Adonai Mitchell

PositiveValue56:35

Matt Kelley identifies Adonai Mitchell as a player he is significantly ahead of consensus on, noting that he prefers Mitchell over Matthew Golden due to ADP and perceived potential.

Insight page

Blake Corum

NegativeRole32:06

Matt Kelley discusses Blake Corum as a potential mid-to-late round 'goofball' pick, noting that while he is not a bell cow, there is talk of him potentially seeing 40-45% of the snaps.

Insight page

Braelon Allen

PositiveSleeper32:22

Matt Kelley identifies Braylon Allen as a 'goofball' pick he has vaulted in his personal draft cheat sheet. Kelley compares him to a version of Jordan Howard who can catch, noting he is a high-upside stash in case Breece Hall misses time.

Insight page

Breece Hall

NegativeInjury54:26

Matt Kelley expresses bullishness on Breece Hall's talent but remains cautious due to his health and lack of practice time, noting that the presence of capable backups like Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis complicates the projection math.

Insight page

Brian Thomas Jr.

NegativeProjection69:54

Matt Kelley finds it difficult to draft Brian Thomas Jr. due to a lack of positive camp news and concerns regarding his splits with Trevor Lawrence, preferring other receivers at his ADP.

Insight page

Brock Bowers

PositiveBreakout41:12

Matt Kelley describes Brock Bowers as a 'robot sent from heaven to play football,' indicating high expectations for his performance and impact on the Raiders' offense.

Insight page

Bucky Irving

NegativeUsage72:23

John Paulson expresses concern about Bucky Irving's role, citing the signing of Rodriguez and the coaching history with Liam Cohen, suggesting it will not be a bell-cow situation.

Insight page

Cam Ward

NegativeProjection77:06

John Paulson notes that reports coming out of camp regarding Cam Ward have been consistently negative, which is a significant concern for the passing offense's viability.

Insight page

Carnell Tate

NegativeProjection76:40

Matt Kelley and John Paulson advise moving down Carnell Tate in drafts due to persistent negative reports regarding Cam Ward's performance in training camp.

Insight page

Chris Godwin

PositiveValue70:26

Matt Kelley and John Paulson are both high on Chris Godwin, noting he is undervalued in the 8th round. They highlight his confirmed slot role and a 'quiet camp' as positive indicators for his season.

Insight page

Christian McCaffrey

PositiveProjection3:56

John Paulsen briefly mentions that Christian McCaffrey is expected to be even better this season.

Insight page

D.J. Moore

NegativeProjection49:09

Matt Kelley ranks DJ Moore as WR27, significantly lower than his ADP of 22, citing concerns that Moore may be past his prime and noting that he prefers players like Christian Watson and Jameson Williams over him.

Insight page

D'Andre Swift

PositiveUsage43:07

Matt Kelley highlights DeAndre Swift as a workhorse running back in a top offense, noting that Kyle Monongai's knee injury cements Swift's touch floor. Kelley views him as a strong RB2 target at the end of the fourth round.

Insight page

Dallas Goedert

PositiveValue66:44

John Paulson views Dallas Goedert as a nice value in the 10th-11th round, noting he finished as TE3 last year and could see increased touchdown upside with AJ Brown gone, despite durability concerns.

Insight page

Dalton Schultz

PositiveValue65:46

Matt Kelley and John Paulson agree that Dalton Schultz is a target, with Paulson noting Schultz had 80 catches last year and is a solid option when punting the tight end position.

Insight page

De'Von Achane

PositiveUsage22:50

Matt Kelley argues that Devon Achan is a proven asset who is being used like Christian McCaffrey, dismissing concerns about his team environment. Kelley notes that Achan is a target magnet in a transparent offense and should be drafted confidently, even if he doesn't reach the unrealistic 40-touch projections, as he has top-12 PPR upside.

Insight page
NegativeValue47:04

Matt Kelley notes that De'Von Achane and DeAndre Swift are being drafted close together in ADP (42 vs 45). Kelley acknowledges the uncertainty surrounding Achane's passing-down role due to Alvin Kamara's presence and injury status.

Insight page

Eli Stowers

NegativeDepth Chart67:35

Matt Kelley expresses skepticism about Eli Stowers as a rookie, noting he is struggling to overtake Grant Calcaterra and faces a difficult transition to the NFL as a 'tweener' tight end.

Insight page

Emeka Egbuka

NegativeValue25:01

John Paulsen drafted Emeka Egbuka at the 4/5 turn, suggesting he is being drafted too early on average and is better suited for that range.

Insight page

Garrett Wilson

PositiveValue36:17

Matt Kelley is very high on Garrett Wilson, noting he is available in the fourth round and represents significant value. Kelley highlights that Wilson is a talented route runner now paired with a competent quarterback in Geno Smith and an offense designed by Frank Reich that prioritizes getting the ball to star receivers.

Insight page
PositiveProjection41:50

Matt Kelley notes that reports of Garrett Wilson desiring a simpler offense under Frank Reich, combined with Reich's scheme and energy, support a potential WR1 season for Wilson; Kelley suggests the market may not be high enough on him.

Insight page
PositiveProjection79:30

Matt Kelley highlights positive sentiment from Garrett Wilson regarding the offense Frank Reich is building, with Wilson expressing excitement about the scheme.

Insight page

Geno Smith

PositiveProjection34:06

Matt Kelley is bullish on Geno Smith, arguing that he is a stabilizing force who has been unfairly maligned by the fantasy community. Kelley believes Smith is an upgrade for the offense and will benefit from a better talent configuration, making him a strong target in Superflex formats.

Insight page

Jase McClellan

PositiveValue75:14

Matt Kelley and John Paulson agree that Jase McClellan is a preferred target over Bucky Irving for those seeking upside, noting his superior draft capital and potential for a 60-65% touch share.

Insight page

Jeremiyah Love

NegativeInjury5:42

Jeremiah Love suffered a high ankle sprain that will likely keep him from being 100% for many weeks. John Paulsen is low on him due to the injury, the Cardinals' poor team outlook, and the presence of Tyler Algier.

Insight page
NegativeBust21:07

Matt Kelley views Jeremiah Love as an unnecessary risk in fantasy drafts, citing a high ankle sprain that he expects to be a hindrance through October or November. Kelley explicitly advises against drafting Love compared to other options.

Insight page

Josh Downs

NegativeBreakout30:20

John Paulsen is still interested in Josh Downs but has tempered his breakout expectations following the Keenan Allen signing, as they occupy similar areas of the field.

Insight page

Kayshon Boutte

PositiveSleeper60:00

Matt Kelley suggests Kayshon Boutte is a viable sleeper who could replace the production expected from Jaden Higgins in the Texans' offense, noting that he is a smart late-round target.

Insight page

Keenan Allen

NegativeUsage30:35

John Paulsen acknowledges Keenan Allen's age (34) and injury history but notes his consistent target volume (122 targets in back-to-back seasons) makes him a threat to other receivers' ceilings.

Insight page

Marvin Harrison Jr.

NegativeBust20:58

John Paulsen is out on Marvin Harrison Jr., comparing his situation to historical busts like Charles Rogers and stating he needs to see consistent production in games before drafting him.

Insight page

Matthew Golden

NegativeProjection58:50

Matt Kelley expresses skepticism regarding Matthew Golden, noting a lack of evidence that he can perform at the NFL level and preferring other receivers like Adonai Mitchell at their respective costs.

Insight page

Michael Wilson

PositiveValue15:50

John Paulsen identifies Michael Wilson as a value pick on the Cardinals, suggesting he is currently the better receiver than Marvin Harrison Jr.

Insight page

Mike Evans

NegativeInjury1:44

John Paulsen suggests that Mike Evans is inherently injury-prone, implying that his risk of lower-body injury exists regardless of external environmental factors like the 49ers' practice facility location.

Insight page
NegativeInjury50:41

Matt Kelley advises treating Mike Evans as a 'stay away' due to recurring lower-body injuries and age-related decline, noting that he has moved Evans down his cheat sheet to avoid the aggravation of injury-prone players.

Insight page

Nico Collins

NegativeProjection62:55

Matt Kelley notes that despite his previous hesitation, the injury situation in Houston makes Nico Collins a necessary draft target, though he warns the offense may lean toward 'smash mouth' football rather than being prolific.

Insight page
PositiveValue64:55

Matt Kelley notes that after recent injury news, he is now forced to draft Nico Collins, acknowledging that while the Houston offense will be a 'smash mouth' unit, the target volume will be there.

Insight page

Parker Washington

PositiveRole69:06

Matt Kelley admits to being 'over his skis' on Parker Washington, but is bullish on the narrative that Washington appears to be the Jaguars' WR1, citing high praise for his work ethic.

Insight page

Rhamondre Stevenson

PositiveUsage27:37

John Paulsen views Rhamondre Stevenson as a solid player with good advanced stats who will command the majority of the backfield work over Travion Henderson.

Insight page

Travis Etienne

NegativeValue45:52

Matt Kelley compares Travis Etienne to DeAndre Swift, noting they are similar players, but expresses skepticism regarding the consensus projection that Trevor Lawrence will lead a breakout offense in Jacksonville compared to the more certain outlook for Caleb Williams in Chicago.

Insight page

Trey McBride

NegativeBust15:54

John Paulsen has Trey McBride on his 'do not draft' list, arguing that the Cardinals' limited touchdown potential and target competition from Marvin Harrison Jr., Michael Wilson, and Jeremiah Love will squeeze out his production.

