A.J. Brown

PositiveInjury0:20

Harris will monitor A.J. Brown's health reports during training camp, looking for signs he's reached an accommodation with his knee issue, which has been a growing problem that typically doesn't go away.

Insight page
PositiveProjection0:21

A.J. Brown is described as a finished product in fantasy football, with the analyst noting they would not be making significant ranking adjustments during training camp.

Insight page

Adonai Mitchell

PositiveSleeper0:49

Host identifies Mitchell as a free flyer option in deeper leagues, noting he won't generate training camp hype like other receivers but could be a useful bench stash in week one or two before being jettisoned for waivers.

Insight page

Alvin Kamara

NegativeRole0:00

Kamara returned to the Saints on a reduced contract ($6 million less) but may be a drain on Etienne's workload; Harris noted Kamara slowed down last year, avoided contact more, and wasn't particularly good before injury.

Insight page

Braelon Allen

PositiveDepth Chart0:52

Allen suffered an injury last year that prevented evaluation of Aaron Glenn's intended three-back committee approach, though he wasn't producing before the injury occurred.

Insight page

Breece Hall

PositiveDepth Chart0:51

Despite Aaron Glenn's repeated messaging about a three-headed backfield approach, Hall played all but four snaps in week one last year, and the host expects similar snap dominance regardless of what the coach says in training camp.

Insight page
PositiveProjection0:53

After signing a contract extension, Hall is essentially locked in as the Jets' lead back and should play 70-75% of snaps, making him a stable fantasy asset despite the poor offensive environment.

Insight page
PositiveValue0:54

Host wants to be on the buy side of Hall if he falls to value pricing, noting this is the first year Hall has fewer questions than in the past three years due to contract extension clarity and lack of holdout/trade concerns.

Insight page

Caleb Douglas

PositiveRole0:40

Caleb Douglas is one of several receivers in the Dolphins camp where the paths are unclear and dozens of potential outcomes exist for who emerges.

Insight page

Chris Bell

PositiveBreakout0:40

Chris Bell was going to be a mid-first-round pick before tearing his knee; the Dolphins got him in the third round, though there's a question about whether he plays at all this year.

Insight page

D.J. Moore

PositiveProjection0:25

DJ Moore could be lifted 5-10 spots higher in rankings if training camp reports confirm he's healthier and more like the player remembered from before, given he was hospitalized last season and played through injury.

Insight page
PositiveInjury0:26

DJ Moore was hospitalized after a game last season and played the following week, suggesting he was not playing close to 100 percent at any point last season, which could improve this year.

Insight page
PositiveRole0:26

If DJ Moore is allowed to freelance more like he used to in Buffalo rather than being forced into Ben Johnson's rigid structure, it could unlock his upside, as he's a player who needs freedom once the ball is snapped.

Insight page
PositiveProjection0:27

One analyst has DJ Moore ranked at WR20 in standard and WR24 in PPR, believing they are ahead of the market on him and that he could push into low-end WR2 status by the end of training camp.

Insight page

De'Von Achane

PositiveValue0:35

Devin Achane falling to the RB9-10 range seems insane given his talent; he should be in the RB5-6 range because the Dolphins will have to commit to the run regardless of game flow.

Insight page
NegativeInjury0:36

Achane's size and workload scare analysts, and the worse the team around him, the more he has to take on, which could lead to worse injuries for him.

Insight page
PositiveProjection0:36

Even if the Dolphins offense is not fine, Devin Achane will score the touchdowns; the market's assumption that he can only max out at five touchdowns is not guaranteed.

Insight page
NegativeBust0:37

Achane is not a stick-your-nose-in-there kind of runner, making it hard for him to live as a pure perimeter player; if the Dolphins don't have other playmakers to distract defenses, corners and safeties will be put out there to stop him from running around the edge.

Insight page
PositiveUsage0:38

The high-value touches in the Dolphins offense almost by definition have to be funneled to Devin Achane this year, and he won't be subbed out at the goal line.

Insight page

Drake Maye

PositiveProjection0:05

Harris's profile expresses cautious optimism about Maye's second-year prospects, highlighting his power, touch, mobility, and exactitude, though noting concerns about his youth and the historical difficulty of one-year wonder quarterbacks repeating success.

Insight page

Garrett Wilson

NegativeBust0:45

Host expresses strong skepticism about Garrett Wilson's draft stock, stating he will ignore him entirely due to recurring training camp hype that doesn't translate to fantasy production, despite acknowledging Wilson's talent as a precise route runner with good body control.

Insight page
PositiveRole0:46

Wilson has experienced hand problems in his NFL career and has suffered from being drafted by the Jets, which has negatively impacted his development despite his talent as a route runner with good ball skills and body control.

Insight page
PositiveValue0:48

Wilson is projected to go in the top 20 receivers for fantasy despite the Jets' quarterback and coaching concerns, representing poor value at his ADP with no discount despite the problematic situation.

Insight page

Geno Smith

NegativeProjection0:47

Host describes Geno Smith's 2024 season with the Raiders as one of the worst quarterback seasons ever from an established player, and doubts Frank Reich and Aaron Glenn can salvage his performance to help Garrett Wilson.

Insight page
NegativeBust0:47

Host dismisses the market's romanticization of Geno Smith's brief success in Seattle, noting that many players have had moments and Smith hasn't shown that level of performance in years.

Insight page

Hunter Henry

PositiveProjection0:20

Harris views Hunter Henry as a solid but unexciting option who is fine and good, likely to be a fantasy starter-ish player without major upside.

Insight page

Jalen Tolbert

PositiveRole0:40

Jalen Tolbert had moments with the Cowboys and is in the Dolphins receiver camp where training camp reports about him taking over the room and looking like an alpha could matter significantly.

Insight page

James Cook

PositiveProjection0:29

James Cook should go in the fantasy first round; he's been unbelievably durable, fantastic, and has turned his career around in the past year and a half.

Insight page
NegativeBust0:31

James Cook is a first-round pick walking a dangerous line because Josh Allen can decide to have 25 rushing touchdowns in a season, leaving Cook with minimal scoring opportunities.

Insight page

Kevin Coleman

PositiveRole0:39

Kevin Coleman is a fifth-round receiver in the Dolphins camp where the receiver situation is extremely up for grabs with no guaranteed targets.

Insight page

Malik Washington

PositiveSleeper0:35

Malik Washington is being monitored as a potential breakout; he was a day-three pick from UVA and could catch 70 passes this year averaging 9.2 yards per catch under Bobby Slowick.

Insight page
PositiveRole0:42

If Malik Washington is basically an extension of the running game receiver—which fits the Dolphins' run-based offense—that would be a key indicator to pay attention to in training camp reports.

Insight page

Malik Willis

NegativeProjection0:40

Malik Willis is the Dolphins quarterback, and his presence as a limited passer means the receiver situation may not matter much regardless of who emerges.

Insight page

Ray Davis

NegativeRole0:30

Ray Davis has limited ability and became the kickoff returner; he would likely get stuck in an unsatisfying committee if James Cook got hurt, with Josh Allen potentially taking goal-line carries instead.

Insight page

Rhamondre Stevenson

PositiveProjection0:15

Harris and Doherty have Stevenson ranked in the RB31 range, with no expected significant movement unless injury occurs or major role changes emerge.

Insight page

Romeo Doubs

PositiveRole0:21

If Dobbs takes on the Stephon Diggs role with easier underneath targets and button usage in the passing game—something he didn't get in Green Bay—his ADP is too low at barely a WR4, and he could be a WR3.

Insight page
PositiveRole0:21

Doherty will monitor whether Dobbs takes on the Stephon Diggs role with easier underneath targets and easy button usage in the passing game, which he didn't receive in Green Bay, as this could significantly impact his fantasy value.

Insight page
PositiveValue0:22

Dobbs' ADP is outside the top 50, and he received significant money ($64-80 million), suggesting the market is undervaluing him relative to his contract and potential role.

