Aaron Jones has accumulated 71 fantasy points through the first five weeks of the season for the Vikings, significantly outperforming draft expectations; he had 22 carries in a recent game and 123 rushing yards. However, his role faces uncertainty after the Vikings' bye week in week six, when Mason will return, likely leading to a split backfield. The source notes Jones is banged up and breaking down from the heavy workload, suggesting his current heater will end post-bye.

AJ Dillon was drafted in the fourth round and has disappointed; part of a disappointing running back tier outside of the top performers.

Insight page

Amon-Ra St. Brown

Amon-Ra St. Brown is having a good year; positioned as a top-six hit in the wide receiver class alongside Bijan Robinson, Gibbs, Chase Brown, Puka Nakua, and JSN.

Insight page

Anthony McFarland

NegativeBust72:21

Hampton is labeled a complete bust this season with no redeeming fantasy value discussed.

Insight page

Anthony Richardson

NegativeInjury33:35

Penix is banged up with either broken ribs or fractured rib; couldn't get back in during overtime, creating immediate uncertainty for Atlanta's offense and forcing a potential return to Tua Tagovailoa.

Insight page

Baker Mayfield

NegativeBust81:21

If you waited on quarterback and took Baker Mayfield, you're in a world of hurt; the source contrasts this with successful late-round QB strategies.

Insight page

Bijan Robinson

NegativeRole35:45

Bijan Robinson, like Drake London, benefits from Penix's presence in Atlanta's offense; however, Penix's rib injury forces a return to Tua Tagovailoa, and the source believes the entire Atlanta offense—not just receivers—will be negatively affected by the downgrade at quarterback.

Insight page
PositiveValue78:42

Robinson is identified as one of approximately 12 truly productive fantasy players in the current season; ownership of elite running backs like Gibbs, Bijon Robinson, and Derrick Henry is essential for a successful fantasy season.

Insight page

Brock Purdy

PositiveValue79:59

Purdy is cited as an example of a quarterback available in rounds 12-13 who has scored a massive amount of fantasy points weekly; waiting on quarterback and securing Purdy in late rounds proved to be a successful draft strategy.

Insight page
PositiveValue81:50

Brock Purdy is highlighted as a successful late-round quarterback pairing strategy; the source notes that the most successful fantasy teams hit on receiver combinations in the first three to four rounds and then pair them with a late-round quarterback like Purdy.

Insight page

C.J. Stroud

PositiveProjection80:28

Stroud has accumulated close to 120 fantasy points; represents strong quarterback production in the current season.

Insight page
PositiveProjection80:28

CJ Stroud accumulated close to 120 fantasy points in the source's diamond mock draft, demonstrating strong production and validating the late-round quarterback strategy.

Insight page

Carnell Tate

NegativeRole56:40

Would likely be performing well if not for playing on the worst offense in the NFL; the source has one share of Tate over 50 drafts as a fifth-rounder, indicating selective interest despite offensive limitations.

Insight page
NegativeBust56:50

Carnell Tate is a rookie receiver who would probably be performing well if he didn't play on the worst offense, suggesting his production is being suppressed by poor offensive scheme or quarterback play rather than lack of talent.

Insight page

CeeDee Lamb

PositiveValue72:02

CeeDee Lamb is cited as a successful early-round receiver pick that outperformed the 'go running back early' narrative; taking CD in the first round alongside a second-round running back like Walker provides better overall value than chasing early running back busts.

CeeDee Lamb has been great this season other than the past week; drafted in the eight or nine range and delivered value.

Insight page

Chase Brown

NegativeRole72:21

Insight page
PositiveProjection75:16

Chase Brown is having a really good season with three out of five really good weeks; positioned as a hit in the running back class alongside Bijan Robinson and Gibbs.

Insight page

Chris Brooks

NegativeDepth Chart6:30

Chris Brooks, who was running decently and in the Packers backfield mix, has been lost, opening opportunity for other backs like Marshawn Lloyd.

Insight page

Chris Olave

PositiveValue37:00

Chris Alave at the end of the second round was part of a favorable draft strategy in the final days of draft season; owners who secured Alave alongside early-round running backs (Gibbs, Bijan) and third-round receivers like Jamar Chase created major draft advantages.

Insight page
PositiveValue72:02

Chris Olave is highlighted as a successful early-round receiver pick that outperformed the 'go running back early' narrative; taking Olave in the first round alongside a second-round running back like Walker provides better overall value than chasing early running back busts.

Insight page
NegativeValue77:15

Chris Olave would occasionally sneak into the nine through 17 range alongside other receivers; part of a disappointing wide receiver class in early rounds.

Insight page

Christian McCaffrey

NegativeProjection71:06

McCaffrey has been touchdown dependent for production; stat lines haven't been strong, especially in the passing game over the last two weeks, suggesting touchdowns have been saving him rather than consistent volume.

Insight page
NegativeProjection71:43

CMC doesn't look great this season; he's been touchdown dependent and saving his weeks with red zone scoring rather than consistent production. The source notes he's running out of gas and wasn't as efficient as he used to be, though he remains a focal point of the offense.

Insight page
NegativeBust72:27

McCaffrey was faded this year because he wasn't as efficient as he used to be last year; the source felt like he was running out of gas, suggesting declining efficiency and performance trajectory.

Insight page

Christian Watson

PositiveValue37:00

Christian Watson was being taken around picks 36–38 late in draft season; the source identifies Watson as a key player in a draft strategy centered on securing early-round running backs (Gibbs, Bijan) and pairing them with late-round receivers, suggesting Watson's ADP reflected undervaluation relative to his role.

Insight page
PositiveBreakout81:41

Christian Watson has been really, really good when paired with the right quarterback combination in the first couple of rounds, exemplifying a successful draft strategy.

Insight page

Colston Loveland

NegativeProjection23:30

Colston Loveland has accumulated 24 fantasy points through five weeks, nearly matching Jason Myers' 25.5-point week five output; the source uses this comparison to highlight the remarkable similarity in production between a top-performing kicker and a tight end, underscoring Loveland's strong early-season performance.

Insight page
NegativeBust27:25

Colston Loveland underperformed expectations; Tyler Warren is who the source thought and hoped Loveland would be, and Warren was a better pick at a later ADP.

Insight page
PositiveRole49:12

If Kaleif Raymond misses time due to injury, Loveland would benefit from increased target share and opportunities in the Bears offense; the source notes Raymond's injury could help Loveland and other receivers like Dunze.

Insight page
NegativeBust49:32

Fourth-round pick has underperformed significantly; speaker notes not seeing "the glimmer" or "light at the end of the tunnel" after recent poor performance. Despite earlier advice to weather the storm and avoid benching due to whipsaw risk, speaker now reconsidering after this past week's output. Loveland is characterized as "unbenchable" at tight end due to boom-bust ceiling (could post 25 fantasy points any week), but production has been inconsistent with multiple low-scoring games (twos, threes, fours) mixed with potential upside. Quarterback situation (Bajan vs. Caleb) is cited as key factor; with backup quarterbacks, source would bench Loveland in favor of producing alternatives like Pat Friermuth or Juwan Johnson.

Insight page
PositiveProjection53:13

Colston Loveland could be the Drake May of tight ends—a breakout candidate with significant upside if Caleb Williams returns to starting quarterback. The source notes that at the end of last season when Caleb was the quarterback, Loveland received all those targets and receptions, suggesting a ceiling for production tied to quarterback health.

Insight page
NegativeBust53:20

Through five weeks in October, Colston Loveland is underperforming significantly, trailing behind backup tight ends like Greg Dolchich, Noah Fant, Cade Otten, and Evan Ingram in total fantasy points. The source expresses frustration that scrubs are outscoring him and questions when to abandon the position, noting that eating seven straight bad weeks of Loveland producing three points at the tight end position is unsustainable.

Insight page
NegativeProjection29:51

Dalton Kincaid started the season like a house of fire but has been terrible recently; the source notes his decline as part of the tight end landscape discussion.

Insight page
NegativeRole50:07

Eighth-round pick tight end with boom-bust profile similar to Colson Loveland despite different draft capital. Characterized as unbenchable due to ceiling of 25 fantasy points any week, but has produced inconsistent results with multiple low-scoring games (twos, ones, fours) mixed with potential upside. Speaker notes the dilemma of benching him after eating low scores, only to have him post 7 catches for 90 yards and 2 touchdowns on the bench. Kincaid owners face same challenge as Loveland owners: either back him up with depth like Likely, Goddard, or Juwan Johnson, or accept the volatility.

Insight page

Drake London

NegativeRole34:00

Drake London benefited from Penix's arrival early in the season, making him a valuable late-second-round pick for owners who paired him with Gibbs and Bijon; however, Penix's rib injury forces London back to Tua Tagovailoa, who the source describes as 'absolute garbage,' significantly downgrading London's outlook and the entire Atlanta offense.

Insight page
PositiveBreakout72:12

Drake London fell in drafts but has unlocked significant upside with the arrival of quarterback Kirk Cousins (Pennix); the quarterback change was the key catalyst for London's emergence as a productive fantasy asset.

Kittle is positioned as one of the top rest-of-season tight end plays, especially after Deebo Samuel's injury; he has posted 18, 26, and 17 fantasy points in recent weeks and is primed for increased volume as the 49ers have lost multiple receivers (Deebo, Brandon Aiyuk, Jauan Jennings, Ricky Pearsall). The source notes he had limited snaps early due to injury recovery but is now healthy and faces a depleted receiving corps.

George Pickens

NegativeBust72:02

George Pickens showed early promise but has been disappointing overall this season; the source notes he 'showed life' early but has been bad to start the year, indicating underperformance relative to expectations.

Insight page

Isaiah Likely

NegativeProjection28:08

Isaiah Likely has 23 targets in the last two games and three games of double-digit targets this season, but the source cautions he will not be consistent; he had two monster weeks (Week 1 and Week 5) but also two terrible weeks and one so-so week, making him boom-or-bust despite ranking as tight end two currently.

Insight page

Ja'Marr Chase

PositiveValue37:00

Jamar Chase in the third round has been a really solid pick; the source highlights Chase as part of a favorable draft strategy where early-round running back stacks (Gibbs and Bijan) paired with late-second-round receivers (Drake London, Chris Alave) and third-round receivers like Chase created major advantages for owners.

Insight page

NegativeBreakout56:33

Jeremiah Love is a rookie running back who has been all over the place in discussions, suggesting volatility and inconsistency in his performance or role through five weeks of the season.

Insight page
PositiveBreakout58:10

Despite a rough week five, the source maintains conviction in Love as a second-half league winner; Arizona drafted him third overall with $50 million guaranteed, ensuring significant playing time; the source believes Love has elite talent and flashed potential in college, warranting patience through early-season volatility rather than week-to-week overreaction.

NegativeRole6:30

The Josh Jacobs role situation in the Packers backfield is not expected to be resolved anytime soon, contrary to earlier expectations; this uncertainty is cited as a reason why Marshawn Lloyd may gain opportunity.

Insight page

If you waited on quarterback and took the guy on the Chargers, he's a bust; the source contrasts this with successful late-round QB strategies like Stafford, Love, and CJ Stroud, who accumulated close to 120 fantasy points.

Insight page

Justin Jefferson

PositiveValue72:02

Justin Jefferson is highlighted as a successful early-round receiver pick that outperformed the 'go running back early' narrative; taking Jefferson in the first round alongside a second-round running back like Walker provides better overall value than chasing early running back busts.

Insight page
NegativeBust49:25

Described as having been "crammed back down to earth" after early-season hype. Gets targets but is taking opportunities away from other receivers on the team, creating a crowded receiving situation. Source finds it "annoying" having him out there competing for targets.

