Amon-Ra St. Brown

NegativeProjection6:27

Despite being acknowledged as one of the best wide receivers of all time, regression to the mean analysis suggests downside risk. The source notes that 90% of his air yards have been catchable air yards compared to 70% average for wide receivers with similar air yard volume, and his quarterback is also dramatically outperforming (Matthew Golden at 63% catchable air yards). Both player and passer efficiency gains may not sustain, creating a compounding regression risk.

Insight page

Christian McCaffrey

PositiveProjection20:35

Despite losing 1.5 steps, McCaffrey remains a top-five running back in football; his EPA per rush attempt ranks number one by a mile, suggesting elite efficiency driven partly by situational football and goal-line volume.

Insight page

Christian Watson

PositiveValue38:26

Exodia runner-up candidate; the source would have loved to draft him as an Exodia but chose Mike Evans instead; identified as a potential trade target if selling high on Jaylen Warren in round six, suggesting Watson offers better upside than Warren's current role.

Insight page

Chuba Hubbard

NegativeProjection45:53

By far the most valuable player available in round eight; one of only six most impactful players of the season alongside Matthew Golden, JSN, Kenneth Walker, Jamir Gibbs, and Bijan Robinson; finished as RB1 every single week but one this season. The source notes that championship-winning teams typically roster Hubbard, Warren, Robinson, Gibbs, JSN, and Walker, emphasizing that upside wins championships, not beating ADP. Rest-of-season projection is fringe RB1 to mid-to-high-end RB2 with Bryce Young regression risk, though the source is not actively trying to sell despite overperformance.

Insight page

Colston Loveland

NegativeValue31:12

Buy-low candidate despite week-to-week volatility; the source believes he looks good and projects him as a top-5 or top-6 tight end for the rest of the season, though he carries significant volatility risk given his poor start to the year.

Insight page

D'Andre Swift

PositiveValue29:31

Round 4 MVP with exceptional consistency and floor; finished top-12 in XFP every week except one (the week he fumbled); maintains fringe RB1 value despite Manangi's injury barely changing his role; described as an every-week mid-range RB2 at worst on Ben Johnson's valuable offense.

Insight page

Derrick Henry

PositiveProjection19:22

Despite concerns about Derrick Henry appearing to run like a runway back and potentially losing a step, the source projects massive touchdown potential once Lamar Jackson returns, estimating he could fall into the end zone 1.5 times per game to round out the year. The source compares him favorably to Christian McCaffrey, who has lost 1.5 steps but remains a top-five running back, suggesting Henry's efficiency and role in a top offense will sustain his fantasy value. Once Lamar comes back, the Ravens will be one of the top offenses in football by points per drive, points per game, and red zone drives per game. Discussed as desirable trade target in package deal; source prefers the Derrick Henry side of a hypothetical trade involving Isaiah Likely and Chuba Hubbard, indicating Henry's perceived value advantage in the current market.

Insight page

George Kittle

PositiveProjection32:27

Elite consistency with Brock Purdy; over his last 20 games with Purdy (excluding one 40% snap-count game back from torn Achilles), Kittle has hit 16+ fantasy points 86% of the time, which the source describes as unrivaled at the position. Drafted as the Exodia tight end in round seven, with strategy to pair him with a later-round tight end like Isaiah Likely or Dallas Goedert for balanced upside and floor.

Insight page

Isaiah Likely

NegativeValue48:25

Most valuable pick in round nine by a large margin; ranks top 10 among all receivers in fantasy points and targets; leads all players in red zone target share; top three among tight ends in route share, first-read target share, and expected fantasy points per game. However, identified as a strong sell-high candidate for two reasons: (1) tight end position scarcity makes him expendable if paired with another top-six tight end like Colston Loveland, and (2) significant regression risk due to target share collapse with JJ McCarthy (14.3% target share vs. 30% with Jameus Winston); the source is actively sending out trade offers this week to capitalize on peak value before decline.

Insight page

Ja'Marr Chase

NegativeInjury9:15

Identified as one of the three worst first-round picks. Chase was dealing with an injury prior to his bye week, which explains down production. While the source expresses long-term bullishness on Chase's freak athleticism and explosive playmaking ability, his current injury status is a material factor in his disappointing performance, and it remains unclear if he is still injured.

Insight page

Jack Strand

NegativeBust19:18

Jack Strand is identified as a potential bust candidate in the same discussion as Drake London, flagged as a player to avoid in this draft range.

Insight page

Javonte Williams

PositiveRole22:22

Round 3 pick functioning as this year's version of last year's Derrick Henry; top two guy by carries inside the 10; major focal point inside red zone for offense scoring tons of points; volume-heavy profile with improving efficiency.

Insight page

Jaylen Warren

NegativeValue36:58

RB13 by fantasy points per game, which looks like a mega win in round six, but the source recommends selling high because the backfield split is unsustainable; currently at 55% of the backfield (down from 93% in a prior week, with a season low of 49% last week); the source believes there's no talent disparity between Warren and Derrick Henry, so the split will likely continue; additionally, Warren has just one carry inside the 10-yard line all year despite 500+ snaps, compared to Henry's 23 red-zone carries. When asked rest-of-season preferences, the source prefers Basil Tuton over Warren ("Tudin. Easy") and prefers Warren over Jameson Williams but with uncertainty ("I'll take Warren, but it wouldn't surprise me" if Williams outperformed him).

Insight page

Jonathon Brooks

NegativeInjury42:09

The source drafted Jonathan Brooks in round seven based on ESPN beat writer reporting that the Panthers want Brooks to be the lead back and that he's fully healthy, with expectations he'd overtake Chuba Hubbard by midseason. However, Brooks suffered an injury in August, which the source now views as a cautionary lesson on injury optimism. The source recommends cutting Jonathan Brooks if roster space is needed, indicating the pick did not work out and the player should be dropped.

Insight page

Josh Allen

PositiveProjection16:40

Josh Allen has been incredibly valuable, averaging 28 fantasy points per game—5.4 more than the next closest quarterback—with eight rushing touchdowns in six games, which the source notes is the most by a quarterback ever through six games. With the Bills defense regressing and giving up an extra seven points and touchdown per game, Allen will be called upon to be Superman more often, supporting his value as a round-two pick despite the source's general preference for late-round QB strategy. However, Allen picked up a knee injury and has been under 20 rushing yards in two of his last three games; the source flags this as a potential red flag, noting he has only three other such games over the previous six years, though he should be fully healthy coming out of the bye week.

Insight page

Kenneth Walker III

PositiveValue11:11

Identified as potentially the best fantasy pick in the entire draft with +2.5 WAR at pick 25 in round two. Walker ranked 3rd in fantasy value for 2026 and is incredibly efficient with 5.8 yards per carry and top-3 yards after contact per attempt; historically top-5 in missed tackles forced per attempt. After the Seahawks underutilized him with 49% backfield XFP share, the Chiefs gave him 83% backfield XFP share—one of the best in the league. Despite one down game late in the year, he was on pace for one of the best rushing seasons ever. The source projects him as one of the top 10 most valuable players in fantasy by year-end and lists him among the six most impactful players of the season alongside Chuba Hubbard, Matthew Golden, JSN, Jamir Gibbs, and Bejan Robinson. He finished as RB1 every single week but one, matching only Chuba Hubbard and Jamir Gibbs in achieving this consistency. The source emphasizes that championship-winning teams are built around these power-law producers, and that upside wins championships, not beating ADP.

Insight page

Matthew Golden

PositiveProjection45:38

The source lists Matthew Golden among the six most impactful players of the season, alongside Chuba Hubbard, JSN, Kenneth Walker, Jalen Gibbs, and Bejian Robinson. The source emphasizes that championship-winning teams are built around these power-law producers, and that upside wins championships, not beating ADP. Golden's inclusion in this elite tier indicates sustained high-end production and value.

Insight page

Mike Evans

NegativeProjection38:46

Ranks behind only JSN in fantasy points per route run; Exodia candidate selected over Christian Watson; the source notes that if Evans stays healthy (which was the big concern), he would be breaking records and performing at an elite level; injury durability is the primary risk to his elite per-route efficiency.

Insight page

Mike Washington Jr.

NegativeRole15:15

Mike Washington is characterized as a good change-of-pace back who is not expected to steal significant carries from Ashen Genty outside the short term. The source expresses confidence in this role assessment, suggesting Washington's role is well-defined and limited.

Insight page

Parker Washington

PositiveBreakout15:11

WR16 by fantasy points per game with even stronger per-route metrics; the source is doubling and tripling down on Parker Washington everywhere, calling him a league winner right now; despite concerns about target volume (hasn't received the 15 targets per week the source would prefer), the per-route efficiency and role are strong enough to warrant aggressive pursuit; the source dismisses FUD about Travis Hunter competition and Brentton Strange's higher target share, maintaining conviction in Washington's league-winner status.

Insight page

Tucker Kraft

PositiveValue32:00

Preferred buy-low alternative to Colston Loveland; the source suggests Kraft might be available at an even cheaper price point, making him a more attractive value play at tight end.

Insight page

Zay Flowers

PositiveProjection22:42

Described as 'inseason Exodia' with significant upside still to unlock; when Lamar Jackson plays full games, Flowers' yards per route run exceeds 8.0, more than double JSN's efficiency; hasn't reached full potential yet despite strong early performance.

