Aaron Rodgers

PositiveMatchup21:00

Rodgers has been very good when kept clean this year, especially if you remove drops that have plagued the Colts; the Colts defense is 30th in pressure rate, which is huge because Rodgers still struggles when facing pressure, particularly quick pressures, but the Steelers' defense may not generate enough pressure to disrupt him.

Insight page
PositiveMatchup40:40

Rodgers has been very good when kept clean this year, especially if you remove the drops that have plagued the Packers; the Colts defense is 30th in pressure rate, allowing the Packers to go heavy personnel and pick apart the middle of the field in a favorable matchup.

Insight page

Alec Pierce

NegativeRole40:10

Alec Pierce is unavailable for the Colts' matchup against the Steelers, limiting Daniel Jones' ability to attack the Steelers secondary with explosive passing plays.

Insight page

Austin Ekeler

PositiveUsage47:01

Ekeler had success last week and is expected to see increased usage in the Commanders' run game this week; with White potentially returning and improved offensive line health (Cosby back), the Commanders' run game should have a much better shot against the Giants in what could be horrible weather conditions.

Insight page

Baker Mayfield

NegativeInjury8:18

Mayfield is hurt and will not start for Tampa Bay in Week 5 against Dallas; Jalen Daniels will get the start instead.

Insight page

Ben Roethlisberger

PositiveRole88:42

Brissette is a solid quarterback who should be able to generate points almost every drive against the Detroit Lions' horrendous defense; the Lions' defense can't stop anything and is bottom-tier in performance.

Insight page

Bijan Robinson

PositiveMatchup27:36

Robinson had a nightmare matchup last week against the Vikings' defense, but the Saints have the worst run defense in the NFL this year, making them vulnerable to elite running backs. This represents a favorable setup for Robinson in a potential future matchup.

Insight page

Brayden Willis

NegativeRole44:24

Willis will assume McCaffrey's role in the 49ers offense but is not an adequate replacement; he cannot replicate McCaffrey's versatility and importance to everything San Francisco does offensively, making the 49ers' scheme significantly less effective.

Insight page

Breece Hall

NegativeInjury32:51

Hall is not expected to play against the Browns; he's week-to-week with an injury, which impacts the Jets' offensive depth and running game.

Insight page

Brian Robinson

NegativeUsage47:01

Robinson has been dreadful this season, averaging under 3 yards per carry, and is expected to see reduced usage as the Commanders lean more on Ekeler in the run game against the Giants.

Insight page

Brock Purdy

NegativeProjection41:33

Purdy will face significant challenges against Seattle's defense despite his evolution from game-manager label; the loss of Christian McCaffrey to a left knee injury (out 2-3 weeks) and injuries to Mike Evans and other pass-catchers severely limits his offensive weapons and playmaking options.

Insight page

C.J. Stroud

PositiveProjection15:24

Stroud has been statistically sneaky good this season despite the Texans' 0-4 record; his performance supports the narrative that Houston has been competitive in games and should be favored against Tennessee.

Insight page

Caleb Williams

NegativeProjection32:30

Carly Lloyd expresses concern that Caleb Williams, as a backup quarterback, should not be favored at Green Bay; the Bears are a 2.5-point road favorite despite Williams being a backup, which Lloyd views as too much market adjustment. Additionally, Williams has been turnover-prone; even the Jets got a pick against him, and there were a couple of penalties that took away other interceptions.

Insight page

Cam Ward

NegativeProjection17:00

Ward is likely to make mistakes in Week 5 against Houston; the Titans' offense is not competitive against the Texans, and Ward's turnover-prone play will not help Tennessee's terrible defense and overall struggling team.

Insight page

CeeDee Lamb

PositiveMatchup10:00

Lamb faces Tampa Bay corners that are too small to match up with him; the Bucs' pass-funnel defense and lack of pressure without blitzing creates a favorable matchup for the Cowboys' receiving corps against a secondary that cannot cover these receivers.

Insight page

Christian McCaffrey

NegativeInjury41:59

McCaffrey suffered a left knee injury and is expected to be out 2-3 weeks; this is described as a huge injury that significantly impacts San Francisco's offensive scheme and run game, forcing the 49ers to rely on backup Braden Willis who cannot replicate McCaffrey's role and versatility.

Insight page

Cole Kmet

NegativeRole33:39

Mononga is characterized as much better than Swift, suggesting Mononga may see increased role or opportunity in the Bears offense relative to Swift.

Insight page

D.J. Moore

NegativeInjury67:02

Moore might not play against the Rams, which would condense the Bills offense and reduce their offensive options; his absence would further limit Josh Allen's ability to move the ball against a strong Rams defense.

Insight page

D'Andre Swift

NegativeRole33:39

Swift did not practice and is expected to be limited or unavailable; Mononga is characterized as much better than Swift and is also dealing with injury concerns. Three-fifths of the Bears' offensive line also did not practice, creating additional offensive line depth concerns.

Insight page

Daniel Jones

NegativeProjection40:10

Daniel Jones is struggling significantly this season: 1-for-6 on deep passes with an interception, lowest air yards in the league (excluding Klooper Rush), ADOT dropped from 8.6 last year to 6.2 this year, and worst quarterback in the league under pressure (21 of 44, 198 yards, one big time throw, six turnovers); he doesn't look right and faces a Steelers defense at home that will likely generate pressure.

Insight page

Davante Adams

PositiveRole60:10

Adams and the Raiders' tight ends have been giving opposing defenses fits in the Kubiak scheme; the Raiders' offense has been highly effective with improved pass protection and play-action heavy approach.

Insight page

Derek Carr

NegativeMatchup26:06

Carr has been fine versus pressure but by PFF metrics has been pretty good versus the blitz at 72% for touchdowns and a pick; this is cited as a decent start for New Orleans' offensive outlook against Minnesota's defense.

Insight page
NegativeMatchup30:00

Carr has looked the part for the Saints and faces a Vikings defense that, while strong under Flores, may be slightly overrated at peak market value. The Saints' offense, led by Carr, can do just enough to win against Minnesota's struggling run game and defensive vulnerabilities.

Insight page

Derrick Henry

NegativeMatchup11:00

Henry had nice short yardage situations against the Ravens in Week 4, suggesting the Cowboys defense can be vulnerable in specific situations despite overall defensive struggles.

Insight page
PositiveMatchup72:07

Henry represents a much stiffer test for the Falcons' run defense compared to recent opponents; while Atlanta's defensive metrics look good, they've faced weak run offenses (Packers and Saints) with injured offensive lines. Henry is a significant step up in difficulty.

Insight page

Deshaun Watson

NegativeRole68:44

Watson has played a little better recently but is still characterized as relying heavily on dink-and-dunk passing; the Browns can't run the ball effectively, which has been the Jets' biggest weakness defensively, making the Browns' offense limited.

Insight page

Drake Maye

PositiveProjection62:00

May is 14-0 as a favorite of 3-plus, and his performance last week against Buffalo has improved market perception of him; he's shown he can carry momentum forward mentally after getting a win and playing well, though he's still struggled against elite defenses early in the season.

Insight page

Geno Smith

PositiveMatchup41:33

Smith and the Seahawks offense will have success against San Francisco's depleted defense; the 49ers' injuries to McCaffrey, Evans, and other pass-catchers, combined with Seattle's home-field advantage, create a favorable matchup where Smith won't face much pressure and can rely on JSN to move the ball effectively.

Insight page
NegativeProjection70:02

Smith is historically much better against man coverage but is the worst starting quarterback in the Super Bowl era when playing as a favorite (minimum 25 starts); this is a significant concern for the Jets as favorites against the Browns.

Insight page

George Pickens

PositiveMatchup10:00

Pickens faces Tampa Bay corners that are too small to match up with him; the Bucs' pass-funnel defense and lack of pressure without blitzing creates a favorable matchup for the Cowboys' receiving corps against a secondary that cannot cover these receivers.

Insight page

Ja'Marr Chase

NegativeInjury58:03

Chase is dealing with a concussion and has approximately a 30% chance of playing against Miami; his absence would significantly impact Joe Burrow's ability to move the ball, as Burrow has never played without both Chase and Higgins in the lineup.

Insight page

Jalon Daniels

NegativeProjection9:00

Daniels will make mistakes as a rookie, likely throwing multiple interceptions; making his first road start in primetime in a hostile environment on a short week after traveling from Brazil, he is expected to waste possessions against the Cowboys offense, which will convert those turnovers into points.

Insight page

Jameis Winston

NegativeMatchup46:54

Winston is helpless against the blitz and has been terrible in those situations this year, averaging just 3.8 yards per attempt against the blitz; Washington's defense is Minnesota-like under Flores disciple coordinator, ranking second-highest in blitzing frequency, which will create major problems for Winston and the Giants offense.

Insight page

Jaxon Smith-Njigba

PositiveUsage41:33

JSN will be a focal point of Seattle's offense at home against San Francisco's injury-depleted secondary; he is expected to get his targets and production, contributing significantly to the Seahawks' offensive success in this matchup.

Insight page

Jayden Daniels

NegativeInjury47:01

Daniels is returning from a trip overseas with a brace on his knee after coming back from London; there are questions about how the brace will affect his play style, mobility, and willingness to run, as Quinn has emphasized working on him going down and avoiding contact rather than extending plays with his legs.

Insight page

Joe Burrow

NegativeProjection58:03

Burrow has never played without both Higgins and Chase in the lineup; if either or both are unavailable against Miami, his ability to move the ball and generate offense is severely compromised, making the Bengals' passing game much less effective despite good pass protection.

Insight page

Jordan Addison

NegativeInjury27:33

Addison is listed as in doubt with a groin issue heading into Week 5, compounding Minnesota's offensive injury woes alongside Justin Jefferson's status.

Insight page

Jordan Love

NegativeMatchup32:59

Love has been very good historically against man coverage and the blitz; the Bears play a lot of man under Dennis Allen and blitz frequently to generate pressure. In five games started and finished against the Bears defense, Love posted a 66% completion rate, 1,400 yards, 13 touchdowns, 2 interceptions, only 5 sacks, and a 4-1 record (the only loss was a wild card game last year when the Bears scored 24 points in the fourth quarter). This is characterized as a buy-low, sell-high spot and a good matchup for Love.

Insight page

Jordan Mason

NegativeRole29:15

Mason is missing from the Vikings' running game in Week 5, further weakening Minnesota's already weak rushing attack (26th in rush success rate) and forcing the offense to rely more heavily on passing.

Insight page

Josh Allen

NegativeInjury66:49

Allen does not look 100% healthy heading into Monday night against the Rams; his reduced mobility due to injury could significantly impact the Bills offense, as his ability to scramble at will is a key component. This health concern is a factor in the Rams being undervalued.

Insight page

Justin Herbert

NegativeRole87:39

Herbert's status for the Chargers against Denver is uncertain; there are questions about whether he'll play given the team's offensive line injuries and overall roster uncertainty heading into the game.

Insight page

Justin Jefferson

NegativeInjury27:33

Jefferson is listed as still in doubt heading into Week 5 against New Orleans, adding to Minnesota's offensive injury concerns alongside Jordan Addison's groin issue.

Insight page
NegativeInjury28:00

Jefferson is expected to miss Week 5 against the Saints due to injury. His absence, combined with left tackle Darisaw also likely out, leaves the Vikings without both bookends of their offensive line, further compromising an already struggling passing game.