Insight page

MarShawn Lloyd

PositiveBreakout6:00

0:00Alright, here we are, the Fantasy Empire Christopher Columbus Edition, led by our main explorer Chris Vaccaro, Nelson Sousa and the Ty
0:07Johnson fan club hero himself, Matt Modica. Boys, how we doing this morning?
0:12Doing great, Spit. Good to have you in the driver's seat again for us here.
0:17Got the call up from the minors. Did you like my artwork, Chris?
0:21I called up Rembrandt and Van Gogh for that.
0:24It was really good. You sent it to me yesterday, Paul, and I was impressed.
0:30Are you doing these things or do you have somebody that you...
0:34It is me. It is me. I am an AI expert at this point.
0:38Jack of many trades, I tell you. I'm tired and I'm punchy.
0:43Yeah, there's a lot of tired... I won't call these guys cranky for my pregame show warm-up with them.
0:49I mean, Chris going right to the hat. Nelson seems to be well caffeinated with his Boxer Joes.
0:55Modica had a long night. We all had a long night, Paul.
0:59Nelson's finally smiling after five weeks. Every league I was in with Nelson, he's like 185 plus this week.
1:06So, monster week for you, right, Nelson? It was.
1:09It was. It was a good week. Yeah, and that's why he's smiling.
1:13The lights are shining into the basement. Everything is beautiful.
1:17I came out of the basement. My eyes were like really sore.
1:21I had to adjust to the light. Yeah. If I had to describe fantasy football after five weeks, weeks one, three, and
1:28five, I was like Dan Aykroyd in Trading Places at the end when he's like, looking good, Billy Ray.
1:35You know, you got the champagne glass. And weeks two and four, I'm like Dan Aykroyd in Trading Places when he's the drunken Santa ready to kill everyone.
1:44I thought Paul was walking off. Let me ask you guys this.
1:48I thought Paul was leaving the show. I thought he was playing the last of the empire.
1:54I was like, hold on, I'm in the long show.
1:57Is it Friday or June? Where am I? Paul was in a hurry to go live.
2:03I wanted to ask you guys backstage, but I'm going to ask it now live.
2:08Okay. So, it's the Christopher Columbus edition. Okay. Okay.
2:11So, I'm surrounded by three Italians. Okay. And I'm Portuguese.
2:14So, my question that I wanted to debate backstage was, who's the better explorer back in the day?
2:21Christopher Columbus or Vasco da Gama? On this show, Christopher Columbus is a hero.
2:25Even though he did get lost. He's the most famous guy who got lost.
2:30That's what I'm saying. Look at it. The guy really went to the wrong fucking place, but he became famous and we're
2:38going to say all four of them. So, I'm all about Christopher Columbus.
2:42Yeah. I'll make it a three-person sweep there, Nelson.
2:45All right, boys. Let's go observations. Chris, Nelson, Matt.
2:48I mean, there's so much that went on, right?
2:51Week five. I mean, we're in the second quarter or quadrant as Matt likes to mention.
2:57You know, the storylines. You know, it's kind of, the one thing I'll just start with, and Nelson, to you on that,
3:04you know, on your Patriots and Drake May, right?
3:07Like, you know, the tale of two seasons already, right?
3:11Right? Some guys and teams that you look at dead are coming back.
3:15Some teams that are guys you love are dead.
3:18But this is a fluid week-to-week situation, right, from my observation.
3:22But, boys, let's start going. Round the horn. Yeah.
3:25Paul, I mean, right off the top, first off, unbelievable game last night.
3:29Really weird game. The first half was death. Josh Allen had, like, zero fantasy points.
3:34Wasn't throwing. Had, like, two completions. The game looked like it was going to be a complete bust and a sick under.
3:42Then, all of a sudden, a shootout breaks out.
3:45We get a 37-34 overtime game where everyone and their mother puts up great numbers except our guy, Dalton Kincaid, who's now officially on the milk carton.
3:54We'll get into him. We'll get into him a little bit.
3:58But, you know, real crazy week, as usual. And to your point, Paul, the Puka owners and the Drake May owners, after
4:05three weeks, were sitting in 12th place, probably. Those are the ones that are, you know, flying up the standings right now.
4:13How crazy a couple weeks is that, you know, everybody anointed the Josh Allen owners and teams, the league winner and the team to beat.
4:21And now, you know, after the first half last night, people might have been saying, you know what, I'd rather have Drake May than Josh Allen.
4:30Stick on Drake May real quick. I mean, I tweeted out, like, two weeks ago, you know, and I mentioned on the
4:38show, I think you've got to stay with your studs, and especially when the matchups are in their favor.
4:44And you saw that schedule that just opened up those next nine games.
4:48It's like fantasy gold and, what, 35.8, 51.2 in NFFC scoring the last two weeks.
4:54Yeah, I wonder where he is. I haven't looked, obviously, this morning, but after five weeks, where's Drake May ranked at quarterback?
5:01I mean, obviously, the first three weeks were a disaster, but when you bang out a 36 and a 51 back-to-back, I
5:09bet you he's in a top eight QB right now.
5:12No, he's not. No, he's down. Yeah, he's 13th.
5:15All right. So he's right there, and in a couple weeks, he'll probably be in that QB six or seven range.
5:22So he's still behind your first round pick, Kirk Cousins, just so you know.
5:27Yes, Captain Kirk. Yes, Captain Kirk. Listen, I know we got a lot of observations after another crazy week.
5:33Here's one that stood out to me. You might think I'm crazy, but it's another guy that we left dead after a few weeks.
5:42And am I echoing here? Yeah. I don't know how.
5:45It's probably Spatari's mic or something like that. Yeah, yeah.
5:48Let's blame it on Spatari. Spatari's got the show on in the background listening.
5:53Yeah, that's what he is. He's already listening to himself.
5:57I'm letting AI listen, Nelson, so I can learn something.
6:00It's all about it. That's like the definition of a narcissist.
6:04He's like, he can't be lying. He's like, you know what?
6:07Let me put it on in the background. Let me listen to myself.
6:12Yeah, I want to hear myself talk. Yeah. So we left Marshawn Lloyd for dead.
6:17It was one of the worst picks in the top hundred.
6:21And maybe I'm just seeing things that I'm hopeful for.
6:24But watching that game the other day, he ran pretty well.
6:28I know he only ran for like 35 yards, but he ran with power.
6:33He scored the touchdown. It's more about what's falling beside him.
6:36This Josh Jacobs issue, I don't think is getting resolved anytime soon where people thought it would be a couple weeks ago.
6:44They lose Chris Brooks, who was running decently and a guy in the mix.
6:49It's down to Lloyd and Caleb Johnson, who I have zero faith in.
6:53And this Packers offense is definitely one of those offenses you want pieces in.
6:58So, yeah, their offensive line is trash. But my observation is I think Marshawn Lloyd might be finding his way into fantasy
7:05lineups again, going into week six and beyond. What do you guys think about that?
7:10What about Peter Strung? I mean, he got like, what, 10 touches.
7:14He got one less touch than I think Lloyd.
7:18And Lloyd got the two touchdowns. But again, it was, you know, that running game, that whole running back thing.
7:24Lloyd is the favorite as of now, but I still think it's a disaster, though they do get the Cowboys this week.
7:32Yeah, I mean, they're trying to figure things out, right?
7:35Obviously, it hasn't been good, the running game. Their offensive line is really banged up.
7:40So they're having a hard time due to that also.
7:44And then you got to remember, Lloyd hasn't played in like five years or like the last two years, right?
7:51Lloyd hasn't played. So you got to give the kid a break a little bit where he's trying to acclimate himself.
7:58Steve's just going to double down. He's like Dan Williamson with Ollie Gordon.
8:02He's going to keep doubling down on Drake May.
8:05Nelson, I won't post his other comment so I don't advertise some other podcast.
8:10He was right, though. He did say that on Friday about Marshawn Lloyd.
8:14You got to give him props on that. Guys, what about the – I guess this is kind of Resurrection Tuesday.
8:21Aaron Jones has 71 fantasy points through the first five weeks, right?
8:26Another guy who when you drafted him, you felt like throwing up.
8:30You're like, why am I taking this guy? And he's sitting there just absolutely smashing for the Vikings.
8:36I mean, this is where we're at. Guys, what do you think about Aaron Jones right now?
8:42That was one of my observations. I'll let the other guys talk, but, you know, they go on a bye this week.
8:49And Mason is going to come back in week seven.
8:52What happens? I think as all Mason owners, we're all like, all right, we're going to finally get a running back we
9:00can use back into our lineups real soon. But now with Aaron Jones running as well as he is, I don't know
9:07how that's going to be broken up in the Minnesota backfield.
9:11I don't think they could go completely away from Aaron Jones unless they just said, hey, listen, you know, give us all you got.
9:19We're going to give you all these carries. I think he had 22 carries the other day because he's an aging vet
9:27and they just need to get him to the bye week.
9:31And then after the bye week, turn it over to Mason.
9:34That's what we all hope as Mason owners, I'm sure.
9:38Yeah. Yeah, I mean, he's been very productive. Can't take that away.
9:42But, like, you can also see that, like, he's breaking down.
9:45Like, he's banged up. That it's too many touches for him.
9:49So, I do think coming off the bye that this, you know, heater that he's on is going to be coming to
9:57an end where he's going to be splitting with Mason is my guess.
10:01I mean, his performance has been admirable. I mean, it looked like he was going to leave the game early on.
10:08He got banged up. And then he has, like, what, 123 yards rushing.
10:13But I'm kind of thinking it's going to be Mason.
10:16But Aaron Jones is not going away. They'll still use him.
10:20But I am anxiously awaiting Mason into this offense.
10:23And I think so with the Vikings. What he did, though, was he covered up open wounds for a lot of us fantasy owners.
10:31Anybody that had him on the team as they're running back five or six, just drew him on the team in rounds 14, 15.
10:39You lost a number of guys. Maybe you were the Hampton owner that gave up on him a week or two ago.
10:47The Brees Hall, Travis Etienne. Anybody else that sucks right now at running back.
10:52If you were the Aaron Jones owner, you threw him in there in the last three, four weeks.
10:58And you got good games. Just the same way the Ollie Gordon guys off of Fab got him and put him in the last two weeks.
11:06He's covering up wounds until you get some guys back healthy, until guys start turning their season around.
11:13Maybe you were the Kenneth Walker Chuba owner and you put in Aaron Jones this week.
11:18You got another good game to get you through a bye week.
11:22This is, you know, that's part of the game right there.
11:26And there's not that many running backs that you could plug in that you got deep in the draft or a fab
11:33that are covering up these wounds right now. Can I comment on Joe Colton's thing?
11:38Dobbins, to me, this week was a guy that I did start for the fact that two reasons.
11:45Peyton was taking over the play calling. And I figured he was going to go back to Dobbins heavily.
11:51And they were facing the Chargers. So, I don't get it.
11:55RJ Harvey's been their best, probably their best player overall.
11:58The most explosive player. And he just like vanished.
12:01What happened to him this week? Oh my God.
12:04Unbelievable. They forgot all about Harvey. Everybody was starting to get high on Harvey again.
12:09Not me. Not the Bronco fan. No. He is the, you know, he's only reception dependent, right?
12:15He's that, he's the guy, man, he's the Ty Johnson of the Broncos.
12:20In the sense that if he's not catching the ball, you know, he's not going to run him.
12:26Guys, here's another guy I want to mention. You know, watching last night, we all took elephant shits on everybody who drafted him.
12:34Veteran versus cool rookie. Devontae Adams is wide receiver six in fantasy right now.
12:38This guy goes back and he's absolutely just killing it, right?
12:42Another one where he's receiver four on some of your teams.
12:46And Nelson, if you had some of your heavy four wide dress, he might be receiver five on some of your, you
12:53know, the amount of volume that you do. Guys, talk to me about Devontae Adams and what he's doing this year.
13:00Guys, I'll just jump in real quick with the Devontae Adams thing.
13:05Okay. I have Devontae Adams on a pretty good primetime team as my wide receiver four pole.
13:10Watching last night, it's been an unbelievable first five weeks.
13:14Okay. I'll get, I'll say that. But remember, Puka wasn't there for most of it.
13:19Okay. Devontae Adams, if I, if I was in a trading league, it would be a sell high right now.
13:26Okay. This guy is going to, he, he's not on the field as much.
13:30Okay. Watching that game last night, every other play, it's like, where is Devontae?
13:35He's not even in the game. Okay. They get inside the red zone.
13:40He lucks out with two touchdown passes. Granted, it's part of the game.
13:44At the end of the day, he's got 22 fantasy points and all of us Adams owners are healthy, are happy.
13:51But there's going to be weeks now where he scores five points and disappears.
13:56Okay. This is the Puka show. I've never seen an offense on a quarterback and wide receiver, a quarterback lock in on
14:03a wide receiver, every single play like the Rams do with Stafford to Puka.