0:00This is the Mind of Mansion program. I'm here with John Paulsen.
0:04This is one of my favorite shows of the year, certainly a fan favorite, an audience favorite.
0:09The cooler of the Mind of Mansion, of the Podfather is here with me, John Paulsen.
0:14We have a lot of news to cover. Some of it matters, some of it doesn't.
0:19Let's go, John. Let's go. Let's talk about some fantasy football.
0:23Have you seen enough injuries yet? John Paulsen Thanks for having me, Matt.
0:27We go way back. We go back to Jeff Janus.
0:30So this is... John Paulsen And Devontae Adams. We're going to talk about Devontae Adams today.
0:35John Paulsen He's still kicking it. John Paulsen Apparently really well.
0:39John Paulsen A lot of injuries, but I mean, that's pretty much, I wouldn't say every August, but most Augusts.
0:45These guys, you know, get off the off season, come into camp and next thing you know, we got torn ACLs, hamstrings.
0:52We got the 49ers still practicing next to a major electrical field.
0:56John Paulsen Hi there! John Paulsen We're still, I mean, we're still doing it.
1:00John Paulsen We're going to... John Paulsen It's in the show notes.
1:04I won't... John Paulsen Of course, we're going to talk about Mike Evans and Stribbling and we're going to get into it, but it's down.
1:12It was down to five minutes, two minutes, whatever the countdown was to electrical substation.
1:16If you took the under, you won. John Paulsen Did you see the 49ers owner was caught up in some trailer park prostitution ring or something?
1:25Or did I get thrown into a clickbait? John Paulsen No, no, that happened.
1:29Jed York's mugshot is online. John Paulsen Yeah. John Paulsen And the charge was very nebulous and weird.
1:35And then when you actually dig into the story, you're like, what?
1:39John Paulsen $140. John Paulsen $140. John Paulsen $140.
1:41John Paulsen Yeah. John Paulsen You're right. That could delay any change.
1:45John Paulsen I mean, priorities are not correct. John Paulsen Oh, they're never...
1:49Listen, you know, you live in California. Real estate prices are so expensive up there.
1:54The idea they're just going to buy a field down the street, it's not going to happen.
1:59So I think they're stuck there. And there was a whole series of podcasts that I've listened to.
2:05Pablo Torre finds out, did a whole... Once it's...
2:08John Paulsen Once it made Pablo Torre finds out, I was like, okay, okay, we're right there with Kawhi Leonard.
2:14Let's do this. We're at that level. I don't feel nearly as bad about...
2:19I was there at the Super Bowl. I went to the electric substation.
2:23I filed a report from outside the electric substation.
2:26It is crazy how close it is. I don't know if it matters.
2:30These guys are injury prone anyway. It's not like Mike Evans wasn't going to have a lower body injury this year.
2:36It's not like they got Christian McCaffrey, who's not going to be a little bit better.
2:41And then I'm going to be a little bit better.
2:45And then I'm going to be a little bit better.
2:48And then I'm going to be a little bit better.
2:51And then I'm going to be a little bit better.
2:54And then I'm going to be a little bit better.
2:57John Paulsen Who was this rock. So there's... Proving cause and effect.
3:01Impossible in this situation. But what a narrative. One of many narratives.
3:05This has been one of my favorite off seasons.
3:08Other than the injuries. The injuries have been a real bummer.
3:11We've been spoiled in a couple of recent years of lower than average injuries during the offseason.
3:16Now this is back to... This is normal. This is Cam Akers popping in Achilles.
3:21This is J.K. Dobbins tearing in ACL. These are things that have been happening every offseason for years and years.
3:27And then it just didn't happen. Right? We just had a couple of years where it's like, I guess the season's starting and everyone's good.
3:35Okay, I guess we're good. Not the case anymore.
3:38And so certainly we are... We have to talk about, I think...
3:42Ashton Gentry and Jeremiah Love. These guys are very similar.
3:45These were premium top picks in the NFL draft.
3:48They both have very similar skill sets. Both have similar NFL lifetime value projections on the player profiler dynasty rankings.
3:54And they just happen to be the two featured running backs that got hurt in spring training.
4:00And the injuries are the same but different. It's the same area of the leg.
4:04The ankle. It appears that Gentry has more of a low ankle, maybe mid ankle.
4:09Not really sure. I wish we had a diagram and they could pinpoint the exact location on the ankle for us.
4:16And I saw with my own eyes the high ankle sprain that Jeremiah Love suffered.
4:20So I guess my first question is with Jeremiah Love, the reports have been leaking out that, oh, he's on the good side of bad.
4:28So what are you doing with Gentry? Yeah, he either has the highest low ankle sprain or the lowest high ankle sprain.
4:35You know, I love it when they come out and they're like, well, it's not a high ankle sprain, but it's considered mid or low.
4:43Come on, guys. So I think you're looking at these two players as pretty, you said they're similar, which I think was
4:50a good, good student observation there, because I think they should be ranked fairly similarly right now, given they're both are kind of question marks for week one.
4:59It does appear that Gentry seems to be with that sort of phrasing.
5:03It seems to be slightly better odds to play week one.
5:07But being they're both really good players, both play for kind of bad teams.
5:11The Raiders did invest a lot in the offensive line.
5:14They were one of the biggest spenders when I did my free agency draft capital analysis this offseason.
5:20The Raiders should see a turnaround with their offensive line and big improvement.
5:24So that will that will help Gentry and Jeremiah Love.
5:27I mean, he comes in as one of the best prospects we've had.
5:31And if you look at that backfield, they've you know, it looks like James Conner might be out.
5:37Trey Benson's already out. So like it's not like those guys are going to come in and take his lunch money.
5:44We just got Tyler Algier to deal with. And I think Love before his injury was running well ahead of him.
5:50So, yeah, I like him in like the early to mid third round.
5:54And I mean, if you just look at the seven running backs who were drafted inside the top 10, they averaged since 2012, 2010.
6:02And this is this is actually including CJ Spiller.
6:05So 273 touches, 1378 total yards and 9.9 touchdowns for 15.9 PPR fantasy points per game.
6:10Those are low end RB1 numbers. So I think the, you know, third round ADP is more than fair.
6:16Can't do it. Can't do it. Jeremiah Love third round.
6:19Can't do it. Won't do it. Can't do it.
6:22That's not where we have him ranked. I have my own personal cheat sheet up on on the site in the draft kit.
6:29You can get my personal cheat sheet and you can see it's not necessarily that I would take Love any lower than
6:36we have him because we already much were like around lower than consensus on Jeremiah Love for several reasons.
6:42Not just that he's not going to be 100 percent for weeks.
6:46It's that I really like Algier as well. And so it's there's a lot going on here in the cheat sheet.
6:52My personal cheat sheet. I have love about where player profiler is and player profiler is me.
6:58So it's a little meta there. But with Algear, I've put him in a place that's just irrationally high because I want him.
7:05I want him. I love the skill set. He got paid.
7:08We're talking about 10 plus million dollars. That's starting money for running back in the NFL.
7:14He can do it all. He's very trusted. Like you don't need any more than just Jeremiah Love and Tyler Algear.
7:20And when B. John Robinson, who is like a bigger version of Gentry and Love was a rookie, Tyler Algear was very much usable in fantasy football.
7:29And B. John Robinson was like a top five or even top 10 fantasy running back that year.
7:34And that was on a Falcons team with a better offensive line than what the Cardinals have and just a better overall team.
7:42So with Jeremiah Love, I was low on him anyway because I'm low on the Cardinals.
7:47I hate the Cardinals. I hate them. I mean, I don't mind the franchise.
7:51I could take or leave the franchise. I mean, I would go to a game if I'm sure it's I'm sure the
7:58people that run the stadium and the team are fine people.
8:02I love the players. These are gladiators that are destroying their brain matter for our entertainment.
8:07Of course, I appreciate and love the players. Just hate this team for fantasy football.
8:11I want to run and hide from most premium fantasy draft capital players on the bottom five teams.
8:17There's a few exceptions, which we'll talk about. There's a hand, especially this one guy.
8:22De'Von Achane. We'll talk about it. We'll talk about it.
8:25Otherwise, you're telling me I get to have a rotational rookie back on perhaps the worst team in the NFL with nothing
8:32around him to support him in any way. And the timeline from which he is not going to be back, but 100%
8:39what he was, what we saw in college by the time he gets there is going to be many, many weeks from
8:46now because it is a high ankle sprain that he suffered for sure.
8:50Carson Beck could be the quarterback. This whole thing is it's just a toilet that is that is flushing the wrong direction.
8:57And it's like it's a toilet in South America.
9:00That's what it is. That's what Arizona might as well be in a different hemisphere from where other teams are playing.
9:06There's going to be games where they're going to lose 41 three.
9:10Think of who they're playing every week. They're playing Miles Garrett.
9:13They're playing Devin Witherspoon. They're playing all the best defenders in the league with the most money.
9:19It's just it's an impossible situation for Arizona. It's going to be a catastrophe.
9:23They are probably I would say they're going to get Arch Manning, but now Arch Manning saying he's going to stay in school for another year.
9:31So whoever is the whoever is the top quarterback is probably going to go to Arizona.
9:37And for all these reasons, I don't want the hassle.
9:40I don't want it. I have a lot of other choices at running back this year.
9:45I don't need Jeremiah Love. I don't need players on this team unless we're talking about Michael Wilson.
9:50Many, many rounds later, someone who is an actual value.
9:54If you're on Arizona and this goes for Trey McBride and it's also on my cheat sheet.
9:59He's not draftable. He's on my do not draft list.
10:02I'm not sorry. So what's the knock against Trey McBride?
10:05Like just not enough touchdowns? Not enough touchdowns. I mean, they weren't good last year, were they?
10:11No, they weren't good last year. And he was he was amazing.
10:14He was amazing. But apparently I thought they had Jeremiah Love and then now they're going to be throwing some of those short intermediate passes to Jeremiah Love.
10:23We can't have it all. We could you could make a decision.
10:27Can't have it all. There's not going to be enough.
10:30You know, you you are on the show for many reasons.
10:34One, the number one reason is that you're a fantastic fantasy football mind and that you are the best at checking my enthusiasm in all directions.
10:42But also that you understand how projection math works, that certain teams can only score so many touchdowns.
10:48Certain teams are only going to have so many pass attempts and those pass attempts are only going to be so catchable.
10:55And Trey McBride is going to be squeezed out.
10:57We're going to be looking back at this career year he had and been like that.
11:02That was peak Trey McBride and that was great.
11:05But Marvin Harrison Jr. exists and he is going to get the ball.
11:09Michael Wilson, pretty good player. He's going to get the ball.
11:13Jeremiah Love is eventually going to be healthy and he's eventually in the second half going to be 100 percent again.
11:19And they're going to throw a lot of passes to him, wheel routes and little seams and little check downs that maybe
11:26those were going to Trey McBride in the past.