Insight page

Kirk Cousins

NegativeRole28:00

Cousins' offense is described as 'broken' even at full strength; the Vikings rank 26th in rush success rate and are missing multiple offensive linemen (Jefferson, Darisaw, O'Neal dealing with injury, Addison uncertain). The passing game lacks comfort and explosiveness, forcing Cousins to operate in a constrained system against a strong Saints defense.

Insight page
PositiveProjection60:10

Cousins is playing exceptionally well in the Raiders' Kubiak scheme, which has looked worlds better than last year; the offense is functioning at a high level with improved pass protection and tight end play that has given opposing defenses fits.

Insight page
PositiveRole62:28

Cousins is playing so well in the Kubiak scheme; the offense has looked worlds better than last year with improved offensive line play and strong pass-blocking. The tight ends have given opposing teams fits, and the overall scheme execution has been significantly elevated.

Insight page

Kyler Murray

NegativeRole28:00

Murray has not been good in the Vikings offense and is still not comfortable, contributing to the overall dysfunction of Minnesota's passing attack heading into Week 5.

Insight page

Lamar Jackson

NegativeInjury70:37

Jackson is unlikely to play against Atlanta; the market doesn't expect him to play, and his absence forces the Ravens to start Tyler Huntley in a new offensive scheme, creating significant uncertainty.

Insight page

Matthew Stafford

NegativeRole68:24

Stafford has shown his age at times this season, though Aaron Donald's potential return to practice this week could help the Rams' pass rush. Stafford will face a weak Bills defense but has had inconsistent performances in recent weeks.

Insight page

Mike Evans

NegativeInjury44:24

Evans is not healthy and dealing with multiple injuries; he was not getting separation last week, limiting his effectiveness as a deep threat in Shanahan's offense against Seattle.

Insight page

Mike Gesicki

PositiveUsage58:03

Gesicki could have a big game against the Bengals if Higgins and Chase are out; last week, TJ Hawkinson had 13 catches on 13 targets for Miami, suggesting that when top receivers are unavailable, tight ends see significant target volume and opportunity.

Insight page

Nico Collins

PositiveRole15:24

Collins' return to the field transforms the Texans offense into a different beast; the offense looked much better with him back, and his presence is critical for Houston's Week 5 matchup against Tennessee, as the Texans were 0-4 without him and played well against strong teams.

Insight page
NegativeInjury40:18

The Colts defense got a break when the Texans did not have Nico Collins available, indicating the receiver's absence was a factor in the Colts' defensive performance.

Insight page

Puka Nacua

PositiveRole68:24

Nacua is back healthy for the Rams against Buffalo; his return should enable the Rams to see their best offensive version with Stafford, as the Bills defense is atrocious and the Rams should be able to run and pass at will.

Insight page

Quentin Johnston

NegativeMatchup28:15

Shuck (likely referring to Derek Carr or Saints QB) has been decent against the blitz and needs to hit a couple of explosive plays against the Vikings' strong defense under Flores, who can bring pressure from everywhere. The Saints don't need to score many points against a Vikings team that has won two games without scoring a touchdown.

Insight page

Saquon Barkley

NegativeUsage46:21

Barkley's effectiveness has been severely limited since Dexter Lawrence went down; the Giants' run game was heavily dependent on Lawrence's running ability, which opened up opportunities for Barkley, but now defenses can key in on Barkley and shut down the run game entirely, resulting in a 29% rush success rate (dead last in NFL) since Lawrence's injury.

Insight page

Stefon Diggs

NegativeInjury47:01

Diggs popped up on the Commanders' injury report and was not at practice, requiring monitoring before the Giants game; his status is uncertain heading into the matchup.

Insight page

Tee Higgins

NegativeInjury58:03

Higgins was limited in practice and his status is uncertain for the Bengals-Dolphins game; his availability is critical because Burrow has never played without both Higgins and Chase, and the Bengals' passing game heavily depends on having at least one of them available.

Insight page

Terry McLaurin

NegativeInjury40:06

Terry McLaurin was unavailable when the Commanders played the Colts, and the Commanders were also down to their third-string quarterback, yet still outgained the Colts 5.2 to 3.9 yards per play, indicating the Colts defense has significant vulnerabilities.

Insight page
NegativeInjury47:01

McLaurin's status for the Giants game is uncertain and needs to be monitored on the Commanders' injury report; his availability could impact the Commanders' passing game against New York.

Insight page

Tyler Huntley

NegativeRole70:58

Huntley is expected to start for the Ravens against Atlanta with Lamar Jackson likely out; however, he's in a new offense and may not have fully grasped the system yet, creating uncertainty in market pricing and offensive efficiency.

Insight page

Zay Flowers

NegativeInjury40:03

Zay Flowers left the opener and the Ravens were about to get run off the field in that game, indicating early-season injury concerns for the receiver.

2:57Welcome to the Action Network Podcast presented by DraftKings.
3:00This is the week five NFL betting preview. I'm Stucky joining me.
3:03As always, my main man, Doug Kazarian and the one not pictured, but always valuable.
3:08Stats out, Evan Abrams will be chiming in throughout the show with his favorite bet and some valuable trends.
3:14We'll build our six pack, which will be our five contest picks plus Evan's favorite bet.
3:20And we will go through every single game as usual.
3:23Last week, it was a two and four week, so not quite our six and oh.
3:28That was on me. Doug, I mean, I'm looking back at what you gave out for the show.
3:34You liked Washington, Jacksonville. Your money line, which you're now four and oh on, was Jags.
3:39His totals were Miami first half team total under, Miami, Minnesota under, Arizona Giants over.
3:44So you did a great job. The Washington one.
3:47What are you going to do? McLaurin gets hurt.
3:49And then you're down to the Greek water pistol over in London.
3:53And then Evan, I thought your best bet, the Broncos plus three, you got pretty unlucky.
3:58The 49ers couldn't do anything. And then the Broncos lose both their corners and then Kittle scores at the end to ruin the plus three.
4:06Also ruined my teaser. But my four sides that I liked last week, the Bucs lucky to get a cover there, even though it closed good.
4:15I mean, the Packers turned it over at the one and then threw a pick in the red zone.
4:21The Dolphins easily could have lost. Lost. Thank you to TJ Hockinson for going down at the two.
4:27And then I had the Jets who got absolutely annihilated.
4:30I knew, I kind of knew I was in trouble with all the injuries that the Jets had.
4:36And I also had, who else did I have?
4:39Oh, the Texans. I mean, how many Texans, what, outgained the Cowboys by two and a half yards per play.
4:45Out net success rate them, but Dak was too good.
4:48The Niko was great, but Cowboys come down and score in the last minute and get the job done.
4:54Second time this year, the last minute drive has cost me a short number against the Texans who fall to 0-4.
5:01But last week, I mentioned some of the injuries.
5:04Last week was all about injuries. There are so many injuries across the league.
5:08It's insane to try and keep track and monitor.
5:11And, I mean, it's almost easier for me to monitor and keep track of the college injuries.
5:17And there's four times more teams. And then it was a ref show across the league.
5:22Most penalties on a Sunday we've seen this century.
5:25Refs getting suspended. The Chargers-Seahawks game had 280 penalty yards.
5:28Just insane. So hopefully we see some fewer flags this week after a pushback on social media.
5:34You've been tweeting great about that. I was wondering, do you think the league will kind of, like, pull back a little bit?
5:41Is there a betting angle? What, maybe totals? Is there a betting angle we think the refs are going to swallow the whistle?
5:48Yeah, you might have. There's been a lot of, like, high...
5:52There's been a lot of touchdowns called back and defensive holding and, like, ticky-tack defensive calls.
5:57So in games where you like... Might wash itself out.
6:00Yeah, but, like, games you like the offensive matchups.
6:03This week, you might get some... You might get some reprieve in terms of swallowing the whistle on those...
6:09The... Yeah, I mean, like... Here's the thing. So if you're not calling third down...
6:14Yeah, I guess I could see it playing both ways.
6:17Like, if they're going to swallow the whistle on some holds, but if they're also going to swallow some whistles on, like,
6:24defensive holdings, third down, illegal contact, to not extend drives.
6:28So, yeah, it could break both ways. I think...
6:30It's going to depend on the matchup. Yeah, I was wondering if there's a way to, like, evaluate Thursday and then maybe
6:37the early games and then apply it to the late games if we see a trend.
6:43I don't know. I always try to think of the betting angle on this stuff, and I haven't really come up with one.
6:50That's why I asked you. Yeah. Yeah, no, it's tough to say.
6:54But it's definitely something I'm going to be monitoring.
6:57Like, last week was just... It was almost... It was unwatchable, just with all the flags.
7:02Like, it just... Every time there was a play, I'm like, all right, is there going to be a flag?
7:08Like, it was just starting to get programmed into my head.
7:12And some teams were hurt much more than others.
7:15But we will wash away week four. We are on to week five.
7:19We'll get to our best bets in just a moment.
7:22But we will start with Thursday Night Football. Dallas Cowboys, eight and a half point home favorites over the Tampa Bay Bucs.
7:29Thursday Night Football! Evan, I got to ask you on two trends here.
7:33Put you on the spot. I don't know what the official close on the Bucs was.
7:39But it was either two and a half or three.
7:42So we're now 13 straight games without a cover, which is an NFL record.
7:46And I believe the Cowboys have gone over in 10 straight games.
7:50Can you confirm those? Do you have anything on this game?
7:54Amazing so far, Stuck. You could do my job.
7:57Yeah, those are both correct. Dallas has gone over in 10 straight.
8:00Longest streak since, of course, Dallas. Dallas, they own the record.
8:04I believe it's 12 straight back in 2010. So that's on the line, I guess, on Thursday night, 47 and a half.
8:11But yes, both are correct. The craziest one to me is the Bowles one.
8:15Because when you look at just head coaches, this is like almost never happened.
8:20Like head coaches get to 10 and every one of them had covered after.
8:24And so Bowles is now in his own planet.
8:27Another stratosphere for the guy. Yep, it's been quite a streak.
8:31Jalen Daniels will get the start again for Tampa Bay with Baker Mayfield hurt.
8:35The Bucs took some sharp money on open at 10.
8:39I guess the thinking is, look, this Cowboys defense is really bad and they shouldn't and can't be laying 10 against the Bucs.
8:46Because, you know, if you were betting Dallas minus 10, even at minus 8.5, there's a good chance you might have to
8:53sweat like a back door or something along those lines.
8:56Because you have the Bucs who are, I believe, dead last in EPA per drop back versus the Cowboys who are dead
9:03last in EPA per drop back on defense. No Antoine Winfield.
9:07Looks like the Cowboys will get Tyler Smith back.
9:10That'll help the offensive line. For me, Cowboys look like, I went and priced this with the, it's still hard to like exactly price Jalen Daniels.
9:18He played how I thought he would play last week, like athletic, made some decent plays.
9:23But he's going to throw picks. He's going to make mistakes not reading defenses.
9:28And he made three of them last week. That's probably going to happen here.
9:32And I just don't know if the Bucs can afford to throw away possessions against this Dallas offense, which is just a machine right now.
9:40I mean, Bowles is going to blitz. That's not good against Dak.
9:44They play a ton of single high. That's not good against Dak.
9:48And these corners are just too small to match up with CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens.
9:53Like, I just don't know how this Bucs defense, which isn't getting pressure without blitzing, and you don't want to blitz Dak.
10:00I don't know how they're going to get stops.
10:03I don't know how they cover these receivers. So, you know, I've heard from some folks that like the Cowboys' team total over.
10:11I think the Cowboys are a good teaser piece, good money line parlay piece.
10:15I actually make it right around nine. It's still hard to price Jalen Daniels exactly.
10:20But the Bucs are a pass-funnel defense, and that is not good news for these corners against this Dallas offense.
10:26Doug, you have anything here? Yeah, I really like the Cowboys.
10:30It's not one of my top two, but it's because I respect the market.
10:34The fact that the market took some Bucs money, I just have to respect it.
10:39But I don't get it. Just what you said, they're going to punt.
10:43And I'm even shocked the Bucs don't have nines from a teaser protection standpoint.
10:48Agreed. And like I said, I think the look ahead was 10.5 or something.
10:52I was like, all right, that makes sense. You know, it could be a big game.
10:57I don't – please correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the Cowboys defense is as bad as we –
11:05it kind of reminds me of the Phoenix Suns in the 05 era.
11:09It was like the seven seconds or less where they actually gave up the most points per game in the year, but
11:16they were like 17th, 18th in terms of efficiency.
11:19Is Dallas' defense like the – I mean, isn't it like around 20th?
11:23I don't know. I thought they had some nice short yardage situations against the Ravens with Derrick Henry.
11:29I thought they obviously shut down Washington in the second half, but that was Mariota replacing Jaden Daniels.
11:34I mean, they caused some fumbles against the Giants in week one, but it was some fumble luck that went – you know, Scadabo recovered it.
11:43I just think it's good enough, I guess is my point, to cover this kind of a number.
11:49Yeah, and Daniels is going to make mistakes. Like, that's just going to happen as a rookie.
11:54He's going to throw a couple picks, and like, you turn – you waste two possessions against this Cowboys offense.
12:00They're going to turn around and turn it into points, and then all of a sudden, you know, you're down 14.
12:07And the Cowboys defense, yeah, I mean, look, brand new scheme, first-time coordinator.
12:11You can expect it to continue to improve as well as the season goes on and these guys get used to the new scheme.
12:19You also added Joey Porter, who helps in the secondary.
12:22Yeah. And they also haven't caught any breaks, right?
12:25Like, they faced Giants week one where the Giants had that brand new looking offense, right, that they just didn't know.
12:32And they got the Giants at full strength. They're the only team this year that will play the Giants offense at full strength.
12:39They played the Ravens at full strength. They played the Texans with Nico Collins.
12:44So, yeah, it hasn't been an easy schedule to start.
12:47The defense has been really bad, but I think it will start to improve.
12:52So, this is a tough travels. I mean, they're not traveling, but this is a tough spot.
12:57They went on the road after going to Brazil and then short week.
13:01Yeah. It's ridiculous they were on the road after Brazil.
13:04Yeah. So, maybe they're just like, there's like a lack of focus here or there, but I could not play the Bucs.
13:11So, I would agree with you. It's either Cowboys or nothing.
13:15Cowboys teaser piece. I am surprised as well that they're not shading this to nine-ish.
13:20But, so, there must be some – from people I talked to, there is some – there was some respected money on the Bucs.
13:27But you got to remember now, the line's eight and a half.
13:31It was ten. So, yeah. I just don't see the Bucs getting many stops.
13:36And the Bucs with a rookie quarterback making his first road start in primetime hostile environment short week.
13:42There's going to be some mistakes. All right. Before we get to our best bets, first, a word about the king of sports books, DraftKings.