14:08Adams, it's been a great five week run, but there's dark days ahead.
14:13That's all I'm going to say. Oh, I mean, I have zero Adams and, you know, right now after five weeks, it
14:20doesn't look good, but credit to him on that last drive, that last catch.
14:25He went over 50 yards and I hit my 14 parlay and I was very happy.
14:30There you go. The Matt Modica, I hit another five player parlay.
14:34I don't even do, I haven't even been doing parlays.
14:38I just do the receiving things, but, you know.
14:41That Rams offense, guys, though, you know, because I hear you on Adams.
14:45I get it. But, man, I just think that offense, that last drive, as bad as the Bills' defense is, I mean, they're down seven points.
14:54They moved the ball like they were playing flag football against a high school girls team, right?
15:00It was literally, they even lined up and ran the ball in, didn't even use their timeout.
15:06I mean, I just feel like that offense is so good that they can just, I think everyone eats there.
15:12I mean, you guys have mentioned him. We've mentioned him.
15:16Kyron Williams, I mean, not to be said again, the guy's just, you know, everyone who didn't love him is kicking themselves in the ass.
15:24But I still think Devontae has value just because I think that offense, Chris, is going to score a lot.
15:31I don't think they're slowing down at all. And by the way, they butchered that end of the game.
15:38Even though they got in the end zone with four seconds left with running Kyron, it was almost as bad as the Washington end of game.
15:46They debacle. It was a complete debacle. They had a timeout.
15:50The play ended with 19 seconds. They could have called a timeout, but first and goal on the two-yard line.
15:57You run four plays out of the shotgun if need be.
16:01They almost completely ruined the whole game. I've actually been thinking this to myself.
16:06Obviously, the Rams is a high-powered offense. I actually think that they would be putting up video game numbers right now if
16:13they ran the hurry-up all game long. So their two-minute offense and how they execute is, like, the best I've seen in, like, years on the offense.
16:22If they just kept the foot on the pedal the whole time, I think that, like, that's – they're doing their best
16:30work is when they're in the hurry-up. I think that would kill the quarterback, though, Nelson.
16:35I mean, he's 41 years old. I don't think he could – I don't think he could maintain that pace personally.
16:42But I hear you. We all want our offenses and teams to go no huddle, to get off more plays and everything.
16:50But they do – they can't do it because of the defense.
16:54You know, you go three and out on a no huddle and your defense is back on the field 45 seconds later.
17:01You just can't do it. But when teams go no huddle, yeah, it looks – the game looks so easy.
17:08They're like, why – you know, you're sitting at home.
17:12You're like, why don't we just go no huddle?
17:15It's easier to complete these passes. They go up and down the field.
17:19These teams are in two-minute drive offenses and they go up and down the field.
17:24But meanwhile, when they huddle and everything, the game is slow and it's shit.
17:29But they have to do it to protect their defenses.
17:32I mean, I got two comments on the Rams from last night, two takeaways.
17:37One was if you were a Terrence Ferguson owner when he went down.
17:41I mean, Higby was there to be picked up and he's been awesome.
17:46So, you know, that's just been a perfect fill.
17:49You guys get like 15 points a week. And the other thing is I'm going to go against the Greek here.
17:56Look, it hasn't been good and Kyron's been awesome.
17:59I totally bow to that. It was a terrible miss not taking the guy.
18:04But what I took away from last night was Blake Corum catching three passes is huge.
18:09Getting him involved in the passing game more. This kid's got the juice.
18:14And right now it's not a great pick, obviously.
18:17But he's somebody that I did start a lot last night.
18:21You know, with Kenneth Walker shares that were on buys and stuff.
18:25And, you know, he got you over that double-digit hump that you want for an RB2 with that flex play if you needed it.
18:33And he's in a spot where if something does happen to Kyron, I mean, this guy, he's a really good running back.
18:40So the story has not been written yet. The pick doesn't look great from a usage standpoint.
18:46But as far as if you watch the games, like Corum looks the part.
18:51Like he looks really good. So it's not from a standpoint of like he took him and the guy's a dud and
18:58he sucks or whatever and he looks bad and he's not getting usage.
19:03It's the opposite. But we expected kind of like what we saw the first two weeks, right, where he was kind of splitting a little bit with Kyron.
19:12But then Kyron got on a heater and got going.
19:16And plus, I think part of the factor too was that Puka being out, they wanted Kyron's receiving ability on the field
19:23a little more to give Stafford another option. And I was thinking, I don't know about the snap counts, but it looked
19:31like Corum played last night a little more than he had the last two weeks.
19:36Definitely most. He also got his first. And you wonder if that's a plan.
19:41And you wonder if that's a plan for the Rams here is, yeah, Kyron was on a heater so much.
19:47So, you know, McVay's got, you know, the pedigree to go with the hot hand, but maybe give the veteran a lot
19:55more early in the season and then slowly, you know, bring him back a little bit while Corum ramps up midseason because
20:02like Nelson said, it's not that it's a bad pick or he looks bad.
20:07He looks really good when he gets the ball, you know?
20:11So they have that other weapon to bring into the offense and give more to as you get into the season.
20:18So I'd be excited if I had Corum still on my roster and was in somewhat decent shape.
20:24I think there'll see a lot of him, Chris, this week.
20:28They're playing the vaunted Arizona Cardinals. They may score 50 this week after what happened last night.
20:34I just think part of the Kyron production was a byproduct of Puka being out.
20:39They wanted the receiving back in the game. And then you're going to start seeing where Corum's going to be.
20:46The snaps are going to go up for Corum here the next few weeks because Kyron's a small dude.
20:52He's physical, but he's a smaller dude. So you don't want him taking a huge pounding, especially when your backup running back looks great.
21:00Yeah. And Paul, to your point, good point there.
21:03Listen, you play a Monday night overtime game. The veteran's going to get less of the carries this Sunday in Arizona.
21:10They'll probably be beating the shit out of this team.
21:14This is a Corum game where you can play him as a solid RB2, I think, versus Arizona this upcoming week.
21:21He'll get enough piece of the pie where he can produce for sure.
21:25While we're on the topic, real quick, I want to give a couple shout-outs.
21:30First off, we're giving too much air time to the Greek already.
21:34So enough with the Greek. Let him go back to reading his dinosaur books like he was doing yesterday.
21:41But I do want to give a shout-out to him and Nelson.
21:45I believe they're leading the FFWC main event after five weeks.
21:48So shout-out to the team of Nelson and the Greek.
21:52Yeah, I was hoping someone passed me, actually, last night.
21:55So I wouldn't be in first. Okay. I wouldn't be in first in week six.
22:00Okay. I also want to give a major shout-out to our guy Frankie.
22:05Frankie Momola. We all know how much he's battling still.
22:08He's fighting for the last six months, leading the online championship after five weeks.
22:13Nice. So shout-out to our boy Frankie. The group chat is on fire.
22:17A couple leaders in overalls. That's not to go without our guy here, Spateri, who was leading the prime for about a
22:25week with his moment in the sun. I asked Frank if he was more happy about leading the OC or Igor Shester could have blown his knee out.
22:34No. And he'd laugh, so I think I know which one it was.
22:39Yeah, exactly. Anyway, those two shout-outs. Go ahead. Go ahead, Paul.
22:43To Duke's comment down there, kickers do matter. Schrader's been like a cheat code.
22:47But what about Will Reichert of the Vikings? You can't leave that guy out of it.
22:53Matt, I say it every week, so I didn't want to say it again this week with the kickers.
22:59But, man, oh, man, is it a kicker season already?
23:03How about Jason Myers? 25 points. And I saw the Guilds stat.
23:07Did you see the Guilds tweet that I retweeted yesterday?
23:10Jason Myers, week five, 25.5 fantasy points. Colston Loveland through five weeks, 24 fantasy points.
23:15Oh, my God. You can't even make it up.
23:18The pain. Unbelievable. Your top kicker has 83 points.
23:21The Colts, 74 out of the Vikings. The Texans kicker had a nice week.
23:26Our boy. Always. He's a beast. You got – I think it looks just at least 10 to 15 kickers over 50 points.
23:34And you know who isn't really killing it right now?
23:37Aubrey, who we are. It's been terrible. Aubrey's been – It's actually – this is going to sound crazy, but I actually think Aubrey might be a drop.
23:47And here's my – I love it. Yeah. Here we go.
23:51I'm being serious. I'm not trying to, you know, rage bait here.
23:55My thought process with kickers and how I do it is I want a kicker on a team that's favored going into the game.
24:03And – or at least going to be a competitive game.
24:07The Cowboys defense is so bad that they're always playing from behind and playing catch-up that he just doesn't – he doesn't
24:14kick enough field goals is the problem. Yeah. Yeah.
24:17That's my opinion on it. I will disagree with you on that one, Nelson.
24:22He's definitely not droppable, but I understand your point.
24:25You know? Well, Nelson, in terms of attempts for a kicker, you know, he's got 12, which is like fourth.
24:32Right? So he's still getting attempts. I'm just looking here.
24:35I mean, so he's getting the attempts, but he's also missed three.
24:39Right? So think about it. He hits three field goals, which he usually does.
24:44That's, you know, nine points. He's vaulted right up into the top three.
24:48So, yeah, he's also – So he missed three, so he's in the Meeves category.
24:54He's scared. He's getting cut, right? When you miss 50 yarders indoors like that multiple times, you're off my radar.
25:00You got to go. You got to go. You're out.
25:04Nelson, any other observations from you about this week and anything else going on?
25:08I think one of the observations is that Brock Bowers and Trey McBride, wherever they were being drafted, they're worth it.
25:16They're worth it. So, you know, second round, Bowers, a little later, McBride, or third round, McBride in the NFFC.
25:22But, like, Brock Bowers and McBride in the FFPC, like, well worth it.
25:27Like, those guys look like difference makers. I mean – McBride and Michael Wilson got huge bump-ups as well.
25:33I mean, even though Marvin Harrison was trash and they shipped him out of town, I mean, all the targets are going to be consolidated to those two.
25:43Kendrick Bourne will get a little bit as well.
25:46But, man, it's a dream situation right now for all you Michael Wilson owners.
25:51You've got to be loving life. Yeah, Chris, I'm a big Michael Wilson owner.
25:55However, I'm a little worried. Yes. I'm worried about, number one, I know the team sucks.
26:01They're always behind. But the team is really bad.
26:04I think Brissette's going to get moved. Right? That team is shit.
26:08They're done. Somebody either will need him to start or back up.
26:12They're elevating – what's his name? The kid from Miami, the quarterback, which – yeah, he looked good in preseason, guys.
26:19But we know if he's facing a team, you know, down the season that's in the playoff hunt, they worry me a
26:27little bit just for the potential instability of quarterback.
26:30No, but see, for me, it's different. I think losing Marv hurts them because he was the sacrificial X and was opening up a lot.
26:38He's slow as shit. That was the problem. Why was he the X?
26:43Yeah, but whatever. He was taken away. I'm not saying I'm worried.
26:47I should change that. I want to monitor going forward.
26:50Like, you know, I mean, look, Trey McBroad, that catch he made.
26:54Who the hell was that guy, Teagan, who caught two touchdowns?
26:58I've never heard of a guy before in my life.
27:01Listen, I look at that last couple weeks and just see the target share.
27:06Michael Wilson had 17 targets a couple weeks ago.
27:09You're going to see a lot of those games where him and McBride are in double-digit targets every week.
27:16The defense is garbage as well, and it's high-scoring games.
27:19But to Nelson's point, you know, if you drafted Bowers and McBride, you were the smart ones.
27:25A lot of us were fading the early tight end.
27:28But I'm going to throw in two other names that I think can compete with them and are going to be all
27:36the league winners that you need at tight end.
27:39Tyler Warren is who we thought and hoped Loveland would be.
27:43He was a better pick around later than Loveland.
27:46And if you went down the board, if you remember that cluster F of tight ends that everybody was loving, the Kraft,
27:53Pitts, Fannin, and then the guy that should be mentioned with the Tyler Warrens of the world, Sam Laporte is having a
28:01really great season in this Lions offense. So if you're not the Bowers and McBride owner this year, you could get bailed
28:08out by being the Warren or Laporte owner. I thought you were going to mention Likely.
28:14Isaiah Likely has 23 targets in the last two games.
28:17He has three games of double-digit targets this season.
28:20I did not forget him. I did not forget him.