0:00Fantasy League winners and losers here on Fantasy Football Daily on the Fantasy Points YouTube channel. Today we are getting a little retrospective, breaking
0:09down where things went right and where things wrong and what you should expect for the rest of the season. I'm Brett
0:16Whitefield, your host with my co-host Scott Barrett. Scott, how are you my man?
0:20>> I'm good. Brett, who are the most valuable players in fantasy football in 2026? Who is going to win me a fantasy
0:27championship? Who are the power law players? Who are the worst picks you could have made? Who are the best assets to own? That's what we're getting to
0:36today.
0:36>> Heck yeah. And I love the pivot cuz we normally do our buy low, sell high. And this just falls right in line because
0:43naturally you're going to get some buy low, sell high, buy high, sell low takes as we kind of grind through this.
0:55Are you serious?
0:57What?
0:59That's awesome.
1:01So sick.
1:06>> We're going to go round by round.
1:07>> Well, I think we should explain what's being shared on the screen right here.
1:11And for our audio only listeners, we'll try and make this helpful for you. But uh we're looking at players ranked by ADP and then deep dark
1:22purple versus white is how good dark purple the uh the player is and how white is how bad they are. And that's
1:30measured by fantasy war wins above replacement. So it's like fantasy points per game, but it's better at calculating positional value. In fact, it's even
1:40better than vorp or any other stat you want to look at. And shout out to my guy Lucas Gilbert who put this together for
1:49us. We're we're gonna try and get this into the front office tool as the war room which I very clever name. Um and
2:00yeah, dude, this is Lucas Gilbert. Shout out to him. Uh he's on Dynasty Points every week and he's an absolute genius.
2:07He has his masters in nuclear engineering. Like this guy's literally a nuclear rocket scientist. You know, >> he's basically Matt Patricia.
2:18>> Was Matt Patricia a nuclear engineer?
2:21>> Not No, he wasn't nuclear. He was a rocket scientist, though.
2:24>> All right. Well, you should have stuck with that.
2:26>> You're right. You're not wrong.
2:28>> Uh but but yeah, that's what I'm saying.
2:30Like this. That's why Fantasy Points is the best. We really have an allstar cast of absolute workaholic geniuses who eat, sleep, breathe football. Uh I probably
2:41have a below average intellect for uh the employees we have on staff. Um but yeah, man, it's it's so this is really
2:49cool. So he put this together for us and it's just really easy to see round by round who were the most valuable, least
2:56valuable picks you could have made.
2:57Obviously in round one you see a lot of purple. That that makes sense. All of the best players are typically drafted
3:04in round one, all the power law players.
3:06U but what I think is most interesting here staring at round one of this list is who the actual most valuable player
3:15is.
3:18>> It's it's Jackson Smith and Jigba.
3:20>> That's right. Just slightly ahead of Jir Gibbs. Um who both, you know, round up to basically three war. Everyone else
3:28rounds down to two. So, you know, clearly that's what we talk about with the power law players is um you know, Bejian Robinson is the third
3:38most valuable player in fantasy, but he's still like a full war win above replacement than the top two who are Jir
3:46Gibbs and Jackson Smith and Jigba. And the question is like do we think this is going to stick?
3:52Uh, you know, all of the fantasy analysts predict predicting regression for JSN are getting absolutely owned right now. He averages 28 fantasy points
4:02per game. That's 5.3 more than the next closest wide receiver. Uh, he has over 50% of the team's receiving yards,
4:12which, you know, as a stat again, it's like that was the most since the 1960s.
4:17So, like, do do we really think this uh can can stick another year in a row?
4:22Well, it is. Guess what? It it absolutely. In fact, it's even more insane than it was last year. And if you
4:26look at uh the most fantasy points by a wide receiver through their first seven games of a season all time, JSN is
4:35number one. Cooper Cup's record-breaking 2021 season is number three on that list. And so, >> we're seeing history being made. Uh I
4:44said it last year is like this guy should have won MVP, >> and I think you're seeing it again. I I
4:49he in a just world, he would be the MVP.
4:54And now it's a quarterback stat. It's a it's a QB win stat, but to me, yeah, fantasy MVP, I think Gibbs probably
5:02overtakes him eventually just due to positional scarcity. Uh although in a three wide receiver league, maybe not.
5:09Um but yeah, JSN >> JSN I've comped him to Thanos.
5:16>> That's that's a great comp. I mean, Thanos has a line in uh Avengers Infinity Wars where he says, "I am
5:22inevitable." That is that is literally JSN. He is inevitable. You can watch a Seahawks game and they might slow him down for a quarter or two, but literally
5:30at some point in that game, JSN's getting off and uh he's inevitable. It's It's insane.
5:36>> I've never seen >> absolutely sucked by the way.
5:39>> Yeah, did they?
5:40>> Dminus to F. Marvel slop. Hate it off. I had to watch. Definitely been true since that movie.
5:48>> No, all of all all the movies since like >> Captain America Spider-Man. [laughter] >> Bro, have you actually watched the Toby
5:55Magcguire Spider-Man's recently?
5:57>> No. Did they just age super?
5:58>> They are really bad.
6:00>> The tech the tech is so bad. Like it's the like the swinging scenes where he's, you know, going from building to
6:07building on the spider web. It's just like it looks so terrible. It's unbelievable.
6:12>> Yeah. The one >> Go ahead.
6:14>> No, you go ahead. No, you go ahead.
6:16>> I was just gonna keep talking about Marvel. So, >> uh, sound off in the comments if you want us to talk about Marvel. We'll
6:23we'll shoehorn it into the next episode.
6:25But I'm going to carry us along. The one thing I'll say about JSN is again there's all these stats implying regression of the mean. If you
6:33>> Hold on, hold on. What is regression to the mean again?
6:36>> Uh, it means he's outperforming to such a degree we should expect uh things to come down closer to the baseline. You
6:43meant hydrostatic equilibrium. Sorry.
6:45Sorry. Okay, continue.
6:47>> So, even if like we acknowledge this is one of the best wide receivers of all time, he's still like at a stat such as
6:54that is like it's not just him outperforming. It's also the quarterback's dramatically outperforming. Uh 90% of his air yards have been catchable air yards. I think
7:04Matthew Golden is at like 63%.
7:08uh and you know average for a wide receiver with you know close to as many air guards as him is at like 70%. So I
7:16don't know just different things like that but um >> he's a monster man.
7:21>> Does hydrostatic equilibrium still apply to non-neonian fluids.
7:26>> You're gonna have to ask Lucas Gilbert that question.
7:29>> Lucas Gilbert, can I do a podcast with you?
7:32>> Get this guy out of out of this chair. I want Lucas there. Maybe you should do a school of Scott science episode on
7:39hydrostatic equilibrium.
7:41>> Do does non-Newtonian fluids still, you know, does hydrostatic equilibrium still apply to non-Newtonian fluids? That's what I want to know cuz that's what JSN
7:48is, man. Whatever he needs to be in a game, he becomes that.
7:51>> He doesn't have a state. He's a flow state.
7:55>> What's the Bruce Lee water quote?
7:59>> We should we should for non-Newtonian liquids.
8:03>> Yeah. All right, Scott. Who is the worst pick you can make in first round? I mean, I know who it is, but
8:08>> I don't know. Can we zoom out a little bit? Who was who was the 12th pick?
8:12>> Jefferson.
8:13>> All right. So, it's Devon Aan. Uh, and I I think you ran bad here with Devon Achan uh suffering this injury because
8:21you're seeing Ali Gordon sort of ball out. I think uh even with the injury, he would be among the worst here, if not
8:30the worst. It's just like this offense is bad, which we knew it was going to be bad, but it's also bad and slow. It's
8:36the slowest situation neutral pace of play offense, which doesn't make sense when your team sucks as bad and you're constantly trailing. And uh it's it's a
8:45whole lot of bad going on for a team that uh again, remember, it's been alleged that the owner tried to pay a
8:51former head coach uh to lose games on purpose and he would pay him under the table $100,000 a loss. Uh might be
8:58something similar going on there. uh to the degree that they suck, it's just it's just mind-boggling. Um but yeah, I so like easy best picks you could could
9:10have made, it's JSN, Gibbs, Bejian. I think rest of season my rank order would be Gibbs, JSN, Bejian. Worst picks you
9:18could have made, it's right now it's Achan. I think that's right. He's out for the year. Come on. Jefferson two and
9:25I think that's right. You know, I'm not bullish at all on Kyler Murray. And three, Jamar Chase, which we talked about on yesterday's episode. You think,
9:34>> you know, this is a guy who wins on freak athleticism, explosive playmaking ability, yak rack, >> and do you think he's dealing with an
9:42injury of sorts? So, uh, you know, obviously bullish on Chase long term, >> he for sure was dealing with an injury.
9:48He was on the injury report before their by-week. Whether he's still injured or not, I don't know. But I think that
9:53explains some of the, you know, down production prior to uh today. So, >> yeah.
10:01>> Yeah, it's defin it's definitely notable. We had a guy in the comments trying to remind me that Jamar Chase was
10:08not on the injury report this past week.
10:09That's fine, but he was before that. So, >> um what's that?
10:15>> I know what you meant.
10:17>> Yeah, you you did. You did.
10:20Don't Don't let these haters get to you, Brett.
10:22>> Oh, they don't. I have I have fun trying to set up De's Nuts jokes in the comments and they're not falling for
10:27them, but it's >> Do you like Wendy's?
10:29>> Wendy's Nuts hits your face.
10:32>> Oh, boy. [laughter] >> Oh, please correct this from the record.
10:36Anyways, >> I don't I don't think our sponsor is going to like this. Might have >> Who is it today?
10:42>> It's um Is it still JJ McCarthy?
10:46>> Yeah.
10:47>> I don't always and forever.
10:49>> Did you know uh our last episode that we did? De those jokes got demonetized.
10:54>> Wait, really?
10:55>> It was that or because it had music, too. It was uh got that band that does uh Radioactive. Do you know?
11:04>> Imagine dragging these D.
11:06>> Round two. Let's go into round two. Uh Scott, look at this fancy chart. I think this actually might be the best fantasy
11:12pick you could have made in the entire draft. Kenneth Walker a plus 2.5 war at the 25.
11:21>> Yeah, >> that's better value than like Gibbs is great at 29, but he used the 101. So like >> you I actually don't think it really
11:30works that way. I think we kind of overrate that. I think I think Gibbs 101 is still more valuable than Walker 25,
11:37but yeah, certainly has to be more than Bejon. He has a higher war than Bejon.
11:42Uh so yeah, most valuable players in fantasy. My bad. It's it's Gibbs. No, it's JSN 1, Gibbs 2, Kenneth Walker 3,
11:50Bejon 4. Uh, and so the question everyone is asking is like, do we think this sticks? And so we were just talking