14:21DraftKings, the crown is yours. All right. Let's get to our best bets.
14:25It's another fabulous weekend. Let's check out the marquee matchups we'll all end up betting for week five.
14:31All right, Doug, for your first pick, you're venturing into a territory that has not ended well for me a couple times this year.
14:39Be rolling with. It's the Houston Texans who've burned you a couple times late, but I just think the spot is just way too favorable.
14:47They've obviously taken early money. We're above seven to seven and a half, but I don't think it's going to be the worst of the number.
14:55I think we're getting to eight, eight and a half.
14:58It was announced today. D'Amico Ryans is going to be calling defensive plays for that unit.
15:03And it's just season on the line for the Texans.
15:06And if you look at it in a deeper dive on things, you know, you've taken them.
15:12I've taken them. They've actually played some pretty good teams when you sort of break down who they've played.
15:18So this could be a spot where you just kind of get right and beat up on a bad team.
15:24I mean, they've played the Bills, Cowboys, Colts, and Bengals.
15:28I mean, those could be four playoff teams, right?
15:31Yeah. So, and the offense looked much better with D'Amico Collins back.
15:34Stroud's actually been okay statistically, been sneaky good. So I think it's just, look, I know it's a really sharp group that
15:41bet minus six and a half, and you don't want to be just chasing, but it is a spot where they just kind of get right.
15:50And there's nothing really redeeming on the Titans. They covered last week because Lamar got hurt at halftime.
15:56Yeah, they were about to lose by 28 in that game.
15:59I mentioned the under last week. That was pretty lucky just because Lamar got hurt.
16:04So, yeah, I mean, look, the Texans, they're 0-4.
16:07They should, their, I think, projected wins are about two and a half.
16:11So they easily could be 3-1 on the season.
16:14They were in every game. They had a dropped interception against the Bills to win the game.
16:19Also, a fumble that was on the ground that they didn't recover that would have won the game.
16:25They outplayed the Bengals, even though they lost 20-6.
16:28They lose on the last second field goal to the Colts.
16:32And by the way, they didn't have Nico Collins for those games.
16:35Offense is a different beast with him on the field.
16:39And then against the Cowboys, lose a coin flip game last week in the final seconds, even though, I mean, yards per,
16:46if you look at yards per play, 7.6 to 5.5.
16:49If you look at net success rate, I mean, teams usually win 80% to 90% of those games.
16:55This Titans offense is not those offenses we just mentioned.
16:58And I just don't, like, the linebacker injuries for the Texans are real.
17:02Maybe the Titans can have some success running the ball.
17:05But their defense is terrible. Everything is terrible. And Cam Ward's probably going to make some mistakes here.
17:11Last year, the Texans 0-3 start, backs against the wall, played the Titans, and won 26-0.
17:16They did meet also later in the year. They won 16-13.
17:20That was a Davis-Mills game. And it was, I believe, 13-3, like, late in the fourth quarter.
17:25And Okonkwo, like, there was a busted coverage. And then they went, like, 90 yards to score a touchdown.
17:31And I think the Texans ended up winning by three.
17:35But, yeah, as long as, like, their focus show up here, I think they...
17:39Well, I mean, we often, as handicappers, have to play amateur psychologists, right?
17:43And just the spot matters so much. You and Colin talk about it often, and rightfully so, in terms of the spot.
17:50Look at what happened with Ole Miss after the LSU game.
17:54And then look what happened to Florida after they...
17:57It's just these things, it's really hard to kind of empty the tank or get up for, you know, games like that.
18:04Like, you and I didn't discuss it. We should have.
18:07Last week, the Patriots, like, season kind of on the line.
18:11Bills were playing with fire. Getting a full seven was kind of insane.
18:15So I just feel like as the season goes on, we really have to sort of pay attention to spots, which I
18:22think is the hardest thing for recreational bettors to learn, especially in the NFL.
18:26Once you kind of get it and you want to bet bad teams, that's sort of how...
18:32Or teams off bad performances. That's really the name of the game.
18:36I go back to a few years ago. I think it was when Staley got fired after losing by about 40 on
18:43a Thursday night game to the Raiders in Vegas.
18:46They hosted the Bills the following Saturday. They were catching like 16 and a half with a third-string quarterback, the North Dakota State guy, Easton Stick.
18:54And I think they either took the Bills to overtime or something ridiculous.
18:58Like, you kind of need to bet on that.
19:01That was one of my favorite bets of the year.
19:04Yeah, I had it. And I did... That's the year I finished 14th in Circa Millions.
19:09And I had it on my card. And it was like such...
19:13Because I was like week 15. So it was late.
19:16It was crunch time. I think those are the...
19:19And you're good at this. Like, you don't... You have no problem jumping on the landmines that are perceived landmines.
19:26But they end up being great value. So I just think you have to kind of...
19:31So in this case, it can be done as a favorite too.
19:35And I think this is one of those where you just have to take kind of a leap of faith or anticipate versus react because of the spot.
19:44Yeah. I mean, you just... A lot of times recreational casual bettors...
19:48And look, if you don't want to bet on bad teams, you're just doing it for fun.
19:53I get it. But people... You have to accept...
19:56And especially doing this publicly. You just have to accept that betting on some of these bad teams...
20:02You're going to look dumb sometimes. Like, oh, I can't believe you bet this team.
20:07And you're... But short-term memory. It's on to the next one.
20:10And yeah. You're always there. Which makes the Dolphins so fun, I think, this year.
20:15I think that makes the Dolphins like another sort of layer of intrigue for a handicapping just every year.
20:21Sorry, every week, the game within the game. Yeah.
20:24Speaking of spots, I'm going with one of my favorite spots of the week for my first favorite bet and the second overall pick.
20:32I'm going with the Pittsburgh Steelers minus two and a half against the Indianapolis Colts.
20:36I... First of all, this spot... I just think this should be a full three, given the spot.
20:42You have the Steelers coming off extended rest, awful loss.
20:45The Colts coming off of a game in London, now heading on the road.
20:50That rarely happens. It happened last year when the Steelers blew out the Browns, when the Browns did that.
20:56This is just as tough of a situational spot as you'll see.
21:00Also, the Colts last week, it was pretty misleading.
21:03I mean, if you look at that box score, they had...
21:06They were outgained 5.2 to 3.9 yards per play against the Commanders without McLaurin and down to their third string quarterback.
21:13And early in that game, it looked like Mariota was going to run through this defense.
21:18So they got a break then. They also got a break with the Texans not having Nico Collins.
21:24So this Colts defense, to me, has holes everywhere.
21:27A lot of the young guys that they're relying on just aren't ready to perform at this moment, at this level.
21:34Their 30th in pressure rate, that's huge because Rodgers still can't play when he's facing pressure, especially quick pressures.
21:40That's not the Colts defense. Rodgers still has been very good when kept clean this year, especially if you remove the drops that have plagued this team.
21:48So I think that they can go heavy personnel here.
21:52They can pick apart the middle of the field.
21:55So I just think this is a good buy low, sell high spot with the travel mixed in.
22:00And then, like, also, you look at the Colts.
22:03Zay Flowers left the opener. They were about to get run off the field against the Ravens in that game.
22:10Daniel Jones just, number one, he doesn't have Alec Pearson.
22:13You want to attack this Steelers secondary, which is dealing with some injuries.
22:17That is one of my main concerns here because Jamel Dean, we don't know if he's going to go.
22:23Jalen Ramsey's still dealing with his wrist. I assume he's going to play.
22:27But you want to attack this Steelers secondary with explosive passing plays.
22:31And that's just not the Colts right now, especially without Alec Pierce and Daniel Jones, who just still doesn't look right.
22:38He is on the year. He's one of six on deep passes with an interception.
22:43He has the lowest air yards in the league, excluding Klooper Rush.
22:47His ADOT has dropped from 8.6 last year to 6.2 this year.
22:50He's also been the worst quarterback in the league under pressure.
22:5421 of 44. 198 yards. One big time throw.
22:57Six turnover where he plays. Steelers defense at home.
23:00Probably going to get pressure. Probably going to cause some havoc.
23:03I don't think this Colts defense will provide much resistance.
23:07I think the Steelers also should be able to get their run game going here.
23:11So I like the matchup for the Steelers, even though they're dealing with some defensive injuries.
23:16The Colts are also dealing with some injuries on both sides of the ball.
23:21So I just think this should be a full three given the spot.
23:25Some of the matchup advantages. So I'm going to go with the Pittsburgh Steelers at home.
23:30Minus two and a half. Evan or Doug, give any thoughts there.
23:34I know that you were. Yeah. You're leaning. I like the over.
23:38I like the, I know a sharp group that bet for over 44 and a half.
23:43And I believe it. I like that. I agree.
23:46Just because you mentioned all the deal. And I think it's worth mentioning for your case, just the Steelers off the extended buy.
23:53Right. I mean, or the mini buy, excuse me, the extended rest.
23:57Yeah. Extended rest at home versus a team on the road.
24:01Does Evan have examples of that? Last year's. And it was international.
24:05Steelers against the Browns. And I think it's the only time it's happened with that exact scenario.
24:10Evan, do you know? Well, I was just quickly looking up off international playing on the road.
24:16Like the Cowboys just did it. Yes. But other than that, it hasn't been very successful recently.
24:21Like if I look just since 2024, it's, oh, it's not enough games.
24:25What if I do? Stewards last year off the buy against the Browns at home and the Browns were coming from an international game.
24:33They won 23 to nine. Yeah. If you just look last decade road off international, it's 10 and 18 straight up 10, 17 and one against the spread.
24:42Like it's not a good, not a good situation.
24:45Yeah. So I like the Steelers. Yeah. The over, I think is worth a look.
24:50You have the Steelers defensive injuries. The secondary still is gettable.
24:53And I do think the Steelers will be able to move the ball on this Colts defense, which I just don't think is very good.
25:01Like their numbers will be much worse without the Flowers injury, without the Collins injury, without facing a third string quarterback, without McLaurin last week.
25:09So, yeah, I can, I can certain Daniel Jones might give, give a couple of scores away here as well.
25:16So I can see the over as well. Evan, who are you looking at for your favorite bet?
25:21Favorite bet is an interesting way of putting it.
25:24I think based off the number currently, I do like Arizona at six and I like Green Bay at three, both not currently at those numbers.
25:33They could get there. So I went with my third option.
25:36And listen, it's New Orleans, a plus one and a half.
25:40And as Sean Kerner says, when he makes a bet, there are tons of ways for this to go multiple directions.
25:47Minnesota has the best defense. According to success rate, New Orleans has the worst.
25:51Fantastic start. I also don't love the health on New Orleans aside.
25:55Minnesota, pretty healthy other than Mason and a few things you can point to.
25:59What I do like is this. Shuck's been fine versus pressure, but by PFF, he's been pretty good versus the Blitz.
26:0672% for touchdowns and a pick. So I think that is a decent start.
26:11I also like Saints coming off that embarrassing loss, which I liked Atlanta in that spot.
26:16But I do think this is a good one even on a short week.
26:20So I like New Orleans in that spot. Now, Minnesota 4-0.
26:24We've heard everything about the offense. And 4-0 teams going into fifth game, there's really nothing there against the spread.
26:30Except for the fact when you look at the 24 points per game or less, starting 4-0, dropped to 38% against the
26:37spread, 14-23, which is kind of what everyone would expect.
26:41The one thing, New Orleans just cannot turn over the ball.
26:44When Kevin O'Connell wins a turnover battle, I believe he is 39-4.
26:48So hold on to the ball. I think this is a good number and a good spot, but I like New Orleans.
