappears into the void like everybody else has and singletary gets touches but
42:29the biggest thing i come down to is and this is just maybe me confirmation biasing my priors on this but it
42:35just comes down to that when it comes down to the vikings and kyler murray kyler murray's wide receiver tight end and
42:42it's been proven that even with the missed time from hawkinson he is second on the team with a 21 team target
42:49percentage like he's ahead of addison it's addison's the third option and maybe he hits on two three receptions for a touchdown
42:55and the higher ceiling i will say addison but i just think this was message being sent message received and we're going
43:02back to scadaboo now i don't think this means 70 of the workload for scadaboo i don't believe that he's been amazing
43:08completely agree with fits on that part he's been actually disappointing as a runner um but it just comes down to the
43:15fact like i just feel like with everybody healthy for the vikings addison's the one that continues to get left out i
43:21do kind of feel like scadaboo it will be back to business as usual it was sort of a one game benching
43:28pseudo benching that um that the message will have been hopefully received i mean in the eyes of harbaugh that's just kind
43:34of my guess but um i guess we don't know for sure how many messages does this dude need by the way
43:41don't do backflips over busted ankle don't do like like dude like maybe he needs like a brain like the fish oil
43:48like it needs to work better it's it's a player that needs messages and a coach that loves sending messages so it's
43:54uh not surprising it maybe went this way uh another flex how about jordan mason in his return uh or josh downs
44:01jake mason just because the best receiver for the colts is keenan allen and it just comes down to that on top
44:07of the fact i don't remember if fitz and i were the one that talked about it or it's another show or
44:14whatever it might be it's freaking daniel jones against the vikings and brian flores whose defense is still like we talk about
44:20this on often and i don't remember again if it was on this or another one but i looked into it and
44:27emory hunt was the one that gave me the answer uh kudos to him but wow why brian florence's defense works so
44:34well for the first half of the season it starts to tail off is because it has to do with the conversations
44:40between the offensive linemen of assignments and the gelling of offensive lines and being able to pick up the blitzes but forces
44:47defenses on another level even past that where that might that fall off might not happen and if you remember what happened
44:53to daniel jones the last time he faced flores on top of the fact that it is flores versus the colts like
45:00i'm just i don't want any colts this week outside of jonathan taylor and even coming off the injury on the other
45:06side of the bowl which you run against the colts very easily most of the time i'm just going to take jordan
45:13mason in this one fits yeah thank you jake for saying that keenan allen is the colts best receiver because i said
45:19that on the ranking show and erickson strongly disagreed with me but i kind of feel like keenan allen is better than
45:26josh downs downs has just been really frustrating hasn't scored a touchdown he's had fewer than 50 yards in three straight games
45:33and he's going up against the vikings defense that has given up the third fewest points to slot receivers which i thought
45:39was kind of weird i thought as much as the vikings blitz slot receivers are often the hot route guys figured maybe
45:46slot receivers against the vikings decent matchup not so at all um so i'm gonna go with mason yeah we don't know
45:52what the vikings are gonna do as far as dividing the workload but the dolphins are giving up the second most fantasy
45:59points to running back so even if it's a 40 35 share i think jordan mason is still gonna outplay josh downs
46:05one more flex emmanuel wilson or devon veille fits i'll stick it with you here yeah so i'm gonna go with veille
46:12sac charbonnet came off ir this week not clear what the workload split is going to be like against the chiefs but
46:19it's a pretty tough matchup for um the seahawks let's see the chiefs giving up 63.8 rushing yards per game 3.2 yards
46:25per carry to running back so um yeah and if if wilson doesn't get a clear majority of those rushing attempts against
46:32the tough chiefs rundy man it the outlook is pretty bad so i'll go with veille jake i will too mostly because
46:38the overlap for charbonnet returning is more concerning for wilson than it is for helani and that's really what comes down to
46:45as well is that if it's a full blown committee i mean that we might get a third a third a third
46:51and just because charbonnet and wilson are overlapping each other and then helani still gets his so i veille hasn't been as
46:58exciting it was to start the season it's not a great matchup but to fitz's point the steelers past defense matchup is