11:29And unless you're unless one of these guys gets hurt and is out for the year, one of those four main receiving options.
11:37I just don't know how I don't know how I don't like to use the word too many miles to feed.
11:43I don't like it's a stupid cliche. I don't like it.
11:47There's never too many miles to feed ever except now, except in this particular situation, I would say there's too many miles to feed.
11:54There's 20 miles to feed. Not because they can't be fed, because certainly if you have a lot of miles in Detroit, there's plenty of food, right?
12:03There's a buffet in Dallas. There's a buffet. There's plenty of places with a target buffet.
12:08But it is bleak in Arizona. So this is I mean, we are on rations here in Arizona and then you're going
12:15to go to Carson Beck at some point. Right.
12:18That's when there's too many miles to feed in that particular scenario.
12:21Yes, there's too many miles to feed in Arizona.
12:24I said it. It's the first time in history that I do believe there's too many miles to feed in Arizona right now.
12:31I think we agree. Michael Wilson's a value. So you got to be careful, John.
12:36Sounds like you might be drafting too many Cardinals.
12:39You don't want to be the guy that's drafting too many Cardinals.
12:43Do you? Well, I'm not actively targeting Jeremiah Love.
12:46I just think his ADP is fair given profile.
12:49Try to help. Right. I think is a fine, you know, tight end one, tight end two off the board.
12:55Lots of targets. Lots of targets. I'm out on Harrison.
12:58Thank you. Thank you for saying that. Explain to the audience, if you don't mind, please.
13:03Why are you out on Harrison? Well, I'm going to wait and see if he's actually the player we thought he was coming out of college.
13:11I need to now see it. Like I projected him very high as a rookie, you know, everything pointed to a good
13:18rookie season or a great rookie season. Disappointing. Disappointing second season as well.
13:22It just appears that Michael Wilson is the better receiver right now.
13:26Now, there has been some good buzz in camp or some good coach speak with Harrison.
13:31But I'm not I'm just not going to draft him until I see it in games consistently.
13:37I get a spoiler alert for you, John. You're not going to see it.
13:41It would be fun to see it. I agree that it would be great.
13:45He's he was he's the second coming, but he's not.
13:49He was, but he's not. And it's just this is what a bust looks like.
13:53Right. I I'm old enough to remember some of the great busts in NFL history.
13:58And this is what they look like. I remember the Lions, actually.
14:02The Lions, one of the reasons they were able to turn around their franchise is they stopped drafting bust wide receivers in the top five.
14:10That was the starting point. They got rid of Matt Mellon and they stopped drafting Charles Rogers in the top five.
14:16Right. This is we are looking at a Charles Rogers situation.
14:20It's possible. I know the busts happen less because NFL evaluators are better.
14:24They're using more metrics like player profilers metrics. They are in use by NFL front offices, but they're not bust free.
14:30And this is what a bust looks like. It's exactly what a bust looks like.
14:35So if you're looking at the draft board, is there a player that's going off the board before Harrison that you think looks like a total bust?
14:44And it's just never going to be anything. And people are deluded like they are with Harrison.
14:49Or is he the first one that's like jumping out at you?
14:53Like people are just they're just hallucinating. I'm just scrolling down until I see until I see Harrison.
14:59Why did you see the 31? It's awesome. Okay.
15:01I drafted a Mecca Buka at the four or five turn.
15:05I just think he had been at the three, four turn.
15:08It was really aggressive with Chris Godwin there. So I wouldn't, I'm not calling him a bust, but I think he's being drafted too early on average.
15:17And I think he's more of a four or five turn guy for me.
15:21But nobody is jumping out as like, I am completely off that person except for Travion Henderson due to the, not that he's bad.
15:29I mean, he's really bad at pass protection, like really bad.
15:32His, his past pro grade PFF was three out of a hundred.
15:36Well, you know that it's possible he could be a bust.
15:40I mean, he, he was good with Stevenson out last year.
15:43Very good. So I don't know. I mean, Sony Michelle was a bust, right?
15:48Would you consider Sony Michelle a bust in fantasy or in just real life in general, just in all things.
15:54I think Sony Michelle was a bust based, especially based on where he was drafted.
15:59I don't, I have nothing against Sony Michelle. I know these are similar players.
16:03NFL draft, similar skillsets. Certainly Henderson's more explosive. But I was told that Sony Michelle was basically Henderson coming out.
16:09And no. So it's also possible that Henderson is a bust too, that he's just a bust.
16:15I'm not going that far. I mean, he did average 5.1 yards per carry last year.
16:20And that's pretty good. I mean, yards per carry is a donkey stat, right?
16:24It is a donkey stat. It's just possible. These things are, I'm not saying I like, I'm a Patriots fan.
16:30So I'm not even, I'm not even the one to ask about.
16:34I want him to do really well. I'm not, I'm not saying he's a bust.
16:39I'm saying you're, you might be saying. I'm saying I'm not drafting him in the fifth round ahead of Ramondre Stevenson due to the makeup.
16:47Like this is very pragmatic. Just this is what's happening in the backfield and he can't pass protect.
16:53So he's not going to play as much as Ramondre Stevenson is going to play.
16:57Ramondre Stevenson's pretty good. His advanced stats are all really good.
17:01At the same time, you know, Travion Henderson has RB1 potential because of what he did to me, what he did last year with Ramondre out.
17:09I mean, two games with 140 plus yards rushing.
17:12He had three games with 28 fancy points or more with Ramondre out.
17:16So like there's, there's upside there. It's just, I'm not going to draft him in the fifth round when he's going to
17:23get 10 touches per game with Ramondre healthy. Yeah.
17:26I mean, I'm always just going to fall back on this.
17:29Just give me a guy like Tyler Algier. You want to go where you want serious upside.
17:35You get Marshawn Lloyd, but there's plenty of guys later where you can just be drafting in the fifth round.
17:41Players that are really good that we know are going to get lots of opportunities and you're not chasing a wispy upside play.
17:48Right. This is, this is a full circle moment for me because I play fantasy much more like you now than I did five years ago.
17:56I love having you on because in the past we have you on at the end of August so that you can set me straight.
18:04I've been flying off in all these directions with all these young players and you're bringing it back here.
18:10Now today in 2026, I'm with you on all.
18:13I'm, I'm sure that I'm with you on most of these guys.
18:17Like I could, I, I mean, we haven't talked about it.
18:20I can bet you like Josh downs. I liked him more before the Keenan Allen signing, but I, he's a really good route runner.
18:28I've been kind of waiting. It's like waiting on Guffman.
18:31Like I've been waiting for this breakout to happen and it hasn't happened.
18:35I'm still interested, but less interested because Keenan Allen is a known target earner and works the same areas of the field.
18:42However, it does appear that Josh downs will play some outside, but I do think this limits the Josh downs breakout talk a little bit.
18:50I'd rather have like a Jaden Reed. And we're back and we're back to the old dynamic where I thought I was
18:57going to grab boring target earner in the right situation.
19:00I was going to pull that apple off the tree, hand it to you.
19:05And we were going to, you know, celebrate and chop, chop it up, you know?
19:09And then you went Keenan Allen on me. So as always, I think the goalposts are here with, you know, how, and
19:16then you're like, no, no, no, I'm worried about Keenan Allen.
19:20And I'm like, okay, I'm still right. I'm still, I'm still to the, whatever it is.
19:25I'm still ahead of you in terms of my ability to be irrationally exuberant about players.
19:30And you're, and you still have the edge on me.
19:33It's been proven just now you have the edge on me in terms of just being a reasonable, rational person who is
19:40just going to see this thing clinically. And you're more worried about Keenan Allen than I am.
19:45Cause I'm just like that guy. I mean, you can't, you can't get me off Josh Downs with Keenan Allen.
19:52I know they are both inside players, but what do we know?
19:55Please. No, we're going to think of this. Like remember that year Keenan Allen was on the Colts.
20:01Remember Keenan Allen was a cult. Oh yeah. I feel like a lot of guys like Andre Johnson.
20:07They've had this. Yeah. Remember he was a Randy Moss.
20:10He was on the Titans. Wasn't he? I kind of feels like, but I don't have any evidence to back.
20:16Cause of course guys can always come out at like Steve Smith was great at age 36.
20:22I don't know where after a ruptured Achilles, very surprisingly, it can happen.
20:26It can surprise me. But on this case, I was like, okay, we're not, we can't adjust too much here with this Keenan Allen.
20:33Come on. I didn't adjust too much. I just think that the ceiling is a little bit lower now.
20:39I mean, Keenan did sort of submarine or contributed to submarining, torpedoing, lad McConkie's second season.
20:44So that's the worry. But he is, you're right.
20:47He's 34. So he's still, you know, 81 receptions last year.
20:51I know. I saw that. The year before, 700 yards in both seasons.
20:55He's just a, he, 122 targets back-to-back seasons at age 32 and 33.
20:59Like it's just a, you know, targets are somewhat finite.
21:02So. We've established that, especially on the teams that are say bottom five, but also bottom 10.
21:07Colts are bottom 10. Cardinals are bottom five. That's when you have to start doing a lot more target math with teams like that.
21:15So I would say that even though Gentie and Jeremiah Love are similar players, similar profiles, Ash and Gentie does not have a high ankle sprain.
21:23We think maybe, but it did happen later in the, in the preseason schedule, unfortunately, but he's in a better situation.
21:30There is less. I can't believe it. I'm going to do it again.
21:34Am I doing it again? Oh no. There's less mouse to feed.
21:38Wow. I can't believe it. It's two in one day.
21:41Twice. Oh, this is bad. You said it was a stupid, stupid phrase.
21:45You almost caught yourself. You almost stopped yourself. I can't stop.
21:48I can't stop it. I can't stop it. Now that I have the theory that you can use the term when the team is bad.
21:56Oh, I got the theory. So I I'm drafting Gentie a full round or two ahead of, of Jeremiah Love.
22:03I'm still team Gentie. But I would like a little more information about whether he's going to play.
22:08I think that with Gentie, he's going to be back to a hundred percent by say week three.
22:14Whereas Jeremiah Love, I think it's going to be end of October, November when it's no longer a hindrance.
22:20I just think they're two different injuries. The lower ankle versus the high ankle.
22:24I'm I've made a call. Okay. Podfather MD has made the call on this.
22:29And I like the situation a lot better for Gentie though.
22:32It's not like the Raiders are going to be a good team this year.
22:37It's like they don't play the Broncos twice and the Chargers twice.
22:41It's just for some reason, and I'm probably guilty of this too.
22:44I have Gentie in a different class of concern with his team than I do a lot of other players.
22:51It's weird. Like for take, take Devon H and for example, a lot of other analysts are just like me where they're
22:58like arbitrarily saying, well, Gentie is going to be fine because they drafted Mendoza and they've made all these upgrades.
23:04And this team is going to be a lot better.