11:56regression in the mean, and it's we know Kenneth Walker is incredibly efficient, but he's miles ahead of anyone else this year.
12:055.8 yards per carry. Uh, top three in yards after contact per attempt, missed tackles, fours per attempt. I mean, he's always been top five, and it was always
12:15just mind-boggling the Seahawks wouldn't give him a full-on bellcow workload. He was an Exodia last year, and I was pulling my hair out every week watching
12:24him have a 49% backfield XFP share. I was like, "This is so stupid. This is so stupid." And then, uh, the Chiefs agreed
12:32with them. They they've given him an 83% backfield XFP share. One of the best in the league. Uh, so, but he did have his
12:40first down game of the year. before that he was on pace for one of the best rushing or the best rushing season ever.
12:47Um, and so it's it's yeah, is is is that some concern here with, you know, the Chiefs have no pass catchers. Xavier
12:54Worthy's awful. Uh, they're going to load the box against Kenneth Walker. Uh, he also has a heightened injury risk.
13:03Would you say Kenneth Walker end of the year, one of the top 10 most valuable players in fantasy?
13:10>> 100%. Yeah. Yeah.
13:13>> Yeah. We've talked about it like all my skepticism has been poured out through the first six weeks of or six games for
13:19the Chiefs where you do see the identity change and that's what I was most skeptical of. So, >> yeah, >> I I feel pretty comfortable with that.
13:26Now, it doesn't mean Andy Reid might not flip, but they don't have really the pass catchers to to be a pass heavy team
13:32anymore. So, I I definitely think this sticks.
13:36>> Yeah. I think what's interesting too, if we just linger in round two for a second, one is Ashen Genty, who you see
13:43as dark purple despite how bad he's been as a runner and really, you know, one of the worst in the league. U he's still
13:51been very valuable for fantasy. You you've seen all the tweets, he has more catches than Jamar Chase, more receiving yards than Justin Jefferson. It's not
13:59like he's a Christian McCaffrey level pass catcher. It's really just this checkown PPR scam. But that's been awesome for him. And yeah, I said this
14:09to Ryan Heath in like week two, week three, very early. I was like, "Yeah, it reminds me of rookie season Naji Harris.
14:15It reminds me of that, what was it? 2019 Leonard Fernet season." Um, but I didn't mean that in a derogatory way. Those
14:22were both Exodas for me in those seasons. It And why? Because volume is the most important thing. I love that PPR
14:30where if they're efficient, there's, you know, it could be a league wrecking season, but of course there wasn't and there isn't for for Genty this year, but
14:39just shows you how high the floor is where, hey, maybe maybe this is injury related. You know, you and I both talked
14:45to our s sources where I think it's pretty clear it's it's not. Um, but in case, you know, his ankle gets better,
14:53the offensive line starts to improve.
14:54>> Wait, wait. I think it I think it is clear he's injured.
14:58>> Well, yeah, but it's it's How much of that is really dragging him down?
15:02>> I would say pretty significantly.
15:03>> Pretty. Okay.
15:04>> Because I do think the offensive line is better.
15:06>> Yeah.
15:06>> Than it was last year. Last year you saw way more burst and explosiveness where you you're not seeing that right now.
15:11>> So you're not worried too much about Mike Washington stealing carries >> outside of the short term? Outside of the short term?
15:18>> No, I think we've nailed Mike Washington the whole way. Change of p good change of pace back. That's what >> So then Gent is honestly a buy low maybe
15:25where it's like yeah ideally he just gets healthier and healthier and then instead of being the league's least efficient runner he's merely below
15:34average and then you maintain the PPR cheat code benefit. Um so yeah and and already like as bad as he's been still
15:42extremely valuable for fantasy. I also want to highlight Josh Allen here.
15:46>> Wait, can I finish some Genty thoughts?
15:49Ashen Genty to me is like the perfect case study on sometimes we make fantasy too complicated. Like volume is 100% king.
15:59>> It's always king.
16:00>> Where it gets complicated is if you're so inefficient, you lose the volume, which we've talked about Brown.
16:07>> Yeah.
16:07>> Yeah, that's true. If we get to a point where they take that volume away from him because of the inefficient. Yeah,
16:12for sure. I will say though, he's not just a PPR scam. Like he's got 10 plus targets lined up out wider in the slot.
16:18like they are using him as a manufactured mismatch guy.
16:21>> Yeah. And we did talk about that when he was a prospect coming out of college.
16:25Like he led the f all running backs in the FBS in in catches, receiving yards is >> Yeah.
16:31>> before that record-breaking Barry Sandersesque season.
16:36>> Yeah. All right. Sorry. Continue with Josh Allen.
16:40>> Well, you know, so Josh Allen's been incredibly valuable and it makes sense.
16:44You know, he's averaging 28 fantasy points per game. That's five.4 [snorts] more than the next closest quarterback.
16:51Uh he has eight rushing touchdowns in six games. I think that's the most by a quarterback ever through six games. The
16:59Bills defense is really regressed.
17:01They're giving up a full extra seven points per game, an extra touchdown per game. So we always talked about is like
17:07when the Bills need Josh Allen to be Superman, he is Superman. He really delivers in a major way. And so uh with
17:14their defense regressing, no more Shawn McDermott. you have this offensive-minded head coach. He's going to be called upon to be Superman a
17:22little bit more. And so people are asking, you know, all right, well, why why did you recommend like shitty me draft shitty quarterbacks like Jackson
17:32Dart who got hurt and Malik Willis who sucks.
17:36Uh clearly Josh Allen's value is worth a round two pick. And that's the case every year by war. It tells you Josh
17:43Allen is worthy of a round two pick. I still don't think that's right to be drafting him there unless you're in an
17:48eight team league, maybe a 10 team league.
17:51>> Um it's And why is that? It's because if you scroll down, you'll see oh Brock Perie, Jared Goff, uh valuable
18:02quarterback picks. Um and it's just like those guys were Bryce Young. I mean, if you want to stream Kurt Cousins, those
18:11guys were basically free. And so it's just the opportunity cost relative to the the odds of getting one of these deep dark purple running backs, wide
18:20receivers. But I will say if you're ever going to draft a quarterback early, it's only Josh Allen. And then you really
18:27want to be waiting towards the end. And I think we learned that uh lesson this year and actually the past couple of
18:34years. This year it's really just been beaten into our heads. Uh does this continue for Josh Allen? Uh just the one
18:41note I had is I think if he's under 20 rushing yards this week coming out of the buy, that's a bit of a red flag for
18:48me. Um just because he's been under five rushing yards in two of his last three games. I think he only has three other
18:54such games over the previous six years and so he did pick up that knee injury.
18:59I think he should be fully healthy out of the buy, but just something to keep in the back of our minds.
19:03>> Sure. Nice. Um, other than Genty, do you see any other B low candidates in this round? This group of players?
19:11>> Uh, Drake London for sure. I I think a lot of this is factoring in uh the Cooper Rush games.
19:18>> Right. Right. And Jack Strand.
19:21>> Jack Strand.
19:22>> Gross. Okay. What about Derrick Henry as a potential bo?
19:28>> I don't know, Brett. You tell me.
19:30Because Ryan, he thinks he kind of looks like he might be washed up or he's lost a step.
19:36You know my policy. I I hate I I don't like saying this about Hall of Fame level first ballot Hall of Fame players.
19:41They they're different. They have different genes than everybody else. I just I'm never going to like count on somebody's demise. I did I did say the
19:50other day he does look a little bit more like a runway back than he ever has. But how much of that too is just no Lamar?
19:57Like is Lamar the the healer of all these wounds?
20:00>> Is November >> Yeah.
20:02Is that is that an elixir? Yeah.
20:05>> You know what I'm saying? So like >> I think I think the floor is extremely So he actually has the exact same war as
20:12Ash and Genty. So this is a >> who would you rather have both guys there's concerns regarding like how good they are uh or how efficient they could
20:21be. I think with Henry like like with Genty is it almost doesn't matter where Genty has the PPR scam. What Henry has
20:29is once Lamar comes back is this is going to be one of the top offenses in football by points per drive, points per
20:36game, red zone drives per game. So massive touchdown potential for Derrick Henry. Like even if he's lost a step, like he could still fall into the end
20:44zone 1.5 times per game to round out the year.
20:47>> And I don't think he's lost a step to be clear. To be clear, maybe like a quarter of a step, you know.
20:55>> Well, I mean, look at Christian McCaffrey. Christian McCaffrey has lost 1.5 steps and he's still like one of the top five running backs in football.
21:02>> Bro, compare Christian McAffy's EPA per rush attempt compared to the rest of the league.
21:07>> He's number one by a mile.
21:09>> Yeah, >> that's got to be purely situational football, right? A lot of it's on the goal line.
21:13>> But do you remember sophomore year Christian McAffrey?
21:17>> Yeah, that's how that's the season I thought Deon Aeen would have >> where dude, he would break off 60 yard
21:23runs constantly. like he was the only good player on the team >> and it didn't matter.
21:29>> Yep.
21:30>> He had another gear that he just doesn't have anymore. But he's still a baller.
21:34>> All right, keeping it moving. Round three here. Kairen Williams is kind of the the the sweet spot. But there's there's more than that, though.
21:42It's not just Kairen. But let's let's talk Kirn for a second. Uh >> yeah, it's uh so who you see here, you
21:48see Kairen, you see Javvante, and then you see McBride and Flowers. Uh, and again with McBride, I think it's similar to Josh Allen where it's like, okay,
21:56this looks good in a vacuum, but we don't exist in in a vacuum. We, as we're drafting, prehindsight, we don't know
22:03the answers to the test. Uh, there's an opportunity cost associated. And so, you see that, but then you can just scroll
22:10down and see KD similarly dark purple.
22:13Isaiah likely similarly dark purple. Two guys we identified pre hindsight as clear targets. But scrolling back up, Javvante is kind of like kind of like uh
22:23this year's last year's Derrick Henry almost where it's like those are the top two guys by carries inside the 10.
22:30Really a major focal point inside the red zone for an offense that's going to score a ton of points. Not terribly
22:36efficient, although he was last week. Uh and just yeah, volume's going to be awesome.
22:42Uh Z Flowers, you know where I stand.
22:46This is the inseason Exodia and we're not even he this isn't even his final form. He's gonna level up. Like he's he