Insight page

Terrace Marshall

PositiveRole0:40

Terrace Marshall is in the Dolphins receiver camp where the situation is extremely up for grabs with no guaranteed targets penciled in.

Insight page

Travis Etienne

NegativeProjection0:03

Harris dropped Etienne a few spots in the running back ranks to RB19 standard (RB20 PPR) due to Alvin Kamara's return to the Saints, reducing his workload security despite having around 70% of carries last season.

Insight page

Trayvon Henderson

PositiveBreakout0:15

Doherty views Henderson as a rare young running back where training camp clichés about increased trust and faster play could actually matter; he's ranked around RB21-23 with potential to move up to RB18-19 if he shows improvement in pass protection and vision.

Insight page

Tutu Atwell

NegativeBust0:40

Tutu Atwell never had a moment in his life, so there's no reason to get excited about him in the Dolphins receiver competition.

0:00It's the Harris Fantasy Football Podcast with your host Christopher Harris.
0:04Hey everybody, welcome in. My name is Chris and this show is guaranteed to have between zero and one parasite.
0:10Thank you so much for listening today. How the heck are you?
0:14I appreciate you being back here for the little podcast that could for another fun season.
0:19Would you believe we actually got some July 16th news that matters?
0:23It's subject to debate how much it matters, but in the NFL in July we'll take every little bit we can.
0:30If you were listening along last week, you heard Jim McCormick come on the show and we talked about training camps for teams in the NFC South.
0:39And I was probably a little bit adamant like, no man, I really don't think Alvin Kamara is coming back to the Saints.
0:46And I probably made Jim frame his preview of Travis Etienne through that lens.
0:51And then, lo and behold, we got the news that Thursday, in fact I am a doofus.
0:57That part wasn't news, but the other news was Alvin Kamara will be back with the Saints, albeit he took a significant haircut, something like $6 million less.
1:06I guess, you know, the point was that there was no way Kamara would be back at his contract number, which that was true.
1:14But Kamara wanted to be in New Orleans. He's definitely a franchise icon.
1:18And we are now forced to contend with a 2026 season that has, at least until someone gets injured, both Etienne and Kamara in the same backfield.
1:27Also, it lets me play this. Bitchin' Kamara! Bitchin' Kamara!
1:30So, revisiting the question of what Saints storylines will be worth keeping track of in training camp, does the Etienne-Kamara split go into that hopper?
1:38I think probably yes. Truthfully, Kamara was still already on the pay attention to me list that Jimmy and I came up
1:45with for that division on that show last week.
1:48Even though I really did think we'd probably be paying attention to him somewhere else and he would go somewhere where there was a clearer, bigger role.
1:57But anyway, he's not. In New Orleans, the problem is that, you know, for the purposes of actually knowing anything, I'm fairly
2:04certain Kellen Moore is not going to gather the beat reporters around him after a day of training camp and say, Alright,
2:12boys, here's exactly how I plan on deploying Etienne and Kamara.
2:15So, I'm a little skeptical that, you know, big info is going to be forthcoming.
2:20What I expect is, well, you know, Etienne obviously gets run with the ones, but then they put Kamara out there some too.
2:28Both guys look amazing. Hey, even Kendra Miller seems to be coming back from his knee.
2:33Hey, Devin Neal is a good backup. They really got this running back room on lock.
2:38But I will definitely allow for the possibility that we get news that feels different from that.
2:44Something like, yeah, I don't know. Kamara's kind of just getting treated like another backup.
2:48This is obviously Etienne's gig. Kamara's talking about how, well, you know, I don't play that much, but I'm happy to help the new guy.
2:57Maybe I'll be in there for a couple third downs.
3:00I don't think that's what's going to happen. But I'll allow for the possibility.
3:04And why does it matter? You know, I made a change in the ranks.
3:09Upon this news yesterday, I did drop Etienne a few spots in the running back ranks.
3:14He's down at RB19 standard. Actually lower than that, 20 PPR.
3:18That's updated in the running back ranks at harrishopal.com.
3:21Because knee jerk, while yes, there are precious few running backs who get anywhere near an NFL team's full workload anymore, only
3:28two running backs had more than 80% of his team's carries last year.
3:32Jonathan Taylor, Ashton Gentty. Even having a really good year last season in Jacksonville, Etienne only had around 70%.
3:39So yeah, it's not going to be breaking news to me that the Saints might not give Etienne the truly massive workload.
3:46And I'm not sure they would have. Even Kamara had left.
3:49But I have to admit, if the quote-unquote someone else was Kendra Miller and Devin Neal, how could you not feel a little more secure?
3:57Alvin Kamara has a legit great career behind him.
4:00He didn't look great last year. I thought he slowed down.
4:04I watched more tape yesterday. I thought he avoided contact more.
4:08I thought he wasn't particularly good before he got injured.
4:11But he is a franchise legend. And he has been one of the great receiving backs of the 21st century.
4:17And I think he probably is a little more of a drain on Etienne than the younger guys would have been, theoretically.
4:25Now, as I say, if we get into August and the Saints are disavowing that like crazy, I will pay attention.
4:32That's a story that could matter if clarity is forthcoming.
4:35I'm a little skeptical it is forthcoming. But if it is, I'm willing to change Etienne's rank back up a few spots higher among the running backs.
4:44So I did have to write an Alvin Kamara profile, after all, for the forthcoming almanac.
4:49And also amend the profiles of Etienne and Miller and Neal.
4:52That is done. We are getting close. The 2026 Harris Football Player Profile Almanac is coming, the first edition on August 3rd.
5:00I got an email from Ben B. in Washington, D.C.
5:03Hey, Harris. Currently being slow-boiled over here in D.C.
5:06My wife's birthday is on August 2nd. Do you think giving her a pre-order receipt to the almanac and suggesting she study
5:13up so she doesn't come in last in our home league again would be a good present?
5:19Oh, Ben. You shouldn't have done that. Hopefully she doesn't listen to the show.
5:23Yes, I think very much if you gave her that receipt and she could wait to the next day and then she
5:30has a lot of homework ahead of her, ahead of the draft, I think she'd love you all the more.
5:37But you know what? Let's give the folks another taste.
5:40Let's read another profile. This one from the AFC East, since that's what we're talking about today.
5:46One of my favorites, actually, in this profile. It goes like this.
5:50It's Drake Maye. Dearest father, I hope this letter finds you well.
5:54I write from aboard my high seas vessel, huddled in the less than comforting embrace of a number 10 New England Patriots
6:01jersey, drenched in sea spray and desperately trying not to repeat mistakes of the past.
6:06And yet, with my compass needle jammed and the overcast offering no bearing, I fear familiar waters that have previously run me aground.
6:13It was but one year ago I pronounced myself a believer in the siren's song of shocking youth.
6:19I supposed it was the sun on my face and not the heat of false promise.
6:24When I reached this point in my journey in the summer of 2025, I cast my lot with a tyke who'd laid
6:32waste, who'd made his station appear easy, and who'd bent the qualities of matter to his will during the most unexpected of January expeditions.
6:39This precocious yunker had performed his magic exactly once, but it was enough for me.
6:44His name was Daniels. He made me a fool.
6:47Father, this time around, it's all so familiar. Again, I know not whether I'm pointed boreal or austral.
6:53Again, a veritable child has presented himself with truly ludicrous promise.
6:57Again, it seems nothing should go wrong. I am chilled not merely by my surroundings, but also by coincidence.
7:03Dare I nominate another nestling to be my helmsman?
7:06I, in theory, circumstances are contrastive. Contrastive, he said.
7:09Daniels, in retrospect, may have been a pony with mostly one trick.
7:13His aerial attack aroused some belief, but his sea legs were most alluring.
7:17This new boy, may, certainly moves well, but it is the aggressiveness of his aviation that evokes most luminous comparisons.
7:24It was only one season, but this shaver was poised and maneuverable, coercive and exact.
7:28To review his performance is to watch a nipper behave as might a leathery old salt.
7:34Watch him swashbuckle against those buccaneers with deep precision.
7:37See him out-virtue some saints with improvisational glory. If May's privateer logs suggested he'd been skirting Davy Jones' locker for a decade, I'd believe it.
7:45Nevertheless, I am at least rudderless, and if you saw my state, you might say terror-struck.
7:50This past January, May's juvenility showed, and his waters will not be so calm in 26.
7:55Last year, his crew was blessed by unearthly vitality, and he himself wielded no particular reputation for heroic deeds.
8:02Like Daniels before him, Father, May has only done this one time, and now expectations are hugesome.
8:07And yet here I am, spinning near-blind on the turquoise hydrosphere, once again ready to embrace the risk of the possible.
8:14Power, touch, mobility, exactitude. At his best, the boy evinces all these.
8:18I fear this communique may never find you, and I'll be cast away forever, chasing the new at the expense of the steady.
8:25But you schooled me for boldness. You schooled me for belief.
8:29And so where some see a tot, I force myself to see that most stupendous of creatures.
8:35A footie pajama king. Truly. That was very early.
8:38That was like the first day that I wrote profiles.
8:41I got ambitious there. May's profile also then has a research project that investigates some one-year wonder quarterbacks over the past 20
8:48years, wondering how likely it is we get yet another, because we've been burned here lately with the likes of C.J.
8:55Stroud and Jaden Daniels not being able to follow up their great first season.
8:59Anyway, I think you'll enjoy the almanac. I even think Ben's wife might enjoy the almanac.
9:05You can pre-order it right now at harrisfootball.com. Today's kickoff.
9:08Okay, on today's show, our division-by-division previews of training camps continue.
9:12We have talked NFC and AFC South. We talked NFC East just this past Tuesday.
9:16Today, as I've said, it will be the teams of the AFC East.
9:21There's about to be so much noise and so much hype.
9:24What should we be susceptible to? What should we try to ignore?
9:28Hopefully, we can get some click discipline going for the footy pajama patriots, the Bills, the Dolphins, and the Jets.
9:35To help me do that, Patrick Doherty from Rotoworld.
9:38He will join. It'll be fun. Thank you again so much for listening today.