23:07The offense will be a lot better than it was last year, but that's not saying that's like, what are you saying?
23:14Okay. So the worst is a little bit better than the worst.
23:18Now what's the, what? I mean, okay. You're, you're now the, the, you're, you're now a special teamer and you were on the practice squad.
23:26Like that's not a big deal, right? A-chan on the other hand, right?
23:30Is viewed as a stay away by many fantasy analysts, especially those on social media because of his team.
23:36Again, Jeremiah Love going to be fine. Don't worry about it.
23:39Draft him. Ashton Gentie, no concerns, right? Yeah. Maybe first couple of weeks, wait and see.
23:44But Devon H and though, you can't draft this guy.
23:47I mean, he's on the dolphins, but to me, he's more proven than those guys.
23:52And there's even less, there's even less, there's even less, John.
23:56There's less. Mouths? Are you looking, are you looking for that word?
23:59Holes to put food in on people in Miami.
24:02I feel like with H and I feel like I've seen enough and I know this is like one of the most transparent offenses in the league.
24:11We know exactly what they're going to do. It's going to be the H and show.
24:16It's not going to be the Gentie show in Las Vegas.
24:19It's going to be the Bowers show and it's going to be the Mendoza show and it's going to be the Gentie show.
24:27Maybe it might even be a little bit of Mike Washington show.
24:30Well, Mike Washington Jr. Right? Like a little show on there.
24:34I like that show. That's a good show. He's certainly vaulted in the rankings.
24:38Now there's fragility around Ash and Gentie's health. But I've been a little bewildered how ahead of consensus, especially in best ball
24:45where we're like five spots ahead and five spots ahead inside the top 25 is that's a big gap where we're here
24:52and consensus is there on H and I'm like, I'm not moving him.
24:56Last time I checked, he's actually healthy. Every time I look around like Kenneth Walker, now it's a foot concern.
25:03All H and has been is a sports car.
25:05And as far as I can tell, he's been tuned up and he's ready to rock, ready to roll.
25:11Yeah. They're talking about 40 touches a game for him.
25:15Obviously that's not going to happen and he's not going to hold up to that.
25:19But, you know, if you're getting consistently getting 20, 25 touches a game, I always talk about this in our running back article after the rankings are released.
25:28You got to follow the touches. And I don't really care about the win total too much.
25:34I just did some work on it. And if you are a pass catching back, you can deliver a top 12, top 10 season on a bad team.
25:42And it's not like, I mean, their win total is 4.5 and the Raiders are 5.5.
25:47Who is the fringiest, who is the fringiest target driven top 12 fantasy running back of all time in PPR?
25:54Would that be Chris Thompson? I don't understand the question.
25:57The point is in PPR leagues, as long as you're catching a lot of footballs, you're going to produce.
26:03You're going to be fine or awesome. You're either going to be fine or awesome.
26:08Danny Woodhead was the name that was, as I was trying to understand your question.
26:12Well, just in terms of guys coming out of nowhere, mid to late round picks, were never going to be bell cow backs.
26:20But because they were target magnets on teams that did not have a lot of great target options, Theo Riddick is another one.
26:27Danny Woodhead and Chris Thompson. We're just bragging here.
26:30We're just showing off at this point that we know these players, that these are players from 10 years ago.
26:36And we almost know the rankings from 10 years ago, the PPR output from 10 years ago.
26:41I know there's a leader, but we have a leaderboard section now in the fantasy section of player profile where you can go back and see all this.
26:50But we're rattling this stuff off. That's how good we are at this.
26:54It's amazing. But he's not Chris Thompson. He's not theoretic.
26:58He's being used like Christian McCaffrey. And Christian McCaffrey has put up huge seasons, top five, top three seasons, number one overall seasons on teams like the Panthers.
27:06So you need to get the first few rounds right.
27:10I mean, at this point, we're talking about late August.
27:13I'm having John Paulson on the show. We're not going to spend a lot of time talking about fringe players.
27:19We want to get the first five to 10 rounds right, especially the first five rounds.
27:24And that means not taking a lot of unnecessary chances.
27:27And for me, Jeremiah loves one of those. Maybe not for you, but Jeremiah loves certainly one of those unnecessary chances.
27:34Trevion Henderson for you, unnecessary chance. I'm with you, right?
27:37So what do we do in this situation? What do we do with Devon H yet?
27:42Because I'm not moving him down just because there's a bunch of people on Twitter that are worried.
27:48What do I care? No, I was thrilled to get him in the middle of the second round.
27:53I paired him with CMC. No! So from the seventh spot, I think it was a big gorilla over at FFPC.
28:00I was happy about that. CMC? The FFPC has a lot of people that are more like us, right?
28:06Typically, you're drafting in high stakes. There's going to be people taking less chances on sexy players.
28:11Typically, what I've seen is a little bit more of a tendency to draft more meat and potatoes when there's a lot of money at stake.
28:20But it is a weird thing. I don't know if you ever noticed this in high stakes.
28:25There's a weird inflection point where when the stakes get really high, when these are like $10,000.
28:30Have you seen some of the ADPs in these $10,000 leagues?
28:34There's some wild drafting that goes on. It's a weird thing where at a certain level, like a $350 league, people are very serious.
28:41It's like there's a lot of money at stake here, potentially $1,000.
28:45But as soon as it becomes silly money, people lose their minds in fantasy.
28:50It's bizarre. My theory on that is that $350,000, even a main event, $2,200, that's doable money for normal people if they
28:57want to play in a big stakes tournament. That's what it is.
29:00But if you're at $10,000, then you have too much money probably.
29:04Those are people that are just showing off I'm in the league.
29:08Yeah. If you're going to spend $10,000 on a fantasy league, it's meaningless to you, the money, clearly.
29:14So you're just going to have some wild takes.
29:16Yeah. I mean, that's the thing. If you could create a syndicate where that would be one of the – if you
29:23love drafting, that would be one of the best things to do, would be to grab the four-for-four rankings, the player profiler
29:30rankings, a couple smart, level-headed guys, create a syndicate, and go join a $10,000 league, and you will make a lot of money.
29:38You'll crush. You'll crush. And this audience is so smart.
29:41I'm looking at Tariq Cohen. I'm looking at Naheem Hines.
29:44I'm looking at James White in the chat. Look at all these guys.
29:48James White was the best example because James White was never a workhorse.
29:52There was always a LeGarrette Blunt. There was always someone else there with James White.
29:57But there's an interesting name in here. And this is not – this is definitely not Chris Thompson.
30:03This is not what we're talking about. This is Devon Achan, Brian Westbrook.
30:07Someone named Brian Westbrook. And that's not the fringe.
30:10That's what happens when you have an undersized running back that has proven that he can handle a full workload and the coaches trust him and it's on.
30:18I love that. That's one of the first times you just – we've never been in this kind of lockstep before.
30:25I love this. But still, though, you're still – I've been outflanked by reason and rationale by you.
30:31You're still outflanking me. But at least we're almost in lockstep, though you are outflanking me.
30:36How's that? That's the formation that we're running in.
30:39That's reasonable. Pick one. Robust RB or zero RB?
30:41Would you describe robust RB as it has to be three early running backs?
30:46Or is it just starting with two? Or what's your definition there?
30:50My definition, my loose definition of robust RB is starting running back, running back.
30:54First two rounds, running back, running back. Or if you're not going to do that, three running backs in the first four rounds.
31:01Yeah, I would lean – I usually am a hero RB guy.
31:05But I am more likely to do RB, RB start than I am to just do the zero RB thing.
31:11It's just – I've tried it a few times.
31:14It just doesn't – you really have to hit on those guys late for it to work.
31:20And it's all injury. It's not all injury, but it's mainly injury luck.
31:24And you're hoping that your attrition RB plays pan out.
31:27I don't mind doing the – I mean like the hero RB with doing an RB two by committee or trying to
31:34fill one spot with some goofball picks mid to late round that you're hoping pan out.
31:39Well, give us a – no, give us a – I got to hear this.
31:44Give us a goofball running back. Well, it's just – it's not – it's like you're counting – like you look at
31:51the running backs like in the 10th round versus the receivers.
31:54And it's like you're going to get production out of these receivers.
31:58They're going to be on the field. But then you've got like some RB two.
32:03Blake Corum, is that – is he the prototype here?
32:06Oh, Blake Corum. Like, you know, they're talking him up.
32:09You know, he's probably a little bit better than a goofball pick because, you know, they're talking about him being a 40%, 45% snap guy.
32:17I don't know if that's the case. But goofball pick – Go on, give me a goofball pick.
32:22I don't know, like Braylon Allen. Oh, no. Oh, no.
32:26Remember we talked about Tyler Algier? Do you know the other running back that I fully vaulted in my personal cheat sheet on the draft kit?
32:34Can you guess who my – the other running back that I vaulted on my personal draft cheat sheet is?
32:40It's totally Braylon Allen. Thank you for saying Braylon Allen.
32:43I'm so happy you said Braylon Allen. I was – oh, my God.
32:47Yes, I agree he's a goofball pick, but he's my goofball pick.
32:51That's fine. I mean, it's not like – I wasn't meaning as an insult.
32:56I'm just like, this guy is not going to deliver for you weeks one through four.
33:01Not going to give you any kind of – you know, you're hoping that Brees Hall gets dinged up and now you've got your starter.
33:09And that's fine. It's just you look at the receivers that are available there or tight ends, and you've got like starters.
33:15So Braylon Allen is what if Jordan Howard could catch?
33:19That's how I see it in the best possible way.
33:22I'm also very in on the Jets. We've talked about this.
33:25The teams that don't score a lot of points and generally have bad records are teams to stay away from.
33:32Generally speaking, I know that there's a case to be made for players like Trey McBride, and it's understandable.
33:38But generally speaking, if you just focused on drafting guys like George Pickens in your fantasy draft, you're probably going to be okay.
33:45You're probably going to be in the top half.
33:48If you just did that, if you just took the bottom five teams, crossed them all out, don't draft a single player
33:55from a bottom five team, it's not the worst strategy, actually.
33:58I don't think the Jets are that. I am allowed, if you will, and maybe I want to ask the question back to you.
34:06I think that everybody is wrong about the Jets.
34:09I think Vegas is wrong about the Jets. I think the Jets are just misunderstood.
34:13What they've been dealing with at quarterback and coaching and offensive line over the last five years has been just such a
34:20catastrophe and that this stabilizing force that is Geno Smith is under-discussed.
34:24It's one of the sort of hidden news items, right?
34:27I just posted on Patreon, patreon.com slash podfather. I posted 10 hidden news items.
34:32And one of the hidden news items that is under-discussed is how much praise and trust the coaches are showing in Geno Smith.
34:39It's just no one believes it. He's lost the trust of the fantasy community.