22:53hasn't even went fully level seven Super Saiyan. He's only level two Super Saiyan. When Lamar comes back with Lamar, his yards per route run is over
23:03eight. Okay. You know, no one else is over.
23:06>> Has they even played a full game yet?
23:08>> Yeah. Yeah.
23:10>> I'm sort of saying that sarcastically.
23:12I'm saying >> with with Zay Flowers. I mean, sorry, with Lamar Jackson.
23:16>> Yeah. But even like this past week, I wouldn't count that a full game.
23:19>> Yeah.
23:20>> No, because because week two, they kind of just like >> checked out um in the second half. So, he only played the first two quarters in
23:29week one. Uh the game was basically over at halftime in in the second game. Lamar missed the entire second half in the
23:35third game. So, no. Yeah, but like eight yards for route run. Like look, JSN is breaking everything and he's like half
23:44that.
23:45>> Mhm. It's pretty ridiculous. This was a very very generous round I feel like.
23:52>> Yeah.
23:53>> I mean, a lot of a lot of big-time guys here. I mean, you definitely some landmines as well with >> I mean, you could argue it's better than
24:00round two.
24:03>> Yeah. I mean, round two had some big time landmines. AJ Brown, Amorian Hampton, Saquon Barkley. Um, >> I I did want to say one thing about
24:11Kairen. I think we finally figured out this Rams split backfield. Shout out to Jared Smalla of Draft Sharks, uh, who's citing fantasy points data. When the
24:21Rams are trailing, Kairen gets 76% of the work, but the when the Rams are tied or leading, Kairen gets 59% of the work.
24:32And so it's it's one of these game script backfield splits.
24:38And so we saw this, you know, the last two weeks it's been kind of a frustrating, very even split. The two
24:45weeks before that, he looked like, you know, Bejan Robinson basically, like tons of targets, and we know he's a focal point inside the red zone for a
24:53team that scores a lot of touchdowns.
24:55Um, my question to you, Brett, is like, do you see the Rams trailing, continuing to trail as much as they have, because this
25:03defense right now does not look good.
25:05>> Defense is in trouble. It was supposed to be the best in Elite. It was They were supposed to go undefeated, Brett.
25:11>> Yeah. Well, they have a literal Marvel superhero that's been on IR since week two. So, >> yeah.
25:17>> And I don't know what he's going to look like when he comes back. Aaron Donald has been good, but not vintage Aaron
25:22Donald. They have three DTackles on IR.
25:25Trent McDuffy's hurt. I don't know. I I don't know what to expect moving forward. And then and then you have Case
25:31Stafford at quarterback. So, it's very that's going to be great for for Kron Williams.
25:38>> Yeah. We got to we got to hit our sponsor for today's episode. Uh the Walt Disney Company. Uh you you you saw us
25:44trying to tie it in uh not so smoothly into today's episode. They uh they they they they paid for this this ad read.
25:51They wanted me to tell you to uh consume all of their Marvel slop. They're they're sub mediocre movies that are written by AI. Uh, just tons of CGI and
26:02sound effects for people who don't have standards.
26:07>> People who don't have standards.
26:09Scott, you have standards though, right?
26:12>> High standards.
26:13>> When you buy a product, you expect that product to be elite. Is that true?
26:17>> That's right. That's right.
26:18>> You know what product is elite?
26:20>> What's that?
26:21>> The inseason betting subscription we have here at Fantasy Points.
26:24>> Whoa. In fact, >> our head better Tom Broly and our head of projections, Chris Wet, are a combined 30 plus 39 units this season.
26:34Tom alone is hitting 64% of his bets.
26:38That means, Scott, if you were to put in a hundred bucks and tail all their picks, you'd be up nearly $4,000 already
26:44thanks to Fantasy Points. We're not even two full months into the season. This is basically like having an extra full-time job. I mean, it's pretty ridiculous.
26:52Right now, you can get access to their picks and 70% off your first month of our inseason betting package with promo
26:59code grinder. That brings the cost down to just 5250 for your first month. Head over to fantasypoints.com and start winning today.
27:09>> What was that code?
27:10>> Grinder.
27:11>> Yeah. What What do you know about Grinder, Brett?
27:13>> I know that's Tom Broly's nickname and I'm pretty sure it's a it's a a naughty app or something. I don't know.
27:21uh 5250 with promo code grinder. That's that's gr i n der. Hey, I I just wanted to say you see it on the screen here.
27:30You see um our inseason betting tracker.
27:33Like listen, like it it was really important to us that we were fully transparent here. So you could see every bet we've made, our results on it. If we
27:41were if we were down 15 units, we probably wouldn't be, you know, promoting this package, but uh you would see it. This this this page is always
27:49here. and how it you see a lot of names and I I highlighted the top two, Tom and Chris. But you have to understand those
27:56are our best bettors. Our official bettererss are only three people and that's that's what it was three weeks ago. That's what it was a month ago.
28:05That's what it's going to be for the rest of the season. Tom Broly, legend in the space. Uh he's up 21.8 units and uh
28:13hitting 64% of the time. He was over 60% last year. Chris Wet, [snorts] head of our projections, absolute genius. Uh I
28:20think the best fantasy mind in the game, bar none. And then the third one is Justin Barnes, who's down two units. So
28:27Tom and Chris are up 39. Just our official bettererss are 37. Uh and that's it. Justin, by the way, like historically always start slow. I think
28:36he's like down 10 units >> like two weeks ago. Yeah, he's already back to minus 10.
28:42Yeah.
28:42>> Right. So he's he's on a but this is how it h he's been over 60% each of the previous three seasons. I think he gets
28:49there by season's end. So those are the three guys you want to tail. Uh Alex Pendergrass who's in third place. He
28:56does a same game parlay article for us.
28:59I think he was like over 80 units two years ago. He was down last year. That's another one. But yeah, shout out to our
29:06inseason betting package. You get all of our bets in Discord. Uh, and so subscribe today, >> Scott. Before I was banned on various
29:15betting apps, I was tailing Justin Barnes and I was very happy with the results.
29:19>> Look at that. Look at that.
29:20>> Yeah. All right, let's move on. Round four.
29:25We This I feel like round four, round three and round four had a lot of surprises to me. I don't know. But, uh,
29:31the the most valuable player, if you're looking on the screen, dark purple, is DeAndre Swift, who you at one time in
29:37the offseason considered as your inseason Exodia. Uh, no. I don't I don't get credit for that. I I was very concerned I should have made him Oh, no.
29:48Yeah. My inseason Exodia. That's right.
29:50That's right. Yeah.
29:52>> Yeah.
29:53>> Listen, he's finished top 12 in XFP every single week except for one the week he fumbled where Manongi ranked second. Uh, and so yeah, just has a
30:04massive floor. Unfortunately, he doesn't have leak winning season. I was holding out hope that he did possess that, but no, we saw Manangi go down. His role
30:13barely change. It's still a very valuable one. And so, who is this? This is like an every week mid-range RB2 at worst, probably fringe
30:23RB1 and uh on a valuable offense with a you know, the Ben Johnson backfield. And so, yeah. Yeah, I I think that's I think
30:33he's gonna clearly be the most valuable player from this round. Yeah.
30:40>> Sick. Any other notes here? A lot of lot of negative EV players. I mean, we we loved >> Yeah.
30:45>> Well, I shouldn't say we were your golden boy, Mr. Ryan Heath. Our golden boy. We love him.
30:51>> Yeah.
30:51>> He was a big lad maki guy.
30:53>> Well, I I think he's just ran bad, honestly. It's like you saw the per route.
30:58He was a per route phenom and uh he just couldn't stay healthy and that's been unfortunately been his issue dating back
31:04to college.
31:05>> What do you got like Darth Vader outside your window or something?
31:09>> Uh again, today's episode sponsored by Disney. Consume all of our Star Wars slot. Thank you.
31:15>> The way you just look to your left was like there was like a >> I don't know. I had a jogger who
31:20>> was wearing a Darth Vader costume.
31:24>> Uh yeah, the Maki thing.
31:27Yeah, I do think probably good process on Ryan's part. Just just got a little unlucky. It happens sometimes.
31:33>> Good process, bad results. Yeah.
31:35>> Yeah. Yep. Yep. Any other notes here in round four?
31:38>> No.
31:39>> Any any of these guys that have underperformed you want to buy low on?
31:42Is it too late to buy low on Coulson Loveland? Probably.
31:46>> I mean, I don't know about that. I I just I don't know that I would want to >> really.
31:51>> Yeah. I mean, >> he looks good, brother.
31:53>> Okay. Rest of season, he's the tight end. What?
31:57>> Five, six.
31:59>> Yeah, I don't know. But we just saw like just the fact that he could be as bad as he was to start the year. At a bare
32:05minimum, this is a player who carries a ton of week- toeek volatility. And I understand that that kind of comes with
32:11the the position, but I'd rather buy low on Tucker Craft, who I think it, you know, might even be cheaper than he is.
32:19>> Scott, every tight end in the league not named Trey McBride and Brock Bowers is capable of that, though. That's the
32:25That's the nature of the position.
32:27>> My guy George KD.
32:29>> Did he Did he not have a stinker somewhere the season himself?
32:34>> Uh when he was healthy.
32:36>> Not with Not Dude, not with Brock Bowers. If you look at his last 20 games.
32:42>> Yeah. George KD. Oh my god.
32:44>> Two two catches 12 yards first game.
32:46>> Yeah. If you look at his Yeah. Again, he had a 40% snapshot was his first game back after a torn Achilles. If you look
32:51at his last 20 games with Brock Pury and you exclude that one game, he's hit like 16 fantasy points.
32:57>> He 24 yards in week five.
32:59>> 86% of the time, which is unrivaled at the position it's best.
33:02>> He had 24 yards in week five.
33:05>> Okay, that's fine.
33:06>> No, I'm just saying like >> he's Colston Loveland who who had zero yards in backtoback game.
33:14>> I'm not debating KD versland. Yes, I'd rather take Loveland or I'm sorry, I'd rather I'd rather have KD. My point is,
33:21every tight end that's not the wide receiver one on their team, which Brock Bowers and Trey McBride are the only two
33:26that check that box.
33:28>> Listen, I'm not wasting my time trying to get a throw in, trying to get a a bo tight end. Certainly not one who, you
33:36know, didn't hit double digit fantasy points up until a week ago. Uh tight ends, they're just not the impact positions. You need to be special.
33:45Otherwise, you're just a throwin. If you want to if you want to trade Isaiah likely for a wide receiver and then and
33:51Trey Tucker and then get get Lovelin back as a throwin, that's fine. But I I don't see him as >> Scott. He's he's played three games with
33:58Caleb Williams. Two of them are tight end one weeks.
34:03>> Okay. What did he have the first game?
