Aaron Jones

PositiveUsage0:22

Davis Mattek criticizes Aaron Jones as a chalky DFS play, noting that his 16-point performance was likely his ceiling because the Vikings lack red-zone rushing volume and target him sparingly in the passing game. Mattek explicitly states Jones was not close to being an optimal fantasy play.

Insight page

Chase Brown

NegativeBust0:16

Davis Mattek criticizes Chase Brown's talent, arguing his production was entirely dependent on Ja'Marr Chase leaving the game early rather than inherent skill. Despite recording a high volume of receptions, Mattek notes Brown was not an optimal fantasy play.

Insight page

D'Andre Swift

NegativeValue15:00

D'Andre Swift was considered as a potential running back option for DFS lineups by Davis Mattek.

Insight page

Dak Prescott

NegativeProjection48:26

Davis Mattek avoided Dak Prescott in tournament lineups because he was unable to get the quarterback to simulate well in his lineup models.

Insight page

Derrick Henry

NegativeBust14:57

Davis Mattek expresses frustration with Derrick Henry's performance, noting he only scored 15 points in a game where his team was never contested, despite a revenge game narrative; Mattek also noted surprise that Henry's ownership was only 14%.

Insight page

Garrett Wilson

NegativeValue12:17

Davis Mattek advises fading Garrett Wilson at his $6,800 DFS price point, labeling him 'massive insane chalk' and noting he spent the morning trying to avoid rostering him due to a negative gut feeling.

Insight page

George Kittle

NegativeProjection11:34

George Kittle was identified as a target for DFS lineups by Nate due to favorable salary cap conditions. Davis Mattek initially described Kittle as a 'bust' until his 60-yard touchdown reception, ultimately concluding his performance was fine.

Insight page

George Pickens

NegativeValue61:48

Sammy utilized George Pickens as a cheaper alternative to CeeDee Lamb in lineup builds, arguing that while Lamb is the superior player, the market gap between the two is wider than the actual performance difference.

Insight page

Ja'Marr Chase

NegativeInjury11:31

Davis Mattek views Ja'Marr Chase as a superior DFS option to Puka Nacua due to his 100% route participation, providing a reliable floor. However, Chase's fantasy performance was nullified in week four after he sustained an injury during the game.

Insight page

Javonte Williams

NegativeValue15:01

Javonte Williams was considered as a potential running back option for DFS lineups by Davis Mattek.

Insight page

Jeremiyah Love

NegativeInjury15:22

Jeremiah Love was a highly owned DFS play (39%) who disappointed due to a knee hyperextension in the second quarter; he recorded 43 yards before exiting, and Mattek ultimately described him as a 'dog [ __ ]' play.

Insight page

Kenneth Walker III

NegativeProjection0:00

Davis Mattek identifies Kenneth Walker as a 'goat' play, citing his 200 rushing yards and two touchdowns as a key DFS differentiator. Mattek admits he was wrong to fade Walker, noting he possesses the 'juice' and playmaking ability that Christian McCaffrey currently lacks. Walker is considered a 'nutted' must-have in best ball formats, with Mattek noting that computer projections are failing to capture his true value compared to McCaffrey.

Insight page

Kyren Williams

PositiveUsage33:33

Kyren Williams is a high-upside asset who was undervalued by the market despite his strong performance. Davis Mattek considers him an excellent red zone play, though he noted difficulty in building viable DFS lineups that successfully paired Williams with other Rams teammates like Puka Nacua and Tyler Higbee.

Insight page

Matthew Stafford

NegativeProjection20:58

Davis Mattek notes that Matthew Stafford is showing signs of age and back issues, making him less effective than in previous seasons, though he remains capable of 'kingmaking' specific pass-catchers.

Insight page

Nico Collins

PositiveValue60:51

Sammy targeted Nico Collins in DFS lineups, anticipating he would be severely under-owned in his first game back from injury.

Insight page

Parker Washington

NegativeBust12:15

Davis Mattek expresses significant frustration with Parker Washington's 31% ownership and poor production, noting he failed to deliver as a 'true alpha' receiver. Washington recorded only one reception for seven yards and three rushing yards, leading Mattek to label his inclusion in lineups as a major mistake.

Insight page

Puka Nacua

NegativeUsage12:12

Davis Mattek expresses concern over Puka Nacua's route participation, noting that even when healthy, he only runs 70-75% of routes. Mattek argues that if injury issues reduce this to 40-50%, Nacua would require an unsustainable 60% target-per-route-run rate to match elite receivers. Mattek also notes that his DFS projections for Nacua were degraded and failed to perform.

Insight page

T.J. Hockenson

PositiveValue0:51

Davis Mattek identifies T.J. Hockenson as a high-volume, value-adjusted smash play, noting that building with two tight ends was an optimal strategy. Despite Mattek's initial skepticism and preference for Tyler Higbee, Hockenson recorded his fifth career double-digit reception game. Mattek regrets excluding Hockenson from tournament lineups, noting that his production was consistent with computer projections, even if some receptions were the result of Kyler Murray bailing out of broken plays.

Insight page

Tyler Allgeier

NegativeRole15:55

Tyler Allgeier saw increased playing time in the second half of the game after Jeremiah Love suffered a knee injury.

Insight page

Tyler Higbee

PositiveBust18:42

Davis Mattek admits that his stubbornness in playing Tyler Higbee over T.J. Hockenson was the primary reason for his poor DFS performance, despite initially viewing Higbee as a high-value play due to his route participation and target share with teammates sidelined.