34:43Just like Ashton Gentry and Jeremiah Love will have excuses made for them by the fantasy community because draft capital and explosiveness
34:50and amazing players in college were so exciting. Okay.
34:53Geno Smith's on the other end of that spectrum.
34:56No matter what he does to move the needle in the media, fantasy gamers aren't buying it, right?
35:02But I'm the one, I guess. I'm buying it.
35:04I'm buying it. I also love that he has one of the best talent configurations of just the right weapons in the
35:11right places to support a quarterback and ultimately an offense because it's tempting to say, oh, the Cardinals, the Dolphins.
35:18Sorry, not the Dolphins. The Dolphins are a joke.
35:21You can't ever draft a Dolphin. But all the other bad teams, at least we're going to get garbage time.
35:27And that is often a fallacy. There's plenty of games where garbage time just doesn't materialize.
35:32It's just another turnover and the game's over. And I think with the Jets, we're actually going to get real garbage time,
35:39a lot of it, and it's going to be fun.
35:42And I mean, the narrative writes itself that Geno Smith returns to New York, that they win a couple games that you weren't expecting them to win.
35:51But in general, he's just out there de-gaffing. And there's going to be memes like the Jay Cutler meme with his cigarettes hanging out of his mouth.
35:59There's going to be these de-gaff memes just like LeBron, Jay Cutler, where they're just older and they don't care anymore and whatever.
36:06They're just out here putting up numbers. And so I think that's – I see that with Geno Smith.
36:12Love him in Superflex, obviously. I think it's a significant upgrade for Garrett Wilson.
36:17And I seem to be very high on Garrett Wilson in terms of projections relative to ADP.
36:22I've been drafting him quite a bit. He's available in the fourth round.
36:26Really talented route runner, and now he's got a competent quarterback.
36:30And I'm just looking at Geno's numbers. And I don't think it's fair to really hold the Raiders season against him too
36:37much because of the receiving core that he had there.
36:40I mean, he did have Jacoby Myers, and then they traded him away.
36:44Brock Bowers played 12 games, started eight. Trey Tucker was basically his number one receiver.
36:49So he's getting a pretty significant upgrade here with Garrett Wilson.
36:52Don't forget the shadow offensive line meetings. Remember that?
36:55Did you hear about that? No, I don't think I heard about that or I forgot about it.
37:01There were two meetings. There was a meeting with the offensive line coach, which was the coach's son.
37:06He didn't know what he was doing. And then so they would have a second shadow meeting.
37:12Oh, I hadn't heard. I missed that. He would leave, and then they would have the real meeting.
37:17It was awful. It was dysfunctional. It was a very dysfunctional situation.
37:21But again, Gentey's going to be fine. Draft him at will.
37:25Don't even adjust your rankings with him. He might be ready for week one.
37:29He might not. Doesn't matter. He's very exciting. And he was a high draft pick and just draft, draft, draft, draft, draft.
37:36Even though he's on the Raiders. Doesn't matter. None of that matters.
37:40But don't draft A-chan. This is all very arbitrary to me.
37:43I can't keep it straight. I can't. I just can't.
37:46I can't rectify it. Okay, Gino's done. He's dust.
37:49But Daniel Jones is going to be back, and he's fine.
37:53Okay. Sure. Or maybe. Or maybe. We're the ones.
37:56And it all flows, like you said, first and foremost, to Garrett Wilson, who is absolutely of value.
38:01That's another one of those where I was like, I feel like we're too high on Garrett Wilson.
38:07And I kept, that's one of those stress tests, ranking stress tests that you do.
38:12I'm sure you talk to people at 4 for 4.
38:15It's really smart people at 4 for 4. And you're like, hey, guys, am I crazy with A-chan?
38:20Am I crazy with this Garrett Wilson? I keep getting him everywhere.
38:24And then a lot of times, these stress test arguments, if you're in your shoes, you're thinking, oh, I'm fine.
38:31Oh, these arguments are a little, they're pretty flimsy.
38:33I like my argument better for Garrett Wilson. And I'm the same way.
38:38Also, no news. No news about Garrett Wilson. Nothing.
38:40Every time I look up, there's been a hard fall taken by Chris Olave, who was just clear because he has now
38:47blood clot medication that he can take. And it's one thing after another with a lot of these receivers and running backs.
38:54And then just a couple where you're just like, God, I haven't heard about Garrett Wilson this offseason at all.
39:01Maybe that's a good thing. Actually, it is. Because it's like, we're watching hard knocks, right?
39:06And we're seeing how good Jackson Smith and Jigba is.
39:09And by the way, Jackson Smith and Jigba is responsible for what's happening with Emeka Agbuka's ADP, by the way, and Marvin Harrison Jr.
39:16Like, they should send him money. They owe him money.
39:20Like, what he's doing. These Ohio State receivers. Right?
39:22Except, again, arbitrarily, because he has this Geno Smith stench on him.
39:26Garrett Wilson. And I'm like, where's the Garrett Wilson irrational exuberance because he's an Ohio State guy who's similar to Jackson Smith
39:33and Jigba in terms of build and play style?
39:36No? No? Okay. Thanks. I'm just trying to keep all this straight, man.
39:40Instead, I just. But the way to keep it straight is you just set up your projections.
39:45You look at how many points this team's going to score.
39:49How are they going to distribute the targets? How efficient these players have been historically?
39:54And you run the numbers. And you're like, hey, wait a second.
39:57I think Garrett Wilson's. He's being drafted at least around behind where he should be.
40:02I just looked up some news. The top news item here from underdog Garrett Wilson on the offense that Frank Reich is building.
40:09Quote, this is one of the offenses I'm going to look back to.
40:14I'm going to look back on in a few years and love the most.
40:18I'm excited to go bring all of his thoughts and dreams to life.
40:22End quote. And yet no one talks about that news.
40:25You're not going to hear a single podcast. Someone's talking about that news.
40:29Was that recent? Two hours ago. Okay. So it hasn't really hit the wire yet.
40:34We're talking about it. All right. That's two. Okay.
40:37I didn't know about that news. I just like the quote.
40:40Okay. Before that came out. Okay. I assume that was just one of those.
40:45I had this whole project where I found hidden news.
40:48And again, I posted a top 10 hidden news items on patreon.com slash podfather.
40:52And it's one of the things, you know, we're, we're stress testing these, these, these hidden news nuggets.
40:58That would have been one. I assumed I missed that, but thankfully it just came out.
41:03And now we're going to test. This is the great test, John.
41:07We have one of those special. Brock Bowers is a robot sent from heaven to play football.
41:12We have one of those quotes. He's going to make dreams come true.
41:16What dreams may come another movie for it with Robin Williams from 30 years ago or no, was it might've been Tom Hanks either.
41:24It was either Tom Hanks or Robin Williams. I think it was Robin Williams going into the dreams.
41:30Yeah. Yes. And then there's another one, there's another cloud movie that, that no one saw Tom Hanks.
41:35I always get them confused. Anyway, I know them and they're, they're old references, but I'm very proud to know all these things.
41:43Uh, I can't even doing podcasts. It's just, it's so fun.
41:46It's so fun to talk like this. Oh, so we're going to, we're going to find out John in real time, you
41:53and me today and tomorrow and the next day, will anyone care that Garrett will, will they take it and run with it?
42:00Like they did with the Brock Bowers human robot thing.
42:03Probably not. My guess is not because of the Gino Smith stench.
42:07We'll find out together. I have a follow-up quote.
42:10If you would like to hear it, Zach Rosenblatt tweeted Garrett Wilson longs for the days gone by for simpler times when OCs didn't overcomplicate things.
42:18When a coach had a star receiver, he built an offense around getting that ball to that star receiver.
42:24He feels that in Frank Reich's offense, a return to the old days.
42:28That's what he always wanted. Quote, Frank reminds me of the league that I grew up watching.
42:34End quote. On Reich, Bill Jett's OC that's won the over the roster with his energy, his style, his scheme, and the link below.
42:41That's a nice tease for Zach's article. And it certainly supports wide receiver one season for Garrett Wilson.
42:47That's some high-flying rhetoric right there. Yeah. I'm in.
42:50It's hot. I love a good narrative. I love a good narrative if it's supported by, oh, I don't know, metrics.
42:56Oh, I don't know, rock solid projections from the best in the business.
43:01Maybe we're not high enough on Garrett Wilson. All of you.
43:04Everybody, including us. Which takes me to one DeAndre Swift.
43:07DeAndre Swift. We thought he was Sonny Michel, but it turns out he's actually not bad.
43:12That he doesn't want to run through a brick wall.
43:15He doesn't want to hurt his forehead doing that like Dan Campbell wanted him to do.
43:20And then Ben Johnson was like, I think we can get more out of this guy if we have a different approach.
43:27And yeah, that's what's happening. And now Kyle Mononguy, who he was one of those.
43:32I mean, talk about a goofy running back. I mean, that was a goof running back, right?
43:37And now it's really goofy because he's week to week with a knee hyperextension that seems more serious than they're reporting.
43:44That's my opinion, man. And so I'm thinking about great teams where I want to get exposure, right?
43:50So even if you're canceling all these players from fantasy because they're on bottom five teams, let's just pretend we're doing this.
43:57We're not. Certain examples where A-chan will do it.
44:00But you got to draft somebody. And man, you could do a lot worse in most rounds than the workhorse running back
44:07for one of the top offenses in the league.
44:09Agreed. I mean, I don't love talking up the bears, but Ben Johnson, they actually got a coaching hire correct.
44:16And Ben Johnson's really good at designing an offense and running an offense, play calling.
44:20And I think we were a little worried last year that Swift and him didn't get along or Johnson wasn't a fan of DeAndre Swift.
44:28But he was an RB19 two years ago, RB15 last year.
44:32Run grades are good. Yards before contact's great. He's not the most elusive guy.
44:36He's a little boring at this point in his career.
44:39I think he's just been around a while, but he's still in his prime for running back.
44:45And this Monongai injury just cements his touch floor, especially in September.
44:49Yeah. And maybe longer. I think, you know, at the end of the fourth round and you've drafted, let's say you've got
44:55Bijan or you've got Jameer Gibbs, and then you draft whatever second and third round and you're coming back and you're getting
45:02DeAndre Swift at the end of the fourth round as your RB2.
45:06I think you're in real good shape. Technically, that would not be robust RB, but you'd be in great shape.
45:13You'd be in great, great shape, especially if you don't draft Trey McBride or Jeremiah Love.
45:18We have Swift ahead of Jeremiah Love for what I believe to be all the right reasons.
45:23Look at that comp. I get one of my favorite emails to get podfather at rotawonderworld.com if you want to send me any email.
45:31Oh, if you want to write for us, like write news, write articles, help us with podcasts.
45:36We're open for business here. We'd love your help.
45:39Email me podfather at rotawonderworld.com. One of my favorite emails is when someone will screenshot a player page and they would be
45:46like, this comp has turned out so well. It's creepy.
45:49Look at this comp for DeAndre Swift. Travis Etienne.