34:07>> Two targets, zero catches, zero yards.
34:09Yeah.
34:09>> Yeah. In a game they dropped 60. Um >> Sam Leapora just had the basically one catch for 12 yards. Listen, just because
34:15he's gonna be better throughout the rest of the season than he's been does doesn't mean he's a >> I'm saying I think he could be elite. I
34:22think he could be elite is what I'm saying.
34:24>> Okay. All right.
34:25>> So, >> all right. Let's Let's revisit this uh next week after Seattle.
34:30>> Okay. Let's do it. All right. What round are we on now? I got distracted.
34:36>> Uh week uh round five. Round five.
34:39>> Gross. I don't I don't want to talk about this player for the 19th time this season. Go ahead.
34:45>> Yeah, it's just Beijel Tudin who uh you know was Ryan's Exodia running back in this range. A lot of people, by the way, want
34:54to hear me talk about the Exodia plays.
34:57You know, what to do with the ones that do you hold them? Um do you sell high on Parker? Do you buy low on? And uh we'll
35:05we'll if there's time at the end, I guess there's not going to be time at the end of this. We'll talk about it on
35:10Wednesday's live episode. What time is that, Brett? We're going live. First time ever.
35:16>> 8 8:30 p.m. Is that what we decided?
35:18Eastern.
35:19>> Yeah. Yeah. So, >> 8:30 p.m. Eastern.
35:21>> We'll take your questions. We'll probably start off talking about like the top three most top five most interesting questions we got on Discord.
35:30And then from that point on, we'll just take all of your start sits as they come. Uh probably go a couple hours maybe. And uh
35:39all your trade questions, start sit questions, I'll answer those live. I'm excited about it.
35:44>> Actually confirming we we decided 8:00 p.m. Eastern time.
35:48>> Got it.
35:49>> Just looking back through the the notes here, >> guys. Put it on your calendars.
35:52>> 8:00 p.m. Eastern time.
35:54>> 900 PM Central. Scott, don't forget 9 No, sorry. 7 I went the other way. 700 p.m. Central.
36:00>> 8:00 PM Eastern. Okay.
36:03Do you have anything you want to say about Basil Tuton or are we [snorts] just moving on? uh just that this was uh
36:08Ryan's boy and it and it kind of seems like there's a really high floor here where you know Ryan's arguing he's
36:15really going to pull away from the backfield at some point but it's like even if that doesn't get much better it's you know he's still RB16 by fantasy
36:23points per game with like very few actual flop you know mega flop weeks.
36:28So, um, yeah, and and his backfield XFP just continued to grow and grow up until, uh, their last game. But, yeah, I
36:37that was also when he hit his season high in fantasy points. So, again, high floor with room to be a league winner.
36:42Brett's pessimistic, but um, certainly, >> no, he's about he's about exactly what I thought he'd be. RB16. That's great.
36:49>> Okay.
36:51>> Uh, round six. Bunch of hits in round six, including an Exodia player.
36:56>> Where do you want to start here?
36:58Um, well, we'll start with Jaylen Warren, who look who looks like the best pick he could have made in round six.
37:04And so, the question everyone wants to know is, do we think this continues?
37:08Right now, he's RB13 by fantasy points per game. So, obviously, drafting a fringe RB1 here in round six looks like a mega win.
37:16Do we think it Do we think it continues?
37:19I I I don't think it does. Um, because >> with D, he has just 55% of the backfield. It's a 55 45 split. Um, and
37:28he has a season low 49% last week.
37:31Without doubt, he was at 93%. That's a massive difference. Brett again thinks there's really not much of a talent disparity between the two of them. So,
37:39this split is likely to continue. Uh, the guy is just not involved near the end zone. He has just one carry inside
37:46the 10 yard line all year. Derrick Henry is 23. Lou Nichols and Travis Homer both also have one. I like keep forgetting
37:54that they're on this team and they are.
37:56have the same number as Jaylen Warren who has like 500 more snaps. So, um yeah, we were kind of telling you he's a
38:03sell high.
38:04Still probably a sell high certainly relative to this dark purple.
38:09>> Yeah, I I like calling him a sell high assuming what is the return you're looking for if you're selling high. I
38:16think this is a vital component.
38:17>> Well, I mean, can you get any of these guys in round six?
38:21Josh Jacobs. Honestly, hot take.
38:25>> Really?
38:26>> Christian Watson, Parker Washington, Mike >> Watson would be nice. If you could if you could flip Warren for a Christian
38:32Watson, that would be nice.
38:33>> We could pull up the front office tool, but um I don't know. I there's a lot to hit on here in round six. So, yeah,
38:39three Exodas. And so, like when I called them Exodas, you have to remember uh their ADP was different. You had you had
38:46Evans, you had Parker Washington rising, you had Evans falling, and it kind of depended on the site, but Christian Watson was an Exodia runner up. The only
38:54reason he wasn't an Exodia was I I made the decision I picked Evans over him.
38:59Mike Evans right now ranks behind only JSN and fantasy points per route run. If the dude just stayed healthy, and I I
39:05know that was the big concern with him.
39:08If he just stayed, man, he would just be breaking [ __ ] It would be so awesome.
39:12Parker Washington, my guy. I know. I saw Chris Wack trying to tweet out some FUD on Parker. I ignore it. This guy's This
39:21guy's a league winner right now.
39:23>> He was tweeting out some what?
39:25>> Fear, uncertainty, doubt, FUD. FUD.
39:28>> Never heard of that.
39:29>> I think it's I think it's an investing thing, but um right now he's the wide receiver, 16 by fantasy points per game.
39:35Even stronger by all the per route stuff. What I I I would have loved what I absolutely would have loved is if they
39:42if they just sign him to that extension and they're like, "Okay, good. Now, let's give him 15 targets a week." But
39:49hasn't happened yet. Still, nonetheless, uh I'm doubling, tripling down on Parker Washington everywhere I can.
39:56>> Bro, Brentton Strange has a higher targets per route run target share than Parker Washington does.
40:00>> Yeah, I think I I mentioned that on yesterday's show.
40:02>> I know. I'm just putting it in your face for you.
40:04>> Yeah. Is some people worried about Travis Hunter? Listen, not worried about any of that. This is a league winner.
40:10It's going to happen.
40:11>> You're like a puppy that pees in the house. I got to like put your nose and just stick it right in the pee.
40:17>> It's a bad dog.
40:18>> On what?
40:20>> Just That's what I'm saying. I'm throwing Brett and Strange thing back at you like you're a puppy. It's like I'm
40:25rubbing your nose in it.
40:26>> Yeah. Yesterday's episode you said I was like your your son your four-year-old son pooping and now I'm like your potty trained puppy. Okay. All
40:37right.
40:37>> There we go.
40:40I didn't actually think about that beforehand. That's funny.
40:42>> Yeah, these are these are some strange comps. My comp for you is uh Trayvon Henderson.
40:50>> What? On based on what?
40:53>> You think I'm soft? You what?
40:54>> Soft. You suck.
40:56You're You have poor vision. You have to wear glasses that say uh FTP on them.
41:05>> What?
41:09All right. Well, Trayvon Henderson, guess that's me.
41:13>> Moving on. Um Oh, I wanted like clarity though. Jaylen Warren sell high.
41:19>> Who other say you can't get Christian Watson? What? Like what do you want? If you're selling Jaylen Warren, what do
41:25you want back? Is Luther Burton not enough?
41:30>> I'd take Luther Burton for sure.
41:31>> You would? Okay.
41:32>> Yeah.
41:34>> Cool.
41:35>> I'm really not good at these games when you put me on the spot. Like, you need to say name, >> but it's the context the listeners want.
41:40>> No, I know. I know. I know. I'm sorry.
41:42It's just I'll work on it. I'll work it into the show sheet.
41:45>> Who would you rather have rest of season, Jaylen Warren or Bachel Tuten?
41:48>> Tudin. Easy.
41:50>> Okay. Who would you rather have rest of season, Jaylen Warren or Jameson Williams?
41:55>> I'll take I'll take Warren, but it wouldn't surprise me. Yeah, it wouldn't surprise me. It wouldn't surprise me.
41:59>> All right, round seven.
42:03A lot of your draft plan was contingent on you nailing this round seven pick, and that was George KD.
42:09>> Well, yes and no. There's also another Exodia in there who's Jonathan Brooks.
42:13And so, true. The reason why I went with Jonathan Brooks, it kind of hinged upon ESPN's beat writer covering the Panthers
42:23saying, "Hey, by my team sources, they want Brooks to be the guy. He's fully healthy." Um, they think, you know, by
42:30the midway point, he's going to overtake Chuba Hubard, who in the previous season had zero explosive runs, only running back with zero. the previous season
42:39before that he had the worst yards per target by any player at any position since targets became a stat ever. They
42:45really like Brooks passcatching upside.
42:48Uh we know this is a valuable role. Dave Canalis likes the Bellcow etc etc. But a big reason for that too was also the the
42:56cost acquired is like look at this round and look at all the white like all these guys just don't effing matter. It's
43:03Courtland Sutton. It's Rico Dattle. It's um Brian Thomas Jr., it's Chris Godwin.
43:10It's Alec Pierce. It's Michael Pitman.
43:12It's Kenneth Gainwell. All these guys s like the expectation is you're going to whiff on this pick. But the upside he
43:19carried if this one beat writer, their best beatwriter was right. And I think that I think I don't know that he was
43:26wrong either. It's just hey, this guy who's always hurt got hurt. And maybe maybe that's a lesson for me on him on
43:33Mike Evans is, you know, injury optimism.
43:37And like I he did pick up that injury in August and like looking back at it, I should have just flipped to Chuba Hubard
43:44because the thesis was the people are underrating this Dave Canales uh RB1 role. Uh and so that that was on me. But um again, part of it is
43:54the ex is the cost, right? Like I do not think whiffing on a round eight pick hurts you. Like in fact that's the
44:02expectation.
44:03Um and like if you look at the juggernaut teams that win the million dollar grand prize on FFPC they don't they're round three round
44:15five six eight 11 12 picks weren't just below average picks. They were just dead and they were dropped.
44:23Like that's the way fantasy football works. you want power law producers and then everyone else is just a guy. Um, but right next to him is George KD who
44:32was also the Exodia tight end.
44:37>> You're right. You sleepy, Brett?
44:39>> Oh my gosh. No, I just >> a nap.
44:42>> I do need a nap.
44:44>> Uh, George KD, the Exodia tight end.
44:47Yeah. And and so part of the thesis with him too is, you know, he might be slow to develop and so you get to pair him
44:54with an Isaiah likely or Dallas GD, which which looks awesome right now. So um shout out to that. Yeah, that's that's a big reason why Bowowers and
45:03McBride who who are great War players were full-on do not draft for me in 12 team leagues because of the value in
45:11these later round tight ends that's generally typically always there. in round eight. We already just talked about Chuba Hubard, but he is by far the