28:23I will say this. I don't think Likely will be consistent.
28:27Okay? We saw a couple short weeks of Likely.
28:30Yes, he had the two monster weeks. And it's fresh in our heads and it's easy for us as fantasy analysts and
28:38everything to come off of this week and go, oh my God, he gave 32 points.
28:43He's a monster. Next week could be a four or five in this offense with Likely.
28:49Sure, right now he's been very good and a good pick.
28:52He's tight end two. Yeah, no. He's tight end two off of two monster weeks though, Nelson, right?
28:58I mean, did he have a third good week?
29:02I'm trying to think. It's been – who's got his numbers up?
29:06Anybody? I got him. Week one was a monster.
29:09Week five was a monster. Two big weeks. Two terrible weeks.
29:12One so-so week. There you go. Exactly. So it feels like Laporte has been really solid every week.
29:19Tyler Warren, I can't say that as well. I guess Tyler Warren, I know, had one or two short weeks, small weeks as well.
29:27Well, Chris, if you look at guys, if you look at tight end in general, I mean, Nelson, you're right.
29:34Those two are – I mean, they're game changers.
29:37But I thought this year, and it looks like it's been valid, tight end's deep, right?
29:42You got at least 15 tight ends over 50 points.
29:45There's a lot of guys producing. Matt was talking about Pat Friermuth, right, all summer.
29:51Got – you know, Gistecki, who no one likes, is producing.
29:54Jawan Johnson, my boy, I thought, stepped up once.
29:57You know, there was the injuries to Tyson in New Orleans.
30:01I mean, Kincaid started out like a house of fire.
30:04Now it's been terrible. But tight end, if you waited – and, you know, Nelson, you did a lot of double tap in rounds 9 and 10, right?
30:14Likely Goddard. Goddard's back now. Goddard's going to produce.
30:17If Goddard's on the field, he will produce in that offense.
30:21So I think tight end in general, right, you got your studs, but you also have a lot of depth.
30:28So most teams should have a good tight end.
30:31I'm just saying that like with McBride and Bowers, there was a lot of landmines where they went.
30:37So like in the NFFC, I've never been a big proponent of drafting early tight ends.
30:42So I didn't really like fade – like I kind of semi-faded those guys because I was always looking for like a
30:50wide receiver, especially like McBride in the third round.
30:53I thought wide receiver was automatic. I needed to take in the NFFC.
30:57And I'm just saying that like some of the receivers that I took there are not exactly doing all that well.
31:04Give me the production from Trey McBride. Week in, week out, the dude's just – he's going to get the targets on
31:12that shitty team where they're always playing from behind.
31:15One guy we haven't mentioned who I think is one of the guys at the tight end position I would want to
31:22have rest of season, especially after Sunday's injury to Debo, is George Kittle.
31:27Week one in Australia, you know, he was coming off the thing, played with – I don't know how many snaps.
31:34This week he only had 7.4, but he had an illness before the game or whatever.
31:39I don't know what he was dealing with, but he's got 18, 26, 17, and they're running out of receivers.
31:46Just, I mean, that alone – They don't have any left.
31:50They don't have any left. Yeah. He is primed for a – if he can stay on the field and defeat the substation.
31:58Think about this. Two of the coldest names on the board that nobody really wanted to draft were Mike Evans and George Kittle, right?
32:06In draft season, the last – I was in on Evans.
32:10You were on Evans, Matt? Yes. Remember when you guys were cheering and I was like, what are you doing?
32:16Remember our little text? I'm like, I got Evans.
32:20All right. Well, listen, you were in the minority then.
32:23That was going to Newport that day, Chris, and we wished bad things on Mike Evans.
32:28He was going right out to the yard. Listen, things have broke unbelievably perfect for the Evans and Kittle owners in the last – since the season started.
32:38Stripling goes down. Debo comes in. Debo goes down.
32:41Who's the other guy that went – oh, obviously, Pearsall, you know, went down.
32:46People were drafting all season long saying, hey, there's too many mouths to feed in the 49ers offense.
32:52Evans was hurt. Kittle might not come back to week five after IR.
32:56And now look up. It's week six and, you know, they're the only two healthy and everyone else is dead.
33:03So crazy run out for the 49ers, Kittle and Evans.
33:06Matt, any other – What are some suggestions you'd like to make?
33:11Oh, well, running backs I think we got to talk a little about.
33:15Does Ashton Gentry have a plantar fasciitis issue? That's one thing that's scaring the hell out of me.
33:21And the Cleveland backfield. Jenkins is in a boot.
33:24Sanders hurt his hip. I know they're going to possibly open up Samson's window.
33:29What's going on there? I mean – Is Jim Brown available or is he on IR still?
33:35Well, you know, Cleveland's an interesting team. You know, we kid about them, but they've been pretty successful.
33:41Guys, one team I want to touch on quickly is Atlanta, right?
33:45You talk about an offense that – talk about a tale of – and then I think we should talk about the Pats a little bit with Nelson.
33:54Let's talk about Atlanta first. I mean, you know, the first two weeks were ugly.
34:00Penix comes in. Of all people, the hero. Now he's banged up.
34:04What's your guys' take on Atlanta? Yeah. Trouble ahead now because it looks like Penix probably has some either broken ribs or fractured rib or whatever.
34:12The fact that he couldn't get back in there in overtime.
34:16Things were starting to look really up, right? You know, if you're the Drake London owner, life was good again.
34:23After the first couple weeks without Penix, Penix comes in and now all the people that took advantage of Drake London at
34:31the end of the second round falling the last couple days of draft season, they were the ones eating because they were
34:38the ones pairing him with Gibbs and Bijon and then most likely coming back at the turn and getting a Watson or
34:45Parker Washington, which is something I wanted to talk about with one of my observations.
34:51So those combinations right now were available the last few days of draft season.
34:55London now has to deal with Tua. Tua is absolute garbage.
34:59I don't want to hear anything about, oh, he could get the ball out.
35:04He's absolute garbage. And if he has to come in in a game versus the Bears where, you know, we were all
35:11looking ahead to saying, oh, this could be a really nice, fun game with Caleb coming back hopefully this week as well.
35:19Now Penix is on the shelf and the offense might go right back into the gutter again.
35:25Yeah, I mean, I'm very concerned about that. Look, Tua isn't Cooper Rush.
35:29I'll say that much. I don't know how good he is.
35:33Not as good as him or not as bad as him.
35:37Do you want brain cancer or do you want stomach cancer?
35:40Which one? Yeah, I mean, shit. Yeah, no, but I think it affects the whole offense.
35:46I think Bijon gets Nick too. I don't think it's just London.
35:50I think that whole offense is going to be affected by it.
35:54So hopefully – Just some Kyle Pitts life show up.
35:57Here we are. Chris, I'm – Wow. Hey, Paul, I'm sorry.
36:01I got to stop the show because somebody wrote in the comments going after your – Yeah, I saw that.
36:08I saw that. And I think you need to respond.
36:11They call you – No, I – They catch you – Well, I think the AI put the wrong boat name on the – They caught you slipping.
36:21They caught you slipping. I love getting a history fact check on a fantasy football show.
36:26This is a new level. You know what? I'm here for it, though.
36:31I'm here for the Mayflower versus the ships that Columbus – Chris, observation.
36:35You said you want to make a couple of points on a couple of guys.
36:40Say that again? You wanted to make some observations, Chris, before we wrap up the – No, I just said it.
36:47I'm just – I was talking. You know, we had talked about, you know, the advantage of Gibbs and Bijon owners right now.
36:55And I'll throw in Chase. You know, Jamar Chase in the three holes has been a really solid pick.
37:02You know, the runout at the end of the draft season when you were getting Drake London and Chris Alave at the
37:09end of the – And Neighbors at the end of the second.
37:13You know, it's really coming perfectly and a major advantage for the people that have the Gibbs and Bijon owner.
37:20You wanted to be in the first two, if not three, spots on the draft board.
37:25And my reason is this. It's based around Christian Watson and Parker Washington.
37:30A lot of people, you know, were taking these guys right at 36, 37, 38, right in that turn.
37:36And right now it looks like an unbelievable combination.
37:39So I think that – Yeah, the time out there on that turn, on the 3-4 turn, people weren't taking Parker Washington, maybe outside of May.
37:48But Christian Watson really at that 3-4 turn a lot.
37:52They were going a little later in the fourth.
37:55And if you started with a Gibbs or Bijon, there's a chance you've got a Devonta Smith who's missed a couple of games.
38:02That third round, you could have got Ladd. You could have got Hurdy.
38:07What, if you took Devonta Smith early at 23, 24?
38:10But nobody was really doing that, Matt. Devonta Smith was living in 25 to 30 range.
38:16He was going at the end of the second round a lot.
38:20You got somebody on the show that made a living of taking Christian Watson at the turn in 36, 37.
38:27Mike Santos was taking Parker Washington, Christian Watson on the turn.
38:30That was late. That was that last week. That was that last week.
38:35Well, I'm not talking about the guys that were drafting these main events in July, Matt.
38:40I'm talking – No, I'm just talking about the entire draft season.
38:44For the most part of draft season. Parker Washington weren't getting out of the top 38.
38:50And these are the teams that – Parker Washington is not going top 36 for most – I was getting on our text read.
38:58There goes Modica drafting Parker Washington again early. That was not happening.
39:02So, I mean, that happened later on. You just said my point again.
39:06You were drafting Parker Washington early in June, July.
39:09And where was he going in main events the last two weeks of the season?
39:15The last week, I'm saying. I'm just making the point.
39:18So, exactly what I'm saying. For the B. John and Gibbs owners, Parker Washington was a turn pick.
39:24And these are the winning combinations along with Christian Watson.
39:28And what about the people when Waddle fell that were taking Waddle there in the third?
39:33That were taking Ladd? That were taking Birding? His name is not going to be spoken on any show of ours.
39:40Those are three guys that are hurting you, you know?
39:44I just looked at guys September 1st primetime that I did.
39:47I got Parker Washington in the fourth round with the sixth pick.
39:51So, he was bouncing. Yeah, he was middle of the fourth round.
39:55He was bouncing around, I think. Neighbors. You remember, guys, as the drafts moved on.
40:01Guys were moving. Neighbors, when he got healthy, right?
40:04He started replacing things. I agree with Chris. Devontae Smith moved way up.
40:08Devontae Smith was going in that second. End of that second round turn quite often.
40:13Right? People were grabbing him. Sometimes he'd go in the first pick, you know, the third.
40:19But he found himself, you know, in that second round for a big part of the summer.
40:24But I think guys have benefited tremendously from, you know, Watson was a fourth round pick, right?
40:30I rarely saw Watson, right, going in the third round.
40:34But, man, when you were waiting on those guys and you started to suck them up, they're looking like real league winners now.
40:41Nelson, speaking of early picks, that I think, you know, it's time to start talking about him.
40:47Because I think his return is imminent, along with your New England Patriots return to excellence.
40:53Talk to me about A.J. Brown. What's the latest on him, Nelson?
40:57What do you think of the Pats? Schedule's getting a little easier.
41:01Is A.J. coming back? I mean, his time is coming up any minute now, right?
41:06Yeah. So there have been some positive reports in the last week that he's been around the locker room, no limp, no
41:13sign of, you know, anything really wrong, that he's been, you know, walking normal.
41:18And then Vrabel on his morning show actually said yesterday that he thinks that there's a good possibility that Brown is back at practice this week.
41:27So, you know, we've got to hold our breath and see if that happens because that would be a big boost to
41:34my teams if he can get back on the field.
41:38And they have Nelson coming up, the Jets, Bears, Dolphins, Green Bay, and Detroit.
41:43As Chris likes to call it, it's a fantasy carnival.
41:46Yeah, that's nice. I love that. And hold on, just to prove that I'm not crazy, from September 1st to the 13th of July.
41:54Now we're back at practice. Yeah, we're on to like the next topic.
41:59And Watson went 4-9, so I'm not nuts. I thought I transitioned us from that to the New York Super.
42:05Nelson, in the New York Super, did you double tap Watson and Parker Washington at the turn?
42:11I'm not saying it didn't happen. I'm just showing you.
42:15Watson and somebody. What did it say? No, it was Watson.
42:18What did we do? It was Gibbs. Gibbs. Did you take what's his name?
42:23J-Mo, right? J-Mo. We stacked Detroit. So it was Goff, Gibbs, J-Mo with Watson.
42:28That's what it was. All right. Anyway, listen, A.J.