9:58I, for one, I'm very glad for Trust and Will.

10:49Today's guest. The Berkeley of a personality. Charlie Day, Ringo Starr.
10:52Mr. Also Important at Roto World. Welcome Pat Doherty.
10:55He is Patrick Doherty. That walk-up music goes back a good 11 years or so.
11:00You can find him all over social media. Just look up Roto Pat.
11:04You can hear him on the great Roto World football show with our friend Danny Carter and read him over Roto World as well.
11:12And now, it's so exciting for me, Pat. I have to imagine that this feature was invented with me in mind.
11:19The blurbs, the individual blurbs on Roto World now have attribution.
11:23So I never have to wonder whether you wrote the blurb.
11:26You don't. And now you'll be wondering when I do write blurbs.
11:30Fair. You can see my name on there a ton this summer.
11:34I've been doing some other stuff this summer. I blurb a lot more during the season.
11:39But yes, at long last, we weren't entirely in favor.
11:43But the logic behind it, we all decided it was necessary.
11:46The logic behind it, want to project this is not AI, for instance.
11:51Where now any uncredited writing at this point is almost just assumed to be AI.
11:55Wanted to send the message like, no, this is indeed not AI.
11:59And maybe have the writers just take a little more ownership of it in this AI era.
12:05True end of an era. True end of an era, but it felt like time.
12:10Yeah, and I completely understand why the thought would be not to do it.
12:14Because it's not about us. It's about the product.
12:17It's about the thing. But I think from a perspective of somebody who once long ago left a big media company and
12:25felt like wanted to be differentiated somewhat, I think the opportunity for the individual writers to develop a little bit of a,
12:32hey, this is a me kind of thing is great.
12:35And then also just from a power user of the site, you know I'm constantly texting you about, hey, this is baloney.
12:42I didn't like this one. I can't imagine what it's like in May to be getting an angry text from me saying,
12:49hey, this blurb that you didn't write, I'm very upset by it.
12:53But I do think it, as a reader, I like it.
12:57I like the idea that, okay, this is this guy's take.
13:01This is not the state take. This is not the everybody at Rotor World stands behind their take.
13:06Yeah. That is the thing. We liked the state take.
13:10We liked trying to have a unified voice as a site.
13:13And not that anyone was ever pressured into writing a take they didn't agree with.
13:18But it was just meant to promote like kind of, let's try to have a bigger picture outlook.
13:24And let's also not send mixed messages. You know, one blurb we don't want to say, you got to add them.
13:31And then the very follow-up blurb's like, this guy can never be added.
13:35It was meant to try to create a bit of a unified voice within reason, of course.
13:41But yeah, everything has its time. And it was time to ditch the non-bylined blurbs.
13:46Right. And to be honest, I have to say, I think that state take kind of failed.
13:51Like I think by the end, you were getting too many contrary kind of things on the site.
13:57That wasn't just by the end. It was, that was the entire time.
14:01But well, it was a noble, noble pursuit. It was a noble cause.
14:06Yeah. Yeah. Anyway, big fan, big fan over here of everything that Rotor World does.
14:11And I look forward to, of course, all your columns.
14:14Every time I see one, I tweet about it or I skit about it or whatever the heck we do.
14:20Um, and so you're great and I'm excited to have you here to talk about the preview, the training camps for the AFC East.
14:28And we're going to start with my footie pajama patriots.
14:31Um, what can we learn in training camp or what should we ignore in training camp?
14:37I, I'm going to assume backfield. Well, first of all, we're not going to talk a lot of Drake May because you
14:44got him where you got him unless he's hurt.
14:47You know, I just read his profile a couple of minutes ago on the show, uh, from the Almanac.
14:53Um, and even like the backfield, I assume you're relatively locked in on wherever you have Henderson ranked, wherever you have Stevenson ranked.
15:01I assume it's some level of split because all backfields are some level of split.
15:05Let me ask you this. Is there a level of hype on Travion in training camp that could get you to budge
15:13off of where you are on those two guys?
15:16I think a fairly minimal level of hype. Like he, he's a guy where I would accept even cliches.
15:22Like it's still early enough in his career where I feel like cliches might mean something.
15:27Like cliches, like he's got more trust from the coaching staff this year, or he's playing faster than he did as a rookie.
15:35Like two yearly cliches that we hear that usually don't mean anything.
15:39But if they ever do mean anything, it's typically with a young player.
15:43It's frequently with a young running back. And two, it might actually mean something.
15:47It means less when it's someone who's never produced.
15:50Travion Henderson at least produced as a rookie. Had some big games, had some big plays.
15:56So it's not like some guy's playing faster who, that's just compared to how he looked on the practice squad.
16:02I would, Travion is the rare guy where this year I am, even if we're just getting boilerplate quotes from the coaching
16:09staff, boilerplate notebook reports from the media. I would take notice because there's not a whole lot standing between him and a
16:16bigger role and a lot more fantasy points than he scored last year.
16:21And he's a guy where if he just comes out and has the classic good training camp, I really will be paying attention.
16:28It could end up meaning nothing, of course, as it so frequently does.
16:33But he is in the strike zone, the very limited small strike zone, where I feel like that stuff actually matters.
16:39So I am paying attention to that stuff with Travion Henderson this summer.
16:44So I'm probably less so, but I understand where you're coming from.
16:48Maybe it has something to do with where we have them ranked.
16:51I have Travion like 21 and Stevenson like 31.
16:54Is that, are those the neighborhoods that you... The exact same range.
16:58I cannot, for a guest job by me, I can't quite recall my exact rank, but it is that exact range.
17:05Yeah, that range, that's fine. Here's why, like the things that I need to know about Travion, I actually don't think a
17:12beat reporter observer will be able to observe. Because my concerns with Travion, and again, we're ranking him, you know, 20, 21, 22, whatever.
17:20Like we're saying, take a shot on him as an RB2, he might get better.
17:25But there were some obvious problems. And it's hard to construct a resume that's like really enticing for fantasy when it's basically
17:32like, cool, you either get an 80-yard run or you do, you know, seven touches for 17 yards.
17:38Because this kid appeared not to be able to see color.
17:42Or I don't know. I don't... That's called the Miles Sanders, by the way.
17:46The little Miles Sanders. A little Raheem Mostert in the game, maybe.
17:50Like no rhythm, like just kind of running as fast as he could and smashing into things and falling down.
17:57No ability to cut back at all. And like, and of course then the past, you know, I've said this a million
18:04times on the show, but the past protection problems where the one thing everybody agreed on as a prospect was, my God,
18:11Travion Henderson is the most complete pass blocker you've ever seen.
18:15He comes into the league and they quite literally can't trust him on third down.
18:20They didn't play him at all. They were like, he's a disaster.
18:24So these are all areas where he can 100% improve.
18:27I just am not sure that I would believe it coming from like Mike Reese's mouth.
18:32There's only so many open practices, I know. But they will be able to observe is Mike Rabel screaming at Travion Henderson today.
18:40This training camp is the one time where the media can actually see this stuff.
18:45They get to see real padded practices. And there's joint practices.
18:48Right. Yeah, joint practices too. They matter. Yeah, yeah.
18:51And it's another thing with Travion. I'm glad you brought up the pass protection because that was the horrible incongruency between his
18:58prospect profile and then his rookie performance. The fact that he came into the league with it as a supposed strength would
19:06lead me to believe he can come back around on that.
19:09And it's an area where he can actually improve.