45:19most valuable player you could have taken in round eight.
45:22>> Yeah. And again, if you look at who's winning your leagues, if you let's say you're in 10 leagues, who are the top
45:28three teams? Chances are they have Chuba Hubard, they have Jaylen Warren, they have uh Bejian Robinson,
45:38Jamir Gibbs, JSN, Kenneth Walker. Like that that is the way fantasy football works. It's the teams upside wins championships. Reread it every year. My
45:48self-proclaimed Magnum Opus. It's not the teams that have a number of players who beat their ADP. Doesn't matter at all. It's overrated. What really matters
45:58is the teams that have the most top six most valuable players. Really, only six players in any given season really, really matter. And this year,
46:09Shouba Hubard, Matthew Golden, um JSN, Kenneth Walker, Jamir Gibbs, Bejian Robinson.
46:18>> That's your six right now.
46:20>> I mean, it's it's I don't know that it's actually six. I think any given year it could be four to nine, we could say. So,
46:29>> word uh rest of season, Chuba Hubard or Bascial Tuten?
46:36Uh, that's a tough one and it's and it's actually one that Kyle meant mowled over in last week's um trade values article.
46:46Are you worried at all about Jonathan Brooks coming back and being a thing? I really feel like [laughter] >> No.
46:54>> Yeah. And so like Yeah. I I think you can cut Jonathan Brooks if you haven't cut him already. If you you have
47:00injuries piling up, you need to clear up the IR space. I think it's like, hey, our hope is that this guy stays healthy
47:07and then he suffered this injury and it's like, all right, this guy's just rip. It's over.
47:12>> Yeah.
47:14Um, is there a a side of you that thinks Shuba might be a sell high or no? You think that he's locked into this?
47:21>> Yeah, I I mean, probably. He He's finished as an RB1 every single week, but one. The only other guy to do that,
47:27I think, is Kenneth Walker and Jir Gibbs. uh certainly overperforming and we had some questions regarding Bryce Young turning back into a pumpkin. Um
47:37but he's also not someone I'm trying to sell.
47:40>> Could Bryce Young turning back into a pumpkin help him though if they go back to a little bit of a you
47:47know a lower pass rate?
47:52>> Yeah. I mean I I think it's kind of the same thing as Bejo. I think it's I think it's fringe RB1 to worst case scenario
48:00mid mid to highend RB2. Like that's that's where he lives.
48:03>> Also, not that it matters, but I don't think Kenneth Walker finishes an RB1 this past week, right? Oh, but he was
48:09every week before. Never mind. I I messed up the stat. Okay, week nine. Did I say week nine? Nine.
48:17>> Round nine. Round nine. Um, again, part of your tight end plan was Isaiah Likely was a big part of it, actually. And he
48:25was the most valuable pick in round nine by a lot. And at the time, I got to take an L here. I thought Isaiah likely with
48:31a round 980p was absurd. I thought that was crazy high. So, >> yeah. So, he's been unbelievable.
48:40Among all receivers, he ranks top 10 in fantasy points, in targets. He leads all players in red zone target share and
48:49then he's top three among tight ends in everything everything that matters route share first read target share XFP per game it's been unbelievable
48:59but he's a sellh high and he's a sell high >> for two main reasons one he's a tight end and and you can hear my contempt and
49:07disdain for the tight end position if you have two tight ends who are top six if you have Colston Lovelin and Isaiah
49:13likely on your team get rid of one of like the tight end position doesn't use that to upgrade at running back or wide
49:21receiver. Those are the positions that matter, right? And likely I think he's at his absolute peak and then just comes down and I think it it's not just
49:29trending that I think he could plummet because here's the stat for you Brett Whitefield.
49:34>> Is it involving five quarters of JJ McCarthy?
49:37>> It's involving a very small sample size of JJ McCarthy, but it's still alarming.
49:42It's still concerning. Uh he has a 14.3% target share with JJ McCarthy. Malachi Fields is over 20%. He has fewer yards
49:53than Neighbors Fields, Charlie Jones with JJ McCarthy. But with Jameus Winston, he had a team high 30%.
50:01Malachi Fields was under 10%. And so this might represent a little bit of a change in guard for a team that was very
50:08high in Malachi Fields all off season.
50:10the young guy rookies tend to come on in the second half. Malik Neighbors by another one of these guys who was
50:16ramping up ramping up and now is just an uber alpha in target share. And so um I have Isaiah likely in a ton of teams and
50:24I'm sending out trade offers everywhere this week because he has a buy and I think other team owners kind of underrate that is like yeah I want to
50:35stick them with that guaranteed zero, right? So they kind of was like, "Oh, I'm going to get Isaiah likely and I'm
50:41going to start him next week."
50:43>> Yeah. But also like get rid of that zero.
50:46>> Okay. You said use Isaiah Likely to upgrade at running back. And in a lot of leagues we I mean we've talked about the
50:51scarcity of the position. So I think about like package deal putting Isaiah likely with a running back to acquire a better running back. So I'm
51:00going to throw a hypothetical at me. You tell me if you like it or not. Isaiah Likely and Chuba Hubard for Derrick
51:05Henry.
51:07Oh, baby. Yeah, let's do it.
51:09>> You want the Henry side?
51:10>> Yeah.
51:11>> Okay. What's uh let's kind of work backwards then from there. Um Isaiah likely Chuba Hubard for John Taylor.
51:24>> He has to get traded, right? Quinton Nelson was just traded.
51:27>> Yeah, we had a question. I actually want to talk about that later. Don't don't don't forget before we get out of here.
51:31I want to talk about Jonathan T. Do >> you want to go super long today? We could I I like these questions. We could
51:35go super long.
51:36>> Yeah, we can go longer.
51:37>> It's up to the motion, man. In all honesty.
51:39>> Yeah, it is up to the motion, man.
51:41Always is. Chuba Hubard and Isaiah likely for what's after uh Ashen Genty. What about that?
51:51>> Yeah. Well, it's the same thing. We kind of just said uh probably slightly ahead of Derek, but yeah, that's that's
51:57another one. It's another one.
51:59>> Okay, cool. Just wanted to be clear on that. So any two for one like that, you feel like you're you're getting an
52:06upgrade. So >> yeah.
52:08>> All right, what's next? Round 10. Brock Pury, this is your guy.
52:13>> I know.
52:14>> And what's fascinating is when you look at round 10, there's really only two hits in all of round 10. Maybe some
52:20light some light purple there. But Aaron Jones senior and Brock Birdie. And this is just what what's a what's the >> Aaron Jones like Yeah. This is dude that
52:30that's one thing you have to remember about fantasy football is like >> it's random.
52:34>> There are seasons within seasons.
52:36>> Yeah.
52:36>> Where it's like Aaron Jones is one of my the most valuable players on my team and like now with uh Jordan Mason back like
52:45I'm expecting nothing. Like he's like like slightly richer man's JK Dobbins.
52:50And so >> he gave it all too in those final four games there.
52:53shout out to him. Uh cuz I have some, you know, teams with Breeze Hall, uh where I needed him to step up and boy
53:00did he. So, um but yeah, just again like obvious sell high. Um but yeah, it's like the first third of the season he
53:07could be a league winner. The the last twothirds of the season he's just basically worthless. That's how the game of fantasy works.
53:15And that that should be inspiring to some of you who are off to slow starts is like all you need is to to get lucky
53:20like that or catch fire like that or pick up the right waiver ad like that.
53:25>> Brock Pury, you know, being the main guy in in this round 10, it's interesting because it just backs up your whole
53:32thesis of weight on quarterback.
53:34>> Yeah. Just wait. Just wait. And then you nail party or golf in the next round.
53:39But yeah.
53:40>> Yeah. Yeah. And it's and it's another one of these things that's kind of disappointing to me where again if you
53:44look at my rankings my rankings were you know according to you know who Brett you know best in the industry >> Lord Voldemort.
53:51>> Yeah. But the the Exodia calls weren't as good. And uh but I thought I came close I came close to J to Jackson Dart
54:00who I I'm so sure would have been a smash home run and Brock Pury my guy who's always been my guy. Maybe I put on
54:06too many uh CEO things on my plate this offseason. I don't I don't know why, but >> or I should have just listened to Ryan
54:12more because Ryan kept trying to make this argument and I kept pushing back.
54:15>> Um, which is another thing I always chased the Konami code quarterbacks.
54:19You're not seeing a ton of that this year. No one's really running outside of Josh Allen and Jared Goff is a top three
54:24quarterback. Brock Pury, well, Brock Pertie's running a little bit more, which is part of the thesis. But listen, this guy is the most underrated
54:33quarterback in football every year of his career. uh since he came into the league. Easily leads all quarterbacks in EPA per drop back. Is top three in every
54:41single stat except for turnover worthy throw rate, which is whatever. Is actually kind of good for fantasy, but he leads in fantasy points per drop
54:49back. He's second behind only Josh Allen in fantasy points per opportunity.
54:53>> And he's balling out uh despite despite an injury plague supporting cast.
55:01>> And so maybe that's you you could you could spin it two different ways, Brett.
55:06He averaged 27.3 fantasy points per game over the first three weeks. Over the last month, 17.1 with nearly a new season low every single week. And so
55:17it's hey, is this was that just like a hot start or is this hey, he's going to go back to that when Mike Evans gets healthy, when
55:27some of these other guys get healthy, or when they trade for Josh DS?
55:32>> Well, I think the big concern Oh, I like that. I like that you worked that in there. I think the big concerning thing
55:36though is like the schedule lightened up a little bit. Like Washington and Atlanta were presumably not super strong. Like Atlanta's definitely
55:44exceeded expectations, but Washington certainly hasn't. So like you would expect to produce against those teams and he just he didn't. So I also think
55:53it's unreasonable to to think that they were going to sustain what they were doing with the injuries they've had for the entire season. So it's probably a
56:00little bit of a middling there.
56:02Um, round 11. Matthew Golden, Jared Goff.
56:08Anytime you say a Packers's name, I got to say FTP.
56:11Dude, Matthew Golden really looking like one of the best picks you can make.
56:15Shout out to uh Jacob Sanderson, who is all over the I was a big hater on Golden the Prospect, and then he had an all-time bad rookie
56:24season by every stat except for ass.
56:28And then Jacob's like, "Yeah, but like he was still a round one pick. tons of targets up for grabs. Should lean pass
56:34heavy with Josh Jacobs suspended. And so he talked me into drafting him on some FFPC teams, moving him up my ranks.
56:41Clearly not nearly enough because this looks like a fantasy wide receiver one.