42:31Brown, you know, in my mind, I thought he was done until like weeks eight or nine.
42:37But if you guys all get A.J. Brown back, even not this week, but the following week, it's going to be an absolute score.
42:45Things happened real quick these last five, first five weeks.
42:48If you're in good shape and you get A.J.
42:51Brown back. But it was a pretty bad high ankle sprain and wide receivers tend to struggle throughout the rest of the
42:59season, even when they come back with decreased speed and everything.
43:03Let's see how he, you know, performs once he's back.
43:06You know, he could be a little bit of a shell of himself.
43:10But one night, Chris, had had the high ankle sprain.
43:14Yeah, I know. Nelson, I don't want to put this in your Cheerios.
43:18One guy who I thought was moving well on Thursday night coming off that high ankle sprain was Abuka.
43:25Right. Abuka started again. You know, he was catching a lot of short passes, but he looked like he's kind of back to at least physically 100 percent.
43:34Right. And Baker comes back. He could be good.
43:37So, you know, maybe because it's been one. He got opening day.
43:41It's four weeks already. So I would say maybe the first week slow for Brown, but I think, you know, if he's
43:49the way that Pats are starting to wake up, you know, he's got to be somebody.
43:54If you're stashing him, you know, he's going to make a big difference on a lot of teams.
44:00The question is, is Baker going to be good?
44:03That offense is outside of what Bucky did versus the Cowboys.
44:07It's been one of the biggest disappointments in fantasy so far.
44:11F Dallas, by the way, that was just absolutely pathetic on Thursday night.
44:15And that C.D. Lamb game was really painful to eat, to start the week off, you know, coming off of a 40 point game for C.D.
44:24Lamb to get the two point burger to eat to start the weekend.
44:29Did not feel good. What was crazy prior to that Thursday night game?
44:33After the first three weeks, they had the same amount of targets, Lamb and Pickens.
44:38And then, you know, week four happened and it was good to see Pickens.
44:43He was in a smash matchup with the cover one by Tampa, whatever the hell they play.
44:49And thankfully, he delivered. You know what team, guys, I want you to talk a little bit about that I think has tremendous fantasy impact.
44:57They've been extremely erratic the first few seasons, the first few weeks.
45:01But now our friend Caleb Williams is coming back.
45:04Talk to me about your views on the Bears, right?
45:08The Bears, I mean, Colston Loveland, I know everyone's going to curse them out.
45:12But the Bears have serious impact guys that could change.
45:16They're not doing it yet, except for Swift. Swift has been pretty good.
45:20But guys, what do you think about the Bears with Caleb coming back?
45:25You know, can't be worse than it has been these last couple weeks.
45:29You know, Tyson Badgent, you know, must have had a ski mask on when he got that contract extension.
45:36He looked absolutely terrible these last couple weeks. You know, I thought he would come in, put up some really good numbers
45:43versus a terrible Packers defense that lost two starters the week before from an already bad defense.
45:49And they couldn't do anything right. The only person you're getting stuff out of right now is DeAndre Swift, who's giving you decent numbers.
45:57It gave you a decent game again this week with 17 points.
46:01But the receivers here, just everyone's underachieving the whole year.
46:05You know, and I think it hurts even more because if you were invested in this Bears offense straight down the board,
46:12which a lot of us were me at the top of the list.
46:16I have Bears on almost every one of my teams.
46:20I was all in. It's week one. They come out.
46:23They put a 60 60 points up. They go up and down the field.
46:28Everything looks unbelievable. And then since then, it's been shit.
46:31You know, they had the Monday Niner with Case Keenum, who got Luther Burden going that one game and then right back to nothing.
46:40This week was a real disappointment. I really thought this Bears Packers game was going to be a sneaky 35 31 type
46:47game with everybody eating kind of like what we saw last night.
46:51And only one team showed up offensively and everybody else.
46:55It was another shit burger. So a couple of things with the Bears.
46:59I mean, week one, they ran for over 300 yards in in that game against Carolina.
47:04I mean, Burden has been a major disappointment outside of that Monday night performance.
47:09And Roshon Johnson to me is somebody that I'm happy that I got.
47:14I didn't get all the shares, but I got some shares because I want a Bears running back.
47:20If something is up with Kyle Menungai with his toe or his thumb or if Swift goes down, you know, we got
47:27going forward to think this offense is going to click and get better and get on track.
47:33So that's why I kept your schedule, guys. But look at the fantasy goodness.
47:38The last four weeks of fantasy season at Miami, at Buffalo, home for the Packers, home for the Lions.
47:44Let me get my magnifying glass out here. You're blind.
47:48Go get your eyes checked, you know. I'm reading it to you, though.
47:52But look at that schedule. I brought up the Bears because I know right now everyone's not thinking much about them, but
48:00they have a serious amount of impact potentially if they're healthy with this schedule.
48:04From week 11 on, especially like, you know. Yeah.
48:07Yeah. But even like the Patriots defense coming up on that Thursday night after this week, the Patriots defense is falling apart.
48:15Right. I mean, I don't know if Gonzalez will be back.
48:19He's missed two weeks now, but they're losing guys on defense.
48:22Their defense isn't anything to be scared about. Yeah, they have Seattle, but look what Seattle's defense just let up versus San Francisco.
48:30So there's not any defenses to be scared of this year.
48:34You know, there's some individual matchups with really good corners that you might be scared of.
48:39But, you know, an offense like the Bears, when you watch them and they're at full health, there's not any, you know,
48:47you can't just shut one guy down. They got weapons on the field here.
48:52Kalief Raymond got banged up late in that game the other day.
48:56I wonder if he misses some time. And that'll even help out, you know, the Burden, the Dunze and Loveland owners a little bit more.
49:04But, yeah, I'm excited to get Caleb back. And hopefully this offense starts taking off.
49:09I think it could be, Paul, like you said, from week six or seven on, you know, back to what we hopefully
49:17saw a sneak peek of in week one. Yeah, we need to get rid of this Kalief Raymond experience for this first time.
49:25He's crammed back down to earth, though, too. You know, it's just annoying having him out there and he gets a couple,
49:32you know, targets away from these other guys. Are we done with Colson Loveland?
49:37Done meaning, like, are we, like, conceding that, like, he's just going to be a bust this year?
49:43I'm going to throw it right back at you now, Nelson.
49:47What does it matter if you're the Colson Loveland owner that we took him in round four?
49:52Okay. Have you started benching him already? Have you considered it?
49:56I haven't considered it to this point, but after this past week, now I have to start considering it because I just don't, I don't see it.
50:05Because I was on this show just a couple of weeks ago and I said to you guys that you can't, like,
50:13you got to weather the storm and you got to ride the guy because as soon as he starts putting up his
50:20big games and he's on the bench, it's kind of like the whipsaw effect where it's a double whammy.
50:27Like, you took the bagels, you know, with him in your starting lineup and now you're going to bench him and he's going to put up big games.
50:36But I just, I'm not seeing the glimmer of, I'm not seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.
50:43So that brought, you know, we talked about a pre-show real quick and you kind of run into these situations where certain guys are not benchable.
50:52And, and we said it, I said it with all my Dalton Kincaid shares.
50:57You have Dalton Kincaid a lot as well. We all do, I'm sure.
51:01I feel like Loveland is basically the same guy, even though one was drafted in the fourth round, one was drafted in the eighth round.
51:10You know, you know what they could potentially give any week.
51:13They could be 25 fantasy points from either one of these guys.
51:18We've ate some frigging, you know, twos and ones and fours from these guys.
51:22Do you have the balls to now go put them on the bench and, you know, sit there?
51:28It's going to hurt even worse when they have the seven for 90 and two touchdown game on your bench after eating the twos and the threes.
51:38So there's certain players that are just unbenchable, especially at the tight end position.
51:42But what do you do if you're the Loveland and Kincaid owners, unless you back them up with a likely or a
51:50Goddard, or maybe you pick a Jawan Johnson in the right situation or a couple other of these guys.
51:56Let me give you an example. So to Paul's point earlier in the show, he said tight end is deep this year, right?
52:04So you have Colson Loveland and Pat Friermuth on your team.
52:08Does Patty enter the conversation at any point now?
52:11No. For me, I can't do it. And Friermuth's outscoring him each week.
52:15I would. See, I think Loveland's benchable until he gets there.
52:19I mean, if you got options, but you can't obviously cut the guy.
52:24But if you have options. No, no, no. I'm not talking about cutting.
52:28With the quarterbacks that they've had, right? I mean, Bajan, he is awful.
52:32I mean, he's nowhere near the NFL field again.
52:35God forbid they have to put him back out there.
52:39But Loveland, with Caleb coming back, again, because he's the type of guy where, you know, three weeks ago he's dead.
52:46And then all of a sudden this guy's putting up numbers.
52:50But until that flips, I would start Friermuth ahead of him.
52:53I would start Juwan Johnson ahead of him. I'm starting guys that are producing versus waiting.
52:59Again, if Caleb was the quarterback, Chris, he's in for me.
53:03These backup quarterbacks to me on the bench until the offense is right.
53:07That's fair. But if Caleb's starting this weekend, I'm starting Loveland.
53:11I'm going to have a hard time not playing him, like Chris said.
53:15I don't want to go. Colston Loveland could be the Drake May of tight ends.
53:20Yeah, absolutely. He only has Eli Raritan ahead of him right now in the stats.
53:25So he's got a big Raritan ahead of him.
53:29I don't know. Raritan's coming on. He did. What is it, 5 for 57?
53:33Guys, who would have thought we're here October 13th.
53:36And Colston Loveland is behind stalwarts like Greg Dolchich, Noah Fant, Cade Otten.
53:41And of course, your Denver Broncos, Evan Ingram, even has more points.
53:45No, it's ugly. That's what I'm saying. I don't see the glimmer of hope with him.
53:50It's now five weeks in, and you've got scrubs outscoring him.
53:54My glimmer of hope would be the way the end of season last year when Caleb was quarterback and all those targets and receptions he got.
54:03So if Caleb comes back, I think I got to start him.
54:07I just don't want to be that guy that stood there, got punched in the face repeatedly, and never swung back when
54:14this guy puts up a 30-point game. You know, so.
54:18These are the decisions that make or break fantasy seasons.
54:21When do you get off the bus on Loveland?
54:24Are you going to sit there and eat seven straight bad weeks of Loveland giving you a three at your tight end position?
54:32My lineups this week, I go down. You know, we all put up some decent points on a lot of our teams.
54:40I look at my tight end position, and it's Kincaid everywhere, Loveland everywhere, Fannin everywhere.
54:45Every team, other than all my Tyler Warren shares, thank God.
54:48But other than that, it was a four-point or less, and it's tough to go through life like that with these guys.
54:56Even, you know, like I said, Fannin, he had that one monster week.
55:00Fannin hasn't given shit in the last couple weeks either.
55:04And then there was week one, I believe, or two where he was like one or two points.
55:10So you've gotten three out of five bad Fannin games.
55:13So when do you jump ship on a lot of these guys and go to a better option?
55:19If I could sign up for a tight end that just gives me eight, nine, ten points each week, like a Goddard,
55:27I think I might take it and move on.
55:30You know, I can't eat these Kincaid and Loveland games each week now.
55:34Yeah, because that one point from Fannin, like just putting up his stats here.
55:39I mean, woof. You were quick with that, Spatari.
55:42I like it. You know what? I'll tell you.
55:45Well, you trash me, and then you give me a comment.
55:49So I've got to build you up to break you down, Spatari.
55:53I know I'm not supposed to mention the VUX name again, but he's got to stop saying Patty.
55:59It's Muth. I don't know who the hell when he says Patty.
56:03I'm thinking of like Patty Ice or something. It's Muth.
56:07Anybody that's doing well. Anybody that's doing well is his guy.
56:10But I want to ask you a question about that ties into drafting and veterans.
56:16We've talked a lot about Aaron Jones, Devontae Adams.
56:19And I personally am not a big drafter of rookies.
56:22I think rookies in the NFL, there are the exceptions, but they don't produce more often than not.
56:28This year, right? We've got Jeremiah Love, who's been all over the place, right?
56:33The receivers. Denzel Boston's probably the best rookie. Guys, when you look at the season now, you're five weeks in.