47:04a better one than the chiefs run defense matchup so that leans me towards veille too i'm gonna loop uh quarterback and
47:11tight end together because uh it is the browns did you do that quarterback and yeah i did and they're back to
47:18back at both positions in ecr but it's browns versus falcons so a quarterback is to sean watson and michael pennix jr
47:24at tight end it's kyle pitts and harold fan and jr again both a browns versus uh falcons uh you know matchup
47:31here i want to have fun with it a little although how much fun can you really have uh you know with
47:37these guys but uh yeah so quarterback and tight end browns or falcons jay could you prefer for these two uh i'm
47:44going with the falcons plural uh not that i like fitz and i talked on my podcast by the way if you
47:50want to listen to more fits i had him on this week and i do agree with him like i do like
47:57fanning for the rest of the season and i'm trying not to chase production with pits um and honestly like i see
48:03an argument to take the opposites pennix and fanic but i will go for this week pennants and pits uh just chase
48:10your tight end and then stick with him for the rest of the year don't make the mistake of like chasing last
48:17week chasing last week chasing last week because then you always get the misses all that being said it comes down to
48:23deshaun watson sean watson at the beginning of the season was like oh my god he's just a sean watson then he
48:30turned the corner like okay maybe there's something left and then what happened the past two weeks it is we're approaching halloween
48:36the dude's back to being a pumpkin and by the way good color for that team for that deshaun watson looks like
48:43trash the past two weeks and makes something very clear about pennix it's not like he's out there throwing 40 times a
48:49game but he's behind let me make this he's behind brock purdy but he's behind brock purdy and he's close in the
48:56efficiency area that's where it comes down to and that's why i wanted to before i preface and said like he's kind
49:03of similar to purdy i don't want people to lose their minds because purdy is obviously one of the top quarterbacks in
49:09the league but the efficiency has been there even with a lower reception rate because he's not completing a ton of passes
49:16but when he does the yards and the touchdowns and the efficiency has been there so i'm going panics over watson and
49:22then i'm going to tie the tight end to the better quarterback situation um even going against the 49ers and that's why
49:29i bring up purdy too but i will just take panics and pits over the grossness of what watson has been doing
49:35to that offense of the last two weeks it's been it's been awful the past two weeks i don't know how you
49:42feel good about starting anybody and i agreed like we should start boston but that's just hoping because he can catch two
49:48passes for 80 yards fits that quarterback the brown is higher it's deshaun watson at tight end the falcon is higher it's
49:55kyle pitts but again back where is watson in in watson is uh qb 17 in consensus michael panics juniors qb 18
50:02i uh at this point 12 and 13 at tight end you don't have them in here at this point and this
50:08has nothing people know i love to crap all over the giants i'd start mccarthy over watson at this point oh okay
50:15but yeah that there's like about an eight spot gap in consensus there mccarthy's qb 25 this week watson's also going against
50:21the titans like it's not like their defense is trash solace defense is turning around it's like i i don't i think
50:28this is clear and i'll see fitz grinning so i have a feeling he's going completely the opposite direction i but i
50:34think you can tell that i am completely off the watson brown strain yeah i think that's fair he did not look
50:41good the last couple weeks it's awful uh fitz what do you think can't disagree that he's looked bad the last couple
50:48of weeks but um yeah jake jake is team dirty birds i am team dog pound here so i'm going with the
50:54browns in both instances um i i cannot defend how bad uh or i can't defend deshaun watson's play over the last
51:01two weeks but the the titans their defense is ascending but their pass defense still not great 27th in epa per pass
51:0729th in dvoa um watson adds rushing value he is averaging 32.7 rushing yards per game and has run for at least
51:1422 yards in all six of his game so you know with the rushing yards being double the value of a passing
51:20yard in most leagues that's like a 65 yard head start he has on michael penix for this week because penix had
51:27zero rushing value and falcons are the fourth heaviest team in the uh run heaviest team in the league so penix is
51:33only averaging 27.5 pass attempts per game and the 49ers are a tough matchup their pass defense is sixth in dvoa so
51:40i'm going watson easier matchup rushing value um and at tight end i'm just not going to chase the points with kyle
51:47pitts like yeah he's had the three touchdowns in his last two games but the 49ers absolutely smother tight ends it's it's