56:45He's 14th in fantasy points per game. He is the wide receiver five by raw targets, wide receiver one by air yards.
56:54That's 14 more targets than Christian Watson.
56:57Um, and the downside here is he leads the league and drops by a lot. He leads the league and drop air yards by a lot.
57:07And so I was talking about JSN as a potential negative regression candidate given his 90% catchable airyard rate. Matthew Golden
57:1860%. To me, this looks like two he's a positive regression candidate and a major buy high because the volume's so good, but he's running bad with drops.
57:30Like even if he's Jameson Williams levels of bad, Matias Bukinger levels of bad with with the hands. Uh it's he's
57:40not going to remain this bad. He's dropped 111 airs, which, you know, depending on where he dropped those, it could have been
57:50like an extra like 36 fantasy points. I know he dropped one inside the ed end zone.
57:56>> He did.
57:56>> And a few more. Yeah. And then a few more >> he could have had Yak on it and got to
58:00the end zone.
58:02>> Um, and so yeah, he looks like a major positive regression candidate. The only question is if Jordan Love is just like
58:10sick of this BS. It's like, "All right, this guy can't catch. Let's go back to Christian Watson, who's awesome." And Jordan,
58:16uh, the running back is back. Why am I blanking on his name?
58:21>> Josh Jacobs.
58:21>> Josh Jacobs. I was trying to say Jordan.
58:24>> Josh Jordan. I don't >> Yeah. The thing with Golden is he really has taken a big step forward from rookie
58:33season Golden to now. Like the ass was good last year, but it wasn't um it was a lot of improv. his new role as the ex.
58:42Like I want to give Graham Barfield credit too because in the summer shows I did with him.
58:46>> He talked a lot about all these Packers receivers at cost were good good buys because of the consolidation. They got
58:52rid of their nine receiver rotation and went with just a three guy thing. So >> um I I think that that definitely paid
58:58off.
58:59>> We did get on this early too as like major buy trade for targets.
59:04>> Absolutely. Jared Goff here as well.
59:07He's having a you know historical good season. Yeah, historic indeed. 14 touchdowns and zero interceptions. Um, that's tied for the most
59:17touchdown passes with zero interceptions through this many games. He's second in just net yards per attempt. He's third in fantasy points per game. What
59:27changed, Brett? What's the big difference here? And it's he went So last year is 12th in fantasy.
59:33>> I know what it is.
59:34>> Go ahead.
59:36The Lions are throwing inside the 10 yard line more than they ever have. Is that it? That's right.
59:40>> Yeah.
59:40>> Okay. Nice.
59:41>> So, so last year he was 12th in fantasy points per game, but 20th in XFP per game. This year he's fourth in XFP per
59:50game, third in fantasy points per game.
59:52And so, where are all those XFPs coming from? Those expected fantasy points.
59:56Again, it's he's they're throwing more inside the red zone. This was always the Jared Goff thesis. I tweeted out two years in a row, not not this year
60:06ironically, that um is one of the best MVP bets in the board because the Lions are always bottom five in red zone pass rate over
60:16expectation. So, if they were just middle of the pack, he could be a league winner. You saw it with Matthew Stafford
60:22where the Rams were always bottom 10, bottom 12 in red zone pass rate over and then last year flipped to top three. He
60:31pads a stat with a bunch of touchdowns.
60:33Um extra greedy inside the red zone wins MVP. And so yeah, this year they're 15th in pass rate over expectation inside the
60:40red zone. Just 15th over the last three years before that they were 26th. And so Goff over his previous four seasons, second,
60:51fourth, fourth, fifth in passing touchdowns, second, second, second, sixth in passing yards. That's really all it would take for him to be MVP. And
61:00so you said this a number of weeks ago and I agreed with it. Best MVP bet on the board is Jared Goff.
61:08>> Yeah. Still is too.
61:09>> Still is till to and I agree with that.
61:12But I'm going to put you to the test.
61:13We're gonna go Lord >> one v one. All the quarterbacks with better MVP odds than Jared Goff currently.
61:20>> Who has a better chance of winning MVP in your mind? Lions homer, Brett Whitefield.
61:26>> Okay.
61:28>> Drake May or Jared Goff?
61:30>> Jared Goff.
61:32>> Jared Goff or Patrick Mahomes?
61:35>> Patrick Mahomes.
61:37>> Jared Goff or Caleb Williams?
61:40>> Caleb Williams.
61:42>> Okay. Jared Goff or Trevor Lawrence?
61:45>> Jared Goff.
61:46>> Jared Goff or Joe Burrow?
61:48>> Jared Goff.
61:49>> Jared Goff or Brock Party?
61:52>> Brock Pury.
61:53>> Okay. And Josh Allen.
61:56>> Yeah. Okay.
61:58Well, still, yeah, best bet on the board. Good value there. Agree with that.
62:03>> Nice. Uh, >> seems to stick and I think it will I think it will stick.
62:07>> Well, some of that too is no Monty. He was kind of their battering ram on the goal line.
62:12>> Yeah. but not for the Texans who what he marks there.
62:15>> He's their battering ram in the training room. So >> yeah.
62:17>> Um and then also they have really not been a good short yardage running team.
62:23>> Second ones, third and ones, fourth and ones, goal line stuff, they they've just been okay and that's something we're not
62:30used to. The lines normally it's like they can kind of do what they want in those short yardage situations situations. So down in the the high red
62:37zone area, that's that's tough for them.
62:39So they got to throw the ball in.
62:41Anyways, uh round 12 here, last round we're going to cover today. Jaylen Coker being the prime the optimal pick here.
62:48Um how much better is your fantasy team if you hit on Jaylen Coker?
62:53>> Uh 0.6 wins above replacement. So like again that's that's not a lot because I mean that's basically the gap between
63:02uh Kenneth Walker and Gibbs basic but but it's he has missed some time.
63:09I feel like it's a lot if it's a 12th round pick. That's a lot for a 12th round pick.
63:14>> Yeah, for sure. I mean, like everyone's kind of very light white purple in this range. Uh, but he's 23rd in fantasy
63:20points per game. He was drafted as the wide receiver 56. But again, this is what I keep trying to tell you is like a
63:26low-end wide receiver too, even if you get him at a wide receiver six price tag isn't that value. But that's why we
63:33really swing for the fences in these rounds. I did not write up Coker as as a great pick. I He was probably buried in
63:41my rankings. Why is that? I just didn't see a ton of upside for the wide receiver too and a Bryce Young le
63:47offense. Um but yeah, he's been awesome.
63:50And the stat everyone wants to cite is if you look at their last 10 full games together, Coker and Ted McMillan,
63:58um Jaylen Coker averages more yards per game. He averages more fantasy points per game, more yards per route run, more targets per game.
64:07It's 68.8 versus 61.3 yards per game.
64:11So, to be fair, it's close. What I would say to that is I don't really think it's real. The last game Coker went off, it
64:18was a perfect schematic matchup. The game before that, it was also another perfect schematic matchup. and then the the the stats from 2025, Ted McMillan
64:28was dealing with a serious uh foot injury that he was playing through. So, I don't really think it's real, but it's
64:34certainly possible. It is. It's certainly more possible than the round 4 ADP versus round 12 ADP gave it credit for. And again, the the schematic stuff
64:43with with Coker's big, he's he's basically double the efficiency uh single high versus two high the last two years, 2.1 versus 1.3. Um, and so, but
64:55yeah, I mean, like, hey, this is a great pick. Like, even even if those splits that everyone loves to site aren't super
65:01valid.
65:02>> Yeah.
65:03>> You know, you know who could could I could see being dark purple in this draft range?
65:09>> Hold on. In the 12th round.
65:11>> Yeah.
65:13>> No, I'm not doing it. If If you say Jordan Tyson, I'm out. No.
65:17>> Jonah Coleman.
65:17>> Jonah Coleman. Okay. Thank God.
65:19>> Thank God.
65:21>> I can get I can get on board with that.
65:23All right. Well, that's that's it for that. Should we hit some some fun questions? I don't want to do a lot of
65:28them, but we can do a couple.
65:30>> Let's do it.
65:32>> Um, I want to talk about Jonathan Taylor.
65:36Rank the JT landing spots if traded.
65:39>> Oh boy.
65:41>> Let's talk about it. I have a team that stands out like a sore thumb to me.
65:46>> Don't say Lions.
65:47>> No, I'm not going to say the Lions. Why would I say the Lions? Is that that's where you want to keep putting uh James
65:53Connor and uh >> Connor makes sense there. They need a competent backup who doesn't need 500 touches. Yeah.
66:01>> What's the team?
66:02>> The New York Giants.
66:04>> Giants. No, we got Cam Scaboo, baby.
66:06Derry Sanders. Marshall Chalk.
66:10>> He was He was I just I just now got both those references for the first time.
66:15Dairy Sanders.
66:16>> Yeah.
66:17>> I thought you called him Barry Sanders the other day and I was like, what? And then Marshall chalk because you're just
66:22giving him the white guy thing.
66:24>> Yeah. Way to explain the joke that I'm sure 90% of our listeners got.
66:29>> Yeah. Sorry about that. I'm very tired.
66:31>> Watching too much Marvel. It's rotting your brain.
66:33>> True. That's probably true. Try having four kids.
66:36>> Marvel and Friends. That's the They should just make a streaming service that's just those two things.
66:44>> They should. That's actually a really good idea.
66:48that you know what they used to call that?
66:50>> What's that?
66:50>> Cable TV. Yeah. Okay.
66:52>> Cable TV. Yeah. It's where that's what we're getting back to.
66:56>> Anyways, JT landing spots. The Giants make a ton of sense. Cam Scaboo was benched a week ago. You know what I
67:02mean?
67:03>> I know that for my guy Cam who like that's that's Jackson Dart's BFF, >> bro. But you'd have Jonathan Taylor.
67:12>> Yeah. I want this team to be tanking.
67:14Like I am so pissed that they're winning games.
67:16>> Wow. You have two quarterbacks. That's more than most people have.
67:20>> That's more than the Jets have ever had.
67:22That's That's more >> great defense. You got a great defense.
67:24>> That's more than the Vikings have. Um, >> by the way, I love how we didn't talk about it. I love how just Brian Flores
67:31is just mogging Kevin Oonnell to oblivion. Like, if I were the owner on purpose, by the way, on purpose.
67:35>> If I were the owner, I might seriously just be like, "Hey, you're demoted, Kevin. Flores [snorts] is the new head
67:40coach because this defense is sick." And then you made us trade away JJ McCarthy, who looks awesome.
67:47And you promoted Tyrion Lannister to play a quarterback for us. [laughter] >> Yeah.
67:55>> Where do you want JT to go if not New York, >> brother? Um Vikings are a good one.
68:04I don't know that I want He's going to get good amazing game script. You can give him the ball like 28 times a game.
68:11>> Uh >> in Minnesota, >> the Texans don't have the wins. The Eagles don't have the wins. They're they're going the opposite direction.