56:40People are jumping on these rookies. There's Carnell Tate, who would probably be pretty good if he didn't play on the worst offense in the NFL, right?
56:49But what do you guys, when you look at the rookies and your drafting next year, I mean, Jeremiah Smith might be the exception, right?
56:57But are you guys still saying, you know what, a good rookie I'm going to go after?
57:03Because I feel time and time again, veterans outproduced these rookies in fantasy football.
57:08Depends on the rookie. It depends on the rookie.
57:11Matt, that's the answer, Matt. Yeah, listen, like I have no problem drafting rookies at a college.
57:17I follow college pretty well. I know the player pool real well when the players come out.
57:23This year, I have never drafted less of rookies, first-year guys at any of the positions than I did this year.
57:30It was actually one of my strategies was to completely fade the whole rookie class.
57:35You know, I might have a share of Tate here.
57:38Tate was a fifth-rounder. I have one share of Tate over 50 drafts.
57:43You know, I have no Malachi Lemon. I have no anybody else.
57:47So the running backs, I thought, sucked the rookie class.
57:50So nothing across the board, really. But it depends on the year, Paul, you know?
57:55That's fair. Yeah, I just, there's something that I look back, I try to think of back draft times.
58:02You know, people pushing Jadarian Price way up. Jeremiah Love, right?
58:05I mean, Matt, you love Jeremiah Love. I mean, he's got his job.
58:10I still like Jeremiah Love. I love him for this season.
58:14I've said it the whole summer, and I'll keep saying it.
58:17I think he's the second-half league winner. And if you get into the playoffs with this kid, look, Arizona is not abandoning this kid.
58:26I know he made those comments. Longest season of his life.
58:29He's young. This guy's got a ton of talent.
58:32I agree with, like I said, this was a horrible rookie class.
58:36But Love was one of the gems out of it.
58:40And like I said, they drafted him third overall.
58:43He's going to play. Is he a gem, Joe?
58:46I don't know if he's a gem after this week.
58:49He had a bad week. I love how everything changes.
58:53This is a week-to-week game. Two weeks ago, it looked like he was going to lose.
58:58That's what I'm saying. I don't give up my priors easily.
59:02And I think the kid's got the talent. He's flashed here and there.
59:06We've seen it. I've seen him in college. I thought he was actually a really – he was one of the guys that should have went top ten.
59:16Maybe he should have went third because Arizona needed so much else.
59:20And Reese was probably a great pick for them.
59:23But they made the commitment. The guy's guaranteed $50 million.
59:26He's going to get plenty of playing time. It's still the first month.
59:31Again, like after five weeks, whether you're – you know, you could be doing great.
59:36Talk to me after week 10. Like I said, things change in a hurry.
59:41There were teams last week. I was like, oh, I was feeling down and depressed.
59:46Now I'm feeling great. Let's see what week six.
59:49That's been the problem is getting the back-to-back weeks going.
59:52So hopefully this even week is a good one.
59:55Talk about uneven offenses that make a difference in fantasy, guys.
59:59New Orleans Saints have been a, you know, a King Dakar rollercoaster ride this year, right?
60:05You're watching them one week. You think you're sitting on gold.
60:08And then, I mean, Minnesota absolutely beat the doors off them defensively this week.
60:13They struggled against Atlanta. Remember, that was another surprise.
60:16You guys, what are you kind of thinking about?
60:19I know ETN is out for a bit. He should be back.
60:23And by the way, they need him. Calvin Kamara is not an every down back.
60:28Certainly Kendra Miller is no every down back. What are you guys thinking about the Saints right now?
60:34Because there's a lot of talent to help your fantasy teams in New Orleans.
60:39I don't know. Tyler Shutt didn't look all that great.
60:43His zero points didn't help. Oh, he didn't point, Nelson.
60:46Does it do it for you on a week?
60:49Wait. Wait, you guys want to laugh. Tyler Shutt.
60:52You're saying this. Like, we were talking about the Saints just a week ago.
60:57Like, you know, look at this. Like a fantasy bonanza with all these guys.
61:02And then he didn't look so hot. I mean, it's never good seeing your quarterback have two fingers taped up.
61:08And look, I know the Vikings defense is very good.
61:12I still think they're like a fraud 5-0 team.
61:15They really haven't played anybody. So, you know, but it's concerning because it's happened multiple weeks.
61:20He did get the garbage time late on Monday night, but they were dominated on Monday night.
61:26I mean, they have fantasy playoffs. They got Arizona and Atlanta, two of the three games.
61:32I mean, you want – this is, again, this is a team you want thriving if you have shares of Saint players
61:39because they're sitting on, you know, indoor games against awful defenses.
61:43Well, Paul, believe that you mentioned that, the three teams that you want, Arizona, Atlanta, and the Saints, they, like, play each other those last three weeks.
61:52You know, those three teams have awesome playoff schedules.
61:55It's clear that his left hand, his non-throwing hand, is pretty broke.
61:59He's come back down to earth. We were all excited about the Saints offense through the first couple weeks, but obviously the hand is affecting him.
62:08The offensive line's falling apart and had some injuries on it.
62:12Their run game is nonexistent, and it doesn't look like they're getting any help anytime soon because the kid Tyson looks like he's weeks and weeks away.
62:21Teams are going to just start focusing in on Alave and taking him away.
62:26He had his first off game this past week.
62:29The Saints are in trouble, and, you know, to make you guys laugh, I have a Lamar-Tyler Shuck team that I thought
62:36was set up pretty well at the quarterback position, and I wanted to get out of the Tyler Shuck start so badly
62:44that once Lamar was ruled off that I went to the wire, and I picked up my guy Tyson Badgent to play
62:51versus the Packers offense thinking I was a genius, and I traded the Tyler Shuck zero that I nailed for the Tyson Badgent one.
62:59So shout out to me. That's how you play the game.
63:03That's how you play the game. What is the status on ETN?
63:07Is he going back after the short-term IR? Nothing.
63:10I haven't heard anything yet, Matt, on him. You know, a hamstring injury, obviously very worrisome, right?
63:16But he was dinged up going into the season, and then obviously had that bad injury, and then they haven't said it.
63:24Guys, we talked about this guy before. It's worth mentioning.
63:27What is the outcome for this fine NFC superstar?
63:30Do you think there's any life in Mr. Harrison Jr.
63:33now that he's on the vaunted Texans offense? Chris, yay or nay?
63:37Oh, absolutely not. I don't care. I don't want to hear, oh, he played with C.J.
63:43Stroud back in college, and change of scenery is going to do him good.
63:48Hand up. I'm wrong on Harrison as a player.
63:51Jared, he's done. He's toast. Good night. Matt? The first Noel is what I'll say.
63:56Jalen Noel season, baby. Make him second in targets.
63:59Hopefully Marv is running, you know, the sacrificial X.
64:02They get to play Nico full-time Z. That's the way it helps the offense, but how is this team trading second-round picks
64:09when they need an offensive lineman desperately? I think anybody.
64:13And, you know, I don't get it. Nelson, I recall from all of our drafting this summer, I don't recall this guy on your team often.
64:22What's your take on Harrison? I ended up, he suckered me in.
64:26He trapped me up on a couple of teams where he went late, and I was like, oh, okay, I'll take a little Marvin Harrison or whatever.
64:35But for the most part, I was drafting, I was actually drafting Michael Wilson over Harrison.
64:40But my thought is that I don't understand what the Texans are doing because this is like a head scratcher.
64:47How do you give up a second-round pick for a receiver where you have Nico, you've got – you traded for booty already.
64:55You have Hutchinson, who they love. They love playing this kid.
64:59Noel or Noel. How do you pronounce it? Is it Noel?
65:03It's Noel, right, I think? It probably is. I just love saying Noel.
65:07I'm a big kid. I'm a big kid. Modique is a Christmas guy.
65:11Yeah, yeah, I'm a Christmas guy too. We're saying Noel.
65:15So they got this kid coming on who I think is talented.
65:19And it's like, okay, I didn't think that was like really like a huge need on the team.
65:25So why this trade? Why give up the second-round pick?
65:28So I just think that you have a few knuckleheads over there in Houston, and they might muck this up.
65:35I don't know what they're going to do. But in terms of fantasy value for Harrison, I don't see – it can't get worse.
65:43The dude was seeing like two targets a game in Arizona.
65:47It can't get worse, okay? But I don't know how much better it can be in Houston.
65:53I mean, it's true what you're saying, Nelson. Like they just did this for Keyshawn Butte.
65:58And then you go back to the well and bring in Harrison.
66:02I don't understand what they're doing. I honestly don't.
66:05But fantasy-wise, I don't see how he makes starting lineups.
66:09Matter of fact – Thank you. I think he's droppable.
66:12I honestly think you'll see some people drop him this week.
66:16Mm-hmm. Well, one thing I will say, since we mentioned the Texans, I have my confession.
66:21I thought Montgomery was going to be the man.
66:25They're one of the worst picks in fantasy. I'm actually happy because one of my primes that I have him on, I
66:32have Woody Marks, and I can just play Woody Marks.
66:35I was like, Cowboys, I've got to give Monty one more chance.
66:39Tennessee Titans, I'm going to do it. Done. He's hurt anyway, but good riddance.
66:44Another absolute landmine in that fourth, fifth round range this year.
66:48Montgomery's total bust pick. I was wrong on him.
66:51I actually thought that he was going to do well, and I thought it was just going to be in terms of
66:59volume, and he was going to be the goal linebacker.
67:02So I was like, you know what? I've never been a huge fan of Montgomery anyways, right?
67:08But I was like, all right, I can see it.
67:11I can see where it's not pretty, but he finds a way to get in the end zone, picks up some yards or whatever.
67:19Just dead wrong on it. Yeah, I never drafted the guy.
67:23I was never a Monty guy. A lot of people in this industry were high on Montgomery.
67:29Like Nelson said, though, they went out, traded a fourth-round pick, targeted this guy.
67:34I figured just on the volume, the goal line touches especially.
67:37And Woody Marks, I don't think Woody Marks is a good runner.
67:41He's looked like he's improved a bit. But I don't understand.
67:45They still don't throw Woody Marks the ball. Like throw the – that's where I think Woody Marks is good.
67:52But they like refuse to throw the ball to the running back.
67:56Well, the arrow's pointing up on Woody Marks. That's another running back as you enter week six here that you could put into your starting lineup.
68:05That's going to be in a good spot right there.
68:08But I think we're remorse to say if you go – if we go this show without mentioning and talking about Jalen
68:16Warren and what he's doing, we're doing everyone a disservice right now.
68:20I don't know where Jalen Warren is ranked at running back right now for the season.
68:25But we need Rico Dowdle's toe to, you know, stay hurt here.
68:29You know, Jalen Warren's having a hell of a run right here.
68:33He's in a great spot. I think – what's his name?
68:37Why am I forgetting Pittsburgh's coach there? McCarthy. McCarthy came out yesterday and said that basically, you know, it's Jalen Warren's, you know, show.
68:45And he'll be the lead back still even when Rico comes back.
68:49But we don't want anything as Jalen Warren owners affecting what is happening right now.
68:55Jalen Warren is saving a lot of fantasy teams, especially where he was on the board.
69:00He's probably the best pick in the top 100 right now, you know, for his – where he was going on the board for value-wise, I'm saying.
69:09I mean, no argument there. But what's kind of crazy is last year Warren got usurped by like Kenneth Gainwell, kind of took his job.
69:18We all – I mean, I've been drafting Warren a lot every year.
69:22This year I kind of cooled off because they brought in Rico and I figured McCarthy loved him and all the beats at the end were saying.
69:31But this year he's basically doing what Kenneth, you know, Gainwell did to Rico because I thought Rico was going to be.
69:39And, you know, for the shares that I have going on, I'm grateful.
69:43I just wish I had more. Yeah, and the other guy above him, Chris, in the rankings who's not as – a
69:51lot of people didn't like, who's having a great year, is Javante Williams.
69:55Yet again, he's delivering – he wasn't picked in the 100th, but people didn't like him, ignored him.
70:01And, man, that guy just produces every year on that offense.
70:05I still don't like him, but he gets the volume and he gets the touchdowns.
70:10He gets the touchdowns. I'm kidding. It's so frustrating watching Alex.
70:14Yeah, every week he falls into the end zone.
70:17It's so frustrating not having any shares of Javante, but every week he's putting up points.
70:22And it's just a good pick for the people that have him.
70:26I've got an observation. Just curious, not trying to put you on the spot, but an honest question.
70:33Yeah. I know part of your plan was if you had started three wide receivers in the fourth round, you were targeting running back.