0:00Enough people are respecting my goat Kenneth Walker play of the day. Frankly, it was a chalk apocalypse today. A bunch of the high-priced guys got absolutely
0:09sunned. All of the good smash receivers were not owned in cash games or in GPPs.
0:16You might think, oh, Chase Brown had a billion receptions today. Surely he was optimal. Nope. No, he was not. Not even
0:22close to optimal. Aaron Jones, not close to optimal. Jordan Addison. Jordan Addison's got to be the definition of the worst chalk play of all time. I
0:30mean, that has got is is there a worse thing to ape into than Kyler Murray's top receiver as absolutely stone chalk in in fantasy football? I
0:42mean, that's got to be that's got to be as bad as it gets, dude. I I can't I can't really um imagine. I mean, and the
0:51thing I'm tilting about, I had a great day, so I'm not really that mad. But TJ Hawinson racking up like an NFL record
0:59of receptions, enough already. I send that [ __ ] back, dude. I'm sending that Nate, I know you're going to tell
1:05me like, "Oh, the Whopper, whatever."
1:07No, dude. Hawinson, I'm not having it.
1:10I'm sending that [ __ ] back.
1:13>> Yeah, it's it's it's really tough. I mean, football is so like high variance.
1:17You never know who these targets are going to go to. And when someone like Justin Jefferson's out, how could we possibly know that TJ Hawinson is going
1:26to get incredible volume at his price tag and going to be a smash play in cash games? Uh, if only 70% of the field
1:32would have known. Oh, wait. They did because it was obvious that this was going to happen and this was the most
1:37predictable outcome of all time.
1:39>> AND YOU GUYS, IT MOST certainly was not the most predictable outcome because TJ Hawinson absolutely blows, dude. He blows this.
1:47This will never happen again.
1:49>> This guy stinks, dude. No, >> he's dusty. He's so dusty. Like it it is unbelievable. We've seen it time time
1:56again where it's like, oh, the number one receivers's out. Obviously, this guy's going to get the vacated targets and it doesn't work out like that. And
2:04you sun ran. How many 13 receptions? Is that what he got?
2:09>> I did not sunun. Do you realize he was 43% owned in cash games? who's by far the most high owned tight end of all of
2:15like the slate.
2:17>> The optos spit it out. Yeah.
2:19>> Because the optos are aware of how to build projections and when you don't have >> just the optos made the optos had a huge
2:26huge huge huge huge huge mistake today which we are we are most certainly going to to get into >> this this chat of he's had four targets
2:36last week. Justin Jefferson was this IS THIS IS >> JUSTIN Jefferson played five snaps last week. No, Nate. No, >> HE HAD THE WHOLE WEEK OF GAME PLANNING.
2:44THEY KNEW JUSTIN Jefferson was going to be out. Anderson, Aaron Jones.
2:48>> Yes.
2:49>> TJ Hock, like this was predictable.
2:51That's why he was 50% owning cash games.
2:53This was not a 2% tile outcome. This was a predictable outcome.
2:57>> No. TJ Hawinson having doubledigit receptions. How many times do you think in his life TJ Hawinson has had double digit receptions a game? I I'm willing
3:06to bet it's it has to >> It was a career high for sure. It's got to be It's got to be less than It's got
3:11to be He's done it in his career. TJ Hawinson double digit receptions. This is only the four. This is only the fifth
3:19time he's ever done it.
3:21>> Yeah. If only How could we have known after Daltton Schultz week two or other, you know, all these all of a sudden when
3:27when the high volume wide receivers are out, these tight ends get these dumps.
3:30Anyway, I played I played tight end correctly because I'm smart and I know more about football than the TJ Hawinson mouth breathers, which we most certainly
3:39are going to to get to. Uh I here's actually where I want to start. I want to start with why did everyone decide
3:46that Trevor Lawrence just like had to be played? Like why did why I played Trevor Lawrence, but why like why did we why
3:53did we do this? What? Trevor Lawrence was a [clears throat] totally cromulent fantasy football option. But why was Trevor Lawrence 70% owned? I I think
4:01this was bad. I I think I think Trevor Cuz he was affordable. Cuz he was affordable. He was playing a really [ __ ]
4:08defense in a game that project and he's been playing out of his [ __ ] skull for like the last 10 weeks or so
4:17going back to last year. So I thought it made a lot of sense. I didn't play him.
4:20>> He's been playing He's been playing fine. He's been playing fine, but his fantasy numbers I mean his fantasy numbers have been average. Like it's not
4:28like it's not like he is is totally killing it. I tell you who I wanted to play Nate. I wanted to play Secret
4:34Beagent. I really really did. I couldn't I couldn't justify it in the end, but I really did want to play Beagent at the
4:42end of the day. I was like, he's 4,800.
4:44He's going to run a little bit. Now, in the end, he ended up not getting any touchdowns, so it it was no good. But if
4:50you tell me that the Bears, like if you would have told me before the slate, the Bears have more first downs than the
4:55Jets have plays, I'm I'm jamming Bean in cash. Absolutely jamming.
5:01>> Yeah. I mean, >> yeah, he averaged like eight yards in attempts, like it was it was a good play, I think.
5:07>> Yeah, the the Bean thing, I mean, after what he's done in preseason, after just watching what Ben Johnson did with
5:12Casey, and I'm like, >> yes, >> we should have we should have played because it's not a talent play. It's like a it's a Ben Johnson. It's an
5:18offense. It's a system play.
5:19>> It's a system play. And it's like >> I do feel dumb that I didn't consider him more. I I I don't think Lawrence was
5:27bad. I don't think Lawrence >> I don't think Lawrence was bad, but I just like, you know, that we This is
5:32always what happens. Whoever the quarterback is in the train team is like a billion% owned. But I did not play the
5:38train team. I should have been more of a freethinker. And I was not. I was not. I was just like, I got to just play
5:43Lawrence, dude. I got to just do Lawrence. And I feel like it it it ultimately is fine. But I I do
5:51I think Begent was honestly >> in fairness in fairness I was a freethinker. I played Tyson Beant like a true actor.
6:00>> We're gonna get We're going to get to what you did, buddy. We're gonna get We're gonna get the blade. So