19:12And I think the media could hopefully see and diagnose that.
19:16But the problem with my points is that even if this stuff happens, it couldn't end up meaning nothing.
19:22But he's just in the rare era state of his career where it might matter.
19:27I accept it. I accept what you're saying. Let me ask you this.
19:31Just like if you get everything you want to hear within reason, not Ramondre being hurt or them saying, you know, we've cut Ramondre Stevenson or something.
19:40Does Henderson have like real legit upward mobility in your running back ranks if you get to hear what you want to hear?
19:47I think so. I mean, I'm not going to put him higher than RB18, but I could see a scenario where maybe...
19:55I mean, that matters. Yeah. No, that's a big difference.
19:58Going from 22 to 23 would be... Going from 22 or 23 to 18 or 19 would be a big difference.
20:05I would say that is a possible outcome for me.
20:08All right. Pass catching wise, I just don't... You know, unless he's hurt, A.J.
20:13Brown, you know, it probably is wherever you have him, wherever I have him in our ranks.
20:18That's fine. We can kind of... I'm going to plan on glossing over the fawning over A.J.
20:24Brown. I would love to find someone else with Drake May to be excited as a pass catcher.
20:30I'm not going to buy hype on Hunter Henry.
20:33You know, he is what he is. He's fine.
20:36He's good. He probably can be a fantasy starter-ish, but just be kind of boring.
20:40I just have a hard time imagining what like Romeo Dobbs camp hype even sounds like.
20:46Too quick though. On A.J. Brown, I will be looking for like, I guess more cliches, but looks healthier than he has in years.
20:54Looking much smoother than he did the final two years in Philadelphia.
20:57And just maybe some indication he's reached an accommodation with his knee, basically.
21:02Because it's been a growing issue. The kind of issue that does not usually go away, of course.
21:08But I will be paying attention just to the offhanded health reports of A.J.
21:12Brown. But I do totally agree with you. It's not...
21:15I'm not going to adjust my A.J. Brown ranking at this point.
21:19Like, talk about what we believe to be a finished product in fantasy football.
21:24I'd be pretty bad at my job if I were greatly adjusting my A.J.
21:29Brown rank during training camp. Dobbs, the only thing I will be looking for, if we get this drumbeat that he's taking
21:36the Steph Diggs role, and for the first time in his career, he's actually getting easier looks, more underneath targets, some easy
21:43button usage in the passing game, the kind of stuff he just didn't get in Green Bay.
21:49I would pay attention to that because I think the belief was maybe, just because of how good they are as players,
21:56that it was going to be more A.J. Brown, doing Stephon Diggs type stuff.
22:00But we know they're different kind of players. And maybe it's underestimating the degree that Romeo Dobbs is going to do that,
22:07even though he's always been more of a downfield guy too.
22:11That's just been an early talking point coming out of Patriots practices.
22:15And if we get this drumbeat, like Dobbs is doing the Diggs thing.
22:19I think Dobbs' ADP is a little low. He's basically going as a barely there wide receiver four.
22:25And I think he could be a wide receiver three.
22:28I don't think he has the upside for much higher than wide receiver 34 to 36 range.
22:34He is, I think, the Patriot, even more than Travion Henderson, where I will be dialed in on training camp reports.
22:41Yeah, I'm compiling a list that, in each of these eight shows in July, that when the guest kind of hits on a player.
22:49I didn't plan on adding Dobbs, but the more you talked about it, the more I'm like, yeah, we probably could believe
22:56the reports that say he's just in the slot way more than he ever was in Green Bay.
23:02That is a concrete thing that we could hear.
23:05And that's the Diggs role. And it was pretty valuable last year.
23:09Like, there's a limit to it. But especially in PPR, like, yeah, I'm struggling right now to get him in my top
23:1650 because there's receivers are all the same down there.
23:19But being paired with May in a role that we've seen be valuable, I get where you're coming from.
23:25Yeah, I believe his ADP is outside the top 50, too, not just your ranking.
23:30So not a lot of belief in a guy that, I mean, how much money did he get?
23:36Was it like $80 million? Not that that tells the entire story.
23:40Maybe it was only $64 million. Great preparation by me there.
23:44But a lot of money is kind of how I would put it.
23:48And so we'll see what happens. We are sponsored again this season by Wild Grain, the first Bake from Frozen subscription box
23:55for sourdough breads, artisanal pastries, and fresh pastas. Let me tell you a little Wild Grain story from last week.
24:02I had my latest box. Now the snickerdoodles and the blueberry biscuits were already gone.
24:07But I still had a beautiful loaf of slow fermented olive oil ciabatta.
24:11I was having a friend over for dinner. Kind of a last minute scramble.
24:15No time to go to the bakery. And who needs it?
24:19Because everything from Wild Grain bakes from frozen. It was 20 minutes in the oven.
24:24Another like 15 minutes to cool. It is unbelievable how absolutely fresh everything from Wild Grain tastes.
24:29It tasted so good. And you're not in a race against time like when you buy fresh at the bakery.
24:36You can just bake it whenever you want. Imagine having bakery quality bread, pastries, and pasta at home with any trips to the store.
24:44You won't believe it. It is so good. I recommend it.
24:47Give it a try. Plus get $30 off your first box and free croissants for life when you go to wildgrain.com slash Harris to start your subscription.
24:56$30 off and free croissants for life. Wildgrain.com slash Harris.
25:00We're back with Pat and we are talking through the teams of the AFC East and their training camps.
25:06We're on to the bills. You know, Josh Allen should have receivers who matter for fantasy.
25:11That seems like obvious, but they haven't. Now you're asking for too much.
25:15I know a couple straight years where when Khalil Shakir and his three yards per catch or whatever, three air yards per catch is your big allure.
25:24It's pretty gross. They seem to have tried to address it trading a second round pick very controversially for the little badass DJ Moore.
25:32You know, I assume you're interested. I assume you have eyeballs and see that the possibility is out there for a Josh
25:39Allen receiver to once again post Devon Diggs actually produce for fantasy.
25:43But I also assume you feel burned enough that you're not going to go crazy on DJ Moore.
25:49Is there a level of positive hype that could see you, you know, lift him out of your ranks, dust him off
25:56a little bit and put him like five to ten spots higher?
26:00I hate to sound gullible, but I guess yes is the answer.
26:04Two things I'm looking for for DJ Moore. Along the same lines of A.J.
26:09Brown, I would not be surprised at all if we hear stuff like he was just never right last year.
26:15You know, he was literally hospitalized after a game and then played the following week.
26:20I think he was probably not playing particularly close to 100 percent at any point last season.
26:26I guess that's true of probably a majority of players, but it seemed particularly extreme in his case that he was out there battling.
26:33And I would like to hear that he's just more like the DJ Moore we remembered this year.
26:39And then he's finally healthy over whatever was ailing him last year.
26:43Maybe the other thing would be, I guess the Bills offense has kind of gotten away from this.
26:49But if we hear like DJ Moore is being allowed to freelance more like he used to, because him and Ben Johnson did not see eye to eye.
26:58And I'm assuming that was probably part of it.
27:01Just not executing the offense the way like a taskmaster like Ben Johnson wanted him to.
27:06And then maybe if they're in Buffalo, they're just going to let him do his thing, kind of go out there, get
27:14open for Josh Allen, who's one of the best quarterbacks to do that with, even though he's been doing that less in recent years.
27:22If we hear him like they're letting DJ Moore do his thing, I would pay attention to that.
27:27Because I think that was one of the reasons why he failed so spectacularly for Ben Johnson is maybe he was being
27:35forced to play too rigidly in structure. And he's a guy that just needs a little freedom out there once the ball is snapped.