45:52Everything you said about DeAndre Swift, I could copy and paste over to Travis Etienne, except Travis Etienne is relying on this
45:59consensus projection that most fantasy analysts have imposed onto the community that Tyler Shuck is actually really good.
46:04And don't worry, he's going to break out all over the place and this offense will be right.
46:10It's a much more of a certainty in Chicago that that's going to happen with Caleb Williams than it is with Tyler Shuck.
46:17And yet Etienne goes ahead of Swift, has all year.
46:20Swift is currently going at 45 in best ball.
46:23And I love him there. And we've changed the last name pronunciation of this, right?
46:28It's not Etienne. Oh shit, you're right. I just read it.
46:31I was reading it. I was saying it as it reads.
46:35I was reading the website and it makes actually, that makes it less apropos because he's not A-chan.
46:41I mean, he is A-chan, but he ain't A-chan, right?
46:44If Trevor A-chan were a dolphin, we'd be out.
46:47If D-Von A-chan is a dolphin, we're in. A-chan, that A-chan, Travis A-chan and Swift are going fairly close in our multi-site ADP.
46:5442 for A-chan, Travis A-chan. That's his making. I prefer Etienne, but it's his decision.
46:59DeAndre Swift at 45. Yeah, it's become very close.
47:01Remember, it was like two rounds of difference a month ago.
47:05Well, there was some talk that Kamara was going to have a pretty significant passing down role, which would eat into A-chan's upside, but he's injured.
47:13So it's interesting to see how this is going to play out, especially early in the season.
47:19Yeah. Travis, you know what makes it even more difficult is that he has a brother named Trevor.
47:24Trevor, and that sounds like Travis. And I have a lot of Trevor A-chan in Dynasty.
47:29So I see his name all the time, too, just on my Dynasty team.
47:34And again, we're not going to talk about fringe players.
47:37This is a meat and potatoes podcast, as we talked about.
47:40But I did have to mention Trevor A-chan is a...
47:43That's not goofy. That's crazy. But it's a very smart stash in Dynasty.
47:48We'll say that. And it's been a bit of a roller coaster for Travis A-chan on the Saints in that when it
47:55looked like Kamara was out, he wasn't going to come back.
47:58He was sometimes being drafted at the end of the second round.
48:02It was wild. Then Kamara signs the contract. His ADP crashes.
48:05Kamara gets hurt. It bumps back up, but nothing close to where it was.
48:10So it is interesting how this works, how the psychology of touch distribution and upside works in that situation.
48:16But all along, I mean, whether it's Kamara or whether it's Monongai, who cares, right?
48:20These two guys are similar, and they should be ranked essentially adjacent, in my opinion.
48:25And I wouldn't argue with Swift over A-chan, given the Bears offense is proven at this point to be better.
48:31So I think that's that four or five turn where you're getting into your last really stable workloads.
48:37All right. So when I was thinking about this show, players that we might agree on, players that I was almost certain you would come here guns blazing.
48:46I've been right so far. Ramadre Stevenson, I knew you'd love it.
48:50I mean, I knew that. That was one of the easier calls in my mind.
48:54The other. You ready for this? I mean, I just know.
48:58I know this. I know. If this is not true, I don't know what I'm going to do.
49:04I'm going to have to question everything. But you are very much in on DJ Moore, correct?
49:09I would not answer that in the affirmative. I'm not out on him at all.
49:14But I have a wide receiver 27. Oh, no.
49:17His ADP is. Oh, uh-oh. 22. But that's an interesting group.
49:20I have, see, I have like a Christian Watson ahead of him.
49:24I have a Jameson Williams ahead of him. Okay.
49:27I think my one concern with DJ Moore is, you know, is he a little bit over his prime or out of his prime?
49:34Past his prime is the correct word. There's so many mouths.
49:38I'm just kidding. There's not that many mouths to feed in Buffalo.
49:42I think he's going to be the biggest mouth.
49:44And we have the rule. Doesn't matter. It doesn't matter with an offense like the Bills.
49:49Unlimited mouths. Yeah. I mean, I think he's in an interesting group there for me with Watson, McLaurin, Jameson Williams, Luther Burden,
49:56Mike Evans below him, Parker Washington just below him.
49:59So I would, he's not like on any kind of, I don't have many shares of DJ Moore just because I think
50:06he's on a few spots low on him. But it's just a projection.
50:10So I'm questioning everything. We're in lockstep where we have him.
50:14I was trying to get us to disagree, but it's very difficult because you're very smart.
50:19You want to hear the projections that we have on DJ Moore and Christian Watson?
50:24Sure. Projected fantasy points for DJ Moore, 206.7. Projected fantasy points for Christian Watson, 205.4.
50:28So yes, we're with you. That's PPR. Yes, in full PPR.
50:32And yeah, I have him below all these guys, below Parker Washington, certainly below, I mean, you name it.
50:38Right. Devante Adams, of course, below all those guys.
50:41You mentioned Mike Evans. It sounds like you're very concerned about Mike Evans.
50:45And I have to admit, I thought this would be one of those.
50:49He's a Hall of Famer, like Devante Adams, going to a place where he is going to be the man and help a franchise.
50:56But if you're going to critique all these Cardinals, and one of the big reasons why is they have to face the Seahawks twice and the Rams twice.
51:05And those are going to be fake garbage time games because they're just not going to be able to move the ball ever.
51:12So the 49ers are in the same position. And this offense, it's just, it's very, one of the most impossible to project.
51:19What the hell is going to happen given that everybody is hurt?
51:23No one is practicing consistently, including even Dijon Stribbling, who we'll talk about.
51:27And so my thought was at least we're going to have Mike Evans, and it's going to be the one last ride season for Mike Evans.
51:36This is what I thought. Whereas I said, oh, Keenan Allen in a Colts jersey is like Randy Moss in a Titans jersey.
51:43Remember that? Remember that season? No one remembers. I was thinking more that Mike Evans on the 49ers was going to be
51:50more like Steve Smith on the Ravens. And that, okay, he had lower body injuries.
51:54It's a Hall of Famer, and he's going to be the man.
51:58And yeah, sure, he's going to have a hamstring injury on August 7th.
52:02And it's just going to make him more affordable and gobble, gobble, gobble.
52:06Right. But then there's like three different lower body injuries.
52:10And then you go back to last year, and you're like, geez, man, this is not new.
52:15Oh, man. Yeah, he is essentially Keenan Allen's age.
52:18I don't want to be on the wrong side of this cliff here.
52:22And with premium draft capital, talking about top 50 pick, he's been sliding.
52:26He's been sliding. And probably has further to fall.
52:29I certainly, in my personal cheat sheet, I moved him way down.
52:33I was like, I don't need the aggravation. I don't need it.
52:36There's plenty of guys. You named a whole bunch of guys, and they all have projections within two points of each other.
52:43So why even? Just like we talked about with Jeremiah Love.
52:47If I can have Swift or Travis H. And why am I worried?
52:51Why am I walking into this trap willfully? I don't need to do it.
52:55It's not necessary. So with Mike Evans, I think we're just in agreement that this is probably just a stay away.
53:02More of a stay away, it sounds like, for you, maybe even than Henderson.
53:06I try not to draft into injuries unless the guy is just a stud.
53:11Hence my dilemma. And age is also a factor in all that.
53:15So if you could ask me if I could know the number of games played by one player ahead of time, he
53:22would be a great one to know. Because if he plays 17 games or 16 games or something like that, he's going
53:29to destroy in this offense very likely. Unless it's some really injury-prone season, but he's able to play through it.
53:35Because, you know, Brock Purdy is really good quarterback.
53:38This is a good offensive scheme. They need him.
53:41And lots of touchdowns, very likely. But he also could play eight games like he did last year.
53:46He only averaged 46 yards per game last year.
53:49And 14 games the year before. So you're starting to wonder are the wheels coming off?
53:54And he's got the substation there, too. Is he able to defeat that?
53:58Is he getting with CMC and doing their voodoo magic to defeat the substation gremlins?
54:03I don't know. Even Stribling, man. Like, Stribling's a rookie.
54:06And he's been every time, every week, we look up and he's got some knock and he's coming back, right?
54:12He's making these incredibly quick recoveries from hamstring injuries and whatnot.
54:16I mean, he's back. But nonetheless, right? Shoulder, hamstring, Stribling's.
54:19No one's safe. No one's safe. No one is safe from the substation.
54:23We have some great chat questions. Thoughts on Brees Hall in that offense.
54:27We should go back and talk about that because clearly we're trending towards out on Mike Evans.
54:33But I think you need to have some. He's not on my do not draft list because I want some exposure to him.
54:40You just have to manage your exposure to Mike Evans.
54:43I think you want to be under the average exposure, but you want some.
54:47That's the best way I can say it. And unfortunately, these things are just stacking up.
54:53So, man, you're so right. If we had a crystal ball, the Mike Evans crystal ball would be a hell of a crystal ball, man.
55:00Wow, that would be great. Brees Hall would be another one, though.
55:04I mean, if we knew Brees Hall was going to play 17 games in that offense, I'm very bullish on Brees Hall.
55:11My problem is he's not healthy and he's not practicing.
55:14And Braylon Allen is the real deal. Braylon Allen is Jordan Howard could catch.
55:19And Isaiah Davis is also really good, right? Imagine a better version of Kyle Mononga.
55:23That's Isaiah Davis. Just a grinder who makes people pay for trying to tackle him.
55:28That's Isaiah Davis. I would not want to tackle him.
55:31Mononga either. And they're both hurt, but Mononga had a very similar timeline for recovery, but it happened much later in preseason
55:38where it looks like Davis will be back. And so they're going to rotate through.
55:43There's going to be a lot of options for Geno Smith to throw to.
55:47So the projection math on Brees Hall does not allow me to draft him ahead of consensus, though I do love him.
55:54I think he's a fantastic buy, especially in Dynasty.
55:57I just can't say that I'm ahead of consensus on him.
56:01He's probably, I mean, other than Sadiq, who's really fading now because he's not going to be ready for week one.
56:07At least he's not going to be playing anything close to a full snap share week one.
56:13He's going to be slow played. And who knows?
56:16Probably, especially when they have a quality tight end like Mason Taylor already on the roster.
56:21Very hard to make a case for Sadiq. Other than Sadiq, I think that he and Brees Hall are the only two that I'm probably behind consensus on.
56:29Everyone else. And the guy I'm most ahead of consensus on in the Jets, just based on.
56:35I don't know. Even if you weighted the ADP, I think even if you weighted it, I'd be more ahead of consensus
56:42on Adni Mitchell than even Garrett Wilson. But it's close.
56:45I think if you weighted it, I'd be similarly ahead of consensus on those two guys and certainly Geno Smith and certainly Braylon Allen.
56:53Again, I love the Jets. It's just Brees Hall is the one premium guy that I'm not that interested in because the
56:59whole reason we like the Jets is to get a discount.
57:03You don't go to the dollar store to buy a Rolex.
57:06Yeah, you don't. I think the... That was a hell of an analogy.
57:11That analogy was dead on, by the way, but you know it was good because you were like, whoa, let me process this.
57:18I had to take a minute to make sure it was...