6:06>> yeah. Um All right. So whatever. Uh, we we can get to we can get Well, Nate, you I I mean, I don't know what I I don't
6:15want to go through your whole lineup yet, but I will just I will just spoil the fact that you played Josh Allen in
6:21cash. I mean, this Nate just showing up with these the all the way spend up at quarterback or the all the way spend up
6:29at defense is it's my favorite thing.
6:31It's my my absolute favorite is when Nate just shows up and he's just like, "Yeah, dude. I spent $8,000 on Josh
6:39Allen. I frankly Nate, I'm surprised you didn't show up with the $4,000 Vikings defense in this spot.
6:45>> Honestly, all week I was like, did did DraftKings give me a bonus? Do I have more salary than everybody else? I was
6:51able to build lineups this week and I'm like, this is I'm getting Jamar Chase.
6:54I'm getting Christian McCaffrey. I'm getting George KD. I'm getting Josh Allen. I'm getting Chase Brown. I like I'm getting I was like building these
7:02teams and I'm like I I feel like I have more dollars available. This was the softest week four slate I can remember
7:08pricing wise. You could do anything. You could do anything this week.
7:12>> I mean, look, you you could you could do anything. I actually, frankly, and I think in my lineup, I ended up leaving
7:17$500 of salary in my lineup because it was just like I couldn't spend all of it with the guys I ended up wanting to
7:23play. I never considered playing Josh Allen. I did. Um, so the thing the thing that I considered trying to spend more
7:32money on was on uh wide receiver three. I was trying to get Puka Nakua, Parker Washington, and Garrett Wilson all at wide receiver,
7:43which just ended up um not working. So I I guess the other thing that we should talk about in terms of chalk that
7:50everyone knew was uh terrible uh as it was happening was Aaron Jones. I mean, Aaron Jones, what did what did he get in
7:58the end? Aaron Jones ends up with 16 DraftKings points, which is like so that that to me, Aaron Jones hitting 90 like
8:0616 points. Doesn't that feel about like his 92nd percentile outcome? Like he he projected so good. He projected for a million points. And I'm like, we all
8:15know Aaron Jones is not breaking this late. The Vikings don't throw to the running back. They don't run in the red
8:21zone. And guess what? Aaron Jones doesn't get any receiving work. He has four I guess he does have four receptions for 34 yards. Got no touches
8:29inside the 10. 16 points, no bonus, no touchdown is great because that's always what Aaron Jones is going to do. He's
8:36never going to get the bonus and he's never going to score. It's it it's like normally I would say like, oh, you just
8:43play the the 90% own running back or whatever. You just do it in cash. But there are there are so there were so
8:50many plays at running back. There were like just looking at the at the running back like I thought about playing McAffrey, I thought about playing
8:56Walker, I thought about playing Henry, I thought about playing Chase Brown, I thought about playing Love, I thought about playing Swift, I thought about
9:02playing Javvante. Like there were like so many passable plays at running back that I mean in the in the massive 25
9:10Actually, you know what? This is shocking. What do you think he was owned in the in the massive $25?
9:18>> I don't know. 30 40 >> dude 34%. I thought it would be way higher. You know who was the most owned
9:23running back? [ __ ] Jeremiah Love.
9:26Jeremiah Love. Yeah, >> there must have been one site that projected Jeremiah Love above Jones cuz Jeremiah Love was like he was jammed
9:36everywhere. He was jammed in tournaments. He was jammed everywhere.
9:39So, um >> he he was projected really good, but also all the co the content and the shows were on Jeremiah Love. I will say
9:47it's very tempting to to sneer and laugh at the Jeremiah Love players. He he basically got injured. He he got injured
9:54in the second quarter and that's why Al Jir uh played for for most of the game.
9:59He he I think there was a thread explaining that he like hyperextended his knee basically and that's why Al Gir played for most of the second half. Um,
10:08I played I played Jeremiah Love and frankly I played Jeremiah Love instead of Chase Brown. And after watching that game, I feel like I was right. I feel
10:17like I was I feel like I was right.
10:19Chase Brown sucks, dude. He he he he Chase Brown is the most um what is what is like he's the most Daria Ugal running
10:28back one of of all time. Like that is like the only way Chase Brown can get there. What What was his statline in the
10:35end? Um, Chase Brown, 71 receiving yards on 11 receptions is what is what Chase Brown did. No, no, Todd.
10:46You're on mute, Nate.
10:49>> He only got that because Chase was out.
10:51If Chase played the whole game, he wouldn't have had that at all.
10:54>> Yeah, he >> Well, it was totally unforeseeable, you know.
10:58>> Totally.
10:58>> It was JAMAR CHASE GOT OUT. I MEAN, it's totally different to have the top receiver go out mid game than it is to
11:05have game planning all week long and know that they're going to get dump offs free to TJ Hawin. Like, >> all right. Well, let's talk about let's
11:13talk about what uh what actually happened um in in these contests. So I played uh Trevor Lawrence, Aaron Jones,
11:22Jeremiah Love, Puka Nakua, Parker Washington, Dantavian Wix, Tyler Higgby instead of Hawinson, Ken Walker III,
11:32and the Los Angeles Rams defense. Um I mean, Higgby, frankly, is an all-time insane ballnower play. No Kobe
11:42Parkinson, um no Terrence Ferguson. He ran all the routes. He was second on the Los Angeles Rams and targets. In a just
11:51world, in a in a world where in a world where you are paid off based on how sharp you are, I'm getting paid a
12:01million dollars for playing Tyler Higgby. This was so clearly good to play Tyler Higgby, five for 67 instead of T.J. Hawinson. But you know what, Nate?
12:11We don't live in a just world. So instead of that, uh TJ Hawinson just absolutely gives me the blade with his fifth
12:21double-digit reception uh game of his career. I the Higgby thing, Higgby over Hawinson, I think is
12:30completely completely defendable. I really do.
12:34>> I don't I think you're not you're not taking into account >> you're not taking into account this is Puka's back. Uh, you also played Puka.
12:43So, you're assuming Puka is getting the volume that Puka gets.