27:42So I will be, that's one thing we might not hear anything on it, but that is one report I'm kind of waiting in anticipation of in Buffalo.
27:52I think maybe I baked it into my, I'm such a DJ Moore honk.
27:56I'm absolutely, you know, just, I'm always ready to believe.
27:59I probably already baked that possibility into my, I have them 20 among standard receivers, like 24 among PPR.
28:06I don't really look at ADP this time of year because it's, you know, nonsense and best ball bros and stuff.
28:13And, but I have been told, and I assume as is usually the case with Moore, that I'm just ahead of the market on him.
28:21I'm trying to think of, for me, is there anything other than injury that I can hear that would make me go, whoa, I'm backing off.
28:29Probably not. Probably not. I'm such a honk. But I assume you have him lower.
28:34Or is there a world where he can get as high on your list as I have him on mine?
28:41Well, how high do you have him on yours?
28:44How high are we talking here? I don't have, I have him in the lower 20s.
28:49I could, there is a world where by the end of training camp, I do make rather dramatic rankings changes sometimes in
28:56camp because you get really locked in on your priors over like six months of the off season where there's just nothing actually changing.
29:04And then stuff can change at such a dizzying rate in training camp.
29:08A lot of times you're going to have that.
29:11Wow, that was pretty dumb to ever have him as low as wide receiver 32 or whatever.
29:17So I could see DJ Moore. I have him in more as like a mid-range wide receiver three right now.
29:23I could see him pushing in to low end wide receiver two status, say six weeks from now for me.
29:30All right. Well, I therefore don't have upward mobility, but you might.
29:34That's interesting. There's not too much else in the Buffalo training camp that's that interesting.
29:39I'll tell you this though. I said this in my notes to you.
29:43James Cook should have a handcuff. He's a little guy.
29:46He's been unbelievably durable. He's been fantastic. He got the new contract.
29:50I wish nothing but the best. He should go in the fantasy first round.
29:55He's going to go in the fantasy first round.
29:58He's been wonderful. You know, turned his career around like a year and a half in.
30:03He's getting benched for Damian Harris. Like he has, you know, really changed the kind of running back that he is.
30:10He's great, but he's little. And I wish we could get a handcuff out of him because it would make me feel
30:17better about taking him in the first round. If in the 14th, I could take someone.
30:22The problem is that Ray Davis, whose rookie film I really liked, limited ability.
30:27He became the kickoff returner basically. Is there anything that could convince you that Davis is a legit, like he would inherit
30:34the earth if James Cook got hurt in August?
30:37Not really. He seems like the kind of player to me that would just get stuck in an unsatisfying committee.
30:43Like Ty Johnson is really involved as a third down back.
30:47Or even if Ty Johnson gets cut, some other random guys really involved as the third down back.
30:53And then for Ray Davis, like, well, at least they'll get the goal line carries.
30:58But I could see that being a scenario where it's just Josh Allen gets even more goal line carries.
31:04So Ray Davis, unfortunately, I don't know if he has another gear to ascend in either his role or his ranking.
31:11Well, let's, I mean, I think that's a judgment on the player.
31:15Let's say they say it. Let's say they say Ray Davis really looks like a player now.
31:20We're talking about maybe renewing his contract, you know, like next year.
31:24We think he's going to get a second contract.
31:27And we think we have our backup in case James Cook gets hurt.
31:31Like teams don't usually say things like that. But if you heard that, would you start to believe?
31:37Okay, if I take Cook. I mean, we're arguing about angels on the head of a pin here.
31:43I understand. But like rather than a judgment about whether you think he himself has the extra gear, if you heard that
31:50someone say in Buffalo they had the extra gear, are you programmed to just ignore that?
31:56I wouldn't ignore that. But I guess we're programmed to just know that that wouldn't happen.
32:01Okay. Ray Davis saying you don't believe it. Yeah.
32:04Yeah. Ray Davis, I have been burned by him in the past.
32:08I will freely admit that. But there's just other – the Cook, despite being a slight guy, there are other situations where
32:15I'd be more dialed in on the contingencies than James.
32:18James Cook just doesn't seem like an area where I'm going to get a whole lot of contingency goodness from the guys behind him.
32:26Yeah. And your point is so right. It's really – the answer is because of Josh Allen.
32:32It's just Cook is already walking – as a first-round pick is walking a dangerous line because Josh Allen can just go,
32:39you know, this year I think I want to have 25 rushing touchdowns.
32:43And suddenly, you know, and suddenly Cook is like, oh, cool.
32:47So that means I get three? And Josh Allen's like, yeah, you get three.
32:51And then we all cry. So, yeah, it is – the answer is probably no.
32:56I agree. All right. Miami, the Dolphins. I guess the upside – The Dolphins and Jets also in the NFL.
33:03That's right. And like as everybody – well, here's the thing.
33:06Let's just have a meta conversation about that because it's going to inform everything I'm going to ask you about with those two teams.
33:14Because they're so widely presumed to be horrendous, and they probably will be horrendous, but you know I say this all the time.
33:22I'm trying to make my anticipation of what the teams are like be as little a possible factor as I can because we're wrong all the time.
33:31The Patriots would have been on that list last year.
33:34The Jags might have been on that list last year.
33:37Like the Colts certainly were on that list last year.
33:40We're wrong all the time. Am I wrong to enter training camps kind of looking for reasons to find value in an
33:48eighth-round pick, a sixth-round pick, a 14th-round pick? Because these guys' markets, except for like A-Chan and Brees Hall, these guys' markets
33:55are all going to get so depressed because everyone's positive those teams have no chance?
34:00No, you're not wrong because value has just become so difficult to find as the market has become so efficient.
34:06There's still inefficiencies in ADP, but it tends to be in the opposite direction as it used to be, whereas 10 years
34:13ago there could be a young player. Basically everyone, quote-unquote, knew was going to have a bigger role, and the drafting public
34:21just wouldn't sink in with the drafting public, and the ADP would never adjust.
34:25And people like us would clean up and say our home league drafts because the words never trickled down.
34:31That doesn't happen anymore where sleepers are almost over-indexed now, so you get guys like Basial Tootin going in the top 24.
34:39It's harder to find value than it used to be unless you're willing.
34:43I guess now the value is always with older players.
34:46People don't want to draft, but there's going to be value somewhere in this Dolphins' skill core because the only guy with an ADP is Devin Achan.
34:55No one else even has an ADP. So I'm definitely sifting through the Dolphins' camp reports.
35:00Unfortunately, I hate to be such a naive, I guess what it would be called, slappy.
35:05I will be monitoring the Malik Washington reports. I did like him as a day three pick coming out of UVA, but
35:13Mike McDaniel, I know there are two good guys ahead of him.
35:17Mike McDaniel couldn't make Malik Washington a thing. I'm not really sure why Bobby Slowick was going to, but he is the
35:24guy where it could be like Malik Washington caught 70 passes this year, and he averaged 9.2 yards per catch.
35:30I'm not sure why they did that, but it all counts the same in fantasy football.
35:35I am monitoring Malik Washington. Devin Achan, by the way.
35:39I can't remember if you asked me about Devin Achan yet or not, but talk about a bet on talent draft pick.
35:46Like, him falling to the RB 9-10 range seems insane to me.
35:50I know it's such a bad offensive environment, but the Dolphins are the rare team where they're going to have to be
35:57committed to the run no matter what the score is, no matter what the game flow is.
36:03Because I'm going to bet on Devin Achan's talent.