57:21You can use that. Again, like he's the clear...
57:24I mean, there aren't many, if you're looking at this range in the draft, there aren't many like clear real world wide
57:31receiver twos that have some kind of history of production, which he does.
57:35He had a good little stretch last year with the Jets.
57:39Steady drumbeat, positive noise, reports out of camp. He's being drafted still after Tank Dell, Juwan Jennings, Travis Hunter.
57:45Travis Hunter is not even an offensive player anymore.
57:47These guys are zeros. You're talking about zeros. So, I think he's a great wide receiver six, seven.
57:53He might end up with a starting wide receiver three flex type guy.
57:57And if the Jets are decent, you're in great shape.
58:00I think he's a really good pick, especially that wide receiver 71.
58:04Come on. Come on. My favorite wide receiver dichotomy in all of drafts and all of fantasy right now is all those Texas receivers.
58:12Because in my personal draft cheat sheet in the world famous draft kit, I have Mitchell ahead of Golden.
58:18I mean, I know that you're a Packer fan, and I think my guess is that you are high on Christian Watson
58:25as we are, and you're high on Jaden Reed as we definitely are.
58:29Sounds like this is at the expense of Matthew Golden.
58:32That's what I'm hoping you're going to say. I don't have any evidence that Matthew Golden can play well at the NFL level.
58:39You could almost argue that you've seen more from Adonai Mitchell at this point.
58:44And Adonai Mitchell had similar production at Texas. And so, I just don't see the need to push any chips in at all on Matthew Golden.
58:52And it's one of those bizarre ADP dichotomies where I'm like, why is it so different between these two guys?
58:58I'm certainly more likely to be drafting Mitchell because of his ADP.
59:02I do have Golden in the top 50. I'm not sold that he is the answer at the wide receiver two spot.
59:09I'm sold on Christian Watson being a wide receiver one.
59:12I think Jaden Reed is a better receiver. I think he's proven more.
59:16And I think I'd rather have Reed on my roster.
59:19Again, we're getting positive reports out of camp for Golden.
59:23But we had that last year and it did not pan out.
59:26I think he was a little bit blocked with Dobbs.
59:29And Wicks is able to get open almost at will.
59:33Doesn't have the greatest hands. But they seem committed to these three receivers now.
59:37So, I think there is a path for Golden to return on his ADP.
59:41I think there's a path for him to beat it.
59:45But I hear what you're saying. Certainly, when you're talking ADP versus potential, I would rather have Mitchell.
59:50I'd rather have Kayshawn Booty. Just given what we know about their roles and their ADP.
59:55My daughter is devastated. She's a big Pats fan.
59:58Bigger Pats fan than me now. Because she knows all the little nuances of the team that I don't even know.
60:05Like, what's going on? Remember the Mike Vrabel scandal?
60:08Remember that? That was this year, by the way.
60:11This year. Mike Vrabel happened. That was this year.
60:13I mean, again, that is under Earth. It was so long ago.
60:17I mean, archaeologists are digging it up. Tweets about, was it Diana Rossi?
60:21Something like that. I can't even remember her name.
60:24Rossini. Rossini. Right? Whatever. Whatever at this point. Ancient history.
60:27Ancient, ancient history. She loves Kayshawn Booty. She's like, this guy can play, Dad.
60:32Every time I watch him, he plays well. Why don't they like him?
60:36And I was like, thank you. I don't know.
60:39I don't get it. This happens. Some of these, some of these, some players live in the Truman Show.
60:45Like Romeo Dobbs. It doesn't make sense. Why do they like him?
60:48Why do they pay him? What they paid him?
60:51When, look what you could have got Jawan Jennings for the, for millions and millions and millions of dollars less and similar production.
60:58I'm sure you get positive. And you saw it.
61:01You saw some of these crazy drops in, in Green Bay with, with Romeo.
61:06It's, it's weird. It's just very weird how some players just seem to have charmed lives and others.
61:11They just can't get any respect. Maybe there's something happening in meetings that we're not aware of.
61:17This is usually the case, but you know, in some cases like with Deandre Swift, yeah, he was kind of quiet in meetings and whatnot.
61:25And he wasn't running through walls, but a guy could play regardless.
61:28And so I think that the Texans, they got one over on the pats here with booty.
61:34Yeah. I think he can step right into that.
61:37Jaden Higgins role. I haven't, I haven't ranked 56 right now, but Higgins, I think was around 50 or 48, somewhere in that range prior to the injury.
61:46Um, I think he can make a case that booty is just going to basically replace that production.
61:51You think booty just, you think a copy and paste of booty to what we were going to get from Higgins, huh?
61:58Well, I liked, I mean, I liked Jaden Higgins coming in.
62:02I mean, I think he was top, he was top 50 for me.
62:06So I think that's certainly a fair ranking for, for booty as well.
62:10We haven't really made a change on that just because it's very difficult to know.
62:15I was hoping for a little bit more information, like, uh, how are they going to deploy him?
62:20How, how, how long is it going to take for them to get him ramped up?
62:25Xavier Hutchinson. Isn't that bad. Uh, they like him.
62:28They like, they certainly tank Dell and this offense.
62:31So it was one thing when it was like the Patriots and I don't like Romeo Dobbs.
62:36And I, I actually saw a little path there for booty in new England.
62:41That was exciting to me. There was upside there.
62:44Now he's like, okay, we were low on Higgins anyway, because this is one of those offenses where it's going to disappoint
62:51everybody with the volume and it's not going to matter anymore for Nico Collins.
62:55I mean, this was one of those injuries where I'm like, well, we gotta, now we gotta draft him.
63:01There's no excuses left. Damn it. I got a draft Nico Collins.
63:05Now it has to happen because it's just, again, this is not going to be a prolific offense.
63:10They're going full identity smash mouth football in Houston.
63:13That's been, again, talk about a drumbeat hidden news.
63:16That's all you hear. And I just happened to listen.
63:19I listened to a little bit of Houston talk radio.
63:22Cody got me into it. They have, they have good talk radio.
63:26Houston. Dalton Schultz interested in him. He's the one.
63:29He's the one I was like, in terms of tight ends, John Paulson and I are going to see eye to eye
63:36on Dalton Schultz because that was another one that was where I was like, well, now things have consolidated.
63:42Now I have to draft Dalton Schultz. Now I have to draft Nico Collins.
63:46There's no more excuses. You can't be, you can't be, you know, there's no story you can tell yourself.
63:52They're going to get tons of targets. So I liked Dalton Schultz a lot.
63:57We're way out ahead on Dalton Schultz. The other guy that is like Dalton Schultz, but I think has a little more sex appeal.
64:04Certainly his ADP has been higher, but I think there's an argument that he could even have a career year and that's Dallas Goddard.
64:12Things really are falling into place for Dallas Goddard.
64:15I look up again. Oh, there's Eli Stowers out, right?
64:18Eli Stowers struggling. Eli Stowers can't overtake Grant Calcaterra.
64:21And Eli Stowers is a very good college receiver in a tight ends body who is going to have to come to
64:28the NFL and play football completely differently. And the idea that you think you're going to get much from him as a rookie is just a fantasy.
64:36That's not how it works with guys like that.
64:39He's a tweener and he may eventually be like a Jordan Reed type player or not.
64:44We'll see. It's certainly a risk. Sadiq was always a much more reliable pick in Dynasty rookie drafts than Stowers.
64:51I saw the upside case for him, but I'm like, I can just trade for him in December in Dynasty.
64:57Why would I ever draft him? So I don't, I think I may have, maybe I drafted him once in any rookie draft this year.
65:05Uh, for that particular reason, I was like, there's certain guys I, I basically tag as check back in December, check back
65:12in December, check back in December in Dynasty. Whereas some guys I'm like, Hey, this guy, things could break this guy's way.
65:19I need to get him now. Right. Um, Ted Hearst is one of those guys where I think things are already breaking his way.
65:26Like the horses are out of the barn, John.
65:29Do you want me to comment on Goddard? I don't know what you're commenting on.
65:34I just talked and talked, but now you have all, you have a, you have a bevy of options.
65:40You can, you can go to them. You can go to the moon on a Dalton Schultz spaceship.
65:46We can talk about Dallas Goddard scoring 15 touchdowns.
65:48We can talk about Hearst. There's a lot to talk.
65:52Yeah. I mean, I think we, we covered Schultz.
65:54It makes sense, right? Higgins is out. Uh, Schultz had 80 catches last year.
65:59I mean, right. So in on him as a, whatever.
66:02Jaden Higgins was, was playing punt, the tight end, you punt the tight end position and you, you know, you get a
66:09Hunter Henry and a Dalton Schultz and you're in good shape.
66:12I think, um, Dallas Goddard though. Uh, it's funny if you, funny, you said Henry, my daughter loathes Hunter Henry.
66:19Why? And she just thinks he's not good enough.
66:21And she was mad. They didn't upgrade the position.
66:24Uh, and I told her you're going to have, you have a pipeline of some guys that are going to be rolling off contracts.
66:32Like Michael Mayer told her to just wait. She's like, who's Michael Mayer.
66:36It's amazing to have someone who's doesn't do fantasy, but only knows like one team.
66:41And then you have to kind of talk about who Michael Mayer is.
66:45I love that. She teaches me about the Patriots and I teach her about everybody else.
66:50You're giving her a free education in the league and free agent tight ends that are upcoming.
66:55Well that, yeah. So usually it's a conversation that has been an offshoot of some Patriots conversation.
67:01Right. Uh, but then she'll call back to it.
67:03She'll be like, Oh, is that like a, is that like Michael Mayer?
67:08Like if we, if we were to talk about the jets, cause we're going to see a jets game and let's pretend city stop playing.
67:15Probably won't. Um, he might, I love city. He's great, but hernia.
67:19Come on. We'll be talking about Mason Taylor and she'll be like, Oh, is he like Michael Mayer?
67:25And I'm like, yes, yes, he is. Anyway, Goddard set up pretty well.
67:29My issue with him is just durability. And I'm hoping we can get a full season out of him.
67:3515 games last year, 10 to get year before 14, 12.
67:39He just is always getting dinged up, but, uh, AJ Brown gone.
67:42Um, so we could see a repeat of the touchdowns.
67:45Uh, they're changing the OC, which worries me slightly, although that I'm bullish about the offense as a whole.
67:51Um, there were comments heading into last year where Goddard was just super happy about his usage and like, you could see it coming.
67:59Like you could see a good season coming for him and it transpired.
68:03So that was nice to see not seeing anything so far with this, but it was a good season.
68:09With this new OC. Um, but I haven't, I haven't been tight in 13.
68:14He's really cheap for a guy who finished tight end three last year.
68:18Um, and I'm saying that, you know, you got Devonta Smith, who I love as the wide receiver one there.
68:24Um, a guy lemon coming in, uh, Don Tavian wicks.
68:27I mean, there's just a, there's just a big hole to fill with AJ Brown gone.
68:32Uh, there's one less mouth to feed if you will.
68:35Can't believe we're doing this. We are. We're not because it's the Eagles, but we are.
68:40Yeah. It's a good team. So no, I think, I think Goddard's a nice value.
68:4510th, 11th round. Listen, dude, we, we, I'm not gonna, I'm not gonna let you go unless we talk about Basial Tootin.