12:46>> Yeah, I played Puka back because I'm sharp as a [ __ ] nail, dude. I'm sharp as a as as a goddamn samurai sword.
12:53>> Which which means they don't need to have the Higgby dump offs that they need to. So, like they're going to game plan
12:58for Puka. Uh, Stafford is not the Stafford of old. He is legitimately old now. His back is clearly bothering him.
13:06He's not as he's he's not the guy he was last year in the years past. And I think that like with Puka back, I don't think
13:12that the Higgby was like this the sup the super sharp play. He's fine. I don't think he was bad, but I don't think he
13:19was the sharpest play in the world.
13:21>> Yeah, I would like to I would cash in I would >> I would like to cash in my my Hig Beast
13:26Slansky box. Uh but the the thing that I did that was clearly that >> Yeah, go ahead, Sammy. Look, look, look.
13:33I I know my reception's bad. My audio is but look, Stafford is not playing nearly as well as he did last year, but
13:42he's still kingmaking. He king made Ferguson in week two. He king made Devonte Adams for two weeks. He king
13:50made Puka Nua again. Um, I I I agree with I think he was mega sharp. Um, the way to play it though, Davis, was
13:59obviously just to take all his overs on picks or underdogs. His receiving was 3.5 receptions and 30.5 receiving yards.
14:10Took a lot of it. Um, mega sharp play.
14:12Good for you.
14:13>> That that that is what I did. It was one of my it was one of my it was one of my
14:17only dubs today. Slid Higgby up to 44 and a half receiving yards. Uh, Burden, whatever. That was uh that was one of
14:24the uh that was one of the dubs today.
14:26However, I mean, Nate, I feel like allowing me to snatch your chain of taking Puka at 7500 and playing him and
14:35Cash, I feel like that's a Nate play. I feel like I I was surprised. I mean, we can talk about what you did. Um, which I
14:42actually I was ready to [ __ ] on your lineup. Uh, I mean, not having Parker Washington is completely insane, but I
14:49do think the doing Jamar Chase, doing Puka, doing JSN, like whatever it is, instead of doing Garrett Wilson, cuz I think we all have enough experience with
15:00Garrett Wilson to know $6,800 massive insane chalk Garrett Wilson. Like, didn't you just kind of have a pit in your stomach about that play? I know. I
15:10know. I did. I know. I had like I was spending all morning trying to find a way to not play Garrett Wilson. I was my
15:18whole deal this morning was man I just really don't want to because what everyone did the the chalk the chalk lineup or the the train lineup was
15:27Trevor Lawrence, Christian McAffrey, Aaron Jones, Jeremiah Love, Parker Washington, Garrett Wilson, Jordan Addison, TJ Hawinson, and the Rams defense. That was the So that's three
15:38Vikings players and $6,800 Garrett Wilson. And you know, look, Christian McCaffrey is trying to stave off the Bank Examiner, but I didn't really want
15:49to play Christian McCaffrey either. Um, like I think he's I think he's fine, but I'm not rushing to jam CMC in any of my
15:56lineups these days.
15:58>> Yeah. I mean, the the news about Evans and stuff that came out today made it look like it was he was even like worse
16:05than expected. I don't know. I felt good about CMC KD. I thought it was like that's a great way to get exposure to
16:11the San Francisco like just lock up the touchdown exposure. But, um, but yeah, here's the thing about Puka. So, Puka is
16:20is a unique alpha receiver in that his route participation is not actually very high. Uh, so >> 75%.
16:27>> And that's when he's fully healthy. So like fully healthy Puka only runs 70 to 75% of the routes and has an insane
16:34targets per out run on those high on those like low part low route participation already. And so the news of like, hey, we're going to let him
16:42play as much as his stamina allows. And it's like, okay, if you already are 75% when you're fully healthy, if you bring
16:48that route participation down to like 40 50%.
16:52It's really hard. you would have to have a target per route run rate of like 60% to get to like a Jamar Chase who's
16:58running a 100% of the routes. And so I was just like not knowing with Puka and knowing Jamar Chase was like fully it
17:06was just I I felt fine about the Jamar Chase thing. If Chase wasn't on the slate, I probably would have played
17:10Puka. But like I just I didn't play Puka. And I I don't know the chase thing. Obviously, it's like I'm really
17:19happy for you that like you at least came close to me this week and all it takes you [ __ ] sucking out. I'm
17:24actually I'm actually all it takes for you to get close to me is for me to pay up and get Jamar Chase three snaps.
17:31>> No, you [ __ ] 200 yards rushing, dude. No.
17:35>> And and you still can't beat me. You still can't beat me. Even when I run bad and you run hot, you still lose.
17:40>> You sucking out with TJ Hawinson career game is actually insane. It's actually crazy. I was beating you guys by a
17:49million. I was lapping the field with you guys. My lineup is the nuts. I'm winning every head-to-head. And then Nate gets like five receptions from T.J.
18:00Hawinson in the fifth quarter and then a 60ard George KD touchdown. KD KD is like a straight up bust until that play. And
18:07I'm not KD I actually think was fine. I was trying to get KD. What I was trying to do in my lineup, Nate, was I was
18:13trying to play Begent at quarterback and I was trying to find KD over Higgby/Hawinson with Walker in the flex and it just like
18:22there was no way to make it work. I would have had to Well, God forbid I would have had to have fade Parker
18:27Washington. God forbid you find a way to not get Parker Washington, one reception, seven yards, three rushing yards in your lineup. Oh, I mean the the
18:37suckout that Nate had to outscore me by what's that one point 1.37 points or whatever. I mean >> I gave you I gave you 27 points at
18:48receiver. It's not a suckup.
18:49>> No. No. You didn't give me 27 points. I played the right play and got paid for making the right play. When they said
18:56that Puka was facing no restrictions, like Sheper tweeted like he's just 100% playing. I don't know how you don't like Puka. We were playing Puka in cash last
19:06year at 9,000 DraftKings dollars.
19:08>> You realize that Hawk ran out at the one yard line. He took a knee. He could have scored.
19:11>> He did. He did. He legitimately could have scored.
19:13>> He kneled. Yeah.
19:14>> And then and then Jones didn't get the score. I mean, literally I there was points left on the field. I beat you