36:06I think he should still be in the RB 5-6 range, and he's going in the 9-10 range.
36:11Yeah, these are two very conflicting forces for me, because on the one hand, Achan's size and workload scares the bejesus out
36:19of me, and there are injuries out there for him.
36:22Especially, I think, the worse of the team around him.
36:25There are probably worse injuries for him, because he has to take on more and more.
36:30And then yet, the market forces that are saying the Dolphins have no chance, and he can only max out at five touchdowns or whatever.
36:39That's just, we don't know that for sure. There's a possibility the Dolphins could wind up being a fine, a perfectly okay offense.
36:46We don't know. Even if they're not, who's going to score the touchdowns?
36:50It's going to be Devin Achan. You know, I guess probably I'm a little suspicious of the who else is there argument,
36:58because if you're, you know, there's always someone else.
37:01They'll always put some other body in there. Ollie Gordon accidentally gets, you know, seven touchdowns and ruins everything.
37:07But I think I'm more likely to be on the Achan side of things.
37:11I can't believe it after the way this has gone.
37:15And I've been wrong. I've obviously been wrong on Achan.
37:18I've just been terrified. You know, he is not a stick your nose in there kind of runner.
37:24And I think it's hard. It's hard to live as a pure perimeter player, but he's just so fast that he's been able to do it.
37:32But I guess the reason to be a doubter is to say, yeah, but they always had somebody else to distract the defense from the edges.
37:41And if they just don't have any other playmakers, then they're going to put, you know, they're going to put corners out there for God's sake.
37:49They're going to put safeties out there. They're just not going to let him run around the edge the way he does
37:56all his big plays around the edge practically. And I guess that's right.
38:01And that's the disaster. That's how it doesn't work out for Achan.
38:05But I like what you said. Like, I don't know if this is so much about camp because it's hard to imagine
38:12we're going to get a training camp out of Devon Achan where the beat reporters are like, I don't know.
38:18They might not be using them that much. Like, you know, he's pretty much locked into what he's going to do.
38:25But like, he's so small. I don't want 300 carries out of him.
38:30I don't. I'm happy to have, you know, Jalen Wright take some of the work.
38:34Great. Between the 20s. Fantastic. Ollie Gordon, every so often on fourth and one.
38:39Please take the hammering because I don't want Achan taking those hits.
38:43He's tiny. But I can't believe it. I think I'm probably, you know, I'm with you.
38:48I don't think he belongs at RB11 or whatever.
38:51No, and just every, too, I'll be totally fine with him being subbed out frequently on early downs because he's not going
38:58to be subbed out at the goal line. The high value touches in this offense almost by definition have to be funneled to Devon Achan this year.
39:07And also, I feel like we'll get a little motivated reasoning from the Dolphins.
39:12Like, we just extended this guy. We made him the face of the franchise base.
39:17So, like, he's the one thing the fans have to live for this year.
39:21Like, damn it, we're going to get Devon Achan as numbers.
39:25I'm just not very worried about Devon Achan. Right.
39:28Well, and so maybe we're going to get to August and feel like, of all things, you know, now we're – I can't believe it, but he's value.
39:37You know, whereas I did not call him that previously.
39:40You mentioned one receiver, Malik Washington. They have a whole lot of them.
39:44They have a whole lot. It seems for sure like I'm going to put this group on the list of things to
39:52pay attention to because there's three rookies, are there?
39:55Maybe it's just two real rookies. I believe there are three.
39:58If you consider Kevin Coleman, I can't believe we have to deal with Tevin Coleman and Kevin Coleman on a podcast in
40:05which people can't see my face and I have to go, Kevin Coleman.
40:10So he's the fifth rounder, but then Chris Bell, who was really going to be a first-round pick, I guess, right?
40:16I wrote a profile for him. I learned all about him.
40:20Like, he was – until he tore up his knee, this was going to be a mid-first-round pick, and they got him in the third.
40:28And there's obviously a question about whether he plays at all this year.
40:33There's Caleb Douglas. There's also Jalen Tolbert, who had moments here and there with the Cowboys.
40:38There's Tutu Atwell, who never had a moment in his life, so let's not get excited about that.
40:44But Terrace Marshall is in that camp. Jalen Rieger is in that camp.
40:48I just don't even – I mean, there's so many guys that there are dozens of potential paths that this could take
40:55where people start talking about an undeniable type player.
40:58Probably, probably none of them are undeniable, and the quarterback is Malik Willis, so maybe it doesn't even matter if they're undeniable.
41:05But, again, this is the kind of place where if we can get a little bit of a toehold, just a little
41:12bit of insight out of these camp reports about how well the rookies are acclimating, about Jalen Tolbert really taking over that
41:20room and looking like an alpha, about Malik Washington being a dynamo out of the slot.
41:25Like, this is – I think that matters a lot because so many people are just going to be dismissing the entire situation out of hand.
41:33Absolutely. This is, like, the dictionary definition situation where somebody does have to catch the ball.
41:39Like, it's also the extremely rare situation where I – literally no one is penciled in to guaranteed targets.
41:45So I don't know if I've ever seen a receiver core where things were this up for grabs where you don't even
41:52know – like, usually, like, there's two guys who could be the number one.
41:57And there's – we just don't have any idea how this is going to shake out.
42:02The Dolphins are pretty well covered, so we're going to get a lot of reports on the camp rotations and that kind of thing.
42:10One thing I will be on the lookout for is kind of his skill set.
42:15If we get some Malik Washington is basically – he's like an extension of the running game receiver.
42:20I could see that because it's going to be that kind of offense.
42:25We know they're not going to be trying – other than, like, some occasional, like, take your chances deep shots.
42:31They're not going to be pushing the ball down the field.
42:35It's going to be a run-based offense, one where they're probably looking for small wins, trying not to put too much on Malik Willis' shoulders.
42:43And that is Malik Washington's skill set. So just if we see something along the lines, yeah, he's basically an extension of the running game.
42:51I would pay a lot of attention to that.
42:54But it is the kind of offense where you have to just sift through the really tedious – like, I was out
43:01there and I charted, you know, who had – who ran the most routes in Malik Willis' under center today?
43:08Because we don't have any idea, like, what the three receiver set is going to be or the two receiver set or whatever.
43:15And someone – by definition, someone has to be out there doing it.
43:20I don't think they're going to run a one receiver set or a zero receiver set.
43:25So it's going to be tedious, but you have to be willing to grind Dolphins training camp reports very hard.
43:31We are sponsored by Lisa. And can I mention my own personal Lisa mattress is kind of my reset button?
43:38You know what that's like. Go to bed, kind of filled up with the day, and try and rest and get ready for it all again tomorrow.
43:47My Lisa mattress is just so comfortable. It's perfect.
43:50I've slept on a Lisa for more than 10 years now.
43:53They've really grown. They've got several mattress styles. They've got hybrids and cooling options, beds for kids.
43:59They actually have a Lisa sleep quiz to help you pick which bed is right for you.
44:04And if you've been putting off getting a new mattress, I just couldn't recommend taking the quiz more and getting a Lisa more.
44:12The most important thing, though, is that just because it's perfect for me doesn't mean it's perfect for you.
44:18Lisa knows that mattresses are super individual things. So they give you four months to sleep on your new bed.
44:25And if it's not a reset button for you, if it's not perfect, they'll come pick it up and they will refund you.