51:53the fred warner effect warner is often the guy covering tight ends and he is great at it he is the best
52:00off-ball linebacker in the league maybe the best defensive player in the nfl um and the 49ers have given up the third
52:06fewest fantasy points to tight ends have not given him up a touchdown to a tight end this year i know fannon
52:13has been kind of dead in the water the last couple of weeks two catches for 13 yards his last two games
52:19i just i still think fannon's a better player than pitts and i would still start fannon over pitts so i'm glad
52:26i did this thing because we got the falcons sweep on one side and the browns uh brown sweep on the other
52:33side so that's uh that's kind of fun um let's wrap up with the touchdown calls contest here uh jake you were
52:39on running back this week yeah i could have gone easy i could have take like the gibbs or you know even
52:46henry or anything like that although maybe henry not as much with tyler huntley a quarterback but i'm going back to my
52:52flag plant woody marks is going to get into the end zone against the giants uh i'm really frustrated about last week
52:59because i was going to go two for two on tight ends like fits did and then it got called back on
53:05freaking kinkade and like then then you get anything for the rest of the game touchdown wise but i i'm going to
53:12call that woody marks not only has a good game but it gets into the end zone against the giants fits wide
53:18receiver yeah um so like jake i want to i want to make the degree of difficulty a little higher like i
53:25did last week at running back with blake quorum and just gonna pat myself on the back here for hitting on that
53:32one so uh this week i'll go with dk metcalf and by the way j it was such a you know what
53:38was so depressing about uh kincaid having that touchdown call back last week he was playing in his hometown for the first
53:45time ever in his career i believe in las vegas he's a vegas kid and it was his birthday and he gets
53:51that touchdown called back and so i know like i was like yeah like two for two oh like that's so disappointed
53:58and you see how i think worm timed this out because he gets tight ends on tight end week so like he
54:04probably has like 15 they're all gonna choose from i planned this back in week one i was like well playing it
54:11out where will it be uh i am going with uh for tight end week i'm going with tucker craft uh i
54:18just figured like you know expecting a really high scoring game lots of scoring opportunities course go to the nfl as fitz
54:24mentioned earlier only has one touchdown this season i expect that to change sort of throughout the rest of the year and
54:31this seems like as good a matchup as any to do it uh and again tight ends are tough so uh that
54:37was the direction i went here so we've got woody marks dk metcalf tucker craft as our touchdown calls fitz how you
54:44feeling about those three they feel pretty good this week yeah well you get the layup and in tight end week everyone
54:50scores i mean you can throw at least you didn't go chalk with tommy tremble who scores a touchdown every week now
54:57i actually got somebody asking me how to start sit i'm like really that actually annoyed me too because there's the darren
55:03waller like i had him as like a good play and then freaking tommy tremble doubles down i actually was assuming you
55:10were going to go laporte or craft in that game worm yeah i i don't know if this is a hot take
55:17or not i i find the tight end day stuff to be a little annoying just because like every broadcast all sunday
55:23just mentions it over and over and over again and i was like it's like kind of fun to start but then
55:30i feel like it kind of wears on me every year when we get that on sunday do you guys feel differently
55:36uh it is weird that tight end day has been like a good touchdown day for tight end so like it seems
55:43like it's not a coincidence yeah we need to like google gemini that or something because i know that google has to
55:49think that there's actually what was it like a 15 increase in ops and bobblehead day for baseball players or something like
55:56that or like it might be more than that so like i want i wonder how much this is just the reality
56:02or kind of like the madden curse where people felt like that was a thing like it's just more of like you
56:09only remember when it happens i'm kind of curious i know i feel like a tinfoil hat guy saying that but it
56:16does seem like every time it's tight end day tight end score a bunch gotter craft likely he's gonna kittle's gonna score
56:22yeah who else let's throw out a random one give us one more worm darnell washington might even get a touchdown yeah
56:29uh if you think you can nail this week's touchdowns join our free touchdown calls contest on pick sheet pick a running
56:35back receiver tight end and a bonus flex with the flex being worth double you should definitely make that flex a tight