26:55And I do think they can come back as well, as we've seen multiple times.
27:00Just not when they're down 21 to Michael Panix.
27:03Yeah, I mean, this is... The Saints seemingly get behind every week by multiple scores.
27:08But now they're going up against an offense that is dead last in success rate.
27:12Dead last. They're behind Miami. And this offense is broken.
27:16You mentioned no injuries, but that's the defense. The offense, Brian O'Neal, in doubt.
27:20I think he was limited or didn't practice today.
27:23Christian Darasol might not go. So both their tackles might be out.
27:27You'd be down to Caleb Tiernan and Ryan Vandermark.
27:30Donovan Jackson, their starting left guard, just went on IR.
27:33Justin Jefferson, still in doubt. Jordan Addison, groin issue.
27:36In doubt. So, I mean, this offense, and they can't run the ball.
27:40And that's been the Saints' biggest weakness. Saints have the worst run defense in the NFL this year.
27:46Part of that is injuries. We'll see if they get guys like Granderson, Jennings, and Ellis back this week.
27:52But last week was just a nightmare matchup against Bijon in that offensive line.
27:56But the Vikings can't run it. They're 26 in rush success rate.
28:00Now might be down multiple offensive linemen. Jefferson might not play.
28:04Addison dealing with an injury. Kylo Murray has not been good in this offense.
28:08He's still not comfortable. So, yeah. I mean, I think, look, the Saints can't run the ball, which is tough against Flores
28:15because he can just bring blitz from everywhere. But Shuck has been decent against the blitz.
28:20He's just got to hit a couple of explosives here.
28:24You don't need – you're not going to need to score that many points against a team that has won two games without scoring a touchdown.
28:32And the Vikings, per my luck rankings, are number one luckiest team in the league no matter which metric you look at.
28:39And their defense, Flores is awesome. But I do think their defense is a tad overrated.
28:44Like, we're at the peak of the market on this Vikings defense.
28:48They've played the Packers, who put up a ton of yards and just got pretty unlucky in that game in week one.
28:55But the Packers' offense has been a mess, by the way.
28:59The Bears in weather, when Caleb Williams gets hurt and they don't score at the goal line multiple times.
29:05The Bucs' offense and the Dolphins' offense. It doesn't get much easier than that.
29:09So, yeah. I like the Saints here as well.
29:12I will be on them monitoring the market, trying to time the best market entry.
29:17But it's also worth noting, with all these injuries that I mentioned with Minnesota, Minnesota, Minnesota's 4-0 with a bye on deck.
29:24So, as a result, they might take a more cautious approach.
29:28Right? You have some leeway at 4-0, bye on deck, playing a team you might think you can win without risking some longer-term injuries.
29:35Jefferson out, you think? Yeah. I don't think Jefferson's going to play, but I don't know for sure.
29:41Darisaw, I don't think, is going to play. So, you're going to be without both of your whole left side of your offensive line.
29:49O'Neal dealing with an injury. You don't know with Addison.
29:52And this offense, even at full strength, is broken.
29:55And they're missing Jordan Mason in the running game.
29:58So, yeah. I think the Saints can do just enough.
30:01And it's not like this Vikings team is going to fully take advantage of their run defense woes.
30:07So, I agree with you here, Evan. I really like our six-pack this week.
30:11I like our first three plays. Doug, anything to add?
30:15Yeah. I think the under is interesting. I mean, Vikings have gone under 3 of 4.
30:20The only one was that opening week Packers game.
30:23So, I think it's going to test with this New Orleans defense.
30:26Like, will it stay under? And will they try to win another rock fight?
30:31But it's hard to bet over with this Minnesota offense and that defense.
30:35But to your point, it's a little misleading. I don't know about the Saints team.
30:40I mean, a lot of the fans, like, think Kellen Moore is overrated.
30:44I don't know. Their defense is not good. They've been in a bunch of shootouts.
30:49But Shook's looked the part. And even... I think it's a really interesting matchup for all the reasons you outlined so well.
30:56Yeah. And, I mean, the Saints, their defense is banged up.
31:00I mean, they're missing all their best run defenders.
31:02Maybe they'll get some of them back. Ellis, they missed him blitzing.
31:06But they've played, right, a healthy Falcons offense. The Raiders offense, which has been great.
31:11The Ravens and the Lions. Like, this is a big step down.
31:15But the Saints haven't been good at home going back to last year.
31:19But they were also terrible with Spencer Rattler. So, what do we know?
31:23Right? Yeah. So, yeah. I think that this is a better matchup for their defense.
31:28And they might be a little bit healthier. And this Vikings offense is just bad right now.
31:34And beat up. So, I agree with you. I'll be on the Saints as well at some point.
31:39All right. Let's move on to the marquee matchup of the weekend.
31:43Let's talk a little Packers-Bears. Bears are a two-and-a-half-point road favorite at Green Bay.
31:48Total, 45-and-a-half. Evan, this is the first time Chicago will be favored in Green Bay since 06, I believe.
31:54Yeah. 05 and 06, back-to-back years. And I believe they haven't even closed below, like, minus three.
31:59So, that was even, like, what we were going for in this one.
32:03And, you know, all the way flip six points.
32:06Yeah. I think this is too much of an adjustment in the market.
32:11I played the Packers here. You can still find, like, three minus 120 out there.
32:15We're going to use it for a contest pick.
32:18We'll use two-and-a-half since it's the number on DraftKings and the most widely available number right now.
32:24I just don't think that this Bears team should be a field goal favorite at Green Bay with a backup quarterback.
32:30And, I mean, like, this is getting crazy. And still, what I think is a bad defense, right?
32:36Like, the defense has played well the last three weeks.
32:39They got destroyed by Carolina. It's played really well the last three weeks.
32:44But they played the Vikings in weather, the Eagles, who are completely broken, and a decimated Jets offense with a missing offensive lineman, A.D.
32:51Mitchell, Brees Hall. And they just didn't run any plays.
32:55Additionally, Jordan Love has been very good historically against man and the blitz.
32:59And the Bears are playing a lot of man under Dennis Allen, as you'd expect, and they're blitzing a lot to get pressure.
33:06Without the blitz, they're 21st in pressure rate. So, and Love in five games that he started and finished against this Bears
33:13defense, 66% completion rate, 1,400 yards, 13 touchdowns, two interceptions, only five sacks.
33:17He's 4-1. The only loss was in that wild card game last year when the Bears came back in miraculous fashion.
33:24I think they scored 24 points in the fourth quarter.
33:27This is a buy low, sell high spot. I think it's a good matchup for Love.
33:32Baygent will probably turn the ball over a couple times.
33:36He's been turnover prone. Even the Jets got a pick against him.
33:40They should have had a couple. There's a couple penalties that took away other ones.
33:44I don't think Mononga is going to play. He's been much better than Swift.
33:49By the way, Swift and Mononga didn't practice today.
33:52Three-fifths of their offensive line didn't practice today. They are offenses on the field for 90 plays, so their defense should be fresh.
33:59But their offense got a little bit banged up last week.
34:03So, and the Bears have been pretty fortunate. They've been late down merchants so far.
34:07That's not sustainable, especially on defense. Their 30th in rush success rate and 24th in drop back EPA on early downs.
34:14Number one in the NFL on late downs in both.
34:17Early downs, much more predictable. Over the last three games against those horrible offenses, those teams had a 17% third down conversion rate.
34:25The Packers, by the way, is number one in early down drop back EPA.
34:29Number 32 on late downs. So there's some late down, early down regression that favors the Packers here.
34:35Packers are also dead last on third downs on offense.
34:38But their offense actually played better last week, especially the offensive line.
34:4255% pass block win rate. That's notable because coming into last week it was at 18%, which is unfathomably low.
34:49What happened? Well, they got Monk and Burton out of there.
34:52You put in Lake and Tomlinson, the veteran. He helped in the run game.
34:57I mean, their backs actually had averaged four and a half yards per carry last week.
35:02Zeitler will probably start this week at right guard.
35:05That's another big upgrade veteran in there. So their offensive line, still bad, but trending up.
35:10I think this is a good matchup for Jordan Love.
35:13Look, Ben Johnson's a wizard. He might just get me here like he did last week.
35:18But this number, this is too much of an adjustment.
35:21I have to take the Packers. Narrative Streep also.
35:24I'm sure LaFleur and everyone has had this game circled after they blew that game last week.
35:30Last year in the wild card round. I think the Packers get their revenge.
35:34Actually have a kicker now, which helps. So, yeah, I like Green Bay here.
35:39Doug, you got anything? It's crazy. I looked it up in 06.
35:43It was Rex Grossman favored at Brett Favre. So that's kind of surprising.
35:47It wasn't one of these weird situations. It was.
35:50But that Bears team, I think, went to the Super Bowl that year.
35:54So, yeah, I was actually at that game. Are you betting this?
35:58I kind of lean to the Bears at two and a half.
36:02I think Ben Johnson is that good. And I just don't believe in this Packers team.
36:07I think they're dysfunctional right now. I think LaFleur is going to be fired soon.
36:12But I'm not betting it. The spot is terrible, like you said.
36:15It's, you know, like the spot against the Eagles on Monday night.
36:19We talked about it that week. It was great.
36:22It was a fat and happy 2-0 Philly team.
36:25And the mad scientist was loving the challenge of a backup quarterback and carving up an overrated or flat Philly team.
36:32And then the Jets just were a shell of what they normally are.
36:36This will be tough. But, I mean, you know the Bears lead the NFL in drives that reach the red zone per game, 4.8.
36:44But they rank 30th in touchdown conversion. So, if they fix that or that regresses, I actually think the Bears, there's more upside than people think.
36:52So, like a conventional wisdom would say this is a sell-high spot of Chicago.
36:57And it probably is. Obviously, on their defense, maybe.
36:59But there's upside. And Bajan's got more explosives than Keenum.
37:03And I like Bajan. There's a reason he got a big deal as a backup on one of the higher-paid backups.
37:09So, I'm kind of afraid to bet against just because I think Ben Johnson loves this kind of situation with backups and sticking it to the Packers.
37:18So, I think the Bears might just kind of another sort of quote-unquote fluky or lucky cover here.
37:24Yeah. I mean, the argument against it, which I can see, is just Ben Johnson.
37:29Like, you look across the league like these play callers that are just so much better than everyone else.
37:35Like, the Vikings are 4-0 because of Flores. Liam Cohen and the Jags and their offense and what they keep doing.
37:41Ben Johnson, right? Kyle Shanahan. And the absence in Detroit, right?
37:45We've seen the absence of Ben Johnson. Yeah. So, yeah.
37:48And the Packers' offense might just be a mess.
37:51But I think their offensive line is trending up.
37:54You've got some veteran guards in there now. I think this is a good matchup for Jordan Love.
38:00This is mainly a sell of the Bears' defense, though.
38:03I mean, like, their last three offenses that they faced were all completely incompetent.
38:08And so this – at least now you're going up against, you know, talented receivers, a talented quarterback who has a good matchup here schematically.
38:16So I just think this number's gone too far.
38:18Hate Faden Beck. Probably. But I'm on Green Bay here.
38:22Shop around. See if you can buy – like, a three up to minus 125 I think is good.
38:28This is also another sneaky over because, like – Yeah.
38:31I just think Ben Johnson and this offense, they're going to score against almost anybody.
38:36And they should have scored more last week. And the Packers, I think, have a favorable matchup against the Bears' defense that
38:43I think has been – has benefited from their schedule over the past three weeks.
38:48Evan, you got anything on this game? Hard either way.
38:51Ben Johnson just covers every single spread every week.
38:54So everything would kind of point that direction. But I do feel like this six-point move – that's why I kind of like this.
39:01I think it's a three with Green Bay. But they're also banged up.
39:06And Jordan Love's been absolutely terrible against the number.