44:32Right now, it's their July 4th extended sale, which means 25% off select mattresses when you go to leesa.com.
44:39And then if you use the code Harris, they'll take another $50 off the top.
44:43For 25% off, leesa.com. And for another $50 off, use that code Harris.
44:48We're back with Pat and we have one more team left in the AFC East and it's a Lulu to talk about.
44:55I guess the Jets have probably surpassed the Dolphins in the market's assumptions about, well, they've built an offensive line and they
45:02signed a veteran quarterback who I've seen actually be good before as opposed to Malik Willis.
45:07And they have the skill guys and I don't know.
45:11I tend to think that probably both Brees Hall and Garrett Wilson will go high enough that I'm scared.
45:17But I'll just say Garrett Wilson. I know what the camp is going to be like because I know every year what
45:24the Garrett Wilson camp is like when he's healthy, which is he looks incredible.
45:29You know why? Because he's incredible. But I can't believe that the market is going to once again just go, yep, sold.
45:36I'm in. Geno Smith. Key to unlocking him. I fear helium for Garrett Wilson's camp stock and, you know, therefore fantasy stock
45:43that I just don't think I'll believe in. I can't go back.
45:47I can never do this again. And I don't even know if I've ever been like truly in on Garrett Wilson, but I was never truly out.
45:56I had shares, quote unquote, sprinkled throughout the years.
45:59And I'd the bowl like when the upside case is that you don't understand.
46:03I know everything was terrible last year, but now Geno Smith and Frank Reich are going to fix it.
46:09Like just can't. There's there's only so much time in the world.
46:13You got to let someone else deal with this.
46:16Like I'm not out here grand and grinding large field tournaments.
46:20I'm managing like eight to nine redraft teams. I have the luxury of just ignoring guys.
46:25I'm going to ignore Garrett Wilson because I there's I cannot do it.
46:29Is he even is he even good, by the way?
46:33Like, is he truly? I think he is. I think he is.
46:37I think he runs a really good route. I think his ball skills are fine.
46:42And I think he's like a body control guy.
46:44Really good. If he was. He is a body control guy.
46:48Precise route runner, too. You're absolutely right. Yeah. Yeah.
46:51But like he's had hands problems. No question. I do think he's he's led a tragic NFL existence by being drafted by the New York Jets.
46:59And that's a big problem. But like. For one minute, do I what I saw out of Geno Smith?
47:06Like if you're if people are romanticizing the year and a half Geno Smith was good in Seattle.
47:12Like, bless his heart. It's great. He had moments.
47:15There's no question. But, you know, a lot of guys have had moments and he hasn't shown anything like that in years.
47:22That is the perfect summation of Geno Smith. A lot of guys have had moments like you can't hold on to a moment forever.
47:30You know, the sun always does set on the day.
47:33And this what Geno? I mean, it wasn't the worst quarterback season I've ever seen, I guess.
47:38But it was in the running when I saw from Geno Smith, the Raiders.
47:43Worst quarterback season ever from an established player, I guess I should say, like a guy who's been starting for a while.
47:50And I know it was by no means all his fault.
47:54The alibis abounded in Las Vegas. But just a truly, truly horrific quarterback performance that I saw from Geno Smith last year.
48:01And it'd be one thing if he landed with some kind of Kyle Shanahan up coaching staff.
48:07Frank Reich is not that. Aaron Glenn is not that in New York City.
48:11And I just don't see how these people are conspiring to save Geno Smith.
48:16And I don't see how Geno Smith is conspiring to save Garrett Wilson.
48:20Yeah. And, you know, I started talking about the bottom half of this division, you know, the presumed bottom half of this
48:27division by saying I'm looking for value. I want to pay attention to the teams that people consider hopeless.
48:33I want to find because the moment they're not hopeless, you found a fantasy starter in the seventh round or the eighth round or whatever.
48:42The problem is that Garrett Wilson's going to still go.
48:45I'm told in the top 20 receivers for fantasy, there's no value there at all.
48:50Like, I don't understand how that. I feel like, you know, you talked earlier in the show about finding edges being harder and harder.
48:58Totally agree. This is an edge that I feel like you can just sort of pencil in, like, ignore everything it's said
49:05about Garrett Wilson and don't draft him. And you've obtained an edge.
49:09Ignore everything it's said about Garrett Wilson. But now this part is really critical.
49:13Pay attention to everything that is said about Adonai Mitchell.
49:17This time it counts. And you mentioned some hand problems for Garrett Wilson.
49:2180 knows a little bit about that. But kidding aside, I think he's, like, going in the wide receiver six to seven range.
49:28I'm a little interested in Adonai Mitchell as a free flyer.
49:32That's all I'll say. Yeah, exactly. That's a good way to pivot it, which is to say we want to find guys
49:39that we can have in week one and week two on our team and then immediately jettison for waivers.
49:45It's fine. It's fine to take shots like that.
49:48Adonai Mitchell isn't going to get any training camp hype.
49:52I can't imagine a world where people talk about Adonai.
49:55Trust me, he actually will. Well, it's New York.
49:58It's a good point. It's New York and it's fantasy people.
50:01We've had our brains ruined by big plays. He'll do, like, two cool things.
50:06And then there will be reports, unfortunately. Well, then let me ask it.
50:10Like, I can't see a world where those – because that's going to happen across the league for 23 other receivers.
50:17Like, I can't imagine that gets A.D. Mitchell drafted at wide receiver 40 even.
50:22Like, there's no – he's going to be free.
50:25No, and Adonai Mitchell is a guy where we've seen enough reports.
50:29Now we have to actually see it on the field.
50:32Fair. Yeah, the point being, though, that free – there's going to be a million options for free receivers.
50:38I don't imagine anything that can come out of Jets camp is going to cause me to go, man, you need to elevate A.D.
50:46Mitchell above all the other potential free receivers at the end.
50:49But if I wound up in a position where in a deeper league I took him as my seventh guy, the last
50:57guy on my bench or whatever, and just saw for a couple of weeks, that's perfectly fine.
51:02That's way more likely to happen for me than taking Garrett Wilson in the freaking third round or whatever.
51:08Everything you just said, there's nothing I could add to it that would make it a more perfect take.
51:15Completely agree across the board there. And then this kind of – I mean, you know, around here we really like Brees Hall.
51:22We really don't like the fact that he winds up signing a – Like, why are you doing this to yourself, man?
51:29I know. What are you doing, man? Like, especially after two years of, like, brick by brick every week, like, all right, do another cryptic social media post.
51:39Now do another one. Now get on another platform and do one there.
51:43Like, he had laid the foundation to break out of this jail, and then he just didn't do it.
51:49And I guess I don't – you know, there's not training camp news.
51:53Well, I'll tell you what the training camp news is going to be because it happened last year.
51:59Aaron Glenn saying, hey, you all want to talk about Brees Hall.
52:03We got three guys here. This is a three-headed monster.
52:06And then, of course, week one they come out and Brees Hall plays, like, all but four snaps or whatever.
52:13Braylon Allen does wind up getting hurt, so we never got to see the full flower of the plan or whatever.
52:20But, like, I kind of don't think, no matter how many times Aaron Glenn says that in August, that anyone's – I
52:27feel like last year people were going, oh, then I'm going to lower Brees Hall.
52:32But I feel like fool me once. You know, I just don't think anyone's going to hear that out of Aaron Glenn
52:39and go, okay, I better take – I'm really worried about Braylon Allen.
52:43I got to take Brees – wherever I have Brees Hall, he needs to go five spots lower now.
52:50Like, I don't imagine that's not going to happen.
52:52Last year, even if you're skeptical, you did have to pay attention because it was a new coach coming in, trying to set the tone.