68:52And I love that you mentioned Travis Hunter. I mean, he doesn't even play on offense anymore.
68:57Why is he being drafted? But anyway, I, um, maybe this is this, maybe this is me in the way back machine, uh, with, with Parker Washington.
69:06And I'm, I'm just, I'm, I'm over my skis here with Parker Washington.
69:10It's very, very much could be the case. And if that's, it's okay, it's okay.
69:15You're allowed, right? I'm allowed one team that I'm super bullish on over Vegas's expectations.
69:20And that'll be the jets. And I think I'm also allowed one player where I'm just soaking up all the coach speak.
69:27I'm in comparing him to Jerry rice, the work ethic, everything.
69:30I mean, we can't take him off the field, play him until he pukes every, you know, tough as nails best at everything we do blocking.
69:38We'd let, we'd let him babysit my kids. I'm, I'm, I'm just, I'm so in on the narrative or this player narrative with Parker Washington.
69:46And I'm not sorry about it. So let's just, I just want to, let's talk Jaguars.
69:51Parker Washington appears to be the wide receiver one there.
69:54Uh, I'm Brian Thomas. I have really tough time drafting him.
69:58I don't like these splits with Trevor Lawrence. Uh, we didn't, we haven't gotten like the amount of positive news I would
70:05need in camp to really, you know, move Brian Thomas up.
70:08Um, it's been Parker Washington. Like he's been injured, but before that it was how great is this guy?
70:14Okay. So he's the, like the last receiver there in the sixth round where I'm comfortable.
70:19And then there's like this weird drop off there where I don't like any of the receivers until Chris Godwin really.
70:26And so I'm taking Chris Godwin in the seventh round when he's going in the eighth or ninth, usually, because I just want Chris Godwin.
70:34So. How do you not want Chris Godwin? God plus win equals fantasy points.
70:38That's the great Chris Godwin equation. I have Chris Godwin.
70:41We have him adjacent to Brian Thomas. And I feel like I'm crazy.
70:45We haven't projected for like 35 more points, but their ADPs are way off from one another, like multiple rounds.
70:52And I'm like, I think I'd just rather, if I want that archetype, I'm going to go Christian Watson over Brian Thomas.
70:59And if I want the other archetype, I'm just going to go Chris Godwin.
71:03I mean, I go Chris Godwin, even, even, even over the almighty Josh Downs and, and Jaden Reed and Michael Wilson and even Jalen Coker.
71:11I love Chris Godwin. Yeah. I mean, I have Chris Godwin ahead of Brian Thomas, so I don't know how unusual that
71:18is, but it's like, I I've been all in on Godwin this, it's just setting up very great for him.
71:24I don't, I don't know why there's such a big disparity between him and, uh, Igbuka.
71:29Honestly, um, it's not, it's no knock on Igbuka.
71:32I think he's either going to have a good season, but there's just no reason for Chris Godwin to be going in the eighth round.
71:40Want to know what else we have with Chris Godwin?
71:43It's the same thing we have with Garrett Wilson until today, until three hours ago.
71:48A quiet camp, a quiet camp, John. I love it with a guy like Chris Godwin.
71:53I wish we could have had it with Mike Evans, but it wasn't meant to be.
71:58Well, we got the confirmed, confirmed slot role where he's so much better.
72:02Oh, no, that's fine. But that's underreported. No one's, no one's in.
72:06Yeah, sure. We obvious. We're moving on. Are we just going to whisper?
72:10But no, no dings, John. Quiet. Yeah, no injuries.
72:13No, no, no hamstring for Garrett Wilson, right? No weird shoulder thing or whatever's next neck thing for Chris Godwin, you know?
72:20Nothing. I love it. Yeah. I've got him everywhere.
72:23So he's like one of my guys. But you asked about Tootin, and I took Tootin in Scott Fishbowl as my RB2.
72:30I kind of did a wait on running back there.
72:33And I assume you're high on him. Are you excited?
72:36I can never tell when you do these questions whether or not you're leading me into a trap.
72:42You want me to support your take, a positive take on him, or you want me to give a positive take so that you can completely undercut it?
72:50Well, I want harmony. Am I looking for pugilism?
72:53You never know. And that's why the show is the show.
72:57You probably would predict that I am a little concerned just based on this Rodriguez signing and the history with Liam Cohen and going back to Kentucky.
73:05And the advanced metrics for Rodriguez were pretty damn good last year.
73:0997 percentile yak per attempt, 94 percentile success rate.
73:12Big numbers with Cohen at Kentucky. I just don't think it's going to be a bell cow roll for Tootin.
73:18And I don't think I'm out on a limb saying that.
73:22I'm hoping that he's getting lead back touches because he's an athletic freak.
73:26And I want to see that player profiler, like all those gaudy bars that go like you go to the hit the
73:33page and just the bars shoot up to the sky.
73:36Like you should have it so that just his 40 yard dash just goes off the screen.
73:41I don't know if you could program that. That would be pretty funny.
73:45We should. We should. We did that. We did that once upon a time for Tevin Coleman.
73:51Tevin Coleman is a close comp for him, but you know what his actual comp is?
73:56You mentioned him about one hour and 15 minutes ago.
73:59CJ Spiller. Oh, you have the pay job. I pulled it up.
74:03You pulled it up. Oh, that would have been.
74:06Oh, you could have played it off. 100th percentile 40 yard dash, 98th percentile speed score.
74:11I really like player profiler, by the way. Great, great site.
74:14We're doing pretty good. Yeah. Four for four. Also, John coming.
74:18He is a very busy time of year, especially for four for four.
74:22And he does carve out time to do rare podcast appearance.
74:25And he's been doing it with us and we very much appreciate it.
74:29So definitely go to four for four. Subscribe to get his rankings between player profiler and four for four.
74:35You could win a $10,000 league. No problem. But not necessarily because the rankings are that good.
74:41Just because those guys don't care. I think we're we're we're I think we're in the same place where I'm not burying
74:48him by any means, but we're not out ahead.
74:50I the the is actually the LaQuinn Allen injury, which kind of solidified his place where it's like, hey, man, if he's
74:57going to get if he's going to be getting targets, I can't be out on this guy.
75:03I mean, you know, we're not crazy. We're not can't can't be that can't can't let that happen.
75:08So, yeah, I think he's a fun guy. I you definitely what do you think about drafting him?
75:14Would you ever draft him as like your third running back?
75:18Potentially, but I don't think I'm drafting my third that early.
75:21I know. That's the thing. He's like the perfect third running back.
75:25But you could have remand rate the next round.
75:28That's the thing. Right. Like for me, it's like, oh, I'd love to you prefer him or Jadarian price.
75:34I think I prefer price. Me too. Because if I'm shooting for upside, that to me is where the Mac, the maximal
75:41upside is Jerry and price gets that job and it's on.
75:44It's on. It's so on. I think it's I think it's more likely that price is 60 percent, 65 percent touch back
75:51than it is for tootin barring, you know, just assuming everybody stays healthy.
75:55I think your your floor is higher with price and your ceiling's higher.
75:59And I'm not a big draft capital guy. Like I'm not going to be, you know, like we talked about making fun
76:06of gentian and love and a big part of that is just all the draft capital of swooning.
76:12Jerry and price has the draft capital. We're talking about first round versus fourth round here.
76:17So that that to me is a big difference.
76:20Anyway, I got to get you, John, you got to go.
76:23I got to get you out of here. This is one of those things where we've gone just there's we could keep going and going.
76:31We have a never ending show sheet here. I do want to ask you one because you're really good about training camp news and how to decode it.
76:40So there's one that's because I'm pretty high on Carnal Tate and not not not based on Jackson Smith and Jigba, you
76:47know, not based on the Ohio State helmet, just based on the situation.
76:51I'm feeling some some very quiet Jamar Chase camp, not his fault, lack of production in training camp and preseason.
76:57And then everyone just slaps their forehead when the season starts.
77:01I'm feeling that with Carnell Tate and I generally ignore accuracy issues from quarterbacks in camp.
77:06But it's been pretty bad what I'm hearing about Cam Ward.
77:09And I want to know what your alert level is now with Cam Ward.
77:14Generally, my take on camp news is you take all the positive with a grain of salt because it's almost all positive
77:21and stuff you really pay attention to is the negative because it's so rare that they're back, you know, that we're just
77:28getting negative report after negative report pummeled coming out of camp.
77:31Oh, so I'm worried like I was heading into this season thinking, OK, Cam Ward, you know, very, very high draft pick.
77:38God has to be decent, you know, down there somewhere.
77:41Had almost no weapons last year. Now they now he has a bona fide wide receiver one.
77:47They bring in Wondale Robinson, really good slot receiver.
77:49Gunnar Helms, a solid receiving tight end. He's got some options now.
77:53You know, Ridley's still there, but it's been so bad.
77:56I don't know how to like the only there's two players that I well, there's three, I guess late.
78:02I don't mind Robinson because I think he'll get a lot of targets there and I don't mind Helm late, but I'm
78:09kind of like not that interested in Helm. Helm's deep.
78:13He's real deep. You know, you're talking like best ball tight end three.
78:17Like I think he could break out and have a decent season.
78:20And then TyJ Spears is pretty interesting as like a passing down, you know, timeshare because he's going really late.
78:27And then he's got some attrition upside too if there's a Pollard injury.
78:31But I like I just I know I'm not getting Tate at cost.
78:35I am just not that interested in the number one receiver.
78:38Well, I don't even know he's the number one target wise.
78:42I think it might be Robinson. So that's where I'm at.
78:45It's just hard to get excited when it's just negative, negative, negative coming out of camp.
78:50Oh, God, we have to move down. I think that's if there was one takeaway.
78:55We saved the best for last year. Actionable, actionable advice here from John Paulson.
79:00I think we got to move down Carnell Tate.
79:02I'm hoping to be wrong. I'm hoping it's just like it goes from like a bad passing offense to somewhat competent because
79:09he could he could thrive in that. But it's just we've heard nothing good about Cam Ward's camp.
79:15And it's not quiet. It's not like it's just quiet and whatever.
79:19It's negative. Please talking to you, Cam Ward. Please, Cam, listen to me.
79:23Prove us wrong. Please, Cam, listen to me. Prove us wrong.
79:2649ers still practicing next to a major electrical field.
79:29Mouths? Are you looking for that word? Holes to put food in.
79:33I just looked up some news. The top news item here from underdog Garrett Wilson on the offense that Frank Reich is building.
79:40Quote, this is one of the offenses I'm going to look back on in a few years and love the most.
79:47I'm excited to go bring all of his thoughts and dreams to life.
79:51You don't go to the dollar store to buy a Rolex.
79:55You can use that. You can use it. Yeah.
79:57Thank you. Travis Hunter. Travis Hunter is not even an offensive player anymore.
80:01I can never tell when you do these questions whether or not you're leading me into a trap.
80:07You want me to support your take, a positive take on him, or you want me to give a positive take so that you can completely undercut it.
80:16Well, I want harmony. Am I looking for pugilism?
80:19You never know. And that's why the show is the show.
80:22I love it with a guy like Chris Godwin.
80:25Travis Hunter is not even an offensive player anymore.