39:09Like, if you just throw out last week when maybe probably not a cover anyway since it was over three and a half.
39:16Like, he just – one of the worst quarterbacks over the last year or two.
39:21All right. I might be on an island with this one.
39:24I'm assuming everyone's going to be on the Bears.
39:27So – but I might be the foolish one fading Ben.
39:31All right. Let's move on to our marquee four o'clock game.
39:34Cover the one at one between the Bears and the Packers.
39:38Four o'clock, we have the 49ers and the Seahawks.
39:41Seahawks, a juiced two-and-a-half point home favorite against the undefeated 49ers.
39:44I like Seattle here. I – so here's why.
39:47Especially – a juiced two-and-a-half. Like, respect McDonald. Respect Shanahan.
39:50Respect the Seattle home field advantage. But if you look back historically, McDonald has gotten the best of Shanahan and especially Brock Purdy.
39:58It was two-and-four against McDonald. Six touchdowns, nine interceptions, a 75 quarterback rating.
40:02Against all other teams, Purdy's quarterback rating is 105.
40:05The injuries have not cost San Francisco yet. But they played the Rams in Australia in a game like that I'm almost throwing out.
40:13And then since then, they played the Cardinals, the Dolphins, and the Broncos in a game where they couldn't do anything on offense.
40:20All at home. Yeah, all at home. This is their first road game in the toughest environment to play at in the entire NFL.
40:28And last week, they finally played a real defense and couldn't do anything until Sertan and Moss both got hurt.
40:34So they were pretty fortunate, I think, to get that cover.
40:38Now, you lose. And here's the thing. San Francisco in the offseason with Shanahan, they started to reconfigure their offense to beat this Seattle defense with McDonald.
40:46So what did they do? They knew that they had to win on the outside.
40:51So they went. They got Mike Evans. They drafted Shriveling.
40:54They were hoping for a big year out of Ricky Pearsall.
40:58They started doing these dash motions with Kyle Juszczyk to get the run game going.
41:03Well, they don't have any of those pieces anymore.
41:06Like, Evans is hurt. Last week, he got no separation.
41:09Striveling's hurt. Pearsall's hurt. And now you lost Juszczyk.
41:12His backup was supposed to be Tongis. So, like, he's the catalyst to the run game.
41:17He does so much for you. They are just so beat up.
41:21I don't think they're going to be able to do a lot of those things.
41:25And against Purdy, McDonald just keeps him in the pocket.
41:29No one can run on Seattle. I'm assuming Leonard Williams is going to play.
41:33That's an important injury to watch. And Purdy's just going to make mistakes here.
41:38And this San Francisco defense, which has a ton of injuries up front, led by Bosa, now they're dealing with injuries in the secondary.
41:45I know Seattle hasn't been able to run the ball, but I think Darnold and JSN will be able to do enough here at home.
41:53I think we're getting Seattle a little bit cheap here, given all of San Francisco's injuries.
41:59I just think we're getting under three, even though it's a juice to an F, because San Francisco has looked so good starting out 4-0.
42:07But I think it has been schedule-assisted. And a lot of these things that San Francisco wants to do offensively to try
42:14to beat Seattle, maybe it's one of the reasons why McDonald brought in Fleury to be his offensive coordinator.
42:20He was in charge of the tight ends in the run game last year at San Francisco, so I'm sure he's tapping into him.
42:27I just think this matchup historically has favored McDonald, will again this week, because San Francisco's revamped offense that they wanted to
42:35have for this Seattle game, is now in shambles.
42:37The use check injury is just so big. So I like Seattle here.
42:42I think we're getting them fairly cheap. Doug, are you seeing anything here?
42:46I think that's the only side you can play in this game.
42:50I mean, Seattle has actually been a house of horrors for Shanahan.
42:53He's 1-7 straight up there as an underdog. I just think, I mean, the Niners haven't played a true road game.
43:00They played in Australia. That's the only game they played the Rams, who were completely upside down with their travel schedule.
43:07The Niners can still be good and also have a favorable schedule that they've taken advantage of.
43:12Yeah. And they're good, but the question is, without all those guys you mentioned, and the use check injury is huge.
43:19So this left knee injury, he's out two to three weeks, I think is really significant.
43:24Purdy can do a lot, and he's obviously evolved since those game manager label days, right?
43:29He's legit. But at some point, he can only do so much, and I think the Seattle defense is that inflection point.
43:37So I think it's interesting that Niners haven't given up a sack, so you can bet on these things, right?
43:43They post these later in the week. You can bet on sacks and whatnot.
43:47But I think the Niners are going to have their hands full, and McDonald's an excellent coach.
43:53So he'll have this defense ready for all the creativity that Shanahan can do on offense.
43:58But I think the Seahawks at home, and a guy like Shahid, he was acquired mid-season last year or the deadline last year, so late.
44:06I think he's been a force on offense. Like, what did they do, a pop pass to him or hand it off
44:13last week because of Jadar and Price being out?
44:16So they found more creative ball carriers, and he scored a touchdown from the 20-yard line.
44:21So they're getting more creative on offense as well.
44:24I like Seattle too. Yeah, I mean, I assume you're going to see more Braden Willis in that use check role, but he's just not use check.
44:33It's just not going to be the same. He is so important to everything San Francisco does.
44:38And watching Evans last week, he's just not healthy.
44:41He has a number of injuries. He just wasn't getting any separation.
44:45And this Seattle defense was constructed in a lab to stop the Shanahan offense.
44:49Shanahan tried to evolve it with new ways of using use check, get Evans, get these deep threats on the outside.
44:56And now they're all either hurt or not playing.
44:59So that's what I think the difference is here.
45:02And I don't think San Francisco is going to get much pressure on Darnold.
45:07JSN will get his, and I think that'll be enough.
45:10Evan, you got anything here? Historically, like McDonald's 21 home games, 13-8, but they've won nine in a row.
45:16So a lot of that was like previous struggles.
45:19So I do think, and listen, I'm not the best person to talk about betting against San Francisco.
45:25But I will continue to back the side of that other team, especially when I feel like the line, I mean, I
45:32would say it's inflated, except it's just sitting at three.
45:35And the other thing I'll give you is this.
45:38Against teams above 500, Seattle under McDonald is 16-6 straight up, 13-8-1 against the spread.
45:43But it's the second half. 16-3-3, 16-5-1 against the number.
45:46So I do feel like even if it's close, they'll figure out a way in the second half.
45:52All right, let's move on to the grossest betting game of the week.
45:56Mmm, what's that smell? It stinks. What do you mean?
45:59It's trash. The sweet, sweet trash. The trash is a gold mine.
46:03Gold mine. We have an NFC East showdown between the Commanders and the Giants.
46:07I want the Commanders here. I think this is a good, like, but there's a couple things that I'm worried about.
46:14Because I just want to sell this Giants team following back-to-back home wins over the Titans and Cardinals, two of the worst
46:21teams in the NFL, who both turn the ball over at the goal line with chances to win.
46:27Like, the Giants easily could have lost both those games at home.
46:31This game, there's going to be weather. There might be wind.
46:34There's going to be a ton of rain, most likely.
46:37And the Giants just can't run the ball since losing Dart.
46:4129% rush success rate since he went down. That would be dead last in the NFL.
46:46And the Commanders' run defense has been fairly impressive.
46:49Like, their defense is better than it has been, than it was last year.
46:54Younger, faster, new defensive coordinator, blitzing a ton. Jameis is helpless against the blitz.
46:58But there's a lot of questions with the Commanders.
47:01Coming back from a trip overseas, Jane Daniels is going to play, but he has that brace.
47:06What does that do to his play style? Quinn said they're going to work on him going down and avoiding contact.
47:13Can you shed blockers? Is he more hesitant to run?
47:16Because the Commanders with Jane Daniels in the lineup this year, third highest explosive run rate without him, 31st.
47:22Actually, no, but dead last without him. I think you're going to get White back.
47:27You saw Eckler last week have some success. And Bill has been dreadful.
47:31He's under three yards per carry. So I think that their run game has a much better shot this week in what could be horrible conditions.
47:40You know, Jameis isn't going to run. He's been bad against the blitz.
47:44But then you look at the Commanders injury report.
47:47Is McLaurin going to play? Diggs wasn't at practice today.
47:50He popped up on the injury report. I think they're going to get Cosby back, which will help their offensive line.
47:57But their defense has a ton of injuries. Their offensive line.
48:00I mean, go look at their injury report is a CDS receipt.
48:04So I have to monitor. The line's at three and a half.
48:08So I'm not like, oh my God, I got to get it in.
48:12It'd be different if the line was at three.
48:15But I might end up getting involved in the Commanders.
48:18I think it's a good spot. It's a good matchup.
48:22I think the blitz is going to force Winston into some mistakes.
48:25I trust the Commanders to run the ball more and easier.
48:29And have an easier time doing so in these conditions.
48:32But it won't be a big bet. The Daniels brace.
48:35Coming back from London. The weather had some variance.
48:38But I'm leading Commanders here. Doug, you got anything?
48:41I know. I agree with everything you said. I mean, that's such a fraudulent three-in-one team, right?
48:47Because after week one, when they had Dart, the Giants offense has been dead last in EPA.
48:52That's worse than the Vikings. The defense not playing particularly well either.
48:56And obviously, Jameis is entertaining and likable. But you get the full experience now.
49:00The interceptions, the touchdowns. Their special teams is great.
49:03And maybe that's Harbaugh correlated because he's a former special teams coordinator back in the day.
49:08Yeah, their special teams has been the best in the league so far this year.
49:13Yeah. I just wish they were playing a different team because all the reasons you mentioned, Washington has a bunch of uncertainty and skepticism.
49:21But I would have to only play Washington here.
49:24Yeah. Winston, 3.8 yards per attempt against the Blitz this year, which is horrific.
49:28And Washington is Minnesota- Yeah, DeBruy didn't practice today, I want to say.
49:33So he's dinged up. Yeah, Neighbors is dinged up as well.
49:36There's a lot of injuries to watch here, but no burns.
49:40But I just have to monitor the Washington injury report.
49:43But yeah, Washington is Minnesota-like. It's a Flores disciple as a defensive coordinator.
49:47They're the second highest blitzing team in the league.
49:50I think that's going to give Winston all kinds of trouble.
49:53And I don't think the Giants will have success running the ball.
49:57But here's the thing, like they needed- Their running game was so dependent on Dart and his running ability, right?
50:04And you have to respect his running ability. And that opens up things for Skadabo.
50:09So now you can just key in on Skadabo and you take away their run game.
50:14And their run game has disappeared since Dart went down.
50:17Evan, you got anything on this game? The only thing I can come up with this game, and I think this is
50:24kind of fascinating and I had to look this up, like Jameis has played in this high of wins on the road 12 times in his career.
50:3349 points per game in those games. Just absolute chaos.
50:36He's scored points. He's given away points. Total's gone over by 3.6 points per game.
50:41So maybe 42.5 feels a bit low based off all the crap that goes on in his games.
50:46Yeah, I could see that. Yeah. You can't bet unders in his games.
50:51Yeah, he's definitely very friendly to overbetters. But yeah, I just think it was a good spot to sell the Giants off
50:58two wins off two of the worst teams in the league who were at the goal line and turned it over with a chance to win.
51:06And then you had Washington coming off a loss where they were one and a half yards per play better than the
51:13Colts down to their third string quarterback without McLaurin.
51:16So I think this is a good buy low sell high spot.
51:20Would love to get a three. Have to monitor the injury report.
51:24All right, before we get to some hurry up offense, I want to remind everyone that BetSync is back in the Action app and it's better than ever.