19:19with like room to >> I had I had Aaron Jones also >> with three snaps of Jamar Chase. Like it was like you like you ran hot. You ran
19:28hot VERSUS >> NO, I DID NOT. NO, I did not run hot. I AM THE GOAT. KENNETH WALKER AT 200 YARDS
19:33RUSHING AND TWO TOUCHDOWNS. DO YOU >> I'M THE GOAT. I played Kenneth Walker instead of Christian McAffrey. Look at all the Look at all these people in the
19:40in the $50 double up. I got to pull I got to pull the the double up ownerships up because it's absolutely hilarious.
19:47People 7% own Ken Walker in the This is the This is the massive 25. This is the This is the biggest one. 7%.
19:57You got to You got it, dude. 8% Puka, 7% Walker. You got to give it to me, dude.
20:02You absolutely have got to give it to me. That is putting it on the table and saying I know ball and being rewarded
20:09for knowing ball. You got You have to hand it to me.
20:13>> Yeah. But if Puka runs 15 routes this game, >> are you saying you ran bad? Yeah. So like but that's not running bad. That's
20:22like that's a legitimate like you don't know how many routes he's going to run.
20:26So, like you did take a getting injured midame is different than coming into a game questionable and not knowing how many routes they're going to
20:35run. Like >> I don't know. I just think like injuries.
20:39>> I would not have played Puka. I I would not have played Puka without the Sheper tweet saying no restrictions. I I would
20:47not have played him. I would have I would have played the same chalk donkey lineup that everyone played. I would have played the Garrett Wilson Jordan
20:54one. I would have with McCaffrey and I would I assume that lineup lost.
20:58>> It had to have. Yeah, >> it had to have.
21:00>> Yeah. So, I I would have played I would have played that lineup. I I was actually trying to get to um I think
21:05this is what Wiggins played, but I was trying to get to um what is it? Uh Lawrence McAffrey, Chase Brown, Puka,
21:14Pwash, Addison, Hawinson, KD Rams. Um would have been >> the two tight end the two tight end thing was the move. There's no doubt in
21:21my mind that two tight ends was the right way to play on this slate. I think that both Hawinson, both KD um and
21:27Higgby, uh those three at their price was like some of the best value adjusted like workload expectation on the slate.
21:34So I I think getting those two tight getting two tight ends I think however you built was going to get you more
21:39expected DraftKings points than any other build.
21:42>> Nate [ __ ] playing Josh Allen. Nate losing his mind and playing Josh Allen and just like easily getting there is
21:49crazy. [laughter] It's because he got he got 45 DraftKings points out of eight Brandon salary from
21:58two tight ends. Like, you know, I hate to say it, but Nate is just windmill dunking these tight ends on us day after
22:06day, week after week. It is max [ __ ] pain. I I >> Yeah, I should have I should have taken
22:12I should have taken every when I knew I wasn't playing Hawinson. I should have just taken every slider 10% like what
22:19would what would this have paid on underdog? This would have paid 100 to one. This would have been an insane payout on on DK or on underdog or
22:26whatever. You you could have you Nate, whatever you made today in DFS, you could have quintupled if you would have just done the TJ Hawinson mega all
22:35overs.
22:37>> Yeah. I mean, I just think you guys are like you're acting like I played like a 4% own tight end. He was the highest to
22:44own tight end of the slate.
22:46>> No, I know he was and I just >> This was not like a This was not a one-off play. This was like a the guy
22:52who projected going into the slate as the best value adjusted play of the slate. You guys faded and then are shocked that it dunked on you.
22:59>> I'm not I'm not I'm not >> I just thought Higgby was easily going to outscore him. And frankly, when he
23:06had what he had five for 67, I was like, "Okay, well, I'm gonna I'm gonna give the blade." I thought this was the most
23:12four for 44 game for Hawinson of all time.
23:16>> Yeah. Obviously, like >> same.
23:18>> Yeah. Yeah. But I just think Yeah, we got to move on. But I think Sam's lineup talk about what Sammy did. [laughter]
23:28>> I was hoping we'd skip this part.
23:30>> John Sammy.
23:31>> Dude, playing playing Beagent and not getting to an AK wide receiver. I Where did your money go? Where did the money
23:38go in this? I think I think draftings gave me 2,000 >> extra rece I got to an 8K receiver at 6,900.
23:46>> That's what I did.
23:48>> I played big [ __ ] Brock Bowers.
23:51>> No, that was a great play. I I'm I you know I just got mogged by TJ Hawinson.
23:57Like Hawinson goes four for 44 and B smashes and I just win and it didn't work out that way.
24:05>> I will say I will say this. I I actually I I truly think I think the Bowers play was dog [ __ ] I think if you played
24:13Begent, you should have done I I think Beent I actually think before the slate, during the slate, after the slate, I
24:21think the Beagent people played the best, but using Beant to get to Bowowers and and use like McCaffrey is the spend.
24:32I think we we're a month into the season. I think we can officially say the the the McAffrey is no longer the
24:41guy. Like the bank examiner is coming for McCaffrey, dude. He's he's fine.
24:45He's a play.
24:49>> I I will take the L here because Ken Walker is a ball- knowing play. Ken Walker has the juice and Christian
24:58McAffrey does not have the juice. And at some point, you want a running back that has the juice. And you know, McAffrey
25:05just doesn't have it. And >> you know, you know who McCaffrey is now?
25:09>> Touchdown, but >> McCaffrey is he is Javvante Williams.
25:14Like he's still going to have some really good games where he scores like three touchdowns or whatever. But the the team is not going into the game
25:21being like, "Yeah, dude. We really got to build the plane out of out of Christian McCaffrey, Javante Williams."
25:27Frankly, >> Brock Powers is the man now. I Well, I think >> I was gonna say they're building the plane out of Perie now. I think I think
25:36Shanahan goes into a game being like, I'm gonna let I'm gonna let Perie do his thing and it's I mean, it's clearly
25:41working, right? I mean, Pertie is playing awesome. I The 49ers are undefeated, right?
25:47>> Yes.
25:48>> Yeah. So, I I I think I'm shocked that legitimately adds up to 5 50,000 is so good. [laughter]