53:01A coach, too, he was a defensive coach, but coming from an organization in the Lions that had a lot of success with the two-back approach.
53:09So you did have to pay attention last year.
53:12Then it didn't manifest for whatever reason. Braylon Allen injury may be chief amongst them, I guess, although he wasn't doing anything before he got hurt.
53:21But it's on you if you fall for it this year because he's already saying it again.
53:26He did say it like a month or two ago.
53:29We got – and after that contract extension, though, you can just ignore anything he says about it because if Brees Hall
53:37is not playing 70% to 75% of the snaps, it would be one of the biggest upsets of the fantasy season.
53:43Like, they spoke with their wallet. It's not a three-headed monster.
53:47It's the Brees Hall backfield, and I just don't think you have to worry about it.
53:52I agree. And I would like to – I would like to – you know, who knows what his ADP winds up
54:00doing in August on various platforms because even though he's stable, many, many of the running backs around him in that RB2
54:07area are very much not stable, and there'll be news all about whoever you want to throw it.
54:13Jeremiah Love. Oh, my God. Kyron Williams is now, you know, tying his shoes on the sideline, and Blake Horm is taking snaps.
54:20And Alvin Kamara's – He's sitting there getting reps at linebacker.
54:24Right. Alvin Kamara's getting, you know, is – we talked about earlier in the show, like, getting, you know, now that scares me.
54:31Also, Travis Etienne. Like, I would love to have Brees Hall fall to a point where he is being punished for the
54:38Jetsiness, and I can get him at what I consider to be value.
54:43Again, because I think people prejudge offenses too much beforehand.
54:46As hopeless things seem beforehand, they just wind up not being too often for me to ignore it.
54:52I feel like – just like with HN, I kind of want to be on the buy side of Hall, but it's
54:59all going to come down to what the market does with him.
55:03I do. I want to be on the buy side of Hall, too, which is scary because I've always been a Brees Hall fader.
55:11And not necessarily because I didn't believe in the talent.
55:14And just because there was just always – he's always swimming against the tide, like swimming against the current.
55:20And this year is the first time where even though it's maybe the worst overall – probably not the worst overall offense environment he's been a part of.
55:29It's not a good one. I feel like he has just fewer questions than he's had the past two or three years.
55:37Yeah, because he's not getting traded. Yeah, because he's not getting – he's finally – He's not going to hold out.
55:44He's the guy, finally. I don't know how it took this long, but they finally decided – like there's no more weird
55:51bickering back and forth between Brees Hall and the Jets.
55:54He is the New York Jets running back. Yeah, and I think a lot of people will say, I don't care.
56:01I don't want the New York Jets running back.
56:04And my message is always, you don't know what these offenses are going to be.
56:09You know, like I – sure, am I making a bet that the Jets are going to be a top five offense?
56:16No. Would I have made the bet that Daniel Jones would lead a top five offense for three quarters of a season last year?
56:24I very much would not have. I have an almanac from last year in which I did nothing but poke fun at
56:31Daniel Jones and say in every Colts profile that what a wreck this is.
56:36It's either Anthony Richardson or Daniel Jones. And then suddenly, this is just how the NFL works.
56:41We get surprised all the time. Good players are good to draft.
56:45But, of course, we also don't want to overextend ourselves because they could be bad too.
56:50Like the point isn't that everybody could be good.
56:53The point is that some could wind up stinking when we don't expect it.
56:58But, yeah, again, like camp news-wise, the Hall news probably is the least important thing you could possibly imagine.
57:04But the news of Josh Jacobs and Jeremiah Love and Chase Brown and all the guys ranked around him.
57:10And even Javante Williams, Travis Atran, they're all in that same box.
57:14It's all going to matter. And then what that does to Brie Saul will probably change whether or not we want to draft him.
57:22Well, Pat, thank you so much for indulging the fascist email.
57:26Once again, you've survived. I hope you had fun.
57:29I did. I hope you survived having to wait on me and my children.
57:33Your children are great. There's a lot of them.
57:36There's seven or eight. I'm very excited for all of them.
57:40You can find Pat on social media. He's all over the place posting as RotoPat.
57:45Look up his stuff. What do you have coming?
57:48I don't think you're writing like this coming week.
57:50But are you going to do kind of the same topics of like overarching written columns that you have typically done in the past?
57:58We're finishing up our off-season team preview series. I do have one coming up on Monday.
58:04And I forget what it is. I forget which team it is.
58:07I haven't written it yet because we've been finishing up our draft guide profiles.
58:12We're doing a free online draft guide this year.
58:15Details to come. Don't read it. I believe next week you don't read it.
58:20Yeah, don't read it. Because it's because you want people to buy the Almanac, obviously.
58:25But no, you can read both. We probably have a lot of overlap in our customer base that are getting both, I think.
58:32But that's coming later this month. I'm finishing up the running backs today.
58:36We're doing it a little later than a lot of places do.
58:40Because we're not doing a print magazine this year.
58:43But a free online guide. That's coming soon. Our team preview series on the site is almost finished.
58:49I am doing the Miami Dolphins. No, I already did the Miami Dolphins.
58:53I'm doing the New York Jets. Oh, my God.
58:56I just prepared for the column during this show.
58:59I just pre-wrote it. So New York Jets coming on Monday.
59:03Check it out on rotoworld.com. Excellent. Well, I appreciate you doing it.
59:07Thank you. Of course, we'll be back on in August.
59:10And we'll talk to you then. Thank you, Chris.
59:13Always my pleasure. And thank you so much for listening.
59:16Let me also thank the three sponsors that made this wonderful show possible.
59:20Three good ones. And if you were interested in what I had to say, you can find information about them in today's show notes.
59:28We had Lisa. So if you've been putting off getting a new mattress, I don't think everybody listening needs a new mattress right now.
59:36But, you know, some of you might love it if you'd keep Lisa in mind.
59:41Wild Grain. Give Wild Grain a try because I got to tell you, it's insane.
59:46It's so good. It's carbs. You got to make your carbs count.
59:50But these carbs count. Give it a shot. Like, subscribe.
59:53It's not like a long membership fee or anything.
59:56Give it a shot. Get one box. And like me, you'll probably be hooked.
60:01And then trust and will. Not something that's amazing to have to think about.
60:05But we have responsibilities. And it is nice to just kind of do it and then be able to put it away
60:12and know that everything's taken care of. Again, you can find information about today's sponsors, all the sponsors, at harrisfootball.com.
60:19I do appreciate how well you do support the sponsors when you can.
60:23And if you can't right now, so happy to have you listening.
60:27You're awesome. Thank you so much for being here, for listening.
60:31I appreciate you all so much. So that's going to do it for this episode.
60:36Coming up next week, we're doing three per week.
60:39Two on the main show. Andy Behrens and I will be aboard the Yacht Club on Monday.
60:44And then Tuesday and Friday, more divisions, more previews.
60:47The plan is Ben Gretch, who's great. He'll join on Tuesday.
60:51And then on Friday next week, Andy Behrens. It's a double shot of Andy.
60:55We're going to get a little bit of free side Andy as well.
61:00I don't know if paywall Andy can hack it, frankly.
61:03Can he stop his incessant cursing? Only you'll find out when you listen to next Friday's show.
61:08It should be pretty fun indeed. Until then, thanks again so much for listening.
61:13Your hat is awesome. You're awesome for wearing it.
61:16I will talk to you next week. The Harris Football Podcast's opening theme is Under the Gun by Apex Manor.
61:22The closing theme is Say Yes by The Wellspring.