56:32A decade ago, the ethanol kingpin of Iowa became the king of corn in Brazil.
56:36So we met with a lot of larger farmers, went from Bahia to Tocatines to Mato Grosso.
56:42And he brought a team of executives. They were going to help the country get in on a gold rush.
56:48Carbon and its derivatives are going to be really the next great commodity that the globe's going to trade.
56:54But back home in Iowa, trouble was brewing. If you live in Iowa, your land, your water, and your voice could all
57:01be at risk thanks to a man named Bruce Rastetter.
57:05Now people are questioning if his climate solutions have anything to do with climate at all.
57:10You gotta give Bruce and the guys credit. They're Republicans.
57:13They don't give a s*** in them on any of this now.
57:17On this season of Drilled, Carbon Cowboys, the story of how the ethanol kingpin of Iowa became the king of corn in Brazil.
57:24And what it tells us about the limits of technology and markets to solve the climate crisis.

57:34Let's pick up the pace. Hurry this up, please.
57:37Just wanted to make it more exciting. And don't leave out anything.
57:41All right, let's get to some hurry-up offense. Go through a couple of these games quickly.
57:46Some that have, most of these have major injury questions.
57:49Let's start with the aforementioned Miami Dolphins. Fresh off their first cover of the year, thanks to TJ Hawkinson.
57:55And Bengals down to a six-and-a-half point road favorite at Miami.
57:59Total 42-and-a-half. To me, this is all about Jamar Chase and T.
58:03Higgins. Are they going to play or not? Higgins was limited today.
58:06Chase dealing with a concussion, so maybe like 30% chance he plays.
58:10Burroughs never played without both of them. The Dolphins' run defense has actually been pretty good.
58:15They cannot defend the pass, especially against competent quarterbacks.
58:18Bengals' pass protection has been good. Dolphins play a lot of zone.
58:22So if you have Higgins and or Chase, Burroughs is going to move the ball.
58:27But if you don't have either of them, Yoshibosh is also on IR.
58:31Like this Dolphins' defense, by the way, is going to be like 90 degrees humid in Florida.
58:37That matters early in the year. This Dolphins' defense can hang because their run defense is decent.
58:42And then I think you'd want to have a plus seven in your back pocket.
58:47But if Higgins and or Chase play, maybe the Bengals, their defense now has injuries in the secondary.
58:53It's not the same. They've been lucky in the red zone.
58:56Miami's been unlucky, so you might get some regression there.
58:59I don't think I would want the Dolphins, especially at plus six-and-a-half, if either one of those plays.
59:05So this is an injury monitor game. If you got the Dolphins at seven-and-a-half and then Higgins and Chase end up being
59:12out, even at seven, I think it would be a good bet.
59:16If you buy the Bengals now at six-and-a-half and Chase, four Higgins plays, I think that's a good bet.
59:22So for me, nothing really to do here. I should mention the Bengals have a buy on deck.
59:28So maybe that impacts how they determine what to do with Higgins and or Chase.
59:33It's like, hey, we're playing the Dolphins. We can probably win this game without them.
59:38Let's abide in the Ravens. So I think it's all about Higgins and Chase here.
59:42Doug, you got anything? Yeah. I mean, I'm still fascinated by this Miami team because they have all the signs of being
59:50one of the worst teams ever because of the roster and losing A-Shan and everything.
59:54But look who they've played. All the teams they've played combined are undefeated except for the Raiders who lost to one of the other opponents of Miami.
60:03So all the teams they've played have won all the games that they could have.
60:08And they also, I guess Minnesota know, but they all passed the smell test.
60:12Like we know the Chiefs are good. We know the Niners are good.
60:17We know the Raiders are obviously way better than we thought.
60:20And they're playing hard. And with all these guys missing, like I'm inclined to take the dog here.
60:26Hey, the Vikings didn't find the end zone. The Dolphins did last week.
60:30By the way, that was like 65 to 1.
60:33No touchdown. Every other game is like 150, 200.
60:36No touchdown. That game was 65 to 1. I would take the points.
60:40I think the humidity and the sun and all that is part of it.
60:44I think the Bengals just kind of want to get in and get out.
60:49And I will say it's early enough in the season where I don't think Miami's quit.
60:54They just don't have the pieces. But I think they'll play hard enough.
60:58And they've played with some good teams, all things considered.
61:02Yeah. And then the injuries in the Bengals secondary, there's a chance Miami can hit an explosive or two here.
61:08They did against the Vikings last week, but they had a toe on the line.
61:13And by like a toe now. Oh my gosh, yeah.
61:16Wow. It wouldn't shock me if Miami won. Like it wouldn't shock me.
61:20Yeah. I don't think they're going 0-17. I think they very well could.
61:24But I think this is a game with those injuries.
61:28With Higgins and – I mean, that's big. Higgins and Chase are obviously – Chase is – I mean, he's arguably the best.
61:35Well, and your third receiver's out. And your – Those guys.
61:38And they can't run the ball. They don't have a run of 15 or more yards this season.
61:44Yeah. And the Dolphins run these actually been – Right.
61:47The strength of their team. So – This could be a Zach Taylor early, you know, egg-laid special.
61:53I wonder how many catches fantasy and prop players – Gisicki is going to – Last week, Hawkinson had 13 catches on 13 targets.
62:01So it could be a big Gisicki game. That's a good call on the player props and everything.
62:07Raiders Patriots. Patriots are a three-and-a-half-point home favorite against the Raiders.
62:10Injury watch for the Patriots here. Like, does – you have Matt Collins, Christian Gonzalez, Barmore.
62:15A couple that I'm watching. I could see – I know both teams are coming off big games.
62:21The Raiders, I thought, fared well against the Chiefs.
62:24Yeah. Now are coming across the country. Off a big game.
62:28The Pats also coming off of a huge win against the Bills.
62:31Depending on the health of the Patriots, I could see me potentially playing the Patriots.
62:36I mean, their run defense has been bad this year, but the Raiders have not been able – They have not successfully ran the ball.
62:44It's been a lot of play action. I mean, the offense is – Cousins is playing so well.
62:50The tight ends have given opposing teams fits. Just the Kubiak scheme has just looked – It's worlds better than it was last year.
62:58And the offensive line is playing much better. They've been one of the best pass-blocking units in the NFL.
63:04But I think there could be some turnover regression looming here that favors the Pats.
63:09The Pats lead the league. Now, part of that you can blame Drake May.
63:13But the Pats lead the league in giveaways at 10, and the Raiders lead the league in takeaways at 9.
63:20That's masked some of their defensive issues. I mean, last week we saw their defense get carved up by the Chiefs.
63:26Before then, they played the Saints, and they couldn't get any stops.
63:30They got four turnovers in the second half. Before then, they played the Chargers and the Dolphins offenses.
63:36So I think that the Raiders' defense, which is not the most talented unit in the NFL, is ripe for the picking here.
63:43We might still be a little bit too low on this Pats offense.
63:48I mean, they have played the Jags, Steelers, Seahawks, and Bills when they looked good last week.
63:53Bills' defense is bad, and they look good. I think they're getting another bad defense here.
63:58If this gets down to three somehow, I could see myself playing the Pats, but there's some injuries to monitor.
64:05You got anything here, Doug? Yeah, the spot is awful for the Raiders.
64:09So I thought last week might be as well, and they played great.
64:13I mean, look, they're the only 4-0 ATS team in the league.
64:17And last week, they were not trailing by more than four points all game until the peanut punch on the kickoff return and then the first score touchdown.
64:26They were winning or losing by four all game.
64:29I was really impressed with them. Easily could have won that game.
64:33I disagree with Kubiak kicking that field goal to go up two.
64:36That was stupid. You never do. I get to Mahomes like four seconds later, and they were losing.
64:42Well, no, I'm sorry. Earlier when he took points off the board, I'm okay with taking points off the board if you
64:49get a first down, but he took it off to go fourth and two.
64:54Yeah. But then if you do that, you got to do it again and go fourth and one.
65:00To go up two late is just – To take points off the board to run a fourth down is dumb.
65:06Is dumb. I'm okay going for it, but you have to go for both.
65:11You have to go for fourth and one later.
65:14Right. But you can't – You can't go fourth and two and then not go fourth and one.
65:20You can't take points off the board because it wasn't fourth and goal from the two.
65:25It was fourth and two. So it's 50-50 to get the first down, and then it's what?
65:3050-50 to get a touchdown. So it's – You know, that's EPA of 1.75.
65:35It's just mathematically silly. But either way, I think he's been great.
65:38I mean, so this has all the makings of an under.
65:42Okay? Just the way – But the Raiders' play calling and offense has just been so impressive.
65:47I'm a little reluctant. But we saw how the Patriots did in the revenge spot against the Steelers, right?
65:54Last year they had those five turnovers, including a bunch inside the five.
65:58But this is a revenge angle, too, for week one last year when Vegas went in there and won, which was the
66:05craziest result of the season looking back based on how each team finished.
66:09I would be inclined to play the Pats here.
66:12And, I mean, I think there is data for teams that are really good against the spread.
66:17And 4-0 ATS, like they don't do well week five for what it's worth.
66:22But it's been an impressive run. And obviously, Bowers changes everything for this team.
66:26And so, in like a pick-em league, I'm definitely taking New England, but I don't think I'm going to bet them.
66:33Yeah, I'll play devil's advocate for the over. If the Patriots aren't healthy on defense, and this Raiders offense with Bowers back
66:40is just going to move the ball, they're going to put up points.
66:44The Pats and their defense, I think, is going to give up points.
66:49They've relied on turnovers. The Pats have left a lot of points on the board with turnovers.
66:54I think there's going to be opportunities for Drake May to move the ball.
66:58Evan, you got anything on 4-0 against the spread teams?