68:21Packers, I could see them wanting to and then just be done with the Josh situation.
68:26>> I don't think Jacobs has any guaranteed money left on his contract.
68:29>> Sneaky one. I got a really sneaky one.
68:31>> Okay. I love sneaky ones.
68:33>> Bengals.
68:34>> Ooh, baby. That would slap. Cory Dylan 2.0.
68:39>> Yo, [laughter] uh, Browns given their record and Judkins streak. I thought about Browns.
68:47Well, Judkins ended the streak, Scott.
68:49>> Yeah, I know.
68:49>> Which is kind of sad. That was a fun bit.
68:52>> Honestly, >> we can still say it. We can say like 15 of his last 16 games.
68:58>> True. [snorts] We could hold on to it for dear life. Um, >> all right. I feel like there's an obvious one we're just missing. Oh,
69:08Jacksonville.
69:09>> I know. I was thinking it, too. That would crush Ryan Heath's soul. So hopefully not.
69:15>> They're in the same division. That probably won't happen. Motion man, did you have one?
69:18>> I got a sneaky one, but I don't think the contract situation works out. But could the Cowboys just send Javvante
69:24Williams to the Colts for I don't know that the Colts would want that contract, but >> like a straight swap. Just just bring
69:30him in. JT seems like a Jerry Jones guy.
69:33Like he'd be pushing for it. I don't know. But yeah, >> Javvant is coming off 155 yards and a touchdown on Sunday or Monday night
69:40football. So maybe not. But I kind of like >> they want Javvante, but >> they take the picks.
69:45>> They don't want Jaante. Jaante >> if he was French. Jaante.
69:52>> All right. Why don't you ask me this question?
69:56>> I'm currently the number one seed. What defense should I add?
69:59>> Not that one. Don't skip that. Skip that one.
70:01>> I know. I want to do that one.
70:02>> Okay.
70:03>> Yeah. Could we uh show this on the screen? The uh fantasy points front office tool strength of schedule. Uh and
70:11so this is this is really what I would be doing to answer this question.
70:15>> You just go in, you just select position defense, you click on fantasy playoffs instead of rest of season, but you can
70:25also click on rest of season. That's what I use sometimes for the buy low episode. Um, and listen, like I think
70:32it's a little too early for you to be all that worried about a, you know, a defense to add in the playoffs. That's
70:38more of like a week 13 thing. But, uh, looks like the Lions, uh, which is really interesting, Brett, because they look like one of the worst defenses in
70:47football. Then they had this lights out game against Arizona. They played great last week, and they get Kyler Murray. Well, actually, well, that's the thing is, you
70:57know, they don't get Jamus TBD on on how favorable that matchup is. And the Bears, you know, that's cued by Tyson
71:07Bean, so maybe not the best matchup.
71:10>> Well, the Bears have or the Lions have owned the Bears >> since Caleb Williams has been there. The Lions have won like five straight
71:18against >> But this is a different Caleb Williams.
71:20This is Caleb Williams is now the most accurate quarterback in football by catchable target rate. The bet we made was, >> you know, you know, catchable throw is
71:27not an an accuracy metric.
71:29>> Yes, it is. When it's adjusted for depth of target, it absolutely is, >> right? Okay.
71:34>> Which it is.
71:35>> I don't know if you saw my tweet, but I I broke it down by depth >> area of the field. So, the bet we made,
71:41folks at home, >> we could take this off the screen.
71:44Listen, this is what you would do. It's too early to to care about a fantasy playoff defense. I'm going to segue us
71:50into a very recent tweet that I had about one Caleb Williams.
71:56And I need to remind Brett of a little bet he made. The bet was if Caleb Williams finishes top half of the league
72:05by catchable throw rate, he has to wear a Caleb Williams jersey on the show every single day for a full month.
72:14Company's going to pay for the jersey.
72:15>> It was not It was not a full month. It was a week. It was a week worth of shows.
72:21>> You were just constantly >> not constantly anything. You keep trying to change the the bet. I've been consistent with it.
72:27>> You you said >> you keep adding stupid things like and paint your nails. It's like no, I'm not painting my nails. You have to paint
72:32your nails.
72:32>> No, I'm not doing it for a full month.
72:34I'd get tired and old fast, a full week.
72:37We're in week seven. Everyone chill.
72:40Okay, >> but here's here's the funny thing about it >> is we said half
72:46>> if he's above average 16 out of 32. Um because over the previous two years, if you scroll down to the the tweet and
72:56replies over the previous two years, he was 39th of 40 quarterbacks in catchable throw rate. Only Cam Ward was worse. And
73:04now he's best in the league. And this followed up a 2024 season where he ranked second worst in pressure to sack.
73:12Only Will Levis was worse. And since then, he's been top six. And so, what does this say to me is like these are
73:19two stats that are very sticky. You almost never see a big increase.
73:25Certainly not an increase from like worst to first.
73:28>> And what this tells me is like, yeah, dude, this guy is a small sample for sure. this guy is special to because
73:35like he yeah he made a big jump and guess what players improve all the time.
73:38JSN didn't look special as a rookie at least not by the the stats even as a sophomore and then Caleb Williams two
73:46major holes to his game turn from core weaknesses to core strengths. Is this a top three quarterback moving forward? Is this
73:54>> in fantasy Patrick Mahomes in real life?
73:57>> Top I'll give you top 10. Nowhere close to top three. Well, even top 10 is a major coup, so I'll take that from you.
74:05>> Yeah, he's he's top 10. If I did my updated quarterback rankings today, he would be top 10. He'd be top eight,
74:13probably, actually.
74:16So, maybe I should do that article.
74:17Maybe I should put that out.
74:18>> Yeah. So, so what changed to you? Is he just like just playing flat out better?
74:22>> Yeah, he's playing better.
74:23>> Seeing the field better?
74:25>> Yeah. Running the offense. I think that's that's a big component for me.
74:30Okay. Uh, shout out to Bears fans. You know, we were very skeptical and you were so confident. Guess what? You You
74:38were right. [snorts] We were wrong.
74:42>> Wrong about what? Wrong about what? No one's wrong about anything yet.
74:45>> Our skepticism of Caleb Williams coming into the year that the accuracy couldn't improve.
74:49>> He's played four and a half games.
74:52>> He's played great in those four and a half games.
74:54>> Yeah, he has. But it's been four and a half games.
74:57Do you allow me to victory lap after four and a half games of anything?
75:00>> I mean, you're already sliding him into your top 10.
75:03>> He was fringe already.
75:07I'm probably moving him four spots realistically.
75:10>> If you already had him fringe top 10, then why did you say you hated him on every single episode we did?
75:18>> This is what I hate about the narrative streak. I never once said that. So, I know I'm just messing with you.
75:23>> I know. All right, let's move on.
75:26Do you have anything else you want to get to or do you want to get out of here? What's the deal?
75:31>> Uh, another question we had is Brett, what is a sacrificial X? Is this a real thing? Is this why Michael Wilson is
75:40struggling because Marvin Harrison Jr.
75:43as the sacrificial X is no longer there?
75:47>> It's a great question.
75:50Um, the thing is is like Michael Wilson was playing X when Michael when Marvin Harrison Jr. was there, he was playing
75:59X. So, I would say no. This isn't a a Michael Wilson question, but I do like the topic of sacrificial X because I
76:07think this term gets thrown around way too much.
76:11Like, every X receiver is like a sacrificial X that just runs go routes and clear routes all day long. That's not really true except for one player.
76:21>> Who's that?
76:22>> Roma Dun.
76:24>> It's 100% of sacrificial X.
76:26>> Why?
76:27>> Well, he's running 65% of his routes from the X alignment and his targets per route run is less than 20%. His average
76:35depth of route run is well over 10.
76:37Yeah, he's a sacrificial X. He's running clear outs for Coulson, Lovelin, Khif, Raymond, and Luther Burton.
76:44>> Wow. and and sometimes it manifests into production, right? But like >> is that helping Luther Burton and Coulson Loveland and Caleb?
76:50>> Yeah, he's a very good downfield receiver. No doubt.
76:53>> I'd like to see him get more targets.
76:55Sorry.
76:55>> Jame Williams isn't a Will Fuller style sacrificial X.
77:01>> He's close um because he's like 66% X receiver and but his targets per out run is like 20%. That's usually the cut off
77:09for me.
77:11So there's a like if you were to just look at like guys who play most of their snaps at X and have a a targets per
77:17route run under 20%. You're looking at like Roma Dun, Laquan Treadwell, which is funny.
77:23>> Romeo Dos um that might be it. Denzel Boston actually is right is fringey.
77:31>> He's fringy. I think his his target run might actually be 20%. I'm not looking at it right this second, but um
77:39yeah, that's uh so yeah, those those are the names I'd invoke as sacrificial X's, but JO's close. He needs he needs to
77:46keep getting targets or else he's going to be on the sacrificial X list for sure.
77:50>> But Roma Dunce is by far and Laquan Treadwell, he just sucks. So it's like it doesn't really count. But Rome is
77:57definitely the the preeeminent sacrificial X right now. He's the new BTJ from last year.
78:03>> Do you do you This has been a big talking point is that trading away Marvin Harrison Jr. is actually bad for
78:08Michael Wilson. Do you think that's the case?
78:10>> No, you already asked me that. I said no.
78:12>> Michael Wilson was playing X.
78:15>> Yeah, exactly. Yeah, I'm I'm with you on >> Yeah.
78:17>> Okay.
78:19>> Uh but best ways to optimize for the playoff as a front runner. This will be the last one that we're going to we're going to
78:26go.
78:26>> Yeah. Well, I think we already kind of hit on it is is making those two for one trades is trading away depth pieces to upgrade
78:35your starting lineup. That's that's really what you want. You want the best juggernaut to kind of just sweep through the fantasy playoffs. Um, but I think
78:42things change a little bit too depending on the league structure. Like if it's a 12 team league where six teams make the
78:51playoffs and there's no buys, then yeah, you really just want the best starting lineup. If you're a 12 team league where
78:59four teams make the playoffs and there's a buy, then you really just want the best record. Um, I mean, you want both,
79:05but having the best record come playoff time and the right seating matters a little bit more. You know, cobbling together these short-term wins matters a
79:13lot. Um, but but yeah, I think I think for most it's really just I wouldn't I wouldn't overrate, you know, fantasy playoff
79:23strength of schedule too much. I love it for Parker Washington. That's awesome.
79:27But that's really just a cherry on top.
79:29I would really only treat stuff like that as a cherry on top. Um, and yeah, it's more so just just moving
79:36doing those two for ones we always like and talk about.
79:40>> Awesome.
79:41>> Yeah.