25:57>> God damn it.
26:01Yeah. I mean, I guess the other thing we should say, >> I think DraftKings stole money from Sammy and gave it to me. I think I was
26:07able to build How did I get Josh Allen and Jamar Chase and Christian Demi, what did you do? [laughter] >> It's that It's that the cheapest guy in
26:17his lineup is Wix, which by the way, last thing I said in our group chat before before lock, this is literally
26:24the last thing is I said, "I don't want to play Wix. The Eagles are going to score zero points, which I mean, they
26:32did somehow actually generate points.
26:34It's just that Darius Cooper had three for 20 and two touchdowns. But I think we all know Wix was dog [ __ ] I mean I
26:41Did you guys Did you guys play Wix in a single tournament lineup? Because I did not.
26:45>> I don't think I did.
26:46>> Yeah.
26:48I And we I mean, we all played him in cash, but I did you guys consider playing Khalif Raymond? Did you Did you
26:54consider playing Raymond in cash?
26:55>> For sure. for sure.
26:58>> Um, definitely.
26:59>> I did. I did not. I just I So I I also almost played Mai Lemon as well instead of instead of Wix.
27:08>> I just I We all knew Wix was a bad play.
27:10He He was like never going to be a good play.
27:13>> Yeah. I mean I don't know. I I I still don't know what to do with this Eagles offense.
27:20Like I don't know who Jaylen Herz is. I don't know.
27:22>> They're they're bad. I mean they're bad.
27:24Herz.
27:25>> Lemon is definitely more talented. Lemon is definitely more talented, but like Herz is Herz is brutal. And I just was
27:31hoping he was going to throw some >> like if Herz was decent, I do think Lemon would have been a better play. Wix
27:36is the better like bad ball. Just like throw it up there and exactly expect garbage and that's kind of what I was
27:41hoping for. But I would say like yeah, in a straight up like legitimately functioning offense, Lemon is the much better route runner overall player
27:50upside. But >> yeah, >> I don't know. 4,300. I 40 whatever he was 4,300 with no Devont. I felt like you had to play Wix.
27:58>> Yeah. Um All right. I will pull up Well, if I can I think uh Oh, the slate just transitioned to uh to complete it here.
28:07I'll pull up my uh I'll pull up my spy team. The run the Sims has a postcontest sim page up, but I don't know how to use
28:15it yet. So, I'll pull up my spy team. I I think this Did this men cache? No, it did not mache. Uh, I played Tyson Begent
28:244%. King Henry 14%. I I thought I thought he would actually be way more owned than that. Jeremiah Love, who clearly was a dog [ __ ] play at 39%. Puka
28:3512%. Pwash 31%.
28:39Uh, Luther Burden the third 6.7. Tyler Higgby 6.5. Emanuel Wilson 4800.
28:48freaking 7.5% on 27 points, Vikings defense, eight points. Uh, obviously the issue here is I didn't just play Ken Walker. Why did I not play Ken Walker?
28:57But I thought the Puka spot was so good.
28:59And I did, Nate, I really did think the Beijian spot was was good. And I couldn't get I don't know about I don't
29:06know what you guys were doing this morning. I couldn't get anything I liked to sim well. I couldn't get Dax Sidi to
29:12sim well. I couldn't get um Joe Burrow T. Higgins with pew to sim well. I couldn't I couldn't get anything that I
29:20thought was reasonable to to sim well at all. And I'm realizing now that part of it was one because I didn't put Hawinson
29:28in any of them. Right. So I I had zero Hawinson in any of my tournament lineups. And then also the Puka
29:34projection that I was using like I think Run the Sims had him for like 17 points meant like his P the Puka projection was
29:40degraded. It wasn't I I should have altered the puka projection and then started doing the uh the Sims freaking Parker Washington, dude. Get to I'm so
29:50tilted about this.
29:52>> Yeah, the Parker Washington thing was tough. I mean, because I do think the Jaguars were in a great spot. Like, I do
29:58think Lawrence was a good play.
29:59Washington obviously gets the volume. Um I think this just happens. I don't think there's much to read into the Washington thing. I think Washington was fine.
30:07>> No, it just it it is it's just one of those things that happened. How about How about I play in the red?
30:12>> He's just not a true alpha like we thought he was, >> you know? How do you how do you show up
30:17in this spot in this game and not and not get anything like maybe not a true alpha?
30:23>> Because because this was just honestly the the Bengals Jags game, it really was one of those games. Belle Tutin had um
30:31about a billion fantasy points called back by penalty. He had a 45 yard touchdown run called back by penalty and then like uh and then like a five yard
30:39touchdown run like the most like ridiculous holding call of all time. It was so it was so stupid. Um this is fair
30:48though. Uh I think we we probably should have a convo of whether $6,500 Parker Washington should be the highest owned wide receiver of slate. I mean I think
30:55that >> I think that's probably a fair conversation uh to have. I don't know. I thought I thought Higgby at 6.5% was
31:02good. But I mean, Nate, I I I this lineup I think that I got this lineup to like 3% sim ROI on Run the Sims. That
31:10that was like that was like as good as like Oh, and I also played the Vikings defense at 15%, which is crazy. I guess
31:16everyone did have insane salary if the $4,000 defense was 15% owned.
31:23>> Yeah. Um Yeah, I I I don't mind this. I think um I'm trying to think through the Beijian thing a little bit more of like would
31:33should you have gone through Lovelin instead of Higgby? Um but cuz what was what was Lovelin's price?
31:42>> Lovelin was so expensive. He was he was 4700.
31:46I I just thought there was no way he was 4700.
31:50>> Like I I mean I I play >> The Wilson play is sharp. The Wilson play is definitely sharp.
31:54>> Yeah. I I honestly like sometimes like if you're not gonna get if you're not gonna get first place sometimes it's
32:01really nice to have a fancy play like that that just absolutely smashes like man I'm so good. Can you imagine if uh
32:08you know Burden I mean Burden Burton keeps having these games like four receptions for 63 yards is like a totally fine game but he just like he's
32:16not found a mega smash yet. And then Washington sucking is How about Henry in a 24point win where the team was never