70:41Yeah. Javante wasn't part of that plan? Not at all, Nelson.
70:44It was Brees all one. It was Swift two.
70:48ETN three. I wanted my running back rooms when I was wide receiver heavy to start off with those three guys.
70:55And they all came off the board after Javante.
70:58So, you know, I don't think I took any of them over Javante like in a particular draft because I didn't need to.
71:06But Javante was a complete fade for me. So, hand up on that one.
71:10And then the final one. Who's jumped up to like third round?
71:14Yeah. Yeah. I mean, he was really out of the picture for me.
71:19Not even. Yep. One guy who's becoming like the Ferrari version, I guess, the high-priced version of Javante is Christian McCaffrey.
71:26Like, the touchdowns have been saving him. And that's been like Javante does.
71:30But the stat lines haven't been really, especially the last two weeks in the passing game, that seems to be going away.
71:38I guess now at all, you know, with Debo Dunn, that gives him a big boost.
71:43But from what I've noticed, he's been really touchdown dependent.
71:47And that's what's been saving him. Yeah. I think it made sense this year to fade him a little bit because I
71:54saw it last year that he just wasn't as efficient as he used to be.
71:59So, I felt like he was running out of gas.
72:03But, again, like he's a focal point of the offense.
72:06And if he's going to, you know, sneak in in the end zone and now, you know, you got pass catch, they're all banged up and stuff.
72:15So, he's going to start catching a few passes.
72:18That's, you know, he gets it done. Think about this, guys.
72:22Going back to the point of how the Gibbs and Bijon owners are just lapping the field and the major advantage at running back that these teams have.
72:32If you go to the other side of the board, you know, CMC doesn't look great.
72:37He's getting the touchdowns, like Matty said. So, saving each week.
72:41Gente's getting you by. Hampton's a complete bust. We haven't talked about Chase Brown and his – I don't know if you're happy.
72:49You're not happy with his season so far. Don't look in your rearview mirror.
72:53That's a major PR. Exactly. They were like 50-50 split this past week out of nowhere.
72:59I apologize for interrupting, but real quick. Can we go back to – this is how the NFL is and how fantasy
73:06is with week-to-week things change and we change our opinions.
73:10Do you remember on this show how we were having the debate that running back, running back was like the way to go this year?
73:18And I'm telling you right now, like if you look at it, imagine drafting like Chase Brown, Hampton, Saquon Barkley, like – A-chan.
73:26A-chan. Like you're crying right now if you have those two guys and you passed up, you know, receivers or whatever.
73:33Or you didn't hit on Walker. Like Walker was the key guy.
73:37He was the gem of the class, right? You know, once you got past James Cook and Jonathan Taylor and like McCaffrey, like he was the gem.
73:46And like everybody else is just whatever. Nelson, thank you for bringing that point up.
73:52It's an excellent point. I've tried debunking that myth because all I kept hearing about after week one is if you didn't
73:59go running back, running back, you're done. You don't have a chance.
74:03And outside of week one where the top ten, seven were running backs, it's been wide receivers that have dominated the top ten.
74:11Week four or five might have been five-five. It might have been even.
74:15But that's the one week. So that's something that everybody jumps on and it's a narrative-driven groupthink kind of thing.
74:22And it was proven false pretty quickly. If you went Jefferson, CD, Olave, even like, listen, Pickens showed life.
74:29But Pickens has been bad, you know, to start the year.
74:32But like Drake London, you know, London fell in drafts.
74:36But like if you like London, you know, with Pennix, like Pennix unlocked London.
74:41That was the key to that. And then like Malik Neighbors, you know, is the other guy that like I was saying
74:48that like I think he's going to get off to a slow start.
74:52You know, we kind of have to be patient.
74:56And now the dude looks like a monster. So if you went and you like if you figured out one running back
75:03to take and then took a receiver or you took Walker in the second round and like CD or Jefferson in the
75:10first round, you're much better off than without avoiding those landmines of like Hampton and Saquon Barkley.
75:16All of them. Like Chase Brown now. Like, yeah, all those.
75:20But Nelson, look at it. I mean, look, you know, besides Bijan and Gibbs.
75:25OK, Chase is having a really good season. Three out of five really good weeks.
75:30Now you add in Puka is is a monster, which I want to get back to him.
75:36JSN is, you know, a monster. Aman Ra's having a good year.
75:40That's the top six. All hits pretty much. Then you get past that.
75:44And it was James Cook and Jonathan Taylor who started coming off the board for the most part the last couple of
75:52weeks of the draft season in that seven, eight, nine range.
75:55Right. And then it would be like Lamb and Justin Jefferson.
75:59So, like, you know, you get to, like, pick eight or nine and you were OK.
76:05Sure. You know, Lamb's been great other than this past week.
76:08Jefferson's been banged up but gave you good numbers.
76:11That nine through 12 spot was all running backs.
76:14OK, and every one of them, unless you were the Ken Walker team, is bombing right now.
76:20That was like you are totally screwed because then not only did you land on all these landmines, the only wide receiver
76:28that was going in that nine through 17 range pretty much was A.J.
76:32Brown. And he's been a bomb because of injury.
76:35Right. You know, Alave would sneak in there sometimes, neighbors sometimes.
76:39And then in the third round, it was Waddle and Devonta Smith that were usually the top two receivers leading off the third round turn.
76:47And that's been a disaster. So my point is this, you know, and Matt's point, you know, all these running backs were bad picks right now.
76:56It's looking like the front of the board is going to dominate.
77:00The top six is going to dominate the bottom six of drafts.
77:04We need to touch on round three, how I was a big proponent of it going all yellow and stuff.
77:11But you look at the last two weeks, it was Rashi Rice, Flowers, major hit.
77:16Waddle, Wilson, good, you know, very good pick. McConkie, then you got Abuka in there.
77:21You got Burden, Higgins. Those are, you know, that's at least half of that have really kind of hurt you.
77:28A lot of misses. That has been Xavier. Yeah, no, but I doubt.
77:33Here's the thing. So in that third round, the question then becomes, all right, so if you were taking running back, Derek
77:40Henry, if he fell into the third round, was a home run, right?
77:45But outside of that, and then like in the fourth round, you had Kyron and Swift have been solid and Javante Williams.
77:52Those are the guys. The, like, Brees Hall, Travis Etienne, Scadaboo.
77:56Love, like, I know, like, Love's been inconsistent. Like, Jenty's getting, he's getting the production, but like, you can tell, like, he's
78:03hurt, he's banged up and stuff like that. So it's like, I don't know.
78:08Like, all I'm saying is that, like, I didn't think after, like, week one or week two, when we were talking about,
78:16oh, running back, running back is the way to go.
78:19I didn't believe that that was the case at all.
78:22But at the same time, like, there's plenty of landmines at wide receiver that if you took those wide receivers in the
78:30first three rounds, you could be not sitting pretty right now.
78:34Yeah. So it's kind of like you had to, like, if you're, if you're having, like, a really good season right now, you threaded the needle.
78:42Yeah. In a sense, where you hit on the right guys, like, if, if you- And there's not many of them, Nelson.
78:50That's what I'm saying. That's why you threaded the needle, you know, to, to get that accomplished because- It's very condensed, you know?
78:58It is. It is. I told Paul yesterday, I was telling Paul, we would say, I said, there's like 12 really good fantasy players right now.
79:07You know, you know, you want to be the, the, the, the Gibbs, Bijon, Derrick Henry, Ken Walker owners, you know, receivers,
79:14the big guys with, you know, a mix of London and Alave and a Zay Flowers.
79:20Like, you know, the, the fifth through seventh rounds were a disaster.
79:24You didn't get much after that. Tight end is, is, you know, Bowers and McBride and, you know, Tyler Warren and Laporte.
79:31There's not that many guys. His quarterback is all over the map right now.
79:36There's just not that many. Jaden Daniels is actually probably per price.
79:40The Jaden Daniels, based on price, might be the best quarterback pick of the- But I think, guys, when you look at
79:47boards, when you look at the boards, Chris, a couple of things have proven true.
79:53Waiting for quarterback was the move because you could, you're sitting on Love and Purdy and rounds 12, 13.
79:59It depends though, Paul. I don't believe that. I was, I was believing that draft season.
80:04What are the stats? These guys are scoring a massive amount of points every week.
80:10Okay. They don't need to get a quarterback. If you waited on and, and, and, and you took, um, the guy on the chargers, he's, he's a bust.
80:19Let's go, let's go through the guys. I mean, the Broncos, horrible.
80:23Round 13. Horrible. Round 13 of the diamond that Chris and I did.
80:28Shuck, Stafford, Love. CJ Stroud has close to 120 fantasy points.
80:31My point is, you can wait on quarterback, double tap, and build the depth.
80:36I'll make another observation. After round 11, there's no smash wide receivers that have been selected.
80:42Unless you want to make the case that Devon Vele, who's been good and Denzel Boston.
80:47So, you know, you're waiting on a, to me is you got to balance running back and receiver in the first eight
80:54rounds because some are only going to miss. And you need to have both.
80:59If you go too heavy one way or the other, you're not going to make up for those two premium positions later in the draft.
81:08Sure. I mean, the golf pick is great. The Jaden Daniels one helped me, but there's a lot of these guys that missed the lead.
81:16If you wait in and you took Baker and you took, uh, Knicks, you're, you're in a world of hurt there.
81:23Uh, Jalen hurts. I kept hearing how he was 10th round.
81:27You know, how is this guy going in the 10th round?
81:31You know, Jalen hurts hasn't really been good. It depends on what you do.
81:36You know, Washington, Christian Watson owners. And there's other one other receiver that, uh, was in that range.
81:42I'm forgetting. That's been really, really good. You paired them up with, you know, the, the right combination in the first couple of runs.
81:50And then you hit on a golf purdy love as your quarterback.
81:54That's what I see the most successful teams as being, but doesn't mean that the Josh Allen owner isn't loving life right now.
82:02The Lamar Jackson, other than this past week when he had a sit is, is doing well.
82:08Trevor Lawrence. Uh, okay. You know, so it is, it's pick and choose.
82:12But you know, the, the, the most successful people's I think are the ones that hit on these receivers, the combination in the first three, four rounds.
82:21And then paired them with a Javante, Kyron, the running back, Derek Henry.
82:26The guys that were kind of cold running back names.
82:29Got Bucky or Jalen Warren. Warren. And then, and then yes, with Jalen Warren.
82:34Um, so you could pick and choose the, the, the right running back names.
82:39And, you know, God forbid you're the Gibbs or Bijan owner.
82:42And you landed any of these other running backs, Javante, Kyron, Jalen Warren, would it Derek?
82:48And some combination of that. You're killing everybody. I said, I had primetime leagues where the guy in first place is 180
82:55points ahead of me in first place. And then you look at their team and it's these names with a purdy golf love, you know?
83:04Yeah. The thing too, though, uh, I will say Matt is if, if you missed on Herbert and Bo Nix and guys
83:11like that, that like have not been good, you could have corrected it.
83:16Uh, up until this point, you could have picked up a Bryce young, uh, Kirk cousins.
83:21Uh, uh, a Brissette to street Rogers, even Nelson Aaron, Aaron Rogers streaming, uh, went Winston now's on look, you know, looks
83:29like he's, you know, he's got it going and stuff like that.
83:33So you could have corrected the quarterback, uh, this year.
83:36I agree. You could have corrected it, but probably in the last week or so, of course, I mean, I think at
83:44some point you got to think Bo Nix is going to be better than this.
83:49Baker, you know, had some great matchups and he just.
83:52Yeah. When did you jump ship? Matt's back. Basically what you said, when did you jump ship and decide, Hey, I'm going to Kirk cousins or James.
84:01Aaron Rogers. Who's got Rogers. Like you didn't have the balls to do that in week two or three.
84:08Like you might've did it and jump ship off of Nix and, and these other guys, uh, you know, after four weeks ago, two weeks ago.
84:17Cause I was getting nervous with Drake may. And I had seen enough of that.
84:22That really backfired. Right? No, no, no. But I'm saying backing them up, making sure I have insurance.
84:28But like, so like Drake may, I was at the point where I was like, all right, I'm, I'm going to pick
84:35up and stream a guy, um, rather than play them.
84:39But like Bo Nix and Herbert two weeks ago, I was already starting.