67:02I mean, yeah, they're not great bets. But to me, I think the interesting angle with this one is the loss in early season last year.
67:10I looked it up. So, Vrabels coached 14 games versus teams he's lost in his last meeting.
67:1610-4 straight up, 11-3 against the spread. So, I do like that from that perspective.
67:20And you're going to see the trend everywhere. But Drake May is 14-0 and a favorite of 3-plus.
67:26So, see how that goes. Do we trust Drake May?
67:29Yeah, I liked what I saw last week. Me too.
67:33So, yeah, I think that we're kind of like at the bottom of market perception on him.
67:38So, and like it's really the elite defenses that he's really struggled against.
67:42And that's not… Right, but it was like weird stuff though.
67:46I mean, the ball dropping out of his hand.
67:49The unnecessary end zone pick in week one. The opener, right?
67:52To Seattle. So, it's… Yeah, I think he did have like a mental… Like he was like having like… Yeah, it's mental.
67:59And like… Yes. But so, I think last week did a lot for him.
68:04Right? Getting a win in Buffalo playing well. Just like mentally getting back to… Okay, I now have confidence as an NFL starting quarterback.
68:11I think he can carry that momentum forward. And then lastly, Jets, Browns.
68:16Jets, one and a half point home favorite against the Browns.
68:19I thought this would be the trash, the ugly game or whatever.
68:23Yeah, it easily could have been. Look, I want the Jets.
68:27It's scary. There's a lot of injuries to monitor with the Jets.
68:30And they didn't even practice today because they were on the field for 90 plays.
68:35So, what is the impact of that to their defense against a Browns team that has extended rest?
68:41But I do want to sell the Browns. Right?
68:44Like their defense is not… There's no Mason Grand.
68:47And they're just not the same as… Their defense is just not the same away from home.
68:52So, I want to sell this Browns team. I'm still not a believer in Watson.
68:57I know he's played a little better. But it's a lot of dink and dunk here, dink and dunk there.
69:03They can't run the ball. And that's been the Jets' biggest weakness.
69:07I think we're getting the Jets a little cheap here.
69:11Browns off a big win over the Steelers. Ravens on deck.
69:14Flying high. Jets coming off two road losses to Detroit and Chicago.
69:18I think I want to bet the Jets here.
69:21But there's so many injuries to monitor. Like, I hope A.D.
69:24Mitchell… I don't think Brees Hall is going to play.
69:28Is A.D. Mitchell what's going on with his finger?
69:30They're both week to week, right? Yeah. Yeah, so… Spot-wise, I want to play the Jets.
69:36You're going to see a lot of man coverage.
69:39Gino historically has been much better against man. But, yeah.
69:42So, buy low, sell high. In me says, I got to play the Jets here.
69:47But off 90 plays on defense. Browns extended rest.
69:49Maybe that's the great equalizer here. But I do think we're getting the Jets a little cheap.
69:55The Jets' first half. Yeah. I could see that.
69:58That might be worth a look. Evan, you got anything on this game?
70:02Everything would coin Cleveland. And I just don't want to do it.
70:06I can give you a bunch of stuff that says Cleveland.
70:09Like, so far this season, rest advantage. Which would be Browns, 10-4, 10-3-1.
70:14Gino's just, like, awful as a favorite. He's the worst in the Super Bowl era.
70:18Minimum 25 starts. And the thing I don't like is last five years, when defense plays 85-plus plays previous game.
70:25Just 5-10 next week. So, yeah. Everything told me I want to bet the Jets.
70:30But just… And there's, like, the injuries you mentioned as well.
70:33Yeah. Jets are definitely beat up. Get this out of my face.
70:37All right. Let's go to Sunday night football. This will be my Ravens filibuster of the week.
70:42Won't be long. Let the filibustering begin. This game is weird.
70:46But Ravens will travel to Atlanta. They're a three-and-a-half point underdog.
70:50I play the Ravens plus three-and-a-half. There's an outside chance Lamar plays.
70:53I don't think he's going to play. The market doesn't think he's going to play.
70:58I think it's going to be Snoop Huntley. The offense went into the trash last week.
71:03But they basically didn't do anything. They just weren't throwing it downfield.
71:07Yeah. And they had a big lead. So, the offense should look a little better this week.
71:13I think this is just too much of an overreaction to the… Like, you're crossing.
71:17This was three-and-a-half. Look at it even before. That was like six, six-and-a-half.
71:22You have to upgrade the Falcons for their performance.
71:25But they got a dream matchup against the Saints.
71:27Worst run D in the league with all of their injuries.
71:31And then, look. The last two weeks… You can maybe throw out the Cooper Rush games.
71:36So, the last two weeks, the Falcons have looked good.
71:39They beat the Packers, who were like starting… Their offensive line that week was a disaster.
71:44They haven't been able to stop the run. The Saints have been the worst run defense in the league.
71:51They were also without their left tackle. The last two games, I think we're kind of at a peak on the Falcons here.
71:58The Ravens are still a very competent defense. They can defend the run.
72:02They still have Derrick Henry. By the way, the Falcons… Their defensive metrics look good.
72:07But they've gone against… Their last two wins, they've gone against the Packers and the Saints offensive lines, which were dealing with injuries.
72:14On the road, but yeah. Neither of those offenses can run the ball a lick.
72:19A lick. Look at the rush offenses that Atlanta has faced this year.
72:23Derrick Henry now is a much stiffer test. And I know the Falcons' pressure rates all look good.
72:29Their defense looks good. But there's no A.J. Terrell.
72:32They're missing their two best edge rushers. I think a lot of the Atlanta defensive metrics have to do with their opponents.
72:39So, I don't love it. But after my adjustment for Lamar being out, I can't get to even three.
72:45I'm still… Atlanta is a favorite, but under three.
72:48So, I took the three and a half with the Ravens.
72:52That's basically the handicap there. I just think this is too much of an overreaction.
72:56Will you have anything here, Doug? Well, I just want to… Not much.
73:01I just want to remind people that oddsmakers hate these situations.
73:04They want both teams at full strength and just lean on their power ratings.
73:09So, when there are injuries, especially at a valuable position like quarterback or cluster injuries like we see in other games that
73:16we've discussed, there's really like the key numbers. Like all these numbers don't mean as much because it's just such an inefficient number.
73:23Now, books still put out odds because they're going to get two-way action, right?
73:28They're going to get two-way action, maybe lower the max bet or something because we're technically unsure about Lamar.
73:34But it's not like this market's like an efficient market.
73:37Even though it's the NFL, it's still inefficient because we don't really know the true value of Tyler Huntley at this age versus Lamar and all that stuff.
73:46They want… In a new offense, too. The house wants both teams at full strength.
73:51Yeah. It's a new offense, so he just might not have grasped this new offense, right?
73:56And the market may not know Atlanta. I mean, going back to last season even, with Penix, Bijon, and London on the
74:03field, over 500 snaps range, Falcons have been great EPA.
74:06Like equivalent of what? Elite offense, yeah. Yeah, success rate of the Rams last season, right?
74:11That's what the numbers… Again, 500 snaps, but still.
74:14So, it's not like the market really… You have to throw out the first two weeks of Atlanta offensively.
74:20So, you really don't really know how good this… I mean, I think there's upside in maybe the futures market of the Falcons.
74:28I mean, look, my favorite win total was under 7.5 with Atlanta.
74:32So, I'm completely pivoting because I was all about Tua and the defense I didn't think was good, even though I knew Bijon was awesome, obviously.
74:40But maybe they are going to be that unique with Stefanski calling the plays and maybe it's a complete makeover.
74:46And I think you just have to kind of be open-minded and trust your eyes as we go on early in the
74:53season as we sort of collect data points. I think, at least I am, as someone who was fading Atlanta early.
75:00Now, I'm like, okay, let's take inventory each week or within each game even.
75:05Yeah. I mean, I think Olbrecht is a good defensive coordinator.
75:08He's proven that. He's been awesome. And their defense is going to get healthier.
75:13They're going to get… He's been awesome. …some of these guys back.
75:17So, yeah, and their offense has a ton of talent.
75:20The Bucs are done. Yeah, they're plus 180-ish to win the division.
75:24So, it's Carolina is the favorite and then them.
75:27I like Atlanta. I think so, too. So, I'm just… It's not a bet I love.
75:32It's not one of my favorites. No, you're getting three and a half.
75:36I just think it's going to close three or less.
75:39So, I'll take three and a half whenever I think that in the NFL.
75:44But definitely a lot of uncertainty. And finally, Monday Night Football, we have a banger between the Bills and the Rams.
75:50The Rams are three-point favorites at DraftKings minus 105 total.
75:54Sky-high 54.5. Juice to the over. Doug, you like the Rams here.
75:57Yeah. I know Sharps love the three and a hook and all that.
76:02And you were just talking about three and a half in Sunday Night Football.
76:06I'm surprised this isn't three and a half already.
76:09A couple reasons. One is Josh Allen doesn't look 100%.
76:12Great. So, I don't know how healthy he is.
76:15Now, he's a machine and a warrior and all that stuff.
76:19So, he could very easily be just Iron Man and wear Teflon in this game.
76:23But the defense has its issues. And this is a road game.
76:27And the Rams, for all the – I was talking about the Niners schedule being very soft in terms of difficulty of travel.
76:35The Rams have had a pretty tough spot. Now, they did catch a break week two, DART getting hurt on the opening drive.
76:42But to go to Australia and be all jet-lagged and then home and then going at Denver, at Philly.
76:48Now they're back. I think this is going to be – they're going to be fresh, right?
76:54They're going to look as sharp as they did, I think, against the Giants.
76:58They did on that Monday night against New York.
77:01Obviously, it's a Monday night here. Puka is back.
77:04I know Stafford's shown his age at times. But Aaron Donald's trending towards practicing this week.
77:09And for what it's worth, East Coast teams playing West Coast teams, so East against West, in these primetime games, including the