32:24contested. How does Henry only get 15 points? How did How did Derrick Henry not have 40 points in this game? That's
32:31absurd.
32:32>> Touchdown on the first drive >> and and Lamar went out. It's like, dude, just feed the big dog against your
32:38revenge game. I mean, I don't know how he didn't get there.
32:42>> No, it it it was it was completely it was completely insane. And I I actually was tilting that um pretty hard. I mean,
32:49and then Jeremiah Love had 43 yards in the first quarter and then and then got hurt. I don't know. You know what? I'
32:54I'd actually play this team again. It didn't It didn't get there, but like I would I would play this team again, I
32:59think. I mean, it doesn't have it doesn't have Ken Walker on it, so it couldn't have been that good. What team
33:04What team won this by? Let's see. I mean, obviously, it's going to have CD Lamb on it. Straoud, Macaffrey, Swift, Lamb, Neighbors was a totally unexpected
33:13smash. I I Hand up on that one. I was like I I was ready to like write the obituary for the New York Giants. Um Dubs, Romeo
33:24Dubs had a huge Smash game. TJ Hawinson only at 16%. Okay. All right. You know what, Nate? Duncap. Duncap for me. TJ
33:33Hawinson at 16% with his projection is actually a huge smash. And then Kirn actually nobody actually believed in him. Nobody was actually like, "Oh, Hawkins has the
33:44upside." He He got spit out naptos and people were like, "Oh, he'll get his like five for 48 and it'll be enough
33:51because I can do the rest of my lineup."
33:52But nobody actually believed that Hawinson would do well. That's the proof in the goddamn pudding.
33:57>> Yeah. I mean, we should talk about Kairen. So, I played Kirn in the red zone. I I thought he was I thought he
34:04was an awesome play, but I I couldn't get I couldn't get Puka, Higgby, Kairen, and the Rams defense all together to sim
34:15that well. I couldn't I couldn't get the four of them together to sim that well.
34:19Um so I just I just like and and because I guess it was because the thing that cost me today was being stubborn about
34:24Higgby. I mean, ultim or ultimately at the end of the day, the the the reason why I played bad today was because I was
34:30stubborn about playing Higgby instead of Hawinson. That that is that is the moral of the story is that I could have had a
34:36good day, but I was too I was too stubborn about Hawinson. No, the problem was that I didn't The problem was that I did IKB. If I would have just
34:45listened to the computer about Ainson, I would have had a bunch of good teams, but I I was too I was too [ __ ]
34:50stubborn.
34:53You're on mute, Nate. That's the whole thing with tournaments is people continue to IKB these projections because they look at them and they're
34:59like, "Hawinson isn't good. This isn't right." But it's like targets are still targets. Volume is still volume. Teams are going to throw pass plays. These
35:06guys are going to run routes. Like I don't care how bad you are. Like there's upside there. So sometimes you should just listen to the
35:13computer.
35:15>> Uh I mean I think probably a lot of the time you should you should just listen to the computer and Hawinson is is a
35:20pretty good example. So, this is Sammy's team. Straoud, Dererick Henry, Emanuel Wilson, Nico Pickkins, Addison, KD, Wix, and the Bears. What uh what tournament
35:30was this in, Sammy?
35:33>> It was in the spy.
35:36>> There you go. Also, also in the spy.
35:38Good for good for uh for a min cash. YOU KNOW WHAT? I SHOULD BE windmilling the Isaiah Williams touchdown this week.
35:45These [ __ ] non ballnowers telling me I'm so >> Oh, WE HAD TWO CATCHES THIS WEEK. OH, WOW. YEAH. They're great.
35:52>> No, dude. I was Dude, >> two cactus.
35:55>> You know what? This is all This is all coalescing. This is all coalesing for me just to continue. I mean, the Walker the
36:02Walker stuff is so good for me. Like, I'm I'm advancing so many teams in baseball right now because Walker is like the absolute nutted you had to have
36:10him guy. And And you know what? The the Sims, the computers are not catching up to the Kenneth Walker stuff. every every
36:18uh outlet had McAffrey for more points than Walker today. It's not going to be it's not going to be that way next week,
36:23I don't think. I I think with another week of of poor CMC efficiency, I think we are going to get there. Uh Sammy, I
36:31hate Dantavian Wix and the flex on this team. Absolutely hate it.
36:37>> It's not It's not great. I I don't know how to defend myself. I thought Wix would like legitimately have a good
36:42game. Um, yeah. I just I I just I just duffed it, man. You know, but the way the way I wanted to build this lineup is I wanted
36:51to get, you know, the the Dallas and Texans game. And so getting Nico Collins, I thought he'd be like severely underowned because, you know, it's his
37:01first game back. And so I wanted to get that going on. Uh, but I didn't run it back with Cidi. I ran it back with
37:08Pickkins because it was like, "Oh, you know, CD's been mogging Pickkins all year. I think they're probably closer than that, even though I think CD is
37:15better, but he was obviously like, you know, way way more expensive as well."
37:19So, you know, went went with Pickkins in this spot and it just, you know, just didn't quite get there. Proud of the
37:25Emanuel Wilson. Proud of myself. Uh, we got some money in this lineup, but god damn it. Yeah, I the Wix was bad and I
37:33knew it was bad and I was just like, well, I really like the rest, you know, and when Wix goes six for 58, it'll be
37:39fine. And it wasn't fine.
37:40>> Could have just could have just could have just could have just easily played TJ Hawinson. Could have easily played the Rams defense and then got from
37:48picking Shalam and Ben and Ben Rich.
37:52>> Yep. Yep. I don't I don't like I don't like money. It's all good.
37:57>> Yeah. Uh, all right, Nate. What team do you want me to run?
38:01Uh, let's see. Let's do my uh I had a small field touchdown team that I liked.
38:06Um, so this field >> size like 500.
38:09>> No, it's 111. It's the >> $2 $200. All right.
38:14>> $200 touchdown.
38:16>> Okay. What?
38:16>> Uh, Joe Burrow, uh, Christian McAffrey, Chase Brown, Jamar Chase, Parker Washington, T. Higgins, Brenton Strange,
38:28TJ Hawinson, Dolphins, >> Burl, Washington.
38:35>> You know, the the sharpest thing about this lineup, Nate, is playing a defense against Kyler Murray.
38:42>> Kyler Murray, >> you know, I'm proud of you.