84:43I was getting worried about these guys. So you could have picked up any of those quarterbacks and, and had, so like,
84:51if I had a Herbert, like Bo Nix team, I have a third quarterback on there.
84:56I've been sorry today. I've been starting to build, you know, Chris, we talk about quarterback rooms and some of my better teams.
85:04I'm like, I'd rather have three quarterbacks than some, you know, shot in the dark running back.
85:10And, you know, listen, my best team in the prime has Josh Allen.
85:14But I think also guys, if we're, if you're a volume drafter like us, you're going to have a splattering across your portfolio.
85:22That's just smart drafting. But if you're looking at it from a pure purist perspective, waiting on quarterback, it's there.
85:29The numbers are there. You don't need to take one early.
85:32It's proven over and over again. Now, of course you're going to hit and miss guys.
85:38That's your hindsight's 2020, right? I love everybody goes on and says, I wish, I wish nobody, nobody has a crystal ball.
85:45Nelson, you said it a lot this summer. Oh, by the way, a lot of these guys are going to bust no shit, right?
85:53These guys bust all the time. But when you're looking at patterns, you're looking at probabilities and statistics, waiting on quarterback, waiting
86:01on tight end, as good as Bowers and McBride are, you got guys that are producing numbers if you waited on them, right?
86:09And that's not the first season it's happened. It's not the second season it's happened.
86:14It's the, you know, multiple times this has happened.
86:17Again, just observation I make when I look back and say, yeah, you know, crystal ball, notwithstanding, the value is there on
86:24these positions if you wait a little bit. Can we go back?
86:29Yeah, Matt. Can we go back to one of the observations I made earlier?
86:33Because we kind of brushed over it. And it was a problem for me on Sunday because I was pissed when I
86:41heard Gentry was active because I wanted him to get the rest.
86:45I have some, you know, I have Mike Washington.
86:48It seemed like this guy needed a break or like a little breather to get healthy.
86:53So, like, this weekend coming up, I'm really getting concerned about Gentry when I'm hearing plantar fasciitis and stuff combined with that ankle.
87:01And it's versus the Bills. Now, you know, you can be put in that situation again.
87:07And I just found that I obviously started Gentry.
87:10I'm like, you know, I'm going to stop my stud.
87:13But it's a position. How concerned are we? Well, in terms of what, Matt?
87:18In terms of whether you're going to play Gentry or not?
87:22If Gentry barely practices this week and then gets a Friday practice in, I'm going to start him.
87:28I just don't want him to. You got to play him.
87:31I just don't want him to. I don't want him to be active is what I'm trying to say.
87:38Yeah, but you know what? You know what's funny?
87:41You're probably the guy that's saying that because you have Mike Washington on the bench.
87:46And guess what? Washington barely played. It was Dylan Lobby.
87:49So that's an even bigger problem because you're probably saying, all right, let Gentry sit out a couple of weeks, get healthy,
87:57and I can get an actual RB2 in there in Washington.
88:01And that didn't happen. So that's the real problem for the people that have Washington sitting on their benches.
88:07It's not as easy as, okay, I'm going to just slip in Washington.
88:12Will Shipley vibes. Run him out there 10 times and he'll be out for the season.
88:17No, that's excellent because Lobby was in there. I'm seeing him get touchdowns.
88:21At least the coach said Mike Washington not being involved was my fault.
88:26I had to get him involved. Yeah, probably the same coaches like Dalton Kincaid.
88:31How dare us do that? And then comes right back and does the same thing.
88:36All right, boys. Any final shots as we wrap up this colonial version of the Empire?
88:41Chris? First really bad bye week right here. You know, our lineups are already hurting with injuries and ineffectiveness.
88:48Now it's going to be fun taking Joe Burrow and Jamar Chase and Jefferson and St.
88:53Brown and Goff and Gibbs out of all our lineups.
88:57Really brutal. Even all us Ollie Gordon owners that are relying on him.
89:01The Dolphins are out. And, you know, so a really bad bye week with some really good offenses and offensive pieces.
89:08And I know we're on the way out, but we didn't touch on Fab and the Will Shipley touchdown that cost all the money this past week.
89:17A real bad run out. But, you know, I still think that Ollie Gordon, when you have a running back that ascends
89:25to an RB1 spot and is going to get a lot of volume, you got to kind of go in on it and take the chance.
89:34Now, you know, I thought it was the same situation as the previous week in Fab.
89:39And I went after Shipley hard to try and, you know, for, yes, to get a running back that was going to
89:47get volume, could catch the ball out of the backfield.
89:50But to try and get through these couple weeks and get some guys like Mason and Hall and ETN back, sometimes you
89:57just got to survive a couple weeks and get a guy off the waivers and spend for it.
90:04It backfired for the Shipley owners that bought him, but it didn't for the Ollie Gordon owners.
90:09So, you know, same thing, different results. I agree 100%.
90:13Were any of us in on Ollie Gordon two weeks ago?
90:16I wasn't into the exact. I actually had him before just because I had, you know, Nelson, one of those, let me
90:24just get the backup for the, you know, for the running back.
90:28I picked them up a lot. Again, not, you know, to Chris's point, I said this on X, when you're taking on
90:36water, your teams are sucking, you got injuries, you got to go out and get guys that might produce.
90:42It's not brain surgery. No one here thinks Ollie Gordon or Will Shipley are superstars, but it is supply, demand, and on spot situations.
90:50You got to go out and spend the money to keep your teams from being out of the mix.
90:57It's that simple. Right, Chris? It's that simple. Because the alternative, Paul, Paul, because the alternative is dying and falling more behind.
91:04You got to get a Shipley or a Gordon.
91:07Put them in. Hope that you get the 15-point week.
91:11You get to the next week and figure it out then.
91:14If it backfires, sure. But what's your turn? Go put your RB7 on the bench.
91:19That gives you two points in your lineup. And you say, oh, I should have probably spent on Ollie Gordon or Will Shipley.
91:27You know? The Will Shipley thing was twofold. First off, I'm thinking I automatically thought Barkley was going to miss the next two or three weeks at minimum.
91:37At least Tank Bigsby was completely gone. If you looked at the Eagles' schedule the next three weeks, they have cupcake defenses, right?
91:45You get Carolina, Washington. You know, that's sometimes all you're trying to do is get two, three weeks of a running back
91:52that's going to give you 15 points. And then you start getting help back on the way.
91:58But if you don't go after these guys aggressively, the alternative is just dying and sitting there if you're in ninth, tenth place.
92:06What are you going to do? If I was in first or second place, then, yeah, maybe I'm not as aggressive on the wire.
92:14I can take on a couple hits over the weeks.
92:17But if you were already behind, these are the guys you had to go after.
92:22And, Nelson, to your point, yeah, I was high on Ollie Gordon in terms of going after him.
92:28I was bidding 300, 400 in every primetime league on him.
92:32It's just you guys were going 5, 600, 4, 5, 600.
92:36No, no, not me. I was – No, no.
92:39Well, I'm saying – You're saying guys in Germany.
92:42Yeah. Yes. Well, Chris, you mentioned Brees Hall, a guy that I'm in on.
92:47And I'm actually really worried because the Jets just give a Breland Allen every snap.
92:52Like, he can't catch these wide-open passes when you've got a guy like Isaiah Davis who would be really good at that role, as you've shown.
93:01I'm a little worried when Brees comes back. This is a different kind of a backfield.
93:06Fair point. Yeah, fair point. And Breland Allen's, you know, done enough these last couple weeks to not be sent to the
93:14bench or play 10% of the time. So, does Brees Hall walk back into a 80%, you know, share?
93:20Probably not. But how many other running backs are?
93:23That's the advantage right now of Kyron and Javante Williams and Derrick Henry.
93:28And, you know, right before them on the board is these guys are bell cows, you know?
93:33So, it's true. Before Brees got hurt, he wasn't seeing the lion's share of the snaps.
93:39Braylon Allen was – he was up there with splitting with him.
93:43So, that is a concern is that, you know, when Brees does come back that Braylon Allen's going to be, you know, very involved in that backfield.
93:52Yeah, and I'm sure he's going to be vulturing the touchdowns down low and everything like that.
93:58You're going to have to hope that Brees Hall plays a DeAndre Swift role, you know, catches, you know, four or five balls each week.
94:06You know, rushes for 50, 60 yards. Hopefully, he gets in the end zone, you know?
94:12He's probably going to be one of those 12 to 15 point a game running backs and not the dream scenario when
94:19you drafted him in the fourth round of hoping he's, you know, a 20 point a game running back.
94:26I will wrap up with this. King Henry, two touchdowns this week versus the Giants.
94:31That's my prediction. We saw some juice last week.
94:34He got nine or ten carries. Oh. I don't think the other guy, you know, he's still, you know, Kamaru was a great player.
94:42I love him. I'll never forget Christmas Day. I will love him until the end of time for that.
94:49From your lips to God's ears, Matt. Yeah. That's exactly where I need.
94:53We're going to see, hopefully, Kendry make us proud from a couple of weeks ago.
94:58Yeah. Nelson, any final thoughts or prayer? Matt summed it up pretty good.
95:03But, like, you know, with the bye weeks, this week it's going to be tricky.
95:08Got a lot of Jameson, Amonra, Chase Higgins. It's got some Jefferson.
95:12So, going through lineups, it's like, okay, you know, got to play like these wide receivers that you got on your bench and hope that they produce.
95:21Plus, I've got freaking teams that, you know, are a mess at running back.
95:26So, hopefully, you can keep the momentum going. Ugly lineups, I think, this week.
95:30I think, Matt, we just had a nice high-scoring week, it looked like.
95:35Probably the highest since week one. I think this will be a really low-scoring week when you take out the Bengals and Lions and Vikings offensive players.
95:44So, that. I'll leave on this. This is the last question I had on my list.
95:50You have one receiver to draft right now, rest of the season.
95:54Who do you want? Real quick, go around the horn, starting with Nelson.
95:58One wide receiver to draft. One wide receiver you would want on your team going forward.
96:03Who is it? So, outside. Anybody, any wide receiver, who do you want?
96:08You get the first pick. Oh, geez. Probably Jamar Chase or Puka.
96:12Yeah. That's just obvious, guys. But, like, if there's a guy that, like, sticks out to me that, like, I think was
96:19of value and is, like, exceeding expectations, it's Christian Watson.
96:23Okay. Matt? I mean, I want to say JSN, but I'm going to go Puka.
96:28I just think he's just a beast. Chase is awesome, too.
96:32But I don't care. Puka might get hurt. But.
96:35The dairy shake in his head. Who do you want?
96:38You guys still, with JSN, how do you not take this guy?
96:42How is the best receiver? What does Puka do when he's on the field, too?
96:47I said it. Between those two guys. I honestly am surprised.
96:51I asked the question because I'm a little surprised.
96:54I thought it would be an easy three-person sweep of Puka.
96:58After what you saw last night, I don't know how Puka is in the 1-1.
97:03Yes, he's, Chris, that guy takes on so much.
97:06I don't mean overall. I mean at wide receiver.
97:09JSN all the way. I don't care. It's a violent sport.
97:13He doesn't get hurt by anybody. This guy is a beast.
97:17He just is. It was nice of them to ignore Puka's concussion late in the game, by the way.
97:23Where was people falling down? Nobody says anything about that, though.
97:27The guy slams his head off the turf, holds his head on the ground like this, gets up in a coma.
97:34I know the guy's a moron to begin with.
97:37But he's like this. Nobody. They stopped the game because of a defensive injury.
97:42They came back from commercial. I thought they were like, okay, Puka's going to be out of the game now.
97:49Nobody called down and said, hey, let's go put Puka in the tent again.
97:53Because they go to the NFL. Even before that, how about the play where the Rams guy grabbed Dalton Kincaid 10 yards
98:01down the field as they're driving and the rest are just staring.
98:05Don't even call it penalty, but that's the NFL.

98:48Ooh. Ooh. Trade just came out on my phone.
98:51Let's see. Should I make it? I don't know.
98:54I want to make a move now, though. I don't want to wait to get back to my computer.
99:01What do I do? Oh, we have the Dynasty Dominator app that scores a trade based on our lifetime value rating at playerprofiler.com.
99:09We also give you just a price lookup tool with the ADP to say, what is this guy really worth?
99:15And the app has a player comparison tool to juxtapose the advanced metrics of two players.
99:21This is $5 in the app store. That's it.
99:24So we want you to do deep research on playerprofiler.com, but we also want you to be able to make moves in the moment.
99:32So go get that Dynasty Dominator now. It's in the app store.
99:36It's on Google Play. And you can thank me later.