77:16Super Bowl last year, it's now 11-0 to the West Coast team straight up and 10-0-1 ATS.
77:22And the one was a little lucky. That was the Patriots plus three.
77:26And they were winning the whole game and then blew it.
77:29But other than that, these East Coast games mid-season, like, it's late.
77:33I don't know. But I do like the Rams.
77:36I just think they've looked – I mean, look, they were up 16-0 in Denver.
77:41And then the pick six, which is part of football, but, you know, things like that.
77:46And then we know about the pass interference and everything.
77:49And I thought the Eagles, I mean, they didn't play great at all.
77:53No, they were out game. They were destroyed. They should have lost that game by like 20.
77:59They should have, absolutely. We're going to see the best version of think of Ally here with Puka.
78:05Yeah, I like the Rams here as well. I bet them – I think anything free or better is good.
78:11I hate – I like Moneyline. For what it's worth, I bet Moneyline.
78:15But, like, obviously we have to do spreads here.
78:18Yeah, I hate fading Josh Allen. But I don't think he's fully healthy.
78:22DJ Moore might not play, which condenses the offense.
78:25Rams limit explosives, can defend their run with light boxes.
78:28And, like, it's going to be good on good when the Bills have the ball.
78:33But they might not be fully healthy on offense.
78:36But it's good on bad when the Rams have the ball.
78:40Rams offense, now healthy with Puka back. They should be able to run on Buffalo.
78:44They should be able to pass on Buffalo. This Bills defense is atrocious.
78:49Bottom five in EPA and success rate. I don't think Ed Oliver is going to play.
78:54Maybe he will. But he, like, posted some cryptic thing that it's, like, about obstacles.
78:59And so – I think it's worth mentioning the special teams is horrendous for the Rams.
79:04Like, their kicker sting. Yes. Like, there is some concern there.
79:07Yes. It's bad. They hired the Browns special teams coordinator to fix things.
79:11And the Browns had, like, the second worst special teams last year behind the Rams.
79:16So the Rams special teams can always let you back in a game.
79:20But Oliver, who, like, leads – I believe he leads all defensive linemen in quick pressures.
79:26I don't think he's going to play. Sanders is hurt.
79:29Alford, their nickel is hurt. Benford, their outside corner is hurt.
79:32And their defense just in general is bad. So I think the Rams will be able to move the ball at will.
79:39With Allen not being 100%, potentially no DJ Moore.
79:42I think the Rams will get a couple of stops.
79:46And I think that this line, given the injuries – and with Allen not 100%, if he's not able to, like, scramble
79:53at will and run, it changes the complexion of this offense.
79:56And same with Moore potentially being out, like, just not – And if Donald plays and he blows up the middle, I mean, that changes things too.
80:05I mean, I think it's going to come down to, like, Josh Allen on third and short, fourth and short.
80:11And then the Rams not kicking because they have a bad kicker and going for it on fourth down in the red zone.
80:19I mean, that's really what it comes down to.
80:21Yeah, I think the Rams are a little undervalued here.
80:25So I think this should be three and a half.
80:28So I like the Rams as well. Turning good weekends into great weekends.
80:32It's time for the Moneyline Parlay. All right, let's get to our Moneyline Underdog Parlay presented by DraftKings.
80:38Doug, you are 4-0 this year in these. We hit a 6-1.
80:42We came so close with an overtime loss and another.
80:45But we are up on the year on these.
80:48The Bucs had life last week too, man. Yeah, they had the ball late.
80:52But they didn't deserve the win. Just a variance play there.
80:56I'm going to kick things off this week. Another variance play.
80:59I'm going to go with the Chargers. I don't know who's playing for the Chargers.
81:04Don't know. Don't know if they're going to have any offensive linemen.
81:08I don't know if McConkie's going to play. Their defense has injuries.
81:12The Broncos, they lost Pat Bryant. They might be down both their corners.
81:16Who knows? Complete variance game. The Broncos' defense obviously is not the same without Zerdin.
81:21I think this line is a little bit too high given all the injuries.
81:25The Chargers just might not field a functional offense.
81:28But I think there's a lot of variance in this game given the injury.
81:33So I'm going to go with the Chargers. Who are you going with?
81:37I agree. I've been more impressed with the Chargers the last two weeks than the first two weeks for what that's worth.
81:44So maybe. Yeah, and they played the Bills and the Seahawks on the road.
81:49Pretty. Right. And they could have quit down 21 or whatever it was.
81:5317 or whatever it was. 24. So I like the variance component because there's issues right now.
81:58The play calling in Denver. Like something's got to give.
82:01Yeah, that adds some more variance to it. So I think there's just a ton of variance in that game.
82:08So this was a weird week of dogs because there's some big ones like the Bucks who I want no part of.
82:15Or the Eagles. Right. And by the way, the sharp odds maker, SETI, they've just taken one-way action on Jags money and
82:22then also the game I gave earlier, the Texans.
82:25And so there's some ones you could do here and there.
82:28But I'm going to go back to fading the Lions.
82:32I think it's a tough scheduling spot for Detroit.
82:35I think there's some issues there with some injuries.
82:37I think Arizona's sort of come back to earth in terms of being not that good.
82:43We might have overreacted after week one beating the Chargers.
82:46But I don't know if Detroit is that – I mean, they've got issues, right?
82:51And then I know it's golf outdoors and cold weather versus – it's just not the same.
82:56But this is going to be indoors on turf, but it's not the same when they're not at home.
83:02So I think it's a tough scheduling spot. I also think Dan Campbell's an idiot.
83:07So when it comes down to it – and he's kicking – he could have kicked the field goal down 13 with
83:14all that time left, but he kept going for it.
83:17That doesn't help their chances, I don't think. Paris Johnson being out is bad.
83:22He's out for the year. But – The Detroit defense is horrendous.
83:26They can't stop anything. Anything. And even Collinsworth, who's so complimentary and tries to be glass half full with everything, he was calling it out.
83:34So with Brissette being a solid quarterback, I think they're going to come away with points almost every drive.
83:40I just – with McBride and everything. I mean, obviously that Giants game was weird on the road, but I think they're live here at home.
83:48All right. So our DraftKings Moneyline Underdog Parlay, we have the Cardinals and the Chargers.
83:53The West Coast flavor pays out plus 674 over at DraftKings.
83:56The crown is yours. All right. Teaser of the week.
84:00Always tease, tease, tease. We're going to go with the Texans.
84:03We already talked about them. Teased that from 7.5 to 1.5 in which should be a lower scoring game, very low total.
84:10And we'll go with the Jags, teasing them below a touchdown and field goal.
84:15The Eagles are a mess right now. They're trying to marry like Sirianni shotgun offense with Sean Mannion's under center offense, and it's so predictable.
84:23That's why they're giving up unblocked pressures left and right.
84:26Their offensive line now is a complete disaster. They trade Cam Juergens, who's been a disaster at guard.
84:32Trade him to the Ravens. I think that's a good trade because he's still, I think, a good center, and that's what the Ravens need.
84:40Now your offense up. You have Lane Johnson, who retires.
84:43So you've got Markel Bell at right tackle. Steen.
84:46Drew Kendall at center. Willie Lampkin at left guard.
84:49Like, are Goddard and Devontae Smith going to play?
84:52Saquon Barkley's banged up. They did get, like, Quinion Mitchell was at practice.
84:56Zach Baum was at practice. Maybe their defense is a little healthier.
85:00But this team is beat up. They have issues across the board.
85:04And this Jags team is healthy and playing very well.
85:07They know this travel spot. They've done it before.
85:10I don't think that the Eagles are taking the ideal approach with how they're traveling.
85:15There's issues all over with Philly. And they still have a brand new play caller.
85:19Like, when you... And it's not going well. Well, if anybody's played sports, you kind of just know talking to your coach if he knows what he's doing.
85:28And then they have no confidence. So when they go to these unusual circumstances with all these guys out and Lane Johnson
85:35retiring midweek, like, there's just no confidence in the meetings, I'm sure, that they have this new play.
85:41He's just never... He's not been there, done that.
85:44He's never been there before. So I just think that inhibits sort of growth within the week ahead of a game.
85:51Yeah, this Eagles offense is completely broke. Like, it's so predictable when they're under center.
85:56They never just drop back. Teams know what to do.
85:59They're not using play action. Lowest rate in the NFL.
86:02Hurts is holding the ball too long. The receivers, especially if you don't have Smith and Goddard, like, no one can get open.
86:09It's completely broken. Hurts still can't throw against zone.
86:12You're going to see a ton of zone from Jacksonville here.
86:16And Jacksonville is just much healthier. So I think they get the win in a place they're very familiar with.
86:22So we'll go with the Jags and the Texans in a little AFC South teaser.
86:27I think the Saints are a good option as well.
86:30Cowboys. Yeah. So I think those are four viable options.
86:34All right. Let's sum things up. Doug, for your favorite two picks, you are going, or first two picks of the contest, you're going with?
86:42Texans laying the points at Tennessee. So seven and a half.
86:45And then also Rams at home on Monday night, minus the three against the Bills.
86:50Evan already locked in the Saints, plus one and a half.
86:54And I'm going to go with the Steelers, minus two and a half.
86:58Talked about that at the top of the show.
87:01The Seahawks, juice minus two and a half. And the Packers, we'll call it plus two and a half.
87:07But shop around for a three. So we have our contest picks.
87:11Texans, Rams, Steelers, Seahawks, and Packers. And we're throwing in for the six-pack completion, Evan's favorite pick of the Saints.
87:17I like them all. This is one of my favorite cards we've done this year.
87:22So let's have a week. Thanks to Evan for joining.
87:25Thanks to our producers on the back end. Thanks to Doug, as always.

88:18Everything in between. Don't invite me to karaoke. I'm going to make it weird.