38:44>> Yeah. When it when it came to cash, dude, I did not want to play I did not want to play three Vikings. I was just
38:49like, look, bro, like Kyler sucks.
38:52That's been my take all year. He continues to suck. I know I know these guys got there. Um, but God, I don't
38:59want I don't want any part of the Vikings offense.
39:04>> Uh, I mean, I think we all knew that. I I think we like we can all like we we can all be done with the Kyler Murray uh
39:12derangement syndrome of which I was a part, you know, I I was I drafted Kyler in baseball. like I but all I needed was
39:19I needed the scales uh taken from my eyes last week, right? And uh that was it. That was all I needed to see. I got
39:28I got four quarters of Kyler Murray last week. He was awful. He couldn't do anything. I it it felt like the exact
39:34same as the Kyler Murray Arizona experience. The Vikings had two really easy games against the Buccaneers and the Dolphins. Now they play at the
39:44Saints. Uh they play home to the Colts.
39:46They play at the Lions and they play home to the Bills. We are We are a lot of people who were very comfortable
39:52playing T.J. Hawinson this week are going to have to look themselves in the mirror and say, "All right, I got away
39:57with one. I got away with one that time because the Kyler Murray experience of which look, dude, I I got the Oklahoma
40:05helmet behind me. Like, I love Kyler, but it's it's over. Here you go."
40:09>> You know, the the real the real good take for Hawinson would have been that Kyler is too small to see anything. So,
40:16he's just gonna like dump it to Hawinson a bunch because Hawinson's tall and can sit right in the flat. And uh you know
40:23that's that that's the ball no take that got you to Hawinson should have been.
40:27>> I mean that was that that that is exactly what did happen was like every Hawinson reception was just a to like it
40:34was all Kyler bailing out of whatever else was was designed. Uh eight% >> this is what Yeah. This is what I wanted
40:41to see because all of these players project for really high ownership. Yeah, >> all of them. There is really not anybody
40:47here that's not Chalk. Um, the Dolphins D was the only one that's not Chalk, but all of them came in at relatively high
40:53ownership, >> but the combination was very unique.
40:58Nobody actually stacked Burrow, Brown, Chase, and Higgins and then and then T and brought it back with Strange. Uh, because if they had Strange, they had uh
41:09Lawrence. And so this was like a >> it's one of those things where I >> I don't know why, but like sometimes
41:16these fall through the cracks of the Sims where it's like the ownership is high, but it doesn't seem like I don't know. I I I don't know if this
41:23is sharp. Maybe I'd ask for other like postcontest sims to look at it, but like it it feels like one of those things
41:29that like when you look at it, it's like, "Oh, this looks too chalky, too high projected." But it actually seems like it falls in these cracks of these
41:36ownership things where it's like, oh no, nobody's actually playing all of these combinations.
41:43>> Yeah, I think it's I think it's good. I think I think this is a sharp lineup, Nate.
41:47>> I think it's sharp. I think you're on the right track and you've been doing this all year where it's like, look,
41:52you're you're doing good projections, but combinatorically it's just going to be very unique and uh yeah, I I I think it was very sharp.
42:00And maybe it was the smaller field specifically that I was like, "Oh, I just in a bigger field. Obviously, I wouldn't play something like this, but
42:07111 and it Yeah. But >> yeah. And and and to kind of unpack that, like the theory is that, you know,
42:15these these big onslaught are going to do better in smaller fields. In larger fields, you kind of like need to like
42:20hit the nuts, but in smaller fields, like if you have one game that goes off and people don't have those combos, like
42:27you can easily get to the top. So, I I think it was very well thought out.
42:30Honestly, >> I agree. I I I think these types of teams in these smaller um in these smaller contests are quite good. I was I
42:42was much more hesitant about the Cincinnati Jacksonville game than the field because both these teams are super low pace of play. They're both bottom
42:52five in seconds per play and seconds to snap. So, I was just wor like I knew obviously like some pieces would get
42:59there which is what did happen. T mega got there. Uh strange mega got there for the Jags. I was just worried that it was
43:08going to be like yeah there would be three really great individual performances, but this isn't going to be like a Lions game where they run like 92
43:15plays each or or whatever. So, I I went >> I went way lower on all these pieces and and all my stuff. I just know that the
43:23the Bengals are going to have one of these games where like when Burrow gets it together, whatever week he does, it's
43:29always like week five, six, like they they take the first couple weeks off every year it feels like and then they
43:34finally get there. But >> yeah, >> but yeah, I don't know. It didn't sim out well pre-lock, but I was looking at
43:41it and I was like I I think there's something in this that Yeah. But obviously Jamar Chase got hurt, so it didn't do anything, but it it
43:50still had a high score overall. Yeah.
43:52And frankly, I would just I would just say my experience was that I couldn't get I could not get anything that I
44:00built to sim better than 10% sim ROI this morning. I built like 20 different lineups with like guys I liked some like
44:08I literally was just like sorting by like highest projected points just like trying to get something to sim well.
44:13like all the stuff that I did like when I just did the regular sim runner when I just ran like 5,000 teams or whatever
44:19the stuff that was simming well I was like >> yeah man if I guess like if I was a different type of person I would play
44:25that but it was like you know Sam Darnold doubles and and I was just I was like I can't I can't get I can't get to
44:32to any of this stuff. Um so I I passed it. Uh all right guys, Sunday Night Football is starting. Sammy has to go
44:38cry about his San Diego Padres's. We will be back with you guys next week.
44:43I'll be back with you guys tomorrow for the bag check. Uh, make sure you like the video. Make sure you're subscribed
44:48to the channel. And I'll be back with you guys tomorrow.
